A. I know your pain as the same thing just happened to me. Right after my 1st PPV my TV deal was screwed.

A. as long as you have your wrestlers with written contracts.

May 28, 2001-Hotel Conference Room, Charlotte, North Carolina- 2:00PM

Eric Bischoff, Ric Flair, and Steve Borden are standing at the head of the conference room at the Charlotte Marriot Hotel, the hotel that all of the WCW wrestlers were staying at for Slamboree. The three owners called a press conference with all of the talent for 2 to inform them all about the cancellation of Nitro, and to announce the future plans of World Championship Wrestling.

Eric Bischoff: Alright guys, thanks for being able to arrive on such short notice.

Steve Borden: Now as you all know, Nitro was scheduled to take place tonight in Raleigh, however, that will not be happening.

Ric Flair: As most of you have probably heard by now, the USA Network have randomly and quite surprisingly cancelled Nitro after just three shows.

The room immediately erupts into conversation amongst the talent. Some speak in fear, some in anger. The talent all has different takes on this huge news. Some of the talent is in fear for their job security and the promotion’s. Some guys are pissed about WCW’ inability to be a success, and want to leave the promotion. But a few of the wrestlers are willing to work harder to make the company work.

Borden: Now guys, I know you are all shocked about this, but come on, we have to stay positive.

The wrestlers start to silence after Borden’s statement. Well, most do. One however, stands up to his feet in disgust. That man is Bill Goldberg.

Bill Goldberg: Stay positive? You want us to fucking stay positive about this sinking ship? WCW is a fucking hell hole, and can’t succeed!

Bischoff: Hey Goldberg, what the fuck were you thinking!? Did you just think that since WCW got a TV deal again we’d be the number one promotion overnight!?

Flair: World Championship Wrestling is not a fucking sinking ship anymore! WCW was seconds away from sinking before we bought this company! Bill, if it wasn’t for me, Stinger, and Eric, you’d be out of a job!

Borden: We’re mortal men, Bill, we can’t just make WCW the number one promotion over night. You and I both know that. We all have to work together and put in all of our effort is we want to become a serious threat to the WWF.

Goldberg: No, Steve, no. We don’t need to work together! I don’t need to do shit! I am a fucking star, and the best damn thing in this company! This company is a joke, and I refuse to be a part of it any longer! I’m not going to be held down by old timers like you two, Ric and Steve. I’m a real star; I’m heading up north!

Goldberg starts to head towards the exit.

Flair: Good, then get the fuck out of here! This company doesn’t need an over-priced, overrated, no talent, piece of shit like you!

Goldberg arrives at the door, and turns to face the owners.

Goldberg: Fuck this company, and fuck each and every one of you!

Goldberg opens the door, leaves, and then slams it shut. Bischoff yells out to Goldberg on his way out-

Bischoff: I fucking made you, Bill! You ain’t shit!

The room is filled with silence. Most of the talent can’t believe what just happened; Bill Goldberg has walked out of WCW. Finally, after a couple moments of silence, Steve Borden speaks.

Borden: Now look, guys. This company was in the tank when we purchased it from Turner. We all together are going to have to work extremely hard to build up the company’s prestige, and be looked at as a global powerhouse. Right now, we just need to get away for a little while, and try and work out a new television deal with another network.

Flair: Yeah guys, Steve is right. I think all of us, including Steve, Eric, and myself, have been worrying about getting back to being competition with Vince McMahon. And you know what I say to that? Fuck it. Fuck Vince McMahon. Fuck the WWF. Fuck the competition. We are World Championship Wrestling; not the competition of the World Wrestling Federation. We have to start working together to be our own promotion, and not worrying about the other companies in the wrestling industry.

Bischoff: And that is why, effective immediately, World Championship Wrestling is going on hiatus.

Borden: We’re going to be hibernating, if you will, until a new television deal is made. You all may work independent shows if you desire to keep active in the ring, but once a deal is made, you work for WCW, and only WCW.

Flair: Times are tough for this company right now, but WCW will stay loyal to you. We will not fire any of you to try and save money, so we ask you stay loyal to us. If you want to be a traitor like Goldberg and leave the company, then walk. But just remember, this company helped make you what you are today, and this company will stay loyal to you.

Bischoff: And on that note, this meeting is adjourned. Good afternoon, gentleman.

OOC: The voting was tied at A and B on the two forums this is posted at, so I decided to choose A. But yeah, the company right now is in mass chaos with the loss of Nitro, and that is just proven by Goldberg walking out of the company. However, as you will find out later, there is still a nother blow or two to come.

Goldberg Walks Out of WCW!

Quote:
~Monday, May 28- 7:11 PM- We have just received breaking news that WCW star Bill Goldberg has walked out of World Championship Wrestling! Apparently, Goldberg flipped out on WCW Owner’s Eric Bischoff, Ric Flair, and Steve ‘Sting’ Borden during a press conference. Goldberg allegedly insulted the company and the three owners, followed by walking out of the conference. Goldberg has also allegedly been in contact with Vince McMahon already about joining the World Wrestling Federation! This is a huge setback for WCW, as they have now lost their television show, and arguably, their biggest star! To make matters even worse for WCW, Bill Goldberg had just returned at the end of Slamboree, starting a feud with Booker T, and possibly Diamond Dallas Page and Scott Steiner too. Goldberg’s departure from WCW was a direct effect from Nitro being cancelled by the USA Network, claiming that company was a sinking ship.
WCW to go on Hiatus Effective Immediately

Quote:
~Monday, May 28, 7:16 PM- It has been announced on WCW.com that World Championship Wrestling will be going on a hiatus, effective immediately. The hiatus is stemming from Monday Nitro being cancelled by the USA Network late Sunday night/early Monday morning. The company will apparently hold no PPV event, nor any house shows, until a new TV deal can be worked out with a new television network. The company was thinking about trying to run a weekly PPV event, but that idea was then scrapped because of the potential risky-ness of the decision, both in terms of popularity and financially. All WCW contracted workers are free to work independent dates until a new television deal can be made, but will have to cut ties with those independent promotions once a new deal is made. More information as we get it…
More Talent Walks; Another Big Star Heading Out!?

Quote:
~Wednesday, May 30- 3:18 PM- World Championship Wrestling sure has had a horrible past couple of days. After having a “successful” Pay Per View event in Slamboree, the USA Network cancels Monday Nitro, effective immediately. The next day, WCW announces an immediate hiatus, and lose their top star Bill Goldberg. Apparently, WCW is still in complete and total chaos form the loss of Nitro and Bill Goldberg. The talent is frustrated and worried, and it seems Bill Goldberg isn’t the only wrestler to walk out of the company. Don Harris, Road Warrior Animal, Ron Harris, and Terry Funk have all left World Championship Wrestling as well as Goldberg. However, that is not the worst of it. There is a heavy rumor going around that another main event star has left World Championship Wrestling! There has been some speculation as to who the star may be, but the two wrestlers most mentioned are Diamond Dallas Page and Scott Steiner. One of these stars may have in fact walked out of the company, both could have, or neither, but whenever there is news about talent leaving WCW, it will be posted right away!
What WCW Superstar Will Leave World Championship Wrestling?

A) Diamond Dallas Page
B) Scott Steiner

OOC: So is it obvious that World Championship Wrestling is a plagued promotion yet? Because guess what, they are! The loss of Monday Nitro is a catastrophic blow to the company, and that is what I am trying to sell. With losing Nitro, they have lost Goldberg and another huge star, plus other talent. The company is in chaos and is going to have one hell of a time rebuilding. But then again, this is World Championship Wrestling in the year 2001… what else would you expect?

A. DDP. He was the weakest out of all of them in my opnion and you can easily build Stiener vs. Booker without DDP.
