6 DAYS UNTIL THE ROYAL RUMBLE
CENA IS BACK AND GOING FOR GOLD!
Last Monday night saw the shocking return of the former WWE Champion, John Cena. After suffering a torn pectoral muscle several months ago that forced him to relinquish the title he held for so long, it was the current holder of the same relinquished title that was shocked the most to see Cena. Randy Orton was relieved to have survived the challenge of Triple H the week before, but was stunned to see Cena return and lay down the reason behind his return, he wants the WWE Championship back.
And with Orton uncertain on just what condition Cena is in, he decided to gamble and try to take advantage by giving Cena his rematch at the Royal Rumble, but made the match a TLC Match. With the added stipulation, it gives Orton the opportunity to test Cena’s condition, but could we see Orton cause his own downfall. When the two meet in a tag team match last week, the fierce rivals fought there way the crowd before the match could end. With so much drive in both superstars, just what can we expect to see this Monday just six days before they go at it at the Royal Rumble?
STEPH HAS THE POWER, BUT THE McMAHON MEN PLAY THE GAME
Just when Vince McMahon thought he and his two sons, Shane and JBL had all the control on Raw, he found out pretty quickly that it wasn’t going to be that way for very long. His daughter Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley announced in front of the world that her mother Linda had given her the final twenty five percent stake in the company to level the playing field and split the power crisis on Raw. She took advantage too last week as she made one hell of a main event, with Shane and JBL taking on her husband.
Triple H would have himself a mystery partner which turned out to be Ric Flair. However, it took a down turn as the McMahon men along with Orlando Jordan used the numbers game to their advantage, which resulted in both The Game and The Nature Boy ending up on the wrong end of a beat down. We also found out that both Triple H and Mr. McMahon’s sons will take part in this Sunday’s Royal Rumble match. We can only wonder what chaos will go down this Monday night in Minneapolis.
PUNK TAKES THE TITLE, CAN HE WIN IT THIS SUNDAY?
CM Punk has pushed boundary after boundary with the Intercontinental Champion, Jeff Hardy, but just when you thought he couldn’t stoop any lower, last Monday night he may just have pushed Jeff too far. After being put in tag team action, they were left to go at it when Punk used Jeff’s title belt as a weapon to knock him down before beating Jeff with his own move, the swanton bomb. However, Punk was not done and took off with the title belt that he hopes to win this Sunday at the Royal Rumble? Jeff must be dying to gain some retribution on Punk for everything he’s been put through since the Survivor Series, will he be able to exact some revenge just six days before their highly anticipated match up?
KENNEDY & JERICHO MAKE AMENDS
Suffering the pain of a loss two weeks ago, Chris Jericho and Mr. Kennedy were forced to team up with a place in the Royal Rumble at stake for the winners. With Jericho still livid after being sneaked attacked after beating Kennedy at Saturday Night’s Main Event, he snapped and lashed out at Kennedy during the match. However, when Kennedy came round, he retaliated and gave Jericho another taste of The Mic Check, the move that cost them the match.
It also cost them the spot in the Rumble as Jeff Hardy took advantage by removing Kennedy from the ring before Jericho tasted defeat. However, last week, they were given a second chance and both victorious in their matches, and this coming week, they will go at it in six man action when Jericho ****s forces with Jeff and Rey Mysterio to take on Kennedy, CM Punk and Elijah Burke. With just six days to go before the Rumble, it sure should be an explosive match up.
IS THE GLAMAZON RATTLED?
It’s not very often, if at all you see Beth Phoenix intimidated, however last week may have given the WWE Womens Champion something to think about. It was two months ago that The Glamazon, whether purposely or not, put Victoria in hospital with a severe concussion following a shot to the head with her title belt. Victoria fell to the floor, but hit her head on a steel chair as she fell, causing her to lose blood as well as suffering the concussion.
And last week The Glamazon was in for a surprise as she was told there was something waiting for her in her locker room. There was. . . Victoria. The also intimidating diva had sprung a surprise on Phoenix and made it clear she was looking for payback, making it very clear that she was not intimidated by The Glamazon. With Victoria making her in ring return this week against Jillian Hall, will the Womens Champion be watching closely at the next contender to her throne?
ARE WE SEEING LOVE’S YOUNG DREAM?
It looks like that we could well be seeing young love blossom in front of our eyes between Cody Rhodes and Kelly Kelly. Ever since helping Kelly out of a difficult situation from The Colon Brothers two weeks ago, it appears that they are both very smitten with each other. Just when it looked like it would be a perfect night for Cody after qualifying for the Royal Rumble at Eduardo’s expense, and having met Kelly met backstage, Eduardo and Carlito struck yet again, paying him back for the defeat earlier on and for possibly interfering in Eduardo’s attempts to charm Kelly the week before. This Monday night will see Cody and Carlito go at it, and with both men already in the Royal Rumble match, who will emerge with a big win going into Sunday night?
FINAL RUMBLE PLACES ON THE LINE
Raw has just two places left in the Royal Rumble match, and this week we will find just who will occupy those spots. Tommy Dreamer meets Santino Marella, and in addition we will see the in ring debut and return of Ron Killings and Orlando Jordan respectively. Having insulted Jordan backstage last week on his first Raw appearance, will Killings be able to follow up for a big victory, or will he suffer at the hands of Orlando?
CONFIRMED FOR THIS WEEK
Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho & Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk, Mr. Kennedy & Elijah Burke
ROYAL RUMBLE QUALIFYING MATCH
Tommy Dreamer vs. Santino Marella
ROYAL RUMBLE QUALIFYING MATCH
Ron Killings vs. Orlando Jordan
So Edge is in Canada so it’s going to be quite good for him tonight as well as Shawn Michaels getting a lot of heat; because of the Screw Job. Edge’s speech was a little to real? Involving too much ‘real world’ if you know what I mean? Using stuff about Americans shooting people in collages etc. Don’t think they would mention that kind of stuff but at least he didn’t go on about the Montreal Screw Job. Hmmm Shawn Michaels is right … get over it Canada. A good start to the opening promo which is what it should have been ... Edge, the Canadian against the guy who screwed the Canadians favourite. There match at the Rumble will be good. Oh Edge had his own countrymen turn on him, should have seen that coming. And well Tista coming in spices thing up after what has happened over the last couple of weeks. Shawn Michaels line “Don’t give him what he wants” wow ultimate cheese lol. Couple of things didn’t make sense … e.g “If it was up to me Edge and I could shut you up by giving you want” … and Shawn is the World Heavyweight Champion not the WWE Champion if I’m correct? But these were minor things which I don’t really care about because well I understand what you mean mate . Cool match for tonight but he won’t win me thinks as well as I don’t understand Shawn’s last comment but oh well.
Bloody hell Morrison … slow down! He talks in bunches and quite slow or that’s how I see it maybe he spoke to much in a bunch here. Good match for Masters and McIntyre … Masters getting the win is fine with me it was a nice match to opening Smackdown and well was okay I guess. Good office promo with Regal and Kenny … I like his character and I kinda of like Chavo as the face here as well. Regal saying Kenneth annoys me lol … but it goes with his English stereotyped character. I guess the next match is four corners match? And yes good match … lots of good moves … Miz and Morrison is a good win for me as I like them.
I think for this next promo it had the makings of a good promo but the text need to be spread out in my opinion it’s too bunch up. It was a good one … MVP being the cocky guy he is. Benji and he would make a good tag team I think … this might be what you are building towards. Next match I pretty sure that Shannon Moore will be pinned and not get in the Rumble. Nice match and my prediction was right … great psychology between the two guys near the end and well one or the other will eliminate the other in the Royal Rumble me thinks. Just clicked … Kane = Royal Rumble!
Nice interview for the First Blood match … which by the way should be great, he really built Umaga to be the monster he is. He jumped in and out of his accent but sometimes you were writing with and sometimes you were not but that doesn’t really bother me, makes me laugh when you write it. Chris Harris = Snooze … nah I don’t mind him but I hope his push stops after the Rumble, just don’t like him that much. Really good match, best match so far and was a good length …. It could be worthy of a PPV match I thought it was that good. Good for Hardy to pick up the win as US Champ … great match man.
Matt Bentley introduced hey? Coolies … Edge was basically repeating himself from the opening of the night. Now it is time for the big main event, which isn’t the main event. Undertaker vs. Umaga … should be a great one. Starts off great with Umaga hitting a Samoan Drop and Undertaker getting up really, really, really fast to get out the way of the Wreckin’ Ball. Well Umaga getting busted open was a surprise but then with the ref down I didn’t really surprise me. And then Undertaker got busted open but the ref is still down … well he gets back up and sees Undertaker bleeding … shame Undertaker should of won I think but if these two fight some time in the future Undertaker will win for sure.
Great Main event and match of the night back and fourth like a great match should be … and then seeing Tista come down and ruin it all was the sensible thing to do and well setting up the three way for Royal Rumble is good. But my prediction … Michaels retains …
Overall it was a solid show not as good as last RAW but still good. The opening promo should have been better to be honest but the Main Event made up for that as did Taker and Umaga … so really good matches as well as the solid ones at the start. All good and the Rumble is shaping up nice.
Great Raw preview Nige, I can't wait for the show. The McMahon storyline is great and I can't wait to see what happens next. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the Jeff/Punk rivalry too, I'm really into this feud and I can't wait for the match at the Rumble, I can see Jeff getting one up on Punk though heading into the Rumble as Punk has been in control in recent weeks. I'm looking forward to Killings' in-ring debut too. Let me know when it's up and I'll review, sorry I didn't review your Smackdown I've been busy recently, but I enjoyed reading the show and the two main events were great. I'm off to the Bridge soon for the game, wish me luck!
Re: WWE.com - Television (Raw Preview - 21st January '08)
Good preview Nige. I think one interesting angle in your thread at the moment is the Cody Rhodes/Kelly Kelly angle, because it's different and not something many people would do. I'm intrigued to see where it's headed.
Obviously all of RAW's other feuds are interesting as well. Hopefully Orton re-injures Cena in their TLC match for the WWE Title.
RAW Preview looks great. There's a bunch of interesting matchup and the storylines look quite interesting. Can't wait to review RAW as my first review in your BTB, PM me when it's posted!

6 DAYS UNTIL THE ROYAL RUMBLE
***VIDEO RECAP*** FROM LAST WEEK
John Cena making his return and his confrontation with Randy Orton, leading to the announcement that they will meet at the Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship in a TLC Match
Cena & Jeff Hardy taking on Punk & Hardy, with the ending showing Orton and Cena brawling to the back, through the crowd
The McMahon boys in ring promo and then Stephanie coming out to say that she has been given her mum’s 25% stake of the company and that Triple H will face both JBL & Shane later on with a mystery partner
The main event with Ric Flair being Trips’ partner, only for JBL & Shane to get DQ’d, leading to a beat down and the Coast to Coast on Triple H to end of the show
“Burn in my Light” hits & Randy Orton walks down to the ring in casual clothes with the WWE Championship over his shoulder
***MAJOR HEAT***
Randy Orton: It was this time last week that we all got one of the biggest shocks in a long time, when out of nowhere, we witnessed the return of John Cena
***BIG POP***
Randy Orton: I have one piece of advice to offer all of you. . . enjoy it while it lasts, because all the celebrations aren’t gonna last much longer. In fact, you have just six days until you witness John Cena meeting the biggest obstacle of his life. . . ME! . . . You might all like to think that John Cena is going to walk into our TLC match at the Royal Rumble and just throw me to one side, but let me reassure you, that is not gonna happen. I’m not just one of the challengers that you’ve been able to dispose of with ease John, you’re going head to head with The Legend Killer. The man that put you on the shelf. . . the man that has taken out legend after legend after legend, and most importantly the man who will leave Madison Square Garden this Sunday night as the WWE Champion
***HEAT***
Randy Orton: It’s not arrogance, it’s just the truth John. In case you’ve not seen what’s been going on while you’ve been laid up at home, I have dominated everyone who has got in my way, more than you ever did or could even dream of. . . And I’ll let you on a little secret John, I’m going to dominate you too. . . just like I did when I nearly tore your arm off. . . And best of all John. . . this Sunday, it’s all legal, everything goes
***BIG POP***
Randy Orton: You all talk about the fact that I’ve never been in a TLC match, but that means absolutely nothing. . . I’ve walked into matches I’ve never competed in before and won. . . I WALKED INTO A HARDCORE MATCH WITH MICK FOLEY, AND I WON. . . I WENT INSIDE A STEEL CAGE AGAINST “THE NATURE BOY” RIC FLAIR AND BEAT THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME. . . I STARED DEATH IN THE FACE WHEN I FACED THE UNDERTAKER IN A CASKET MATCH AND CAME OUT VICTORIOUS. . . AND WHO CAN FORGET THE LAST MAN STANDING MATCH AGAINST TRIPLE H LAST YEAR WHEN I BECAME THE WWE CHAMPION, DEFEATING THE GAME. . . IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT MATCH IT IS OR WHO THE CHALLENGER IS, THERE IS NOBODY ON THIS PLANET WHO IS CAPABLE OF BEATING THE LEGEND KILLER, EVEN JOHN CENA. . .
***HEAT***
Randy Orton: . . . YOU ALL WANNA BELIEVE THAT JOHN CENA IS AT A HUNDRED PERCENT, BUT LET ME TELL YOU THAT HE IS MAKING THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF HIS CAREER. NOT ONLY AM I AT THE VERY TOP OF MY GAME, I WILL FINISH THE JOB I STARTED THIS SUNDAY WHEN I FINISH THE CAREER OF JOHN CENA
***TONS OF HEAT***
Randy Orton: He might think he is ready to go, he might think he has what it takes to climb that ladder at the Royal Rumble, but John, make no mistake about it, this is a match you can’t win. Your head is on the chopping block, ready to be taken off its shoulders, and this Sunday I will be your executioner. I will take your career and finish it just like that, making your return the shortest return in the history of this business while I continue my destiny to be the greatest WWE Champion of all time
***HEAT***
Randy Orton: YOU CAN BOO ALL YOU LIKE, THE SIMPLE FACT IS, THERE IS NO ONE INCLUDING EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU WHO WILL BE ABLE TO RAIN ON MY PARADE AFTER I’M DONE BEATING CENA THIS SUNDAY. YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO ACCEPT THAT I AM THE FUTURE OF THIS BUSINESS AND THIS IS THE RANDY ORTON ERA. JOHN CENA’S TIME AT THE TOP IS OVER, IT’S MY TIME TO SHINE, AND I GUARANTEE THAT’S WHAT I’LL DO THIS SUNDAY NIGHT WHEN I DO THE WORLD ONE BIG FAVOUR WHEN I FINISH JOHN CENA ONCE AND FOR ALL. . .
“My Time is Now” blasts out & John Cena walks down to the ring with a smile on his face
***BIG POP with some boos***
John Cena: Woah, woah, Randy, Randy, woah. . . calm it down already. You don’t have to worry about me being one hundred percent, all you’ve gotta worry about is me taking back the WWE title
***HUGE POP***
John Cena: Randy, when you tell these people I’m not one hundred percent, you’ve hit the nail on the head. How the hell can I be one hundred percent after what you did four months ago? But you better get ready Randy, because that’s what I’ve been doing from the very second I got out of my operation, doing everything I can to make sure I’m ready to get back as quick as possible to walk into this ring, look you in the eyes and beat the holy hell out of Randy Orton
***BIG POP***
John Cena: I’ve had sleepless nights, lying awake, imagining every last act of violence that’s gonna fall your way when we finally meet. And low and behold, we’re just six days away Randy, just six days. In six days time Randy, you are gonna have the toughest fight of your life, and like you said. . . it’s all legal. I CAN WRAP AS MANY STEEL CHAIRS AROUND YOUR BIG, OVER SIZED HEAD, SHOVE AS MANY BOOTS UP YOUR ASS THAT IT CAN TAKE AND BEAT YOU UP SO BAD YOU’LL NEVER HAVE THE CHANCE TO PUT ME ON THE SHELF AGAIN
***POP***
John Cena: But Randy, you need to remember one ever so small detail. . . I know you’ve got a lot going on in that head of yours, but you need to understand just what you’re letting yourself in for at the Royal Rumble. . . I hurt people Randy, and then I beat them. . . something you don’t, and something you won’t do this Sunday night. You’ve never beaten me Randy and it’s not gonna happen anytime soon
***POP***
John Cena: YOU’RE WALKING INTO THE LIONS DEN AND YOU’RE NOT GETTING OUT ALIVE. AFTER EVERYTHING YOU’VE PUT ME THROUGH AND HAVING TO LISTEN TO ALL THE CRAP THAT’S COME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH, YOU BETTER GET READY TO HAVE YOUR ASS KICKED LIKE IT’S NEVER BEEN KICKED BEFORE, BECAUSE AT THE ROYAL RUMBLE RANDY, I WILL TAKE THE ORTON ERA AND PUT IT FIRMLY IN THE PAST, JUST LIKE MY INJURY AND ONCE AGAIN CLIMB THE LADDER AND BECOME THE WWE CHAMPION
***BIG POP***
John Cena: And Randy, I can see it in your eyes. . . you’re worried. You know that you can’t beat me. That’s why you took me out like the coward that you are. Deep down Randy, beyond the act that you’re putting on right now, you’ve already resigned to the fact that come Sunday night, you will be losing the WWE Championship
***BIG POP***
Randy Orton: THAT’S CRAP. YOU DON’T SCARE ME. YOU NEVER HAVE AND YOU NEVER WILL
“No Chance in Hell” comes through the speakers as Vince McMahon walks out to the top of the ramp with a microphone in hand
***LOTS OF HEAT***
Vince McMahon: Can I just say how great it is to have John Cena back on Raw
***POP***
Vince McMahon: YEAH, THE CHAMP IS. . . Oh sorry John, I see that the champ is here, it’s just not you
***HEAT***
Vince McMahon: John, I have to say it really hasn’t been the same since you’ve been away. . . It’s better, and you know why? . . . Because the McMahon men now control Raw and everyone has to obey us, including you John. . . And since you’re arguably the biggest star aside from me and my sons, it makes sense that tonight you learn just how things have changed around here. And you will learn, because right here tonight in that very ring, it’s going to be John Cena going head to head with my boys. . . JBL and Shane O Mac. . . in a No Disqualification match
***MAJOR HEAT***
“No Chance in Hell hits again as Cena shakes his head and Orton smiles, then claps the announcement as Vince turns round and walks to the back with a smile on his face too
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
Jim Ross: Tonight folks we will see the in ring debut of Ron Killings when he takes on Orlando Jordan for a place in this Sunday’s Royal Rumble. . . But that’s not all, not by a long shot
***VIDEO PROMO***
***CUT BACKSTAGE***
We see Maria getting her make up done when her make up artist finishes up and walks off
***POP***
Maria stands up from the chair and turns round when Melina walks into her
***HEAT***
Melina: Hey, watch where you’re going
Maria: I’m really sorry Melina, I didn’t mean to. . .
Melina: You’re right you’re sorry. I would slap you across that face of yours, but it looks ugly enough tonight. What happened?
Maria: Nothing
Maria looks really upset as Melina just grins
Melina: Hey don’t cry Maria, I’m sure some typical guy from Minneapolis will take pity on you tonight. I mean that’s the best a bimbo like you can do, some loser from a disgusting state like Minnesota
***HEAT***
Maria: I like Minnesota
***POP***
Melina: Well you would Maria, it’s full of losers and no hopers. It’s just so plain and boring. . . kind of like you
***HEAT***
Maria’s becomes even more upset, only for Santino Marella to walk up to them both
***HEAT***
Santino Marella: What do we have here? Maria, why you cry? It must be-a because you do not have me in your life anymore right? . . . You will be okay some-a-day Maria, but you only have yourself to blame. I mean look at this radiant beauty we have here. Melina is beautiful, she is not a bimbo and only good for one a-thing like you Maria. Melina is how you say a real woman. In fact, how would you like-a to escort me to the ring for my match tonight?
Melina: I’d love to
Santino Marella: See Maria, Melina is a real woman. . . Now why don’t you run along and check your hair. . . Haha, let’s go Melina
***HEAT***
Maria looks really upset as Santino & Melina laugh as they walk down the hall
***CUT TO THE ARENA***
“Cool” hits & Carlito makes his way down to the ring alongside his brother Eduardo with big smiles on both their faces
***HEAT***
As he gets into the ring, Carlito walks over to the far side and asks for a microphone
Carlito: Tonight you are going to see Carlito finish the job me and my brother Eddie started last week on Cody Rhodes. . . What the hell is wrong with dat guy? He should know by now dat you don’t mess with The Colon brothers. . . And y’know Cody, you can even bring dat skank of yours if ya want her to see me beat the crap out of ya like last week and the week before dat. . . Y’know what they say Cody? . . . Third time not lucky for you. . . Now dat’s cool
Cody Rhodes’ music hits as makes his way into the arena with a fierce look on his face, running down to the ring and sliding inside
***POP***
***MATCH #1***
Cody Rhodes vs. Carlito w/Eduardo
ENDING: Carlito walks across to Cody and throws a right hand at him, but it’s blocked by Cody, who then hits him with a couple of rights of his own, putting Carlito on the back foot. Cody then grabs Carlito by the head with his left hand and then nails him with a BIONIC ELBOW. . . . . Carlito drops to the mat, but Cody doesn’t look for the cover, instead reaching down and dragging Carlito up into position for a DDT, but Cody wastes a second, allowing Carlito the time he needs to escape and slip behind. He then spins Cody round and tries for a whips into the ropes, but it’s reversed by Cody, and as Carlito comes back, he surprises Cody with a running knee lift to the side of the head. He then runs through off the ropes, comes back and nails Cody with a clothesline across the back. Carlito smiles as he looks to have the match in control, then taunts Cody as he picks himself back up. With Cody almost back on his feet, Carlito turns round and runs into the ropes, turns round and goes for the SPRINGBOARD BACK ELBOW. . . . .
But as he falls back, Cody counters with a STANDING DROPKICK RIGHT TO THE BACK OF CARLITO. . . . . The crowd cheer loudly for Cody as both men drop down to the mat. Eduardo is angry on the outside and walks round to the timekeeper’s table, then grabs a steel chair. He then walks over to the apron and slides into the ring, and at the same time, Kelly Kelly comes running down the ramp, looking worried. Both Cody and Carlito then stand back up and turn round as Eduardo then walks over and swings the chair at Cody, but Cody ducks it with Carlito right behind him. Just as the chair is about to hit Carlito, Eduardo is able to stop himself from hitting his brother, but Cody slips behind Carlito and pushes him in the back, pushing him into Eduardo, knocking Eddie down to the mat. With Carlito groggy after banging heads with his brother, Cody kneels down and rolls Carlito back in a roll up as the ref counts 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3.
AFTERMATH: Cody’s music comes through the speakers as he holds the chair in his hand, seeming to prepare himself for a possible retaliation. Carlito stands back up and thinks about it, but then slips under the bottom rope before pulling Eduardo out too and walking up the ramp. Kelly looks relieved as she then climbs in the ring at the side of Cody and puts one arm around his shoulder. He turns round a little surprised, reluctantly taking his eyes off The Colon Brothers. He keeps hold of the chair as Kelly then kisses him on the cheek and strokes his arm with Carlito and Eddie looking back angrily at them
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
Mr. Kennedy and Elijah Burke are stood up in their locker room with Layla
***HEAT***
Mr Kennedy: Last week, we were unstoppable, beating the World tag Team Champions to rightly earn our place in the Royal Rumble match. You could even say we breezed it, as a couple of guys like us should. We’re two of the biggest up and coming stars in this freakin company, and we’re gonna prove that tonight when we breeze through our opponents yet again Elijah my man. . . And like we had each others back last week, we’ll do the same tonight and then this Sunday in the biggest match in the history of professional wrestling, the Royal Rumble when the inevitable strikes and I, the fast rising superstar in the WWE. . .Mr. Kennedy become the number one contender for Wrestlemania baby
***HEAT***
Burke looks a little angry
Elijah Burke: Woah, wait just. . .
CM Punk then walks in the room with Jeff Hardy’s Intercontinental Championship around his waist, and stands right up beside them
***LOTS OF HEAT***
CM Punk: You probably know why I’m here guys. . . we need to talk strategy for tonight
Mr Kennedy: What do you think we were just doin?
CM Punk: Well Ken, that’s all well and good, but if anyone here knows how to beat these three guys tonight, it’s me. Just ask Burkey boy here, he’ll tell you how I owned his ass last year and beat him in a record number of matches. And since I’ve got Jeff Hardy’s number Ken, something I see you couldn’t do as well as the fact I’m the only former World Champion here, I have the know how and the experience that we need to pull through tonight
Burke & Kennedy look at each other, looking a little pissed
Mr Kennedy: I’ll tell you what else you have apart from the damn ignorance to walk in here and talk to Mr. Kennedy like that. I don’t care who the hell you think you are, and judging by the fact you’ve got someone else’s belt around your waist, you’re not just an ass, but you’re a thief too
CM Punk: It’s just what we call a formality, no need to work yourself up about it, considering it has nothing to do with you anyway. But if you wanna bring that up, it’s fine. This title will be mine Sunday night, that’s if Jeff doesn’t come to his senses quick and realise it’s best for him not to turn up at the Royal Rumble
Mr Kennedy: It seems to me like you’ve got a little fantasy world going on there Punk as well as carrying someone else’s title, but then again it’s better than carrying some bingo hall title that means jack. . . You wanna talk to me about being a former World Champion, get real. That was ECW, it means nothing. This is Raw, in fact it’s Raw is KENNEDYYYYYY
***HEAT***
CM Punk: Who’s living in a fantasy world now huh? The last time I checked, Chris Jericho owned your ass at Saturday Night’s Main Event
***POP***
Mr Kennedy: You wanna go there huh? Let’s go there shall we?
Kennedy gets right in Punk’s face, only for Burke to get right in between them
Elijah Burke: SHUT UP THE BOTH OF YA. Get your heads in the game or we’re going down tonight. . . Between us, we can wipe the floor with those jerks we gotta face later on, so just pipe down and stop acting like asses alright, since we all know who the real leader of this team is right baby
Burke turns straight to Layla and backs off from Punk & Kennedy
Layla: Right baby
CM Punk: If that’s the way you want it, fine. I’ll just see you out there and we’ll see who’s who around here
Punk turns around and leaves the room with Kennedy looking absolutely furious
***CUT TO THE ARENA***
Jillian Hall and then Victoria make their entrances, but when the match is about to start, Beth Phoenix makes her way down to the announce table in casual clothes to a lot of heat with her Womens Championship across her shoulder, distracting Victoria in the ring
***HEAT***
***MATCH #2***
Victoria vs. Jillian Hall
ENDING: Victoria pulls Jillian back up to her feet and then whips her into the ropes, and ducks her head. As Jillian comes back, she takes a swipe at Victoria’s head, snapping Victoria’s head and neck back up. Jillian then stops and pauses for a second before turning back into the ropes. She comes back at Victoria, but she reacts quickly, takes a step back and nails Jillian with a SAVOTE KICK. . . . . A big pop comes from the crowd as Victoria then walks over to the ropes and climbs through them and onto the apron. She turns round to face the ring, grabs hold of the top rope and then hits a SPRINGBOARD SOMERSAULT LEG DROP. . . . . Another huge cheer comes from the crowd as she then reaches over and hooks both of Jillian’s legs for a cover 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . Jillian just kicks out, but Victoria gets straight back on the case.
She stands back up in front of Jillian, then does a freaky shake before flipping back for a STANDING MOONSAULT. . . . . Jillian though gets her knees up and Victoria drops to her knees clutching her stomach. As both divas then slowly make their way back up to their feet, Jillian grabs Victoria by the arm and tries for an irish whip, but Victoria reverses the whip, but twists Jillian’s arm and whips her right back into her. She stomps her hard in the gut and then places Jillian’s head between her legs. She then lifts her up and plants her with the WIDOW’S PEAK. . . . . The crowd cheer as Victoria then turns round on the mat, turns Jillian onto her back and goes for a cover 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3.
AFTERMATH: “Lady to Mess With” hits as Victoria stands back up and walks to the ropes in front of the announce table as she looks intensely at Beth Phoenix, who looks a little intimidated. Victoria then points at the Womens title belt draped on the table before signalling that it will be around her waist
***CUT BACKSTAGE***
Todd Grisham is standing by
Todd Grisham: Please welcome my guests at this time. . . Sunny and the Intercontinental Champion, Jeff Hardy
***BIG POP***
There’s a big pop coming from the arena as an intense looking Jeff & Sunny walk into the shot
Todd Grisham: Jeff, you’re just six nights away from finally getting the chance you’ve waited for for so long now when you defend the Intercontinental title against CM Punk at the Royal Rumble. . .
***POP***
Todd Grisham: . . . What’s going through your mind as you prepare for that match this Sunday?
Jeff Hardy: Todd, you know I’m an easy going guy, not much bothers me. . . But ever since CM Punk got on my back, he’s pushed me way too far. He’s pushed me way further than anyone else ever has. . . but it’s not a bad thing for me Todd. . . it’s a bad thing for Punk. . . He thinks he’s got our match wrapped up and he’s even taken my belt away from me he’s that confident. But let me make myself clear Todd, I am more than a match for Punk. You’ve pushed more boundaries than you should have with me. . . This Sunday, you’re gonna find out what makes Jeff Hardy so extreme, and then I will get my hands back on my title when I’m done beating you Punk. And, I’m gonna enjoy beating you more than I’ve ever enjoyed beating anyone my entire career

Sunny is then passed the microphone by Jeff
Sunny: Punk, you know I’m a firm believer in the saying what goes around comes around. . . You’ve not only got to Jeff, but you’ve got to me too, and everything you’ve said about me hasn’t been forgotten. . . I’ve been called a lot of things in my life Punk, but I know that this time, you’re going to pay and get what’s coming to you. . . and I’m going to enjoy every last second of it

Jeff & Sunny look into the camera, still intense for a couple of seconds before walking out of the shot

Triple H & Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley are right there, Vince doesn’t know what to do, looking worried
***BIG POP***
Vince McMahon: Don’t you dare put your hands on me. You don’t want a repeat of last week when my sons beat the crap out of you
Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: Actually dad, we kind of do want a repeat of last week. . . We couldn’t help but catch what you said earlier on with the match you made tonight. But since I have a little say of what goes on around here, I thought I’d slightly adjust that match
Vince McMahon: What are you talking about?
Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: See dad, as much as I’m sure you’d love to see John Cena get beaten up by your loyal children tonight, I can’t let that happen. . . In the grand scale of things dad, I thought we would give these fans a real main event to remember going into the Royal Rumble. And since John Cena is facing Randy Orton at the Rumble, I thought we’d put Randy in the same team as Shane and JBL
Vince McMahon: Let me get this right, you’re making it a three on one handicap match
Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: Dad, you know me better than that. We’re not going to have a handicap match, and it’s not going to be no disqualification either. . . See John Cena will have two partners tonight. . . two guys who don’t particularly like you
Triple H: Don’t like Vince. . . come on Steph, you sure?!
Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: He’s funny isn’t he dad? . . . Seriously though, we’ll find just how tough your boys are tonight when they take on John Cena. . . Bobby Lashley. . . and of course, your favourite son-in-law and my beloved husband. . . Triple H
