Default Re: WWE: A Strong Response

Opening Promo
Randy Orton was his usual cocky self and nobody gets heat from the crowd better than RKO. Good idea to use Punk infront of his home crowd, but I think he should have been involved in a match to keep the crowd happy.

8 man tag
Good match to use up a bit of time, but I would have liked to see Cade and Murdoch steal the win by distracting the ref rather than the other way round.

McMahon/HHH promo
Good promo to set up the main event and keeping Trips out of the title picture for a while could be a good idea.

Kennedy v Hardy
I'm a big fan of Kennedy and am interested to see what you do with him. An intercontinental title run could be good for him.

ECW promo
Another use of Punk to satisfy the crowd, don't quite think Morrison is ready for the Raw title picture just yet.

Santino/Maria promo
Any promo that contains the divas is good, and a good use of Santino's character as well.

Rhodes v Carlito
A big win for Codey in this one, and a feud with Carlito could really help his career. Not sure what it will do for Carlito though, who I think should be in the IC title picture.

Burke promo
Two good superstars to boost Burke's ratings, but I wouldn't like to see this feud go on for too long as I think Burke is better than that.

Womens Battle Royal
The divas seemed to be eliminated in the order that you'd expect. The Mickie/Beth feud should be good, but I would expect Victoria to have something to say.

Kennedy/Regal/Vince promo
Poor little Horny getting knocked over. Good to see Kennedy get his title match, but you don't cross the boss.

HHH/Umaga
Superb main event, and a good heel win for Umaga. The appearance of Orton seems to indicate a HHH title feud.

Overall
A good first show with good use of the main characters. The feuds that were used look strong and could indicate some good storylines in the future.

7/10 - Keep it up mate!!!

Rhodes is looking good and I think he will be in the IC title hunt

Burke promo

Overall

Hey Nige, I just wanted to say welcome back and good luck with this I think it should be good.

Heyman Deciple's RAW REVIEW

Orton-Punk-Vince: Good opening segment especially just coming off the pay per view with Randy Orton gloating about the fact that he's the WWE champion and then out comes CM Punk for a confrontation with Randy Orton. Good stuff.

8 Man Tag: This was a solid match and a nice win for Kendrick, London, Dreamer, and Stevie. Plus I really liked that Tommy Dreamer got deciding pinfall for his team.

Vince-Triple H: Solid segment here with Triple H obviously upset over at what happened at No Mercy and this set up the No Disqualification match between Triple H and Umaga later in the show.

Hardy vs. Kennedy: Solid promo from Mr. Kennedy leading into the match. The match itself was good and I was really happy with Mr. Kennedy getting the win.

Punk-Morrison: This was good as Punk along with Dreamer and Richards are confronted by John Morrison. I liked how Morrison was being all cocky and was then kinda put in his place by Punk and Tommy Dreamer.

Maria-Santino-Torrie: This was great, as Santino talked to Maria as she was getting ready for the Divas battle royal he then starts hitting on Torrie Wilson, she turns him down and he bumps into her knocking her down. This was really good and sets up Santino as a really good heel.

Cody vs. Carlito: This was a nice upset win for Cody over Carlito and I really enjoyed what happened after the match with Carlito leaving Cody laying.

Burke-Val & Duggan: This I found to be very entertaining as Elijah Burke is great as the superior arrogant heel.

Orton Interview: Solid Interview here with Randy Orton as we get his thoughts on the possibilities for Cyber Sunday.

Divas Battle Royal: This featured some solid Divas action and it was great to see Mickie James pick up the win, even though when it was over she was attacked and hit with the Widows peak by Victoria.

Kennedy-Regal-Hornswaggle-Vince: Kennedy knocking over Hornswaggle and his reaction to it was just great. Kennedy rules.

Triple H vs. Umaga: Good main event with Umaga picking up the win with some help from Randy Orton.

This was a good show, I give it 7 out of 10.

Match 1: 7/10. Average match, dont think the Highlanders needed to be there.
Match 2: 8.5/10. Was a good match, typical aftermath. I loved the finish (Kenton Bomb, knees. L.O.F, knees. pin.)
Match 3: 8/10. Liked the match, im a fan of Cody Rhodes. It was a good finish for Carlito, really fits his character. Also nice for Cody to get some more fans.
Match 4: 7/10. Not bad, i smell a triple threat, would be good. Divas have too many 1v1.
Match 5: 8/10. Enjoyed the finish.. but its leading to say that there is something HHH can(will) do about Randy being champ.

Hello Nige, I said I would review so ...

D-K-L's Raw Review

Opening promo:
This was a good way to start the show. Orton seemed very much in character as he was his usual cocky self. I like 'the champ is here' comment. Punk coming out was good since it's in illinois, it would come off well IRL. The announcement by VM was good but I was quite suprised that Punk was given an automatic title shot, I think he deserves it and it would of been a good match to have in his home town. I don't know if Punk will win the vote since HHH might be involved, but I just read that we decide, so Punk might have a chance afterall.

8-man tag:
This seemed like a good match. Dreamer and Richards could be getting a push now which would be interesting. We might see them at Cyber Sunday maybe with soem sort of extreme match? It's good seeing them on teh roster as Raw needs more teams.

Vince/HHH segment:
This was a good, intense segment here. I don't know where this HHH/Vince stroy is going but I wouldn't be suprised if they had another match. HHH/Umaga should be good.

Jeff vs. Kennedy:
This seemed like a good match too. Kennedy getting the win is a good way to continue the feud. Kennedy is on top now and I can see him going on to win the title.

Punk/Morrison/Dreamer seg:
This was good too. If Punk doesn't win the vote I can see him continuing a rivalry with Morrison, which would be good as they can put on some great matches.

Santino/Torrie:
This was OK but slightly strange, it is obviously going somewhere though. I wouldn't be suprised if he goes around the whole diva roster or something.I don't really know how Torrie could get him back on her own. I'm a big fan of Marrella as a heel so it's good to see him being used.

Carlito vs. Rhodes:
This was another decent match. It was a good ending with the sunset flip, and a good way to get an upset. Carlito attacking Cody at the end will surely lead to anotehr match which should be good. I can see Rhodes getting a decent push in the coming weeks and Carlito is a good guy to put Rhodes over.

Burke segment:
This was short, but good. It's a good and simpel way to build a feud. Burke is one of my favourites so I can only hope this will lead up to a squash. Hopefully Burke will do well on Raw, but for now a midcard feud is good for him.

Orton interview:
This was good also, he continued boasting and was in character. What he had to say about HHH was good.

Divas battle royal:
It was a good as it can be really. I was hoping that Victoria picked up the win, but with the champ being a heel, it's good booking. Victoria attacking Mickie is a bit strange, so it will be interesting to see what happens from here.

Kennedy/Vince/Hornswaggle:
Another interesting segment. I think it's leading up to something but I don't know what.

HHH vs. Umaga:
You may have got some stick for having Umaga beat HHH, but I think it's good. Having Orton come down was a good way to keep their fued going and having Umaga win keeps his rep up.

Overall:
This was a good show mate. The only dissapointment for me is that it might of been good to see Punk have a match, possibly involving Orton since it's in his home town.

Another good thing is that a lot of your superstars are involved in many different storylines which keeps us guessing. For example Vince - HHH/Kennedy/Hornswaggle, Orton - Punk/HHH, Punk - Morrison/Orton.

Also it might be good to have a bit more detail with matches and promos, but since it's in recap form it is understandable.

Good show and i'm looking forward to Cyber Sunday already, keep it up mate!

Default WWE.com - Television - Smackdown Preview (12th October 2007)

SMACKDOWN PREVIEW (12th October)

Allstate Arena
Rosemount, Illinois

WHO’S THE NEW GM?
Earlier in the week, we found out that Vickie Guerrero had left her role as Smackdown General Manager due to family issues, and with Teddy Long still recovering from a heart attack during his wedding to Kristal a few weeks ago, Smackdown finds itself without a General Manager. With ECW now on the shelf, could Armando Alejandro Estrada find himself in charge or will we see someone else take over the reigns? Only time will tell.

BATISTA ESCAPES THE PRISON WITH THE GOLD
For the second straight month, Batista was able to overcome the almost unstoppable force that is The Great Khali, only this time he did it inside Khali’s home, The Punjabi Prison. Batista was able to retain his World Heavyweight Championship in the process, but surely The Great Khali will have some kind of response for The Animal when Smackdown comes to Rosemount this Friday night, or has The Animal finally put pay to the Indian Warrior?

FINLAY’S SICKENING ATTACK
Finlay has unleashed some horrific attacks in his time, but what happened at No Mercy on Sunday night was just despicable. After feigning injury in his match with Rey Mysterio, he was put onto a stretcher and was on his way to the back when to everyone’s surprise, he jumped off the stretcher and proceeded to beat the hell out of Mysterio. No one knows what condition Mysterio is in and with no General Manager in place, it seems that Finlay has got away with this hideous attack.

MATT & MVP AT BOILING POINT
Matt Hardy & Montel Vontavious Porter are arguably the most unlikely Tag Team Champions of all time, but somehow they have managed to hold onto their titles over the last month. However, it seems that the tension has built up between them yet again and it seems that the pair are due to explode anytime soon, but will they manage to patch things up this Friday night?

FORMER ECW STARS TO DEBUT
Monday was another dark day for ECW as it again went out of business. However, the superstars of ECW found themselves in luck as they were split across both Raw and Smackdown. Several of them had a successful time on Raw Monday night, will that be the same case when the likes of Big Daddy V and Kevin Thorn come to Smackdown this week?

CONFIRMED FOR SMACKDOWN THIS FRIDAY NIGHT

Jimmy Wang Yang vs Finlay

Super Crazy & Shannon Moore vs Jamie Noble & Kenny Dykstra

I hope that Estrada doesn't really become the GM of SmackDown. Estrada should go to RAW to manage Umaga, who without a manager really doesn't look good in my opinion. Anyway, I'm interested to know who is going to be the new GM of SmackDown though. Probably Steph? Shane? Um, I don't know. Let's find out I guess.

Lets just hope that you take out The Great Khali, and have Batista feud with someone else. Great Khali doesn't interest me so I hope you take him out or this feud will get stale to me.

Finlay/Mysterio storyline looks good too. I think that Mysterio will come back. I could be wrong though. But lets see, and also lets see how you handle the MVP/Matt Hardy situation. Everything else looks fine too. I'll be reading SmackDown.

It's great to get a lot of enthusiasm and comments from a well respected booker like yourself. All your comments are very fair and i hope that you will enjoy the show when it is posted on Thursday. The GM role will certainly cause some controversy

Alim's Raw Review

Sorry for the lateness, been busy with homework, school, etc. Let's see if you got any booking rust from your last thread.

The opening promo had some anticipation, because usually after the night after a ppv, a new number one contender is announced, or some new matches, and that's exactly what happened. Orton coming out, and mocking Cena was pretty good, but I don't understand why Hulk Hogan was mentioned. CM Punk coming out was a no brainer, since Raw is in his hometown of Chicago. I'm glad to see you used the ECW title somewhat to bring Punk into a feud with Orton. Him not having a match sucks, but it's understandable seeing as how Vince McMahon is like that.

The 8 man tag match was pretty good. Richards are Dreamer are a bit odd, randomly teaming up with London and Kendrick, but I guess you had to feature some of the now extinct ECW on your show. Could this mean a somewhat push for Tommy Dreamer, Steven Richards, and Londrick? We'll see.

Good promo by Triple H and Vince McMahon. They both seemed in character, and Triple H seemed to be spot on. One thing, I think Triple H would have asked for another title shot, instead of just having a match with Umaga. No disqualifications, should be good, and I expect interference.

Really, really solid promo by Kennedy. I love writing him, and I sure hope you do too. He stated his message, loud and clear, and he wants the IC gold. Match itself, meh. Summary was kind of short for my liking, and didn't really explain much.

Pretty not bad promo. Morrison seemed on and off, Punk seemed pretty spot on characters. This definatly sparks up some heat, and maybe an upcoming feud between these four. Steven Richards didn't serve a purpose here though.

Hahahahah! Santino promos are awesome, this one wasn't an exception. The guy is hilarious, and I think you did a good job on getting some good heat from the crowd. I don't suspect anything here, but the diva battle royal should be good.

I'm not a fan of Cody Rhodes to be honest. Him getting a win over Carlito is half and half. One on side, it's bad because I think Carlito is a great talent, and is overlooked by a lot of people, and him losing to a rookie doesn't help much. On the other hand, we have Cody Rhodes getting a victory over a former IC champion, could gain some credibility there.

I hate Hacksaw Jim Duggan. He wasn't anything special twenty years ago, and he isn't now. I hope Elijah Burke gets rid of him. Good to see Val Venis get some airtime though.

Another great promo. Orton seemed in character, but I prefer the opening promo over this one. Like the others, with this promo, it's pretty much confirmed Triple H will be added to the Cyber Sunday poll for who to face Orton.

Really happy Mickie James won the battle royal. The feud between her and Beth Pheonix, I've been waiting for it ever since Beth debuted in the WWE. Aftermath was weird though, possibily a three way title feud with Victoria? That's even better.

The Kennedy/Regal/Hornswoggle/McMahon promo was a bit confusing. Glad to see Kennedy/Hardy is confirmed for the IC title at Cyber Sunday, with us picking the stipulations. The part I didn't get was when Hornswoggle entered, then Vince entering, and saying something to Kennedy. Maybe this could mean you're bringing back the bastard son storyline, and Kennedy turns out to be the real son?

Umaga getting a win over Triple H?! That was definatly a shocker. I was expecting McMahon to run in, but I guess not. This confirms Triple H in the voting, and possibily Umaga too. I was kind of hoping for CM Punk to also run in to help Triple H, but I guess you're probably saving it.

Overall, the show was good. I enjoyed your promos, and most of your matches. Cyber Sunday is shaping up to be great, good luck!
