Re: Presenting: Paul Heyman's Evolution Pro Wrestling.
Really sorry about the lateness of this, PARA; you slipping under my radar, damn you
---
Big announcement from Paul E. with Forssken repercussions. @ The Sandman still being in contention for title matches, but no way does he get the win tonight anway. Especially looking forward to the Six-Man Tag, although see Generation Next finally get their title shot will be good also.
Great contest to kick off proceedings, and now I know why you admonished me for writing Petey off as a jobber a few weeks back. Should be a spectacular Fatal Four-Way bout at Forsaken. I was a little bit worried that you were ignoring Kash and Williams in the aftermath and setting up Noble/Aries some more, but Petey got him some of ol' Jamie so that everyone has a bit of heat now. Obviously Noble/Aries is the route you are going with this though. Really looking forward to the final announcement of Foley/Dragon to be honest. From this point on I don't think these two guys should be involved in any more matches, but simply in-ring promos, building up this epic encounter.
Kurt with his usual irate promo (I've never been more certain that Edge and Angle will be the final two guys in the Pain Chamber), but what really made me laugh in this segment was the way American Dragon and Foley just came charging psst them. I can't wait for more showdowns between these two.
Weird hearing Konnan actually 'supporting' Generation Next almost (can you remind me, are Gen X face or heel?), but it looks as though Heyman doesn't have many friends in EPW right now.
Ha ha, no real surprise that The Sandman was the proverbial lame duck in this contest. I don't think he did a thing. Crazy finish with Christian getting involved to further his angle with Hassan, but I don't think Monty has been pushed as a guy capable of taking the title from Punk for a long time now, so he'll probably just serve as fodder for The Punster for now. Big promo from CC in Toronto next week please. A confrontation with Hassan could be epic.
I guess Edge got sick of AJ Styles' boring, generic face routine eh? Great stuff from The Champ, though I feel a bit sorry for AJ, who probably won't last that long in The Chamber. If you ley him eliminate the biggest jobber in the match, Sabu, all should be right with the world.
Hassan/Cage os official. About time too.
Well, I guess Generation Next are faces then.
"BUT HE’S NOT EVEN WATCHING THE MATCH!!! HE’S STARING AT A FANS POSTER IN THE FRONT ROW WITH A PHOTO OF CM PUNK AND THE PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP!!!"
Dammit, push The Haas please. Shelton gets enough love. You basically just confirmed that Punk will be retaining over Monty though. Smart I hope Generation Next take the belts off LAX, simply because Shelly and Rod fuckin' OWN.
Ugh, this 'Branding Iron Match' concept - has it been done before? It sounds absolutely sick. Like something that just fell out of the mind of a certain WCW loving Nazi we both know? Pretty intense stuff from the most conflicted man in EPW right now. Any time Funk gets his Hardcore on is a clinic and a privelage for all to see, and with Samoa Joe across from him? Their match is going to be as physical as physical gets.
Awesome main event, Para; great to see you investing so much in this Edge/Angle story, with it absolutely dominating the match. The finish keeps Edge's strong run going, which increases my belief that Forsaken will be the night he finally drops the belt. I just hope you swerve us all and have one of the other 6 take it, setting up Angle/Edge as a Non-Title showdown. @ poor Rob Van Dam and Sabu. Judging from this poor outing, they have even less chance of winning the belt than AJ Styles. Speaking of AJ, why was he on the heel team and Sabu on the face team? Now I'm confused Surely it's t'other way around? Glad that Rhino took the fall though. Unlike Reney, I never have, nor will I ever be able to get into this guy. Ah well. More Y2J in Canada next week though Please. He, Edge, Christian and the other Canadians are going to have a field day.
Another solid installment, Para; I apologise once again about that wait because this thread continues to be the most stunningly innovative one on the market right now. Keep it up.
Re: Presenting: Paul Heyman's Evolution Pro Wrestling.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think I'm pretty much up to date in terms of getting back to my usual folk. If I haven't hit your latest show up, please let me know.
Just want to address a few comments from Legend and that's that. Next recap is done and should be up in the next few days or so.

Gen Next are face. It wasn't so much Konnan supporting them, more so bagging the fuck out of TWGTT coz they've beaten them so often.

Surprisingly no. He had nothing to do with it. I know he's an advocate of the idea though. I'm not sure if it's been done before. I think it might have been, but oh well. None the less, it'll be brutal

I'm gonna go "WWE-like" on this and pretend it never happened!!!!!! I'm very pissed at myself for making such an ordinary mistake.

Sabu's a face. AJ's a bit of a fence sitter, he was heel against Shelton at BOG.
Thanks for your comments mate, and everyone else. Much appreciated. Again, I intend to have the next recap done soon.
Re: Presenting: Paul Heyman's Evolution Pro Wrestling.
Next show lads. And Reney. Might be a bit scratchy, haven't double checked it. Feedback will be done for some folk tomorrow. Most notably Szumi's recent Nitro, will check my other regular threads to see where they're at too.
The show opens with Joey Styles and Kevin Nash putting over the fact that EPW are broadcasting outside America for the first time and then mentioning the huge Battle Royal in our Main Event which features all of the competitors in the Pain Chamber at Forsaken. They also touch on our tag team pitting Samoa Joe & Monty Brown against CM Punk and Terry Funk!
EPW’s first ever telecast outside the USA starts off with a bang when Canadian native, EPW’s own, Christian Cage’s music hits and the man himself comes out with his Captain Charisma jacket on, hood over his head and even the Canadian flag draped over his shoulders. Naturally the roof is blown off the joint when it is soon revealed that it is in fact NOT Christian Cage but... MUHAMMAD HASSAN! Hassan pulled the hood off at the top of the aisle, revealing his not-so-popular figure. Daivari soon pops out from behind the curtain with a Canadian jacket on, opposed to his regular suit jacked as well as having position of a couple of small Canadian novelty flags. Hassan makes his way down the aisle to deafening heat, doing all of Christian’s trademark taunts, slapping his chest etc. Soaking up the heat from the Toronto fans while Daivari just waves his little flags around enthusiastically, Hassan steps into the ring and retrieves a microphone before getting a handful of the Canadian flag in each hand and holding it up to the fans, again, generating a hell of a lot of heat. After eating up the crowds taunts for well over 30 seconds, Hassan drapes the flag over his shoulders again before finally beginning to speak... or is that, SING?! Hassan begins singing the Canadian National Anthem!! “OOOOOOOH CANADA!!!! Our home and native land!! True patriot love in all thy sons command...” The anthem continues on, Hassan in full voice when Daivari pulls a cigarette lighter out of his pocket and begins waving it in the air. As Hassan gets into the second last line of the anthem, Daivari then pulls an aerosol can out of his Canadian jacket as well! Still singing, Hassan uses his free hand to pull the flag off his back and hold it up for Daivari as he sprays it with the aerosol can, before LIGHTING THE CANADIAN FLAG ON FIRE!!!! The fans absolutely erupt as Hassan finishes his anthem with another round of “OOOOOOOOOOH CANADA!!” whilst holding the flag in his hand, watching it burn.
A second or two after the flag completely burns to a pulp, Christian Cage’s music then hits again, this time to an absolutely deafening ovation as the man himself comes sprinting out to the ring this time! Daivari and Hassan seem to make an agreement in the ring to stand tall and take Cage on but just when Captain Charisma slides in, Hassan bails out of the ring and leaves Daivari to endure a beating from Christian. Cage nails Daivari with three big right hands to a massive pop before going to whip him off the ropes but as soon as he does, he gets clubbed over the back by a big right hand from Hassan! Christian turns to face his rival but Hassan is a step ahead and sprays him in the eyes with the same aerosol can he used to light up the flag! Christian staggers backwards, his head in his hands in pain until Hassan makes another move, this time nailing THE FINISHING TOUCH! Cage drops in a heap as Hassan stands tall over his fallen body with his arms spread wide and Daivari stands next to him, pointing at him, playing him up to the crowd who refuse to stop dumping an unbelievable amount of heat on him as we go to a commercial.

Match 1 Tag Team Match Kid Kash & Jamie Noble v Petey Williams & Cruiserweight Champion, Austin Aries
As expected, Petey Williams was the crowd favourite throughout this match, getting a huge pop from the fans along with numerous chants of “PETEY... PETEY”. The four Cruiserweights lit up the ring with several scintillating moves with Williams and Kid Kash currently occupying the ring. Williams takes control of Kash with three consecutive arm drags, Kash gets to his feet after the third and again charges towards him but this time Williams catches him with a drop toe hold, bringing him down to the mat face first with a thud. Wasting no time Williams pounces, attempting to lock in THE SHARPSHOOTER! The fans explode in support as Petey battles to get the move locked in but Kash refuses to relent, making a nuisance of himself but eventually Williams LOCKS IT IN! SHARPSHOOTER APPLIED! It’s short lived through as Jamie Noble quickly storms the ring and attempts a clothesline but Williams ducks under it as Austin Aries promptly charges the ring coming to Williams’ aid but he’s thwarted by Jamie Noble who wasted no time in directing his attention towards him, bringing him down with a double leg take down before bringing him straight up and nailing a TIGER DRIVER!!! The focus on Noble is short lived though as PETEY WILLIAMS NAILS KID KASH WITH THE CANADIAN DESTROYER TO A HUGE OVATION!!! Just when he goes to make the cover though, he’s rushed by Jamie Noble who picks him up by the hair and then nails the DOUBLE KNEE GUTBUSTER!!! Three of the four competitors in the match are down and out as the referee instructs Noble to get out of the ring but his exile from the match doesn’t last long as he manages to reach out as far as he can and get the tag from Kash who was doing the same. Noble charges the ring quickly and goes straight towards Williams and hoists him up again, nailing him with a SECOND DOUBLE KNEE GUTBUSTER!!! Noble makes the cover – 1... 2... 3! It’s over, Aries made a last ditch attempt to break the count but it was just too late.
Winners: Kid Kash and Jamie Noble @ 7:34
For the second week in a row, Noble gets a microphone after the match and brags of his dominance. He makes particular point of mentioning that if Williams even attempts to do what he did to him last week ever again, then the consequences will be much worse for him then they were tonight. He then addresses Austin Aries, telling him to take note of what Petey Williams just endured because that’s what’s in store for him at Forsaken.
The camera then panned backstage to find the Pacific Champion, CM Punk standing by with Christy Hemme. Punk got a huge ovation from the fans before he was questioned on his thoughts going into his tag team match tonight where he teams with Terry Funk to take on Samoa Joe and Monty Brown. Punk says that tonight is his first match since Blaze of Glory, that’s a whole month without wrestling a single match and he goes on saying that tonight he gets the even greater honour of teaming with the legendary Terry Funk, a man who he has looked up to his whole life. He says there is nothing that Monty Brown or Samoa Joe can do tonight that will ruin this night for him because he guarantees that tonight “The Punk and Funk Connection” will be walking out winners.
Commercial
When we return from commercial we head into Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas’ dressing room. We see them talking quietly to each other when we overhear Charlie say to Shelton that they need to put last week behind them and focus on the job at hand tonight. He says tonight they have a chance to go “one up” on both the Tag Team Champions and the Number 1 Contenders and they need to take it. He says they need to pull together and get the job done as a team. Shelton nods in agreement as the camera heads back out to the arena for the entrances of the next match.
Match 2 6 Man Tag Team Match CM Punk & Terry Funk v Monty Brown & Samoa Joe
Funk’s grand in-ring debut for EPW didn’t really go as planned with both Joe and Monty managing to get him stuck in their corner with plenty of quick tags. Funk refused to give in though, enduring all sorts of power moves from the muscle bound duo including a POUNCE from Brown. Luckily for Funk, Punk managed to break the count at 2 on this occasion. Eventually the frustration became too much for Samoa Joe as he begun clubbing away at Funk in a corner, refusing to adhere to the 5 count of the referee, drawing the DQ!
Winners via DQ: CM Punk & Terry Funk @ 7:30
The fans boo the shitty ending to the match as it literally came from no where while Samoa Joe attempts to get Funk up for the Muscle Buster but Punk puts a stop to that, taking Joe down from behind with a low drop kick before attempting to lift him up for the GTS! The fans pop for Punk but it soon turns to heat again as he’s cracked over the back by a rocking chair shot from Monty Brown! Brown and Joe make a quick exit up the ramp to huge heat while Punk and Funk remain down and out in the ring.
We then head backstage to find Rob Van Dam staring into a camera. He spoke about the fact that last week he kinda flew under the radar and went unnoticed (because the bloke booking the show is a retard and completely forgot about him)during the 8 man tag match. He says that okay, because that’s the kinda dude he is, he likes to give other people the chance to shine too, but tonight, it’s all gonna change. He says heading into Forsaken, he’s all business, he’s all about RVD. He says tonight in the Battle Royal he’s going out there to make an impact and to show the World that the next EPW World Champion will be ROB... VAN... DAM (complete with thumb taunts).
We then cut backstage to another location where we find the EPW World Tag Team Champions, Homicide and Hernandez along with Konnan walking towards the ring with their belts draped over their shoulders ready for their match next.
Commercial
Match 3 8 Man Tag Team Match The EPW World Tag Team Champions – Homicide & Hernandez and Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas v Roderick Strong, Alex Shelly, Devon & Bubba-Ray Dudley
In a solid match that showcases two unlikely teams, the team of Strong, Shelly, Devon and Bubba works much better than their opponents. They manage to isolate Charlie Haas, who along with Shelton Benjamin appear to be refusing to tag in either Homicide or Hernandez when they get the chance. Haas manages to fight out of his predicament, nailing Bubba-Ray with a German Suplex after he ducked under a wayward clothesline. Even though it would’ve been easier for him to tag in Hernandez or Homicide, Haas goes out of his way to travel the extra distance and tag in Shelton Benjamin instead as Bubba Ray then manages to tag in Roderick Strong, who gets a nice pop from the fans! Strong and Shelton come face to face but it’s short lived when Shelton gets clubbed over the back of the head by... HERNANDEZ?! Shelton drops in a heap as Strong just stares blankly until Homicide NAILS HAAS WITH THE GRINGO KILLA!!?! The fans and commentators alike are confused out of their wits by the actions of the Tag Team Champions, but they were obviously frustrated with both Haas and Shelton. Homicide and Hernandez look to leave the ring immediately after but Strong rushes up behind them to apparently question what the hell is going on... BUT HOMICIDE DROPS HIM WITH THE GRINGO CUTTER!!! Alex Shelly comes to his partners aid, only to be sent flying out of the ring courtesy of a big back body drop by Hernandez! Amidst all this, Shelton Benjamin crawls over towards the downed Roddy Strong and goes for the cover... 1... 2... NO! Bubba breaks the count! Hernandez doesn’t like what he’s just seen from Shelton though and promptly pulls him up to his feet before drilling him with the BORDER TOSS! He then throws the lifeless body of Roderick Strong on top of him to get the win?! 1... 2... 3!
Generation’s Next’s music plays but there is absolutely no celebrating by anyone, both members of Gen. Next still down, The Dudleyz standing in the ring with no idea just what the hell happened, The Worlds Greatest Tag Team down and out as well and LAX exiting up the aisle, Homicide and Hernandez both still clearly pissed off, while Konnan has a huge grin on his face and just points at his head as if his dawgz have just got “one up” on their opponents come Forsaken whilst amidst all this our commentators simply quesiton what the hell is running through the heads of Homicide and Hernandez.
We then head backstage to find Mick Foley having an innocent conversation with Maria. We are unable to catch much of the conversation but it seems to be something about how good Maria looks this evening or some crap. (Yeah right Mick, we know she’s hot, but you’re not, your old, married and have no chance. Keep it in your pants.) Anyway, the conversation continues momentarily when suddenly Bryan Danielson comes flying into shot and nails Foley with a vicious ROARING ELBOW! Mick drops straight to the floor as Maria attempts to stop Danielson but he just pushes her away to the floor before diving on to Mick Foley and swinging away wildly with some livid lefts and rights before he locks in a CROSSFACE CHICKENWING!!! Foley screams in agony while The American Dragon roars with intensity until some referees and officials, including Paul Heyman, enter the scene to break Danielson away from Foley. As soon as he does so, Heyman confronts Danielson and says “I’m sick of all the bullshit between you two! At Forsaken, it’s gonna be Bryan Danielson versus Mick Foley and the two of you are gonna sort this crap out once and for all!” Naturally this draws a huge ovation from the crowd as we go to commercial once more.
Commercial
We return from Commercial to find Edge standing backstage with the EPW Championship draped over his shoulder. Edge gets a huge pop from the Canadian fans, until he starts ripping on his country, generating massive heat. He told them that Muhammad Hassan did us all a favour earlier tonight burning the flag. Edge goes on to hype the Pain Chamber match at Forsaken, saying it won’t matter if he enters that match first or last, he’ll be walking out with his title around his waist as the winner. He then continues saying that the same goes for tonight’s over the top rope Battle Royal! He says he doesn’t where he’s entering but it don’t mean “jack shit” because he’ll win the match and there isn’t a damn thing Chris Jericho, AJ Styles, Sabu, Rob Van Dam, Rhino, Brock Lesnar and especially not “Kurt friggin’ Angle” can do about it!
Match 4( NOTE - THE RECAP FOR THIS IS GOING TO BE MORE OF A HIGHLIGHT PACKAGE, RATHER THAN THE LAST COUPLE OF MINUTES AS I USUALLY DO FOR MAIN EVENTS. IT’S PRETTY ORDINARY FOR MINE, BUT IT’S ALL ABOUT ADVANCING THE STORYLINE HEADING INTO THE PAY PER VIEW!) Main Event Over the top rope Battle Royal; new competitor enters every 30 seconds; LAST ELIMINATION IS PINFALL/SUBMISSION EPW World Champion, Edge v Kurt Angle v AJ Styles v Chris Jericho v Rob Van Dam v Sabu v Brock Lesnar v Rhino
The first entrant was none other than the ever popular ROB VAN DAM! And to start off with his opponent was a very, very shocked and pissed off... EDGE! The two traded blows for the first initial 30 seconds while the commentators put over just how chaotic this could become very quickly. The long time rivals battle back and forth unable to exchange anything other than fists due to the overwhelming level of anger flowing throughout Edge’s veins. At the end of the first 30 seconds, the familiar tune of KURT ANGLE blasts through the arena and it’s like Edge has been shot by a stun gun! As soon as Kurt’s music started the champion stopped his assault on Van Dam and completely froze! Angle charges the ring where Edge is there waiting and the champion doesn’t even let him get to his feet, laying into his rival with a series of boots before dropping down and beginning to hammer away with right hand after right hand, refusing to let The Olympic Medalist up to his feet! AJ Styles is next out and he and RVD immediately pair off since they’ve really got no choice since Angle and Edge are already occupied. A further 30 seconds passes with nothing much of note going down, Edge and Angle end up closer to the ropes with Edge trying to work Angle over the top when the count is up again and BROCK LESNAR enters the ring to immense heat and starts going after RVD and AJ Styles, again leaving Edge and Angle to sort out their shit. Lesnar hammers away at AJ and RVD erratically as the exciting duo have no choice but to team up to take out Lesnar. SABU is next into the ring, again with a solid ovation! Chair in hand, Sabu slides in and immediately comes to the aid of RVD and Styles, throwing his trusty weapon into the back of the head of Brock Lesnar, dropping him to the canvas. With Lesnar down, Van Dam ceases the opportunity and dashes up behind Edge and Angle, unbeknownst to both of them, and ELIMINATES THEM BOTH!!!!
Edge and Kurt Angle are eliminated by Rob Van Dam @ 2:21
The fans react indifferently, but mostly cheer Van Dam on as he looks down at both Angle and Edge before doing his trademark thumb taunt towards them and Kurt Angle immediately looks to go after Edge but some referees and security are quickly on the scene to get rid of him from ringside as another 30 seconds has passed and CHRIS JERICHO enters the match to a huge pop for the Canadian native! Jericho charges towards the corner that already contains Lesnar, Styles and Sabu and immediately goes towards assisting AJ and Sabu in eliminating Brock Lesnar! The three manage to get the monster up against the ropes but are unable to manipulate him over the top rope. RVD joins the fray to help but Lesnar still holds on! We are greeted by the arrival of our last entrant – RHINO, who gets a big ovation from the fans, charges the ring and adds enough strength to throw Brock Lesnar over the top rope!
Brock Lesnar is eliminated by EVERYONE @ 3:10
The remaining participants all celebrate until AJ Styles suddenly nails a PELE KICK TO SABU SENDING HIM FLYING OVER THE TOP ROPE LITERALLY SECONDS AFTER LESNAR!
Sabu is eliminated by AJ Styles @ 3:16
The fans react indifferently towards AJ, and Rob Van Dam in particular doesn’t seem overly impressed with what’s happened, going after him with three hard right hands before throwing him off the ropes, AJ bounces back and drops down, sliding between RVD’s legs but as Van Dam turns back to meet Styles, he turns into a SPEAR FROM EDGE WHO THEN PICKS HIM STRAIGHT UP AND THROWS HIM OVER THE TOP ROPE!!!!
Rob Van Dam is eliminated illegally by Edge @ 4:42
The fans dump a fuckload of heat on Edge, as he mocks RVD's thumb taunt in the ring as Van Dam himself slowly gets to his feet and then grabs the EPW Champion by the foot and drags him to the outside! The duo begin to brawl up the aisle as the action then focuses back on the ring.
And then there were three! Rhino, Jericho and AJ Styles remained together in the ring trading blows for over three minutes until Rhino was eliminated courtesy of a springboard dropkick from Chris Jericho, sending him plummeting to the floor!
Rhino is eliminated by Chris Jericho @ 7:34
Jericho and AJ remain and the duo light up the ring for several minutes until Jericho manages to lock AJ up in the Walls of Jericho! Styles fights hard and manages to eventually make the ropes before slowly scrambling up to his feet but Jericho acts fast and goes for the Codebreaker! But Styles uses a last ditch effort to push him off before he nails a standing Moonsault! The fans lift in support of AJ as he brings Jericho up to his feet before bouncing off the rope and nailing a running swinging neckbreaker! Wasting no time, he gets a clutch of Jericho’s hair, brings him to his feet before planting him face first with the STYLES CLASH!!! 1... 2... 3!!!
CHRIS JERICHO IS ELIMINATED BY AJ STYLES @ 10:01
The fans pop huge for Styles as he picks up a MASSIVE victory heading into Forsaken as AJ looks a little stunned in celebration as the commentators put over how AJ has now developed some momentum as we head into the Forsaken.
The camera then heads backstage where we find RVD and Edge still beating the hell out of eachother, Van Dam with the upper hand, using all sorts of apparatus to inflict pain on Edge. Trash Can (Garbage can ffs) lids, Kendo Sticks, Tables etc. The commentators put over the fact that Edge just keeps creating enemies for himself and that he better hope that Kurt Angle isn't lurking around backstage to add further to his misery.
The camera focuses back on AJ Styles and Joey Styles once again reminds us of the enormity of The Phenomal One's victory (clearly trying to not let it be over shadowed by what's going on backstage) as the show fades to black with AJ atop the aisle, celebrating amidst a big chant of “AJ... AJ... AJ”.

Online Oblivion Results
Matt Sydal debuted and defeated Shannon Moore @ 10:34.
Sydal got a big ovation as most of the smark Canadian fans knew who he was. After an entertaining match with Moore, he got the win courtesy of the Shooting Star Press.
Highlights of the Battle Royal from Enslaved are shown, focusing mainly on Rob Van Dam's elimination of both Edge and Kurt Angle at once. Edge's illegal elimination of Van Dam and AJ's surprise victory in the end.
Juventud Guerrera & Psicosis def. Colt Cabana & Ace Steel @ 12:04
Once again, in an entertaining match these two teams lit up the ring as we also were treated to Ace Steel's first appearance in EPW. Juventud eventually picked up the win though after Psicosis kicked Ace in the balls when the referee had his back turned on the action, allowing Juvi to hit the Juvi Driver and then follow up with the 450 Splash.
To end Online Oblivion, Rob Van Dam cut a promo centred around what happened in the Battle Royal. He addresses Edge saying that he now has a personal problem with him... again. And for that, he's going to suffer the consequences. He closes in saying he is walking out of Forsaken as the EPW World Champion.
Re: Presenting: Paul Heyman's Evolution Pro Wrestling.
-May I just say that opening was beautiful. Those Canadians were showed to be the dumb Canuckers we know them to be. Hassan not cutting a promo, but just singing was excellent, and the flag had to be burned, but I love how it didn’t just happen… only after Daivari raises and rocks the lighter. Even the beat down was done well. Hassan bails, and then comes back in to kill Christian. Wonderful. Words cannot describe the beauty of this segment, and how you booked it.
-Beautifully written match, excellent work rate, but pooey finish. 2nd consecutive segment in which the Canadian gets utterly destroyed in Canada. I disagree sir. Noble needs the heat and credibility, but it could’ve been done other ways.
-I hope you plan on turning Punk heel eventually; he’s coming off bland as a face right now. Maybe it’s just because I’m still getting back into this thread and it’s a recap, or maybe I’m just right. I don’t know, I shall determine my conclusion in the future
-The WGTT broke up so long ago IRL, or least it’s been so long since they were credible, it’s hard to get behind them here. Make me love them, Para, make me.
-Underrated finish here. The DQ finish like this is good. Funk shows his resiliency – which is all he has at this point – and Joe’s frustration to go along with his dominance. You have to know Funk is just fodder for Joe though. Now here is an underrated chap, Monty Brown. I wouldn’t mind seeing Monty wreck Punk at Forsaken, tbh. He has so much raw potential to be great.
-Nice to see RVD get some simple tv time, although he’s got not chance on winning your Pain Chamber. I wish he would, but not happening.
-Alex Shelley, not Shelly, jobber. Ouch, way to make WGTT look like bitches. Gen Next did too, tbh. LAX kills them all, and the Dudley’s are just there. LAX get a lot of pushes in BTBs I read, so I would for you to go old school and give 3D some love.
-I could see Mick bagging Maria… you’re just jealous <3. Nice random beat down, beautifully placed and executed. A match at Forsaken!? No way! WHO COULD’VE SAW THAT COMING~!
-Excellent to see Edge, the Champ, and Angle, the front runner, eliminated so early. I can see many criticizing this, but fuck them, brilliant. You give everyone else time to shine and prove themselves. RVD being eliminated by Edge and Rhino being eliminated without dominating = disappointing. PUSH RHINO DAMNIT! Surprised to see AJ win this to be honest, as he has no chance of winning the Title. He’s not been established enough at all.
-Overall, a solid recap, and honestly, people cream themselves so much over Legend and Mac’s work because they’re WWE BTBs, but this is one of the best booked BTBs in the zone, and the writing is top notch, with the only flaw being the promos at times. To me, the fact that this isn’t a WWE BTB and you have to put more effort to establish your guys and fed, this is thee best BTB here (apart from mine ). No bullshit.

Re: Presenting: Paul Heyman's Evolution Pro Wrestling.
Cheap heat for Hassan and Daivari, but it looks like a sight to behold. Lighting the country's flag on fire can get you some heat, and also coming out to one of their home-grown boys can get you heat, and then beating that same person down when he comes out gives you even more heat. Easy way to get this feud over, tbh. Clever, though.
So far the Canadians are two for two in getting beatdown and looking bad in their appearances. That doesn't bode to well for Edge. Kash and Noble going over is good because Noble, well he OWNS and they needed a win more then Aries and Williams did to get them over before the PPV.
Punk and Funk Connection is really corny. No really corny. The Rock and Mick Foley called, they want their tag-team name back . Don't see anything but the heels going over here. Funk is just food for Joe anyways. The only way Funk and Punk go over is if you're actually going to try and build up Funk for the PPV, which is reasonable. I just don't see who he would pin.
Benji and Haas just need to be split up already. Benji can really shine as a singles star and Haas has the ability also if pushed well. They'll lose, split up, and feud. Do it now plz.
DQ seemed to be the only way to go here, tbh. Should've thought about it, but silly me. Punk and Funk get the win, but Funk is just getting embarassed here and at the PPV, tbh. Although Punk should retain.
RVD needs to put himself over in the little amount of air-time that he gets. No chance though. Just have Angle go with the title plz.
Shelley, not Shelly. At least Haas and Benjamin were trying to wrestle together, too bad they forgot about their partners. No harm here. Just helps get heat for LAX and Haas and Benjamin can finally split.
Finally an announcement from Heyman. Been waiting two weeks for it, and just now he realizes they've been beating the crap out of each other and screwing each other over? Jesus.
Styles going over is huge, as he needed some momentum going into the Pain Chamber. The way I see it, only 4 guys have a chance of winning it. Edge, Angle, Lesnar and now RVD after what happened to end the show. Sabu's nothing but a jobber, Jericho, while I like him, hasn't gotten even close to enough buildup, same for Rhino. AJ did get a big win, but that's just to make him look credible going into the PPV. Either way, sounds like a good match and a good Main Event.
Overall: Another successful show, Para. Can't wait for the PPV and for you to finally go back to full shows full time. A liked it a lot more then last week, and Forsaken is looking pretty epic. 8/10
Re: Presenting: Paul Heyman's Evolution Pro Wrestling.
The "CRUNK IN YO SYSTEM" Review:
~ The opening segment was great. It was the ultimate heel actions from Hasaan and Daivari; lighting a country's flag on fire and beating down a popular face from that country. Great stuff here. I'm kinda split on the fact that Hasaan didn't really deliver a promo. On one hand, he didn't really need to, but it still would have been nice to see him running down Christian or giving some explanation to the Canadian crowd as to why he's burning their flag (other than the fact that he's feuding with a Canadian).
~ Good Cruiser tag, and great win for Noble. It's good to see Noble backing up all his talk about deserving an X-Division title shot. At first I didn't really like Petey jobbing, but the after match promo from Noble about evening the score from last week changed my mind. All the momentum is with Noble going into the Cruiser title match, so let's see if he can capitalize.
~ Punk seemed very generic in his promo. I really hope his character gets some sort of boost ion the near future. The "Punk and Funk Connection" have thier work cut out for them tonight, but it should be a good match heading into the PPV.
~ I didn't really see any way around the DQ finish, so no complaints about that. Good way to give the heels some momentum heading into the PPV. Funk looked like a champion, taking all Joe and Brown had to offer, and Joe looked like a monster for losing his control and continuing the beatdown on Funk.
~ Short, simple RVD promo. No complaints here.
~ I liked tha action going on in the tag team match. LAX looked great in pretty much owning the WGTT and Gen Next, and as the champions they should look great. Team 3D just seemed there, but hey, their team got the win and they had no beef with LAX, so why interfere? Good stuff there.
~ Whoa. What was up with the totally random beatdown? I know these two had been feuding, but geez. Perhaps if Foley had cracked a joke about Danielson to Maria, or if he had been cutting a promo running Danielson down I could see it better, but this just seemed kinda off the wall. I'm glad the match is finally announced though.
~ Excellent main event. I actually liked the two most likely choices to win being eliminated first. I mean, they both already have plenty of momentum heading in, so neither really lost anything here. Everyone working together on Brock made him look strong as well. I did not see the AJ win coming at all, but props for doing something unpredictacble. I don't think he has much of a chance to win the match, but at least he has some momentum on his side going in.

Enslaved Feedback
Oh Canada!~ I expect a big one, you better not disappoint
Hassan and Daivari burning the flag, is a good move even though its been done before it is received as some what of a shock and would have got them an unearthly amount of heat. When CC made his way to the ring I thought Daivari and Hassan were both going to get OWNED, but you through in a nice little swerve with Hassan getting out of the ring and coming from behind. This whole promo was really nice, I can just LOL trying to picture the two idiots singing the national anthem.
Noble/Kash are the perfect tandem and I really can’t see Noble losing until after Forsaken. He has just been way to dominate for it to be all be a waist, or at least that’s what I am hoping.
LOL at Punk in this thread at the moment, he is probably the only thing in the thread, He just seems so bland at the moment as I have mentioned in previous weeks. I believe you need to spice up his character a bit some how. THE PUNK AND FUNK CONNECTION… I like it
I simply love the WGTT so hopefully they do well tonight and make a massive impact on the tag scene as I don’t believe they have done anything really BIG in this thread… Well since I have been reading anyway.

Match 2 6 Man Tag Team Match
CM Punk & Terry Funk v Monty Brown & Samoa Joe
That's funny i could have sworn their were only for people in the match I am under the belief that Funk is around just for the PPV right? If so I personally would have preferred for him to only be on the PPV and not competing earlier, a one off appearance kind of makes it feel more special. I personally wasn’t happy with the shitty ending but it all lead to Monty Brown getting some heat on Punk so all good I guess.

(because the bloke booking the show is a retard and completely forgot about him)
At least your honest true? Hopefully RVD makes an impact tonight kind of stating his claim for the title because I love him.
LAX… Kind of OWN
This match seemed like a story between LAX and WGTT more then anything. WGTT wanted to make an impact and I was hoping they would but they hogged the in ring action so LAX took them out. Why did LAX leave The Dudley Boyz standing though would have been more impressive if they took them all out.

(Yeah right Mick, we know she’s hot, but you’re not, your old, married and have no chance. Keep it in your pants.)
I love your little comments like this through the show, very humorous. Pretty much just a generic beat down by Danielson to get himself more heat against Foley. Their match is finally announced for Forsaken and I really hope you put over Danielson. Young guys > Foley is the way to go
Edge equals hype for the main event for tonight and Forsaken, not much to really comment on.
I don’t care what you say, the recap may not be the best but it was still a very fun match to read. Edge and Angle getting eliminated so early was a shock but I guess you want to give the other guys such as RVD time to shine. Lesnar is a monster it took four men to get him over the top rope and well my pick is not winning now. Styles just too good, Sabu should have been more aware, rookie mistake LOL. Edge stuffs up RVD who was the next guy I thought would win and you have pulled a shocker for this one. Rhyno eliminated by Jericho equals good and I can’t wait to see who wins. HOLY SHIT AJ STYLES ACTUALLY WON. Honestly PARA great way to get the guys in the match besides Edge and Angle noticed. Good work.
Overall you know my thoughts on this thread and this was another very good show. I honestly don’t know what you were worried about, I really, REALLY enjoyed reading this. It was brilliant and with another show down the PPV gets closer. Keep it up
Re: Presenting: Paul Heyman's Evolution Pro Wrestling.
Oh yeah, few posts above? Fuck off, you Nazi scum
---
Sick way to open up the show with Hassan doing that ol' heel trick of impersonating his rival. It usually works quite well when people do it with The Undertaker, but this was a nice twist, doing it in said superstars hometown to get even more heat on a upper mid-carder. I'm struggling to imagine what it would be like to hear Muhammad Hassan sing, let alone sing the Canadian national anthem, but I'm fairly sure that would be worth the admission fee alone. The burning of the flag? Too much? Hell no. Darker stuff in BTB always pleases me, and Hassan is really the king of such things without a doubt. Glad you went the other way with the Christian run-in too, as usually one would simply have the hometown hero babyface charge down to the ring, clear it of heels, and get a rousing ovation as a result. You are clearly investing a lot in Hassan, and I commend your effort.
Ah, a PitBulls reunion to kick off the action? I'd like that to be alluded to at least during their PPV match. You don't neccessarily have to mention the company they were teamed together in, or even their team name, but just that they know each other so well, like brothers, best friends etc. It adds an extra dimension to a feud that has so far just been centred around Austin Aries and Jamie Noble. Which is understandable considering that is the one-on-one feud you will be running with following Forsaken, but it does nothing for the credibility of either Williams or Kash. Another big run doe ol' Jamie Noble tonight by pinning the Canadian native, as well as getting some more time to shine on the mic. More than likely, Noble will dominate the match at Forsaken before Aries pins one of the other two to escape with the belt, leading to their inevitable rematch at the next PPV, and hopefully at other PPVs too.
I have to say, I'm really not at all keen on Terry Funk being in a tag team match with the Pacific Champion tonight. For me, it takes away that 'special' feeling that I was having about Funk's match with Joe at Forsaken. It felt like a 'One Night Only' type deal, something for the ages, a legend versus the future; but now it just looks like your every day, run of the mill gimmick match between two rivals at a PPV, putting it on the same level as what is (effectively) the Intercontinental Title. If Edge and Mick Foley had done the same thing with Shelton Benjamin and Ric Flair in the lead up to WrestleMania XXII would the match have felt as special? No, it wouldn't. I just hope you don't go the same route with Danielson/Foley and scar that thus far untainted feud too. Oh, and Monty to pin Punk tonight.
Well I have no idea what The Haas is talking about since I don't know what match he and Shelton are involved in later, but odds are a split is most definitely on the horizon for these two (), what with them being out of the tag team title picture and Benji now obsessing over Punk and the Pacific Championship. I just hope Haas doesn't get lost in the mix like he seems to in almost every thread I read.
"Match 2
6 Man Tag Team Match
CM Punk & Terry Funk v Monty Brown & Samoa Joe"
That's one weird looking six man tag, Para. Anyway, you did nothing to relieve my annoyance from earlier on with this match. Yes, it was kept short, but I just wish you had at least kept Funk as the one on the apron for the entirety rather than have him getting beaten down in the corner for all 7 minutes. Now the specialness of a Terry Funk return at Forsaken and even on a weekly show has been lost, which is a crying shame when it comes to one of the biggest legends in this industry. This feud with Joe has lost its spark now for me, but at least Brown/Punk is moving in the right direction thanks to that closing chair shot. It's not the biggest feud on the roster, it's a mid-card one at best, but just little subtleties like that keep the limelight well and truly on it.
It's okay, Para, we all make stupid mistakes like you did last week from time-to-time. The only problem with that little error is that I worry now that you might have given away RVD's complete lack of chance in the Pain Chamber. However, from your sly little comment to me when I boastfully predicted Edge and Angle as the final two entrants, I won't count my chickens just yet.
Ah, I see, so this is what Haas was referring two earlier. Indeed, these two teams are very strange combinations. The only alignments I really know are LAX (heel) and Generation Next (face) because you told me. When it comes to Haas & Benjamin and The Dudleyz, I'm at a bit of a loss. Talk about adding an original, unique twist to a tag team feud that was, up until this point, going the way of the generic Dodo. I really like what you did with LAX here; first it looked as though they were maybe just pissed off at Haas & Benjamin and wanted to send a message to Gen.Next, but now with the assault on Strong & Shelly too, and allowing them to win the match, it seems that Konnan & Co. are starting the mind games with their rivals. It will be interesting to see where you go with this angle.
I'm tempted to say that you did yourself proud with this segment, as it completely flies in the face of the travesty that were the earlier shenanigans of Samoa Joe and Terry Funk, but it was let down a little by the start. If only you hadn't had Mick Foley, a man who thus far in this feud has been an absolute psychopath on a mission for respect, chatting up Maria That was as bad as it gets, Para. Very bad. If only he'd been walking through the parking lot or something, the aftermath with the assault from Dragon and the subsequent match announcement would've made this absolutely perfect. I know I'm nit-picking, mate, but when it comes to how good I know you can be, I'm a perfectionist.
Hmmm, I think it would've been okay for Edge to lay off the heelish ways for one night at least, since it wouldn't damage his image with the U.S fans in the slightest (we all know how racist those bigots are ). Still, I can't help but notice the allusion to Kurt Angle at the end, and I'm really starting to believe that not only will be having Edge drop the belt at Forsaken, but that Angle won't be the one winning it. I see those two going off in their own private war, while one of the other six gets a spell with the belt. Hopefully it's Jericho.
Another unique twist in the main event that adds even more to my belief that Edge and Angle are going beyond the World Title. Taking them out of the running so early was nice, as it gives the other six (somewhat underused) men time to shine. Not really sure what to make of Edge coming back in to eliminate Van Dam. It looks like the type of thing one would do if a feud was brewing between the two, but we know that's not the case now don't we? VERY surprising choice of superstar to win the whole match, but it certainly does what you set out to do, and that's make AJ Styles, a man who before tonight was looking a bit mid-carderish for my liking, look a million bucks. He fits the main eventer bill now well and truly. Surprised I'm not more bothered by Y2J taking the pin, but he's actually the most likely choice of the six to win the title at Forsaken now that I'm almost certain of Angle and Edge's departure from the title scene. And what a great day that will be too.
Another solid recap, Para. I apologise for my constant digressing on the Joe/Funk business, but you know what it's like. Really impressed with your efforts to build the other six men in the Pain Chamber; it will pay off for you in the long run, mate, don't you worry about that.
Re: Presenting: Paul Heyman's Evolution Pro Wrestling.
Little bit of news. Read plz
The Following is from PWInsider:
Quote:
Online Oblivion a Success!
EPW’s Online Oblivion is proving to be a raging success. Due to its constant hype on episodes of Enslaved, it is encouraging viewers to log on to the official EPW website and watch the show. EPW Officials have been doing comparisons with how WWE’s former online cast shows, Heat and Velocity rated and it does much better than those. The most pleasing aspect overall of the show for officials is said to be the fact that it is showcasing the mid and lower card talent in quality 10+ matches and showing fans just how good they really are. The fact that so many people are logging on to view Online Oblivion is a sure thing that it’s not about to halt production any time soon.
Matt Sydal signs with EPW!!
Those of you who watched Online Oblivion this week would know that we saw the first appearances on EPW Programming for Matt Sydal and Ace Steel. After a very, very impressive performance, EPW have offered Matt Sydal a contract. Paul Heyman was so impressed with Sydal and his interaction with the fans that he even changed the result of the match mid-match. Sydal’s opponent, Shannon Moore was initially intended to go over but Heyman changed his mind and gave the okay to the referee via his ear piece to inform Matt Sydal that he was now taking the win.
Ace Steel wasn’t so fortunate, as he’s yet to be offered a contract by EPW.
Enslaved TV deal set to expire.
After Forsaken, EPW’s TV deal with the CW Network for Enslaved. It’s believed that officials will be negotiating for a much better deal given the popularity of Enslaved as the highest rated show on Wednesday nights. It’s rumoured that Paul Heyman wants to explore the idea of the show going two hours but at this stage that is unconfirmed.
Big Swerve at Forsaken??
At this stage rumour has it that a big swerve is planned for Forsaken and possibly in the Pain Chamber. As of this moment, Edge is expected to retain the title but officials are pushing hard for Kurt Angle to go over while there are others who are pushing for a surprise victory which is why AJ Styles went over in the Battle Royal on Enslaved to give the impression that it could indeed happen.
Officials have big hope for Forsaken.
EPW officials have big anticipations for Forsaken to do very well with PPV Buy Rates as well as being a top notch show. The overall quality of the Wrestling on the show in a couple of matches is not expected to be that great with Heyman believing that Joe will not be able to get a brilliant match out of Terry Funk and the same is felt for the Foley/Danielson match. Expect the Tag Team Titles and the Cruiserweight Title matches to get some good time and put on top quality Wrestling matches. The emphasis for most of the matches at Forsaken will be Storyline Development as the company moves forward.
How does the Pain Chamber work?
The Pain Chamber is basically a glorified Elimination Chamber. It will feature 8 men and like the Elimination Chamber it will have two competitors beginning in the ring with the other 6 locked up in GLASS pods, opposed to Chain. A pod will open every THREE minutes until all competitors are in the ring and there will be an unforgiving steel platform surrounding the ring, further enhancing the possibility of pain, while there will be four tables hanging from the Chamber walls just to add a little extra spice to the match and to give Sabu something to do.
Kurt Angle extends EPW Contract!!!
Kurt Angle has indeed extended his tenure with EPW for another two years. He initially signed on for only 6 months to see if he was going to enjoy his time in the company and whether it would be a worthwhile venture for him but after being involved for the time he has ultimately decided that he wants to stay with EPW and be a part of the company as it continues to grow.
Breaking News: Big Name Release from WWE??
We’re hearing that a big name is about to be released from the WWE due to a violation of the wellness policy. No word as to who it is yet, but early guess is Jeff Hardy. We’ll bring you more information as it develops.
The Edge and Kurt Angle Saga to Continue, long term.
The belief backstage is that the feud between Kurt Angle and Edge is expected to carry on for many months. For those who don’t remember, the feud begun before Blaze of Glory when Kurt won the Gauntlet to the Gold at the Destiny PPV, thus winning the Main Event spot at Blaze of Glory. Since then, Edge and Kurt have been at loggerheads and it became intensified at the PPV when Edge got the win courtesy of a Low Blow after he tapped out to the Ankle Lock whilst the Referee was down and out. Kurt wants Edge’s head and it’s expected to be drawn out for some time yet possibily culminating in 2 or 3 PPV’s time. Whether the feud continues to be over the EPW World Title will become apparent at Forsaken.
New Faces in EPW??
The fallout of Forsaken is expected to bring about the debut of a few more new faces in EPW. It’s believed that Heyman wants to bring in some more Mid Card talent to bolster competition for the Pacific Championship as they begin to elevate CM Punk towards the Main Event.
That's that. Um. The last show before Forsaken will be up in FULL in the next week or so. I'm back at work on Monday so things will start to slow down again.
Re: Presenting: Paul Heyman's Evolution Pro Wrestling.
That better have just been news and nothing else. If it is an indication that Hardy is coming in, I'll be pissed off, and I will not consider you a friend from here on in!
I'm deadly serious, bringing in Jeff Hardy could scupper our relationship. You've been warned.
