Great news Nige. The 15th anniversary show is looking impressive already. Glad Austin will be making it. I'm not too hot on the new signings but I'll see how you go with them.

HBK MAKES A STAND
Last week in what was Edge’s last chance at the World Heavyweight Championship as long as Batista is champion, it all went wrong for the Rated R Superstar as his mouth and failed promises cost him what he so wrongfully thinks is still his. After bringing Umaga to Smackdown from Raw, Edge was faced by Armando Estrada last week and reminded him of the plan to make Umaga the World Champion when he switched brands. Edge basically told Estrada to take a hike, and boy did that haunt him as Umaga made his presence felt when he attacked Batista just as looked Edge was about to reclaim the title, getting Edge disqualified. Not only did Umaga take Batista apart, he went for Edge too, until one man stood up in the face of adversity as he charged to the ring and stood face to face with the Samoan Bulldozer. The Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels proved he still has plenty left in the tank as he dealt with Umaga before standing tall as Smackdown came to an end last week while The Animal rose, looking confused by what he had missed.

REAP WHAT YOU WILL
Last week as punishment for their actions the week before, The Miz and John Morrison were put into a handicap match against The Undertaker. However, Edge’s stooges didn’t let the dead man get on top as they got themselves disqualified in a hurry, but they didn’t count on Kevin Thorn rushing down to fight the loud mouth’s off. With the uneasy looks and seeming mutual respect between Thorn and The Undertaker, it now looks that they find themselves on the same page. And this week the unlikely duo will meet Morrison and Miz in tag team action in an effort to teach the youngsters a lesson.

CAGE BATTLE IS ON
After months and months of arguments, we found out last week from William Regal that at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Matt Hardy and Montel Vontavious Porter will go at it inside a twenty foot high steel cage for the United States Championship. Matt defeated his arch rival at the Survivor Series five nights earlier and this was enough to convince Smackdown’s GM to set this un-missable match up. This Friday night, MVP is throwing the doors open to his VIP Lounge as he will in no doubt attempt to make his case for the highly anticipated match up.

DYKSTRA HANGS ON. . . JUST
Kenny Dykstra sure demonstrated at the Survivor Series that he was able to outlast seven others to be crowned the new Cruiserweight Champion, but last Friday, he also showed us that he was able to run his mouth pretty well too. It all got too much for Matt Sydal, the man who Dykstra eliminated last in controversial finish to claim the title at the Survivor Series just nights before. Sydal challenged Dykstra to put his money where his mouth was, and with William Regal’s direction, the two battled it out there and then. If Sydal was victorious, he would receive a title match this week, but Dykstra just saved himself as he held on to Sydal’s foot for dear life, resulting in a double count out. What is the situation now? Has Sydal done enough despite winning, or will he get a second chance at the cocky champion?

TAG CHAMPS BACK TO NORMAL?
After being made fools of by The UK Pack for over a month, it seemed that at the Survivor Series, The World’s Greatest Tag Team got themselves back on track as along with Chris Masters, they defeated the very same trio that had gained impressive wins over them in the build up to the show. And after getting that win, they had the chance to prove why they are the WWE Tag Team Champions, but after claiming that they got the win when it mattered Sunday night, they appeared to let their guard down again as Paul Burchill and Harry Smith picked up another victory at the champion’s expense, but what happens now for the complacent champions?

CONFIRMED FOR THIS WEEK ON SMACKDOWN

The Undertaker & Kevin Thorn vs. John Morrison & The Miz

Super Crazy
vs. Jamie Noble

No, the matches will be in extensive recap. Promo's in full, matches will be like my Cyber Sunday PPV, around 1500 words. I

***VIDEO RECAP***

From Last week

• Edge challenging Batista for his World Heavyweight Championship
• Regal telling Edge that it would be his last chance if he lost the match
• Edge & Estrada in Edge’s locker room with Edge telling Estrada to get the hell out of his way after Estrada told Edge to give the match to Umaga
• Edge setting Batista up for the spear until Umaga runs down and attacks Batista, costing Edge the match by DQ
• Edge going for Umaga but falling short as Shawn Michaels then runs down the aisle and takes out Umaga
• Michaels posing for the crowd on the second rope until he stands down and stares at Batista as he stands back up

***OPENING VIDEO***
“Rise Up”

“Metalingus” blasts out straight away as Edge makes his way down the aisle, looking totally pissed off

***HEAT***

Edge:
You know I’ve not come out here to bore you all about everything that happened last week, I’m just gonna cut to the chase and tell it how it is, and that is that last week I got screwed

***POP***

Edge:
That’s it, laugh. Laugh all you want but it doesn’t change the fact that we still have a fraud wearing my World Heavyweight title

***HEAT***

Edge:
And I’m just expected to come back here this week and put up with the fact that I got screwed over like no one else in the history of this whole damn business. . . Well I’m telling you all now. Batista, William Regal, Umaga and Armando Estrada, you might have thought that you cost me my first and final one on one rematch for my title that I NEVER LOST. . . That’s right, the title I never lost. How the hell can that be fair huh? One rematch one on one and I lose thanks to some overweight ape coming down here and jumping on my opponent. Well I’m making a stand right here right now until William Regal gives me what I deserve, and that is a fair shot at MY WORLD TITLE. . .

***HEAT***

Edge waits several seconds for Regal to come down, but it doesn’t happen

Edge:
Don’t think I won’t stay out here all night Regal, I’m more than happy to wreck this whole show, just like you did last week by allowing that whole sham of a decision to stand. . . Come on Regal, I’m not going anywhere, now get your ass down here and give me just what the hell I deserve before I. . .

“Sexy Boy” blasts out as Shawn Michaels walks out to a thunderous reception from the sell out crowd

Edge looks on in sheer anger and doesn’t wait for Michaels to get a mic as he steps through the ropes

Edge:
And what the hell are you doing out here Michaels? This has got nothing to do with you unless you can give me what I want

Michaels collects the mic from Justin Roberts and walks to the centre of the ring

Shawn Michaels:
Edge, I’m sorry but I can’t give you what you want, but I’m out here to give these people what they want. . . And that’s to tell you to shut that busy mouth of yours. . .

***POP***

Edge:
Oh wow, look it’s the have a go hero yet again here to save us all. So Mr. Saviour, how are you going to save us all tonight huh? You know, you’re a bigger fraud than Batista. You came back here with this whole damn saviour crap, but what happened at the Survivor Series huh Shawn? . . . Oh yeah, that’s right, you and your team lost to Randy Orton

***HEAT***

Edge:
Now correct me if I’m wrong Shawn, but that wasn’t the plan was it? You thought you’d walk back in here and become the overnight success story that you think you are and take all the attention away from everyone else. Well let me tell you this Shawn, that’s not how it goes on Smackdown, no way. Because on Smackdown there is only one star, and that star is the Rated R Superstar and you could never take the attention away from me

***MAJOR HEAT***

Shawn just smirks

Shawn Michaels:
Is that it? Are you done? Cos quite frankly, I’m already sick and tired of having to listen to you come out here and fill these people’s heads with crap every damn week

***POP***

Shawn Michaels:
You might think you’re the biggest star around here, you might think that someone else is wearing your title, and you might think you got screwed last week, but hand on heart Edge, you’ve got to admit to the truth and that was last week, you just weren’t good enough

***BIG POP***

Edge:
Yeah and what the hell has it got to do with you huh? . . . Well you’re lucky cos I’m gonna tell ya. It’s got jack to do with you Shawn, so you can save your little speech for someone who actually gives a rat’s ass. So go sit back there like a good little boy and let me get on with what I came out here to do

***HEAT***

Shawn Michaels:
Woah Edge, that’s where you’re wrong because it has everything to do with me. See when you lost, got screwed or whatever happened last week, it left a number one contenders spot wide open for everyone else here on Smackdown. And I know I’ve not been here long, but I don’t see anyone more capable than the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels

***BIG POP***

Edge:
Oh what a surprise, always doing himself a favour when it looks like he’s helping someone else. Is that what last week was all about huh, when you ran down and here stopped Umaga taking Batista apart huh? You just wanted to come out here and show everyone you want to be World Heavyweight Champion. If you think I have a problem with Batista being the World Champion, you haven’t got a clue what I think about you holding that title Shawn. It makes my blood boil. It makes me sick to the stomach that someone who’s been around here five minutes can get a shot at what everyone knows belongs to me

***HEAT***

Shawn Michaels:
Well quite frankly Edge, the way I see it is if the World title belonged to you, it would be around your waist right now but it’s not. . . Look, we’ve had our problems in the past and we’ve beat the hell out of each other more times than I can remember, but that will be nothing if you think you’re gonna stand in the way of the show stopper getting a shot at becoming the World Heavyweight Champion

***POP***

Shawn Michaels:
Now I’m a nice guy Edge and I can see that what happened last week was a little, how we say, controversial, and I know controversial, believe me. But I’m willing to throw you a lifeline. . . See I can understand how you think you got robbed last week, and I agree it wasn’t exactly fair for you to miss out on getting another title shot, but I have an idea I think all these people, as well as you are going to like. And that would see right here tonight, Edge versus Shawn Michaels for the number one contenders spot

***HUGE POP***

Edge:
Shawn, that’s all well and good, but you know I can’t decide that, hell if I would, you know what would happen and that’s why you’re saying it. You know that if I was allowed to face you tonight, I would put you back in the retirement home you crawled out of a month ago

***HEAT***

Shawn is about to respond when. . .

“Born Naughty” hits as William regal walks out to the entrance with a microphone in hand

***HEAT***

William Regal:
Gentleman, I believe that we can come to a reasonable solution here. . . Now Edge, you are correct, you would not be able to face Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship based on what happened last week, but it appears to me that you have learnt your lesson somewhat. Yes you were right when you said you couldn’t make the decision on the match that Mr. Michaels proposed, but I can. And based on that Edge and what happened last week, I will take all of what I have heard tonight and take it into consideration. And later on tonight, I will let you know what I decide to do on this matter. . . Now I’d appreciate it if you both let that ring and we can get on with the bloody show

“Born Naughty” hits again as Edge and Michaels stare at each other as we go to our first commercial break

***COMMERCIAL BREAK***

“Superstar Fallin” hits as Kenny Dykstra walks down to the ring with a smug smile on his face

***HEAT***

Kenny Dykstra:
When I said last week that I could challenge any cruiserweight around here, I was right. It wasn’t just the confidence talking because I proved my status as a future hall of famer at the Survivor Series by outlasting all seven men to become the new Cruiserweight Champion, but because I am the greatest superstar on the face of this planet

***HEAT***

Kenny Dykstra:
All credit to Matt Sydal, he gave it his all last week, but it didn’t live up to the standards that I Kenny Dykstra set as the benchmark for all the cruiserweights in the WWE, and that’s why I stand here right now with this title over my shoulder

***HEAT***

Kenny Dykstra:
You know, some people might see it as being arrogant, but I don’t, it’s just confidence. And I’m so confident that I’m going to do what I did last week and issue an open challenge to any cruiserweight in the back who has the self belief to step up to the level I have taken this division to in less than two weeks. . . I know you all must be a little intimidated, but please don’t feel scared about being embar. . .

“Chavo Ardiente” hits as Chavo Guerrero walks out to the aisle with a microphone in hand, getting a mixed reception, but mainly boos as Dykstra looks on shocked that Chavo is stood there

Chavo Guerrero: Did you say you wanted a challenge kid? You want someone to step up to your level?

Kenny Dykstra: Yeah, but Chavo. . .

Chavo Guerrero: . . . Shut up. . . I accept, and let’s find out if you can step up to the level of a Guerrero

***POP***

***OPENING MATCH***

NON TITLE MATCH
Chavo Guerrero vs. Kenny Dykstra

SUMMARY:
A real back and forth match. Chavo was taking control as the match went on and just as he was about to set Dykstra up for a brain buster, Kenny was able to escape and slipped behind Chavo, then pushed him into the ropes and was able to hit a perfectly executed standing dropkick. Chavo dropped to the mat, but it took Kenny a good few seconds to get back up as he then walked over to the corner and climbed to the top rope. He then spent nearly five seconds on the top, gesturing to the crowd before leaping off for the SKY HIGH LEG DROP. . . Chavo rolls to the side as Kenny’s legs hit the mat. It then takes Chavo nearly ten seconds before he is able to stand up and walk over to the corner, then climbing to the top rope. As he’s about to stand up on the top, Dykstra sits up and pushes the referee into the ropes, knocking Chavo back down to the mat. Kenny sits up, then stands up as the ref then walks over to him and warns him, but Dykstra just pushes him to the side again, forcing the ref to call for the bell.

AFTERMATH: As Chavo starts to stand up, Kenny walks over and plants him with a ROLLING CUTTER. . . There’s a ton of heat as Kenny then slides under the bottom rope, collects his belt from ringside and starts to walk to the back with a smirk on his face as he looks back at Chavo on the mat in the ring

***COMMERCIAL BREAK***

William Regal is in his office, sat down on a leather sofa, thinking when there’s a knock at the door, making him look up

William Regal: Come in

Matt Sydal walks in and Regal stands up

***POP***

William Regal:
Good evening young man, what can I do for you?

Matt Sydal: Well it’s about what happened last week. I saw what Edge said about he got a rough deal last week and how you’re going to take it into consideration. Well I thought that after what happened with me and Kenny Dykstra last week in our match and it being a double count out, maybe you could give me a rematch too

***POP***

William Regal:
You know I had a feeling you might pop by tonight. . . I did see what happened in your match last week, and it was unfortunate, but the result has to stand I’m afraid. See I did say you had to win the match to get yourself a title opportunity, and even though you didn’t lose, you didn’t win either

Sydal looks a little disappointed

Matt Sydal:
Well thanks anyway man

He turns round to leave the room when Regal seems to have a brainwave

William Regal: You know what, I have an idea. . . I can see you have a lot of talent Matthew, and you obviously have a lot of respect by coming here politely to see me. So what I’m going to do is this. . . Right here tonight, you and your good friend Jonathan. . . sorry I can’t remember his surname

Matt Sydal: Jeter, Jonny Jeter

William Regal: That’s it yes. Well what I’m going to do is make a match with you and Jonathan taking on the WWE Tag Team Champions right here tonight with the titles on the line. How does that sound?

***POP***

Matt Sydal:
Oh dude, that’s awesome. Thanks man, you won’t regret it

William Regal: Well you’re very welcome

Sydal smiles as he then leaves, Armando Estrada walks past him and into the room

***HEAT***

William Regal:
What on earth are you doing here? Do you have any idea of the stress you’ve put me under after you and U-manga ran riot last week? . . . I hope you have a bloody good explanation for all this

Armando Estrada (In his Cuban accent): I came here to check dat ju are not going to listen to what dat punk Edge said tonight about getting a rematch for the World Championship

William Regal: Well if you and U-manga hadn’t have got involved last week, then this wouldn’t have been such a bloody problem

Armando Estrada: Well if ju are going to give Edge a chance to become number one contender, den Umaga should have a chance too

William Regal: Oh yes, says who? . . . Look here you ignorant pillock, I run this show and I am not going to let you or that bloody great big bulldozer of yours do whatever the hell you feel like doing every week. . . So I am going to make two matches that will see both winners meet for the right to be the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, and tonight Edge will get his chance when he faces Shawn Michaels in the main event

***BIG POP***

William Regal:
And as for U-manga. . .

Armando Estrada: . . . His name is Umaga

William Regal: Well whatever his bloody name is will have a match next week and if he wins he will face either Shawn Michaels or Edge to determine who will challenge Batista at Saturday Night’s Main Event

Armando Estrada: Well it seems we have no problem den Mr. Regal. . . Out of how ju say, curiosity, who will Umaga’s opponent be?

William Regal: See I thought you might like that. . . Next week U-manga will go one on one with The Undertaker

***POP***

Estrada looks shocked as Regal smiles very smugly and sits back down as Estrada then turns round and walks out of the room, still looking gob smacked

***CUT TO THE ARENA***

***MATCH #2***

Super Crazy vs. Jamie Noble

SUMMARY:
A fairly quick paced match up with Noble trying to slow it down with some submission moves, but as the match went on, Crazy got back into it. Reversing an irish whip, he then connected with a dropsault to Noble. With the crowd firmly on his side, Crazy got back up, followed by Noble, but Crazy then ran to the ropes and hit a SPRINGBOARD CROSS BODY. . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . Kick out from Noble, but as both men get back up, Crazy goes for an irish whip, but this time it’s Noble who reverses it and as Crazy comes back, he plants him with a TILT A WHIRL BACK BREAKER. . . Noble then goes for a cover 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . Crazy just gets a shoulder up, pissing Noble off who then stands back up and pulls a groggy looking Crazy up to his feet before putting him between his legs and then hitting him with the TIGER DRIVER. . . Noble drops to the mat and hooks the leg 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3.

AFTERMATH: Noble’s music hits as he stands back up and looks down at Crazy before leaving the ring with a smile on his face

***CUT BACKSTAGE***

Josh Matthews is standing by

Josh Matthews:
Please welcome by guest at this time. . . from the UK Pack, Paul Burchill

***POP***

Josh Matthews:
Paul, we all know that up until the Survivor Series, you along with Harry Smith and Drew McIntyre had more than your fair share of victories against The World’s Greatest Tag Team and Chris Masters. But last week they had a lot to say about their victory at the Survivor Series. . .

Paul Burchill: . . . Yeah Josh, I heard that, every last word in fact. You know, I expect nothing less from those guys, they’re as arrogant as hell and think that they can roll anyone over, any time any place. And if they think by saving themselves for the big occasion as they put it, then fine. But you know what I think Josh. . . As easy as it would be to believe that they’re confident and arrogant about not taking us seriously, I think it’s a cover up for the real reason. That being that they fear us. They know that we’ve beaten them so many times in the last few weeks that they realise we’re a big threat to them, like we proved last week when we beat the WWE Tag Team Champions

Josh Matthews: Well I’m glad you brought that up because I don’t know if you’re aware that right here tonight, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas will be defending their titles against the team of Johnny Jeter and Matt Sydal. What are your thoughts on that?

Paul Burchill: Yeah Josh I heard about that, and I can see why you might think I’d be a little upset about that, but I’m not. . . Yeah maybe we should be first in line after beating them last week, but at the same time we proved that we can beat the tag team champions. You know it wouldn’t be the biggest shock in the world if they think all they have to do tonight is walk out there and they’ll win no matter what, because that’s what Benjamin and Haas are like. They think they really are the greatest tag team in the world and that’s why they’re in danger of losing their titles tonight. And if they do, then they’ll have no choice but to realise just how stupid they are

Josh Matthews: And Paul, if that happens, what does that mean for you and Harry Smith?

Paul Burchill: Like I said earlier Josh, we proved we can beat the tag team champions because we did it last week. And I think most people realise that we can beat them again, whoever wins tonight knows they’re going to be coming across The UK Pack very soon

Burchill smiles before turning round and walking out of the shot

***COMMERCIAL BREAK***

Kenny Dykstra is shown leaving his locker room with his travel bag and in fresh clothes, looking like he’s leaving the arena. As he walks up the corridor and turns round a corner, he bumps into an angry Chavo Guerrero

***POP***

Chavo Guerrero:
What’s up champ?. . . Going somewhere?

Kenny Dykstra: Get out of my way Chavo

Chavo Guerrero: Yeah you’d like that wouldn’t ya, but I’m not some young kid you can push around. . . If you wanna play games with me kid, you picked the wrong guy to mess with because no one lies, cheats and steals better than me. . . You go home, think about that and what you did in that ring tonight, so when you get here next week you know what’s ready and waiting for ya. . . champ

***POP***

Kenny looks a little taken aback as Chavo turns round to walk off, then turns back and smiles as Dykstra then half turns round. Chavo turns back to walk off, but Dykstra drops his bag and paces across to Chavo and clubs him across the back. He then grabs Chavo by the shirt and tosses him into a pile of metal pipes stood up against the wall, and then crouches down so he’s in Chavo’s face

Kenny Dykstra: You might lie, cheat and steal, but maybe you wanna remember who the champ is around here. . . bitch!

***HEAT***

Kenny then stands back up and walks off with a proud smile on his face

***CUT TO THE ARENA***

***MATCH #3***

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Matt Sydal & Johnny Jeter vs. The World’s Greatest Tag Team (c) w/Chris Masters

SUMMARY:
Sydal & Jeter have really taken the match to the champions, putting them on the back foot. As the match comes to the end, Jeter got a tag from Sydal, running in and hitting Haas with a back elbow smash. The crowd really get behind the youngsters as they look to take the titles. Jeter pounces on Haas the minute he gets up by whipping him into the corner, running in and hitting him with a clothesline. As Haas then staggers out of the corner, Jeter grabs his head and sets him up for a DDT, but runs into the corner and connects with a TORNADO DDT. . . Jeter rushes across to cover Haas 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . Shelton rushes in and breaks the cover by stomping Jeter across the back of the head. Sydal then races in and takes Shelton down with a dropkick. Shelton stands up by the ropes as Jeter then knocks him over the top with a clothesline. Shelton lands on his feet as the ref tells Sydal to get back in his corner, but at the same time, Shelton picks up one of the title belts from ringside and slides back in the ring. Just as Jeter stands back up and turns round, Shelton smashes him in the skull with the title belt, which the ref sees and then calls for the bell.

AFTERMATH: Sydal rushes back in the ring and ducks a swing with the belt from Shelton, who drops the belt as Sydal then whips him into the ropes, but from behind, Haas low blows him. Shelton then joins Haas in stomping all over Sydal, but then The UK Pack charge down to the ring. The champs don’t see it, but Masters does from the outside as Burchill, Smith and McIntyre enter the ring, as does Masters, but the UK Pack take them down and to the outside with hard rights and clotheslines. They look on as Shelton, Charlie and Masters all stand up looking angry on the outside

Shawn Michaels is stretching in his locker room when Batista walks in

***POP***

Batista:
HEY, Shawn

Shawn stands up fully

Shawn Michaels:
Big Dave Batista, good to see ya. What brings you here man?

Batista: I heard about your match tonight with Edge and I just thought I’d come by and wish you good luck

Shawn Michaels: Well Dave, I appreciate it and you stopping by

Batista: But Shawn, if I’m honest, that’s not all I came here for. . . Last week, after my World title match with Edge, I wake up and all of a sudden. . . I see you in the ring. . .

Shawn Michaels: Woah, big guy don’t get carried away with what your saw last week. I didn’t run down there for the hell of it or to help you out. To tell you the truth, man to man, I went down to make a point. . . See Dave, I was out of action for a long time, a long time. I had to sit back at home, watching from the sidelines and I said to myself that when I came back that I don’t know how long the show stopper has got left in him. I could come back and get injured, just like that. And that’s when I realised what I wanted if I decided to come back, and come back I have. . . All my career, I’ve set about giving all the people watching out there and around the world, everything I’ve got, night after night, and that’s why I came back, to give these people what they want. . . the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels

***POP***

Batista:
Shawn, I might be getting a little lost here, but what’s that got to do with you coming out to the ring last week?

Shawn Michaels: Dave, Dave, Dave. . . These people don’t just want to see Shawn Michaels back in that ring. . . they want to see Shawn Michaels as the World Heavyweight Champion. . .

***BIG POP***

Shawn Michaels:
And Dave my good man, I’m not going to lie you, I’m not like that. You know that all I want is the chance to entertain these people and prove to myself that I still have what it takes to be the best that this business has ever seen. . . Look big man, I’m telling you like it is. . . I want that World Championship, it wouldn’t have mattered whose shoulder it was on Dave, because I am willing to go through whoever, whenever and however to sail that ship one more time

***POP***

Shawn Michaels:
Dave, it’s nothing personal. I’m doing this for me and. . .

Batista: . . . Shawn look, I’d be more than happy to put this title on the line against you. Hell you’re the show stopper, the main event, the icon. . . Just imagine how many people out there would want to see Shawn Michaels and Batista go at it for the World Heavyweight Championship

***POP***

Batista:
It would be an honour and a privilege to fight you Shawn, but if and when it happens, you know I’m going to give you everything that I have got Shawn. This World title means everything to me and I know you feel the same to understand

Shawn Michaels: I sure do big man, let’s make it happen huh!

Batista: It’s down to you Shawn, there’s nothing I can do

Shawn Michaels: Then sit back and relax because tonight Edge is going to feel what it’s like to taste some sweet chin music

***POP***

From last week when Kevin Thorn saved The Undertaker from the 2 on 1 beat down at the hands of John Morrison & The Miz

***CUT TO THE ARENA***

***MATCH #4***

The Undertaker & Kevin Thorn vs. John Morrison & The Miz

SUMMARY:
Taker and Thorn have had the most part of the match until Morrison was able to work on Thorn’s knee, but Thorn was later able to duck under a clothesline from The Miz and hit a DDT on him, then made the tag to Taker. As Miz stood back up, he turned round into an irish whip and then a big boot from The Undertaker, selling it hard as Morrison then ran in, but was knocked down with an uppercut thrust as Taker then pulled him back up to his feet, whipped him into the corner, followed in and connected with a hard clothesline. As Morrison then stood back up, Taker wrapped his arm around his throat and planted him with a CHOKESLAM. . . Morrison rolls to the outside as Miz then stands back up slowly, then turns round into Taker, who scoops him up into position over his shoulder and plants him with the TOMBSTONE. . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3

AFTERMATH: Before the bell can ring, Umaga paces down to ringside with Estrada behind him and pulls Thorn down off the apron and whips him into the steel steps. He then climbs up onto the apron, but Taker turns his neck quickly, staring at Umaga with Estrada looking on worried. Umaga breathes heavy as Taker stares at him with evil intentions, and after standing on the apron for nearly ten seconds, Umaga then drops back down to the floor as Taker looks on intensely

“I’m Comin” hits as MVP walks down to the ring in a suit with the United States Championship around his waist for the V.I.P. Lounge

***HEAT***

MVP:
By now you all know that at Saturday Night’s Main Event, that I, the greatest United States Champion of all time, Montel Vontavious Porter will be defending this title that I richly deserve against Matt Hardy

***POP***

MVP:
Enjoy the moment while it lasts Springfield, cos it’s not just gonna be an ordinary match, oh no! It’s gonna be a steel cage match

***POP***

MVP:
Just imagine what I’m gonna do to poor Matt Hardy inside that cage. I’m gonna mess him up so bad, you won’t know after if he’s Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy or as ugly as Michael Cole by the time I’m done with Mr. No Hoper. . . And all of you unappreciative fellow no hopers like Matt Hardy had better get used to the idea that by the time Saturday Night’s Main Event is through, that I, Montel Vontavious Porter will still be the United States Champion

***HEAT***

MVP lets the crowd die down for a while before speaking again

MVP:
By all accounts last week, Matt Hardy went crying like a baby to William Regal about how he deserves a shot at my United States title. That’s right Matt, my United States title, not yours. You’re not getting anywhere near my title Matt, you’re not in my league. . . hell you’re not even in the same game as me. This is my title Matt and there’s no chance in hell you’re gonna take this baby away from me Matt. Not just because you don’t even deserve to be in the same damn ring with me, but because Matt, no one and I mean no one can beat M. . . V. . . P

***HEAT***

MVP:
There’s a reason why I carry this title and am the biggest name in this industry. Take a look at what’s standing right here people. . . I am the whole damn franchise and the only person on this planet who can call himself half man, half amazing. And if you don’t believe it, just wait for Saturday Night’s Main Event when I get inside that steel cage and beat the holy hell out of Matt Hardy

***HEAT***

MVP:
You’ve got no choice but to accept it now Matt, just get it through that thick skull of yours. There’s no way you will ever beat me Matt. . . EVER! This title is staying around my waist for a long time yet Matt, believe me. . . You’re not a champion Matt, you never will be, you don’t deserve the chance to be champion, let alone call yourself a champion. You’re a loser Matt, always have been and always will be. The only reason you got brought back was cos everyone feels sorry for ya Matt, after you got dumped and looked like the loser that you are on worldwide television. The ironic thing is Matt, I’m gonna do far worse to you than that at Saturday Night’s Main Event, I’m gonna. . .

“Live for the Moment” blasts out as Matt Hardy walks quickly down to the ring, pulling his shirt off as he walks down the aisle, looking very pissed off

***BIG POP***

MVP:
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOIN OUT HERE?

Matt gets to the security guard at the rail

MVP: Hey, don’t you dare let him in

The security guard doesn’t lift the rope off the rail, telling Matt he’s not allowed in. Matt stops and looks at him for a second before knocking him down with a right hand and then pushing the rail over. He then runs and slides into the ring, met by MVP who stomps at Matt before he can get up. As MVP steps back, Matt pulls himself up by the ropes as MVP then walks back over and throws a right, which is blocked by Matt, who then unleashes some hard right hands to MVP and then knocks him down with a clothesline. The crowd go crazy as Matt then pulls MVP back up to his knees and then tosses him onto the leather sofa before jumping on him and hitting him repeatedly in the head. He then stands off and pushes the sofa over to its side, with MVP falling off it and down to the mat, meeting a huge cheer from the crowd

“Live for the Moment” hits again as Matt just stares down at MVP as he starts to lift his head up, looking angrily towards an intense Matt Hardy

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH
WINNER ADVANCES TO FINAL
Shawn Michaels vs. Edge

SUMMARY:
Michaels and Edge have given it everything for nearly twenty minutes as they look evenly matched. Both men stand back up after they both got knocked down with a mid ring collision. Edge throws a right at Michaels, but it’s blocked and Michaels connects with a succession of rights, putting Edge on the back foot and then goes for an irish whip, but it’s reversed and as Michaels comes back off the ropes, he nails Edge with a flying forearm. The crowd go nuts as Michaels then flips up, and after he pulls Edge back up, he scoop slams him back down to the mat, then walks over to the corner and climbs to the top rope. He looks into the crowd for a second as they eat it up, but as Michaels leaps off for the elbow drop, Edge rolls to the side and Michaels crashes into the canvas. Both men remain on the mat for a good ten seconds before they both stand back up slowly, and as Michaels swings in desperation, Edge ducks underneath it, spins Michaels round, stomps him in the gut and plants him with the EDGECUTION. . . Edge rushes across and hooks the leg 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . Kick out from Michaels as the crowd cheer. Edge sits up and holds his head in his hands for a couple of seconds before standing back up and walking over to the corner, where he stalks Michaels for the spear. With the crowd booing as Michaels slowly gets back up, Edge gets his game face on and then charges at Michaels, who sidesteps it as Edge runs into the corner, hitting the pads chest first. Edge then turns round into a SUPER KICK. . . The roof comes off the arena as Michaels then drops down to the mat and hooks both legs for a cover 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3.

AFTERMATH: “Sexy Boy” blasts out as Michaels stands back up and gets his arm raised by Micky Henson. The crowd cheer like crazy as Michaels then walks to the corner and climbs to the second rope, celebrating his victory as Smackdown goes off the air

Default Re: WWE: A Strong Response

Sorry that I didn’t review Raw, been ill over the last week and a bit so had no motivation to go and review it tbh. But anyway here is a review for Smackdown.

Opening promo was a very good start to the show. Promo didn’t really pick up however until Shawn Michaels came down, and we had a confrontation between Edge and HBK which was very entertaining to read. Good to see Edge isn’t out of the title picture, as after what happened last week I thought he wouldn’t be in the picture. Big match announced for tonight, and I see the match ending as a draw so they both get title shots.

More mic time for Dykstra, seems as though your giving the kid a push which is good to see. Promo itself wasn’t anything special, but did it’s purpose of setting up the next match.

Dykstra v Chavo seemed like a pretty good match through the recap, little surprised at the ending however. As I thought Dykstra was going to get the clean victory, but instead weasels out and gets DQ’d. Must mean that your going to give Chavo a title shot in the future, as he would have been beaten otherwise.

Decent double promo here, started off weak with the Sydal promo, but got better when Estrada came in and argued with Regal about Umaga’s name lol.

Two Cruiserweight matches in a Row? Man you got a very good CW division on Smackdown. Good to see Noble get the victory, as he could be used a whole lot better in the CW division than Super Crazy.

Decent promo here, not too sure on what Burchill is like on the mic IRL, but he sounded ok here. Would of thought the rest of the UK Pack would be with him however.

Ugh not keen on you making Chavo look like Dykstra’s bitch here. But lol’d at Dykstra saying Bitch at the end of his bit lol.

Good tag team match here, and once again I expected The Worlds Greatest Tag Team to get a clean victory but we get another DQ. Not keen on having Two DQ endings in the first three matches. Nice aftermath with the UK Pack taking out Masters and WGTT, continuing the feud.

There seems to be at least one ass kissing promo on every Smackdown lol. But seriously was a pretty good promo, and gives me a feeling that HBK might take the win tonight.

Very interesting to see Thorn as a face in this thread, as I just cannot see it. No surprises to see Taker and Thorn take the victory, little surprised at the aftermath with Umaga attacking Thorn and then staring down The Undertaker. An Umaga/Taker feud would own, would make a good WM match.

Great promo here, you got MVP’s character and Hardy’s intensity off very well here. Am looking forward to their match at SNME.

Main event seemed to be a fantastic match, as you gave it a lot of time to progress. Was good to see that there was no interferences, and good to see Michaels get the victory as we get a Batista/HBK match down the line.

Overall was another great edition of Smackdown, the main storylines progressed very nicely, and look forward to Raw.

NEW NUMBER ONE CONTENDER FOR THE ANIMAL

After defeating Edge last week on Smackdown following a controversial disqualification to retain his World Heavyweight Championship, Batista learnt last night that he will be defending his title at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Smackdown General Manager, William Regal announced that there would be two matches, one last night where Shawn Michaels defeated Edge with Michaels now moving on to face the winner of the second upcoming match this week. The Samoan Bulldozer Umaga will meet The Undertaker next Friday, and after trying to get at his opponent last night before deciding against it, following an evil glare from the dead man.

Just who will face the Heartbreak Kid and earn a possible title shot against The Animal at Saturday Night’s Main Event?

sirdilznik's Smackdown review

I liked the opening promo. Edge was really in character and William seemed in character too (though his part was short). Sets up anticipation for later on. Nicely done.

Kenny Promo - Decent. Short and to the point.

Chavo vs. Kenny - if this was a non-title match, then why would Kenny intentionally DQ himself? Makes no sense to me.

Regal Promo - Great work. You do a really good Regal. Excellent promo both in the entertainment aspect and building for later on in the show and future shows.

I liked the Noble/Super Crazy match. Some nice near falls. A pissed off Jamie Noble is a good Jamie Noble.

Nice UK Burchill promo. I honestly don't know Paul too well so I don't know if he was in character, but the promo came off well I thought.

Liked the altercation between Kenny and Chavo. You play on Kenny's ego well.

The Tag Title match was pretty good. Too bad Sydal didn't get to hit much in the way of his aerial stuff. I liked the ending and the run in afterward. Good 3-way feud possibilities.

Nice HBK/Batista promo. Fairly in character. Good face vs. face stuff there.

Loved the Taker/Thorn vs. Morrison/Miz match. Taker kickin ass, what's not to like? My only (minor) issue is using the tombstone for the finisher. I personally would save that for PPV or a more high profile opponent at least. Good staredown afterward.

Great MVP promo. Calling people no-hopers. Good stuff. Did he steal Shane Douglas's line in there? Anyway, I loved it and the beatdown from Matt afterward.

Great main event. Classic stuff from HBK and Edge. I could totally picture HBK in there going through the routine. The missed Spear and Sweet Chin Music ending, predictable, but classic.

A great show on the overall. Some really excellent promos. You do William Regal, Edge and MVP really well. Good matches overall. Really my only major issue was the Dykstra/Guerrero match ending. Saturday Night's Main event is looking good!

8/10
