Re: WF BTB: Thread Name Change and Partner Request Thread
I've seriously considered trying BTB out.
I've thought of something a little bit different that might or might not have been tried before.
I'm looking for three (3) partners to write with.
I was considering RAW and Smackdown but not ECW (although if you really want to we can talk about it).
Here's the thing:
For this to work we have to have 4 shows per brand per month.
And we have to have 1 PPV per month per year.
Here's the catch (no pun intended - catch means wrestling in Germany):
We'll each write for one week - one of us also writes that specific month's PPV.
WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT EACH OTHERS BOOKING DECISIONS.
PM's and dialogue pertaining to this BTB should be held to an absolute minimum - in a way you can compare this to being a guest host.
I'm writing for week # 1 of a specific month and really try to push a wrestler to a title match.
The guy who's writing week # 3 can effectively change that direction through his own clever booking, if he so wants to do that.
The fun part is that we have to respect and go along with whatever direction the previous writers wanted the shows to take.
We'll take turns all the time so we're not stuck with the same week and same or no PPV.
Month # 1:
WF member 1 = PPV + 1st week
WF member 2 = 2nd week
WF member 3 = 3rd week
WF member 4 = 4th week
Month # 2:
WF member 2 = PPV + 1st week
WF member 3 = 2nd week
WF member 4 = 3rd week
Wf member 1 = 4th week
Month # 3
WF member 3 = PPV + 1st week
WF member 4 = 2nd week
WF member 1 = 3rd week
WF member 2 = 4th week
... and so on.
This I think could create some very dynamic writing sessions - we're still in this together, but if we want to take some angle in a different direction (or scrap it completely) this is where the writing skills will come in to play.
There'll be no "Orton suddenly injured, Jericho takes his place" - oh no. You have to go with the flow.
I'd also like to add that a month "starts" with a PPV - it doesn't really but I think that the one writing week # 4 shouldn't also write the following PPV.
Why? Because he'll have too much "power" over that months final say, for lack of a better word.
This could work out great - unfortunately it can also bomb horrendously if we're not careful.
So those I'm looking for need to understand that there'll be no fighting through PM's because you disagree - if you disagree, formulate it in your show (or if you're lucky and it's your turn; your PPV).
The key words to this experiment is:
You don't take anything personally
You don't mind surprises
You are flexible and can adabt to any style and booking
You MUST have fun with this
Also if you have some experience it'll be fine but I prefer that you have at least 200 posts under your belt, so you're not just a one trick pony.
To sum it up:
You only have to write at least 1 RAW and 1 Smackdown per month and at most 1 RAW and 1 Smackdown and 1 PPV per month - this is great for those without too much time on the forums.
Be sure to know how the BTB rules work.
... and that's it!
This is just a basic layout of how I want it to play out but it can change once all 4 of us start brainstorming
