Re: Presenting: Paul Heyman's Evolution Pro Wrestling.
Yeah, well, here I am. I know I've said it'd never be back, but I lied. Not going to come in with a big spiel. Just want to let you know that this post will feature the episode of Online Oblivion (which is only an online show that I simply post the results for and that's it) following the last Enslaved that I never posted, I will be posting some news and notes and I will be posting the card to refresh everyone. The next post will be the Forsaken Pay Per View, there will be no preview. For a refresher, please have a read of the last show. Anyways, good to have this going again, hopefully it lasts some time. Depends how much time I have on my plate, but the fact I only have to write 1 hr shows again is probably a positive. So yeah, here we go kiddies, EPW is back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Following is from Pro Wrestling Insider:
Quote:
Terry Funk Injured
We have had word that Terry Funk was injured two weeks back on Enslaved during the Tag Team match where he teamed with CM Punk to take on Samoa Joe and Monty Brown. It’s believed that this injured is the reason the match seemed to end somewhat abruptly and it’s also the reason he wasn’t at Enslaved last week. The extent of the injury hasn’t been made public, Funk will definitely still be at Forsaken but this injury could be the reason why Joe put over the fact on Enslaved that he’ll be ending the match as soon as possible, expect the commentators to push this hard in the build up to the match too.
It’s expected that this match, especially now Funk is injured, could lead to a new talent being debuted to feud with Joe on Heyman’s behalf. Just who it is that will debut, remains to be seen.
Confirmed: Major Name Released from WWE!!!
We have it guaranteed 100% that a Main Event level player has been released from World Wrestling Entertainment. A name has not been released as yet but it’s expected that the release is as a result of another wellness violation. The fact that the recently “mega-pushed” Jeff Hardy was jobbed out so badly to Triple H on Raw last week could be a sign that Jeff is on the way out. Again.
Umaga Released from WWE
In a shocking turn of events, Umaga has been released from his WWE contract. No other details have be made public, but has been confirmed this Umaga is NOT the “Main Event Level” superstar that has been released.
Swerve Expected in Pain Chamber
You can fully expect a big swerve at Forsaken, it’s believed that there will be a very surprising early elimination, possibly Kurt Angle, further irritating him in his quest to become the champion. The winner is apparently still yet to be decided, numerous people backstage are pushing for a new Champion, a surprise Champion, while the main push is for Edge to retain and have his run as Champ continue into the New Year.
One source is saying that AJ Styles has been pushed heavily to actually win the title on Sunday night. Some EPW officials want to give fans the impression that literally anything can happen, so do not be surprised if AJ Styles picks up the win at Forsaken. This is partly why AJ got the win in the Battle Royal to see what sort of reaction it would get, it is also why he is constantly referring to himself is the biggest underdog in the match.
Matt Sydal’s Push
Paul Heyman is said to be a massive supporter of Matt Sydal. He has excelled now in 3, 10 + minute matches on Online Oblivion and Heyman has been so impressed with him that he is even going to be wrestling the dark match at Forsaken, where he will take on Sonjay Dutt. This is a huge coup for Sydal, especially given he hasn’t actually debuted on TV yet plus there is talent sitting in the back like Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, Colt Cabana and The Dudley Boyz all of whom do not have feature matches on the Pay Per View.
You can expect Sydal to debut very shortly, as soon as this Wednesday on Enslaved. It’s rumoured that he will be pushed very strongly from the start and could even have a match on the next Pay Per View.
Million Dollar Man at Forsaken
It’s believed that EPW’s Part Owner, Ted DiBiase Snr will be featured on the Pay Per View to some extent. His exact involvement is unknown, but he could be involved in the Joe/Heyman Storyline.
Next EPW Pay Per View
The next EPW Pay Per View will be held on Sunday, February 3rd in Houston, Texas. It’s believed the show will be entitled “The Awakening”.
EPW to start Development System
WWE recently severed ties with Ohio Valley Wrestling, but Paul Heyman was quick to pounce, citing “WWE’s loss, is EPW’s gain”. Evolution Pro Wrestling will now use OVW for development purposes. While they will not be signing a huge number of wrestlers to send down there, EPW’s involvement with OVW, will still be highly beneficial for both parties, particularly OVW as Paul Heyman has guaranteed the use of a different Main Eventer for a match every 6 weeks in the company, which is sure to gain a huge boost for OVW in terms of ratings, and attendance. It’s also expected that EPW want to take part in this move to try and steal some of WWE’s market.
Thus far, the following wrestlers have been signed to Development Deals;
Jake Hager
Harry Smith
TJ Wilson
Teddy Hart
Joe Hennig
Matt Morgan
Claudio Castagnoli
Chris Hero
Ken Doane Earns Second Chance
EPW have granted Ken Doane a second chance in his Professional Wrestling career when they secured him on a 1 year deal last week. Doane’s role in the company is unknown, but it’s believed Heyman has been a big fan of Doane since he was involved with him at OVW years ago.
EPW’s Online Oblivion December 6th, 2007.
Quote:
Jamie Noble def. Petey Williams @ 14:24 Two of the four competitors in the Cruiserweight Championship match at Forsaken face off and put on an extremely entertaining match up with several counters. Eventually Noble picked up the win courtesy of the Double Knee Gutbuster! After the match, Noble got on the microphone and reminded anyone that would listen that he’s taking the Cruiserweight Title tomorrow night.
Matt Sydal def. Juventud Guerrera @ 11:01 After an exciting match which included plenty of high flying moves, the young Matt Sydal picked up a huge win when he nailed the Shooting Star Press.
Cruiserweight Champion; Austin Aries def. Kid Kash via DQ @ 10:43 in a Non Title Match Aries nailed the Brain Buster but just as he was about to go up top, Jamie Noble came down to ringside and beat the living fuck out of him. Once Kash came to his senses it became a 2 on 1 assault, sending a definitive message to the champion.

Predictions welcome & appreciated. Hopefully some of you still care about this old thing and have the will to re-read the last show just as a refresher. Show will be posted in the next few days. It's done and ready to go, so we'll see what happens.
Re: Presenting: Paul Heyman's Evolution Pro Wrestling.
I'm not going to suck up your ass to much, although I will say I am so glad you've brought this back. No word of a lie, putting my love for the wrinkly old writer aside, this is going to be one of, if not THE only must read thread in the BTB section for awhile. There's only so much WWE 06-09 that a man can take, glad to have this back, you've really spiced up my life.
I'm not going to go overboard and comment on all the news, but things are definitely looking on the up. I think I may have previously stated this, but repetition is awesome, IF you debut Jeff Hardy, I stop reading.
Noble with another win on Oblivion FTW.
Fuck, you could have given us a prediction template...
EPW World Championship
Pain Chamber
Edge (c) v Kurt Angle v Sabu v Chris Jericho v AJ Styles v Brock Lesnar v Rhino v Rob Van Dam From your news I hear there's going to be a swerve, I believe this is correct and I'm thinking completely out of the box. Jericho to get the win, plz.
EPW Pacific Championship CM Punk (c) v Monty Brown He'll win, but he needs to turn heel.
EPW Tag Team Championships
LAX v Generation Next II Homicide & Hernndez (c) v Roderick Strong & Alex Shelly I love LAX
EPW Cruiserweight Championship
Fatal Fourway Austin Aries (c) v Kid Kash v Jamie Noble v Petey Williams Aries to retain, Noble can't be pinned, just so you know.
Flaming Branding Iron Match Samoa Joe v Terry Funk OBVIOUS!!!
One on One
Muhammad Hassan v Christian Cage I can feel it.
One on One Bryan Danielson v Mick Foley Gotta' feeling.
I really do love you for this. SERIOUSLY... Just stick around, fuck work. <3
Oh and BTW all the other created feds should just give up now. None can compare to this, IMO...
Re: Presenting: Paul Heyman's Evolution Pro Wrestling.
Hell to the yeah. So glad to see this back as this has always been one of my favorite threads here and I'm so glad to see it back. Towards your last run I kind of slipped out not reviewing much due to baseball and work but now I'm free for the next several months. I'll look into this PPV as soon as I finish Wolfy's WM review which I'm still working on. Regardless, I took a look and tried to catch up with what was happening before you left. Also, nice to see OVW addition and all the people you signed and Umaga coming in could be huge. Surely, the huge release isn't Kennedy as that'd be too easy to predict.
EPW World Championship
Pain Chamber
Edge (c) v Kurt Angle v Sabu v Chris Jericho v AJ Styles v Brock Lesnar v Rhino v Rob Van Dam
This is just a wild guess. Really not sure who walks out with it and this isn't really a "huge swerve" but I just have no idea who stands a good chance.
EPW Pacific Championship CM Punk (c) v Monty Brown
Hopefully this happens, don't care much for Brown.
EPW Tag Team Championships
LAX v Generation Next II Homicide & Hernndez (c) v Roderick Strong & Alex Shelly
I think LAX retains, not sure on this one either. As you can tell it's been a while lol!
EPW Cruiserweight Championship
Fatal Fourway
Austin Aries (c) v Kid Kash v Jamie Noble v Petey Williams
I'd like to see Noble win as since he came in it seems like you certainly like him but maybe that's me.
Flaming Branding Iron Match Samoa Joe v Terry Funk
Funk doesn't need this and the injury should confirm the loss for sure.
One on One
Muhammad Hassan v Christian Cage
I could see this being Hassan's big come out win but I'm gonna play it safe and pick Christian.
One on One Bryan Danielson v Mick Foley
In my opinion same thing goes for Danielson as it does for Samoa Joe, Foley doesn't need this unless it continues on in a stipulation match.

Re: Presenting: Paul Heyman's Evolution Pro Wrestling.
Absolutely delighted to see this back, PARA. You know I've always been a big fan of this baby. Shame about your venture with Reney falling through, but that's to be expected when you get two Fosters swillin' Aussies on the same team Enough of this xenophobia though, prediction time:
EPW World Championship
Pain Chamber
Edge (c) v Kurt Angle v Sabu v Chris Jericho v AJ Styles v Brock Lesnar v Rhino v Rob Van Dam
I'd like Angle|Edge to continue without the title, and I could see Jericho putting over AJ in the next few months. It's a stretch I know, since Edge is a heel too, but Y2J OWNS, so whatever.
EPW Pacific Championship CM Punk (c) v Monty Brown
EPW Tag Team Championships
LAX v Generation Next II
Homicide & Hernndez (c) v Roderick Strong & Alex Shelly
Because they both FUCKING OWN.
EPW Cruiserweight Championship
Fatal Fourway Austin Aries (c) v Kid Kash v Jamie Noble v Petey Williams
Flaming Branding Iron Match Samoa Joe v Terry Funk
