I'll wait until the previews are posted before leaving predictions as otherwise I would be picking completely blind with me not really knowing too much about what is going on in the thread.
The Summerslam card does look very stacked though (potentially too stacked) so whatever happens the ppv should be full of good matches
Critics have called these 5 men the very best athletes who have walked in to the ring, all for very different reasons.
Some have family ties, Carlito's father is Puerto Rico's most legendary wrestler and his son is carrying on the tradition, beating John Cena of all people in his debut match and for the United States Championship. Carlito took 5 other men to the limit in the Elimination Chamber and has showed the world he can hang with the big guns in this industry but he is going to have to give his all if he wants to gain even more fame. He is going to step into something even more horrific than the Elimination Chamber, he is stepping in to a War... Carlito was establishing a rivalry with Ric Flair but the pair found a friendship and united to battle against the Chairman, Vincent Kennedy McMahon. Carlito has showed his true worth against the McMahons and he will be a very useful ally in WarGames.
Jeff Hardy, the biggest daredevil in sports entertainment. He revolutionised the ladder match with his brother Matt. He has done things no-one has even thought about, be it jump from a balcony to attempting to step through 4 consecutive ladders, no-one has ever had the guts to do what Jeff has done throughout the majority of his life. Jeff is no stranger to success, having won countless titles, including several tag team and Intercontinental titles. WarGames isn't about titles, it is about revenge. Jeff Hardy wants revenge because, after forming a greater bond with Matt Hardy, he was taken away from RAW because of Vince McMahon as Matt refused to **** McMahon. Jeff is now out on a quest for personal redemption and with his daredevil ways nowhere near behind him, his high flying antics may just be a match winning asset...
HBK, The ShowStopper, former member of D-Generation-X. Call him what you will but Shawn Michaels has done it all in this business. From Grand Slam Champion to winning the Royal Rumble from the #1 spot nobody else has accomplished what he has done in the ring. Despite being in ladder matches, elimination chambers and street fights he has never bared witness to the WarGames match. The most brutal wrestling match known to man and HBK has some serious beef with Vince and since Vince has tried to force DX apart HBK will try to force Vince’s head apart. HBK will have his work cut out for him but Shawn Michaels ALWAYS brings his A-Game to the big shows and if one thing is for certain, he will not fail to impress anyone.
Stone Cold Steve Austin’s rivalry with Vincent Kennedy McMahon is unmatched in the sports entertainment business. To call their rivalry personal would be an understatement, Vince has had it in for Austin since day one and since he returned 3 weeks before Vengeance Vince has tried, yet again, to make Stone Cold’s life a living hell, from being put through tables to vicious chair shots Vince has tried his best to deter Austin but Austin is the Texas Rattlesnake and he will make it clear that he wants to kick the holy hell out of Vince McMahon and Austin’s teammates should have the utmost confidence when they get in the ring with Austin because he is one of the very best ass kickers in the business.
The very best.... EVER. There is nothing else to say about Flair other than that he is the best. A 16 time World Champion, greatness has followed him everywhere, from NWA, to WCW and finally to WWE. Flair has never quite reached the big time in the WWE and he is reaching his twilight years but Flair can still put up a fight and this could be his biggest match in the WWE to date. Flair is no stranger to WarGames, competing in the first ever incarnation nearly 20 years ago, his record in the match isn’t the greatest but he still has experience and he will want to wipe out Vince like Vince has wanted to wipe out Flair for the last 3 months.
