Default Re: 2007 & Beyond - The Second Fucking Coming

I figured that the “injury” to Lashley would keep him out of the GAB. Good way to cover it up and have him “assaulted” in the locker room. I can see you pulling a swerve with this … possibly having Matt Hardy be the guilty one, instead of having the predictable Christopher Daniels doing it. Matt for the US Title plz.

I figured that this was real from the moment I read the match. Lashley going out with an injury makes it easy for him to look strong since he never “lost” the US Title. Lashley vs. Cena at SummerSlam? Never saw that coming … guess Rock would have been busy at SS. Sad that Cena was never taken seriously to win at the GAB … wonder where he will go for the time being. I have a feeling that we will see KK vs. Batista II … even though I thought that before the injury to Lashley. Cena would be the odd man out and now I see him facing Rocky at SS.

Can’t wait for the PPV, Mac … should be awesome.

If Daniels wins the US Title, I'll insight a riot.

No way does he deserve it, Matt ftw plz.

Rocky/Super Ken has to happen at SS. Batista's had too many chances and just isn't appealing in a program with Jesus anymore, while we all know Taker/Cena has to happen too so yeah. Rocky would be great having another title feud, coz you know, realism is completely overrated

<3.

Now that Lashley is out, I'm picking the obvious Daniels to win. Cena won't win at the Bash and I'm pretty sure that Ken will but he needs to lose the strap at 'Slam. And the Rock as a regular is getting boring in the 2007 time period. Some'in exciting or for him or throw 'im out plz

Default Re: 2007 & Beyond - The Second Fucking Coming

Told you it would come eventually. And it has. Can’t same the same for yours though. Don’t worry, I still <3 you Maccy.

Smackdown

Very nice opening shenanigans there. Letting my disapproval of Kennedy being champion leave my mind, I have LOVED every bit of this clusterfuck of a World Title scene you’ve had since Mania. And this segment here exemplified it all. So many great personalities, without a precise direction. Awesome. And I still have to think that after all these challengers, it’ll be Naitch who actually gets the duke by cashing in MITB. Oh, the sex. Then, of course, Big Dave will turn of Flair and take the strap following a rage of jealousy. I was all but certain it would be KK-Rock at SummerSlam, but now you’ve had the segment end with Cena-KK and a World Title in the middle. SOOOOO hard to call. I have a million and a half ideas. But, I’ll go along with Rock-KK, a money draw for the hottest event of the Summer, and Cena-Animal, a STRONG semi-main event. Ironcially, Cena and the Animal faced off at my SummerSlam. Doubt anyone ACTUALLY read the match, but it was awesome in my opinion. And far better than yours will be of course.

Long versus Finlay kis merely a set up ordeal. And its fine. And for some weird reason, which I think involves this thread a tad, I am beginning to like Mark Henry. And I mean overall, like in real life too. And I cannot begin to tell you how awesome the ‘Silverback’ nickname is.

I like the Regal-CM Punk matchup. Filler? Sure. But hell, what happened to the days when matches were booked, and simply took place on PPV, for the sake of say, having a match on PPV? Segment wasn’t overly important or good, but it did its part to remind us of their impending encounter.

I would have to say that despite the overdoneness of a Mysterio-Guerrero feud, and the fact that I AM NOT thrilled about another BTB match between them, I do indeed respect the fact that it has been built differently then on TV, and if I am right, your 2006 in this thread was not full of overdone and overbearing Rey-Chavo stuff like the real WWE. I actually Chavo going over, because if he doesn’t, quite frankly he has nowhere left to flounder too.

You’ve really struck gold with the tag team angle here. And I’d say barring the Midnight Express [/egocentrism] that the CC is the most over team in BTB right now. They’ve got to win. Oh yeah, and giving this feud its own VP ahead of a confrontation yet to come? Greatness.

Pretty anticlimactic dealings there with the Finlay/Silverback angle really. Thought we’d get more. But I suppose a security separation only adds to the ‘can’t wait for the match’ effect.

Nice ‘Big Time’ in ring interview with the two tag teams. I was not aware that the CC had ever been champions. Have not the Hooligans had the belts since winning them from the Hardys? Anyway, this may be the most anticipated match on the whole card bar the main event, and that Mac, is awesome.

Nice way to add a little more tension to the mix there with the Cena interview and the watch-on by Flair and Dave.

@ the whitey comment. This segment was good. The Game putting himself over, and Steph not being too hard to deal with. Not sure what her decision will be, but it should make for an interesting deal. After all Triple H’s dialogue there it makes me think maybe he’ll be the one facing Ken? I mean, maybe she says know, and his scapegoat is Kennedy, who wins the tag and then picks the Game? That could set up an ultra rare, yet very well built non-title Triple Threat at SummerSlam w/ Rock-Cena-Dave? Or maybe it’ll be Rock-Trips-KK? Although I think that would waste away two potential huge one on one opponents. Then again, maybe it IS the Game, and you’ll go with the Cena-Rock match that never happened and really needs too for SummerSlam. And hell, out of left field here, but what if CC wins the tag gold, and for BIG Match feel purposes, they get an angry Flair/Batista at SummerSlam? Where a huge upset loss could begin the Flair-Batista turmoil. Geez, the options. Oh yeah, and if none of these were your actual ideas, don’t me jealous of my brilliance.

Not really sure how to cal the US Title scene. Lashley is losing of course, as he’s hurt. But Daniels? COME ON! Matt Hardy plz?

Kennedy’s interview layed even more seeds for the Cena-KK match. What the hells going on Mac.

Two DQs back to back sucks, but it’s all for the greater good of the GAB. Not much too say other than a great breakdown and ‘final sell’ of Sunday’s main event. I might add that I think its awesome you’ve the balls to sell a PPV with a non-title tag as the main event. Old school, and quite cool. The standing brawl to close was the best way here. CANNOT wait, tbh.

‘Mac-Classic’ as always sir.

Final Card for The Great American Bash

Mega Tag Team Match:
World Hvwt. Champion Mr. Kennedy & ‘The Great One’ The Rock vs.
‘The Boss’ John Cena & ‘The Animal’ Batista w/‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair

{If The Rock, Cena or Batista pick up the deciding fall, they earn a World Title Match at SummerSlam; if Kennedy wins, he chooses his SS opponent.}
Really just not sure, but my gut says Rock-KK. Perhaps a miscue between Cena-Batista, leading to their match, but giving the duke to Rocky. KKK does not need to be the man to pick up the win. SO why not just let the Rock pick it up. You could say the suspense of ‘who KK will pick’. But really, its end of July, and we need a SS match booked by the end of this contest.

Triple H’s Championship Fate:
Stephanie McMahon decides on The Game’s World Title Fate

She says no to further it. Hard to call. Isn’t it strange what you find yourself doing with the Game to justify him not being in high profile and title situations?

---

WWE Tag Team Championship Match:
The Hooligans vs. The Carolina Connection

The time has come. MOTN.

A Matter of Respect:
Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero

He needs it. Rey can bounce back.

Steel Cage Match:
‘The Fighting Irishman’ Finlay vs. ‘The Silverback’ Mark Henry

Finlay OWNS.

United States Championship; Fatal Four Way Match:
‘The Real Deal’ Bobby Lashley vs. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy
vs. ‘The Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels w/Allison Danger

MEH!

Cruiserweight Championship; Triple Threat Match:
Jamie Noble vs. Chris Sabin vs. Kid Kash

Noble is on the level of supreme beings, so yes. I missed this on SD!

Singles Match:

How? He's just as good of a wrestler as your boy, and can actually talk on the mic without putting people to sleep. Maybe if he was in the WWE during the ATTITUDE ERA~, you'd think differently. OWNED. <3

Well, GAB is here. I think it's a solid enough PPV in its own right, but was used rather well to get us really heading into SummerSlam. Enjoy.

WWE Great American Bash
A SmackDown-Only Production

Opening video plays, focusing on the main event Mega Tag Team Match, Chavo-Mysterio, Finlay-Henry, and the WWE Tag Team Championship Match.

We then get the obligatory mammoth amounts of pyro, before we cut to Joey Styles, Tazz and Michael Cole, who run down the card. The three commentators then remind us of the Bobby Lashley/U.S. Title situation, stating that Lashley was assaulted after SD on Friday, severely tore his right pectoral, and subsequently, will be forced to surrender the U.S. Title here tonight. Our commentators speculate over who may have done it, singling out Christopher Daniels, before mentioning that Daniels, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy will compete in a triple threat match for the vacant U.S. Title tonight.

Singles Match:
William Regal vs. CM Punk

The former United States Champion, Regal, tops his usual aggression in the opening minutes of the contest, coming at Punk with ferocious intensity, incredibly embarrassed by his loss at the hands of the Straight Edge Superstar a couple of weeks ago. To his credit, Punk manages to weather the storm, and manages to make a strong comeback, evening things up with the veteran as the two head down the homestretch.
The finish comes when Punk gets Regal up for the GO TO SLEEP … but the Englishman fights out of it, trips Punk down … and LOCKS IN THE REGAL STRETCH!! Punk’s undefeated streak seems to be in quite a bit of jeopardy … but eventually … Punk reaches the ropes! Regal angrily lets go of the hold, rolls out of the ring … and GRABS A STEEL CHAIR! Regal slides into the ring with it, pulls back, looks to swing … but the referee grabs it!! The two fight over the chair for a bit, until the Englishman tosses it down on the far side of the ring. The ref goes to retrieve it, and Regal quickly goes into his tights, and PULLS OUT (and on) A PAIR OF BRASS KNUCKLES!! As the ref looks to toss the chair out, Regal lifts Punk up to his feet, but CM COUNTERS, LIFTING REGAL ONTO HIS SHOULDERS FOR THE GTS … ONLY TO BE ROCKED BY A PAIR OF BRASS KNUCKS!!! Regal and Punk fall down to the canvas, and Regal quickly flings them out of the ring, as the referee turns around. The crowd boos ferociously as the Straight Edge Superstar’s lights have been completely knocks out. The arrogant Englishman doesn’t go for the cover right away, however, instead, getting up to his feet, and placing a boot on Punk’s chest and arrogantly waving to the crowd. owned. 1... 2... 3!!

Winner - William Regal via pin fall @ 9:41.

As Styles and Cole go nuts over the way Punk’s undefeated streak has ended here tonight, Regal rolls out of the ring, quickly retrieves his brass knucks, puts them away, and heads back up the entrance ramp with a cocky smirk, kicking this night off with a bang.

***

Backstage, The Rock paces back and forth in his locker room, anxious. Rocky takes a quick look at his watch, and then leaves the room in frustration. The camera follows The Great One as he finds a backstage worker, and tells him to come get him as soon as Mr. Kennedy shows his “monkey ass” up to the arena.

***

Elsewhere, Chavo Guerrero laces up his boots with an extreme amount of focus, more determined than we’ve ever seen him, as he prepares for a clash with his best friend, his ‘brother’, Rey Mysterio, tonight.

***

Cruiserweight Championship; Triple Threat Match:
Jamie Noble vs. Chris Sabin vs. Kid Kash

Fast-paced, high-risk, exciting -- just three of the words used to describe all three of these cruiserweights, and three words that describe this title contest. Each man spends a significant amount of time in the driver’s seat of the match, picking up near falls on both of their opponents.
At the eight minute mark, it’s the most popular star in the match, Chris Sabin, who looks ready to put the match away, flying all over the place, before managing to take Kash and Noble down with a combination DDT/Reverse DDT, which gets a huge pop. Sabin first goes for the cover on Kash, but only gets a two. He then goes to cover Noble, and only gets a two on him as well. Sabin picks Noble up, tosses him into the corner, and then charges in, but Noble hits him with a boot to the face, kicks him in the gut, and GOES FOR THE TIGER BOMB - BUT SABIN COUNTERS INTO A HURRICANRANA, HOOKING BOTH LEGS!! 1... 2... NO! Kash grabs Sabin by the hair, and pulls him off! Kash then lifts him up, looking for a neck breaker, but Sabin spins out of it, and lifts him onto his shoulders, looking for a CRADLE SHOCK - but Kash fights it off, and gets back onto solid ground. He quickly lifts Sabin up, and drills him with the DEAD LEVEL!! Kash looks to go for the cover … but Noble delivers a front dropkick to his back, sending him tumbling out of the ring!! While the crowd boos, the Cruiserweight Champion lifts Sabin up to his feet, tucks him, hooks the arms, and then PLANTS HIM WITH THE TIGER BOMB into a cover!! 1... 2... 3!!!

Winner - AND STILL Cruiserweight Champion - Jamie Noble @ 11:02.

The redneck stands up, and gets handed the Cruiserweight Title, snatching it from the referee. The Notorious K.I.D. gets up to his feet at ringside, shaking his head, while Noble rolls out of the ring, clutching his belt, and Sabin sits up in the ring, holding his back in pain.

***

SummerSlam video package plays, touting the PPV on 8/26 as the ‘Hottest Party of the Summer,’ featuring the highly anticipated TLC war between Edge and Randy Orton for the WWE Championship and a World Heavyweight Title Match with Mr. Kennedy defending against either Batista, John Cena or The Rock; Special 7:30 start time for the three and a half hour event, btw. IN FULL, imo.

***

Finally, Mr. Kennedy, the World Heavyweight Champion, shows up to the arena, carrying his bag. Stephanie McMahon meets him at the door, asking him where the hell he’s been, and KK curtly responds with a smirk, stating that if Triple H doesn’t have to show up at all, why in the hell should he have to show up on time. KK quickly moves past her and down the hall, but that comment seems to have made Stephanie think about other things she’ll have to address tonight…and HOW she have to address them…

***

Steel Cage Match:
‘The Fighting Irishman’ Finlay vs. ‘The Silverback’ Mark Henry

Once the door slams, locking the two stars in the cage, Finlay and Henry come at each other like a couple of … caged animals? Yeah, let’s go with that. The Irishman and The Silverback attempt to rip each other’s throat out, like they’ve done for months now, but this time they’ve got a cage to work with! And after the fists stop flying at around the six minute mark, the steel comes into play.
It starts off simple enough with each man slamming the other into the cage from various angles out of many situations, which leads to BOTH being
BUSTED OPEN, but it soon picks up a notch, with Henry POWERBOMBING Finlay into the steel, causing the Fighting Irish bastard to collapse down to the canvas!! From that point on, ‘The World’s Bloodiest Strong Man’ proceeds to beat the life out of Finlay, hitting him with every high-impact maneuver in his arsenal, while the crowd effectively dies, amazed by the beating the tough Finlay is taking.
Ten minutes into it, the blood-spattered Finlay begins to fight back, first fighting out of a bear hug, and then pounding away on the bloody face of Henry! The tough-as-nails Irishman then attempts to plow through the massive mammoth with clotheslines, and eventually does, with a leaping one, which takes Henry down!! Teddy Long watches in distress, as Finlay continues to pick up momentum, quickly lifting Henry up, before he PLANTS HIM WITH A DDT!!! The crowd roars as Finlay shakes his head, gets up, AND WALKS TOWARD THE DOOR!!! The refs open the cage, and Finlay looks to step through the ropes … BUT LONG SWINGS FINLAY’S SHILLELAGH, KEEPING HIM IN THE CAGE!!! The refs try to take it from Long, but T-Lo swings it at them, telling the “crackas to get back”. The Irishman then sticks his upper body through the ropes, AND LONG SWINGS…BUT FINLAY CATCHES IT AGAINST HIS SIDE!!! Teddy looks on in fear, as the crowd cheers and Finlay lets out gap-toothed smirk, SNATCHING IT AWAY!! Finlay then steps back into the ring, closing the door, and turns back around - ONLY TO BE LIFTED UP BY HENRY - LOOKING FOR THE WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM - BUT FINLAY DRILLS HIM WITH THE SHILLELAGH!!!
Henry collapses down to the canvas with Finlay on top of him - COVER! 1... 2... NO! TEDDY BREAKS IT UP, STOMPING ON THE BACK OF FINLAY!!! The crowd boos, but Finlay is even more bothered, angrily getting up to his feet. Long backs up, before turning and looking to climb the cage - but Finlay grabs him, and throws him down to the canvas with authority! Finlay then lifts Long up, and backs him up against the cage, threatening him, as Long holds his hands up. Out of nowhere though, HENRY CHARGES AHEAD - BUT FINLAY DUCKS - AND HENRY CRUSHES LONG AGAINST THE CAGE!!!! Finlay quickly reaches down, grabs the shillelagh off the floor - AND SLAMS IT AGAINST THE BACK OF HENRY’S HEAD~!!!!~! Henry falls down to the canvas, and with Long out, The Irishman lets out a smile, blood dripping in between his gap. Finlay then walks towards the cage, the refs unlocks it, AND FINLAY LEAVES THE CAGE!!

Winner - FINLAY @ 15:43.

The crowd cheers as The Fighting Irish Bastard steps on the floor, takes a look back at the unconscious Henry and Long, before heading back up the ramp, out of the arena, and away from this feud - the winner.

***

Inside of his locker room, Rey Mysterio warms up, ready to tear it up against Chavo Guerrero tonight. Rey-Rey seems to be in better shape than normal, and our commentators mention it, stating that he’s lost five pounds in intense training for this match up with Chavito.

***

Kristal Marshall conducts an interview with ‘The Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels. Right off the bat, Daniels denies having any involvement or knowledge concerning the assault on Bobby Lashley. Smartly, Kristal mentions how he won his first title in the WWE, taking out Jamie Noble and Kid Kash before the No Mercy 2006 PPV, and back then, he denied all knowledge as well {owned}. Flustered, Daniels can’t come out with a decent excuse, but does manage to say he didn’t do it once more, before storming off.

***

SmackDown GM Stephanie McMahon waits in the ring, microphone in hand. Steph states that ever since WrestleMania, Bobby Lashley has been a fighting and dominant champion … but here tonight … he will be forced to relinquish the championship, since he can no longer defend it. The crowd boos the announcement, but that soon turns into cheers, as Bobby Lashley steps out onto the stage, in dress clothes, right arm in a sling, title belt over his left shoulder.

Lashley enters the ring, and is soon handed a microphone. Never one to babble on, Lashley states simply that he doesn’t know who assaulted him, but he will find out, and once he comes back, he’ll take that person out, and then take back HIS title. The crowd cheers for Bobby, and Lashley angrily takes the belt off his shoulder. Lashley then continues, stating that when he does take his title back, he’ll EARN it back, before tosses it the belt to Stephanie. Steph looks at The Real Deal sideways, probably reading a little too much into that final comment than she needs to, before dropping her head back down into thought again about what she must address later tonight…

The FORMER United States Champion then gingerly exits the ring, and heads back up the ramp, just as the music of The Fallen Angel plays and out walks Christopher Daniels and Allison Danger. Lashley fiercely glares at Daniels, and The Fallen Angel once more says that he had nothing to do with his assault, holding his hands up, but the expression on Lashley’s face doesn’t change a bit, glaring a hole through the former CW Champion.

VACANT United States Championship; Triple Threat Match:
Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Christopher Daniels
w/Allison Danger

The three talented exciting wrestlers(Jeff fucked it up) put on the second strong Triple Threat Match of the evening. Matt and Jeff are ready to let it be every man for himself from the start, but The Fallen Angel’s mouth gets him in trouble, as he insults both Hardys. Much to the delight of the crowd, the former World Tag Team Champions have no problem shutting Daniels up, spending the next couple of minutes nailing the former CW Champion with their tandem offense.
Eventually, Daniels rolls out of the ring … and Matt blindsides Jeff, taking him down!! As Daniels lies on the outside, being attended to by Allison Danger, the next few minutes see the two Hardys battle it out - with the more popular Jeff playing the face, and his brother - the heel. The singles match within the match remains even for the time it takes place, until Jeff hits the Whisper in the Wind on Matt, and looks for the cover … only to have it broken up by The Fallen Angel!
The next several minutes of the contest sees the three potential future U.S. Champions pull out every single move in their arsenal to pull out the victory - TOF’s, Swantons, Side Effects, Flying Leg Drops, Last Rites the whole nine - but none of the three manage to do it, with the pin fall always being broken up by the third man. Finally, twelve minutes into the tremendous contest, the three do the TOWER OF DOOM~ spot, and we’re back to where we started.
Daniels, the bottom of the tower, is the first man up to his feet, and he quickly grabs Jeff, sticks him between his legs, and looks for another Angel’s Wings - but Jeff spins out of it, and HITS DANIELS WITH THE TWIST OF FATE!! Hardy drags him toward the corner, slowly climbs to the top, and then looks for the SWANTON - BUT DANIELS MOVES OUT OF THE WAY, AND JEFF CRASHES AND BURNS!!! Daniels staggers up to his feet, leaps onto the bottom turnbuckle, then the second, then the top - LOOKING FOR THE BEST MOONSAULT EVER - BUT MATT SWIPES HIS LEGS FROM UNDER HIM, CAUSING DANIELS TO CROTCH THE TOP TURNBUCKLE!!!
If that wasn’t bad enough, The Fallen Angel doesn’t even fall into the ring, instead, collapsing to the outside, clutching himself. Inside, Matt lifts Jeff up - BUT JEFF COUTNERS INTO A SMALL PACKAGE! 1... 2... NO!! Matt kicks out! The two get back up, and Matt kicks him in the gut - LOOKING FOR THE TWIST OF FATE - BUT HARDY SPINS OUT OF IT, and kicks Matt in the gut - LOOKING FOR THE TWIST OF FATE!! Jeff spins, but Matt shoves him off into the ropes! Matt ducks down as Jeff comes back, and JEFF LEAPS OVER, LOOKING FOR A SUNSET FLIP - BUT HE CAN’T GET HIM OVER - AND MATT SITS DOWN, QUICKLY GRABBING JEFF’S LEGS FOR THE COVER!! 1... 2... NO!!! JEFF KICKS OUT!!
The crowd cheers the two on as the brothers get back up to their feet, and Jeff throws the right hand, but Matt ducks it, kicks Jeff in the gut - LOOKING FOR THE TWIST OF FATE - AND HITS IT!!! The crowd gives a mixed reaction as, with Daniels getting back up to his feet on the outside, Matthew covers Jeffrey! 1... 2... 3!!!!

Winner - AND NEW UNITED STATES CHAMPION - MATT HARDY @ 15:33.

Daniels reaches his arm in the ring to stop it - BUT IT’S TOO LATE - MATT HARDY IS THE NEW U.S. CHAMPION!! With many in the crowd cheering for Hardy like crazy and Matt pumping his fist with great excitement, Stephanie, who remained at ringside, enters the ring. Matt stands up, and Stephanie PLACES THE TITLE BELT AROUND HIS WAIST, while the crowd continues to applaud. Matt simply glares at the gold, while Jeff rolls out of the ring, frustrated, and, watching the on-goings, Daniels solemnly tells Danger “That’s my moment…”

***

Backstage, Steve Romero conducts an interview with The Carolina Connection. The number one contenders don’t want to spend much time talking, and Helms simply states that for months on end, each and every fan, critic, and wrestler has known who the best tag team in the world is. Tonight, he and Benjamin prove it.

***

Elsewhere, Mr. Kennedy, now dressed in his wrestling gear, straightens up his kneepads and elbow pads … before THE ROCK walks in. Rocky glares at KK, but Kennedy pays him no mind, continuing his routine. Finally, Rock speaks, stating that the two of them need to get on the same page, but KK responds simply “Or … you could stab me in the back now, and save us the drama.” Rock states that he needs Kennedy with him tonight … but after that … he’ll be more than happy to stab him in the back. As KK’s face scrunches up, Rock walks out of the locker room. Kennedy then looks up and lets out a slight smile, stating “That was a good one,” before going back to his pads.

***

A Matter of Respect:
Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero

Mysterio and Chavo stare at each other from across the ring for what seems like an eternity, measuring each other up, looking each other over, while the crowd watches with anticipation. Eventually, the two lock up in a collar and elbow tie up, and the match up begins to take form; the two best friends are both clearly technically sound and have appreciable speed … but Chavito is the better ground wrestler, while Mysterio is considerably quicker.
The first five minutes of the match sees Guerrero use his wrestling ability to keep Mysterio grounded, not letting the luchador elevate. Showing his heart and determination, however, Rey-Rey finally manages to get out of the predicament, and get airborne, managing to take Chavo down with several hurricanranas and head scissors, which frustrates Chavito to know end. Clearly upset, Guerrero throws strategy (and amicableness) right out of the window, kicking Mysterio in the gut, before hammering away on him with right hands! Rey-Rey returns the hard shots, and the match has broken down from a “Matter of Respect” to an all-out war at the GAB.
The next several minutes sees Guerrero and Mysterio use every trick in the book to put the other away, with each man pulling out maneuvers they haven’t done in recent memory … but still coming up short.
At the fifteen minute mark, Guerrero drills Rey with the Three Amigos, being cheered by the crowd at this point, before he goes up to the top. Chavo looks around, and then leaps off, GOING FOR THE FROG SPLASH … AND HITS IT!! 1... 2... NO! Rey kicks out, and Chavito can’t believe it.
He lifts Mysterio up, and goes to shoot him into the ropes, but Rey counters, and hits a drop toe hold, causing Chavo to get caught up on the ropes. The crowd roars as Rey hit’s the ropes, and connects with the 619! Guerrero staggers around the ring, and Mysterio leaps up and off the top rope … GOING FOR THE WEST COAST POP - BUT CHAVO DOESN’T LET HIM FLIP OVER, instead, bringing him towards the corner, and POWERBOMBS HIM INTO THE CORNER!!
The crowd gasps but Rey doesn’t get to go down, as Chavo quickly tucks him, and soon enough, LOOKS FOR THE GORY BOMB - BUT MYSTERIO COUNTERS INTO A SUNSET FLIP VARIATION!! 1... 2... 3!!!

Winner - REY MYSTERIO via pin fall @ 18:55.

The crowd explodes with cheers as Mysterio picks up the duke in this tremendous match, if only by a “nose.” Chavito gets up and looks around, completely shocked that Rey-Rey caught him sleeping, and got the win. Mysterio holds the back of his head and neck in pain, as Chavo talks to the referee, holding up two fingers. Rey gets back up to a vertical base and raises his hands up, getting another rousing ovation from the crowd, as Chavo angrily leaves the ring, and begins heading back up the entrance ramp.

Guerrero stops at the top of the entrance ramp … before he turns back around, looking at a celebrating Mysterio. Chavo then … walks back down the entrance ramp, before climbing into the ring. Rey and Chavito stare at one another … Rey with clinched fists … before Chavo extends him his hand. The crowd cheers, as Mysterio … ACCEPTS his handshake, and then the two EMBRACE in the middle of the ring!! {Awww} Almost every fan in the arena cheers as the two best friends effectively put this conflict behind them, after showing the world that they both have what it takes to compete at the highest level, putting on a twenty minute war here tonight.

***

Backstage, Batista, John Cena, and Ric Flair occupy their locker room, while The Boss and The Animal warm up. Naitch lets the two ‘youngsters’ know that a GOLDEN opportunity is in front of them right now, and Bati- they’ve got to take the duke here tonight, because if KK wins, he’ll do everything he can to duck Ba- the both of them. Cena rolls his eyes, and heads out of the locker room, while Flair slaps Batista on the shoulder, and Big Dave continues to get ready.

***

Moments before the semi-main event, the WWE Tag Team Title Match, the WWE Tag Team Champions The Hooligans are interviewed by Josh Matthews. London and Kendrick are locked in, with Paul stating that they haven’t come this far, proven this much, and proven this many people wrong, simply to let these belts go, before walking off to a decent pop.

***

WWE Tag Team Championship Match:
The Hooligans vs. The Carolina Connection

The two phenomenal tag teams do what they’ve done every time they’ve locked up - and what they do best - putting on a tremendous contest. The crowd’s almost split down the middle as to who they want to take the match, though with the run of “bad-ass-edness” the CC have had for the entire seven months of ‘07, they have a slight edge in that department 60/40.
Like most of the matches tonight, it’s as evenly matched as it can get with the two best tag teams in the company putting on a clinic of technical and high-flying wrestling for the thousands of fans packed into the reading. The crowd might’ve came to see Rock, Cena, KK, and Batista but they’ll be leaving talking about this match up, as twenty minutes into the match up, neither team has managed to put the other away, and worse yet, neither has had much of a distinct advantage, each tandem managing to avoid the killer blow from the other.
Twenty-three minutes into the match up, we still don’t have a winner - but we do have four sprawled out superstars - with Benjamin and Kendrick lying on the outside, while London and Helms begin to get up on the inside. London and Helms then begin to exchange forearms to the face. Helms goes low, hitting a knee, before he shoots London off, who comes back and takes Helms down with a hurricanrana! While Benjamin and Kendrick get up and return to their corners, London lifts Helms up and shoots him into the corner, before charging in! London leaps up, but Helms moves out of the way, and London lands flat-footed on the middle turnbuckle! London turns and leaps off with a CROSSBODY - but Helms catches him, AND PLANTS HIM WITH A HARD FLAPJACK!!
The crowd gives a mixed reaction as Helms gets up, and walks toward the corner, poised. London sits up, holding his gut, and Helms charges, LOOKING FOR THE SHINING WIZARD - BUT LONDON DUCKS, LEAPS UP, AND DRILLS HIM WITH A DROPSAULT!!
The impact sends Helms flying into his corner, where unbeknownst to most, Benjamin makes a blind tag, lightly tapping Helms on the back out of view. L calls K into the ring, and Kendrick quickly runs in, and drills Shelton with a running forearm, knocking him off the apron!! Knowing that time is of the essence, London pulls Helms out of the corner, and hits him with a body slam near the turnbuckle. The ref tells Kendrick to leave the ring, and that’s just what he does, leaving the ring … before climbing to the top turnbuckle!! As Benjamin walks around ringside, London steps out onto the apron as well and Kendrick gets set on the top. Spanky takes a second … BEFORE LEAPING OFF THE TOP WITH A 450 SPLASH - AND HITS IT ON HELMS!!!
London begins to climb the turnbuckle, as Shelton steps into the ring. Kendrick looks at Shelton and charges, but Benjamin LEAPS OVER him, runs, THEN LEAPS TO THE TOP TURNBUCKLE - GRABS LONDON - BEFORE TAKING HIM OFF THE TOP {OVER HELMS} WITH A SUPER T-BONE SUPLEX!!!!
The crowd ‘oohs’ and ‘ahs’, then explodes with cheers for the maneuver, much like they did when he hit it at WM. As Helms rolls out of the ring, Benjamin gets up, only to be rocked with a couple of right hands by Kendrick … who’s then told to leave the ring by the referee. As he steps out onto the apron, Spanky tells the ref to get Shelton out as well … but he doesn’t as Benjamin COVERS THE UNMOVING LONDON!!! 1... 2... 3!!!

Winners - AND NEW WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS - THE CAROLINA CONNECTION @ 28:21.

THE CONNECTION FINALLY PULLS OUT THE VICTORY AND WIN THE GOLD in a near thirty minute phenomenal tag team match up - but most of the crowd is confused, while Kendrick is PISSED, and screams at the referee, telling him Benjamin wasn’t the legal man, while the ref disagrees. As Shelton helps his partner up on the outside, the Carolinians are handed the tag team gold, FINALLY regaining the tag titles. Spanky grabs the ref by the collar, really pissed … but luckily for the ref, a replay of the match highlights begins to play and he points to them for verification. A groggy London and a furious Kendrick watch in awe as they see Benjamin make the inconspicuous tag to his partner. Spanky lets go of the referee, and drops to his knees in despair and disbelief, while London simply shakes his head, their strong tag title run done and dusted, while The Carolina Connection celebrate with the gold at the top of the ramp.

*Backstage - GM’s Office*

Stephanie McMahon sits at her desk, eyes on her monitor, huge smile on her face, watching The Carolina Connection celebrate after one of the best matches of the year. Soon enough, there’s a knock on her door…

Stephanie McMahon:
What?

~ Steph turns her eyes from the monitor and towards the door, as in walks … ‘The Game’ Triple H. Hunter walks in, and immediately has a seat across from Stephanie, and Steph faces him as well, neither looking all that flustered, incredibly calm considering the situation. The two former spouses stare at one another for a bit … until finally … Steph speaks…

Stephanie McMahon:
……You’re right.

~ Hunter lets out a bit of a smile, adjusting in his seat, as Steph nods her head.

Stephanie McMahon:
You’re absolutely right. At this point in your career, you probably shouldn’t have to necessarily earn a title shot.
And the problems we’ve had aside, I want you to know, I do respect what you’ve done for this company, I respect what you’ve done for my family, and most importantly, I respect what you do in that ring.

~ Triple H nods appreciatively, rubbing his beard, as he continues to look at Stephanie.

Stephanie McMahon:
You challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship against Mr. Kennedy would be huge - very good for business … but it won’t be happening.

~ That last comment catches Hunter off guard, and it takes a second or two to set in. H shakes his head, a scowl coming over his face.

Triple H:
(Scoffs) What?

~ Steph gets up from her seat, and puts her fists onto her desk, looking straightaway into the face of a somewhat confused and definitely angry Game.

Stephanie McMahon:
You’ve earned the respect for what you do in this ring and for this company … but you haven’t treated me with a lick of respect for a LONG while now, and I’m not gonna go against what I’ve said and promised for months on end - I am NOT handing you a World Title shot.

~ Hunter’s eyes light up with fury, as Steph backs away a bit, before sitting back in her chair.

Stephanie McMahon:
I’m not gonna bump you to the front of the line for a title shot, over guys like Rock, and Cena, and Batista, and Finlay, and Henry, and Mysterio, or anybody else for that matter, throw my word out the window, crap on the trust that I’ve earned from the eighty people working under me, just so you can satisfy your ego … regardless of how many years you have left, or how much money it ends up costing me.

~ The Game is amazed at what he’s hearing, shocked that a McMahon would take the moral high ground when put up against the almighty dollar. Steph stands up straight, letting out a sight, while Hunter looks down at the ground.

Stephanie McMahon:
Hunter, you’re a tremendous athlete, one of the best wrestlers in this business, and can still be the World Heavyweight Champion whenever you put your mind to it … but I’m not giving you anything.

~ Triple H slowly looks up from the ground, fire in his eyes. Steph’s expression doesn’t change a bit, not backing down…

Triple H:
Steph, (scoffs) I want you tell me one thing. What would the people working under you rather have - trust in you … or the reassurance that when they walk up and down these halls … they won’t have their damn head smashed in?

~ Stephanie seems taken aback by Hunter’s last line, but soon recovers, her face scrunches up.

Stephanie McMahon:
Don’t bother with empty threats, Hunter.

~ H scoffs again, shaking his head.

Triple H:
Empty threats?

~ Hunter gets up from his seat, running his hands through his hair with a frustrated smile … before angrily turning towards the GM.

Triple H:
Let me tell you something, you little two-dollar tramp-

~ Steph arches her eyebrow as The Game furiously puts his finger in her face.

Triple H:
This place doesn’t exist without me! YOU don’t exist without me! Before I met you, the fans didn’t know Stephanie McMahon from the brunette they wanted to bang at the Seven Eleven.

~ Stephanie shakes her head in disgust as H continues.

Triple H:
Vince might’ve made you rich, but I made you a star, I made you a household name! After all I’ve done for you - gave you an identity, took that silver spoon out of your mouth and made you more than just the yuppie daughter of a billionaire, you should be begging me, BEGGING ME, to put my name at the top of your roster as the World Heavyweight Champion - BEGGING ME!! And you turn around and pull this crap - you’re lucky I don’t rip your damn head off!

~ Hunter shakes with intensity, while Steph’s face shows a few different emotions - fear, shock, anger…even a bit of hatred. The two stare at each other from opposite sides of the table, before Steph’s face sours, and she leans over with a scowl.

Stephanie McMahon:
Get out.

~ H and Stephanie glare at each other, each foaming at the mouth … BEFORE HUNTER TAKES THE TABLE AND FLIPS IT OUT OF THE WAY!!!

Steph’s papers and lots of other crap goes flying everywhere, the lamp shatters, and the table makes a loud thud as H unleashes his anger. Stephanie backs away in fear as H closes in, trembling with fury. After hearing the commotion, several security guards come in…

Security guard:
Ms. McMahon … is everything all right?

~ HHH doesn’t remove his eyes from McMahon, as Steph seems to gain a bit more of her usual confidence back, slowly moving her head to the side, looking at the security.

Stephanie McMahon:
Everything’s fine. Mr. Helmsley was just leaving…

~ Steph arrogantly looks back at Hunter.

Stephanie McMahon:
…weren’t you?

~ Hunter continues to glare at his ex-wife with anger … before slowly letting out a smirk as he turns toward the security.

Triple H:
Yeah…I’m leaving…

~ H then looks back at Steph, and leans in towards her ear.

Triple H:
…but I’m far from finished.

~ H scoffs, snarls, turns, and then heads towards the turn, storming right through security, who follow him…

Stephanie McMahon:
Buh-bye.

Mega Tag Team Match:
World Hvwt. Champion Mr. Kennedy & ‘The Great One’ The Rock vs.
‘The Boss’ John Cena & ‘The Animal’ Batista w/‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair
{If The Rock, Cena or Batista pick up the deciding fall, they earn a World Title Match at SummerSlam; if Kennedy wins, he chooses his SS opponent}

The tension between the two tandems is noticeable from the start of the contest, with neither team using any moves which involved help from a teammate, though Batista and Cena seem more focused on destruction than any personal beef between the two of them. Kennedy and Rock, on the other hand, don’t attempt to hide their dislike, hitting each other with hard tags and giving each other evil looks from the get go.
The finish comes when Kennedy and Cena, the legal men, hit each other with a double clothesline in the center of the ring, taking each other down and out. After a dozen or seconds, KK and Cena make the hot tags to Batista and Rock! The Animal and The People’s Champion come in, and begin to exchange right hands, and Rocky eventually wins out, taking Big Dave down with the spit punch. The Boss takes advantage of him with his back turned, and takes Rock down with a hard shot - a STIFF clothesline to the BACK OF HIS HEAD!!
KK enters the ring, and looks to take Cena down, but Cena avoids his attempt at a right hand, and tosses him onto his shoulders, looking for THE FU! The Boss turns … and Kennedy’s feet completely WIPE OUT THE REFEREE!!
CENA GOES FOR THE FU … BUT KK LANDS ON HIS FEET, and stumbles toward the ropes! The Boss recovers, and then charges, but KK uses a back body drop to dump Cena out of the ring!! Kennedy arrogantly backs up, getting cheers from the crowd … but is soon GRABBED BY BATISTA, who clutches Kennedy’s arms tightly!! The Animal calls for The Nature Boy as KK struggles to get free, and Ric Flair enters the ring, holding the MITB briefcase! Big Dave smirks, and Flair lets out a “WOOOO,” before HE SWINGS THE BRIEFCASE -- BUT KK DUCKS -
- AND FLAIR TAKES OUT BATISTA!!!
The crowd ERUPTS, as Kennedy kicks Flair in the gut, and follows up with the MIC CHECK!! Both Cena and Rock get back up to their feet, while Kennedy stares down at the fallen Flair and Batista. Cena looks to get back into the ring, but Kennedy squares up with him, calling him on in. Knowing he’s probably fighting a losing battle at this point, CENA FLIPS KK off, and then storms back up the entrance ramp in a huff!
Kennedy mocks crying, before turning around … right into the face of THE ROCK!! Rock and KK stare at one another, and the crowd goes wild. KK moves past Rock, lifts Flair up to his feet, and tosses him over the top rope! Kennedy motions toward Rock and then Batista, and Rocky lets out at bit of a smile, before he moves toward the head of The Animal, and tosses his elbow pad into the crowd!! The audience goes crazy as The Great One runs the ropes, does his usual theatrics and then DRILLS BATISTA WITH THE PEOPLE’S ELBOW!!!
Rock follows that up by covering Batista, as KK wakes up the referee… 1... 2... 3!!!

Winners - The Rock and Mr. Kennedy via pin fall @ 18:37.
**THE ROCK IS THE NUMBER ONE CONTENDER FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP AT SUMMERSLAM**

The crowd stands on its feet and applaud as Batista rolls out of the ring, and both Kennedy and The Rock get back up to a vertical base. KK has his back turned to The Rock, being handed his World Heavyweight Championship…

…and THE GREAT ONE … BEGINS TO STALK THE CHAMPION!!

KK TURNS AROUND AND…

…nothing.

Rock and Kennedy come face to face, while the arena continues to stand and applaud the SummerSlam main event. Rocky takes a second, but eventually sticks his hand out. The champion slings the title belt over his shoulder, before looking into the crowd for an opinion, and he gets one; a resounding cheer from the crowd. Kennedy then looks into the fierce eyes of The Rock … AND SHAKES HIS HAND!

The camera closes in on the two superstars and the crowd explodes for the show of respect…

…UNTIL WHAM!!!

THE ROCK FALLS ALL THE WAY TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE RING, COLLAPSING TO THE FLOOR!!

Not due to a shot from Kennedy, however, as KK HITS THE CANVAS TOO, right alongside the World Heavyweight Title, holding his back!! The crowd goes completely bat shit…

… AS ‘THE GAME’ TRIPLE H STARES DOWN AT KENNEDY!!!

Our commentators go wild too, as Kennedy struggles up to his feet, after a powerful knee from The Cerebral Assassin to his back sent both he and Rocky down. The World Champion turns around and Hunter kicks him in the gut, before…

…TRIPLE H PLANTS KENNEDY WITH THE PEDIGREE!!!!

A THUNDEROUS mixed reaction fills the arena as The King of Kings makes his first appearance inside a WWE ring since WrestleMania 23. While Rock attempts to get up on the outside, Kennedy lays down on the inside, and security running down the ramp to get Hunter, Triple H picks up KK’s World Title and raises it above his head to another INCREDIBLY LOUD mixed reaction, letting out a loud roar as we fade off the air.

END OF SHOW

^^^Erm, very quick response to that. I don't have a HUGE problem with Daniels. I do like Matt better, but totally agree that he cannot work the stic. However, I will disown our partnership in life if you ever again peg me as an Attitude era guy. Not sure if that's what you were actually trying to do, but still. I am not that washed up moderator who cannot let that decade-ago fad go away. Nor was I even a fan of it. Period. Remember kind sir, I actually LIVED through the 80's, unlike most on here. THAT is my era. Clearing the air there. Anyway, Bash shall be awesome. Review next week. <3

A solid GAB, DDMac.

I really like how you've developed the Triple H/Stephanie McMahon storyline. With Hunter attacking both Rock and Kennedy after the main-event, I'm guessing he will somehow earn his way into the title match at SummerSlam, making it a Triple Threat for the World Heavyweight Championship.

at Naitch and the MITB briefcase, that's great writing right there. Typical Ric Flair. It also adds to my earlier prediction that eventually Batista and Flair will break up and have a feud.

I liked how Finlay beat Mark Henry in the Steel Cage, a solid win for the "Fighting Irish Bastard".

Matt Hardy pinning Jeff is interesting, but I doubt we'll see the two feud. I'm guessing with Lashley out, Christopher Daniels will challenge Matt for the United States Championship considering he's the man who was never pinned.

Also, even though you had Rey and Chavo embrace in the ring, I still smell Chavo snapping on Rey on Smackdown!, remaining a heel. After all, he is a Guerrero.

I'm now looking forward to SummerSlam, considering the success of the event when you booked it last year. Keep up the good work.

The Great American Bash Feedback

Punk|Regal is an okay opener. I would think that the three way cruiser title would've pumped the crowd up a little better. Regal winning was a shock to say the least. I didn't think he'd pull it off nor did I want him to. Punk has been on a roll and he should've kept that going. A loss at the hands of William Regal makes him look slightly weak, even if it was to the brass knucks. Regal, now has something to brag about, especially to Booker and the New Breed. I imagine a feud to come into play soon after all this teasing. Punk will win a rematch on SmackDown, I'm sure

The Cruiserweight title match looked awesome. I expected Noble to win and pin Sabin so the Kash feud will most likely continue until a singles match. More interaction between Cruisers and Heavyweights are needed imo. Have like a battle of the weight divisions...plz

Finlay vs. Henry seemed interesting to say the least. I didn't think both men being busted open was necessary especially considering the way the match ended. If anyone was to be busted open, it should've been T Lo but he did get his dues. I don't expect Teddy and Henry to have any sort of friction coming off of this as it seemed like a way to fuel the crowd. Finlay winning was a good rebound off the No Holds Barred Match. Hopefully the feud is over and both men can move onto something better not that this was bad

Lashley and Daniels will feud when Bobby is back. With Bobby gone, I don't expect either of the Hardyz to turn heel soon. Matt Hardy winning was good surprise. Jeff getting pinned was rather a blow but I guess it was either him or Daniels. Now I'm not a huge fan of Jeff by any means but he does get amazing receptions everywhere he goes and deserves to be pushed, especially since he didn't get busted for drug abuse in this thread . After the way this match went, I don't see the US title being defended at SummerSlam for some reason

Rey vs. Chavo should've been given the semi-main event spot. They pulled out a classic and the way it ended made both men look strong. This was by far the most intriguing match on the card and it delivered big time. Rey winning will surely propel him to main event glory over people like Kennedy and the Rock? No?

See now two tag matches are cramped together in the main event of a big PPV. A big no no. While this match was a sure fired classic, it would've been perfect for a mid card main event like Michaels|Flair was at Mania this year or Batista|Taker at last year. The Carolina Connection finally won the gold and in a way that brought London and Kendrick looking absolutely dominant. They were the victim of chance this time and Benjamin and Helms excaped with the titles. I do however think that 30 minutes was a little too long for this match. No harm done though. Great match

Stephanie and Triple H segment is deteriorating in quality by the show tbh. The first one was the best and since then, it just went downhill. Make things more personal and less about the world title plz atleast for a little while. Triple H looking weak in this thread = no buyrates

The Cena character is amazing right now with his lone wolf dynamic he has going. Him leaving mid match will surely spark a feud with the Animal, I don't think that this is time to mild that feud yet. Heel vs. Heel rocks but I do see the lesser of two evils turning soon and plus there's the unfinished feuds with Taker and Rock for Cena. Again fueling the crowd with Flair taking Batista out. I expect Tista to blame Flair a bit but nothing noteworthy coming out of it yet. I still don't understand or like the Nature Boy with the MITB. Rock winning and Kennedy letting him, just equals a Kennedy win and choosing the Rock. Rock vs. Kennedy should be awesome. I called the Triple H attack, even though the time and place might've been flawed. Seeing as you already have the SummerSlam banner up, I don't expect Hunter to get involved in the title match. More backstage segments with Stephanie for the win

As I said, average card for a PPV. The Rey|Chavo match and the tag title match were both gems in their own right. Everything else set up something interesting. Really solid stuff here and Triple H being the last man standing is always good
