I think The undertaker, Umaga match should of got top billing, but i guess you had no choice but to go with the world title match as the main event! Show looks great though, i'll try to get a review up if i can.

Hey man, it’s been a while since I’ve left any comments in here so I figured now that I aint as busy I should come back to this thread on a regular basis. It was and still is one of the best threads on WF and certainly one of the most creative. I also like how different it is to the usual current day ones. Anyway that’s enough ass kissing for one day Here’s something I wrote for ya. Enjoy.

Have to say I really liked the opening video. Not only was it very informative, but it was set out in bullet points, which I have to say really works well in this instance. Because I haven’t been following for some time, it really painted a lovely picture for me to get into this show. Have to say also that the storylines that are going on at the moment seem really awesome.

You know when you mentioned Edge getting a good reaction I actually thought you had turned him face (which I’d love by the way) but then I ralized it’s because he is in Ontario. Good thinking there, I like the little touches like that. Wow, I didn’t really like the college lines. Well to be honest it doesn’t effect me that much, but I could imagine the reaction if the WWE did this in real life. Jesus they would probably get sued. I think this was a bit over the top, none the less Edge could probably say something like this so I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. I do however like how the main theme of this promo is about the screwjob in 97, it gives the promo a much more solid feel rather than the three of them rambling on about nothing. So coming to a conclusion this promo was a nice read and I enjoyed it throughout, the ending was a masterpiece too and I absolutely loved Michaels getting over on top as the promo comes to an end.

I have to say, I didn’t really like the backstage promo with the tag teams. Miz and Morrison just didn’t sound right in my opinion. I think you gave Morrison too much to say all at once, I could never imagine him getting all that out in a respectable manner. However it got the point across about how important that tag team tournament is, and it also looks like you’ll be bigging up the tag team division which is a great idea.

I like the fact that you put Masters through to the Rumble. It was a nice little match with Drew aswell and I actually found myself getting a bit too excited. Nice finish with the Master Lock. This match with the youngsters certainly gives the youngsters a time to shine, something that I wish the WWE would do once in a while.

Nice backstage segment with Regal and Kenny. I love Kenny as cruiserweight champion, and it looks like you’re going to push him to the moon one day (future hall of famer) hopefully. They both seemed in good character, and I like Regal as the general manager as I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, because he is such a good power figure, such a good authority figure. Anyway nice match announced for tonight, I can see Kenny losing, I don’t know why just do.

Hmmm, it seems like a nice concept this tag team tournament. I know who I’d love to win the whole thing, but I won’t say just yet. I’ll wait and see how this match goes first. A lot of action which is certainly a good thing, I found myself rather excited again, which is why I like your writing so much. I kinda knew Super Crazy and his tag team partner would be the first to be eliminated, it just seemed fitting considering the other teams in the tournament. Nice win also for Morrison and Miz, which was a bit obvious by the way after reading their backstage segment earlier in the night. However nice match and a nice concept on the whole, I’m liking this.

A really brilliant little segment between MVP and Shelton benjamin. Having Benjamin kind of **** forces so to speak gives him some well deserved exposure. They were both gold in this promo and showed why you are one of the best writers on WF. I’m not kissing ass here don’t worry, I just really loved this promo. I don’t have much to say on it because it was kinda perfect to be honest.

I just have to mention aswell that I love the use of images in this thread. The video commercials and everything really add to the show and make it entertaining.

Another good match in the triple threat. I liked that both Chavo and Kenny are in the Rumble (I think) I thought Kenny would lose somehow like I said earlier but I was wrong. Nevermind though. The Royal Rumble is shaping up very nicely and it has some nice good young stars in it, good going man.

However many people don’t like Umaga, I really love him. Especially when he has the funny Estrada by his side. Great interview with the pair intimidating Josh. You’ve really built Umaga up lately and it’s starting to show now. I hope you don’t just forget about him after this feud with The Undertaker, because he could be a big thing (ni pun intended)

So I missed Harris’s debut. That makes me a sad puppy but I won’t moan. My fault. I guess Harris is a face. I didn’t think it would work at first but it certainly did in this instance. I think this could be match of the night, well at least one of them. It was a great tag team match that saw just about everything these four men could pull off. Hardy winning was a surprise if I’m being honest, but a nice surprise at that. Being the United States Champion can only be a good thing for Matt, and I hope he doesn’t lose it anytime soon.

A nice addition with that Shane dude in the interview with Edge. I can see him getting involved somehow tonight. You’ve had the whole screwjob theme all night so I can see some sort of screjob happening. I hope so because that will be really exciting and will make me read next week for sure.

A very nice match, I love gimmick matches and first blood’s are no exception. You had just about everything happen which was great. I mean the match was so brutal that I found myself actually marking out in my own head whilst reading it. Umaga getting the victory was huge, I mean very huge. Especially in this type of match. However when I read the ending, I could tell Undertaker would get some kind of revenge on Umaga after the match, and that he certainly did do. This feud seems to have finally gone up a notch, and I’m looking forward to what happens next in this vicious rivalry.

The no contest finish I think was a good call. It doesn’t make either man look stronger than the other, and it makes all three men look good heading into the Royal Rumble. Oh hang on Edge wins, fair enough then, that’s still doesn’t make him stronger than Michaels or even Batista which I like. The triple threat match sounds like one hell of an announcement, I could see it all night to be honest but I didn’t know whether you would have went down that road. But seeing as you did I’m really excited now.

Overall man, I’m glad I got back into this thread, and count on me as a permanent fixture from now on. You really worked hard on Smackdown as I can tell, and your talent sone through. Everything worked well and the storylines progressed nicely. I’m looking forward to The Royal Rumble and to Raw. Nice job man

WWE.com HOMEPAGE

HUGE TITLE MATCH ANNOUNCED FOR THE RUMBLE

Last night we witnessed what was a truly jam packed, rollercoaster of a show when Smackdown came to you from Ontario, Canada. It all started with the hometown boy, Edge bringing up the screw job of the 1997 in Montreal, continuing his mission to take back the World Heavyweight Championship from Shawn Michaels. Playing the villain for the night for his previous sins in Canada, Michaels was forced into defending his title against Edge by the fed up General Manager, William Regal.

With Edge also revealing his surprise, Shawn’s cousin, Michael Shane accompanying him in his corner against Shane’s very own cousin. Just when it looked like Shawn had the match wrapped up, Shane tried to change that, only for the former World Champion, Batista to storm down to ringside and save the day, but instead cost Michaels the match, by attacking Edge for a disqualification. Leaving Regal more angry than at the top of the show, the GM made a huge decision by announcing that both Batista and Edge will challenge Michaels for the title at the Royal Rumble in a triple threat.

With just over seven days left before the Rumble, what will Michaels have to say about this and his cousin coming to try and cost him the World Championship? Find out this week on Smackdown!

sirdilznik's Smackdown review

Edge getting love from the Canadian crowd HBK is so going to get it from the crowd. They will NEVER [Y2J]Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever[/Y2J] let him forget the Montreal Screw Job. The school shootings reference is in really bad taste, even for Edge. That's too much right there  Here somes HBK and here comes the heat. I love HBK getting boos in Canada. Yes!!! Edge turns on the fans! I smell a triple threat. Or not. Edge sneaks his way into a title match. I smell a stipulation coming.

Miz was great on the mic but Morrison wasn't full of himself enough IMHO. Still good though. Not much to say about Noble or Kash.

McIntire vs. Masters - Yes! Bear Hug! Classic. MAsters wins with the Full Nelson, LOL. Good opening match. I'm not a fan of either man but the match was well written.

Kenneth will be wrestling Chavo eh? I wonder who the third person in the match will be

4 way tag - This should be really chaotic. LOL at Super Crazy being the "Mexican Sensation". Moonsault Plancha from Sydal! (or as I like to call him Elix Skipper version 2.0) Morrison hits the Moonlight Drive!!! Woohoo my boys Miz and Morrison win (I'm really digging them lately).

MVP is gold on the mic. So so in the ring, but absolute GOLD on the mic. Great promo.

Chavo/Moore/Kenneth - OK I see Shannon Moore as the jobber here though that will mean 2 matches for both Chavo and Kenneth at the Rumble. Loved Kenneth slapping Shannon. Good disrespectful stuff. 3 Amigos! Even though he doesn't do it nearly as well as Eddie did (or even Homicide) I still like it. Woohoo! Northern Lights Suplex! One of my favorite moves! I marked. [Japanese Announcer]Bwainbusta!!!![/Japanese Announcer] (though in Japan any Vertical Suplex is called a Brainbuster). Chavo wins with the Frog Splash (I like the Gory Special better but Frog Splash is good too). Moore loses as expected.

Woohoo! Armando Promo! [tangent]Armando is f'n ripped!!![/tangent] Armando is gold on the mic as usual.

Oh no, Matt on the mic. Woohoo! It's Cowboy err...Wildcat!

Matt Version 1.0 & Wildcat vs. MVP & Gold Standard - Yes! Delayed Vertical Suplex! Woohoo! Catatonic! Yes! Side Effect (I actually like that move way more than the Twist of Fate). Matt wins with the Twist of Fate which is good for his push. You made Wildcat look good early on too.

Lena "Why is she on TV?" Yada interviewing The Rated R Superstar. Edge is awesome as usual. Whoa!? Michael Shane!

U-Manga vs. Taker - This is basically no DQ so I'm expecting craziness. Missed Wrecking Ball as expected. Wow an Overhead Belly to Belly on Taker. Damn that's a Massive Suplex! Yeah baby grab the monitor! Armando smashed Taker with the chair, bad move man. Woohoo my boy U-Manga wins dirty baby!!! Taker got his revenge after the match though. Still a win for my boy over Taker!!!

HBK vs. Edge - I don't see HBK losing the title. Maybe a DQ or no contest. Yeah baby, Edgecution! HBK goes Stone Cold style with the Thesz Press! Haha! Yes! HBK with the Sharpshooter! Totally rubbing it in the Canadian fans' faces!!! LOL at Edge still getting love from the crowd even after the crap he talked earlier. Canadians will always hate HBK, ALWAYS! Yes, Inverted Atomic Drop! HBK classic. Batista causes Edge to win by DQ. Now both he and HBK will be pissed at him (probably) Triple Threat coming? Yep

Very good show. Some awesome promos from Miz, Edge, Armando Alejandro Estrada, and MVP. The ending in the main event was the way to go. U-Manga vs. Taker was MOTN for me because well my boy U-Manga won! I'm not too excited about Chavo and Kenneth pulling double duty at the Rumble but it's OK. They will probably eliminate each other.

BREAKING NEWS - WWE STARS RE-SIGN

We have just received word following up from our prior report last week that the WWE have agreed contracts with a number of previous superstars in regards to a return to the company. The Big Show, A-Train, Marcus Cor Von, Eugene and Billy Kidman have all signed new deals with the company.

It is not known when they will return on screen, but it is most likely that they will do so after Wrestlemania. Giant Bernard does have some dates to finish in Japan before his return while the others are available right now. There is also talk of bringing in Ken Shamrock for a short period as he believes he is in the best shape of his life for a long time, and is still on good terms with the company.

It is also known that the WWE are desperately trying to persuade Rob Van Dam to resign with the company. It appears that he only signed a six month contract with TNA back in September and will be free to return to the WWE in April, right after Wrestlemania. RVD is said to have been using TNA to get a better contract with the WWE, and it appears that his plan may be working.

More updates to follow.

Hmmm, some very nice people making it back into the company. Not sure about Eugene. I love the character but it might be a bit late to bring him back unless you tweak his gimmick a little bit. However I'll be looking forward to the returns. Also Van Dam would be a fantastic addition to the roster, which always seems to be strenghtening.

Awesome news. RVD and The Big Show are the biggest signings no doubt, and it'll be interesting to see which brand you place them on.

I think Ken Shamrock might just be a rumour.

This news is fantastic, Nige, some great signings, although I feel it was un-neccessary to re-sign Eugene, I'm not a fan of his. Rob Van Dam returning would be awesome, I hope he comes back.

-TR™-'s SmackDown Feedback

Well, this occasion was always going to be overshadowed with controversy, from the moment Edge arrived. Shawn Michaels' character as a heel was perfect, you should consider a full-time turn for HBK in the near future. I normally get bored of Batista, but he was actually decent in this segment. I really didn't expect Edge to turn on his Canadian fans, but you reverted his character wonderfully. A truly blockbuster match made for tonight's Main Event, I'm looking forward to seeing the result of HBK-Edge. Also, a very controversial line to cap off the segment courtesy of Shawn Michaels, well done, Nige. 10/10

John Morrison's character wasn't too impressive from my perspective in this segment, but you did well with The Miz's character. The Fatal Four-Way Tag Team match later on looks incredibly promising, I can hardly wait for it. 7/10

Decent opening match between Drew McIntyre and Chris Masters, I'm not really a big fan of either of them, but I enjoyed reading this match, and they're two promising, young Superstars. Out of the two, I would prefer Chris Masters to go to the Royal Rumble match, and I'm glad he's going to Madison Square Garden. 8/10

Very nice William Regal-Kenny Dykstra segment, you've booked Kenny Dykstra's push magnificently from my perspective. The triple-threat match sounds good to me, I'm wondering who the third man in the match will be to **** Dykstra and Chavo Guerrero. 8/10

A truly brilliant Fatal Four-Way Tag Team match, Nige, it lived up to my expectations. You've revitalised the Tag Team division incredibly well, you've done a great job in that aspect. Good to see John Morrison and The Miz win the match, I'm firmly behind them going into The Royal Rumble. 9/10

Solid MVP-Shelton Benjamin promo, both Benjamin and MVP's characters were outstanding. I actually think these two would make a pretty enjoyable Tag Team to watch, maybe an idea for the future? Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to the Tag Team match later on, who will Matt Hardy's partner be? 10/10

Awesome triple-threat match, although Shannon Moore wasn't my ideal third competitor in this match, but the moment he was revealed as the final competitor, Kenny Dykstra and Chavo Guerrero's places were already booked in The Royal Rumble Match. I'm relieved that Guerrero and Dykstra are going to The Royal Rumble, good work. 8/10

Great Umaga segment, Umaga gets pushed as a heel a lot better with Armando Estrada by his side. Estrada, as usual, was fantastic and you fitted him into his character really well. I'm really looking forward to finding out the conclusion of Umaga's First Blood match with The Undertaker, although I would rather have seen a Last Ride Match instead. 9/10

I'm thrilled, and relieved, to see Chris Harris make his SmackDown debut, I've been waiting for this moment for a while now. You made Chris Harris look very strong for his debut Match, which is great and it will contribute greatly to putting him over as an established SmackDown Superstar. Matt Hardy's push has been awesome too, brilliant work, Nige. 10/10

Wonderful Edge Interview, fantastic idea bringing Shawn Michael's cousin, Michael Shane, into the equation. This makes me more excited to see the Edge-Shawn Michaels World Heavyweight Championship match later on tonight. 9/10

The Undertaker-Umaga feud has been sensational so far, and it's one of the main factors in myself reading all of your shows in this BTB. Solid First Blood match, Armando Estrada intervening was golden, and I'm surprised that Umaga pulled out a victory over The Deadman. I knew that The Undertaker wouldn't leave it at that, and he certainly didn't. Great match, 10/10

Tonight's Main Event certainly lived up to the hype, and it was spectacular to behold. Very controversial with Shawn Michaels locking in the Sharpshooter, reminiscent of Survivor Series 1997. The DQ Finish was great, and a fantastic match made by William Regal for The Royal Rumble, Shawn Michaels defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Edge and The Undertakern sounds brilliant to me. 10/10
