*Video Recap*
From Last Week!

"This Fire Burns"

A chorus of boos with some cheers mixed in greets the former World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk as he strolls out to the stage in jeans a T-shirt, also wearing a big scowl on his face as he stops and looks into the crowd. He heads off down the ramp, still one unhappy camper and he picks a microphone up off the steps as he enters the ring. He steps inside and again looks into the crowd, not getting much love from them as his music is cut by the guys in the production truck.

CM Punk:
Y'know I was asked the other day what one thing I wan'ed in 2009 an' I couldn't answer that. There's so many things I want that it's almost impossible to narrow it down. The first thing I want is my world title back at the Royal Rumble in two weeks. . .

*Ton of Heat*

CM Punk: It's gonna happen, mark my words, but right now it' not about that. There are bigger things t' deal with before the Rumble, namely being our Executive Vice-President, Stephanie McMahon Helmsley.

*Mixed* (Mostly Cheers)

CM Punk: See the next part of the answer to that question was that I want her gone from Smackdown. I don't want her throwing her weight around anymore like the spoiled little daddy's girl that she is, costing me the World Championship in the process. After what she did last week she's now way out of her depth. She complains about me compromising the image of this company but she's the one who's going t' run this show into the ground, an' that's before the dreaded day she gets her hands on the whole company. Even Stephanie if she sits back must see what a total mess she's caused all by herself, but saying that she's not totally responsible. Not that you'd know it but we actually have a general manager t' run the show, only it seems that he's only too happy t' let Stephanie do whatever the hell she pleases.

Punk turns and looks up at the stage.

CM Punk:
Tazz I know you're back there somewhere, probably looking for the balls you supposedly used t' have but you have t' listen to what I have t' say. This isn't about CM Punk, this is about Smackdown. You were hired because you were seen as being this no nonsense boss who wouldn't let things get out of hand. Well I'm sorry t' break it t' you boss but right now you've gotta step up an' do your job. You've gotta do what you should've done a long time ago an' tell Stephanie t' stay away from where she doesn't belong before I actually put her t' sleep on your watch, an' that won't be good news for either of us.

"13"

The General Manager, Tazz walks out to the stage with a microphone, stopping & staring down at Punk with the fans cheering, most of them with some booing though as he heads off down the ramp and into the ring. Again he stares at Punk, not looking too impressed as his music stops.

Tazz:
What you want me t' say Punk? You want me t' tell Stephanie t' go home? Do you realise this is her company? She can do what she wants. I might be the General Manager but she's still my boss. I answer t' her, not the other way round. I can't tell her she can't walk out here, not unless I wanna risk losing my pay cheque, an' I'm not gonna do that f' you Punk, even if I had the power.

CM Punk: I think we know what the problem is. It's not that you don't have the power. It's that you don't have the guts t' stand up to the McMahons. She might be your boss but she's mine too. Has it stopped me telling her what I think of her an' how she's making a mockery of this show, of this company? I'm the one standing up to her. That's what you should be doing. You've got ev'ry right t' tell it like it is. That's why you were hired in the first place, but look at you know. You're a joke. You're a mockery of what you used t' stand for. Now you're just another a corporate sell out just happy t' collect your pay cheque ev'ry month. You don't even care that Stephanie's made you completely worthless. She's doing your job for you f' crying out loud. Man up. Where's the fire we saw from the ECW Tazz huh? Where's that passion, where's the guy who stood up to authority an' spoke his mind? The only question right now that really needs an answer is when was the last time you looked down an' saw a pair of balls between y'legs?

The crowd are stunned, gasping in amazement as Punk gets Tazz hot, and the GM takes off his jacket and slowly loosens his tie.

CM Punk:
Whoa, am I getting a reaction from you? Is there actually some fire inside that huge belly of yours? Am I making you angry boss. Good, because that's exactly how I feel with Stephanie walking around here sticking her nose in my business. Now before it's too late do what deep down you know you have to, tell her t' get the hell off this SHOW.

Punk & Tazz stare right at each other, Tazz absolutely seething, looking like he wants to choke Punk out.

"I'm all grown up now. . ."

A big pop with some boos as well breaks out as Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley walks out to the stage, looking down at the ring with Punk watching her as she makes her way down to join them, not at all happy as she walks past Punk & Tazz to collect a microphone. Her music stops and she walks into the centre of the ring, staring right at Punk who stares right back.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley:
Now I think it's obvious I didn't come out here to talk about my divorce. I came out here to talk about you Punk, about what you did last week, what you've been doing for a while now and what you've said t'night. The first thing I'd like to point out is that I'm perfectly happy with the job Tazz is doing as general manager. Also, when he says I can do what I want with it being my company an' all, he's right. I can do whatever I whenever I want.

*More Cheers*

Stephanie McMahon: You on the other hand can't. If you have a problem with that you can do what you threatened last week and walk away. My job is t' do what's best for this company, and having someone like you openly disrespect this company the way you have been, it doesn't fit the image we. . .

CM Punk: . . . Oh enough already. Are you gonna keep running with this whole image crap? What you mean is you don't want someone telling the truth an' speaking their mind, but the truth hurts right? You can keep talking about how I don't fit the (air quote) image you want t' p'tray but in reality I'm the perfect image. I'm the perfect role model. I don't drink, I don't do drugs, I don't smoke. I'm straight edge an' I'm always straight up unlike most people around here. Not only that I came from wrestling in front of ten people t' becoming the World Heavyweight Champion, a title I held f' seven months until you took it away from me.

*Mixed*

CM Punk: I climbed t' the top of this company by working my ass off. I didn't get a helping hand like some people have, an' I certainly didn't have a world title handed to me on a plate. That's what makes you uncomfortable Stephanie, that I'm not one of your hand picked (air quote) superstars. I got where I am by being me, bein' honest and being the best damn wrestler, not superstar in this whole company.

*Loud Mixed Reaction*

CM Punk: I don't want that an' I know how stubborn you are. You're a McMahon. You think you know best when actually you don't. Even John Cena said that last week when he did the right thing an' gave up the world title that should still be mine, an' whether you like it or not Steph, at the Rumble it will be mine aga. . .

"My Time is Now"

A thunderous pop with some boos mixed in hits the arena as John Cena hits the stage. He's not in his usual mood either as he salutes the crowd before heading down the ramp, joining everyone in the ring, looking right at Punk before walking past him to get a microphone.

John Cena:
Alright cut the music.

The music stops and everyone looks around at each other.

John Cena:
I can't believe I'm sayin' this f' the second week in a row, an' even though you did speak a whole lot o'crap just now Punk, you're right. You're right about one thing, an' Steph, he's right about you.

Cena turns to Stephanie who looks confused.

John Cena:
I love this company more than anything an' I know it's in safe hands long term, but right now Steph, Punk's right. You need t' stay out of this. This isn't about image, free speech or anything like that. It's about one thing an' one thing only, being the World Heavyweight Champion.

*Big Pop*

John Cena: When Punk said he came from nowhere t' climb t' the top of the ladder by workin' his ass off, that's what it's all about. That's why we're here, an' even though ev'ryone knows my feelings as far as he's concerned, but what you did at Night of Champions was wrong. Last week when you did it again, that was wrong too. This whole thing's gotten way out of control an' it's gotta stop, an' this might sound crazy but I'm gonna make a stand t'night. Clearly you're not gonna listen t' Punk so hear this. I wanna be World Champion but not in the way it happened at Night of Champions or how you screwed 'im again last week. I wanna win it fair an' square. I don't want any favours. This is all about one thing, competition. Right now Steph you've made it about ev'rything but, an' if you screw Punk again at the Rumble, or me f' that matter, I'll be out of the door in a heartbeat an' I won't come back.

A huge amount of cheers & boos break out as everyone in the arena looks stunned except Punk who's got a big smile on his face.

CM Punk:
John I applaud you f' that. Maybe now Steph you can see that what I've been saying isn't just sour grapes. You're the reason there's no World Champion. You're the reason your poster boy threw the title you handed him on a plate right back in your face last week. Now he's even threatening t' walk out on you because of the actions you think are best for the company. The best thing you can do right now Steph is turn round leave the ring, walk back up that ramp, go home an' look after your baby girls, 'cause lt's face it, they've not got a daddy anymore. . .

John Cena: . . . Hey, that was uncalled for dog, just like that sucker punch you got in on me last week.

CM Punk: Alright, maybe I crossed the line that time but there's no way in hell I'm gonna apologise to her after what she's done t' me lately. As f' you John, well you can f'get about getting an apology until I get my world title back at the Royal Rumble, which I will by the way.

John Cena: Yeah? Well I guess we'll find out in two weeks, or maybe just maybe we can find out right now. . .

Cena shocks everyone by tackling Punk down to the mat to a big pop. There's some boos too as he hammers Punk with right hands, but Tazz doesn't like what he sees and pulls Cena up, trying to reason with him as Punk sits back up. Cena ignores his boss with Steph watching too, and he goes after Punk with Tazz following as Punk jumps back up and goes to take Cena's head off with a roundhouse kick, but he ducks it and Tazz walks right into it. The GM falls to the deck to the shock of the crowd, Cena, Punk & Stephanie. Cena & Steph look down concerned and check on him as Punk turns his back on them and leaves the ring, not looking at all interested as he heads back up the ramp. He doesn't look back with Cena & Stephanie looking up disapprovingly at him, but he doesn't see as he walks through the curtain.

***

CM Punk is shown walking back from the ring, not all that happy as Josh Matthews approaches him.

Josh Matthews:
Punk can I get a quick word with you?

Punk stops & stares right at Josh.

CM Punk:
You wanna a word about what, what I just did t' Tazz? Quite frankly I couldn't care less. I meant t' kick Cena's head off but what does it matter? It's not like it makes any diff'rence around here. We all know who calls the shots an' it's not Tazz, an' until someone does stop Stephanie an' she sees what I'm saying an' even what Cena's saying, I'm not coming back until the Royal Rumble when I get my world title back. An' when that happens Josh, things are finally gonna change.

Josh Matthews: What do you mean by that?

Punk smirks and brushes past a confused Josh, seemingly walking out until the Rumble in two weeks.

Michael Cole:
Welcome all t' Friday Night Smackdown. We're live t'night in Duluth Georgia, just under a week away from the 20th anniversary of the Royal Rumble on pay-per-view. The closer we get, the more chaotic it gets it would seem, on Raw as well as here on Smackdown.

Matt Striker: You're absolutely right Michael. History will be made next Sunday night when for the first time ever, the WWE Championship will be defended in the Royal Rumble match. Triple H has superstars from both Raw an' Smackdown breathing down his neck, and even though the odds aren't exactly in his favour, there's still a chance he could retain his title. We will however crown a new World Heavyweight Champion when John Cena meets CM Punk in a rematch from their controversial encounter at Night of Champions, but last week CM Punk walked out on Smackdown. He said that as long as Stephanie McMahon is around he won't return until the Royal Rumble.

Michael Cole: It certainly caught a lot of people by surprise despite the problems he's had with Stephanie as of late. You have to wonder if what both Cena an' Punk said last week has made Stephanie think about ev'rything that's happened lately. Later on this evening though we will hear from CM Punk. He may not be here for the next couple of weeks but earlier this week Matt met up with the former World Champion t' talk openly about all the controversy that's gone on recently. You'll see what Punk had t' say and it's fair t' say he didn't pull any punches. Isn't that right Matt?

Matt Striker: That's an understatement. I was surprised by some of the things he had t' say but that can wait until later because we've got a lot more t' look forward to t'night. Personally I'm looking forward to Bryan Danielson going one-on-one with Edge. Danielson has been very impressive since joining Smackdown, and only two weeks ago he defeated CM Punk, albeit in controversial circumstances, but Edge has a challenge on his hands t'night.

Michael Cole: He sure does. Edge isn't the only one with a challenge on his hands though, because we'll see the new WWE Tag Team Champions The Empire defend their titles for the first time against a team that haven't just reunited lately but are back to being close to their best in Paul London an' Brian Kendrick. They earned the right t' meet The Empire t'night and the titles will be on the line in what should be an incredible match.

"My Time Is Now"

A huge roar breaks out in the crowd as John Cena hits the stage with some boos too as he stops and looks into the crowd, salutes them and heads off down the ramp looking fairly relaxed it has to be said. He picks a microphone up off the apron as he makes his way into the ring, smiling into the stands with the deafening noise still ringing around the arena. Cena stands there smiling, soaking it up as his music comes to a halt.

John Cena:
Wow, it's been crazy f' a while now but it sounds crazy up here in GEORGIA T'NIGHT.

*Big Pop*

John Cena: And if you've not heard, my opponent next week at the Royal Rumble, CM Punk has decided t' stay home 'til then.

*Heat*

John Cena: Really I should be out here calling him a coward or a cry baby but the fact is he's got a point. Ev'rything's got way out of hand lately an' it's not Punk's fault. As much as I hate t' say it Punk's right about what's been goin' down the last month or so. Hell he's not even blamin' me at the minute. The person he's put all this is on is Stephanie McMahon, an' he's right, so much so I handed the world title I won Night of Champions back to the person who should be in charge round here. . . Tazz.

*Mixed*

John Cena: I know there's a lot o'people who've got their reasons f' why I came here from Raw but the bottom line is I came here f' one reason, t' become the World Heavyweight Champion.

*Big Pop (Some Boos)*

John Cena: It was Tazz that brought me here an' at Night of Champions I earned the right t' fight Punk f' the world title, but 'cause Steph decided t' get involved, an' even though I technically won the match, ev'rythin' about it was wrong. I've never wan'ed handouts contrary t' what's said by some people behind that curtain, but 'cause of what happened that night we don't know who'd 'ave walked out World Champion. Next week though at the Rumble, we will. There's just one problem. As long as Steph's here, an' I'll use Punk's words not mine, an' she's throwin' her weight around, I can't say what happened at Night of Champions won't happen again. Punk doesn't want that, Tazz doesn't want that, I sure as hell don't want that an' I'm sure you guys don't either. All I want's the same thing Punk wants, a fair fight. I want the fight that Tazz has put in place, no holds barred one fall to a finish where the winner walks out undisputed World Heavyweight CHAMPION.

*More Cheers*

John Cena: It's as simple as that. One match, two men, let the best man win. If that man's me, great. If it's not, then so be it. All we wanna do is find out who the real champion is, an' as long as no one sticks their nose in our business, that's all we ask.

*Cheers*

John Cena: Now that brings me t' the difficult subject of Stephanie. I've never had a problem with her but the way things are right now, an' I'm saying it again, Punk's right. As long as she's here we're gonna be lookin' over our shoulders. We've already got a GM, an' far as I'm concerned Tazz has got things under control. It only got out o'hand when Steph turned up, an' now she's gettin' involved in Punk's matches, my match at Night. . .

"I'm All Grown Up Now"

Looking like she means business, Stephanie McMahon struts out to the stage and looks down at Cena, giving him a strange look, not all that pleased with him it would seem. She has a microphone in hand and heads down the ramp to a largely positive reaction, entering the ring looking right at Cena. Her music cuts as she walks towards Cena and she still looks like she means business.

Stephanie McMahon:
So John, I have t' say I was surprised listening backstage to what you just said. Surely you don't need me to remind you of who runs this company, an' if you've got problems with the decisions I've made, then maybe you should go join CM Punk in sitting at home, because there are plenty of superstars back there who would happily take both your places. Personally I think you an' Punk are acting like spoiled brats. You'll both be fighting for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble. What more do you want John?

John Cena: You don't get it do y'Steph? Fighting f' the world title is one thing, but earning it's another. It's about proving t' yourself that you're the best in the business. At Night of Champions you took that away from us. I wan'ed the world title more than anything else in the world. It's why I left Raw, but I didn't leave t' have it handed t' me on a plate. I don't wanna be seen as the poster boy, management's favourite or anything like what Punk's said time an' time again. I don't wanna be remembered like that, an' after what you did at Night of Champions, it's only gonna make that worse. At the Rumble we've got the chance t' make up f' what happened that night. I've got the chance t' beat Punk, an' since that's what you seem t' want, I'm askin' you t' trust me Steph. I'm askin' you t' step back an' let me do what I'm here t' do. I'm askin' you t' let me beat Punk by myself, no more crap like Night of Champions or a couple of weeks ago. If you get involved an' screw Punk over again, what d' y'think that'll do f' the image of the company? That's been your problem Steph. You do that again, you'll piss Punk off, you'll piss me off, you'll piss ev'ryone back there off an' more importantly you'll piss the fans off.

*Pop*

John Cena: What is good f' business Steph is lettin' two of the best in the business fight it out f' the biggest prize in the business. That's what's gonna happen, but if you get involved again you'll ruin that. No one wants that, an' this is tough f' me t' say but it needs t' be said. I didn't want any part of it last time, an' if it does happen again at the Rumble then I'll walk away like Punk, only I won't come back.

Stephanie looks shocked with Cena looking back at her, letting her know he means it.

"Break Down The Walls"

To the shock of the Cena & Steph and the fans, Chris Jericho walks out into the arena to a ton of heat holding a microphone and wearing his casual clothes. He calmly walks down to the ring and without a care in the world steps inside and glances at both of them and his music stops.

Chris Jericho:
I can't believe I'm standing here saying this John but after what you just said, I respect you for saying what needs t' be said. However as is always the case ev'rybody is still talking about you. It's always about you. Yet again John Cena is in the spotlight, the centre of attention but there's somebody else sat at home Stephanie because of you. How many people will it take to tell you that you're ruining this show? Even though the so called general manager of this show doesn't have the guts to tell you that, I do. I might not be a Smackdown superstar anymore, but as the next WWE Champion and the best in the world at what I do, I believe it's my duty to stand up an' speak my mind.

Jericho stares right at Steph, not pulling any punches.

Chris Jericho:
When I win the Royal Rumble and become the new WWE Champion, I don't want your lack of intelligence or ability to ruin my credibility or take the attention away from me, which you will if you carry on the way you are.

Even Cena doesn't look to have an issue with what Jericho's saying, standing back and looking into the crowd. Stephanie though doesn't look at all pleased.

Stephanie McMahon:
Well Chris, since you took the trouble to come here and let me know what you think of me, let me take the time to return the favour. Like CM Punk, I don't need anyone telling me what t' do, let alone you.

*Pop*

Stephanie McMahon: He can sit at home all he wants, but seeing you two are here t'night and you both have a lot t' say, I have an idea. You might not like it but later on in our main event, it's going t' be Chris Jericho going one-on-one, with John Cena.

*Big Pop*

Cena & Jericho look over at each other with Stephanie looking pleased with herself.

?:
Alright that's enough.

The General Manager of Smackdown, Tazz stomps his way down the ramp clutching a microphone with everyone in the ring realising business has picked up, and as Tazz steps inside, he walks right over to Stephanie.

Tazz:
Look, I don't care what these guys 'ave said about what's been goin' on with you. I didn't have a problem with you comin' here an' puttin' Punk in his place, but last week an' now t'night, you're gettin' way too involved. Right now you're undermining me like the match you just made an' takin' charge last week. I'm the one who makes the matches around here. That's my job, not yours.

Chris Jericho: Amen.

Tazz: As it happens Chris, even though it wasn't my idea, you're gonna face John Cena t'night.

*Pop*

Tazz: As f' you Steph I'm only gonna say this once. You've taken over the last couple o'weeks an' I'm not gonna take it anymore. Either I'm the general manager or you are. It's your call.

Stephanie McMahon: Okay I admit I might've overstepped the mark making that match just now, but last week I only took control of the show because you were told t' take it easy on medical grounds. I have no intention of taking over permanently or replacing you. I'm perfectly happy with you being general manager, but if you want to talk this through maybe we should go back an' talk it out in your office where we won't be interrupted?

Tazz: Sure that sounds like a good idea. An' just so we're clear you two, you will be in the main event t'night. Good luck t' both of ya.

"13" plays and Tazz turns round to leave the ring, followed by Stephanie as Cena & Jericho stare at each other, talking smack while Tazz & Steph head back up the ramp chatting away.

Michael Cole:
Well it would seem that Stephanie an' Tazz will be ironing out their diff'rences t'night, but what a main event we have in prospect. John Cena will go one-on-one with Chris Jericho. That Matt, I think we can all look forward to.

Matt Striker: Absolutely. They've both got a lot to fight for at the Royal Rumble and t'night they can get themselves ready for what will be a historic night in Greensboro North Carolina.

*Commercial Break*

*Video Recap*
From Last Week!

"On A Mission"

Out into the arena come the WWE Tag Team Champions, The Empire. Wade Barrett & Drew McIntyre follow Katie Lee who's waving the Union Jack and William Regal stands in between the champions. The British quartet all appear to be very relaxed as they make their way down the ramp into the ring despite the heat coming from the fans and the events of last week thanks to The UK Pack. Barrett walks over to the apron and asks for a microphone, then heads back to the centre of the ring, standing alongside his Empire stable mates with a smug look on his face.

Wade Barrett:
When we came here last year we vowed to be the WWE Tag Team Champions in 2009 and here we are.

*Major Heat*

Wade Barrett: We said it would happen and it has. There was never any doubt in our minds and not even what happened last week made the slightest bit of diff'rence t' the fact we're extremely proud of our achievements. We're not going t' let a typical petulant reaction from the former champions change that. The only thing that matters is that we're the champions now and believe me, we will be for a long time t' come.

"Britannia"

The former tag team champions, Paul Burchill & TJ Wilson walk out to the stage in their ring gear along with Harry Smith (wearing an ankle boot) & Natalya Neidhart. Burchill has a microphone in hand and lifts his hand up, asking for the music to be cut with The Empire all looking up at the stage.

Paul Burchill:
The nonsense you come out with never fails to astound me. How you have the nerve to stand there and call yourselves role models and an inspiration? You might have stolen the titles from us but we will have our chance to get them back. . .

Wade Barrett: . . . Of course, your rematch. You'll have to excuse my confidence but I think it's only fair t' tell you that we're not worried in the least about that. There's only one thing that's troubling us is just who exactly we'll have t' face out of you lot. Essentially it doesn't matter because we'll beat any combination.

Paul Burchill: Well we've had the chance to talk about this the last week, and thanks t' you, Harry's still unable to compete for at least the next six weeks, so we've decided that myself an' TJ will. . .

Stephanie McMahon walks out to the stage with a microphone, walking towards The UK Pack.

Stephanie McMahon:
I'm sorry to interrupt but as far as this plan for a rematch goes I think you'll all want to hear what I have t' say. . . Now as much as you're all aware you're entitled to a rematch, there is I'm afraid a problem with the rematch clause. As TJ was a stand-in for Harry, the rematch doesn't apply to him. Essentially it will have to be you Harry when you're cleared to compete along with Paul who takes part in the rematch. However that doesn't mean we can't give you guys a chance to challenge our new champions.

Everyone's looking confused and they're all looking at Stephanie as she looks down to the ring at The Empire.

Stephanie McMahon:
Last week gentleman you had a match, your first as champions, in a non-title match it must be said, but you lost to Paul London an' Brian Kendrick. They too have a claim for a title match. So what we're going t' do t'night is have ourselves a number one contenders match.

*Pop*

Stephanie McMahon: It's going t' be, Paul, you an' TJ, taking on Paul London an' Brian Kendrick.

*Big Pop*

Stephanie McMahon: In fact, the winners will get their title match right here next week, and we're going t' find out who that'll be right now.

*More Cheers*

Stephanie McMahon: So gentleman, if you didn't mind leaving the ring we can get this started.

The Empire do take their leave as a referee runs out from the back, carrying on down to the ring as The UK Pack head down there too with Harry & Natalya giving them some encouragement.

"Hey You"

Paul London & Brian Kendrick
fly out to their stage to a big pop as Stephanie turns back and walks backstage with London & Kendrick hitting opposite sides of the stage. Burchill & Wilson keep their eyes on their opponents as they make their way down to the ring with The Empire watching on from ringside too.

Number One Contenders Match
Paul Burchill & TJ Wilson w/Harry Smith & Natalya Neidhart
vs. Paul London & Brian Kendrick

Wilson's eyes are locked on Kendrick, and as Kendrick turns round, Wilson comes off the top and nails him with a DIVING SIT-OUT DROPKICK TO THE FACE!!. . . . . The fans are enjoying this as the pumped-up Canadian jumps up to his feet and helps Kendrick up from his knees, pulling him under his arm. Wilson runs into the corner and drills him with a TORNADO DDT!!! . . . . . Kendrick's not moving and TJ shimmies round to hook the near leg for the cover. . . . . 1. . . . . 2. . . . . . . . . . No! Kendrick gets his foot on the bottom rope, drawing a lively reaction from the crowd.

TJ sits up holding his head in his hands in shock, much to the amusement of The Empire. Wilson sees Kendrick starting to stir and climbs back up to his feet. He heads over to the apron and steps through the ropes onto it, right in front of Barrett & McIntyre. They taunt the Canadian and he turns round to talk some smack back as Kendrick gets to his knees. Harry loses it and wanders round with Burchill following, getting into it with Barrett & McIntyre, and Regal too gets involved, as do & Natalya & Katie Lee. Wilson turns round and sees Kendrick almost back up. He panics and hits a springboard, but Kendrick counters with a SUPER KICK!!!. . . . .

Kendrick jumps right down on TJ, flat out, and with Burchill oblivious on the outside arguing with The Empire, Kendrick makes the cover. . . . . 1. . . . . 2. . . . . . . . . . 3! The bell rings and "Hey You" blasts out to a big pop with London joining Kendrick in the ring as Burchill & Smith turn round, shocked to see London & Kendrick getting their arms raised and being announced the winners. The Englishmen are stunned, as is Natalya as The Empire back away laughing with London & Kendrick watching the champions back up the ramp. They signal they want the titles with The UK Pack also staring up at the champions who smirk back, not fazed by any of them.

Paul London & Brian Kendrick are shown walking through the halls of the arena and walking into their locker room, both looking very serious with their huge match later on.

Michael Cole:
Later on t'night folks the tag team titles will be on the line an' those two men right there, former champions, Paul London an' Brian Kendrick will take on the men who won the titles at Night of Champions three weeks ago, The Empire. Can they complete an incredible resurgence an' leave here t'night as the champions once again?

We're taken across the back and Josh Matthews is standing by.

Josh Matthews:
Please welcome my guest at this time, 'The Rated-R Superstar' Edge.

The camera zooms out and reveals Edge standing there alongside Josh in his ring gear, not looking in the best of moods it has to be said.

Josh Matthews:
Edge, there's a lot of excitement going around right now on both Raw an' Smackdown concerning the Royal Rumble that you'll be a part of for the WWE Championship. I wan'ed t' get your thoughts on the Royal Rumble with the WWE title being defended in the match for the very first time.

Edge: My thoughts Josh are real simple, I'm gonna win it. It doesn't matter what number I end up being, I'm going t' the Royal Rumble t' win the WWE Championship, it's as simple as that. Other people can think what they want but I know what it takes t' be WWE Champion, unlike my little brother. I don't know what makes Christian or those fans who f' some reason believe him an' think f' a second that he has what it takes t' win the Royal Rumble. It's a joke. There's no way in hell he'll win the Rumble or headline Wrestlemania. Me on the other hand Josh, I headlined Wrestlemania just last year. I was the main event, something he never has or ever will be. I will be again this year. I've been at the top f' the last few years. Christian's a dreamer. He needs t' remember that it was me who carried his ass to all those tag team titles we held. It was me that went onto become the King of the Ring an' a world champion, not him. He's gonna find out real soon that all it is is a dream, a dream I can't wait t' crush.

Josh Matthews: Well moving onto more immediate matters, you'll be in action later on against someone who's made a very strong impression here on Smackdown in Bryan Danielson. . .

Edge: . . . Hold it right there Josh. I'm not gonna take anything away from this Danielson guy but there are a lot of people getting carried away. Yeah he's got some talent, an' yeah he's picked up some wins, but I think they're forgetting who beat him not so long ago. Me, I did, an' I'm gonna do it again t'night. It doesn't matter who trained him, whether it's Shawn Michaels or Doink The Clown. The fact is I've beaten him before an' I'll beat him again t'night, an' hopefully my little brother's watching so he can see how a real world champion takes care of business.

The Rated-R Superstar stares defiantly into the camera for a couple of seconds and turns away, heading off into the night.

*The Opening Match*
Royal Rumble Qualifying Match
Bobby Lashley, Charlie Haas & J-Red
vs. Chris Masters & The Pitbulls

The face trio have been in control for the most part of the match, but Masters managed to bring himself & The Pitbulls back into it. He brought J-Red's momentum to a halt, catching him after a cross-body attempt and planting him with a fall-away slam. The Cruiserweight Champion felt the force of that one and has had to endure a beat-down from Masters. The Masterpiece is on top and stalks Red for The Masterlock, getting a whole lot of boos from the fans as the weary cruiserweight unwittingly pulls himself back up with Masters lying in wait.

Red makes it up, unsteady on his feet, and Masters looks to strike. Red ducks his grasp though, slipping behind and fleas to the ropes to safety. Masters is pissed, turns round and runs at Red, right into Red's raised boots. He sends Masters staggering back, and as he turns round, Red runs at him, right into a stomp to the gut from The Masterpiece. Masters grabs the Cruiserweight Champion's arm and fires him into the ropes, and as Red comes back he catches Masters off guard with TILT-A-WHIRL HEAD-SCISSORS!!. . . . .

The fans love it and cheer as Red crawls under the ropes onto the apron. Kash runs round at him, but he gets sent off the apron with a raised elbow by Red. Noble looks on as Red steadies himself on the apron with Masters clawing his way back up. The fans cheer as Red hits a springboard, flies through the air and connects with the RED ALERT, A DIVING SWINGING REVERSE STO!!!. . . . . The cheers continue as Red stands back up and decides to tag in Lashley, and the big man steps through the ropes, gearing up to tear Masters in half.

The Masterpiece starts to stir with the incredibly intense Lashley ready to pounce in his corner, eyes locked on him. Noble senses the danger though and hits the ring, running towards Lashley who plants him with a SPEAR!!!. . . . . It sends Noble rolling out of the ring to another big pop, and as Masters gets to all fours, Lashley helps him up and plants him with the DOMINATOR!!!. . . . . Kash rolls back in the ring, runs right at Lashley as he stands up, running into an OVERHEAD BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX!!. . . . .

Kash joins Noble on the outside and Lashley makes the tag to Haas, and he enters the ring with Masters, his former partner trying to get up to his knees. Haas sets his sights on him and pulls down the straps, slipping behind him with the fans cheering, willing him to end it, and as Masters struggles back up, Haas lifts him off his feet and hits the OLYMPIC SLAM!!!. . . . . Masters is down & out and Haas hooks the leg for the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

"Unstoppable" hits and Lashley & Red join Haas in the ring, all high fiving each other having all earned themselves a place in the Royal Rumble in just over a week.

Winners: Bobby Lashley, Charlie Haas & J-Red by pinfall.

Michael Cole:
That was a great performance from Lashley, Haas an' Red t'night. They'll be heading to the Royal Rumble now with Red continuing his incredible run since coming to Smackdown, an' the Cruiserweight Champion will be joined by Lashley an' Haas, whose momentum just picked up again t'night. They too will be looking to carry on impressing next weekend in the Rumble match.

We're shown a split screen of Bryan Danielson & Edge as they make their way through the back with their match up next.

Michael Cole:
Don't go anywhere folks. When we come back it'll be the highly impressive Bryan Danielson taking on 'The Rated-R Superstar' Edge. You won't wanna miss it.

*Video Recap*
From 2 Weeks Ago!

“GO. . . If you close your eyes. . .”

The crowd rise to their feet and go nuts for Christian as he strolls out to the stage, walking to the side and gazing into the crowd and nodding his head, looking very happy to be back. He sets off down the ramp, still getting a great reaction as he gets to the steps and enters the ring, picking a microphone up off the apron in the process. He walks into the ring and towards the corner, climbing up to the second rope, again gazing into the cheering crowd before stepping down and walking into the centre of the ring. His music cuts and it brings out the cheers even more as he smiles, clearly appreciating the reaction.

Christian:
Just in case anyone doesn’t see what’s going on here, Captain Charisma is back.

*Big Pop*

Christian: I’m good t’ go, I’m back an’ I’m back f’ one reason. If you caught the show last week you’ll know what or who that reason is. That being by gutless coward of a brother, Edge.

*Ton of Boos*

Christian: I’m not gonna beat around the bush, I’m gonna get right t’ the point. Thanks to Adam I was out of action almost two months an’ without knowing it at the time I missed out on the chance t’ fight f’ the shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions. That’s why I came back here in the first place an’ thanks to the best brother in the world a guy could wish for I didn’t get the chance t’ do what I’ve dreamed of all my life, but y’know what peeps? It’s cool. I’ve had a lot o’time t’ think things through while I’ve been laid up at home an’ I’ve got it all worked out. We’re at the end of this year but there’s that special time of the year coming soon. . . that being the road t’ WrestleMania.

*More Cheers*

Christian: What I didn’t know last week was what we found out on Raw the other night about the WWE title bein’ on the line in the Royal Rumble. You can bet y’bottom dollar I’ve got my eyes on that an’ going t’ WrestleMania as a world champion, but right now there’s something I need t’ do, an’ I came t’ do it t’night.

“Metalingus”

A ton of heat greets Edge as he slowly walks out into the arena with a microphone in hand, staring angrily down at Christian in the ring, and Captain Charisma stares right back at him. The music stops as they carry on glaring at each other, both furious.

Christian:
I’ve gotta admit I’m surprised t’ see you bring your ass out here Adam but I’m glad so I can say this t’ your face. I’ve waited a long time t’ say it but here it goes bro, I want your ass in this ring t’night an’ I’m not taking no f’ an answer.

Edge: Well bro, I hate t’ disappoint you but you don’t always get what you want. You can think what you want C but this match of yours, it’s not gonna happen. It’s not gonna happen because I’m a coward but it’s not gonna happen ‘cause I don’t wanna do you any more damage. See I know how bad I hurt you at Survivor Series an’ I’m pretty sure you’re nowhere near a hundred percent. . .

Christian: . . . Don’t give me that crap. You couldn’t give a rat’s ass about how my back is. If you could take me out you’d do it like that, just like you did when you took me out the first time. Would it help if I turned my back for ya, would it?

Edge: Fine, you want it t’night? You got it but you're gonna regret it.

Christian looks shocked as his angry brother stares down at him before turning round and walking to the back. Captain Charisma turns to the crowd and smiles with “If You Close Your Eyes” playing again.

***

Christian vs. Edge

Edge waits in the ring, eyes fixed firmly on Christian as he too stares at his brother, walking down to ringside and up the steps. Captain Charisma turns and looks into the crowd that cheer the Canadian, but Edge catches him off guard by running across the mat and sends him off the apron, barging him off it and crashing into the security wall. Christian's music cuts and the fans boo Edge as the opportunistic superstar slides out of the ring and puts the boots to his brother, getting even more heat. The Rated-R Superstar relents and looks into the stands, not at all sorry for what he's doing, and he's not done.

He bends down and helps his brother up from his knees to send him crashing into the ring-post. Again the fans boo Edge but he again shows no remorse as he simply stares down sadistically at his brother who's not moving. Edge looks up and towards the announce table, walking towards it as the referee tries to stop him, but it's hopeless as Edge strips it as Christian starts to stir. The fans boo as Edge shoves the ref aside and goes back after his brother, pulling him from the floor and grabbing hold of his tights and tossing him into the base of the table to yet more loud boos from the crowd.

He menacingly walks across again as Christian lifts his head up off the floor, and as he does so he sees one of the monitors Edge tossed aside right next to him. Edge stops & looks at Cole & Striker who plead with him not to do anything crazy, but as he looks back down at Christian, he tries to pull him up, but he gets a shock as Christian stands up and DRIVES THE MONITOR INTO EDGE'S FACE!!!. . . . . The fans go nuts as Christian, full of rage glares down at his brother, breathing heavily and drops the monitor. Edge is down & out but Christian turns to the fans, feeding off the cheers as he drags his motionless brother up off the floor and shoves him onto the stripped announce table.

The fans are on their feet now and it's deafening as Christian joins his brother on the table, again helping him up, setting him up for the KILL-SWITCH, AND HE HITS IT, SENDING BOTH MEN CRASHING THROUGH THE TABLE TO AN ALMIGHTY POP!!!. . . . . The fans love it as Christian tries to sit up, struggling to do so as Edge lies their flat on his back not moving a muscle. The ref runs over to check on Edge as Christian sits up, looking remorselessly at his brother as "Just Close Your Eyes" hits. Captain Charisma stands up in the wreckage and stands over Edge, staring down intensely at him, still not moving.

*Match 2*
Bryan Danielson vs. Edge

'Captain Charisma' Christian came out to join Michael Cole & Matt Striker at the announce table, not going down well with Edge at all. The Rated-R Superstar quickly realised he has a challenge on his hands in the ring, and the crowd have gotten right behind Danielson. He's taken the match to Edge and continues to, pummelling him with a series of stiff kick to the chest, finishing with one to the head. Danielson jumps right on him, grabbing his arm trying to apply the LEBELL LOCK!!!. . . . .

Edge panics and frantically crawls to the ropes, grabbing hold of the bottom rope. Christian watches closely as Danielson stands back up and watches Edge pick himself back up using the ropes. Danielson goes right back to work, chopping him across the chest, getting a lot of "WOO's" from the crowd. Danielson whips Edge into the ropes, but Edge holds onto the top rope. Danielson isn't happy and runs right at him, into a raised boot that sends him staggering away. He turns round and Edge races across the mat, into a drop toe hold and the LEBELL LOCK!!!. . . . .

The fans cheer like mad as Danielson puts the pressure on Edge who looks worried, desperately reaching out his right hand towards the ropes, but he's nowhere near. The fans scream at him to tap, but he doesn't with Danielson red-faced, hell bent on making him tap. Slowly Edge drags himself across the mat, trying to get to the ropes. Danielson tries to hold firm and the fans look worried as Edge gets closer, and he manages to drag himself to the ropes to a ton of heat. Danielson lets the hold go and backs away, and Edge pulls himself under the bottom rope to the outside.

Danielson can only watch as Edge stands back up, staring right at Christian. The Rated-R Superstar still isn't happy to see him there and walks towards him, getting right in his face and talking smack at him. Christian stands up and gives it him right back, pissing Edge off no end, but he turns his head, then catches his brother with a cheap shot. He knocks Christian to the floor to more heat as Danielson sneaks up from behind and tosses him back in the ring. He rolls back in himself and helps Edge up, but the Canadian reacts quickly to stomp him in the gut and drill him with the EDGECUTION!!!. . . . .

The fans aren't happy as the smug Rated-R Superstar stands back up and retreats to the corner, looking very pleased with himself. All of a sudden Christian jumps up on the apron, trying to get in the ring and at his brother. The ref blocks him off and Edge stands there laughing at his brother. He taunts the furious Christian, who sees Danielson picking himself back up. Christian calms down and talks some smack back, luring his brother towards him. Danielson sits up and sees the opportunity, sneaking up behind Edge and rolling him up. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

Danielson gets it and slips out of the ring in a flash, getting his arm raised by the referee as Edge sits up in shock, staring at the ref in desperation as he heads out to raise the smiling Danielson's hand. Edge turns his attention to his brother, and Christian smirks back at him, getting right under Edge's skin. Edge stands up and begs Christian to get in the ring with him, and he gets what he wants. Christian steps through the ropes as Danielson walks through the curtain. Captain Charisma walks up to his brother, both talking smack at each other, and it results in Edge shoving his brother. Christian nods his head, then shoves him back to a pop, but then Tazz rushes out to the stage with a microphone.

Winner: Bryan Danielson by pinfall.

Tazz: Alright you two, this has gotta stop. In fact you're both gonna get a warm-up for the Royal Rumble, one-on-one, against each other, brother against brother, right here live next week.

A massive pop breaks out as Tazz stares down at the ring with Edge & Christian glaring at each other.

Michael Cole:
Bryan Danielson does it again, although he owes a big thank you to Christian f' that one, but you just heard what Tazz said. Next week right here, live on Smackdown, just two nights away from the Royal Rumble that both Christian an' Edge are looking to win, they'll be colliding head on. That Matt will be huge going into the Rumble.

Matt Striker: Oh without question. We know how much both men want to win the WWE Championship in the Royal Rumble, but having to face each other just days before in what you expect will be an incredibly competitive match will be very interesting indeed. Its's a match I think we can all look forward to seeing.

Along with his girlfriend, Mickie James, the 2008 King of the Ring & United States Champion, Matt Sydal is shown making his way through the back, ready for action.

Michael Cole:
In just a few minutes we'll see the United States Champion Matt Sydal in action. Don't go anywhere. We'll be back before you know it.

*Commercial Break*

The WWE Tag Team Champions, The Empire, Wade Barrett & Drew McIntyre are shown getting changed in their locker room for their tag team title defence later on against Paul London & Brian Kendrick.

We cut across the back and Bryan Danielson is shown walking back from the ring to the backstage area, walking into his former trainer, 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels. Michaels smiles big time at Danielson and he smiles back, walking towards him.

Shawn Michaels:
Man, beating Punk an' now Edge, you're gonna have me worried f' the Rumble if you carry on like this my man.

Danielson laughs with Shawn laughing also.

Bryan Danielson:
Oh you better be worried. I'm gonna win that Rumble even though you want it too.

Shawn Michaels: That's the spirit my boy.

Michaels puts his arm round his former protégé and they walk up the hall laughing & joking.

*Video Recap*
From Last Week!

Elijah Burke w/Layla vs. Dolph Ziggler

Burke gets on with it though and pulls Dolph up with him as he stands back up, firing him into the corner with force. Ziggler's crashes into the turnbuckle pads chest first and with the crowd cheering, Burke pulls down his knee pads, getting ready for the ELIJAH EXPRESS!!!. . . . . It's getting a bit noisy in the arena to say the least as Burke storms across the mat at speed with Ziggler slumped against the pads. Burke jumps up at him with his knees but Ziggler escapes out of the corner and Burke's knees hit the pads instead as Ziggler drops to his knees by the ropes. They both claw their way back up, Burke struggling with an angry Ziggler watching him. Dolph's eyes are locked on him and he slips behind him to roll him up. . . . . 1. . . . . 2. . . . .

No, kick out from Burke. Again they race back up and Burke ducks a wild clothesline to whip Ziggler into the corner again, wasting no time to run in at him for a STINGER SPLASH!!. . . . . Dolph steps out again and Burke crashes into the pads. Ziggler slips behind him and connects with the ZIG ZAG!!!. . . . . Layla looks very worried on the outside as Ziggler pulls Burke away from the ropes and hooks the leg for a cover. . . . . 1. . . . . 2. . . . . . . . . . 3! "I Am Perfection" hits to heat from the crowd as Ziggler stands up, stern faced as he gets his arm raised by the referee. Layla joins her fiancée in the ring as Ziggler, not looking all that satisfied with the win heads over to the apron and calls for a microphone, and he gets one. He turns round and his music stops as he looks over at Burke slowly sitting up with Layla kneeling over him.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler by pinfall.

Dolph Ziggler: HEY, once you get up off your ass, there's something I want you t' do. I want you t' walk back there an' tell that buddy of yours Sydal that I'm coming after that United States title of his, only it's not gonna be his f' much longer, when like you, I beat him too. . . again.

"I Am Perfection" plays again as Ziggler drops the microphone on the mat with a big smug grin on his face, gesturing to the camera the United States title will be around his waist very soon.

*Match 3*
Non-Title Match
Matt Sydal w/Mickie James
vs. Chavo Guerrero

After a quick start from Sydal and a slow one from Chavo, the Mexican wasn't at all happy. He was determined to turn that around and came back fighting after lifting his knees up into Sydal's gut when the United States Champion tried to hit a standing moonsault. From there it was a fairly even contest and Chavo's on top now after hitting the Three Amigo's. He stands back up with a smug smile on his face, winding up the angry fans even more. With Sydal down he walks into the corner and heads up to the top rope, pointing to the ceiling to his Uncle Eddie.

Mickie looks worried as Chavo steps off and jumps into the Georgia sky for the FROG SPLASH!!!. . . . . No, Sydal rolls away to a big pop from the fans. Both men pick themselves back up and Sydal strikes first with a kick to the gut, then connects with a FEINT ENZUIGIRI INTO A HEAD-SCISSORS TAKEDOWN!!. . . . . The fans cheer again as the King of the Ring hits the corner and the top rope this time. Chavo makes his way back up and turns round to face the corner as Sydal comes off the ropes, hitting a JUMPING DOUBLE KNEE TAKEDOWN, HOLDING ON FOR THE COVER. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No! Chavo kicks out and both men pick make their way back up and Chavo blocks a kick, grabbing Sydal's foot and spinning him round. The Mexican kicks him in the gut and sets him up for a BRAINBUSTER!!!. . . . . Chavo lifts him up but Sydal slips down his back in a flash. Chavo's stunned and turns round into a HURRICANRANA!!!. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

Kick-out from Guerrero. They again pick themselves back up and Sydal pulls him into his body and plants him with the CYCLORAMA, A BELLY-TO-BELLY MOONSAULT SLAM!!!. . . . . A big pop breaks out and Sydal heads straight to the corner again, climbing up to the top rope. The fans cheer him all the way and Sydal looks down with Chavo down & out below him. The United States Champion leaps up into the sky and comes down on Chavo for the SHOOTING STAR PRESS!!!. . . . . The fans love it and Sydal wastes no time going for the cover, hooking both legs as the ref makes the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

"Born To Fly" hits to another big pop as Sydal stands back up, getting his arm raised by the referee with Mickie joining him in the ring, giving him a hug. She hands him his United States title too and he places it over his shoulder, smiling into the stands when "I Am Perfection" plays. A ton of boos come from the crowd as Dolph Ziggler strolls out to the stage in jeans, a T-shirt and leather jacket, looking very smug indeed. His music cuts and he has a microphone in his hand with Sydal & Mickie staring up at him, both not best pleased to see him to say the least.

Winner: Matt Sydal by pinfall.

Dolph Ziggler: Congratulations Matt. It's about time you finally got back on the winning track, but we both know it won't last very long.

*Heat*

Dolph Ziggler: You might've been the breakthrough star of last year but this year will be my year, starting when I beat you at the Royal Rumble an' become the new United States Champion.

More boos come from the crowd as "I Am Perfection" hits with a smug Ziggler looking down at Sydal with the United States Champion and his girlfriend not all that amused or impressed by him.

Michael Cole:
Dolph Ziggler may have got the upper hand on Matt Sydal recently but he showed t'night why he is the reigning King of the Ring and United States Champion, and if Ziggler thought he was going to have it easy at the Royal Rumble he better think again.

Josh Matthews is standing by backstage again.

Josh Matthews:
Please welcome my guest at this time. She is the Diva's Champion, Beth Phoenix.

The camera again zooms out, and there stands the Diva's Champion, Beth Phoenix.

Josh Matthews:
I think it's fair t' say we were all shocked last week, no one more than you I'm sure when O.D.B. spat in your face after her win. How did you feel when she did that?

Beth Phoenix: What she did was disgusting. Ev'ryone's said how unfeminine she is but that's not strong enough, she's absolutely disgusting. Not many people will stand up to her but I will. I'm not afraid of her at all. I'm not afraid of getting in the ring with her if that's what she wants.

The Glamazon turns her head and she stares away from the shot. The camera pans to the right and O.D.B. is standing there drinking from her flask without a care in the world, leaning against the wall.

Beth Phoenix:
You got something you want t' say?

O.D.B. steps forward and goes face-to-face with Beth, still without a care in the world, but she doesn't intimidate Beth one bit, and the Diva's Champion stares right into her eyes. O.D.B. sn-iggers and steps back, then walks away laughing, and an unimpressed Beth watches her walking away.

*Commercial Break*

Video footage from earlier in the week is shown with the former World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk is in a gym, stepping off a treadmill, sitting on a bench alongside Matt Striker. Striker too is in work-out gear and Punk takes a sip from a bottle of water, then wipes the sweat off his forehead with a towel before throwing it round his neck.

Matt Striker:
Well first off Punk, I want to thank you for allowing me to come speak with you like this. Obviously there's a lot going on right now as far as you are concerned with John Cena, Stephanie McMahon an' Tazz, but I don't think anybody expected what happened last week when you walked out on Smackdown, stating that you wouldn't return until the Royal Rumble next weekend for your no holds barred match against Cena for the world title. Have you since then had any regrets or comeback at all on your actions last Friday night?

CM Punk: Y'know Matt I've kind o'been waiting f' Stephanie t' fine me or maybe suspend f' me walking out last week. I mean she's been on my case f' weeks now, an' at the end of the day she's the reason I'm not there. Surely she gets that an' sees that I can't trust her apart from trying t' screw me over any chance she gets. The worst thing is I'm sure as hell she'll try an' do the same at the Rumble that she did at Night of Champions. My only hope is she realises by next weekend that she's made a complete joke of herself an' the company. F' her sake, she better. If she thought my actions after that night were out of line, she's in f' a shock if she screws me out of the title I've worked my ass off for an' t' keep. . . I busted my ass t' get in the position I was as World Heavyweight Champion, t' get t' that level, an' she took that away from me just like that, an' f' what? Because I don't fit the (air quote) image of this company? Come on, seriously. She's what's wrong with this company, not me, but she doesn't have a clue an' I'm sure as hell not gonna let that happen again. I'll do whatever it takes t' get the world title back that ev'ryone including John Cena still knows should be mine. If Steph does decide t' ignore my advice, then I promise you, she'll be sorry, but not me Matt, not sorry at all.

Matt Striker: I think it's fair t' say that even people who aren't the biggest CM Punk fans in the world will feel you've been hardly done by. . .

CM Punk: . . . Hard done by? I've been screwed, robbed, mugged, however you wanna put she stole ev'rything I've worked for t' get t' this point, not that she'd know about that. If my father was my boss I guess I wouldn't expect t' have to work f' anything either. You'll know how our business works Matt, what it takes, what you have t' give an' t' sacrifice t' even get a shot at the big leagues, an' once you get there, if you get there it's even harder, especially f' me. I've always been myself an' that's something Vince McMahon, Stephanie too haven't liked from day one. I'll speak my mind, an' because I do that instead of sucking up t' them t' work my way up the pecking order, I've made it even harder for myself, which makes it even more incredible that I managed to become the World Heavyweight Champion. There's no doubt I deserve it 'cause I earned it. I earned it. John Cena can't say that. He had it given to him on a plate because he's the McMahon's chosen one, their poster boy. I knew all that though when he came over from Raw, but f' them t' rob me like they did, it's pissed me off more than anything else my entire life. They might own the company but that doesn't give them the right t' do what they did. Had it been Vince who saw my talent an' gave me my chance, not Paul Heyman, this wouldn't even be an issue, but it is. Trust me Matt, they'll be sorry.

Matt Striker: Well that brings me to what I wan'ed to ask you next. Last week when you were on your way out of the arena you told Josh Matthews that the tide was going to change, and gathering from what you just said it sounds like you have something up your sleeve. Am I right in saying that?

CM Punk: Look, they're sure as hell not going t' be looking out f' my int'rests. That's down t' me. All I want is t' get the world title back, an' I know that there's a chance I'll get screwed over again. I've gotta make sure that doesn't happen, an' I will. Then when I get my title back, I know Steph's not gonna give up with this problem she's got with me. Someone needs t' make her see how clueless she is, an' who better than me? No one's as passionate as I am about this business and I will stop her Matt, mark my words because things need t' change.

Matt Striker: What exactly do you mean by stop her?

Punk stands up, picking his bottle of water up and taking a big gulp from it, then looks back at Striker.

CM Punk:
All in good time.

Punk smirks, leaving Striker confused as The Straight-Edge Superstar walks out of the shot.

*Video Recap*
From Last Week!

Mickie James w/Matt Sydal vs. O.D.B.

The fans cheer again as Mickie runs into the ropes, but O.D.B. counters and throws her into the canvas. The excitement from the crowd turns to tension as O.D.B. stares intently at Mickie as she claws her way back up, and as she makes it up, O.D.B. runs at her and nails her with a MONSTROUS LARIAT!!. . . . . She turned Mickie inside out and smirks as she looks down at her, but she doesn't look at her for too long. She reaches down and drags her back up, lifting her onto her shoulders. Sydal looks really worried as O.D.B. takes great satisfaction in planting her with a FIREMAN'S CARRY CUTTER!!!. . . . . Mickie's out for the count and O.D.B. confidently hooks both legs for the cover. . . . . 1. . . . . 2. . . . . . . . . . 3!

O.D.B. stands up smiling to get her arm raised and she walks over to the ropes with her music playing, looking down at the tentative Diva's Champion. O.D.B. steps through the ropes and grabs her flask from the apron before taking a swing. She walks over to the announce table and taunts Beth, asking her what she has to say about that, not getting much of a reaction. She doesn't seem impressed by Beth's lack of a response and takes another swig from the flask in front of Beth, then spits it in her face. The fans boo her as she laughs with Beth wiping her face, watching O.D.B. walk away, and the Diva's Champion looks furious as she removes her headset, not that O.D.B. has a care in the world, shrugging off abuse from the crowd as she heads towards the ramp, still smirking at her actions.

*Match 4*
Non-Title Match
Beth Phoenix vs. Jillian Hall

The Glamazon & Diva's Champion was in control for the majority of the match, and when Jillian found herself with some momentum, she got a little too cocky for her own good. She taunted Beth to get up, and when she did, Jillian ran into a forearm shot and a slingshot suplex. Beth's in complete control after a release power-bomb, and to the surprise of the fans, Jillian got her shoulder up at the count of two. The Diva's Champion shrugs it off and stands back up, bringing her defenceless opponent with her, lifting her up off her feet for THE GRAND SLAM!!!. . . . . The fans cheer as Beth shows off her strength, turning round to look into the stands and hits the finisher, and with Jillian down & out, she covers her with the ref dropping to his knees to count the fall. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

"Glamazon" plays and Beth picks up the comfortable victory. The ref hands her the diva's title and lifts her hand into the air with Beth raising the title into the Georgia sky, getting a positive reaction from the fans. She leaves the ring with the title over her shoulder, stopping at the top of the stage and turning round to lift the title up with both hands. The crowd cheer again but it turns to boos as O.D.B. attacks Beth from behind, bringing the music to a grinding halt. The fans boo like mad as O.D.B. puts the boots to The Glamazon.

She shouts down at Beth "How'd you like that bitch?" as three officials run out to try and pull her away, but she shrugs them off and takes a sip from her flask, staring intensely at them and freaking them out. She turns back to the squirming Diva's Champion and pours the remains of her flask all over her to more heat from the fans. They're disgusted as the remorseless O.D.B. turns back and shrugs her way past the officials without a care in the world as they now attend to Beth, who sits up wearily.

Winner: Beth Phoenix by pinfall.

Michael Cole:
That was absolutely uncalled for. There was no need whatsoever for O.D.B. t' do what she just did to Beth Phoenix. Someone needs to teach her a lesson.

Matt Striker: Oh I think Beth will only be too happy to after this. I certainly wouldn't like to be in O.D.B's shoes after what she's just done to the Diva's Champion.

Paul London & Brian Kendrick, the challengers for the upcoming tag team title match are shown walking through the back on their way to the ring, and now so are The Empire, both teams pumped & ready for action.

Michael Cole:
Well we're just a matter of minutes away from the tag team title match with The Empire, Wade Barrett an' Drew McIntyre defending their titles for the first time, up against former champions, Paul London an' Brian Kendrick. It promises t' be a terrific match. Don't go anywhere folks, you won't want t' miss this one.

*Commercial Break*

*Match 5*
WWE Tag Team Championship
Paul London & Brian Kendrick
vs. The Empire (c) w/William Regal & Katie Lee

London & Kendrick came out like a house on fire with the fans getting right behind them, catching The Empire by surprise early on. The champions responded and isolated London to take control of the contest, but the challengers came right back and have rattled the Brits. Regal & Katie have been looking on nervously in their corner as Kendrick takes it to McIntyre, coming back off the ropes after an irish whip, connecting with a flying forearm. The fans respond with cheers again as both men pick themselves back up.

McIntyre sees Kendrick and charges at him, running right into a leg lariat. Again they make their way back up with the Scot crawling to the corner. Kendrick follows in and hits a corner back-flip dropkick. McIntyre staggers out into a kick to the gut and Kendrick pulls the Scot's head under his arm. Kendrick doesn't hang about and runs back into the ropes, hits the springboard for a CYCLONE DDT!!!. . . . . Kendrick just drilled McIntyre's head into the canvas. He goes right for the cover, desperately hooking the leg. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

NO! Barrett storms the ring and stomps on the back of Kendrick's head to stop the count, and the fans are pissed. The ref stands up and gets in Barrett's face, telling him to get back to the corner. He does that and Kendrick & McIntyre crawl towards their respective corners, both making the tag. London & Barrett race through the ropes into the ring and London ducks a clothesline from Barrett, then catches the Englishman with a drop-sault. They pick themselves back up and London runs the ropes, racing back to hit a spinning wheel kick. London's getting some momentum and he's up first and watches Barrett rush his way back up, and London jumps up for the FRANKENSTEINER!!!. . . . . NO, BARRETT COUNTERS WITH A SIT-OUT POWERBOMB!!! . . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

Kick-out from London and Barrett can't believe it. He has no choice but to move on, and he does. He stands back up with London rolling onto his side, and the Englishman looks down furiously at him, desperate for him to stand up. London does make it up, struggling to get his balance as he turns into Barrett's path, and he's lifted up onto the shoulders for THE WASTELAND!!!. . . . . Kendrick's worried and so are the fans, but there's no need as London counters with a ROLLING ARM DRAG!!. . . . . The fans cheer again, and as both men scramble their way back up, London runs under Barrett's outstretched arm to nail him with a SUPER KICK!!!. . . . . Barrett falls flat on his back and London falls down on him, hooking the leg for the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

NO! Barrett somehow gets his shoulder up to the shock of everyone in the arena, London especially. He can't believe it as he sits up, dropping his head into his hands. McIntyre breathes a sigh of relief on the apron, and Regal & Katie do the same on the outside. Kendrick though shouts some encouragement to his partner, and as London looks down at Barrett, he sees that he's not moving yet. London stands back up and drags him closer to the corner, and he heads up to the top rope to a huge roar from the Georgia crowd. He looks down at Barrett, still barely moving. He leaps up into the air for the SHOOTING STAR PRESS!!!. . . . . HE HITS IT, IT'S OVER!!!. . . . . London reaches to the side and hooks the near leg for the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

Regal puts Barrett's left boot onto the bottom rope to a ton of heat, and the ref sees the boot there to stop the count. Kendrick sees it and jumps down off the apron to get into it with Regal, but Katie pushes her way past Regal to unleash a verbal tirade at Kendrick. London stands up and looks on, as does the referee with Regal stepping away from the confrontation. He reaches into his trouser pocket and slides something into the ring at Barrett. His fellow Englishman sits up in the ring and quickly grabs what appear to be brass knucks, just like at Night of Champions.

The ref turns round and notices, unlike London, and the ref tells Barrett to take them off when Paul Burchill & TJ Wilson stomp their way down the ramp. McIntyre & Regal see them, and the Scot jumps off the apron, heading round to the ramp with Regal with Katie still going at it with Kendrick. London watches on as the ref takes the knucks off Barrett, who runs at London from behind and knocks him down to the mat. Barrett then sees the former champions, and now Harry Smith & Natalya Neidhart following. Smith's still wearing his ankle boot as Burchill & Wilson get into a heated exchange with Regal & McIntyre.

Kendrick climbs back on the apron as Barrett hurls abuse at their rivals too with the ref trying to calm things down, stepping outside. London claws his way back up and crawls across the mat behind the oblivious Barrett. Kendrick sees what's going on and runs across the apron to kick Barrett in the face with everyone on the outside missing it. Barrett spins round in a daze, and London, back on his feet, nails him with another thunderous SUPER KICK!!!. . . . . Barrett hits the deck and Kendrick steps into the ring, then runs the ropes.

Burchill & Wilson see him coming and point to Regal & McIntyre, who turn round to see Kendrick FLY THROUGH THE ROPES TO TAKE THEM DOWN WITH A SUICIDE DIVE!!!. . . . . Regal & McIntyre hit the floor as London looks on with Barrett down & out. He sees the opportunity and hits the top rope again with the crowd going nuts. Kendrick stands up and looks on as London jumps into the sky again, connecting with the SHOOTING STAR PRESS TO A MASSIVE ROAR!!!. . . . . This has to be it and London makes the cover, hooking both legs with the ref making the count and the fans counting along with him. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3?

YES, WE HAVE NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!. . . . . "Hey You" blasts out to an almighty pop in the arena as Kendrick rushes into the ring to celebrate with London, and the new champions embrace in a big guy hug, both elated as the ref goes to collect their titles. Justin Matthews announces them as the new champions and the ref raises their arms and they lift their titles into the air, both very emotional. They hug again as Regal, McIntyre & Katie look on in shock on the outside.

Regal & McIntyre sit up on the floor in disbelief with The UK Pack smiling at what they're seeing, The Empire getting their just desserts after what happened at Night of Champions. Katie screams out in horror as London & Kendrick hit the corner, celebrating with their titles with the crowd still going crazy for them. Burchill, Wilson, Smith & Natalya back up the ramp, still smiling as the champs continue to celebrate with Barrett coming round, not having a clue what happened. The champions step off the ropes and look into the stands one more time with The Empire looking on shell shocked & furious!

Winners: By pinfall, and the new WWE Tag Team Champions, Paul London & Brian Kendrick.

Michael Cole:
I can't quite believe what I'm seeing. Paul London an' Brian Kendrick are the new tag team champions.

Matt Striker: Well you better believe it Michael because we do indeed have new tag team champions. I don't think they or The Empire expected it t' work out like this but the bottom line is they are the new WWE Tag Team Champions.

A split screen pops up showing John Cena & Chris Jericho heading through the back, game faces on as they prepare to meet next.

Michael Cole:
Up next folks is our main event. John Cena goes one-on-one with Chris Jericho. Whatever you do, don't go far.

*Commercial Break*

The General Manager, Tazz and the Executive Vice-President, Stephanie McMahon are sat down chatting in his office when The Empire barge in, absolutely furious.

Wade Barrett:
Did you see what just happened out there? We were robbed. . .

Tazz stands up off the leather sofa.

Tazz:
. . . Robbed? Well I wouldn't put it like that but I get y'point, it's just. . . well technically they didn't do anything wrong, an' you were gonna use those brass knucks, but hey, you got caught t'night. Honestly guys I wouldn't complain if I were you.

Wade Barrett: Fine, but you know we've got a rematch and we will get our titles back.

Tazz: You're right, you do, only we're gonna do it on my terms. So no one can complain, ev'ryone's gonna be barred from ringside, an' that means ev'ryone Regal. You too Katie.

Barrett, McIntyre, Regal & Katie Lee all stare angrily at Tazz with Stephanie standing up.

Stephanie McMahon:
You heard him. Now if you didn't mind, we were discussing some important matters when you interrupted us. If you can shut the door on your way out we'd be very grateful.

Barrett stares furiously at Stephanie who doesn't bat an eyelid as she watches them all turn around and leave, Barrett last to do so. She turns her attention back to Tazz.

Stephanie McMahon:
Are you okay with ev'rything now?

Tazz: Yeah I think we've smoothed it all out.

Stephanie McMahon: Great. I admit that things maybe have got out of hand, not all down to me but I will step back from making any of your decisions I promise.

Tazz: Well thanks f' that Steph, I appreciate it.

Stephanie McMahon: You're welcome.

She walks over to the door, but Tazz follows her.

Tazz:
Allow me.

He opens the door, Steph steps through and turns back.

Stephanie McMahon:
Why thank you. I'll see you soon. Take care.

Tazz: You too.

The Executive Vice-President walks away and Tazz shuts the door, then heads over to the sofa and sits back down again, looking a tired soul.

The delighted new WWE Tag Team Champions, Paul London & Brian Kendrick are walking through the back, titles over their shoulders and enjoying their victory. They stop & admire their titles, taking them off their shoulders and looking right at them.

Brian Kendrick:
Look at that man, I can't believe it, we DID IT.

Paul London: We sure did.

All of a sudden, Paul Burchill, Harry Smith, TJ Wilson & Natalya Neidhart walk up behind them with Burchill grabbing London's shoulder. The new champions turn round looking surprised to see them.

Brian Kendrick:
Woah, what's up man?

Paul Burchill: Hey, calm down. We just want to say congratulations on your victory. Seeing you as the tag team champions is far better than seeing them with those titles.

Paul London: Well thanks I guess.

Paul Burchill: I would just like to say though that as happy as we are for you, and you do deserve it, it's just Harry and I still have a rematch for a championship match, and when he's able to compete we will be knocking on your door.

Brian Kendrick: Hey no problem, that's just how it works. We've got no problem with that.

Paul Burchill: Good, but for now, congratulations.

Harry Smith: Yeah well done guys, an' like he said, you deserve it.

TJ & Natalya nod as they then follow Burchill & Harry past the new champions who look & smile at each other again, still buzzing after the big win.

*The Main Event*
John Cena vs. Chris Jericho

Both Cena & Jericho have given it their all from the get-go, and they've both come close to the victory on a couple of occasions. It's Jericho now though in the driving seat, watching Cena struggle back up to his feet, eyes all over the shop. The Canadian runs behind him into the ropes, comes back and takes him down with a ONE ARM BULLDOG!. . . . . Cena's face hits the canvas and he stays on his front as the pumped-up Jericho stands up and hits the ropes again, jumping onto the second rope for a springboard. Jericho hits the springboard and comes down on Cena's back for the LIONSAULT!!!. . . . . Jericho wants to wrap it up, turning Cena over in a hurry and going for the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No! Cena kicks out and Jericho grudgingly takes it on the chin. He calmly returns to his feet and walks round to Cena's legs, lifts them off the mat and tries to turn him for the WALLS OF JERICHO!!!. . . . . A mixed reception comes from the crowd as Cena tries to fight it and he manages to fight Jericho off, forcing him back and down to the mat. The Canadian isn't happy as he picks himself back up with Cena doing the same. Jericho walks over and throws a right hand at him, but Cena ducks it and lifts Jericho off the mat to plant him with a SPIN-OUT POWER-BOMB!!. . . . .

The fans again are torn, cheering & booing as both Cena & Jericho make their way back up. Cena hits the ropes as Jericho unsuspectingly claws his way up, seeing Cena come charging at him for a FLYING SHOULDER BLOCK!!. . . . . Cena's feeling it now and looks down at Jericho to taunt him, signalling for the FIVE KNUCKLE SHUFFLE!!. . . . . Cena turns back and hits the ropes, but Jericho flips up and sweeps Cena's legs in a flash to turn him over this time and lock in the WALLS OF JERICHO!!!. . . . .

He's got it locked in and he gives it all he can, screaming at Cena to tap with the fans again split, making a hell of a noise in the arena. Cena holds on firmly, looking in agony as he reaches out with desperation, looking at the ropes. Jericho keeps on yelling at him to give it up. Unsurprisingly he doesn't and Cena fights it, dragging himself towards the ropes little by little. Jericho's uneasy and turns his head round, seeing how close Cena's getting. He panics and stands up, then tries to drag him back towards the centre of the ring, but Cena counters, turning over and kicking up at Jericho to send him falling back into the mat.

It's met by another mixed reaction, and both men pick themselves up as quickly as they can with Jericho up first. He stares furiously at Cena and runs right at him with Cena ducking underneath and lifting Jericho up for the F-U!!!. . . . . It's deafening, but Jericho fights back, slipping down Cena's back to hit a FULL NELSON LEG SWEEP FACE-BUSTER!!. . . . . He again turns Cena over and makes the cover, hooking the leg with desperation as the ref makes the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

NO! Cena gets the shoulder up and Jericho can't believe it. He leans back on his knees and gives the ref a hard time, telling him it must've been three. The ref has no sympathy and tells him it was only two, and Jericho has no choice but to accept it as Cena sits up. Jericho watches him every step of the way with a face like fury, getting ready to explode. He gets itchy feet and begs Cena to get up, and as Cena makes it up, Jericho's on him in a flash, going for the CODE-BREAKER!!!. . . . .

Cena pulls back and Jericho hits the deck to a big pop with some boos, and Cena shows off his quick reactions by turning him over in a flash, crosses his legs to apply the STFU!!!. . . . . Again the fans create a hell of a racket as Cena this time puts Jericho through hell, and the Canadian is struggling. He knows he's in trouble and holds on for dear life with Cena tearing away at his face, hell bent on making him tap. Jericho to his credit holds firm, right arm raised off the canvas with the ref asking him if he wants to tap. He doesn't, but Cena doesn't let up and Jericho can't escape with the fans on their feet.

Jericho begins to fade with Cena relentless, and despite a brave effort, Jericho relents and taps out to give Cena the win. "My Time is Now" blasts out to another huge roar as well as some boos with the ref raising Cena's arm in victory. He looks like he's been in a real fight and he heads to the ropes, saluting his fans before throwing his arms up in the air with Jericho sitting up looking so disappointed behind him. Cena heads over to the opposite side of the ring and celebrates in front of his fans as this week's Smackdown comes to a close.

Winner: John Cena by submission.

Michael Cole:
John Cena gets the win an' scores an impressive victory heading into his no holds barred match for the world title at the Royal Rumble. We're just over a week away now people, an' next week promises t' be even more unpredictable than t'night. Make sure you tune in next Friday night, but f' now, thanks f' joining us an' good night.

Smackdown Review

I definitely loved Smackdown and just 9 more nights until your Royal Rumble pay per view, definitely can't wait until you post up RAW and what I think I loved most about Smackdown, what I loved was Punk showing flashes of his Best In The World anti-hero character by speaking his mind and standing up to Stephanie and even Cena threatening to walk out on Stephanie but the main event of Cena/Jericho I loved it

Breaking News: WWE Tag Team Titles Change Hands!

Moments ago on Smackdown we saw Paul London & Brian Kendrick defeat The Empire, Wade Barrett & Drew McIntyre to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.

The resurgent duo earned their title match last week after beating Paul Burchill & TJ Wilson, and those two men helped out the new champions when The Empire tried to pull out the same underhand plan that saw them win the titles at Night of Champions from Burchill & Wilson. William Regal once again passed Barrett some brass knuckles, but this time the referee saw Barrett with them. As he fought to get them off Barrett, Burchill & Wilson along with Harry Smith & Natalya Neidhart made their way to the ring to try & make sure London & Kendrick didn't fall victims to the same cheap tactic they did last month. The distraction was enough for London & Kendrick to win the match and the titles to become WWE Tag Team Champions for a second time. It was announced moments later by Tazz that they will defend the titles against The Empire next weekend at the Royal Rumble.

>New Tag Champions, Rematch Set for the Rumble!<

Last night we saw The Empire defend the WWE tag team titles they won at Night of Champions for the first time, going up against the resurgent team of Paul London & Brian Kendrick, and it turned out it might be their only defence as London & Kendrick continued their incredible reunion by becoming the winning the titles for a second time.

It looked like it was going to go the other way when William Regal once again slid some brass knuckles into the ring to Wade Barrett, only unlike Night of Champions, he was caught in the act. The men they beat that night, Paul Burchill & TJ Wilson weren't about to sit back and let the same fate that befell them happen to London & Kendrick. Along with Harry Smith & Natalya Neidhart, they made their way to ringside, distracting all four members of The Empire, allowing London & Kendrick the chance to take advantage and end a very brief title reign that Barrett & Drew McIntyre will look to forget. They will however have the chance to get their titles back next weekend at the Royal Rumble after going straight to Tazz and vowing to use their rematch clause to take the gold back from the new champions.

Tazz subsequently made the rematch for next Sunday's highly anticipated pay-per-view and barred not just Regal & Katie Lee from ringside but everyone on the roster. With a level playing field in place will the Brits be able to make London & Kendrick's second reign shorter than their own? Judging by their last reign as Smackdown's tag team champions, it'll be anything but easy as they held the titles for nearly an entire year. It really is going to be a tough match for both teams, but with no outside influence assured, at least it'll be a fair fight this time.

>Brothers to Collide Head On Next Week!<

Ever since Christian returned to Smackdown last year, he & his brother, Edge have been at each other's throats. A few weeks ago after being put on the shelf by The Rated-R Superstar, Christian returned and has been looking for payback ever since. He'll have the chance to get it next Friday night after they again crossed swords last night, resulting in Tazz making the match that will see the two of them go at it just two days before they compete in the Royal Rumble to become the WWE Champion.

They've both set their sights on getting their hands on the WWE title, but which of them will gain some serious momentum by being victorious live on Smackdown next Friday?

Monday Night Raw – Preview!
Monday 12th January 2009
Live from the Sprint Center
Kansas City, Missouri

We're now just a week away from the 20th annual Royal Rumble live on pay-per-view that will see the WWE Championship defended in the Rumble match for the first time in its 21 year history. Only on one other occasion has the title been decided in the 30 man every man for himself battle royal, but this time Triple H has the job of overcoming insurmountable odds by not just retaining his title but doing it from number one. It's been one thing after another for the WWE Champion in recent weeks, from finding out three weeks ago he'd be defending the title in the Rumble to a week later being told he'd be the number one entry in the match.

Then last week he got another shock, and so did everyone else when the man he put on the shelf at the Survivor Series, Randy Orton returned to Raw to a surprisingly positive reception from the fans in attendance. He calmly but menacingly made his way down to the ring before hitting The Game with an RKO to a deafening reaction from the fans. It came as a shock to everyone, and it's not yet known if The Viper will be on Raw this week from his home state of Missouri or more importantly if he'll be in the Royal Rumble Sunday night. The odds are we'll find out this week in Kansas City. Will Orton be there in his home state? If so will there be a response from The Game, and in just what kind of a mind frame will he be in as he prepares for the toughest challenge of his career at the Royal Rumble?

Also making a return to Raw last week was Ted DiBiase, and he was intent on getting a place in the Rumble too. He seemed to think he would just be handed a place in the match, but no. Eric Bischoff was quick to put him in his place on his return from suspension, and with DiBiase blaming their past history for not wanting to gift him a spot in the Rumble, Bischoff threw him a bone. He gave DiBiase the chance to earn his way in by giving him a match against The Undertaker, the man Ted was supposed to face a couple of times which he no showed for, leading to his suspension.

DiBiase rose to the challenge and went toe-to-toe with The Undertaker, and thanks to a distraction from a man the phenom has had his issues with as of late in the Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus, Ted won the match by count out to win a place in the Royal Rumble and gain the chance to become the WWE Champion. Will the cocky young pretender get his wish this Sunday? First he has to go to Kansas City, if does show up that is, and will Sheamus dare play with fire again in the build up to the Rumble match he & Taker will both be in?

Chris Jericho's been a busy body since returning last month and choosing to move to Raw, however he again showed his face on Smackdown last Friday night, as well as opening his big mouth. He managed to talk himself into a match with John Cena, and that was after being hit by a sledgehammer last Monday night by his own tag team partner, Triple H. The self proclaimed Best in the World has been talking up his chances of winning the Rumble, but will he be able to back up his words this week before he heads to the Rumble?

Also on the end of a sledgehammer shot last week was The Big Show where he teamed up with Smackdown's Shawn Michaels to take on Jericho & Triple H. Michaels avoided the sledgehammer and with Smackdown superstars entered in the Rumble match, will some of them show their faces on Raw this week like The Heartbreak Kid did last week? Anything is possible with the stakes so high going into the most eagerly anticipated Royal Rumble of all time.

It's sure to be a one hell of a show with the Rumble just a matter of days away and so much at stake. Whatever you do you can't afford to miss Raw this week, live from Kansas City, Missouri. Make sure you don't as you will be sure to regret it!

>Breaking News!<

>Tonight's Raw Extended for 15 Minutes!<

We've just been told by Raw's Head of Authority that he has secured a 15 minute extension with the USA Network for tonight's episode of Raw, the last before this Sunday's Royal Rumble pay-per-view. We can also tell you that Bischoff has advised us he has something special in store for the main event tonight and he will start the show by announcing just what that will be.

In what was always going to be a must watch show, you really can't afford to miss an extended edition of Raw, live tonight from Kansas City, Missouri just six nights away from the most anticipated Royal Rumble in history.

*Video Recap*
From Last Week!

A very angry looking WWE Champion, Triple H is shown in his locker room, taping up his wrists for the main event later on against The Big Show & Shawn Michaels, and in walks his tag team partner for the night, Chris Jericho. The Raw returnee is still in his suit as he calmly approaches The Game, but the WWE Champion takes no notice of him.

Chris Jericho:
Look I know you're not happy about having to defend the WWE Championship in the Royal Rumble and I'm not here to patronise you Hun'er. I've already told the world how I intend to be the one who leaves the Royal Rumble with your title. I want that title as much as you want to keep it. The fact is only one person will walk out of the Royal Rumble as the WWE Champion and I'm going to do ev'rything in my power t' make sure that person is me. It might be ev'ry man for himself at the Rumble but not t'night. You don't need me to remind you of what happened in your match last week with Big Show. T'night we need t' work t'gether. . .

The WWE Champion turns round and stares furiously at Jericho, taking him by surprise and leaving him speechless.

Triple H:
No one tells me what I need t' do, and no one needs to remind me about the Royal Rumble or what happened last week. What you need t' know is, as far as I'm concerned it's already ev'ry man f' himself. I don't trust anyone including you. If I have t' defend my title in the Royal Rumble then that's what I'll do. It doesn't matter if it's Raw superstars, Smackdown superstars, I'll eliminate them all, including you t' make sure I'm the last man standing and still WWE Champion, now get the hell out of my face before I toss you through that door like I'll toss you an' anyone who gets in my path out of the Rumble.

The Game means it and makes sure Jericho knows it, staring right at him.

Chris Jericho:
I'll leave, but remember what I said champ, I will win the Royal Rumble an' take that title of yours. There might be 29 superstars for you to worry about but there's only you should be worried about. . . me, because I will the new WWE Champion.

Jericho & Tripe H stare intently each other but Jericho turns his head first and leaves the locker room with The Game angrily going back to taping his wrists, breathing heavily as he tries to keep his cool.

***

The Big Show & Shawn Michaels
vs. Triple H & Chris Jericho

The Big Show kicks out to a pop from the capacity crowd. The Game doesn't look happy but grudgingly stands back up by the ropes with Jericho this time leaning over them to tag himself in the match by slapping Trips on the back. The Game glares furiously at Jericho as he enters the ring, getting an unsympathetic reaction from Jericho. He has no choice but to leave the ring as Jericho urges Show to get up, and as he does, Jericho goes for the CODE-BREAKER!!!. . . . . Show pulls back and Jericho hits the deck to a big pop. Show watches him all the way back up and grabs him by the throat to plant him with a CHOKE-SLAM!!!. . . . . Jericho's flat on his back and out for the count as Show drops to his knees to make the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

Triple H storms the ring and breaks it up with a stomp to the back of the head. Michaels is furious, as are the fans, and The Heartbreak Kid flies through the ropes and runs across the mat to clothesline The Game over the top rope, and the momentum takes him with the WWE Champion. Show & Jericho are both down as Michaels & Triple H try and make it back up to their feet on the outside, and Michaels gets there first and helps The Game up, but the WWE Champion reacts in a flash to send Michaels crashing into the steel steps.

Boos come from the stands, and back on the inside Show & Jericho claw their way back up as The Game drops to his knees and leans against the apron. He stops and a light goes off above his head, and he reaches under the ring, pulling out a sledgehammer to a ton of heat. He stands up and lifts his trusty ally up, looking at it with a sadistic look on his face. He slips back in the ring with Show & Jericho clueless, but the ref sees him and The Game just shoves him aside to run at Show, NAILING HIM IN THE SKULL WITH THE SLEDGEHAMMER!!!. . . . .

The ref calls for the bell, disqualifying Trips & Jericho, and the Canadian stands up looking shocked to see Show knocked out. The Game turns round and stares right at his partner, worrying Jericho. He has every right to be as the WWE Champion paces across and DRIVES THE SLEGDEHAMMER INTO JERICHO'S FACE!!!. . . . . A barrage of boos are thrown at The Game as he stands amongst the wreckage, then glares over at the referee, and the ref looks like he's about to make a mess in his pants. Triple H walks menacingly towards him with the ref really panicking.

"I hear voices in my head. . ."

The crowd erupts and rise to their feet as Randy Orton, for the first time in almost two months walks out to the stage. The Game turns round, shocked to see a seething Orton standing there glaring down at him with a face like thunder. He slowly heads down the ramp, eyes fixed solely on the stunned WWE Champion as he watches the man he put out on the shelf at Survivor Series on his way for revenge. The Game gets ready to take his head off as Orton calmly steps through the ropes and continues staring at Triple H.

They then charge at each other, TRIPLE H SWINGING THE SLEDGEHAMMER AT HIM, BUT ORTON DUCKS AND HITS THE RKO ON THE GAME!!!. . . . . It's absolutely deafening as Triple H hits the mat, sledgehammer falling alongside him. Orton stays on his knees but shimmies round, sticking his head right next to The Game's staring at him as he lies there out cold on the canvas. "Voices" hits again with the fans still cheering, and Michaels sits up on the outside, groggy and looking on shocked too with Orton still glaring intensely at the fallen WWE Champion as the show comes to a close.

Jim Ross: Good evening an' welcome to Monday Night Raw, live t'night from the Sprint Center in Kansas City Missouri. We're just six nights away from the 20th anniversary of the Royal Rumble live on pay-per-view, where for the first time in history, the WWE Championship will be defended in the Royal Rumble match.

The Head of Authority, Eric Bischoff is shown standing in the ring with a microphone in hand, waiting to address the audience looking very pleased with himself.

Jim Ross:
Right now, our Head of Authority Eric Bischoff has some kind of big announcement he would like to make.

Eric Bischoff: As I'm sure you know, in just six nights Triple H will become the first man in the history of the Royal Rumble to defend the WWE Championship against 29 other men in the 30 man over the top rope battle royal.

*Big Pop*

Eric Bischoff: You have ev'ry right to be excited, but you also have reason to be excited t'night. Now some of you might have already heard, some of you may not, but earlier on t'day I spoke with the executives of the USA network and they agreed to extend t'night's show by 15 minutes.

*Pop*

Eric Bischoff: Now what that means is later on this evening we're going t' have a very special main event. With the Royal Rumble just a matter of days away, we already have our number one entrant in Triple H. We don't however at this time know who'll be the last man to enter as number 30. Well we will after the main event t'night when a number of superstars from Raw only compete in a gauntlet match where the last man standing will win that coveted number 30 spot f' this Sunday.

*More Cheers*

Eric Bischoff: Those superstars who'll you'll see compete in that gauntlet match include The Big Show. . .

*Pop*

Eric Bischoff: . . . The Undertaker. . .

*Big Pop*

Eric Bischoff: . . . Chris Jericho. . .

?: Excuse me.

A chorus of boos break out as The Epitome of Excellence (Christopher Daniels & Kaval) walk out to the stage in their ring gear. Daniels is holding a microphone and they give the fans booing them a dirty look, now give Bischoff the same filthy look, and he too is unimpressed at their interrupting him.

Christopher Daniels:
Please f'give me for the interruption Mister Bischoff but quite frankly Kaval an' myself don't hold any int'rest in the Royal Rumble match. What we do have a strong int'rest in however is the tag team title match that pardon my forwardness, I think you know we deserve regardless of our previous discussion.

Bischoff chuckles ever so slightly in the ring.

Christopher Daniels:
You might've thought this might just go away but it's not, and it won't until we're given the title shot ev'ryone knows we should've got right after we were robbed yet again of the titles at Night of Champions. All these people have seen the miscarriage of justice we've faced on more than one occasion, and I think it's only fair t' tell you that we feel so strongly about this injustice that if we don't receive the rematch we should be given we will be left with no choice but to leave Raw.

*Pop*

Christopher Daniels: Need I remind you of just what you'd be losing. We are unquestionably the most talented tag team in the world today, and we are officially undefeated. . .

Eric Bischoff: . . . Alright I've heard enough, I get what you're saying. I admit that there have been some questionable incidents as far as your involvement with the tag team titles go, and I do mean questionable. What happened at Night of Champions gentleman, you don't me t' tell you that you were the ones that brought the title belt into the ring. It was unfortunate, an' like I said a couple of weeks ago, when you fought for the tag team titles at Survivor Series you weren't victorious. Technically you might not've lost that night but you didn't win either, an' I'm sure you don't need me t' tell you that issuing me with threats or ultimatums isn't exactly the best way t' get what you want.

Christopher Daniels: Well Eric you've left us with no choi. . .

Eric Bischoff: . . . Let me finish. . . What I was going t' say was, given that there have been some questionable incidents and how I'm in such a good mood with the Royal Rumble coming up this Sunday, I will allow you a rematch for the tag team titles.

*Mixed*

Eric Bischoff: That rematch will take place right here live on Raw next week, and to make sure there's no doubt as to who leaves the champions, there will be no count outs or disqualifications.

*Pop*

Eric Bischoff: If it wasn't for the fact that Rey an' Mystico are in the Rumble this weekend you'd be facing them then, but since I have a few open spots left, I'm going t' give you the chance t' join the champions in the Rumble an' t' fight for the WWE Championship. You'll also get the chance to warm up for your title match next week by competing in a qualifying match next. Good luck.

"I'm Back" plays and The Epitome of Excellence seem pretty happy as they look down at Bischoff and head down to the ring.

*Commercial Break*

*The Opening Match*
Royal Rumble Qualifying Match
Team Omega w/Shannon Moore
vs. The Epitome of Excellence

Daniels & Kaval sure meant business in this one and started quickly, but with the crowd behind Hardy & Helms from the start, they came back fighting. Matt came close after the Side Effect and a diving leg drop, but Kaval managed to kick out at two. A distraction from Daniels stopped Kaval falling victim to the Twist of Fate. Hardy knocked Daniels down with a right hand but found himself on the end of the The Tidal Wave, a springboard roundhouse kick. Matt kicks out but Daniels wants the tag as he stands back up on the apron. He gets it and charges across the ring to knock Helms off the apron, and as Matt claws his way back up, the focused looking Daniels goes right after him and turns him round into a side slam backbreaker.

He drags Matt closer to the corner and hits the top rope, shouting out "Best moonsault ever", and hits it, going for the cover, but Helms slides back in to break it up at two with a light stamp to the back of Daniels' head. Kaval races through the ropes and charges at him, knocking him down with a clothesline. Helms picks himself up by the ropes with the furious Kaval ready to explode, and he does, charging at him and clotheslining them both over the top and down to the floor. Hardy & Daniels make their way back up with Hardy blocking a right hand and firing Daniels into the corner. He runs in at him and hits a clothesline.

The fans cheer as he holds on for a bulldog, running out, but Daniels pulls back and shoves Matt forward. He turns round in a flash and runs into a kick to the gut and a reverse STO. Daniels though holds on to lock in the Koji Clutch, putting Matt through the mill as he tries to hold on with the fans willing him to do so, but Daniels doesn't relent and he gives Matt nowhere to go and no choice but to tap out. Kaval slips back in the ring and congratulates his partner on getting the victory for them, getting their arms raised by the referee and looking very ready for their title match next week.

Winners: The Epitome of Excellence by submission.

Jim Ross: Well they might have a shot at the tag team titles next week but first, Daniels an' Kaval will be going t' the Royal Rumble Sunday night.

Jerry Lawler: I don't think they care too much about that, even though they should with the WWE title up f' grabs, but next week they'll get what they've been asking for f' weeks when they meet the tag team champions one more time.

Jim Ross: An' that'll be quite the match King. Like they said before, they are technically unbeaten. With no disqualifications or counts out either it should be a very int'resting match indeed when they take on Rey Mysterio an' Mystico.

The World Tag Team Champions, Rey Mysterio & Mystico are watching backstage and Leticia Cline approaches them holding a microphone.

Leticia Cline:
Excuse me, Rey, Mystico, may I get a quick word with you?

Rey & Mystico turn round, caught slightly off guard.

Rey Mysterio:
Hey Leticia, sure, go 'head.

Leticia Cline: Well we heard Eric Bischoff earlier make a rematch from Night of Champions for next week between you an' The Epitome of Excellence f' next week in a no disqualification no count out match. What are your thoughts about that?

Rey Mysterio: The way we see it we won these titles fair an' square but I've gotta admit there's been a few little things go against those guys. I get why they've been given another shot, but that don't change the fact we won these titles fair an' square. We're the World Tag Team Champions an' we plan on keepin' it that way next week. We know it's gonna be tough. We've been in the ring with those guys a couple o'times an' we know how good they are. It won't be easy but come next week we'll still be holdin' these titles.

Leticia Cline: Well thanks f' y'time Rey an' good luck next week, oh an' Sunday.

Rey Mysterio: Thanks 'ticia.

The champions walk out of the shot, very relaxed with next week's title defence in mind.

JTG & Homicide are shown on a split screen, both headed for the ring and dressed for action.

Jim Ross:
It's time for a quick commercial break, but when we come back, JTG an' Homicide, the former mentor an' rookie combination who've had their fair share of problems will go one-on-one live here on Monday Night Raw.

*Commercial Break*

*Match #2*
JTG vs. Homicide

The former rookie & mentor were both fired-up for this one, JTG surprisingly so and his start riled up Homicide. The frustration looked like getting the better of him, getting a couple of warnings from the referee to tone down the aggression. He finds himself in trouble now with JTG on top, momentum well on his side having dodged a Frog Splash and coming close with a running front flip neckbreaker, but Homicide just managed to get his foot on the rope. JTG's desperate to put the match to bed and urges him to get back up, and he does by the ropes, slowly. Homicide turns round and into a sit-out jawbreaker. JTG goes for the cover and Homicide again denies him the win by getting his shoulder up.

JTG can't believe it but takes it on the chin as he heads up top. Homicide claws his way back in a spin as the crowd watch in anticipation with JTG watching him turn to face him, and off he leaps for a missile dropkick. Homicide sidesteps it though and watches JTG making his way back up to his knees. He watches him intently and backs up into the ropes, and as JTG stands up, Homicide nails his former mentor with the West Brooklyn Lariat. He turned JTG inside out and wastes no time in pulling him right back up in a flash to drill him with the Gringo Killa, a back-to-back double underhook piledriver. JTG's not moving and Homicide coolly goes for the cover, knowing he has it in the bag, and he has as the referee counts to three.

The victor stands back up with another victory under his belt, staring coldly into the crowd while getting his arm raised by the referee. He takes his leave and heads back up the ramp and through the curtain as JTG comes round. "Metalingus" hits out of nowhere and The Rated-R Superstar' Edge stomps his way down the ramp in his casual gear, sliding in the ring as JTG picks himself back up, totally oblivious. The fans boo as the music cuts and Edge charges at him, taking him down with a hellacious spear. He stands back up to a ton of heat and goes right after a microphone, and he gets one from Lilian Garcia and walks into the centre of the ring.

Winner: Homicide by pinfall.

Edge: Now I know there's some kind of gauntlet match t'night f' Raw superstars but I don't care. It doesn't make any diff'rence t' me. I don't need t' be number 30 t' win the Royal Rumble, which I guarantee I will.

*Heat*

Edge: Yeah, not only am I gonna win the Rumble, first I'm gonna beat my deluded little brother Christian Friday night, then this time next week I'll be standing in this ring before you as the new WWE Champion.

"Metalingus" plays and Edge drops the microphone, staring into the stands, letting them know he means every word he says.

Jim Ross:
We all know how difficult it is t' win the Royal Rumble but Edge, The Ultimate Opportunist might well have what it takes t' do just that.

Jerry Lawler: I wouldn't right Edge off either, but the same goes for a lot of superstars JR. There's a whole lot of people who can walk out of the Rumble as WWE Champion.

Jim Ross: That's the beauty of it King. It's the most unpredictable match in the calendar, this year especially with the WWE Championship on the line.

*Commercial Break*

Eric Bischoff
stands up off the sofa in his office, just as the WWE Champion, Triple H barges into the room, and he doesn't look happy at all, walking right up to Bischoff and staring right at him.

Eric Bischoff:
Are you gonna tell me what you want or do I have t' guess?

The Game, cutting an intense figure just stares at Bischoff.

Triple H:
I don't know what your problem with me is, if it wasn't enough making me defend the WWE title in the Rumble, you go an' make me the number one entrant. You know as well as I do you crossed the line an' I'm not going t' let you get away with it. I came here t' let you know I'm going t' the board of directors unless you change your mind. . . You've got one last chance. . .

Eric Bischoff: . . . Hun'er I think we both know you're bluffing, an' even if you're not I think we know what they'd say. In fact I've not had anyone from the board come back t' me with any objections whatsoever. All I've had is people congratulating me on getting ev'ryone talking about the Royal Rumble. I admit maybe making you the first entrant was a tad harsh given the circumstances, but at the end of the day you crossed the line an' put your hands on me. Like I've said before though, I don't have a problem you. It's just business. . . This gauntlet match t'night though, I have an idea that'll prove this isn't personal. I'm gonna give you the chance t' lose the number one spot, only you'll have t' beat the gauntlet. It's either number one or number 30. It's up t' you which.

The King of Kings continues staring at Bischoff, realising he has no choice.

Triple H:
Fine I accept, but there's another reason I came here. . . Randy Orton. . . Last week he walked down t' the ring after my match and gave me an RKO. What I wanna know is if you knew about it an' if he's here t'night.

Eric Bischoff: Look, I swear I didn't know he was there, an' if you haven't noticed, me an' Randy haven't exactly got along in the past. I think ev'ryone's aware of that. As f' t'night, I don't think he's here. It is Missouri, not quite St. Louis but I guess there's a chance he may plan on showing up.

Triple H: Well if he does an' he comes after me like he did last week, I'll deal with him. Only this time I'll make sure he doesn't come back.

The Game means it and gives Bischoff the eyes, now turns round and leaves the office. There's some commotion outside that gets Bischoff's attention and he heads outside to see Carlito & Eddie Colon arguing with Cody Rhodes & Joe Hennig. Bischoff isn't happy about it and walks up to them, and they don't realise he's there.

Eric Bischoff:
Alright that's enough. What the hell's goin' on here?

Carlito: Go on Cody, tell 'im.

Cody Rhodes: I've already told you to shut your mouth.

Carlito: Hey no problem, I'll tell 'im. Basically boss, me an' Eddie were tellin' 'em what a good job they did last week an' how we can't wait t' see 'em in the Royal Rumble.

Cody Rhodes: If you don't shut that mouth I'll shut it for you.

Eric Bischoff: No you won't, not out here anyway. As it happens there are two spots left in the Rumble match, an' what better way t' sort this out by you guys facing each other with the winners going to the Royal Rumble match. Now I know Cody you guys had a chance last week but this is a second chance an' your last chance. You guys all okay with this?

Cody Rhodes: Absolutely.

Carlito: Yeah, dat's cool. We'll see you an' y'boyfriend later Cody.

Carlito & Eddie laugh as they walk past the angry Cody & Hennig with Bischoff trying not to laugh, and Cody sees him, not entirely appreciative of it.

Eric Bischoff:
What?!

We cut to the arena.

"Sexy Boy"

The crowd goes wild as Shawn Michaels struts out to the stage, followed by Bryan Danielson, both in a very relaxed demeanour tonight as the Smackdown duo stroll down the ramp all smiles, slapping hands with the fans before entering the ring. The Heartbreak Kid picks a microphone up off the apron and steps through the ropes, holding them down for his protégé. They walk into centre stage and look into the crowd, soaking up the ovation as Michaels' music cuts, bringing out chants of "HBK".

Shawn Michaels:
It's always great t' come back t' Raw an' t'night's no diff'rent. Sunday however is going t' be very diff'rent, an' that's what brings us here t'night. F' the first time in hist'ry, the WWE Championship will be defended in the Royal Rumble.

*Pop*

Shawn Michaels: It's got ev'ryone excited, us included. It's a special night f' ev'ryone taking part, however it won't be the first Royal Rumble I've been in where the WWE title's been up f' grabs. That's happened only once before, 17 long years ago, but as I stand here right now I can honestly say that this is the biggest Royal Rumble of all time.

*More Cheers*

Shawn Michaels: Like I said, that was 17 years ago which means I've been here a long time an' been in my fair share of Rumble matches, an' I've even won a couple. This man here on the other hand, this is gonna be his first of many I'm sure. Bryan's a guy I trained a long time ago when I thought my career was over, an' seeing him here now makes me so proud. He always had that something special, an' if I'm not gonna be the one who walks out WWE Champion then I hope he does instead.

Some of the fans cheer as Danielson smiles at Michaels and quietly thanks him.

Shawn Michaels:
There is of course one other superstar I go a long way back with who'll be in the Rumble this Sunday, an' he goes by the name Triple H.

*Major Heat*

Shawn Michaels: Nowadays we might not get along like we have before, an' I sure as hell don't envy him having t' defend the WWE title in the Rumble, or as the number one entrant. From what I've seen he doesn't seem too happy about it but it's not like it can't be done. It was a long time ago I won my first Royal Rumble but I'm here t' let the whole world know that even though I'm not getting any younger, I've still got what it takes t' get the job done an' win the Rumble one more time.

*Big Pop*

Shawn Michaels: The fire still burns inside, as it does f' this man standing next to me, right Bry'?

Danielson smiles again and accepts the microphone from Michaels.

Bryan Danielson:
Well thanks f' all that Shawn. It might be my first Royal Rumble, an' like Shawn said I think ev'ryone's excited. I certainly am an. . .

"It's a shame that they lost their heads. . ."

A ton of boos are thrown from the stands at the Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus as he walks out to the stage. Wearing his trunks and a T-shirt with the Intercontinental title around his waist, he looks down shaking his head at Michaels & Danielson. He sets off down the ring, shaking his head at the fans in the front row too, and as he gets in the ring he walks past Michaels & Danielson, still relaxed and not bothered it would seem by Sheamus's interruption. He gets a microphone and turns round, walking over to them with his music stopping.

Sheamus:
You guys are right, ev'ryone is excited about de Royal Rumble Sunday but dat doesn't give you or any other Smackdown superstars de right t' waltz on over here takin' up my time.

*More Heat*

Sheamus: You were also right about one other t'ing, it was a long long time ago you won de Rumble, so much so I f'got you even won it which is funny, 'cause you can f'get about winnin' it dis year too, an' so can y'little buddy.

*More Boos*

Sheamus: Dare's only one person who's gonna win de Rumble an' dat's me once I win de gauntlet match later on t'night. When dat number 30 spot's mine, de Rumble's in de bag, den I'll become both de Intercontinental an' WWE Champion.

*Chorus of Boos*

Sheamus: When dat happens fella, I'll have more than just one title dan you old man.

The fans boo again as Sheamus smirks smugly at Michaels, but he & Danielson don't seem too bothered by the Irishman's statement with Michaels asking for the microphone back from Danielson, and he gets it.

Shawn Michaels:
Y'know, I like confidence, but fella if you think that's all gonna happen you're settin' y'self up f' one hell of a fall.

Sheamus: Yeah we'll see about dat.

Shawn Michaels: Yeah I guess we will. F' now I think it's best if we all shake hands an' wait 'til Sunday t' see what happens, but all the same I wish you good luck.

Michaels drops the microphone and nods at Sheamus before turning round with Danielson following.

Sheamus:
Oy Michaels, wait right dare.

Michaels & Danielson turn round.

Sheamus:
You're just gonna walk away from me are ya? De only one settin' demself up f' a fall fella is you. See unlike you I'm not past it, an' I sure don't need luck.

The Celtic Warrior lifts up his Intercontinental title to a ton of heat from the Kansas City fans.

Sheamus:
Sunday it won't just be dis title I'll be holdin' Shawn, it'll be de WWE title too.

Michaels smirks with Sheamus standing there confidently and the fans booing. The Heartbreak Kid turns to Danielson and turns back to take Sheamus's head off with some sweet chin music. The crowd erupts as Sheamus hits the mat with his title falling with him. "Sexy Boy" hits again and Danielson & Michaels smile at each other before leaving the ring, heading back up the ramp, again slapping hands with the fans.

Jerry Lawler:
I think Sheamus might've learned t'night sometimes it's best to keep your mouth shut JR.

Jim Ross: My sentiments exactly. What it shows though King is that there are so many superstars from both Raw an' Smackdown who can't wait f' the huge Royal Rumble match this Sunday.

Jerry Lawler: They're not alone JR. I can't wait it either. The WWE title on the line. . . it's going t' be amazing.

*Match #3*
Royal Rumble Qualifying Match
The Colon Brothers
vs. Cody Rhodes & Joe Hennig

Both teams were out to get one over the other from the get go, Cody especially. He & Hennig have been isolating Eddie, and Cody's hell bent on putting him away. Eddie tries to pick himself back up with Cody ready to pounce, eyes locked on him. He gets itchy feet and helps him up, lifting him up off his feet and slamming him into the canvas with the Alabama Slam. He makes his way into the corner and climbs up to the top rope, turning his back on the ring. The crowd look on as the focused Cody leaps off the top for a moonsault, but Eddie brings his knees up into Rhodes' gut to a big pop from the fans.

Carlito & Hennig look on as their partners crawl across the mat towards them, both men encouraging them to get to them for the tags. They both make them and Carlito & Hennig fly through the ropes with the Puerto Rican ducking a wild clothesline and running the ropes for a springboard back elbow. The fans cheer and both men make their way back up, Carlito running at Hennig and nailing him with a knee lift to the side of the head. He runs through into the ropes and takes him down with a clothesline. The momentum switches to the Colon brothers and Carlito watches Hennig back up and turn into his path, right into a hurricanrana. Carlito's on top and he stalks Hennig for the Backstabber, but Cody sees the danger and storms the ring.

Carlito sees him coming though and tosses him over the top rope to another big pop. As he turns round though, Hennig's back on his feet and gunning for him, running right at him. Carlito steps out of the ropes though and ducks under the outstretched arm, turning in a flash to hit the Backstabber to a big roar. Carlito shifts round in a hurry, hooking both legs for the cover, and the ref counts to three to give the Puerto Rican siblings the victory and the last two places in the Royal Rumble. "Cool" hits and Eddie joins his brother in the ring, hugging him as Cody sits up on the floor watching in disgust, banging his hands into the floor as the Colons celebrate their win, both looking down and laughing at the furious Cody.

Winners: The Colon Brothers by pinfall.

Jim Ross: Well it looks like a bad couple of weeks f' Cody Rhodes King. Twice he an' Joe Hennig have missed out on spots in the Royal Rumble. T'night it's the Colon brothers that get one over on them an' I think they're as happy about that as they are being in the Rumble.

Jerry Lawler: If I were in their shoes I'd be enjoying getting one over Cody too.

Leticia Cline is standing by backstage at the interview set.

Leticia Cline:
Ladies an' gentleman please welcome my guest at this time, 'The World's Largest Athlete' The Big Show.

The camera zooms out and we see The Big Show, looking very calm indeed standing there alongside Leticia.

Leticia Cline:
Big Show, we're just six nights away from the Royal Rumble that absolutely ev'ryone's talking about. Some people have said that being the world's largest athlete gives you a big chance of winning the Rumble. How do you feel about that?

The Big Show: Yeah well it's not the first time someone's said that going into the Rumble. My size might be an advantage Leticia but it's always made me a target. This year though with the WWE Championship going t' the winner, I'm not going t' let that happen this time. I'm going t' use my size to its full advantage. They can all target me as much as they want, my target is t' become the new WWE Champion, an' when the Rumble's over an' done with, that's what I'll be.

Leticia Cline: Well later on t'night Show there will be a gauntlet match to determine who will be number 30 in the Royal Rumble which I understand you'll be part of. How much would winning that t'night help you in your target of winning the WWE title this Sunday?

The Big Show: Obviously it'll help but how many people have won from number 30? I think there's been more winners from being number one. Sure I'm going out there t'night to try an' get that spot, then Sunday I'll do the same if I'm number 30 or not t' make sure that it's me who leaves the Royal Rumble as the new WWE Champion.

Leticia Cline: Well thanks Big Show an' good luck t'night.

The Big Show: Thanks Leticia.

The Big Show smiles at Leticia and walks out of the shot.

A calm looking Ted DiBiase, in his ring gear is shown making his way through the back along with his girlfriend, Maryse.

Jim Ross:
That man right there who booked his place in the Royal Rumble last week, Ted DiBiase will be in action when we come back in just a few minutes.

*Commercial Break*

*Video Promo*

"Priceless"

Ted DiBiase
walks out to the stage with the gorgeous Maryse to a chorus of boos from the Kansas City crowd. He shrugs them off without a care in the world as he makes his way down to the ring, sitting on the second rope to let Maryse inside. Ted follows and Maryse walks up to Lilian, taking the microphone off her and passing it to Ted as his music is cut by the guys in the truck.

Ted DiBiase:
You don't need me to tell you what practically ev'rybody else has been saying all night, but what I have t' say, there's just one slight diff'rence. You've heard several people come out here claiming they're going t' win the Royal Rumble this Sunday, however as you know, only one person can win it. That one person, you're looking at him.

*Ton of Heat*

Ted DiBiase: That's right. Yours truly will be the next WWE Champion. I might not be the official breakout star of 2008 but this will be my year, an' starting Sunday night I'll prove ev'ryone wrong when I become WWE CHAMPION.

*More Heat*

"Gold Lust"

A decent pop meets Goldust as he walks out into the arena with Eugene following and waving to the fans as DiBiase & Maryse look on, not at all worried with Goldust, who has Ted in his sights.

*Match #4*
Goldust w/Eugene
vs. Ted DiBiase w/Maryse

DiBiase's arrogance quickly got him in trouble, and he continued to show some complacency to give Goldust a big chance, and the fans were loving it, as was Eugene on the outside when DiBiase felt the Shattered Dreams. Maryse was wincing on the outside, and DiBiase was in trouble. Goldust looked on the verge of victory as he pulled Ted into place for the Curtain Call, but the youngster fought his way out of it and into the ropes. Goldust ran into him, right into an extended elbow that sent him staggering away from the ropes. Ted ran out behind him and took him down with a clothesline to the back. DiBiase smells blood though now and stalks him for the Million Dollar Dream, and Goldust makes his way back up completely oblivious as Ted grabs him for the submission hold.

Goldie fights back though and forces Ted back into the corner, fighting his way free. He walks out and then turns back, running into Ted and a raised boot. DiBiase follows him right out and takes him down onto Dream Street, going straight for the cover to pick up the win. Ted stands up looking very relieved and stares into the stands disapprovingly at the boos as the ref raises his hand. Maryse enters the ring and congratulates her boyfriend, kisses him and raises his hand too as he now enjoys his victory, smirking smugly into the crowd.

Winner: Ted DiBiase by pinfall.

Jim Ross: It's been a good couple of weeks f' DiBiase. We'll find out soon enough if he's going t' start this incredible year of his he has planned by winning the Royal Rumble this Sunday.

Jerry Lawler: Yeah right. He's all talk JR. He'll find that out f' himself soon enough.

The Miz & Zack Ryder are shown making their way through the back with smug smiles on their faces, both in their ring gear and wearing custom T-shirts.

Jim Ross:
Well King, it looks like when we come back we'll see these two jerks who last week jumped John Morrison an' Justin Gabriel before they were supposed t' meet in the ring. I don't think you'll want t' go anywhere folks as these two are never short of things t' say.

*Commercial Break*

*Video Recap*
From Last Week!

Eric Bischoff is walking through the production area and we can hear some commotion. The camera pans suddenly and zooms into the distance to show The Miz & Zack Ryder stomping the hell out of John Morrison & Justin Gabriel. Miz & Ryder are in their ring gear and Miz pulls Gabriel up off the ground and tosses him head first into a production box, looking like it really must've done some damage.

Eric Bischoff:
HEY, stop that right now.

Bischoff stomps his way towards them and ushers Ryder away from Morrison with Miz staring down intensely at Gabriel who looks in a bad way.

Eric Bischoff:
What the hell d' you think you're doing huh? Get your asses out there now an' I'll find your some other opponents.

Miz & Ryder look at each other smirking, pissing Bischoff off even more.

Eric Bischoff:
Did you not hear what I said? GO.

They sure got the message this time and they head off to the ring as Bischoff sees Gabriel barely moving on the floor. He walks towards him and kneels down to check on him, clearly looking concerned for him and he turns round looking up the hall.

Eric Bischoff:
CAN I GET SOME HELP DOWN HERE PLEASE? NOW.

Bischoff turns back to Gabriel, whose eyes are all over the place.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

"AWE-SOME!"

The Miz & Zack Ryder
stroll out to the stage to heat from the crowd, still looking very pleased with themselves. They take their time walking down to the ring, not in a rush at all as The Miz picks a microphone up off the apron before entering the ring with The Long Island Loudmouth. They walk into the middle of the ring and the music cuts, bringing out the sound of the boos, not that they bother either man.

The Miz:
I hate t' be the bearer of bad news but unfortunately it pains me t' say that as much as Zack an' myself were hoping to embarrass John Morrison an' that kid who's latched himself onto him t'night, it appears that kid hasn't recovered from the little slap t' the head we gave him last week. He wasn't able to compete last week when we were supposed t' face them in this ring and I'm afraid that match won't take place t'night either.

*Heat*

The Miz: It's a shame I know but it can't be helped. They however know as well as we do that we'd embarrass them. . .

?: . . . Hey Miz, up here.

A shot of Eric Bischoff in his office is shown on the tron.

Eric Bischoff:
Miz, I couldn't help but hear what you just said an' there a few things I'd like to address. First, you were unfortunately correct when you said that Justin Gabriel hasn't been cleared to compete yet after what you two did last week.

*Heat*

Eric Bischoff: That doesn't mean that the match between you two, Gabriel an' Morrison won't take place very soon. In fact it will happen very soon, this Sunday night at the Royal Rumble.

*Pop*

The shot goes back to the ring and Miz & Ryder don't look too happy right now.

Eric Bischoff:
That's not all however. Seeing as it looks like you're ready t' go Miz, you're going to have a match right now.

"Ain't No Make Believe"

A big pop breaks out and John Morrison walks out to the stage with Justin Gabriel coming out with him. Miz & Ryder look on angrily from the ring as The Monday Night Delight heads straight down to the ring, no slow motion shot tonight as he & Gabriel stare right at them all the way down to the ring.

*Match #5*
John Morrison w/Justin Gabriel
vs. The Miz w/Zack Ryder

With Gabriel watching from ringside, Morrison was determined to get even with Miz after last week. It hasn't been that easy though, and after setting Miz up for the Moonlight Drive, Ryder jumped up to the apron and distracted Morrison. He let go of Miz and went for Ryder, and after the Long Island Loudmouth quickly jumped back down to the floor. Miz snuck up behind Morrison and planted him with a quick combo, an inverted backbreaker followed up by a neckbreaker. It wasn't enough to get the three but he stands up getting ready to hit the Skull Crushing Finale. The fans boo and Gabriel looks concerned as Morrison claws his way back up, unaware of what's waiting for him.

As Miz grabs him though, Morrison quickly slips behind him and takes him down with a russian legsweep. Both men pick themselves back up and Morrison runs into the ropes, jumping onto the second rope for a springboard enzuigiri, but Ryder grabs his boot and JoMo lands hard on the mat. The fans boo and the ref gives him a strong warning, and Gabriel walks round, gesturing furiously at him as The Miz looks on, then turns the attention back to Morrison, dragging him up from his knees and driving him into the canvas courtesy of the Skull Crushing Finale.

The fans continue to boo as he confidently turns his former partner onto his back and hooks the leg, getting the three count and a big win heading into Sunday night. "Awesome" hits to more heat as he gets his arm raised with a smug smile on his face, and he takes his leave, joining the all-smiling Ryder on the outside. They turn back as Gabriel enters the ring to check on Morrison who sits up angrily, staring in Miz & Ryder's direction, who just laugh back at them.

Winner: The Miz by pinfall.

Jim Ross: The Miz an' Ryder might be smiling t'night but will that be the case Sunday night when they take on Morrison an' Gabriel at the Royal Rumble?

Jerry Lawler: I sure hope not JR.

>This Sunday!<

Jim Ross & The King are stood in the ring, both with microphones.

Jim Ross:
We're now just a matter of days from this year's Royal Rumble, by far the most eagerly anticipated Royal Rumble of all time, as for the first time ever, the WWE Championship will be defended in the Rumble match.

Jim Ross: Well it's not all about the Rumble match folks. Last Friday night on Smackdown we saw new tag team champions crowned. Paul London an' Brian Kendrick, who've had a rocky few months have surprised ev'ryone in recent weeks by putting their diff'rences behind them, then on Friday they completed their resurgence by defeating The Empire to become WWE Tag Team Champions for a fourth time. The Empire however have activated their rematch clause f' this Sunday, an' Tazz has barred the rest of The Empire, William Regal an' Katie Lee from ringside t' make sure there's no repeat of last Friday night.

Jerry Lawler: That's a good decision JR. The Empire have shown many times they aren't t' be trusted.

Jim Ross: That's true King. They'll have a job on their hands getting the titles back. The last time London an' Kendrick held the WWE tag team titles they held them f' a long long time, not little over a week if they're t' lose them this weekend.

Jim Ross: Someone else who'll be desperate to keep their title will be Matt Sydal when he defends the United States title against Dolph Ziggler. The 2008 King of the Ring an' Breakout Star of the Year had an incredible 2008 until the end when his opponent this Sunday racked up back-to-back wins at his expense in non-title matches. Ziggler will be looking to make it third time lucky yhough this Sunday t' become the new United States Champion.

Jerry Lawler: Or JR, Sydal will be hoping it's third time lucky in beating Dolph Ziggler. Either way it's going t' be a great match.

Jim Ross: It sure will King but so will this one. There might not be a title on the line between Kofi Kingston an' Jay Lethal but the winner will go onto the Royal Rumble match an' a shot at the WWE Championship. Not only that folks, but more importantly the bragging rights in the feud between these two brothers that's become very personal indeed.

Jerry Lawler: You can say that again, an' it might get a bit more personal in a few moments when you talk t' Kofi in here.

Jim Ross: It's hard to imagine just how much more personal it can get. Jay Lethal's been hell bent on getting revenge as he sees it on Kofi for walking out on him an' his family t' come to the WWE, but as you said I'll be speaking to Kofi in just a couple of minutes about this very personal match-up we'll see Sunday night.

Jim Ross: Also, as we just found out before the break, we'll see these two teams who were supposed t' meet last week until Justin Gabriel was attacked by The Miz an' Zack Ryder last week. Gabriel might not've been cleared t' compete t'night but he'll be ready Sunday when he teams up with John Morrison t' take on Miz an' Ryder.

Jerry Lawler: After The Miz got one over on them again t'night you've got t' think JR that he an' Ryder have Morrison an' Gabriel's number, but we'll find out Sunday when hopefully Miz an' Ryder get what's coming to them.

Jim Ross: The odds are we'll see a new WWE Champion but we'll definitely see a new World Heavyweight Champion in what has become a very volatile situation indeed.

Jerry Lawler: You can say that again JR, but with that said I can't wait t' Cena an' Punk go at it. I can't imagine how much more out of control this can get.

Jim Ross: It sure promises t' be one hell of an explosive encounter with so much at stake an' after what happened the last time they met at Night of Champions. Let's just hope this time that it comes down t' just these two with no one getting involved.

Jim Ross: It all however comes down t' this. For only the second time in hist'ry the WWE title will be decided in the Royal Rumble match. It'll be defended for the first time by Triple H who will have t' fight off 29 superstars if he's to retain his title. Unless he's able to win the gauntlet match later on t'night he'll have t' do it as the number one entrant. It doesn't get any more difficult than that.

Jerry Lawler: It sure doesn't. Winning the Royal Rumble is so tough as it is, but as number one, it's almost impossible.

Jim Ross: Well we don't have long t' wait now. All this is just six nights away, live on pay-per-view an' you sure won't want t' miss the 20th anniversary of the Royal Rumble live on pay-per-view. . . Back to t'night now, an' at this time I'd like to welcome down to this ring the man who this Sunday will go one-on-one with his brother. Please welcome Kofi KING-STON.

"S.O.S."

A big pop comes from the stands and a low-key Kofi Kingston walks out to the stage. He stops & looks into the crowd for a brief second and carries on down to the ring to join JR as The King takes his leave, returning to the announce table. Kofi's music stops as he shakes hands with JR who passes him The King's microphone.

Jim Ross:
I'd like t' thank you Kofi f' coming out here to speak with us. I think we're all aware of how difficult this situation between yourself an' your brother Jay is ahead of your match this Sunday at the Royal Rumble. How exactly are you feeling going into that match that will see the winner also pr'gress to the Royal Rumble match an' a shot at the WWE Championship, an' does that complicate things?

Kofi takes a couple of seconds to compose himself.

Kofi Kingston:
Does it complicate things? Yeah, just a bit. The whole reason I came here an' wan'ed t' be a WWE superstar was t' be the WWE Champion. It's what I've dreamt about almost all my life. It's why I left home an' my family t' try an' make that dream come true with my mother's blessing. It was the toughest thing I've ever done but I don't regret it, until now. I never thought I'd find myself in this position, having t' fight my brother Jay, let alone with a shot at the WWE title if I beat 'im.

Kofi takes a bit more time to compose himself.

Kofi Kingston:
Me an' Jay, we always got along growin' up. That's why it's tough even thinkin' about gettin' in the ring with 'im, an' that's after ev'ry last thing he's said about me. The thing is JR he's still my brother, an' in a way I don't blame 'im f' being mad at me f' what I did. The whole thing, the longer it's gone on, the more uneasy I feel about it.

Jim Ross: I can't pretend t' understand what you're feeling Kofi but given how personal this is an' how uneasy it's making you, does the fact that you can get a shot at the WWE title, what you've always dreamed of make you channel things diff'rently?

Kofi Kingston: If only it was that easy JR. Yeah I can try an' think of it bein' just a match against just anyone but I've tried that an' it's not worked yet. I mean first I was happy about gettin' the chance t' get my hands on Jay after he blindsided me, then the shot at the WWE title came up, an' the thought of it all kind o'felt like I could kill two birds with one stone. The more time's gone by though, the more time I've had t' think about it on the road, the tougher it's all got, an' I've thought of nothing else. I feel kind o'sick about puttin' my hands on my brother. It's not like when we were play fighting as kids. This is real JR. I know what Jay wants t' do. Hell he's told me enough times the last couple o'months, but right now I don't know what t' thin. . .

Jay Lethal's music hits and he steps out into the arena to a barrage of boos. Kofi & JR turn round and watch him calmly walking down the ramp to the ring. He walks up the steps and joins his brother & JR inside, staring at Kofi before brushing past him to go and get a microphone. He gets one and his music stops as he walks back towards them, getting a dirty look from JR with Kofi trying to avoid any kind of conflict.

Jay Lethal:
If I were you JR I'd get out of the ring before you get in harm's way.

Jay stares right at JR, unsettling him and Kofi nods at him, telling him it's best he left the ring, and he does.

Jay Lethal:
Smart JR, but as f' you bro you're not going anywhere. You're gonna hear what I've gotta say. JR an' these fans might wanna hear your side of things an' you try an' make me out t' be the bad guy in all this when you're the one who walked out on me an' our family. Yeah whatever, you might've got our mom's blessing but you still left her too.

*Heat*

Jay Lethal: Now you might have problems with all this but I don't. I sure as hell don't feel uneasy about beating the crap out of you. Hell I'm lookin' forward to it. I've been lookin' forward to it f' years.

*More Heat*

Jay Lethal: You know what I want most though? I want you t' turn up Sunday at your best. That way it'll feel even better an' you won't have any excuses whatsoever. If you can't get up f' this fight though, I've got a problem with that. Don't worry I can change that.

Lethal slaps the taste out of Kofi's mouth to the shock of everyone in the arena, and he just stands there staring at him. Kofi can't believe it and again tries to keep calm, but it's not easy and the fans boo the hell out of Lethal.

Jay Lethal:
Come on Kofi, hit me. You know you want to. Come on, hit me. Hit me, come on, do it.

Kofi looks like he wants to but he manages to stop himself with Lethal glaring at his brother, willing him to do something.

Kofi Kingston:
No, I'm not gonna do it.

Kofi kneels down and drops the microphone, now walks past Jay, moving towards the ropes.

Jay Lethal:
That's it Kofi, do what you do best, walk away, again.

Kofi stops and looks down, clearly angry inside and he turns round, going face-to-face with Jay to a big pop. They look right into each other's eyes, looking like they're about to beat the hell out of each other, but again Kofi turns round and walks away. The fans boo but Lethal grabs Kofi's arm and spins him round, throwing a right hand at him. Kofi ducks it though and instinctively nails him with the Trouble in Paradise to a huge pop. He stays on the mat and looks on in shock at flooring his brother.

He looks almost sorry for what he's done as he stands up, running his hands through his hair. He looks into the crowd, still in shock at his own actions. He turns round and leaves the ring, not looking back, heading right back up the ramp beating himself up for what he did as Jay comes round, glaring up in his brother's direction. Kofi gets to the stage and does turn back, seeing his brother staring right up at him, and Kofi still looks rattled by his own actions as he turns round to walk to the back.

Jerry Lawler:
If I was Kofi JR, I wouldn't feel bad about hitting that jerk.

Jim Ross: Me either King, but he'll have to Sunday at the Rumble. That though can wait, because when we come back it'll be the gauntlet match to determine who will get the precious number 30 spot in the Royal Rumble. We'll be back in a couple of minutes. Don't go far.

*Commercial Break*

"Break The Walls Down"

Chris Jericho
is standing in the middle of the ring with a microphone, ready for action looking very calm despite the prospect in hand as his music stops with the fans booing.

Chris Jericho:
Regardless of what happens t'night or what number I am in the Royal Rumble, the only thing that matters is that I will be the last man standing this Sunday and I will become the new WWE Champion for one simple reason, because I am the best in the world at what I do.

"Crank It Up"

A big pop greets The Big Show as he hits the stage all smiles, soaking up the ovation as Jericho looks on, handing the microphone back to Lilian and preparing for Show's arrival.

*The Main Event*
Gauntlet Match for Number 30 in the Royal Rumble
The Big Show vs. Chris Jericho

Jericho tried to play dirty with Show determined to push on, and he looked all set for the first fall of the gauntlet when he managed to pull Jericho slightly away from the ropes and plant him with a chokeslam, only Jericho rolled under the bottom rope. Show couldn't take advantage and after several seconds he went outside after Jericho who was crawling on all fours close to the ring-steps. Show walked towards and tried to pick him up, but the resourceful Canadian reacted with a drop toe hold to send Show face first into the steps. Still groggy himself, Jericho struggled back up onto the apron and into the ring as Show started to stir, crawling to the apron as the ref counted to 10, giving Jericho the first fall by count out.

Winner of Fall: Chris Jericho by count out.

Gauntlet Match ctd
The Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho

Big Show dragged himself back up onto the apron looking devastated to have been counted out and Jericho sat up laughing & pointing at him. Show was about to step over the ropes when the lights went out and the gong hit, signalling Taker's arrival. Jericho was stunned, panicking with Show the one now laughing as Taker brought the lights back on and entered the ring. Taker removed his hat & jacket and approached Jericho who was pleading for mercy on his knees, all to the amusement of Show as he stepped off the apron and walked round the ring to the ramp.

Taker took no pity on Jericho as he slowly stood up, being scooped up off his feet for the Tombstone. Jericho though slipped down Taker's back and clubbed him across the back. Jericho mistakenly waited for a reaction, and he got one as Taker turned round and stared menacingly into his eyes. The phenom hammered him with a couple of right hands before firing him into the ropes, and Jericho came bouncing back into a huge big boot. To his credit he tried to get right back up, but he walked right into a chokeslam, and then Taker put him away with the Tombstone to move one fall closer to the precious number 30 spot.

Winner of Fall: The Undertaker by pinfall.

*Commercial Break*

Gauntlet Match ctd
The Undertaker vs. Sheamus

Taker greeted Sheamus's arrival with a great deal of satisfaction, and Sheamus was out to prove a point after their recent run-ins. To his credit, The Celtic Warrior took the fight to The Undertaker, and the Intercontinental Champion didn't look out of his depth at all, coming so close to the upset after the Irish Curse. It only brought a two count, and he came even closer when he connected with the Brogue Kick. Only Taker's left boot denied Sheamus the three count when he got it up on the rope at the last split second to frustrate the Irishman even more. Sheamus couldn't believe it and went deeper into his locker, bringing out the High Cross, but Taker countered with a back body drop.

A desperate Sheamus wasn't down for long, but it was his turn to meet a big boot as he ran right into it. Taker seized the momentum from there, almost securing the fall with a jumping DDT. Sheamus bravely kicked out, and after dodging a clothesline in the corner that saw Taker crash into the pads, he saw another chance for the Brogue Kick, only Taker ducked it and reacted almost instantly to plant him with a chokeslam. Sheamus was there for the taking and fell victim to the same fate Jericho did earlier, the Tombstone, and it was enough for Taker to pick up consecutive falls.

Winner of Fall: The Undertaker by pinfall.

*Commercial Break*

Gauntlet Match ctd
The Undertaker vs. Triple H

Everyone including Taker watched eagerly awaiting his next opponent, and the WWE Champion made his way out to deafening heat. Fortunately for Triple H he came up against a slightly beaten down opponent, and it looked like The Game was about to win the fall when he sidestepped a high angle suicide dive that saw Taker hit the floor. The phenom just made it back into the ring before the ref could count to 10, really pissing Triple H off. He helped the resilient Taker up from his knees and fired him into the ropes, planting him with a spinning spinebuster as he came back. The Game meant business and didn't go for the cover, choosing now instead to go to straight to the Pedigree.

He watches Taker struggle back up to his feet and instantly stomps him in the gut, pulling him into place, but Taker counters with a back body drop. Both men are on their knees and they pull themselves back up with the crowd watching closely. The Game's so intense and charges at Taker, for a clothesline, but Taker ducks it and Triple H knocks down the referee, and he stays down. Trips looks shocked, but as he turns round, Taker grabs him around the throat for a chokeslam. The fans go nuts, but the WWE Champion responds with a swift kick to the groin, bringing out a ton of heat from the livid Missouri crowd. Triple H shows no remorse though as he sadistically watches Taker writhing around in agony. He now turns his head and crawls across the mat, slipping out of the ring and looking under it, bringing out his sledgehammer to a ton of heat.

The crowd erupts with a deafening amount of boos for the WWE Champion as he slips back in the ring with his trusty ally. He stands up looking at it with a sick look on his face as Taker claws his way back, completely unaware of what's in store. The Game's ready to snap, and he does, racing across at the phenom, but Taker counters with a big boot to put the WWE Champion down, losing possession of the sledgehammer as well. The fans love it too, and Taker looks furious as he sees the weapon, and he picks it up to another almighty pop cheer. The fans are going crazy as Taker gets a feel for the sledgehammer as Trips sits up, but so does the referee and he sees Taker holding the sledgehammer and wrongly calls for the bell to disqualify The Undertaker.

Neither man knows what's happening until Triple H is announced as the winner of the fall and the match to win the number 30 spot in Sunday's Royal Rumble, and for the first time in weeks the WWE Champion has a big smile on his face as he stands up with Taker shell shocked. Taker throws the hammer down, landing on the apron as he stares at the referee as he stands back up too. Taker shakes his head and turns round in disgust, reluctantly leaving the ring to a bombardment of boos with The Game getting his arm raised. "The Game" hits with the crowd furious, as is Taker as he takes one livid look back before heading backstage, leaving Triple H throwing his title defiantly up into the air.

Winner of Fall: Triple H by DQ.

?: Cut the music.

The music is indeed stopped and The Game looks up at the stage, confused & angry to see Eric Bischoff walk out.

Eric Bischoff:
It appears there's some kind of confusion, but this match, well it isn't over.

The fans cheer loudly as the WWE Champion shakes his head in disgust, not looking all that surprised as he looks up at Bischoff.

Eric Bischoff:
There's still one man left to run the gauntlet, so referee please stay where you are 'cause we're not done just yet.

Bischoff steps to the side with Triple H mouthing some derogatory remarks up at him.

"I hear voices in my head. . ."

The crowd goes nuts as Randy Orton calmly walks out to the stage, turning his head slightly to look at Bischoff who's got a wry smile on his face. The Viper looks menacing as he sets off down the ramp, eyes fixed firmly on the man who put him out of action at the Survivor Series. The Game's seething inside but resigns himself to the fact he's got another match to get through as Orton climbs up the steps and enters the ring to a massive roar from the Missouri crowd. He stares intently over at Triple H, ready to go after over two months out.

Gauntlet Match ctd
Randy Orton vs. Triple H

The Game can't believe what's going on and snaps, running right at Orton, swinging the WWE title at him, but Orton ducks it and jumps up in the air as they both turn round, planting him with the RKO to a crazy pop. Missouri is going nuts for Orton as Bischoff looks on with a smile before heading to the back. Orton though isn't satisfied and just stares at The Game, still on the mat, getting his head in close to Trips'. The Viper's not done though and he shifts his position, then drives his fists into the mat forcefully, wanting more as the WWE Champion starts to come round.

His eyes are all over the place, and it takes him a day & age to get to his knees, not knowing where he is. Orton does though with the fans all on their feet cheering, and as The Game makes it up, still all over the shop, The Viper strikes with another RKO, this time going for the cover and getting the three count. The roof's almost blown off the arena as Missouri goes wild for Orton, who leans back on his knees looking down intensely at the man who put him out for two months.

Orton now slowly stands up to get his arm raised as he is announced as number 30 in the Royal Rumble. He turns his head and looks into the stands, still cheering like crazy, but he turns back and sees the WWE Championship on the mat. He coolly walks towards it and reaches down to it, slowly also before picking it up and looking right at it with intent. He looks down at The Game again, who's flat on his back with Orton standing above him with his WWE title.

Winner: Randy Orton by pinfall.

Jim Ross: Randy Orton is back King and he's back as number 30 in the Royal Rumble match. What a threat he's going t' be Sunday when Triple H becomes the first man to defend the WWE Championship in the Rumble match.

Jerry Lawler: We've been here a long time JR but I don't think I've ever been as excited as I am about a match as I am about the Royal Rumble this Sunday.

Jim Ross: I can't remember any match being so eagerly anticipated King, an' we're now just six nights away from finding out if Triple H will be able to defend the WWE title against 29 other superstars desperate to take that title from him. It's a match an' show you won't want t' miss folks. We'll be there Sunday in Greensboro. Take care folks, we'll see y'then.

RAW Review

Definitely loved RAW but I felt that RAW would have been even better if my man Orton were to punt Triple H in the skull, like ending our misery of seeing Triple H walk around with that title, and Orton kicks him so hard in the skull that he ends up taking Triple H out of action with one swift kick to the skull, it would then force Triple H to relinquish the title and the WWE Championship then ends up being vacant with Triple H having to vacate it and then the WWE Championship ends up being vacant too with the title being defended in the Royal Rumble Match but then there would be 2 titles vacant and we can't have that, now can we

I just hope Triple H gets punted in his skull sooner or later, because we all know HHH has his sledgehammer but Orton has his punt and the punt is much more lethal especially when Orton hits it perfectly

And the gauntlet matches had so many WrestleMania worthy type matches like Big Show facing off against Jericho with Jericho getting the win and then Jericho having to face Taker and Taker getting the win and then Taker having to face The Great White Sheamus and then Taker getting the win again only to have to face the WWE Champion Triple H

And then Triple H that coward winning by DQ only for him to face my man Orton and then Orton beating him to become the #30 entrant in the Royal Rumble Match, it is pretty much a guarantee Orton is a favorite now for the Rumble match and Triple H is still the #1 entrant, definite disadvantage for The Game because he has to deal not just with Orton but with other superstars from both RAW and Smackdown like The Undertaker, Edge, Christian, HBK, Bryan Danielson, Sheamus, Ted DiBiase, Carlito & Eddie Colon, Rey Mysterio, Mistico aka Sin Cara, Kaval, Daniels, Big Show, Jericho, the list goes on and on

Definitely loved the segment with the 2 brothers Kofi Kingston & his younger brother Jay Lethal, really getting down to this family feud and just how it all stems from Kofi leaving home to come here to the WWE, and Lethal never forgiving him for leaving, and then it really got personal and really hit close to home especially with Lethal slapping Kofi and then egging him on to hit back but Kofi not wanting to hit his little brother but his little brother kept taunting him and then tried to go for a punch and Kofi hitting Trouble In Paradise on him, that is why I can't wait for their match at the Royal Rumble

Loved the segment also with HBK & Danielson and Sheamus, all 3 of them are favorites in my book to win the Rumble match

Daniels & Kaval qualifying by beating Team Omega, also loved that

And I also loved Edge making a statement by attacking JTG and showing up on RAW

Can't wait until the Beautiful People Angelina Love and Velvet Sky make their debuts in the WWE in your diary, I wonder just when they will show up and which brand they will both be a part of

Royal Rumble PPV Predictions

Paul London and Brian Kendrick vs. The Empire (c), as for who I see coming out on top here in this match are The Empire, McIntyre and Barrett just won the WWE Tag Team Championship, no way they lose it so soon after winning and I can definitely see Kendrick turning on London after the match is over and both of them end up losing their re-match for the WWE Tag Team Championship, and I loved Kendrick when he turned heel in the first place and became "The Brian Kendrick", and I just hope you turn him into "The Brian Kendrick" and you have him have a bodyguard similar to when Shawn Michaels hired Diesel Kevin Nash to be his bodyguard, Kendrick and his bodyguard can become the new HBK and Diesel of this new generation because London and Kendrick remind me all too much of The Rockers Michaels & Jannetty

Matt Sydal (c) vs Dolph Ziggler for the WWE United States Championship, as for who I think will end up coming on top, I see Dolph becoming the new WWE United States Champion ending this run Sydal has been on with Dolph making 2009 his year and by doing that, he needs to beat Sydal at the Royal Rumble and I know he will

Kofi Kingston vs Jay Lethal Brother vs. Brother, sibling rivalry heats up as these 2 brothers collide, just who will come out on top? I see Jay Lethal coming out on top beating his older brother because this rivalry reminds me so much of any good brother/brother feud in WWE history like Bret/Owen back in the 1990s with Kofi being the Bret in the situation and Jay being the Owen in the situation, and that is why I want to see Jay Lethal go over Kofi considering he is relatively new on the scene, and also I want to see Jay Lethal in the Royal Rumble match because I want to see how he can handle himself against superstars like The Undertaker, Triple H, Edge, Christian, HBK, Big Show, Orton, Jericho, etc. but then I can see Kofi coming into the Royal Rumble match attacking his brother in the entranceway while Jay Lethal makes his way to the ring with Kofi attacking him from behind similar to 1995 when Bret did that to Owen costing him his chance at the Rumble, I can see Kofi doing the same after losing to Jay, but then their rivalry really heating up all the way towards WrestleMania 25 with Kofi ultimately getting revenge there

Morrison & Gabriel vs Ryder & Miz, as for who wins this match, I have to go with Morrison and Gabriel

For the World Heavyweight Championship, one fall to a finish, CM Punk vs. John Cena for the vacant World Title, who do I see winning it, I can see Punk winning the match and becoming World Champion once again with Cena coming up short

And then the Royal Rumble match itself for the WWE Championship, Triple H having to defend his WWE Championship against 29 other superstars in the Royal Rumble Match and especially having to do it as the #1 entrant, no way Triple H comes in as the first man in and the last man standing, NO CHANCE IN HELL LIKE HOW VINCE WOULD SAY, NO CHANCE IN HELL Triple H retains his WWE Championship, now as for who I see winning the Royal Rumble Match itself and becoming the new WWE Champion, I see The Viper Randy Orton my man winning the Royal Rumble seeing as how he just returned like just last week on RAW, so he is my pick to win the Rumble and walk out the new WWE Champion

As for who I think the final 5 guys will be in the match: Triple H (c), Randy Orton, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Edge

Final 4- Triple H (c), Randy Orton, The Undertaker and Edge with Shawn Michaels being eliminated by Sheamus as payback for Shawn eliminating Sheamus earlier on in the match-up, causing a brawl between HBK and Sheamus

Final 3- Triple H (c), Randy Orton, and Edge with The Undertaker being eliminated by Triple H, and Taker goes nuts after being eliminated by Triple H, that he comes back into the ring and lays out Randy Orton and Edge with chokeslams and then lays out Triple H with the Tombstone

Final 2- Triple H (c), and Randy Orton with Edge being eliminated by Triple H accidentally because Edge and Triple H I think will double-team Orton for a bit and then it will end up backfiring as Edge is holding up Orton for Triple H and when Triple H looks to clothesline Orton over the top rope, Orton ducks the clothesline attempt and Triple H then clotheslines Edge over the top rope eliminating him

Winner- Randy Orton after Triple H turns back around after eliminating Edge, Edge distracts Triple H long enough by getting in his face for eliminating him and Triple H walks right into an RKO and then Orton throws HHH over the top rope to win the match and become the new WWE Champion

London & Kendrick won the titles on the last Smackdown and they've only just got back together having already split. This is the starting point of their resurgence, but yeah it was a very short title reign for The Empire. The way they lost the titles and won them is part of the continuing program with The UK Pack.

Thank you for clarifying and I can't wait until you post up Smackdown because I am sure the last Smackdown before the Royal Rumble PPV will be jam packed and I love how you had your gauntlet on RAW have WrestleMania worthy type matches but I hope you can do the same thing on Smackdown by having your card be main-event worthy matches, but whenever you post up Smackdown or your Rumble PPV, do let me know
