Friday Night Smackdown Preview
Friday 31st October 2008
Long Beach Sports Arena
Long Beach, California

Last Friday night we saw John Cena unveil his team for the Survivor Series when he’ll lock horns with the World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk, and now we know the four men he’s chosen to take in to battle against Cena next weekend. Last week we got a preview of that huge match where Cena will be fighting to earn himself a shot at Punk’s world title, and Cena himself was in for a shock. He went up against Shelton Benjamin and found himself on the wrong end of a defeat when Chris Jericho marked his return to Smackdown by venting the same frustration as Punk that he’s been handed the opportunity he has by Tazz. The self proclaimed best in the world played his part in Cena’s defeat, and barely an hour later Punk told WWE.com that both Jericho & Benjamin would join himself, his rookie, Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez & Edge on his team against Cena at Survivor Series.

We also saw Punk & Del Rio-Ramirez in action against two members of Team Cena in Bobby Lashley & Charlie Haas, and the in-form duo kept their winning streak going by picking up a surprise victory after Haas made the World Champion’s rookie to tap out to the Haas of Pain. Elsewhere Edge was in action against the United States Champion & King of the Ring, Matt Sydal, and after demanding & failing to get a match with Edge earlier in the evening, Christian made his presence felt and brought a halt to the contest that saw Edge awarded the victory by disqualification. The fire has been well & truly lit between these two teams and with just over a week to go until they collide at Survivor Series fireworks are to be expected this Friday night in Long Beach.

They aren’t the only two teams who’ll be colliding next Sunday night as Shawn Michaels will lead his troops in to war against the team The Miz has called ‘The Awesome Team’. Just like John Cena, The Heartbreak Kid last week unveiled the final members of his team, doing so after one of them, Elijah Burke defeated a member of Team Miz in Jack Swagger. The All-American American will be in action again this week as he takes on the debuting Bryan Danielson, the final member of Team HBK. Michaels told the world that he trained Danielson and called him one of the best in the world today. It looks like we & Swagger in particular will find out just how good he is this week. Will it be a winning debut for Danielson to keep Team HBK’s momentum going in to Survivor Series?

The final place on Team Smackdown for the Battle of the Brands will be decided this week when Santino Marella takes on the Cruiserweight Champion, Johnny Jeter. The two of them have had their issues as of late, and a couple of weeks ago Jeter played a part in Santino’s elimination in the Battle Royal to determine the number one contender for his cruiserweight title. Santino won’t have the chance to take Jeter’s title but he does have another opportunity awaiting him, and if he can defeat Jeter this week he must surely find his way in to contention for a title opportunity. We also saw Smackdown superstars invade Raw again on Monday night and Raw’s team captain, Sheamus swore he’d be on hand this Friday night in Long Beach. Will we saw Team Raw look to get even? Tune in to find out.

Two of the men who were added to Team Smackdown after last week’s show have been thrown in to action again this week, however this time they’ll be on the same team again instead of fighting each other. Paul London & Brian Kendrick went at it last week in a very competitive match, and after all the problems they’ve had this year, some may see it as a mistake by Tazz to put them on Team Smackdown and on the same team this week. We’ll find out whether it was a mistake or not when they meet The Empire, and they too were busy making an impression last week when they vowed to become the next WWE Tag Team Champions, giving The UK Pack a piece of their mind, not that it went down well with the champions who were looking to resolve their own problems that have seen them struggle to get along recently. It sure promises to be an eventful week in California!

Last week saw J-Red challenge Johnny Jeter for the Cruiserweight Championship, and he looked like he was on his way to becoming the new champion until his mentor, Chavo Guerrero ensured that didn’t happen. Moments later Red went after his mentor and went at it with him backstage until they were pulled apart. Will Red be gunning for him again this week?

Michelle McCool got a close look at the Diva’s Champion, Beth Phoenix in action last week when The Glamazon made light work of Jillian Hall. This week it will be McCool’s chance to make an impression as she gears up for her title match against Beth. Will she be able to match up to The Glamazon’s level?

With just over a week to go until the Survivor Series, anything can and probably will happen when the stars of Smackdown roll in to Long Beach this Friday night. Make sure you don’t miss all the thrills & spills and tune in live to make sure you don’t miss a thing!

>Confirmed for This Week on Smackdown<

Winner Joins Team Smackdown for Battle of the Brands at Survivor Series
Non-Title Match
Santino Marella vs. Johnny Jeter

Plus

Bryan Danielson vs. Jack Swagger

Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. The Empire

The number one contender for the WWE Diva’s Championship, Michelle McCool in action

Friday Night Smackdown
Friday 31st October 2008
Live from the Long Beach Sports Arena
Long Beach, California

*Opening Video*
“If You Rock Like Me”

*Video Recap*
From Last Week

“My Time is Now”
is playing to a huge pop with John Cena stood in the middle of the ring in front of the United States Champion, Matt Sydal, the team of Bobby Lashley & Charlie Haas and a very serious looking Christian. Captain Charisma doesn’t look at all happy, somewhat distracted while Sydal, Lashley & Haas all stand happily behind Cena who’s got a microphone in hand as his music cuts, bringing out a strong mixed reception, mainly positive from the capacity crowd here in Biloxi, Mississippi.

John Cena:
In just two weeks it’s the Survivor Series, an’ that means I’ll be leadin’ a team, this team, this group of superstars standin’ behind me t’night t’ take on another team, a team who’ll be led by none other than our World Heavyweight Champion, C-M Punk.

*Heat*

John Cena: That’s right. . . C-M Punk. Now I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but it seems he’s got a fairly low opinion of me, but y’know what? I couldn’t care less. It ain’t anythin’ I’ve not heard already. He can say what he wants about me, it don’t make a blind bit o’ diff’rence, but Punk let me tell y’somethin’ ‘cause this is somethin’ y’need t’ hear champ’. You said a couple o’ weeks ago there wasn’t a single person in that locker room who wan’ed me here, who’d wanna help me out against you at Survivor Series, well guess what? Take a look behind me Punk. What d’ y’see? Let me answer that for ya. That’s my team, the guys who are more than happy t’ help me out against you an’ whoever else helps you out, an’ I want you t’ know Punk you better be ready. You thought I wouldn’t get a team t’gether well take a look. There they are an’ I couldn’t be happier. I’ve got the hottest team in the W-W-E t’day in Bobby Lashley an’ Charlie Haas.

*Pop*

John Cena: Oh wait, that ain’t all. Take another look ‘cause standin’ right there is Captain Charisma himself, CHRISTIAN.

With the crowd cheering, the camera zooms in on a still extremely serious look Christian who doesn’t acknowledge the crowd or Cena.

*Big Pop*

John Cena: An’ this man needs no mention. Not only is he the United States Champion an’ the two thousand an’ eight King of the Ring. He’s the man who last week in this ring beat C-M Punk. I give you MATT SYDAL.

*Big Pop*

John Cena: These are the guys that are gonna make sure Team Punk’s goin’ down at Survivor Series, an’ Punk as much as you wanna bitch about it an’ maybe rightly so, after we’re done goin’ through you an each o’ your guys, you’ll be lookin’ at the number one contender for the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP.

“This Fire Burns”

To a barrage of boos the World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk strolls out to the stage in his ring gear and a T-shirt along with his rookie, Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez by his side. The Mexican looks in a fairly bad mood while Punk with a microphone appears to be quite calm, amused even, looking down at Cena with a smirk on his face. Team Cena with the exception of Christian turn and look up at the World Champion and his music is cut by the guys in the truck.

CM Punk:
Wow, where do I start?. . . John, the crap that comes out of your mouth astounds me more an’ more with ev’ry passing week. What I will say is you are right about one thing. Yeah it sure is gonna be a war at Survivor Series, of that I assure you but before I get t’ Survivor Series an’ the whole charade of a contest I have to address what happened last week when in that ring you an’ your team are in right now I lost t’ Matt Sydal.

*Big Pop*

Punk smiles, as does the United States Champion.

CM Punk:
Now I’m not looking t’ take anything away from you Matt ‘cause you did a heck of a job. It’s just we both know why I lost that match. It’s because yet again ev’ryone’s favourite superhero just had t’ steal the limelight an’ get involved didn’t y’John? You just couldn’t stand by an’ watch could ya? But y’know what? I understand. I understand it must be hard for you t’ watch two actual talented wrestlers show you for what you are, a talentless, selfish. . .

John Cena: . . . Hey Punk you got anythin’ new t’ say or are you just gonna keep comin’ out with all these tired lines ‘cause we’ve heard ‘em all already? We heard ‘em last week, the week before that, the week b. . .

CM Punk: . . . As tired as they may be John, they’re true. You ask anyone in the crowd who’s not under the age of eleven or some middle aged woman going through a mid-life crisis an’ they’ll tell you the same thing I have, but you know what? I’ve got a better idea. Why don’t you go ask anyone in the back? In fact why don’t you ask anyone of those guys in the ring with you right now how they feel about you waltzing on over here with a title shot just handed t’ y’like that?

Cena smirks and there’s a slight awkwardness in the ring with Christian still not a happy bunny, not paying much attention to what’s been said.

CM Punk:
Tazz might’ve thought this was all going to work out with you becoming the World Champion, well he couldn’t be more wrong. You described this as a war, you’re right. It’s an all out war, a war we’ll win John t’ get you off of our show.

Christian steps forward and takes the stick off Cena, surprising his team captain.

Christian:
Punk I think it’s about time you shut your mouth.

*Big Pop*

Christian: I think it’s about time we all shut the hell up an’ get down t’ business, which brings me t’ my big brother Edge.

*Major Heat*

Christian: You might wanna be a coward Adam, but last week you jumped me f’ the last time. It turns out screwing me out of the world title at No Mercy, which for the record Punk I’ve not forgot about by the way, last week he jumped Tomko in the back then attacked me like the gutless son of a bitch he is as I was walking down t’ the ring. That might be your style Adam but it’s not mine. T’night we’re doin’ things my way. That’s why I’m callin’ you out right now, if you’ve got the guts t’ fight man t’ man that is.

*Big Pop*

Christian: I’m not gonna wait ‘til Survivor Series bro’. I’ll walk back there an’ fight y’right there if I have to.

Cena doesn’t like the idea and tries to calm Christian down, blocking him off by the ropes.

?:
HEY!

The camera cuts to a shot of Tazz walking out to the stage all business with a microphone hand, and there’s some serious tension between him, Punk & Del Rio-Ramirez. Christian backs down but still doesn’t look happy. Tazz & Punk take a long look at each other.

Tazz:
Y’know I think we all need t’ calm down. There’s a whole lot o’ things been said, Punk that are way out o’ line. As f’ you C’, f’ obvious reasons there’s no way I’m lettin’ you an’ Edge anywhere near each other t’night.

*Heat*

Christian doesn’t look happy at all but Tazz means business.

Tazz:
With that said I have made a few matches f’ t’night that I think some o’ you are gonna be int’rested in. Now just ‘cause you’re not gonna be in action t’night C’ doesn’t mean Edge won’t. Later on he’ll be goin’ one on one with the United States Champion an’ King of the Ring, Matt Sydal.

Sydal looks happy with that, nodding his head in the ring while Christian shakes his head.

Tazz:
As f’ you Punk an’ your rookie, you’re gonna get the chance t’ get some experience as a team f’ Survivor Series ‘cause you’re gonna be takin’ on the team of Bobby Lashley an’ Charlie Haas.

Lashley & Haas nod their heads defiantly, clearly up for the challenge with Punk & Del Rio-Ramirez unsure how to react.

Tazz:
See earlier Punk y’talked ‘bout how Shelton Benjamin stepped up as y’put it, well t’night he’s really gonna get a chance t’ step up when he goes one on one with JOHN CENA.

Christian: Wait, that’s these guys taken care of, what y’got lined up f’ me?

Tazz: C’, you’re not in the right frame o’ mind dog. I think it’s best you stay out o’ the ring t’night. In fact I think it’s f’ the best if you just take the night off an’ take some time t’ chill.

Christian sn-iggers and shakes his head.

Christian:
Fine. If that’s the way you wanna play it, fine by me, but I promise y’this boss, one way or another Edge is gonna get what’s comin’ to ‘im.

Tazz: Maybe but that ain’t gonna be t’night. As for the rest of ya, good luck.

“13” plays and Tazz takes his leave. Christian barges his way past Cena and leaves the ring as he and the rest of the team look up at Punk & Del Rio-Ramirez with game faces on all around.

***

“Captain Charisma” Christian is roaming the halls, still looking very serious indeed, and as he walks up the hallway he bumps up to his fellow Canadians, Petey Williams & Johnny Devine, interrupting their conversation.

Christian:
Hey, you seen Edge?

Petey Williams: So what if we have?

Christian: Don’t mess with me I ain’t in the mood. You seen him or not?

Petey Williams: Not.

Christian’s not happy with the answer he gets and reluctantly turns to walk away.

Petey Williams:
What a loser.

Christian snaps and turns round, nailing Petey to the floor and blocks a right hand from Devine to send him down to the floor too alongside his partner. Captain Charisma glares down intensely at the both of them when Tazz walks in to the scene, not looking happy at all.

Tazz:
Hey, what did I tell you earlier huh?

Christian: The question is boss, what did I tell you earlier? I said Edge was gonna pay f’ what he did last week an’ I meant it.

Tazz: Yeah an’ I said that ain’t gonna be t’night an’ you were gonna get the hell out o’ here in case somethin’ like this happened. Now I’m not askin’ ya C’, I’m tellin’ ya, go home.

A very angry Christian turns round and heads back up the hall, shoving some metal pipes leaning against the wall down to the floor, creating quite the racket as Petey & Devine sit up with Tazz not looking happy either.

Non-Title Match
Matt Sydal w/Mickie James
vs. Edge

Sydal & Edge again clawed their way back up with Sydal in full swing, taking Edge down with a diving leg lariat, but as Edge picked himself back up again, Sydal hit the ropes and came running back in to a ferocious big boot that got rammed down his throat. That cut short the King of the Ring’s momentum, and as we drew towards the closing stages, he too looked in bad shape. Edge was well on top but furious having seen Sydal get his shoulder up at two after an Edgecution. The Rated-R Superstar was livid & desperate to put his opponent way, retreating to the corner and stalking him for a spear. The fans were booing and tried to warn Sydal, as did Mickie.

Edge was intense as hell, eyes glued on the struggling United States Champion. As soon as he made it back up and turned round, Edge stormed out the corner and tore him in half with the spear, but the momentum sent Sydal rolling under the bottom rope to the floor. Edge wasn’t happy initially as Mickie went round to check on her boyfriend, but he then urged the ref to count Sydal out with the cover not an option. The resilient youngster again frustrated him as he dragged himself back in to the ring just as the ref got to the count of nine. Edge was on the verge of losing it as he glared angrily at the suffering United States Champion.

Mickie was looking concerned as Edge again got ready for a spear, and as Sydal somehow made it back up, he saw Edge charging towards him and caught him with a roundhouse kick, met by a huge roar in the stands. Sydal was still struggling and dropped to his knees for several seconds before dragging Edge towards the corner and climbing up to the top rope with the Canadian motionless beneath him. The crowd were on their feet as Sydal looked in to the stands before leaping up in to the air and coming down for the Shooting Star Press, but Edge denied him by rolling to the side, resulting in Sydal crash landing in to the canvas.

Both men were in agony, and as they then tried to make it back up to their feet, a huge pop broke out in the crowd and we saw Christian charging down the ramp. He slid in to the ring and went right for the stunned Edge, nailing him with a right hand and then another as his brother got back up after the first one. Sydal was still on his knees as the ref called for the bell, but Christian was like a man possessed. He dropped to his knees and pummelled his brother with a series of right hands.

The referee was then helped out by another four of them as they ran down to help him pull Captain Charisma off of Edge, and they just managed it at a struggle as the stunned Sydal made it back up to his feet to hear Edge announced as the winner by DQ with an angry Christian being dragged back up the ramp while shouting down at Edge telling him he’s not done with him yet, not by a long shot. Edge sat up dazed and looked up at his brother like he didn’t know what had happened with Sydal & Mickie still shocked.

***

Bobby Lashley & Charlie Haas
vs. CM Punk & Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez

With the crowd willing him on, Haas pulled down the straps as the struggling World Champion tried to claw his way back up. Haas watched him every step of the way, and as Punk made it up, Haas went for the Olympic Slam, but Punk slipped own to safety this time and wasted no time in sending Haas down to the mat after a double underhook back breaker. It enabled him to tag in his rookie, eventually after crawling across the mat. Del Rio-Ramirez sure shared his mentor’s intensity and dragged Haas up to fire him in to the corner.

Haas’s back hit the pads at some speed, not that the Mexican cared as he ran in at him and nailed him with a hard clothesline. He back pedalled as Haas staggered out in to his path and a spinning neck-breaker. Del Rio-Ramirez wasn’t happy to see Haas get his foot on the rope at two and dragged him once more. Again he fired him in to the corner, but this time Haas stepped out to the side and saw Del Rio-Ramirez run in to the pads chest first. Haas went for a roll up there and then but the rookie kicked out. They raced back up to their feet and Haas ducked a wild right before connecting with the Olympic Slam to a huge pop.

He scurried across to make the cover, and just as the ref was about to count to three, Punk dived on top of him to break up the count to a ton of heat. Lashley though was furious and entered the ring with his eyes locked on the World Champion, and as Punk stood up with a smile on his face, he unwittingly turned round in to one hell of a spear from Lashley. The crowd were going nuts as Punk’s body rolled out of the ring down to the floor with Del Rio-Ramirez left all alone. Haas sat back up and saw the rookie still down & out, and he looked in to the cheering crowd before locking in the Haas of Pain, getting the crowd going even more.

Despite a brave fight from Del Rio-Ramirez he couldn’t hold on and tapped out to give Lashley & Haas, as well as Team Cena a huge win going in to the Survivor Series. Punk sat up on the outside just as Lashley gave his partner a big congratulatory hug, showing some real emotion between them for the first time as their role continued. The World Champion was furious, shaking his head as he saw their arms raised in victory with “Hell Will Be Callin’ Your Name” playing to a big pop. The crowd continued in their strong ovation for Lashley & Haas as Punk too watched on angrily on the arena floor with the members of Team Cena climbing the ropes and posing for the fans.

***

“My Time is Now”

It’s deafening inside the arena as John Cena hits the stage, running out to both sides with both cheers & boos coming from the crowd, although it’s mostly positive for him. He’s got his game face on as he salutes the fans and heads down the ramp with the focused Benjamin still looking on in the ring, awaiting his opponent. Cena slides inside and walks straight over to the ropes, takes his cap off and tosses it in to the stands, then does the same with his T-shirt. He turns round and glances over at his opponent with his music coming to a halt.

“Break Down The Walls”

A ton of heat with some cheers thrown in break out in the stands as a suited & booted Chris Jericho strolls out to the stage with a microphone in hand, catching everyone especially Cena off guard. He turns and looks up at the very serious looking Canadian.

Chris Jericho:
Cut the music. . . I said cut the music.

His music cuts now, not that he looks any happier for it as he glares down at the confused Cena
.

Chris Jericho:
What’s wrong Cena? Weren’t you expecting t’ see me again? Well I’m sorry t’ disappoint you but as you should know, we have some unfinished business t’ say the very least. See John the reason no one’s seen or heard from me since No Mercy is for one very simple reason; it’s because of you. It’s because on that night almost three weeks ago you interfered in my match and cost me the World Heavyweight Championship. You’re nothing but a parasite John Cena but I’ve finally come to the conclusion that sitting at home isn’t going to change anything. It’s not going to achieve what needs to be accomplished. That being removing you from this show.

*More Heat*

Chris Jericho: I may not like C-M Punk, however when it comes t’ you I agree with him one hundred percent. That’s why I’m out here t’night publicly offering him my services for the Survivor Series to take on your team and ensure you don’t earn the completely unwarranted title shot that’s been thrown in your path.

Cena & Jericho stare at each other with Jericho showing total contempt for him.

Chris Jericho:
I’ll do ev’rything in my power to ensure that doesn’t happen, and when that shot becomes open to those who actually deserve it, I will grab it and become the new World Champion as I should be right now if it wasn’t f’ you.

Jericho & Cena continue staring at each other and Jericho drops the microphone on the stage, then walks down the ramp, surprising Cena who watches Jericho walk round to the announce table and take up an empty seat alongside Michael Cole & Matt Striker and putting on a headset.

John Cena vs. Shelton Benjamin
With Jericho watching closely from the announce table, Cena was on edge throughout and the incredibly focused Benjamin sure took full advantage. The Gold Standard was out with a point to prove and went toe-to-toe with Cena all the way. Even when Cena was getting in to full swing as the match progressed to its later stages, he kept coming back at him. The crowd were very anxious as they watched Cena struggle to his feet with Benjamin ready to pounce, and Shelton didn’t waste a second and charged across the ring going for the Paydirt. Cena though ducked it and as Shelton put on the breaks, Cena lifted him up on to his shoulders for the F-U.

The crowd were going crazy but as Cena looked about to hit it, Shelton showed off his athleticism and landed on his feet. Cena was stunned and Shelton went for the dragon whip, kicking Cena tamely in the gut initially, but Cena countered, sweeping his standing leg to take him down and lock in the STFU. The fans were going nuts again as the intense as hell Cena made Benjamin work for his life, and with Jericho screaming for Benjamin to fight it, The Gold Standard did just that, trying to drag himself to the safety of the ropes. Cena didn’t make it easy it all and Shelton looked like he was about to tap but fought on as Jericho took off his headset and went over to the apron, encouraging him from there.

Benjamin gave it everything he could and battled & clawed his way to the ropes, grabbing it to the frustration of the Biloxi fans. There were cheers mixed in too as Jericho looked on with a smile on his face, staring at Cena who was visibly becoming angrier by the second. He stood up and looked down at Jericho as if to ask why he was there, met by no response from the smug Canadian. Seeing Shelton trying to make it back up, Cena went back to work and tried to lift him up for the F-U one more time, but Benjamin held on to the ropes, giving Cena no choice but to put him down. Shelton then blocked a right hand but had an irish whip reversed.

He came back though and slid through Cena’s legs before taking him down with an inverted facelock backbreaker. Jericho was nodding in approval as Shelton went for a cover, but Cena kicked out at two. Again Shelton didn’t let frustration get the better of him and was right back on Cena. He went to help him up but Cena rose to life, surprising the hell out of him to lift him up again for the F-U. The fans were cheering again but not for long as Jericho panicked, jumping up on to the apron. Cena saw him and snapped, putting Shelton down before going right after Jericho, who jumped down in a flash and gave Cena a piece of his mind on the floor with Cena giving him a warning.

Before he could finish though, Benjamin ran up behind him and drove his knee in to Cena’s back, then rolled him up and put his feet on the ropes for extra leverage with Jericho grabbing them too as the oblivious ref then counted to three to give Shelton the shock victory. “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Me” hit to a ton of heat as Benjamin slipped out of the ring to get his arm raised by an overjoyed Jericho as Cena sat up looking on furiously. Benjamin wasn’t that emotional at all, looking more satisfied than pleased with his music blasting out inside the arena. Cena gestured towards Jericho who just laughed it off and again rose Benjamin’s hand as the show came to a close with him laughing at the extremely pissed off Cena.

*Cut to the Arena*

“This Fire Burns”
is playing and the World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk is standing in the ring wearing one of his trademark T-shirts & trunks with his title draped over his shoulder. Behind him stand his Survivor Series team (Edge, Chris Jericho, Shelton Benjamin & Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez), all of whom are looking incredibly serious tonight, much like their captain who has a microphone in his possession as he looks in to the stands with his music coming to a halt, bringing out more boos from the capacity crowd.

CM Punk:
Seven days ago in this very ring the one an’ only John Cena stood here in front of his beloved fans t’ let us all know just who’d be on team Cena at Survivor Series, so t’night I thought I’d come out here an’ unveil my team, the men who nine nights from now will one by one eliminate and defeat team Cena.

*Major Heat*

CM Punk: Boo all you want it won’t change anything. The part of that that actually surprises me is that it’s only nine nights away. See this might sound strange but I’ve never looked forward to a match as much as this my entire career. Hell given what I’ve accomplished this year at some of the biggest events in the hist’ry of this business, that says a hell of a lot. That’s not t’ say that I’m really excited about the match itself, just what it means, what’s at stake. That comes after winning my first world title, knowing exactly when I was going t’ cash in the Money in the Bank contract before going on t’ headline SummerSlam against one of the best this business has ever seen, an’ no I’m not talking about John Cena, I’m talking about Shawn Michaels.

*Pop*

CM Punk: Add t’ that the successful defence of my Intercontinental title at WrestleMania in an I Quit match, but even after all that, the prospect of beating Cena at Survivor Series, just the thought of it y’know is so so sweet. Now I know you all might be at a loss to understand that but if you’d been back there in the locker room for the amount of time we have with the talent this company has you’d understand. What really gets me is I’m sure our general manager understands that too. I’m sure he understood that when he first thought about luring Cena over here from Raw, wondering just what he could do t’ tempt him, not giving a single thought t’ what it would do t’ the locker room, a locker room that I can tell you having been on Raw with Cena before I came here that until the last couple of months was just grateful because we all thought this was genuinely the land of opportunity. Now however that’s all changed and it’s just like being back on Raw, back t’ the days where regardless of whoever else is making a name f’ themselves, a rookie who’s loaded with potential, they’re deemed insignificant an’ cast aside all becuase of one man. . . John Cena.

*Mixed*

CM Punk: The relief an’ satisfaction I felt when I was drafted here back in April, well let’s just say I can’t remember what that felt like right now. See since we all heard that Cena could be coming here, well it felt like we’d been kicked in the nuts. Now I know some of you out there will be able to understand an’ appreciate that right? Well the point I’m trying t’ make is simple. It’s time someone stood up an’ said no more. That’s what we’re going t’ do at Survivor Series and I can’t wait.

*Heat*

CM Punk: I know these guys behind me feel that too. They’re as sick of John Cena stealing the spotlight from each an’ ev’ryone of us, from preventing guys back there who have actually have talent getting an opportunity they deserve. See Tazz, had you just brought Cena over here, yeah we wouldn’t be happy I’ll give you that, but when you waved this shot at my world title in his face without him doing a single thing, you started all this, t’ put a stop to all the favouritism he’s had year in year out for as long as I’ve been here. It’s been going on longer than that, so I’ve been told by some of the guys behind me. They’re just as determined as I am t’ make sure we do put a stop t’ John Cena, an’ that’s why we will be victorious at Survivor Series.

*More Boos*

CM Punk: No one apart from you who matters Tazz wants him here. We don’t need him here. You might’ve thought bringing Cena over here, making him the man would take Smackdown t’ new levels when the fact is since becoming World Champion I’ve been doing that all by myself. This plan of yours boss, well I’m sorry t’ say that it’s not going t’ work out like you thought it would. It’s not going t’ work out at all because we won’t let it. We’re all willing t’ sacrifice ourselves, me especially t’ make sure this show doesn’t go t’ ruin with John Cena running riot without a care in the world for anyone else, let alone this show.

*Tons of Heat*

CM Punk: I know exactly what’s at stake. I know what’ll happen if we lose, which we won’t , he’ll be thrown in t’ the limelight with a shot at my world title at Night of Champions, keeping the spotlight off of me an’ those who actually deserve it. However we won’t have t’ worry about that because this is one battle Cena can’t win whoever’s he got back there fighting his battles for him. I have a team I know I can rely on, a team I know feel as strongly as I do, who all have one thing in common. . . well actually two. Unlike Cena’s team they actually have something t’ fight for, but mainly they all hate Cena an’ want him off of this show. See I could give you a one man show that’d go on all night on that subject alone but I thought I’d leave it to them to explain why it is they individually hate your beloved John Cena.

More boos ring out as Punk turns around and holds out the microphone for his rookie, Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez. The Mexican steps forward dressed in a very nice suit to take possession of the microphone with Punk telling him to say whatever he likes with Edge, Jericho & Benjamin watching behind them.

Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez:
My mentor has spoken strongly about what the W-W-E superstars think of John Cena but as a rookie here, I’ve not been here long enough t’ experience it f’ myself. However what I can say is that where I come from, in Mexico we take great pride in our wrestling, both as a country and as individuals. We’re trained t’ be the best we can be, and if John Cena ever tried t’ make a name for himself in Mexico, he wouldn’t last a second. You want t’ know why? It’s very simple, it’s because he can’t wrestle.

*Major Heat*

Punk nods his head and claps his rookie with the rest of Team Punk agreeing with what the Mexican is saying.

Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez:
That people is the truth. It’s there for all t’ see. As you say over here, he sucks.

*More Boos*

Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez: To make a name for yourself in Mexico you have t’ be a good wrestler and I’m sorry t’ say that John Cena is not a good wrestler or even close to being what you call a good wrestler.

*Heat*

Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez: That is why I despise Cena, that and how you Americans for some reason treat him like he is some kind of superstar, but at Survivor Series you’ll see him for the loser that he is and he’ll no longer bring shame to the W-W-E and American wrestling.

*Ton of Boos*

Punk applauds his rookie (as do Edge, Jericho & Benjamin), who stares in to the stands, meaning every word he said as Punk takes back the microphone.

CM Punk:
Give it up Long Beach f’ Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez.

Boos ring round the arena as the very serious Del Rio-Ramirez steps back.

CM Punk:
Well said ‘berto. I honestly haven’t looked at it like that but you’re exactly right. All this stems from the fact that he isn’t anywhere close t’ being a good wrestler. There are however four excellent wrestlers in this ring, will five with yours truly, an’ last week one of them beat Cena in this ring. At this time I’d like you to show your appreciation for the extremely talented Shelton Benjamin.

*More Boos*

‘The Gold Standard’ Shelton Benjamin steps forward in his ring gear and a T-shirt, accepting the microphone from Punk who nods his head and takes a step back, giving Benjamin the floor.

Shelton Benjamin:
Thanks Punk. . . Earlier t’night when Punk told us he was gonna come out here an’ ask us t’ talk about John Cena, straight away I felt my blood boil, just from the mention of his name. Never in all my life have I got as much satisfaction from a win like I did when I beat him in this ring last week.

*Heat*

Shelton Benjamin: I’ve dreamt about that f’ years, getting the chance t’ get in the ring with him an’ beat his ass one two three. That’s cause f’ years I’ve wan’ed just some of the chances he’s had. . . title shots, the chances t’ main event shows like SummerSlam an’ WrestleMania. I never got those chances ‘cause o’ him. He got them handed to ‘im instead on a plate time after time ahead o’ people who deserved at least just that one shot, a fair crack at bein’ the star he’s become, but that never happened, not once.

*More Boos*

Shelton Benjamin: There are plen’y of guys back there who are way more deserving than Cena, better than ‘im. F’ years I’ve had people in the locker room, at that announce desk, in the crowd an’ sat at home askin’ why Shelton Benjamin never reached out an’ grabbed that brass ring like he could an’ probably should ‘ave. I’ve had questions asked of me as t’ why with all the talent I’ve got I’ve not made that next step up the ladder. You wanna know why that is? It’s cause of John Cena, plain an’ simple.

*Heat*

Shelton Benjamin: But now I’ve been given a chance, a chance I’m sure as hell gonna take, I’m gonna show just how grateful I am t’ Punk at Survivor Series by beatin’ Cena once again.

More boos are thrown at Benjamin as he then shakes hands with Punk and hands the microphone back to the World Champion.

CM Punk:
Again I’m sure you’ll agree, some great points there. Now I’d like to hand you over to someone who already made their feelings towards John Cena very clear last week. . . ladies an’ gentleman, Chris Jericho.

*Ton of Heat*

Chris Jericho walks towards Punk and takes possession of the microphone.

Chris Jericho:
You’ve already heard some excellent points this evening which I whole heartedly agree with. There are many many reasons why I despise John Cena, some of which have already been mentioned, however as we speak there is one overriding reason, that being that at No Mercy he cost me the World Heavyweight Championship.

*Heat*

Chris Jericho: What really angers me aside from the fact that he cost me my opportunity in a manner which he is unfamiliar with by actually earning the opportunity I was given is that he did so without any reason other than to make sure ev’ryone was talking about John Cena, and he succeeded. He had no right getting involved but he did, costing me the world title in the process. It wouldn’t surprise me if he an’ Tazz concocted it as part of the plan to bring him here and do ev’rything possible to make him the star of the show and then the World Champion. They may well have succeeded in the first part of that plan in bringing him over here but I assure you that along with the rest of this team I will ensure that the second part of their plan does not succeed.

*More Heat*

Chris Jericho: Like our World Champion I could talk all night about how I much I despise him and how he cost me the title he an’ Tazz are pinning their hopes on him winning at Night of Champions. I could talk about how angry I am he’s been handed this opportunity without having done a thing to earn it where I defeated The Undertaker, a man he’ll never be able to defeat which I did at SummerSlam and which wasn’t deemed enough to justify a shot at the same title he’s fighting for. However all I need to say is that regardless of what happened at No Mercy where myself and C-M Punk may well disagree about what would have happened had Cena not got involved, we’re putting that behind us for the greater good in ensuring that this plan to have John Cena waltz on over here an’ take over fails drastically at Survivor Series. We’ll do whatever it takes to make sure he doesn’t lead his team to victory and earn the right to a shot at the title he cost me almost a month ago.

*Boos*

Chris Jericho: We will do ev’rything in our power to ensure that John Cena ends the year by becoming the World Heavyweight Champion, and when we are successful in our own plan this title shot that has been dangled like a carrot in his face will become available for somebody else, somebody deserving. Both myself and Edge have already spoken to our team captain who has assured us he will then have no problem whatsoever in allowing us to challenge him at Night of Champions like the fine competitor that he is.

*More Boos*

Punk again claps, and Jericho turns round, nodding at his team captain before handing the microphone over to him.

CM Punk:
Now that leaves the final member of my team, an’ as well as Jericho he’s another of Canada’s finest exports. He is the Rated-R superstar Edge.

A chorus of boos breaks out as Edge is given the microphone by Punk and happily takes centre stage, not caring at all about the heat coming from the stands.

Edge:
First off I just wanna add t’ what Chris just said about the title shot he’s been promised. We’ve agreed with Punk that we’ll get a shot when we’re victorious at Survivor Series. I just want Tazz t’ be aware of that, but as far as this title shot is concerned that’s just been given t’ Cena on a plate f’ no other reason but f’ coming over here from Raw, that’s why right now I can’t wait t’ put a stop t’ this crap. Trust me I’ve hated Cena’s guts f’ a long time. It’s hardly a secret but I’ve grown t’ deal with it unlike these guys with all the blatant favouritism he gets, but t’ see him just leave Raw come t’ Smackdown an’ be given this shot f’ no reason whatsoever, it straight up stinks.

*Heat*

Edge: You can boo all night that’s not gonna change how it is. I hate Cena an’ all that he stands for, make no mistake about that, but it doesn’t matter who he is, f’ anyone t’ be given a title shot just f’ switchin’ shows is a joke. Hell, even Christian deserves it more than he does, but y’know what? It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter ‘cause there’s no way in hell Cena’s gonna be needin’ that shot ‘cause he won’t be goin’ t’ Night of Champions period.

*More Heat*

Edge: That’s not just confidence, it’s the just the way it is. Look at this team an’ look at his. Not only are we a hell of a lot better an’ more experienced, we’re hell bent on winning. We’ve got something t’ fight for other than pride. Cena might want that title shot but there’s only him who’s got somethin’ t’ gain, something all of us are gonna make sure he doesn’t get anywhere near. That f’ us is our prize. Plus me an’ Chris, we want that title shot. Alberto, he’s got a contract t’ fight for, an’ Shelton, he’s got a real point t’ prove. He showed last week when he beat Cena just what he can do in this ring an’ that he’s got more talent than Cena could ever dream of having.

*Boos*

Edge: This whole team, we’re more motivated than you could ever imagine. Team Cena, they’ve got nothing t’ fight for, but now I need to talk about what happened last week with my baby brother. . . C’, y’need t’ realise that you beating me at SummerSlam was nothing but a fluke. I’m not gonna stop until you realise that, an’ I’ve got that chance at Survivor Series. As f’ the rest of Team Cena, we’ve got nothin’ t’ worry about either. Now I know Matt Sydal’s on one hell of a role an’ last week he gave me a run f’ my money, but had it not been f’ Christian I’d ‘ave beaten him an’ made him as well as all of you see that as great a role as he’s on, he’s not at this level yet. He’ll find that out in just over a week, an’ then there’s Bobby Lashley an’ Charlie Haas.

*Pop*

Edge: Yeah they’re on somewhat of a role right now too, but the fact is as good as they might be, they’ve got one massive flaw. They’re both what you call nice guys an’ we all know nice guys finish last. That’s why the boring brothers have never amounted to anything, an’ the only reason Cena’s accomplished anything is because he’s had more chances than all of the locker room combined.

?: Alright I’ve heard enough.

Cheers break out as the Smackdown General Manager, Tazz walks out to the stage with a microphone of his own, not looking all that pleased, and neither are Team Punk in the ring as they all turn their attention to their boss.

Tazz:
Y’know, puttin’ all the sour grapes t’ one side I’m glad you all mean business ‘cause that’s all what this has ever been about, business. Just cause you guys might not see it, bringing Cena over here an’ givin’ him that incentive is good f’ business.

*Pop*

Tazz: Believe it or not, getting John Cena over here is great f’ this show. Our ratings are up an’ look at this huge main event we’ve got f’ Survivor Series. You guys are pumped an’ we’re gonna see an awesome match when you guys get it on with Team Cena, but right now I’m only concerned about the matches we’re gonna see t’night.

*More Cheers*

Tazz: Now Edge I just heard y’talkin’ bout Bobby Lashley an’ Charlie Haas, well you’re gonna find out how borin’ they are first hand, just like Punk an’ Alberto did when they lost t’ them last week when you team up with Chris Jericho t’ represent both Canada an’ team Punk later on t’night.

*Big Pop*

Edge & Jericho turn to each other, both focused and they look up for it.

Tazz:
Well that’s you two taken care of, now that brings me t’ you Punk. Last week you an’ your rookie there lost t’ Lashley an’ Haas but I’m gonna give y’both the chance t’ make up f’ it when y’take on the team of Christian an’ the King of the Ring Matt Sydal.

*Big Cheer*

Punk & Del Rio-Ramirez both look more than comfortable with that as they look up at Tazz.

CM Punk:
That’s fine. . .

Tazz: . . . Oh I’m not done champ ‘cause there’s one of your guys left, that bein’ The Gold Standard Shelton Benjamin. Now I don’t know if you saw it but last week right here on Smackdown like you might’ve heard, he beat John Cena. There were of course some dubious circumstances they f’got t’ mention which is why right here in our main event we’re gonna have a rematch of last week’s main event between Shelton Benjamin, an’ John CE-NA.

*Massive Pop*

Tazz: Well good luck t’night guys. By the end of the night y’might just find out that team Cena might ‘ave a lot more fight in ‘em than y’think.

“13” plays with the fans cheering as Tazz looks down at team Punk who are all still looking very focused in the ring talking amongst themselves apart from Punk who looks back up at Tazz quite smugly, not showing any concern or anger towards the General Manager whatsoever.

Michael Cole: Well folks, what d’ y’think of that? We already had some great matches lined up f’ t’night but now we’re really in f’ what’s going t’ be one amazing night.

Matt Striker: It sure will be Michael, and like you said, we were already in store for an incredible night. On top of those matches Tazz has just made for this evening, we’re going t’ see the debut of Bryan Danielson, the man who last week Shawn Michaels claimed was one of the best in the world t’day where he will be taking on a member of their opposition at the Survivor Series in Jack Swagger. That will be a match I will be watching closely in addition to the reunion or what may just be a temporary reunion between Paul London and Brian Kendrick, two of the men who will represent Smackdown in the Battle of the Brand against Team Raw, but t’night they will be up against opposition from familiar territory when they meet the undefeated unit that is The Empire.

Michael Cole: Y’’know Matt when London an’ Kendrick were the tag team champions here on Smackdown they were worth the admission alone. I used t’ turn up t’ work excited just at the thought of seeing them in action an’ t’night we will. I just wonder if they’ll be able to recreate the magic of old an’ if they’ll be able t’ get along since it was Tazz who made this match f’ t’night after putting them both on Team Smackdown having witnessed their highly impressive match from last week.

Matt Striker: That is a wonder, however since we’re on the subject of Team Smackdown we’ll find out later on who will get the last place for the match against Raw next weekend.

Michael Cole: We sure will, but coming up when we come back after this short break we’ll see the number one contender for the diva’s championship, Michelle McCool in action. Don’t go anywhere, we’ll back in just a few minutes.

*Video Promo*

A very confident looking Michelle McCool is dressed for action making her way through the back along with her rookies, Alicia Fox & Rosa Mendes!

*Commercial Break*

We’re taken to a locker room where Paul London is finishing lacing up his boots, sat on the bench and looks to the side where the camera pans to show Brian Kendrick sat on the other side doing the same. They awkwardly look towards each other with neither sure what to say.

Paul London:
Look I know this isn’t easy f’ either of us. . .

Brian Kendrick: . . . Yeah you’re right an’ I know what you’re gonna say. Neither of us asked f’ this but y’gotta look at this way. What Tazz said ‘bout us, he was right. We were pretty awesome. . .

Paul London: . . . Pretty awesome?

Kendrick smirks, clearly amused, and even London seems to have relaxed now.

Brian Kendrick:
Alright, we were the nuts. That sound better?

Paul London: Yeah that sounds about right.

Brian Kendrick: Well now we’ve worked that out, I know this ain’t easy f’ both of us, but after last week an’ what Tazz said it kinda felt like old times. He was right, we did make one hell of a team, an’ now we’ve got the chance t’ be on team Smackdown at Survivor Series, it’s a great chance f’ both of us. Thing is we showed last week we deserve it an’ even though I ain’t exactly singin’ an’ dancin’ about it, us teamin’ up again t’night ain’t a bad thing. This is a chance t’ get back t’ where we were, not as a team but f’ one night only we might as well go out there just the two of us an’ show the world, what Raw’s got comin’ to ‘em at Survivor Series.

London looks really surprised.

Paul London:
Am I hearin’ right? You’re happy f’ us t’ team up t’night?

Brian Kendrick: I know right, but yeah you heard right. F’ old time sake, let’s go out there an’ put on a show like only we can. (Stands up) What y’say?

London tuts and shakes his head, still surprised but shakes it off.

Paul London:
Alright bro’, you’re on.

The former partners shake hands and have a brief guy hug, seemingly sweeping their issues under the carpet as they prepare for what appears to be a one night only reunion when they take on The Empire.

*Cut to the Arena*

*The Opening Match*
Maria
vs. Michelle McCool w/Alicia Fox & Rosa Mendes

McCool made easy work of Maria, much to the amusement of both her & her rookies watching at ringside. Maria barely offered any hope and quickly found herself in deep trouble, and when she saw an irish whip reversed followed by a big boot, she was dragged up to her feet and fell victim to a devastating Faithbreaker. She wasn’t moving and the smug number one contender for the diva’s title made the cover to pick up the victory. McCool calmly stood up to get her arm raised with her rookies clapping outside and she then instructed them to get a microphone. Rosa grabbed one and joined her mentor in the ring, as did Alicia with Rosa then passing McCool the stick.

Winner: Michelle McCool by pinfall.

Michelle McCool: I know you’re back there Beth an’ I want you an’ all these people t’ know that right now you’re lookin’ at the soon t’ be diva’s champion. If y’all don’t believe me. . .

McCool drops the microphone on the mat and walks over to the squirming Maria. She pulls her up off the mat and sets her up for another Faithbreaker to a ton of heat, but the boos quickly turn to cheers as we see Beth Phoenix running down the ramp with her rookie, Nikki Roxx to save the day. McCool and her rookies turn round to see the coming and panic. McCool lets go of Maria and gets out of harm’s way, as do Fox & Mendes as Beth & Roxx slide in the ring to see them off. The Glamazon is seething and goes straight over to the ropes, glaring down at her angry rival and number one contender to her title. They exchange words as Roxx checks on Maria with Beth’s music hitting to another pop. McCool then walks round to the ramp with her rookies, staring back at Beth, not at all happy that the Diva’s Champion got in her way tonight.

*Cut Backstage*

There appears to be some problems in the parking lot by the entrance as Raw’s Cody Rhodes & Joe Hennig (in their street clothes) are arguing with an event worker.

Event Worker:
There’s nothing I can do. I’ve checked and I’m under strict instructions not to let you in.

Cody Rhodes: Does it look as if we care what you say? We’re going in an’ you can’t stop us.

Cody & Hennig shove past him and Cody is about to grab the handle when it’s opened by Tazz, and boy do they look shocked to see him. Tazz himself doesn’t look exactly pleased to see them either.

Tazz:
Well look who we have here. What y’think y’can just turn up here an’ walk in after what y’did last week? You’ve got guts I’ll give y’that but there ain’t no way in hell I’m lettin’ you guys in. I don’t need any trouble t’night so y’better get t’ steppin’ unless y’want me t’ go back in there an’ find someone who’ll happily get rid of you the hard way.

Rhodes & Hennig turn & look at each other, both looking like they know they’re on a hiding to nothing.

Cody Rhodes:
Alright, have it your way. We’ll go, but know this. . . Survivor Series, this pathetic show of yours is going down, and that’s a promise.

Tazz: Yeah well we’ll see about that won’t we? Now I hope y’don’t think I’m bein’ a rude host but I’m actually a busy man t’night so I’m gonna head back inside. I trust you ain’t gonna do anythin’ stupid?

Cody Rhodes: Us two? No, you have my word we won’t.

Tazz: Good, I’m glad t’ hear it.

Tazz turns to the event worker.

Tazz:
They give you any problems just give security a call an’ have ‘em thrown off the premises.

Event Worker: No problem sir.

Tazz turns back to give Cody & Hennig a meaningful stare before heading back inside while they smile at each other, taking their warning very well indeed.

*Commercial Break*

“La Vittoria é Mia”

Out walks Santino Marella to the stage to a pretty large pop and he looks very happy indeed in his ring gear, smiling & waving at the fans as he makes his way down to the ramp. He happily stomps up the steps and enters the ring, walks over to Justin Roberts and asks for his microphone, bringing his music to a halt.

Santino Marella:
Well good eve-ning CALI-FORNIA.

*Big Pop*

Santino Marella: Tonight is-a big night, because in just over-a week’s times, it-a is the Survivor Series and there-a is one place left on Team Smackdown. Tonight I, Santino Marella will be fighting for-a that last place against the W-W-E Cruiserweight Champion, Johnny Jeter.

*Heat*

Santino Marella: And-a last week he was-a very lucky to keep-a hold of-a his title, but tonight he is-a not going to-a be so lucky. Tonight he will-a lose and it will-a be Santino Marella who-a goes to the Survivor Series to-a fight for Team Smackdown against Team Ra. . .

“Time to Shine”

Here comes the Cruiserweight Champion, Johnny Jeter along with his rookie, Yoshi Tatsu to heat from the capacity crowd. Jeter doesn’t look pleased with Santino at all as he stares down at him and then disgustedly in to the crowd before pacing down the ramp with his rookie following, still not showing any signs that he’s getting along with his mentor. Jeter ignores him completely as he enters the ring and walks right past Santino, giving him a real dark stare in the process as he then demands another microphone. He gets one passed to him and turns back to face his opponent for the night and the man he’s had problems with for the last month or so with his music cutting and Yoshi watching on from the outside.

Johnny Jeter:
Santino you need t’ get real an’ quick. Whatever happened last week I’m still the Cruiserweight Champion an’ t’night you’re right, one of us is gonna go on t’ Survivor Series, but I’m tellin’ y’straight there ain’t no way that’s gonna be you. You wanna know why? It’s ‘cause you’re a joke.

*Heat*

Santino Marella: I am-a not a jo. . .

Johnny Jeter: . . . Shut y’mouth loser. I said you’re a joke so you are right, got it? I mean look at you. Hell you’re a Raw reject for a start. I’m a champion. I deserve that spot, an’ that’s why I’m gonna get it an’ go t’ the Survivor Series an’ beat Team Raw, not you.

*More Boos*

An angry Jeter turns round and drops the microphone on the mat as Santino hands his microphone back to Justin Roberts.

*Match #2*
Non-Title Match
Winner Joins Team Smackdown for the Survivor Series
Santino Marella
vs. Johnny Jeter w/Yoshi Tatsu

M.V.P. & Killings came out to watch as Santino & Jeter battled it out in what was a very aggressive contest with the last place on Team Smackdown at stake. Santino rattled Jeter, not lying down for him at all, getting under the skin of the Cruiserweight Champion. He was getting particularly frustrated, and after Santino barely got a shoulder up after a thunderous tornado DDT, he couldn’t believe it. The resilient Italian slowly crawled towards the corner where he eventually pulled himself back up with the angry Jeter watching on.

As Santino made it up, Jeter ran in and connected with a clothesline, but as he then tried to whip his opponent in to the opposite corner, Santino reversed it and sent Jeter crashing right in to the referee, sending both men down. Santino was stunned and didn’t know what to do, looking down in guilt at the referee as the groggy Jeter made it up to his knees. The Italian went back to work and looked to pull Jeter up, only for the Cruiserweight Champion to low blow him to a ton of heat with the ref still down & out, barely coming round.

Jeter sat up to a chorus of boos and then looked round, still angry and then yelled at Yoshi on the outside, pointing towards the timekeeper’s table, shouting at him to get the belt. The rookie didn’t look happy at all but did as he was asked, grabbing the cruiserweight title. He looked at it and thought twice, looking in to the crowd who were shouting at him not to give it to his mentor. Jeter was getting even more agitated and stood up before again yelling at Yoshi to give it him. Reluctantly he walked over to the apron and slid it under the bottom rope as Santino sat up behind him, still suffering from the low blow.

Jeter shook his head angrily at his rookie as he walked over to pick up the belt, and as he then turned round he set his sights on the unwitting Italian who got to his knees with the crowd trying to warn him. The ref had his back to the action as he came round, lifting his head up off the mat with the lights slowly coming back on for him. Yoshi didn’t look comfortable at all, shaking his head too and he slipped in to the ring. It was met with cheers as he walked up behind his mentor and grabbed the belt to a big pop. Jeter was stunned and shouted at him to let go. They fought over it with the rookie winning the battle, resulting in a right hand from Jeter that put his rookie on the mat.

He kneeled down and gave him an earful of abuse before picking his title back up, but as he turned round and walked over to Santino, the Italian reached up and rolled him up in to an inside cradle. Jeter dropped the title and the ref shimmied round to count the fall, counting to three to a huge pop. Jeter then sat up in shock, as did Santino as he was announced the winner. Santino was smiling as it sunk in while both Yoshi and the ref shook off the cobwebs as Jeter glared angrily in to the crowd, stunned. He then stood up in a huff and walked over to the apron as Yoshi made it to his feet, and the Cruiserweight Champion called for a microphone, getting one from Justin Roberts as Santino’s music was then cut.

Winner: Santino Marella by pinfall.

Johnny Jeter: Hey, don’t y’go anywhere you ungrateful son of a bitch.

Santino & Yoshi both turn around curiously as the pissed Jeter glares right at them holding the microphone and his cruiserweight title in the other.

Johnny Jeter:
Have you got any idea what you’ve just done, how stupid you just made me look? That’s what I get f’ all the help you’ve got from me? Well if y’think I’m gonna help you out anymore y’can f’get it. I’m done with you. Go find y’self another mentor, but let me tell y’somethin’, you ain’t ever gonna make it ‘cause you’re nothin’, now get outta my way.

Jeter drops the microphone and barges past them to leave the ring as a ton of boos break out. The camera goes back to the ring where Raw’s Sheamus slides in the ring having jumped the security wall, totally oblivious to Santino & Yoshi Tatsu, M.V.P. & Killings panic and charge down the ramp as Team Raw’s captain charges at the curious Santino who turns round in to a ferocious Brogue Kick. The Intercontinental Champion sees them coming and flees the ring and jumps back in to the crowd with the angry M.V.P. & Killings reaching ringside as Yoshi looks on in shock from the ring and then checks on Santino while M.V.P. & Killings stare angrily at the highly amused Irishman laughing back at them.

*Commercial Break*

Still pissed off from before the break, Johnny Jeter is pacing through the back, turning a corner and walking right in to the path of the General Manager, Tazz, and he too doesn’t look happy at all.

Tazz:
Great, just the man I was after.

Johnny Jeter: Yeah and?

Tazz: Man you’ve got some attitude kid but y’know what? I think y’probably did the right thing, not f’ you but f’ Yoshi. I ain’t exactly happy ‘bout how it came about. . .

Johnny Jeter: . . . Who cares? What’s done’s done, just like we are now.

Jeter tries to walk past his boss but Tazz outs his had out and stops him in his tracks, not going down well with the Cruiserweight Champion.

Johnny Jeter:
What the hell are you doin’?

Tazz: What am I doin’?

Tazz lets go and they stare right at each other.

Tazz:
I’ll tell y’what I’m doin’. I’m gonna make a match f’ next week, an’ y’wanna know who you’re gonna be facin’?. . . Yoshi Tatsu.

Jeter laughs, clearly not at all bothered by Tazz’s decision.

Johnny Jeter:
Oh no, I’m so. . .

A livid J-Red storms in to the shot, getting the attention of Tazz as well as Jeter who turns around with Red glaring right at the champion who was lucky to hold on to his title against him last week.

Tazz:
Look I don’t want any trouble.

Johnny Jeter: Don’t worry, you’re not gonna get any from me boss. (Turns to Red) How y’doin’ man? Where’s Chavo? Tell ‘im thanks f’ last week when y’see ‘im will ya?

Red bites his lip, eyes locked on the smug Jeter with Tazz turning to the Cruiserweight Champion.

Tazz:
What did I just say?

J-Red: I’m not here t’ talk about you but don’t think I’ve f’get about last week.

Red turns his attention to Tazz.

J-Red:
Is it true?

Tazz: Is what true?

J-Red: That y’told Chavo t’ stay home t’night.

Tazz: As a matter o’fact it is, an’ lookin’ at it’s probably a good thing I did, but don’t worry, I ain’t gonna let ‘im get away with what he did last week. You’re gonna get another shot at the title.

Tazz turns to Jeter with Jeter’s smile going.

Johnny Jeter:
What? I don’t think so. He had his chance.

Tazz: Yeah he had his chance an’ you’re damn lucky you’ve still got it, (turns back to Red) which is why next week dog you’ve got a match wi’ Chavo, and y’don’t have t’ worry ‘bout him bein’ your mentor anymore.

J-Red: Yeah?

Tazz: Sure thing ‘cause I’ve seen enough from you t’ offer you a full time contract here on Smackdown. That’s if y’want it kid?

J-Red: Yeah, sure I do.

Tazz: Great, then come this way, we’ll get it all sorted t’night.

Jeter doesn’t look happy as Red steps forward and looks right at him.

J-Red:
When I’m done wi’ Chavo, I’m comin’ after you, an’ next time you’re not gonna be so lucky champ.

Red gives Jeter the eyes, and the Cruiserweight Champion isn’t so cocky now, looking a bit concerned as Red & Tazz walk off down the hall.

“Man With a Plan” is playing and Brian Kendrick joins Paul London in the ring to a largely positive reception from the capacity crowd. The former partners don’t look anywhere near as awkward as they did earlier on as Kendrick walks over to London and takes off his jacket, both greeting each other as they prepare for action.

*Video Recap*
From Last Week

Paul London vs. Brian Kendrick

The former tag team partners put on quite the show, both well & truly fired up for this one with a very interested Tazz shown at the start watching the contest from the comfort of his office. He wasn’t disappointed either like the fans as London & Kendrick threw everything they had at each other. As both men came round and tried to make their way back up to their feet, looking exhausted mentally & physically, Kendrick went for an irish whip only to see London reverse it and fire him in to the opposite corner. London followed in and ran in to a double boot lift to the face, sending him staggering out of the corner.

Kendrick then pulled himself up to the second rope but didn’t count on London turning round and running right at him. Kendrick quickly leapfrogged over him, and as both men turned round, London once again went for a super kick. Kendrick ducked it though and wasted no time in nailing him with a super kick of his own. London was out and Kendrick knew it. He could see it was all but over and chose to make sure of it, reaching down to drag his former partner up, immediately setting him up for the Sliced Bread. He held on tight this time and ran in to the corner, hit off the ropes and drove London’s head in to the mat.

London was out and Kendrick wasted no time in turning him over to go for the cover and getting the three count to pick up an incredibly hard fought victory. “Man With a Plan” played to largely heat with some cheers as he stood up looking tired but relived to have won that one while a starry eyed London lifted his head up off the mat behind him. Kendrick threw both his arms up in the air and walked over to the ropes with Tazz shown again in his office, nodding his head, clearly impressed at what he saw. As Kendrick then turned round, he saw his former friend sitting up, obviously suffering. They both looked at each other, not sure what to make of what just went down.

Kendrick stepped away from the ropes, and London watched him step closer towards him. He then shocked Kendrick by offering him his hand as he made it up to one knee. Kendrick didn’t know what to make of it and looked at the crowd in shock. As he turned back, London still had his hand out, and to the shock of everyone including Kendrick, he shook it to a decent pop. Kendrick then left the ring, still surprised as London then pulled himself up with Tazz again shown looking on, smiling & nodding now as the shot went back to Kendrick, turning round on the ramp and looking back all confused at London.

“On A Mission”

Looking very confident, The Empire (Wade Barrett, Drew McIntyre – both dressed for action, William Regal & Katie Lee) walk out in to the arena and head down the ramp with Katie waving a Union Jack to a ton of heat from the American fans in attendance. The Empire aren’t bothered at all and shrug off the jeers as London & Kendrick watch on, not too impressed at all by their opponents for the evening.

*Video Recap*
From Last Week

Out to the stage walks Harry Smith to a decent pop, followed by his rookie, TJ Wilson and his girlfriend, Natalya Neidhart. Smith doesn’t appear to be himself tonight, seemingly having something on his mind. He doesn’t acknowledge the fans and as soon as he enters the ring he walks over to the opposite side to collect a microphone. Wilson & Neidhart are looking a bit concerned, not sure what exactly is going on as the music cuts and Smith walks back in to the centre of the ring.

Harry Smith:
Over the last few weeks I’ve got the impression that there’s some issues or problems Paul has with me. I honestly don’t know what they are but Paul I’m asking you to come out here so we can sort this out before anything gets out of hand.

Smith walks over to the ropes and leans on them waiting for his partner & co-holder of the WWE Tag Team titles.

Harry Smith:
Come on Paul, we need to sort this ou. . .

Paul Burchill does indeed walk out to the stage to a pop, also not in the best of moods tonight as he walks down to the ring. Smith holds the ropes down and allows his partner in, nodding at him as he enters, but Burchill walks straight over to get another microphone before then joining Smith in the centre of the ring.

Paul Burchill:
Harry, I respect that you’re trying to sort things out but are you honestly telling me you don’t know what the problem is?

Harry Smith: What are you talking about?

Paul Burchill: Look, this isn’t personal, it honestly isn’t, but ever since you became a mentor all your attention’s gone on him (pointing at TJ) and catching up with him. You’re old friends, partners even, and Natalya’s family, I get that. My issue is Harry, if it carries on like this we won’t be the tag team champions much longer.

“On A Mission”

The Tag Team Champions, Wilson & Natalya all look up at the stage and see The Empire (Wade Barrett, Drew McIntyre, William Regal & Katie Lee) strolling out to the stage to a chorus of boos. Katie’s carrying a Union Jack and the men are all shaking their heads looking appalled with the already frustrated champions as the music cuts.

Wade Barrett:
Just when I thought you two couldn’t be any more of an embarrassment to the U-K, here you are making a fool out of yourselves for the whole world t’ see, it’s pathetic. If you were just making a fool out of yourselves we wouldn’t have a problem, however it’s not just yourselves it’s you’re embarrassing, it’s the U-K and us.

Barrett’s words don’t go down well with the champs at all as they glare up in anger at The Empire.

Wade Barrett:
You can call yourself The U-K Pack, you can call yourself tag team champions but you’re a disgrace to the people who matter to us, the people back home. They need people who are proud to be British, who’ll shout from the rooftops that they’re proud of where they come from, an’ that’s not you. You know as well as we do that what I’m saying is true. What you need t’ know right now is that we’re putting you on notice that we’re going to do something about you two. Even if you work through these problems you’re having, you’ve got a real problem you need t’ worry about. . . us. We’re not going away an’ I promise you this gentleman, like it or not those titles won’t be yours for much longer. We will take them from you an’ then we’ll be the new W-W-E Tag Team Champions.

“On A Mission” plays again to more boos from the crowd as the confident Empire members look down at the angry UK Pack with even TJ & Natalya unhappy behind them.

*Match #3*
Paul London & Brian Kendrick
vs. The Empire w/William Regal & Katie Lee

The UK Pack along with TJ Wilson & Natalya Neidhart were shown watching on in the back on a monitor as these two teams really went at it with London & Kendrick working well as a team again, surprising & angering Barrett & McIntyre even more as the contest went on. Regal & Katie were looking concerned too on the outside, and especially so when Barrett went for the Wasteland on Kendrick, only to see Kendrick counter with a rolling arm drag takedown.

As both men then made it up to their feet, Kendrick ducked a hurried clothesline from Barrett and levelled him with a ferocious super kick to a big pop. Barrett though just about managed to get his shoulder up to the relief of his fellow countrymen on the outside and McIntyre on the apron. They then watched on nervously as Kendrick dragged him up for the Sliced Bread, but the Scot made sure it didn’t happen by storming the ring. Kendrick let go of Barrett and ducked another clothesline, this time from Drew and then hit him with a dropsault.

As he made it back up though, Barrett was on him in a flash and lifted him up for the Wasteland again, only as he turned round, London snuck in the ring and nailed him with a super kick. Barrett hit the deck again too a big cheer, but so did Kendrick. Regal wasn’t happy at all and got up on the apron, then climbed through the ropes as the ref tried to get London out of the ring. London protested as Regal & McIntyre then put the boots to Kendrick with the fans booing like crazy, but the ref was totally oblivious.

The UK Pack with TJ Wilson and then Natalya charged down the ramp to a massive pop and both Harry Smith & Paul Burchill dived under the bottom rope, going right for McIntyre & Regal to the shock of both London and the ref. TJ & Natalya looked on as they stomped both men to the outside before tossing Barrett over the ropes to join them, then talked smack at them on the floor as Kendrick sat up totally confused as to what was going on. He & London didn’t look best pleased by the tag champions’ actions and were questioning them as The Empire all stood up and left ringside fuming, glaring back at The UK Pack who turned back and stared right back at them with nothing but pure anger.

Result: No Contest.

*Cut Backstage*

Josh Matthews is standing by at the interview set.

Josh Matthews:
Ladies an’ gentleman, joining me at this time along with his team that will take on Team Miz at the Survivor Series is The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels.

A big pop is heard coming from the arena as the camera zooms out to show Shawn Michaels to the right of Matthews along with the fairly relaxed looking Elijah Burke & Kofi Kingston as well as a focused Bryan Danielson in his ring gear standing next to Michaels.

Josh Matthews:
Shawn we’re now just over a week away from the Survivor Series when you guys will take on Team Miz. Last week you unveiled the rest of your team and I want to get your thoughts on your team’s chances of defeating The Miz an’ the rest of his team when you meet in the traditional elimination match.

Shawn Michaels: Well Josh I couldn’t be happier. I’ve got a group of guys here I’ve got ev’ry faith in. I know they’ve all got what it takes t’ get the job done against Miz an’ his team an’ I know we’re gonna do just that. Then maybe The Miz will regret runnin’ that big mouth o’his, an’ with the way things have been goin’ lately it sure looks like it’s gonna be another win’ f’ Team H-B-K but I’ve been in this business a long time though Josh t’ know it doesn’t always work out like that. We’re not gonna ease up, that’s f’ sure. T’night it’s Bryan here’s first match in the big leagues an’ he’s gonna show the whole world an’ especially Team Miz why he’s one of the best in the business t’day.

Josh Matthews: Well Bryan that seems like a lot of expectation to live up to, especially coming from someone like Shawn Michaels. Is that going t’ be in the back of your mind when you make your Smackdown debut against Jack Swagger in just a few moments?

Matthews steps forward and extends the microphone in Danielson’s direction with Danielson turning to Michaels.

Bryan Danielson:
Yeah thanks f’ that man.

They both smirk and Danielson turns back to Matthews.

Bryan Danielson:
Honestly I don’t pay any attention t’ pressure. I’ve always believed in myself and my ability. When you’ve been trained by someone like Shawn, it’s hard not to, and t’night I’m gonna go out there an’ make him proud, then again at Survivor Series.

Matthews pulls the microphone back.

Josh Matthews:
Well good luck t’night Bryan and to the rest of you for the Survivor Series.

Shawn Michaels: Thanks Josh.

Michaels pats Josh on the back and then walks out of the shot followed by the rest of his team.

*Video Promo*

We’re shown footage of Team Miz leaving a locker room and heading up the hallway, led of course by The Miz with his rookie, Heath Slater, Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger who’s dressed for action, all with their game faces on with Danielson versus Swagger up after the break!

*Commercial Break*

We’re taken to the halls of the Long Beach Sports Arena where four of Smackdown’s divas, the Diva’s Champion, Beth Phoenix along with her rookie, Nikki Roxx, Mickie James & Layla are all standing around talking.

Beth Phoenix:
Oh please, I’d just love one night where I don’t have t’ talk about Michelle McCool. All I’m gonna say t’night is I’m gonna deal with her soon, but want I really want to talk about is when the big wedding’s going t’ be?

All eyes fall on the embarrassed Layla.

Layla:
What are you all looking at me for? Mickie’s getting all loved up at the moment too.

Beth Phoenix: Oh really? So we could be talking about a double wedding? Layla an’ Elijah plus you an’ Matt huh?

Mickie James: No no, don’t be silly. I like him a lot and he’s really sweet but we’re nowhere near that thank you Layla, but since you brought it up Beth, she’s got her eye on a quick wedding.

Beth Phoenix: Is that so?

Again all eyes fall on Layla who turns to Mickie, not too impressed she just spilled the beans.

?:
What’s this about a quick wedding?

All four divas turn round and the camera zooms out, and there stands O.D.B. supping from her flask.

O.D.B.:
A quick wedding huh? Sounds like you got yourself knocked up (gently slaps Layla’s stomach).

Layla: D’ you mind?

Mickie James: Clearly not.

O.D.B.: You wanna get y’self up the aisle before y’get all fat an’ can still fit in a dress.

The divas don’t look at all impressed with ODB’s bluntness.

Beth Phoenix:
Is this the crazy chick you were talking about?

Mickie James: That’s her.

O.D.B.: You make crazy sound like a bad thing. If y’all can’t handle crazy y’better get outta town ‘cause things are gonna get real crazy now O-D-B’s here ladies. Get ready.

She takes another swig from the flask and walks up the hall with all four divas looking on stunned.

Beth Phoenix:
What the hell was that?

Nikki Roxx: O-D-B apparently. . . whatever that means.

Mickie James: Oh I can think of a few things.

*Match #4*
Bryan Danielson w/Shawn Michaels, Kofi Kingston & Elijah Burke
vs. Jack Swagger w/The Miz, Dolph Ziggler & Heath Slater

Danielson looked mighty impressive on his WWE debut, helped along by the talents of Swagger too in a fiercely competitive match. Michaels was giving his protégé encouragement along the way, and despite impressing & taking control on a number of occasions, Danielson’s chances weren’t helped by interferences from Swagger’s team mates at ringside. However as the match was coming to a close, he came back fighting, lifting his knees up in to the gut of The All-American American as Swagger went for a corner slingshot splash.

As both men clawed their way back up, Swagger had a right hand blocked but Danielson made a mistake and went for an irish whip only to see Swagger reverse it and catch him as he came back off the ropes with a jumping knee smash. He wasted no time in dragging Danielson up and going for the tilt-a-whirl powerbomb, but Danielson countered, getting himself in position as Swagger lifted him up to lock in a guillotine choke to a big pop. Swagger fought back though and ran in to the corner, driving Danielson’s back in to the pads and breaking the grip.

Danielson slumped down the pads and Swagger backed up, watching intently as his opponent pulled himself up with the help of the ropes. The Miz was fiercely shouting instructions at The All-American American who then ran at Danielson with speed, but the debutant jumped up using the ropes to drive his knees in to Swagger’s face to a big pop. It sent him staggering away from the corner in a spin and Danielson ran at him, taking him down with a bulldog and quickly shimmying round on the mat to hook Swagger’s right arm and then apply the LeBell Lock.

The fans were cheering as Danielson locked it in and made Swagger scream out in pain, clearly in agony, and after a brave fight he tapped out to a another big roar from the crowd. Danielson stood up to get his arm raised as he was then joined in the ring by his Survivor Series team mates, all of which congratulated him, especially Michaels who gave him a guy hug as The Miz watched on in disgust with Swagger rolling to the apron. Michaels then raised Danielson’s arm again, pissing off The Miz and his team even more before all of Team HBK got in on the act and enjoyed the moment along with the fans, leaving The Miz livid.

Winner: Bryan Danielson by submission.

*Cut Backstage*

At the interview set, Josh Matthews is again standing by.

Josh Matthews:
Please welcome my guest at this time, John Cena.

A huge pop breaks out inside the arena and filters through to the back along with some boos as the cheer fades while the camera zooms out to show the relaxed John Cena standing alongside Josh.

Josh Matthews:
John, earlier on we heard C-M Punk and the rest of his team talking quite candidly about how they feel about you. . .

John Cena: . . . Let me stop y’there Josh. I know what you’re gonna ask me. You wanna know how I feel about what they said right? Well it’s real simple bro’. . . it don’t bother me. They can say whatever they want, I’ve heard it all before, it makes no diff’rence t’ me. They can take all the shots at me they want an’ the rest of my team for all I care. Bottom line is there’s only one way we’re gonna settle this an’ that’s in a week’s time at Survivor Series. Punk, Edge, Jericho, their rookies, their moms, their dads, they can all talk about this title shot f’ all I care, the only thing I care about is winnin’ the match, just like t’night.

Josh Matthews: I guess after last week an’ what happened in your match with Shelton Benjamin you’re out to prove a point t’night.

John Cena: Hey look Josh, I’ve always said Shelton’s a great athlete an’ he’s as good as anyone in the back. Last week he stepped up an’ made it tough, real tough, but you saw what went down. . . hell ev’ryone saw what went down. Jericho can run his mouth ‘bout No Mercy but he screwed me over last week. That ain’t gonna happen t’night Josh, (turns to the camera) but if y’watchin’ Chris, or anyone on Team Punk f’ that matter. . . if you’re thinkin’ ‘bout screwin’ me over t’night. . . you want some, come get some. I’ll be ready for the whole lot o’ya.

Cena stares defiantly in to the camera and now turns away, walking out of the shot having firmly made his point.

We’re shown a shot of the World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk and his rookie, Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez making their way through the back, both in their ring gear and looking fired up as they prepare to take on Christian & Matt Sydal when we come back!

*Commercial Break*

*Match #5*
Christian & Matt Sydal w/Mickie James
vs. CM Punk & Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez

The World Champion was fired up for this one and gave Del Rio-Ramirez a serious pep talk before the match, getting him ultra pumped too. Unfortunately for the mentor & rookie, Christian & Sydal meant business too, and Captain Charisma especially, clearly still pissed from last week. The Canadian came back firing just when it looked like Punk had the match wrapped up, but after a GTS attempt, Christian landed on his feet and ducked a wild right to send the World Champion spiralling in to the mat with the Killswitch.

He couldn’t take full advantage initially and when he could make the cover, Punk got his shoulder up at two. Christian took it on the chin and was getting ready for another as Punk started to stir. With the crowd willing him on, he was ready to explode, causing Del Rio-Ramirez to panic. The Mexican flew in to the ring and ran at him, almost catching him off guard. Christian turned at the last second and saw him coming, ducking an outstretched arm before drilling Punk’s rookie with a snap single-arm DDT.

As Christian then stood back up and Del Rio-Ramirez rolled towards the ropes, Punk was back on his feet and caught the Canadian as he turned round with a roundhouse kick, only to see Christian get the shoulder up at two. Punk wasn’t happy and he stared angrily in to the stands as he leaned back up on his knees. He stood up and brought Christian with him as Sydal urged his partner on. Punk fired Christian in to the pads and charged in, connecting with a jumping knee smash. He held on to Christian’s head and spun round before running out of the corner, planting Christian with a bulldog.

Punk taunted him as he stood up and said it was time for him to go to sleep. He dragged him up once again as Del Rio-Ramirez also stood up by the apron. The World Champion lifted him Christian up on to his shoulders, but the Canadian fought it, wriggling away on his shoulders and slid to safety down his back to push Punk right in the direction of his rookie. Punk put the brakes on and just avoided the collision with the Mexican, both breathing a sigh of relief. The ref though wanted Del Rio-Ramirez out of there and went over to try and do so. The rookie didn’t want to go easy and a chorus of boos broke out.

Punk turned round and ran at Christian who kicked him in the gut and set him up for the Killswitch, just as Edge slid in the ring after charging down the ramp. Christian couldn’t believe it and let go of Punk, but Edge charged at him and took him down with a thunderous spear. The ref was dealing with Del Rio-Ramirez and didn’t see it. Sydal did though and he turned the boos in to cheers as he stormed the ring and ran right at Edge, but Punk cut him off, nailing with him a roundhouse kick as Ede then made his escape route.

The boos rang out again as Punk dropped to cover Christian while his rookie left the ring, allowing the ref to make the count. Christian couldn’t kick out and Punk picked up the controversial win for him & Del Rio-Ramirez. The Rated-R Superstar backed away smirking as the smug World Champion stood up and nodded at him before getting his arm raised with his rookie to a ton of heat. They turned round and smiled back at Edge as “This Fire Burns” continued to play with Mickie checking on Sydal as both he & Christian started to come round, and Christian was fuming, glaring right in his remorseless brother’s direction with Punk & Del Rio-Ramirez smirking back too.

Winners: CM Punk & Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez by pinfall.

Footage of the fired up duo of Bobby Lashley & Charlie Haas making their way through the back is shown with their match against Edge & Chris Jericho coming up next!

*Commercial Break*

*Match #6*
Bobby Lashley & Charlie Haas
vs. Edge & Chris Jericho

Both teams came out firing, Lashley & Haas especially so, and they surprised their Canadian opponents. Edge & Jericho upped their game as the match went on having seemingly underestimated Lashley & Haas, and Jericho was getting incredibly frustrated. He was left in shock as he saw Haas kick out of the Lionsault and wasted no time in standing back up, urging Haas to pick himself back up. As soon as Haas picked himself up by the ropes, Jericho was right on him and went for the Codebreaker, but Haas held on to the ropes and Jericho fell back on the mat to a pop from the crowd.

Haas thought quickly and followed up for a jacknife cover. Jericho though kicked out and both men made their way back up. Haas ducked a wild right and caught the Canadian with a bridging german suplex. Again Jericho kicked out, and as they got back up to their feet Haas went for an Olympic Slam. Jericho though jumped back to land on his feet, and as Haas turned round he swept his feet and tried to apply the Walls of Jericho. Haas though blocked it and pushed at him with his feet, forcing Jericho back in to the ropes, and as he came back, Haas leaned up and pulled him in to an inside cradle.

The fans were cheering but were left disappointed as Jericho again kicked out. As they both then rushed back up, Haas ran back in to the ropes but Jericho jumped up and nailed him as he came back with a devastating enzuigiri. Jericho scurried across on his knees to make the cover but this time it was Haas that kicked out to piss him off again. He blew his top at the referee and was adamant it should’ve been three but the ref stood his ground as the frustrated Jericho got in his face.

A cheer broke out in the crowd and we saw Christian charging down the ramp with a face like thunder. He pulled the unsuspecting Edge down off the apron and nailed him with a right hand before firing him in to the security wall to a big pop. The Rated-R Superstar tried to climb over it and escape to safety but Captain Charisma went in pursuit through the crowd as they continued to cheer. The confused Jericho turned round and saw his partner gone as Haas crawled to his corner and tagged Lashley.

Jericho walked to the apron and watched Edge & Christian fighting their way through the crowd, unaware that Lashley had entered the ring and was getting ready to strike with the fans cheering him on. As Jericho then turned round and walked away from the ropes. Lashley exploded out of the corner and tore him in half with a spear and it was enough to earn the win for him & Haas, another huge victory for them as their roll on Friday nights continues.

Winners: Bobby Lashley & Charlie Haas by pinfall.

*The Main Event*
John Cena vs. Shelton Benjamin

As Shelton looked to repeat his victory of last week, the World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk and his rookie, Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez came out to watch their Survivor Series team mate from the announce table, not going down well with Cena. As he entered the ring to a huge ovation, he walked over to the apron and gave Punk & Del Rio-Ramirez the eyes, not that they were bothered with Punk saying he should focus his attention on Benjamin. The Gold Standard kept up the same standard as last week, competing tooth & nail with Cena, fighting his way to the ropes when it looked like he was set for defeat in the STFU and then getting his foot on the rope after the F-U.

Even Cena was somewhat surprised by his opponent’s resiliency, looking confused at what he had to do to put him away, and as Shelton pulled himself up by the ropes, Cena went right after him. He lifted him up on to his shoulders but Shelton held on to the top rope with one hand and swung his elbow back in to the side of Cena’s head, fighting his way down to his feet and then nailing a dragon whip to send Cena down. They were both back up in a flash and Benjamin fired Cena in to the corner before running in for a stinger splash. He back tracked out of the corner as Cena then staggered out in to his path and a samoan drop.

Punk was impressed but Shelton seemingly wasn’t. He didn’t go for the cover and immediately returned to his feet, retreating to the corner with his eyes locked on the squirming Cena. Benjamin was focused, so intense as he watched Cena’s every move, and as he clawed his way back up, Shelton looked to pounce, running right at him for the Paydirt. Cena though reacted in a split second and ducked his head to lift Shelton up on to his shoulders to a big pop. He didn’t waste a second and sent him crashing in to the canvas with the F-U. The fans barely had chance to cheer as Cena then turned Benjamin over on to his back and applied the STFU to an even bigger pop.

They were cheering like crazy as Shelton desperately tried to hold on with Cena cranking up the pressure, but The Gold Standard tried to fight it again, holding up his right hand and trying to reach out. It was hopeless though and this time he couldn’t escape with Cena forcing him to tap out after a brave effort. By the time Cena stood up to get his arm raised with “My Time is Now” playing, Del Rio-Ramirez sneaked his way in to the ring behind him and took him down with a shoulder barge. The fans booed and the music cut as the Mexican put the boots to Cena with Punk calmly removing his headset at the announce table to join his rookie in the ring.

The boos continued as Punk entered the ring and dropped his title belt before instructing Del Rio-Ramirez to back off. The World Champion coolly walked over to his rival and helped him up from his knees and lifted him up on to his shoulders, then hit him with the GTS to a ton of heat and a few cheers mixed in. Punk stood up with a big smirk on his face, his rookie also smiling at the sight of Cena down & out as Benjamin sat up. Punk then went to help up Shelton as cheers broke out and Bobby Lashley & Charlie Haas charged down the ramp.

Punk, Del Rio-Ramirez & Shelton turned at the right time to see them coming and made their quick exit with The Straight-Edge Superstar grabbing his title before slipping out of the ring. The angry duo of Lashley & Haas slid in the ring to see them off, glaring at them as they back tracked up the ramp staring right back at them as Cena started to come round. “This Fire Burns” hit and the smug Punk raised his title up in the air with the Team Cena members and the man himself furiously staring right at him as the show came to a close.

Winner: John Cena by submission.

>Let Battle Commence!<

The final place on Team Smackdown for the Survivor Series was up for grabs last night and it was filled by former Raw superstar, Santino Marella after he defeated Johnny Jeter in what can only be described as controversial circumstances, however the controversy wasn’t just contained to the match.

Moments before the match, two members of Raw’s team for the Battle of Brands in Cody Rhodes & Joe Hennig tried & failed to get in to the arena, however their team captain, the Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus succeeded. The undefeated Irishman sneaked his way in to the ring through the crowd before taking the latest member of Team Smackdown’s head off with an almighty Brogue Kick and then being chased back in to the crowd by Ron Killings and Smackdown’s captain, M.V.P.

There’s no doubt that the two brands are gunning for each other as they prepare to do battle next weekend at the Survivor Series with brand pride at stake, and given what’s happened the last few weeks, you may well see both teams invading each other’s turf this coming week!

>Friday Night Fireworks!<

Having missed out on that spot on Team Smackown, Johnny Jeter was livid last night and he placed all the blame at the door of his now former rookie, Yoshi Tatsu.

The Cruiserweight Champion was quickly feeling the frustration at being unable to put Santino away and called for Tatsu to pass him his title belt to help seal the deal, and after doing as his mentor asked, the Japanese rookie had a change of heart and tried to get the belt back. Jeter & Tatsu fought over the title and gave Santino the chance to sneak the victory.

Jeter snapped afterwards and called his rookie back as he went to leave the ring, and after his outburst, he walked away from his responsibility of mentoring him. That decision didn’t go down all that well with Tazz, but the Smackdown General Manager did admit he felt it was for the best before then making a match between Jeter & Tatsu for next Friday night.

His title won’t be on the line but Jeter is still sure to have a battle on his hands. Tune in to find out whether the rookie can get one over on his now former mentor!

Another match added for next week will see another now former mentor & rookie combination go to war as the latest permanent addition to the Smackdown roster, J-Red go looking for serious revenge against Chavo Guerrero.

Just over a week ago, Red looked on the verge of becoming the new Cruiserweight Champion until his mentor at the time made sure that didn’t happen, and last night Red went to Tazz demanding he get his hands on the Mexican. The G.M. gave him his wish for next week and also promised he would soon get another crack at Jeter and the Cruiserweight Championship as well as a permanent place on the roster, meaning he & Chavo are no longer mentor & rookie.

It’s going to be all out war next week when they collide. Make sure you don’t miss it!

Monday Night Raw Preview
Monday 3rd November 2008
1st Mariner Arena
Baltimore, Maryland

We’re less than a week away from the 22nd Annual Survivor Series and we’re all set for what should be an explosive edition of Raw tonight live from the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore.

This Sunday will see three former Evolution team-mates, Batista, Triple H & Randy Orton battle it out for The Animal’s WWE Championship, and last week we saw that for those who were starting to believe Batista could trust The Viper, well he struck like only a viper can. Orton let everyone know that the only thing on his mind was getting to the Survivor Series and becoming the WWE Champion once again, and then he left The Animal in no uncertain terms that he can’t be trusted or underestimated.

With both men joined in the ring by Triple H, Batista went after revenge for the week before and took the fight to The Game, but after flooring Triple H, he fell victim to an RKO right out of nowhere. It should be a reminder to the WWE Champion that he can’t take his eyes off Orton for a second, and if he does this Sunday the odds are he’ll lose the title all three men are desperately fighting for. Based on the actions of last week, Batista is sure to be looking for revenge again tonight when he arrives in Baltimore, but could it lead to more trouble for The Animal? Tune in to find out as all hell could break loose.

All hell did indeed break loose last week when The Big Show went after some revenge of his own against The Corporation, leaving a very dark cloud over his scheduled Hell in a Cell Loser Leaves Town match with John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield’ at the Survivor Series. The carnage almost didn’t end there, as after chokeslamming J.B.L. on to the steel steps, it looked as if Mr. McMahon was going to be slammed off the stage by The World’s Largest Athlete.

Mr. McMahon begged for his life and Big Show took pity on him, choosing not to go through it despite the desperate pleas from the crowd. However it didn’t take long for us to find out afterwards that J.B.L. had been injured after the chokeslam on the steel, and the word is it is unlikely he will be able to compete inside Hell in a Cell at Survivor Series. Earlier on today we were advised that Mr. McMahon will be on Raw tonight and he will be giving us a ‘serious’ update on his son’s condition. Will he in fact be able to step inside Satan’s Structure with their careers hanging in the balance, and is this just another ruse to try & fool The Big Show?

The rivalry between the Raw & Smackdown superstars is seriously threatening to boil over, and last Friday night Team Raw defied Smackdown General Manager, Tazz’s instructions to stay away. Cody Rhodes & Joe Hennig were sent packing by Tazz but just seconds after Santino Marella won the last spot on Team Smackdown, Raw’s captain, Sheamus stormed the ring through the crowd and took the former Raw star’s head off with the deadly Brogue Kick.

The Intercontinental Champion was then chased back through the crowd by M.V.P. & Ron Killings, two men who once again showed up on Raw last Monday night, going after some retaliation against Rhodes & Hennig. You have to assume Team Smackdown will be looking to get back at Sheamus and the rest of Team Raw later on as the Battle of the Brands approaches. Make sure you check in on Raw tonight to see if we’ll see the stars of Friday night a few days early!

The Battle of the Brands isn’t the only traditional elimination match that will take place featuring both Raw & Smackdown superstars at Survivor Series as Raw’s very own Mr. Hollywood, The Miz will be leading his ‘awesome’ team in to battle against Team H.B.K. Over the past couple of weeks, The Heartbreak Kid has seen his team gain some serious momentum at the expense of Team Miz, and last Friday night was no different when Bryan Danielson made an impressive and more importantly a successful start to his WWE career by beating Jack Swagger. The frustration may well be getting to The Miz, and if he wants to lead his team his victory he has to turn that momentum around and very, very soon. Will he and the rest of Team Miz be able to do that tonight? Only time will tell.

This Sunday we’ll finally crown new World Tag Team Champions when three teams will collide in a triple threat match, the final of the tournament in which Christopher Daniels & Kaval continue to claim they should’ve won. Their frustration at having to face both the teams of Matt Hardy & Gregory Helms and Rey Mysterio & Mystico still grates them, and last week Daniels had the opportunity to let off some steam against Helms.

As he hopes & plans to this weekend, he came out on top with Mysterio & Mystico watching closely at ringside. We’ve learned earlier today that Eric Bischoff has made a triple threat match for tonight’s show which will feature one member of each team. It will see Matt Hardy take on Kaval and Mysterio’s rookie, team-mate and fellow Mexican, Mystico. Who will gain a significant boost going in to Survivor Series later on tonight? There’s only one way to find out and that’s to tune in to Raw live tonight from Baltimore!

Last Monday night saw Mia Rain overcome Gail Kim to earn herself a shot at Melina’s Women’s Championship next week live on Raw, but this week the new number one contender will team up with the Bella Twins to face Melina, Kim and Kim’s rookie, Shantelle Taylor in a six diva tag team match. Rain has the chance to send a direct statement of intent to Melina this week, but will she be able to do just that?

Another rookie in action tonight is Homicide when he takes on the former host of Raw, Zack Ryder. With decisions on the future of the rookies due any day now, will JTG’s protégé pick up the win and give himself a better chance of getting himself a permanent place on the Raw roster?

For all this more, don’t even think about missing this week’s Raw, the final Raw before this weekend’s Survivor Series. You simply can’t afford to miss it!

*Video Recap*
From Last Week

‘The Legend Killer’ Randy Orton
walks out to the stage to a largely negative reception with some cheers mixed in as he and his rookie, Darren Young look in to the crowd and then walk down the ramp and in to the ring. Orton walks over to the apron and asks for a microphone. His music cuts and frees him to speak with some of the fans still booing, not seeming to bother Orton in the slightest.

Randy Orton:
I’ve come out here t’night t’ set the record straight. I’ve been completely honest from the moment I lost the W-W-E Championship at WrestleMania. Since then I’ve said all I want is t’ get back the W-W-E title. I don’t care an’ never have about what people say about me. All I’m doing is covering my back. I know an’ Dave knows what Triple H is capable of more than anyone. We know that he’ll do whatever it takes an’ more t’ get his hands on the W-W-E title. I know from experience when he stabbed me in the back when I became the youngest world champion in hist’ry. . . I wasn’t gonna let him take me out before Survivor Series. It’s his fault I’m not the W-W-E Champion right now. He blindsided me at Unf’given when I had the title in the bag. I had it won. I had Batista beat.

“TIME T’ PLAY THE GAME. . .”

A very serious looking Triple H walks out to the stage to a ton of heat from the Biloxi crowd. He stops & stares at Orton who’s now staring right back at him, and The Game heads off down the ramp with his eyes solely fixed on Orton who watches Triple H step through the ropes and walk right up to him. They go eye-to-eye with Young watching closely in case anything kicks off but they just stare at each other and The Game backs off to walk past him and get a microphone. Boos echo around the arena as the music cuts and Triple H stands by the ropes staring over at The Legend Killer with a huge amount of tension between them, and The Game walks closer towards his former Evolution team-mate.

Triple H:
Randy, you’re right. will do whatever I have to t’ get my hands on the W-W-E title. Don’t f’get it. If I felt I had t’ take you an’ Dave out before Survivor Series, I’d ‘ave done it by now. The fact is I don’t need to. I don’t need to for one simple reason, that I know I can beat the both of you. That’s exactly what I’m going t’ do at Survivor Series when I once again become the W-W-E Champion. Randy you’ve had more than enough chances t’ get it back, wh. . .

Randy Orton: . . . Like I said, if it wasn’t f’ you I wouldn’t need another chance. I’d. . .

Triple H: . . . Keep telling yourself that, bottom line is. . .

Randy Orton: . . . THE BOTTOM LINE IS YOU GOT INVOLVED IN MY BUSINESS AT UNF’GIVEN. YOU’RE THE ONLY REASON I’M NOT THE W-W-E CHAMPION RIGH. . .

“In The End”

An enormous roar goes off inside the Allstate Arena as the fired up WWE Champion, Batista walks out to the stage with a microphone in hand and his title draped over his shoulder. He stops & stares down at Orton, Triple H & Young in the ring for a couple of seconds and then heads down the ramp without looking in to the crowd, attention firmly on his rivals. He walks up the steps and in to the ring, again staring at both men, mainly Triple H as the music is cut in the truck, bringing out the cheers and chants of “Batista”.

Batista:
Y’know what? I’m sick of all this talk. What happened all those years ago in Evolution, it’s in the past. I know you’ll both do whatever it takes t’ get this title off me but let me tell y’somethin’. I’m gonna fight like crazy t’ keep this around my waist at Survivor Series an’ you’re both gonna be in the fight of your lives.

*Big Pop*

Batista: Like I said though, I’m not here t’ talk t’night. I’m here f’ one thing an’ that’s payback. Payback f’ what happened last week.

Batista snaps, drops the microphone and his title belt to charge at Triple and tackle him down to the mat to a massive pop. Orton & Young step back in shock and just watch as Batista pummels The Game with a series of right hands. The WWE Champion lets go and stands up, bringing Triple H with him and firing him in to the ropes. The Game hits them but holds on to them, infuriating Batista. The Animal runs right at him, not waiting around, but he runs right in to an extended elbow and Triple H runs out as he turns round to nail him with a high knee lift.

The Game stares down at him but Orton & Young run up from behind him and club him down to the mat, then put the boots to him. The Legend Killer means business now and instructs his rookie to pull Triple H up and he does, letting go for his mentor to leap up and plant him with the RKO to a mixed reception but mainly cheers. As Orton stands up, so does Batista and they look awkwardly at each other with the crowd cheering. Orton turns his head in to the crowd for a split second before turning back to catch the WWE Champion off guard with an RKO, this time to a ton of heat.

The fans boo the hell out of The Viper as he stands back up and stares down remorselessly at both the fallen Batista & Triple H as “Voices” plays. He then turns his head and sees the WWE title lying there. He walks over to it and picks it up, taking a long look at it before looking back at Batista and dropping it on his chest. He then goes to leave the ring with Young as the fans continue to boo him with Batista & Triple H both coming round slowly.

The Big Show vs. Orlando Jordan

Show was an angry giant from the moment he stepped out in to the arena. He didn’t give Jordan a look in, making quick work of the former United States Champion. Jordan was helpless as the world’s largest athlete threw him around like a rag doll at times. He had Jordan in agony, especially after a reverse thrown powerbomb in to the turnbuckle pads. Jordan was defenceless as Show dragged him up to his feet and sent him right back down, crashing in to the canvas courtesy of a thunderous chokeslam that earned him the victory, not that he was satisfied with it as he walked over to the apron and asked for a microphone.

The Big Show: VINCE, J-B-L, if you’re back there an’ had the guts t’ show up t’night, I want you t’ drag your sorry asses down here right now.

*Big Pop*

The Big Show: Come on, I’m not goin’ anywhere ‘til y. . .

A barrage of boos breaks out as Vince McMahon & John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield casually walk out to the stage with J-B-L holding a microphone and looking down at the furious Big Show.

John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield:
Show, we don’t resort t’ threats, and if you think I’d allow my father to walk on down t’ that ring t’night you’re even dumber than we gave you credit for. To put it simply there’s no way in hell either of us are stepping in that ring with you. We just came out here t’ wish that rookie of yours well. We just hope he’s not too hurt after last week.

The Big Show drops the stick and steps over the ropes, taking Vince & J.B.L by surprise. The giant jumps down on to the floor and makes his way up the ramp to a big pop.

John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield:
You’re really gonna do this are y’Show? Fine, (turns to Vince) but dad you stay there, I’ll take care of this.

J.B.L. hands Vince the microphone and takes off his jacket, then passes it to his dad too and heads off down the ramp, stomping his way down as Show stops at the bottom, urging J.B.L. to get on down, ready & waiting for him. Layfield has his eyes locked on Show and means business too, and as he gets towards him at the foot of the ramp, he starts talking smack, getting some back from Show when there’s a loud pop. Show smirks and the cheers force J.B.L. to turn round and see Justin Gabriel battering Vince with a series of right hands, knocking him to the floor.

Gabriel looks like a man possessed as he puts the boots to Vince, infuriating Layfield who turns round to go & help him out, but Show grabs him by the shoulder and then with his other hand to send him crashing in to the barricade. Gabriel at the top of the ramp picks Vince up and sends him face first in to the stage. The South African turns his attention elsewhere and paces down the ramp as his mentor drags J.B.L. back up and tosses him down on the ramp, sending him rolling down to the floor by the apron.

Show & Gabriel follow with the seven footer dragging him right back up to send him flying in to the steel steps to an almighty crash, getting another big pop from the crowd. Show doesn’t look satisfied though with Gabriel staring down coldly at the helpless J.B.L. Big Show now sees the steps on the floor and takes a glance back at the fallen J.B.L., then picks them up to a huge roar. Unwittingly, Layfield claws his way back up on the floor with Vince shown writhing around at the top of the stage.

J.B.L. looks in a bad way as he picks himself back up, totally oblivious to the crazed seven footer behind him, and as he turns round, Show hammers him with the steps, putting J.B.L. right back down on the floor with the fans cheering like mad. Gabriel and his mentor look at each other and Show nods towards the ring, then drags Layfield up again to toss him in to the ring, not that J.B.L. is moving. They then climb on to the apron and Show stops to give his rookie some instructions, pointing to the top rope. Gabriel nods his head emphatically and climbs up to the summit with J.B.L. lying beneath him while the fans continue to cheer.

The South African stares down intently at Layfield and then leaps up in to the air and comes crashing down on him with a 450 splash to a huge pop. Gabriel stands up, still staring down remorselessly at his attacker from last week. Show though doesn’t look satisfied enough and steps down off the apron to pick up the steps again, and he tosses them inside the ring, setting off another massive cheer from the capacity crowd. Gabriel turns his head as his mentor steps over the ropes and in to the ring with his eyes firmly focused on the weary J.B.L. as he tries to sit up.

Show positions the steps away from the ropes and goes after his rival, once again pulling him up to his feet. He drags him up to his feet and grabs him around the throat for a chokeslam to another big pop, then shifts round to the steps. Gabriel doesn’t look in the least bit shocked and watches on intently as Vince sits up on the stage, looking on in horror & helplessly. The Big Show looks possessed and stares in to the petrified eyes of Layfield, then lifts him up off the feet and chokeslams him down on to the steps with his back being slammed right on to the steel.

Vince looks shell shocked and the intense Big Show turns his head to see Vince there on the stage, and the giant stares right at him. He then turns round and climbs over the ropes again, provoking panic for the Chairman of the Board. Gabriel looks surprised now and follows his mentor who walks menacingly up the ramp with Vince desperately trying to make it up to his feet. Show gets closer towards him and then walks right up to his feet, imposing a big shadow over Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

He begs for mercy as Show glares down at him with evil intentions, then reaches down and pulls him up to his feet. Gabriel looks slightly concerned now as his mentor pulls Vince towards the edge of the stage with Vince really starting to panic. He pleads for his life as Show grabs him around the throat, getting ready for a chokeslam with the fans going nuts. Vince is freaking out and begs Show not to do it, and even Gabriel watches on nervously with Show not showing any signs of showing him mercy.

It looks like Vince is going to cry, desperately pleading with Show to let him go, and the seven footer for some reason pulls back and lets him go to a ton of heat with Vince dropping to his knees and breathing a huge sigh of relief. Show stares down at him with Vince looking up at him, still relieved and breathing heavily as J.B.L. comes round in the ring, completely oblivious to what’s going on with Show still glaring down at Vince and Gabriel looking on behind his merciless mentor.

*Cut to the Arena*

***Pyro***
***Pyro***
***Pyro***

We’re shown a shot of the intimidating structure that is Hell in a Cell looming large above the ring and are now taken to ringside and the announce position with good ol’ JR & The King.

Jim Ross: Good evening ev’ryone an’ welcome to Monday Night Raw, live t’night from the First Mariner Arena in Baltimore where we’re now just six nights away from the Survivor Series. That of course promises t’ be an amazing night, an’ with so much at stake an’ taking in to account what happened last week it sure makes t’night’s show unpredictable t’ say the least right King?

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler: Oh absolutely. There’s no doubt there’s some huge matches Sunday at Survivor Series, but after what we saw last week with The Big Show, Randy Orton, plus what Team Raw did going t’ Smackdown last Friday, all hell could break loose here t’night J-R.

Jim Ross: There’s absolutely no doubt about that, an’ if you believe what I’m sure you’ve read on W-W-E dot com over the last week, J-B-L may well be unable to compete in the loser leaves town Hell in a Cell match set for Sund’y night against The Big Show. What we’ve been told earlier on is that his father, Vince McMahon is here t’night an’ he will be making a serious announcement later on regarding J-B-L’s condition an’ whether he will be competing at Survivor Series. I f’ one King wouldn’t be too surprised t’ see J-B-L duck out of that match. I know f’ sure I wouldn’t wanna get inside that cell with The Big Show, especially in the mood he was in last week.

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler: Y’know J-R, I’ve heard a lot of people say the same thing, but what I would say is whatever a lot of people think about J-B-L, he likes a fight. He’s one tough cookie but after seeing what happened to ‘im last week, I wouldn’t be all that shocked if he really is hurt.

Jim Ross: Well only time will tell. . .

“I hear voices in my head. . .”

A surge of boos ring break out inside the arena as ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton walks out to the stage with his rookie, Darren Young. Both in their casual clothes and looking incredibly serious this evening, they stop & stare in to the stands for a couple of seconds and head down the ramp with the fans still booing & jeering the mentor & rookie combination. Orton doesn’t seem bothered as he stares straight ahead and walks to the steps, followed by Young, and they both enter the ring to more heat from the Baltimore fans.

They again stare in to the audience, not showing them much love either, and The Legend Killer now walks over to the apron and holds out his hand for a microphone, getting one from Lilian Garcia. As he walks back to stand alongside his rookie, his music is cut by the guys in the production truck, bringing out the boos even more. Orton though calmly waits for them to die down, but Young doesn’t appear too happy by their reaction.

Randy Orton:
I have never once cared about what anyone thinks of me, whether it be you people or the guys in the back I share the locker room with. I never have and I never will. That’s why I am the man I am t’day. That is why I have been as successful as I have been an’ why I became the youngest ever world champion of all time.

*Heat*

Randy Orton: I’ll be the first to admit I may not be popular but I don’t care. Being popular doesn’t get you success. Right now I know that there are people back there talking about how I RKO’d Batista last week an’ how I apparently stabbed him in the back. I admitted that I did what I had t’ do t’ get t’ the Survivor Series with the best chance of taking back the W-W-E title. If I kept Batista onside, I knew he’d have my back if Triple H tried anything t’ take me out like we both know he’s capable of. I don’t regret what I did and I certainly won’t apologise for it.

*Boos*

Randy Orton: This f’ me is all about one thing, the W-W-E Championship. It’s not about my wife or my family, it’s about doing what I come here t’ do week in week out since day one. That’s be the best in this business bar none. I haven’t come here f’ the last six weeks trying t’ score with anyone’s wife like Dave, and I haven’t turned up each week looking t’ get even like a jealous teenager like Hun’er has. All I care about is walking out of Survivor Series as the W-W-E Champion.

*More Boos*

Randy Orton: Unlike my opponents, my eyes are on what matters. They always have been an’ I will do whatever it takes t’ make sure I do just that. Whether I’ve got in Dave’s head or not, it doesn’t matter. That’s not what I set out t’ do an’ I don’t care if people wanna say I did that deliberately. The fact is I didn’t need t’ get in his or Hun’er’s head because I already am. Ev’rybody knows we have hist’ry. Ev’rybody knows what happened when I became the youngest world champion in the hist’ry of this company. I eclipsed them both an’ they couldn’t handle it. Hun’er especially couldn’t handle it, but like this Sunday there’s nothing he could do about it.

*Heat*

Randy Orton: The fact of the matter is I was already better than both Hun’er an’ Dave, an’ that’s not changed. Four years down the line an’ I’m even better than I was back then. They’re both four years older, but f’ them that’s not a good thing. Whereas I’ve matured as an athlete, they’re heading in another direction, an’ that’s down. They’re all but on their last legs. They can’t compete with me anymore, an’ when they get in the ring with me at Survivor Series after ev’rything we went through in Evolution, they’ll realise that and that they have no choice but to accept that back then I was the man an’ that’s never changed.

*Major Heat*

Orton stares in to the crowd intensely, meaning every word he says with Young nodding alongside him.

Randy Orton:
Four years ago they stabbed they me in the back an’ cast me aside, but a week from now when I walk down t’ this ring once again the W-W-E Champion, they won’t be able t’ do a damn thing.

*Boos*

Randy Orton: There’s nothing they can do t’ stop it from happening. I will be victorious Sunday at the event where I’ve defied the odds time an’ time again, being a sole survivor on no less than three occasions. This is my event an’ this Sunday will be no diff’rent. I will survive again and this time walk out the new W-W-E Ch. . .

“In the End”

A huge pop lifts the roof off of the arena here in Baltimore as the WWE Champion, Batista walks out to the stage, and boy does he not look happy tonight. He glares right down at Orton who turns round to look up at his rival with the fans going nuts. Also dressed casually, The Animal makes his way down to the ring with his eyes locked on The Viper and the W-W-E title draped over his shoulder.

Orton & Young watch him every step of the way as the angry Animal wastes no time joining them inside the ring before pacing past them both, turning his head in the process to keep his eyes on them. He heads to the apron and asks for a microphone, getting one passed to him. He turns round and stares at Orton & Young, still looking back in his direction as the music comes to a halt. The fans continue to cheer as Batista looks in to the crowd and then back at his rival, trying to compose himself before speaking.

Batista:
Randy. . . Randy Randy Randy. . . I don’t know what t’ say, I really don’t. I guess I don’t know whether I’m angry with you or myself. You said it y’self; all you’ve ever cared about is y’self, but I’ve gotta say you had me going. After ev’rything we’ve been through an’ what I’ve seen you pull over the years I actually believed you. I actually thought you had my back, but y’know what? I was stupid t’ think that an’ now I know that. It was stupid just like you are if you actually believe you’re gonna walk in t’ Survivor Series an’ out with the W-W-E title just like that. Believe me Randy, that’s not gonna happen.

*Big Pop*

Batista: If that’s what you actually think’s gonna happen then you’re gonna be in f’ one hell of a shock. Yeah me an’ Hun’er ‘ave got issues but the only thing I’m thinkin’ about goin’ in t’ Survivor Series is the same as you. The only thing on my mind is walking out still the W-W-E Champion.

*More Cheers*

Batista: You better be ready for a fight Randy ‘cause that’s what it’s gonna be. No one’s takin’ this title from me without one, an’ after last week when you did what you did best, fighting like a coward, from behind. . . Y’know what Randy? Thinkin’ about that, what happened last week, I don’t wanna wait ‘til Sunday. I got my hands on Hun’er last week an’ a bit of payback, now, it’s your turn. He’s not the only one who can take you out before Survivor Series. I can do that now an’ y’know what? I think these fans here t’night wanna see that too, AM I RIGHT?

*Massive Cheer*

Batista: I thought you’d say that.

The fans cheer again as Batista takes off his watch and gets ready for a fight, surprising the hell out of Orton.

Randy Orton:
You wanna do this Dave? Fine, but let me remind you of what you’re up against. You know right now like I do that I should be the W-W-E Champion. I had you beat at Unf’given an’ I’d be champion like I should be if it wasn’t f’ Hun’er. This time though no one can save you. The title will be mine. I showed you last week that in just that split second, it’ll be all over. One R-K-O an’ it’s over. The match, your title reign, it’s done. It’ll happen Sunday Dave I guarantee it. That title’s mine.

*Heat*

Batista: Yeah? F’ a change Randy how about you shut your mouth, get rid of that microphone an’ fight like a man f’ once?

*Pop*

Orton doesn’t look too happy about it at all as Batista drops his microphone and puts his title down on the mat too, now though Orton & Young turn at look at each other. They smirk and then look back at The Animal, knowing they have the numbers in their favour, and Batista realises he’s got someone else to deal with as well as Orton. They now coolly walk towards the WWE Champion as Batista gets ready to fight.

?:
Wait just a second.

Eric Bischoff is shown walking out to the stage with a microphone in hand, not looking too pleased right now and the unamused Orton & Young turn their attention to their boss and away from Batista.

Eric Bischoff:
As tempting as it may be t’ let you guys go at it t’night, I’m sorry but I just can’t let that happen.

*Major Heat*

Eric Bischoff: Hey, like I said I’m sorry, but if I let them go at it, you might not see either or both of them Sunday at Survivor Series. What kind of authority figure would I be t’ let that happen? So as I said, I’m sorry, but there is something I would like t’ say since I’m out here.

Looking confused as well as angry, Orton, Young & Batista all look up at Raw’s Head of Authority standing there looking right back.

Eric Bischoff:
Now as you may or may not know, I have some decisions t’ make as far as which rookies if any get a contract here on Raw, an’ previously I made it pretty clear that any mentors who I thought abused their position, their rookies probably wouldn’t get one. Randy, I’d have t’ say that you’re arguably the most guilty of those who have used their rookies for your own benefit. So Darren as far as your future here goes, well I’m sorry t’ say, but effectively immediately you’ll be heading back to Florida an’ the training academy. I won’t be offering you a permanent contract here.

*Pop*

Randy Orton: You can’t do that Bischoff.

Eric Bischoff: Well Randy I’m afraid I can. What I can’t do is allow you t’ try an’ use him to your advantage Sunday night. I know full well you’ll plan on having him in your corner helping you t’ get your hands on the W-W-E title. . .

Randy Orton: . . . That’s got nothing t’ do with it. I couldn’t care less if he’s not in my corner. I can win the title all by myself. This is about him, not me.

Orton & Young stand there staring intently up at Bischoff who looks like he could be buying it.

Eric Bischoff:
Okay, y’know what I’ll do? I’ll give you one last shot Darren, right here t’night in the main event, but it’s not gonna be any old main event. T’night in that ring you’re going t’ see Randy Orton team up with his rookie Darren Young, an’ if you guys win, then Darren you’ll get yourself a full time contract, but your opponents are going t’ be none other than the W-W-E Champion Batista. . .

*Big Pop*

Eric Bischoff: . . . and ‘The Game’, Triple H.

*Mixed Reaction*

Batista doesn’t look like he likes that one bit, shaking his head and looking up at Bischoff, throwing his arms out and asking “really?” Bischoff just looks back and half heartedly apologises, holding his hands out.

“TIME T’ PLAY THE GAME. . .”

A ton of heat breaks out as ‘The Game’ Triple H walks out to the stage to join Bischoff, eyes locked on the Head of Authority holding a microphone.

Triple H:
Cut the damn music.

The Game glares at his boss with Batista, Orton & Young all not happy looking up at the stage.

Triple H:
Have you lost your mind? Do you seriously think I can team with him? You know what’s been goin’ on. . .

Eric Bischoff: . . . With all due respect Hun’er, the whole locker room knows what is or isn’t going on between Batista an’ Stephanie. That however is not my concern. What does concern me is what happens in that ring and I’ve made my decision. Sunday night you’ll meet both Randy an’ Batista for the W-W-E Championship, but t’night in the main event you will team up with the current W-W-E Champion Batista, that’s if you still want that title shot at Survivor Series. It’s up t’ you Hun’er. If you don’t wanna team up with Batista later on, then that’s fine by me. It’s your decision.

Hunter stares furiously at Bischoff, knowing full well he’s bent over a barrel. He shakes his head and throws his microphone down on the stage, then looks down at the ring, still pissed before turning round and walking to the back.

Eric Bischoff:
Well I guess we’ve got ourselves a main event. . . Gentleman, good luck t’night.

“Back in Black” plays and Bischoff smirks down to the ring and turns round to head backstage with Orton & Young both staring intently at Batista who stares right back, not intimidated by them one bit.

*Video Promo*

Team Miz (The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger & Heath Slater), led of course by The Miz who’s the only one not in his ring gear are shown walking purposefully through the back, seemingly headed for the ring for when we come back.

*Commercial Break*

“AWE-SOME!!!. . .”

Leading his Survivor Series team out to a chorus of boos, The Miz power walks his way down the ramp giving the crowd dirty looks the whole way. Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger & Heath Slater have their game faces on as they follow their captain, all in their ring gear as the fans continue to boo them in to the ring with The Miz going to collect a microphone. His music grinds to a halt and he walks to centre stage, still in a bad mood it seems with his team standing alongside him.

The Miz:
All I’ve heard for the last few days is how at Survivor Series Shawn Michaels and his team are going to walk all over us, well I’m sorry t’ break it t’ you but I assure you that’s not how this is gonna pan out an’ I’ll tell y’why. I put this team t’gether. I picked them, each one of them. Just like me, they’re young, determined an’ have talent coming out of their ears. We’ve got what it takes t’ win Sunday night an’ guess what Baltimore? You might all think Michaels an’ his team have got in the bag but you’re wrong. . . so so wrong. You’re winners are standing right here ‘cause we’re the ones who are gonna be victorious Sunday night.

*Tons of Boos*

The Miz: Yeah, you heard me right. We’re gonna defy the haters, rise t’ the challenge an’ beat Team H-B-K.

*Tons of Boos*

The Miz: Not only that, we’re gonna enjoy it. Believe me, it’s gonna happen, an’ when it does you’ll have no choice but t’ show me the respect I deserve. As much as you don’t wanna see or believe it, we’re all going in one direction, all the way t’ the top. Now I know you’d love nothing more than t’ see me. . . us fail, but we won’t. T’ prove it t’ you, I’m here t’night t’ throw out a challenge t’ the man himself, Shawn Michaels.

*Big Pop*

The Miz: I know you’re back there Shawn with the rest of your team, an’ t’ show you personally just how confident I am in my team, I’m proposing the three men here I’ve chosen take on the three you’ve picked t’ lose t’night like you all will Sunday at Survivor Series.

*Heat*

The Miz: What’s it gonna be Shawn huh? You g. . .

“I think I’m cute. . .”

The crowd goes nuts as Shawn Michaels leads his team out to the stage. Michaels is looking quite relaxed and shows his appreciation to the crowd, applauding them while holding a microphone with Kofi Kingston, Elijah Burke & Bryan Danielson also looking laid back but they’re in the ring gear unlike their captain. The crowd chant “H.B.K.” as his music stops, not going down well with Team Miz whatsoever in the ring as they all turn round to face the stage, staring angrily at their Survivor Series opponents.

Shawn Michaels:
Miz, as far as that challenge of yours goes an’ on behalf of my team, we happily accept.

*Big Pop*

Shawn Michaels: But why not stop there kid? See you’ve been swingin’ by Smackdown a whole lot lately, so I’ve got a proposition f’ you my man. How about since we’re takin’ a step back t’night an’ lettin’ these guys go at it, Friday night me an’ you hook up one on one?

*More Cheers*

Shawn Michaels: What d’ y’say Miz? Personally I think it’s an awesome idea.

The Miz: Shawn, I can see you lookin’ at me like you think I’m gonna find a way out of it, well you’re wrong. I’m not scared of getting in the ring with you, being shown up by you. I can’t wait t’ get in the ring with you. I’d ‘ave waited ‘til Survivor Series if I had to but I’ll be there on Smackdown, an’ I’ll beat you on Smackdown just like I will on Sunday f’ one simple reason, ‘cause I’M THE MIZ, AND I’M AWE-SOME.

Boos ring round the arena as Miz stares intently up at Michaels & Co as they head down the ramp, all raring to go as Team Miz get ready in the ring.

*The Opening Match*
Kofi Kingston, Bryan Danielson & Elijah Burke w/Shawn Michaels
vs. Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler & Heath Slater w/The Miz

This was a chaotic contest to kick start the show and went at a fairly hectic pace throughout, but the match ended thanks to a controversial assist from The Miz. He helped out his team by distracting Burke when he was about to go for the Elijah Express on Ziggler. Miz jumped up on the apron, catching Burke’s attention who immediately ran at him. Miz jumped back down before Burke could knock him down, allowing Ziggler the chance to recover and step out of the corner.

He wasted no time at all in connecting with a sneaky Zig Zag to pick up the win for The Miz’s ‘Awesome’ team, much to the delight of the man himself. He gloated with his team as Ziggler snuck out to join them on the floor and back up the ramp, all with their arms raised as the rest of Team Michaels hit the ring, staring back full of frustration with “I Came to Play” blasting out to a ton of heat, giving Team Miz some much needed momentum going in to Survivor Series Sunday night.

Winners: Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler & Heath Slater by pinfall.

*Commercial Break*

Standing in the halls of the arena in what appears to be a serious conversation, we see Ted DiBiase with his rookie, Ezekiel Jackson and girlfriend, Maryse. All three are dressed in their normal clothes with DiBiase looking very serious indeed.

Ted DiBiase:
Look we all know Bischoff will do whatever he can to make sure I lose at Survivor Series. I’m sure he thinks all The Undertaker has t’ do is turn and he’ll embarrass me in our match. Well he’s wrong, but I know I can rely on you to help me show him he’s wrong an’ beat The. . .

DiBiase looks up and isn’t happy as we see Raw’s Head of Authority, Eric Bischoff walk towards them smiling.

Eric Bischoff:
Hey there Ted. I’ve gotta say I’m glad you’re feeling confident about your chances, but I couldn’t help hear what you said an’ you’ve got me all wrong. Now I’m not gonna say I’m your number one fan an’ I’ve f’gotten what you did t’ me but that’s all in the past. What this is all about is giving you the challenge you wan’ed. I might not like it but the fact is you’ve made a name f’ yourself an’ those people out there wanna see you face The Undertaker, maybe it’s f’ the reasons you said you feel I wanna see but it’s not. You might well turn out t’ be the star you think you are, an’ if you are that’s good f’ me an’ f’ Raw. That’s why I made this match. There may be a small bit of me hoping t’ see you get your ass kicked, but if you win, so do I. I’ll have that next John Cena on my hands you talked about. You beat Taker Sunday an’ you’re well on your way t’ becoming the huge star you think you can be. An’ hey, if you wanna know how you can do that, look no further than this guy right here. He made Taker work f’ his win last week an’ I’ve gotta say big man I was impressed. You did a good job an’ you’ve given y’self a great chance of getting a contract here.

Ted DiBiase: We know how he did last week but this is about me Bischoff.

Eric Bischoff: Okay okay. All I’m saying is you could do t’ learn a thing or two from what he did last week ‘cause if you think that beating The Undertaker is going t’ be anything like straight forward, you’re setting y’self up f’ a whole world of trouble. But hey, like I said, if you do manage t’ beat ‘im, I’ll be impressed and I sure as hell won’t stand in the way of you becoming that headline star you wanna be.

Bischoff smiles at Ted, confusing him as to whether he’s serious, leaving DiBiase & Co something to think about as Bischoff turns round and takes his leave.

*Cut to the Arena*

*Match #2*
Homicide w/JTG
vs. Zack Ryder

Homicide & Ryder put on an exciting but fairly short contest with Homicide in particular looking impressive, extremely fired up. He was up and at Ryder from the get go, and despite the Long Island Loudmouth coming back with a strong comeback it was the Brooklyn native who came out on top. After ducking the Rough Ryder, he ran the ropes and took his opponent’s head off with the West Brooklyn Lariat to a big pop. Ryder was all over the place as he picked himself back up, turning right in to the Bronx Bomber, a sit-out scoop slam piledriver.

His head was driven in to the canvas by Homicide and the rookie picked up the victory to boost his chances of earning a permanent place on the Raw roster, much to the satisfaction of his mentor, JTG. He joined his rookie in the ring and raised his arm in victory with Homicide not showing that much emotion, just looking down at Ryder who lifted his head up off the mat not knowing too much about where he was.

Winner: Homicide by pinfall.

From Smackdown (Last Friday)

Non-Title Match
Winner Joins Team Smackdown for the Survivor Series
Santino Marella
vs. Johnny Jeter w/Yoshi Tatsu

M.V.P. & Killings came out to watch as Santino & Jeter battled it out in what was a very aggressive contest with the last place on Team Smackdown at stake. . .Jeter sat up to a chorus of boos and then looked round, still angry and then yelled at Yoshi on the outside, pointing towards the timekeeper’s table, shouting at him to get the belt.

*Cut to the Arena*

“It’s a shame that they lost their heads. . .”

Leading out Team Raw to the arena is the Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus. In his ring gear with a smug smile on his face, the captain of the Raw team heads down the ramp with Cody Rhodes & Joe Hennig behind looking very proud & cocky indeed while John Morrison & Carlito follow them smiling for the crowd. As they enter the ring, Sheamus collects the microphone from Lilian Garcia and his music is cut.

Sheamus:
It’s not very often y’get Raw an’ Smackdown guys in de same ring an’ in competition, but Sund’y night at Survivor Series we’ve got de battle of de brands. an’ it’s gonna be a war let me tell ya. It’s a war we’re ready for, an’ unlike our opponents, we ain’t runnin’ scared. Last week dey wouldn’t let us in de buildin’ but we invited ‘em here t’night. T’ tell de truth, I invited ‘em f’ a match, f’ t’ere team captain M-V-P t’ face me t’ show ‘em what we’re gonna do to ‘em Sund’y, an’ dat’s not just beat ‘em but destroy dem.

*Mixed*

Sheamus: An’ just so y’know, M-V-P accepted my offer an’ he an’ de rest of Team Smackdown are back t’ere, so all dat’s left t’ be said fellas is get y’selves down here an’ I’ll show y’what you’ve got comin’ t’ y’at Survivor Series. . . a crushing defeat.

“I’m comin’, no one can stop me, no one can hold me. . .”

A decent pop meets M.V.P. as he paces out to the stage to soak up the reception from the crowd with Ron Killings, Paul London, Brian Kendrick & Santino Marella, the rest of Team Smackdown following him out to the stage. They look like they mean business tonight as they follow their captain down to the ring with everyone bar Sheamus leaving the ring with The Celtic Warrior getting ready for action.

*Match #3*
Sheamus w/John Morrison, Carlito, Cody Rhodes & Joe Hennig
vs. M.V.P. w/Ron Killings, Paul London, Brian Kendrick & Santino Marella

Both men were up for this one and had their teams encouraging them vociferously at ringside, and M.V.P. gave Sheamus one hell of a fight, something he’s not had very often in his career to date. The Celtic Warrior looked rattled at times, no more so than when he missed a Brogue Kick and quickly found himself on the wrong end of a snap overhead belly to belly suplex. M.V.P. wasn’t done there and came close to securing the win after a split-leg moonsault, the MV-Moonsault. The tough Irishman got his shoulder up and survived an onslaught from his Smackdown counterpart, and despite failing to hit the Celtic Cross when M.V.P. slid down to safety, moments later he shoved him in to the ropes as M.V.P. tried to hit the Playmaker.

As the Smackdown team captain came running back, the Intercontinental Champion connected with the deadly Brogue Kick, much to the delight of Cody & Hennig in particular on the outside. M.V.P. was out for the count and Sheamus kept his winning streak going, and he made sure Team Smackdown knew about it as he lifted his Intercontinental title up in the air right in front of them, pissing Ron Killings off more than anyone else. As the rest of team Raw joined their captain in the ring, the extremely pissed off Killings went to get a microphone.

Winner: Sheamus by pinfall.

Ron Killings: Hey, Sheamus. I wouldn’t get too excited jus’ yet if I were you. You ain’t won anythin’ yet, an’ let me tell y’somethin’ punk, we ain’t runnin’ scared o’ you or anybody. We’re ready f’ each an’ ev’ry one o’ ya. Y’wanna talk ‘bout y’asses bein’ sent steppin’ Friday, well take this as a special invitation t’ bring ‘em this week an’ we’ll show we’re ready t’ kick all o’ y’asses Sund’y, an’ that’s the truth fella.

Smirking, not threatened by Killings one bit, Sheamus walks over to the apron and asks for a microphone, getting one and walking right over to the ropes in front of Killings, looking right down at him with Killings glaring back at him.

Sheamus:
Don’t kid y’self fella, t’night ain’t gonna be any diff’rent t’ Sund’y. As f’ that generous offer, we accept. We’ll see y’Friday but remember dis. . . you’ve not got a chance in hell o’beatin’ us at Survivor Series, an’ dat fella, dat’s de truth.

“Written in Your Face” plays to a mixed reception as Sheamus looks down confidently at the angry Killings and the rest of Team Smackdown, all very unimpressed with the undefeated Irishman.

Number One Contenders Match for the WWE Women’s Championship
Gail Kim w/Shantelle Taylor
vs. Mia Rain

Melina came out to watch the two divas battle it out for the right to face her from the stage, and she saw both Gail & Rain give it their all. . . Again Rain kicked out and they made their way back up to their feet, battling it out back & forth right to the very end where Gail was on the edge of victory, almost locking in the Flying Dragon, a tilt-a-whirl headscissors armbar. Rain managed to pull her arm free at the last second, surprising everyone. She raced up on to her feet with Kim right behind her and tried to take her down with a neck-breaker. Gail though pulled back and rolled Rain up with Rain kicking out.

They both raced up to their feet and Gail ran back off the ropes, coming back looking for a bulldog but Rain threw her off and down to the mat. Gail landed on her face but bravely dragged herself back up, but Rain was focused big time and was right on her, helping her up and in to place for Acid Rain, a bridging straightjacket electric chair drop, and she hit it, sending Gail crashing in to the canvas. Gail was out of it with Shantelle looking on dejectedly as Rain coolly hooked her leg and made the cover, getting the win and earning herself a shot at Melina’s women’s title in two weeks.

Melina herself looked somewhat impressed as Rain stood up and got her arm raised, staring right up at Melina. The Women’s Champion was then in for a shook as Queen Kong emerged behind her and hammered her down to the floor. Rain was stunned and could only look on in shock as the behemoth made her way menacingly down the ramp with Taylor turning round and panicking. Kong wasted no time and effortlessly shoved her down to the floor before climbing on to the apron and entering the ring.

Gail was sitting up while Rain began to panic, then made a wise choice in high tailing it before Kong could get her hands on her. The fans booed as Rain jumped down to the floor with Kong’s scary eyes locked on her until they then turned in a flash to Kim who was rapidly dragged up to her feet before being on the received end of a sit-out powerbomb. Rain watched the intense Kong slowly standing up and staring right at her with Melina getting back up on the stage also looking on in awe of the behemoth while JR & King speculated as to whether anyone could stop her.

*Cut to the Arena*

*Match #4*
Melina, Gail Kim & Shantelle Taylor
vs. Mia Rain & The Bella Twins

With Melina defending her women’s title against Mia Rain, they were both looking to one up for the other, and Rain clearly meant business. After a strong start from Melina’s team, the challenger and the Bellas came back fighting and were on top for the most part when they & Rain in particular isolated Shantelle. Gail’s rookie was in trouble but when it looked like Rain had her on the edge, she caught her by surprise, slipping to safety and away from the Rain Drop. Rain was stunned and missed with a wild clothesline but did manage to reverse an irish whip, but as Taylor came back off the ropes she countered an attempt from a backbreaker with tilt-a-whirl headscissors. Both divas made their way back up in a hurry and Taylor came close to the upset with a bridging german suplex.

However as the match drew to a close, it was Melina who was on top of Rain, but having come close on a couple of occasions, Rain stole the win after reacting quickly to roll away from an incoming leg drop bulldog and roll Melina up while placing her feet on the ropes for extra leverage to get the not so cleanest of victories. Melina sat up in shock and knew something was up with Rain and the Bellas smirking back at them. As they turned round and got their arms raised, the victors’ faces turned to a look of horror as we saw Queen Kong pull Taylor off the apron and send her crashing in to the steel steps. The menacing behemoth slid in to the ring and blocked a right from Gail before knocking her down with a headbutt.

Melina stood up and looked stunned, as did the Bellas & Rain, but as the Bellas fled to safety, Rain shoved Melina right in to Kong’s path, colliding in to the side of the monster. Rain then got out of the way as the intense newcomer glared scarily at the worried Women’s Champion. Melina knew she was in danger and was grabbed around the throat with two hands before being sent crashing down in to the canvas. Rain looked on with a big smile on her face, but not for long as Kong turned her head and stared right at her, unnerving the number one contender a great deal with the wreckage in & out of the ring.

Winners: Mia Rain & The Bella Twins by pinfall.

Todd Grisham is standing by backstage at the interview set.

Todd Grisham:
Ladies an’ gentleman please welcome my guests at this time, The Big Show an’ his rookie Justin Gabriel.

The camera zooms out and there stands the menacing sight of The Big Show alongside his rookie, Justin Gabriel (both dressed casually), and he like his mentor is in a very serious mood tonight by the looks of things.

Todd Grisham:
Show, I have t’ say that last week I saw a side of you I don’t think I’ve seen before. It looked for a moment that you really were going t’ chokeslam Mister McMahon off the stage, an’ that was after you chokeslammed J-B-L on to the steel steps. We then heard after the show on W-W-E dot com that J-B-L had been taken to a local medical facility an’ he was in real danger of not being able t’ compete at Survivor Series in your Hell in a Cell match that will see the loser leave the W-W-E f’ever. We’ve since learnt that Vince will be making a statement here t’night regarding J-B-L’s condition. . .

The Big Show: . . . Todd let me stop y’there. I know. . . we all know what they’re like, what they’re capable of. They showed that two weeks ago when they set me an’ the kid up. When it comes t’ the McMahon’s, seein’ is believin’, an’ I don’t believe a word they say. . . Vince can say whatever he wants t’night but I’ll drag J-B-L inside that cell myself if I have to after what they did t’ me an’ Justin. . .

Todd Grisham: . . . But Show, what if the rumours actually are true an’ J-B-L can’t compete at Survivor Series?

The Big Show: I just told you Todd. I’ll drag him in there myself. I don’t regret what I did to ‘im last week, just like I’m sure they don’t regret what they did to us. What I do regret is not sending Vince to the hospital with ‘im. That can all change if Vince wants t’ try pullin’ a fast one, but whatever happens after t’night, they’ll both be leavin’ Raw f’ good. I’ll make sure of it.

Big Show stares right down the camera, making the world know he means every word.

*Cut to the Arena*

“Rest in Peace”

A huge pop breaks out inside the arena with the lights out, smoke blowing across the stage and The Undertaker emerges through it to another huge roar from the capacity crowd. Slowly he walks down to the ring and enters to a massive cheer with the lights coming back on. He makes his way over to his corner and takes off his jacket & hat, handing them over the ropes before preparing himself for action.

“Priceless, baby I’m priceless. . .”

Ted DiBiase purposefully walks out to the stage with a microphone to a ton of heat with Ezekiel Jackson & Maryse either side of him, all looking down at The Undertaker, clearly unhappy at their presence. The music stops and DiBiase looks in to the crowd with disgust, as does Maryse as they continue to boo.

Ted DiBiase:
I’m sorry to disappoint you all but I regret to inform you that this match The Undertaker is about to compete in, it isn’t going t’ happen.

*Major Heat*

Ted DiBiase: I’m sorry that you won’t get t’ see your beloved Undertaker in action, however you won’t have t’ wait all that long as in just six short nights he will step inside this ring with me, and I will prove to each and ev’ryone of you. and Eric Bischoff that I am the future of this show when I defeat The Undertaker.

*More Boos*

Ted DiBiase: I realise that you don’t want to believe that, and I’m sure you’re all so confident that I will fall short at Survivor Series, so I thought I’d come out here t’night to show you how wrong you are. I came out here t’ show you that you’re wrong t’ doubt me, so dead man, get ready, because you’re about to witness your own fate come Sunday.

DiBiase drops the microphone and very calmly walks down the ramp with his eyes firmly fixed on The Undertaker with Jackson & Maryse following behind him. Taker backs up and gets ready for him as DiBiase gets closer to the ring and showing no fear makes his way up the steps and on to the apron. He then instructs the rookie to join him and Jackson, eyes also locked on Taker, joins him on the apron and they enter the ring calmly at the same time. DiBiase rolls his sleeves up and stares over at the phenom who stares back as DiBiase turns to Jackson, nodding his head and they charge together at The Dead-Man, pummelling him with a series of vicious body & head shots to the crowd.

Taker fights back though to a big pop, shoving DiBiase away and down to the mat, then hammers Jackson with a couple of rights, getting the crowd going even more before knocking him down with a hard right to the head. DiBiase gets right back up and runs in to a another shot, and as Jackson picks himself up, Taker fires him in to the ropes and drives his boot down the rookie’s throat to a loud cheer inside the 1st Mariner Arena. Ted is panicking as he claws his way up to his feet with Taker grabbing him by the throat for a chokeslam. It’s deafening as the crowd rise to their feet, but Maryse scurries in to the ring under the bottom rope. She takes off one of her shoes with a killer heel on it as she stands up.

Taker sees her coming at him with the show and grabs her by the throat too with the crowd loving it. DiBiase though fights back and kicks him in the gut, freeing himself from The Dead-Man’s grasp to bend down and pick up the show dropped by Maryse then nails Taker with it, putting the phenom down to a ton of heat. Jackson stands up with the focused Ted standing over his rival without a shred of remorse as he drops the shoe. He turns to his rookie and gives him some instructions. The mean looking Jackson does as he’s told and drags Taker up from his knees with the crowd booing, completely helpless as Jackson plants him with the Book of Ezekiel (urinage).

DiBiase doesn’t look satisfied or if he’s done at all as he sees Taker squirming, trying to get on to his side, which he does. DiBiase holds his arms out and keeps his rookie & girlfriend at a distance as he stalks his prey with the crowd booing and trying to warn their hero, but as Taker stands up, DiBiase grabs him from behind and wastes no time in sending him back down again courtesy of Dream Street. The boos keep coming from the crowd as Ted coolly stands back up with a smug smirk on his face with Maryse laughing.

They all look down at Taker who lies there motionless, all very proud of themselves, but Taker suddenly sits up to a huge pop, catching them all well & truly off guard. Ted’s furious and so is The Dead-Man as he turns his head and glares up at his shocked rival. DiBiase though watches him all the way up to slip behind him and send him down in to the mat again with another trip to Dream Street. DiBiase shimmies round on the mat and sticks his head by Taker’s, staring right at him, seemingly waiting for a response, but he doesn’t get one and starts smirking.

He stands back up to a ton of heat with no sign of life in The Dead-Man. He slaps Jackson on the shoulder and tells him it’s time to hit the road, and together with Maryse they walk over to the apron and leave the ring, heading back up the ramp. They turn round with Ted & Maryse, smirking like crazy with the always serious Jackson not showing any emotion at all, but again Taker sits up, albeit slowly as he turns his head and glares right up at Ted to a big pop. They exchange serious meaningful looks as “Priceless” plays with their Survivor Series clash a matter of days away.

*Commercial Break*

*Match #5*
Matt Hardy w/Gregory Helms & Shannon Moore
vs. Mystico w/Rey Mysterio
vs. Kaval w/Christopher Daniels

All of three teams competing for the vacant tag team titles at Survivor Series were out to impress and were represented in this highly entertaining triple threat match. With partners also at ringside watching closely, the crowd were in to the action too. They all looked to send a message to the other, and all came close to the win at some point. It looked like Matt had it in the bag when he had Kaval in place for the Twist of Fate only for Mystico to hit a springboard bulldog on him from behind.

Matt kicked out of that one, but as Mystico made his way back up with Kaval doing the same, he decided to turn back and hit the ropes. Kaval though reacted quickly with the Matrix and ran in to the ropes, spring-boarding for a roundhouse kick, hitting the Tidal Wave. Hardy though broke up the count at two, diving across and on top of Kaval to the anger of Daniels on the outside. As the contest went on, no one could call it but when Mystico went for El Pendulo (619) on Matt, Hardy pulled his head back.

Before Mystico could steady himself on the apron, Kaval ran at him and jumped over Hardy who rolled to the side as Kaval sent the Mexican off the apron with a diving double foot stomp. As Kaval though stood up and turned round, Matt was back up and kicked him in the gut before planting him with the Twist of Fate to a big pop, earning the victory heading in to Survivor Series when the tag titles will be at stake. Helms & Moore wasted no time in getting in the ring to congratulate him, Team Omega standing tall with Rey checking on his rookie & team-mate while Daniels again looked on angrily on the outside.

Winner: Matt Hardy by pinfall.

*Commercial Break*

Victorious and looking very happy indeed, Matt Hardy with the other two members of Team Omega (Gregory Helms & Shannon Moore) walks back from the ring and towards the interview set where Todd Grisham is oh so conveniently standing. He turns round and sees them coming, walking right towards them.

Todd Grisham:
Matt, congratulations on the vict’ry t’night. How much confidence does that give you going in t’ Sunday an’ the triple threat match for the vacant World Tag Team titles?

Matt Hardy: We were confident already Todd but right now I feel great. I already knew we had a great chance of walkin’ outta Survivor Series the new World Tag Team Champions, an’ after that I know we can do it an’ I’m sure we will.

All of a sudden, Rey Mysterio and a sweating Mystico in to the shot, catching Matt, Helms & Moore by surprise.

Rey Mysterio:
Hey Matt, congratulations.

Rey holds his hand out to Matt and Mystico does the same to Helms, all men shaking hands, all very respectfully.

Rey Mysterio:
We’ll see y’Sunday man.

Rey & Mystico walk off in to the night, but as they do Christopher Daniels & Kaval run in from behind and attack Matt & Helms, then Moore, pummelling them with right hands. The commotion brings the due back to the scene, pulling Matt & Co away along with some officials who come to help them.

Rey Mysterio:
HEY BREAK IT UP.

Christopher Daniels: THE TITLES ARE OURS AN’ WE’RE GONNA MAKE THEM OURS. NEITHER OF YOU ARE GONNA STOP US. MARK MY WORDS. WE’LL MAKE SURE JUSTICE IS DONE.

Reluctantly and under instruction from the officials, they back away with their eyes firmly locked on their rivals for the tag team titles come Sunday.

*Cut to the Arena*

“No chance, that’s what you’ve got. . .”

A barrage of boos meet the incredibly angry sight of Mr. McMahon as he walks out to the stage with a face like thunder. He stops & stares in to the crowd, full of contempt for them as he now heads down to the ring, still having boos thrown at him which only make his mood worse. The head of The Corporation stomps his way up the steps and in to the ring, walks over to the apron and demands a microphone, getting one passed to him through the ropes. The music cuts and he walks in to the centre of the ring, still livid as he stares in to the stands, trying to compose himself before starting to speak.

Vince McMahon:
Now you people don’t need me t’ tell you what happened here last week so I’m just going t’ say what it is I came here t’ say an’ get out of here before The Big Show tries to incapacitate me like he has both my sons.

*Pop*

Vince McMahon: You think’s that funny huh?

“YEAH”

Vince McMahon: YOU PEOPLE THINK IT’S FUNNY THAT HE’S PUT MY BOTH SONS IN A HOSPITAL BED? YOU THINK IT’S FUNNY THAT I, VINCENT KENNEDY MCMAHON, THE MAN WHO GAVE YOU THIS SHOW, THIS PRODUCT HAS HAD HIS CHILDREN INCAPACITATED AN’ EMBARRASSED BY SOMEONE WHOSE PAY-CHEQUE I SIGN? THAT YOU PEOPLE FIND FUNNY?

*More Cheers*

Vince McMahon: Well I’m sure you people will be happy t’ learn that after the despicable actions of The Big Show, my son J-B-L will be unable to compete this Sunday at Survivor Series.

*Major Heat*

Vince McMahon: Well it appears you bloodthirsty ingrates aren’t that happy about that. Now we have something in common. See just like my son I was looking forward t’ seeing Big Show’s career ended inside hell in a cell, however that now won’t happen, all because that out of control animal made sure that wouldn’t happen. He knew full well John would beat him at Survivor Series so he made sure that match wouldn’t happen so he could keep his job. Ironically it’ll be me still paying him each his month, only Show I came here t’night for another reason, to announce that I’ll be pursuing legal action against you f’ what you’ve done t’ both John and Shane.

*Heat*

Vince McMahon: You’re not going t’ get away with this Show, I want you t’ know that. Eric Bischoff may well let you do whatever the hell you want around here but I won. . .

“WELLL-L, WELL IT’S THE BIG SHOW. . .”

A rapturous reception meets The Big Show & Justin Gabriel as they stroll out to the stage, both stopping & looking down at Vince, and he is furious to see them standing there. They now walk down the ramp, not taking their eyes off of him for a second, and Vince the same, watching them enter the ring with Show picking a microphone up off the apron. You could cut the tension with a knife as Show & Gabriel coolly walk towards him with the music cutting and the fans cheering like mad.

Vince McMahon:
Don’t you dare put your hands on me Show. It’ll be the last thing you do I promise you.

The Big Show: Vince, cut the crap.

*Pop*

The Big Show: You’re not gonna press charges against me, just like J-B-L’s not really incapacitated as you put it. I know how your head works Vince. Let me ask you a question, do you remember what you both did only a couple of weeks ago? Don’t worry I’ll tell you just so you see what a hypocritical son of a bitch you really are. You made me think my wife had been involved in an accident, an’ when I left the building in which you made out you weren’t in, both you an’ J-B-L jumped Justin here in the parking lot like a bunch of cowards.

*Major Heat*

Show is pissed, glaring menacingly right at Vince.

The Big Show:
You’re a hypocrite Vince. You always have been an’ you always will be, but what I’m wondering is what you’re up to t’night, just what you’ve got up your sleeve. . .

Vince McMahon: . . . I’VE GOT NOTHING UP MY SLEEVE. YOU HEARD WHAT I SAID, JOHN’S INJURED. IT’S THAT SIMP . .

The Big Show: . . . I’m not buying it Vince. I don’t care if he’s not a hundred percent, the match is happening.

*Pop*

The Big Show: I’ll drag him in t’ that cell if I have to, and when I do Vince, I’ll end his career once an’ f’ all.

*Huge Pop*

The Big Show: I’ll make sure we don’t have t’ see him ever again, just like I did with Shane, an’ Vince there won’t be a reason f’ you t’ be here anymore.

Vince McMahon: I don’t think you’ve understood what I’m saying Show, not that I’m surprised, but let me make this crystal clear for you one more time just so you get the message. . . John’s hurt and he won’t be competing at Survivor Series.

*Heat*

The Big Show: Let me make myself clear Vince, I don’t believe a world you say.

Vince McMahon: Well if that’s what you want t’ believe, fine, but you’re going t’ be very disappointed. However you’ll only have yourself t’ blame when you discover I’m telling the truth as the only person you have to blame is you f’ what you did last week. What I will say though is this. Once he’s recovered he’ll be coming after you and then he will end your career.

“Longhorn”

To the shock of Mr. McMahon, John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield hobbles out from the back on to the stage to a ton of heat. Show & Gabriel turn & look up at him, both pissed by his presence. He has a microphone in hand and he simply gazes down at them as his music comes to a halt.

John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield:
Dad, I appreciate you’re trying t’ look out for me, but regardless of the condition I’m in right now, I’ll be at Survivor Series Show an’ in that cell.

*Big Pop*

Show stares up at him, emotionless.

Vince McMahon:
Son, wait. . .

John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield: . . . Listen t’ me dad. I might not be anywhere near a hundred percent now or even by Sunday but I’m sure as hell not backing out. Nothing’ll stop me getting in that cell with you Show after what you’ve put me an’ my family through. You’re going t’ regret not finishing the job last week. It’ll be something you’ll rgeret f’ a long long time, because if you had I wouldn’t be in the position to end you career like I will six nights from now.

*Heat*

John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield: I’m a man of my word Show, you know that. When I set my mind on something, I do it. I’m going to ensure I get retribution f’ both me and my family by banishing you from the W-W-E, our company forever.

*Ton of Heat*

John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield: You may be the largest athlete in the world but that won’t be enough t’ stop me ending a career that should’ve been nothing short of dominant. You know more than anyone that with the sheer advantage you have at your disposal you should’ve dominated this business for years, decades even, however that hasn’t happened. I wouldn’t even know you’d been a W-W-E Champion had I not heard someone mention it earlier on. Your title reigns an’ your whole existence here has been completely an’ totally forgettable.

*More Boos*

John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield: You turned your back on the chance of being the biggest most dominant superstar in the hist’ry of this whole industry just t’ satisfy these people. You don’t need me t’ tell you Show that these people an’ their appreciation don’t win you championships or success. On the other hand, I’m nowhere near being the largest athlete in the world however I have accomplished things you’ve never even come close to. I was the W-W-E Champion f’ a year. I am a wrestling god, a true American he-ro. You Show, you lost your fire along the way. This Sunday you’re going t’ lose more than your fire. You’re going t’ lose your livelihood.

The Big Show: You paint quite the picture John. We might disagree on what’s gonna happen at Survivor Series but right now I’m just gonna say I’m happy I’ve just got the chance t’ kick your ass all over that cell.

*Big Pop*

The Big Show: I’m happy I’ve got the chance John to end your career an’ send you packin’ t’ give all these people, an’ me what we all want. . . a McMahon free W-W-E.

*Massive Cheer*

The Big Show: Right now though there’s just one thing that has t’ be said. . .

Show drops the microphone and grabs Vince by the throat to a huge pop, looking right up at J.B.L. who panics big time and limps forward.

John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield:
Let him go. You do that an’ I swear you’ll regret it.

Show doesn’t blink and lifts Vince up off his feet, then chokeslams him in to the canvas to another massive roar with the incensed J.B.L. watching on helplessly on the ramp.

John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield:
I swear t’ god I’m gonna make you pay f’ that. Ending your career won’t be enough but mark my words I’ll do whatever I have to t’ do it, an’ it’ll give me more satisfaction than ev’rything I’ve ever accomplished my entire life.

Show turns round and bends down to pick the microphone back up but Gabriel gets it for him and hands it over to his mentor.

The Big Show:
Yeah well, I guess we’ll see about that.

Show drops the microphone and kicks Vince under the apron down to the floor.

The Big Show:
See y’Sunday, an’ y’might wanna check he’s okay.

“Crank It Up” plays to a big pop with the furious J.B.L. limping down the ramp shaking his head in disgust at Show who just stands there remorselessly with Gabriel, who too shows no sympathy for Vince as J.B.L. gets to his father and checks on him. Vince isn’t moving and his son lifts his head up mouthing threats to Show, not intimidated in the slightest as he stares back with the cell looming large above them.

*Commercial Break*

The main event is up next and we’re shown a shot of the focused looking mentor & rookie duo of Randy Orton & Darren Young walking through the back, then cutting to a split screen of the also focused Triple H and WWE Champion, Batista as they too make their way through the halls of the 1st Mariner Arena.

>This Sunday!<

Jim Ross:
Well folks, we’re now just days away from the Survivor Series, an’ there’s a whole lot we’ve got t’ look forward to. . .

Jim Ross: . . . No more so than this one King. As we just saw before the break, there’s a whole lot at stake when The Big Show meets J-B-L inside hell in a cell where the loser will leave the W-W-E f’ good.

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler: If this wasn’t personal already J-R, it sure is now after that chokeslam t’ Mister McMahon. It sure won’t be pretty but I can’t wait t’ see it.

Jim Ross: That’s an understatement. I just wonder on what condition J-B-L is in. If he’s going t’ beat the world’s largest athlete inside satan’s structure he’ll have t’ be nothing short of a hundred percent, an’ King I don’t believe that’s the case.

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler: There’s a not lot you can do about that J-R. All we can do is sit back an’ wait.

Jim Ross: Well I don’t know about you King but it wouldn’t be the Survivor Series without the traditional elimination matches, an’ this is just one of three we’ll see Sunday night when The Miz has the chance t’ back up that big mouth of his against Team H-B-K.

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler: I f’ one am sick of hearing The Miz opening that big mouth of his but you have to admit he an’ his team got the job done t’night. Who’s t’ say they can’t do it again at Survivor Series? It won’t be easy, but the thing about these matches J-R is they’re as unpredictable as you can get.

Jim Ross: That remains t’ be seen an’ it’ll be a tough ask, but I’m looking forward t’ this one King when Raw an’ Smackdown collide in the battle of the brands. There’s no ego involved here, just pride.

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler: We’ve seen how much this match means t’ both teams over the last few weeks, but after what we saw earlier on, I have complete confidence in Sheamus leading Team Raw t’ victory.

Jim Ross: I’m with you King but one man who’ll be looking t’ lead his team t’ victory will be John Cena with a shot at the world heavyweight title waiting for him if t’gether with his team, he defeats Team Punk.

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler: Oh it might be a Smackdown match J-R but I can’t wait t’ see this one. Team Punk are hell bent on making sure Cena doesn’t get that title shot they’ll do anything t’ stop ‘im. That’s going t’ be one incredible match that’s f’ sure.

Jim Ross: Well back to the Raw side of things King and we’re finally going t’ crown new world tag team champions when these three teams battle it out in the final of the eight team tournament.

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler: Y’know I can’t help but agree with what Daniels an’ Kaval say J-R about how they earned their place in the final but I think we’re in f’ a cracker-jacker when all these guys get it on.

Jim Ross: I agree. Now there might not be a title at stake here King but the future of Ted DiBiase may well be when he walks through the gates of hell t’ take on the legend that is The Undertaker.

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler: I f’ one hope t’ god this punk gets what’s coming to ‘im, an’ after what he did to The Undertaker earlier, he just might. One thing you can count on J-R is that monster Ezekiel Jackson won’t be too far away.

Jim Ross: That may well be the case, but it all boils down t’ this, the W-W-E title when Batista puts his title on the line against two men he knows probably better than anyone. . . his former Evolution team mates, Randy Orton an’ Triple H in a triple threat match for the W-W-E Championship.

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler: Oh this is going t’ be incredible J-R. This match has been over five years in the making an’ you can f’get about all the problems they’ve had as of late, it all comes down t’ one thing, the W-W-E Championship. Only one of them can walk out of Survivor Series as the W-W-E Champion an’ we don’t have t’ wait that long t’ find out who that’s gonna be.

Jim Ross: Not long at all. Survivor Series is live this Sunday, only on pay-per-view. Don’t miss it folks whatever y’do. It’s going t’ be one hell of a show.

*Cut to the Arena*

*The Main Event*
Batista & Triple H
vs. Randy Orton & Darren Young

It came as no surprise that there was plenty of tension between Batista & Triple H, and Orton & Young took full advantage in the early going when The Game refused to be tagged in. It gave Orton the initiative, but Orton made the mistake of angering Triple H, nailing him with a cheap shot and sending him down to the floor. The next chance he got, The Game tagged Batista and went after The Legend Killer, met with a mixed reception from the Baltimore crowd. As we drew to a close, Batista & Triple H were on top, dominating Young, giving Orton a lot to think about.

The Animal made a blind tag, infuriating Triple H who got right in Batista’s face, and Orton took a chance, sneaking up behind The Game, spinning him round and planting him with the RKO, again to a mixed reception. Batista then went after Orton, reversing an irish whip and taking him with a diving shoulder tackle. The crowd were loving it, and as Orton picked himself back up, Batista was getting ready to explode, and then tore him in half with a spear. The crowd loved it as Orton was sent tumbling off the apron and down to the floor. Young was next in line, in serious danger as were his chances of getting a contract.

Batista was on his game though and after taking a couple of shots, he reversed an irish whip and sent him crashing in to the canvas courtesy of a spinebuster to another massive roar inside the 1st Mariner Arena. The thumbs were up and then down with the fans on their feet as the WWE Champion dragged the almost motionless Young up to his knees and in to place for the Batista Bomb. It was deafening and Young was helpless, unable to escape and was lifted high up above The Animal’s head before being slammed ferociously in to the mat.

The pumped-up Batista wasted no time in shifting forward to make the cover and pick up the win, a huge one ahead of his WWE Championship defence against Orton & The Game at Survivor Series. He got his arm raised to a huge pop with “In the End” playing, and he left the ring after posing with the title by the apron before turning back on the ramp to lift it up in to the air again. Both Orton & The Game were coming round and staring up at him, not happy at all as The Animal stared right back with his title raised defiantly, ready for war Sunday night as Raw came to a close.

Winners: Batista & Triple H by pinfall.

Great RAW episode really and I can't wait until Smackdown, and I can't wait until Survivor Series either, your build-up to Survivor Series so far has been stellar and then after that is Night of Champions in December and then the 2009 Royal Rumble in January, can't wait

>Divas Battle is On!<

Next Monday night live on Raw, 24 hours after the Survivor Series, Melina will defend her Women’s Championship against Mia Rain, and judging by last night’s events it may well be a tough evening for the Women’s Champion.

The two divas met a week before their title clash in six diva tag team action where Rain came out on top alongside the Bella twins, Brie & Nikki to beat Melina, Gail Kim & Kim’s rookie, Shantelle Taylor. It was Rain who scored the win too when she rolled up her rival and used the ropes as leverage, picking up a morale boosting victory as she prepares to meet Melina when the title will be at stake in a week’s time.

However Melina’s night went from bad to worse as the monster that is Queen Kong stormed the ring, and after taking Taylor & Kim out of the equation, she set her sights on the Women’s Champion. Rain shoved her right in to the behemoth’s path, and Kong wasted no time in inflicting another vicious attack on a Raw diva, this time Melina.

Can Melina turn her fortunes around next week when she defends her title against Rain? Will she even be in a condition to be able to? Make sure you tune in to find out in what will be another difficult evening for Melina.

Friday Night Smackdown ‘Live’ Preview
Friday 7th November 2008
Rexall Place
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

We’re now just a matter of days away from the Survivor Series that will come to you live on pay-per-view this Sunday night from the Air Canada Center in Toronto, and tomorrow night marks the final stop before that highly anticipated show when the stars of Smackdown roll in to Canada.

There’ll also be some Raw superstars making their way to Edmonton as we saw on Raw Monday night, Shawn Michaels accept a challenge from The Miz for their respective teams to meet that night before firing back a challenge of his own to Mr. Hollywood for them to collide head on this Friday just 48 hours before their Survivor Series encounter. The Miz was happy to accept the challenge and his team went on to defeat The Heartbreak Kid’s, although The Miz played a big role in their victory. It was a momentum changing win for the ‘awesome’ team, but can The Miz keep that momentum going and in to Survivor Series by beating The Showstopper in a rare situation where Michaels may not be that popular with the locals? There’s only one way to find out and that’s to make sure you tune in tomorrow night.

We’re also going to see the stars of Raw & Smackdown compete against each other in the Battle of the Brands this weekend, and Monday night on Raw we got s sneak preview when the two team captains met one on one with Sheamus overcoming M.V.P. The Intercontinental Champion wasn’t happy with just the victory at Team Smackdown’s expense and he went on to rub the salt in their wounds, getting a defiant response from Ron Killings. The Truth called on Sheamus and the rest of Team Raw to join Team Smackdown in Edmonton tomorrow night. The Celtic Warrior accepted the invitation on his team’s behalf and who knows what’s going to happen when they turn up tomorrow evening?

We’ve also learned today that Tazz has arranged for John Cena & CM Punk to go face to face in a face-off live tomorrow night as they prepare for their Survivor Series clash where Cena will be fighting for the right to challenge Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions next month. Punk’s not been shy in letting people know how he feels about Cena, and it looks like he’s going to get another chance to tell the world what he thinks of the potential challenger to his coveted world title. Cena will also have the chance to respond to the World Champion, but let’s hope that all hell doesn’t break loose with just two days separating the all important elimination match this Sunday.

While those two face off, their respective teams will get another chance to get their hands on each other when Christian goes up against his fellow Canadian, Chris Jericho in a Lumberjack match with Team Cena & Team Punk surrounding the ring. We might not see Cena & Punk go at it on Smackdown but there’s no doubting that Christian & Jericho will, and with their team-mates ringside, we might well have a free-for-all on our hands.

Two weeks ago J-Red looked on the verge of becoming the new Cruiserweight Champion until Chavo Guerrero, his mentor at the time ensured his rookie didn’t get his hands on the title. Whether it be jealousy or embarrassment, Chavo has had issues with Red for a long time now, and we found out last week that Red will get another chance at Johnny Jeter’s title soon enough. This week however he will be going one on one with Chavo while Jeter will also be in action against Yoshi Tatsu who no longer has to put up with Jeter as his mentor. They’ll be two very intriguing & competitive matches that you won’t want to miss when the ex-mentors & rookies collide tomorrow night.

It appears that things are heating up between The UK Pack & The Empire. After confronting the troubled champions two weeks ago and describing them as poor champions & role models, we certainly got a reaction from Paul Burchill & Harry Smith last week who look to have resolved their problems and have set their sights on proving their fellow Brits wrong. Wade Barrett, Drew McIntyre & William Regal did not look happy at all when the champions got involved in their match with Paul London & Brian Kendrick last Friday night, and this week it’ll be The UK Pack in action when they take on former foes, The Pitbulls in what will surely be a fiercely competitive match up.

Whatever your plans are for tomorrow night, make sure you’re sat in front of your TV and watching Smackdown live from Edmonton in what will be an explosive final stop before Sunday’s Survivor Series!
