Re: TNA - Death Before Dishonor
Nige's Destination X Review
First of all mate, a big well done for getting this show up as it is. The build up, the preview, graphics were all amazing and made it a must read. And straight off, it just looks inredible so a big well done for what looks like a contender for the best PPV on here. The work you've put in looks to be enormous and i really hope that you get the credit you deserve for this
The opening video was sheer brilliance. The detail was unbelievable, playing on the wrestlers destination at the start. Very well written and very easy to imagine in your head. Great stuff man, clear example of why your show should be up with the best, if not the best
I think you chose the best match to open the show. As important as the World X Cup is, it plays a back seat to the rest of the matches on the card. First off, the matches being in full will please some people and displease others. I've never been a fan of the matches been written in full but it's only fair that as you put so much effort in and that you are probably the booker i respect most, that i read them all which is why it's taken a long time to read and digest it all. The booking here was spot on, Juvi going first and great fashion too may i say. The match carried on greatly, with some brilliant action, fast pace, realistic spots not going too far. The next fall was going to be key to me and having Fleisch do the job sets it up for a Sydal win. Great carry on too with some unbelievable spots and counters, Sydal looking to be a big player by the looks of things. The selling of the belly to back suplex was tremendous which leads to a big win for the Dragon who i know little about to be honest. Great first match, total shock for me!
The next match was incredibly well written. I think having Sting leave to the back was a key factor in this match and sold it for me that Serotonin were going to win this one. I was sure going in that Abyss & Sting would walk out of this as the winners, but now it looks unlikely, unless Abyss is in for hell one of a push. The match carries on well and having Raven looking on is a good move i think. Bloody hell, what a move by Raven with the kendo stick. Big, big win for Serotonin! Push in the cards for this lot!
The next section was big! Daniels sets his stall out for his push! The Briscoes have arrived, and pairing them up with Daniels is a great idea! Absolute genius! What they did to Sting really puts a marker out for the future for this new faction, which i think is brimming with potential. I can't wait to see what happens next
Joe interview was good, signalling he has a real drive to get back to the top. Real sense used here not to push Joe all the way to the top straight away. This match and feud will really help him get there, as Hernandez may not be a string singles performer, but has done wonders with LAX. The match itself was great and Hernandez was made to look a real threat and was not as one sided as i expected. I really thought that Hernandez had it with the running powerslam, but a great counter with the island driver pulled out a big win for Joe. His intensity and drive throughout was top notch. This match has also done wonders for Hernanadez, as a singles push off this would not look wrong for him
What an amazing tag match, just like i knew it would be. It was so good to read, it was the one match, maybe alongside the Ultimate X still to come that i couldn't wait for. It didn't disappoint. You obviosuly know the in ring styles and moves of these guys inside out. Low Ki in particular was outstanding in this match. The loss of Hernandez's power may have been a big reason for this. Some real good sections to this match. Throughout though, i always got the impression that LAX would retain. I was pulling for Killings & Lethal but i think the potential that Low Ki & Homicide have is as exciting as anything in this thread. What a team they made in this match. They pulled out the stops and the stomp from Low Ki into the finish from Homicide was great. Tremendous match, can this show get any better???!
Great promo from Christian. As i said last week, i fully expect a Tomko run in for the main event against Angle. This promo adds so much to the intrigue into what will happen, but i'm sticking with my original thought
Ultimate X with possibly the best ever superstars you could witness. Aries & Shelley are arguably the two most deserving guys in TNA and so deserve the match you have put them in. One of these will win, just a question of who. I think i went with Shelley before and although i've got a feeling about Aries, i'll stick with Shelley
What a match this was. Unbelievable! Only word for it. Wasn't a spotfest at all like i would expect from other people. It swung back and forth, leaning towards Aries quite a bit until my boy Shelley took the initiative! What a monster combo on Sabin!! Jesus christ, what a mind you have!! Took him out of the game and what leads to a big win for Shelley! The right call i think and a feud with Aries would be amazing if you can write a match like that for them, which i know you can
What a match this should be for the title. The big match for me, even ahead of the dream match. A slowish start which is probably needed if the match is going to last a while. Angle looks good, taking the match to Christian, so intense it's unreal! Sounds wrong, unreal in a good way i meant! I really thought Angle had it a few times, especially towards the end when it looked like Christian was close to tapping and then, here comes Tomko. What the hell id he doing? Elbow dropping Christian! Getting him DQ'd means he loses the title!! Didn't see that coming!
Oh right, there we go! I knew there'd be a dodgy finish with Tomko saving him! That was very well done, the whole backing up the aisle was clever. I don't know whether it was to escape Angle or to oversell it. Whatever, it worked big time! Very well done! Even though it's a BS ending to a title match, it works given the situation
Here we go then, your big match that you've spent so much work on! The promos have been great going into this! The match should be just as good as every match you've wrote has been superb. Oh man, i see why it's a dream match as i can see the crowd responding to it straight away. The start is great with both guys feeling each other up. Probably the best way to go. This match gets better and better as it goes on, what a great spot there with Jericho uses all his strength to counter and get into a bridge. The selling here was written perfectly. Just carries on to get better and better. Wait, why are you having Penzer announce the time gone and not West or Tenay? Is this going where i think it is?! 50 minutes now! Yeah here go, no winner. Reminds me so much of the HBK Bret match from Mania XII. The Phenominal lock is in, i thought Jericho would have the walls in for the end! What a counter! Here it is the walls are locked in. No way Jericho is going to tap, not with such little time left. . . A draw, no surprise with the announcements from Penzer! Great match, tremendous match and totally deserves the title of dream match. The question is, can you better that with the certain rematch?
Overall man, it was brilliant. Only things that i think spoilt it was the announcements from Penzer as it give away the finish of the main event when i was totally enthralled in who would win it. . . You deserve so much credit for that. By far the best show ever i have read! I really hope you get all the credit that this show instantly deserves. Just an amazing well done to get it all done!
Fantastic man! Absolutely brilliant, hope it goes down well like it should!
