Notable Feuds: The Rock, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Triple H, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Christian, John Cena
Thread Feuds: Rob Van Dam, The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio

Major Accomplishments (from 2006 on): With “Y2J” being evicted from the WWE in 2005, Jericho made an unexpected, but explosive, return to the WWE in January 2007, winning a 20-man Battle Royal for the vacant World Heavyweight title the night after the Royal Rumble. Jericho would hold onto the title until losing it to Royal Rumble Winner Rob Van Dam in the main event of Wrestlemania 23 in an Extreme Rules match. Jericho would try to get the title back, forming an unsuccessful stable with Kenny Dykstra and AJ Styles, at the same time, locking horns with The Undertaker several times. Jericho became more and more mentally unstable following this feud, resulting in a full character turn after a loss to Rey Mysterio at SummerSlam 2007, turning his back on all the good that he’d ever done. Jericho defeated RVD and Mysterio in a Triple Threat Lumberjack match at No Mercy to regain the WHC.

He lost the title to Rey Mysterio at Wrestlemania 22 and continued a feud with Randy Orton. Angle then joined the ECW brand upon its rebirth, but failed to qualify for the Elimination Chamber in December. After coming close to calling it quits in the company, Angle stayed and received a World title push after being placed back on SD!, sparking a long-running, still-running feud with Batista. After kicking Batista off SD! at Judgment Day in a Steel Cage match, Gregory Helms looked to Angle to help him, but Angle refused. Resparks between Batista and Angle occur all year.

“The Animal” Batista

Finisher(s): Batista Bomb, Spinebuster, Spear
Alignment: Tweener
Entrance: “I Walk Alone” by Saliva

Former 2x World Heavyweight Champion

In 2007, Batista failed to capture the World Heavyweight title at the Royal Rumble in a match involving champion Mark Henry and Kurt Angle, but injured Henry in the process. The rivalry between Angle and Batista lingers to this day, although Edge inserted himself when Batista was kicked off of Smackdown! and onto RAW in May. Batista returned to Smackdown following the 2007 Draft.

Major Accomplishments (from 2006 on): Van Dam exploded back onto the wrestling scene in January of 2006, making it to the finals of the Road to Wrestlemania tournament. Van Dam then won the Wrestlemania 22 MITB match, cashing in his opportunity against John Cena at One Night Stand 2006, winning, and brining back ECW as a brand under the WWE. The brand folded into the new year, putting RVD back on Smackdown!. Van Dam won the 2007 Royal Rumble, getting him a chance at World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho. After choosing his type of match, Van Dam won the world title in an Extreme Rules match, defending the title against Jericho and The Undertaker at Judgment Day and One Night Stand. After having their legendary match interfered, Van Dam and the Rock were again involved in a title match at SummerSlam that involved the returning Christian. All the while, Van Dam would be assaulted by a group of ski masked men after Sabu was. The group of men cost him his World title at No Mercy, as an entire horde of them interrupted the match. Thread Feuds: Umaga, Rob Van Dam, Chris Jericho, AJ Styles, Muhammad Hassan

Major Achievements (since 2006): The Deadman kicked off 2006 by having what many claimed as an instant classic against Kurt Angle at No Way Out. ‘Taker would go on to defeat Mark Henry at Wrestlemania 22 in a Casket match, but the following months, the Phenom was pursued by a debuting Great Khali. The second half of the year, ‘Taker accompanied his half-brother Kane in delivering hurt on MVP and Ken Kennedy. ‘Taker got the upper hand on Kennedy, but at the beginning of ’07, was nowhere to be seen, until he challenged Umaga to a match at No Way Out. With Umaga getting hurt prior to the PPV, ‘Taker had to face Deuce n’ Domino in a Handicapped match. The Deadman broke Umaga’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania 23, giving him three Tombstones. ‘Taker would then become wrapped up in attaining the World Heavyweight Championship from RVD and Jericho. The Deadman would then transition to feuding with AJ Styles, losing to him at the GAB, SummerSlam, and No Mercy all by technicality, but wasn’t been seen since No Mercy, but reappeard in December.

Notable Feuds: Matt Hardy, Chavo Guererro, Eddie Guererro, Randy Orton, JBL, King Booker Thread Feuds: Elijah Burke, Chris Jericho, JBL

Major Achievements (since 2006): Mysterio kicked off 2006 by winning the Royal Rumble match, which he dedicated to fallen friend Eddie Guererro. Mysterio would feud with Randy Orton for that shot, turning the Wrestlemania 22 match into a Triple Threat, which Mysterio won. After forcing JBL to retire in a failed attempt to gain the World Heavyweight title, Mysterio lost the title to King Booker after Chavo turned on him, injuring him in the following weeks, putting Mysterio on the shelf for nearly a year with a torn tendon in his leg. Mysterio came back at the GAB 2007, defeating Elijah Burke in his first match back. From there, Mysterio would embark in a feud with a mentally deteriorating Chris Jericho, defeating him at SummerSlam, but losing to him two weeks later as well as at No Mercy, being forced to tap out the Walls of Jericho, netting Jericho his second World Heavyweight crown. From there, Mysterio would be embroiled in a feud with the man he forced to retire, JBL, before sending him away post-Armageddon.

Major Achievements (from 2006 on): Christian departed the WWE in 2005 for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, becoming the first former WWE star to become a star of the separate promotion. When he opted out of his contract, Christian returned in a thunderous way, interfering in the main event of the GAB, giving Con-Chair-Tos to champion RVD and The Rock. Christian would later be included in the rematch at SummerSlam, but would wind up being pinned by RVD to retain. Over the next few weeks, Christian and The Rock would beat each other out of title contention, to the point where their match at No Mercy would be deemed a no contest. Approaching Survivor Series, things still weren’t done between Rock and Christian, but trying to escape the grip of The Rock, Christian assaulted Kevin Thorn to get a spot on Team Smackdown! at Survivor Series.

Entrance: “Arabian Rise” – Remix

Current 1x "Middle Eastern Champion"
Former 1x Hardcore Champion

Notable Feuds: Hulk Hogan, Undertaker
Thread Feuds: Sabu, Rob Van Dam
Allies: The Arabian World Order

Major Achievements: Everyone knows the epic of Muhammad Hassan. Hassan went undefeated from his debut on RAW until losing to Batista, building himself as an anti-American, boarder line terrorist, Arabian sympathizer who wanted to break free of the Arabian-American stereotypes set after the 9/11 attacks. Hassan was sent to Smackdown!, getting into things with The Undertaker. With the March terrorist bombings in Madrid, Spain, Hassan’s character was brought into the national spotlight for portraying a national enemy, especially after getting a group of ski-masked men in camouflage pants to attack the Deadman. Thus, Hassan was released in 2005. However, starting at SummerSlam 2007, then-Hardcore Champion Sabu began being assaulted by men dressed in ski masks and camo pants. Over the next few months, the assaults would continue, eventually dragging RVD into things. After winning the Hardcore title and costing Sabu months of his career and his Hardcore title, as well as costing RVD the World Heavyweight Championship, the masked men finally revealed themselves on the November 9th edition of Smackdown!, taking up RVD’s challenge to a match at Survivor Series. Hassan would go on to unify the Hardcore & United States Championships, branding it the "Middle Eastern" Championship.

Losing a World Tag Team title match at Wrestlemania 22 in 2006, Carlito went back to the IC title hunt. Coming up short, Carlito ignited a feud with Randy Orton before getting into it with Ric Fair, who took Carlito up as his protégé going into 2007. This union would lead to Carlito becoming the second member of the Natural Order. After building momentum then being stunted repeatedly, Carlito turned heel upon being drafted, aligning himself with Ken Kennedy, who gave Carlito his own Latino Mafia to be the Don of.

At the start of the new year, MVP found himself tagging alongside new SD! Superstar Elijah Burke, forming the tag team of The Homies. The two would defeat The Hardyz in a Ladder match for the vacant WWE Tag Team Championships at the Royal Rumble, but would lose them to them a month later. The duo would lose to Bobby Lashley at Wrestlemania 23 in a handicapped match, officially self-destructing and disbanding. MVP would defeat Burke at Judgment Day, and feud with US Champion Bobby Lashley for the next several months before taking his girlfriend and defeating Lashley at No Mercy in a Parking Lot Brawl with help from his ‘benefactor’. The ‘benefactor’ turned out to be a returning JBL. Following JBL's leave, MVP aligned himself with the new-and-improved John Morrison.

Benjamin closed out the year by reuniting with Charlie Haas to reform the World’s Greatest Tag Team, capturing the vacant World Tag titles the night after the Royal Rumble. The duo would lose the titles in the Tag title unification match at Wrestlemania 23 to the Hardyz, to whom they lost to at Backlash. The stable broke up and Nitro went to RAW, instantly getting into the IC title hunt, winning the belt from Shelton Benjamin at Vengeance. Nitro held onto the title but feuded with Jeff Hardy until the very end of the year, going into the new year. Nitro disappeared from WWE TV after the Royal Rumble, but resurfaced now and again. Nitro began re-appearing regularly going into SummerSlam, winning the IC title for one week in November, before losing to Jeff Hardy once more. In 2007, Finlay kicked off a feud with then Intercontinental Champion CM Punk, getting the title from him, but losing it back in a 20-man Battle Royal that also determined the last spot in the MITB match at Wrestlemania 23. Finlay would then win the newly re-instated Hardcore title two weeks later, but would lose it to Punk at Backlash. The latter part of the year was full of Hardy hopes, as his brother Jeff had returned to the company earlier that year. After winning alongside his brother at Survivor Series, Hardy came up short at Armageddon alongside his brother in a 4-Way Ladder match for the WWE Tag Titles. That would not be the last time they did that, however, as at the Royal Rumble, The Hardyz lost to MVP and Elijah Burke for those same belts. They would win them a month later at No Way Out before unifying the titles with the World Tag titles at Wrestlemania 23 in a TLC match, becoming one half of the first ever Undisputed Tag Team Champions. Re: WWE: In The Eyes Of A Child

Sorry man, I'm really not digging this concept. McMahon will never go bankrupt, but I can overlook something like that. The idea of giving the WWE to a contest winner is pretty bad too. The entire idea of giving the WWE to a child is even further terrible (also, I'm going to assume it's you because of the Kirby avart). And then referring to the kid as The Child is even more ridiculous. Spelling error and the weak presentation of the BTB make it tough to want to read as well.

Re: WWE: In The Eyes Of A Child

Th Child concept is really unappealing, and saying Vince could go bankrupt AND give the company away is just too farfetched, especially when you still have Shane one the roster
Good luck with this.

Re: WWE: In The Eyes Of A Child

To those of you not digging the whole kid theory, the kid is NOT me. It's just a random thought I had.
Besides, this is my first try and I will do my best to go past expectations (well, you guys set the bar pretty low for me, didn't you?)

Re: WWE: In The Eyes Of A Child

RAW

The first of the year…

On a bonus note that we are starting over, all titles have been vacated

We’re gonna kick things off in January, a whole new year. Everybody’s gearin’ up for the Rumble, and there’s some pretty evident fallout backstage that has to get cleaned up…

SHOW TIME!!!
“Wanna Be Loved” plays. The show begins and almost immediately, The Child’s titantron hits and he walk toward the ring.

JR: Welcome to a special edition of Monday Night Raw!!! For many of you who are still somewhat confused, we do have a new owner! His name is disclosed, but he is a 12-year old child who-well I’m not even sure how he got this dream position-but he’s here, and apparently has an announcement on the now HIS show!

JL: How the hell did a 12-year old get this job, JR? I wanted that job!! Was the board insane when they did this?

Child: Ya know it’s a dream to actually own the WWE and be Chairman and make all the decisions. That’s why I-
(suddenly, “Sexy Boy” hits and the crowd goes nuts)

Shawn: I don’t care what position you have, there’s nothin’ on this planet that’s gonna keep me from filling that vacant WWE title spot. And if you’re not gonna do something about that, I’m gon’ have to do it myself.
(crowd goes crazy after this statement)

JR: Well it seems Shawn Michaels has voiced his opinion on the current issue of a kid owner!

JL: Well, his opinion is: he doesn’t care!! He doesn’t care who the owner is! He’s got his eyes set on one thing, and that’s the WWE Championship!!

Child: I can’t just strait up give you the title, Shawn. Hell, there’s not gonna be a WWE champion ‘till the Royal Rumble, but you’re one of the top guys in the industry right now. As for the rest of the night-
(King Booker’s music hits)

Booker: You wanna talk about gold, and not even mention the King? I have won over 20 professional titles in my storied career. Including 5-time, COUNT IT-5-time WCW Championships! With all due respect HBK, I deserve to be WWE Champion!
(a majority of the crowd boos at this. Booing turns to even more boo as Edge and Orton actually come out together. They are followed immediately by Ken Kennedy.)

JR: Well, its seems as though Rated RKO has something to say about this entire situation as well.

Edge: You just can’t throw guys aside like us that way! Me and Randy are hell of singles competitors! We have every right to go for the WWE championship! And you, ‘The Child’-get your ass back to your middle school so you can get stuffed into your locker!!
(gets parade of boos)

Kennedy: You guys must be kidding? Dude (he points to Shawn), do you really think you’re still stoppin’ shows and breakin’ hearts at your age? And you (he points at the King)? Who the hell calls himself “King?” I’m this only king around here! King Kennedy! That sounds good! And Edge, how ‘bout you just shove it? And pretty boy Randy better speak up for himself! You all think you are great in the ring, but there’s no one, I mean no on better than-MRRRRRRRRRR-
(is cut off by sudden playing of “My Time is Now”. Mixed reaction from the crowd.)

JL: JR. it looks like The Champ has words for those guys in the ring!!

JR: Knowing John Cena, it’s not gonna be too pretty for those men in the ring

Cena: I know ya’ll ain’t talkin’ about the WWE championship and you haven’t even mentioned the name of The Champ? Show-stoppin’, crown-wearin’, freaky-smilin’, lip poochin’, microphone wailin’, I don’t give a damn! I was the champ, I still should be champ, and I will be champ!
(crowd again has mixed reaction)

Child: (after all in the ring are in big argument) Guys, guys, guys! There’s only one way to really settle this-in this very ring. Now, at the Rumble, there’s gonna be some blood for that title. Tonight, we’re gonna find out who’s gonna spill it! There’s gonna be two triple threat matches tonight, the winners of both will face each other at the Rumble. The other 4 will get four of the first 10 entries into the Rumble. First, we’re gonna have-Shawn Michaels…
(crowd cheers wildly)
…vs Ken Kennedy…
(some boos, some cheer)
…vs Edge!
(big cheer turns to boos)

…the other will be Cena, Randy, and the King. See ya’ll suckas later tonight. Sorry to override ya on your first night, Teddy, but I had to take charge.
(The Child leave the ring, soon to be followed by all six guys)

*Commercial Break*

Match 1
(scheduled for one fall, winner gets IC title shot next week)
CM Punk v. Carlito. Both get huge pops.

Start: Carlito got off to a hot start, constantly using high octane moves. He starts off using lefts and rights and hitting a clothesline before hitting his springboard elbow. Goes for a cover, but only gets 2

Mid Match: CM gains a bit of momentum and starts using his knees as weapons. Eventually gets enough steam to hit the knee-turnpike-to-bulldog. Gets 2-count. Carlito responds buy hitting a series of dropkicks before a clothesline throws CM out the ring. An arm drag onto the outside padding by Carlito has Punk grounded. Punk recovers and proceeds to chop Caribbean Cool in the chest. Carlito responds with an Irish Whip into the steel steps. The referee’s count is at 6. Carlito gets back into the ring.

End: CM recovers, but almost walks into the Backcracker. Using the ropes, he holds on to slow Carlito’s momentum to prevent the move. Carlito gets up with his head spinning. CM lifts Carlito up and hits the G.T.S. Good night, Carlito. 1-2-3. CM gets shot.

JR: What an incredible match we just had here on RAW, with CM Punk getting the W here over Carlito!

JL: Yeah, JR! Punk goes on next week to face whoever wins the other match tonight for the Intercontinental Championship!

JR: Well, RAW’s gotten off to a hot start with 2 main events being set and we have a #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship!!

Backstage, you see The Child cleaning up the Chairman desk when Shane-O-Mac walks in, and he ain’t too happy. He just kinda stares at him and then walks off.

*Commercial Break*

JR: Welcome back to Monday Night RAW, here we have Jillian Hall inside the ring with a microphone…

JL: Hey JR, do you know math?

JR: I currently am rusty in that area, but why do you ask?

JL: I have an equation here: Jillian + Microphone + Sound=Cats committing suicide!! HAHA!!!

JR: Oh, you’re horrible, King. Well, Jillian seems to be accompanied my Melina, we have a scheduled match, but Jillian wants to shriek-er-sing

Jillian: I would like to dedicate this song to our new owner, The Child…(clears her throat)…AND IIIIIIIII WILL ALWAYS LOOOOOOVE YOUUUUU(crowd is booing entire time. Even Melina has a disgusted face and is holding her ears. Thankfully, Mickie and Maria interrupt the serenade.)

Match 2
(Diva tag match)
Mickie & Maria v. Melina & Jillian

Brief Match Summary-The crowd is obviously on the side of Mickie and Maria. Melina & Jillian pick up the win after a Jillian powerbomb to Maria.

JR: Well, thankfully someone got Jillian away from that mic, too bad Maria and Mickie James couldn’t drive her away for good.

JL: JR, I think Garfield jumped off a bridge when he heard that.

JR: Oh stop it, King. Well anyways, next up we have one of our main events, a #1 contender’s match for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble. A Triple Treat match-up, and that’s right now!!

Match 3
(winner goes to Rumble for WWE title)
Shawn Michaels v. Ken Kennedy v. Edge

Start: Kennedy & Edge start on Michaels. HBK responds with chest chops that echo thru the arena. They eventually get the better of him and launch him out the ring via double back body drop

*Commercial Break*

Mid Match: Kennedy and Edge go at each other, mainly with punches, but the referee gets knocked out after a misguided clothesline from Kennedy. Edge then removes the padding from turnpike. Edge proceeds to spinning wheel kick Kennedy. Afterward, Edge tosses the arrogant loudmouth into the ropes, but on the rebound, both and Edge and Kennedy attempt cross-bodies and smash into each other. After an Edge-O’-Matic and the ref not revived, Edge goes for a spear and misses, sending him into the iron post.

End: Edge slumps out the ring after failed attempt, while Kennedy turns and sees Michaels in his face. The two go at it, and then Shawn throws Kennedy into the unprotected post and stuns Ken. Kennedy turns around, only to be greeted by a superkick and the three count. The Showstopper’s goin’ to the Rumble.

JR: I don’t believe it!! Shawn Michaels is going to the Royal Rumble to try to live his dream one more time!!!

JL: That was a heck of a match, JR!! Now all we have to do is find out who he’s gonna go against later on tonight! Tell’em about it, JR!

JR: Well King, you’re right. Tonight, our main event is another triple threat match-up, this one between King Booker, John Cena, and Randy Orton.

Match 4
(normal tag team match)
WGTT v. Regal and Taylor

Brief Match Summary: WGTT picks up win after low blow from Hass enables Benjamin to hit T-Bone Suplex on Regal. The crowd is behind neither team, but most cheer at the outcome

*Commercial Break*

Maria: My guest at this time, the former WWE champion, John Cena! Tell me John, what do you think about the new owner and about your main event match tonight?

Cena: Well, I-
(Cena is cut off by the entering in the room of Randy Orton.)

Cena: Sorry Maria, I gotta go.
(Cena goes off, leaving Maria perplexed and rubbing her neck)

JR: Well ladies and gentlemen, up next on RAW is the second #1 contender’s match for the IC Championship, and also the second #1 contender’s match for the WWE Championship.

JL: The best is yet to come, JR!! Uh-oh, here comes the masterpiece.

Match 5
(one fall, winner faces CM next week for IC Title)
Chris Masters v. Johnny Nitro

Start: Nitro hits off with continuous right hands before trying to throw Masters into the ropes. It is reversed into a powerslam, giving the early momentum to the Masterpiece.

Mid Match: Masters tries to go for the Master Lock, but is fought off by Nitro. Masters backs into the ref with force, laying the official out. Afterward, Nitro hits a dropkick before going to the top rope and corkscrewing Masters while grounded. With the ref still gone, Nitro grabs a chair.

End: Upon re-entry to the ring, Nitro hits Masters in the gut with chair and hits an over the top flip sunset pin. Match done, Nitro gets shot. Call the paparazzi!

JR: Well, Johnny “Hollywood” Nitro takes advantage in this match and will face CM Punk come next week for the uh coveted Intercontinental Championship

JL: JR, speaking of championships, the main event is next!!

JR: Indeed it is, King. Like my partner just said, coming up next on this special RAW, is our main event-a triple threat match for the other contender for the WWE Championship, the other being Shawn Michaels, who won earlier tonight defeating Ken Kennedy and Edge. Well up next, there it is King Booker, John Cena, and Randy Orton, next.

*Commercial Break*

MAIN EVENT
(winner goes to Rumble and faces Michaels for WWE Title)
John Cena v. Randy Orton v. King Booker

Start: Orton starts with immediate offense, hitting Book with an elbow and Cena with rights and lefts, till Cena collapses over the ring. Orton follows him and Irish Whip’s him into steel steps. Booker baseball slides Orton, who’s too close to the ring. All three men are outside the ring, with Booker bouncing Orton’s head off the announcer’s booth.

Mid Match: Booker grabs Cena and throws him into the ring. Repeated shots to the midsection are what Booker’s keeping up with to Cena, and even nails the knee drop to his face. More blows followed by a DDT and a scoop slam. Cena eventually does manage to reverse a clothesline into a Killswitch, then goes on to hit the 5-Knuckle Shuffle. Cena has Booker measured and is about to attempt an FU

End: Orton revives and climbs the rope. He then hits Booker with a missile dropkick from the top. Cena and Orton stare down and brawl before Orton sets up for the RKO. He misses and gets caught in the FU. After the slam, Cena holds his midsection that Booker was working on, obviously in pain. From nowhere, Booker hits the Scissors Kick and picks up the pin. The King’s goin’ to the Royal Rumble.

JR: I don’t believe what I just witnessed!! King Booker, taking advantage of Cena’s midsection injury and putting it toward the Scissors Kick!

JL: Well, it looks like the Royal Rumble’s shaping up to be pretty big already! King Booker will be Shawn Michael’s opponent in a few weeks!

JR: Folks, this is JR, Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler signing off of this monumental Monday Night RAW, with an ever so opportunistic King Booker picking up the win in our main event. Good night, everyone!!

SHOW ENDS

It's not the best show ever, but it's my first one

I will be reading up on your BTB (I will assume you are a fellow newbie booker). Thanx for the comment, but i have other plans for Randy Orton in the near future...
Anyway, thanx for looking past my seemingly uninteresting backstory (currently looking for a way to change it).

My first Smackdown should be finished by this evening.

Re: WWE: In The Eyes Of A Child

SMACKDOWN!

The first show for SM!

As was the case on RAW, everybody’s gearin’ up for the Rumble. New General Manager, Tazz, knows this and immediately sets out to take care of it. The Human Suplex Machine is out to straiten things out…

SHOW TIME!!!

“Rise Up” plays as the show begins. Afterward, Tazz’s music hits and he greets several Superstars already in the ring. These men are RVD, Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashley, and Mark Henry. As the show opens, Bastisa’s music hits the titantron. The crowd goes nuts.

Cole: Ladies and gentlemen, this is Michael Cole alongside Joey Styles here and this is Friday Night Smackdown, our first show of the New Year under our new management here on Smackdown, that being a new General Manager and a new owner of the WWE.

Styles: That’s all true and well, Cole, but right there in the ring is Tazz and 4 of Smackdown’s brightest stars, but Batista looks like he has something on his mind that he needs to talk about with the new GM, Tazz.

Tazz: Now hold on Batista! These men were the first four to get my OK to qualify for the title race. You are a great Superstar who does qualify for this, but you’re too little too late. Sorry, man. I wish I had a backup plan, but I don’t so…

Batista: …so I’m gonna fight my way back into this, that’s what. I’m sure some shouldn’t be here, but I don’t care for the race. I just want one thing-Mark Henry
(crowd goes wild as he points to the World’s Strongest Man)
That’s right, Mark. I haven’t forgotten what you did to me. I still have unfinished business with you. I know you’re scared of me, so you probably rushed so you could get into this race to get away from me. Don’t worry, Mark. You can’t run from an Animal, and you definitely can’t hide from one.
(he turns and leaves, apparently in disgust)

Tazz: Now that that’s over with, we can get down to business. Tonight, we’re gonna have two one-on-one matches. The first will be Rob Van Dam against Kurt Angle…
(crowd cheers at announcement)
…and the other will be Bobby Lashley against Mark Henry.
(crowd has mixed reactions at this)
The winners of these two matches will face each other not at the Royal Rumble-but next week for the World Heavyweight Championship, here on Smackdown!
(everyone in the arena goes wild for that announcement)
I’ll be seeing you amigos later. See ya!
Cole: A monumental announcement from my former commentary partner now Smackdown GM, Tazz! There will be 2 matches tonight to decide who will compete for the World Heavyweight Championship next week here on Smackdown!!!

Styles: Don’t forget Cole, Tazz was my former commentary partner, too. And yes, a tremendous announcement to say the least by the Human Suplex Machine about Smackdown the next few weeks. What a way to kick off Smackdown’s first show of the year!!
(Tazz leaves. As commercial comes, the other four leave)

*Commercial Break*

Match 1
(one fall, winner gets shot at United States Championship next week)
Chris Benoit v. Matt Striker

Start: Striker begins by taunting Benoit, telling him “I am your teacher, gap tooth!” before Benoit pops him in the mouth with a right hand. Benoit throws Striker into the ropes to attempt a body attack, but Striker scurries out of the ring, holding his lip. Benoit leaps over the top rope and lands right on top of Striker.

Mid Match: Both men are outside at the count of 6, then Benoit throws Striker into the ring. Benoit then hits three elbows on his downed foe. Striker finally recovers and attempts a clothesline but it’s dodged by Benoit, who catches Striker and hits three German suplexes in succession. Benoit vigorously slashes his throat, ready to deliver the Headbutt. He misses, as Striker rolls out the way. Striker then attempts his finisher, the Golden Rule. Striker’s fatal mistake is that he tries to grab Benoit’s loose arm.

End: Benoit grabs Striker’s arm and locks in the Crippler Crossface. Striker has no choice but to tap out. Benoit goes on to the US Title match next week.

Marcus Cor Von is seen guzzling water backstage. He turns around and sees Batista, waiting to get a water bottle. Cor Von asks Batista “What’s up, Too Late? Looks like ‘Animal instincts’ weren’t enough to get into the title race, huh ‘Champ’? You may be an Animal, but I’m the Alpha Male!”

Batista: That’s good and well, Marcus. But since I’m feelin’ really pissed today and you’ve just pissed me off even more, how ‘bout we prove who’s the Alpha Male in the ring in a bit?
(Batista walks off and leaves Cor Von bewildered)

Match 2
(one fall match-up)
Jimmy Wang Yang v. The Miz

Brief Match Summary: Miz comes into the match very aggravated, after trying to convince many people that he is, in fact, not a cruiserweight. He blindly tries to put away Wang Yang. Jimmy picks up the win after rolling up the Miz. Yee-haw!

Cole: Well ladies and gentlemen; coming up next is one of the matches new Smackdown GM Tazz planned at the beginning of the show. It will be for a World Heavyweight Championship opportunity next week here on Smackdown.

Styles: That’s right Cole, and that match is NEXT!!

*Commercial Break*

Match 3
(winner gets WHC opportunity next week)
Rob Van Dam v. Kurt Angle

Start: Angle gets RVD into a headlock, but Van Dam throws Angle into the ropes as a counter. On the rebound, Angle drops and grabs at RVD’s legs and back up toward his head, catching him in a sleeper-scissors lock. Van Dam struggles to break it, but manages to get to a vertical base and kicks Angle in the jaw to snap it.

Mid Match: Van Dam hits a spinning wheel kick to Angle. Angle falls on the canvas. RVD sets up for the Rolling Thunder. While Van Dam is rolling, Angle recovers and hits an extremely skilled counter: a German suplex while his opponent is in a momentous state. Angle then grabs Van Dam’s leg and puts on the Ankle Lock. Van Dam reaches for the ropes, but can’t reach them. He eventually gets enough guile to ensiguri Angle and get out of it. Van Dam sets up for the Split-Legged Moonsault, but only gets a 2-count. He then hits a spinning wheel kick to Angle after running to the ropes.

End: RVD sets up for the Five Star Frog Splash, but Angle springs to life and climbs the turnpike quickly and grabs Van Dam and Super Angle Slams him to the canvas. Angle picks up the win, and will go for the title next week.

Cole: Wow…that was some matchup…

Styles: I’m still somewhat in awe in the aftermath of that match, ladies and gentlemen, as Kurt Angle goes over former ECW Extremist Rob Van Dam and will face either Mark Henry or Bobby Lashley, whoever wins in tonight’s match later.

Cole: As Angle is celebrating a hard fought win, we will go to a commercial break, but up next, a match Batista requested earlier tonight, as the Animal will face the self-proclaimed Alpha Male.

Styles: That’s right, partner, and that’s up next, here on Friday Night Smackdown!

*Commercial Break*

Match 4
(one fall, grudge match)
Batista v. Marcus Cor Von

Brief Match Summary: The match tempo is mostly slow as both big men lock up and go at it. Plenty of powerslams and clotheslines in this matchup. Cor Von goes for The Pounce, but Batista hits a spinebuster. The Batista Bomb follows. 1-2-3.

(scene changes to the backstage area)
Krystal: My guest at this time, the World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry! Tell me Mark, are those mind rattling comments Batista made about you earlier true?

Henry: Ya know Krystal, Batista can say whatever he wants to about Mark Henry, but the fact of the matter is I’m in this race, not him. Furthermore, I-
(gets cut off as Batista enters from the left side of the camera, sweaty from his recent match. The two stare until Batista walks away, still locking eyes with Henry.)

Styles: Well ladies and gentlemen, those two have some issues with each other that I’m not sure anywhere on this planet has any room to resolve, but Mark Henry has his own problems to deal with tonight.

Cole: That’s right, Joey, and that will be our main event tonight, and you see it on your screen is a #1 contendership at the Royal Rumble for the World Heavyweight Championship between two giant men, Mark Henry and Bobby Lashley, and that’s later on tonight! Keep it here, on Friday Night Smackdown!!

Styles: It appears here and now we have a scheduled tag team match-up, let’s take a look at that)

Match 5
(tag match, winners get tag team recognition)
The Hardy Boyz v. The Homies

Start: Matt starts off for the Hardyz, MVP starts for the Homies. The two lock up until MVP lands a kick to the gut and starts pounding on the Cameron native. He pulls him toward his corner and tags in Elijah Burke. Burke stomps on Hardy’s chest as he comes in.

*Commercial Break*

Mid Match: Matt manages to tag in Jeff after Elijah scuffed a spinebuster. Jeff starts clotheslining Burke and MVP until Burke gives him a low blow. This enables MVP to tag in and hit a boot to the face of Hardy, but only gets a 2-count.

End: After a Side Effect to Burke, Matt and Jeff double Twist of Fate their respective opponents. Jeff hits MVP with a Swanton Bomb and picks up the win. Hardyz, welcome back to Smackdown!

Cole: Well the Hardyz pulling out a high-flyin’ victory here this evening.

Styles: Looks like MVP and Elijah Burke couldn’t keep them grounded, but up next here on Smackdown, there will be the other United States Championship #1 contenders qualifying match between an up and coming star and a madman, as it were.
Match 6
(winner faces Chris Benoit for US title next week)
Kenny Dykstra v. Hardcore Holly

Brief Match Summary: The only true match highlight is when Dykstra reverses the Alabamaslam into a nice DDT. Holly refuses to break a submission hold while Dykstra is holding on to the ropes. Via disqualification, Kenny gets his first shot at individual gold.

Cole: Well, Hardcore Holly is not a happy camper here tonight.

Styles: I wouldn’t be either if I were robbed of a title shot via disqualification.

Cole: Well, in our main event tonight, we would certainly hope that doesn’t happen. Our main event, the winner goes against Kurt Angle for the World Heavyweight Championship next week, Bobby Lashley versus Mark Henry, and that’s NEXT!

*Commercial Break*

MAIN EVENT
(winner faces Kurt Angle next week for WHC)
Bobby Lashley v. Mark Henry
Start: The two huge men start with rights and lefts to each other until Lashley headlocks his bigger foe. Lashley is pushed into the ropes and returned with a powerslam. Henry stomps on his smaller foe until he is pulled off by the ref. Henry then sets up Lashley in the corner and continues to pummel the soft-spoken hard-hittin’ superstar.

Mid Match: Henry goes to the opposite corner and splashes onto Bobby-hard. With Lashley still at a vertical base, Henry goes back and tries to splash again. Lashley manages to recover and actually belly-to-bellys Henry over the top rope using Henry’s momentum against him. Henry recovers and the two brawl outside. Henry eventually removes the cover of the announcer’s table and puts Lashley on it. He gets on the other one and splashes onto Bobby, breaking the table.

End: The referee counts to 8, and Bobby’s still KO’d outside the ring. Then, Batista comes in and assaults Henry, thus Henry wins by disqualification. Batista starts to pummel Henry with fists and feet. Batista still delivers a spear and a spinebuster as the show goes off the air.

Styles: OH MY GOD!!! Batista has just beaten the life out of the World’s Strongest Man, here right before our very eyes!

Cole: Yes, but more importantly, Mark Henry will go on to face Kurt Angle next week for the World Heavyweight title!! All because Batista interfered and started pummeling away here!! Well folks, that’s it for this week!! Tune in next time on Friday Night Smackdown with our huge main event. This has been Michaels Cole and Joey Styles, good night fans!!!

END SHOW

Tune in next week! Don’t forget about RAW!
