I really like the WWE Championship being defended in the Royal Rumble match. Deeply impressed by how long this thread has been going, takes real dedication!

>Headlines!<

>Triple H To Play The Game. . . Against 29 Men. . . For the WWE Title!<

Last night on Raw, just 24 hours after successfully defending his WWE Championship against Batista in a 3 Stages of Hell match, Triple H found out that he's not escaped hell just yet to say the least.

In less than four weeks The Game will defend his title in the Royal Rumble match against 29 other men, and his response was to pedigree the man behind the decision, Eric Bischoff. Earlier in the night Raw's Head of Authority promised to make history, and he did in announcing that Triple H will be the first ever superstar to defend the WWE title in the Royal Rumble match. Understandably The Game was livid at the bombshell, but you have to wonder if attacking his boss was a good idea, especially given Bischoff's reputation. We'll have to wait a week to find out but how will Smackdown's superstars react to the news that they'll be able to fight for the WWE Championship at the Rumble?

>Batista Calls It a Day<

As a result of The Game's victory at Night of Champions, the man he defeated, the former WWE Champion & multi-time World Heavyweight Champion, Batista decided to call time on his WWE career last night.

The decision came as a huge shock to everyone in the company, however The Animal stated that it was a decision he had been thinking about for a long time. He told the watching world that he wanted to walk away while he was still able to walk and was adamant that the time was now right to retire from the ring. It even caught some of his best friends off guard with The Big Show, Rey Mysterio & Finlay meeting him on his way back from the ring for the last time to embrace him. It goes without saying that Batista will be missed by everyone and we wish him the best of luck in his retirement.

>Brothers To Go To War at the Rumble<

Over the past few weeks we've seen Kofi Kingston troubled by the unexpected appearance of his brother, Jay, and last night it came to a head.

Having attacked Kofi only seconds after his loss to Sheamus at Night of Champions, his brother continued attacking Kofi, only verbally this time, and he got a response he didn't expect. Kofi told Jay that despite what he previously said about walking out on his family without his mother's blessing, he did in fact get her blessing but Kofi didn't want Jay to blame their mother and instead decided to take the blame himself. He certainly didn't expect to have to deal with his brother out for revenge against him, or that his brother would change his surname as he didn't want to share the same name with him.

From what we hear he now goes by the name Jay Lethal, and after jumping Kofi on his way out of the ring, they fought all the way to the back and in front of Eric Bischoff. Raw's Head of Authority laid down the gauntlet to them, making a match between them for the Royal Rumble where only the winner will advance to the Rumble match and a shot at the WWE Championship nobody expected to be getting. The brothers will battle it out for the huge opportunity dangled in front of them by Bischoff, and with so much more at stake now, will it be Kofi or Jay that gets that opportunity and the bragging rights?

>Tomko Released<

The WWE has today released Tyson Tomko from his contract. We wish him the very best of luck in his future endeavours.

Batista is an asset, but like real life it probably suits the WWE to have him out of the picture anf give hi spot to someone else

Lethal v Kingston should be a great opening match to the Rumble, expecting Kingston to win but Lethal to cost him in the Rumble, thus the feud continues

Tomko isnt worth mentioning haha

Looking forward to the next show

Friday Night Smackdown
Friday 26th December 2008 - Preview!
From the E Center
West Valley City, Utah

The last Smackdown of the 2008 is upon us and after the events of Night of Champions this past Sunday it should be an explosive end to the year.

We saw a new World Heavyweight Champion crowned in highly controversial circumstances when John Cena defeated CM Punk. He owes Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley a big one after the WWE's Executive Vice-President counted a quick fall, something that neither Cena or Punk looked too happy about. It's safe to say that Punk will be gunning for Stephanie yet again, only this time he has every right to be angry, but will that make any difference, and what kind of reception will Cena get as the new champion from the far from welcoming Smackdown locker room? It's going to be a bumpy ride that you simply can't afford to miss.

New WWE Tag Team Champions were also crowned in controversial circumstances after Wade Barrett knocked Paul Burchill out with brass knucks slipped into the ring to him by William Regal, securing Barrett & Drew McIntyre the tag team titles they've set their sights on since arriving on Smackdown earlier this year. Burchill's full time tag team partner, Harry Smith was understandably angry as he & his stand-in, TJ Wilson had to endure seeing The Empire parade with their newly won titles. We understand that they won't have long to settle into their new role as champions as they will be in action this week against Paul London & Brian Kendrick. It'll be a tough test for the new champions as London & Kendrick have been on a roll since they've reunited recently. Could The Empire come back down to earth with a bang?

Matt Sydal & J-Red has no such problems in defending their titles as they overcame Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez & Chavo Guerrero respectively. They will be back in action on the last Smackdown of the calendar year with Red defending the Cruiserweight Championship against Johnny Devine. Sydal won't be putting his United States title on the line though when he competes in a rematch from last week against Dolph Ziggler. Last week Sydal was distracted by Del Rio-Ramirez and the distraction helped Ziggler pick up a victory over the Breakout Star of the Year. Can Sydal end the year on yet another high or will he lose to Ziggler for a second straight week?

Another champion who successfully defended their title Sunday night was Beth Phoenix, overcoming Michelle McCool to retain the diva's title. Surely The Glamazon will be happy to have shut McCool up, and we understand that she too maybe in action this week but it's yet to be confirmed. Having got McCool off her back she shouldn't care less about stepping into the ring after her victory on Sunday evening.

'The Rated-R' Superstar' Edge received a shock last week during his match with John Cena when his brother, Christian returned out of the blue. It was six weeks ago that Edge put Captain Charisma on the shelf after attacking him in the parking lot at the Survivor Series before they were both set to compete in the highly anticipated Team Cena versus Team Punk elimination match. It looked like Christian couldn't wait to get his hands on his brother last week and we hear that he will be at Smackdown this Friday night in West Valley. Make sure you're there to see him.

It sure promises to be an exciting end to 2008 this Friday night. You'd be a fool to miss it!

Confirmed for the Last Smackdown of 2008!

Cruiserweight Championship

J-Red (c) vs. Johnny Devine

Non-Title Match
Matt Sydal vs. Dolph Ziggler

Non-Title Match
Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. The Empire

My man... long time no see. Haha. I haven't gone back and looked through the recent happenings like I wanted to, but I figured I'd drop by and leave my two cents in the form of a short prediction for the coming Smackdown.

First off, I'd like to thank you for the way you set up your preview. Like I said, I didn't get a chance to do too much backwards reading, but from your preview, I feel like I have a decent idea of what's been going on... on Smackdown, at least. I don't know what role Stephanie is playing in the whole Cena/Punk feud, but looks like she's in hot shit after what she did. Looking forward to seeing what happens to her in particular.

In another note, love your use of the superstars you put in your 'Empire' stable. They seem like the group to watch on Smackdown, and I will indeed be watching them in the future.

Anyways, quick predictions for the matches you have confirmed; Gonna go with J-Red to retain the championship, Sydal vs. Ziggler should be an outstanding contest... but gonna go with Ziggz to pick up the win. And lastly, LonDrick has always been one of my favorite teams to book, but I'm gonna go with the Empire to get a win in this one... maybe even a clean one if Burchill doesn't get involved.

All-in-all, your roster for Smackdown seems majorly diverse... I love it man. You've got a good thread going here -- but you already know that... haha. This has always been one of my favorite threads, even back in the days and is swell to see it still going to this day. It's a nice little welcome back treat for my anxious eyes... haha. Shoot me a PM or something when you post up the Smackdown, alright?

Friday Night Smackdown
Friday 26th December 2008
(Recorded Ė Tuesday 23rd December)
From the E Center
West Valley City, Utah

*Opening Video*
"Let It Roll"

_____________________________________________

*Video Recap*
From Night of Champions last Sunday!

Punk escapes again, slipping down Cenaís back and he shoves him right into Tazz, knocking the GM down and rolling towards the apron after clashing heads with Cena. The challenger looks shaky too and Punk looks to take full advantage, spinning him round in a flash, trying to lift him up for the GTS!!!. . . . . Cena doesnít let him and jumps down to his feet straight away to lift Punk off his feet and onto his shoulders, this time connecting with the F-U!!!. . . . .

Itís crazy loud in the arena with the ref & Tazz still down as Cena goes for the cover anyway, hooking both legs, forgetting thereís no-one there to make the count. A pop breaks out in the crowd as Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley walks down the ramp, surprising Cena as he sits up, and as she enters the ring, she tells him to make the cover. Cena does just that and Stephanie makes her way across to make the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

NO! Punk gets his shoulder up to a mixed reaction, not going down too well with Stephanie who doesnít look happy as she stands up. Cena takes it on the chin though and shifts round to Punkís legs. He tries to turn him over for the STFU but Punk kicks up at him, shoving Cena back and down to the mat. Cenaís up quickly though and goes back to Punk, but the World Champion sits up in a flash and pulls Cena down into a SMALL PACKAGE!! . . . . .

1. . . . .

. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

Cena kicks out after a slow count and Punk sits up staring angrily at Stephanie who stares back, guilt free as Cena makes his way back up. Punk gets back up too, walking right into an irish whip and he manages to grab onto the top rope. He holds onto them and Cena runs at him, into a raised boot from Punk who steps out to nail him with a THUNDEROUS ROUNDHOUSE KICK!!!. . . . . Cena falls in a heap and Punk goes for the cover, dropping to his knees and hooking both legs as Stephanie takes her time making her away across to make the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

NO!! Cena gets the shoulder up after another slow count from Stephanie and Punkís livid, and so are some of the crowd. There are some cheers too as Punk stands up and gets into it with Steph, having a right go at her and he gets a slap to the chops for his troubles as Cena sits up. Punk holds his cheek and nods his head with a smirk on his face. He looks into the crowd with Steph now looking a little uneasy. He turns back and she back tracks away from him as Cena makes it back up.

Steph looks relieved as she looks over Punkís shoulder, setting off alarm bells for the World Champion who turns round to see Cena running at him and he ducks. Cena just manages to stop before he runs into Steph, but Punk spins him round in a flash to lift him up onto his shoulders and connects with the GTS!!!. . . . . Punk drops to his knees with a smile on his face to make the cover, but Stephanie stands still, refusing to count the fall to a ton of heat with some cheers mixed in. Punk leans back and looks over at her standing there without a care in the world.

The World Champion canít believe it and stands up, taking his time and walking menacingly towards her. With the crowd going crazy he gets right in her face, having a real go at her and she gives it back, standing her ground as Cena comes round, starting to sit up. Stephanie again tries to slap Punk but he blocks it this time and shakes his head at her, and she realises she might justíve made a mistake. Punk mouths something to her and lifts her up onto his shoulders, setting her up for the GTS!!!. . . . . You canít hear yourself think.

Itís deafening in the arena as Punk turns round with Steph up on his shoulders, but Tazz is back on his feet and pulls her down, pissing Punk off no end who scoops Tazz up off his feet and nails him with the GTS!!!. . . . . Punk stares down coldly at the fallen General Manager with contempt, then turns his head to Stephanie who looks very worried. Punk goes to grab her again but Cena spins him round, catching him off guard to lift him up off the mat and send him crashing into the canvas with the F-U!!!. . . . . The crowd are split as Cena goes for the cover in a hurry and Steph darts across to make the count. . . . .

1. 2. 3.

Steph makes an insanely quick count, giving Cena the win and the world title, drawing a ton of heat in the arena. She goes to get the world title as Cena sits up in shock, not sure what to make of whatís just happened. Stephanie, without a shred of remorse walks over to him with the title and holds it out to him, and he reluctantly takes it in his hand and stands up with ďMy Time is NowĒ playing.

Steph grabs his arm and lifts it up in the air with Cena still unsure of how to deal with whatís gone on. Steph takes her leave and heads back up the ramp without looking back as Cena looks into the crowd with the world title in hand, clueless how to react as Punk sits up with the ref & Tazz still starting to stir. Punkís livid as he looks up at Steph walking through the curtain, then turns to Cena who looks almost apologetic as the show comes to a close with Punk absolutely livid.

_____________________________________________

Michael Cole: Welcome evíryone to the final Friday Night Smackdown of the year, coming tí you tínight from the E Center in West Valley City Utah where after a contríversial night Sunday at Night of Champions, we could be in for an explosive end to 2008.

Matt Striker: Youíre absolutely right Michael. We saw two titles change hands in what can only be described as extremely contríversial circumstances at Night of Champions and I have it on good authority that itís not just CM Punk that's unhappy in how he lost the World Heavyweight Championship. From what Iím led tí believe, John Cena is also unhappy with the events of Sunday night where Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, and I use this word loosely. . . screwed Punk out of the world title.

Michael Cole: Well I also have it on good authority that Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley is here tínight and Iím sure there will be a few people looking for an explanation for her actions in the world title match this past Sunday. We also have new tag team champions in the shape of The Empire, and they too won those titles in contríversial circumstances from Paul Burchill aní TJ Wilson. They will be in action later this evening when they take on the rejuvenated team of Paul London aní Brian Kendrick in what will be a real test for the new champions. . . Also in action will be the three champions that retained their titles at Night of Champions. Matt Sydal, J-Red an' Beth Phoenix will all be in action later on, plus Christian, who returned t' Smackdown last week will be here in the building tínight.

ďThis Fire BurnsĒ

A seething CM Punk walks out to the stage where a christmas tree is set up at the side to a largely negative reaction with Punk stopping & staring angrily into the crowd. Dressed in his street clothes he heads down the ramp, giving the fans dirty looks in the process, and as he enters the ring he walks right over to the apron and demands a microphone. He gets one and turns round, walking into the centre of the ring, looking furiously into the fans as his music grinds to a halt.

CM Punk:
Iím not here tínight tí beat around the bush, Iím just gonna get right tí the point. . . Stephanie McMahon Helmsley. . . Fí a while now sheís had a problem with how I act around here, how I say things that might not reflect the image this company tries tí pítray. Quite frankly I donít give a ratís ass what she or anyone else in her family or the board of directors think about my actions. The fact is I speak my mind and if anyone has a problem with that, thatís their deal not mine. Now you can imagine how what Iím about tí say might just cause some concern for Stephanie an' the image she so cares about given what happened at Night of Champions.

Punk stops and scratches his chin, trying to keep his cool.

CM Punk:
The bottom line is Iím angry as anyone else would be. Iím angry fí a lot of reasons. Iím angry at several people, Stephanie obviously but also myself fí not seeing it coming. I said since the moment John Cena came tí Smackdown that I could see what Tazz aní the powers that be had in mind. They basically handed him the shot at my world title on a plate. They didnít anticipate the resistance they got though when I led a team tí victory over Cenaís at Survivor Series yet he still wound up with a shot at the world title despite that. Gran'ed he earned it but the fact is the plan was there all along fí John tí walk into Night of Champions as the number one contender, then walk out as the new World Heavyweight Champion.

*Mixed*

CM Punk: Then low aní behold we find ourselves with a new World Champion, only the way it came about. . . well itís what I shouldíve expected. When it comes tí this business, aní even though they like tí think diffírently, the McMahon family aní Stephanie especially, donít have a clue.

*Mixed*

CM Punk: Theyíve not hid the fact that Cenaís their chosen one, the star of the WWE. I shouldíve known that theyíd do whatever they had to tí take the title from around my waist aní put it around his, aní Iím mad at myself that I let it happen. I even let Stephanie hand me a slammy just over a week ago for being the Superstar of the Year, aní had I not it thrown it out Steph, letís just say Iíd be telling you right here right now exactly what you could do with it.

*Some cheers, some boos*

CM Punk: That slammy meant nothing tí me as much as I deserved it. I saw it for the decoy it was tí sweeten me over but I still let Stephanie screw me out of the title I worked my ass off for, tí get it aní then keep it, not that I expect Stephanie or any other McMahon to understand. I might not be the representative they want fí this company aní tí be quite honest, I donít care about that crap. I just wanna be the best, aní thatís what I am, only as I stand here tínight I donít have the title I should have tí prove it, aní thatís down tí one person aní one person only. No, it's not John Cena like it should be now heís the official World Champion. The person responsible is none other than. . .

ďIím all grown up now. . .Ē

To a largely positive reception, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley walks out into the arena, not showing any signs of being intimidated by the furious Punk as she walks down to the ring, carrying a microphone with her while Punk watches her every step of the way.

CM Punk:
Well look who we have here. Yíknow Iím surprised you had the guts t. . .

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: . . . I think youíve said enough Punk don't you?

CM Punk: Yíknow what? Iím actually intrigued tí hear what youíve got tí say Steph. You go ahead. Iíll just stand back like the good little boy you want me tí be.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: If I were you Punk Iíd take a look in the mirror and at what you did Sunday night. Not only did you knock out one referee, you put your hands on the general manager, aní then you put your hands on me, the executive vice-president of this company. You should consider yíself lucky you havenít been fired, but trust me, Iíll have no problem doing just that if you force my hand.

*Pop*

Punk laughs to crowd.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley:
You might think youíre untouchable Punk but trust me youíre not. This attitude of yours is exactly why you donít fit the image of the company you talked about. . .

CM Punk: . . . Just hang on a minute. Like I said, Iím not here tí fit whatever image you have for us superstars. Iím here tí be me aní be the World Heavyweight Champion, which I was until you stuck your nose where it didnít belong aní abused your power in whatever your role is here, mainly being the locker room bike.

Thereís a sharp intake of breath from fans.

CM Punk:
The fact is you screwed me out of the title like you've screwed most of the guys in the back. You made that quick count regardless of what happened tí Tazz aní the referee. You also slapped me remember. Youíre the one in the wrong Steph. Youíre the reason the poster boy of the company has my title, aní conveniently the other world champion on Raw just happens tí be your husband. Is that a co-incidence or is it just me? All I know is youíre throwing your weight around aní Iím not going tí stand for it. You can stand there acting like youíve done the right thing for the company like your dad did all those years ago, which fí the record I agree with by the way, but this, this is diffírent. Iím not walking out of the company tí join the enemy with your title. You did what you did for a reason, a reason thatís totally b-s aní youíre not gonna get away with it. Whether you like it or not Iíve got a rematch clause in my contract aní I will get my title back, aní if you get in the way again, Iíll make sure this time I do put you tí sleep.

*Heat, some cheers*

ďMy Time is NowĒ

The crowd erupts as John Cena hits the stage. The new World Champion doesnít look too happy at all despite his victory Sunday night and is barely holding onto his title as he carries it down to the ring with a microphone too, looking almost guilty as Punk stares at him every step of the way into the ring.

CM Punk:
Hey, West Valley, give it up fí your new World Heavyweight Champion. . . JOHN CE-NA.

*Mixed*

John Cena: Punk, youíve more than had your say dog. Itís my turn aní I think youíll wanna hear what Iíve gotta say.

All three of them look nervously at each other.

John Cena:
Iíve heard all yíhave tí say Punk, not just tínight aní the point I keep cominí back to is this. This whole time youíve said you waníed me to earn my shot at the world title. A couple oíweeks ago I did just that, but Sunday night I didnít earn this (holding up the world title). (Drops the title down again) I came here fí a new challenge, that challenge being tí win the world title fí the first time, aní as much as I waníed tí get my hands on this, this ainít the way I waníed it.

Thereís some more uneasy looks between them.

John Cena:
I bust my ass winning that tournament tí get that shot, aní Steph, Punkís right, you stuck yínose where it didnít belong. Whatever you think of Punk, heís right about somethiní else too, to us this ainít about company image, itís about beiní the best in this ring, night after night week after week.

*Big Pop*

CM Punk: Yíhear that Steph?

Stephanie really doesnít look at all happy.

John Cena:
Tí cut a long story short, (holds the title out) I donít deserve this. As Punkís pointed out time after time, youíve gotta earn the right tí be called the best aní I didnít earn it. Even though I stand here World Champion, I donít waní it this way. It pains me tí do this, but Steph, I donít deserve this. As of this moment Iíve gotta forfeit the title.

*Heat*

Cena steps forward and goes to hand it over to Steph.

CM Punk:
Wow, I never thought Iíd say this John but congratulations. Congratulations on the doing the right thing.

Stephanie flat out refuses to take the title.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley:
Youíre forfeiting the world title? You won the match.

John Cena: We both know thatís not the case Steph. I donít waní it like this aní youíre not gonna change my mind.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: Well John the result stands. . .

?: . . . Just wait a minute.

Tazz, the General Manager of Smackdown is out on the stage and stomps his way down to the ring with all eyes on him.

Tazz:
Look, you donít need me tí tell yíwhat a mess this all is. Whatever happened Sunday weíve gotta sort this out right now, aní the way I see it thereís only one way we can do it. . . John, you wanna forfeit the title? I get what youíre sayiní an I respect your decision.

Tazz walks towards Cena and takes his title with Steph looking on, still not at all happy.

Tazz:
Let me deal with this. Sunday night was a mess aní weíve gotta move on. We need tí make sure we get a worthy champion, aní we will in just over three weeks at the Royal Rumble. There ainít gonna be crap like the other night, weíre gonna make sure thereís a winner. Itís gonna be you two goiní at it, one fall to a finish in a No Holds Barred match.

*Big Pop*

Tazz: I wonít be gettiní involved aní neither will Steph.

CM Punk: Er, can I have that in writing?

Tazz: Thereís no need tí get smart now Punk, aní even after what yídid tí me, Iím gonna fíget about ití Ďcause we need tí move past that, aní we will. Come the Rumble weíll have a winner. Weíll have an undisputed World Heavyweight Champion.

*Pop*

ď13Ē
plays and all four of them look at each other with plenty of tension inside the ring.

In his ring gear, the Cruiserweight Champion, J-Red with his game face on heads through the back on his way to the ring.

Michael Cole:
What an explosive start to the show aní itís about tí get a lot more explosive with the Cruiserweight Champion J-Red in action, defending his title next. Donít go anywhere folks, weíll back in just a few minutes.

*Commercial Break*

Tazz & Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley
are walking backstage, clearly having a frank exchange of words.

Tazz:
What choice did we have? You canít stop Cena forfeitin' the title aní we need a champion, aní as much as you aní I both dislike Punk, heís right. You screwed him out of the title fí the whole world tí see. He might have a big mouth aní his attitude sucks but what you did at Night of Champions, itís wrong. You might not see it that way but like Cena said, no one wants tí win a world title that way. . .

Stephanie stops and doesnít look too happy with Tazz, and the General Manager stops as well, confused as to why sheís stopped walking.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley:
. . . It doesnít matter what anyone thinks. The bottom line is I did what was right fí this company. Punk has done nothing but. . .

Tazz: . . . No one knows what Punkís done more than me, aní if it wasnít fí me Steph, it wouldíve been you not me on the end of that GTS the other night. . .

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: . . . Look Iím grateful fí that but it doesnít change the fact that Punk being World Champion saying the things he has reflects badly on the image of this company. We donít want or need someone like him acting the way has been.

Tazz: I agree that heís said things that he probably shouldnít but thatís no reason tí take the world title off him. Whatever we think of him he deserved tí be World Champion. . .

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: . . . Clearly weíre not going tí agree on this but I suggest what we do now is best deal with the situation we find ourselves in. Iíll accept that the match you made for the Royal Rumble probably isnít a bad idea given the circumstances, but thatís the Rumble. We need tí deal with tínight.

Tazz: What dí yímean?

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: I want both of them ready fí the Rumble, aní that means competing here tínight.

Tazz: That makes sense I guess. You can leave that tí me.

The General Manager walks away from Stephanie, and she doesnít seem all that pleased as she stands still watching him walk up the hallway.

*Match #1*
Cruiserweight Championship
J-Red (c) vs.
Johnny Devine w/Petey Williams

The Cruiserweight Champion started off on fire and his Canadian opponent had no response, but thanks to his tag team partner on the outside, he gave him the chance to get a foothold in the contest. Petey grabbed Red's foot as he hit the ropes, giving Devine the chance to turn the tables and attack from behind as Red & Petey got into it. Red though came back into it but Devine's still in with a chance too, reversing an irish whip to send Red into the ropes. The Cruiserweight Champion comes back and counters with a SATELLITE DDT, TILT-A-WHIRL HEAD-SCISSORS INTO A DDT!!. . . . . Petey looks on nervously on the outside as Red shimmies round to hook the leg the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No! Devine gets his shoulder up to the surprise of many including Red but not Petey as he turns to the crowd with a smug smile on his face. Red takes it on the chin and goes back to work with Devine just about managing to lift his head up off the mat with his eyes all over the place. Red sees he's struggling and stands back up, then heads over to the ropes, stepping through onto the apron.

The fans cheer as the smile's wiped from Petey's face as Red looks round at him, smiling before turning back to Devine, watching him as he struggles back up to his feet. The Canadian makes it up looking unsteady on his feet with Red launching into action, hitting the springboard for the RED ALERT, A DIVING SWINGING REVERSE STO!!!. . . . . Petey flips on the outside, knowing it's over as Red shifts across the mat on his hands & knees to make the cover with the crowd counting along with the ref. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3.

Red's music hits and he stands up with the crowd cheering as the referee goes to get his cruiserweight title, bringing it back to him and passing it to him. Red lifts his title into the air and the ref raises his arm too as Devine rolls out of the ring, leaving Red to celebrate his win, heading to the corner and climbing up to the second rope, enjoying his victory with the fans still cheering the Cruiserweight Champion.

Winner: J-Red by pinfall.

Michael Cole: Yet again, J-Red impresses here on Smackdown.

Matt Striker: He never fails to disappoint Michael. To come off the back of a hard fought victory at Night of Champions and put in a performance like that tínight shows just how good this kid is. He sure looks like having a bright future on Smackdown in 2009.

Elijah Burke and his fiancťe, Layla are in their locker room, about to get a little frisky it would seem, just as their close friends, the United States Champion & King of the Ring, Matt Sydal walks in with his girlfriend, Mickie James.

Matt Sydal:
Whoa, I think we might be interrupting something here Mick.

Burke turns round and he pulls away from Layla, smiling at his buddy.

Elijah Burke:
Hey, how you doiní bro? Congrats on the win Sundíy night by the way.

Matt Sydal: Thanks man, I thought weíd see you there. You been busy or somethiní?

Burke turns to Layla, and she has a big smile on her face, looking like she wants to spill.

Layla:
As it happens, we have some news.

Mickie James: Really?. . . Oh my god youíre not pregnant are you?

Layla: No donít be silly.

Mickie James: So what is it then?

Layla: Weíve set a date.

Mickie jumps up & down and goes to hug Layla.

Mickie James:
Congratulations.

They pull away as Sydal shakes his friendís hand and Mickie & Layla let go.

Matt Sydal:
Thatís great news.

Mickie James: So whenís the big day?

Layla: Youíll love this, itís Valentineís Day.

Mickie James: Oh how romantic.

Layla: I know right. . . Ďlijah baby, havenít you got something you need to ask Matt?

Elijah Burke: Yeah but I was gonna wait Ďtil after the show, but since youíre here, howíd yífancy beiní by best man?

Matt Sydal: Sure, Iíd love tí do it.

Elijah Burke: Sweet.

Mickie & Layla look at them, slightly bemused by their lack of excitement compared to theirs.

Mickie James:
Wow, very enthusiastic guys. . . Oh, how about we all go out after the show aní celebrate?

Layla: Oh thatís a great idea. What dí yíthink baby?

Elijah Burke: Fine by me girl.

Mickie James: Great weíre on then.

Matt Sydal: Hey Mick, are you ready? Iíve got my match now, you cominí?

Mickie James: Er, actually do you mind if I stay here aní talk wedding stuff with the bride t' be?

Matt Sydal: Yeah I guess.

Elijah Burke: Itís cool bro, Iíll come with ya, let these girls talk. I donít really fancy a headache.

Layla: Heyyyyyyyy.

Elijah Burke: You know Iím playiní girl. You two have fun, weíll catch yíin a bit.

Matt Sydal: Yeah, weíll see you soon.

Sydal & Burke walk up to their girls and give them a quick kiss before leaving the locker room and the excitable Layla & Mickie behind.

Mickie James:
So whatíve you decided so far?

Layla: Well. . .

The camera fades out and we go to a commercial break.

From Last Week

Non-Title Match
Matt Sydal w/Mickie James vs. Dolph Ziggler

As they both then made their way up, Sydal went to the corner, climbing up to the top rope and connected with a double knee takedown, holding onto Zigglerís legs for the cover. Dolph kicked out, but as he made his way back up, this time he didnít escape the enzuigiri into a head-scissors takedown. The King of the Ring had Ziggler where he wanted him and went up top for the Shooting Star Press, but he didnít count on Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez walking down the ramp. His Night of Champions opponent got his attention and Sydal looked towards him with concern, forgetting about Ziggler lying beneath him.

The Mexican gestured towards Sydal, allowing Ziggler time to come round, and by the time Sydal went for the Shooting Star Press, Ziggler had time to bring his knees up into the gut of the United States Champion. Ziggler jumped up in a flash and grabbed the staggering Sydal to plant him with the Zig Zag, pulling him away from the ropes to make the cover and pick up somewhat of a shock win, met with a big smile on Del Rio-Ramirezís face. Dolph got his arm raised and quickly left the ring all smug, taunting the fans as the Mexican then walked round to the timekeeperís table.

*Match #2*
Non-Title Match
Matt Sydal w/Elijah Burke
vs. Dolph Ziggler

The United States Champion was quick to start but Ziggler has grown into the match, showing some real determination to get back-to-back victories over Sydal on Smackdown. He finds himself on top, ducking an enzuigiri attempt from the King of the Ring. Both men rush back up to their feet and Sydal turns to run the ropes, bouncing back into a falling clothesline from Ziggler. The fans don't like that and neither does Sydal's concerned buddy, Elijah Burke on the outside.

He shows him support, trying to encourage him as a fired-up Ziggler makes his way back with his eyes locked on Sydal. He watches intently as Sydal gets to his knees and runs behind him into the ropes, coming off them to take him down into the mat with a bulldog. Sydal's head is driven into the canvas and Ziggler isn't done, standing back up, again watching Sydal's every move. As Sydal tries to get up onto all fours, Ziggler strikes with a LEG DROP BULLDOG!!. . . . . Sydal's head hits the mat again and Ziggler scurries across in a hurry to turn him over onto his back and make a cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No! Sydal just about gets his shoulder up and the crowd cheer as Burke breathes a sigh of relief in his friend's corner. Ziggler sits up and runs his hands through his hair, not at all happy, showing his frustration as he stands back up and urges Sydal to get back up. Slowly the United States Champion claws his way back up, oblivious to Ziggler chomping at the bit behind him to put him away. Sydal looks unsteady as he gets to his feet and Dolph approaches from behind, jumping up for the ZIG ZAG!!!. . . . .

No, Sydal steps forward and Ziggler falls to the deck. The fans cheer as the King of the Ring carries on into the ropes and turns back to see his opponent getting to his knees. Sydal steps through the ropes and climbs up to the top rope as Ziggler makes it back up, but as he turns round, Sydal comes off the top for a JUMPING DOUBLE KNEE TAKEDOWN!!. . . . . He forces Ziggler down to the mat and holds on for the cover as the ref rushes across to make the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

No, kick out from Ziggler! Burke shows some disappointment for his buddy as both Sydal & Ziggler race back up. Sydal ducks a wild clothesline and drills Ziggler with a TORNADO DDT!!!. . . . . It's got to be over and Sydal thinks so too. Ziggler's out of it and Sydal hooks the leg as the ref runs across the mat to make the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

NO! Ziggler, just & only just gets his shoulder up to the shock of the United States Champion. Sydal sits up holding his head in his hands but looks up to the top rope and flies back into action, dragging the lifeless carcass of Ziggler towards the corner before heading all the way to the summit with the fans cheering. Burke gets behind him again as Sydal looks into the stands for a brief second with the fans going nuts. He leaps up into the air and comes down on Dolph for the SHOOTING STAR PRESS!!!. . . . . But no, Ziggler rolls into the corner and Sydal crash lands on the canvas to the shock of Burke and the fans.

Burke can't believe it, and along with the fans he watches as both men sit up having been put through it and showing the effects of the match. Ziggler looks the worst of the two as he uses the ropes to help him up, and with Sydal getting up too, they turn to face each other. Ziggler's pissed and charges at Sydal, but the United States Champion leans back for a SUPER KICK!!!. . . . . No, Ziggler ducks it and reacts in a flash, jumping up off the mat to HIT THE ZIG ZAG!!!. . . . . He got it this time and Sydal's down. Dolph wastes no time in going for the cover, game face on as he hooks both legs for the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

Ziggler wins, pinning Sydal for the second straight week! He leans back on his knees, nodding his head before standing up to get his arm raised by the referee with "I Am Perfection" playing. Burke slides in the ring to check on Sydal as Ziggler looks down at Sydal squirming with a smug smirk on his face.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler by pinfall.

Michael Cole:
Another impressive outing for Dolph Ziggler tínight aní thatís now back-to-back wins here on Smackdown over Sydal, aní as we know Matt, thatís no mean fete given the year that Sydalís had.

Matt Striker: Absolutely. Matt Sydalís had an incredible year, winning the King of the Ring then the United States title, but recently Zigglerís been able to string tígether some impressive victories. If he can keep it going he might be in for a year like Sydalís had this one.

The shot goes to the back where we see John Cena all set for action, walking with purpose through the production area.

Michael Cole:
When we come back, the one aní only John Cena will be in action. Donít go anywhere.

*Commercial Break*

Walking through the back with some serious swagger is Dolph Ziggler, looking incredibly full of himself as he walks past the interview set and Josh Matthews. Josh sees him goes by as he talks with a backstage worker and he takes notice of Ziggler.

Josh Matthews:
Excuse me, Dolph. Could I get a quick word with you?

Ziggler stops in his tracks and turns back, walking towards Josh.

Dolph Ziggler:
How about I give you a few words Josh? How about I remind you what Iíve done the last few weeks? Three weeks ago I booked my place in the final of the number one contender tournament for the World Heavyweight Championship in a match that included Shawn Michaels, aní even though that didnít work out the way I intended, last week I beat Matt Sydal. Tínight I did it again. I beat Matt Sydal again, the breakout star of the year, the 2008 King of the Ring aní the guy evíryone round here talks about like heís some kind of superhero. He might be this incredible underdog thatís had an unbelievable year but guess what? Weíre at the end of this year, aní the next time he gets in the ring with me he'll be the underdog, aní mark my words Josh, we will meet again aní this time his United States titleís gonna be on the line. Not just that, he really will be the underdog, but this time itís not gonna have the happy ending heís had this year. Itís gonna end the same way it has the last two weeks with him flat on his back in the middle of the ring the loser aní yours truly the winner aní the new United States Champion. . . I mightíve missed out on the world title but I will beat Sydal again aní take his title. Is that alright fí you Josh?

Josh Matthews: Yeah, thanks.

Ziggler smirks, very laid back as he turns round again and heads off into the night.

*Match #3*
John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez

The now former World Champion met some stubborn resistance from the Mexican, using some underhand tactics to take control of the match, and Cena's struggling now with Del Rio-Ramirez looking determined to get a big victory under his belt. Cena climbs his way back up and Del Rio-Ramirez is right on him, hammering him with right hands, forcing him back into the corner. He doesn't let up and stomps him in the gut, then hammers away at him again with forearm shots to the face.

Cena's dazed and the Mexican backs away, retreating to the opposite corner. He taunts the crowd, lifting both arms up before charging across the ring, nailing Cena with a STEP-UP ENZUIGIRI!!. . . . . Del Rio-Ramirez steps back as Cena staggers out into his path all groggy, walking right into a SINGLE ARM DDT!!. . . . . The Mexican drills Cena's head into the mat and goes for the cover in a flash. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

Cena gets his shoulder up and Del Rio-Ramirez is furious. He can't believe it and questions the ref's count. He gets short shrift, leaving him no choice but to get back up and he urges Cena to get up. He looks like he's about to explode with fury as Cena unwittingly claws his way back up, unaware of what's waiting for him with the fans trying to warn him. Del Rio-Ramirez loses it and can't wait any longer, dragging him up from his knees and lifts him up onto his shoulders for a FIREMAN'S CARRY DOUBLE KNEE GUT-BUSTER!!. . . . . Cena fights back though with shots to the head with his elbow, swinging desperately but it works as he slips down to his feet.

The Mexican turns round into a right hand and Cena follows it up with a SPIN-OUT POWER-BOMB!!. . . . . The fans cheer as Cena tries to get some momentum going, watching Del Rio-Ramirez as he makes his way back up. Cena runs past him into the ropes and comes back to take him down with a ONE ARM BULLDOG!!. . . . . Again the fans cheer with some boos mixed in as the Mexican turns over onto his back and Cena prepares for the FIVE KNUCKLE SHUFFLE!!. . . . . Cena comes back off the ropes and hits it to another loud reaction, largely positive as he this time taunts his opponent, watching him struggle back up to his feet.

The Mexican's reeling and turns round into Cena, walking right into the F-U!!!. . . . . Cena sends him crashing down to the canvas and jumps right on him, setting him up & applying the STFU!!!. . . . . Del Rio-Ramirez screams out in pain with the fans going nuts and Cena torturing him, doing everything to make him tap, and eventually he does to a big pop. Cena stands back up all serious, getting his arm raised by the referee with the majority of the fans cheering as he walks over to the ropes and looks into the stands, showing brief signs of a smile, still carrying the burden of the events from earlier on & Night of Champions.

Winner: John Cena by submission.

Michael Cole:
John Cena picks up the victory tínight, aní later on the man heíll meet in three weeks at the Royal Rumble for the world title, CM Punk will look tí do the same when he goes one-on-one with someone whoís caused a bit of a stir in recent weeks, Shawn Michaelsí protťgť, Bryan Danielson.

ĎCaptain Charismaí Christian is shown in his street clothes walking through the halls of the arena, looking all business.

Michael Cole:
We heard earlier tíday that Christian would be here tínight after making his return tí Smackdown last week aní it looks like he has something he wants tí get off his chest aní weíll find out what when we come back after the break.

*Video Recap*
From Last Week

John Cena vs. Edge

Edge was quickly getting very angry and stalked Cena for a Spear, but as he ran at him, Cena countered with a drop toe hold to lock in the STFU to a loud mixed reception. Edge held on for dear life, flat out refusing to tap. Cena furiously kept the pressure applied, but to his credit, The Rated-R Superstar fought his way to the ropes. Cena didnít want to let go of the hold but had no chance and quickly shifted gear, getting ready for an F-U.

Edge though fought his way down and pushed Cena forward, accidentally into the referee before Cena down with a reverse DDT, but there was nobody to make the count, leaving Edge furious. He couldnít believe it and eventually retreated to the corner, once again getting ready to take Cena down with the Spear. To everyoneís shock, ĒIf You Close Your EyesĒ hit and Christian walked out to the stage to a deafening pop.

He stared down intently at the stunned Edge, then charged down the ramp with Edge getting ready to throw himself at him. Christian slid in the ring and ducked a wild clothesline before slugging it out with his brother who put him on the shelf at Survivor Series, and it was Captain Charisma who managed to do what Edge couldnít and hit a Spear. His music hit again as he glared down at his brother just lying there before leaving the ring, still not satisfied as he headed back up the ramp and to the back as Cena sat up in a state of confusion, seeing Edge and the referee down.

_____________________________________________

ďGO. . . If you close your eyes. . .Ē

The crowd rise to their feet and go nuts for Christian as he strolls out to the stage, walking to the side and gazing into the crowd and nodding his head, looking very happy to be back. He sets off down the ramp, still getting a great reaction as he gets to the steps and enters the ring, picking a microphone up off the apron in the process. He walks into the ring and towards the corner, climbing up to the second rope, again gazing into the cheering crowd before stepping down and walking into the centre of the ring. His music cuts and it brings out the cheers even more as he smiles, clearly appreciating the reaction.

Christian:
Just in case anyone doesnít see whatís going on here, Captain Charisma is back.

*Big Pop*

Christian: Iím good tí go, Iím back aní Iím back fí one reason. If you caught the show last week youíll know what or who that reason is. That being by gutless coward of a brother, Edge.

*Ton of Boos*

Christian: Iím not gonna beat around the bush, Iím gonna get right tí the point. Thanks to Adam I was out of action almost two months aní without knowing it at the time I missed out on the chance tí fight fí the shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions. Thatís why I came back here in the first place aní thanks to the best brother in the world a guy could wish for I didnít get the chance tí do what Iíve dreamed of all my life, but yíknow what peeps? Itís cool. Iíve had a lot oítime tí think things through while Iíve been laid up at home aní Iíve got it all worked out. Weíre at the end of this year but thereís that special time of the year coming soon. . . that being the road tí WrestleMania.

*More Cheers*

Christian: What I didnít know last week was what we found out on Raw the other night about the WWE title beiní on the line in the Royal Rumble. You can bet yíbottom dollar Iíve got my eyes on that aní going tí WrestleMania as a world champion, but right now thereís something I need tí do, aní I came tí do it tínight.

*Huge Pop*

Christian: I came here tínight tí get my hands on my coward of a brother fí taking me out like he did at Survivor Series, but given how he took me out I donít hold out much hope heíll man up aní have the balls to accept my challenge to a match later on right here later on t'night in West Valley.

*More Cheers*

Christian: Iím guessing if he does come out heíll have some kind of excuse, not just because heís a coward but because the last time we met at SummerSlam I beat him one two three in the middle of this very ring.

*Pop*

Christian: Thatís why he has tí resort to attacking me from behind like he did a couple of months ago but Iím back bro aní whether yílike it or not Iím cominí for ya, aní if you wanna prove youíre not gutless youíll. . .

ďMetalingusĒ

A ton of heat greets Edge as he slowly walks out into the arena with a microphone in hand, staring angrily down at Christian in the ring, and Captain Charisma stares right back at him. The music stops as they carry on glaring at each other, both furious.

Christian:
Iíve gotta admit Iím surprised tí see you bring your ass out here Adam but Iím glad so I can say this tí your face. Iíve waited a long time tí say it but here it goes bro, I want your ass in this ring tínight aní Iím not taking no fí an answer.

*Big Pop*

Edge: Well bro, I hate tí disappoint you but you donít always get what you want.

*Heat*

Edge: You can think what you want C but this match of yours, itís not gonna happen.

*More Heat*

Edge: Itís not gonna happen because Iím a coward but itís not gonna happen Ďcause I donít wanna do you any more damage. See I know how bad I hurt you at Survivor Series aní Iím pretty sure youíre nowhere near a hundred percent. . .

Christian: . . . Donít give me that crap. You couldnít give a ratís ass about how my back is. If you could take me out youíd do it like that, just like you did when you took me out the first time. Would it help if I turned my back for ya, would it?

Edge: Hey, it looks like youíve got a short memory. Do I need tí rewind tí last week aní how you jumped me? Yeah, youíre a hypocrite C aní I want ya tí know that what happened at Survivor Series, it wasnít personal. It was just business. It wasnít about you. It was about making sure Cena didnít beat us aní get the shot at the world title, but if I were you Iíd be careful what you wish for. You mightíve got lucky at SummerSlam but that wonít happen again. It was a one off. You got lucky, aní as fí me blaminí me fí you not having a shot in the world title tournament, I wouldnít worry about that. You donít stand a chance of ever been a world champion. You can get that out of yíhead right now.

*Heat*

Christian: Oh Iím not thinking about the world title right now. The only thing Iím thinking about is if I ever remember a time growing up when you had balls.

*Pop*

Christian: ĎCause if you did Adam you wouldnít be standing there making up all these b-s excuses when the only reason you wonít accept my challenge is because youíve not got a pair.

Edge: It sounds like you really wanna do this?

Christian: Oh yeah, more than you can imagine.

Edge: Fine, you want it tínight? You got it but you're gonna regret it.

Christian looks shocked as his angry brother stares down at him before turning round and walking to the back. Captain Charisma turns to the crowd and smiles with ďIf You Close Your EyesĒ playing again.

Michael Cole:
Well Matt it appears weíre in for quite a treat later on when Christian aní Edge meet one-on-one here on the final Smackdown of 2008.

Weíre shown footage of Paul London & Brian Kendrick dressed for action and walking through the back, then the new WWE Tag Team Champions, The Empire with William Regal & Katie Lee carrying the Union Jack doing the same as they prepare to meet in a non-title match.

Michael Cole:
In just a few minutes weíll get our first glimpse of the new tag team champions, Wade Barrett aní Drew McIntyre when they take on the reunited duo of Paul London aní Brian Kendrick. You wonít want tí miss it folks, donít go anywhere.

*Video Recap*
From Night of Champions last Sunday!

Drew makes it back up by his corner and tags in Barrett who wastes no time in stepping through the ropes as Burchill just about makes it back up to his feet. Barrett urges him turn round, taunting his fellow Englishman, and as Burchill turns round, Barrett lifts him up off his feet and into position for THE WASTELAND!!!. . . . . Or so he thinks as Burchill slips down his back to safety, surprising the hell out of Barrett who turns round into a stomp to the gut and the C4 OUT OF NOWHERE!!!. . . . . The fans are cheering like mad as Burchill goes for the cover straight away, hooking the leg as the ref hurries round to count the fall. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

. . . . . 3?

McIntyre breaks it up with a desperate diving axe handle to the back of Burchillís head, getting a ton of heat from the crowd. The refís livid, as is Harry as he stands up from checking on the groggy TJ. The ref gets right in McIntyreís face and ushers the unapologetic & uncooperative Scot back to the corner, but he stands his ground as both Burchill & Barrett sit up. Regal takes something out of his jacket pocket and slides whatever it is across the mat towards Barrett who picks the object up. He then slides it onto his knuckles, clearly proving itís brass knucks with the fans trying to warn Burchill as both men make it up to their knees.

Smith sees whatís happening and jumps up onto the apron, trying to tell the ref whatís going on. The ref tells him to get down as Burchill turns round to face Barrett who NAILS HIM IN THE FACE WITH THE BRASS KNUCKS!!!. . . . . The fans boo like mad as Barrett takes them off his hand and puts them in his trunks as Regal runs round and pulls Harry down off the apron, going at it with him as Katie & Natalya also slug it out. With Burchill flat out, Barrett drops to his knees and makes the cover with the fans booing the refís count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

. . . . . 3?

YES, WE HAVE NEW WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!. . . . . A chorus of boos ring out in the arena as TJ just fails to break the count, still hurt but looking devastated as he lies across the mat. ďBritanniaĒ hits as McIntyre joins Barrett in the ring, as do Regal & Katie with Harry & Natalya looking on furiously from the outside. Harry drives his fists into the apron as The Empire are handed what are now their tag team title belts, proudly raising them into the air with Katie going to get the Union Jack. She waves it emphatically behind the new champions with the fans continuing to boo the Brits who look down laughing at the fallen now former champions.

They then leave the ring all smiles, looking back as they back up the ramp with the titles in their possession. Harry & Natalya join TJ & Burchill in the ring as Burchill comes round, not knowing whatís happened but he sees The Empire laughing in their direction, raising the titles again with the crowd still booing. The UK Pack, Wilson & Natalya all stare furiously up at the remorseless new champions, Regal & Katie who stand there with the titles raised high into the air, and thereís no way itís over for these two teams.

_____________________________________________

ďBritanniaĒ is playing and William Regal & Katie Lee enter the ring with Katie still carrying the Union Jack. They get some heat from the fans as Regal walks towards Justin Roberts and borrows a microphone. The music stops as he looks into the crowd with a big smile on his face, not bothered by the boos coming from the crowd.

William Regal:
Ladies and gentleman, it gives me the sincerest pleasure to introduce you to the new WWE Tag Team Champions. . . representing The Empire, Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett.

ďBritanniaĒ plays again to more heat and the new WWE Tag Team Champions, Wade Barrett & Drew McIntyre walk out to the stage and lift their titles up into the air to a barrage of boos from the fans with Regal & Katie clapping their fellow Brits in the ring. The new champs head down to the ring shrugging off the boos from the fans without a care in the world, laughing at them before joining their fellow Empire stable mates in the ring, shaking hands with them. They again pose with their titles, this time by the ropes.

ďHey YouĒ blasts out to a big pop, bringing the championsí showing off to a halt as Paul London & Brian Kendrick race out to the stage, running to opposite sides. The Empire look on disapprovingly from the ring as the fans go nuts for the recently reunited duo whoíve been on a roll of successive wins in the past few weeks. They make their way down the ramp all focused, looking at their opponents as they head up the steps and into the ring, showing no signs of being intimidated by the new champions.

*Match #4*
Non-Title Match
Paul London & Brian Kendrick
vs. The Empire w/William Regal & Katie Lee

If the new champions didn't know beforehand that they weren't going to have it easy in their first match as champions, they did after a few minutes. London & Kendrick have been up for this since the start, giving The Empire one hell of a fight. McIntyre's reeling as London looks to keep the momentum going, heading up to the top rope as McIntyre makes it back up. With the crowd willing London on, he comes off the top rope for a DIVING CROSS BODY!!. . . . . He takes the Scot down and holds on for a cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

Drew comfortably kicks out and picks himself back up with London racing to his feet and waiting for his opponent to get up. He sends him right back down with a DROPSAULT!. . . . . The fans cheer again as London jumps on McIntyre as he gets back up, not giving him a second to drill him with a LEG-SWEEP DDT!!. . . . . It's getting a bit loud as London goes straight for the cover with the fans counting as the ref makes his count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No, Barrett breaks up the count, storming the ring and stamping on the back on London's head. Boos ring around the arena as the ref stands up and orders Barrett out of the ring. He calmly heads back to the apron with a smug look on his face, and as he steps back through the ropes, both McIntyre & London start to crawl to their respective corners. The fans show London some support as he edges closer towards Kendrick, but it's McIntyre who makes the tag to Barrett. The Englishman races through the ropes and to the opposite corner, just as London jumps up to tag in Kendrick. Barrett fires a right hand at him but Kendrick blocks it and hits him with a forearm from over the rope.

Kendrick sends him staggering away and heads up to the top rope, and as Barrett turns round, Kendrick hits him with a DIVING DOUBLE FOOT STOMP!!. . . . . The volume's picking up again and he watches closely as Barrett back tracks towards the corner, using the ropes to get back up. Kendrick runs in at him straight away, connecting with a CORNER BACK-FLIP DROPKICK!!. . . . . He lands on his feet and Barrett staggers out into a kick to the gut from Kendrick, and he sets him up for SLICED BREAD!!!. . . . .

The fans make even more noise as Kendrick runs into the corner and hits the springboard, but Barrett throws him down to the mat, drawing some boos from the stands. Barrett takes the chance to get his breath back as Kendrick claws his way back up, and as he turns round Barrett explodes with a FALLING CLOTHESLINE!!. . . . . Barrett sits up and stares down angrily at Kendrick who's feeling the pain. The Englishman takes his time getting back up with his eyes locked on Kendrick, and he drags him back up, scissoring him between his legs. He stares into the crowd before lifting him up off his feet and above his head for a POWER-BOMB!!!. . . . . The fans can only watch on nervously as Barrett slams him down into the canvas, sitting out to hold on for a cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No! Barrett can't believe it as Kendrick gets his shoulder up, getting a massive pop from the crowd. Barrett stands up furiously and brings Kendrick with him, lifting him up onto his shoulders for the WASTELAND!!!. . . . . Barrett turns round to face London and talks smack at him as Kendrick and fights back, driving his elbow into Barrett's head, jumping down to safety. Barrett can't believe it and swings his arm at him furiously, but Kendrick ducks and stomps him in the gut, pulls Barrett's head into his body and under his arm. With the fans cheering he runs into the ropes and hits a springboard for a CYCLONE DDT!!!. . . . . The fans love it, and so does London as he watches Kendrick scurry across on his hands & knees to make the cover, full of hope as the ref rushes across to make the count with the fans joining in. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3?

NO! McIntyre breaks it up, pulling Kendrick off of Barrett to a ton of heat. London snaps and hits the ring, gunning for the Scot, but the referee stands up and blocks London off. The fans boo like crazy as he orders him back to the apron, but London refuses, getting into it with him. McIntyre watches, laughing at London as Kendrick picks himself back up and goes after Drew himself shoving him in the gut. The Scot shakes his head and shoves him back, harder, resulting in a slap from Kendrick.

Regal & Katie can't believe it, and neither can McIntyre who goes for a wild clothesline on the intense Kendrick, but he ducks and takes the Scot's head off with a SUPER KICK!!!. . . . . McIntyre hits the deck and rolls out of the ring while the ref continues dealing with London, but as Barrett sits up, Katie slides the Union Jack into the ring and his path. He picks it up and stands up as Kendrick watches Drew down to the floor, but a huge pop breaks out as the former champions, Paul Burchill & TJ Wilson race down the ramp.

Wilson jumps onto the apron, pissing Barrett off no end as Natalya Neidhart & Harry Smith also make their way down the ramp. Smith's still on crutches but Natalya runs the rest of the way as Regal & Katie go for Burchill & Wilson. Burchill knocks Regal down and Natalya does the same to Katie as the ref goes over to TJ on the apron. Barrett sees Kendrick stand up and turns his attention back to his opponent, and with the ref's back turned, he runs at him swinging the Union Jack, but Kendrick ducks it and London runs across as they both nail BARRETT AS HE TURNS ROUND WITH A DOUBLE SUPER KICK!!!. . . . . The crowd erupts as London kicks the flag out of the ring and TJ drops down off the apron, allowing the ref to run over and count the fall as the fans again join in. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3?

YES!

"Hey You" blasts out to a massive pop with London & Kendrick sharing a big guy hug, punching the air before hitting the corners to celebrate their upset victory with the excited crowd as The UK Pack back away laughing. McIntyre sits up on the outside in shock, not sure what happened, but Regal & Katie are seething as they sit up, staring at the UK & Canadian combination smirking back at them. London & Kendrick jump down and hit the opposite corners to continue celebrating as Barrett starts to stir, glaring up at The UK Pack on the ramp who show no sympathy whatsoever for the new champions who stole their titles at Night of Champions.

Winners: Paul London & Brian Kendrick by pinfall.

Michael Cole:
Well The UK Pack definitely got some payback fí what happened Sunday night at Night of Champions but what a big victory that is fí Paul London aní Brian Kendrick.

Matt Striker: It certainly is. Each aní evíry week they look more aní more like the team they were a couple of years ago but right now our new tag team champions donít look as happy as they did when they came out here. I have a feeling theyíll be out fí blood after this.

*Commercial Break*

Paul Burchill, Harry Smith, TJ Wilson & Natalya Neidhart
are walking back through the production area, still not completely happy after what went down before the break when they're stopped by Josh Matthews walking towards them.

Josh Matthews:
Guys can I get a few words with you about what just happened with The Empire. . .

Paul Burchill: . . . What just happened Josh was the start of us getting back the titles they stole from us at Night of Champions. They're the ones that like to play dirty, t'night we played by their rules so t' speak, however unlike them we're not gutless or cheats.

?: HEY.

The camera pans to the side and all four members of The Empire are heading towards them furiously.

Wade Barrett:
You're gonna be sorry f' what just happened out there. You're nothing but sore losers. We're the champions now, deal with it.

Harry Smith: Oh we'll deal with it alright.

Smith goes for Barrett despite his ankle boot but a group of officials hit the scene and jump in-between the two of them and the rest of the groups.

Harry Smith:
You're the ones going t' be sorry. We'll get those titles back, I promise you.

Wade Barrett: We'll see about that.

*Match #5*
Beth Phoenix & Maria
vs. Michelle McCool & O.D.B.

McCool was not a happy birdie as she walked out into the arena after her defeat to Beth at Night of Champions but her partner was without a care in the world. O.D.B. has been putting Maria through a world of pain, but somehow Maria just managed to get her shoulder up at two after a running power-slam. O.D.B. stands up, looking almost impressed with Maria's resilience before bringing her back up, casually lifting her up into place for the FIREMAN'S CARRY CUTTER!!!. . . . .

Maria though slips down her back to safety before O.D.B. can set her up. She looks stunned as Maria back tracks to the ropes in desperation to escape. O.D.B. isn't as sympathetic this time and runs right at her, but Maria fights back again with a raised boot to the face that sends her opponent staggering away in a spin. Maria has the fans on her side and with the adrenaline she runs out behind her and plants O.D.B. with a BULLDOG!!. . . . . She sends her opponent's head into the mat and goes for a cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

No, kick out from O.D.B. Maria's not happy, looking very disappointed as she tiredly leans back on her knees, still suffering. She slowly stands up, but O.D.B. grabs her boot and drags her down to the mat. They both then make their way back up with O.D.B. firing Maria into the corner, eyes fixed on her before running in at her for a BODY AVALANCHE!!. . . . . No, Maria sidesteps it and drops to her knees as O.D.B. jumps into the pads. The fans cheer as Maria starts to crawl towards her corner with Beth desperate to get in as O.D.B. crawls across the mat to her corner & McCool.

Beth & McCool stare across at each other as their partners make the tags to bring them into the match, drawing a pop from the fans as they run at each other. The Diva's champion ducks a clothesline and hammers away at McCool, then fires her into the ropes. McCool comes back and is sent down thanks to a DOUBLE AXE HANDLE FROM THE GLAMAZON!!. . . . . McCool's not down for long though and Beth shows off her strength, lifting McCool up off the mat for a GORILLA PRESS!!!. . . . .

The fans cheer and O.D.B. & Maria look on, impressed by Beth's strength before she drops McCool, stepping forward as the former number one contender falls to the canvas. Beth looks relaxed, but as she turns back to McCool to pick her back up, O.D.B. senses trouble and hits the ring. She runs up behind Beth and clubs her across the back, sending her falling forward towards the ropes. The fans boo and the referee isn't happy either, letting O.D.B. know, not that she cares as she locks her eyes on Beth who uses the ropes to help her back up.

The Diva's Champion turns round and sees O.D.B. charges at her, but Beth sees her coming and holds down the top rope to send her falling down to the floor below to a decent pop. Maria looks relieved too as Beth turns her attention back to the struggling McCool, walking up behind her and setting her up for the GRAND SLAM!!!. . . . . McCool's lifted up off her feet and screams out, knowing what's coming but she can't stop it as Beth drives her into the mat to a big pop. The Diva's Champion coolly turns her over and makes the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

"Glamazon" hits and Beth sits up looking very relaxed as Maria joins her in the ring an excited figure as they both get their arms raised once Beth's slowly stood up. O.D.B. doesn't look happy as she sits up on the floor and as Maria applauds her partner who gets her diva's title handed to her. Beth walks towards the ropes and poses with the title, lifting it up into the air. O.D.B. really doesn't look pleased as she stands up and rolls back in the ring behind Maria. The fans try to warn her but it's too late as O.D.B. spins her round and head-butts her down to the mat. Beth turns round, shocked to see her there and goes across to check on Maria and gets in the remorseless O.D.B.'s face who just laughs back in hers and leaves the ring with her flask, looking back at the angry Diva's Champion without a care in the world, not showing any signs of being intimidated by her.

Winners: Beth Phoenix & Maria by pinfall.

Michael Cole:
The Glamazon might have got another win to add to her victory Sunday at Night of Champions but it looks sheís not enjoying it tínight like she did a few nights ago thanks to O.D.B.

Matt Striker: Well Michael, O.D.B. has shown us a number of things since coming to Smackdown. One, she has no shame, aní two sheís not scared of anyone, aní I think that includes the Divaís Champion, but I can assure you that Beth won't be afraid of her either.

A split screen featuring Edge & Christian, both in their ring gear and looking fired-up on their way to the ring is shown.

Michael Cole:
When we come back people, weíre going to witness something very special. . . When we come back itíll be Christian aní Edge one-on-one, here on Smackdown. Whatever you do donít go anywhere. You canít afford tí miss this.

*Commercial Break*

*Match #6*
Christian vs. Edge

Edge waits in the ring, eyes fixed firmly on Christian as he too stares at his brother, walking down to ringside and up the steps. Captain Charisma turns and looks into the crowd that cheer the Canadian, but Edge catches him off guard by running across the mat and sends him off the apron, barging him off it and crashing into the security wall. Christian's music cuts and the fans boo Edge as the opportunistic superstar slides out of the ring and puts the boots to his brother, getting even more heat. The Rated-R Superstar relents and looks into the stands, not at all sorry for what he's doing, and he's not done.

He bends down and helps his brother up from his knees to send him crashing into the ring-post. Again the fans boo Edge but he again shows no remorse as he simply stares down sadistically at his brother who's not moving. Edge looks up and towards the announce table, walking towards it as the referee tries to stop him, but it's hopeless as Edge strips it as Christian starts to stir. The fans boo as Edge shoves the ref aside and goes back after his brother, pulling him from the floor and grabbing hold of his tights and tossing him into the base of the table to yet more loud boos from the crowd.

He menacingly walks across again as Christian lifts his head up off the floor, and as he does so he sees one of the monitors Edge tossed aside right next to him. Edge stops & looks at Cole & Striker who plead with him not to do anything crazy, but as he looks back down at Christian, he tries to pull him up, but he gets a shock as Christian stands up and DRIVES THE MONITOR INTO EDGE'S FACE!!!. . . . . The fans go nuts as Christian, full of rage glares down at his brother, breathing heavily and drops the monitor. Edge is down & out but Christian turns to the fans, feeding off the cheers as he drags his motionless brother up off the floor and shoves him onto the stripped announce table.

The fans are on their feet now and it's deafening as Christian joins his brother on the table, again helping him up, setting him up for the KILL-SWITCH, AND HE HITS IT, SENDING BOTH MEN CRASHING THROUGH THE TABLE TO AN ALMIGHTY POP!!!. . . . . The fans love it as Christian tries to sit up, struggling to do so as Edge lies their flat on his back not moving a muscle. The ref runs over to check on Edge as Christian sits up, looking remorselessly at his brother as "Just Close Your Eyes" hits. Captain Charisma stands up in the wreckage and stands over Edge, staring down intensely at him, still not moving.

Result: Non-Starter.

Michael Cole:
If you thought these brothers had problems before tínight, you can be sure itís not going tí get any better after this.

Matt Striker: Christian sure has made a statement tínight Michael but if weíve learnt one thing over the years, making Edge angry is something you may come to regret. Letís hope that Christian hasn't made that same mistake.

ďSexy BoyĒ

The fans go crazy as ĎThe Heartbreak Kidí Shawn Michaels hits the stage. Heís in a good mood tonight, spinning round, swinging his arms round and he drops to his knees with the pyro going off behind him. He jumps back up to his feet and heads off down the ramp, slapping hands with the fans before getting in the ring. The Showstopper picks a microphone up off the apron and enters the ring, walking into the centre and looking into the crowd. He applauds the fans and his music cuts, freeing him to speak, not that he can with ďH.B.K.Ē chants coming from the stands, getting a smile from The Heartbreak Kid.

Shawn Michaels:
First of all Iíd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Secondly, if you didnít catch Raw Monday night, thereís something I think you need tí see.

Michaels turns to face the tron and points the microphone towards it.

*Video Recap*
From Raw Monday Night

ďBack in BlackĒ

Eric Bischoff
is already on his way down to the ring with his music playing, entering the ring and picking a microphone up off the apron, and like earlier, the Head of Authority is in a very good mood.

Eric Bischoff:
Well I promised Iíd have an announcement for you tínight and the timeís come fí me tí let you in to what it is Iíve come up with. . . Iíve always been an innovator. Iíve always pushed the envelope aní Iíve never been afraid tí make bold decisions if I think itís good fí business. Some of the decisions Iíve made have made histíry aní so will this. What I have to announce will make histíry, because for the first time ever, in four weeks at the Royal Rumble, the WWE Championship will be defended in the Royal Rumble match.

*Huge Pop*

Eric Bischoff: Yep, you heard me right. In just under four weeks, Triple H will be the first man to ever defend the WWE title in the rumble match, meaning 29 men from both Raw and Smackdown will have the chance to win the title in the same match.

ďTime to play the game. . .Ē

A ton of heat breaks out as the WWE Champion, Triple H hits the stage with a face like thunder, also with a microphone in hand as he glares down at Bischoff, but Bischoff doesnít look the least bit worried. It seems like he should be as The Game walks down the ramp with purpose, joining him in the ring and staring right at him before walking slowly towards him.

Triple H:
Let me get this straight. You expect me to walk into the Royal Rumble and defend it against 29 other men? 29 men, in one match?

Eric Bischoff: Wait, Huníer, listen tí me. I understand what this involves but this is purely a business decision, but look at this from a diffírent perspective. Iíve heard you talk fí years about how you want tí go down in histíry as the greatest of all time. Well hereís your chance. This is the perfect chance fí you tí go down in histíry, not just as the only man tí defend the WWE Championship in the Rumble match but the only man to successfully defend the WWE Championship in the Rumble match? How does that sound?

Triple H: As great as that sounds, do you know what the odds are of that happening? Iím one man in 30. The Royal Rumble is the most difficult match tí win for a reason. Itís 30 men in a free fí all. Putting the WWE Championship on the line only makes that even more competitive. Surviving the Rumble is almost impossible at the best of times, but this? You might as well take the title off me now. In fact, I think thatís what you want. I think you want someone else but me as WWE Champion. . .

Eric Bischoff: . . . Thatís ridiculous. Like I said, itís a business decision. Iím giving the fans something theyíve never seen before. Iím making a huge match even bigger than it already is, aní Huníer, Iíd be doing it regardless of who the champion is. The fact youíre the champion didnít even come into it. I was thinking about this even before you won the title. Whether you believe me or not, thatís your choice, but itís the truth aní itís happening.

The WWE Champion walks menacingly towards Bischoff, trying it would seem to intimidate him.

Triple H:
If I were you Bischoff Iíd think seriously about that. You might be the man in charge around here but I can make life very difficult for you.

Bischoff smirks, not intimidated at all by The Game

Eric Bischoff:
If you think you can bully me into changing my mind, youíre wrong aní Iíd advise you to think twice about who youíre talking to.

Triple H: Youíre picking a fight with the wrong guy but Iím going tí give you one last chance tí change your mind before I do something I regret.

Eric Bischoff: Threatening me isnít going tí do a damn thing. Youíre defending the title in the Royal Rumble aní thatís that. Deal with it.

Triple H grudgingly nods his head and turns round to leave the ring, leaving Bischoff with a smile on his face. The Game turns round though and drops his belt, paces towards Bischoff, stomping him in the gut and planting him with a pedigree to a ton if heat from the capacity crowd. The WWE Champion glares down without a shred of remorse as Rawís Head of Authority lies flat on his back in the middle of the ring.

A pop breaks out as The Big Show paces down the ramp and into the ring, barging his way past Triple H to check on his boss & long-time associate. He sees that Bischoffís out of it and stands up, turning towards Triple H who picks his title up and looks back at Show before stepping through the ropes, still not looking at all sorry for what heís done with Show watching his every step back up the ramp. The Game turns back and looks down at the ring with Show still staring at him furiously.

_____________________________________________

Shawn Michaels: Iím guessing thatís not the present my old buddy Huníer waníed this year but it sure as hell put a smile on my face. Fí the first time ever the WWE Championship will be defended in the Royal Rumble match aní it gives me great pleasure tí tell you all that The Heartbreak Kid will be one of those thirty men battling it out tí walk out WWE Champion.

*Big Pop*

Shawn Michaels: You heard it right boys aní girls, The Showstopperís goiní tí the dance aní Iím goiní there tí do what Iíve done twice before, only this time thereís a diffírence. Instead of having tí wait until WrestleMania tí fight for the most prestigious prize in the business, itís there tí be won in there an' then.

*Pop*

Shawn Michaels: Just like 29 other guys I can walk in tí the Rumble aní walk out the WWE Champion, but thatís not all. I spoke to Eric Bischoff about being in the match aní he told me something he didnít say on Raw. . . whoever wins the Rumble wonít just win the WWE Championship, theyíll defend it in the main event of WrestleMania. Iíve gotta tell ya, winning the Rumble meant a whole lot the two times Iíve done it but itís not all about getting that shot at the title, itís about being the main event of WrestleMania, aní you donít need me tí tell you that youíre lookiní at The Main Event, aní not only that. Youíre lookiní at Mr. WrestleMania.

*Big Pop*

Shawn Michaels: That spotís mine. It always has been from the first time I headlined the grand daddy aní beat Bret ĎThe Hitmaní Hart tí win my first WWE Championship. Ever since Iíve made that spot my own. No oneís performed to the level I have at WrestleMania aní no one knows more than I do that my chances tí get that chance again are running out, but right here right now Iím putting evíryone in the back, here and on Raw that Shawn Michaels will headline WrestleMania 25 one more time as the WWE Champion.

*Massive Pop*

Shawn Michaels: Iíve done it all in this business aní thereís plenty of life left in the old dog yet. I know one person who wonít be too happy tí hear what Iíve said tínight, but Huníer, you know like I do that it ainít personal, itís just business. You might be the champion but Iím cominí for your title my man aní Iím gonna take it.

*More Cheers*

Shawn Michaels: Like I said, I donít know how long Iíve got left aní Iím gonna make the most of the time Iíve got left in this ring aní that means giving it evírything Iíve got tí win the Rumble aní headline WrestleMania like I did this year. I said that night after I retained the world title that next yearís might be last, aní if thatís the case Iím goiní out in style like only HBK can.

*Small Pop*

Shawn Michaels: I. . .

ďBreak the walls down. . .Ē

A chorus of boos greets Chris Jericho as he casually walks out to the stage with a smug look on his face, looking into the crowd & down at Michaels. The Heartbreak Kid looks quite surprised to see him standing there and now as he coolly walks down the ramp with a microphone in hand, smiling again at the fans as he heads up the steps and joins Michaels in the ring with the fans still booing. Jericho looks right at Michaels, still smirking like a smug son of a bitch as his music is cut.

Chris Jericho:
I can assure you that your eyes arenít deceiving you. What you see in front of you is the best in the world at what he does, and I stand by the statement I made the last time I was standing in this ring that I would not return as long as John Cena is on Smackdown.

*Some Heat*

Chris Jericho: I am very aware that he is still a member of the Smackdown roster. I on the other hand am not. . . It gives me a great deal of satisfaction to inform you that after speaking to Eric Bischoff that as of this moment I am officially a Raw superstar.

*Mixed*

Chris Jericho: I will be returning to the show that I belong on, the A show where the best in the world compete evíry week, and now the best wrestler on this earth will join them and show them just why I am the very best this company has ever seen.

*Heat*

Chris Jericho: That also means Shawn that I too will be a part of the Royal Rumble match, which unfortunately for you and the other 28 entrants means you will be unsuccessful, because I, Chris Jericho will be the last man standing and the new WWE Champion.

*Ton of Boos*

Chris Jericho: Iím sorry to disappoint you Shawn but you wonít be going to WrestleMania one last time as the main event or the headliner. You can talk about how youíve won two Rumble matches all you want, it was 13 years ago since you last won one. Youíve failed on each of your attempts since and this year will be no diffírent.

*Heat*

Michaels smiles, taking Jerichoís comments with a pinch of salt.

Shawn Michaels:
Chris, youíre absolutely right. It has been almost 13 years since I won the Rumble. . .

Chris Jericho: . . . Has-been being the operative word.

Shawn Michaels: Ouch, Iíve never heard that before, but speaking of things Iíve never heard or seen before, where this has-been has won two Royal Rumbles, unless Iím mistaken Chris, youíve not won one. Maybe just maybe you should worry about your own chances instead of talking about anybody elseís.

Chris Jericho: Youíre absolutely right, I have yet to win a Royal Rumble match but there is a first time f' evírything like when I became the first ever undisputed champion. I am the best in the world for a reason and I have exactly what it takes to win the Rumble and I guarantee you that I will win this time and walk into the WrestleMania main event as the WWE Champion.

Shawn Michaels: Well Chris I think itís my turn tí disappoint you. See even if youíre as good as you think you might be thereís a reason you aní some of the best to have ever stepped foot in this ring have failed tí win the Rumble. It is without question the most difficult match in this business tí win. You donít just have tí beat one man, not two not three but 29 who are fighting fí the chance tí book themselves a spot in the biggest match youíll ever have. Itís almost a once in a lifetime opportunity. Itís tough, itís unpredictable, but youíre lookiní at a man whoís not just won one. . . Iíve won two.

*Pop*

Shawn Michaels: Unlike you I know what it takes tí get the job done. You can talk it up all you want the bottom line is Iíve won it before aní I can I win it again. Hell I was the first tí win it from number one aní the first tí win it back tí back. No one else can say theyíve done both aní as far as Iím concerned that tells me. . .

Chris Jericho: . . . That tells me youíre kidding yourself. The past is the past and youíre past it Michaels. You donít stand a chance of winning again.

*Heat*

Shawn Michaels: Well we donít have tí wait that long tí find out aní Iíve got my faith. I believe Iíve still got what it takes. I want it as much now as I did back then aní Iím makiní it my New Yearís resolution tí do it one more time.

*Cheers*

Chris Jericho: Youíre not the only one Michaels to be making a New Yearís resolution, only mine will be to not just win the Royal Rumble but go onto WrestleMania with the WWE title and Iím not going to let some over the hill has-been like you prevent me from being on the stage I belong.

*More Boos*

Shawn Michaels: Chris my boy, since itís a time of good will to all men, Iím going to wish you the very best of luck before I take my leave.

Michaels offers his hand to a baffled Jericho. The Canadian stares at him, shocked, and in his confused state he shakes Michaelsí hand and The Heartbreak Kid walks past him to the ropes, about to step through them but stops with Jericho still shocked. He turns round and looks at Michaels, but The Showstopper steps away from the ropes and takes his head off with some Sweet Chin Music. The crowd cheer like mad for Michaels, and still holding the microphone, he kneels down towards the flat out Canadian.

Shawn Michaels:
Merry Christmas Chris. I hope you have a happy New Year!

ďSexy BoyĒ blasts out again and Michaels drops the microphone on the mat before standing up to a big pop from the fans with a big smile on his face. He smiles into the crowd and looks down at Jericho who starts to come round. Michaels decides to take his leave and heads back up the ramp slapping hands with the fans again as Jericho sits up with a face like thunder.

Michael Cole:
I have to admit Matt that Iíve never really been an admirer of Eric Bischoff but this decision of his to have Triple H defend the WWE Championship in the Royal Rumble match against superstars from both of Raw and Smackdown is a stroke of genius.

Matt Striker: I have to agree Michael. You can already feel the excitement and the tension building, and weíre still over three weeks away from the Rumble itself. Thereís still a lot that can happen before then, starting on Raw next Monday night.

Bryan Danielson, dressed to compete and then likewise, CM Punk are shown walking through the back headed for the ring.

Michael Cole:
Weíre just minutes away from our main event. The now former World Heavyweight Champion will take on the undefeated Bryan Danielson when we come back. You wonít want tí miss this folks. Weíll be back in a matter of minutes for what should be an amazing main event.

>Coming Soon!<

*The Main Event*
Bryan Danielson vs. CM Punk

Danielson has made a real fight of this, continuing to make an impact in big matches since coming to Smackdown. He's managed to piss Punk off even more, leading to Punk letting his frustration getting the better of him. The former World Champion's in trouble, missing with a running knee to the corner as Danielson steps to the side. Danielson's right on him and drags him away from the corner and applies a FIGURE FOUR LEG LOCK!!. . . . . Punk's in agony and he screams out in pain with the ref asking him if he wants to give it up, but he doesn't and tells him no, still hurting.

Danielson doesn't hold back and tortures Punk, but The Straight-Edge Superstar fights for his life and holds on, now tries to drag himself towards the ropes. He gets closer but Danielson tries all he can to stop him. It's not enough though and Punk gets closer, then with one last throw of desperation grabs the bottom rope, but it doesn't go down well with the fans. Danielson lets the hold go and watches Punk claw his way back up by the ropes, and he goes right back after him, pulling him away and pummels him with a couple of stiff kicks to the chest, putting Punk down onto one knee.

He turns back into the ropes and comes back for a SIT-DOWN DROPKICK!!. . . . . But Punk ducks it and both men get up as quickly as they can and Punk dodges another stiff kick to take Danielson's head off with a ROUNDHOUSE KICK!!!. . . . . He doesn't as Danielson ducks and Punk knocks the ref out instead. Both men look down in shock, but as they look back up Punk lifts Danielson up off his feet and up for the GTS!!!. . . . . Danielson slips down straight away and grabs Punk's arm, dragging him down to lock in the LE-BELL LOCK!!!. . . . .

Again Punk screams out in pain with the fans cheering, but there's no ref anyway if Punk does tap. He doesn't as Danielson puts him through hell, but again Punk tries to fight it and drag himself to the ropes, not that it's easy. He drags himself closer & closer, and again he gets there, but Danielson doesn't have to let go and he doesn't. Eventually he does though and tries to drag Punk back up, but he gets a rake to the eyes for his troubles.

Danielson drops to one knee holding his face as Punk takes the chance to get his breath back, then steps out as Danielson stands up and lifts him up off the mat and onto his shoulders for the GTS, AND THIS TIME HE HITS IT!!!. . . . . Danielson's out and Punk goes for the cover, then Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley makes her way down the ramp to a pop with some boos mixed in. She takes her time as Punk sits up watching, shaking his head, and as she enters the ring he shouts at her to make the count as he once again covers Danielson. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

Stephanie delays the count and Danielson gets his shoulder up to the delight of the crowd. Punk though is furious and stares up at Stephanie as she stands back up, telling Punk to do the same, but as he does he walks towards her as Danielson comes round. Punk gets right in Stephanie's face like Sunday and lets her have it, but she gives as good as she gets, and Punk looks all set to snap but just about manages to hold back. He turns back and walks slowly back towards Danielson, but as he reaches down, Danielson reaches up and pulls Punk into a SMALL PACKAGE WITH STEPHANIE RUSHING TO MAKE THE COUNT. . . . .

1. .

2. .

. . 3!

Danielson got him in and it was a fairly quick count from Stephanie, and Punk knows it. It wasn't on the level of Sunday and Punk's furious as he sits up, and even Danielson doesn't look best pleased as he stands up with Steph raising his arm. Danielson looks awkward and leaves the ring half apologising to Punk who just stares at the smug Stephanie. Punk shakes his head at her and stands up, walks over to the ropes and demands a microphone. He gets one and stays by the ropes looking at Steph.

Winner: Bryan Danielson by pinfall.

CM Punk: I very rarely make threats Steph but I suggest you listen to what Iím about tí say Ďcause Iím only going tí say it once. . . You might well be a McMahon but quite frankly I donít care who your dad is. Youíre the only reason Iím not the World Champion anymore aní this is the very last time youíll screw me over. I know that because of what Iím about tí do.

Punk walks slowly & menacingly towards Stephanie who starts to sense she might be in serious danger.

CM Punk:
Youíve screwed around with the wrong guy this time aní Iíve gotta say Iím not even sorry fí whatís about tí happen.

Punk grabs Steph by his left arm and gets right in her face, but a big pop breaks out with some boos too as John Cena races down the ramp and slides in the ring. He gets right in the middle of them, pissing Punk off no end. Punk shakes his head and turns to the side, then nails Cena in the head with the microphone to another loud mixed reaction, largely negative as Cena rolls around on the mat with Steph watching nervously as she tries to escape. Punk drops the microphone and goes after her, grabbing her arm again and pulling her back into the middle of the ring.

The fans boo as she looks really scared with Punk staring at her with evil intent, but Cena crawls across on his hands & knees and grabs Punkís left leg. Punk turns round and Cena sits up, getting a thunderous roundhouse kick to the face for his troubles as Stephanie pulls away and runs to safety, this time managing to leave the ring a very relieved woman. Punk though isnít relieved at all as he sees her breathing heavily as she backs up the ramp, and Punk goes back to get the microphone, staring right up at her.

CM Punk:
Count yíself lucky tínight Steph because I promise you, next time you might not be so lucky. Just remember what I said. If you stay out of my way youíll be fine, but if you so much as try tí stop me getting the world title back, youíll be sorry. I donít care if it costs me my job, itís a risk Iím prepared tí take, Ďcause right now if it wasnít fí the world title Iíd be out of this company like a shot.

ďThis Fire BurnsĒ hits and Punk continues staring at a fuming Stephanie and then turns round looking at Cena who starts to stir as Smackdown comes to a close with Punk turning back towards Stephanie, making sure she knows he means business.

Michael Cole:
I fí one canít blame CM Punk fí being angry tínight after the week heís had thanks tí Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, but he canít go threatening and putting his hands on her. Heís the one asking fí trouble if you ask me.

Matt Striker: He might want tí be a bit more careful Michael when it comes to talking about his job. Heís already putting himself in dangerous territory, and after his actions tínight he might just find himself out of one.

Michael Cole: Heís playing with fire right now aní you know what happens when you play with fire. . . you get burnt, aní as much as he might like tí think heís no diffírent, heís not. We might see you next week but Punk might not. Have a happy New Year folks. Weíll see you next year.

Breaking News: John Cena Forfeits the World Heavyweight Championship!

The final Smackdown of 2008 has just come off the air and we can report that John Cena has forfeited the World Heavyweight Championship he won only five nights ago at Night of Champions.

The show started with the man he beat, CM Punk angrily protesting against the defeat that saw Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley refuse to count Cena's shoulders but make a quick count to gift Cena the world title. We found out that Cena was also unhappy with how his first world title victory came about and he told Stephanie that he didn't want to win the title that way, leaving him with no option but to forfeit the title. Stephanie didn't want to accept his decision but Tazz did, and as it stands we have no World Heavyweight Champion. That will remain the case until the Royal Rumble when Cena & Punk will meet again in a No Holds Barred match with one fall to a finish with Tazz promising that unlike Night of Champions, neither he or Stephanie will get involved in the match.

>Headlines!<

>No World Champion. . . but not for long!<

Last night's final episode of Smackdown for 2008 wasn't short of controversy, just like Night of Champions last weekend that led to some blockbuster announcements with huge consequences.

We all saw how Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley counted a quick fall last weekend during the highly anticipated World Heavyweight Championship match between John Cena & CM Punk to give Cena his first world title, however last night Cena let Stephanie as well as the former champion know that he didn't want to win the title that way. He then shocked the both of them as well as everyone watching around the world that he was forfeiting the title for that reason, and despite Stephanie's objections to him doing so, Smackdown General Manager, Tazz accepted the decision and Cena's reasons for doing so.

Tazz then went on to announce that as Smackdown was without a world champion, they needed to resolve the situation, and his solution was that Cena & Punk will meet once again in three weeks at the Royal Rumble where the winner will be crowned the undisputed World Heavyweight Champion. Tazz also stated that the match will be No Holds Barred with one fall to a finish so that a winner is guaranteed, and it was music to Punk's ears when the General Manager vowed neither he or Stephanie will get involved.

The night didn't end there for either man though as the unhappy Executive Vice-President called for them both to compete, and after Cena was victorious against Punk's former rookie, Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez, The Straight-Edge Superstar went one-on-one in the main event with Bryan Danielson. The former World Champion quickly found out why so many have been impressed by Danielson since his arrival on Smackdown, and after the referee was inadvertently knocked out, Stephanie once again stepped into the breach and again made a quick count to cost Punk another match.

As you would expect, Punk was absolutely furious and he vowed to get his title back, not before vowing to make sure Stephanie never got involved in his matches again. He was all set to put her to sleep until Cena stormed the ring to make sure Punk made a mistake he would live to regret, but it was Cena who was regretting actions when he found himself on the wrong end of a cheap shot from Punk's microphone. Thankfully for Stephanie she was able to escape before Punk could put her to sleep for a second attempt, but he did promise that if she got involved again he would do, regardless of her who she is and if it costs him his job. Something says it's going to be a bumpy ride all the way to the Rumble in three weeks!

Monday Night Raw Ė Preview!
Monday 29th December 2008
Live from the Arizona Veterans Memorial Arena
Phoenix, Arizon

In what will be the final Raw of the year, we're all set for what should be an explosive end to 2008 after the bombshell Eric Bischoff dropped last week when he announced that for the first time in history, the WWE Championship will be defended in the Royal Rumble match!

That enormous responsibility falls on the head of Triple H, and The Game certainly let us all know how he feels about the huge challenge he faces in three weeks when he hit Raw's Head of Authority with a Pedigree at the end of last week's show. It may even have got worse had The Big Show not made his way down to the ring. From what we understand, Bischoff will be on Raw as usual this week and he has been thinking all week about an appropriate way to deal with the WWE Champion's actions last Monday night. Just what does Bischoff have in mind? It's just not Triple H who'll be wanting to find that out. Make sure you tune into Raw tonight to find out just how Bischoff plans to punish Triple H.

The news of Triple H's huge title defence spread to Smackdown last Friday night and 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels announced that he will be one of several Smackdown superstars looking to enter the Rumble and become the new WWE Champion. He wasn't the only one however, as Chris Jericho returned to reveal his intentions to head into WrestleMania 25 with the title. That however wasn't all Jericho had to say. He hadn't been on Smackdown for six weeks after refusing to be on the same show as John Cena. That won't be a problem now as Jericho stated that he is officially a Raw superstar. We also understand that Jericho is headed to Phoenix for tonight's show. What can we expect if that is indeed the case? Will it once again be Raw Is Jericho?!

We'll also get to see two title matches as we bring the curtain down on the eventful year that's been 2008, and we might just see if anyone is able to overcome the Women's Champion, Queen Kong. She's been absolutely unstoppable since her debut on Raw earlier this year, and she continued her dominant streak at Night of Champions just over a week ago when she defeated Melina to get her hands on the title that Gail Kim has previously held and will challenge for tonight. She'll be looking to cause an upset and inflict Kong's first defeat in the WWE as she fights to become Women's Champion again. Can she manage it or will Kong's dominance continue?

Also defending their championship gold tonight is the Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior's had a similar journey to the Women's Champion, only in recent weeks he's tasted defeat. After being pinned for the first time by Kofi Kingston last month before going onto retain his title at Night of Champions against Kofi eight days ago, Sheamus has had a couple of run-in's with The Undertaker. Two weeks ago he got himself disqualified in order to save himself for his title defence at the weekend, but last week he was ordered to face the phenom again which also resulted in him getting disqualified. The Intercontinental Champion was furious as he failed to put The Undertaker away, so much so he resorted to using a steel chair on The Dead-Man. Bischoff was obviously unhappy with his actions and has put him into a match with a former rival & fellow Irishman, Finlay. Will Sheamus be able to put Finlay away this week where he failed last week or will he come up short again?

The World Tag Team Champions, Rey Mysterio & Mystico may not be defending their titles tonight but it's fair to say that they have a battle on their hands with The Epitome of Excellence declaring last week that they're not going to stop until they get a rematch they feel they deserve. Christopher Daniels & Kaval were furious at not being declared champions before the Survivor Series when the Mexican duo went onto win the titles, but even more so last Monday night after their disqualification victory over them the previous night at Night of Champions. Some may feel Daniels & Kaval have every right to a rematch, and after warning Rey & Mystico they've played nice until now, will the champions give them what they want to avoid getting them even more riled up?

We learnt last week that in three weeks at the Royal Rumble, Kofi Kingston will lock horns with his brother, Jay Lethal who turned up last month and has been hell bent on getting revenge on him for walking out on him & his family. Jay had a shock though last week when Kofi told him that despite previously saying otherwise, their mother did give him her blessing to leave the family home in his attempts to become a WWE superstar. His brother didn't believe him and even went as far as to saying he changed his surname so he doesn't share the same name as his 'judas' of a brother. He also told Kofi that he too has trained to become a WWE superstar in the hope of one day beating him, and at the Rumble he'll get his chance after all hell broke loose last week when Lethal jumped Kofi as he went to leave the ring. The fight spilled to the back where Bischoff happened to be at the time, and he told them both that this had to stop. He then let them know that they would meet at the Rumble with the winner going onto the Rumble match, and subsequently a shot at the WWE title. Despite saying earlier that he didn't want to fight his brother, will this change Kofi's mind with so much at stake? He'll also get an idea of what he's up against when he & the rest of us get to see his brother in action for the first time live on Raw tonight. Kofi won't want to miss it and neither should you.

Also in action tonight is John Morrison when he takes on his former tag team partner, The Miz. The former World Tag Team Champions had a bitter rivalry earlier this year with Morrison beating Mr. Hollywood at SummerSlam. Miz settled the score at Unforgiven the next month so we should be in store for a cracking encounter tonight in Phoenix. The Monday Night Delight comes into it on the back of a solid win against a sore loser in Zack Ryder last week while Miz came up short in a brave effort against The Big Show. Can he bounce back with a win tonight or will it be back-to-back victories for Morrison?

It promises to be an exciting end to 2008 live tonight in Phoenix, Arizona. Make sure you don't miss it!

Confirmed for the final Raw of 2008!

Intercontinental Championship

Finlay vs. Sheamus (c)

Womenís Championship
Gail Kim vs. Queen Kong (c)

Plus

John Morrison vs. The Miz

The in ring debut of Jay Lethal

*Video Recap*
From Last Week!

Standing in the middle of the ring, Eric Bischoff takes a brief pause and smiles into the crowd, looking very proud of himself.

Eric Bischoff:

Only once has the WWE title been on the line in the Rumble, however this time there will be a champion going into the match who will have to outlast 29 men to walk out, still WWE Champi.

ďTime t' play the game. .

Do you have any idea what kind of impossible situation youíre putting me in?

Jim Ross: Good evening ev'ryone and welcome to the last Raw of 2008, an' after last week folks it promises t' be one hell of a ride here t'night live from the Arizona Veterans Memorial Arena in Phoenix Arizona.

Jerry Lawler: Oh it sure does J-R. The whole world's talking about what happened at the end of Raw last week an' how Eric Bischoff announced that at the Royal Rumble, Triple H will become the first man in hist'ry to defend the WWE Championship in the Royal Rumble match, and if that wasn't enough, The Game pedigreed Bischoff. Pissing Bischoff off is the last thing he should be doing right now if you ask m. . .

"Time t' play the game. . ."

A chorus of boos breaks out in the arena as the WWE Champion, Triple H strolls out to the stage, clearly in one hell of a mood. The Game stops & stares out into the crowd giving them all filthy looks before heading down the ramp on a mission, picking a microphone up off the apron as he steps inside the ring, still getting a ton of heat thrown at him as he looks into the stands again. He's seething tonight and the boos continue as his music stops, and The King of Kings walks into the middle of the ring, trying to compose himself as the fans settle down slowly.

Triple H:
Last week I stood in this ring to be told that in three weeks I have to defend my WWE title against 29 other men in the Royal Rumble match.

*Big Pop*

Triple H: Eric Bischoff stood in this ring and told the world that for the first time ever, the WWE Championship will be defended in the Rumble match, but let me say this. There's a reason why it'll be the first time. There's a reason why it's never happened before, simply because it's almost impossible. It's the most unpredictable match there is with 30 men. Let me say that again. . . 30 men. For Bischoff to expect anyone to defend the title in those circumstances is nothing short of insane and I flat out refuse. . .

"Back in Black"

The Raw Head of Authority, Eric Bischoff casually walks out into the arena to a positive reaction from the Phoenix fans, and he stops to look back. A group of up to 10 security officers follow him out, putting a bigger smile on Bischoff's face as he heads down the ramp towards the ring with security joining him in there, not making Triple H's mood any better at all as he stares at Bischoff with contempt.

Eric Bischoff:
Hun'er I'm disappointed in you. Didn't we have this conversation last week? No matter what you think or how you feel about it, you will defend the WWE Championship in the Royal Rumble match.

*Big Pop*

Eric Bischoff: It doesn't matter what you say or after last week, what you do, there's no way out of it. I mean if you were still on good terms with your wife I'm sure she'd have no problem throwing her wait around here like she is on Smackdown but I get the feeling after the way you treated her she's looking forward t' seeing you fight f' your title like all these fans are.

*More Cheers*

Eric Bischoff: And if I'm being honest, after what you did last week, I can't wait either. Saying that, I always look forward to the Rumble. It's the most exciting match of the year, the most unpredictable like you said and that's why I made this decision, to make it even more exciting than it already is. It was purely business Hun'er. All you can do now is deal with it and start t' think about how you're going t' do the impossible, which like I said last week will see you go down in hist'ry as not just the first man to ever defend the WWE title in the Rumble but retain it in the Rumble.

*Heat*

Eric Bischoff: The odds maybe against you but just think about what it will do t' your legacy if you do the unthinkable. People will talk about you like you already talk about yourself and how you want t' be talked about, as the best ever.

*More Heat*

Triple H: I don't disagree with that last part and if anyone is capable of doing just that it's me, but that doesn't change the fact that it's completely ridiculous to expect me t' go through with it. With that said I think you should know that I've been talking to my lawyer abou. . .

Eric Bischoff: . . . Hun'er Hun'er Hun'er let me make this easy for you. It doesn't matter what legal advice you get, all that matters is there's nothing in your contract that can get you out of it. You can try all you want but whether you like it not you will defend your title in the Rumble match.

*Pop*

Eric Bischoff: Now we've got that out of the way I think we should talk about what happened last week and why I've had t' bring security down here with me. You don't need me t' tell you what you did an' I'm going t' skip past that. I'm gonna get right t' the point. I've had a week t' think about what punishment I should give you. I came up with several possibilities, because let's face it Hun'er you've always had a problem with authority, and in just a few moments you're going t' realise who calls the shots around here.

*More Cheers*

Bischoff looks intently at The Game, letting him know he means business.

Eric Bischoff:
I've got to admit that all the possibilities I came up with like suspending you, stripping you of the title, they all appealed t' me. . . but then I had another idea come into my head that I think these people are going t' love. See since this is all about making hist'ry, you being the first superstar to ever defend the WWE title in the Royal Rumble an' all, but it gets better. There's only one thing worse than having t' defend the title in the Rumble, that being having to defend the WWE title in the Royal Rumble as the number one entrant.

The crowd erupts with a massive pop as Bischoff stands there with a big smile on his face. Triple H can't believe what he's hearing and just glares at him, then walks closer as security move in.

Triple H:
F' your sake Bischoff I hope this is a joke.

Eric Bischoff: I can assure you it's no joke.

The Game takes a deep breath and turns to the side, then turns back, getting right in Bischoff's face.

Triple H:
In that case, if you don't want a repeat of last week or worse, you better change your mind.

Eric Bischoff: Oh I'm not changing my mind. You should just be grateful you'll still have the chance to defend the title after last week.

The WWE Champion shakes his head and turns round, walking away from Bischoff and pulls off his jacket. He tosses the microphone, his title and his jacket down to the mat, then rips off his tie, throwing that down too before marching right back into Bischoff's face, breathing heavily with a red face.

"Crank It Up"

A big pop meets The Big Show as he walks out to the stage, stomping his way down to the ring with The Game stepping back and Bischoff smirking at him. Show's eyes are locked on The Game as he steps over the top rope and walks right towards him, standing right in front of him and keeping him away from Bischoff with security looking worried. Show's music stops and he picks up the microphone Triple H dropped moments ago.

The Big Show:
You think you're tough picking a fight with him? How about you pick a fight with me, 'cause I'll happily knock you out?

*Pop*

Show & HHH stare right at each other.

Eric Bischoff:
Now this is what I like t' see. There's going t' be so much competition at the Rumble, I wanna see people back there step up, an' t'night I think our main event's just popped up right in front of us. So later on t'night we're gonna see the WWE Champion Triple H go one-on-one with The World's Largest Athlete, The Big Show.

Another big pop breaks out as Show starts to laugh in The Game's face, and the WWE Champion is as seething as he was when he walked down to the ring. Bischoff looks pleased with himself as he turns round to leave the ring, followed by security as Show & Triple H still staring at each other.

*Commercial Break*

Jim Ross:
Welcome back folks t' what it is the last Raw of 2008, an' what a show it's going t' be. Just before the commercial break we learnt that at the Royal Rumble, Triple H won't just defend the WWE title in the 30 man over the top battle royal but he'll defend it as the number one entrant, and if that's not enough he'll be going one-on-one with the 500 pound Big Show right here t'night.

Jerry Lawler: We said King that when you play with Eric Bischoff you're playing with fire. Well he's the one playing The Game right now.

Jim Ross: He sure is but there's a whole lot more in store t'night. For example we're gonna see the former tag team champions, John Morrison an' The Miz go at it, an' what a battle they had not so long ago.

Jerry Lawler: They sure did but that's not all J-R. The Intercontinental title will be on the line later on when Sheamus takes on his fellow Irishman Finlay. They've got hist'ry too an' hist'ry tells us that should be a good old fashioned slobber-knocker.

Jim Ross: It could well be King but I'm also looking forward to the debut of Kofi Kingston's brother, Jay Lethal. Those two will meet at the Royal Rumble in three weeks an' we'll all get our first look at Kofi's younger brother later on, an' that includes Kofi, but we're starting off t'night with the divas an' the Women's Champion.

Queen Kong's eerie music hits to heat from the crowd and the Women's Champion makes her way out into the arena with the women's title resting on her shoulder. She walks down to the ring giving scary looks to those in the front few rows before stepping into the ring, all ready & focused for action.

Jerry Lawler:
I don't know about you J-R but Kong sure scares the hell out of me.

Jim Ross: Absolutely King. I'm glad I'm not in Gail Kim's shoes t'night. She's got a big challenge ahead of her if she wants t' go into 2009 as the Women's Champion.

The music of the challenger, Gail Kim hits as she flies out to the stage, walking to both sides and getting the fans going. She heads back to the centre of the stage and looks down at her opponent, and her mood changes, realising the obstacle standing in her way with Kong staring right at her all the way into the ring.

*Match 1*
Womenís Championship
Gail Kim vs. Queen Kong (c)

Gail's put up a brave fight against the Women's Champion and she's got the behemoth rattled. With the crowd cheering her on, Gail picks herself back up as Kong as does the same. The challenger's starting to believe and heads to the corner, climbing up to the top rope. Kong turns round to face her and sees Gail jump off the top for a DIVING CROSS BODY!!. . . . . The champion catches her though and stares into the crowd with dangerous intentions, then goes for a SWINGING ONE ARM SIDE SLAM!!. . . . . No, Gail counters with a DDT!!. . . . . The crowd love it. They think Gail's got it won, and so does Gail as she shimmies round on the canvas to make the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

NO! Kong just about manages to get her shoulder up and Gail can't believe it. She leans back on her knees staring desperately at the referee, and her head sinks into her hands as Kong comes round. The fans too look devastated but Gail has to move on as Kong starts to sit up. She does just that and goes back to the corner, climbing up all the way again as Kong makes it back up, and as she turns round, Gail again leaps off the top and takes her down with a FRONT MISSILE DROPKICK!!. . . . . The fans show their support & encouragement again as Gail stands up and urges the champion to do the same, and she does.

Kong's eyes are all over the place as her opponent gets ready to strike, leaping up off the mat and onto her shoulders for a HURRICANRANA!!. . . . . But wait, Kong just about holds on and lifts Kim back up then slams her into the mat with a RELEASE POWER-BOMB!!!. . . . . The challenger's down & out and Kong just stares down at her coldly, no compassion whatsoever. Gail's in deep trouble and Kong knows it, dragging her closer to the corner and she now heads up the ropes, pulling herself up to the second rope.

She again stares down at Gail, still not moving before coming off the top for the QUEEN OF ALL SPLASHES!!!. . . . . No, Gail rolls into the corner and Kong crashes into the mat to a huge pop from the capacity crowd. Gail looks shocked as she lifts her head up, but she sees Kong crawling onto her knees. The challenger too makes her way back up, using the ropes to help her, and as she turns round in the corner, she sees Kong glaring at her in anger. The behemoth charges right in at her and Gail steps to the side to another pop, then quickly rolls Kong up. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

Kick out from Kong as both divas make their way back up as quickly as they can. Gail strikes her with a stiff kick to the gut, and another, putting Kong down on one knee. Kim has her in trouble and she knows it. She turns round and runs the ropes, racing back as Kong jumps up and explodes with a THUNDEROUS LARIAT!!. . . . . She turned Gail inside out and the fans look concerned, as they should as Kong again stares down intensely at her fallen opponent. She now drags Kim back up, getting no resistance from her as she sets her up between her legs. The fans are worried, big time as Kong easily lifts her up into the air and slams her down into the canvas for a SIT-OUT POWER-BOMB!!!. . . . . Gail's hopes look all over as Kong holds on for the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

Kong's music hits again as she takes her time standing up as the ref goes to collect her title, but Kong isn't done with Kim yet and brushes the ref aside to drag Kim to the corner, going up to the second rope for the DIVING SPLASH AGAIN!!!. . . . . The fans boo as Kim lies there, eyes flickering as Kong glares down at her with the referee pleading with her not to do it when "Paparazzi" hits to a big pop. The former Women's Champion, Melina races down the ramp in a crop top with her ribs taped, taking Kong by surprise.

Winner: By pinfall, and still the Women's Champion, Queen Kong.

Jim Ross: Yet again Kong is victorious but Melina showed some guts t'night coming to Gail's aid an' it looks like she's not going t' sit back an' let Kong have things all her own way. She's also got the small matter of a rematch at the Women's Championship.

Jerry Lawler: Rematch or not J-R you've got t' be crazy t' wanna get in the ring with her but I'll give Melina credit. After Kong cracked her ribs at Night of Champions I didn't expect t' see her for a while but here she is, but if you ask me she's got her work cut out getting the title back off Kong.

Jim Ross: I don't think that applies just to Melina King. I think anyone will have their work cut out beating this woman. She's an absolute monster and she's going t' take some beating that's f' sure.

Hardcore Holly vs. Homicide

Holly hasn't made life easy for Homicide and shows no signs of letting up. Holly confidently pulls the groggy New Yorker back up to his feet and sends him into the ropes, going for one of his trademark STANDING DROPKICKS!!. . . . . Holly hits the deck as Homicide holds onto the ropes and watches with no emotion. He watches intently as his opponent makes sits back up, then runs at him and nails him with a SHINING WIZARD!!. . . . . The Brooklyn native wastes no time in going for the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No, Holly just about gets his shoulder up, met with some surprise from Homicide who quickly shrugs it off and goes back to work. He stands up and brings Holly with him to fire him into the corner, then wastes no time in racing in for a little FACE-WASH!!!. . . . . He hit it and Holly staggers out into an EXPLODER SUPLEX!!. . . . . Homicide is all over him and he jumps up to climb up the ropes, going all the way up top with Holly flat on his back. The fans watch on as the focused New Yorker leaps off the top for a FROG SPLASH!!!. . . . . Holly stuns him by lifting his knees up into his gut, drawing a pop from the crowd.

Homicide rolls around clutching his stomach as Holly sits up. Both men claw their way back up and Holly explodes with right hands, following it up with a scoop slam. He's feeling the momentum shift now and steps back, watching Homicide stand back up, then nails him with a clothesline, then another with the crowd getting behind him. Homicide's on the back foot now as Holly stomps him in the gut and plants him with a SNAP SUPLEX!!. . . . . The fans are feeling it too and Holly looks to take advantage and makes a cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

No! Homicide gets his shoulder up, leaving the fans & Holly disappointed. He quickly moves on and stands back up, bringing his opponent with him, getting ready for the ALABAMA SLAM!!!. . . . . He lifts Homicide up off his feet, but the New Yorker reacts quickly to rake him in the eyes. He lands on his feet and shows his quick instincts again in a flash to take him down with a SWINGING NECK-BREAKER!!. . . . . Holly's back in trouble now and Homicide this time helps him up, lifting him into position for the GRINGO KILLA, A BACK-TO-BACK DOUBLE UNDER-HOOK PILEDRIVER!!!. . . . . There's no fight left in Holly and Homicide hits it, driving Holly's head into the mat and goes right for the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3.

It's over and Homicide's music hits as the ref raises his hand as he stares into the crowd, no real emotion as he takes a quick look down at Holly, job done and leaves the ring, heading back up the ramp with his work done for the night.

Winner: Homicide by pinfall.

Jim Ross: Yet again folks Homicide continues t' go about his business here on Raw in emphatic fashion. Trust me, Hardcore Holly is one tough cookie. That's another impressive vict'ry for the man from Brooklyn.

We're shown a split screen featuring John Morrison & The Miz making their way through the back, both in their ring gear and with their game faces on.

Jim Ross:
When we came back folks the former tag team champions, John Morrison an' The Miz will go one-on-one. Don't go anywhere folks, we'll be back before you know it.

No, Morrison ducks it and takes Ryderís head off with a thunderous SUPER KICK!!!. . . . . Ryderís flat on his back and Morrison drags him by the arm towards the corner, and with Ryder motionless he races up to the top rope. The fans cheer as he reaches the summit and Morrison jumps off, coming down on Ryder for STAR-SHIP PAIN!!!. . . . . He hits it and reaches to the side to make the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

A big pop breaks out in the stands as Morrison gets up to get his arm raised by the referee and he heads over to the corner again, climbing up to the second rope, celebrating with the cheering fans. He steps down and heads off into the opposite corner to do the same with Ryder sitting up, not looking at all happy. Morrison soaks up the ovation from the fans, but as he jumps down and turns round, Ryder runs at him and takes him down with a clothesline. The fans boo the hell out of the Long Islander as he puts the boots to Morrison, stomping all over him with real anger. Just as he did minutes ago, he steps away from Morrison, stalking him for the Rough Ryder.

The Long Islander stares across angrily, urging Morrison up, but another pop comes from the crowd as Justin Gabriel runs down the ramp and slides into the ring. Ryder only sees him at the last minute and runs at him instead, but Gabriel ducks and Ryder hits the ropes. Gabriel turns round and charges at him, clotheslining Ryder over the top and out of the ring. The fans cheer again as Ryder hits the floor and Gabriel helps Morrison up to his feet, both staring at Ryder as he stands up, staring back at them shaking his head as ďThis Ainít No Make BelieveĒ plays again.

*Match 3*
John Morrison vs. The Miz

Morrison started the match on fire, really getting the crowd into it, but it's Miz who's fought his way back into it, finding himself in control of the contest over his former bitter rival and tag team partner. He has JoMo down and helps him back up, only to send him back down on his ass with a snap-mare. Morrison's seated on the mat as the fired-up Mr. Hollywood runs past him into the ropes and comes back to drive his boot right into Morrison's face.

Miz likes what he sees, raising both arms into the air and taunting the crowd. He knows he's in charge and pulls the weary Morrison back up and sends him racing into the corner. JoMo hits the turnbuckle pads and Miz runs in for a clothesline, jumping towards JoMo, but Morrison steps out of the corner and Miz ends up jumping onto the middle rope. The fans cheer as Morrison gets his breath back, but as he turns round he sees Miz still seated on the ropes.

The Monday Night Delight pulls him into a tree of woe and stomps him in the chest, over & over with the crowd showing their approval. He backs away and allows Miz to get up, struggling to do so. Miz hobbles out of the corner into Morrison's path, and JoMo's ready for him, firmly kicking him in the gut and sending him face first into the canvas courtesy of a SIT-OUT SUPLEX SLAM!!. . . . . Again the fans cheer as Miz hits the mat, and Morrison doesn't waste any time in going for a cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No! Miz just about manages to get his shoulder up. Morrison takes it on the chin and gets right back up, reaching down to bring Miz up too, setting him up for the THE MOONLIGHT DRIVE (CORKSCREW NECK-BREAKER!!!). . . . . Miz comes to life and fights back, escaping and shoving Morrison into the ropes. Morrison comes back off them and runs into a KITCHEN SINK!!. . . . . Miz caught him and stops his opponent's momentum. He's not a happy boy right now and urges Morrison to get back up, looking ready to explode.

The fans sense the danger and boo as Morrison struggles up to his feet with Miz stalking him, getting ready for the SKULL CRUSHING FINALE!!!. . . . . Boos ring round the arena as Miz grabs his opponent's arms, but Morrison fights back this time and shoves Miz into the ropes. Mr. Hollywood grabs them and holds onto them, then smirks back at Morrison. The Monday Night Delight takes exception to it and runs at Miz, but Miz lifts his boot up into Morrison's face, sending him back pedalling away from the ropes.

Miz smiles again and runs at Morrison as he turns round, but JoMo ducks underneath a clothesline and runs through into the ropes. Miz follows him in as Morrison jumps up onto the ropes for a SPRINGBOARD ENZUIGIRI!!!. . . . . The Miz walked right into it and the fans love it, going wild as Morrison drags his fallen opponent towards the corner and now jumps up the ropes. The fans know what coming but with the lights out, Miz doesn't as Morrison connects with STARSHIP PAIN!!!. . . . . He hit it and it should be over as he hooks the leg and the ref makes the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

A big pop breaks out as Morrison stands up, getting his arm raised with a big smile on his face with "Ain't No Make Believe" playing. He hits the corner again, this time posing for the fans when some boos come from the stands. All of a sudden Morrison's dragged down from the ropes and down to the mat by Zack Ryder. The boos continue as the music cuts and Ryder puts the boots to Morrison, stomping all over him. The Miz gets back up and looks on in confusion at Ryder, both men looking at each other before The Miz joins in and pummels him too. Looking furious after the defeat, Miz holds Ryder back and drags Morrison up by himself, setting him up for the SKULL CRUSHING FINALE!!!. . . . .

Miz stares furiously into the jeering crowd, letting them know what's about to happen when Justin Gabriel charges down the ramp, getting a big pop from the fans. Ryder points it out to The Miz and he lets go of Morrison, scarpering with Ryder as the South African sees them off. He watches them back track up the ramp, both angry with Gabriel saving the day like last week when Ryder attacked Morrison after his match. Gabriel's music hits as he goes to check on Morrison as he sits up, staring up angrily at Ryder & Miz.

Winner: John Morrison by pinfall.

Jim Ross: I can't get over what a sore loser Zack Ryder is King. It was a week ago Morrison beat him but he's still not over it. The Miz is just as bad but thank god Justin Gabriel came t' the rescue again. No one knows how bad a loser Ryder is more than Gabriel.

Jerry Lawler: An' Morrison now too. One day soon though J-R, Ryder's going t' get what's coming to him, I'm sure of it.

The Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus is shown walking through the backstage area, ready for action.

Jim Ross:
We've already seen one title on the line t'night, but in a few moments when we return, Sheamus will defend the Intercontinental title against another Irishman who also likes a good fight in Finlay. You won't want t' miss it folks. We'll be back in just a few minutes.

*Commercial Break*

The Miz & Zack Ryder
are pacing back from the arena through the halls, neither look too happy after what just went down before the break.

Zack Ryder:
Man that Gabriel kid's getting right on my nerves. He's lucky I didn't. . .

They both stop walking as the camera pans to the right to show Eric Bischoff standing there on his cell phone.

Eric Bischoff:
I'll call you back in a sec.

Raw's Head of Authority takes the phone away from his face and looks disapprovingly at the heated duo.

Eric Bischoff:
Well look who it is, the world's worst losers. What's wrong with you? You especially (looking at Ryder). There was no reason f' you t' get involved t'night, just like there was no need f' you to jump Morrison last week, an' you Miz you're just as bad. Well guess what? You're both gonna get the chance t' get some payback next week when you face Morrison an' Gabriel in a tag team match. This time you can do whatever you want to them in the ring 'cause at least it'll be legal this time. Now if you don't mind I've got a call I need t' make.

Bischoff lifts his phone up again and walks off leaving Ryder & Miz turning to each other and smiling, both looking fairly happy to have the chance to meet Morrison & Gabriel next week.

Zack Ryder:
Now that's what I call awesome.

Miz doesn't look too amused at the joke as Ryder smiles with thoughts of next week in mind.

No! The fans cheer as Taker gets his shoulder up but Sheamus is not amused in the least. He stands back up staring with anger into the crowd, giving them some seriously dirty looks as he retreats into the corner, watching intently as Taker sits up looking fairly groggy. The Celtic Warrior has Taker in trouble and he bangs his chest furiously as Taker claws his way back up, and as Taker turns round, Sheamus charges across the mat and takes his head off with the BROGUE KICK!!!. . . . . He nailed it and Taker falls to the mat with Sheamus smirking at the fans before dropping to his knees, thinking he has it in the bag as he hooks the near leg. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3?

No! Taker gets his foot on the rope to the relief of the crowd, but Sheamus sits up in shock to see it there on the rope. He canít believe it and stands up in a huff, staring down furiously at his opponent and he loses it. The Irishman steps through the ropes and jumps down to the floor, walking towards Lilian Garcia and grabbing a steel chair. The fans boo as he heads back to the apron and slides back inside as Taker sits up.

The referee goes right after Sheamus who barges past him, eyes locked on Taker, and as he makes it back up to his feet, Sheamus SMASHES HIM IN THE HEAD WITH THE CHAIR AND THE REF CALLS FOR THE BELL!!!. . . . . The crowd throw a ton of heat at Sheamus as he throws the chair down and stares down at Taker, clearly not regretting his actions as Takerís announced as the winner by DQ. It draws some cheers from the fans as Sheamus turns his head, looking disapprovingly into the crowd as Takerís music hits.

Intercontinental Championship
Finlay vs. Sheamus (c)

These two former rivals & fellow Irishmen have given each other everything with the Intercontinental title on the line. It hasn't been at all easy for Sheamus but he's on top now, trying to make Finlay tap with a camel clutch locked in. The fans try & encourage Finlay to fight it, clapping their hands, and it works. He tries to make it to the ropes, slowly dragging himself across the mat with Sheamus starting to panic as he holds on for dear life. Finlay gets closer and the crowd erupts as he grabs the bottom rope, leaving Sheamus no choice but to let the hold go.

He doesn't until the ref counts to four, fuming as he stands up at having to let the hold go. He steps away from the ropes and watches intently as Finlay slowly claws his way up using the ropes with a hole being burned through the back of his head. He turns round as Sheamus looks set to explode, and he does, going for the BROGUE KICK!!!. . . . . Finlay ducks it and Sheamus turns round in a panic, turning into a stomp to the gut and a SINGLE ARM DDT!!!. . . . . The fans cheer as Finlay turns Sheamus over and makes the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No! Sheamus manages to get his shoulder up to the disappointment of the crowd but Finlay goes straight back to work, not letting it bother him. He again turns Sheamus over, this time to apply an ELEVATED BOSTON CRAB!!. . . . . Sheamus screams out in pain as Finlay applies the pressure to the champion who just about manages to hold on. His title reign's in danger right now as he defiantly tells the ref he's not giving up, and he uses every ounce of fight in his body to turn himself over and kick Finlay off of him.

Finlay jumps back up though and is right on him, but Sheamus sits up and hammers him in the gut with a right hand. He stands back up but Finlay recovers in time to catch him with a SHORT-ARM CLOTHESLINE!. . . . . Sheamus isn't down for long though and hops back up, on the receiving end of a european uppercut. Finlay tries for an irish whip but it's reversed by Sheamus into the IRISH CURSE, A SIDE-SLAM BACK-BREAKER!!!. . . . . Sheamus means business now and goes for the cover, hooking the leg as the ref makes the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

Kick out from Finlay, getting a pop from the fans. Sheamus doesn't like that as he looks into the stands, giving the fans a dirty look before standing up and bringing Finlay with him, setting him up for the HIGH CROSS!!!. . . . . More boos come from the stands as the angry champion looks to put Finlay away, lifting him up above his head and walking out of the corner, but Finlay slips down and turns round quickly to pull Sheamus down into a BACKSLIDE!! . . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

Sheamus kicks out and both men hurry back up to their feet and Finlay ducks a wild clothesline. Both of them to turn back round in a flash and Finlay lifts him up off his feet for the CELTIC CROSS!!!. . . . . Sheamus doesn't let him though and slips down before he can get him in place to shove Finlay into the turnbuckle pads at force. Finlay stumbles forward, dropping to one knee to hit the pads head first.

It gives The Celtic Warrior chance to take a quick breather as Finlay struggles back up, eyes all over the shop. Sheamus though is focused on his opponent, staring at him and taking a couple of steps back, gearing up for something. Finlay doesn't know though and turns round with Sheamus racing across the canvas to nail him with the BROGUE KICK!!!. . . . . Sheamus takes Finlay's head off and drops to his knees to cover his fellow Irishman with the ref making the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

"Written in Your Face" plays to heat from the fans as he's passed his Intercontinental title, raising it up in the air looking very proud of himself. He smirks into the stands and heads over to the apron, asking for a microphone. He gets one as Finlay rolls out of the ring and his music comes to a halt.

Winner: By pinfall, and still the Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus.

Sheamus: In t'ree weeks at the Royal Rumble, not only will I walk out like I am t'night as the Intercontinental Champion (lifts the title up briefly) but as the new WWE Champ-io. . .

*Gong*

"Rest in Peace"
hits and the crowd erupts as the lights go out and smoke blows across the stage. The Undertaker emerges through the smoke to the shock of Sheamus in the ring with the phenom walking menacingly down to the ring, his sights set on The Celtic Warrior. The Irishman watches closely, showing some concern as Taker steps up onto the apron and brings the lights back on to another big pop from the crowd. The Dead-Man calmly enters the ring and removes his jacket, placing it on the ropes with Sheamus watching on, and the Intercontinental Champion definitely looks worried now, even more so as Taker removes his hat with the eyes rolling into the back of his head to a thunderous pop, setting the crowd off in a frenzy.

He places his hat on the pads too and walks into the centre of the ring, glaring right at Sheamus who turns to the crowd, angry as hell as he turns back to stare at Taker. He snaps and runs at Taker, running right onto Taker's right hand. The crowd enjoy it and Sheamus jumps back up into a flurry of shots from The Dead-Man, backing him up against the ropes. Taker fires him into the opposite side and steps out to meet him, driving his boot down the Irishman's throat, again drawing a pop from the fans. Sheamus picks his way back up in a daze, turning round into A CHOKESLAM FROM THE DEAD-MAN!!!. . . . . "Rest in Peace" plays again as the lights go out and Taker drops to one knee, posing for the deafening crowd with purple & white spotlights shining down on the ring and Sheamus laid out, not moving as the camera zooms in on the menacing figure of The Undertaker.

Jim Ross:
T'night Sheamus got what he deserved an' found out that it's never a good idea t' mess with The Dead-Man. He sent Sheamus a message here t'night an' to ev'ryone else in the Royal Rumble.

Jerry Lawler: The more I think about the Royal Rumble J-R the more confused I get. One thing I am sure of though is that we're looking at one of the major contenders right there. He won it two years ago an' I wouldn't be surprised if he did it again.

Jim Ross: There's no doubt about that King. There'll be 30 men hungry to win the Rumble, some more capable than others, but that man right there must be at the top of most people's list as favourite to leave the WWE Champion.

*Commercial Break*

Footage of the WWE Champion, Triple H & The Big Show is shown as they get ready in their separate locker rooms for their main event clash later on.

Jim Ross:
We're in for a real treat t'night folks when The World's Largest Athlete takes on the WWE Champion Triple H in our last main event of 2008. Stay tuned f' that.

Todd Grisham is standing by backstage at the interview set.

Todd Grisham:
Ladies an' gentleman please welcome my guest at this time, Chris Jericho.

The camera zooms out to show standing there, the newest addition to the Raw roster, Chris Jericho.

Todd Grisham:
Chris, last Friday night on Smackdown we saw you make your return where you announced that not only will you be part of the Royal Rumble match but you were coming back to Raw. You made your thoughts on why you weren't happy on Smackdown perfectly clear. What I'd like to know is how you feel about once again being a Raw superstar?

Chris Jericho: It's a strange feeling I've not had for a while. I feel free, no longer restricted t' play second fiddle or less to John Cena being pushed into my limelight. I feel inspired that I now have the opportunity to prove to my former general manager and the entire world that I truly am the best in the world at what I do. No longer am I being held back by someone who abuses his power to throw his friend into main event matches and title matches that ev'rybody knows I should be in. That however is a thing of the past, as in three weeks I will be part of the Royal Rumble match for the WWE Championship. It doesn't end there Todd as I guarantee that not only will I be part of the Royal Rumble, I will win the Royal Rumble and become the new WWE Champion, walking into the main event of the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania as champion.

Todd Grisham: Also Chris before you go, I was passed some information earlier on that I just want t' check with you regarding what happened between you an' Shawn Michaels on Friday night. I understand that this coming week on Smackdown you will be going back to compete against The Heartbreak Kid, is that correct?

Chris Jericho: Your information is indeed correct. After Shawn Michaels sucker punched me three nights ago I asked for a match with him. No one disrespects me like that Todd, not even a so called legend like him. Not only will I defeat Shawn Michaels, I will show him and ev'rybody else why at the Royal Rumble I will be the man t' beat.

Jericho stares directly down the lens, meaning every word he says.

Team Omega w/Shannon Moore
vs. The Epitome of Excellence

The fans are right behind Matt as he brings Kaval up with him, firing him into the corner and running in at him, nailing him with a clothesline. He holds onto Kavalís head and turns round, running out of the corner to plant him with a BULLDOG!!. . . . . Itís getting pretty damn loud in here as Matt stands back up and heads over to the corner, pulling himself up to the second rope. The fans continue to cheer as Matt sizes up Kaval before stepping off the ropes for a DIVING LEG DROP!!. . . . . He hits it and wastes no time in going for the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No! Kaval gets his shoulder up and Matt looks gutted. He quickly shakes it off with the fans still cheering and gets back up, stalking the squirming Kaval for the TWIST OF FATE!!!. . . . . Daniels stands back up and sees the danger as his partner sits up. He races through the ropes and into the ring, running right at Hardy, but Matt sidesteps him and takes him down with a RUSSIAN LEG-SWEEP!!. . . . .

With Daniels down, Matt stands back up to a pop, but he makes a mistake in looking down at Daniels, giving Kaval the chance to run past him into the ropes and jump onto the second rope for the TIDAL WAVE, A SPRING-BOARD ROUNDHOUSE KICK!!!. . . . . Matt falls back to the mat and Kaval scurries across to hook both legs for the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

Helms looks shocked on the apron as Matt rolls out under the bottom rope with Kaval standing up to get his arm raised. With their music playing, Kaval gives Daniels a helping hand up off the mat, but he too doesnít look all that happy despite their victory. Daniels looks over at the announce table and the tag team champions, then walks over to the apron and asks for a microphone, getting one and still looking very angry.

Christopher Daniels: I donít need tí tell anyone how much of a joke this is becoming. Yet again we stand here having been cheated out of the tag team titles. Up Ďtil now weíve played nice up aní trust me, itís best fí you if you do the right thing tí keep it that way by giving us the rematch we deserve, because I promise you this, weíll get one one way or another. . . mark my words.

Daniels drops the mic and both he & Kaval stare intently at the World Tag Team Champions who look back at them, not sure what to make of their rivalsí statement.

_____________________________________________

The music of Christopher Daniels & Kaval, The Epitome of Excellence hits and they stroll out to the stage in their ring gear, not looking at all happy as the fans boo them all the way down to the ring with Daniels picking a microphone up off the apron as he enters the ring. He & Kaval step inside and their music stops, but the boos don't, making Daniels even angrier.

Christopher Daniels:
It appears that no matter how much we speak up about the injustice that we continue to face, nothing is done about it. Anybody who's watched Raw for the last couple of months can be left in no doubt that standing in front of you right now are the rightful World Tag Team Champions.

*Tons of Heat*

Christopher Daniels: For those of you who aren't up t' speed, and basically so we can paint a picture of how ridiculous it is we find ourselves in this position, I'm going to remind you of why exactly this is an injustice. . . Three short months ago a tournament to determine new tag team champions was made, and after we rightfully booked our place in the final we had to watch as the two remaining teams fought to a double count out. This is where the travesty starts. Despite neither team winning that match they were allowed to join us in the final at the Survivor Series despite us winning all our matches. We should have been declared champions there an' then, but we weren't. Then low an' behold at Survivor Series, but with no disrespect t' them, Rey Mysterio an' Mystico won the match without either of us taking the fall.

*Pop*

Christopher Daniels: And for the record as we've pointed out on several occasions we have nothing but professional respect for them as athletes. However that doesn't mean we accept the fact they are the tag team champions instead of us. There was however a silver lining. At Night of Champions just over a week ago we were given a match against them for the titles where yet again we were criminally deprived of the titles that should be around our waists as I speak.

*Heat*

Christopher Daniels: To prove our point I arranged for the footage from the ending of the match to prove it.

*Video Recap*
From Night of Champions!

Rey somehow gets his shoulder up and Daniels canít believe it. He sits up and drives his fist into the canvas, but he sees Rey is barely moving. He stands right back up and drags Rey towards the corner, then in record time he hits the ropes and this time connects with the BEST MOONSAULT EVER!!!. . . . . He got it and reaches to the side, hooking the leg as the ref again counts Reyís shoulders. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

. . . . . 3?

NO! The crowd cheer like mad again as Rey lifts his shoulder up to deny Daniels & Kaval the titles. Daniels canít believe it and shakes his head furiously, shouting out loud. He sees Rey trying to lift his head up off the mat and stands back up, taking a couple of steps back and allows Rey to claw his way back up, and Rey is looking hurt. Daniels loses it and canít wait any longer. He walks over to Rey and fires him into the ropes, but he gets a shock as Rey counters with a SPRINGBOARD REVERSE CROSS BODY!!. . . . .

BUT NO!. . . . . DANIELS DUCKS AND REY TAKES OUT THE REFEREE!!!. . . . . Both men look shocked as the ref hits the deck, Rey more so, and heís left helpless as Daniels spins him round, kicks him in the gut and drills him with the ANGELíS WINGS!!!. . . . . Daniels desperately makes the cover but the refís not able to make the count and Daniels is pissed. He leans back and calls out to Kaval to do something, and his partner jumps down off the apron to grab one of the tag title belts. He slides it into the ring to Daniels who stands up with the belt in hand as Rey comes round with the fans trying to let Rey know heís in danger.

Mysticoís seen whatís happened though and races into the ring, running right at Daniels to take him down with a clothesline. The fans cheer as Daniels hits the mat but holds onto the belt. Kaval canít believe it and storms the ring, running right at Mystico, but the Mexican sees him coming and tosses him over the top and down to the floor. The fans cheer as Mystico looks down at him, but as he turns round he sees Daniels back on his feet with the title. They run at each other and Daniels swings the belt at him, but Mystico ducks it and steals the title from him and NAILS HIM WITH THE GOLD, SENDING DANIELS DOWN TO THE MAT!!!. . . . .

The crowd are going nuts but the ref sits up and sees what happened, then calls for the bell, disqualifying the champions. The decisionís announced by Lilian Garcia that The Epitome of Excellence are the winners by disqualification but that Rey & Mystico remain champions, not that Mystico or Rey look too happy about it as Rey stands back up. Theyíre handed the titles but still donít look too pleased about it as they leave the ring, and Daniels sits up confused as to whatís going on, as does Kaval on the outside with Daniels questioning the referee. He gets angrier as heís told whatís happened with Rey & Mystico walking to the back, leaving Daniels kicking the ropes in the ring.

Daniels & Kaval turn back from looking up at the tron.

Christopher Daniels:
The evidence is there for all t' see, and as we told the so called champions last week, we've played nice up until now. We've protested quietly but not anymore. Enough is enough. We're out here asking the man who brought us here to give us another match where we will finally get our hands on the titles that should've been ours two months ago.

?: Hey, up here.

Up on the tron we see Eric Bischoff stood up in his office, not looking too impressed.

Eric Bischoff:
Well gentleman, you make quite the case. There is however one small problem. . . well two. I've already had enough of people moaning t'night which makes me slightly less receptive to giving you another match. The main problem I have though is that if you think back to that footage you showed, it was indeed Mystico that got disqualified for using the belt, the belt however that you brought into the ring.

Daniels & Kaval don't look too happy with where this is going.

Eric Bischoff:
The way I see it fellas is that you're just as responsible as they are for bringing it into the ring. Had you tried to win the match fair an' square you may well be standing there right now with the belts you've already had your hands in a manner of speaking.

*Small Pop*

Eric Bischoff: So as far as your rematch goes, I'm sorry to disappoint you but you're going t' have to earn one.

*Pop*

Christopher Daniels: Is this some kind of joke? I admit given your decision making in the past in making us compete in a triple threat match when we should. . .

Eric Bischoff: . . . Alright I've heard enough. Whether you like it or not I've made my decision, an' considering your role in what happened at Night of Champions as well as the fact that you didn't win the title match at Survivor Series which Rey an' Mystico did, you don't really have much of a case. You had the same chance that night and at Night of Champions. . .

Christopher Daniels: . . . Excuse me but we didn't lose that match at Survivor Series.

Eric Bischoff: Well you didn't win either an' no amount of moaning will change that. That's not t' say though that you can't find yourselves in with another opportunity in the future if you earn it, an' seeing how you're already in your ring gear, I think I'm going t' let you prove to ev'ryone right now why at some point I should consider giving you another title shot. Good luck guys, I'll be watching. Impress me.

Daniels shakes his head in disgust and Kaval turns angrily to face the unsympathetic crowd.

"I spit in the face of people who don't want t' be cool. . ."

A decent pop meets Carlito and his brother, Eddie Colon who walk out to the stage looking very relaxed indeed and ready for action, smiling at the fans and slapping their hands as they walk down the ramp with Daniels & Kaval getting themselves ready for action.

*Video Recap*
From Last Week!

Cody Rhodes & Joe Hennig
casually walk out into the arena to a chorus of boos from the Hershey crowd. They continue to boo the duo as they make their way down to the ring, and as they step inside, Cody walks over to the opposite side to collect a microphone. His music cuts, allowing him to speak with the fans still booing, not going down well with Cody who waits for them to pipe down.

Cody Rhodes:
As of this moment our World Tag Team Champions find themselves without number one contenders. Last night the now former number one contenders failed to get the job done, meaning that Rey Mysterio aní Mystico need new challengers. It goes without saying that there is no one more deserving than myself aní Joe.

*Heat*

Cody Rhodes:
Simply we have evírything going for us. Aside from our obvious talent, we have a legacy like no other. We were born to succeed in this business. Our fathers are both in the Hall of Fame and one day weíll be there too as the greatest tag team in WWE history.

ďI spit in the face of people who donít want tí be cool. . .Ē

A decent pop breaks out and The Colon Brothers, Carlito & Eddie hit the stage with Carlito holding a microphone, and he holds his hand up, asking for his music to be cut, and it is, but Cody doesnít look happy at all in the ring with the interruption.

Cody Rhodes:
Forgive me fí being rude, but how dare you interrupt me.

Carlito: As it happens Cody, thereís a reason weíre out here. Basically we heard what ju just said aní thereís something we waníed tí say too tí you aní your pretty little boyfriend.

The crowd laugh but Cody & Hennig arenít amused in the least.

Carlito:
Hey look, thereís another team who waní a shot at the tag team titles, aní like you, our fatherís in the Hall of Fame too. What ju gotta say about dat Cody?

Cody Rhodes: Well actually there is one thing I have tí say about that, well ask. Who exactly is your father?

Thereís an intake of breath from the fans as Cody looks up intently at Carlito & Eddie, and they donít look at all impressed with him & his big mouth.

Cody Rhodes:
Iím kidding of course. I know who you are father is. Well more I was told when I asked who on earth he was when he was inducted in the first place and I know that Iím not the only one who wasnít sure who he was. In fact Iím sure most of these people donít know who he is either so Iíll tell them. Basically heís some guy from. . . what country is it? I think it was Puerto Rico right? Anyway it doesnít matter, no one knows who cares about him or what country heís from. All I care about is itís a joke heís in the Hall of Fame, just like you two thinking you deserve a shot at the tag titles, let alone being out here with someone whose fathers have actually accomplished something and deserve tí be in the Hall of Fame.

*Heat*

Carlito:
Huh. Ju can talk about our father all ju want but weíre proud of him aní what heís done fí us aní evíryone back home in Puerto Rico, aní ju two, youíre not as special as ju think.

Cody Rhodes: Thatís funny, but if you actually believe that. . .

Carlito: . . . We do, aní thereís a way tí prove it, if ju got the guts dat is. How about ju aní me have a match. . . right now?

*Pop*

Cody Rhodes:
You want a match with me?

Cody laughs with Hennig before looking back up at Carlito & Eddie.

Cody Rhodes:
Thatís one of the funniest things Iíve heard in a long time. Youíre on.

***

Carlito w/Eddie Colon
vs. Cody Rhodes w/Joe Hennig

Cody just gets his shoulder up and Carlito canít believe it, looking stunned, as does Eddie on the outside. Carlito grudgingly stands back up and watches Cody as he struggles his way back up. Hennig panics and jumps up onto the apron, not going down well with Carlito. He walks across the mat with the referee, both getting into it with Hennig as Cody makes it back up. Carlito turns back as the ref deals with Hennig, but Cody runs right at Carlito.

The Puerto Rican sees him coming and steps to the side with Cody just about putting on the brakes before running into his partner. Eddie runs round on the outside as Carlito slips behind a relieved Cody to hit the BACK-STABBER!!!. . . . . The fans cheer as Eddie pulls Hennig off the apron and knocks him to the floor as his brother on the inside pulls Cody away from the ropes and hooks both legs for the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

ďCoolĒ hits again and Eddie joins his brother in the ring, both enjoying his victory as Cody rolls to the outside, and as both he & Hennig sit up, they donít look pleased to see The Colons enjoying Carlitoís victory and the Puerto Rican duo laughing at them, infuriating Rhodes & Hennig.

*Match 5*
The Colon Brothers
vs. The Epitome of Excellence

Before the match started, both teams were joined by Cody Rhodes & Joe Hennig who have watched throughout from the stage, causing some unease for the Puerto Rican siblings. Cody & Joe have enjoyed seeing Daniels & Kaval take it to Carlito & Eddie, but right now the tide has turned in the favour of the Colons. The fans are right behind them and Daniels looks worried on the apron as Eddie looks to keep his momentum going, monkey flipping Kaval out of the corner and down to the mat. The younger brother heads up to the top rope with the fans cheering as he gets up there. His eyes are focused on Kaval and quickly leaps into the air, coming down on Kaval for a HIGH ANGLE SENTON BOMB!!. . . . . He hit it and shimmies round on the mat, rushing to make the cover, hooking the leg as the ref drops to his knees to make the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

No! Kaval gets his shoulder up and Eddie looks disappointed as he sits up. Carlito shows him some encouragement and he stands back up, walks over to his corner and tags in his older brother. Daniels is looking concerned in his partner's corner, and Cody & Joe aren't enjoying seeing Carlito enter the ring to a pop from the supportive crowd. He watches Kaval make it back up, now runs at him, driving his knee into the side of Kaval's head. Kaval spins round in a daze as Carlito hits the ropes and comes back to take him down with a clothesline. Again the fans cheer as Kaval bravely picks himself back up.

Carlito's pumped up for this one and runs past him into the ropes, jumping onto the second rope to hit a SPRINGBOARD BACK ELBOW SMASH!!. . . . . The fans are loving this as again Kaval claws his way back up, and this time Carlito gives him a helping hand. He tries for an irish whip but Kaval reverses it and ducks his head. Carlito comes back and back flips over his opponent's head to the shock of Kaval, but that's not as it Carlito grabs his head and sends him spiralling down to the mat with the OVERDRIVE!!!. . . . . Big cheers come from the stands as Carlito goes right for the cover, not wasting a second. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No! Daniels breathes a sigh of relief as Kaval gets his shoulder up. Cody & Joe are also looking relieved as Carlito grudgingly leans back on his knees. The groggy Kaval lifts his head up off the mat and Carlito is forced back into action, jumping back up to his feet. He runs into the ropes, again jumping onto the ropes for a SPRINGBOARD MOONSAULT!!. . . . . No, Kaval lifts his knees up into the Puerto Rican's gut and Carlito rolls around on the mat clutching his stomach with Eddie looking worried. Rhodes & Hennig enjoy it though and Daniels is desperate for the tag, leaning over the top rope and urging his partner to get across to him.

The fans will Carlito to do the same as both he & Kaval crawl across the mat, both managing to tag in their partners. The focused Daniels steps through the ropes but Eddie jumps over them and they run at each other with Eddie sliding through Daniels legs to run through into the ropes, running back and connecting with a SPINNING WHEEL KICK!. . . . . More cheers come from the crowd as Eddie races back up, followed by Daniels who walks into a dropkick to the knee. Eddie's bang up for this and turns back into the ropes, storming back to nail Daniels with a SIT-OUT DROPKICK TO THE FACE!!. . . . . He caught him right in the kisser and wastes no time going for the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

Daniels gets the shoulder up and Kaval thanks the lord this time, but Eddie goes right back to work. He jumps back up and heads over to the corner, climbing up to the summit with the fans again willing him up there as Daniels wearily picks himself back up. He turns round in a spin and Eddie leaps off the top, coming through the skies for a DIVING CROSS BODY!!. . . . . BUT NO, DANIELS COUNTERS WITH A STANDING DROPKICK TO THE CHEST!!. . . . . Eddie crash lands with Carlito watching, feeling his pain as an intense Daniels sits up, staring angrily at his fallen opponent. Daniels means business as he stands back up, not taking his eyes off Eddie and he drags him into the corner.

He looks into the crowd and shouts out "BEST MOONSAULT EVER!", hitting the ropes and coming down on Eddie, but Eddie gets his knees up to another big pop. Carlito claps his hand, encouraging & supporting his younger brother as he sits up in the corner with Daniels rolling away from the corner. Both men are suffering as they claw their way back up, both clearly wanting to get the win as Eddie runs out at Daniels who catches him and looks for a TILT-A-WHIRL BACK-BREAKER!!. . . . . EDDIE COUNTERS WITH TILT-A-WHIRL HEAD-SCISSORS TO ANOTHER BIG ROAR FROM THE CAPACITY CROWD!!. . . . . Again both men make their way back up. Daniels is reeling and Eddie leaps up into the skies for a HURRICANRANA, AND IT'S PERFECT!!! . . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

NO! Daniels kicks out and Eddie again shrugs off the disappointment as he gets back up and brings Daniels with him. He fires him into the corner and charges in at him, connecting with a BIG SPLASH!!. . . . . Daniels staggers out into his path and Eddie goes for a STUNNER!!!. . . . . Daniels pulls back though and Eddie turns round in a hurry, turning round into a SIDE SLAM BACK-BREAKER!!!. . . . . That has to hurt it and clearly it does as Eddie rolls around in agony, but Daniels crawls forward on his knees to turn him back over and make the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No! Eddie gets his shoulder up to the relief of the crowd & Carlito, but Daniels isn't at all happy. He slowly makes his way back up and walks into his corner to tag Kaval back in, telling him to finish it. He tries just that with Carlito looking worried now as Kaval steps through the ropes and watches menacingly as Eddie claws his way up to his knees. He tries to make it up to his feet and Kaval flies into action, storming past him into the ropes, going for the springboard and the TIDAL WAVE, A SPRINGBOARD ROUNDHOUSE!!!. . . . . Eddie ducks his head to the shock of Kaval as he lands on his feet and Eddie connects with the BACKSTABBER!!!. . . . .

A huge pop breaks out but he can't take advantage just yet. Cody looks furious and heads off down the ramp, stomping down and ordering Hennig to follow, and he does. Carlito sees them coming and jumps off the apron, walking over to the base of the ramp. He tells them to get back and they stop, gearing up for a fight as Eddie sits up and looks on, confused as to what's going on. He stands up and walks over to the apron, trying to get his brother to come back, oblivious to Kaval slowly making his way back up. The crowd try to warn him as Kaval does get back up and runs in behind him to roll him up, using the ropes for leverage with both feet on them. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

Eddie kicks out and Carlito turns round hearing the crowd. With the ref's eyes on the match, Eddie doesn't see Cody take a cheap shot from behind on Carlito as both Eddie & Kaval make their way back up. Eddie ducks a wild right hand and tries for an irish whip, but it's reversed by Kaval and Eddie hits the ropes. He holds onto them though, pissing Kaval off no end and he races right at him, running into a raised boot. It sends him staggering away as the fired-up crowd cheer Eddie again as he runs at Kaval, but this time Kaval strikes him with a stiff kick to the chest, putting Eddie on one knee. Kaval's looking fierce now as he runs past Eddie into the ropes and this time connects with the TIDAL WAVE!!!. . . . . Eddie looks out and Kaval goes for the cover as Carlito stands back up on the outside and panics at seeing the ref making the count. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3?

Yes! Carlito dives in the ring but it's too late as Daniels' & Kaval's music hits. Daniels joins his partner in the ring, neither looking too happy as they get their arms raised, pulling back quickly with Rhodes & Hennig back tracking up the ramp laughing as Carlito sits up looking disappointed. The Epitome of Excellence leave the ring, looking angrily into the crowd as they go with Carlito going over to check on his weary looking younger brother after a brave effort from the impressive Eddie.

Winners: The Epitome of Excellence by pinfall.

Jim Ross: Well if Eric Bischoff wan'ed The Epitome of Excellence to prove their worth t'night they sure did that, an' it looks like Cody Rhodes an' Joe Hennig enjoyed their victory more than Daniels an' Kaval are doing right now.

Jerry Lawler: I don't think they'll be happy until they're the tag team champions J-R, although after what Bischoff said, it might be a long time coming, if ever.

Kofi Kingston's brother, Jay Lethal is shown walking through the back, headed for the ring and he looks ready for his big debut.

Jim Ross:
Up next folks we'll see that man right there, Jay Lethal make his Raw debut. His brother Kofi Kingston will be watching. Make sure you do the same when we come back in just a couple of minutes.

*Video Recap*
From Last Week!

Jay
, Kofi Kingstonís brother walks out to the stage and stops, getting boos thrown at him from the fans, not that he looks bothered as he heads down to the ring. The boos continue as he enters the ring and collects a microphone, staring into the crowd with something clearly on his mind that he wants to get out of his system.

Jay:
Last night my brother got exactly what he deserved. He got what heís deserved fí a long long time aní I loved evíry minute of it.

*Heat*

Jay:
You can boo me all you want but Kofi got what he deserved for walking out on his family all those years ago. He walked out on me, but more importantly he walked out on our mother, leaving her without having the guts tí say goodbye. Thatís why Iím glad he lost last night aní I donít regret what I did. Iíve waited a long time tí do what I did aní Iím not sorry one bit. You all might like Kofi but the fact is heís selfish, heís gutless aní deep down he knows i. . .

ďS.O.S.Ē

A massive roar breaks out and Kofi Kingston walks out into the arena, not in a good mood at all as he stomps down the ramp, eyes fixed firmly on his brother who stares right back at him. Kofi steps inside and shrugs his way past Jay to get a microphone, then turns back staring angrily at him.

Kofi Kingston:
You done?

Jay: Not by a long shot. Iíve waited a long time tí say. . .

Kofi Kingston: . . . No, Iím telliní yíJay, youíre done. . . You wanna know somethiní? I was gonna take this with me to my grave, but since youíre hell bent on makiní my life hell I think itís time I told you the truth. . . See all this time you thought I walked out on you, on mom, I didnít. Yeah I mightíve left without telliní you but mom, she knew aní she gave me her blessing. It was my. . .

Jay: . . .Yeah right. Donít you think youíve lied enough?

Kofi Kingston: Itís the truth. It was my idea not tí tell you. That way youíd be pissed me aní not mom. I didnít want you blaminí mom fí me leaviní. I didnít want you hatiní her. It wasnít fair on her, but me. With me gone it didnít matter how much you hated me. Iím not gonna stand here aní say I feel good about what I did but I had a chance tí do what Iíve always waníed tí do, what you knew I always waníed tí do when I grew up, aní here I am. Do I regret what happened? Damn right. Do I regret cominí here? Hell no.

*Pop*

Kofi Kingston: This is what Iíve waníed fí so long. You know that better than anyone bro. . .

Jay: . . . HEY, first off, donít call me bro, aní donít think I canít see what youíre doiní. You might be able tí fool these people but you canít fool me. I know youíre a liar Ďcause thatís what youíve been doiní since you walked out on us. You people need to realise what heís really like. Heís not the person you think he is. Heís nothing but a lying bitch.

Kofi Kingston: Yíknow what? Iíve told you the truth. If you donít wanna believe it, thatís your problem not mine.

Jay: Is that right? Let me see if I can change your mind.

Jay gets right up close to Kofi, getting right in his face, talking smack and he spits in his face. The crowd canít believe it and boo him as Kofi wipes the saliva from his face. Kofi looks stunned and gets real angry with Jay staring right at him without an ounce of regret, and it looks like Kofiís about to punch him, but he stops himself and turns away. Jay looks furious and jumps on his brotherís back, clubbing him down to the mat and he keeps on pummelling to a ton of heat from the Pennsylvanian crowd. He backs away as Kofi sits up, struggling to make it back up before Jay nails him with the Trouble in Paradise, getting even more heat. He coldly stares down at his brother lying there before turning round and heading back up the ramp with the fans booing the hell out of him.

***

Kofi Kingston & Jay are being held apart in the back by a group of officials with Kofi desperate to get at his brother with Jay taunting him when Eric Bischoff walks into the shot.

Eric Bischoff:
HEY, break it up, now.

The officials ease up on them and they listen to Bischoff, still staring at each other though.

Eric Bischoff:
This has got tí stop aní Iím sure as hell not gonna let this happen evíry week. The way I see it thereís only way weíre gonna settle this, aní I heard what yísaid Kofi but thereís no way round it. You will have tí fight him, in the ring, at the Royal Rumble, aní just tí make it a bit more intíresting, the winner will get a spot in the rumble match. Now get them the hell out of here before thereís any more trouble.

Security do as theyíre told and escort them out of the building with Bischoff watching, making sure they leave the arena.

*Match 6*
Shannon Moore w/Matt Hardy & Gregory Helms
vs. Jay Lethal

The crowd really haven't taken to Lethal at all, not that he's been bothered by it, purely focused on earning a debut victory. Moore's resiliency is grating on him now though as he again looks to put him away, this time going for a submission hold with Moore on the mat, locking in the FIGURE FOUR LEG LOCK!!!. . . . . Moore's hurting but Hardy & Helms, his Team Omega team-mates rally round to get the fans behind him and encourage him themselves, leaning on the apron on the outside. It works and he fights it, feeling the crowd's support, but again Lethal blocks it out and applies the pressure as Moore drags himself across the mat and towards the ropes.

Matt & Helms again will him to the ropes, and he gets there, getting a pop from the fans. Lethal isn't impressed though as he lets the hold go and is told to stay back from his opponent by the referee. He has none of it and drags Moore back up, firing him into the opposite set of ropes. As Moore bounces off them Lethal runs out to meet him, but Moore ducks underneath and runs through into the ropes, running back and taking him down with a SPINNING WHEEL KICK!. . . . . Both men race back up and Moore ducks a wild clothesline and explodes with an ENZUIGIRI!!!. . . . . The crowd love it and Moore flies across to make the cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No! Kick out from Lethal and the disappointment shows on Moore's face. He leans back and runs his hands through his hair, but again Matt & Helms show him their support, willing him back into action. Moore sees Lethal coming round and he stands back up, heading into the corner and climbs up to the top rope as Lethal claws his way back up, eyes all over the shop. He doesn't look like he knows where he is as Moore comes off the top with a DIVING CROSS BODY!! . . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

Another kick out from Lethal as both men pick themselves back up. Moore strikes first with a right hand, and another. Lethal slumps forward and Moore turns back into the ropes, runs back right into a SPINNING SPINE-BUSTER FROM LETHAL!!. . . . . The crowd don't like that as Kofi Kingston's brother sits up and stares into the stands giving them a disapproving look before standing back up. He confidently walks to the corner and heads up to the top rope with Moore still flat on his back.

With the fans booing, Lethal steps off the top and leaps across the ring for a DIVING ELBOW DROP!!. . . . . No, Moore moves and Lethal hits the deck. The fans cheer and again Matt & Helms try to encourage Moore as he starts to stir, sensing this could be his chance as Lethal sits up, looking to be sore from that landing. They both hobble back up to their feet and Moore blocks a right hand, then kicks Lethal in the gut. Lethal slumps forward and Moore's feeling it as he flips forward for a SUNSET FLIP. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

Lethal kicks out and both men pick themselves back up with Moore up first. He runs into the ropes and comes back as Lethal springs into action, catching him with a LEG LARIAT!!. . . . . Lethal looks to get the momentum back as he & Moore hurry up as quickly as they can, and Lethal shifts behind Moore, lifting him up for a belly-to-back suplex but he drops it into a NECK-BREAKER!!!. . . . . Matt & Helms look shocked at that move as Lethal wastes no time in going for a cover. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . .

No! Moore gets the shoulder up again and Lethal really isn't happy this time, staring over at Hardy & Helms clapping their Team Omega team-mate's resilience. Lethal signals for the end and drags the almost lifeless Moore back up, setting him up for what appears to be a side slam. Lethal stares intensely into the crowd before forcing Moore forward into an STO BACK-BREAKER, BUT HE HOLDS ON AND SNAPS HIM BACK WITH A REVERSE STO!!!. . . . . Lethal just drove Moore face first into the canvas and shifts round to make the cover, hooking both legs with Matt & Helms looking on nervously as the ref drops to his knees and counts the fall. . . . .

1. . . . .

2. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

The bell rings and Lethal's music hits to heat from the fans as the referee raises his arm in victory, an impressive debut victory for Kofi's brother. He strolls forward into the ropes and stares into the crowd, an intense look from the man who'll meet his brother at the Royal Rumble for a shot in the Rumble match and the WWE Championship.

Winner: Jay Lethal by pinfall.

Jim Ross: I don't know about you King but I was very impressed by Lethal t'night. I think Kofi might be in f' more of a fight at the Rumble than he might've thought.

Jerry Lawler: You might be right J-R. That sure was impressive an' you can tell he means business.

We're taken backstage and Kofi Kingston is indeed watching his brother on a monitor, and he too looks surprised by his brother's debut performance when he's approached from behind by Todd Grisham.

Todd Grisham:
Kofi can I get a word with you for a moment?

Kofi turns round, caught surprised by Todd.

Kofi Kingston:
Sure Todd what's up dog?

Todd Grisham: I just wanted t' get your thoughts on your brother Jay's victory over Shannon Moore just now.

Kofi Kingston: Yeah I gotta tell y'Todd I didn't have a clue what to expect but he did a good job t'night. I didn't know he'd be that good. It sure as hell ain't gonna be easy at the Rumble if he brings it like he did just now.

Todd Grisham: I hate to ask given the difficult circumstances this match came about but how are you feeling about facing your brother at the Royal Rumble, especially with what's at stake for the winner?

Kofi Kingston: I ain't gonna lie. It's not exactly been easy gettin' used to all this y'know. He was the one who wan'ed all this, showin' up out o'nowhere. I never wan'ed t' fight my brother but the bottom line is I've always wan'ed a shot at the WWE title, an' if that means I've gotta go through Jay an' beat my brother t' get there, then that's what I've gotta do. As much as I don't wanna get in the ring with Jay an' beat 'im, that's what I'm gonna do.

The camera zooms in on Kofi as he thinks about everything he'll have to deal with emotionally in three weeks at the Royal Rumble.

We get to see a split screen of The Big Show & Triple H, the WWE Champion as they head towards the production area, both fired-up the main event coming up next.

Jim Ross:
We're just a matter of moments away from our main event folks. The WWE Champion Triple H meets The Big Show when we return. I guarantee you won't want t' miss it. Don't go anywhere.

The Big Show vs. Triple H

The WWE Champion's mood wasn't helped when Eric Bischoff took up position at ringside before Big Show's & The Game's entrances. Sat on a steel chair close to the announce table, Bischoff watched closely and still does as Show & Triple H take it to each other. The WWE Champion's showed some serious resolve and found a way to ground the giant, working over his left leg. Triple H takes great pleasure in placing Show's leg on the bottom rope in front of Bischoff, staring right at the Head of Authority.

Bischoff looks back, not impressed as The Game jumps off the mat and brings all his weight down on Show's lower leg. Even the seven-foot plus monster screams out in pain, and again as Trips stomps down on him a second time. The King of Kings focuses back firmly on just his opponent, pulling him slightly away from the ropes, applying a LEG LOCK ON SHOW!!. . . . . Show's hurting but the fans clap and chant his name, trying to help him with The Game more focused than ever desperately trying to make Show tap. He doesn't though and Show holds on, just, but the support increases with the fans desperate too.

Show responds and kicks at Trips with his right boot, and he breaks free to a pop. Bischoff's shown watching on with interest as The Game stands back up with Show struggling up, and the WWE Champion doesn't let him and chop blocks him back down. He grabs Show's left leg again and spins round to apply the FIGURE FOUR LEG LOCK!!. . . . . No, Show kicks him away with force into the turnbuckle pads. The fans cheer as both men feel the pain, but they both try & work their way back up. The Game runs out at Show, right into a clothesline.

The fans cheer as Trips rushes back up, but Show's waiting for him and head-butts him down to the mat. Again the WWE Champion makes his way back up with Show giving him a helping hand, but Trips hammers him on the way up with a shot to the gut. Show slumps forward holding his stomach as The Game turns back into the ropes, runs back at his opponent, right back into a SIDEWALK SLAM!!. . . . . Show planted him right into the canvas and the fans love it, cheering as he reaches across to hook the leg. . . . .

The Game gets his shoulder up and lives to fight another day as Bischoff is shown again, watching on as Show stands up like a man on a mission. He drags Triple H up with him and scissors him between his legs, staring into the crowd and letting out a giant roar before lifting Triple H up above his head. The fans cheer again as he lifts him up, but Show steps back and tosses The Game backwards into the pads thanks to a REVERSE THROWN POWER-BOMB!!!. . . . . That could well do it, and Show thinks so too as he drags Triple H away from the corner by his legs. Trips isn't moving and Show turns his lifeless body over to make the cover. . . . .

NO!

The Game's still got some fight and lifts his shoulder up to the disappointment of the fans. Show sits up not looking too happy either, but he knows he's on the brink as he calmly stands back up with The Game starting to stir. The giant watches him every step of the way as he struggles up to his knees, and Show pulls away his straps and lifts his right hand up in the air, signalling for the CHOKE-SLAM!!!. . . . . The end could be near for the WWE Champion and the fans know it, as does Bischoff as he leans forward on the chair.

Trips doesn't know what it's waiting for him, and as he turns round into Show's path he's grabbed by the throat. Show lifts him up off the canvas but The Game quickly slips down and kicks his left leg. Show's slumps down and Triple H takes full advantage to drill him with a SINGLE ARM DDT!!!. . . . . Show's head's drilled into the mat and he could be out for the count. Triple H thinks so too and quickly rolls him over onto his back and hooks the leg for the cover. . . . .

No, Show gets his shoulder up to a pop from the crowd. The Game sits up frustrated and sees Show coming round as well and he stands back up, taking his time as Show makes it up to his knees. The WWE Champion glances across at Bischoff before stomping Show in the gut and setting him up for the PEDIGREE!!. . . . . He struggles to get Show in place but he does and he stares intensely into the crowd as they boo, but they turn to cheers as Show counters with a BACK BODY DROP!!. . . . . Cheers rally round the arena as The Game uses the ropes to pull himself back up as an angry giant also picks himself back up.

His eyes are fixed firmly on Triple H, and as The Game turns round, Show runs right at him and clotheslines him over the top. Trips lands on the floor in front of the announce table, a few feet away from Bischoff with the fans cheering. Show stays where he is as the ref begins to count, and The Game crawls towards the apron, reaching underneath it to pull out a sledgehammer. The fans boo and Bischoff shoots up off his seat to grab the sledgehammer out of The Game's hands. Trips looks up furiously as the referee & Show look on, shocked as Bischoff keeps hold of the sledgehammer as Triple H makes his way back up.

The Game gets in his face but Bischoff stands his ground, but as the count gets to eight, The Game slides back in the ring, staring down at Bischoff standing there with the sledgehammer. He turns round and runs at Show in a panic, right into a CHOKE-SLAM GRIP!!!. . . . . Triple H fights out though and stomps him in the gut, turns back into the ropes and runs back, right into a KNOCK-OUT PUNCH, THE WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION!!!. . . . . The fans go nuts it and Show coolly drops to his knees and makes the cover as the ref counts the fall. . . . .

. . . . . 3!

It's over and Show beats the WWE Champion, much to the satisfaction of Bischoff on the outside who drops the sledgehammer down on the floor. He applauds Show as he gets his arm raised with "Crank It Up" playing, and The World's Largest Athlete has a big smile on his face as he walks over to the ropes in front of Bischoff and smiles down at him before lifting his giant hand up in the air for the fans enjoying his victory. The smile disappears from Bischoff's face, looking shocked as Big Show is attacked from behind by Chris Jericho, chop blocking him down to the mat.

The music stops and boos ring out around the arena as Jericho puts the boots to Show with the ref trying to pull him away, and he just about manages. Jericho then takes a look down at Bischoff and smirks, then watches as Show struggles back up to his feet, hobbling away from the ropes, right into the CODE-BREAKER FROM JERICHO!!!. . . . . More boos are thrown at Jericho as "Break Down The Walls" hits with the Raw returnee soaking the heat up without a care in the world with Bischoff looking at him angrily and Triple H sitting up confused & angry as Raw comes to a close.

Winner: The Big Show by pinfall.

Jim Ross: I f' one wasn't expecting t' see Chris Jericho out here, much like Triple H wasn't expecting t' be the number one entrant in the Royal Rumble when he arrived t'night.

Jerry Lawler: Well that's what the Royal Rumble does t' you J-R. It's ev'ry man f' himself, and with the WWE title on the line it makes it even worse.

Jim Ross: There is so much at stake this time around an' The Game found out t'night just how difficult a job he has retaining his title in three weeks.

Jerry Lawler: He couldn't beat one man t'night. Granted it was The Largest Athlete in the world but how is he going t' beat 29 men if he can't beat one?

Jim Ross: We'll find out very soon King but folks that brings us to the end of the show an' 2008 as far as Raw is concerned. Thanks f' watching all year. We'll see you next week. Happy New Year folks, take care.
