*Video Recap*
From the Royal Rumble Last Night!

The Straight-Edge Superstar looks wrecked as he gets up to his feet, very unsteady as he wearily looks into Cena's eyes, and Cena smirks at him. Punk's confused but not for long as Cena grabs him by the back of the neck and throws him down into the mat on his stomach. Cena jumps right down on him, crossing his legs to lock in the STFU!!!. . . . . Punk's in deep deep trouble with the crowd going crazy, split again as Cena puts Punk through hell. He's got nowhere to go and Cena's almost bursting a blood vessel to make him tap. Punk lifts his right hand up, trying to hold on with the crowd making a ton of noise. Cena holds on tight and Punk's just managing to hold on.

To his credit he keeps going and tries to drag himself towards the ropes, and as hard as he tries to stop him, Cena looks worried as Punk gets closer to the ropes, almost to within touching distance. Punk reaches out with all he has left for the bottom rope, and he might get there with a lot of the fans willing him on. He's going to grab it, but no, CENA STANDS UP AND DRAGS PUNK BACK INTO NO MAN'S LAND!!!. . . . . It's insane in the arena as Punk screams out with Cena desperate for him to tap, and it looks like he might. His hand gradually gets closer to the mat when out of nowhere, Raw's Homicide slides into the ring and stomps on Cena's head to a ton of heat.

There's some cheers too as Homicide puts the boots to Cena, breaking the hold with the ref powerless. Homicide's relentless as he pulls Cena up and fires him into the corner, following in with a hard clothesline and continuing to stomp & punch the hell out of the blindsided Cena. Punk crawls to the apron and rolls to the floor as Homicide inexplicably hammers Cena, but Cena fights back with right hands, fighting his way out of the corner. He blocks a right from Homicide and fires him into the ropes, and as Homicide comes back Cena takes him down with a LOU THESZ PRESS!

He unloads hell for leather on the Raw superstar, and as they both make their way back up, Cena slams him into the mat with the spin-out powerbomb, and with the fans cheering like mad, he signals for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, comes back off the ropes and hits it. Cena stands back up, in the zone and turns his head to see Punk slipping back in the ring with a steel chair. Punk stands up and runs at Cena, right into a kick to the gut with Cena lifting Punk up off his feet for the F-U!!!. . . . . Punk drops the chair and Cena turns to the cameras, getting ready to finish Punk. Homicide stands up though with the chair in hand and NAILS CENA IN THE BACK WITH THE IT!!!. . .

A ton of heat is thrown at Homicide as he drops the chair, glaring down without any remorse at all at the fallen Cena. Punk slowly stands back up with a sick smirk on his face and slaps Homicide on the shoulder. Cena though stars to stir, pissing Punk off, and the wannabe World Champion reaches down to pick the chair up and back away from Cena. A big pop breaks out in the crowd as Smackdown's General Manager, Tazz stomps his way down to the ring. He looks furious and he enters the ring staring at Punk and grabbing the chair from him.

Punk's pissed and he goes at it with Tazz with Cena slowly coming to and Homicide looking on. Tazz doesn't take any shit from Punk and tells him exactly what he thinks. Punk tells him it's no holds barred but Tazz says it's not meant to go down like this. Punk doesn't care and tries to grab the chair from Tazz, but the GM just shoves him back. He pisses Punk off even more and the former World Champion keeps taunting Tazz, calling him a joke & worthless. Tazz is getting angrier and Punk can see it. He keeps taunting him, telling him he can see he wants to hit him and dares him to.

Tazz resists with some fans begging him to hit Punk, and as Punk accuses him of having no balls again and tells him to get out of his ring, Tazz snaps and SWINGS THE CHAIR AT PUNK. . . PUNK DUCKS IT THOUGH AND CENA WALKS RIGHT INTO IT!!!. . . . . Cena falls in a heap with Tazz looking stunned. He can't believe what he's done and Punk just laughs, as does Homicide with the fans torn on how to react. The GM drops the chair and looks down in shock, then turns his back on the ring and leaving looking so guilty. Punk though loves it and he tells Homicide to pick Cena up, and the Raw superstar obliges.

Tazz turns round and watches with frustration as Homicide pushes Cena into Punk's path, and The Straight-Edge Superstar lifts Cena off his feet onto his shoulders, all smiles. . . GO TO SLEEP JOHN CENA!!!. . . . . Cena hits the mat and Punk turns to look at Tazz in the aisle as Stephanie McMahon runs out from the back, trying to get to the ring. Tazz grabs her though and tells her she's not getting involved again, much to Punk's amusement as he coolly covers Cena with Tazz holding onto a screaming Stephanie with the ref making the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3?

YES!. . . . . DING DING DING!!!

"This Fire Burns" hits to mostly a barrage of boos as the cocky Punk stands up with his arms in the air with the referee heading over to get his world title. Tazz lets go of Stephanie in the aisle and she goes mad, yelling at him, asking him what he was doing. He takes a look back at the ring to see the disgusted referee pass Punk his title and raise his hand then turns back to walk to the back, leaving Steph to look at the gloating Punk as he turns round with his title, being congratulated by Homicide.

They laugh between themselves and Punk lifts the title high up into the air, directly at Stephanie, pointing to the title and laughing with Steph absolutely furious. He turns back and walks over to the apron, taunting the fans this time by raising his title up with most of the fans booing. He doesn't care at all with Homicide looking down coldly at Cena as he opens his eyes, clueless as to what went down. Punk turns back again and throws the title over his shoulder, looking over at Stephanie and laughing again, infuriating the Executive Vice-President some more.

***

Michaels is flat out, but Orton's not done as he stands back up and turns his attention to The Undertaker. With the fans cheering, Orton watches him turn into his path and leaps up for the RKO!!!. . . . . Taker avoids it and throws Orton down to the mat. The Dead-Man stares down at Orton and lifts his right hand up for a CHOKESLAM!!!. . . . . The fans are enjoying this as Orton claws his way back up, turning round with Taker grabbing him by the throat. With the fans cheering, Taker lifts Orton up off his feet but ORTON COUNTERS IN MID AIR WITH AN RKO!!!. . . . .

It gets a mixed reaction from the crowd as Orton stares over at Taker, watching him rolling around on the mat. The Viper picks himself back up again, as does The Game by the ropes. Orton turns his head and sees him getting up, and he runs right at him, right into a HIGH KNEE STRIKE FROM THE WWE CHAMPION!!. . . . . It sends Orton staggering away from the ropes, and Triple H follows him out with Orton turning into a SPINNING SPINEBUSTER!!. . . . . The incredibly focused WWE Champion picks himself back up, seeing the finish line in sight against all the odds.

He pulls Orton back up, once again setting him up for the PEDIGREE!!!. . . . . The fans boo as The Game gets ready to drill Orton, but The Viper counters again with the BACK BODY DROP!!. . . . . Both men pull themselves back up, and as they turn to face each other, Orton tries for an RKO!!!. . . . . The Game counters and shoves Orton into the ropes. Orton holds on, pissing Triple H off no end. The WWE Champion stares angrily at Orton and runs in at him, AND ORTON DROPS TO HIS KNEES AND PULLS DOWN THE ROPES TO SEND TRIPLE H TOPPLING DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND OUT OF THE MATCH!!!

Elimination #27: Triple H by Randy Orton.

The now former WWE Champion sits up on the floor in shock, livid to be out of the match and losing his WWE title. Orton stands there smirking back at him, very much enjoying the satisfaction of eliminating the man he blames for costing him the same title at Unforgiven and putting him on the shelf for two months at Survivor Series. The Game mouths something to Orton, not that it bothers The Viper one bit, but Triple H stands up and tries to get back on the apron. He's blocked by the two officials with Orton still watching as the angry former WWE Champion tries to get back at him. He's held back as Orton smirks and turns round, only to see Taker back on his feet and running at him, CLOTHESLINING HIM OVER THE TOP AND OUT OF THE RING & MATCH!!!

Elimination #28: Randy Orton by The Undertaker.

We're down to two, The Undertaker & Shawn Michaels!

Orton hits the floor to a mixed reaction with The Game stepping back. He looks down at Orton without remorse, then shoves his way past the referees to drag Orton back up. The Game takes all his anger out on Orton and sends him face first into the ringpost. The Viper falls to the floor as the referees again grab Triple H and pull him away. He doesn't put up much resistance this time and retreats, still staring at Orton who remains on the arena floor, face down with the fans booing as Triple H finally relents and leaves ringside one angry S.O.B.

H.B.K. climbs all the way up to the top, fans going crazy as he LEAPS OFF TO DRIVE HIS ELBOW INTO TAKER'S CHEST, BUT TAKER DODGES IT BY ROLLING TO THE SIDE!!. . . . . They're both battle scarred as they pick their way back up, and Michaels blocks a right hand to fire jabs at Taker. Cheers come from the crowd and Shawn sends Taker into the ropes. The Dead-Man bounces off them and ducks an outstretched arm from Michaels, runs through off the ropes and hits Michaels with a RUNNING DDT!!!. . . . .

Michaels head just got drilled into the mat and Taker stands back up, pulls down one of his straps and raises his right hand to another big pop as Michaels sits up not knowing what planet he's on. Taker gets ready to strike, circling Michaels as he drags himself back up, struggling to keep his balance as he turns round with Taker grabbing him in a flash by the throat and PLANTING HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM!!!. . . . . Michaels is down & out in the middle of the ring, completely lifeless with Taker cutting his throat, signalling the end is near.

He reaches down and drags Michaels back up, no resistance from The Heartbreak Kid as Taker scoops him up and over his shoulder for the TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER!!!. . . . . Michaels fights back, wriggling down his way The Phenom's back to another big pop. Taker can't believe it and Michaels shoves him into the ropes. Taker turns round against the ropes and Michaels runs at him for a clothesline, but TAKER DUCKS HIS HEAD AND LIFTS MICHAELS OVER THE ROPES. . . . . HBK LANDS ON THE APRON AND TAKER TURNS TO SEE SHAWN THERE HOLDING ON, AND MICHAELS THRUSTS HIS SHOULDER INTO TAKER'S STOMACH. . . . .

MICHAELS TAKES THE FIGHT AND SUNSET FLIPS BACK INTO THE RING BUT TAKER STANDS FIRM. HE STARES DOWN AT HBK ON THE MAT AND FIRES A RIGHT HAND AT HIM, BUT MICHAELS SLIDES THROUGH THE LEGS TO DODGE IT AS TAKER DRIVES HIS FIST INTO THE MAT!!!. . . . . MICHAELS RUSHES BACK UP TO HIS FEET AS AN ANGRY TAKER TURNS ROUND INTO SWEET CHIN MUSIC, AND IT TAKES HIM OVER THE TOP AND DOWN TO THE FLOOR. . . . . TAKER'S OUT & MICHAELS HAS DONE IT. HE'S WON THE ROYAL RUMBLE & THE WWE TITLE!!!

Elimination #29: The Undertaker by Shawn Michaels.

"Sexy Boy" blasts out and Michaels drops to his knees, shocked at his own achievement with the fans going crazy. Taker sits up on the floor and looks back in with frustration as one of the referees enters the ring to raise Michaels' hand and to present him with the WWE Championship. The emotional Texan throws his title up in the air in sheer ecstasy, almost on the verge of tears as he looks into the crowd. He walks off into the corner and climbs up to the second rope to applaud the fans with the title on his shoulder, soaking up the incredible ovation as confetti falls from the heavens and Taker grudgingly turns his back on the ring and head back up the aisle.

Michaels is struggling to take it all in, looking at the WWE title almost in disbelief before raising it again. He steps down and walks back into the centre, again raising his title proudly with the fans still cheering the new WWE Chmapion, just as the former champion walks back out into the arena. An angry Triple H glares furiously at Michaels, who turns round to see The Game standing there staring at him. Michaels drops the title on his shoulder and stares back, looking somewhat confused. The Heartbreak Kid cracks a smile and turns back to walk over to the ropes to pose with his title again, only pissing The Game off even more as he watches on with steam coming out of his ears.

Jim Ross:
Welcome ev'ryone to Monday Night Raw, live t'night in Lincoln Nebraska. It's less than 24 hours since last night's hist'ry making Royal Rumble where we crowned both a new World Champion and a new WWE Champion in 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels, an' King, HBK is here t'night live on Raw.

Jerry Lawler: Well I was wondering about that JR, 'cause technically he's a Smackdown superstar.

Jim Ross: You're not alone in that King. There's been a lot of people asking the question of what that means, if Shawn will stay on Smackdown or come over to Raw. Hopefully we'll clear that up t'night, an' there'll be one person who'll want t' know the answer t' that more than anyone let me tell ya, an' that's the now former WWE Champion Triple H.

Jerry Lawler: I can't imagine what kind of mood he's gonna be in t'night an' I don't think I want t' find out. He must be going out of his mind seeing Shawn Michaels win the Royal Rumble at number two when ev'ryone including Triple H himself was saying he couldn't go all the way to retain his title, then Shawn goes an' lasts the distance. It's a crazy situation JR.

A mixed reaction breaks out as the Executive Vice-President, Stephanie McMahon walks out to the stage with a microphone in hand, and she doesn't look at all happy.

Stephanie McMahon:
Good evening. . .

Steph looks into the crowd, most cheering her as she tries to keep her cool, clearly riled by something.

Stephanie McMahon:
Last night was undoubtedly an incredible night, however there was still one situation that tarnished what should've been one of the most successful nights in the history of the WWE, that being CM Punk regaining the World Heavyweight Championship.

*Mixed*

Stephanie McMahon: I'm aware that this technically isn't a Raw issue but the scale of this problem is too big to ignore. It was clear for ev'ryone to see that what happened in the match between Punk an' John Cena was simply unacceptable. We had a general manager directly impact on the result of that match, and then he had the audacity to put his hands on me.

*Mixed*

Stephanie McMahon: That can't be tolerated, and one of the reasons I'm out here t'night is t' let Tazz an' all of you know that I will be considering what action t' take against him over the next few days. I will announce what action I will indeed take on Smackdown this Friday night, however like I said, that's not the only reason I came out here. Given how the world title match ended last night, there needs t' be a rematch where we decide who legitimately deserves t' be the World Heavyweight Champion. With that said, live this Friday night, there will be a rematch where CM Punk will defend the world title against John Cena.

*Huge Pop*

Stephanie McMahon: I advised them both of my decision after their match last night. CM Punk however had a problem with that decision and decided to go t' the board of directors to voice his concerns regarding my so called intentions. Having spoke with the board earlier t'day I can confirm that the match will go ahead as originally planned and I will be on hand to ensure that there's no repeat of the ending from last night. Given what happened at Night of Champions however, I've been advised that if I get involved in the match in any way, I will be removed as Executive Vice-President and from the board in general, and in addition CM Punk will automatically retain the title.

*Mixed*

Stephanie McMahon: It will also be the final one-on-one meeting between Cena an' Punk, but while informing them of that match last night, I also told them to be here on Raw t'night.

*Big Pop*

Stephanie McMahon: I agreed with Eric Bischoff after the show last night that both Cena an' Punk should be in the main event t'night in a tag team match. CM Punk will team up with the Raw superstar who helped him win the world title, that being Homicide.

*Heat*

Stephanie McMahon: Their opponents will of course be John Cena and a partner of my choosing. . . from Raw, The Undertaker.

*Massive Cheer*

Stephanie smiles at the crowd's reaction and "I'm All Grown Up Now" plays and she turns round to walk backstage.

Jerry Lawler:
Did you hear that JR? Cena an' Punk on Raw t'night? That's huge.

Jerry Lawler: It sure is King, an' what a main event it will be; CM Punk joining forces with the man who all but won him the world title last night in Homicide t' take on John Cena an' The Undertaker. I can't remember a main event as big as this f' a long time. . .

Jim Ross: . . . That folks isn't all we've got in store t'night. The World Tag Team Championship will be on the line t'night when Rey Mysterio an' Mystico, the incredibly exciting Mexican duo defend their titles against the two men who believe they should be champions themselves, Christopher Daniels an' Kaval in a no disqualification or count outs match. After the contr'versy we've seen between these teams, it's only fair we find out who really deserve t' be champions t'night.

Jerry Lawler: You've got t' wonder what condition Rey's in JR after the attack by Sheamus last night in the Rumble match. You've got t' think that gives the challengers the advantage here t'night.

Jim Ross: That's a fair comment King. Don't f'get we're also going t' hear from the new WWE Champion Shawn Michaels. What a night it's going t' be.

Stephanie McMahon is shown walking back through the production area and she bumps into the team of John Morrison & Justin Gabriel , who look to be in the final preparations for their upcoming match. She stops and looks at them, giving them the once over and looking very impressed by the oiled up duo as Morrison turns his head to see her standing there almost gawping.

John Morrison:
Oh hey Steph

Stephanie McMahon: Hhh. . . Hey. Oh, congratulations by the way on your victory last night. You guys did a good job. You looked good. . . real good.

John Morrison & Justin Gabriel: Thanks.

Steph pulls at her hair and plays with it.

Stephanie McMahon:
You're welcome.

She smiles and blushes a little, quickly realising she may look like a smitten teenager.

Stephanie McMahon:
Anyway, I've got work t' do gentlemen. Good luck with the match t'night.

John Morrison & Justin Gabriel: Thanks Steph.

She turns around and carries on walking, right into the path of the World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk and the man who gave him a helping hand getting there, Homicide, both in their street clothes. There's an awkward feeling on both sides with the world title resting on Punk's shoulder as he & Homicide both stare right at the uneasy Executive VP.

CM Punk:
You just couldn't do it could you Steph? You just couldn't accept that I deserve t' be the World Heavyweight Champion, so yet again you go an' stick your nose where it's not wan'ed in my business. You're a joke. If you're not making a fool of y'self around those pretty boys over there you're all busy trying t' find a way t' screw me out of the world title, but y'know what? It's not gonna happen. It didnt happen last night when I beat you t' the punch. I had t' do something last night t' make sure Night of Champions didn't happen all over again, so I turned t' my reliable long time buddy here who just happens t' share the same feelings I do about you an' this company. As f' Friday night, I actually don't mind facing Cena one last time having just heard what'll happen if you get involved again, but if you do have some plan in the works, so will I, just so you know Steph. I guess I. . . sorry my mistake, we'll see y'Friday.

The World Champion smirks at Steph before turning away, but he turns back to the clearly angered Executive VP.

CM Punk:
Actually there is something else I'd like t' say while you're here. You know that Tazz an' I don't get along that well t' say the least but if I were you I'd cut the guy some slack after what he did last night. Yeah he made a mistake hitting Cena but at least he had the guts t' stand up t' you when it mattered.

Stephanie McMahon: I'll tell you what Punk. I'll worry about Tazz an' you can worry about defending your title against John Cena. How about that?

CM Punk: Worry? Why would I worry? The tide's turned Steph. I'm not worried at all. You're not the one calling the shots now. . . I am.

Punk smirks at her again, and as much as you can see it's eating her up inside, Steph keeps her cool as Punk and the serious as ever Homicide head back up the hall.

*Video Recap*
From the Royal Rumble Last Night!

Morrison turns round and sees Ryder running at him but ducks underneath as Ryder hits the ropes. Morrison turns and runs into the ropes, jumping onto the second rope as Ryder turns into a SPRINGBOARD ENZUIGIRI!!!. . . . . No, Ryder ducks and grabs Morrison by the tights, turns and now SENDS HIM SHOULDER FIRST INTO THE RINGPOST!!!. . . . . Ryder backs up with a big smile on his face, looking very pleased with himself while Gabriel stands back up looking very worried.

Morrison falls back and holds his shoulder, but bravely tries to pick himself back up, using the ropes to help him as Ryder sets his sights on him, gearing up surely for the Rough Ryder. The fans try to make Morrison aware, but he doesn't have a clue, and as he makes it up, Ryder storms across the mat, jumping up for the ROUGH RYDER!!!. . . . . No, Morrison ducks it and turns to run the ropes, this time exploding & hitting the SPRINGBOARD ENZUIGIRI!!!. . . . . Ryder falls to the mat, not moving a muscle with the fans going crazy.

They're all cheering as Morrison drags his motionless body closer to the corner and then heads up to the top rope, making the crowd even louder. They lose their shit as Morrison takes a quick look down at Ryder, still not moving before leaping up into the air for STARSHIP PAIN!!!. . . . . BOOM, IT LANDS!!!. . . . . Morrison has it in the bag and reaches to the side to hook the leg for the cover with the ecstatic crowd again counting along with the ref as he runs across, drops to his knees and counts the fall. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!!!

"Ain't No Make Believe" hits to a big pop as Morrison stands up to get his arm raised by the referee, joined by Gabriel. Announced as the winners they take great satisfaction in the win, and as the ref lets their arms go, they enjoy a brief guy hug. They then head to the corners and hit the second rope to celebrate, showing their appreciation for the fans as Miz sits up on the floor looking pissed to see them looking down at him and laughing. He shakes his head and they step down and head to the other side of the ring, again posing for the fans before leaving the squared circle victorious, smiling all the way back up the ramp with Miz still angrily watching on the floor.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

*The Opening Match*
John Morrison, Justin Gabriel & The Colons
vs. The Miz, Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes & Joe Hennig

The four fan favourites were the more fired-up team from the get go and they had the fans eating out of the palm of their hands with some fast pace action. They had the heels rattled from the early going, but The Miz managed to get them back in the match, but as the match went on they came back firing at the heel quartet. Morrison led the fight, dodging a Rough Ryder like last night before connecting with a step-up enzuigiri. This time Miz broke the count with a light stomp to the back of his former partner's head before all hell broke loose with everyone getting involved and ending up on the outside bar the legal men after Gabriel hit a springboard moonsault to take them all down on the floor. As Morrison & Ryder made their way back up inside, Ryder ducked a super kick but again missed with the Rough Ryder, putting the brakes on before turning round into a Moonlight Drive just as Gabriel was climbing back up on the apron. Morrison dragged Ryder towards the corner and tagged Gabriel, and the South African went straight up to the top rope, connecting with the 450 splash to pick up the win for him, Morrison and the Colon brothers. The fans gave all four a big reaction and they all enjoyed it. The Miz however didn't as he sat up looking on angrily from the floor.

Winners: John Morrison, Justin Gabriel & The Colons by pinfall.

Jerry Lawler: I'll say it again like I did last night JR, Morrison an' Gabriel were very impressive. They look like the real deal t' me.

Jim Ross: Indeed they do, but let's not f'get about the Colons either. Eddie an' Carlito did a good job too t'night. The future looks bright f' the tag team division here on Raw, that's f' sure.

We're taken backstage, to the entrance from the parking lot where the former WWE Champion, Triple H walks in. Boos can be heard coming from the arena as the still visibly fuming now former champion walks down the halls where Todd Grisham walks towards him with a microphone, trying to catch his attention.

Todd Grisham:
Triple H, can I get a quick word with you about last night?

The Game stops but doesn't look back as Todd catches up with him.

Todd Grisham:
Hun'er, can I get your reaction to Shawn Michaels' victory last night to become the new WWE Champion?

The Game turns his head and stares menacingly at Todd with Trips looking like he's set to burst a blood vessel. Grisham looks worried and he ought to be, but thankfully The Game turns his head back and walks up the hall, still pissed.

*Commercial Break*

"Priceless, baby I'm priceless. . . "

Ted DiBiase
and his girlfriend, Maryse walk out to the stage with DiBiase (in his ring gear) looking angrily into the crowd. He's in one hell of a mood tonight as he heads down the ramp with Maryse, just as angry following.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

*Video Recap*
From the Royal Rumble Last Night!

Ted DiBiase and his girlfriend, Maryse are walking through the back, and as they turn the corner they see the United States Champion, Matt Sydal in his ring gear and standing with his girlfriend, Mickie James. DiBiase smiles, looking really pleased to see them and he walks up to the 2008 King of the Ring who turns his head, not looking at all impressed or bothered by Ted's presence.

Ted DiBiase: Well look who we have here babe. If it isn't the breakout star of the year.

Sydal doesn't pay any attention to his bitter remarks, and Mickie turns her head looking disgusted by Ted, not going down well with him at all.

Ted DiBiase: Hey, are you letting that ridiculous award you didn't deserve go t' your head?

Sydal & Mickie smirk, not rising to the bait.

Mickie James: We heard you alright. In fact we've heard you say the same thing several times. Maybe you should just get over it.

Ted DiBiase: Get over it? You're kidding me right? There's no way he was the breakout star of the year. . . I was.

DiBiase looks pissed as Sydal & Mickie turn to walk away, and Ted snaps. He clubs Sydal from behind and knocks him to the floor. He continues to pummel him, this time with boots to the lower back, and he pulls him up off his knees to send him crashing into the wall.

Mickie James: GET OFF HIM.

Mickie tries to pull Ted off her boyfriend but he keeps on stomping the ribs of the United States Champion. A group of officials surge into the scene and pull him away with Mickie immediately dropping to her knees to check on Matt. He's on his side clutching his ribs as a smug DiBiase walks off with Maryse.

Official: Matt, are you okay?

There's no response from Sydal as he just grimaces. The official checking on him stands up and looks back up the hall.

Official: WE NEED SOME HELP DOWN HERE, NOW

Mickie continues to attend to Sydal as he looks in agony on the floor awaiting medical attention.

***

The tension's clear as he makes it up to his feet, and Ziggler explodes into action, sneaking up behind him for the ZIG ZAG!!!. . . . . Sydal pulls away and Dolph falls back to the mat. The fans cheer again but Dolph isn't staying down for long though. Sydal takes a quick breather, looking absolutely spent, but as Dolph gets up and turns round, Sydal steps out to nail him with an ENZUIGIRI!!!. . . . . It goes crazy again in the arena as Dolph just falls to the mat in a heap, not moving a muscle as Sydal looks up, then crawls to the corner with the fans cheering like mad. Mickie wills him on, sensing he could be close to what will be an incredible victory.

Sydal slips under the apron and drags himself up the ropes, all the way to the top with Ziggler still out of it beneath him. The cheers grow & grow as the exhausted & injury plagued United States Champion takes a look down at him before jumping up into the air for the SHOOTING STAR PRESS!!!. . . . . No, Ziggler rolls right into the corner as Sydal's ribs crash into the canvas to the shock & horror of the quickly deflated Greensboro fans. Mickie drops her head onto the apron again before doing everything she can to encourage him, shouting support to Sydal. Both men look wrecked as they drag themselves up, fighting their battered bodies with every inch of fight they have.

Sydal's in agony, holding his ribs as he just about manages to get to his knees, but Ziggler leans against the turnbuckle pads getting his breath back. He keeps his eyes on Sydal, and as Sydal just about manages to get back up, Ziggler charges at him from behind and jumps up off the mat for the ZIG ZAG AND GETS IT, EVERY LAST BIT OF IT TO SEND SYDAL'S BACK CRASHING INTO THE CANVAS!!!. . . . . Mickie turns round in a flash, sensing the worst as Ziggler rushes to make the cover, hooking both legs as the ref makes the count with the fans stunned. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

. . . . . 3!!!

"Perfection" hits to some heat from the crowd with most fans shocked as Ziggler leans back on his knees and throws his arms into the airs, absolutely ecstatic at winning his first title in the WWE. The referee walks over to the apron and collects what is now Ziggler's title and Mickie leans on the apron looking devastated for her boyfriend.

***

DiBiase's entrance into the arena is met by a chorus of boos, not that he cares as he coolly looks up at the ring. Maryse wishes him luck and watches him walk down to the ring, but as he climbs up on the apron, Maryse is left stunned as Matt Sydal, the former United States Champion brushes past her. With his ribs still taped up, he paces down the aisle furiously with the fans cheering. DiBiase steps inside and sees Sydal. The King of the Ring tries to jump up on the apron but the referees stops him, much to Ted's amusement as he looks down at him and laughs, enjoying what he's seeing.

He leans over the ropes and taunts the angry Sydal, but unbeknown to Ted, Backlund approaches from behind and lifts him off his feet and over the top rope, and DIBIASE FALLS OFF THE APRON AND DOWN TO THE FLOOR!!!. . . . . A huge cheer breaks out as DiBiase hits the floor in shock. He throws a fit with Backlund jumping up & down, and even Sydal enjoys it, easing his mood as he backs away laughing. Maryse runs down to her boyfriend who stands up and points at Sydal, blaming him as Sydal backs up the aisle laughing back at him. The referees then tell to Ted he has to leave ringside, which he does reluctantly, going after Sydal who walks backstage.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

We're back to the ring with Ted's music coming to a halt and he's stood in the middle of the ring with a microphone in hand, still with a face like thunder.

Ted DiBiase:
Right now I should be stood here as the new WWE Champion and ev'rybody knows it.

*Lot of Heat*

Ted DiBiase: Boo all you want but you know as well as I do that I was going t' win the Royal Rumble the last night, but thanks t' one man, the so called Breakthrough Star of the Year, I'm not.

*More Boos*

Ted DiBiase: And I promise I'm not going t' f'get about it anytime soon. I was even going t' come out here t'night and say I felt sorry f' Matt Sydal losing the United States title last night after he made me lose my temper earlier on. It was never my intention t' do that I swear, but when he followed me out to the ring when I was all set t' go on an' win the Royal Rumble, he had ev'ry intention of making sure I didn't reach the heights he could only dream of.

*Heat*

Ted DiBiase: Sydal, you had no place being there and you need to understand this. . .

?: . . . Whoa whoa whoa, hold on there a minute.

Raw's Head of Authority, Eric Bischoff walks out to the stage, microphone in hand to a decent pop as he looks down with a wry smile on his face at DiBiase, and he doesn't look happy to see his boss standing there, and the same goes for Maryse.

Eric Bischoff:
Ted Ted Ted, you never fail to amaze me. Did I really hear you say he made you lose your temper last night? I'm not sure exactly what was said but I think it's safe t' say that it probably didn't go down like that given how I too have been on the receiving end of one of your backstage attacks. Fortunately however I've been told t'day that Matt Sydal will recover in good time. In fact he'll be ready to compete in just under three weeks at No Way Out when you'll get t' put your theory of who deserves t' be the Breakout Star of the Year t' the test. It'll be you an' the King of the Ring one-on-one.

*Pop*

Ted DiBiase: What, you think that bothers me? I can't wait t' prove my point by beating the overrated. . .

Eric Bischoff: . . . If you don't mind, I wasn't finished. I was going t' say, seeing how he's unable to compete at the moment and he's not on the Raw roster anyway, you will be in action t'night. Not only that, you're going t' take on someone who has a lot in common with your opponent at No Way Out. He too was a champion last year. Also, unfortunately he wasn't successful last night. and he was attacked too. That's put him in rather a bad mood t'night, and I don't know if it's just coincidence, but like Sydal he hails from St. Louis Missouri.

*Big Pop*

DiBiase shakes his head slightly, thinking he knows what's coming.

Eric Bischoff:
Ladies an' gentleman give it up f' Ted's opponent t'night, RANDY OR-TON!.

"I hear voices in my head. . ."

The crowd erupts with a massive pop as Bischoff steps to the side and Randy Orton struts out to the stage looking ready to do someone some serious damage. DiBiase looks on, clearly unhappy at the challenge that awaits with Maryse too looking worried as the intense Orton walks slowly & purposefully down the ramp to the ring. Bischoff's got a smug smile on his face as he turns back and heads backstage with the fans going mad for Orton as he enters the ring, eyes locked on the uneasy looking DiBiase.

*Match 2*
Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase w/Maryse

DiBiase had every right to be worried as The Viper was out to let out some serious frustration & anger from last night. He punished Ted from the start, showing some serious aggression that was met with strong approval from the fans. Maryse was a worried girlfriend on the outside, and Ted had her to thank for giving him some respite and a way into the contest when she grabbed Orton's foot as he ran the ropes. He stopped & turned round, stared down at her and let her know in no uncertain terms that she's playing with fire. Ted snuck up behind him and stomped all over him. Orton was kept grounded by Ted but fought back into it, dodging a missile dropkick before dragging Ted up into an inverted headlock backbreaker. DiBiase was in trouble but he came back into it by his own accord, rolling away from a pointed knee drop, but it all turned around again when Orton reversed an irish whip to the corner and followed in with a massive clothesline.

Ted stumbled out with his head dropped, and The Viper took full advantage, grabbing DiBiase's head under his arm and throwing him round to hang his legs on the ropes to drill him for a spike DDT off the ropes. Maryse managed to save him by putting his foot on the rope to stop the count getting to three, but it quickly proved to be a mistake as Orton backed off and stalked him for the running punt to the head. Ted didn't have a clue as he clawed his way up to his knees, but as Orton stormed across the ring, Ted pulled his head back and tried going for Dream Street in desperation. Orton though quickly slipped behind, and as DiBiase turned round Orton leapt up and hit the RKO to get the win. After the bell Ted rolled outside with Maryse checking on him while The Viper gazed into the crowd, not looking at all satisfied or pleased with the win, looking a menacing sight.

Winner: Randy Orton by pinfall.

Jim Ross: When Eric Bischoff said Randy Orton was in an angry mood t'night he wasn't kidding.

Jerry Lawler: He sure wasn't JR. You know my hist'ry with that spoilt brat an' even I feel sorry f' him after that. Randy meant serious business t'night.

Jim Ross: No doubt about that King. We've seen a more determined Randy Orton since his return a few weeks ago. That's not a good thing f' anyone on the road to Wrestlemania.

*Video Recap*
From the Royal Rumble Last Night!

Here comes Rey to an almighty roar. The fans go crazy for him as he slides into the ring, under an outstretched arm for Sheamus, runs through into the ropes and comes back to take Sheamus onto the second rope with TILT-A-WHIRL HEADSCISSORS!!. . . . . It's getting loud in here as Rey dials up, turns back into the ropes, runs back across and connects with the 619!!!. . . . . Sheamus is sent back pedalling from the ropes in a spin as Rey Rey steadies himself on the apron, but he has to block a right hand from Edge, then hits him with a forearm to put the Canadian down.

Sheamus turns round and Rey hits a springboard, WEST COAST POP!!!. . . . . OR NOT! SHEAMUS HOLDS ON TO REY WITH THE MEXICAN ON HIS SHOULDERS, BUT REY FIGHTS BACK WITH RIGHT HANDS, SENDING SHEAMUS BACK INTO THE ROPES, AND THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION SPINS ROUND TO TRY AND DROP HIM OUT, BUT REY REACHES BACK TO GRAB THE TOP ROPE FOR A HURRICANRANA, SENDING SHEAMUS OUT OF THE RING AND ON TO THE ARENA FLOOR TO A HUGE POP FROM THE CAPACITY CROWD!!!

Mysterio's eliminated the Intercontinental Champion and the crowd love it. Rey breathes a sigh of relief as he leans back against the ropes, but Sheamus is furious as he stands up, staring up at Rey from behind. He grabs Rey by the legs and drags him out of the ring under the bottom rope, then sends him crashing into the steel steps to a ton of heat. Sheamus is told to leave by the officials on the outside. He doesn't go anywhere and pushes them away with Rey hurt on the floor.

The livid Irishman picks up the top step that was knocked over by Rey when he crashed into them, and despite the officials begging Sheamus not to use them, he BRINGS THEM CRASHING DOWN INTO REY'S STOMACH!!!. . . . . The fans continue to boo as the remorseless Intercontinental Champion lets go of them, and this time he's ushered back by one of the referees while the other checks on Rey, and the World Tag Team Champion looks hurt.

Sheamus steps away this time, still staring at Rey before turning around as the other official goes to help the other, trying to help Rey up. Rey doesn't look like he should be on his feet as Sheamus turns round and sees him on his feet, and he doesn't like seeing that. He walks back round the ring and charges at Rey, making the refs shit themselves as THE CELTIC WARRIOR LEVELS REY SQUARE IN THE HEAD WITH THE BROGUE KICK!!!. . . . .

Rey falls to the floor again to yet more boos with Sheamus standing over him sadistically, breathing heavily before raising his arms into the air to an absolute bombardment of heat from the Greensboro faithful. EMT's come running down the aisle to check on Rey as Sheamus again walks away, and Rey's tag team partner, Mystico comes out to check on him too with the fans hurling abuse at the Intercontinental Champion as he heads backs up the aisle.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

The Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus is shown in the locker room watching a television, presumably the footage just shown given his very angry expression. He looks at the bottle of water in his hand and turns to throw it against the wall, getting even more agitated.

We cut across the back where Leticia Cline is standing by.

Leticia Cline:
Joining me at this time are the number one contenders for the World Tag Team titles, The Epitome of Excellence, Christopher Daniels an' Kaval.

The camera zooms out and there stand Christopher Daniels & Kaval in their ring gear looking very serious indeed with their title match later on.

Leticia Cline:
Gentlemen later on this evening you'll be challenging Rey Mysterio an' Mystico for the tag team titles and having just seen what happened last night in the Royal Rumble between Rey an' Sheamus, I have to ask you f' your thoughts on the rumours that Rey's nowhere near 100% t'night.

Christopher Daniels: To answer your question firstly Leticia, what happened to Rey was very unfortunate. I'm sure in some way we'll be painted as villains despite having nothing t' do with what happened. The fact of the matter is we've always been very respectful of both Rey and Mystico's ability, and all we've wan'ed is the chance we know we deserve after ev'rything that's gone against us. We came here t' be champions, there's no denying that, but we want it the right way. We're the Epitome of Excellence f' a reason, an' just t' point out, we didn't give ourselves that name. It was given to us. We pride ourselves on being the best. We came here t'night with our mission to come out on top in an incredible match against incredible opponents. The problem that we have however is that we've never been defeated, even by the champions we respect. T'night is about justice. T'night Kaval an' I will finally become the World Tag Team Champions.

Leticia Cline: You just said y'self that there has been some controversy surrounding y'selves an' the titles which is why there will be no count outs or disqualifications in your match t'night. Do you think that added stipulation favours either team?

Christopher Daniels: The best way I can answer that is by saying that we try to win our matches in one way only, by demonstrating our ability over our opponents. We've been here around four months Leticia and we've never, not once cheated in any shape or form to win any match we've been in. The rules t'night make absolutely no diff'rence to us. What it does do is it ensures there won't be a repeat of our last encounter when we should've walked out as the champions. T'night though we will.

Leticia Cline: Alright, thanks guys an' good luck t'night.

Showing they mean business, Daniels & Kaval look intently into the camera.

*Match 3*
Melina vs. Mia Rain

Melina was clearly up for this one, but so was Rain. She quickly let Melina and the crowd know she wasn't about to roll over for the former Women's Champion, and after ducking a roundhouse kick late on, it looked like Rain was about to get the win. She reacted in a flash to lift Melina off the mat and into a falling gutbuster, but The Paparazzi Princess shocked her and some of the crowd by getting her shoulder up at the count of two. Rain was furious, and her frustrations got the better of her as she urged Melina to get back up, but when she did, she slipped away from Rain's clutches and caught her out of nowhere with the Extreme Makeover, a spinning facebuster to get a solid win. As Rain left the ring frustrated holding her jaw while Melina celebrated, the former Women's Champion then asked for a microphone, getting one passed to her by Lilian Garcia.

Winner: Melina by pinfall.

Melina: As you all know at Night of Champions I lost the women's title to Queen Kong. Ever since she arrived here she's looked unstoppable, but at Night of Champions I came close and now I honestly believe I can beat her. Some of you will think I'm crazy but I know I can do the impossible. Thankfully I have a rematch clause an' next week I'm going t' use it. Not only will I use it but I'll take my title back an' be the first person to beat. . .

Queen Kong's music hits and the Women's Champion walks out to the stage looking as scary as ever with her eyes fixed firmly on Melina in the ring. Melina kneels down and places the microphone on the mat and prepares for her arrival, not shying away from her rival despite showing some understandable concern as Kong gets to the ring. Melina watches her up the steps and into the ring, and Kong stares over menacingly at her and slowly removes her title belt. She drops it on the mat and walks slowly towards Melina, staring right into her eyes.

Melina doesn't flinch and ducks a right hand from Kong, then connects with a spin kick to the stomach, and then another to put the champion down on one knee to a decent pop from the crowd. She turns back to run the ropes but runs back into a falling clothesline, knocking the wind out of her sails. Kong stands up with fire in her eyes and brings Melina up with her, setting her up for a powerbomb. She lifts Melina effortlessly up in the air, but Melina hammers away at her and counters with a hurricanrana.

The fans love it as they both pick themselves back up, and Melina levels Kong with a roundhouse kick to another big pop from the fans. Melina stares down almost in shock at flooring Kong as "Paparazzi" blasts out again, but Kong sits up and Kelly Kelly & Gail Kim walk out from the back and head down the ramp. Melina turns and sees them, choosing to leave the ring as they show her their support with Kong staring right at them furiously, but Melina looks back, looking like she believes she has what it takes next week.

Jerry Lawler:
Melina said herself that some people will think she's crazy f' thinking she can beat Kong, an' I'm one of 'em JR. I don't know if anyone can beat her.

Jim Ross: Well King, people said the same about Andre The Giant an' The Undertaker but they were beaten. I've never seen any woman as dominant as Queen Kong but she has t' lose one day. Who knows? It might be next week an' Melina believes in herself. She did come close to an upset at Night of Champions an' she's got Kong rattled t'night. I think it'll be closer than ev'ryone thinks.

Jerry Lawler: So you're going f' a Kong win too then JR?

Jerry Lawler: We'll see. All I'm saying is Melina's got a chance an' she's ready. Unlike ev'ryone else we've seen, she's not scared of Kong an' she got under her skin. You've got t' give her a shot.

*Video Recap*
From the Royal Rumble Last Night!

The fans are left disappointed again, and both men are struggling as they try to make it up to a vertical base. Kofi's up first and he kicks Jay in the gut. Lethal grabs his boot though and spins his brother round, and in the blink of an eye he lifts Kofi off his feet for the LETHAL INJECTION, A BELLY TO BACK SUPLEX LIFT INTO A NECKBREAKER!!!. . . . . Kofi hits the mat with force and rolls over onto his stomach towards the apron. Lethal turns his head and looks over coldly at Kofi lying there. He coolly shifts across the mat to make the cover, hooking the near leg confidently as the ref makes the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3?

NO!

Kofi manages to get his foot on the bottom rope to the relief & delight of the crowd and Jay can't believe it. He sits up and glares at the referee with fury in his eyes. The ref signals the two count and Jay snaps, rushing back up to his feet and dragging Kofi up with him. Kofi barely offers any resistance as his furious brother pulls him into a place for a DDT. Lethal stares into the crowd, hell bent on putting Kofi away. Holding onto Kofi, Jay runs into the corner, jumping onto the second rope for a SPRINGBOARD TORNADO DDT!!!. . . . . No, Kofi counters and throws Jay forward & down into the canvas. A big pop breaks out as Lethal lands awkwardly on the mat, sitting up and holding his lower back.

Kofi though lets go of the ropes, focusing on his brother and he gets ready for the Trouble in Paradise. The fans continue cheering as Kofi steps away from the ropes clapping his hands above his head, but as Jay unwittingly picks himself up off the mat, Kofi's mood changes dramatically. He looks very uneasy and stops clapping, and as Jay turns round, Kofi freezes completely. Jay's stunned but takes full advantage of his brother's hesitancy and leaps up off the mat to hit the TROUBLE IN PARADISE HIMSELF!!!. . . . . Jay just nailed his brother with his own finisher, going for the right cover with the fans looking on nervously as the ref counts Kofi's shoulders. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3?

YES, IT'S OVER! Jay beats Kofi and advances to the Royal Rumble match. "Lethal" hits and Jay stands up with a smug look on his face as he gets his arm raised. The fans are shocked and Lethal revels in it, walking over to the apron and smirking at them. He then turns round and sees Kofi coming round, taking great pleasure in that too. Jay walks across the mat to leave the ring, taking one last look at his brother before leaving the ring and walking back up the aisle. Kofi sits up and begins to realise what's happened, looking in his brother's direction as Jay turns back and smirks again having scored the big win over Kofi. He then turns his back on him and carries on backstage, leaving the incredibly disappointed Kofi to dwell on the loss.

*Match 4*
Eugene w/Goldust vs. Jay Lethal

Lethal walked out with a slight swagger after beating Kofi last night, but when the bell rung he was all about the action. Eugene frustrated him though and the fans behind him the whole way, really getting under Jay's skin. He was all over the place after he missed with a double axe handle off the top, getting kicked in the stomach and lifted into an aeroplane spin. The fans were loving it and Eugene followed it up with a battering ram and then dragged him away from the ropes to make a cover. Jay kicked out but Eugene kept the pressure on, hulking up after a comeback by Jay, and just as it looked like he was going to hit the big leg drop, Jay rolled away from it. As they both picked themselves back up, Lethal was clearly livid, determined to put the match to bed, and he looked close after catching him with the Lethal Combination, an STO backbreaker into a reverse STO. Eugene kicked out though, and even after Eugene ducked the Enzufury, Lethal pulled back from a Stunner attempt to plant him with the Lethal Injection, a belly-to-belly suplex into a neckbreaker, and it was enough to give him the victory. He got his arm raised looking slightly relieved to have got the win but he then soaked up the heat from the crowd, revelling in it with another victory under his belt.

Winner: Jay Lethal by pinfall.

A serious looking Kofi Kingston is watching the events in the ring backstage on the screen at the interview set when Todd Grisham walks towards him, armed with a microphone.

Todd Grisham:
Hey Kofi. Is there any chance of a quick word with you?

Kofi turns round, not looking too willing.

Kofi Kingston:
Yeah I guess.

Todd Grisham: Well there's a lot of people who want t' know just exactly what happened in your match last night with your brother Jay when you seemed t' freeze just when it looked like you were about to go for the trouble in paradise an' win the match. What was it that was going through your head?

Kofi Kingston: Y'know Todd I don't know how t' answer that. If I knew myself what happened I'd say so.

Todd Grisham: I can't help but wonder if after ev'rything that's happened with your brother recently as well as losing the Intercontinental Championship last year, what happened with Kelly an' Cody if this bad time you're going through got t' you last night?

Kofi can't believe what he heard and stares in shock at Todd, who stands there waiting for a response.

Kofi Kingston:
Are you kidding me Todd?

Kofi looks at him in disgust and storms off with Todd bemused as to what he said that rattled Kofi, just as Kofi walks right into Chris Jericho. They give each other the eyes briefly before Kofi brushes past him and keeps on walking with Jericho turning round shaking his head. Dressed for action against The Big Show he turns back and sees Grisham standing there, and Todd looks keen to get a word from him.

Todd Grisham:
Chris, you're about to go one-on-one with The Big Show, who you eliminated last night in the Royal Rumble. Are you at all worried at the prospect of having to face The World's Largest Athlete 24 hours after eliminating him in the Rumble?

Chris Jericho: Why would I be worried Todd? You said yourself that I eliminated the largest athlete in the world last night, and last week it so happens I defeated him in the gauntlet match as well. If anyone should be worried being aware of that information it's The Big Show, not me. He may be the biggest athlete in the world but I am the best in the world at what I do. That's why I have bettered him twice in a week. T'night that dominance will continue, I assure you of that.

Looking very sure of himself, Jericho walks past Grisham with his match against The Big Show up next!

From Last Week!

Gauntlet Match for Number 30 in the Royal Rumble
The Big Show vs. Chris Jericho

Jericho tried to play dirty with Show determined to push on, and he looked all set for the first fall of the gauntlet when he managed to pull Jericho slightly away from the ropes and plant him with a chokeslam, only Jericho rolled under the bottom rope. Show couldn't take advantage and after several seconds he went outside after Jericho who was crawling on all fours close to the ring-steps. Show walked towards and tried to pick him up, but the resourceful Canadian reacted with a drop toe hold to send Show face first into the steps. Still groggy himself, Jericho struggled back up onto the apron and into the ring as Show started to stir, crawling to the apron as the ref counted to 10, giving Jericho the first fall by count out. Big Show dragged himself back up onto the apron looking devastated to have been counted out and Jericho sat up laughing & pointing at him.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

*Match 5*
The Big Show vs. Chris Jericho

Jericho entered the ring looking very complacent while Show entered it with purpose. The Canadian quickly found out how much trouble he was in when he found himself backed up in the corner and on the receiving end of a forehand chop to the chest. Show didn't relent, and after Jericho fought his way out of a bearhug and thought he was on the comeback trail, he came back off the ropes to be lifted up off his feet and above Show's head. The World's Largest Athlete pressed him up & down before dropping him into the canvas to a big pop. Jericho was suffering and rolled out under the apron by the ramp, and when he managed to make it back up with the ref counting him out, he turned his back on the ring and headed up the ramp to a ton of heat, getting counted out with Show looking on in shock. He was furious as the ref counted to ten and as he was announced the winner, shaking his head in disgust as Jericho walked backstage and "Crank It Up" played. Show walked over to the ropes and shook his head again, showing the fans his frustration.

Winner: The Big Show by Count Out.

Jim Ross:
Well so much f' Jericho bettering Big Show again t'night. All he's done is show he's a coward.

Jerry Lawler: I wouldn't exactly put it like that JR, an' if you ask me, staying away from Big Show's probably a wise move t'night.

Jim Ross: Either way King, Jericho ran his mouth as he's done ever since he's come back t' Raw but he couldn't back up t'night. He didn't even try f' cryin' out loud.

Making their way through the back are the World Tag Team Champions, Rey Mysterio & Mystico with Rey walking somewhat gingerly after the assault at the hands of Sheamus last night.

Jim Ross:
When we come back folks, the world tag team titles will be on the line when The Epitome of Excellence finally get the rematch they've wan'ed since Night of Champions with no count outs or disqualification. You won't wanna miss this folks I promise y'that. Don't go far whatever y'do.

*Match 6*
World Tag Team Championship
No DQ or Count Out
Rey Mysterio & Mystico (c)
vs. The Epitome of Excellence

Both teams walked down to the ring with their game faces on, both looking focused for the match in hand, but Mysterio was walking awkwardly after the attack by Sheamus last night. It had an effect early on too when he had an irish whip to the corner reversed and his back crashed into the pads. He was holding his lower back when he struggled back up, and he got no sympathy from the challengers. He showed typical fight to bring Mystico into the match, and he took the fight to Daniels & Kaval. As the match was in its closing stages, both teams came close. Kaval looked to put Mystico away and went looking for the Tidal Wave, a springboard roundhouse, but the Mexican dodged it and nailed him with a super kick. Kaval managed to get his shoulder up at two. Daniels then thought he had it won when he caught Mysterio with the Best Moonsault Ever, only for Rey to kick out at two. He was furious and set the battered Mexican up for the Angel's Wings, but Rey countered by sweeping both of Daniels' legs using his hands and flipped forward for a jackknife cover. Daniels kicked out at two and had to again when Rey caught him with a leg feed enzuigiri. Rey then made the tag to Mystico, showing the effects of the attack last night as he watched on from the apron with Mystico taking the fight to Daniels. It looked like Daniels was going to fall victim to a tiger feint kick (Rey's 619) from Mystico, but he pulled his head back at the last second. Mystico wasn't done though and thrust his shoulder into Daniel's gut before hitting a springboard sunset flip, only for Daniels again to kick out at two.

As they made their way back up, Daniels reversed a whip and Mystico came back off the ropes to catch him with tilt-a-whirl headscissors into a single arm DDT. The fans were on their feet as Mystico raced into the cover, but Kaval stormed the ring to break it up at two to a ton of heat. The fans were furious, and so was Rey as he surged into the ring to take Kaval down. Rey stood back up and looked down furiously at Kaval when a chorus of boos broke out, and as Rey then turned round, the Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus charged at him and took his head off with the Brogue Kick. The crowd booed the hell out of Sheamus as he stared down at Rey with contempt and without remorse. The ref was powerless but tried to get Sheamus to leave, but all the Irishman did was kick Rey under the bottom rope. With all three men squirming in the ring oblivious to it, Sheamus dragged the motionless Rey up to fire him into the guardrail by the ramp, but he wasn't done there and scooped him up again at the foot of the ramp, lifting Rey into position for the White Noise, and he nailed it onto the ramp to an almighty thud. He stood up to even more heat, just smirking as he backed away from Rey as Daniels & Mystico sat up in the ring looking stunned. EMT's ran down the ramp past Sheamus as Mystico crawled to the ropes to get a closer look, looking concerned for his friend & partner. Daniels looked to take advantage by sneaking up behind Mystico and rolling him up, but only got a two count. They both shot up with Mystico reversing an irish whip, but Daniels held on and caught Mystico with a raised boot as the Mexican ran at him.

It sent him spinning away, but as he turned round and Daniels ran at him, Mystico caught him with another super kick. Kaval tried to dive across on to Mystico to stop the count, but Mystico saw him coming and broke the cover himself as Kaval landed on his partner to a big pop. With the EMT's still attending to Rey, Mystico took the fight by himself, backtracking to the ropes as Kaval stood up and ran at him, only for Mystico to lower the ropes and send him down to the floor. The fans were going crazy, and as Daniels clawed his way up to his knees, Mystico went right after him, right into a low blow as he tried to help him up from his knees. The crowd crapped all over Daniels as he stood up intensely, looking into the stands without regret as he then leaned forward to bring Mystico up, setting him up for the Angel's Wings, and he hit it to even more heat. Kaval was sitting up on the floor and watched as his partner made the cover, getting the three count to win the titles for The Epitome of Excellence. Their music hit to a ton of heat as Kaval looked on showing a brief smile on the floor, and he then collected the titles as he stood up and then entered the ring with the EMT's still helping Rey on the ramp. Daniels was passed one of the titles and hugged Kaval before the emphatically raised the titles into the air in front of the furious crowd. Mystico had already rolled out of the ring and as he made it back up he went over to check on Rey too with the new champions celebrating in front of a disgusted crowd.

Winners: By pinfall, and the new World Tag Team Champions, The Epitome of Excellence.

Jim Ross: What the hell is wrong with Sheamus? He had no reason coming out here t'night, as if he didn't do enough damage last night. Now he's gone an' cost Rey an' Mystico the tag titles. I'm absolutely disgusted by what I've just seen.

Jerry Lawler: You're not alone there JR. It looks like Sheamus will be lucky getting out of here alive t'night.

Jim Ross: If it was up t' me King he wouldn't. Thanks t' him we've got new tag team champions in Daniels an' Kaval, who admittedly can't be blamed f' what happened here t'night, but the bottom line is we have new tag team champions.

John Cena is shown making his way through the back, game face well & truly on.

Jim Ross:
There he is folks, back on Raw f' what might be one night only, John Cena. When we come back it'll be our main event featuring that man right there teaming up with The Undertaker t' take on the two men who cost him the world title last night, Homicide an' the World Champion himself, CM Punk. This folks, you can't afford t' miss.

*Commercial Break*

Looking very pleased with himself, the Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus is walking backstage, but as he turns a corner, he walks right into an angry Eric Bischoff.

Eric Bischoff:
What the hell were you thinking? Why'd you do that? Do you have any idea what you've done? You just cost Rey an' Mystico the tag team titles, an' f' what?

Sheamus: Yeah I do realise as it happens, t'ank you very much.

Eric Bischoff: What, that's it? You. . .

Sheamus: . . . Hold on a second Bischoff. You want someone t' blame fella, look at Rey. He's de one t' blame f' me not winnin' de Rumble last night. He's de one who stopped me bein' both de dubya-dubya-e champion an' Intercontinental Champion at de same time. It's not my fault he had t' pay de price. If dat ain't what y'wanna hear dat's not my problem.

Bischoff can't believe what he heard and shakes his head looking disgusted.

Eric Bischoff:
You really are pathetic you know that? In fact, you know what I'm gonna do?. . .

Bischoff steps to the side as EMT's carry Rey Mysterio towards & past them on a stretcher with Mystico following. He stops at seeing Sheamus and stares right at him, not getting much remorse from The Celtic Warrior as Bischoff stops one of the EMT's.

Eric Bischoff:
How's he doing?

EMT: We don't know f' sure yet. We need t' get him to hospital t' find out how bad it is.

Eric Bischoff: Alright thanks, you guys go.

The EMT catches up with the others and Mystico follows with Sheamus smirking, seemingly enjoying the trouble he's caused, and Bischoff is not amused in the slightest.

Eric Bischoff:
You think is funny do ya? Well let me tell you somethin' champ. You might think you made Rey pay but after what you've done t'night you will too fella.

Bischoff's clearly livid and storms off past Sheamus, leaving the Irishman with something to think about.

*The Main Event*
The Undertaker & John Cena
vs. CM Punk & Homicide

Punk walked out to the stage with a smug smile on his face alongside Homicide, but despite helping Punk to the world title last night he remained his usual serious self. Cena hit the ring before Taker and he didn't wait for his partner as he went right after Punk & Homicide, who sensibly left the ring just before Cena could get at them. Cena was pissed and threw his T-shirt into the crowd without looking into the stands after pulling his shirt off in super quick time. He barely looked at his partner as Taker entered the ring before retreating back to the apron after not getting any acknowledgment or response from Cena. Homicide was paying for his actions with Cena all over him in the beginning, and when Punk finally got in there with Cena, he too felt the brunt of Cena's anger. It came down to those two too, and after hitting a running knee strike in the corner, Punk went for a running bulldog out of it, only for Cena to counter and shove Punk forward, right into the referee and knocking him down. He stayed down too and as a shocked Punk turned round, Cena walked out and caught him with the F-U.

The fans were cheering, but there was no-one to count the fall. Homicide then jumped off the apron and grabbed a steel chair before sliding in the ring. He went right after Cena, but Cena caught him with a right hand. Homicide picked himself back up with Taker stepping over the top rope too. He ran at Homicide and clotheslined him back down, and this time he dropped the chair which Cena picked up. Punk sat up though and pushed Cena back into Taker, knocking The Dead-Man down onto one knee. Punk stood up and aimed a stiff kick at Cena, but he sidestepped it, and then turned round to swing the chair at Punk, but the World Champion ducked and Taker walked right into it, just like last night when Tazz nailed Cena. Taker fell to the mat and Cena looked on in shock and dropped the chair, but Punk quickly turned him round to lift him up for the GTS. The fans booed but Cena quickly slipped down and got Punk up for another F-U when Homicide stood back up.

Cena put Punk down and ran at Homicide to clothesline him over the top, staring down at him as Punk approached from behind to roll him up, using the ropes as leverage as well as holding Cena's shorts with the ref conveniently back in the land of the living to make the count, giving Punk a cheap win. The World Champion quickly slipped out of the ring with "This Fire Burns" blasting out to a ton of heat. Cena stood up, seriously pissed as a smug Punk collected his title as Homicide picked himself back up. They walked round the ring to the ramp with Punk laughing at Cena and then the crowd with Cena watching their every step. Punk turned round on the ramp and lifted his title into the air defiantly. Cena watched furiously, much to Punk's amusement as Taker sat up behind Cena, and as Punk & Homicide headed back through the curtain, Cena turned round and got a death stare from an angry Undertaker, letting Cena know just how angry he was as Raw came to a close.

Winners: CM Punk & Homicide by pinfall.

Jim Ross:
CM Punk's struck lucky t'night but he's got a real fight on his hands Friday night when he defends the world title against John Cena. Cena might've made a mistake here t'night an' if he does that again on Smackdown then we might just see Punk hold on to his title.

Jerry Lawler: The way The Undertaker's looking at 'im JR I think Cena should worry about making it t' Smackdown.

The new WWE Champion, Shawn Michaels is shown walking through the back looking like a very happy man indeed, seemingly on his way to the ring with the WWE title draped over his shoulder.

Jim Ross:
Well when we come back King we're going t' hear from the new WWE Champion. Whatever you do folks, don't go anywhere.

*Commercial Break*

*Video Promo*

"Sexy Boy"

Lilian Garcia:
Please welcome the new WWE Champion, The Heartbreak Kid Shawn MI-CHAELS.

The entire crowd are on their feet as 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels struts out to the stage with the WWE title draped proudly over his rightly shoulder. He stops & looks out into the crowd and drops to his knees at the top of the ramp, doing his trademark pose to a huge pyro explosion behind him. He stands back up with a big smile on his face, slapping hands with the fans as he makes his way down the ramp into the ring, where he spins round like the good old days with confetti & balloons falling from the rafters. The fans are still on their feet applauding as his music stops.

"H-B-K, H-B-K. . ."

Michaels soaks up the ovation, taking it all in as he's passed a microphone by Lilian who leaves the ring for Shawn. The new WWE Champion applauds the fans and they quieten down eventually, allwoing him to speak.

Shawn Michaels:
After over 20 years in this business I thought I'd done it all an' seen it all. . . well I guess I was wrong.

*Pop*

Shawn Michaels: If you asked me this time last week whether I honestly thought I'd be stood here t'night after winning the Royal Rumble getting this reaction from you guys as the new WWE Champion I'd have t' say I was dreaming a fair bit. Don't get me wrong, I've always believed in my ability, but at this stage of my career with the unpredictability of the Rumble match, the odds were against it. Even until yesterday morning I was still thinking that, then I had a realisation. I've known f' a while now that the end of the road might not be that far away an' I said t' myself that I've got take ev'ry last chance I get. Last night was more than a chance. I've been in a lot of Rumble matches in my time but never has the WWE Championship been defended, only once has it been on the line in the Rumble but knowing that the winner automatically goes to the main event of Wrestlemania t' defend the title at Wembley Stadium, the first time Wrestlemania goes outside the States an' Canada, well let's just say I said t' myself, hell I wanna piece o'that.

*Pop*

Shawn Michaels: The main event of Wrestlemania is the place we all wanna be. F' all I knew I might never get the chance t' be in that spot again, let alone as WWE Champion. I knew that last night may well be the last chance I ever got t' get there again I went out last night t' do ev'rything I could t' make that happen.

*More Cheers*

Shawn Michaels: Even when I drew the number two spot I stayed positive. I've done it from the start, albeit a long time ago but I kept that faith, that belief I could go all the way, an' I did, an' now I stand here in front of all you people who've supported me all this time as the WWE Champion one more time.

*Big Pop*

Shawn Michaels: It means more t' me than you can possibly imagine, standing here in front of all the people who made me the man I am t'day, an' that helped spur me on last night. When it came down to just me an' The Undertaker like it did two years ago, I thought here we go again, but the support you guys gave me pushed me over the line. Now I've got the chance t' headline the 25th anniversary of Wrestlemania in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley where ironically only me an' The Dead-Man competed over 15 years ago at Summerslam. That was a great night that'll live me f'ever an' I can't wait t' go back there after all this time. It's been a wild ride since then. I've had a lot o'highs an' a few lows, an' hand on heart I can honestly say, I've had 24 hours t' think about but last night was the biggest vict'ry of this long long career.

*Pop*

Shawn Michaels: Don't get me wrong. I've had some great moments in my career but last night, going from the start t' the finish, outlasting 29 men, being WWE champion again an' going t' the main event of Wrestlemania, it doesn't get any better than that.

*More Cheers*

Shawn Michaels: I had t' dig deeper than ever before but it was so worth it. When people said Triple H had no chance of going the distance t' retain the title, they said it f' a reason 'cause it was tough believe you me, but I got there. I fought all the way to the end an' made the impossible possible t' keep the dream. . .

"TIME T' PLAY THE GAME. . ."

The former WWE Champion, Triple H strolls out to the stage in jeans and a T-shirt to a barrage of boos as he stares down furiously at Michaels, and The Heartbreak Kid turns to look up at his former best friend giving him the dirtiest of looks. The crowd continue to boo the livid former champion as he slowly makes his way down to the ring, not taking his eyes off the new owner of the title, and Michaels too watches him all the way up the steps and into the ring. The Game stands up and gives him the eyes before kicking his way through some balloons to get a microphone of his own. He's passed one and he turns back to walk right up to Michaels, breathing heavily as his music stops, bringing out the boos as he just about manages to stop himself attacking Shawn, who stands there cool as ice looking back at The Game. He takes a deep breath and steps back, still struggling to keep his composure.

Shawn Michaels:
Well I guess you've not come out here t' give your old buddy a pat on the back, so are we gonna get all this over an' done with or what?

Triple H: Get all this over an' done with? Shawn, I don't think you understand this situation. This might be your dream, your last chapter or however it was you put it but this isn't something we settle here an' now then just move on. You're standing there with my title, an' this dream of yours you're in right now, regardless of our hist'ry is the start of the worst nightmare you'll ever have.

Michaels realises just how serious The Game is and the smile is fading fast.

Triple H:
Last night I was forced into a position no one else has ever been in, f' good reason. Expecting anyone to defend the WWE Championship in the Royal Rumble, let alone as the number one entry is beyond unreasonable, yet I came that close to doing just that. Ev'ryone wrote me off, ev'ryone, but I knew if anyone could do it it was me. I gave it ev'rything, absolutely ev'rything. I fell that little bit short but it doesn't mean it's over Shawn, not by a long shot. You've been in this business long enough t' know that ev'ry champion has a rematch clause in their contract, and you can talk all about how you're going to fulfil this last dream of main eventing Wrestlemania as the WWE Champion, but Shawn you're going t' be defending it against me.

*Major Heat*

The Game gives Shawn the eyes again, and Michaels is all business now too as he stares back at Trips.

Triple H:
The rematch is watertight, an' since you're guaranteed to defend the title at Wrestlemania, that means there's only person you can defend it against. . .

Shawn Michaels: . . . Hun'er, I honestly mean ev'ry word I'm about t' say. . . I hope that happens.

*Pop*

Shawn Michaels: We might not be the best of friends as we once were, an' since I'm officially a Raw superstar again the thought of you an' I dancing on the grandest stage of them all, well it just makes this all even better.

Michaels extends his hand to Trips who looks shocked & appalled.

Triple H:
Let me make something clear t' you Shawn. This isn't going t' be about two long time friends battling it out f' the right to be called champion. Now you have my title, this is personal, and through hell or high water I won't stop until it's back around my waist.

*Heat*

Triple H: And it will be Shawn, mark my words. You might've overcome the odds last night but lightning won't strike twice. That title will be my mine again, even if that means one of us gets seriously hurt, that's the price that we'll have t' pay.

Shawn Michaels: Hun'er I'm not gonna stand here an' say anything other than that right now I'm damn proud t' be the WWE Champion, but at the same time I have perspective. There's nothing better in this business than bein' right at the top. All my career it's all been about getting t' this level. With you, the last year it's taken over your whole life. It's not healthy my man. Look at what it's cost you. You've lost your friends, your wife an' your kids. There are some things worth more than this title Hun'er, an' now you don't even have that.

The Game stares right at Michaels, not appreciating in the slightest what Shawn's trying to say.

Shawn Michaels:
Becoming a father changed my life. From that day family came first second an' third. Eventually you're gonna realise that an' the sooner the better before it's too late.

Triple H: I don't need a lecture. The only concern you should have Shawn is for your own well being. You know better than anyone what I'm capable of, what I've done t' people, an' at this stage of your career, the last person you wanna piss off is me.

Shawn Michaels: You wanna tell it like it is, lay it all on the line, fine let's do it. Friends or not I see a man who's sacrificed his family because of an obsession, an unhealthy obsession. You're obsessed with the WWE Championship. It made you turn your back on two of your best friends in Ric Flair an' Batista. You forced them out of this business an' f' what? This title. It's this title that's brought you out here t'night, but it's not just that you don't have it anymore. It's written all over your face Jack. You're just not obsessed with getting this title back. It's eating you up that I did what ev'ryone said you couldn't. Even you said many time over the last few weeks that it couldn't be done, that no one could go all the way an' win the Royal Rumble, but low an' behold it happens, just not t' you. Yours truly, not f' the first time went the whole way an' this time I happened t' walk out WWE Champion, an' you my man you've gotta get over it, because as you put it, through hell or high water I'll do what it takes t' keep this around my waist.

*Big Pop*

Triple H: Don't you worry about me Shawn. I will deal with it. I'm going t' deal with it right now.

The Game drops his microphone and pulls off his T-shirt, and walks right up to The Heartbreak Kid, getting right in his face with Michaels standing firm, not intimidated at all.

?:
Hold it right there Hun'er.

A pop breaks from the crowd as Eric Bischoff paces out from the back with a microphone in hand and Triple H turns round looking up furiously at him.

Eric Bischoff:
Trust me Hun'er you don't wanna do that t'night. You'll wanna hear what I've got t' say.

The Game & Michaels both look up, curious as to what Bischoff has to say.

Eric Bischoff:
I couldn't help but hear you talk about this watertight rematch clause you plan on using. See in theory you were right. However in exceptional circumstances that clause can be declared void, and I feel I must advise you that these circumstances include putting your hands on a referee, a fan or your boss.

The fans cheer again, feeling sure they know what this means with The Game feeling the same way as he glares up staring daggers at Bischoff.

Eric Bischoff:
Now seeing as you put your hands on me several weeks ago, that means only one thing, I have ev'ry right to declare your rematch null an' void, and that's exactly what I've done.

*Huge Pop*

The fans are making a racket as Triple H stomps over to the ropes and mouths something up at Bischoff, absolutely furious at having his rematch taken off him.

Eric Bischoff:
What that means is, we need to determine who will challenge Shawn at Wrestlemania for the WWE Championship. In three weeks we'll find out who that'll be, because at No Way Out there will be a number one contender match. Those superstars involved will be determined by three qualifying matches that will take place right here next week. After what we saw earlier t'night, The Big Show an' Chris Jericho will go one-on-one with no count outs.

*Pop*

Eric Bischoff: That way there's nowhere f' Jericho t' run. . . It's also going t' be The Undertaker going one-on-one with someone who earlier on stuck his nose where it wasn't wan'ed in the Intercontinental Champion Sheamus.

*Another Pop*

Eric Bischoff: That leaves just one match, an' Hun'er that involves you. You're gonna be facing the man who last night eliminated you from the Royal Rumble and who you then attacked. If you're having problems with who that is, let me intr'duce t' you just who you'll face next week.

Bischoff steps to the side with The Game looking up at him, still furious.

"I hear voices in my head. . ."

The crowd goes nuts as Randy Orton slowly walks out to the stage and stares down intently at Triple H. The Game stares back with Michaels looking on behind him in the middle of the ring. Orton now walks down the ramp to midway and stops, getting a closer look at Trips and gives him the eyes, sending him a clear message going into next week as the show comes to a close with Orton & Triple H staring intently at each other and The Heartbreak Kid standing in the shadows watching.

>HBK Returns to Raw and the Challengers Line Up; New Tag Team Champions!<

The new WWE Champion, Shawn Michaels headed to Raw last night to celebrate his incredible success in the Royal Rumble 24 hours earlier and confirmed that he will be returning to Raw permanently in the build up to his defence of the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania XXV.

He quickly learnt that the former champion, Triple H will be going all out to reclaim the title, however he won't be getting his rematch at Wrestlemania as he thought. Eric Bischoff was quick to let him know that after the pedigree on the Head of Authority several weeks ago now, he was declaring The Game's rematch clause void. He then announced that next week on Raw there will be three matches that will determine who will go to No Way Out in a triple threat match to battle it out for the right to face The Heartbreak Kid at Wrestlemania.

After walking out of his match with The Big Show earlier on in the evening, Chris Jericho will meet The Largest Athlete in the World again next Monday night in a match with no count outs. The Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus will lock horns with The Undertaker after getting on the wrong side of Bischoff when he attacked Rey Mysterio during the World Tag Team title match that saw Rey & Mystico lose the titles to The Epitome of Excellence. The Celtic Warrior was furious with Mysterio for eliminating him at the Rumble, ruining his plan of leaving Wrestlemania with both the WWE & Intercontinental Championships. To round off the night we'll see Randy Orton & Triple H battle it out, and after The Viper's return to Raw several weeks ago with The Game his target it should be an incredible contest you can't afford to miss. Triple H will have to go through the man who eliminated him at the Rumble and the man he put on the shelf at the Survivor Series, but we've already seen Orton's got his sights set on payback at The Game's expense. It'll be a match you won't want to miss.

>Cena & Punk's Final Encounter This Friday!<

Stephanie McMahon wasn't at all happy last night when she told the world that after yet another controversial ending to a John Cena/CM Punk World Heavyweight Championship match, they will collide one more time this week on Smackdown in what she said will be their final encounter.

She also stated she will address Tazz's role in that match this Friday night, however she said that if she interferes in any way during the title match, Punk will automatically retain the title and she will be stripped of her title as Executive Vice-President. Cena & Punk met in tag team action last night when Cena joined forces with The Undertaker to take on Punk and the man who helped Punk Sunday at the Rumble, Homicide. Punk again got one over on Cena when he ducked a chair shot aimed for him which then hit The Undertaker. The distraction allowed Punk to sneak a victory on Cena, but will he be victorious on Friday when he defends the world title against Cena?

>DiBiase Looking for a Breakthrough at No Way Out<

Jealousy & bitterness rose to the surface at the Royal Rumble when Ted DiBiase came face-to-face with the 'Breakthrough Star of 2008' Matt Sydal, so much so that the former Intercontinental Champion attacked the King of the Ring before he was due to defend the United States Championship against Dolph Ziggler.

The assault left Sydal needing medical attention and he had his ribs taped just minutes before his title defence that resulted him in bravely losing after an incredible effort under the circumstances. His night wasn't over though and he was desperate to get his hands on DiBiase, and he got some payback when he followed Ted out to the ring for the Royal Rumble match, catching DiBiase's attention & distracting him long enough for Bob Backlund to quickly eliminate him, leaving DiBiase fuming.

He was still livid last night and blamed Sydal for costing him the WWE Championship, but one man who's also been on the end of a backstage attack at the hands of DiBiase wasn't about to let him get away with it. Eric Bischoff told DiBiase that there would be consequences for his part in Sydal losing the United States title when he meets Sydal one-on-one at No Way Out. Sydal will be cleared to compete by that time and we'll find out for certain who the Breakthrough Star of Year was when they collide head on.

Friday Night 'Live' Smackdown
Friday 23rd January 2009 - Preview!
Live from the Crisler Arena
Ann Arbor, Michigan

There's been no lack of controversy when it comes to John Cena, CM Punk and the World Heavyweight Championship lately, but at the Royal Rumble this past Sunday night that was all supposed to come to an end. After forfeiting the title a month ago having declared his unease at carrying the title due to Stephanie McMahon screwing Punk, Cena was looking to win it fair & square. He didn't however, and neither did Punk. Once again we saw the match end in controversial circumstances when Raw's Homicide stormed the ring to break up the STFU on Punk before working together on Cena. The General Manager of Smackdown, Tazz had seen enough and made his way to the ring to put an end to it, only he ended up getting into it with Punk, so much so he swung a steel chair he took from Punk at him. Punk ducked though and Cena walked right into it, all but sealing Punk's victory. Tazz couldn't believe it and left the ring furious with himself, leaving Cena on a plate, but he wasn't done there as he stopped Stephanie getting to the ring, and she could only look on as Punk went on to finish Cena off with the GTS to become a two-time World Heavyweight Champion.

Then on Raw Monday night Stephanie didn't waste any time in announcing that she will be dealing with Tazz's actions this Friday night live in Ann Arbor, Michigan. However that's not all she announced. She stated that this week live on Smackdown, due to the outside interference at the Rumble, Punk will defend his title against Cena in what will be their final encounter. She also said that she will be at ringside to make sure there's no interference and that after talking with the board, if she so much as interferes in the match, not only will Punk automatically retain his title, she will be removed from her role as Executive Vice-President and the Board of Directors.

We're all set for a title collision without controversy but will that be the case? Cena & Punk also met in a tag team match on Raw this past Monday night when Punk teamed up with the man who helped him at the Rumble in Homicide to take on Cena & The Undertaker. It was a case of déjà vu too as this time Punk ducked a chair shot from Cena that hit The Undertaker, and Punk quickly rolled Cena up to get the win. Can Punk beat Cena for the third time this week, or will it be third time lucky for Cena? Whatever you do you won't want to miss their final encounter, and what will Stephanie have to say to Tazz? Make sure you tune in to find out.

Stephanie wasn't the only one left angry by events at the Royal Rumble, not by a long shot. 'The Rated-R Superstar' Edge was eliminated in the Rumble match won by Shawn Michaels, who has now returned to Raw having become the WWE Champion by virtue of winning the Rumble. Edge was furious at being eliminated by his brother Christian, just 48 hours after beating Captain Charisma on Smackdown. He'll have a chance to take out his anger on one of Smackdown's rising stars, Bryan Danielson this week, a man who beat Edge not so long ago after a distraction from Christian. It won't be an easy match for an angry Edge, that's for sure.

One person who can claim to be even more unfortunate than John Cena is the now former United States Champion and current King of the Ring, Matt Sydal. He was attacked before his match by a bitter Ted DiBiase, who again complained about Sydal beating him to the Slammy award for Breakthrough Star of the Year. Sydal ignored Ted's moaning and was jumped because of it, leading to him needing his ribs taped just moments before his United States title defence against Dolph Ziggler. Bravely he went on to defend the title and made an incredible effort in doing so, eventually falling short to a determined Ziggler. We'll see the new United States Champion in action this week but Sydal won't be in action until No Way Out in little over two weeks. We heard Eric Bischoff announce on Raw that he will meet Ted DiBiase one-on-one at the final pay-per-view before Wrestlemania. Will Sydal be on Smackdown this week to talk about that match?

The final title defence at the Rumble was by Paul London & Brian Kendrick when they put the WWE tag team titles on the line for the first time after only winning them a couple of weeks ago from The Empire. The British duo got their rematch with William Regal & Katie Lee banned from ringside, and London & Kendrick showed that their win two weeks back wasn't a fluke by overcoming Wade Barrett & Drew McIntyre in an intense battle to the end. The reunion of London & Kendrick is very much for real!

For all this & more make you sure you tune into Smackdown this week with the biggest main event in recent memory. You'd be a fool not to!

From the Royal Rumble!

*From Raw Monday Night

A mixed reaction breaks out as the Executive Vice-President, Stephanie McMahon walks out to the stage with a microphone in hand, and she doesn't look at all happy.

Stephanie McMahon:

Michael Cole:
Welcome all to Friday Night Smackdown. We're live from Ann Arbor Michigan where t'night, just five nights after they met at the Royal Rumble for the World Heavyweight Championship, CM Punk an' John Cena will go one-on-one for the last time. However, as she said herself on Raw this past Monday night, if Stephanie McMahon is involved in the match in any way shape or form, not only will she be removed from the board and her position as the Executive Vice-President of the WWE but CM Punk will automatically retain the title. She will be at ringside though to ensure there's no repeat of Sunday night. There's no question about it, it's going t' be a match f' the ages t'night.

Matt Striker: Absolutely right, an' let's not f'get she promised to address Tazz's role in. . .

"I'm All Grown Up Now"

Here comes Stephanie McMahon, walking with purpose down to the ring with a confident smile on her face, not worried at all it would seem.

Michael Cole:
Well it looks like we won't have t' wait long, and it looks like she has business in mind.

Matt Striker: Doesn't she always Michael?

Michael Cole: That's true!

Stephanie steps inside the ring and picks a microphone up off the apron as she enters, walking into the centre of the ring and briefly looking up at the Wrestlemania sign hanging above the ring. Her music stops, bringing out a mixed reaction for the Executive Vice-President.

Stephanie McMahon:
I'm sure you all know by now if you didn't already having just seen the footage that right here t'night, CM Punk will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena.

*Big Pop*

Stephanie McMahon: It's not of'en we have the world title defended on Smackdown but it will be t'night, however I'm not out here right now to talk about t'night's main event. I'm out here t' talk about what's led to it. Again the footage from the Royal Rumble was very clear. The purpose of that match was to determine an undisputed World Champion, the words of the man who made the match, the General Manager of Smackdown, Tazz.

*Mixed*

Stephanie McMahon: Instead of me speculating or commenting on his actions Sunday night, I'm going to invite him down here so he can explain for himself. So with that said, Tazz will you please make your way down here, now?

Stephanie pulls the microphone away from her mouth and looks up at the stage, waiting for Tazz.

"13"

She doesn't have to wait long as Tazz walks out to the stage to a mixed response, stopping at the top of the stage to look into the crowd before walking down the ramp to the ring looking very serious indeed. He enters the ring and walks right past Steph to get a microphone. His music cuts and he turns back to face Stephanie, not looking too happy with the situation he finds himself in.

Tazz:
Not wastin' any time huh? Cool with me. . . You wanna know what happened Sunday? Without bein' disrespectful I think you just saw again what happened. You don't need me to explain what happened but I guess it's best I tell ya. It's real simple Steph. Like these people I was sat back watchin' the match when that punk from Raw jumped in the ring an' on top o'Cena. I went down there t' get him out of there an' let Cena an' Punk fight it out as planned f' the world title. Then yeah it got a bit messy. Punk started doing what he does his best in mouthing off an' I snapped. I shouldn't have but I did. It happens, but I think anyone can see that I didn't mean t' hit Cena. Yeah it cost 'im the match but it was an accident an' I know you know that, an' I know John does too. I realised what I'd done an' got the hell out of there before it got more out o'control, but it needs t' be said before y'play the blame game Steph, I ain't happy about it either believe me. That's not the way I wan'ed this t' play out. I sure as hell didn't wanna get involved an' be a part of it. Unfortunately I was an' I apologise f' that but I went down there t' do the right thing. . .

Stephanie McMahon: . . . That might be the case but that doesn't explain why you put your hands on me. Like you I was going t' make things right, but yet again we find ourselves in this situation. . .

Tazz: . . . Whoa whoa whoa, let me stop y'there Steph. We. . . You're a hypocrite. You're the reason we're in this mess. It's your fault we had t' have this match at the Rumble in the first place. You were the one who screwed Punk out o'the title at Night of Champions. T' this day I'm not sure why other than the fact you clearly don't like the guy. T' be honest I don't either. He's got a big mouth, no doubt, but that's no reason t' screw him out o'the title. As f' me puttin' my hands on you Sunday, I stopped you doin' somethin' stupid like you did last month. The diff'rence between me an' you again Steph was I wan'ed t' do the right thing. You, you wan'ed t' do the right thing f' you. It doesn't matter how many people 'ave said it over the last month, you just don't listen. All this between Cena an' Punk, the world title, it's all on you, no one else. If it wasn't f' you we wouldn't even 'ave needed t' have that match Sunday an' I resent you questioning my actions.

Stephanie McMahon: I'm sorry t' hear that. Unfortunately, seeing how you work f' me an' my family, you answer directly to us. After the events of Sunday night, I have to ask these questions. . .

Tazz: Yeah maybe y'do but given your role in all this, you're the last person who should be askin' the questions. It was pretty clear on Raw Monday night that you were gonna come out here an' try an' put all the blame on me f' what happened, f' Punk gettin' the title you clearly don't want him t' have. I was sat at home with my family an' both my wife an' my kids asked me if I was gonna be fired. I might be wrong but I'm sure as hell you're lookin' f' a scapegoat. . .

Stephanie McMahon: . . . That's not what. . .

Tazz: . . . I'm not done.

Stephanie & Tazz stare intently at each other.

Tazz:
I've thought about it all week. Do I wanna keep puttin' myself through this? One thing's f' sure. You're not gonna stop 'til Punk's lost that title an' I've gotta ask myself if this is all worth it? F' all I know what's gone on the last month is nothin' compared t' what else you might do. You've been throwin' y'weight around nonstop no matter what people say an' I'm sick of it. I've had about as much as I can take. You're the one turning this show into a joke. If you just stayed backstage things would be diff'rent but I know that's not gonna happen. When that clicked I knew what I had t' do. It pains me t' say this but the passion I had f' this job, it's gone thanks t' you. . .

Stephanie McMahon: . . . Let me stop you right there. You've had your say, now I'll have my mine. Like Punk, my ex-husband an' ev'ryone else, you answer t' me. I'm the one who has t' make these difficult decisions, but when you put your hands on me you made this decision really easy. Tazz. . .

Tazz: . . . Oh no you don't. I was gonna say somethin' before you in'errupted me, an' I'm sure as hell not having you fire me. My mind was made up Monday night. Steph, I quit.

The crowd's split, some cheering and some booing as Tazz stares right at Steph.

Tazz:
I sure as hell didn't wanna do this, an' until you started throwin' y'weight around I loved this job. I love this business but you've killed it f' me an' the way you're goin' you're gonna ruin it f' a whole lot more people who love it like I do. I'm tellin' you this f' your own sake before you kill this show. Take a long hard look in the mirror, 'cause if you carry on the way you are, I don't know when but you'll end up very very sorry.

The now former General Manager slams the microphone down and walks past Steph, leaving her with something to think about as he loosens his tie and unbuttons his cuffs. Steph watches him leave, not looking so happy now having been somewhat put in her place.

Michael Cole:
Wow, that was a lot t' take in at the top of the show.

Matt Striker: You can say that again, and you have to wonder if Stephanie will have listened to anything Tazz said, because there's a lot of people who agree with him.

Michael Cole: Well judging from what we've seen lately I don't think she listens to anyone, as much as she should.

*Video Recap*
From Night of Champions!

Punk escapes again, slipping down Cena’s back and he shoves him right into Tazz, knocking the GM down and rolling towards the apron after clashing heads with Cena. The challenger looks shaky too and Punk looks to take full advantage, spinning him round in a flash, trying to lift him up for the GTS!!!. . . . . Cena doesn’t let him and jumps down to his feet straight away to lift Punk off his feet and onto his shoulders, this time connecting with the F-U!!!. . . . .

It’s crazy loud in the arena with the ref & Tazz still down as Cena goes for the cover anyway, hooking both legs, forgetting there’s no-one there to make the count. A pop breaks out in the crowd as Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley walks down the ramp, surprising Cena as he sits up, and as she enters the ring, she tells him to make the cover. Cena does just that and Stephanie makes her way across to make the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

NO! Punk gets his shoulder up to a mixed reaction, not going down too well with Stephanie who doesn’t look happy as she stands up. Cena takes it on the chin though and shifts round to Punk’s legs. He tries to turn him over for the STFU but Punk kicks up at him, shoving Cena back and down to the mat. Cena’s up quickly though and goes back to Punk, but the World Champion sits up in a flash and pulls Cena down into a SMALL PACKAGE!! . . . . .

1. . . . .

. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

Cena kicks out after a slow count and Punk sits up staring angrily at Stephanie who stares back, guilt free as Cena makes his way back up. Punk gets back up too, walking right into an irish whip and he manages to grab onto the top rope. He holds onto them and Cena runs at him, into a raised boot from Punk who steps out to nail him with a THUNDEROUS ROUNDHOUSE KICK!!!. . . . . Cena falls in a heap and Punk goes for the cover, dropping to his knees and hooking both legs as Stephanie takes her time making her away across to make the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

NO!! Cena gets the shoulder up after another slow count from Stephanie and Punk’s livid, and so are some of the crowd. There are some cheers too as Punk stands up and gets into it with Steph, having a right go at her and he gets a slap to the chops for his troubles as Cena sits up. Punk holds his cheek and nods his head with a smirk on his face. He looks into the crowd with Steph now looking a little uneasy. He turns back and she back tracks away from him as Cena makes it back up.

Steph looks relieved as she looks over Punk’s shoulder, setting off alarm bells for the World Champion who turns round to see Cena running at him and he ducks. Cena just manages to stop before he runs into Steph, but Punk spins him round in a flash to lift him up onto his shoulders and connects with the GTS!!!. . . . . Punk drops to his knees with a smile on his face to make the cover, but Stephanie stands still, refusing to count the fall to a ton of heat with some cheers mixed in. Punk leans back and looks over at her standing there without a care in the world.

The World Champion can’t believe it and stands up, taking his time and walking menacingly towards her. With the crowd going crazy he gets right in her face, having a real go at her and she gives it back, standing her ground as Cena comes round, starting to sit up. Stephanie again tries to slap Punk but he blocks it this time and shakes his head at her, and she realises she might just’ve made a mistake. Punk mouths something to her and lifts her up onto his shoulders, setting her up for the GTS!!!. . . . . You can’t hear yourself think.

It’s deafening in the arena as Punk turns round with Steph up on his shoulders, but Tazz is back on his feet and pulls her down, pissing Punk off no end who scoops Tazz up off his feet and nails him with the GTS!!!. . . . . Punk stares down coldly at the fallen General Manager with contempt, then turns his head to Stephanie who looks very worried. Punk goes to grab her again but Cena spins him round, catching him off guard to lift him up off the mat and send him crashing into the canvas with the F-U!!!. . . . . The crowd are split as Cena goes for the cover in a hurry and Steph darts across to make the count. . . . .

1. 2. 3.

Steph makes an insanely quick count, giving Cena the win and the world title, drawing a ton of heat in the arena. She goes to get the world title as Cena sits up in shock, not sure what to make of what’s just happened. Stephanie, without a shred of remorse walks over to him with the title and holds it out to him, and he reluctantly takes it in his hand and stands up with “My Time is Now” playing.

Steph grabs his arm and lifts it up in the air with Cena still unsure of how to deal with what’s gone on. Steph takes her leave and heads back up the ramp without looking back as Cena looks into the crowd with the world title in hand, clueless how to react as Punk sits up with the ref & Tazz still starting to stir. Punk’s livid as he looks up at Steph walking through the curtain, then turns to Cena who looks almost apologetic as the show comes to a close with Punk absolutely livid.

Michael Cole: Welcome back t' Smackdown where the show's barely started, but we've just seen our general manager quit before he was fired. We knew we'd be in for an explosive show t'night with John Cena meeting CM Punk one last time for the World Heavyweight Championship. After what we've just seen I'm still in shock Matt, an' we've still got a lot more t' come. Who knows what'll happen t'night?

Tazz is shown walking through the back, dragging his jacket over his shoulder with the weight of the world lifted off him, but suddenly he stops, looking a tad surprised. The camera zooms out and there stands the World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk. There's some slight tension but both look fairly relaxed, Punk (in his ring gear and a trademark T-shirt) especially with the world title draped proudly over his shoulder again.

CM Punk:
I. . . I don't think I thought I'd ever say this, but what you just said out there, I respect you telling her like it is. An' f' what it's worth you did the right thing Sunday holding her back like y'did. She needs t' be put her in place. Whether you've done that or not t'night I guess we'll see.

Tazz: Well it's out o'my hands now.

CM Punk: Maybe so, but if she keeps tryin' t' screw me over, it's not out of mine.

You can tell Punk means it and he taps Tazz on the shoulder as he walks past him, leaving the former GM there to ponder his thoughts.

*Video Recap*
From Last Week!

The Diva's Champion, Beth Phoenix is having photos taken of her backstage, posing with her title. The photographer tells her to turn the side a bit and into the scene walks O.D.B. She's sipping from her flask and watches, making Beth very uneasy, and O.D.B. starts sn-iggering.

O.D.B.:
Hey, if you want a good shot of her, you should've got one last week when I put her on her ass.

O.D.B. takes another sip from her flask and Beth looks pissed off.

Beth Phoenix:
Can we stop f' a minute?

The Glamazon walks right up to O.D.B.

Beth Phoenix:
Y'know you were really tough last week attacking me from behind. How about you try your luck t'night, only I won't be turning around?

O.D.B. doesn't look happy at all.

O.D.B.:
Are you calling me a coward?

Beth Phoenix: Well that's not exactly what I said but if the hat fits.

O.D.B.: I'm not wearing a hat.

Beth laughs as O.D.B. checks to make sure she hasn't got a hat on her head, then sees Beth laughing at her, and it doesn't go down well.

O.D.B.:
I hope you ain't laughing at me bitch, not if you want your ass kicked again.

Beth Phoenix: That's not gonna happen unless I turn around is it bitch?

O.D.B. sn-iggers again and looks at the photographer, then nails Beth with a right hand, putting the Diva's Champion on the floor. The photographer looks shocked as Beth gets right back up and fights back, shoving each other around into the wall. A number of officials race in and try to break it up as they hit the floor and roll around, but they manage to pull them off each other.

Beth Phoenix:
Come on you crazy bitch.

O.D.B.: Yeah? Bring it.

The officials struggle to keep them apart but just about manage to with the two feisty divas desperately trying to get at each other.

*The Opening Match*
Mickie James & Maria
vs. O.D,B. & Jillian Hall

ODB didn't really pay too much attention to her partner, blind tagging in at one point early on and turning her back on an unhappy Jilllian. Mickie stood up to ODB all the way though and came so close to getting a three count when she stepped out of the corner when ODB went looking for a body avalanche. ODB crashed into the pads and turned in a spin into a Mick Kick but managed to get her foot on the rope to hang on in there. Mickie was stunned and tagged Maria who watched ODB stand up in the corner, using the ropes to help get back up.

Maria then ran across the ring and hit a clothesline, then tried another after turning back to run the ropes, but ODB caught her with a spear. Maria was all but out and the angry ODB dragged her back up, finishing her off with a fireman's carry cutter to get the win. Mickie was disappointed on the apron but Jillian celebrated like mad as she entered the ring. ODB looked at her like she was a freak, and when Jillian tried to raise her hand she shoved her away. Mickie looked stunned as she checked on Maria, as after Jillian questioned her, ODB took her head off with a massive clothesline.

ODB then turned round and Mickie caught her attention, starting to look very uneasy, even more so as ODB started walking towards her. "Glamazon" hit and the Diva's Champion, Beth Phoenix made her way out into the arena, pissing ODB off no end. She watched Beth all the way down to the ring, and The Glamazon stood in front of Mickie, then dared ODB to fight her. The fans were well behind Beth, not going down well with the pissed off ODB who left the ring in a huff, turning round and looking back furiously at the Diva's Champion as Maria sat up with Beth & Mickie helping her up.

Winners: O.D.B. & Jillian Hall by pinfall.

Michael Cole: If you didn't think ODB was crazy already, well I don't think there's any doubt anymore.

Matt Striker: She's crazy but alright but she can go Michael, and I think Beth realises that too. When these two finally meet I think we'll see one hell of a fight.

We're taken backstage and the new smug looking United States Champion, Dolph Ziggler is walking through the back ready for action.

Michael Cole:
When we come back folks, the new United States Champion Dolph Ziggler will be in action. We'll be back in just a few minutes.

*Video Recap*
From the Royal Rumble!

*Match #2*
Non-Title Match
Santino Marella vs. Dolph Ziggler

The new United States Champion entered the arena to a chorus of boos while Santino got a very warm welcome. Ziggler though was fired up and started aggressively, but he didn't have it all his own way. He thought he was on the verge of victory when he locked in a sleeper, but the Italian managed to hold on to the shock of everyone, Dolph especially. He held his arm up when the ref let go for the third time and then fought free with elbow shots, swinging them back into Ziggler. Dolph was livid and swung a wild right, only for Santino to duck it and catch him with a sit-out jawbreaker.

The crowd were cheering but not for long when Ziggler got his shoulder up at two. Santino went up top and connected with a diving headbutt, only for Dolph to get his shoulder up again at two. The fans were loving it, willing Santino on as he urged the weary United States Champion back up. Dolph staggered into Santino's path for a rolling cutter, but he pulled back and shoved Santino into the ropes. The Italian grabbed on to them and held on, pissing Dolph off again, so much so he ran at Santino into a raised boot.

It sent him staggering away from the ropes, but as Santino ran out at him, Ziggler exploded with a super kick. He sat up with a face like thunder and got his breath back, not taking his eyes off Santino as he slowly came round. The United States Champion slipped behind him and stalked him, planting him as he clawed his way back up with the Zig Zag to get the three count and the win. He got his arm raised and lifted his title up in the air, standing there defiantly before going to get a microphone, angrily calling for one.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler by pinfall.

Dolph Ziggler: All I've heard all week is how Matt Sydal should still be the United States, how he was attacked before the match and how he shouldn't have gone ahead with the match. The fact is none of that is my fault. I wasn't the one who attacked him. It had nothing t' do with me. Those people who say I shouldn't be the United States Champion, I've beaten Sydal three times. That's three more times than he's beaten me. I deserve this title. I deserve this title more than Matt Sydal f' that fact alone. I didn't beat an injured opponent t'night, an' if Sydal wants a rematch I'll be ready. Whenever you want it Matt, fine by me, only you won't get the title back, I'll make it four out of four an' no one will doubt me anymore.

"Perfection" hits again and Ziggler throws the microphone down to raise his title defiantly up in the air to a lot of boos from the Ann Arbor crowd.

Michael Cole:
As much as I don't particularly like him Matt, Dolph has a point. It was Ted DiBiase who was responsible for the attack on Matt Sydal, and like he said, Dolph holds three consecutive wins over Sydal. There's no doubt that Sydal can feel very hard done by, but I don't agree that Ziggler doesn't deserve t' be the United States Champion.

Matt Striker: I agree. It was wrong what happened to Sydal at the Royal Rumble but Dolph Ziggler has been on a role f' a while now. He did what he had to Sunday, however I'm sure there'll be a rematch sometime soon.

*Video Recap*
From the Royal Rumble!

___________________________________________________________________________________

Michael Cole: Still t' come t'night it'll be the biggest main event we've had in a long time on Smackdown as CM Punk defends his newly won World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena in what will be their final encounter. Given ev'rything that's happened between these two lately who knows what will happen t'night. What we do know though is that Stephanie McMahon gets involved, Punk will automatically retain the title and she will be removed from the board of directors. There's so so much at stake t'night you can't afford t' miss it.

"Realeza"

The former rookie of CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio (Ramirez now dropped from his name) walks out to the stage in trousers and an expensive looking shirt, stopping at the top of the stage to give the fans booing him a dirty look. He heads off down the ramp, still giving the fans dirty looks as he gets to the steps and heads into the ring, picking up a microphone in the process, and the fans continue booing him as he enters the ring with his music coming to a halt.

Alberto Del Rio:
I've been in the WWE for a few months now and I can't believe what I've seen. The worrying thing is it's getting worse. The treatment of the World Heavyweight Champion is a disgrace. It makes me sick that he gets no respect from you people or Stephanie McMahon. Where I come from this kind of thing doesn't happen. This doesn't happen in Mexico. For instance, we as wrestlers are treated with respect.

*Heat*

Alberto Del Rio: There's no interference from stupid women who have no idea what they're doing. In Mexico we go out and wrestle. That's it and we get respect from the fans, not like in America. You people have no respect for talented wrestlers like myself, like CM Punk. You don't know what true wrestling is, and neither do the people running the company.

*More Boos*

Alberto Del Rio: All you people have done is boo me. You people should respect me and my family. We are legends in my country. We are never treated like this. Wrestling is in my blood and I shouldn't have to put up with this.

"YOU SUCK, YOU SUCK!"

"Chavo Ardiente"

More boos break out as Chavo Guerrero walks out into the arena, dressed smartly like Del Rio. He too gives the fans dirty looks as he walks down to the ring, collecting a microphone too as he gets in, shaking hands with Del Rio as his music is cut by the guys in the truck.

Chavo Guerrero:
F'give me for interrupting but having heard what you were saying I had to come out here and tell these people that you're exactly right about ev'rything you've said. It's been this way f' years. Don't get me wrong, Stephanie McMahon's made things a whole lot worse recently, but generally speaking these people don't appreciate talent or have the same respect for the business like real wrestling fans in Mexico do.

*Ton of Heat*

Chavo Guerrero: You people don't like to be told the truth. You never have. You can't look past the fact that anything that isn't American is better than what you have in this country of yours. The arrogance you people have is sickening. Back home like Alberto, I too with my family are held in the highest regard by the real wrestling fans. They respect me, my family, Alberto's too and all our accomplishments. They don't cheer people who spit beer on others an' flip them off. They respect what we do in the squared circle. You people don't realise just how lucky you are t' have two descendants of Mexican wrestling royalty standing before you in this ring.

*Major Heat*

Chavo Guerrero: Again, you've proved my point. You can't handle the truth. Why else do you think ev'ry other country in the world despises America? Your arrogance never fails to amaze me. I. . .

"On A Mission"

The collective we know as The Empire (Wade Barrett, Drew McIntyre, William Regal & Katie Lee) walk out to the stage to more heat, not looking in the best of moods either. Barrett & McIntyre are in their ring gear and they walk down the ramp with Regal following alongside Katie who waves the Union Jack with the perplexed Mexicans looking on. The Brits enter the ring and Barrett politely asks for a microphone, and he's given one by Chavo. Their music stops and the boos ring out, not that they seem to bother Barrett at all.

Wade Barrett:
Your point's proved right there. We've said it all along. These people aren't going t' change, not just the fans but the American people in general. They're the most disgusting vile people on the planet.

*Ton of Heat*

Wade Barrett: They can't appreciate anything that isn't American or any criticism against this so called greatest country on earth. I've been here long enough now t' know that's the biggest pile of rubbish I've ever heard in my life.

*More Boos*

Wade Barrett: I hear it almost ev'ry single day. That's despite the gang culture, the obsession with guns, the sheer amount of obese children and a lack of basic manners. This country is a shambles, just like this show is right now.

*More Heat*

Wade Barrett: This show is just like this country. There's a lack of proper leadership. Frankly it's chaos, which has led to us losing the tag team titles because of it. It's about time someone did something about and thankfully that's what we're going t. . .

Stephanie McMahon walks out to the stage, microphone in hand not looking at all happy about what she's hearing.

Stephanie McMahon:
. . . Wade, shut up.

*Big Pop*

Stephanie McMahon: You're all entitled to your opinion of this country, just like you're able to leave it if you don't like it.

*More Cheers*

Stephanie McMahon: I'm sick of hearing people like you complaining all the time. . .

Wade Barrett: Well Stephanie if you did your job properly that wouldn't be a problem would it?

Stephanie McMahon: Well if you did your job properly Sunday night maybe you'd be the tag team champions instead of you being out here looking to blame somebody else for the fact you lost,

*Cheers*

No one in The Empire likes that one bit as they all stare up at Steph who clearly means business.

Stephanie McMahon:
You lost fair an' square. The sooner you deal with it the better. In fact that's why I'm out here. Seeing as you lost to the tag team champions at the Royal Rumble, we need to find new number one contenders, and despite me not doing my job properly as you put it, we're going t' start finding them t'night.

*Pop*

Stephanie McMahon: Starting t'night there will be a series of matches leading to a final match at No Way Out in three weeks to determine who will be the new number one contenders. . . Chavo, Alberto, you guys can leave the ring. You'll be in a match next week, but Wade you're not going anywhere. You can consider yourselves you're getting another shot but I'm going t' give you a chance, and your match isn't next week. . . it's next.

*Pop*

Stephanie McMahon: As it happens I think you know your opponents. Like me they're American an' damn proud.

"I'm Comin"

A big pop breaks out as M.V.P. & Ron Killings burst out to the stage on fire looking mega pumped, shaking hands with Stephanie before heading down the ramp with The Empire, Chavo & Del Rio watching them. As M.V.P. & Killings step inside with the fans still cheering, Chavo & Del Rio leave with Regal & Katie stepping outside also.

*Match #3*
WWE Tag Team Championship Number One Contenders Tournament - First Round Match
M.V.P. & Ron Killings
vs. The Empire w/William Regal & Katie Lee

The Empire quickly found out they were in a fight with MVP & Killings up for the fight with their former rivals who beat them in a flag match at No Mercy three months ago. The tension was still there and the fans weren't shy in their support of their fellow Americans, chanting "USA" on numerous occasions. It got under the skin of McIntyre & Barrett, as well as Regal & Katie on the outside. They were looking very nervous as the American duo took control and were full of momentum, looking to take advantage of it, and when MVP hit the Player's Boot on McIntyre, Barrett had to storm the ring to save the day.

A furious Killings hit the ring to take him down, and when MVP & McIntyre were back on their feet, The Franchise Player ducked a wild clothesline and drilled him with a snap DDT. Barrett sat up in time to see his partner just manage to get his shoulder up, looking relieved, but he was panicking as MVP sized the Scot up for the Drive By Kick. The fans were on their feet, willing MVP on, but Drew dodged it and shot up to his feet and planted him with a reverse STO.

They both tagged in their partners and Killings took the fight to Barrett, and just when it looked like he had the match all but won, Barrett sidestepped a scissor kick and hit a spinning side-slam. Killings was hurting, and after knocking MVP off the apron, Barrett pulled Killings up and hit the Wasteland to get the win for him & McIntyre, and it was a win they very much enjoyed afterwards. Barrett in particular gestured at the crowd that they were going to be champions again very soon with Katie waving the Union Jack behind them.

Winners: The Empire by pinfall.

Michael Cole:
It's not a popular victory but it's a victory nonetheless f' The Empire t'night and they move closer to another shot at the tag team titles they want back.

*Video Recap*
From the Royal Rumble!

*The Royal Rumble Match*

*From Raw Monday Night*

Ted DiBiase
and his girlfriend, Maryse walk out to the stage with DiBiase (in his ring gear) looking angrily into the crowd. He's in one hell of a mood tonight as he heads down the ramp with Maryse, just as angry following.

*Pop*

___________________________________________________________________________________

Josh Matthews is standing by backstage.

Josh Matthews:
Joining me at this time is the 2008 King of the Ring, Matt Sydal.

The camera zooms out and the former United States Champion, Matt Sydal is standing there alongside Josh with his girlfriend, Mickie James by his side. He's in his street clothes looking a bit low key, as is Mickie.

Josh Matthews:
Thanks f' speaking with me Matt. I know it's not been a great week t' say the least after what happened at the Royal Rumble losing your United States Champion after being attacked backstage before your match by Ted DiBiase. I have to ask, do you regret going ahead with your match with Dolph Ziggler, and if you had the chance to make the decision again, would it be diff'rent?

Matt Sydal: I don't know Josh. I guess I did the right thing an' at the time, yeah I was hurting pretty bad but I still thought I had a chance t' win. We all get hurt in the ring anyway. It's what we do, but yeah looking back it might not've been the smartest decision I ever made. At the time though the thing I thought about most was not letting the fans down. Besides, I've always been a fighter. I've fought through pain time an' time again. I don't really blame myself f' making that decision.

Josh Matthews: Then I guess you'd have to blame the person who did attack you. What's your reaction to Eric Bischoff's announcement on Raw that you'll face Ted DiBiase in just over two weeks at No Way Out?

Matt Sydal: Honestly? I wish my ribs would heal by Monday night an' I can get in the ring with him then. . . Seriously though I can wait two weeks t' get my hands on him. I heard him complaining on Raw about how I cost him the chance to be WWE Champion but there's no doubt he helped cost me the United States title. That's not being disrespectful t' Dolph Ziggler 'cause he's a great athlete. We just don't know what would've happened if I didn't get jumped but I can't think about that right now. All I'm thinking about is getting ready f' No Way Out, an' when I'm done getting even with DiBiase, we'll see if I can beat Dolph Ziggler an' take back the United States title.

Josh Matthews: Well I think a lot of people will want to wish you luck at No Way Out. Thanks f' your time t'night an' good luck with the ribs.

Matt Sydal: Thanks man.

Sydal shakes hands with Josh and he gets a smile from Mickie too when their friends Elijah Burke & Layla walk up to them.

Elijah Burke:
Y'ready t' go bro?

Matt Sydal: Sure am.

Josh Matthews: While you guys are here, can I ask about your wedding in two weeks?

Elijah Burke: Man, don't get her started J-dog.

Layla slaps her fiancée's shoulder.

Layla:
You may Josh. We're both very much looking forward to it thanks f' asking.

Elijah Burke: It's true, we are. I can't wait t' marry my baby. You got y'invite right?

Josh Matthews: I did thanks. I'll be there.

Elijah Burke: Sweet. We're havin' a few drinks t'night at the hotel later on if y'fancy it, if y'can put up with all the wedding talk that is?

Josh Matthews: Yeah sure, thanks. I'll catch you guys later on.

Elijah Burke: Cool. Later J.

The two happy couples walk up the hallway arm in arm, Layla playfully slapping her smiling fiancée's arm again.

A split screen of a fired-up Bryan Danielson and a mean looking Edge split is shown, both making their way to the ring.

Michael Cole: We're in f' a treat when we come back folks. It'll be Bryan Danielson going one-on-one with 'The Rated-R Superstar' Edge. You won't want t' miss this one. See you in a few minutes.

*Commercial Break*

*Match #4*
Bryan Danielson vs. Edge

The Rated-R Superstar was one angry Canadian as he entered the ring, and he had one hell of a fight on his hands in Danielson, and Edge's frustration worked well in Danielson's favour. Danielson's resilience just made Edge's mood even worse, and after seeing Danielson kick out of the Edgecution, he was seething and was desperate to put his opponent away with the spear. It didn't work out that way and Danielson leapfrogged him with Edge just about managing to put the brakes on before he hit the pads. Both men turned round in a flash and Danielson ducked a wild right before taking Edge down with a german suplex.

They both clawed their way back up and Edge reversed an irish whip, ducking his head and allowing Danielson to kick him full in the face as he ran back. Edge's head snapped right back up and Danielson took him down into the LeBell Lock, and the fans went nuts. They were cheering as Danielson desperately tried to make Edge tap as the Canadian held on for dear life and just managed to make it to the ropes to break the hold. Danielson looked like he was going to regret it when Edge ducked a wild kick to the head and quickly hit the Edge-O-Matic.

Again Danielson kicked out at two, and when Edge went for the spear again, he hit it, only for Danielson to get his foot on the rope at two to the joy of the crowd. Edge was fuming as he sat up, looking in shock at the referee before turning his head and heading outside, grabbing a steel chair and bringing it back into the ring. The fans booed as he slipped back in the ring with it, eyes locked on the squirming Danielson. The ref though got in his face and tried to get the chair off him with the fans booing, and Edge was so angry he shoved the referee down he was instantly disqualified.

He locked his sights back on Danielson as he dragged his way up to his knees, but then "Just Close Your Eyes" hit to a huge pop with Christian charging down the ramp in his casual clothes. Edge was stunned and shook his head, setting his sights on his brother as he dived under the bottom rope. The Rated-R Superstar charged at him, but Christian ducked a wild swing of the chair, ran the ropes and bounced back to take Edge down with a spear.

He pummelled his brother with right hands as Danielson got out of harm's way. Christian stood back up and grabbed the chair to a massive pop, locking & loading on Edge as he clawed his way back up. Captain Charisma was bursting at the seams, but as Edge stood up, he ducked the chair shot and pulled himself out of the ring under the bottom rope to a ton of heat. Christian was gutted and tossed the chair down before walking across the ring to get a microphone as Edge scarpered back up the ramp.

Winner: Bryan Danielson by DQ.

Christian: Hey bro, what's with the face? You mad or somethin'?. . . Wait, it doesn't have anything t' do with me dumping you out of the Rumble does it?

*Pop*

Edge stares angrily up at his brother with Christian smiling back at him, enjoying winding his brother up.

Christian:
Don't get me wrong Adam, I loved throwing you out as much as you hated it, but after what happened here last week I'm not that happy about it. Clearly you're not happy right now but I've got an idea. You might've got lucky last week but how about you an' I have one more match, at No Way Out?

*More Cheers*

The Rated-R Superstar's listening but gives nothing away as Christian looks up at him.

Christian:
Before you give me an answer, think about this. I don't just want another normal match. How about we mix it up a bit? How about we make these (holds the chair up) legal? How about we go at it in a match we helped make famous? I'm talking about a tables ladders an' chairs match.

*Huge Pop*

Edge looks stunned up on the stage with Christian nodding his head at the fans support for his idea.

Christian:
I don't mean any other TLC match. It won't be like the good old days when we climbed that ladder t' get the tag team titles. This'd be about one thing; beating the crap out of each other. There'll be no climbing the ladder t' win. The only way t' win this is like any other match, 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring. What y'gotta say bro? You got the guts?

Christian looks up at his brother, waiting for his response, and he gets one as Edge turns round and shouts backstage for something and a worker comes out to hand him a microphone.

Edge:
You wanna be careful what you wish for. Ev'ryone knows who stole the show in those TLC matches an' it wasn't you C. You want a TLC match at No Way Out? You got it.

"Metalingus" plays and Edge looks down intently at his brother, showing no signs of being worried about facing him in a TLC match. Christian's happy too, looking back up at Edge trying to stare each other out.

Michael Cole:
Can you believe that? At No Way Out it's going t' be Edge an' Christian going at it in the match they made their own nearly 10 years ago, a TLC match. What a match that's going t' be.

Matt Striker: It will be an incredible match worth the pay-per-view price all by itself.

The team of Petey Williams & Johnny Devine are shown walking through the back, game faces on, and the shot switches to Paul Burchill & TJ Wilson doing the same with Harry Smith & Natalya Neidhart following.

Michael Cole:
The action continues when we come back. These two former rivals will meet again with a shot at the tag team titles a step close for the winner. Who'll join The Empire in the next round? Find out when we come back.

*Commercial Break*

Josh Matthews
is standing by backstage again at the interview set.

Josh Matthews:
Ladies an' gentleman please welcome my guest at this time, John Cena.

The camera zooms out and there stands John Cena in a trademark T-shirt looking fairly serious.

Josh Matthews:
T'night John you'll be facing CM Punk in the main event in a rematch from the Royal Rumble for the World Heavyweight Championship, an' given what happened Sunday night I guess it's safe t' say that. . .

John Cena: . . . Sorry Josh but there's somethin' I wanna say before we get into the match t'night. . . Monday night on Raw in my match teaming up with The Undertaker, I accidentally hit him with a steel chair, an' given by the look on his face afterwards he didn't seem too happy about it. I just wanna apologise f' that an' want Taker t' know I'm sorry that happened, an' after what happened t' me at the Royal Rumble it's kind of ironic. I gotta say I'm surprised Tazz quit t'night but I know what he did like I did Monday was an accident. He tried t' do the right thing an' it was an accident. He spoke with me after the match an' apologised. Yeah I wasn't exactly happy with what went down but I know these things happen. No doubt it was bad timing but hey, we move on.

Josh Matthews: Well since we're on the subject of Tazz, what are your thoughts on Tazz's decision to quit t'night?

John Cena: Y'know, it was a shock. I honestly didn't see it comin'. He loves this business as much as anyone, but you don't have t' be a genius t' figure out he's not been happy with ev'rything that's been goin' on round here lately with Steph, with Punk an' all. I guess Steph gave him no choice. He's a proud guy an' I don't blame 'im f' holding her back like he did. She got way too involved at Night of Champions an' crossed the line. This time it went against me but there's a reason I gave up the title like I did. I don't want titles handed to me on a plate. Thankfully t'night I've got another chance an' it sounds like it'll be a fair fight. It might be my last chance an' I'm sure as hell gonna make sure I take it an' walk out o'here World Heavyweight Champion.

Josh Matthews: Well John, good luck t'night.

John Cena: Thanks Josh.

Cena nods at Josh and turns round, walking out of the shot, ready for his world title match later on in the main event.

*Match #5*
WWE Tag Team Championship Number One Contenders Tournament - First Round Match
Paul Burchill & TJ Wilson w/Harry Smith & Natalya Neidhart
vs. Petey Williams & Johnny Devine

Despite having strong support from Harry & Natalya on the outside as well as the crowd, Burchill & Wilson had a tougher fight on their hands than they and the crowd may have thought. Petey & Devine did a good number isolating Wilson for a large part, and it looked like the Canadian duo were about to score the upset when Devine broke a mini comeback by catching his fellow Canadian with an enzuigiri. The crowd were thrilled to see TJ kick out before the ref could count to three.

He looked there for the taking, and Petey certainly thought so when he called for the tag. He got it and set TJ up for the Canadian Destroyer, but TJ countered with a back body drop to a big roar from the crowd. He managed to kick back at Williams as he tried to stop him making the tag to Burchill, but he couldn't and TJ jumped up to tag in the big man. The Englishman hit the ring to a big pop and turned the tables back in their favour, coming so close to getting the three when he hit a top rope moonsault on Petey.

Thankfully for him though, Devine broke up the count before the ref could count to three. Petey tagged him in and when Devine this time missed an enzuigiri, Burchill seized the initiative again and didn't look back, helping a desperate Petey over the top rope before hitting Devine with the C4 to book him & TJ a place in the next round of the number one contenders tournament, met by a big pop from the fans and a very unified celebration from the UK/Canadian combination along with their bitter rivals, The Empire.

Winners: Paul Burchill & TJ Wilson by pinfall.

Michael Cole:
Well Petey Williams might not be happy right now but Burchill an' TJ certainly are. They were robbed of the titles at Night of Champions by The Empire, but now they've joined their rivals in moving a step closer to another shot at the tag team titles, and if they can keep up performances like that then they've got a great chance of getting the titles back.

We're taken backstage and a fired-up CM Punk is shown walking through the halls of the arena with his world title over his shoulder, and now we see John Cena also making his way through the back with his game face on.

Michael Cole:
We're just a matter of minutes away from our main event folks. It's one you simply can't miss, one of the biggest main events in recent memory on Smackdown. It'll be CM Punk defending the world heavyweight title against John Cena when we come back. Don't even think about going anywhere.

*Commercial Break*

An angry Petey Williams is shown walking through the back with a face like thunder when his tag team partner, Johnny Devine runs to catch up with him.

Johnny Devine:
What was that huh? Why'd you walk out on me like that?

Petey stops and gives him a filthy look.

Petey Williams:
Why? You have to ask me why? Tell me Johnny, when was the last time we won a match?

Devine stops & thinks.

Petey Williams:
Exactly. That's my point. I can't remember either an' I'm sick of it. I'm sick of losing. I've had of enough it.

Johnny Devine: Wait. You don't think I'm not?

Petey Williams: You shouldn't be but I'm better than this, way better than this an' you know it too. That's why from now on, I'm doing things by myself.

Devine looks stunned as his deadly serious friend turns round and walks away from him.

*The Main Event*
World Heavyweight Championship
(If Stephanie McMahon directly interferes, CM Punk retains the title)
John Cena vs. CM Punk (c)

Stephanie McMahon was indeed on hand, sitting on a fold-out chair at ringside, making Punk very uneasy throughout. He had enough of a battle on his hands in the ring with Cena hell bent on getting the world title back. He looked as though he was about to when after giving Stephanie a warning, Punk casually went to help him up, but Cena caught him off guard and swept his legs from under him before locking in the STFU. The torn crowd made a racket, both cheering & booing Cena as he ripped desperately at Punk's face, trying to make him tap out. Stephanie stood up on the outside and watched closely as Punk held on, lifting his right arm up with the ref asking him whether he wanted to quit.

He didn't though and fought his way to the ropes to a largely positive reaction from the crowd. Stephanie wasn't best pleased and sat back down. Cena shook off the initial obvious disappointment and watched Punk claw his way up by the ropes, and as the World Champion walked out to him, he lifted Punk up for the F-U. The fans booed again but Punk somehow managed to land on his feet, surprising Cena. Punk turned round and ducked a clothesline before nailing him with a roundhouse kick. Cena fell back, flat on the mat with Punk dropping to the canvas to make a cover, hooking one leg, only Cena managed to get his other foot on the rope to stop the count.

Punk was gutted but he felt the end was near and got ready for the GTS, stalking Cena as he dragged his way back up using the ropes with Stephanie watching nervously. Cena looked groggy and staggered out into Punk's path and the GTS, and Punk hit it, smirking like mad at Steph before confidently dropping to his knees to make the count, but Cena shocked everyone by getting his shoulder up at two. Punk leant back and couldn't believe it, neither could the fans or the relieved Stephanie, and she was the one smirking at Punk this time. He was furious and stood back up, dragging Cena with him for another GTS. Cena offered no resistance and looked out of it until he caught everyone by surprise again, this time countering by grabbing Punk's knee after being dropped for the GTS to lock in the STFU instead.

It was deafening in the arena as Punk screamed out in pain, clinging on to his title with Stephanie again jumping up from her seat. She walked right over to the apron, staring right at Punk as he fought for his title when a ton of heat broke out in the stands. Homicide walked out from the back, heading down the ramp, catching Steph's attention. She stormed round to the ramp and stood in his way, yelling at him to get back, and the ref saw him too and joined Steph on the outside to try & get Homicide away from the ring. Cena was puzzled and looked round to see what was going on. He broke the hold and stood up, walking over to the apron, inviting Homicide in with Punk writhing around on the mat.

Homicide looked up at Cena, standing firm as Punk slowly made his way back up to his knees. The ref & Stephanie managed to force him back slightly, and as Cena then turned round and walked over to Punk, he pulled him up to his knees, getting a low blow from the World Champion. That got a mixed reaction and Punk jumped up, lifted Cena onto his shoulders and hit the GTS for a second time. Homicide pointed at the ref to turn around, and he did, running back into the ring as Punk made the cover, getting the three to retain his title to another mixed reaction. "This Fire Burns" hit and Homicide smirked at Stephanie who shook her head, holding her head in her hands.

Punk sat up with a smug look on his face, looking right at Stephanie who stomped back towards the ring. She got in the ring and grabbed the world title from him, confusing Punk slightly. The ref left the ring and Punk walked towards Stephanie, telling her to give him the title. Clearly she didn't want to but he grabbed it from her and was screaming at her eventually to raise her hand. She wouldn't though and turned to walk away when Punk grabbed her hand. She turned back and slapped him, infuriating Punk, so much so he dropped his title and lifted Steph up onto his shoulders for the GTS. The fans were stunned as Steph tried to wriggle free, but she couldn't and Punk dropped her head onto his knee to another deafening mixed response from the crowd.

He then lifted his title back up off the mat and looked down without a shred of the remorse as the referee along with several officials including Arn Anderson & Dean Malenko ran down to check on her, quickly calling for help as Punk left the ring to join Homicide. They watched as Cena too then checked on her with EMT's rushing down to attend to Stephanie who lay there flat on her back. Cena stood up and stared up at Punk with disgust as he simply lifted his title up into the air as Smackdown came to a close with Stephanie flat out on her back on the mat surrounded by officials & EMT's.

Winner: By pinfall and still the World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk.

Michael Cole:
Has CM Punk lost his mind? He might've found a way to retain his title t'night but the GTS on Stephanie? What on earth was he thinking, if he was that is?

Matt Striker: I can't be sure Michael but CM Punk has always been a very intelligent individual thinking one step ahead like he did t'night you would assume with Homicide again causing a distraction. It allowed him the chance to take Stephanie out of the equation and allow him t' catch Cena unaware. I'm not underestimating what he's just done t' Stephanie, but t' me Michael I can't help but think he fully intended t' do what he just has.

Michael Cole: Well whether that's the case or not you have t' think that there has t' be consequences f' what he's done t'night. There just has t' be. Next week we might find out if that's the case. Make sure you're with us then. We're barely on the road to Wrestlemania but it's already looking like being quite the ride. Until then folks, take care an' we'll see you next week.

>Tazz Quits, Punk Retains & Puts Stephanie to Sleep!<

In a night full of drama last night on Smackdown, it ended with the World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk putting Stephanie McMahon to sleep.

After defeating John Cena in their final encounter for the world title thanks to a minor distraction from Homicide like at the Royal Rumble last Sunday, Punk & Stephanie exchanged words, ending with Stephanie trying to slap Punk, only she fell to the same fate as Cena a minute earlier. We're also hearing that she may have suffered a fractured cheekbone as a result of the GTS too. God only knows what will happen from here for The Straight Edge Superstar.

The end to the show was only slightly more chaotic than the start when Stephanie called Tazz down to the ring to address his actions at the Royal Rumble, and the now former General Manager told her he'd finally had enough of her constant interfering and quit before he was sacked, leaving Smackdown without a GM. With Stephanie's supposed injury too, there's no one running the ship. Will that still the case next Friday night? All hell has been breaking loose with Tazz & Stephanie there. What could it be like without both if Stephanie isn't there?

>Tables, Ladders & Chairs at No Way Out<

After months & months of bitter rivalry, we may see it come to an end when the brothers from Toronto battle it out in a TLC match in Las Vegas in two weeks.

A week ago Edge defeated Christian in slightly controversial circumstances before being eliminated by his younger brother two nights later in the Royal Rumble. It led to a very angry Edge getting himself disqualified last night in his match against Bryan Danielson, and he was about to use a steel chair until Captain Charisma ran down to Danielson's rescue.

Still frustrated by the defeat to Edge last week, he challenged Edge to a match at No Way Out, but not any ordinary match. Christian proposed they meet in the match they helped make famous, the TLC match. This though is a TLC match with twist, as there will be no championships on the line, there is nothing to climb the ladder to grab, meaning that the winner will be determined by either pinfall or submission.

Monday Night Raw – Preview!
Monday 26th January 2009
Live from the Wachovia Spectrum
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Raw was an action packed a week ago, just 24 hours after 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels won the 2009 Royal Rumble to become the new WWE Champion, and it promises to be just as eventful tomorrow night when Raw comes to you live from Philadelphia.

Not only did we hear from The Heartbreak Kid, announcing his return to Raw but that this week we will see three matches to determine who will go on to No Way Out in two weeks to battle it out for the right to face Mr. WrestleMania for the WWE title at Wembley Stadium in London, England at the 25th anniversary of the showpiece event in sports entertainment. We'll see a huge monster of a match between Randy Orton & Triple H, and after his return at the start of the month, The Viper's chased retribution for the injury suffered at the hands of The Game back at Survivor Series. It was Orton who eliminated his former Evolution leader from the Royal Rumble match just over a week ago, but will he knock off The Game again and cost him the chance to get the WWE title back tomorrow night on Philly? This is a match that is sure to be a slobberknocker as JR would say.

In the other two matches, the Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus will have the chance to be both Intercontinental & WWE Champion as he's wanted when he takes on The Undertaker. Sheamus last week took his frustration out on Rey Mysterio again, just 24 hours after being eliminated by Mysterio, costing Rey & Mystico the world tag team titles in the process against The Epitome of Excellence. Eric Bischoff was furious and told Sheamus that he'd deal with him, and as the show was coming to a close he announced that The Celtic Warrior will have to fight his way past The Undertaker to have any chance of being a double champion. The Dead-Man himself had a bad week, being on the wrong end of a chair shot in the main event at the hands of John Cena. He did not look at all happy after that match and you'd have to think that Sheamus has an uphill struggle on his hands tomorrow night.

The last two men to battle it out in Philly are two men who have had their fair share of difficulties in recent weeks in The Big Show & Chris Jericho. They met two weeks back in the gauntlet match to determine who would be number 30 in the Royal Rumble and Jericho scraped a count out victory to eliminate Show, and along with Triple H in the Rumble, he eliminated The World's Largest Athlete again. Then last week they went one-on-one with Jericho deliberately getting himself counted out, not leaving Big Show amused in the least. Bischoff was quick to let us know that when they meet this week there will be no count outs. Does that give Big Show the edge or can Jericho get one over on him to go to No Way Out in Las Vegas?

As mentioned before, we saw new World Tag Team Champions crowned last week when Christopher Daniels & Kaval, The Epitome of Excellence defeated Rey Mysterio & Mystico, finally getting the hands on the titles they claimed they deserved. Some have said they had a case, but after saying they've been on the wrong end of some controversial decisions, they were very fortunate last Monday night when Sheamus attacked Mysterio during their no counts or disqualification match. It left Mystico with a mountain to climb by himself, and it took a legal low blow thanks to the stipulation of the match that allowed Daniels to get the all important win for him & Kaval. The new champions will be in action this week when they team up with Kofi Kingston's brother, Jay Lethal to take on Kofi and the Puerto Rican brothers, Carlito & Eddie Colon. After losing to Jay at the Royal Rumble, there's bound to be some tension between them still too.

Melina surprised a lot of people at Night of Champions when she fought bravely to try and retain her Women's Championship against the undefeated monster Queen Kong. She fell just short but last week she declared that she will be using her rematch clause this week, and she was quickly joined in the ring by the unstoppable behemoth. To her credit, Melina didn't back down and put the giant diva down, leaving Kong furious as Melina left the ring with Gail Kim & Kelly Kelly coming out to support her. Can she overcome the odds and defeat Kong tomorrow night? For all this and a whole lot more, tune in to find out!

*Video Recap*
From Last Week!

Triple H:
I don't need a lecture. The only concern you should have Shawn is for your own well being. You know better than anyone what I'm capable of, what I've done t' people, an' at this stage of your career, the last person you wanna piss off is me.

Jim Ross:
Welcome ev'ryone to Monday Night Raw, live t'night in Philadelphia, an' what a night it's gonna be folks. We thought the Royal Rumble was huge but things just get bigger an' bigger. Right here live t'night as you just saw, there will be three matches to determine who'll go t' No Way Out t' f' the right t' face Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania f' the WWE Championship.

"It's a shame that they lost their heads. . ."

The Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus walks out to the stage ready for action to a chorus of boos, not that he cares in the slightest.

Jerry Lawler:
It looks like we're not gonna have t' wait that long t' find out who the first superstar going t' No Way Out is JR.

World Tag Team Championship
No DQ or Count Out
Rey Mysterio & Mystico (c)
vs. The Epitome of Excellence

Sheamus is in the ring and has a microphone in hand, smirking at the jeering crowd as his music stops.

Sheamus:
From what I hear, my match t'night with de Undertaker is a so called punishment f' what I did t' Rey Mysterio last week but de reality is all Eric Bischoff's done is give me de chance t' become de dubya-dubya-e champion, an' trust me I will.

*Heat*

Sheamus: After I win t'night an' at No Way Out in a couple o'weeks I'll be goin' t' Wrestlemania t' face Shawn Michaels. Den I'll beat de Heartbreak Kid t' add t' my Intercontinental Championship. If dat's punishment f' what I did t' Rey, dat's fine by me. He got what he deserved f' dat fluke in eliminating me at de Royal Rumble, but starting t'night I'll get what I deserve 'cause no one's stoppin' me going all de way t' Wrestlemania, not Rey Mysterio, not Eric Bischoff an' not de Underta. . .

*GONG*

The lights are out and the crowd go nuts as "Rest in Peace" plays and The Undertaker walks out into the arena, smoke blowing across the stage.

From Last Week!

The Undertaker & John Cena
vs. CM Punk & Homicide

It came down to Cena & Punk, and after hitting a running knee strike in the corner, Punk went for a running bulldog out of it, only for Cena to counter and shove Punk forward, right into the referee and knocking him down.

*The Opening Match*
Number One Contender Qualifying Match
The Undertaker vs. Sheamus

Sheamus was bang up for the challenge, but he needed to be against Taker with the fans vociferously showing their support for The Dead-Man. The Intercontinental Champion had them worried though, proving he was up to the challenge and a match for The Phenom despite a slow start. As the match went on though, the momentum swung in the favour of The Undertaker after he ducked the Celtic War Sword and went on a major offensive. The Celtic Warrior was rattled as Taker took the fight to him, hitting the snake eyes, then followed it up with a big boot right down the Irishman's throat. Sheamus was in deep trouble and quickly found himself on the edge when he struggled back up to his feet, walking right into a chokeslam.

The fans were counting along with the referee, but Sheamus surprised them all by getting his shoulder up at two to deny Taker the win. Taker though didn't let it bother him one bit and stood right back up, signalling for the end. He pulled down the straps and gave Sheamus a helping hand up from his knees, scooping him up over his shoulder for the Tombstone. There was still some fight left in Sheamus though and he slipped down his back and shoved Taker forward towards the ropes. Taker put the brakes on and turned back to walk right into an Irish Curse backbreaker. Taker was the one who kicked out this time, and the frustration & determination on Sheamus's face was there for all to see.

He turned Taker over on to his front and applied a Camel Clutch while driving his knee into Taker's back, causing some real concern for the fans as Sheamus did all he could to make Taker tap out. He couldn't though as Taker fought his way to the ropes, much to the delight of the fans. Sheamus was pissed but stood up and backed away, watching Taker drag himself up by the ropes, and as Taker made it up and turned away from the ropes, the Irishman stormed across the ring at him for the Brogue Kick. Taker ducked it though and tried for an irish whip, only for Sheamus to reverse it and follow in with a big clothesline. The Intercontinental Champion climbed up to the second rope and hammered away at Taker's skull until The Dead-Man came to life, catching Sheamus by surprise by stepping out of the corner.

He lifted Sheamus up above his head to a huge roar from the crowd and sent him on his Last Ride. The fans were on their feet as Sheamus was driven into the canvas, but somehow Sheamus just managed to get his shoulder up before the ref could count to three. Even Taker showed some slight surprised, but no sympathy as he slowly made his way back up, watching the weary Sheamus claw his way back up too. Taker again signalled for the end, and as Sheamus turned round, he was again scooped up for the Tombstone Piledriver, and this time The Dead-Man hit it, driving Sheamus's head into the canvas to get the three count and book his place in the number one contender match at No Way Out, met with a massive ovation for The Phenom.

Winner: The Undertaker by pinfall.

Jim Ross: Well if you ask me, Sheamus got exactly what he deserved t'night f' what he did last week, an' King no one will wanna face The Undertaker at No Way Out in two weeks.

Jerry Lawler: You're not wrong JR. We could be looking at the number one contender right there.

*Video Recap*
From Unforgiven Last September!

The fans think they know what’s coming and try to warn the squirming Batista. The WWE Champion has no idea how much trouble he could be in, and Young is watching on with a big smile on his face, looking very confident. Orton’s raring to go, holding on to the top rope at each side with both hands to stop him going for Batista already. The WWE Champion gets up on to all fours, giving Orton the green light to charge across the ring and he swings his boot at Batista’s head for the PUNT!!!. . . . . Batista sees him coming and ducks his head. He stands up and runs in to the ropes as Orton puts the brakes on. The Legend Killer turns round as quickly as he can with Batista coming back off the ropes to take him down with a SPEAR!!!. . . . .

BUT NO! ORTON STEPS TO THE SIDE AND BATISTA SPEARS THE REFEREE!!!. . . . . The Animal can’t believe it as he looks the ref in eyes, then realises there’s Orton to deal with. He races back up to his feet, unaware of Orton behind him on his knees, pounding the mat getting ready to strike. As Batista turns round, Orton leaps up and RKO!!!. . . . . HE HIT IT BUT THE REF’S DOWN!. . . . . Orton jumps on Batista for the cover only to see the ref laid out at the side of him. Orton’s livid! He sits up in anger, clueless of what to do next. He looks over at Young, and he too has no idea. Orton looks back at Batista, and The Animal’s eyes are open. Orton panics and stands up, then calls for Young to get him something, pointing towards the timekeeper’s table.

Young gets it and turns round, walks over to Lilian Garcia and grabs the WWE Championship. He heads back to the ring and slides the title in the ring to Orton, and the crowd boo like mad as Orton bends down and grabs the title. Batista’s clawing his way up on to his knees, and Orton steps back with the title in hand, getting ready to take his head off. The fans’ worry is obvious as Batista struggles up to his feet, totally oblivious as to what’s waiting for him. The focused Orton runs at him, but Batista ducks his head and lifts Orton up off the mat and plants him with another SPINE BUSTER!!!. . . . .

The fans are cheering now as the intense WWE Champion kicks his belt out of the ring, causing great concern for Young on the outside. He watches on as Batista bends down and drags the helpless Orton in to place for the Batista Bomb. The fans rise to their feet as Batista takes a quick look at Young, and it’s a mistake as Orton ducks down and low blows him to a ton of heat, and the ref’s still down and unable to disqualify him. Orton remains on his knees with a face like thunder, pounding his fists in to the mat again. He’s chomping at the bit, getting ready to explode when the crowd does just that, erupting with a barrage of heat. Orton’s too focused to see what his rookie can. . . . .

TRIPLE H IS PACING DOWN THE RAMP WITH A SLEDGEHAMMER!!!. . . . . Young tries to warn his mentor, shouting at him and pointing, but Orton doesn’t hear him or takes no notice if he can as The King of Kings slips in the ring. Young jumps up on the apron and gets Orton’s attention, pointing behind him to the menacing sight of Triple H with a sledgehammer. Orton turns round and can’t believe his eyes. He stands up and RUNS RIGHT IN TO A SLEDGEHAMMER SHOT TO THE SKULL!!!. . . . . Young steps inside and charge at The Game, but he too is on the receiving end OF A SLEDGEHAMMER SHOT TO THE SKULL!!!. . . . .

Triple H stares down at the both of them with the weary ref lifting his head up off the mat and calling for the bell, awarding the match to Orton via disqualification. The crowd boo as The King of Kings turns his head to see Batista making his way up. Triple H turns round and sets his sights firmly on the unsuspecting WWE Champion. Batista stands back up as The Game sizes him up, then NAILS HIM WITH A SLEDGEHAMMER SHOT TO THE SKULL!!!. . . . . The fans continue to boo the hell out of Triple H, but he’s not done. He surveys the wreckage with no remorse whatsoever as “King of Kings” plays. The Game lifts his head and looks around the arena at the fans that are booing him, giving them all one collective dirty look as Unforgiven comes to a close.

Todd Grisham is standing by backstage at the interview set.

Todd Grisham:
Joining me at this time is the WWE Champion, 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels.

The camera zooms out to show a very happy looking Shawn Michaels, the WWE Champion in his casual clothes standing next to Josh with a whole host of cheers coming from the arena.

Todd Grisham:
Shawn first off, welcome back t' Raw an' congratulations on your victory in the Royal Rumble and on becoming the WWE Champion. What I want to ask you about t'night though is the three matches to determine who'll battle it out for the right t' face you at Wrestlemania. We just saw The Undertaker defeat Sheamus an' there's still two huge matches t' come later on. You had words with Triple H last week as well, but who do you think will become the number one contender for your WWE title at Wrestlemania?

Shawn Michaels: I'm afraid that's out of my hands Todd. All I can an' plan t' do is sit back an' watch the rest of the matches like ev'ryone else. Whoever wins t'night an' at No Way Out, it's sure gonna be real tough at Wrestlemania, but Todd that's what being WWE Champion's all about, an' I love it. I can't wait t' get back t' London, t' Wembley, an' whoever it is it's gonna be a night t' remembe. . .

Some clapping can be heard in the background and the camera pans to the right, showing none other than Ted DiBiase standing there in his casual clothes too, sarcastically clapping the WWE Champion with Maryse looking unimpressed by him too as Ted walks towards him.

Ted DiBiase:
I guess I should be congratulating you Shawn but I think we both know that you got lucky at the Rumble an' that title you've got on your shoulder was meant f' me. I'm the one who should be holding that title an' main eventing Wrestlemania. I'm the star of this company's future. You're the past an' I know you know it too. I hope you enjoy it because very soon it'll be me headlining Wrestlemania, not you.

Shawn Michaels: Y'know y'might be right about it being my last Wrestlemania but luck had nothing t' do with it Jack. An' who knows? You might be the next big superstar an' I've always shown my support f' the stars of the future.

Ted DiBiase: Yeah, sure y'do.

Shawn Michaels: I sure do kid, an' since we're both here t'night an' I don't have a match, how about I give you a chance t' show the world how big a star you are right here in one of the best wrestling cities there is, Philadelphia?

DiBiase looks to the side to Maryse, shocked and being backed into a corner, quickly realising he has no choice.

Ted DiBiase:
Alright you're on, but you'll realise that you did get lucky at the Rumble an' that I should be WWE Champion.

Ted turns to the side and walks away with Maryse following and Shawn & Todd watching. Michaels smiles and goes to shake Todd's hand.

Shawn Michaels:
Well Todd it looks like I've got a match t' get ready for.

They shake hands.

Todd Grisham:
Well good luck, and thanks f' your time.

Shawn Michaels: No problem my man. You take care now.

The WWE Champion heads up the hall to get ready for his match, certainly enjoying being champion again when Sheamus walks past Todd. The Intercontinental Champion is holding his neck, looking rather angry and worse for wear, stopping & giving Grisham a dirty look, when all of a sudden he's attacked by Mystico. The Mexican pummels him with right hands and forearms, then kicks the Irishman in the stomach, hammering him with stiff kicks to put him on his knees. Some officials storm the scene and pull him away as Sheamus stands up clutching his stomach looking shocked & angry.

Sheamus:
What de hell's y'problem fella?

Mystico tries to get away from the officials but they hold him back as he starts shouting angrily in Spanish at a baffled Sheamus.

Sheamus:
Yeah whatever Pedro. Just don't do that again fella or I'll make y'sorry.

He casually walks past Mystico as he's still held back by officials.

Dean Malenko:
Let him go. He's not worth it.

As Sheamus walks further up the hall the officials loosen their grasp on Mystico, and then completely as he breathes heavily, staring in the Irishman's direction.

*Match #2*
John Morrison & Justin Gabriel
vs. Ezekiel Jackson & Orlando Jordan

Morrison & Gabriel were greeted with a very positive reaction from the crowd and they had them on the edge of their seat for the most part of the match. Their high flying, quick paced styles were evident throughout, but they met some serious resistance in the shape of a mean Ezekiel Jackson. After a blind tag when Jordan hit the ropes, the big man entered the ring behind Gabriel before turning him inside out with a lariat. The South African had to fight to hang on, and he did, side stepping a body avalanche with Jackson running into the pads. He staggered out right into a super kick from Gabriel, giving him the chance to crawl across the mat after falling back down to then tag in Morrison while Jackson did the same to bring Jordan back into the action.

It was all about Morrison from there as they stormed the ring, running right at each other with JoMo hitting a clothesline, and then another. Jordan was reeling and connected with a satellite spin into a russian legsweep. Jordan kicked out at two but Morrison went right back to work as they both made their way back up, instantly running into the ropes close by to hit a springboard enzuigiri. Jordan was circling the drain and Jackson could see it as Morrison urged OJ to get back up. Jackson hit the ring and ran right at JoMo who back tracked into the ropes and held them down to send Jackson falling down to the floor.

The fans were cheering, and as JoMo stood up, Jordan was back on his feet too. They ran at each other with Morrison ducking a clothesline and planting him with the Moonlight Drive after a stomp to the gut. Jordan was flat out on his back and The Monday Night Delight dragged him closer to the corner by his legs before tagging Gabriel, who raced up to the top rope to a big pop from the crowd. They rose to their feet and watched as the high flying South African hit the 450 splash to pick up the win for him & Morrison, and they celebrated at the bell with another win under the belts.

Winners: John Morrison & Justin Gabriel by pinfall.

Jim Ross: Once again King, I can't help but be impressed by this team of John Morrison an' Justin Gabriel. That's three wins in just over a week. They're sure making an impression here on Raw, that's f' sure.

He now turns his head to see the WWE Champion shifting round on his knees, trying to get back up. The Game takes a couple of steps back as Batista climbs his way back up without a clue as to what’s waiting for him. He turns round and the intense TRIPLE H RUNS AT HIM, DRIVING THE SLEDGEHAMMER TOWARDS HIS FACE, BUT BATISTA COUNTERS WITH A SPINEBUSTER TO A MASSIVE POP!!!. . . . . Triple H drops the sledgehammer and Batista grabs it to another big cheer. The Animal rises to his feet with The Game’s ally in hand, waiting calmly somehow as Triple H claws his way back up.

Triple H makes it up and turns round with Batista waiting to strike AND THE ANIMAL SWINGS IT AT THE GAME, BUT TRIPLE H DROPS TO HIS KNEES AND LOW BLOWS THE WWE CHAMPION TO A TON OF HEAT!!!. . . . . A ton if heat echoes around the Air Canada Center as Batista drops to the mat to the sadistic satisfaction of The King of Kings. Orton lies helplessly & motionless on the oustide with his head busted open, but back inside Triple H rises to his feet and brings his sledgehammer with him with the fans still booing.

Batista struggles back up to his feet as Triple H sizes him up, getting ready to take his head off, and as The Animal makes it back up, THE GAME HAMMERS HIM WITH A VICIOUS SHOT TO THE SKULL WITH THE SLEDGEHAMMER!!!. . . . . The intense heat continues as The Game lets go of the sledgehammer and kicks it to the apron with the ref starting to come round. The heat is incredible as Triple H stares disaprovingly in to the crowd before DRIVING THE ANIMAL’S HEAD IN TO THE CANVAS FOR THE PEDIGREE!!!. . . . . 2. . . . .

. . . . .

. . . . . 3?

YES! WE HAVE A NEW WWE CHAMPION!!!

“The Game” plays to a bombardment of heat from the Canadian crowd and Triple H drops his head to the mat and throws his arms up in to the air. The WWE Championship is slid in to the ring and the new champion walks over to collect it with the ref still in a bad way. The Game lifts it up off the mat and climbs up to the second rope to pose with the title, lifting it up in to the air with the fans still crapping all over his victory.

The King of Kings couldn’t care less as he steps down and goes over to the opposite corner, posing again with the title on the second rope. He again steps off the ropes and this time leaves the ring, heading back up the ramp with his newly won title over his shoulder. He gets to the stage and turns back as Batista starts to come round, not knowing where he is as Triple H throws his arms up in to the air for his trademark pose with the WWE title too.

The victorious team of John Morrison & Justin Gabriel are walking through the back, both laughing & joking after their win before the break, and they walk into the path ofBrie & Nikki Bella. The Bella twins stand there gawping at them for a second before Brie gets carried away and steps out in front of them.

Brie Bella:
HEY!

Morrison & Gabriel stop and look a little taken aback by her jumping in front of them.

John Morrison:
Heyyy. You ok?

Brie just stands there looking at them as Nikki shakes her head.

Nikki Bella:
She's fine. I think she meant t' say she saw your match and wanted t' say how good you guys looked.

Brie Bella: So good. . . in the ring I meant, not that I mean you don't look good because you do.

Nikki turns to briefly look at Brie, looking embarrassed by her sister.

Nikki Bella:
Look, I don't know if you guys have any plans after the show but do you fancy maybe going out to, I don't know, celebrate your win t'night?

Morrison & Gabriel turn and look at each other, both nodding happily.

John Morrison:
Yeah I think we can go f' that. We've gotta get changed first though.

Nikki Bella: Yeah sure. Come meet us when you're good t' go.

Justin Gabriel: We sure will.

Gabriel smiles right at Nikki as he & Morrison now start to walk off.

John Morrison:
We'll catch you in a bit girls.

Brie Bella: Great.

Brie turns round smiling like mad, watching them walk off up the hall.

Brie Bella:
My god they're hot.

Nikki turns round and watches them and nods her head too when Cody Rhodes (in his ring gear) & Joe Hennig walk up behind them, not looking impressed.

Cody Rhodes:
My, you girls sure are pathetic. I get you're bitter after we ditched you both, but seriously, what's the fuss with those guys? Not only are we better looking than them, we're better in the ring too.

Brie Bella: You really think so? Look at them. You're not as hot as you think you are Cody, an' y'know what? I bet they'd kick your asses too. When was the last time you even won a match?

Cody Rhodes: As a matter of fact I have a match up next, which I guarantee I will win.

Brie Bella: Yeah well, who cares? Right now the only person who cares about you is you. . . well maybe him too. No one else does. Now if you don't mind we've gotta a date we've gotta go get ready for. Come on Nikki.

Nikki gives Cody a dirty look as she & Brie walk off giggling, not going down well with Cody & Hennig.

*Match #3*
JTG vs. Cody Rhodes w/Joe Hennig

JTG took full advantage of Cody's over-confidence early on, coming close to securing the win when he caught Rhodes with a sit-out jawbreaker. Hennig was relieved on the outside to see Cody get his shoulder up at two, and thanks to a minor distraction by his tag team partner as JTG went to climb the ropes, Cody was able to dodge a missile dropkick. JTG hit the deck and Cody was on him as he made his way back up, driving him down into the mat courtesy of an Alabama Slam. It wasn't enough to get the win though as JTG this time got the shoulder up. Cody wasn't best pleased, and after failing in continuing to put JTG away, he went for Cross Rhodes.

JTG pulled back though and then caught a stunned Cody with a spinning neckbreaker. It was only good for two though, and with the fans getting behind him, JTG could see the finish line. As Cody tried to get back up, JTG turned into the ropes, looking to hit a running front flip neckbreaker. Cody dodged it though and reacted quickly to send JTG spiralling into the mat via Cross Rhodes to pick up the hard fought victory, very much enjoying it at the bell, revelling in the heat from the crowd as he got his arm raised by the referee before leaving the ring and heading back up the ramp with Hennig, both smirking down at JTG as he sat up looking disappointed.

Winner: Cody Rhodes by pinfall.

Jim Ross: Cody Rhodes gets the win t'night, an' have you ever seen a look that smug King? You'd think he's heading t' Wrestlemania t' face Shawn Michaels.

Jerry Lawler: Well you heard the gorgeous Bella twins earlier King. Cody won't 'ave liked that JR.

We're shown interviews from earlier in the day, starting with The Big Show as he arrived in the arena, being stopped by Leticia Cline.

Leticia Cline:
You've had a couple of strange matches with Chris Jericho the last few weeks, two count outs with both of you winning one each, plus he along with Triple H eliminated you in the Royal Rumble. T'night there'll be no count outs. Do you think that helps you Show or not?

The Big Show: Well at least this week he can't run away like a coward like he did last Monday night. He knew what would've happened if he stayed in that ring with me. T'night he's definitely getting knocked out, then I'll be going t' No Way Out, not Jericho. It's that simple.

The footage quickly switches to Leticia interviewing Chris Jericho as he too entered the arena.

Leticia Cline:
Chris, last week you were counted out against The Big Show. T'night you won't be able t. . .

Chris Jericho: . . . Excuse me but what happened last week was irrelevant. Ever since Eric Bischoff made this match last week, all I've heard is Big Show is going to knock me out and how I can't win all because he's twice the size of me. That was irrelevant when I eliminated him from the Royal Rumble. That was irrelevant when I beat him by count out two weeks ago. The fact is I may not be the largest athlete in the world. I am however the best in the world at what I do. That is why with my superior intelligence and talent I will overcome The Big Show t'night before going to No Way Out where I will once again be victorious to ensure I headline Wrestlemania and become the new WWE Champion.

*Match #4*
Number One Contender Qualifying Match
No Count Outs
The Big Show vs. Chris Jericho

Both men were desperate to join The Undertaker in qualifying for the number one contender triple threat match at No Way Out in two weeks. Show especially was looking very determined, looking like Jericho had gotten under his skin in recent weeks. Jericho played it smart and after Show got a warning from the referee to close his fists, the minor distraction allowed Jericho to dropkick him in the knee. After placing Show's leg on the rope and bringing all his weight down on it three times, he eventually managed to apply a figure four leg lock. Show was clearly hurting but held on, pissing Jericho off before forcing his way out of the hold. Jericho wasn't happy at all, and after they managed to make their way back up, Show fired him into the ropes, but Jericho ducked a clothesline and quickly turned to take Show down with a chop block.

Jericho stomped all over the ankle and even dropped an elbow on it. He continued to work away at, but Show came back fighting, dodging a one arm bulldog and catching Jericho with a clothesline. Jericho was rattled as a fired-up Big Show took the fight to him, nailing him with a headbutt before nailing him in the corner with some body shots. The fans were enjoying it as Jericho slumped forward holding his stomach, but Show showed him no mercy and grabbed him, getting a rake to the eye for his troubles. Jericho turned to run the ropes and came back at Show, only for The World's Largest Athlete to meet him with a spear. The crowd erupted but as they counted along with the ref, Jericho got his foot on the rope at two to deny Show the win for the time being.

Show though was desperate to put Jericho away and stood back up, watching Jericho sit up before lifting his huge right hand into the air, getting ready for the chokeslam. The fans were cheering, and Jericho was oblivious as he stood up and staggered round into Show's clutches, but as Show tried to lift him, his ankle buckled and he fell to one knee, allowing Jericho to run the ropes and nail him with a dropkick to the face. He quickly followed it up with a lionsault but Show kicked out at two, not going down well with Jericho, especially with the fans cheering. The frustration began to show with the Canadian as he stood up and urged Show to do the same, slipping behind him as the giant hobbled back up, seemingly getting ready for the Codebreaker, and he was. Show dodged it though and stepped forward as Jericho hit the mat, but not for long.

As he stood up and Show turned round, Show went for a clothesline, only for Jericho to duck and the referee to take the brunt of it. He fell to the mat and stayed there as Jericho low blowed the shocked Big Show. The fans shit all over the remorseless Jericho as he looked down without an ounce of regret before heading to the apron and leaving the ring to get a steel chair. The fans booed as he entered the ring with it and tried to warn Show as he sat up. Jericho coolly walked towards him with a big smile on his face as he watched Show struggle back up to his feet. The smug Canadian lifted the chair up above his head with the ref starting to squirm but not able to see the action, and Show stood up to see Jericho bring the chair crashing towards him. Show though hammered the chair with his huge fist and it fell to the mat, surprising the life out of Jericho who this time fell victim to a chokeslam.

The fans were cheering, but the frustration was there for to see for Show as he stared down at Jericho and then saw the chair on the mat too. The fans cheered even more as he leaned down to pick it up, and as he did and again stared down at Jericho, the referee sat up and turned round to see Show with the chair and Jericho flat on his back. He then called for the bell, disqualifying Show for what he thought was use of the chair. Show pleaded his case, absolutely furious as he tried to tell the ref what happened, but he was having none of it, and when Jericho made it back up, Show snapped and nailed him with the chair before tossing it down to the mat. Show shook his head for a fair few seconds before leaving the ring unhappy with "Crank It Up" playing as the victor lay flat on his back in the middle of the ring.

Winner: Chris Jericho by DQ.

Jim Ross: If only Eric Bischoff made sure there were no disqualifications as count outs. Jericho got real lucky t'night an' because of that he's going t' No Way Out with The Undertaker an' either Randy Orton or Triple H.

*Match #5*
Non-Title Match
Shawn Michaels vs. Ted DiBiase w/Maryse

The Heartbreak Kid received a huge ovation from the fans as he entered the arena in his first match since winning the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble just over a week ago. DiBiase on the other hand was greeted by a chorus of boos, something he & Maryse didn't appreciate, but he was particularly angry at seeing Matt Sydal, the Smackdown superstar he'll meet at No Way Out joining JR & King at the announce table. Before the bell was rung, he made some gestures towards Sydal, and Maryse gave Sydal and his girlfriend, Mickie James some filthy looks too. Michaels was calm & composed and started the match well, taking control. It was Maryse who changed that and brought her boyfriend into the match when she grabbed Michaels' foot as he ran the ropes. Shawn stopped and looked down at her, as did the ref who gave her a warning, allowing DiBiase to catch HBK as he turned round with a falling clothesline.

Ted put the boots to the WWE Champion and kept him grounded before going to the ropes for a delayed falling fist drop. Michaels kicked out at two and Ted tried to keep control of the match but couldn't with Shawn countering a side headlock with a side suplex. The fans were behind The Showstopper all the way and he gained momentum of the match again, however as we got towards the end of the contest Ted turned the tide when he rolled out of the way of a diving elbow drop from the top rope by the WWE Champion. As they then both picked themselves back up, Ted ducked a wild clothesline and caught him with a neckbreaker, but Shawn got his shoulder up at two to stay in the match. Ted wasn't at all happy and questioned the ref's count, not that it made any difference.

He quickly turned his attention back to Shawn and was begging him to get up, and Shawn did as he was told. Ted stomped him in the gut and lifted him up for a vertical suplex, but he walked over to the apron and dropped him on to the top rope. Michaels was in no man's land and Ted dragged him across the top, leaving his feet hanging on before drilling him with a rope hung stunner. Michaels looked all but out and Ted turned him over by the ropes before making the cover, only for Michaels to get his foot on the rope before the ref could count to three. DiBiase couldn't believe it and sat up holding his head in his hands. Eventually he stood up and backed away from the ropes as Shawn sat up, and the arrogant third generation superstar was getting itchy feet with his eyes locked on the WWE Champion.

Michaels battled his way back up and Ted pounced straight away, trying to lock in the Million Dollar Dream, but Michaels fought it and turned round to lean forward and toss him over his shoulders and into the mat. DiBiase rushed back up, walking into jabs to the jaw. Michaels tried for an irish whip but it was reversed, but he ran through off the ropes again to come back for a flying forearm smash before a kip up to a big roar from the fans. They were cheering as Michaels had his sights set firmly on DiBiase, who stood up and walked into a scoop slam from The Heartbreak Kid, and it was second time lucky for Shawn as he connected with the diving elbow drop to another massive pop. He then retreated to the corner and tuned up the band with the fans stomping their feet in the crowd and banging their hands together as DiBiase picked himself back up, oblivious to what was waiting for him.

Maryse tried to warn him, but as he stood up, Michaels exploded out of the corner and took his head off with Sweet Chin Music to an almighty roar. The WWE Champion made the cover, getting the all but inevitable three count to pick up the victory before celebrating his victory with "Sexy Boy" blasting out, posing with the WWE title on the second rope while an unhappy Maryse looked on. Shawn then left the ring and slapped hands with the fans on the way back up the ramp, stopping on the stage to turn around and lift his title up for one last pop with DiBiase sat up in the ring looking angrily up at him. Michaels then turned to walk backstage but DiBiase shouted something at Maryse, and she went to get a microphone, bringing it back into the ring for her boyfriend as he stood up looking furious as Shawn's music cut.

Winner: Shawn Michaels pinfall.

Ted DiBiase: T'night I was robbed again, just like I was at the Royal Rumble.

*Heat*

DiBiase turns round and walks over to the apron, staring right down at Sydal and Mickie.

Ted DiBiase:
It was your fault that night like it is t'night. You're the reason I didn't win the Rumble. You're the reason I'm not in the main event of Wrestlemania like I should be, all because you know I was the real breakout star of year, not you. You know you were lucky t' win that, but you won't be lucky at No Way Out when I make you pay f' screwing me out of that, the Rumble and the WWE title.

Sydal shakes his hand and stands up at the announce table with a microphone.

Matt Sydal:
F' once, why don't you do us all a favour an' shut your mouth?

*Big Pop*

DiBiase's livid in the ring, talking smack at the crowd.

Matt Sydal:
Ev'ryone knows you've got a big mouth. All this talk about main eventing Wrestlemania. You're crazy. You're all talk. All you need to worry about is No Way Out, but I'll be the one getting payback f' what you did t' me at the Royal Rumble. You're the one that screwed me but that's fine. I can't wait f' No Way Out t' get in the ring with you 'cause payback's gonna be a bitch.

The fans love that and cheer as DiBiase & Sydal stare right at each other, Sydal keeping cool with DiBiase livid as "Born to Fly" plays.

Jim Ross:
I don't know about you King but I sure hope that Sydal does get the payback he deserves at No Way Out when he meets DiBiase one-on-one.

Jerry Lawler: Same here JR. I know as well as anyone what a piece of work he is. I think ev'ryone hopes he gets what's coming to 'im.

World Tag Team Championship
No DQ or Count Out
Rey Mysterio & Mystico (c)
vs. The Epitome of Excellence

The new World Tag Team Champions, The Epitome of Excellence, Christopher Daniels & Kaval leave their dressing room ready for action when they're stopped by Todd Grisham.

Todd Grisham:
Gentleman, could I have a quick word with you.

Both Daniels & Kaval stop.

Christopher Daniels:
If it's quick. We've got a match any minute.

Todd Grisham: Yeah absolutely. I just wanted to ask you how it feels to finally be the tag team champions as well as your reaction to what happened in that match when Sheamus attacked Rey Mysterio because some people have questioned whether. . .

Christopher Daniels: . . . We said it'd be quick and it will be. What happened last week was unfortunate. We don't dispute that but what we do know is we deserved t' be champions before last week. We've said that all along. This time it went in our favour when it hasn't before an' we're not going to apologise f' that. All that matters is we're the champions, we deserve t' be an' soon anyone who disputes that will see diff'rently.

Daniels & Kaval give Todd the eyes and walk away for their match all business it would seem.

Jay Lethal is warming up backstage, stretching when Kelly Kelly & Gail Kim walk towards him and he stops, getting a filthy look from Kelly in particular.

Jay Lethal:
You got a problem or somethin'?

Kelly Kelly: As a matter of fact I do, the way you've treated Kofi. He's your brother y'know. What you've said an' done t' him is just wrong.

Jay Lethal: Is that so? That's funny coming from you barbie.

Kelly Kelly: What's that supposed t' mean?

Jay Lethal: I think you know what it means. It's not just Kofi I've watched since he came t' the WWE. I've seen those around him too, more specifically you an' how you led him on an' used him. Maybe you should look at y'self before you start on me.

Kelly looks stunned with Gail slightly surprised as Jay walks away from the two divas.

From Three Weeks Ago!

The Big Show & Shawn Michaels
vs. Triple H & Chris Jericho

Triple H storms the ring and breaks up the cover with a stomp to the back of the head. Michaels is furious, as are the fans, and The Heartbreak Kid flies through the ropes and runs across the mat to clothesline The Game over the top rope, and the momentum takes him with the WWE Champion. Show & Jericho are both down as Michaels & Triple H try and make it back up to their feet on the outside, and Michaels gets there first and helps The Game up, but the WWE Champion reacts in a flash to send Michaels crashing into the steel steps.

Boos come from the stands, and back on the inside Show & Jericho claw their way back up as The Game drops to his knees and leans against the apron. He stops and a light goes off above his head, and he reaches under the ring, pulling out a sledgehammer to a ton of heat. He stands up and lifts his trusty ally up, looking at it with a sadistic look on his face. He slips back in the ring with Show & Jericho clueless, but the ref sees him and The Game just shoves him aside to run at Show, NAILING HIM IN THE SKULL WITH THE SLEDGEHAMMER!!!. . . . .

The ref calls for the bell, disqualifying Trips & Jericho, and the Canadian stands up looking shocked to see Show knocked out. The Game turns round and stares right at his partner, worrying Jericho. He has every right to be as the WWE Champion paces across and DRIVES THE SLEGDEHAMMER INTO JERICHO'S FACE!!!. . . . . A barrage of boos are thrown at The Game as he stands amongst the wreckage, then glares over at the referee, and the ref looks like he's about to make a mess in his pants. Triple H walks menacingly towards him with the ref really panicking.

"I hear voices in my head. . ."

The crowd erupts and rise to their feet as Randy Orton, for the first time in almost two months walks out to the stage. The Game turns round, shocked to see a seething Orton standing there glaring down at him with a face like thunder. He slowly heads down the ramp, eyes fixed solely on the stunned WWE Champion as he watches the man he put out on the shelf at Survivor Series on his way for revenge. The Game gets ready to take his head off as Orton calmly steps through the ropes and continues staring at Triple H.

They then charge at each other, TRIPLE H SWINGING THE SLEDGEHAMMER AT HIM, BUT ORTON DUCKS AND HITS THE RKO ON THE GAME!!!. . . . . It's absolutely deafening as Triple H hits the mat, sledgehammer falling alongside him. Orton stays on his knees but shimmies round, sticking his head right next to The Game's staring at him as he lies there out cold on the canvas. "Voices" hits again with the fans still cheering, and Michaels sits up on the outside, groggy and looking on shocked too with Orton still glaring intensely at the fallen WWE Champion as the show comes to a close.

Gauntlet Match for Number 30 in the Royal Rumble
The Undertaker vs. Triple H

Everyone including Taker watched eagerly awaiting his next opponent, and the WWE Champion made his way out to deafening heat. Fortunately for Triple H he came up against a slightly beaten down opponent, and it looked like The Game was about to win the fall when he sidestepped a high angle suicide dive that saw Taker hit the floor. The phenom just made it back into the ring before the ref could count to 10, really pissing Triple H off. He helped the resilient Taker up from his knees and fired him into the ropes, planting him with a spinning spinebuster as he came back. The Game meant business and didn't go for the cover, choosing now instead to go to straight to the Pedigree.

He watches Taker struggle back up to his feet and instantly stomps him in the gut, pulling him into place, but Taker counters with a back body drop. Both men are on their knees and they pull themselves back up with the crowd watching closely. The Game's so intense and charges at Taker, for a clothesline, but Taker ducks it and Triple H knocks down the referee, and he stays down. Trips looks shocked, but as he turns round, Taker grabs him around the throat for a chokeslam. The fans go nuts, but the WWE Champion responds with a swift kick to the groin, bringing out a ton of heat from the livid Missouri crowd. Triple H shows no remorse though as he sadistically watches Taker writhing around in agony. He now turns his head and crawls across the mat, slipping out of the ring and looking under it, bringing out his sledgehammer to a ton of heat.

The crowd erupts with a deafening amount of boos for the WWE Champion as he slips back in the ring with his trusty ally. He stands up looking at it with a sick look on his face as Taker claws his way back, completely unaware of what's in store. The Game's ready to snap, and he does, racing across at the phenom, but Taker counters with a big boot to put the WWE Champion down, losing possession of the sledgehammer as well. The fans love it too, and Taker looks furious as he sees the weapon, and he picks it up to another almighty pop cheer. The fans are going crazy as Taker gets a feel for the sledgehammer as Trips sits up, but so does the referee and he sees Taker holding the sledgehammer and wrongly calls for the bell to disqualify The Undertaker.

Neither man knows what's happening until Triple H is announced as the winner of the fall and the match to win the number 30 spot in Sunday's Royal Rumble, and for the first time in weeks the WWE Champion has a big smile on his face as he stands up with Taker shell shocked. Taker throws the hammer down, landing on the apron as he stares at the referee as he stands back up too. Taker shakes his head and turns round in disgust, reluctantly leaving the ring to a bombardment of boos with The Game getting his arm raised. "The Game" hits with the crowd furious, as is Taker as he takes one livid look back before heading backstage, leaving Triple H throwing his title defiantly up into the air.

?: Cut the music.

The music is indeed stopped and The Game looks up at the stage, confused & angry to see Eric Bischoff walk out.

Eric Bischoff:
It appears there's some kind of confusion, but this match, well it isn't over.

The fans cheer loudly as the WWE Champion shakes his head in disgust, not looking all that surprised as he looks up at Bischoff.

Eric Bischoff:
There's still one man left to run the gauntlet, so referee please stay where you are 'cause we're not done just yet.

Bischoff steps to the side with Triple H mouthing some derogatory remarks up at him.

"I hear voices in my head. . ."

The crowd goes nuts as Randy Orton calmly walks out to the stage, turning his head slightly to look at Bischoff who's got a wry smile on his face. The Viper looks menacing as he sets off down the ramp, eyes fixed firmly on the man who put him out of action at the Survivor Series. The Game's seething inside but resigns himself to the fact he's got another match to get through as Orton climbs up the steps and enters the ring to a massive roar from the Missouri crowd. He stares intently over at Triple H, ready to go after over two months out.

Gauntlet Match ctd
Randy Orton vs. Triple H

The Game can't believe what's going on and snaps, running right at Orton, swinging the WWE title at him, but Orton ducks it and jumps up in the air as they both turn round, planting him with the RKO to a crazy pop. Missouri is going nuts for Orton as Bischoff looks on with a smile before heading to the back. Orton though isn't satisfied and just stares at The Game, still on the mat, getting his head in close to Trips'. The Viper's not done though and he shifts his position, then drives his fists into the mat forcefully, wanting more as the WWE Champion starts to come round.

His eyes are all over the place, and it takes him a day & age to get to his knees, not knowing where he is. Orton does though with the fans all on their feet cheering, and as The Game makes it up, still all over the shop, The Viper strikes with another RKO, this time going for the cover and getting the three count. The roof's almost blown off the arena as Missouri goes wild for Orton, who leans back on his knees looking down intensely at the man who put him out for two months.

Orton now slowly stands up to get his arm raised as he is announced as number 30 in the Royal Rumble. He turns his head and looks into the stands, still cheering like crazy, but he turns back and sees the WWE Championship on the mat. He coolly walks towards it and reaches down to it, slowly also before picking it up and looking right at it with intent. He looks down at The Game again, who's flat on his back with Orton standing above him with his WWE title.

From Last Week!

Kofi looks at him in disgust and storms off with Todd bemused as to what he said that rattled Kofi.

*Match #6*
The Colons & Kofi Kingston
vs. The Epitome of Excellence & Jay Lethal

The new World Tag Team Champions didn't receive the warmest of welcomes to say the least, nor did Jay Lethal. They meant business though, but they faced tough opposition in Carlito and his brother, Eddie, but especially Kofi. He was well & truly fired-up for this one, but after doing a number on Kaval, Kaval reached up to tag in Jay. Kofi's brother calmly entered the ring with a smug smile on his face, but Kofi looked hesitant like he did at the Royal Rumble when he froze at the crucial point. He turned back and tagged in Eddie, slapping his hand before joining Carlito on the apron. As the match was drawing to a close, he was back at the heart of the action after being tagged in by Carlito at the same time Kaval was tagged in by Daniels.

They went at it furiously with Kofi ducking a wild clothesline and hitting the S.O.S. Kaval kicked out at two and was back up quickly, but so was Kofi as he ran into the ropes and jumped on to the second rope for a springboard reverse elbow smash. The fans were loving it, and Kofi was feeling it. He hit the ropes, going all the way up top for an incredible high angle cross body. The fans cheered as he took Kaval down, landing on top of him for a cover. Kaval kicked out and they again picked themselves back up. Kofi was first to strike again, this time with a leg feed enzuigiri. He didn't go for the cover though and geared up for the Boom Drop, and he hit it.

Kaval showed his resilience though by getting his shoulder up, much to the relief of Daniels & Lethal. Kofi shrugged off the disappointment in a flash though and stood up, all set for the Trouble in Paradise. That was until Daniels hit the ring, but the ref quickly blocked him off. Lethal then stepped through the ropes to try & get towards his brother, but he was cut off by Carlito as he & Eddie stormed the ring. The fans cheered as they went at it with the ref losing control. Carlito knocked Daniels down but Lethal managed to lift Eddie over his shoulder and over the top rope, all the way down to the floor. Carlito then caught him with a clothesline, before Daniels snuck up behind him and tossed him through the ropes.

As he turned round though, Kofi nailed him with Trouble in Paradise, but Kaval was back on his feet and quickly ran the ropes past Kofi and nailed him with the Tidal Wave, a springboard roundhouse to pick up the win for him, Daniels & Lethal. The ref raised Kaval's arm to heat from the crowd before he went to help his groggy partner back up while Lethal sat up laughing at seeing Kofi take the loss. They then left the ring looking back smiling as Kofi sat up unhappily, joined then by Eddie & Carlito. They tried to help him up as the winners turned to walk backstage, but Kofi stood up in a strop and pushed them away before leaving the ring, stomping his way back up the ramp with a face like thunder, confusing the hell out of the Puerto Rican siblings.

Winners: The Epitome of Excellence & Jay Lethal by pinfall.

Jim Ross: I don't know what's got into Kofi the last couple of weeks King, maybe frustration, but it's another win for his brother Jay an' the new tag team champions t'night.

We're taken backstage to the locker room we're shown a split screen of Randy Orton & Triple H getting ready for their main event match later on, both looking fired-up.

Jim Ross:
We're not far away from one of the biggest main events in recent Raw memory, but right now we're about t' see Melina challenge Queen Kong for the Women's Championship she lost to the unbeaten behemoth at Night of Champions last month.

*Video Recap*
From Last Week!

Melina vs.

Not only will I use it but I'll take my title back an' be the first person to beat. . .

[color="Red"]Queen Kong's music hits and the Women's Champion walks out to the stage looking as scary as ever with her eyes fixed firmly on Melina in the ring.

*Match #7*
Women's Championship
Melina vs. Queen Kong (c)

Melina knew she was the underdog but she took the fight to Kong from the word go, getting the fans onside and rattling the behemoth. The undefeated Women's Champion looked stunned too with Melina having an answer for anything thrown at her. Eventually when Kong took control, Melina showed some serious guts & resilience, getting her shoulder up after a hellacious samoan drop. Kong stared down furiously at the challenger before she then stood up and dragged Melina closer to the corner. The menacing monster slowly climbed to the top rope, giving Melina time to sit up, and she threw herself into the ropes to put Kong in a seated position on the top rope.

Melina took some much needed recovery time before going to work, applying a neck-scissors choke to Kong before hitting a head-scissors takedown. She then climbed up to the top rope with the fans supporting her as Kong picked herself back up. She turned round and Melina dived off the top for a cross body, but Kong caught her and went for a swinging side slam, only for Melina to counter with a DDT. The fans loved it and Melina threw herself across the mat to make the cover, but Kong kicked out at two to leave the challenger and the fans disappointed. Kong began to sit up and Melina allowed her to before hitting the ropes and taking her down with the Extreme Makeover.

With Kong face down, Melina raced to join her, struggling to lock in the California Dream, but she managed to to a massive pop. Kong was clinging on with the fans cheering for her to tap out, but she didn't and eventually managed to power her way out of it. Melina didn't let that get the better of her and nailed her with a stiff kick to the gut, and then tried for a single arm DDT, but Kong stood firm and lifted her up off her feet before tossing her into the canvas. She then ran the ropes and came back looking for a splash, but Melina rolled out of the way to another pop. Both women clawed their way back up and Melina ducked a right hand before stomping Kong in the gut.

She ran into the ropes but got caught with a release back body drop. Kong dragged her right back up and fired her into the corner before charging in and connecting with a devastating body avalanche. Melina fell forward, flat on her face and Kong stared down intensely at her before kicking her over on to her back. The Women's Champion then climbed up to the top rope with Melina motionless beneath her. The fans looked worried and were right to be as Kong then came off the top for the Queen of All Splashes to get the three and retain her title. The behemoth stood up and was handed her title, barely allowing the ref to raise her hand as she stared towards the squirming Melina, a brave effort from the challenger.

Winner: By pinfall, and still the Women's Champion, Queen Kong.

Jim Ross: Well we knew it was going to be an uphill battle for Melina t' win here t'night but she gave it ev'rything she had. Kong though King, she looks unstoppable.

Jerry Lawler: She sure does JR. I don't think there's anyone who can stop her, no one, an' I'm not gonna try let me tell ya.

Jim Ross: Nor me. When we come back though folks it'll be time f' our main event. Randy Orton'll go one-on-one with Triple H. Don't go anywhere whatever y'do. We'll find out who'll join The Undertaker an' Chris Jericho at No Way Out in just a few minutes.

Spoiler for WrestleMania Teaser:

*The Main Event*
Number One Contender Qualifying Match
Randy Orton vs. Triple H

Both Orton & Triple H walked out into the arena with purpose, watched by a very interested spectator in Eric Bischoff as he sat on his leather sofa in his office. It was a very even start to the match, no one able to get the upper hand in what was a very competitive match as you would expect given their recent history. The Game was the one who gained some serious initiative when he rolled away from a knee drop, standing up to take Orton down with a falling neckbreaker. He did everything he could to put Orton away, and came close after hitting a spinning spinebuster, only for Orton to kick out at two. The frustration was beginning to show on the former WWE Champion's face, but he thought he was just moments away from winning his place at No Way Out as he stood up, keeping his eyes on his squirming opponent. Orton unwittingly dragged himself back up, turning into a kick to the gut and found himself pulled into place for the Pedigree.

The fans booed, worried The Game was about to finish Orton, but The Viper escaped with a back body drop which was met by a big pop, and as both men picked themselves back up, Orton ducked a wild right and quickly caught Trips with an inverted headlock backbreaker. The crowd cheered and both men pulled themselves up to their feet and Orton kept the momentum going, nailing Trips with a couple of uppercuts to the jaw before firing him into the ropes and taking him down with a spinning powerslam. The fans were quick to get behind him as he stood right back up with Triple H following, hobbling up and into a sleeper. Orton locked it in and The Game was in trouble, desperately trying but failing to escape the hold with the fans cheering. The Game was faltering and fast, and the ref was there in a flash to test his ability to continue, lifting his arm and dropping it, and on the third occasion the former WWE Champion just managed to keep it up to stay in the match.

He fought his way out of it but was sent into the ropes again. He held on to them as Orton tried for a standing dropkick and hit the mat, and as he stood back up, Trips ran at him and took him down with a clothesline and then a single arm DDT when Orton stood up. The King of Kings could only get a two count but then tried to make Orton tap in the figure four leg-lock. The fans showed their support for Orton, and it helped as he fought through the pain and managed to drag himself to the ropes to a big pop. Trips was pissed and tried to help him up, but the ref held him back, allowing Orton to use the ropes to help get back up. Trips was right on him, walking right into an extended elbow that sent him staggering away from the ropes. Orton stepped out and ducked a wild clothesline before exploding with the RKO out of nowhere.

The crowd went nuts as Orton slowly crawled across to make the cover, hooking the near leg and the ref made the count, counting to three despite Trips' foot being on the rope, and he saw it as he stood up and pointed it out. Orton wasn't happy but took it on the chin and he turned to look down at The Game as he started to come round. He stepped back and watched The Game climb back up using the ropes, turning into a clothesline from Orton that took him over the top rope on to the apron. The Viper blocked a right hand from Trips and nailed him with a right of his own and then dragged him through the ropes by his head, setting him up for and then drilling him with a rope hung DDT to another big pop. The Game was flat on his face, not moving a muscle as Orton turned him over, hooking both legs this time, but The King of Kings got his shoulder up, but only just to the disappointment of the fans. Orton again took it on the chin and backed away as Trips came round, trying to sit up.

The Viper stared intently at him, getting ready to explode with the running punt. The fans were willing him to hit it as the oblivious Triple H dragged his way up to his knees, giving Orton all the invitation he needed to charge at him. The Game saw him coming though and pulled down the ropes with Orton falling over them all the way down to the floor. He sat up having dodged a bullet, and he knew it as Orton crawled across the floor towards the announce table. Triple H took some time to shake off the cobwebs before slipping out of the ring under the bottom rope to go after Orton, pulling him up from his knees to drive his head into the table. Orton fell to the floor again and a black cloud came over The Game as he stripped the announce table, prompting JR & King to shoot up from their seats. The referee panicked and joined him on the outside, pleading with Trips to rethink and get back in the ring, but he didn't, brushing past him to drag Orton back up and shove him on to the table.

Some of the fans were cheering but most were nervous as Trips jumped up on it, setting him up for the Pedigree dispute the ref's pleas. The Game looked into the crowd with Orton unresponsive, but not for long as he sprung to life, catching Trips completely off guard with the RKO to send them both crashing through the announce table. The fans went nuts and the ref couldn't believe what he was seeing, jumping up & down before checking on them, both laid out in the wreckage. He then called for help from the back and EMT's quickly came running out to attend to them with Bischoff shown watching on surprised from his office, stood up watching the TV. Orton started to show some sort of movement, lifting his head up and responding to the medics while the others checked on Triple H, who started to open his eyes too like Orton, leaving everyone concerned & confused as Raw came to a close.

Result: No Contest.

Jim Ross: What does this mean f' No Way Out? I've no idea King. I guess we'll find out next week. Make sure you're with us folks t' find out what Eric Bischoff will do about this. 'til then folks, take care an' we'll see you next week live down under from Melbourne Australia. What a night it'll be! You won't want t' miss it!

WWE Wants Big Name for WrestleMania 25

Earlier today we received reliable information from word going around last night at Raw that the WWE have reached out to a few of their former top superstars in regard to them appearing at the 25th anniversary of Wrestlemania.

We understand that the company feels having one of the biggest stars from the past will benefit the occasion and that it would mark the significance of the 25th anniversary. From what we've been told they want a former star to work a match at the show that will be live in London, England as well as several dates before to build the match. With the show heading to the United Kingdom, it's seen that they need to reach out even more to the American audience, and bringing in a huge name will help do that.

Several names have been mentioned, and unsurprisingly they include 'Stonecold' Steve Austin & The Rock. Other names mentioned include Brock Lesnar & Goldberg but it's unlikely that Lesnar will be there due to his UFC contract. Goldberg we believe would be willing, but scheduling issues may count The Rock out, and maybe Austin as well. His physical state isn't considered to be an issue for a one time deal. Several matches have been pitched, and if what we're being told is right, the priority is for either Rock or Austin, and they will more than likely be going up against CM Punk or John Cena, dependant on who creative decide will move forward as the World Heavyweight Champion. Whoever doesn't hold the title would then meet Rock or Austin, and we can all but confirm that despite their title match last Friday night being deemed their 'final encounter', they will meet again for the title for the last time at No Way Out, most likely in a Steel Cage or Hell in a Cell match in theme with the name of the pay-per-view.

>Board Representative To Tackle Punk's Actions<

We have been contacted by the Board of Directors who have advised us that after CM Punk's despicable actions last week on Smackdown when he used his 'GTS' finishing move on Stephanie McMahon, a representative of the board will be on hand this Friday night on Smackdown to deal with the World Heavyweight Champion.

After overcoming John Cena in their 'final encounter' for the World Championship, Stephanie entered the ring and exchanged words with Punk, resulting in her attempting to slap him. The World Champion however blocked it and unbelievably decided to put her 'to sleep'. It was met with shock by everyone in attendance and is likely to be met with strong ramifications from the board.

They didn't advise us which member of the board will be dealing with Punk but surely he will be dealt with strongly after his assault on the Executive Vice-President? You'll have to tune in to Smackdown this week to find out just what punishment is handed out to the World Champion.

Friday Night 'Live' Smackdown
Friday 30th January 2009 - Preview!
Live from the North Charleston Coliseum
North Charleston, South Carolina

This Friday night will see the fallout of last week's shocking conclusion to Smackdown when the World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk hoisted Stephanie McMahon up on to his shoulders after his successful title defence against John Cena and did the unthinkable, hitting the GTS on the Executive Vice-President of the WWE. It shocked everyone, and few will defend him despite Stephanie's attempt to slap him after another heated exchange of words between them, seconds after his 'fortunate' victory over Cena, again featuring an albeit minor distraction from Raw's Homicide who helped the World Champion regain his title at the Royal Rumble five nights earlier.

We were informed earlier this week that a member of the Board of Directors will be on hand to address Punk's actions with Stephanie having suffered a broken cheekbone in addition to the shocking resignation of Tazz as General Manager. With Stephanie out of the picture for the time being, maybe he would like to change his decision but he has indeed left the company, meaning that Smackdown now has no authority figure. Will this also be addressed by the board's representative? What action will fall upon CM Punk? All we know is that it's sure to be an eventful night in North Charleston.

We learnt last week that at No Way Out in just over a week, Christian & Edge will meet in a TLC match, and this Friday night we will see the Toronto born brothers sit down to talk about that match and their problems with Matt Striker. It should make for interesting viewing as these two are never short for words!

We'll also see the conclusion of the first round of a tournament put together by Stephanie last week that'll determine who will become the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship. We heard Alberto Del Rio & Chavo Guerrero complain about the American fans last week amongst several things, and they were told by Stephanie that they'd be in action this week for the first time as a team. Will it be a first time win for them? Also in action we believe are Bobby Lashley & Charlie Haas as they all look to join The Empire as well as Paul Burchill & TJ Wilson in the last four.

One man who will also be in action is Bryan Danielson. The protégé of 'The Heartbreak Kid' and new WWE Champion, Shawn Michaels will go one-on-one with 'The All-American American' Jack Swagger in what should be a fantastic contest between two tremendous athletes with great potential.

Dolph Ziggler, the new United States Champion was quick to give his thoughts on the comments made that he didn't deserve to win the title at the Royal Rumble given what happened to Matt Sydal before that match at the hands of Ted DiBiase. Ziggler went on to win his match and we hear that he's still not satisfied with the criticism aimed at him. Will he have something more to say this week?

It promises to be an eventful night on Smackdown this week, a week before we go down under. Make sure you don't miss it as the odds are you're going to regret it!

>Confirmed for this week on Smackdown!<

The last two first round matches in the number one contender tournament for the WWE tag team titles!
