Friday Night SmackDown! - August 11th, 2006; Nashville, Tennessee

This is really how you wanna do it?

R Rated

A video package plays recapping the chaotic events of last week’s show, including the situation surrounding the WWE Tag Team Champions The Bluebloods, The Hooligans and MNM; MARK HENRY’s big return to save JBL from CM Punk and become the newest member of MamaJuana, Inc.; Brent Albright goading Rey Mysterio into granting him a United States Title match at SummerSlam; Kid Kash nailing Jamie Noble from behind with the Cruiserweight Title belt as he was checking on a friend; Mr. Kennedy ruining the Hardy's big return with a vicious attack, before being informed by Stephanie McMahon that he will face Matt and Jeff at SummerSlam along with a partner of his choosing; and finally, the number one contender Bobby Lashley defeats Finlay via count out, before slamming the Irishman through the table to send a message to World Heavyweight Champion Edge, whom he challenges to a match this week…

We then enter the arena, but before anything can be set up for tonight’s show …

***SOME BODIES GONNA GET IT***

There isn’t much of a reaction at first, with the crowd unfamiliar with the entrance music, but soon the heat begins, and I mean it really begins, as John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield emerges from the back waving his hat in the air, flanked as ever by Jillian Hall, Michelle McCool, with all three of them turning to wave out first ‘The Shooter’ Brent Albright, and then, finally, the newest member of MamaJuana, Inc., ‘The World’s Strongest Man’ MARK HENRY. Henry is the only one dressed to compete, as he heads down to the ring, looking mean and nasty as always.

Michael Cole: We are kicking things off from the Music City, Nashville, Tennessee with the WWE’s newest supergroup, John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield’s MamaJuana, Incorporated! And would you take a look at the monster coming down to the ring with them!

Tazz: I think we can pretty much stop the speculation, Cole. Mark Henry is one bad dude, brother … and he’s part of JBL’s group.

The Miz:
That’s right, geniuses! You know how painful it is having to listen to you two morons trying to work it out? Mark Henry is MamaJuana, Incorporated’s newest acquisition … and they don’t get much better than this, baby. Hoorah!!

MamaJuana, Inc. enter the ring, with Bradshaw taking a microphone from Tony Chimel right away. Albright, dressed in jeans and boots, stands in the corner with Michelle, as Jillian bounces () around excitedly with her clipboard, and Henry just stands, arms folded like a bouncer, near the ropes. Waiting for the music to die down, JBL is forced to hesitate due to the boos, before just shouting over them.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Get up off your asses and onto your feet -- greatness stands before you.

~ Big-time heat from the crowd, as the members of MamaJuana, Inc. mill about the ring arrogantly. JBL holds his arms in the air, smiling maniacally, but quickly stops when he hears the “You Suck” chant filtering through, tearing his hat off and waving it at the fans.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Hey, hey!! That’s enough, that’s enough, that’s enough!!

~ This doesn’t really help, even as Albright leaps up to the turnbuckle, angrily pointing at individual members of the audience.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Ha, ha, ha, ha! (Patting Albright on the back) That’s what I like to see.

~ The Shooter steps down, shaking his head and continuing to eyeball particularly mouthy fans.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Now onto business. Tonight … as far as MamaJuana, Incorporated are concerned … I’ve got some good news … and I’ve got bad news.

~ The former WWE Champion hands his hat to Jillian.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
The bad news for you ungrateful people … is that my main Brent Albright here (Points) … arrived to the arena late from a mega session at the gym -- show ‘em the guns, baby, yeah!!

~ Albright flexes and poses to huge heat, as Layfield cheers him on, and both women pretend to swoon.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Ha, ha!! Beautiful, beautiful. Brent Albright arrived late … which means he is not ready to compete yet. Which means you hungry, hungry DOGS are gonna have to wait ‘til later to see The Shooter in action.

~ Crowd boos, as Albright protests to his boss.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
No, no, no, no, baby. Listen up, man, I know… (Points to himself) I know when to put my athletes on the bench, man. You’ve got a big title match comin’ up at SummerSlam. You take it easy ‘til later. We don’t want you gettin’ injured.

~ Nodding reluctantly, The Shooter leans into the mic.

Brent Albright:
I hope Mysterio’s watchin’ my match.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
(Laughing) I do too, Brent, I do too. I hope that little pigmy watches how The Gun For Hire deals … with vermin.

~ Boos.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Now, ladies and gentlemen … (Smirks) the good news.

~ A huge smile plastered on his face, JBL saunters across the ring towards the mean, nasty-looking monster standing at the rear of the gang.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past week -- which wouldn’t surprise me, considerin’ what city we’re in tonight…

~ Cheap heat.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
But just for you ignorant people … (Pointing up) here’s what went down -- ha, ha, ha, ha -- last week…

~ Bradshaw directs our attention up to the titantron…

*Cut to video*

More thunderous cheers ring out, as Punk tries to drag Layfield back in, his fist cocked, ready for the first blow … but the noise from the crowd soon turns to screams … and we cut across…

…to see MARK HENRY, THE WORLD’S STRONGEST MAN, SLIDE INTO THE RING BEHIND PUNK’S BACK!!!

Tazz:
WHAT THE HELL!?

Michael Cole:
THAT’S MARK HENRY!!!

The crowd continues to scream their warnings, but Punk is too caught up with JBL, not hearing the heavy footsteps advancing behind him … as HENRY CRUSHES HIM IN THE CORNER WITH AN AVALANCHE!!!

Michael Cole:
OH NO!!

“Oh’s” and boos ring out, as JBL spills out onto the apron, avoiding the impact, whilst Punk crumples down to the mat in a heap. The fearsome Henry quickly grabs hold of Punk’s leg, dragging him to the middle of the ring with one arm, before backing into the ropes, coming back, JUMPING UP … AND DRIVING ALL OF HIS 400+ LBS DOWN ACROSS PUNK WITH A HUGE SPLASH!!!

Tazz:
AW MAN!!

More “Oh’s” go up, as Punk grabs his ribs, writhing around in agony, with Mark Henry getting back up to his knees, looking very pleased with himself. JBL quickly re-enters, scrambling across and getting right in Punk’s face, screaming at him, “THAT’S WHAT YOU GET, PUNK!! HOW’D YOU LIKE IT!? HUH!? HOW’D YOU LIKE IT!?” Grabbing Henry’s hand, Bradshaw hoists it into the air to ferocious boos, pointing gleefully at the World’s Strongest Man and bouncing up and down like a giddy schoolboy.

*Back to ringside*

The crowd is booing the hell out of what they just saw, as Mark Henry remains completely unmoved, just turning his head back from the screen, as JBL runs around him excitedly.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Yes! Yes! That’s right! (Grabbing Henry) This man right here… this BEHEMOTH -- the STRONGEST man in the WORLD, I might add -- made his official return to Friday Night SmackDown … this time as the NEWEST client of MamaJuana, Incorporated and JBL!!

~ More loud boos ring out, as the other members of MJ, Inc. applaud.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Now … in a treat that you sycophantic slimeballs certainly don’t deserve … Mark Henry right now … is going to make his OFFICIAL in-ring debut!!

~ Henry nods fiercely, as Bradshaw grins.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
But … it’s gonna be a little different.

~ The egomaniacal manager walks towards the ropes, pointing up the ramp.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Y’see, I know that everyone in the SmackDown locker room is AFRAID of ‘The World’s Strongest Man’ Mark Henry … and they SHOULD be!!

~ More heat.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
So right now … we’re gonna see just how brave the boys ‘n’ girls in the back really are … with an open challenge for anybody to come down here … (Pats Henry on the chest) and try this man on for size.

~ Layfield cackles evilly, as all five people in the ring turn to face the stage, awaiting the arrival of whoever is stupid man enough to accept the invitation.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
C’mon. Ha, ha, ha, ha. Don’t tell me everyone’s too sc-- NO!!

~ CM PUNK COMES MARCHING DOWN THE RAMP, receiving a HUGE pop from the crowd, as everyone in the ring goes nuts!!!

John Bradshaw Layfield:
NO, NO, NO, NO!! You- You don’t- You don’t count!!

~ Dressed in his trunks and t-shirt, Punk makes a beeline for the ring, as dozens of referees and backstage workers come flooding down the ramp, instantly surrounding the fiery youngster, preventing him from getting to the ring!!

John Bradshaw Layfield:
No- No way! Get that punk the hell out of here!! He is not included in this challenge!!

~ Both Henry and Albright seem pretty keen for Punk to get in the ring, yelling at him and inviting him inside, with The Shooter even holding the ropes open for him, ignoring the eccentric antics of his agent.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Take him to the back! (Pointing wildly) I have a restraining order pending against you, son!!

~ The various officials manage to back Punk up the ramp, as he points over their heads, bellowing all kinds of jests, threats and insults at the individuals in the ring.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
I’m serious! Get him the hell out of here!! I don’t wanna look at his stupid face anymore!! Get him out here!! To the back!! Now!!

~ Looking absolutely furious, Punk is finally removed through the curtain to the back, to huge heat from the crowd, as JBL breathes a sigh of relief, removing his hat again and getting Michelle to mop his brow.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
(Stammering) O- Okay. (Puts his hat back on) That’s much better. How ‘bout we try that again? (Deep breath, turns) Anybody in the back … open challenge … all you have to do … (Motions) is come on down.

~ The newly proclaimed ‘Managing God’ looks really rather flustered, as he stares up the ramp nervously.

{Michael Cole: This is ridiculous. After what Mark Henry did to CM Punk last week, he should be wrestling him.}

~ After a few moments, an extremely pale-skinned, but rather chubby-looking fellow comes waddling down the ramp enthusiastically.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Okay good, look at this! Here we go!

~ JBL recovers his composure.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Here we go! The world famous powerhouse Danny Ace everybody, let’s hear it for ‘im!!

~ The crowd doesn’t respond much, as the fat youngster slowly clambers up the steel steps onto the apron.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Danny Ace, yes! Danny Ace, welcome.

~ Ace tries to look menacing, as he glances at the waiting World’s Strongest Man.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Yes! You accept the open challenge?

~ Nodding nervously, the big man steps through the ropes and enters the ring.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Good, good, good. Yes, yes, yes. Call your lawyer. (Turns to Henry) Alright, you ready, big guy? He accepts. Alright, let’s do it.

~ JBL, Jillian, Michelle and, very reluctantly, Albright all turn to leave the ring, with Danny Ace stupidly allowing his eyes to follow the sweet asses of the two women … ALLOWING MARK HENRY TO STORM ACROSS THE RING, WIPING THE JOBBER OUT WITH A THUNDEROUS CLOTHESLINE, kick-starting this match!!

1 - Mark Henry w/MamaJuana, Inc.
vs. Danny Ace

The crowd
“Oh’s” loudly at thunderous impact, as the poor jobber is damn-near decapitated by Mark Henry’s massive forearm. As the near 400lber stomps away on his opponent angrily, JBL sings his newest client’s praises from outside. Pulling Ace up, Henry tosses him into the far corner, before charging in, CRUSHING THE JOBBER WITH A THUNDEROUS AVALANCHE SPLASH!!!

More “ooh’s” and “ah’s” echo out around the building, as Henry backs off … BEFORE SQUASHING ACE A SECOND TIME!! The skinny young local is out on his feet, but Henry, encouraged by his new manager, pulls him up, before FLATTENING HIM WITH A THIRD AVALANCE IN THE CORNER!!!

More
“Oh’s” ring out, as the super aggressive World’s Strongest Man pulls the almost lifeless Danny Ace out and LAUNCHES HIM HALF-WAY ACROSS THE RING WITH A MONSTROUS BEAL!!

Bradshaw is almost crying with laughter at ringside, as he removes his hat to wipe his eyes, enjoying the terrified
“ooh’s” and “ah’s” of the fans. Dragging Ace’s carcass back up, Henry scoops him into his arms like a child, letting out a monstrous roar, before DRILLING HIM WITH THE WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM!!!

Another outpouring of
“Oh’s” goes up, as Henry remains across his victim, mercifully ending this thing. 1... 2... Henry PULLS HIS OPPONENT UP, shaking his head and gritting his teeth viciously!!

JBL laughs, as he checks his watch, letting the nearby camera know, “Yeah, yeah, we got time, we got time.” Looking about as pissed off as man can be, Henry drags his limp victim back up, lifting him up once again, and DESTROYING THE MAN WITH A SECOND WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM!!!

The ring shakes from the impact, as Henry covers, and the referee hurriedly counts. 1... 2... 3!!

Winner - Mark Henry via pinfall at 0:55.

And it’s over. In less than a minute, Mark Henry demolishes his opponent. Sitting back up to his knees, the World’s Strongest Man glares out, receiving quite a bit of heat from this crowd. Back on the mic already, JBL is scrambling up the steel steps gleefully, smiling from ear-to-ear.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
YES! YES! (Enters the ring) GET ON YOUR FEET AND WORSHIP THIS MAN!!

~ The crowd boos loudly, as Bradshaw grabs hold of Henry’s hand, raising it high into the air.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Knees!! (Points down) Now get down on your knees and HAIL!! HAIL THE WORLD’S STRONGEST MAN!!

~ More boos, as the other members of MamaJuana, Inc. enter the ring to congratulate their newest teammate.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
There’s NOBODY stronger than hi--

***DOMINATOR***

Tazz:
What the … hell?

A HUGE mixed reaction and a collective “Oh” grips the arena, as JBL whirls around in fright, with Henry, Albright and co. all looking surprised too … as the number one contender to the World’s Heavyweight Championship, ‘The Real Deal’ BOBBY LASHLEY comes stomping down the ramp angrily, with his agent Paul Heyman trotting by his side like a faithful dog.

Michael Cole:
It’s Bobby Lashley!!

Tazz:
Holy crap, Cole!!

The Miz:
What- What’s he doing out here!?

Dressed to compete, with a closefitting, black ‘Pain’ t-shirt over the top, Lashley wastes little time in getting down to the ring. Michelle and Jillian immediately bail, with JBL forcing Albright and Henry to do the same, as The Real Deal leaps up onto the apron and enters the ring, prowling around the squared circle like a caged lion. Smiling smugly, Heyman takes his time strolling up the steps, before entering the ring and walking right up to Tony Chimel, taking the mic out of his hand.

Tazz:
Is it too late to take the open challenge?

The Miz:
Yes it’s too late, Tazz, you moron! Mark Henry’s already wrestled! Doesn’t- Isn’t Lashley already wrestling tonight anyway? … Twice?

MamaJuana, Inc. make their way around to the foot of the ramp with Henry and Albright exchanging deathly glares and gestures with Bobby Lashley, and Layfield looking flustered as hell. With the big man’s music fading, Paul E. steps forward, waving at the fleeing group outside the ring and bringing the mic up.

Paul Heyman:
How are you doing, John? (Points) I don’t what you’re doing all the way out there?

~ Bradshaw flails his hands dismissively at his fellow agent.

Paul Heyman:
You’ve been doing pretty well for yourself lately. (Nods) Got yourself quite an army haven’t you?

~ The crowd boos, as Layfield puffs out his chest arrogantly, smirking around at the fans.

Paul Heyman:
And believe me … we’re ALL impressed by Mark Henry. He’s a strong, strong man.

~”He’s the strongest!” yells JBL, grabbing Henry’s hand and hoisting it into the air once more, receiving another ton of heat.

Paul Heyman:
But, uh… (To Lashley) this guy’s no ham ‘n’ egger himself y’know.

~ The crowd “ooh’s” and “ah’s” excitedly, as Lashley and Henry lock eyes, and Bradshaw swallows nervously.

Paul Heyman:
And so … (At Henry) if you want to fight … (At Lashley) and he wants to fight … I say we do this right now!!

~ A THUNDEROUS pop goes up, with the Nashville fans eager to see this proverbial ‘Clash of the Titans’ (not the shitty film). Lashley continues to look menacing in the ring, as Henry points up at him threateningly, bellowing, “YOU WANT ME, BOY!?” The World’s Strongest Man takes a step back towards the ring, but JBL quickly jumps in front of him, blocking his client and waving his arms around like a lunatic.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! I don’t think so! (To Henry) You don’t wanna do this. Okay? We’re gonna wait until there’s money on the line. You’re not gonna fight this guy.

~ Big-time heat, as Layfield turns back to face the ring, pointing up at Heyman.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
I don’t think so, Paulie! This ain’t ECW, pal. You still think you’re the best agent in this business? Guess again, buddy… (Holds his arm in thr air) ‘cause you’re lookin’ at the new JERRY MAGUIRE of World Wrestlin’ Entertainment right here!!

~ Crowd boos, as Jillian and Michelle go wild.

John Bradshaw Layfield:
No way, baby, no way! We’re gonna hold out. We’re gonna hold out. (Back to Heyman) There is no way that this man is getting in the ring with (At Lashley) that lunatic until the money is to my liking or… (Smiles) or he wins the World Heavyweight Title.

~ Another mixed reaction, as Paul E. mutters to his client, “You will.”

John Bradshaw Layfield:
(Looking around at the fans) Cheer all you want. It ain’t gonna hap—WOAH!!!

~ CM PUNK ATTACKS MAMAJUANA, INC. ON THE RAMP!!!

Tazz:
WOAH!!

The crowd goes NUTS, as Punk grabs hold of Brent Albright, HURLING HIM INTO THE BARRICADE WITH AUTHORITY!!

The Miz:
OH, COME ONE, WHAT THE HELL!?

Mark Henry CHARGES … BUT PUNK DUCKS … AND LAYS INTO THE BIG MAN WITH RIGHT HANDS, KNOCKING HIM BACK UP THE RAMP!!

Michael Cole:
CM PUNK HAS SEEN ENOUGH!!

The crowd goes wild, as JBL does his best to keep his distance from the vengeful Punker, looking on in horror as Punk and Henry brawl all the way up the ramp, across the stage and through the curtain to the back!!!

Michael Cole:
This is- This is chaotic out here!!

Tazz:
Place is goin’ NUTS, Cole!

Jillian and Michelle go running after them, as JBL is caught in two minds halfway up the ramp, looking from them to the writhing Albright. He yells, “Come on, Brent!! Come on, baby, we gotta’ go!!” Scrambling back up to his feet clutching his shoulder, The Shooter staggers back up the ramp to join his boss, and the two men go charging to the back!!

The Miz:
(Standing up) Yeah, yeah, go get him, boys, go get him!!

Tazz:
Aren’t you gonna go help?

The Miz:
Uh… later.

The crowd is still going wild, as we cut back to the ring, where Lashley remains impassive, whilst Heyman has a rather amused expression on his face. He waits a few moments for the noise to die down before speaking again.

Paul Heyman:
Well … seeing as we’re already out here…

~ He whispers something to Lashley, getting a nod from his client, before pointing up the ramp.

Paul Heyman:
… Hey, Matt Hardy … looks like Mr. Kennedy chose my client here as your opponent tonight.

~ Mixed reaction for this.

Paul Heyman:
Why don’t you come out here right now … and we’ll try and make it as … (Smirks) quick and… uh… painless as possible?

~ The crowd becomes excited, as The Real Deal tears off his shirt, flings it aside and begins bouncing on his toes in anticipation…

***LIVE FOR THE MOMENT***

Another HUGE response comes from the fans, as MATT HARDY rushes out onto the stage, throwing his arm into the air with his usual taunt. He soon gets more serious once he see who is awaiting him down in the ring and takes a deep breath before heading on down, slapping hands with the fans along the way.

Michael Cole:
Just listen to this crowd!! What an ovation for Matt Hardy, who reunites with his brother in just over two weeks at SummerSlam to face Mr. Kennedy and a mystery partner!! But tonight, he’s got Kennedy’s choice of opponent, and that man is the number one contender to the World Heavyweight Title, Bobby Lashley!! What a match this is going to be! Don’t go anywhere! We’ll be right back!!

{Commercials}

2 - Bobby Lashley w/Paul Heyman
vs. Matt Hardy

It’s a very cagey opening from the two men, with Hardy taking care to not get drawn into a power game with the monstrous Real Deal, staying on his toes, avoiding getting cornered. Lashley catches Hardy as he comes off the ropes though … only for Matt to roll over his shoulders, catching the big man with a surprise Sunset Flip! 1... 2... NO! Back up to his feet quickly, Lashley scoops Hardy up onto his shoulder, perhaps thinking RUNNING POWERSLAM -- BUT HARDY SLIDES OFF - SCHOOL BOY!! 1... 2... NO!

Lashley is out quickly again, but this time Hardy cinches in a side headlock, trying to slow the explosive number one contender down. Simply too powerful, Lashley is able to quickly shove Hardy away into the corner chest-first, catching him as he staggers out, HURLING HIM OVERHEAD WITH AN EXPLODER SUPLEX!!

The crowd
“ooh’s” and “ah’s” at the immense strength of The Real Deal, as he pulls the dazed Hardy back up and TOSSES HIM INTO THE STEEL RING POST SHOULDER-FIRST!!

As the
“Oh’s” ring out, the ruthless Lashley simply pulls Matt out of the corner and RAMS HIM INTO THE STEEL ONCE AGAIN, doing more damage to the shoulder!!

More
“ooh’s” and “ah’s” echo out, as Lashley intimidates the official back across the ring to laughter, before pulling Hardy out and going to work on the injured arm. Grounding the fast-paced high-flyer, Lashley works over the arm, trying to wear his opponent down, as the duelling “Hardy” and “Lashley” chants begin around the arena.

This goes on for a while, with Matt making numerous comeback attempts, but his focused opponent cutting them off each time and maintaining control of the arm. Eventually though, Hardy is able to find enough of a vertical base to wrap his free arm around Lashley’s head, leap up, and CONNECT WITH A JAWBREAKER - BREAKING THE HOLD!!

Some of the crowd cheers, as Lashley shakes his head, trying to clear the cobwebs, before going back after his opponent. Hardy can only get in a few licks, before he’s quickly taken back down to the canvas, with Lashley applying yet another hold to the arm, looking for the submission. Once again, Hardy is able to battle back up to his feet momentarily … before LASHLEY DROPS HIM WITH A QUICK DDT!! The crowd
“Oh’s”, as the beast makes a cover. 1... 2... NO!

Hardy kicks out, but Lashley goes right back to the arm. The groans and moans of the youngster from Cameron, North Carolina are clearly audible, as his arm is wrenched and pulled, almost forcing him to submit on numerous occasions. But he doesn’t. Just like his t-shirt says, Matt Hardy will not die. He manages to scramble into the ropes, forcing Lashley to break the hold, giving himself a little reprieve.

As Hardy crawls under the ropes, sitting on the ring apron massaging his shoulder, Lashley reaches over, grabbing a handful of his long hair and pulling him up … BUT HARDY COUNTERS - SNAPPING LASHLEY ACROSS THE TOP ROPE THROAT-FIRST!!

The crowd cheers, as Lashley staggers away, whilst Hardy wanders over to the turnbuckle. He drills the oncoming Real Deal with a few shoulder thrusts to the mid-section, knocking him away and doubling him over, before gingerly heading up top. As the crowd buzzes, Hardy perches on the top turnbuckle, waiting for his opponent to turn, before LEAPING OFF - DRIVING THE AXE HANDLE ACROSS LASHLEY’S SKULL, DROPPING HIM!!

More cheers, but Lashley is only dropped to a knee, and is back up quickly, shoving Hardy away into the ropes and lowering his head for a back body drop … but Matt kicks him in the face! Lashley reels, stunned by the blow, allowing Hardy to quickly grab him, sending him through the ropes to the floor.

The Real Deal tumbles to the floor, slapping the ground angrily with his fists. Still favouring his right arm, Hardy heads out onto the apron, where he takes a run up, before DIVING OFF AT HIS OPPONENT -- BUT LASHLEY CATCHES HIM IN MID-AIR!! Yet more
“ooh’s” and “ah’s” go up, as the monstrous Lashley throws the helpless Matt over his shoulder, turning, and LOOKING TO DRIVE HIM INTO THE RING POST -- BUT HARDY SLIDES OFF - AND SHOVES LASHLEY INTO THE STEEL FACE-FIRST!!!

As the “Oh’s” ring out, Lashley reels, and Hardy grabs him, BOUNCING HIS HEAD OFF THE STEEL A SECOND TIME!!!

Now the big man looks a little dazed, as Hardy quickly rolls him back inside the ring. Lashley dazedly staggers back up to his feet and takes a wild swing, which his opponent easily ducks, DRILLING HIM WITH THE SIDE EFFECT!! 1... 2... NO!

Lashley powers out, but is still having some difficulty regaining his senses after the shots to the head. Hardy does a bit more damage down on the mat, before the referee pulls him off, giving the number one contender enough time to recover.

The Real Deal pulls himself back up and turns … kick to the gut … TWIST OF FATE -- no, Lashley shoves him away into the corner. Lashley charges … but gets kicked in the mush for his troubles, knocking him away. With his opponent backpedalling, Hardy quickly nips up to the second turnbuckle, LEAPING OFF -- BUT LASHLEY CLOBBERS HIM OUT OF MID-AIR WITH A HUGE CLOTHESLINE!!!

More “Oh’s” ring out, as Lashley, after wiping the saliva from his mouth, falls into the cover.

1...

2...

NO!!

Hardy grabs the bottom rope, frustrating The Real Deal, who quickly pulls him into the middle of the ring and goes down for another cover … BUT HARDY CATCHES HIM WITH AN INSIDE CRADLE!!!

1...

2...

NO!!

Gasps and groans echo out, as Hardy was very close to becoming only the second man to ever pin Bobby Lashley. He quickly snatches the monster in a side headlock, but Lashley shoves him away into the corner. Lashley charges, but Hardy moves out of the way, and the beast collides with the top turnbuckle!

Quickly seizing his opportunity, Hardy hammers away on the killer in the corner, climbing the second and raining down the blows … but Lashley SUDDENLY LIFTS HIM UP - THROWING HARDY UP INTO THE AIR - AND HARDY COMES DOWN ACROSS THE TURNBUCKLE - SMACKING HIS HEAD ON THE TOP OF THE STEEL RING POST!!!

The crowd
“ooh’s”and “ah’s”, as Hardy lies across the top turnbuckle, almost out of it, slowly crumpling back into the ring … WHERE LASHLEY CUTS HIM IN HALF WITH A THUNDEROUS SPEAR!!!

Another explosion of
“Oh’s” fills the arena, as Matt Hardy is sent careering across the ring from the impact, whilst Lashley pops right back up to his feet, motioning that it’s over. Dragging the likely unconscious Hardy up by his shaggy hair, Lashley throws him over his shoulder, and DRILLS HIM WITH THE DOMINATOR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING!!!

At this point it’s academic, with Hardy flat on his back, legs splayed out all around him, with Lashley falling into the cover. 1... 2... 3!!

Winner - Bobby Lashley via pin fall at 9:02.

It’s a mixed reaction for the result, as Lashley quickly gets back up to his feet, shoving the referee away when he tries to raise his hand. Heyman giddily rolls inside the ring, clapping his hands and smiling from ear-to-ear, as Hardy slowly crawls away into the far corner looking rather dazed; the referee checking to see if he’s okay.

*Backstage - Interview Area*

We open up with a close-up shot of the nameplate of the World Heavyweight Title belt, which reads, of course, ‘Edge’, before slowly panning out to reveal first the entire belt, before finally the man himself. Edge is dressed in his black wrestling tights, black ‘Rated R’ t-shirt and holds the belt over his shoulder with his arms folded, not looking terribly impressed at all, tapping his foot impatiently, as Steve Romero stands next to him fumbling with a microphone.

Steve Romero:
Okay, right now I’m being joined by the World Heavyweight Champion Edge, who, later tonight, will meet Bobby Lashley, the man who challenges him in just two weeks time at SummerSlam, in a non-title … unsanctioned … fight.

~ The crowd cheers in the background, as Edge rolls his eyes.

Steve Romero:
Champ, I have to ask … why on earth did you agree to this match tonight?

~ The look on Edge’s face is priceless, as he stares down at the interviewers with wide, crazy eyes.

Edge:
What? You think- You think I should be afraid of Bobby Lashley!?

Steve Romero:
I just think--

Edge:
You think I should- You think I should … run away and hide under my bed!?

Steve Romero:
That’s not--

Edge:
Why? (Scoffs) Because he- Because he beat Batista and The Undertaker? (Shrugs) Who hasn’t? That’s no big deal. You don’t hear me bragging about it.

~ Boos from the crowd, as the World Champion shakes his head.

Edge:
Y’know something… I just can’t win can I? I don’t take a match … you all get on my back. I take a match … and guess what? … You STILL all get on my back.

~ More heat.

Edge:
I think I’ve proved time and time again since winning (Pats his belt) this belt that I am a fighting champion. (Points) Ask- Ask Batista. Ask Rey Mysterio. The Undertaker, Nitro, Super Crazy, Jamie Noble, Matt Hardy, Finlay, ask ‘em all!!

~ Edge rubs his beard angrily.

Edge:
Did I fight them? (Eye narrow) Did I beat them? So why the HELL would I be scared of big … dumb … ROOKIE … like Bobby Lashley?

~ Romero’s eyes widen with surprise, as the crowd “ooh’s” and “ah’s” at the insult.

Edge:
He’s looked good since debuting last September, I’ll give him that. He’s risen… he’s risen to the top pretty quick. (Mock applause) In less than a year he’s getting his first World Title match on pay-per-view.

~ Edge quickly stops clapping, staring into the camera.

Edge:
Do you know how long it took me to get a title shot on pay-per-view, Bobby? (Through gritted teeth) Do you know how LONG I had to scratch and claw and pay my dues to get even a portion of what you’ve just… you’ve just walked right into?

~ Trying the hold the mic steady, Romero swallows nervously.

Edge:
Do you know how PISSED OFF I get when I see you getting everything handed to you on a plate!?

~ Mixed reaction.

Edge:
Well you’re gonna know. (Nodding)In fact … you’re gonna find out later tonight just how much this(Holds his belt up) really means.

~ With another furious stare at both the camera and the interviewer, the World’s Heavyweight Champion storms off set to another mixed response.

*Back to ringside*

We are on the podium alongside the stage where the WWE Tag Team Champions William Regal and Paul Burchill, The Bluebloods are standing, along with Melina and Dave Taylor, being roundly booed by the crowd. Regal, Burchill and Taylor all wear dark suits, with Regal and The Ripper holding their title belts like trophies, and Burchill sporting a rather nice leather jacket over the top. Melina is adorned a lovely, long yellow dress, as Josh Matthews stands by with a microphone.

Josh Matthews:
Ladies and gentlemen, you see ‘The Ripper’ Paul Burchill … along with William Regal … the WWE Tag Team Champions The Bluebloods … who last week retained their title in very controversial--

Dave Taylor:
(Interrupting) ‘Ang on a second, mate.

Josh Matthews:
What?

Dave Taylor:
I don’t see why you couldn’t just say that they retained the title … (Prodding Matthews angrily) because that’s exactly what they did. I’ve been training these two to be champions almost their entire lives … (Points to the belts) and there you see ‘em … there’s the belts … there’s the WWE Tag Team Title right there … that’s all you need to be saying, sunshine.

~ Taylor flings Matthews back, before pointing to Regal’s robe.

Dave Taylor:
I think the crest right here says it all … (Points) that’s the Union Flag for all you ponces out there … that’s the real symbol of excellence ‘ere in professional wrestling.

~ Boos, as Regal pompously raises a finger in to the air, nodding, before stepping to the mic.

William Regal:
You know, Joshua … (Nods in the direction of the ring) I heard what was being said earlier by your broadcast colleagues over there…

~ Quick shots of Cole, Tazz and Miz all looking slightly nervous.

William Regal:
Michael Cole and… ugh… (Screws his face up) Tazz … degrading us … making all kinds of outlandish insinuations about how we retained out title last week.

~ Shot of Miz laughing at his colleagues.

William Regal:
But do you know what I don’t hear them discussing? Do you know what they seem to have conveniently forgotten about in the midst of their xenophobic prejudices?

~ Matthews shakes his head dumbly.

William Regal:
They seem to have forgotten that after the match was over … for no apparent reason … those…(Angrily) those insufferable little bleeders MNM decided to interfere in our business and attack us!

~ Ironic pop, as Regal looks down his nose at the rude fans.

William Regal:
And now… and now they have the audacity… the CHEEK … to lobby for a title shot at SummerSlam … to try and worm their way into what is already … an unjust rematch.

~ Burchill, Taylor and Melina all nod.

William Regal:
We’ve beaten London and Kendrick TWICE now … and yet… and yet Ms. McMahon deems them worthy of another opportunity.

~ Crowd cheers.

William Regal:
Ms. McMahon … Stephanie … (Smirks) young lady … we’re starting to lose out patience with you. There’s only so much a man can take… (Nods to his partner) even two proper gentlemen such as myself and Paul Burchill… there’s only so much we can take … before even we … start to lash out. If you continue to back us into a corner … then you shouldn’t be surprised … when you don’t like the result.

~ More heat.

William Regal:
We know how to play dirty … (Looks around the arena in disgust) just as well as any Americans.

~ Big-time boos, as Regal calmly adjusts his necktie.

William Regal:
MNM … Hooligans … you are officially being given … (Smirks, pointing) a gentlemen’s warning.

~ “Ooh’s” and “ah’s” and boos ring out, as Regal steps back, glaring at the fans around him, whilst Matthews turns to Burchill, holding the mic up to the tall Englishman.

Paul Burchill:
They’re called consequences, Josh Matthews. We are the WWE Tag Team Champions. (Holds up his belt) We call the shots. And when you persist in getting in our faces … then you should know that there WILL be serious consequences.

~ The Ripper turns, pointing down at the ring.

Paul Burchill:
Starting tonight…

~ With the interview over, the Englishmen shove Matthews out of the way and begin to head towards the ramp…

***PAPARAZZI***

A pretty good pop goes up, as The Bluebloods stop dead in their tracks, and JOEY MERCURY AND JOHNNY NITRO, MNM, walk out onto the stage ahead of their scheduled match.

Tazz:
Uh … oh.

There’s instant tension between the two teams, with Regal sarcastically applauding the former champions from the safety of the podium and all four men just continue to bicker and talk trash.

Waving the pompous Englishmen off, Nitro and Mercury decide to head down to the ring … but REGAL SUDDENLY CLAMBERS UP ONTO THE STAGE AND CHARGES … BUT NITRO SEES HIM COMING AND LAYS INTO HIM WITH RIGHT HANDS!!

Michael Cole:
HEY!! Look at this!! Regal with the cheap shot, but he’s caught!!

The crowd goes WILD, and Burchill quickly hits the scene, only for Mercury to grab hold of him, pummelling him with a flurry of blows!!

The Miz:
You can’t do that to the champs!!

Both Bluebloods get knocked down with right hands, stumbling stupidly back up to their feet and eating a pair of kicks, sending the WWE Tag Team Champions quickly rolling off the ramp on opposite sides and out of harm’s way, looking extremely pissed off and flustered!!

Michael Cole:
The Bluebloods’ plan just… it completely backfired on them!!

The Miz:
What “plan”, Michael Cole!? Mercury and Nitro jumped them for no good reason!!

The crowd continues to cheer for MNM, who stand tall on the ramp, whilst Burchill thinks about climbing back up, with Dave Taylor making him think otherwise, waving his hand at the two A-Listers, saying, “Forget about ‘em, mate. Forget about ‘em. They’re nothing.” Melina tries to do the same to Regal on the other side of the ramp, flailing their hands at the men on the ramp and heading to the back, the lovely lady checking her man for any signs of injury.

Michael Cole:
And look at this … with their tails between their legs…

Once The Bluebloods are out of sight, Mercury and Nitro continue on down to the ring, looking extremely pumped up now, as a pair of pale-skinned young men wait for them.

3 - Tag Team Match

MNM
vs. Rory Gregory & Jesse Fulton

Mercury starts things out for his team, completely dominating poor Rory Gregory, before making the tag to Nitro. The sends Gregory into the ropes, before wiping him out with a pair of reverse elbows. Nitro actually allows the youngster to tag in his partner, but Jesse Fulton doesn’t have much luck either, getting completely dominated, before another tag is made to Mercury.

It’s really quite easy, as Mercury sends Fulton into the ropes, catching him on the way back and lifting him up onto his shoulder, with Nitro grabbing holding of his head and SPIKING IT INTO THE MAT WITH THE SNAPSHOT!!! The crowd cheers, as Mercury calmly rolls the beaten man over and covers him. 1... 2... 3!!

Winners - MNM via pinfall at 0:53.

The crowd cheers and the triumphant team raise their hands in victory. The referee tries to get in between them to make it official…

…BUT REGAL AND BURCHILL SUDDENLY HIT THE RING, ATTACKING BOTH NITRO AND MERCURY!!!

Michael Cole:
HEY!!

Tazz:
WOAH!!

Michael Cole:
Another sneak attack from the champions!!

The crowd boos the HELL out of the tag team champions, as Burchill tosses Nitro to the floor, whilst Regal viciously hammers away on Mercury!! He pulls him up, holding him in position for The Ripper to get in a few unprotected shots to the face!!

Michael Cole:
They’ve got- They’ve got Mercury on his own!!

Dropping him down, Burchill quickly grabs hold of Mercury’s legs, muscling him up in the wheelbarrow position and holding him out, as Regal runs across the ring, hitting the ropes, coming back and DRILLING MERCURY WITH THE KNEE TREMBLER RIGHT TO THE TEMPLE!!!

Tazz:
OH!!

“Oh’s” ring out, as Mercury goes down hard, probably unconscious, with Burchill continuing to stomp away on him! Nitro tries to get back in the ring, but Regal kicks him off the apron, before running over to join his partner in assaulting the lifeless Joey Mercury! The crowd continues to scream, as Nitro finally slides into the ring, this time wielding A STEEL CHAIR, sending the tag team champions running for their lives!!

Michael Cole:
AND LOOK AT ‘EM RUN!! REGAL AND BURCHILL MAKE ME SICK!!

The crowd roars, as Nitro smacks the weapon off the ropes, narrowly missing the fleeing Englishmen, who regroup on the floor, smirking and pointing up at the men in the ring aggressively. Dave Taylor is back out to join them, patting them on the back, as Nitro tries to check on his unconscious partner, all the while wary of The Bluebloods’ presence still at ringside…

???:
(Clears throat) Uh… excuse me for a second!

~ The boos turn to a mixed reaction, as everyone’s attention is turned up to the stage, including the smug, breathless Bluebloods…

…as STEPHANIE MCMAHON walks out holding a microphone and pointing down at the ring.

Stephanie McMahon:
I hate to ruin this little… uh… (Air quotes) ‘party’, gentlemen … but I have an announcement to make.

~ Burchill looks at his partner, but Regal can only shrug.

Stephanie McMahon:
Regal … Burchill … (Smiles) you’ve just made my decision for me.

~ The Englishmen look even more confused now.

Stephanie McMahon:
If Johnny Nitro can beat (Points) you … Regal…

~ Regal’s eyes open wide.

Stephanie McMahon:
… then MNM are OFFICIALLY ADDED to the WWE Tag Team Title match at SummerSlam!!

~ A THUNDEROUS pop goes up, as The Bluebloods go absolutely NUTS on the ramp, throwing a complete hissy fit; tearing off their ties and jackets, flinging them down and yelling, “WHAT!? WHAT!?” over and over again, as Steph smirks.

Stephanie McMahon:
Oh… and, Will?

~ Trembling with rage, Regal looks back up at his boss.

Stephanie McMahon:
That match is going to be … NO DISQUALIFICATION!!

~ Another BOOMING cry goes up for the crowd, as Regal closes his eyes and looks to the heavens, muttering to himself in disbelief, as Burchill and Taylor look on in horror, and Nitro begins to get very excited back inside the ring.

Stephanie McMahon:
And another thing … Paul?

~ Burchill steps forwards, hands on hips aggressively.

Stephanie McMahon:
I don’t want to see you anywhere near ringside, okay?

~ More cheers, as The Ripper scowls petulantly.

Stephanie McMahon:
I… I don’t what you’re still doing here, Burchill. Didn’t I mention that this match is happening RIGHT … NOW!! (Waves) Ring the bell!!

~ The crowd absolutely ERUPTS, as Regal’s wide open as wide as bowls with fright, and Nitro pumps his fist excitedly in the ring!!

The Miz:
WHAT!?

Michael Cole:
YEAH!!

Tazz:
What a great decision by Steph!!

A group of medical personnel are in the ring now tending to Mercury, and Nitro bends down, speaking to them, before turning back and pointing threateningly at the petrified veteran at the foot of the ramp. Dave Taylor tries to reassure his men by grabbing them in a group huddle … but yet more backstage officials come down the ramp, yelling at Burchill that he has to go to the back!!

Tazz:
So long, Burchill.

The Miz:
Shut up, Tazz, that’s not funny!

The crowd cheers loudly, as The Ripper is reluctantly led away, leaving Taylor watching him, and Regal, looking as though his dog just died, holding his head in his hands…

Michael Cole:
OH MY GOODNESS!! NITRO FINALLY GETS HIS HANDS ON REGAL!! IT’S NO DISQUALIFICATION … AND IT’S NEXT!! DON’T GO AWAY!!

3 - No Disqualification Match

Johnny Nitro
vs. WWE Tag Team Champion William Regal w/Dave Taylor
*If Nitro wins, MNM are added to the WWE Tag Team Title match at SummerSlam; Both Joey Mercury and Paul Burchill are barred from ringside*

The crowd is hot for this one, with Johnny Nitro finally getting his hands on the pompous Englishman after months and months of waiting. Despite being caught by surprise, Regal looks fairly confident himself, letting referee Charles Robinson know that anything goes in this one,
“Don’t even think about disqualifying me, sunshine.” He starts to talk trash to Nitro, sticking his finger right in the youngster’s face … but Nitro is having none of it, firing away on the tag team champion with a flurry of right hands, bringing the crowd to their feet, sending Regal scrambling out to the floor!!

As the fans cheer, Nitro continues to hammer away on the veteran at ringside, knocking for a loop, before re-entering the ring, screaming for his opponent to come and fight him, as Regal staggers around the floor in a daze, clutching his eye and bumping into things. The Englishman reacts angrily, storming back into the ring … but gets overwhelmed by another pummelling courtesy of his fiery opponent!

Nitro sends Regal into the corner and charges in … but catches a knee to the chest, knocking him away.

Now it’s the veteran who takes control, finally getting in some offense, as he beats his high-flying rival down. Quickly pulling Nitro up, Regal applies the front facelock, lifts him up for a Vertical Suplex, BOUNCING HIM OFF THE TOP ROPE - GOING FOR A SLINGSHOT SUPLEX -- BUT NITRO LANDS ON HIS FEET BEHIND HIM - CATCHING REGAL WITH AN O’CONNOR ROLL!! 1... 2... NO!

Regal bursts out of the pinning predicament, only to be knocked right back down on his backside and sent rolling out of the ring. With the crowd fully behind the pretty boy standing tall in the squared circle, Regal fumes on the outside, trying to regain his composure, with Dave Taylor giving him a few words of advice.

Back in the ring, the chants of
“USA” start to get under the skin of the snobbish champion, who looks at this partisan crowd with utter disdain. He manages to get on top of the contest again, taking the fight to Nitro and sending him across the ring. Regal lowers his head to early though, and Nitro quickly grabs it, DRIVING HIM INTO THE CANVAS FACE-FIRST WITH A MODIFIED X-FACTOR!!

The crowd
“ooh’s” and “ah’s”, as Regal goes down clutching his face, with his opponent still all over him, letting out months and months of frustration. Regal once again escapes to the floor, trying desperately to get his bearings, as the referee tries to maintain some order.

Dave Taylor quickly tosses something to his fellow countryman, which Regal sneakily stuffs in his trunks.

Nitro gets his opponent back in the ring and has him in the corner with his back to the ring … not seeing Regal reach into his trunks … as he spins the Englishman around … and REGAL GOES TO THE EYES, USING WHATEVER THAT THING WAS, BLINDING JOHNNY NITRO!!

More
“ooh’s” and “ah’s” ring out, as Regal shoves the weapon back in his trunks, taking advantage of the no disqualification rules. Nitro is in a lot of trouble, as he writhes around on the deck, and Regal is able to take full control of the match, working the athletic youngster over, before tossing him over the top rope to the floor.

The punishment continues out there, with Regal is full command. Nitro starts to fight back though, slugging the Briton in the gut with a series of hard rights, bringing the crowd to their feet … but Regal quickly grabs him, FLINGING HIM BACKWARDS - SMACKING INTO THE STEEL RING POST FACE-FIRST!!!

More “Oh’s” go up, as the former three-time WWE Tag Team Champion goes down in a heap, clutching that pretty face of his.

Regal re-enters the ring and stands in the middle, actually waving to the fans, getting about as much heat as his humanly possible for his villainous awesomeness.

He doesn’t spend too much time showboating though, as he quickly heads back out after his dazed, groggy foe, really laying into him, as we are forced to go to a commercial…

Commercial

Back from the break, and Johnny Nitro is back on the ascendency, trying to get hold of his opponent, pulling him back through the ropes by his trunks. Regal goes to the leg though, clipping Nitro’s previously damaged knee, and sending him scrambling across the ring in pain.

The savvy Englishman goes right after the injury, working over the man’s knee, applying a version of the INDIAN DEATHLOCK, whilst rolling Nitro up at the same time, grabbing a blatant handful of tights, and reaching back with his other hand for Dave Taylor to grab hold of, adding even more taught. 1... 2... NO! He goes for a few more pins in this way, blatantly flouting the rules to the official, who eventually loses his rag with the pompous prude, forcing him to break the hold. Regal reacts angrily, getting in Charles Robinson’s face, trying to intimidate the man, but failing.

The veteran is still in command though, continuing to dominate his young opponent, constantly trying to force Nitro’s shoulders to the mat at every opportunity he gets. The A-Lister shows great condition to keep them up each time, bridging his mid-section. Frustrated, Regal pulls Nitro up and sticks his head in between his legs, looking to put him away with a PILEDRIVER -- BUT NITRO COUNTERS - TOSSING REGAL OVERHEAD WITH A BACK BODY DROP!!

As the crowd cheers, Dave Taylor is urging his compatriot on, yelling encouragement from the corner nearest to him. Both combatants struggle up to their feet at the same time, with Nitro beating the veteran to the punch, grabbing him by the head and RAKING HIS EYES ACROSS THE TOP ROPE!!

The crowd
“ooh’s” and “ah’s” and cheers, as the Englishman is taken on a tour of the ring, his eyes raked across each rope, eventually sending him tumbling through the ropes in a blind heap!!

With the crowd going wild for the increasingly popular young man in the ring, Regal lies against the ring apron.

Reaching out, he sticks his hand under the ring, feeling around until he pulls something out.

As he begins to pull himself up, Nitro reaches over, grabbing him by the hair and pulling him … but Regal trips him down, dragging Nitro out to the floor and WRAPPING A PIECE OF ROPE AROUND HIS NECK, TRYING TO STRANGLE HIM!!!

The crowd goes nuts,
“ooh’ing” and “ah’ing” and booing like crazy, as the vicious Brit trips Nitro down to his knees, looking to choke the life right out of this kid!!

It might be No Disqualification, but referee Charles Robinson doesn’t want to see a man killed, and quickly gets in there to pull Regal off, giving Nitro the chance to recover on the floor. Regal argues with the official again, giving his opponent sufficient time to catch his breath.

The two men continue to go at it at ringside, with the action becoming much more heated as the match progresses. Winning out, Nitro gets back in the ring to avoid being counted out, with Regal, cheered on by his faithful corner man, struggling up after him. On the apron, Regal slugs Nitro with a right hand, but the youngster quickly spins him around, lifting him up over the top rope back inside the ring and DRILLING HIM WITH A BACK SUPLEX!! 1... 2... NO!

Looking all fired up still, Nitro proceeds to mount his opponent, gazing out into the crowd, his chest heaving and his fist cocked. He begins to pound away on the exposed face of the tag team champion below him, each strike more vicious than the next, releasing all his hatred, trying to bust the man open!!

The crowd
“Oh’s” with each stiff strike, as Charles Robinson tries to intervene, and we go to another commercial…

Commercial

When we come back, Regal has somehow managed to gain the upperhand once again, with Nitro flat on his back, and the Englishman arguing the official over something. With Regal’s back turned, Nitro quickly rushes up behind him, SHOVING HIM INTO THE ROPES - CATCHING HIM WITH AN O-CONNOR ROLL!!

1...

2...

NO!!

More
“ooh’s” ring out at just how close Nitro came there to a huge win, and he puts his opponent right back down.

Heading up top, Nitro ascends to the top turnbuckle, waiting for his groggy enemy to stumble back up to his feet and turn around. Regal, not hearing the warning cries of his corner man, staggers around … and NITRO FLIES OFF THE TOP - LANDING ON REGAL WITH A PERFECT CROSSBODY!!

1...

2...

NO!!

Again, the crowd
“ooh’s” and “ah’s”, as Nitro just came so close to securing his team a shot at the WWE Tag Team Titles. Looking weary, the youngster quickly grabs hold of Regal’s leg, stepping around it as though going for a FIGURE FOUR LEG LOCK -- BUT REGAL KICKS HIM AWAY INTO THE ROPES -- BUT NITRO DIVES BACK OVER WITH A JACKNIFE -- BUT REGAL ROLLS FORWARD -- BUT NITRO GRABS HIS LEGS!!

Now it’s Nitro’s turn to go after the leg, showcasing his wrestling ability, as well as his high-flying credentials. After working over Regal’s left knee on the ropes, Nitro successfully steps through this time, falling back, and APPLYING THE FIGURE FOUR LEG LOCK!!!

The “Woo’s”immediately ring out, as the Englishman writhes in pain, with Charles Robinson getting right in his face, checking to see if he gives it up. With Robinson focused on Regal… Dave Taylor quickly reaches through the ropes and RAKES NITRO’S EYES, forcing him to break the hold!!

The boos ring out, as Taylor looks around smugly, adjusting the sleeves of his suave suit jacket and mopping his brow. With his opponent blinded, Regal is able to take control once more, pounding away on and wearing down young Nitro in the ring, scoring several more near falls, before dragging his upper body out over the apron and driving his elbow down into his face!!

Looking slightly frazzled by the whole situation, Regal begins deviate from his usual game plan, as he climbs (awkwardly) up to the top turnbuckle. He looks scared to death when he gets up there, but makes a point of waving to the fans, letting them know that anything his athletic opponent can do, he can too. Nitro slowly pulls himself up and turns around … as REGAL LUNGES AT HIM, DIVING OFF THE TOP ROPE -- BUT NITRO SLUGS HIM IN THE GUT WITH A BIG RIGHT HAND, DOUBLING HIM OVER!!

The crowd comes alive once again, as the hated Englishman writhes around in agony. Still all pumped up, Johnny Nitro continues to hammer his veteran foe all around the ring, taking his time, methodically punishing one of the men who took not only the tag team titles from him, but his woman too. He goes to pull Regal up … but Regal quickly grabs him tights, flinging him through the ropes to the floor!!

Now it’s the veteran who is back in the driver’s seat, in this back-and-forth, topsy-turvy encounter. He does a bit more damage on the floor, before rolling Nitro back inside and following. Bringing the youngster up, Regal applies the front facelock, going for a Suplex … but Nitro blocks it … before BRINGING REGAL CRASHING OVER WITH A SUPLEX OF HIS OWN!!

As the crowd cheers him on, Nitro DROPKICKS the Englishman into the far corner, where he proceeds to drag him up, mount the turnbuckle, and RAIN DOWN SHOT AFTER SHOT AFTER SHOT ON ONE-HALF OF THE WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!

The crowd chants along with each blow, as Nitro grits his teeth viciously, smelling blood … but Regal manages to shove him away.

Nitro lands on his feet, and Regal throws a right hand, but it’s ducked, as Nitro goes behind, lifting the veteran up and DRILLING HIM WITH AN ATOMIC DROP - THROWING HIM INTO THE TURNBUCKLE CHEST-FIRST -- BUT REGAL BOUNCES OUT QUICKLY -- BOTH MEN CRACK HEADS TOGETHER!!!

As the
“ooh’s” and “ah’s” ring at out the sight and sound of the sickening impact, Nitro collapses in the ring, whilst Regal tumbles through the ropes, hanging in the ropes by his feet. With both wrestlers down, referee Charles Robinson has no choice but to start his count.

{“ONE... TWO...”}

Nitro is stirring in the ring, whilst Dave Taylor is desperately trying to heave his man up, despite Regal being, in all likelihood, knocked out cold.

{“THREE... FOUR... FIVE...”}

Using the ropes, Nitro begins to regain his footing, as Taylor pulls Regal out to the floor, trying to shove his limp frame back under the bottom rope.

{“SIX... SEVEN...”}

Taylor heaves his man back into the ring, but Regal is still unable to stand, and poor ol’ Dave is reduced to yelling at his fellow countryman, trying to scream fan some life back into him.

{“...EIGHT... NINE...”}

Nitro hangs onto the top rope, pulling himself BACK UP TO HIS FEET unsteadily, whilst Regal remains on the canvas!!

{“...TEN!!!”}

The crowd EXPLODES, as Charles Robinson quickly grabs Nitro’s hand and raises it, declaring him the winner and calling for the bell!!!

Winner - Johnny Nitro via knockout at 16:14. MNM are added to the WWE Tag Team Title match at SummerSlam.

Michael Cole:
HE DID IT!!

The Miz:
NO!!

Dave Taylor holds his head in dismay, as the crowd cheers wildly, and the exhausted Johnny Nitro goes back to a knee, still suffering from the effects of such a hard-fought contest, and, especially, the collision of heads at the end.

Tazz:
What a match!!

William Regal is still down in the corner, trying to recover his senses, as the crowd starts to scream and boo … as … PAUL BURCHILL SLIDES INTO THE RING BEHIND NITRO … DRILLING HIM IN THE BACK, KNOCKING HIM DOWN!

Michael Cole:
HEY!! Not again!!

The crowd boos furiously, as the rugged Englishman quickly grabs a handful of the exhausted Nitro’s long hair, pulling his upper body off the mat, before CURB STOMPING HIM BACK DOWN INTO THE CANVAS FACE-FIRST!

Tazz:
OH!!

The Miz:
He’s not gonna be so pretty after that!!

As the “Oh’s” ring out, Charles Robinson tries to intervene on behalf of the helpless Nitro … only for Dave Taylor to shove him down with a snarl!!

Michael Cole:
Hey, come one, you can’t do that!!

Burchill is still on top of Nitro, hammering down with a barrage of vicious right hands. Regal stumbles back up to his feet groggily and heads over, putting the boots to the prone youngster, as The Ripper holds him in place!!

Michael Cole:
This is- This is- Nitro has already won the match, but this is completely unnecessary!!

As the boos continue to pour in, Regal says something to Taylor, motioning to his waist, and the veteran nods, grinning wickedly, as he … removes his belt and hands it to the man from Blackpool.

Tazz:
Oh no.

Michael Cole:
OH NO!!

Now with Taylor holding his legs in place as well, Johnny Nitro is helpless in the hands of the vicious English trio, as Regal stands over him with the belt, soaking up the heat from the crowd, before LASHING NITRO ACROSS THE CHEST WITH BELT!!!

Michael Cole:
OH GOD, SOMEBODY STOP THIS!!

The crowd goes absolutely NUTS, “ooh’ing” and “ah’ing” with every blow, as Regal viciously whips his enemy AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN…

…until PAUL LONDON AND BRIAN KENDRICK COME SLIDING INTO THE RING, sending The Bluebloods scurrying in all directions, getting the hell out of the ring!!!

Tazz:
Here comes the cavalry, Cole!!

The Miz:
Oh, what are these goofballs doing out here!?

The Hooligans try to get their hands on the Englishmen, but the WWE Tag Team Champions are just too quick getting out of dodge and hurrying back up the ramp!!!

Michael Cole:
Yeah… yeah, Regal and Burchill… not so tough when the odds are even!

The Miz:
“Even”? There’s three guys in the ring, Michael Cole.

But the damage has already done, and, without his partner to help him, Johnny Nitro has been laid out with a vicious assault. London and Kendrick glare up the ramp after the fleeing champions, before kneeling down to check on the man who they will also now have to go through at SummerSlam if they want to become the tag team champions.

Michael Cole:
Well, despite that brutal attack, the fact remains that The Bluebloods’ days as tag team champions are numbered. They now have to defend their title against BOTH The Hooligans AND MNM!! It’s a rematch of their WrestleMania CLASSIC just four months ago … and it’s gonna happen in Boston at SummerSlam!!

This thought appears to be going through both men’s heads, as they wave the officials down to help the writhing Nitro, before standing back and watching coolly.

What a night it has been here on Friday Night SmackDown. Mark Henry made his in-ring return in typically dominant fashion, the number one contender to the World Heavyweight Title Bobby Lashley was able to overcome Matt Hardy in an extremely competitive contest, and just before the break, Johnny Nitro defeated William Regal in a thrilling No Disqualification match to add MNM to the WWE Tag Team Title bout at SummerSlam!

The Miz: And we’ve still got three more matches to go!

Michael Cole: Absolutely. Your buddy and fellow MamaJuana, Incorporated member Brent Albright will be in action - for which we’ll be joined by his SummerSlam opponent, the United States Champion Rey Mysterio-

The Miz:
WHAT!?

Michael Cole:
Sorry, Miz. Didn’t I say earlier? We’ve also got Kennedy and Punk, and a HUGE main event showdown between World Heavyweight Champion Edge and Lashley still to come!

Tazz: I’m not sure I can wait for that, Cole. I- I got goosebumps seein’ champ ‘n’ challenger goin’ nose-to-nose last week.

Michael Cole: It certainly was a tense confrontation. (Video begins to play)Well, ladies and gentlemen, one man who didn’t appreciate the intensity of the number one contender was ‘The Fighting Irishman’ Finlay. Here’s what took place after his match with The Real Deal last week…

*Cut to video*

Paul Heyman:
Oh… but… (Turning) he does have something he’d like to show you.

~ As Paul E. turns, Lashley immediately drops down and rolls out of the ring, heading around ringside.

Michael Cole:
What’s Heyman talking about now?

Tazz:
Who the hell knows?

Michael Cole:
For once I actually agree with Edge’s… Oh, wait a minute.

Cole’s distress is caused by Lashley setting his eyes … on Finlay.

Tazz:
Finlay, you better get outta’ there, man!

The Fighting Irishman sees what is coming his way, and immediately starts shoving the EMT’s away, trying to pull himself up, always ready for a fight. Lashley storms across the floor, flinging the attendants aside like they were small children and grabbing the injured, helpless Irish veteran, dragging him back up to his feet and lifting him over his shoulder with ease!! Edge looks on with one hand on his head and eyes wide, as The Real Deal carries Finlay all the way around the ringside area … towards the announce table.

Michael Cole:
No! Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!

The announcers, timekeeper and everyone else in the vicinity gets the hell out of dodge, as Lashley first points to the announce table, before slowly turning and pointing up the ramp as the visibly mortified World Champion.

Tazz:
Oh no, I know what he means now!!

Hitching Finlay up, Lashley … CHARGES ACROSS THE FLOOR … DRILLING FINLAY THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE WITH A THUNDEROUS RUNNING POWERSLAM!!!

Michael Cole:
RUNNING POWERSLAM THROUGH THE TABLE!! JUST LIKE LASHLEY DID TO EDGE AT THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH!!

The crowd goes absolutely NUTS, as Finlay’s body completely obliterates the table, with the thunderous crash soon replaced by an outpouring of wild “Holy Shit” chants, as the Irishman lies in a crumpled heap amongst the broken shards of wood and wires!!

*Back to ringside*

Michael Cole:
Well, as you can imagine, that attack by Lashley left Finlay sporting a few injuries, making him unable to attend tonight’s show. But our broadcast colleague Steve Romero travelled to Finlay’s home in Atlanta, Georgia to… uh… try and catch a few words with the unpredictable Irishman.

*Cut To Video - Pre-Taped Interview - Finlay’s home, Atlanta, Georgia*

In the usual dark room, ‘The Fighting Irishman’ Finlay sits in one chair, clad in dark jeans and a grey jacket, toying with the shillelagh on his lap in an agitated manner. Steve Romero sits across from him.

Steve Romero:
Okay, everyone, I’m here with Finlay. Thanks for joining me, Dave.

~ The Irishman barely flinches.

Steve Romero:
I was asked to conduct this interview with you this week to … uh… give you the opportunity to air one or two of the grievances that you have accumulated over the past couple of months. Now, I know you’re not allowed on SmackDown this week because of the injury you sustained last week at the hands of Bobby Lashley. But what I think everyone wants to know … is just what it feels like to have something like that done to you?

~ Finlay stares at the interviewer incredulously.

Finlay:
You wanna know how it feels to have a man attack you from behind … and slam your body through a table?

Steve Romero:
I guess that--

~ FINLAY LEAPS OUT OF HIS SEAT, SWINGING HIS SHILLELAGH AT ROMERO’S HEAD … but stopping it just short, tickling the terrified announcer’s ear!!

Romero has his eyes closed and his hands over his head, bracing for the impact, which never comes. He slowly reopens his eyes, seeing the Irishman’s face right in his, delivering his infamous gap-toothed, psychotic grin.

Finlay:
Don’t worry. (Taps him on the head with the weapon) You ain’t man enough, mate.

~ Finlay stands up and Romero breathes a sigh of relief, trembling all over as he reaches for his water. The Fighting Irishman turns to the camera, pointing his shillelagh right at the screen.

Finlay:
Punk … Lashley…

~ The veteran basically spits the names out.

Finlay:
It started with you…

~ He advances on the camera, leering into it menacingly.

Finlay:
…and it’s gonna end … with you.

~ The camera lingers on Finlay’s grizzled face for a few moments, before stands back up, glacing over at the quivering, nervous wreck that is Steve Romero.

Finlay:
Thanks for the interview.

~ And with that, The Fighting Irishman walks over, leaving Romero trying to recover his breath, as several workers run in to check on him.

*Back to ringside*

When we come back, ‘Booyaka 619’ is still playing over the loudspeaker, and the United States Champion Rey Mysterio is joining the guys on commentary, pulling on a headset, as Miz tries to get his chair as far away as possible, looking terrified. ‘The Shooter’ Brent Albright is already in the ring warming up, smirking down at the champion, with JBL giving him a few last minute pointers.

Michael Cole:
Well, as you can see, we’re being joined now by the United States Champion Rey Mysterio. Welcome to the table, Rey.

Rey Mysterio:
(Pulling on his headset) Thanks, Michael. If you don’t mind I’m gonna sit so that I’m facin’ your colleague there… (Points at Miz) ‘cause after last week I ain’t too sure I can trust him.

Michael Cole:
No indeed. Nor any member of MamaJuana, Incorporated I imagine, with your huge title defense against Brent Albright coming up in just over two weeks?

Rey Mysterio:
That’s right, Michael. Albright’s a great wrestler and that’s usually enough … but when you got guys like JBL (At Miz again) and that idiot there backin’ you up … I know I have to be extra careful.

4 - Brent Albright w/MamaJuana, Inc.
vs. Chance Prendrick
*With United States Champion Rey Mysterio on commentary*

The match starts out as any other would, with the two men circling one another cautiously and looking to lock up … only for Albright to boot the jobber in the gut and beat him down to the mat with a hard elbow, ending any semblance of this thing being competitive.

Pulling Prendrick up, The Shooter hoists him high into the air with a Standing Vertical Suplex, letting all the blood rush into the skinny youngster’s head British Bulldog-style, before bringing him crashing down with authority!!

As JBL looks on approvingly, Albright sends Prendrick into the ropes, LEVELLING HIM WITH A HUGE CLOTHESLINE, turning him inside out!!

The crowd
“ooh’s” and “ah’s”, as Albright performs his signature pose, down on one knee, arms out wide, fingers pointing to the sky. He sweeps his hair out of his face, as the crowd continues to boo the next challenger for the United States Title, and Bradshaw applauds loudly. The Gun For Hire continues to dominate his helpless opponent, hitting him with a variety of suplexes, before taking him across the ring and slamming him off the turnbuckle face-first.

As Prendrick staggers out in a daze, Albright grabs him around the neck, holding him in place, thinking about ending this thing, but sparing the time to flex his bicep to the crowd, drawing even more heat, as JBL gushes from the floor,
“Ha-ha-ha!! That’s what I’m talkin’ about! Show ‘em the guns, big man, show ‘em the guns!!” Quickly refocusing, Albright wraps his other hand through Prendrick’s arm and DRILLS HIM WITH THE HALF-NELSON SUPLEX - DUMPING THE JOBBER RIGHT ON HIS HEAD!!!

As the
“ooh’s” and “ah’s” echo through the arena, The Shooter calmly lies across the prone local with an extremely lackadaisical cover. 1... 2... 3!!

Winner - Brent Albright via pinfall at 1:33.

The crowd boos, as Albright jumps back up to his feet with his arm in the air, grinning over at the watching, nodding Rey Mysterio on commentary.

The Miz:
Y’know what? Call me a genius, but I think he’s looking over here. Oh wait, I AM a genius! He’s looking at YOU, Mysterio! He’s looking at that belt you’re holding right now, because he’s taking it at SummerSlam, little man!

Rey Mysterio: (Not taking his eyes of Albright) I gotta’ disagree with you there, Miz.

Albright walks over to the ropes with his manager, Layfield, clapping away like a mad man behind him, as Rey gets to his feet, holding his belt up high for all (especially Albright) to see.

Michael Cole: Ladies and gentlemen, when we come back … the Hardy’s choice, CM Punk, will be taking on Matt and Jeff’s SummerSlam opponent Mr. Kennedy. And believe me, you won’t want to miss that, up next, on Friday Night SmackDown.

*Back to ringside*

When we return from the break, Brent Albright and Rey Mysterio are no longer at ringside, but the rest of MamaJuana, Inc. (JBL, Jillian Hall and Michelle McCool) are still present, sauntering around the ring, being roundly booed by the Nashville natives…

“KENNEDY!!!”

And you thought the heat couldn’t get any louder. Out swaggers Mr. Kennedy down the ramp, dressed in his blue trunks and black t-shirt, chomping on his gum as he approaches the ring, where Bradshaw and co. all applaud like crazy.

Michael Cole:
Well, we found out just last week -- after this man had RUINED the big reunion of the Hardys -- we found out that Matt and Jeff would get their chance for revenge when they meet Mr. Kennedy and a partner of his choosing at SummerSlam.

The Miz:
Y’know… I was so gutted that I missed what he did to those bums last week. I taped it though, so I’ve just been watching it again and again and again and--

Tazz:
I wonder who Kennedy’s partner’s gonna be at SummerSlam?

Scrambling up the steel steps, Kennedy enters the ring, where he immediately shakes hands with Layfield, drawing even more heat from this already unimpressed crowd. After a quick peck on the cheek from both Jillian and Michelle, KK motions to the middle of the ring, apparently asking their permission. JBL gushes, saying, “Of course, of course. Go ahead.”

The Miz:
What a great guy.

Smirking, Ken saunters to the middle of the ring, theatrically throwing his arm into the air and catching his falling microphone, quickly bringing it to his mouth.

Mr. Kennedy:
(Holding his hand out) I won’t… I won’t waste too much of your time, John. I know you’re out here to watch me beat the holy hell out of that little ingrate CM Punk and… (Smirks) and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do.

~ Boos, as JBL claps his hands excitedly.

Mr. Kennedy:
But first of all … I’ve got a little something I need to get off my chest.

~ Ken gets a little more serious.

Mr. Kennedy:
Y’see… Stephanie McMahon … thinks she’s got one over on me. She thinks … that by putting me in a tag team match against everybody’s favourite loser brothers that… (Scoffs) that I can’t win.

~ Bradshaw pulls a face in the background, shaking his head.

Mr. Kennedy:
Well lemme’ tell you somethin’, Steph. If that’s how you wanna’ play it … fine by me.

~ Smirking, Kennedy looks up the ramp.

Mr. Kennedy:
You wanna’ know who my partner is? Tough. I didn’t know who my opponent was gonna’ be at The Great American Bash … and I think it’s only right … that Matt ‘n’ Jeff are just as blind on August 20th.

~ Crowd boos.

Mr. Kennedy:
That’s right people. (Rubs his fingers together) You’re gonna have to spend the big bucks if you wanna’ find out I have deemed WORTHY enough … to share a tag rope with me.

~ More heat, as Layfield chuckles at the comment.

Mr. Kennedy:
But rest assured … no matter who I pick … the result is always going to be the same. There will still be (Holds his finger in the air) one man with his hand raised at the end of the match … and that man … is … MMIISSTTEEEEERRRRRRR KKEENNNNEEDDYY …

~ The loudmouth quickly scrambles up to the nearby turnbuckle, eyes closed.

Mr. Kennedy:
KEN - NA - DAY!!!

The crowd boos like crazy, as Kennedy holds his pose…

***MISERIA CANTARE***

A BIG pop goes up, as Kennedy’s eyes snap open angrily, and JBL throws a fit, stamping his feet like an overgrown baby. Slowly but surely, the always cocky, always confident CM Punk makes his way out for the second time tonight. Checking his watch, Punk points up at the ring, before roaring, “WHAT TIME IS IT!?” before heading for the ring, where Bradshaw tries to give some tips to Kennedy in the corner.

The Miz:
What the hell is this idiot doing interrupting Mr. Kennedy!?

Tazz:
They’ve… uh… got a match, Miz.

The Miz:
I don’t care. We’ve seen enough of this clown already tonight. I hope Mr. Kennedy sticks his microphone right down this- this PUNK’S throat!!

KK isn’t even looking in the direction of his opponent, instead leaning arrogantly on the turnbuckle, staring into the crowd with bored, unimpressed eyes.

Tazz:
Uh… Ken…

Quickly, tearing his jacket off, Punk runs up the steps, enters the ring, rushes across the ring … GRABS HOLD OF THE UNSUSPECTING JBL, SHOVING HIM THROUGH THE ROPES … BEFORE SPINNING KENNEDY AROUND AND DRILLING HIM WITH A BIG ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE SIDE OF THE HEAD, SENDING HIM FLYING OVER THE TOP ROPE TO THE FLOOR!!!

5 - CM Punk
vs. Mr. Kennedy w/MamaJuana, Inc. members

The crowd is fully behind Punk right away, as he poses in the ring, pumping his fist and getting all fired up. He picks up JBL’s fallen hat and puts it on his head, mocking the Texan loudmouth to a tremendous reception. Kennedy is quickly back in, rushing up, LOOKING TO ATTACK PUNK FROM BEHIND -- BUT PUNK TURNS - KNOCKING KEN ON HIS BACKSIDE WITH A BIG RIGHT HAND!!

More cheers ring out, as Kennedy bumps like a piñata, bouncing across the ring to get out of harm’s way, while the cocky Punk ‘tips’ his hat to the crowd, before hurling it into the masses, horrifying Bradshaw, who yells first at the fans to throw it back - which gets him nowhere - before yelling at Miz, Jillian and Michelle to go and retrieve it. They seem rather reluctant. Punk is still over the pompous Green Bay native, whipping him into the buckle and following up with a HIGH KNEE IN THE CORNER!!

The crowd
ooh’s” and “ah’s”, as Punk holds his position, his knee right in Kennedy’s face, waving to the crowd, as JBL goes NUTS at ringside. Punk brings Ken out, DRILLING HIM WITH A BULLDOG, sending him bouncing across the ring once again!!

Everyone loves this, as Punk starts to get aggressive with his opponent, beating on him in the corner and holding his face to the ringside camera, pointing into it and yelling,
“Announce yourself now, Kenny!!”

The domination from the youngster from Chicago, Illinois continues, as he beats the piss out of Kennedy in the corner, before whipping him into the far corner once again. Punk charges across the ring … BUT KENNEDY MOVES - PUNK SPEARS THE STEEL RING POST SHOULDER-FIRST!!!

More
“ooh’s” and “ah’s” ring out, as Punk crumples awkwardly. The referee checks on him, as Kennedy quickly scrambles across the ring, going to the opposite corner and … removing the top turnbuckle padding!! The crowd boos wildly, trying to alert the official, but MamaJuana, Inc. have him well distracted, allowing KK to toss the covering down, exposing the steel buckle underneath.

Going back to Punk, Kennedy hammers away on the youngster in the corner, before grinning evilly, grabbing him by the hair, bringing him across the ring and DRIVING HIS HEAD INTO THE EXPOSED TURNBUCKLE -- NO, PUNK BLOCKS IT!!!

The crowd roars, as Punk holds onto the top rope, preventing the devastating manoeuvre, as Kennedy tries his best to force him down. But Punk elbows KK in the gut, knocking him away, and unloading on him with more right hands, taking him back across the ring.

Grabbing Kennedy by his peroxide blonde barnet, Punk looks into the crowd and points across the exposed turnbuckle, receiving a HUGE pop, as the crowd encourage him on. Doing as he’s told, Punk brings Kennedy across the ring, SMASHING HIM INTO THE EXPOSED TURNBUCKLE HEAD-FIRST, SENDING HIM CARTWHEELING ACROSS THE RING!!!

“Oh’s”
ring out, as Kennedy bounces around some more, selling his hump off, making Punk look like a million bucks. JBL is close to having a heart attack at ringside, as he tears his jacket off, flinging it to the ground, and yelling for Miz, Jillian and Michelle to get in the ring. Punk is unaware of this, as he continues to control Kennedy in the ring, as MamaJuana, Inc. approach the ring apron … BUT HERE COME THE HARDYS!!!

The crowd EXPLODES, as Matt and Jeff storm down to the ring, scattering Bradshaw and Co., as Punk looks on confused. He sends Kennedy into the corner and follows in … but KK gets both feet up. As Punk goes down, Kennedy finally notices his great rivals at ringside and hops through the ropes, talking trash to both Matt and Jeff, inviting them to hit him, pointing to his chin and just acting like an all round jackass. Jeff has to restrain his brother, who wants so desperately to get his hands on the man who has been ruining his life since WrestleMania.

As the Hardy’s are focused on Kennedy, the crowd screams … as MARK HENRY CLUBS THEM BOTH DOWN FROM BEHIND!!

JBL quickly pulls Jeff up, whipping him across the floor INTO THE STEEL STEPS!! Before the crowd can even react, Henry muscles Matt up like a small child, holding him in his arms and RAMS HIM SPINE-FIRST INTO THE STEEL RING POST!!!

As the
“Oh’s” ring out, Punk comes out to the floor to continue his war with Mr. Kennedy. Ken uses the distraction of JBL and the World’s Strongest Man to take Punk by the arm, GOING FOR AN IRISH WHIP -- BUT PUNK REVERSES - SENDING KENNEDY COLLIDING WITH THE RING POST!!!

Amidst yet more
“Oh’s”, Kennedy goes rolling head-over-heels across the floor, as Punk quickly looks up and slides back inside the ring—

WHILE KENNEDY IS COUNTED OUT!

Winner - CM Punk via countout at 3:53.

The crowd doesn’t think much of the result, booing loudly, as Henry tries to climb up onto the apron, only for JBL to quickly jump on his monster, dragging him back down and yelling, “No, no, not yet!!”

Tazz:
What the- Has Kennedy been counted out!?

The Miz:
What a JOKE!

Both hurting after the assault of the World’s Strongest Man, Matt and Jeff Hardy pull themselves back into the ring, where Punk helps them up.

Michael Cole:
Thank goodness the Hardys came down here to even up the numbers game for Cm Punk.

Out on the floor, Bradshaw tries to lead his behemoth back up the ramp, both pointing threateningly up at the men in the ring, Punk in particular. Already well past them, Kennedy is heading straight for the curtain, holding his head and looking extremely dizzy after his collision with the steel post.

Tazz:
Not a good night for Mr. Kennedy.

In the ring, a smirking CM Punk gets in between the Hardys, grabbing their hands and hoisting them into the air, the three men receiving a fantastic ovation.

*Backstage - Interview Area*

We do indeed go to Josh Matthews, who is joined by ‘The Redneck Messiah’ Jamie Noble and James Yun, getting a nice pop from the crowd. Noble is in jeans and a t-shirt, whilst Yun is in his Rickey Steamboat-esque robes, sporting a pair of very cool shades.

Josh Matthews:
Thank you, Michael. Yes, as you can see I’m joined by Jamie Noble and one of Friday Night SmackDown’s newest acquisitions James Yun. And, Jamie, last week, after coming out to help your friend CM Punk, you were the victim of this…

*Cut to video*

His face soon changes though … as the crowd begins to cheer again … as JAMIE NOBLE comes jogging down the ramp, shaking his head angrily.

Tazz:
Well… I… uh… I guess Jamie Noble don’t like what he’s seein’ either, Cole.

The Redneck Messiah slides into the ring, holding up his hand to keep Henry and JBL at bay, saying, “That- That’s enough, okay? That’s enough.” Bradshaw smirks, as Noble crouches down to check on the injured Punk … but Layfield suddenly backs away again, and the screams pick up … as … NOBLE GETS BLASTED FROM BEHIND WITH A CHAMPIONSHIP BELT!!!

Michael Cole:
HEY!!

IT’S THE CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE BELT!!!

Michael Cole:
WHAT!?

IT’S KID KASH!!!

Michael Cole:
OH, YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!?

DEAFENING heat rings out, as Kash, shirtless, wearing jeans and, of course, his big sunglasses, stands over The Pit-bull, seething with anger. JBL leads Mark Henry from the ring, not even bothering to check on The Miz, who is still down, and leading the returning superstar away.

Michael Cole:
Yeah… yeah, that’s right, JBL, you’ve done enough damage for one night I think!!

Tazz:
Mark Henry’s gotta be the new member, Cole.

Back in the ring, The Notorious K.I.D stomps away on his old enemy, grabbing him by the face and yelling at him, “STOP SENDIN’ GUYS AFTER ME!! STAY OUTTA’ MY BUSINESS!!!” Slamming Noble’s head back down, KK grabs his title belt again, LIFTING IT UP AS THOUGH TO NAIL NOBLE A SECOND TIME … BUT JAMES YUN, JUVENTUD AND PSICOSIS ALL COME CHARGING DOWN TO THE RING!!!

Michael Cole:
YEAH!! Here we go!!

The crowd cheers, but the Cruiserweight Champion quickly turns, diving under the bottom rope, running past the announcers, vaulting the barricade and taking off through the crowd like the true chicken-shit he is!!!

Tazz:
MAN! You see how fast Kid Kash went past us?

Michael Cole:
Y’know, I am so sick of him!

Boos ring out for Kash’s cowardice, as Yang and co. check on the injured superstars scattered around the ring.

*Back to interview area*

THUNDEROUS heat is ringing out, as return to the enraged, quivering face of Jamie Noble, who looks about ready to snap.

Josh Matthews:
And shortly after that heinous attack, my broadcast colleague Steve Romero was able to catch a few words with the Cruiserweight Champion of the World, Kid Kash…

*Cut To Video - Backstage Hallway - Last Week on SmackDown*

We are with a cameraman, as he rushes down a corridor somewhere, behind Steve Romero, who is himself in hot pursuit of the departing Cruiserweight Champion Kid Kash, who has his belt across his bag, which he is hauling away in a hurry.

Steve Romero:
Kid Kash!! Kid Kash!!

~ The Cruiserweight Champion stops, whirling around angrily.

Kid Kash:
What!?

Steve Romero:
What the- (Out of breath) Why did you just attack Jamie Noble in the ring!?

Kid Kash:
Lemme tell you somethin’, Josh Matthews, and you better listen good! Jamie Noble is the sorest loser I have EVER known. He can’t accept the fact that Kid Kash beat ‘im at Judgment Day… that I was the better man in the end. And he knows damn well that I ain’t fixin’ to give him another shot at this (Shoves his belt up aggressively) belt right here for a very long time!

~ Kash rubs his face angrily.

Kid Kash:
So y’know what he does, Josh?

~ The interviewer shakes his head dumbly.

Kid Kash:
(Pointing off camera furiously) He gets- He goes out and he gets some chump from Japan--

Steve Romero:
I think he’s from Korea.

Kid Kash:
(Eyes wide) What!? I don’t care if he’s from Timbuk-freakin’-tu, Josh Matthews, the point remains the same! He’s gone out and he’s brought in some punk from GOD KNOWS WHERE to try and take my title!

~ KK hits his belt hard to emphasise the point, before sweeping his hair out of his sweaty face and staring into the nearby camera.

Kid Kash:
Well, Noble … it ain’t gonna work, boy. You couldn’t do … and no goofy-lookin’ Bruce Lee ninja wannabe is gonna do it either! (Shoving Romero aside) Now get the hell outta’ my way, Matthews, you’re startin’ to piss me off.

~ Romero is knocked stumbling against the wall, as Kash kicks the door open and storms out into the parking lot, yelling, “WHERE’S MY CAR AT!?”

*Back to interview area*

The crowd is still booing rather loudly, with both Noble and Yun shaking their heads in disgust.

Josh Matthews:
Gentlemen, I suppose my question to both of you is pretty obvious - what is your response first to the attack last week, and then to those accusations from our Cruiserweight Champion?

~ Noble steps forwards, rubbing his chin and unfolding his arms.

Jamie Noble:
Y’know somethin’, Josh … it don’t surprise me one bit that a slimeball like Kid Kash would do somethin’ like this.

~ The Redneck Messiah turns around, showing us the great big bandage on the back of his skull where Kash clocked him.

Jamie Noble:
You see that? Ten staples in my head. (Pats his head) Right there.

~ Noble turns back to face us.

Jamie Noble:
After that punk hit me from behind like the coward he is … when I was checkin’ on a friend!

~ Boos, as Noble boils.

Jamie Noble:
But I knew… I knew it was him. The moment I came to in the trainer’s room … I didn’t need to ask anyone … I didn’t need to… to watch the video back … ‘cause I knew (Holds up a finger) it could only be one person.

~ The Pit-bull shakes his head.

Jamie Noble:
You all saw what he did to Super Crazy a couple o’ weeks back. That’s what Kid Kash is all about. He’s a no-good cheap shot artist who’s at his best when your back’s turned!

~ Cheers for the fiery redneck.

Jamie Noble:
He knew he got lucky twice against Crazy … so ‘ee took ‘im out. He tried ta’ do the same to Jamie Noble time after time leadin’ up to WrestleMania ‘n’ Judgment Day … (Taps his head) but I can always see ‘im comin’. I know the way that boy thinks.

~ Noble shrugs angrily.

Jamie Noble:
But I guess… I guess he thinks he knows the way ol’ Jamie Noble thinks too … ‘cause apparently … (Pats Yun on the back) I brought my good friend Jimmy Yun here to the Dubya’ Dubya’ E for the sole purpose … of takin’ the Cruiserweight Title away from Kid Kash.

~ Yun pulls a face, as Noble scoffs.

Jamie Noble:
Sure, Jimmy ‘n’ I go way back. We’ve wrestled in Japan, we’ve wrestled in Europe … we’ve even teamed up now ‘n’ ‘gain. (Turns to Yun) But, Jimmy … who brought you to SmackDown?

James Yun:
Uh… (Scratches his chin) I think it was Shane McMahon who gave me the call when I wrestlin’ down in … I think it was Florida.

Jamie Noble:
(Turning to the camera) Ya hear that, Kash? Shane McMahon. McMahon. They own the company. Not Jamie Noble. As much as your paranoid ass would like to believe it … (Points) I can’t hire ‘n’ fire people. I ain’t an agent. I’m no politician. All I am … is a WRESTLER.

~ BIG pop from the crowd, as Noble brims with intensity.

Jamie Noble:
And if I wanna’ take that Cruiserweight Title away from your stinkin’, ungrateful hands … (Right into the camera) then I’ll WRESTLE it away from you. (Grabs Yun) And that exactly what WE … are fixin’ ta’ do.

~ Yang nods, and the two men give Matthews another quick nod, before storming away to cheers from the crowd, with the stoic Taimak in tow.

***DOMINATOR***

Big-time heat fills the arena, as, for the second time tonight, the number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship, ‘The Real Deal’ Bobby Lashley marches out onto the stage. He folds his arms, before throwing them out again, setting off his pyrotechnics, before heading on down to the ring, with his ever-present, ever-animated agent Paul Heyman by his side, smiling smugly.

Michael Cole:
Well this is it, guys. This is what we’ve been waiting since last week to see. SummerSlam is coming early tonight, ladies and gentlemen. That man right there, Bobby Lashley, one-on-one with the World’s Champion Edge!

Tazz:
Oh man, am I pumped for this or what? The Champ has been ridin’ his luck since WrestleMania, and he’s been doin’ a pretty good job at it. But… I mean, Lashley has been takin’ out dudes left, right and centre! Could be the end o’ the road for Edge tonight.

Lashley leaps onto the apron and enters the ring, with Paul E. waddling up the steel steps after him. The Real Deal looks full of confidence, already beginning the pace around the ring impatiently, staring up the ramp, as his music fades…

“YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME”

A HUGE mixed reaction fills the arena, as the smoke fills the stage, and, eventually, the World Heavyweight Champion Edge comes striding out onto the stage, a look of complete rage etched upon his face. Wearing his long trench coat over his red tights, with the championship belt strapped firmly around his waist, the Rated R Superstar slaps himself in the face a few times, before shaking his head angrily and storming down to the ring.

Michaek Cole:
Edge has been the World Heavyweight Champion since April 2nd at WrestleMania when he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and became the man to FINALLY end the year long reign of ‘The Animal’ Batista.

The Miz:
Yeah, yeah, that’s pretty impressive, Michael. But what’s he done since then? He’s been running scared, that’s what. Every title defence he’s had, it’s been by the skin of his teeth that he’s been able to hang onto that belt.

Tazz:
I dunno about that, Miz. The guy’s only been pinned once in- in what? … nearly four months now.

Michael Cole:
Whatever the case… this could be the end of the road for the World Heavyweight Champion tonight.

Entering the ring quickly, Edge shows no fear of the monster standing on the other side of the ring. Heyman walks over to Tony Chimel and takes the mic from his hands. The agent waits, lips pursed anxiously, for the champion’s music to fade, before pointing across the ring.

Paul Heyman:
So, uh… (Stammering nervously) so- so this is how it’s gonna be, huh, Edge? This is really how you wanna do it?

~ The Rated R Superstar continues to bounce on his toes excitedly, nodding.

Paul Heyman:
Well, that’s fine by me, champ. (Pointing aggressively) We’ve got no problem fighting you here tonight.

~ Edge immediately takes a step forward … but Heyman gets in the middle, his hand in the air.

Paul Heyman:
But y’know something, Edge … you don’t just get to- to wrestle a man like Bobby Lashley whenever you want…

~ The Rated R Superstar glares at his next challenger.

Paul Heyman:
(Through gritted teeth) …without earning it first. Just like he had to against Batista and The Undertaker.

{Michael Cole: Earning it?}

Paul Heyman:
So, Edge … in order to EARN your shot at this man here tonight … it’s pretty simple really … all you have to do…

~ The agent backs towards the ropes, pointing over his shoulder towards the stage.

Paul Heyman:
(Turning) … … … Is beat this man right now.

{Tazz: What?}

~ As Edge, Lashley, Heyman and the crowd look up … a HUGE MONSTER OF A MAN comes striding out, dressed in a black wrestling singlet and gloves; with long hair in a ponytail and a thick, bushy beard, looking at least 6”6 and certainly tipping the scales at over 300lbs.

Michael Cole:
Syl- Sylvester Terkay? I’ve heard of this guy before, but I- I wasn’t expecting him to debut for MONTHS! This guy’s an animal!

Tazz:
Not good for Edge, Cole. Not good at all. This is one bad, bad dude.

The monster cracks his neck from side-to-side, as he heads for the ring, with Heyman looking extremely pleased with himself, and Edge just glaring straight ahead. ‘Sylvester Terkay’ enters the ring quickly, shaking hands with the ECW messiah, before locking eyes with the World Heavyweight Champion standing across from him.

Paul Heyman:
(Grinning) But that’s still not enough. I don’t think you even deserve that, Edge, after all the crap you’ve done as champion. (Points) So if you want to wrestle Mr. Terkay here … the REAL baddest man in professional wrestling might I add…

~ Terkay puffs his chest out.

Paul Heyman:
(Turning again, smirking)…you have to beat this guy first.

~ We cut up to the stage once again, as Edge tears his hair out in frustration … as a much more familiar looking young man comes striding down the ramp, dressed similarly to Terkay, but blonde-haired and much smaller in stature.

Tazz:
Oh come on, that- that’s Daniel freakin’ Puder!

Michael Cole:
What the hell is this? What’s he doing back here!?

~ Puder enthusiastically bounds down to the ring, running up the steps and entering the ring, where he high fives Heyman goofily, before shaking hands with Terkay. Edge is conversing with the referee, but Charles Robinson is helpless, as the manipulative Paul E. grins from ear-to-ear.

Paul Heyman:
Am I making myself clear, Edge? Am I speaking slowly enough even for your pea brain?

~ The crowd boos, as Edge scowls.

Paul Heyman:
What was it you said about my client? Oh yeah. (Does Edge impression) “You like- You like to think of yourself as some kind of… of Mixed Martial Artist, don’t you? You enjoy all that crap, right?”

~ Heyman scoffs, patting his two mercenaries on the back.

Paul Heyman:
Well here’s two guys who don’t just think they’re bad. They’ve actually done it. You’re looking at two of the most accomplished MMA fighters in the world, Edge … and it just so happens that they’re lookin’ to make a name for themselves in the world of professional wrestling…

~ The agent steps forward, pointing his finger right in the World Champion’s face.

Paul Heyman:
…at your expense.

~ Big-time heat rings out, as Paul E. turns back to his hired goons.

Paul Heyman:
If you beat Puder … you get Terkay. And if you… (Laughs) yeah, if you somehow make it past him … then you’ll have earned your match … (Holds up his belt, smirking) with The Real Deal.

~ More boos, as both Terkay and Puder begin to fire themselves up.

{Tazz: This is a crock.

Michael Cole:
Course it is.}

Paul Heyman:
So, uh… let’s see how bad you really are, Edge. Let’s see if you really are … (Scoffs) Rated R.

~ Edge barely moves.

Paul Heyman:
What? You look surprised? You didn’t think you could just… smash Shane McMahon’s skull in… leaving him in a pool of his own blood… and get away with it… did you?

{Tazz: Uh… what?

Michael Cole
: Is this- Is Stephanie McMahon behind this?}

~ With that, Heyman leaves the ring, taking Terkay with him, and gesturing for the official to make Lashley do the same, which he does, sending the angry monster to the floor.

Michael Cole:
Oh… yeah, this is being a tough guy? Please.

Edge is absolutely furious, as the referee shows him the contract that Heyman brought to the ring with him. The official can clearly be heard, “Look, there’s nothing I can do. The match is signed.” Looking resigned to his fate, the Champion turns, as Daniel Puder begins to jog up the ring steps, slapping himself in the face for some extra intensity.

6 - Gauntlet Match

World Hvywt. Chmp.
Edge
vs. Daniel Puder w/Paul Heyman, Bobby Lashley & Sylvester Terkay

Young Daniel Puder is the first man in then, showing absolutely no fear of the monster awaiting him, locking up with Edge right off the bat … only for The Rated R Superstar to HURL PUDER OVERHEAD WITH INCREDIBLE STRENGTH!!

The crowd
“ooh’s” and “ah’s” at this display of power, whilst Puder scrambles around in shock, and Edge stays on his toes. Puder doesn’t back down though, coming back at his opponent, and actually succeeding in taking the champion down this time, showcasing some of his Mixed Martial Arts background, grounding Edge. This doesn’t last long, however, with the World Heavyweight Champion able to power back up to his feet once again and TOSS Puder overhead like he were a small child!! More "oh’s” can be heard, as Edge takes control, annihilating the youngster in the corner, before bringing him out and sending him across the ring into the far corner. Edge charges, but Puder gets a boot up, kicking him away. Puder rushes at his opponent … who swings with a CLOTHESLINE -- BUT PUDER DUCKS - GOES BEHIND - DRILLING EDGE WITH A HUGE GERMAN SUPLEX!!

More impressed
“ooh’s” and “ah’s” reverberate through the arena, as the young newcomer succeeds in doing something that very people have ever done. The MMA expert gets a bit carries away though, high-fiving his buddy Terkay at ringside, as Heyman screams for him to turn around … where a furious Edge is ALREADY back on his feet!!

Puder turns … and is TURNED INSIDE OUT WITH A THUNDEROUS CLOTHESLINE!!!

Edge gives the arrogant youngster a few more for good measure, continuing to dominate Puder all around the ring, occasionally glancing across at the Number One Contender on the floor. Edge slams Puder into the turnbuckle repeatedly spine-first, before throwing him around the ring with a series of beautifully executed Belly-Belly’s, glancing over his shoulder to make sure everyone is watching, with Puder ragdolling as best he can. In the zone, Edge picks Puder up in his arms like a baby, DRIVES HIM DOWN ACROSS HIS KNEE WITH A BACKBREAKER!! Holding onto the youngster, Edge then MILITARY PRESSES THE 240LBER OVERHEAD!!!

Thunderous
“Oh’s” can be heard, as Lashley stares at his SummerSlam opponent with wide eyes. Edge, trembling with power, quickly brings Puder down across his shoulders, manoeuvres him around a bit, points across at Heyman and co., before CHARGING ACROSS THE RING - DRILLING HIM WITH LASHLEY’S OWN RUNNING POWERSLAM!!! An easy cover for World Champion. 1... 2... 3!!

Winner - Edge via pinfall @ 3:04.

Tazz:
It- It’s over, guys! Just like that!!

The crowd cheers, as Edge jumps right back up to his feet, not looking out of breath in the slightest, ready for the next man, with Heyman covering his face with his hands.

Tazz:
Oh yeah baby, Heyman is sweatin’ now, ha, ha, ha!!

Michael Cole:
Look at the look on Heyman’s face! The agent is scared to DEATH!!

That he does. Terkay makes a beeline for the ring right away, but Paul E. pulls him back, trying to drill a few more last minute instructions into the beast, as Daniel Puder is helped out of the ring.

Michael Cole:
But now it’s the turn of this- this MONSTER Sylvester Terkay!

Letting out a ROAR, Terkay turns and SLIDES STRAIGHT INTO THE RING, WHERE EDGE IMMEDIATELY DIVES ON HIM!!

Match 6b

World Hvywt. Chmp.
Edge
vs. Sylvester Terkay

Edge stays on Terkay as soon after the bell, pounding away on the big man, before hooking his arms, and TOSSING THE 320LBER OVERHEAD WITH AN INCREDIBLE BUTTERFLY SUPLEX!!

The
“ooh’s” and “ah’s” greet the impressive strength of The Rated R Superstar, as Heyman rakes his fingers through his ponytail nervously. The punishment continues from Edge, simply not allowing Terkay’s size to become a factor, as he works him over, hitting a few more suplexes with absolute ease. He’s almost enjoying himself in there, is the World Heavyweight Champion, as he glares over at the man he meets for the belt in a little under two weeks. After a while though, Edge’s methodical approach costs him, as he pulls Terkay up … and Terkay quickly takes him down, instantly grounding The Ultimate Opportunist, trapping him awkwardly on the canvas, not allowing him to wriggle or even muscle free.

Now Edge is in trouble, with the massive Terkay on top of him, controlling his arms, bending, wrenching and twisting away on them, whilst at the same time pounding away at his face with vicious fists, drawing constant warnings from the official!! The crowd
“Oh’s” at this vicious offence from the man known as The Predator, not used to seeing the World’s Champion in this kind of dangerous predicament. Heyman is a bit more animated now, yelling through the ropes,“C’mon, c’mon, break his arm! Break it!” And Terkay is doing his upmost to do just that, cinching in a variety of arm submissions, trying to force Edge to quit, as well as continuously hammering away at his face, obviously trying to open him up.

With Terkay trying his best to hold onto the Cross Armbreaker, Edge actually pulls himself up to his knees, sucking down deep for some extra strength, as his gruff opponent shakes his head in disbelief, as Edge PICKS TERKAY UP OFF THE CANVAS - SLAMMING HIM DOWN - FINALLY BREAKING FREE!!!

More tremendous
“Oh’s” ring out, as Heyman has his hands on his head, unable to believe what he just witnessed. Edge, still favouring his arm, pulls himself back up, touching the spot above his right eye, where the continual blows from Terkay have opened a small cut. Seeing the blood, Edge goes nuts, running through The Predator with a series of clotheslines, before muscling him into the corner and mauling him, trying to open him up as well!! He sends Terkay across the ring with authority, catching him on the way back, LAUNCHING THE 320LBER ACROSS THE RING WITH AN UNCHARACTERISTIC MONSTROUS BELLY-TO-BELLY!!

Edge is rollin’ now. He delivers another suplex to his beastly opponent, before dragging him up … but LASHLEY HOPS ONTO THE APRON - AND EDGE TAKES A SWING AT HIM -- BUT THE REAL DEAL NEATLY DROPS OUT OF HARM’S WAY!!

Edge glares psychotically at the number one contender, not paying attention to the screams of the crowd … as Terkay waits, crouching, behind him. Edge turns … AND EDGE BEATS TERKAY TO IT - EXPLODING OUT OF THE BLOCKS - CUTTING THE PREDATOR IN HALF WITH A FEROCIOUS SPEAR!!!

As the
“Oh’s” ring out, as Terkay writhes around in agony, broken in half, with Edge pointing to the intense Lashley, letting him know he’s next, before dropping down and hooking the far leg. 1... 2... 3!!

Winner - Edge via pinfall @ 06:01.

Another pop rings out, as Edge sits up, staring straight at the raging Number One Contender.

Michael Cole:
So much for Sylvester Terkay!! Thanks for coming! Edge defeats this monster with a- a- a SPEAR!

His teeth clenched in a mixture of intensity and anger, Heyman turns away from the ring, walking back up the ramp with his head down, stopping halfway, as the crowd boos, and both the referee and Edge yell after him.

The Miz:
This is disgusting.

Tazz:
I… uh… I gotta say I’m surprised that Heyman’s so worried. Take a look at ‘is client.

Edge stands against the ropes, breathing a bit more heavily now, and trying to stop the referee from checking the cut above his eye.

Michael Cole:
In… in under ten minutes … Edge has seen off two former professional fighters in Daniel Puder and Sylvester Terkay. Now he gets what he wants. Now he gets the man who attacked him at The Great American Bash.

As Sylvester Terkay is helped out of the ring, a handful of officials rush down the ramp, trying to get Heyma to tell Lashley to get into the ring; surrounding Paul E., they plead with and threaten the loudmouth, who looks at them with furious eyes and across at Lashley, who is just chomping at the fucking bit.

Michael Cole:
Looks like Heyman is trying to worm his way out of this thing, but… but this was his idea in the first place. Edge has successfully run the gauntlet. And now Lashlet must step in the ring with the World Heavyweight Champion face-to-face.

Lashley continues to try and push his way through the mob of old geezers, no wanting to wait for his manager’s say so, desperate for a piece of the champion awaiting him in the ring, as the crowd chants loudly for the fight.

Tazz:
Can’t say I’m surprised, Cole. Heyman ain’t exactly the kind of guy you wanna be associated with.

Michael Cole:
Bobby Lashley looks ready to explode. Paul Heyman has his man pumped. How badly does The Real Deal want to be the World Heavyweight Champion?!

The Miz:
I’d say quite a lot, Michael Cole. Edge just beat two of the most dangerous men Heyman could find … and he made it look easy. But I think The Real Deal would quite like a piece of the champ.

Holding up his hands, Paul E. finally seems to be assenting with his superiors, yelling, “Okay, okay, fine!” He asks for space, and the group back away slightly, as the agent takes a deep breath, staring up at the ring with a great deal of trepidation, running his hand down his face, as Lashley looks on.

Michael Cole:
The crowd wants to see it, we want to see. Yeah, yeah, in your own time, Heyman.

Slowly, reaching up, never once taking his eyes off the ring, Heyman … nods to Lashley, WHO TEARS HIS SHIRT OFF!

Tazz:
The coat’s comin’ off, Cole, I- I think we’re goin’!

Snarling like a beast, Lashley slaps himself in the face a bunch of times, trying to fire himself up, before pointing threateningly at his opponent … AND STORMING DOWN TO THE RING!!

The Miz:
Oh yeah, this is what I’ve been looking forward to since I got here!!

Lashley stomps up the ring steps, staring a hole through the World Heavyweight Champion, who remains eerily impassive, just waiting for his opponent to step through the ropes, which he finally does.

Michael Cole:
Ever the egotist, Heyman couldn’t handle the accusations of cowardice levelled at his client, and now here comes the man who many people are already calling the next World Heavyweight Champion! Here we go!!

Match 6c

World Hvywt. Chmp.
Edge
vs. Bobby Lashley

Bouncing up and down like a mad man, Lashley yells at his opponent to bring it on. Edge doesn’t need asking twice, as he takes a step towards the Number One Contender, not heeding the screams…

…as DANIEL PUDER RE-ENTERS THE RING WITH A STEEL CHAIR–

-WHACK! HE SMASHES EDGE ACROSS THE BACK!!!

-BUT EDGE NO-SELLS IT, TURNS, AND DIVES ON PUDER!!! The referee frantically calls for the bell, disqualifying Lashley.

Winner - Edge via disqualification @ 00:07.

Michael Cole:
WHAT THE- PUDER!!

The boos the result but cheers the assault on Puder, as Edge pounds away on the youngster…

…not noticing Lashley grab the discarded steel chair … and … WAFFLES EDGE ACROSS THE BACK OF THE HEAD WITH IT!!!

Michael Cole:
OH NO!!

“Oh’s” and boos ring out, as Edge slumps, with Puder pushing him away. Heyman rolls back into the ring with a huge shit-eating grin on his face, as Lashley SLAMS the chair down with authority, staring at his unconscious opponent with wild, crazy, savage eyes, looking extremely pissed off with just about everyone in the building.

Tazz:
They set ‘im up, Cole!

The Miz:
What a plan!

Terkay re-enters the ring, and Heyman yells at his two hired thugs, “Get that sunnuva’ bitch on his feet!” Nodding, both Puder and Terkay grab an arm, hauling the extremely groggy Edge up to his feet. Clutching his title belt, Paul E. shoves it right in the Canadian’s face, SLAPPING away at him repeatedly, screaming, “This is HIS, you hear me?! This has NEVER been yours! He’s gonna MURDER you! You’re NOTHING!”

Michael Cole:
This is- This is- NOBODY has EVER done this to Edge before!!

The crowd boos the HELL out of this disgusting attack, and even the referee scrambles up onto the apron out of sheer desperation … BUT LASHLEY DRILLS HIM WITH A RIGHT HAND, knocking him right back down to the floor!!!

Tazz:
OH!!

Turning around with a deranged look on his face, The Real Deal waves for Heyman, Puder and Terkay to watch out, as he CHARGES ACROSS THE RING … CUTTING EDGE IN HALF WITH A DEVASTATING SPEAR!!!

Michael Cole:
AND A SPEAR!! EDGE HAS BEEN DECIMATED HERE!!

More “Oh’s” and boos ring out, as Lashley stays on top of his SummerSlam opponent, getting right in his face, with Heyman proudly declaring, “THAT’S how you do a Spear.” Grabbing the title belt, Lashley gets back up to his feet, holding the gold high into the air, receiving more deafening heat from the Nashville audience.

*Backstage - GM’s Office*

Stephanie McMahon is sat, her elbows on the desk in front, her hands laced together in front of her mouth, her eyes focused on the monitor, where Michael Cole’s shrill voice can still be heard wailing away
...

“I THINK WE CAN SAFELY SAY THAY NO ONE WILL BE WRITING LASHLEY OFF AFTER TONIGHT!!!”

Is that a nod from Miss McMahon? Who knows, because the camera cuts over to the monitor for our final shots before closing: various officials down and out at ringside: the returning Daniel Puder and the debuting Sylvester Terkay looking on proudly from one side of the ring; and on the other, being lauded by his egotistical agent Paul Heyman, the dominant, seemingly incumbent next World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley standing over, for the first time in the reign of the Rated R Superstar, a BLOODY, FALLEN Edge…

Default Re: Legend Presents: WWE 2006 - Stop Your Grinnin' And Drop Your Linen

Smackdown Feedback

Mamajuana Inc. is my favourite thing going on Smackdown right now so I’m always gonna enjoy them starting off the show. JBL was just JBL to a tee here, perfectly written, loved his little interactions with Albright. Onto Henry and he’s the smart choice to have as the muscle of this group, I don’t think you’ll stick him at the top of the card but he is certainly handy if needs be as well. Open challenge? Nice but only one guy gonna answer that. Punk wanting a piece of Henry is understandable and JBL going about his business as expected, some nice lines in there, particularly the restraining order lol. I would say that really and truly, why on earth would JBL stop a guy like Mark Henry from going to work on a guy like CM Punk? I know it’s the typical JBL thing to do but I’m sure Henry wouldn’t be phased at all. ‘The world famous powerhouse Danny Ace’ haha, brilliant. Henry’s dominance displayed making for a very nice opening segment here.

Well I thought that was segment over but wow, did not see this one coming. JBL and Heyman in a battle of the agents/managers would be incredible but just this slight interaction was enough for me. A Lashley/Henry confrontation at some stage would no doubt be big. Layfield referencing money being brought into the equation was nice as that’s what he’s all for. Punk showing his face again was nice, although not sure he’d have escaped the trainers/referees etc quite so easily. Good continuation of this feud though.

Only criticism in all this really would be that it’s dragged a bit long as we run into the second segment now and we’re still in the ring with one of the guys just involved in Mr.Lashley. It’s probably just me nitpicking but still. Solid match up here with B-Lash and Hardy. Hardy certainly looked no slouch here but yet Lashley still looked impressive. Job done as far as this goes.

Good stuff with Edge here, really showed off just how fired up he is here, the line about Lashley being handed everything was a good one. This also showed that he isn’t afraid of Lashley at all which makes things all the more interesting. Edge is clearly the tweener in all this and it’s a nice change for Edge not to be backing down, dodging and diving away from challenges. Lets hope it continues.

Regal is just about characterised perfectly I have to say, love reading your writing for him and what he and the Bluebloods had to say here was really bang on the money. MNM making their presence felt was to be expected, though I didn’t like how they did their bit and then went straight into a match. Would’ve had the match then the Bluebloods appearance. Aftermath probably explains why you went that way, easy win and no shock the Bluebloods reappear. BIG announcement from Steph and I feel it’s the right one. Personally I would’ve made it Triple Threat from the get go but adding MNM this late to things still works due to the intensity of this feud.

Nitro/Regal was as expected a very good quality match with some excellent spots throughout but the winner was blatantly obvious with MNM earning their way in. Certainly a different way of ending things I might add, wasn’t too keen but it works I guess. A knockout win for Johnny Nitro, never thought I’d see the day lol.

Aftermath was pretty chaotic but I’ve come to expect nothing less from you. London and Kendrick coming down to even the odds was a nice touch as I was starting to think they wouldn’t appear tonight, wise move in allowing them to do so. Should be a mammoth match at Summerslam.

Short and sweet from Finlay as should be. Got his point across though and it’s a very menacing one at that. Be interesting to see what does happen with he and his intentions upon returning.

Albright against Chance Prendrick? Uhmmmm, I wonder who wins? Yeah.

Solid enough statement from Kennedy here and a nice little point from him about not knowing his opponent at the Bash, now it’s the Hardyz turn. I really haven’t a clue who it’ll be at the moment, a returning Christian perhaps? MVP? We shall see. Match was good for what we got, was never gonna end clean as there’s two stars in the making inside so countout wasn’t a bad way to go if a little underwhelming.

Kid Kash is another one that I love reading you write. ‘I don’t care if he’s from Timbuk-Freakin’-Tu’ was absolutely brilliant. Noble was on song also here, having Yun alongside him right now though is probably a little unnecessary as he’s just a pawn in this Noble/Kash saga. Book these two for Summerslam….please.

Clever, clever stuff from Heyman, nothing unexpected though with that evil genius. I remember very little about either Puder or Terkay but I do remember enough of them to remember who they were and yes Terkay does look like a badass. Edge was always gonna come away with the wins and it’s a nice little spin to have, keeping things fresh, keeping things different, it’s always enjoyable to read. Really clever ending here and just another masterstroke from Heyman, reeling Edge in and then Puder striking. Edge being left so vulnerable is great as it get the fans firmly on his side now, there’s no doubting that as Lashley comes out once again looking a complete animal. The little nod of the head from Steph at the end was a fitting way to end the show, that little bit of intrigue and mystery to go with another brutal display from the Dominator.

Really enjoyable as ever Legend. Mamajuana Inc. are really looking like big players now with Henry by their side, despite Punk’s solid display tonight, inside and outside the ring, Mamajuana don’t look any weaker. Kennedy/Hardy was a little slow tonight but I guess it had to take a slight backseat soon enough. Edge/Lashley and the Tag ranks were the highlights for me. That Triple Threat at Summerslam will be incredible and the Edge/Lashley match has taken shape very, very nicely following the end here.

Not been around enough lately, but the Summerslam card is absolutely amazing, as expected. It seems so long since we were both discussing how much fun you were having planning it out. The wait is sure going to be worth it. Haas/Benjamin has been well built and not your normal "partner turns on partner" scenario and HBK's turn to the dark side has been well handled. No better guy to oppose him in that than John Cena, WWE's perennial protector.

Just wanted 2 say, this thread is about the PERFECT fantasy wrestling year I have read since well...ever.

So hooked loved the HBK heel turn and now the clash with Cena, the WM PPV was a work of art top to bottom.

Now the Summer Slam card looks to give WM 23 some run for its money & the title of "PPV of the year."

Can't wait to read more.

Default Re: Legend Presents: WWE 2006 - Stop Your Grinnin' And Drop Your Linen

Two words: Welcome back.

Current Card for SummerSlam
August 20th, 2006
Boston, Massachusetts

WWE Championship Match:
The Big Show © w/Paul Bearer
vs. The Gold Rush Tournament Winner, 'Mr. Monday Night' Rob Van Dam
From what I remember in this thread, Van Dam has been on the push of a lifetime since WrestleMania. He went over Triple H at that show - didn't he? - and then returned after being ousted by Big Show in that cage match at Backlash. I'm not quite sure what the end result of this whole ECW storyline is going to be, but putting that to one side, I think Van Dam should walk out of this match with the WWE Championship for multiple reasons. For one, as AWESOME as Big Show has been in general in this thread as a character, I still remember and feel his title reign has been overshadowed by the whole ECW angle amongst other storylines like HHH/Angle and Cena/HBK, so the time is right for him to drop the belt. Besides that, Carlito still has the Money in the Bank briefcase, and so I could see Van Dam winning the title only for Carlito to cash in immediately, if not at some point down the road. Another factor is that if Van Dam doesn't take the belt from Big Show, who else can he feud with? He took the title from Kurt Angle, he's feuding with RVD, I can't see you continuing his title issue with Kane, Triple H had a shot, and everyone else is busy with other stuff right now. I think as well that since the thread has been gone for so long, a new champion might feel "fresh", but more than that; I feel all of the reasons above will see Van Dam win the WWE Championship. He may not walk out of SummerSlam as CHAMPION, if Carlito cashes in, but he will win the gold.

World Heavyweight Championship Match:
‘The Rated R Superstar’ Edge ©
vs. ‘The Real Deal’ Bobby Lashley w/Paul Heyman & The Friday Night Fight Club*
I feel that SummerSlam is the culmination of several pushes in this thread, and with Lashley on a tear since his heel turn and feud with Undertaker, I can't see him NOT becoming champion. Edge has been World Heavyweight Champion since WrestleMania, and I think his time with the belt is coming to an end. I'm not sure if after this match we'll see you revert Edge back to a full-fledged heel or whether he'll continue down the path of a 'tweener', but regardless of that, for a match that hasn't been massively built up in comparison to the WWE Title main event, I still think a title change is warranted. Edge has been beaten up several times by Lashley, which would normally suggest he overcomes the odds and retains his title, but I just can't see the unstoppable force that is Lashley not walking out of SummerSlam the new World Heavyweight Champion.

ECW World Heavyweight Championship Match:
'The Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying' Sabu ©
vs.‘The Legend Killer’ Randy Orton
Simple - Orton kills the legend of ECW by taking its belt. Why should Sabu have any reason to go over here? Orton has been an integral part of this thread, thinking back to his feud with the McMahons at WrestleMania time. He's got to go over.

The Homecoming:
‘The Doctor of Thuganomics’ John Cena vs.‘The Artist Formerly Known As The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels
{John Cena's entire family MUST be at ringside for this match}
First of all let me just say that this has got to be my favourite feud heading into this show. The way you've transformed Shawn Michaels' character and the logic behind it is fantastic, and I've enjoyed everything that you've written thus far. I think this feud still has long legs to it post-SummerSlam, and so I'm predicting that Michaels will use the emotion that Cena draws from his family against him. I wouldn't be shocked to see Cena go over, but I just think that Michaels going over makes more sense if the program is to continue.

Tag Team Grudge Match; The Return of the Hardys:
The Hardys, Matt & Jeff vs.Mr. Kennedy & A Mystery Partner
No idea who Kennedy's partner will be, but I know that you're far more into Kennedy the character in this thread than The Hardys so I don't see them winning this match.

The Final Encounter; Unsanctioned “I Quit” Match:
‘The Wrestling Machine’ Kurt Anglevs. ‘The Game’ Triple H
Your "hate" for Triple H has been demonstrated several times in the BTB Discussion Thread, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Angle kick the sh*t out of 'Haitch here and put him on the shelf indefinitely.

---

Intercontinental Championship Match:
Shelton Benjamin ©
vs.Charlie Haas II
This has been another interesting storyline that you've developed going into this event. I'm not sure if either man will make the full-fledged heel turn, or whether you'll go down the "healthy competition" route, but if one does turn, it'll be Haas. He has more reason to be jealous considering how successful Benjamin has been in WWE and so I see Haas finally surrendering to some cheap tactics in order to get the job done and take the title from his so-called "friend." It won't be a full-blown "here's a chair to the skull to make me a heel" kind of win, but more along the lines of Haas cheating "without knowing" that he cheated, before eventually stabbing Benjamin in the back. I could be completely wrong though.

United States Championship Match:
Rey Mysterio © vs.The Shooter’ Brent Albright w/MamaJuana, Inc.
A complete guess tbh, but I get the feeling SummerSlam is going to be a show where numerous championships switch hands, not to mention that Mysterio's been champion for a while and Albright taking the title allows him to drop it to CM Punk later.

Money in the Bank Contract on the Line:
Carlito ($) w/Chris Masters & Torrie Wilson
vs.‘The Big Red Machine' Kane
Like I need to explain this one.

WWE Tag Team Championship; Triple Threat Match:
The Bluebloods © w/Melina & Dave Taylor vs. The Hooligans vs. MNM

Women’s Championship Match:
Mickie James © vs. Trish Stratus

PREDICTION COMPETITION
1) Predict the winners (22 points {2 points per correct prediction}) Done.
2) Who will be Mr Kennedy's partner? (3 points if you get it right) Booker T/King Booker? Odd that he's not on the card.
3) Who will take the fall in the WWE Tag Team Title match? (3 points for specific wrestler) Johnny Nitro.
3) What will be the longest match?? (2 points) Cena vs. HBK.
4) What will be the shortest match?? (2 points)
Women's Title.

Default Re: Legend Presents: WWE 2006 - Stop Your Grinnin' And Drop Your Linen

You can probably guess how pleased/excited/ecstatic I am that this is back. I’ll not waste time going on about that. <3

Bit surprised you’ve jumped straight to the PPV, and skipped over the last week of build as I’m sure it would’ve been epic … and it might’ve offered a few hints as to Summerslam winners

Anyway - prediction time…

In what I expect to be the main event (although Cena vs. Michaels could be the surprise show closer - it is THE big feud) I think this will be the culmination of Rob Van Dams road to the WWE Championship. He’s been positioned on Raw as the top face (or at very least, equal to Cena) since the beginning, and while you initially did a brilliant job with Big Show post-WrestleMania as the monster heel, with Paul Bearer as his kick ass manager, I still feel he lost his momentum when he got lost in the shuffle with the ECW program suffocating the Raw brand almost as soon as he became champion. I think him dropping the belt could be the best thing for him to regain some momentum and direction. Those reasons aside; it makes storyline sense - RVD has been through the ringer, and to topple the worlds largest athlete at the biggest event of the summer - getting payback on Show in the process for having him banished in April. Van Dam wins.

And if RVD is overcoming the monster on Raw, Edge isn’t beating Smackdowns Terminator. Bobby Lashley has all the momentum in the world - destroying The Undertaker, beating Batista, not to mention he has Paul ‘F’N’ Heyman and a couple of heavies by his side, it’s all nicely set up for Edge to lose to Lashley albeit valiantly, unable to overcome a stacked deck - and it wouldn’t surprise me if Shane were to make a surprise return to screw Edge over. I don’t think you’ll pass up on the opportunity to run with an unstoppable monster as champion, unlike some people around these parts

Whilst Orton hasn’t exactly been covered in glory during the run in this thread; unable to ever challenge for a title again, and after merely being in and out of the thread since WrestleMania, you started to really kick started his push with the promo a few weeks back (thread time that is. It feels like a decade ago in real life) and now, it feels like he does have some direction … and what a kick in the teeth it would be for anyone associated with ECW to see a WWE born and bred superstar holding their title. Orton leaves Summerslam as the ECW Champion.

There was a point when the Cena/Michaels rivalry was losing steam. Right around SNME if I’m thinking correctly, but just in time for this event, you kicked it up a couple more gears - in fact - you turned the heat up to 11 (out of ten) and it’s never been more personal than now. Your Shawn Michaels character has been nothing short of phenomenal throughout the history of this thread - you’ve been the catalyst for quite a few HBK heels turns imo; that’s how brilliantly you’ve pulled this off. I also love the fact that you didn’t take the predictable route and put these two inside HIAC or in an Unsanctioned Streetfight to blow it off like 99.9% of bookers would do too, going a completely different route, keeping it one on one, but having Cenas family ringside. This may end up simply furthering the story, rather than a culmination, which is why I think Shawn Michaels will be the winner; BUT, he might not have his arm raised in victory per se - but he will be walking out having humiliated Cena one way or another in front of his family. I cant wait to see this spectacle.

Kennedy and whomever his partner is will be a thrown together tag team; Matt & Jeff are brothers & multiple time tag team champions. This is a no-brainer for me, The Hardy Boys win, even though you’re high on Mr. Kennedy. Despite suffering a loss here, Kennedy will be the one going places in the long run. This way, you get to blow off the Kennedy/Matt Hardy affair with the faces riding off into the sunset, with the Hardys building momentum toward a run at the tag team titles, and Kennedy can focus on his singles career.

I have to echo Kings sentiments on Kurt Angle vs. Triple H. In fact, I’m echoing a lot of his thoughts here. Not copying him, honest. I don’t get swayed like that. No, Kurt Angle bludgeons Triple H violently and emphatically, forcing him to quit, crawl under a rock, and probably never come back if you have your way.

The Intercontinental Championship WILL steal the show IMO. This has been bubbling under for months, but I think another bitter loss - especially if he has the match won at some point but no referee to count a fall, or something like that - for Charlie Haas against Shelton Benjamin could be the straw that breaks the camels back, and send Haas over the edge, giving us the long awaited, full blown heel turn - either directly after this match, or in the next couple of weeks on Raw. Plus, I’ve predicted a lot of title switches already. At least one champ has to retain, right? Right??

Brent Albright has been on an almighty roll, and he’s still undefeated. Rey isn’t the man to end that streak. Rey has been a solid champion, but it’s time for a change - and how better to switch the belt to than a fresh face?? The Shooter has enough back up to take care of Rey and grab the U.S Title, adding some gold into the mix for his ready to go feud with CM Punk once Mysterio is disposed of.

There’s more chance of me becoming a character in this thread, being a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble and headlining WrestleMania than there is of you taking the briefcase from Carlito and giving it to the Big Red Machine. Carlito goes over, albeit via nefarious means. Because that’s how he always wins.

It’s a shame this triple threat tag feud that’s been running for almost the entirety of the thread is buried so far down the card for Summer slam - but I guess that‘s the disadvantages of such a stacked line up. Hardy a bad problem. It’s for that reason that I think The Bluebloods keep the titles for now, until you get the chance to give these three teams one more spotlight PPV match on a Smackdown brand event in a few months.

Trish feels a little stale at this point, and I don’t see the need for her to win the title back from Mickie right now. Just don’t see where the interest would lie in doing the switch, unless you want Mickie to become completely unhinged?? When it is time for Mickie to drop the belt, I think it’ll be to a new face - not Trish, who doesn’t really need the belt anymore anyway. Besides, I don’t think Mickie loses the belt until some way far, far down the road. So, yeah. Mickie James retains.

PREDICTION COMPETITION
1) Predict the winners (22 points {2 points per correct prediction}) Done.
2) Who will be Mr Kennedy's partner? (3 points if you get it right) I’ll say Christian, because that’s who I’d want it to be in my own fantasy world. I think it’ll be someone far less interesting though. Like some big muscle head bodyguard. Prediction is officially Christian making a shock return.
3) Who will take the fall in the WWE Tag Team Title match? (3 points for specific wrestler) Joey Mercury.
3) What will be the longest match?? (2 points) Benjamin vs. Haas
4) What will be the shortest match?? (2 points) Carlito vs. Kane
