RAW Feedback

I felt the opening promo to not be at your usual level, and a little on the short side, but still enjoyable. Bischoff's announcement, I felt came a little too quickly, could've had a little more meat if you get what I'm saying, but the main event battle royal sounds really good. Should be awesome. Again, this wasn't at the high standard you've set for yourself, but it got the message across well.

I felt this match to be a little slow-going. Maybe that's just the way it seemed in my head, but that's what I think. I think maybe Natalya's interference during the match was a bit too simple, and not in the good way. And also, I don't really like Melina using a roundhouse as a finish, her split-legged reverse DDT thing seems more of her thing. Anywho, I felt that the best part of this was at the end of the match, when Natalya laid out Melina with the backbreaker and powerbomb, establishing herself strong for the Triple Threat. This match, though, I wasn't feeling, though.

Strong promo from Orton, makes him sound completely and totally focused on Kennedy and finishing with him. Rey showing up was a bit random, but I see why it was done. Short jokes with Rey are becoming very commonplace, I see. Anyway, their match later on should be fun, don't know who to give it to, though.

Serious Jeff, a little down in the dumps. I like it, gives his character depth in showing how much he really wants to be champion.

After the commentary explanation, I can sort of see the storyline purpose of this match, but I really didn't think it was wise for London to be, well, jobbed out like he was here against Kane. Obviously, Kane's the champ, he's a monster, he needs to look dominant. But you did that at the expense of London, who looked pretty bad here, and didn't to anything for his momentum for his PPV match. Bearer's promo just put over Kane's brutality even more, and at least it didn't hurt London's credibility, but overall, I didn't especially like this.

Nice ending sequence there, really enjoyed that part. The rest of the match just seemed standard, but that's understandable, as this was just a TV showcase, can't give away too much here. Kennedy's promo was very well-written, hyped and made us look forward to their match even more, especially with Kennedy implying that he won't be messing with Orton until Vengeance. I think Orton might want to get the upper hand prior to said match, however, so I'll look out for that. Good stuff here.

I really hope this segment is going somewhere, because it was really odd and somewhat disturbing. Goldust seemed very gay here. I know he's always made puns about stuff like that, but has he ever really openly invited someone into gay acts? And Eugene? Maybe I missed something, but what's he doing here? Hope he doesn't stay long. Didn't really enjoy this.

I liked this Ted interview, a lot of what he said can't be disproven or denied. Always good in a heel. The claims about winning the battle royal later on may be a bit off, as he still isn't ready for such a big push, but I can see him having a strong showing to be put over even more. Ted's a hot prospect in this thread, one to keep an eye on.

This promo with the fashion show deal, well, it was realistic, something the WWE would do. But with that said, most of what WWE would do for the sake of comedy isn't good. So, I'm pretty sure you get what I'm trying to say here. Not a fan of super-gay Goldust, either. Match was the best part of it all, and I found myself on the side of The Colons after what happened beforehand. Goldust looked good, and Morrison did as well, in a heel sense. Overall, though, didn't enjoy this part of the show much.

JBL, playing devil's advocate, this I liked. Evolution has been cracked for awhile now, and it's starting to crumble a bit. Looking forward to that Battle Royale to see the interaction between Hunter and Batista (Flair I feel has been mostly neutral, but on Hunter's side).

The contract signing went very well. Cody proved himself to be such an awesome heel and a dick, throwing insult after insult. I'm a little disappointed that Kofi didn't get too verbal in this, but I suppose talking isn't one of his strong points, so that might've been for the best. I liked Bischoff trying to keep the peace, although Regal didn't really do anything of note except hold the contract. Still, this made me look forward to seeing Cody get his ass kicked, although I'm not sure if Kofi will leave with the belt. A tough one to call, but still, match should be awesome.

So, Cryme Tyme vs. Miz and Morrison for the belts at Vengeance? Sounds like it'll be a good one, although I really hope we don't see anymore of the segments we saw tonight on the way there. I'm also wondering where this leaves The Colons, as I'm sure they're not to happy about being left from the title match. One thing I noted, though, is that at the end when Bischoff says he needs to pick up his phone, you called him The Miz. And I see that Regal's still not too happy with Bischoff, either.

Interesting battle royale. Jeff was the clear choice going into the match, and I'm glad you didn't swerve us either. From the looks of things, Rey might be entering a program with DiBiase, and I got what I was most looking forward to (aside from Jeff winning): more Evolution implosion. Hunter eliminating Batista, which is the opposite of what I was thinking would happen, only helps what JBL said to him earlier, so it's probable that Batista might be the one turning heel. But then again, Hunter betrayed his own "friend", so that's a check on him as well. Who's it going to be? Anyway, good match, wasn't too clustery or confusing, and we got the desired results. Good stuff here.

I'm going to be straight with you, Nige, and say that I was a bit disappointed with this show. Some parts were good, the usual calibur, but a lot of this stuff didn't make me feel like I was reading Nige's work. The tag team stuff with Cryme Tyme, Goldust and Eugene was just bad, and I have to say that things didn't really seem as big as I was hoping. Probably my least favorite show from you. However, there was still quality work here, with the IC Title Contract signing, the main event, the Evolution vs. Corporation & Evolution stuff, saved this show from being mediocre. 7/10 for this one, hope SD!'s better.

It was simply to put Orton over against a strong opponent going in to Vengeance. A win against a jobber wouldn’t mean anything.

I was in two minds about this myself and did line up a jobber at one point instead. I decided to put a stronger opponent in Kane’s way like with Orton, and tried to show London’s fighting spirit. I didn’t do enough of a finish to demonstrate that as well as I would have liked.

The reason behind the finish was that it was just one of those things that came out of nowhere as to avoid Victoria looking too weak going in to Vengeance. Had Melina used another finisher, she would have needed to pull Victoria away from the ropes and set her up for the finisher with no response from Victoria. This way, it was quick and to the point that Victoria couldn’t do anything about it with Natalya’s distraction the main cause for the defeat.

A fashion rofl, I love this. Morrison and Miz come out, the build to this has been great.
I’ve not written enough of these segments, and I do enjoy the outlandish comedy element myself. With Goldust, it’s what he does best I feel. Pushing that as far as I can will hopefully bring out the best of him, and having Eugene alongside helps. I needed another face team for Raw, and that’s why they’ve been paired up together.

I can understand some people not going for this type of comedy, but your different reactions just shows it’s down to own personal taste.

I’m glad that this is catching the attention quite nicely. It’s something that I’ve been building up slowly before pulling the trigger. It’s good to see that I’ve not been too subtle about it.

Thanks for the reviews guys.

New FCW Champion Crowned

Joe Hennig defeated James Reiher this past weekend on “FCW” Saturday night to become the new FCW Heavyweight Champion.

Rumours going around suggest that Reiher is one name on a list of about 15 that will be released in the next two weeks or so. We received rumours of the possible 'release fest' a week or so ago, and we can confirm that there will indeed be a 'bloodbath' very soon, possibly after Vengeance. From what we've been told, the list includes some very shocking names.

Smackdown Preview - Friday 20th June 2008
Live From the Nutter Center
Dayton, Ohio

THE KING IS COMING HOME
Matt Sydal upset the odds this past Sunday night when he emerged victorious in all three of his matches to become the 2008 WWE King of the Ring. The ever popular young star showed just why he is a fan favourite in the WWE by showing tremendous spirit and talent to battle through Santino Marella, Elijah Burke & Shelton Benjamin in order to claim the throne. The final itself with the United States Champion was an incredibly tough battle, but it was Sydal who raised his game that much more and dug deep to emerge victorious, adding to a previous victory in a non title match over The Gold Standard a few weeks back. Benjamin was clearly f...trated at this further loss at the hands of the irrepressible youngster, but there can be no excuses this time.

Don’t miss Smackdown this week as the new King of Friday nights is crowned.

PUNK HOLDS ON TO THE GOLD
Having won the World Heavyweight Championship in high controversy, “The Straight Edge Superstar” CM Punk went head to head with MVP at the King of the Ring with his title up for grabs, but there was to be no controversy this time round. Punk didn’t need the luxury of the Money in the Bank contract here to take his opponent by surprise as he overcame the very man he took the contract and opportunity from at Judgment Day. MVP can have little complaint this time, and once again, Punk is the one with the bragging rights.

What lies in store for the World Heavyweight Champion when he travels to Dayton, Ohio this coming week?

JERICHO IS THE COURAGEOUS ONE. . . APPARENTLY
Chris Jericho’s attack of The Undertaker two weeks ago was described as many things, but ‘courageous’ was not one of them. That’s how the man himself sees it, and that’s what he told the world last week while talking to Josh Matthews. He believes that he saved The Undertaker from embarrassing himself any further by ensuring he was unable to compete and fail in a world title match once again. It seems that Jericho has taken it upon himself to prove what at first was nothing more than an honest opinion.

He sure has made life difficult for himself in the process, but will he continue to question The Undertaker’s future this Friday? With the dead man yet to be seen since the heinous attack two weeks back, Jericho is sure to be in confident mood despite being left to face two men all alone by CM Punk last week. Maybe he will have something to say about the World Champion too this week.

EDGE IS THE BROTHER LAUGHING NOW
The return of Christian sure has seen Edge become more f...trated than ever as of late, but the tide turned last Friday night. When it looked like Edge was about to man up and give his brother what he wanted, Christian fell in to a well laid trap as Edge made out that he couldn’t go to war with his brother and left the ring. After telling Tomko to leave him alone with his brother, Christian soon came to regret his decision as two unknown men came through the crowd and jumped him in the ring with Edge returning to join in the attack on his little brother. Tomko then tried to come to the rescue, but it was too late as Edge and the two assailants left the ring.

How will Christian respond to his brother’s treatment, and who are the two men that helped Edge’s plan unfold? Tune in to Smackdown this Friday to find out.

A MASTERFUL ATTACK
Just when it looked like Paul Burchill & Harry Smith, the WWE Tag Team Champions were getting under the skin of Chris Masters & Charlie Haas, The Masters of the Mat struck back with menace last week. Smith went one on one with The Masterpiece, and when Haas looked to get involved and help out his partner, Burchill decided to come to his partner’s aid too. However it didn’t work out quite like that. Burchill was on the receiving end of a vicious steel chair shot to the skull, but it was to get worse very soon. The Masterpiece turned his attention to Burchill’s broken wrist, and blasted the cast with the chair repeatedly.

What is the condition of Burchill? We’ll find out later this week when Smackdown comes to you live from the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio.

ELIMINATING DIVAS ONE BY ONE
Ever since Smackdown was blessed with a number of divas being drafted to Friday nights back a couple of months ago, the blue brand’s women have tried to outdo each other, but we found out last week that in a matter of weeks, Smackdown will have its very own Divas Champion. Tazz informed the squabbling duo of Beth Phoenix & Mia Rain that starting this week, there will be an elimination series that will see Smackdown’s divas compete until only two are left to battle it out for the gold. Later on in the evening, Phoenix & Rain had to try and put their problems to one side as they were th...t in to a handicap match against Mickie James, Michelle McCool & Maria. They couldn’t do it however, and Mickie was able to take advantage and earn the victory for her team.

As we go in to week one of the elimination series, will the problems between The Glamazon & Rain have a direct impact on the match once again?

SWAGGER TALKS HIMSELF IN TO TROUBLE. . . BIG TROUBLE
Jack Swagger decided to take a week off from physical competition and check out some of the other talent Smackdown has to offer. He joined Michael Cole & Matt Striker at the announce position to watch Bobby Lashley’s match with Orlando Jordan. The former amateur boxer grabbed a steel chair at one point and tried to take it in to the ring, but Lashley was able to dodge that plan and tried to use the chair himself. Swagger took a dislike to that tactic and wrestled the chair away from Lashley. However, it didn’t prove costly as Jordan fell foul of the former United States Champion moments later. That wasn’t to be the end of the night for either Lashley or Swagger as they met backstage later on in the evening. Swagger was confronted by an angry Lashley, who demanded to know why Swagger stuck his nose in his business. The arrogant youngster made out that he was appalled by Lashley’s attempt to cheat to win his match, and he then told Lashley that he should try to conduct himself more like him.

Lashley then promptly challenged the up and comer to a match this week, and Swagger rather reluctantly accepted. Will he be able to match up to one of the big boys in Lashley? You’ll have to watch to find out.

KILLINGS GUNNING FOR REVENGE
Chavo Guerrero was elated when he was able to defeat Ron Killings and book a place in the King of the Ring tournament at the same time a few weeks back, but things certainly didn’t go his way over the course of the last week. Not only did he taste defeat last Friday night thanks to a distraction from Killings, he was sent packing in the King of the Ring tournament at the first stage on Sunday night after losing to fellow Mexican, Rey Mysterio.

How will that affect The Mexican Warrior’s mood as he rolls in to Denver this week?

IS JETER MOVING ON?
It looks as if Johnny Jeter’s forgotten all about Matt Sydal now thanks to a dressing down from the Cruiserweight Champion, Michael Shane. After being told he was pathetic by Shane earlier in the night, Jeter went on to defeat Shannon Moore and then sent a message to Shane afterwards. We found out earlier this week that Tazz has made a non title match between the two of them for this Friday, which should be fiercely competitive.

Can Jeter follow up his victory from last week with another, or will the Cruiserweight Champion come out on top?

PLUS
We’ve also been told that an Indian superstar by the name of Sonjay Dutt, recently signed by Tazz will make his debut this week when he goes up against Kid Kash. Will it be a debut to remember or forget for the Smackdown newcomer?

CONFIRMED FOR THIS FRIDAY NIGHT ON SMACKDOWN

WWE Divas Championship
Elimination Series – Match #1
Mickie James vs Maria vs Michelle McCool vs Beth Phoenix vs Mia Rain

Non Title Match
Michael Shane vs Johnny Jeter

Plus

The Crowning of “King” Matt Sydal

It's amazing to see how much has changed to the real WWE around this time compared to what you have done in this thread.
I wasn't around since the opening of this thread to see how things went all lop-sided in the E' and things like Kane getting his mask back, but I like it.
Here is what I think will happen on Smackdown! can't promise a read but i'll try.
Phenoix > All other divas
Michael Shane > Jeter
Matt Sydal (better name then Evan good you didn't give it to him by the way ) crowning should be good, you should really give the guy some sort of edge. Like in Austin's crowning he debut'd the 3:16 saying, make something earth shattering happen here with a slow push of Evan to the top.
Lashly > Swagger
Dutt > Kash - I mean it's the debut you wouldn't debut a jobber would you lol

Bourne's coronation should be fun, I just hope you don't give him too much to say, as he's not the best talker. I'd be surprised if Shelton didn't make an appearance throughout, and I can see this program heading into a direction with the US Title on the line. Looking forward to this.

Punk's match with MVP was good, and I liked that he went over clean. The easier route to keep the program going would've been to have him cheat, but I don't see MVP letting up just yet.

The Jericho/'Taker feud is being built up nicely, and I'm looking forward to seeing what Jericho says next, and if 'Taker'll have some sort of rebuttle.

Edge' and Christian's feud has also been going great, especially with the addition of Devine and Williams. Definitely looking forward to how you'll introduce them and their characters, and what Christian and Tomko'll do about it all.

I believe that with what last went down, we won't be seeing Burchill compete any time soon, which is a bummer. I prefer him over Smith, but anyway, we'll see what sort of interaction the Masters'll have with Tazz this week.

The Divas program here on SD! has been very fun, and the Elimination Series should be as well. I can see either Maria or McCool getting the boot this week, and the one that doesn't will the next. Looking forward to it.

Swagger/Lashley should provide a good match, a program I'm hoping is driven by wrestling and not as much talking. Either way, I liked the way it was kicked off, with Swagger preventing cheating, leads me to believe he'll do some cheating to win here.

I was expecting Killings to appear at KOTR to cost Chavo, but I see that it's not over just yet. I can see Killings winning this feud in the end, just seems like the type to have a happy ending. Either way, this week should provide some pissed-off segments from both guys.

Shane/Jeter should be a fun match to further their program, and Dutt making his debut should provide for a good match as well with Kash.

All in all, show looks good, I'll be reading and reviewing as usual, Nige.

Smackdown Results - Friday 20th June 2008

Dayton, Ohio

***Opening Video***
“If You Rock Like Me”

*Video Recap*
From the King of the Ring

The highlights of the World Heavyweight Championship match that culminated in CM Punk defeating MVP courtesy of the GTS to retain his title.

The highlights of the King of the Ring tournament final between Matt Sydal & Shelton Benjamin, ending with Sydal hitting a Cyclorama out of nowhere and following up with a Shooting Star Press to become the 2008 WWE King of the Ring. His post match celebrations, pyro as well as the fans reactions are shown, as well as an unhappy look from Benjamin.

{Cut to the Arena}

Josh Matthews is standing at the top of the stage with a throne just to his right. A robe is placed on a dummy with a crown on top and a sceptre resting on the throne.

Josh Matthews: Ladies and gentleman. It’s my pleasure t’ introduce t’ you, the 2008 WWE King of the Ring. . . MATT SYDAL.

“Axeman” hits to a big pop as a casually dressed Matt Sydal walks out to the stage to join Josh. He shakes his hand and looks in to the crowd with amazement at the terrific ovation he’s receiving. His music eventually stops and the crowd die down.

Josh Matthews:
Matt, first off I have t’ congratulate you on your amazing performance this past Sunday night at the King of the Ring. I think it’s fair t’ say that beforehand, no one really gave you a chance of winning, yet afterward some people were saying that they thought you had raw talent, and you showed so much courage and determination t’ win not just one, but three matches in one night. And aside from proving a lot of people wrong, how did it feel when you realised that you were in fact the 2008 King of the Ring?

*Pop*

Matt Sydal: Y’know Josh I have to be honest, it’s still not really sunk in yet. I came here t’night and heard all about this crowning ceremony or whatever it is. It feels great an’ all but kind o’ like it’s a dream at the same time. It’s a lot t’ take in.

Josh Matthews: I think we can all understand that it could take some time t’ get used to it as there’s no doubting just what an achievement it was on your part. Surely you must have felt so proud as well as tired after you beat Shelton Benjamin in that epic final match.

Matt Sydal: Yeah, it wasn’t easy t’ wrestle three matches in one night y’know. I’ve never come close t’ doin’ that before, but I couldn’t ‘ave done it without all the support these guys gave me. They were awesome from start to finish, and if it weren’t for them gettin’ behind me like they did, things might be a whole lot different, so I just wanna thank all of ‘em from the bottom of my heart ‘cause it meant so much.

*Big Pop*

Matt Sydal: Thanks guys.

Josh Matthews: Wow, it’s clear you’ve got quite a following here t’night Matt.

Matt Sydal: Yeah it sure does. It's crazy, but I love it. Thanks guys.

Josh Matthews: Anyway, we just mentioned that you beat Shelton Benjamin in the final match Sunday night, but apparently afterwards, he wasn’t all that happy as you could maybe expect. We then got word earlier today of a video he posted online sometime this week where he spoke quite openly about the King of the Ring and how things went. I don’t know whether you or anyone else has seen it, but let’s take a look at what he had t’ say.

We then cut to a shot of the tron that shows a very subdued looking Shelton Benjamin sat in front of a computer screen and looking in to a webcam in what appears to be his home.

Shelton Benjamin:
It might be over forty eight hours since Sunday night, but I still can’t believe it. I’ve been playin’ it back in my head over an’ over. I’ve even watched the match several times over, and I still don’t get it. I don’t get how a kid like Matt whatever his name can not only beat me, the United States Champion, The Gold Standard, and become the King of the Ring. . . I’ve thought it over and over, and I’ve still got nothin’. I know he got a fluke win over me a few weeks back, but I took my eye off the ball that night. That’s all it was, a fluke, but Sunday was diff’rent. I busted my ass t’ be the King of the Ring. I wanted more than anythin’ in the world, and I know deep down that I deserve it a whole lot more than that Sydal kid. I mean, he ain’t been here two minutes. I’ve worked up t’ this for years, and t’ have it taken away from me by someone like him makes me sick t’ my stomach. And as much he and all the fans can enjoy it, I can’t. I’ve worked way too hard for too long t’ just accept somethin’ as big as this just t’ get it taken away from me by one guy who just happened t’ get lucky and rob me of the single biggest accomplishment of my career when his career ain’t even started yet.

Shelton shakes his head, clearly f...trated.

Shelton Benjamin:
Y’know, this whole thing’s had me thinkin’ non-stop for the last couple o’ days, and right now I can’t even think about steppin’ foot inside a wrestling ring. I don’t understand what happened, and I sure as hell don’t wanna be reminded constantly of what went down at the King of the Ring. It’s made me make a decision, and as rash as it might sound, I’ve got no choice but t’ step away and take some time out t’ think about what I do next. If that means I lose the United States title, then so be it, ‘cause I don’t even wanna think about wrestlin’, the King of the Ring, an’ I sure as hell don’t wanna think about Matt Sydal anymore than I already am. . . But y’know what, I gotta feelin’ you’re gonna see this Matt, so I’ve got somethin’ I wanna say t’ you. . . For what it’s worth, as much as I can’t figure out what happened and why, I wanna say congratulations on your achievement. I just hope it makes you happy. Maybe I’ll see y’round. Or then again, maybe I won’t.

Shelton turns his head slightly to the side and rubs his chin for a moment. He then reaches forward and seems to press something, and the picture goes. The shot goes back to the arena with the fans unsure of what to think. Some are booing Shelton while some appear to be cheering because he won’t be around for a while. Even Josh & Sydal look shocked at what Benjamin had to say.

Josh Matthews:
Matt, I’m sure Shelton’s only one of a very small number of people who are questioning your victory, but I have t’ ask you what you make of those very surprising comments from the United States Champion.

Matt Sydal: No one was more surprised than me Josh when I won the King of the Ring, but I’m not gonna feel bad about it. I won every match fair and square, it’s not like I did something wrong. I just did what I had t’ win each match, and if Shelton can’t handle that, then that’s his problem, not mine.

*Pop*

Josh Matthews: I agree. I think that’s for him t’ worry about, and like you said, we all saw every match, and there’s no doubt that you indeed deserved to be the last man standing and win the tournament. And with that said, I think it’s time we made this official.

Matt Sydal: Do we really have t’ do this? This really isn’t me y’know. I just wanna get back t’ normal. It’s great t’ be the King of the Ring an’ all, but do I really need all that stuff too?

Josh Matthews: Oh come on Matt, it’ll be fun. Think of it like this. You can go through the ceremony t’night and mark your achievement, and when it’s all over, you won’t have t’ think about it ever again. I’m sure your fans wanna see you in the snazzy robe and rather fetching crown. People, am I right?

*Huge Pop*

Sydal chuckles slightly and shakes his head.

Matt Sydal:
Alright, alright, but don’t call me King Matt or anything stupid like that.

Josh Matthews: You got it. . . Okay, I think we’ll start with the robe.

Matthews walks over to the dummy and throne. He puts the microphone down on the throne alongside the sceptre before taking the robe off the dummy. He walks back over to Sydal and asks him to turn around, and he reluctantly does so, allowing Josh to put the robe on him. It gets a big cheer from the crowd, but Sydal looks really embarrassed. Josh then turns back and takes the crowd off the dummy’s head, then gently puts it on Sydal’s head to another big pop from the fans. Sydal shakes his head again, looking very embarrassed as Josh then turns back to collect the sceptre and the microphone. He then passes Sydal the sceptre.

Josh Matthews:
There you go Matt. How does that feel? . . . Ladies and gentleman, give it up for the 2008 WWE King of the Ring. . . MATT SYDAL.

*Massive Pop*

Sydal reluctantly salutes the crowd with the sceptre, still looking embarrassed as Josh claps with the fans doing the same. We then see Shelton Benjamin running out from the back, and he nails Sydal from behind, knocking him to his knees to a ton of heat from the Dayton crowd. Josh looks on in shock as Shelton pummels Sydal with a series of kicks to the back. He then tries to question Shelton, but The Gold Standard pushes him down to his knees with force. Benjamin then sees that the sceptre fell out of Sydal’s hand and hit the floor. He picks it up as Sydal tries to stand back up, and he slowly manages to get to his feet. Shelton is lying in wait, armed with the sceptre, and as Sydal then turns round with the crowd desperately trying to warn him, Benjamin cracks him in the skull with the sceptre despite an a late attempt from Josh to stop him. Sydal just falls in a heap and looks to be out of it with the intense Benjamin leaning over his body with a sadistic look on his face as the fans boo like crazy. He then starts talking at Sydal, getting right in his face, but Sydal’s unconscious.

Shelton Benjamin:
Did you really think I was gonna let some lucky punk kid get one over on me? . . . You’re gonna be very sorry, y’hear? Very sorry.

He then leans back and stands up, while still looking down at Sydal.

Shelton Benjamin:
Congratulations.

The fans continue booing as Shelton then backs away from Sydal with a couple of EMT’s then coming out to check on Sydal, along with the concerned Matthews. The camera then zooms in on a shot of Benjamin grinning sadistically, and he then turns round and walks to the back as EMT’s continue to check on Sydal and call out for more help from the back.

During The Break

Shelton Benjamin is shown walking through the back with a big smile on his face, but as he turns a corner, he walks right in to a very angry looking Tazz, who is in the middle of a phone call. The smile is wiped off Shelton’s face.

Tazz:
Hold on a sec will y’Harry, I just gotta deal wit’ somethin’ real quick.

Tazz takes the phone away from his ear and stares right at Benjamin.

Tazz:
What the hell d’ y’think were doin’ huh? No one gets away wit’ pullin’ a stunt like that on my show. . . no one. I’ve already got some crap t’ deal wit’ from last week without this. So what I suggest is y’get the hell out o’ my sight real quick before I do somethin’ I regret.

Shelton smirks, clearly getting under the skin of the general manager.

Shelton Benjamin:
Don’t worry, I was already goin’. You have a good night y’hear.

Tazz tries very hard to keep his cool and turns round to watch Shelton walk out of the shot and up the hall. Tazz then takes a couple of seconds to compose himself before going back to his call.

Tazz:
Sorry ‘bout that Harry, you were sayin’. . . Look, after what Masters and Haas pulled last week, I thought it was best t’ keep all o’ ya away t’night before all hell broke loose again. . . I don’t blame ya, but don’t worry ‘bout that. You’re gonna get your hands on ‘em at The Great American Bash in a match I’ve entitled the final encounter. After that match, that’s it between you two, no more. You down wit’ that? . . . Good, I’m glad. Now make sure Burchill heels up before he comes back alright? . . . Cool, I’ll see y’soon Harry. Later.

Tazz flips his cell shut and looks to each side.

Tazz:
Where the hell can I get somethin’ to eat ‘round here?

He walks up the hall and out of the shot.

Johnny Jeter is walking down the hall, dragging his travel bag with a rather glamorous looking older woman, looking to be in her early to mid 40’s walking alongside him. As they get to one of the doors, they both stop walking and Jeter turns to face her.

Johnny Jeter:
Don’t get me wrong mum, it’s nice t’ spend time with you and all, but this is my work. It’s not really a place for. . . well, you.

Johnny’s Mum: Come on Johnny, what’s the harm with a mother surprising her son and wanting t’ spend a little time with him?

Jeter doesn’t know what to say or how to let her down gently.

Johnny’s Mum:
I’m not here to embarrass you Johnny, it’s just that we’ve not spent some quality time together for a long time. And now that your dad and I have separated, I thought it’d be nice t’ spend some time with my only son and show you a little support.

Johnny Jeter: Alright, I get the picture. I guess it won’t be so bad t’ have y’here t’night, but this is a one off right?

Johnny’s Mum: Sure. I see it’s a boy’s kind of place, but how would you feel about me buying you dinner later?

Johnny Jeter: Okay mum, but I got a match later. We can go after that, but I need t’ go get changed now. I won’t be long. . . (Jeter turns round) HEY.

The camera zooms out to show a worker in the distance.

Worker:
What, me?

Johnny Jeter: Yeah you, come here.

The worker walks down the hall with Jeter’s mother looking the young man up and down.

Johnny Jeter:
I need you t’ go get my mum a drink while I get changed. She’ll tell y’what she wants alright.

Worker: Okay, no problem.

Johnny Jeter: I’ll see y’later mum.

Johnny’s Mum: Yeah, okay Johnny. I look forward to it.

She looks the young man up and down again, leaving him slightly uncomfortable.

Worker:
So, is there anything you want in particular?

Johnny’s Mum: (Licking her lips) You could say that.

The poor guy looks confused.

Worker:
I’m sorry?

Johnny’s Mum: Do you mind if I ask you a question?

Worker: Sure.

Johnny’s Mum: Are all the guys around here as cute as you?

Worker: That’s very nice madam, but I have a girlfriend.

Johnny’s Mum: Oh well, that’s a shame. I’m sure there’s a lot of things I could show you.

She continues to look in to his eyes, leaving the poor guy flustered.

Worker:
Do you still want me t’ get you that drink?

Johnny’s Mum: Well, I might as well since it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting anything else.

Worker: (Shaking his head in disbelief and embarrassment) I guess you better follow me then.

He turns round while she checks out his rear before following him up the hall.

***The Opening Contest***

Sonjay Dutt vs Kid Kash

ENDING: Sonjay got a decent pop as he made his ‘lively’ entrance, and he started the match off very quickly. Kash has managed to put the brakes on it though, and after countering a hurricanrana in to a powerbomb, The Notorious KID stands back up and runs in to the corner, then springboards twice to hit a DOUBLE JUMP MOONSAULT!. . . . . Dutt looks to be in trouble as Kash looks up and smirks in to the crowd before coolly hooking the legs for a cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . Dutt gets his shoulder up and surprises the crowd, getting a pop as Kash looks on in shock. He pulls himself back up to his knees and stares down at Dutt, who then rolls on to his side, showing some real courage. Kash looks like he’s going to blow his top, and he stands back up as his opponent struggles to his knees. He helps Dutt up and whips him hard in to the corner pads. He then follows in and runs at him, but Dutt holds on to the top rope and lifts both his feet up in to Kash’s face. That sends Kash staggering out of the corner while Dutt pulls himself up to the second rope, and as Kash turns round, Dutt jumps on to his shoulder and then hits a spinning head scissors takedown. The fans like that, and as both men get back up to a vertical base, Dutt kicks him in the gut, then plants him with a TILT-A-WHIRL TORNADO DDT!!!. . . . . The crowd are in shock, and they cheer that incredible move by Dutt, but they’re stunned to see him stand up and drag Kash to the corner instead of going for the cover as are Michael Cole & Matt Striker. They watch on as Dutt climbs all the way up to the top, and then leaps off to connect with the HINDU PRESS (Corkscrew 450 splash). . . . . The fans cheer that too as Dutt instantly readjusts his position and makes the cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3.

WINNER: Sonjay Dutt by pinfall @ 5.47.

AFTERMATH: Dutt’s music hits to a big pop as he stands up and gets his arm raised after a very impressive debut victory. He’s all smiles as he walks in to the far corner and climbs up to the second rope to pose for the crowd, but we then see Jamie Noble running down the aisle and slip inside the ring. He takes a brief look at the squirming Kash before walking towards Dutt, and as the debutant steps down off the ropes and turns round, Noble catches him off guard and kicks him in the gut. He then decides to take the assault one step further by hitting a DOUBLE UNDERHOOK POWERBOMB!! The fans don’t like that one bit and make it crystal clear as they boo vociferously, but Kash looks a little surprised as he gets back up, still slightly dazed. Noble turns round and grins at his fellow Pitbull. Kash quickly smirks back once he’s realised what’s going on, and they walk towards each other and slap hands for their reunion. Kash then takes a look down at Dutt and smiles once more before he and Noble raise their hands together in the middle of the ring with “Bawitdaba” then hitting to heat from the crowd.

Michael Cole: I can’t believe that Matt. Sonjay Dutt picked up a big victory here on his Smackdown debut, but thanks t’ Jamie Noble, he didn’t get the chance to enjoy it. That’s despicable.

Matt Striker: I agree Michael, but I for one am glad to see Mister Noble finally make his return. It looks to me that Kid Kash wasn’t even expecting t’ see him t’night, and now they have each other once again, there could be trouble in store for the rest of the Smackdown locker room.

{Cut to Ringside}

“Break The Walls Down” hits to a ton of heat inside the arena as Chris Jericho, dressed in a suit walks out to the stage looking very serious as he shrugs off the boos before walking down the ramp and in to the ring. He collects a microphone from Justin Roberts before walking back in to the centre of the ring and waits for the crowd to pipe down.

Chris Jericho:
Quite frankly, you could demonstrate your disapproval of me all night long, but the fact remains that it won’t make a shred of difference, just like every single opinion you people have.

*Heat*

Chris Jericho: It’s become perfectly clear that a large number of you insignificant morons have formed a very negative opinion of me since I returned to Smackdown a matter of weeks ago and spoke ill of one of your all conquering hero. . . The Undertaker.

*Big Pop*

Chris Jericho: See that’s why your opinion means nothing, because deep down everyone knows that the only person’s opinion that actually counts for anything around here is mine. I can stand in this ring and tell each and every one of you that you are wrong, and there’s a very obvious reason for that. . . I speak the truth while you’re all blinded by selected highlights of a near twenty year career that has fallen in credibility each and every year that has passed. It’s abundantly clear to anyone who knows what they’re talking about, and that’s why all of you who stand there each and every week and boo me because in your eyes, I’m degrading the legacy of The Undertaker, when in fact the only person who is guilty of doing so is The Undertaker himself.

*Tons of Heat*

Chris Jericho: However, I haven’t come here t’night to talk about The Undertaker for a number of reasons. One being that I courageously made a stand two weeks ago when I prevented him from making a fool of himself once more by taking actions in to my own hands. That’s why you’ve not seen the dead man since and will continue t’ be united in your pathetic grief for a while t’ come, but last week my attention and anger was taken away from The Undertaker by Smackdown’s co called World Champion, CM Punk.

*Major Heat*

Chris Jericho: Whatever you think of me is irrelevant, yet there is a reason why I too feel the same about CM Punk as all of you pitiful people. . . CM Punk is a man who has shown nothing but cowardice ever since the moment he became the World Champion. . . I’m sorry, in fact the first glimpse of his cowardice came when he decided to challenge for the championship in the manner in which he did, but the fact is he continues to show the same gutless tendencies. . . For example, I was forced in to being his tag team partner last week, and when the going got tough, he walked out of the match and left me to compete against two men all by myself. That is not how a world champion should conduct himself, and I would happen t’ know since I was the first ever undisputed WWE Champion.

*Heat*

Chris Jericho: And I can say with much confidence that had it been Chris Jericho challenging CM Punk for the World Championship this past Sunday at the King of the Ring, you wouldn’t be left with a coward as your world champion, but the perfect example of what a champion should be. . . a courageous, selfless, honest man, qualities which I have in abundance, as well as being the single greatest performer in the history of this very company.

*Boos*

Chris Jericho: In fact, I have t’ call in question the intelligence of our general manager in allowing a coward like CM Punk to remain the champion of this show when the right man to lead this company is standing in front of your very eyes right at this very moment.

More boos ring out, but all of a sudden, “13” blasts out to a big pop as Tazz walks down to the ring with a microphone in hand. The General Manager has quite a big smile on his face while Jericho doesn’t look all that impressed by his presence.

Chris Jericho:
Unless you’re about t’ ....lve the mess you’ve created in allowing CM Punk to. . .

Tazz: Alright Chris, maybe you should give it a rest for a sec.

*Pop*

Tazz: As much as I don’t like CM Punk and how he won the world title, the fact is he didn’t do anythin’ wrong. Anyone who’s stepped foot in this ring and has strong beliefs about this business ain’t likely t’ think otherwise, so we can agree on that. But what I don’t agree on Chris is you and this opinion y’got o’ yourself.

*Pop*

Tazz: Do y’actually hear half o’ the crap that comes out your mouth or what?

*Big Pop*

Jericho is seething, but Tazz isn’t put off at all by him.

Tazz:
You come out here an’ call Punk a coward after what y’did t’ The Undertaker two weeks ago. . . Hell no, I ain’t havin’ that. . . The way I see it is Chris, you seem t’ think you’re the only person who can decide what’s right and what’s wrong, but here on Smackdown. . . that’s my job. I make the decisions round here, and I’ve made one I think you’re gonna like t’night. . . By now I think it’s pretty obvious I’m not yours or Punk’s biggest fan, but I couldn’t help but think how much fun it’d be t’ see you two go at it after what you said a few minutes ago. . . An’ y’know what? You’re gonna get your wish. ‘Cause right here t’night in the main event, it’s gonna be CM Punk versus Chris Jericho.

*Big Pop*

Chris Jericho: Y’know, I think. . .

Tazz: . . . Excuse me, but I ain’t finished.

*Pop*

Tazz: Just t’ put y’outta your misery. . . it ain’t gonna be for the world title. However, if you can beat Punk t’night by pinfall or submission, I ain’t got a problem in givin’ you what y’want. . . You wanna be the man ‘roun’ here? Well, y’got your chance. Just don’t come cryin’ t’me if it all goes pair shaped.

Chris Jericho: Tazz, I’d just like to say that even though I might have spoken out of turn regarding your position here, you’ve just made a step in a positive direction. . . Once I’m finished beating CM Punk tonight, you and I will have something in common. . . We will both be at the helm of Smackdown. You as general manager and yours truly as the World Heavyweight Champion.

*Heat*

“Break The Walls Down” plays to heat from inside the arena as Tazz smirks at Jericho before turning round and leaving the ring, leaving Jericho standing there smiling in to the crowd.

Non-Title Match
Michael Shane vs Johnny Jeter
w/Mrs. Jeter

ENDING: In what’s been a very competitive and even match, both men pick themselves back up after a double clothesline with Jeter’s mum watching on, sat on a steel chair at ringside. Jeter looks to strike first with a right hand, but Shane blocks it and hammers away at him, sending Jeter back a few paces. The Cruiserweight Champion then whips him in to the ropes, and as Jeter comes back, Shane takes him down with an arm drag. Jeter responds straight away, standing back up, but he walks right in to Shane and a BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX. . . . . Shane looks to wrap the match up here and hooks the leg as the ref ...hes down to his knees to make the count. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . Jeter kicks out, and despite clapping her son’s resilience, his mum looks quite smitten with Shane as he leans back and sees her clapping. She smiles at Shane, and he smiles back, looking somewhat surprised. He gets distracted for a minute, but he then stands back up and pulls Shane up with him, then lifts him off his feet and back down in to an inverted atomic drop. Jeter hobbles round on the mat, and as his mother continues to look at Shane, his opponent grabs him by the head and pulls it in to his body, then reaches down to grab his leg before planting him with a LEG HOOK DDT!!. . . . . Jeter’s head just got drilled in to the mat, and his mother looks worried now as Shane turns him on to his back and goes for another cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No! Shoulder up from Jeter. Some more resilience from Jeter, but Shane senses the end could be near as he stands back up and walks in to the corner. He starts stomping his foot on the mat, tuning up the band, but Jeter’s mum catches his attention once again as she locks her eyes on him while her son starts to come round. Shane stops and stares at her, giving her the once over and getting a smile back as Jeter gets to his feet. Shane spots his opponent back on his feet and ...hes across the mat for the SWEET SHANE MUSIC!. . . . . Jeter’s recovered thanks to the distraction and ducks his head as Shane goes right past him, and as the Cruiserweight Champion turns round, he walks right in to a GENESIS KICK (Jumping Spin Kick)!!! . . . . . Shane falls in a heap with Jeter’s mum looking concerned, but her son doesn’t waste a second in turning Shane on to his back and cover him. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3.

WINNER: Johnny Jeter by pinfall @ 6.42.

AFTERMATH: “Time To Shine” hits as Jeter stands back up with a huge grin on his face while getting his arm raised. His mum stands up from her seat on the outside and claps her son once more. Jeter looks very pleased as he turns round and sees his mum there clapping him, and he walks over to the ropes to leave the ring. He jumps down to the floor and receives a hug from his mum as Shane sits up, looking very disappointed as Jeter and his mum walk round to the ramp. She turns round and smiles at Shane, clearly taken with him as Jeter then turns round and laughs at Shane, who grins back at his mum with Jeter seemingly unaware of the glances between his mother and his rival.

Mickie James, Michelle McCool & Maria are all finishing up getting changed in the divas locker room. Mickie stands up and stands in front of both of them.

Mickie James:
Y’know t’night girls, we don’t need t’ worry about each other. All we’ve gotta do is let Beth and Rain go at it. They wanna tear each other apart, that’s obvious. Then we can just pick up the pieces and think about what happens next later. That sounds good right?

McCool & Maria turn at look at each other for a second before turning back towards Mickie.

Michelle McCool:
I think you’re right Mickie, although I wouldn’t mind gettin’ myself a bit o’ both of ‘em too.

Mickie James: We can do that too. I was just sayin’ they’ll do enough damage to each other, just you wait. Once one of them is gone, it’ll be just be us and the one who survives tonight, and we can finish them both off next week.

Michelle McCool: Yeah I like that. But don’t forget one of us won’t be in the match next week, ‘cause whichever one of us wins t’night gets a free pass for a week. I think we’d all like that right?

Maria: Hey, but it’ll still be two on one next week anyway right? It really doesn’t matter who wins t’night.

Mickie James: Exactly.

Michelle McCool: Yeah, alright. I’m just sayin’. We all want the same thing at the end of all this, and there’s gonna be a time when it’s every woman for herself y’know.

Mickie James: I know, but like I said, we can think about that later. If we get t’night and next week out of the way, it’ll be down to just us if everything goes to plan.

Michelle McCool: Okay, okay, I get it.

Mickie James: Whoa, what's wrong with you?

Michelle McCool: I’d just rather not talk about it and actually get on with it y’know.

Mickie James: Okay, I see your point. It’ll all work out though, you’ll see.

Maria stands up.

Maria:
YEAH, GIRL POWER.

Mickie James: Thanks for that Maria.

Maria: No problem.

McCool continues lacing up her boots with Mickie smiling at an excited Maria.

Chavo Guerrero is walking down the hallway and doesn’t appear to be one of his better moods, and as he turns a corner, he stands still and doesn’t look happy as we hear someone clapping. The camera then pans to the side to show Ron Killings grinning and clapping his hands, but he soon stops with Chavo looking very agitated.

Ron Killings:
Great showin’ Sunday Chavo, y’did great man. Do me a favour will ya an’ remind me how far away you got from bein’ the King of the Ring. . . Y’got t’ the final right? . . . Wait, no it was the semi’s weren’t it? . . . Sorry, my bad, you went out first round di’n’t ya. . . Oh well, at least y’tried y’best. Y’can’t say better than that.

Chavo tries to keep his cool as he stares angrily at Killings, who becomes a little more serious.

Ron Killings:
If y’ask me, y’got exactly what y’deserved bro’ after y’screwed me over an’ cost me a chance t’ go t’ the King of the Ring. I might o’ joked ‘bout it, but y’got exactly what y’deserved.

Chavo Guerrero: Don’t you dare start on me about what I deserve. You don’t deserve t’ be in this company with your past, and you certainly didn’t deserve a place in the King of the Ring. We’re talking about Kings not convicts. The sooner you get you don’t deserve t’ be here, the better.

Ron Killings: Look, I’ve paid my dues, t...t me, but you ain’t anywhere near payin’ yours yet man.

Chavo Guerrero: Oh, what’s that supposed t’ mean exactly?

Ron Killings: Simple. . . This.

Killings then drills him with a right hand, knocking Chavo to the floor. The Mexican sits up and stares right at Killings. He stands up and they go at it, but a group of six officials and workers pile in and separate them.

Ron Killings:
I AIN’T FINISHED WIT’ YOU CHAVO. YOU’RE GONNA GET WHAT’S COMIN’ T’YA.

Chavo Guerrero: YOU THINK SO DO YA? COME ON THEN JAILBIRD.

Officials: GUYS, LET IT GO.

Killings tries to get past the officials, but they hold him off.

Ron Killings:
JUS’ YOU WAIT CHAVO. YOU'RE GONNA GET YOURS, I PROMISE YA.

Chavo looks a little concerned as the intense Killings is restrained by the officials.

Jack Swagger going down to the ring, commentating on Bobby Lashley’s match with Kid Kash, explaining he wanted to take a look at the competition. We then see him grabbing the steel chair from Lashley that Kash brought in to the ring earlier, and the exchange of words between Swagger & before Lashley went on to win the match and angrily stare at him afterwards.

Their confrontation in the back is then shown as Swagger told Lashley he didn’t approve of cheating, saying he didn’t need to and that he was undefeated. Lashley’s challenge of a match and a somewhat low key acceptance from Swagger is then documented.

***Match #3***

Bobby Lashley vs Jack Swagger

ENDING: Swagger looks a little worse for wear as he struggles to his feet with Lashley lying in wait. As Swagger turns round, Lashley runs right at him and takes him down with a thunderous running clothesline. To be fair to the youngster, he picks himself back up right away, but Lashley is right on him. He grabs him by the arm and whips him ferociously in to the corner, and follows him in immediately, driving his shoulder in to Swagger’s stomach. The All American American slumps forward as Lashley steps back and then pulls him out of the corner, grabbing him around the waist and tossing him over his head with an OVERHEAD BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX!!. . . . . Swagger sits up with his face scrunched up and lets out a brief scream of pain as Lashley then stands back up and walks over to his fallen opponent. He reaches down and pulls him up to his feet, then sets him up for a T-BONE SUPLEX. . . . . As Lashley steadies himself, Swagger fights back and swings his arm in to the side of Lashley’s head, and for a second time to escape his opponent’s clutches. He then turns to the side and runs the ropes, but as he runs back, Lashley shakes off the cobwebs and connects with a standing clothesline. Swagger picks himself back up straight away, and Lashley gives him a helping hand before whipping him in to the ropes. Lashley ducks his head, and Swagger takes advantage as he bounces back and swipes his boot in to Lashley’s face.

As his head snap backs up, Swagger reacts quickly to plant him with a SNAP SWINGING NECKBREAKER!!. . . . . Lashley hits the deck and looks to be in trouble as Swagger scurries across the canvas to make a cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No! Lashley gets his shoulder up just in time. Swagger is obviously f...trated by it as he sits up, and as he returns to his feet, Lashley rolls to the side and gets up by the ropes. As he turns round to face Swagger, the undefeated star runs right at him and sends him over the top to the outside with a thunderous clothesline. He then looks proud of himself as he lifts his arms up in to the air, resulting in boos from the fans. He shrugs it off with a smirk as he then joins Lashley on the outside and puts the boots to him. After a couple of seconds, he helps Lashley up to his feet and drives his head in to the security wall. With Lashley slumped against it, Swagger takes the time to grin at the fans, but as he tries to pull Lashley away, the monster fights back and nails him with a right hand, sending him back pedalling towards the ring. The referee is counting on the inside and gets to six, and as Lashley throws another right, Swagger blocks it and drills him with a right of his own and follows it up with another. He then sees the ref frantically counting and panics, shoving Lashley down to his knees and crawls back in the ring as the count gets to nine. Lashley stands up, but the referee counts to ten and calls for the bell.

WINNER: Jack Swagger by count out @ 6.20.

AFTERMATH: “On Your Knees” plays to heat from the crowd as Swagger smiles widely, laughing down at Lashley while getting his arm raised, irritating the big man. Lashley quickly jumps back up on to the apron, and Swagger decides to take his leave, turning to the side and sliding under the bottom rope. He walks round to the aisle and lifts both his arms up in to the air to a cho... of boos with while laughing back at the irate Lashley, who just stares intensely at the incredibly boastful figure of Jack Swagger.

Josh Matthews is standing by at the interview set.

Josh Matthews:
Would you please welcome my guest at this time. . . “The Rated R Superstar” Edge.

Boos can be heard coming from inside the arena as a very smug Edge walks in to the shot along with the two men who jumped Christian last week.

Josh Matthews:
Edge, I have t’ ask you about last week and how you set Christian up. . .

Edge: . . . Whoa hold on Josh, it sounds like you’re a little down on it, like you don’t approve or something.

Josh Matthews: Well, you set him up and had those two guys attack him from behind it. It’s hardly. . .

Edge: . . . Let me stop y’there Josh alright. . . Wait a minute, where are my manners? . . . Josh, let me introduce you to a couple o’ friends mine, Petey Williams and Johnny Devine.

They half smile at an uneasy looking Josh Matthews.

Edge:
Sorry, where was I? . . . Oh yeah that’s it. All I did Josh was prove a point to my baby brother, ‘cause ever since he came back, he’s done nothing but play t’ those morons out there t’ try and make me look this bad person. But while he’s been runnin’ his mouth week in week out, talking about all these so called negative qualities he believes I have, he forgot just how intelligent I am, and especially in comparison t’ him. All the way through school, not only was I referred to as the one most likely to be a WWE Champion, but I was the straight ‘A’ student while Christian flunked pretty much every class he was in because he thought he was the class clown, when in fact all he was is the same dumb human being he is t’day. Not only that, but he trails through a list of names I’ve apparently upset along the way like he’s never upset anyone in his life when then fact is he’s not the straight talkin’, fun lovin’ guy he makes out, and these guys will tell y’that. . . See when C was making a so called name for himself at this place he’s been hiding at the last couple o’ years, he liked to throw his weight around and play on his success he had thanks t’ me when he was here the first time. Time and time again, he would trash other guys like these two, who by the way have more talent in their small toes than he does in his whole body. It wasn’t until a couple o’ weeks back when I went back t’ Canada and watched a local show that I saw two incredibly talented wrestlers that reminded me of myself when I was that little bit younger. I went back t’ talk with the guys after the show, and that’s when Petey and Johnny here told me all about how Christian acted like he was some kind of diva t’ get whatever the hell he wanted. They lost their jobs because the good brother as he puts it took a dislike t’ them, and they made it clear t’ me that they have unfinished business with him. And since he’s been acting like he’s the good guy in all this, I thought it was about time he got a reality check, and boy he got exactly that last week. . . See, he has t’ remember that at the end of the day, he started all this, and if he wanted a war Josh, he’s sure as hell got one.

Edge stares right at Josh with Williams & Devine smirking behind him before they all turn round and walk out of the picture.

Johnny Jeter’s mother is waiting outside his locker room and knocks on the door.

Johnny’s Mum:
Johnny, are you nearly ready? We need to get going if we want something to eat.

The door is opened and Jeter (Johnny) walks out with his travel bag.

Johnny Jeter:
Alright, I’m ready. Let’s go mum.

Johnny’s Mum: I have to say Johnny, you made me proud t’night. Maybe I should come and watch you more often if it helps you win your matches.

Johnny Jeter: We’ll see about that alright. Let’s just go get a bite to eat.

They then walk up the hall, but another door opens and out walks Michael Shane. Jeter smirks with the win earlier firmly in mind while his mother seems to be quite taken with the Cruiserweight Champion, smiling at him and trying to make eye contact. Shane clicks on to it and smiles back, but Jeter’s unaware of it.

Johnny Jeter:
Look who we have here mum. You might know him as the guy I beat. . . sorry dominated out there in my match earlier. . . So, you got anythin’ smart t’ say to me now champ? I guess not.

Michael Shane: No, just not anything I could possibly say in front of your mum. I’ve gotta say though, it’s nice that you’ve come t’ support your son though Mrs. Jeter. (Grinning) I think that's really sweet.

Johnny’s Mum: Why, thank you. It’s nice you see it that way. Johnny was a little embarrassed weren’t you Johnny?

He looks slightly embarrassed now, and Shane cottons on to that too.

Michael Shane:
Oh really? Come on Johnny, it’s a parent’s job t’ look out for their kids and support them in what they do. You should be happy she cares so much.

Johnny’s Mum: Thank you. . . Sorry, I didn’t catch your name honey.

Michael Shane: Michael. . . Michael Shane, and the resident Cruiserweight Champion might I add.

Johnny’s Mum: Well it’s nice to meet you Michael. You can call me Louisa.

Jeter looks very confused as Shane & his mum look and smile at each other. Louisa then looks at the Cruiserweight title belt on his shoulder and smiles before stroking it.

Johnny’s Mum:
You don’t mind me touching your trophy do you Michael?

Michael Shane: No, not at all.

Shane is all smiles, but Jeter is steaming.

Johnny Jeter:
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOIN’?

Johnny’s Mum: What’s the problem? . . . Is it because you don’t have one of these?

Johnny Jeter: What’s my problem? Maybe it’s my newly separated mother flirting with the first guy she meets.

Johnny’s Mum: Oh come on Johnny. . . I’m sorry Michael, he’s always had a temper.

Michael Shane: Yeah I’ve noticed. It’s a good thing you’re here t’ keep him in check.

Johnny Jeter: I’ve had enough of this. I’m out o’ here.

Jeter storms off, but his mum stays standing alongside Shane as they continue to smile at each other. Johnny turns back and looks irate.

Johnny Jeter:
Are you comin’ or what?

Johnny’s Mum: . . . Well.

Michael Shane: Wait, I’ve got an idea. He’s clearly not gonna be good company t’night. How about I take you out for somethin’ to eat instead? It’s gotta be better than arguin’ with him all night.

Johnny Jeter: Whoa, no way.

Louisa turns and looks at her son.

Johnny’s Mum:
Sorry Johnny, he’s right. . . (Turns back to Shane) What do you have in mind?

Michael Shane: You leave that t’ me.

Johnny’s Mum: Oh, do you have a surprise for me Michael?

Michael Shane: Follow me and find out.

Shane then walks past a livid Jeter and smirks at him with Louisa following.

Johnny’s Mum:
Sorry Johnny. I’ll speak t’ you soon.

Shane & Louisa walk up the hall laughing as an incensed Jeter stares right at them, mumbling.

Johnny Jeter:
If you so much as touch her, you’re gonna be sorry I swear.

All five divas make their entrances, and just as the match is about to start, Tazz walks out to the stage, taking everyone by surprise.

Tazz:
Whoa, I jus’ need ya t’ hold on for one more second. . . Last week ladies, I forgot t’ tell y’the whole picture. . . Not only did I come up with the idea t’ introduce an exclusive divas title t’ Smackdown, I made a quick phone call to an old friend of mine who put me in touch with one of the hottest free agents in the business. . . Not only is she the one of the greatest and hottest female wrestlers in the world today, she also happens to be a former WWE Women’s Champion. . . With that said, I give t’ you, participant number six in the WWE Divas Championship Elimination Series. . . GAIL KIM.

*Big Pop*

“Unstoppable” hits to a big cheer inside the arena as Gail Kim makes her way out to the stage to the shock of all the women in the ring. Tazz is clapping her arrival as she walks to both sides of the stage and poses for the fans. She walks back to the centre and shakes hands with Tazz before walking down to the ring with a big smile on her face, not bothered at all as the rest of the divas stare at her. Beth Phoenix & Mia Rain turn back and glare at each other in the process as Gail enters the ring and climbs up to the second rope, posing for the crowd once more.

***Match #4***

WWE Divas Championship
Elimination Series – Match #1
Mickie James vs Gail Kim vs Maria vs Michelle McCool vs Beth Phoenix vs Mia Rain

Rules of the Series
* The diva that loses the match (is pinned, counted out, disqualified or made to tap out) will be eliminated from the series
* The remaining divas except the winner will compete next week under the same rules until just two are left
* The diva that wins the fall will be free from competing in the next match, earning themselves a bye

ENDING: With Maria lying on the mat along with McCool, Mickie takes the fight to Beth while Gail fights back against Rain. Kim hits her with a forearm, working her way out of the corner in the process. She then takes Mia by surprise, hitting her with a dropkick to the stomach that sends her to her knees. Gail hurries back up and steps back in to the corner to climb up to the second rope. As Rain stands up, she dives off for a CROSS BODY!!. . . . . She hits it too and falls on top of Mia as the ref makes the cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No! Rain kicks out, and as both she and Gail take a little breather, The Glamazon looks to put a hurting on Mickie, whipping her in to the ropes and hitting her with a double axe handle blow to the chest. Mickie rolls across the mat as Beth then sees Gail standing back up, and turns her attention to the surprise entrant in the match. She spins her round and hits a forearm to the face, putting Gail on the back foot. She then pulls Kim’s head under her arm, then lifts her vertically up in to the air and walks over to the ropes, lowers Kim’s feet on to the ropes before falling back and connecting with a SLINGSHOT SUPLEX!!. . . . . It looks like there could be trouble for Kim as Phoenix goes for the cover right away. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No!! Kim gets her shoulder up, but just, and as Beth stands back up, so does Rain behind her, and they turn to face each other with a great deal of tension. McCool, Maria & Mickie all sit up and see them just explode with a series of blows at each other, and it’s Beth who comes out on top. She forces Rain back and then grabs her arm to whip her in to the ropes, and as she comes flying back, Beth plants her with a SIDEWALK SLAM!!. . . . . Rain’s back is driven in to the mat, and The Glamazon quickly hooks the leg to try and eliminate Rain from the series with the ref making the count. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No!

Rain gets her shoulder up as Mickie, Maria & McCool all stand up and nod at each other. They then run over at Beth and put the boots to her, stomping the hell out of her to a big pop from the fans. They then step back and allow the hurt Glamazon to struggle to her feet, and she back tracks to the ropes for support, only for Maria & Mickie to run right at her and clothesline her over the top to the floor below. That gets a big pop, and they then turn round to see Rain struggling to her feet. As Rain then stands up, she sees she’s in trouble as Maria & Mickie run at her and clothesline her too, sending her down to the mat. As she returns to her feet, McCool steps in and takes her down with a dropkick. Mickie, McCool and Maria high five, and as Rain gets up once again, Mickie runs back in to the ropes, but Beth is up and pulls her to the outside before tossing her in to the steel steps. The fans don’t like that, and as McCool & Maria look on, it allows Rain to kick McCool in the gut and then hit Maria with a right hand, sending her to the canvas. Mia then kicks McCool once again before running past her in to the ropes and running back to hit a RUNNING BULLDOG. . . . . Just as she’s about to go for a cover, Beth pulls her up to her feet and tries to scoop her up, but Mia jumps down straight away and slips behind Beth. She then pulls Beth’s head back and plants her with the RAIN DROP!! (Falling Reverse DDT). . . . . Beth rolls the short distance to the apron and under the bottom rope, and as Rain turns back round in f...tration, Gail Kim jumps through the sky and connects with a MISSILE DROPKICK. . . . . The shell shocked Rain rolls to the ropes too as Gail stands back up, along with Maria, and as the innocent diva turns round, Gail drills her with a right forearm and hits her finisher, EAT DEFEAT!!! (Inverted Stomp Face breaker). . . . . Maria is helpless as she lies across the mat with Gail following up for the cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3.

WINNER: Gail Kim by pinfall @ 7.51.

AFTERMATH: “Unstoppable” plays as a slightly shocked but delighted Kim stands back up and gets her arm raised by the referee. She walks in to the corner and climbs up to celebrate on the second rope before stepping down and leaving to a pop as Mickie comes round on the outside, looking confused, as do Rain & McCool on the inside. Kim carries on walking up the ramp, slapping hands with the fans and then turning round at the top of the stage with a big smile on her face.

ELIMINATED FROM THE SERIES: Maria.

An all smiling CM Punk is walking through the hall with his travel bag in tow and the World Championship on his other shoulder when he gets to his locker room door. He stops and opens the door, and he looks shocked to see Chris Jericho sitting there. Still dressed in his suit, Jericho stands up as Punk walks in to the room.

Chris Jericho:
Well judging by the time it’s taken you to get here and that stupid look on your face, you’re must be very proud of yourself for managing to hold on to that world title of yours Sunday night. But if I were you, I’d forget all about that and think back to how you walked out on me last week, leaving me t’ fight your battles for you. . . You might be able t’ get on the wrong side of someone like MVP and a washed up has been like Shawn Michaels, but it’s not wise t’ get on the wrong side of Chris Jericho. . . You might be surprised t’ hear that later on t’night, we’re gonna have a match in front of all those people who hate both our guts, and like me, I know you don’t care about those hypocrites. What you should care about though is doing whatever you can to survive t’night, because if you don’t, your brief reign as World Heavyweight Champion will come to an abrupt end. Then maybe you’ll learn that no one crosses Chris Jericho.

Jericho & Punk stare in to each other’s eyes, and Jericho then walks past Punk, but Punk turns round.

CM Punk:
Actually Chris, I know all about our match t’night.

Jericho turns around with Punk looking very confident.

CM Punk:
I also heard all about how you pretty much trashed me out there too.

Chris Jericho: I meant every word I said.

CM Punk: I don’t doubt that Chris, but you’ve gotta realise one thing. You’re talkin’ like you’ve already won the world title, but let me tell y’somethin’. You and those idiots out there might not like how I won the title or the fact I am the World Heavyweight Champion. The fact is you, Tazz, those people have all gotta deal with it. If you don’t like it, fine, I ain’t got a problem wit’ that. However I won the title and whether you agree with it or not. . .

Chris Jericho: . . . I don’t.

CM Punk: Fine, that’s your choice, but that was just one match. I did what I had t’ do, and was perfectly allowed t’ do that one time, but right now, it’s different. I beat MVP Sunday night at the King of the Ring, just like I’m gonna beat you and anyone else who tries t’ take this away from me. . . Shawn Michaels thought the exact same as you and those idiots that he’d get the title back just like that, but he didn’t did he, and why? ‘Cause I put it him on the shelf, and not in the same way you put The Undertaker out. I didn’t need t’ jump Shawn from behind, I just beat him in the middle of the ring and proved a point that everyone needs to come t’ terms with. I’m the World Champion and that’s the way it’s stayin’ for a long time.

Chris Jericho: We’ll soon see about that.

The two men stare intensely at each other for several seconds before Jericho turns round and walks out of the room with Punk then sn-iggering as he does so.

{Cut to Ringside}

Michael Cole: During the break folks, we received word that Tazz has made a huge match for the debut edition of Superstars t’morrow night that will see Shelton Benjamin defend his United States Championship against Matt Hardy in a WrestleMania rematch. . . If you recall, it was Matt Hardy that not only defeated Shelton Benjamin that night, but he retained the title that belonged to him at the time, until CM Punk cost him the gold just five nights later against The Gold Standard here on Smackdown. . . We also know that Raw’s World Tag Team Champions, John Morrison and The Miz are going to be there. It sure promises to be one hell of a show t’morrow on Superstars, live on WGN America at 5pm central. Whatever you do, make sure you don’t miss it.

“If You Close Your Eyes” hits to a big inside the arena as a more serious Christian walks down to the ring, dressed in his ring gear and with Tomko by his side. He picks a microphone up off the steps before then stepping in to the ring.

Christian:
I’m sorry for all o’ my peeps here t’night in Dayton, Ohio, but there’s not gonna be any jokes or cheap shots, ‘cause as my big brother said earlier, last week he got one over on me. Hands up, he got me, but I’m not gonna sit back and feel sorry for myself like someone I could mention and sit on the sidelines. He might ‘ave outsmarted me last week, but in fairness I’ve never spoken about being the one t’ have the brains in the family, but what I do have Adam is the balls t’ come out here and call your ass out, right here right now.

*Big Pop*

Christian: We all know you’re not injured now, so you’ve got no excuse. Bring your sorry ass out here before me and the problem solver come back there and do things the hard way.

Christian walks over to the ropes and motions for his brother to come out, and after a couple of seconds, “Metalingus” blasts out to a cho... of deafening boos as Edge, Petey Williams & Johnny Devine walk out to the stage. Edge has a microphone in hand, and after a good five seconds of looking down and grinning at his brother, his music cuts.

Edge:
Whoa, C, is there something wrong? Just it seems t’ me you’ve lost that smile you had only last week. I guess it just goes t’ show that you should never underestimate me, but what it does show is that you never learn. All the time growing up, you knew who the smart one out of the two of us was, but looking at you right now bro’, I can see you know full well that you’ll never underestimate me again. That’s not t’ say I won’t outsmart you like that again, ‘cause let’s face it, it’s not difficult. Y’have t’ learn that I’m not just the older brother, I’m the intelligent one, the devious one, the one who’s always one step ahead and lays down the law. That’s why you can forget about getting your dirty little hands on me t’night, but I’m gonna lay down a challenge for your bro’, just for fun. But, and it’s a big but C, I’m gonna make it worth your while. See what I have in mind is this. Since you look like you’re good t’ go, along with these two men you know, we’re gonna have ourselves a handicap match.

Christian: A handicap match?

Edge: That’s right. It’s good t’ see something’s register for a change. But like I said, we can cut a deal. See, if you can beat Petey and Johnny t’night, I’ll give you what y’want right here next week. . . me and you one on one.

Christian’s grins, leaning against the ropes.

Christian:
Me an’ you?

Edge: Just like you wanted.

Christian: And all I have t’ do is beat those two pipsqueaks?

Edge: I wouldn’t call them pipsqueaks, but that’s right. You beat them and you got your match.

Christian ponders it for a couple of seconds and then backs away from the ropes.

Christian:
Alright, you got yourself a deal.

*Big Pop*

Christian drops the microphone and takes off his jacket and bottoms as Edge, Petey & Devine walk down the ramp smiling.

***Match #5***

1 on 2 Handicap Match
Christian
w/Tyson Tomko vs Petey Williams & Johnny Devine w/Edge

ENDING: Devine makes his way back up with a very intense Christian urging him to do so as Edge watches on closely, looking slightly concerned. Devine turns round in to a right hand from Captain Charisma, and he follows up with another, then turns back to run the ropes, but as he runs back, Devine cracks him out of nowhere with an ENZIGURI!!. . . . . The fans look stunned, but Edge & Petey are delighted as Devine scurries across the mat and hooks both legs for a cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No!! Christian manages to get his shoulder up to the relief of the crowd and the absolute amazement of Edge on the outside. Devine sits up in shock, staring at the referee, who just points out it was a two count. The very groggy Christian starts to stir, and that gets Devine going again. He stands up and looks ready to explode as Christian slowly makes it up to his knees, and as he tries to get to his feet, Devine turns back to run the ropes, runs back and in to kick to the gut. Captain Charisma then lifts him on to his shoulders before bringing him crashing down in to a FIREMAN’S CARRY GUT BUSTER!!. . . . . . Devine rolls around holding his stomach with Christian leaning forward to make a cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No, kick out! Devine gets his shoulder at the last second, but barely. Edge shouts out words of encouragement to Devine, who sits up with Christian turning round to look over at his brother on the outside. They give each other dirty looks, and Devine pulls himself up Christian’s body. This gets Christian’s attention, and he quickly turns back and hits his opponent with a right hand, and then another. He then turns back and runs in to the ropes, but Williams steps across the apron and kicks him in the back.

Christian turns round furiously and tries a wild swing, but Petey leans back with the ref walking over and warning him, and as Christian turns round, Devine runs at him and connects with a side elbow smash. He then makes the tag to Petey as Tomko yells furiously at the referee. Petey puts the boots to his fellow Canadian, and he then helps him up to his knees, turns back in to the ropes, runs back and dropkicks Christian in the side of the head. That brings a clap from Edge, who watches on as Petey turns Christian on to his back and goes for a cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No! Christian kicks out reasonably comfortably, but he doesn’t look comfortable as he tries to sit up, looking very dazed indeed. Edge shouts out some instructions to Petey, and he pulls Christian away from the ropes, then tries to apply the SHARPSHOOTER!. . . . . Christian tries to fight it with Petey desperately trying to lock the hold in, but Christian manages to win the struggle with one big push of the legs, sending Petey down on his back. They both try and get to their feet, and it’s Petey who’s up first, but as he runs at his opponent, Christian ducks under his arm and tries to pull him in to position for the KILLSWITCH!!. . . . . Devine panics and tries to get in to the ring straight away. The ref runs across and tries to get him out of the ring, and Christian lets the hold go with Tomko now rising on to the apron to. Christian turns round and nails Devine off the apron while the ref then goes over to Tomko, and with his back turned, Edge slips inside the ring, and as Christian turns round, Edge runs at him and HITS THE SPEAR!!. . . . . The fans boo like crazy as Edge flees the ring while Petey ...hes over to make the cover and shouts the ref to count the fall. He turns round and runs across to make the count. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3.

WINNERS: Petey Williams & Johnny Devine by pinfall @ 6.18.

AFTERMATH: “Metalingus” plays again as Petey quickly slips out of the ring with Tomko entering and trying to get at him. Edge reaches inside and helps pull Petey out while Devine stands back up alongside him. Tomko walks over to the ropes and stares down at Edge, who just smiles right back at him with Christian starting to come round. Edge then lifts both Devine & Petey’s arms up in to the air in recognition of their victory, and as Christian sits up and looks across, he clearly isn’t happy, but Edge just laughs as he then backs away from the ring along with Petey & Devine.

Non-Title Match
CM Punk vs Chris Jericho

ENDING:
In what’s been a really competitive match, Jericho makes his way back up to his feet with Punk following closely. Both men turn to face each other, and Jericho hits the first shot, a backhand chop to the chest, followed by another to put Punk on the back foot. Jericho grabs Punk’s wrist and whips the World Champion in to the ropes, and as he comes back, Jericho jumps up off the mat and connects with a SPINNING WHEEL KICK. . . . . The World Champ drops to the mat, and Jericho ...hes across the mat on his knees to make a cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No! Punk kicks out, but Jericho isn’t done by any means. He looks incredibly focused as he stands back up and yells at Punk to get up, who sits up and rolls on to one knee. Jericho decides he can’t wait any longer and pulls Punk up to his knees, trying to get him in to a double underhook grip, but Punk pulls back and unleashes a series of martial arts kick to the body of Jericho. Punk then turns back and runs the ropes, races back and runs in to a standing clothesline from Jericho. The World Champion isn’t down for long and tries to stand up right away, but Jericho runs past him before he gets to his feet and comes back off the ropes to send Punk right back down with a ONE ARM BULLDOG. . . . .

It’s met by a mixture of both cheers and boos from the crowd as Jericho returns to his feet and looks disapprovingly in to the crowd with Punk lying on his back, just off centre of the ring as Jericho then steps over him and runs in to the ropes and springboards to hit the LIONSAULT!!. . . . . Again, a mixed reception meets Jericho’s actions, but he tries for another cover on Punk, hooking both legs. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No! Punk just lifts his shoulder up off the mat at the last second to the astonishment of Jericho, who pulls himself back up to his knees and stares at the referee, but he gets confirmation of the two count. Punk starts to come round and crawls across to the ropes as the f...trated Jericho stands back up and stalks the World Champion. Punk uses the ropes to help him up, but Jericho reacts by walking over, and as Punk turns round, Jericho grabs Punk by the head and looks to hit the CODEBREAKER!!!. . . . . No, Punk holds on to the top rope and Jericho hits the deck. Punk reaches down and lifts Jericho’s legs up, then flips over and holds on to them for a cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No! Jericho kicks out, and both men ...h back up to their feet, and as Jericho turns round, Punk takes his head off with a ROUNDHOUSE KICK. . . . .

Jericho’s legs fall from under him, and he just collapses to the mat with Punk following to make a cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No, Jericho manages to get his foot on the bottom rope to the f...tration of Punk this time, prompting another mixed reception from the fans. Jericho looks very groggy as he comes round by the ropes and tries to sit up. Punk returns to his feet and appears to be quite composed as he watches Jericho using the ropes to stand back up and steady himself. The World Champion remains calm, and as Jericho walks away from the ropes and in to his direction, he ducks down and lifts Jericho on to his shoulders for the GO TO SLEEP!!!. . . . . Both boos and cheers ring round the arena, but Jericho fights back by driving his elbow in to Punk’s head and manages to break free, slipping down Punk’s back. As the World Champion then turns round, Jericho jumps up and nails him with one hell of an ENZIGURI!!. . . . . Gasps echo around the Nutter Center as Jericho then scurries across the mat and turns Punk on to his back before hooking the leg for the cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No, so close! Punk just, and only just gets his shoulder up to the absolute amazement of Chris Jericho. He sits up and looks down in shock with the ref signalling the three count, but anger quickly takes over as he then picks himself back up and walks round to Punk’s legs. He lifts them up and turns him over on to his back for the WALLS OF JERICHO. . . . .

A mixture of cheers and boos break out again as an intense as hell Jericho applies a ton of pressure to the back of the World Heavyweight Champion, who screams out in pain, but ignores the referee’s question of if he wants to quit. He fights the hold bravely with Jericho shouting out for him to give it up as he tries to earn himself another match with Punk, but with the title up for grabs. Punk continues to hold on, and despite Jericho’s determination to keep the hold locked in, the World Champion somehow manages to drag himself towards the ropes, starting to worry Jericho. He holds on for dear life, but Punk drags himself closer and closer, and he reaches out with the bottom rope within touching distance, and he gets there. That’s met differently by the crowd, but the arena’s hot as Jericho is forced to release the hold, which he does ever so reluctantly. He throws a strop at the referee as he stands up while Punk recovers by the ropes. Jericho then backs away from him and urges him up once again, setting his sights on a World Championship match, but as Punk sits up, the lights go out and a gong hits. The crowd goes nuts, and after about five seconds, the lights come back on to a huge roar with The Undertaker standing behind Jericho. The Canadian looks round nervously from side to side, but as he turns round to see the dead man, his jaw drops. The Undertaker then grabs him by the throat and lifts him up off his feet and in to the air, then sends him crashing down to the mat with a ferocious CHOKESLAM!!!. . . . . The referee is left with no choice but to call for the bell, awarding the match to Jericho by disqualification.

WINNER: Chris Jericho by DQ @ 9.29.

AFTERMATH: Everyone is on their feet cheering as Taker stares down at Jericho, flat on his back and eyes wide shut in the middle of the ring. On his knees and watching on from by the ropes, Punk looks stunned to see Taker there and his opponent laid out, but Taker’s eyes then turn to him. The panic is written all over the face of the World Champion, and as Taker steps across the ring, Punk pulls himself under the bottom rope and to the outside. He keeps his eyes locked on the dead man as he walks round to collect his title belt with Taker looking down intensely at Jericho, who’s still out of it. Punk walks to the ramp with his title belt and turns back to face the ring, still confused as he backs up the ramp with Taker looking up at him for a couple of seconds as “Deadman’s Symphony” hits to a huge pop. Taker looks down once again at the sight of the fallen Chris Jericho as Smackdown comes to a close.

>Jeff Gets A Second Chance!<

Monday night’s Raw saw Eric Bischoff announce a Battle Royal to crown a number one contender for the WWE Championship, with the winner facing “The Big Red Machine” Kane at Vengeance.

Just 24 hours after pushing the WWE Champion to his limits, Jeff Hardy earned himself another crack at Kane and the gold that he came so close to winning at the King of the Ring night before by emerging victorious in the highly controversial match that saw Triple H and Batista nearly come to blows after The Game eliminated his Evolution team mate.

Despite that, it was Jeff that was the last man standing. Will it be the same story come Vengeance in just over a week’s time?

>Time Up For The Champs?<

John Morrison & The Miz have had their run ins with numerous people over the past few months, but it’s been Cryme Time that have really got under their skin as of late.

That continued on Raw this week, and it led to Eric Bischoff setting up a match between them at Vengeance with the World Tag Team titles being put up for grabs. Morrison & Miz were able to escape unharmed and victorious on Monday night after Shad & JTG stole some of their belongings, giving them to Eugene & Goldust for a fashion parade.

Morrison defeated Goldust to reclaim their belongings, but will they be able to hold on to their titles when they meet their rivals at Vengeance?

>The Final Encounter<

Unlike their Raw counterparts, Smackdown’s WWE Tag Team Champions, The UK Pack have had their hands full with just two men in recent months, but that will all come to an end at The Great American Bash.

Eight days ago on Smackdown, we saw Chris Masters take a steel chair to the already broken wrist of Paul Burchill after Harry Smith defeated The Masterpiece’s tag team partner, Charlie Haas in singles action thanks to Masters getting his partner disqualified. Burchill then tried to come to his own partner’s aid, only to have his skull battered by The Masterpiece. Burchill was then subjected to several vicious shots from the chair by Masters, and we saw Tazz ban all four men from the arena last night to ensure there would be no repeat of that incident.

We did learn however that he has signed a match he’s calling “The Final Encounter” for Smackdown’s next brand exclusive pay-per-view that will see the bitter rivals compete for the gold one last time. Just who will come out on top and leave as the premier team of Friday nights?

FlyinStyles Smackdown Review

First show after King of the Ring you said it'd be great so I'm looking foward to it..

Opening segment with Bourne was very good, I really liked how Bourne stayed modest and didn't want the crown or anything like that because that would just come off weird to me because it really doesn't fit his character and you showed that I really liked. I thought Shelton was turning face for half a second, then I decided he wasn't. Then he beat up Sydal which I kind of expected. Very good segment though

Taz segemnt, I didn't get the point of Benjamin other then to show that Taz is pissed at him but he's been pissed at him ever since he won the belt so I didn't think it was needed. Master of the Mat vs. UK Pak at GAB, this fued has been built up great, I liked sending them home for the week because it really did more o show they hated eacher then if they stayed and had another matching ending in a DQ. I hope you make the match at GAB no DQ or something..

Johny and his mom? Ok this comedy segment didn't come off as well as the ones with Goldust to me, I think it'd have been better if I could acutally see Johny's mom coming on to the backstage guy but reading it was just kind of weird. I'd love if it she got drunk and cost Johny the match

Nice match with Dutt, I don't know if I really like as face he was way better in his Guru heel gimmick in TNA but that's just me. Show off squash match over Kash was nice, Jamie Noble, woo.. I wonder who Dutt's partner will be to fued with the Pitbulls (Low-Ki anybody??)

Jesus this has a lot of promos more then usual, Jericho is calling out Punk hmm... I see Undertaker getting invovled in the main event but the promo was very good and I just had a possible thought come up, WHC Triple Threat?? Jericho vs. Punk vs. Taker, doubt but teh idea is there. Very good promo you got Jericho down

Good match between Jeter and Shane this fued has acutally been very, very well built. I expected Jeter win just because there was no point in Shane going over, this would've been better if it was longer but it will get time at GAB

A little face diva's meetimg going that's fine, I expected McCool to be the first to go just to give Maria a little cred but maybe not.. Possibly heel turn on Mickie coming??

Chavo and Killings has been well a built fued this segment was very good they kind of brawled which is fine they don't need a full blown brawl right now. I think if Killings cost Chavo at KOTR It'd have been better but Rey didn't need Chavo's help nice segment.

Lashley vs. Swagger was a good match, the ending was good enough a nice heelish tatic for Swagger to stay unbeaten, I'm guessing Lashley will try to beat Swagger unbeaten streat at GAB which should be good, overall though the match was good the ending made sense, nothing to complain about

Edge segment was good I liked the all-Canadian faction it's cool, Edge was very good and in character as always. It seems like you have Canadian guys down on the mic with Edge and Jericho

Another Johny and his mom segment by the way this 'mum' term is kind of annoying because in the states we say mom but I guess it's a Britan thing. Oh well any way this one was better Johny's mom wasn't as over the top this time which really made it better. This fued is coming along really, really well it's defanately in the top things on Smackdown

Gail Kim really?? I'm not a fan of this yes it's adds to the fued in stuff but on Raw you have like no Diva's division and it's the same three people and it's getting kind of stale I thik she was more needed over there.

The Diva's match was good Gail had to get the pin to make return dramtic, is she a heel? I guess we'll have to wait and find out. I expected Maria to down after you teased the McCool turn

Punk and Jericho confromation was there it build up this mini-fued which I still think it's to but over Taker's return but who knows? Where's MVP and Matt Hardy?

Speak of the devil Matt Hardy will challenge Shelton for the US Title on Superstars I see Shelton winning just because I think Matt is in for a main event push sooner then later but Superstars is looking good

Christian and Edge segment, I think this show is going over two hours because you usually don't have this many promos but you have the same amount of matches. I think Christian will win but Edge opprtunistically get out of the match next week.

Good handi-cap match you're really putting over Petey and Devine by putting them with Edge, Edge hits the spear and Petey gets the pins no problems with that.

Straight to the main event I expect another promo that's actaully a pleasent suprise because some of these promos are starting to seem just kind of there like the last Jericho and Punk one.

The main event was good enough, it wasn't your best match but it was still very good I had no problems with it. Taker cost Jericho like I expect even though Jericho techinally won this fued has been built great and I can't wait for the match whether or not it is one-on-one or Punk is invovled it's all good

Overall I enjoyed the show it was better then Raw, I think there may have been one to many promos but all the match were good. Either Lashley-Swagger or Jeter-Shane was the best. But it was really good I'm defanately looking foward to GAB more then Vengenace just becase your Smackdown is better then your Raw. Overall I'll say 8.5/10

WWE Superstars Preview“The Return Edition”
Saturday 21st June 2008
Ocean Center, Daytona Beach, Florida

It’s Back!
After more than seven years, “WWE Superstars” returns to your screens this weekend, live only on WGN America at 5pm central with both the stars of Raw & Smackdown appearing. The show that premiered in 1986 and featured such names as Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant and many more is back, bringing today’s superstars in to your homes for a further hour every Saturday night.

Flo Rida In The House
WWE.com brought you the news first several weeks back, that Florida native, Flo Rida will be appearing on the return edition of Superstars to perform his next music single, “In The Ayer” live for the first time. He will be joined by will.i.am & Tiffany Villarreal for the special performance that you’d be made to miss after the success of his previous track, “Elevator”.

Wrestlemania Rematch & Gold Up For Grabs
We found out on Smackdown this week that Tazz has signed a WrestleMania rematch between Matt Hardy and the current champion, Shelton Benjamin for this huge edition of Superstars. The duo brought the house down at the Cit... Bowl back in March when Matt emerged victorious and as the United States Champion. He’ll be looking to do so again when he takes on the runner-up from the King of the Ring last weekend. There’s a chance The Gold Standard could be distracted given that defeat and his heinous attack on Matt Sydal on Smackdown. Will that present the chance for lightning to strike twice and leave Florida as the United States Champion, just like he did on the biggest stage of them all?

World Tag Team Champions In The House
John Morrison & The Miz consider themselves big stars, and they were told by Raw General Manager, Eric Bischoff this past Monday, that they would be attending the highly anticipated edition of Superstars this week. Just what does the Raw GM have in mind for his World Tag Team Champions? They found out that they will be defending their titles against Cryme Time at Vengeance next weekend, and with The Miz picking up a victory over Goldust last Monday night, they’ll be looking to keeping their momentum going.

***Video Recap***
From Raw Last Monday Night

The Battle Royal to determine who will face Kane at Vengeance for the WWE Championship, coming down to Jeff Hardy, Batista, Triple H, Ric Flair & The Big Show, ending in Jeff Hardy eliminating an angry Triple H, leading to an argument with his Evolution team mate, Batista. Kane’s arrival to stare down Jeff from the top of the stage is then highlighted from the end of the show.

{Cut to Ringside}

“Ain’t No Make Believe” hits to heat from the crowd as John Morrison & The Miz, the World Tag Team Champions make their way down to the ring in a relatively good mood. Morrison collects a microphone from Lilian Garcia and stands in the centre of the ring alongside his partner.

John Morrison: Unlike the ‘Z’ list performers you saw before the commercials, we have been sent here t’ mark this first edition of WWE Superstars by doing what they were paid over the odds t’ do in entertaining all of you. However, unlike them, we will deliver as we always do.

*Heat*

John Morrison: That is exactly why your opinion counts for nothing. We might question the decision making of Eric Bischoff every now and again, but he knew that to attract an audience to this show, he needed the very best the business has to offer, and that’s what you’re looking at right now.

*Boos*

The Miz nods along as Morrison takes a short breather.

John Morrison: Now we have the attention of the watching world, we’re not only going to entertain you like only we can, but we’re here to send the duo known as Cryme Time a very strong message. . . We’re not here to be made a mockery of, and once we’re finished making an example of just whoever our general manager has lined up for us, we’re going to show you first hand at Vengeance just why we are the World Tag Team Champions and that the joke is going t’ be on you.

Morrison smiles with Miz nodding his head and chuckling. He walks over to Lilian and hands over the microphone. Then “Gold Lust” plays to a big pop inside the arena as Goldust & Eugene walk down the aisle with Eugene looking amazed at the lights and the music as he walks. Morrison & Miz look on confidently from the ring and laugh as Goldust & Eugene then step inside. Just as Goldust takes off his robe and the match is about to start, “Bringin’ Da Hood To You” hits to a big pop with Cryme Time walking in to the arena. They walk down the aisle and slap hands with the fans before settling at ringside in the corner of Goldust & Eugene and showing them their support. The tag champs don’t look best pleased by their presence.

***The Opening Match***

Non Title Match
Goldust & Eugene
w/Cryme Time vs John Morrison & The Miz

Ending: Morrison is control of Goldust, and having just taken him down to the mat courtesy of a spinning wheel kick, the Shaman of Sexy picks himself back up and stands over his opponent’s body before jumping up off the mat and hitting a STANDING SHOOTING STAR PRESS!!. . . . . He lands right on Goldie’s chest and reaches to the side immediately, hooking his leg for a cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No, Goldust gets his shoulder up to the f...tration of Morrison. He stands back up, looking eager to seal the deal as Goldust makes his way up to his feet. Morrison lies in wait, and as Goldust turns round, Morrison directs his boot towards Goldust’s face. Goldie sees it coming and ducks it, and as both men turn round to face each other, Goldust is the first to react and takes him down with a spinning neckbreaker to the delight of the crowd and Cryme Time. Shad & JTG jump up on the outside and throw their hands up with Eugene also jumping up and down, but on the apron as he calls for the tag. Goldust & Morrison both try and crawl towards their respective corners, and The Miz yells out for a tag too, clearly determined to get in the ring.

Goldust makes the tag first, and Eugene races in to the ring, just as Morrison tags The Miz, who climbs through the ropes and runs in to a clothesline from Eugene. He ...hes back up but walks right in to Eugene’s path and an INSIDE CRADLE. . . . . . . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No! The Miz kicks out, and both men are right back up with Eugene striking first, kicking Miz in the stomach and setting him up for the STUNNER!. . . . . The crowd all cheer, but Miz fights back, pushing Eugene forward in to the ropes. Eugene hits the ropes and holds on to them, forcing Miz to run at him and right in to a boot to the face that sends him staggering away holding his face. Eugene waits for his opponent to turn round, and then runs at him, but The Miz reacts well to nail Eugene with a DISCUS PUNCH!. . . . . Boos ring out as Eugene hits the mat with The Miz following to make a cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No! Eugene gets his shoulder up, and this time The Miz flips out like his partner did before. He stands back up and turns round to run at Goldust and knock him off the apron with a right hand. The crowd boo that, but he soaks it up as he walks back over to Eugene and pulls him up from his knees.

He takes his time in setting him up for the MIZARD OF OZ (Wristlock Swinging Reverse DDT). . . . . Eugene manages to break free, pulling his head back, and as The Miz turns round desperately, Eugene kicks him in the gut and hits the STUNNER!!!. . . . . Huge roars break out in the arena as Eugene drops scurries across the mat to make the cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No, Morrison races in to the ring and stomps across Eugene’s back to break up the count to the anger of the fans. Shad & JTG go nuts too, but as the ref stands up and tells Morrison to get out of the ring, Goldust slips back inside and runs right at him, taking him over the top to the outside. The ref then has a word with him, both with their back to the action as Eugene & The Miz struggle to their feet. Shad & JTG then enter the ring, and Shad lifts The Miz on to his shoulders with JTG then hitting a FRONT FLIP NECKBREAKER FOR THE G9. . . . . The crowd goes wild as Cryme Time hurry out of the ring with Goldust stepping through the ropes and hitting Morrison with a double axe handle, leaving Eugene all alone in the ring. He looks down and sees The Miz out of it with Shad & JTG screaming at him to make the cover, which he does as the ref turns round and runs across to make the count. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3.

Winners: Goldust & Eugene by pinfall @ 6.39.

Aftermath: “Child’s Play” hits to a big pop with Shad & JTG joining Eugene in the ring to raise his hand in victory. Goldust slips back inside and joins them as all four then lift their arms in to the air in a chain, which goes down well with the Florida faithful. Morrison sits up on the outside, and he looks angry. They all turn and look at him with Cryme Time laughing, really infuriating Morrison.

***Video Recap***
From the King of the Ring & Smackdown Last Night

Matt Sydal’s victory over Shelton Benjamin in the King of the Ring final last Sunday, thanks to the Shooting Star Press, followed by the celebrations and the angry look from Benjamin.

Last night’s Smackdown, and Sydal being introduced by Josh Matthews as the 2008 WWE King of the Ring, getting a grand ovation from the crowd. The video comments made by Shelton from his home earlier in the week are then shown, saying he can’t get his head round how he lost and that he’ll be taking some time out until he understands what happened.

Sydal being crowned by Josh is then shown, followed by Shelton’s brutal attack from behind with the sceptre on Sydal and the EMTs coming down to check over on the King of the Ring.

{Cut Backstage}

Josh Matthews is in the locker room with Matt Hardy.

Josh Matthews: Matt, later on t’night, you will be competing in a WrestleMania rematch against Shelton Benjamin for the United States Championship. However, this time, you will be the challenger. How are you feeling going in t’ the match?

Matt Hardy: Well Josh, I’m looking forward to it very much. . . See, I never got a rematch after CM Punk cost me the title later that week, but that changes t’night, ‘cause finally I have the chance t’ take back what should still be mine, and I’m gonna do everythin’ it takes t’ get it back.

Josh Matthews: Now I guess like everyone else, you saw the despicable attack on Matt Sydal by your opponent t’night on Smackdown last night. What are your thoughts on his actions?

Matt Hardy: On one hand, I couldn’t believe what I was seein', but I know how desperate Shelton Benjamin is. I found that out for myself before WrestleMania, but he can have no excuses for what he did. It was wrong Josh and goes against everythin' this business stands for. But t’night, I get t' show him first hand how y’should take care of business, out there in the ring. . . My surname might not be Sydal, but Shelton’s gonna have a whole world of problems with another Matt when I beat him t’ become the United States Champion one more time.

Josh Matthews: Good luck Matt. Thanks for your time.

Matt grins as Josh turns to face the camera and smiles, with the shot then fading out.

{Cut to Ringside}

“I Am Perfection” plays as a ripped figure with blonde hair swept back walks down to the ring looking very pleased with himself. Once inside the ring, he borrows the microphone from Lilian Garcia. He looks in to the crowd for several seconds before starting to address the fans.

?: Hi, I’m Dolph Ziggler.

*Boos*

Dolph Ziggler: You might not know me right now, but in just a matter of minutes, you’ll know exactly who I am. . . The reason I’m here t’night is quite simple. It’s not entirely coincidental that this is my first night in the WWE. All you have t’ do is look at the title of this show t’ see why t’night was chosen for the definition of perfection t’ show the entire world why I’m the most highly valued superstar in the world today.

*Heat*

Dolph Ziggler: The fact is I’ve had huge offers from the WWE and all the top companies across the globe to showcase my endless talent, but only the WWE measures up to Dolph Ziggler in terms of name. And as of right now, I have both Eric Bischoff and Tazz begging on their knees for me t’ go to their shows, but as I’ve told them. . . they’re gonna have t’ bring out the big bucks if they want Dolph Ziggler. Until I receive the offer I deserve, I’m gonna show them just why they need me on their show right here on the show they should call ‘Superstar’, because I’m Dolph Ziggler and I’m the only superstar this show and company needs.

Boos ring out, as do chants of “asshole” until “Man In The Box” hits to a pop from the crowd. Tommy Dreamer walks out in to the arena and soaks up the ovation as Ziggler prepares himself for his debut match.

***Match #2***

Tommy Dreamer vs Dolph Ziggler

Ending: Dreamer makes his way back up to his feet with Ziggler lurking, ready to strike. The debutant looks to drill Dreamer with a right hand, but it’s blocked. The ECW legend then hammers away with a series of shots to Ziggler’s skull, forcing him back and up against the ropes. He then grabs his arm and whips him in to the opposite set of ropes. As Ziggler comes back, Dreamer runs out to meet him and nails him with a thunderous clothesline that sends Ziggler down to the mat. He struggles back up and walks right in to Dreamer’s clutches, and Dreamer scoops him off his feet before tossing him back and overhead with a FALLAWAY SLAM!!. . . . . It’s met with a pop as Ziggler rolls around on the mat, clearly in agony as Dreamer then crawls across to make the cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . Ziggler gets his shoulder up, but by the look of him, he could be regretting it. Dreamer stands back up calmly and the reaches down to drag his opponent back up, and he decides to whip him hard in to the corner.

Ziggler hits the pads back first, and Dreamer runs right in at him, but Ziggler turns to the side and drives his elbow in to Dreamer’s face. That sends him back pedalling, and it allows Dreamer to climb up to the second rope. With Dreamer leaning forward, Ziggler jumps down and connects with a LEG DROP BULLDOG!. . . . . Dreamer’s head is driven in to the mat, and Ziggler looks to take advantage right away, hooking both legs as the referee drops to his knees to make the count. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No! Dreamer kicks out, and despite clearly being f...trated, Ziggler gets right back up to a vertical base before dropping a series of elbow shots to the chest of Dreamer. He then yells at him to get up, and he allows him to get to his knees before turning back to run the ropes and coming back to nail Dreamer in the skull with a sit-down dropkick to the head. That had to hurt, and Dreamer just falls back on the mat with Ziggler hurrying to make a cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No!

Somehow Dreamer hot his shoulder up, and Ziggler’s not amused in the slightest. He stands back up and stomps all over Dreamer’s chest, showing a lot of aggression. So much that the referee pushes him back, allowing Dreamer to roll on to one side. Ziggler looks very focused as he walks back across towards his opponent and helps him up from his knees, but he doesn’t bank on a fight back from his opponent. Dreamer catches him off guard with a right hand and a stiff kick to the stomach. He then turns back and runs in to the ropes, but as he runs back, Ziggler jumps up and hits a DIVING LEG LARIAT!!. . . . . He got all of it, and as he makes his own way back up, Dreamer isn’t far behind him. Ziggler shifts behind his opponent and sets him up for a ...SIAN LEG SWEEP. . . . . He has Dreamer locked in and hits a modified jumping version, the ZIG ZAG. . . . . Dreamer hits the mat hard, and Ziggler goes for the cover right away, hooking both legs as the referee makes the count. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler by pinfall @ 6.57.

Aftermath: “I Am Perfection” hits to heat from the crowd as the successful debutant stands back up to get his arm raised by the referee. He looks in to the crowd with a very smug on his face in the process, and he then quickly leaves the ring, turns round and looks back with a smile on his face as Dreamer sits up, holding the back of his head. Ziggler smirks and turns round, walking to the back with a big smile on his face.

{Cut Backstage}

Todd Grisham is standing by at the interview set.

Todd Grisham: Please welcome my guests at this time. . . Carlito and Eddie Colon.

The Colon Brothers walk in to the shot with Eric Perez standing alongside them.

Todd Grisham: Guys, I have t’ ask just why you’re here t’night and what it is you’re so desperate t’ talk about.

Carlito: Y’know Todd, we got a question for Eric Bischoff, but since he’s not here, maybe you can try an’ answer it, ‘cause it’s confusin’ the hell out o’ us. . . How is it that Cryme Time, the guys we’ve beat up for the last couple o’ months get a shot at the tag titles at Vengeance an’ we don’t? What’s up wit’ that Todd? We don’t get it.

Todd Grisham: I don’t know what t’ say guys. I guess only Eric Bischoff can answer that.

Eddie Colon: But he ain’t here is he? He even gave his freak show of a nephew an’ that even bigger freak a match wit’ Miz an’ Morrison, but ain’t givin’ us nothin’. It’s seriously not cool, an’ we see it that if Cryme Time get a shot, so should we.

WWE United States Championship
Matt Hardy vs Shelton Benjamin (c)

Ending: Shelton looks to be in top as he urges Matt to get back up following a dragon whip. Shelton pounces as Matt stands up, grabbing his arm and whipping him in to the ropes. He then ducks his head, and as Matt comes back, it gives him the chance to kick Benjamin square in the head. The United States Champion’s head snaps back up with Matt grabbing him around the upper torso and then planting him with the SIDE EFFECT!!. . . . . The crowd all cheer as Matt quickly readjusts his position on the canvas to make a cover with the referee dropping to his knees in order to make the count. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . Kick out from The Gold Standard, but Matt takes it on the chin as he returns to his feet and walks in to the corner. He turns round and helps himself up to the second rope, and with Shelton still lying on the mat, Hardy then steps off the rope and connects with a DIVING LEG DROP. . . . . Shelton looks to be in trouble as Matt then shimmies round and goes for another cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . .

No, Shelton kicks out once more to the disappointment of the crowd. Matt doesn’t show much f...tration as he picks himself back up and stands back, lying in wait for Shelton, who slowly makes it up to his feet. Matt then throws both his hands in the air, getting ready to explode as Shelton then turns round in to a kick to the gut with Matt then grabbing him the by head and pulling him in position for the TWIST OF FATE!!!. . . . . The fans all rise to their feet, but as Matt spins round, Shelton pushes him forward in to the ropes, and as Matt comes back, Shelton kneels down and lifts Matt on to his shoulders, then falls back to hit a huge SAMOAN DROP!!. . . . . The fans can’t believe it, and it takes Shelton a couple of seconds before he can recover and shimmy across to make a cover on Matt. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No, Matt just lifts his shoulder up to the relief of the Orlando crowd. Shelton sits up in shock, staring at Matt and then the referee.

He then stands back up and bends down to pull Matt back up. He whips him in to the corner and runs in at him straight away, connecting with a STINGER SPLASH. . . . . He hits it and backs out of the corner right away, and as Matt staggers out, Shelton grabs him around the upper torso for the T-BONE SUPLEX!. . . . . Matt fights it by swinging his elbow in to the side of Shelton’s head, sending Shelton staggering away. As he then turns back in to Matt’s body, the challenger kicks him in the gut and explodes with the TWIST OF FATE!!!. . . . . Everyone in the crowd stands up again as Matt shimmies round on the canvas to hook Shelton’s near leg for a cover. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . No! Shelton gets his free foot on the bottom rope, preventing a victory for Matt and keeping his title safe for now. Sighs from the crowd are echoing around the arena as Matt sits up, staring blankly at the referee, Shelton’s foot and then the fans.

He then returns to his feet and backs away from the ropes as Shelton starts to stir. Hardy urges his opponent to get up once again, and as Shelton stands up using the ropes to help him, Matt’s determination becomes clearer as he gets more agitated. Shelton then walks away from the ropes, still slightly groggy as he walks in to Matt and another kick to the gut. Matt then grabs him by the head, trying to set him up for the Twist of Fate once more, but Shelton fights like a champion should. He slips behind Matt and grabs him around the waist immediately, then plants him with a GERMAN SUPLEX!!. . . . . Shelton holds on for a cover as the ref ...hes to his knees to make the count. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . Matt gets his shoulder up, and Shelton lets the grip go straight away. They both then struggle to their feet, and Shelton’s up first. As Matt turns to face him, Shelton leans back and looks to hit a SUPER KICK!!. . . . . Matt grabs his boot, spins him round and lets go, then drills him in to the canvas head first with a ONE ARM DDT!!!. . . . .

It could be over, and Matt seems to think it is as he crawls over and turns Shelton on to his back before hooking both legs with the crowd counting in tandem with the ref. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . NO!! Shelton just, and only just got his shoulder up. Matt sits up in shock, and this time it’s clear to see the f...tration written all over his face. Shelton turns on to his side, and the camera zooms in on his very dazed expression, and he doesn’t seem to know where he is. Matt then gets back to his feet and pulls the defending champion up too. He then whips him in to the corner, follows in immediately and hits a clothesline, holding on to Shelton’s head at the same time. He then turns round and runs out of the corner, looking to hit a bulldog, but Shelton pulls his head back as Matt hits the deck all by himself. Shelton takes a short breather, and as Matt sits up, then gets close to standing up, The Gold Standard runs at him and explodes with the PAY DIRT. . . . . Matt hits the canvas, and the desperate Benjamin shifts round to cover Matt, hooking both legs as the ref counts the fall. . . . . 1 . . . . . 2 . . . . . 3.

Winner: By pinfall, and still the WWE United States Champion, Shelton Benjamin @ 9.20.

Aftermath: “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Me” hits to heat from the crowd as the relieved United States Champion sits back up and smirks in to the crowd while the referee goes to collect the title belt. He walks back over to Shelton as the champ stands up, then hands the title over to the smug Benjamin. He lifts it up in to the air as the ref raises his other hand to the f...tration of the fans inside the arena. Shelton walks over to the ropes and lifts it up in to the air once more, taunting the fans as the show comes to a close.
