Against All Odds Results
Sunday February 11, 2007

NWA World Heavyweight Title:
Abyss© vs. Christian Cage vs. Jeff Jarrett
Abyss came out with the win in the main event with a Black Hole Slam at the 15:34 mark on Cage to retain his NWA World Heavyweight Title

NWA Tag Team Titles:
LAX© vs. Team 3D

LAX retained in this hard fought bout after a Border Toss to Brother Ray by Hernandez at the 8:45 mark. After the match, LAX put Team 3D through tables.

X-Division Title:
Chris Sabin© vs. Petey Williams vs. Syxx Pac

Petey Williams won the X-Division Title in this match. It looked like Sabin had it won after a Cradle Shock on Syxx Pac, but he turned around into the Canadian Destroyer for the victory at the 19:10 mark.

AJ Styles vs. Sting
A very hard fought bout, with Sting picking up the victory in this one at the 10:32 mark after making Styles tap to the Scorpion Deathlock.

Kurt Angle & Christopher Daniels vs. Samoa Joe & Scott Steiner
Kurt and Joe got to pick their partners in this tag team match-up. The finish came after the Angle Slam on Samoa Joe and the Best Moonsault Ever on Steiner for the double pin at the 9:18

Rhino & AMW vs. Serotonin w/Raven
Rhino and AMW dominated this match. They destroyed Serotonin quickly. Harris clotheslined Bentley over the top rope. AMW set up Kazarian for the Death Sentence. Devine tried to break it up but got Gored! They nailed the Death Sentence, and then Storm pinned Kazarian for the win at 4:42. Raven then beat the hell out of each Serotonin member after the match.
Alex Shelley & Austin Starr vs. Jay Lethal & Sonjay Dutt
A very hot tag team competition between both sides in this one. It looked like Dutt & Lethal were about to land a diving combo on Shelley, but Starr pushed them down, and Shelley rolled up Dutt with a handful of tights for the win at 6:49

Senshi vs. Sonny Siaki
A match mostly dominated by the returning Siaki. It looked like it was over, when Siaki was going for a swinging neckbreaker. However, Senshi reversed it and hit him with a super kick. He went to the top and nailed the Warrior’s Way on Siaki for the victory at 7:21

The first iMPACT! will be up within the next week.

And the only way to beat your opponent is to stuff him down a shark's throat, and pin the shark. Wouldn't that be a hoot?"

Thursday Night iMPACT! Preview:

On the first iMPACT! after Against All Odds, we have a stacked show for you. Since there is currently no challenger for the NWA World Heavyweight Title, a challenger will be decided tonight, in a six-man elimination match.

Also, there is a blockbuster main event, with the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Abyss, taking on the X Division Champion, Petey Williams in a non-title contest.

Also, see two superstars make their iMPACT returns, with Sonny Siaki returning, as well as Trytan, with both superstars in action.

At Against All Odds, we didn’t hear much from the Voodoo Kin Mafia. Well tonight on iMPACT, VKM addresses the crowd with a huge announcement.

Also, we will see one member of Serotonin, Johnny Devine, in action. Will he win and get praised by Raven, or lose and get hit several times with a kendo stick if he loses?

What will be the next chapter of the Samoa Joe/Kurt Angle feud? You will find out by tuning into iMPACT this Thursday night!

All this and much more on TNA iMPACT, Thursday, February 15 9:00-11:00, only on Spike TV!

TNA iMPACT! Thursday February 15, 2007

Pyro goes off in the iMPACT Zone, as we are ready for the first iMPACT after the incredible Against All Odds PPV.

Tenay: Ladies and gentlemen welcome to Thursday Night iMPACT! We are live tonight only four days removed from the awesome Against All Odds Pay-Per-View!
West: That’s right, and remember, iMPACT has been made a two-hour show so we’ve got plenty of action here tonight, and fallout from Against All Odds. And ladies and gentlemen get this. Tonight’s iMPACT main event will be champion vs. champion, Abyss vs. Petey Williams!

Samoa Joe’s music hits to a mixed reaction from the crowd.
Penzer: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from The Isle of Samoa, weighing in at 290 pounds, he is the Samoan Submission Machine, Samoa Joe!
Sonny Siaki’s music hits to cheers from the crowd.
Penzer: And his opponent, from Atlanta, Georgia, weighing in at 242 pounds, Sonny Siaki!

Match 1: Samoa Joe vs. Sonny Siaki
Siaki and Joe stare each other down. Siaki goes for a punch, but Joe grabs his fist and throws a punch of his own, knocking Sonny down. Siaki gets up and walks into a kick to the face by Samoa Joe. Siaki gets up and Joe sends him across the ropes and nails a powerslam. Joe hooks the leg.

Siaki kicks out. Sonny gets up. Joe puts him into suplex position. Sonny reverses it and nails a suplex of his own. Joe gets up and Siaki nails him with a flying forearm smash. Joe gets up again, and walks right into a double knee backbreaker! Siaki hooks the leg.

2……………
Samoa Joe kicks out in time. Siaki grabs Joe and shoves him into the turnbuckle. He lifts Joe to the top. Siaki comes with him. Siaki lifts Joe’s shoulder over his head. Siaki nails a superplex from the top rope! Both men are down. Referee Earl Hebner starts the ten count.

Joe lets Siaki kick out. He drags him over to the turnbuckle, and lifts him up onto it. He puts Siaki on the top rope in a sitting position. Joe then grabs Siaki and has him high in the air. Joe drops him with the Muscle Buster! He doesn’t go for the pin, but instead he puts Siaki in the Coquina Clutch! After about eight seconds, Siaki taps out giving Samoa Joe the victory.

Winner: Samoa Joe at 6:12

After the match, Kurt Angle comes down and starts brawling with Samoa Joe! Security comes down and breaks it up. Jim Cornette then comes onto the ramp with a microphone in hand.

Cornette: I am sick of you two fighting all the time! So here is what I am going to do. There is a Pay-Per-View coming up next month, Destination X. So at Destination X, it will be Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe……..in a Full Metal Mayhem Match! I also have one more announcement. Since there is no challenger for the NWA World Heavyweight Title at Destination X, I have decided to set up a six-man elimination match tonight to decide who will face Abyss for the Title at Destination X. Serotonin and Raven walk out of the ring smiling after what they did to Shark Boy and Norman Smiley.

Commercial Break

We return from the commercial break with LAX in the middle of the ring.

Konnan: Ladies and gentlemen, at Against All Odds, you saw the most dominant tag team in all of TNA history retain the NWA Tag Team Championships
Crowd boos.
Konnan: LAX has defeated every tag team that has ever faced us. There is absolutely no team that can possibly defeat Homicide & Hernandez!
Crowd boos some more.
Konnan: Let’s go down the list. AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels, AMW, The Naturals, Team 3D, Shark Boy & Norman Smiley, Lance Hoyt & Ron Killings, and Sonjay Dutt & Jay Lethal. So as you can see, nobody can defeat-
Diamonds in the Rough’s music hits to cheers. Simon Diamond takes a microphone.
Diamond: Hold it right there Konnan. You guys never defeated the Diamonds in the Rough, Elix Skipper and David Young!
Konnan: Those two washed up losers? I mean come on, what have they done in the past year? Absolutely nothing.
Diamond: I have worked hard and long to make these two a great tag team. Maybe they haven’t done much in the last year, but you guys have never beaten them! So I will give you a challenge Konnan. At Destination X, it will be LAX vs. The Diamonds in the Rough for the NWA Tag Team Titles!
Crowd cheers.
Konnan: Fine. But don’t feel bad when your two washed up losers get their asses handed to them at Destination X.

He nails it. Clark is down, but Trytan doesn’t go for the pin. Instead, he picks up Clark and puts him in fireman’s carry position. He then nails an F-5 type move that he calls the T-3. He hooks Clark’s leg.
1………….
2………….
3!

Winner: Trytan at 4:55

After the match, Trytan celebrates in the ring and then leaves to boos from the crowd after an impressive return to TNA.

Commercial Break

We return from the break with Jeremy Borash backstage with “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles.

JB: AJ, tonight you are involved in the six-man elimination match to decide who will face Abyss for the NWA World Heavyweight Title at Destination X. What are your thoughts about tonight’s match?
Styles: My thoughts? Are you serious? I am going to win, and there is no doubt about that! You see, I am facing all losers here in TNA. Sting, a washed up loser, Lance Hoyt, never held the Title before, Jeff Jarrett, past his prime. Rhino, a big fat beast who has no moves, and Christian Cage, never used in WWE, and lucky to have a job here in TNA. The bottom line is, I am the only worthy opponent to face Abyss at Destination X.

We return to the iMPACT Zone as Team3D’s music hits to loud cheers from the crowd.

Ray goes to work on Stevens, nailing him with right hands. He then raises his arm and nails a bionic elbow to the head of Chase Stevens. Stevens falls to the ground holding his head in pain. Ray gets the tag into Devon. Stevens gets up, and walks right into a kick to the gut from Devon. He then lifts him up, and nails him with a powerbomb. He hooks Stevens’ leg.
1………….
2………….
No, Stevens barely kicks out. Devon can’t believe it. He gets up. Andy Douglas walks into the ring. Devon goes after him and clotheslines him. Devon turns around, and Chase Stevens gives him a super kick. Stevens crawls over and makes the tag to Cassidy Riley. Riley comes in and clotheslines Devon. Ray comes in and gets dropkicked out of the ring. Runt runs in and goes for a punch on Riley, but Riley ducks and nails him with a German Suplex. Riley turns around, and gets kicked in the gut by Devon. Brother Devon lifts Riley high in the air for a powerbomb. However, Riley reverses it and nails Devon with a hurricanrana. Riley is on fire. Devon gets up, and Riley delivers a sitout facebuster. Riley goes up to the top rope backwards, possibly looking for a moonsault. He is about to jump on Devon, but Brother Runt comes and crotches him on the top rope. Devon gets up and walks over. He nails the super neckbreaker on Riley. He covers.
1………
2………
Andy Douglas is there to break up the pin. Douglas then knocks Devon down. Douglas goes back to his corner as Riley tags him in, while Devon tags in Brother Runt. Runt comes storming in, but gets met with a spear by Douglas. Ray comes in, but Douglas hits him with a high knee. Riley then comes in and kicks Ray out of the ring. BG James: Are you ready?Crowd cheers.
BG: No, I said Are You READDDDY?
Crowd Cheers.
BG: You know what, screw this.
Kip James: Yeah, you know, people think we are acting like Michael Hickenbottom and Paul Levesque. Well I got news for all these people. We are only because we want to prove who is the better tag team, VKM or DX. And Vince, we want to fight your boys next month at Destination X. We want to see if you can be man enough to fight at Destination X. Shockingly enough, its initials are DX, just like yours. So lets just see if you guys will fight us.
BG: And if you’re not down with that we got two words for ya!

Lovett: But not as talented as us. We are the most underrated tag team in all of-
Shelley: Are you kidding me? You two losers-

Mikey Batts and Jerrelle Clark show up.

Clark: Mikey and me deserve the titles!

Jim Cornette then shows up.

Cornette: Everybody shut up! We will settle this at Destination X, in a Six-team ladder match for the number one contendership. It will be AMW vs. Team3D vs. The Naturals vs. Austin Starr & Alex Shelley vs. Buck Quartermain & Lex Lovett vs. Jerrelle Clark & Mikey Batts! And you know what? Next week, all you guys will be in action. It will be Team3D vs. Buck Quartermain & Lex Lovett, AMW vs. Jerrelle Clark & Mikey Batts, and The Naturals vs. Austin Starr & Alex Shelley! Now good-bye to you all!

Default Re: TNA: RatedDX's Way

Match #1
Nice short opener you put on here. It’s good that you didn’t have Sonny Siaki, well basically, get squashed. For a two hour show, I think you’ve put on a good time mark, opposing a 2-minute match with these two men, who have the talent and ability to put on some worth-watching matches. Also, nice use of Samoa Joe when you mentioned that he let Siaki “kick out”, since it’s obviously typical of him to do such things. And another Joe/Angle feud? That’s great I must say. Hopefully, you’ll use the two well while I their Full Metal Mayhem Match at Destination X (which I’m pretty sure you will ).
Match Rating: *3/4 (would have been higher if longer.)

Match #2
Well, from what I saw, it’s basically a squash, which is fine since I can see you don’t intend on using Shark Boy that much, or even at all. The aftermath gave the whole thing a purpose, that being Serentonin trying to make a statement. With Johnny Devine bring the usual paradigm of a heel to Shark Boy when it comes to squashes, I must say that it was well used if you’re wanting to help him get over.
Match Rating: * (includes squash match usual rating and aftermath.)

Match #3
Trytan’s back? Was McMahon involved in this? Just kidding . Whoa, it appears to be squash matches galore! I’d suggest that you’d place any of the three matches that will be similar in the future further on in the card and have one of the matches that has more significance to it as an opener or so, just to get the crowd hyped. The match itself was good with a typical David vs. Goliath status (I’m assuming; pardon me for not knowing or ever seeing the two men). In the match, I felt that Clark was well used with him getting a good amount of offense and whatnot. Nice typical finish and another nice short match.
Match Rating: *1/2

Match #4
Good ol’ tag team wrestling shown here. But, I felt that Team 3D should of dominated the match more. I saw how you used Andy Douglas in the finals moments of the match to try and finish the match by cleaning house, and it came off nice done. So good job on that one. The match was good for it’s run with all the back and forth action, which undoubtedly added excitement to it. Another good thing was the unpredictability, that being of course, not knowing who was going to win.
Match Rating: **1/2

Match #5
You should always reread your writings before submitting it in. This was the case in the ending of the match where you mentioned that, seemingly, AJ hit Rhino and went on to Powerbomb him, followed by the before-spear crouch. As for the match, I feel that a match that important should of went for at least another five minutes. I was quite shocked to see Sting and Jeff Jarrett (especially Jeff, since I’m sure anyone would of expected him lasting a bit longer) get eliminated so quickly. The brawl they had between them outside and them wanting to tear each other apart, thus leading to the count-out made up for it. Hmmm, possibly a feud between the two in the near future (let’s say, Destination X)? Sounds reasonable to me. Hoyt and Cage filled up time and served their parts well, and the confrontation between Rhino and AJ made perfect sense to have them end the match. I loved seeing the out-of-nowhere moments (such as the Styles Clash on Cage), and just like I mentioned previously, it adds excitement to the match. Right choice to have Rhino win.
Match Rating: ***1/4

Match #6
The main event. A good one, at that. The promo backstage made him seem like an underdog who’s hungry for a victory that will show his opponents at Destination X who they’re dealing with (and also that sort of “Who’s boss” feeling). Good job getting that whole “aspect” together. The match was good like I said, as well as the idea of having a “Champion vs. Champion” match Main Event iMPACT!. I found the match to be enjoyable, since Petey put on a good fight against Abyss. Would have been nice to see a tease with Petey attempting the Canadian Destroyer, though. After the match, it’s good to be seeing Abyss keep strong with not only getting a victory over the X-Division Champion, but also laying out Rhino.
Match Rating: **1/2

The interviews/promos were enjoyable too, especially the VKM one (even though it just still won’t happen, despite HHH being injured unless you’re assuming otherwise).

Overall Show Rating: 80/100

Thumbs up!
