That should possibly be it until Mayhem. Again, keep the prediction contests coming if you wish. Show will be up probably Thursday or Friday.

~Many are currently expecting The Super Cage match at Mayhem this Sunday to get a large amount of time, and “The Trio” are having very high expectations for what the four men can do in the match. Whether or not Booker T, Scott Hall, Scott Steiner, and Sting, can make the Super Cage live up to those expectations remains to be seen, but clearly, The Super Cage match is the selling point for this Mayhem PPV. Fall Brawl, September’s PPV, relied heavily on the War Games PPV, and it had a very acceptable buy-rate for WCW standards, beating the other buy-rates from the 2001 WCW PPV’s. WCW has to be hoping for that to happen again with Mayhem and the Super Cage, this Sunday.
~A match, however, that many are not looking that forward to, is the Italian Street Fight between Big Vito and Johnny Stamboli. The former team called The Mamalukes were on a losing streak for months, and this match at Mayhem is going to abruptly end their feud. The contract between Big Vito and WCW expires at the end of this month, and it is expected that Vito will not be coming back to WCW, as the company has no further usage for him.
~Curt Hennig, who has been off-screen for the past couple of weeks, is set to return at the Mayhem PPV in some capacity. Hennig was first dropped on his head and suffered a concussion in his triple threat match at Halloween Havoc, and then broke his nose at a house show the next night. Hennig has been taken off the road for these past few weeks to recover, but he is expected to make his return, as the nWo member that he’s been, this Sunday at Mayhem.
~Curt Hennig is not the only man who is rumored to be returning to WCW at the show, however. To follow up on the possible Natural Born Thriller angle with Johnny Stamboli, former NBT members Mike Sanders and Mark Jindrak are both scheduled to be at Mayhem. Also, the former valet of Shawn Stasiak, ironically another former NBT member, and also the former Miss Hancock, Stacy Keibler, is expected to be returning to WCW at Mayhem. The blonde beauty has been off-screen ever since the original WCW re-launch in March. Keibler has been doing photo shoots for WCW, as well as appearing in a few acting roles as well. Her future role in WCW, however, is unknown at this time.
~After the Fall Brawl PPV, it was heavily reported throughout the IWC that a scuffle broke out backstage between two of the WCW Owners, Eric Bischoff and Ric Flair. While details are still sketchy on the full reasoning as to why the fight did break out, it was originally rumored to be about Jeff Jarrett becoming the WCW World Heavyweight Champion at Fall Brawl, which rumor had it, Eric Bischoff was heavily against. Now, as rumors continue to circulate as what had happened, it is continuing to be reported that their scuffle broke out over Jeff Jarrett becoming World Champion, but also because of some sort of secret alliance between Jarrett, and surprisingly, Ric Flair, to insure Jarrett became the WCW Champion. Again, these are just rumors and speculation as to why a fight broke out after Fall Brawl between Ric Flair and Eric Bischoff, but there is more support to prove why this could be.
~Ever since Fall Brawl, the on-screen (and off-screen) rivalry between Eric Bischoff and Ric Flair has been turned up a notch, to the point where this Sunday at Mayhem, Ric Flair will take on Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan, with the stipulation that if Flair loses, he will be fired! Some rumors making the round is that Flair actually will lose the match at Mayhem this Sunday, in an effort to isolate Flair from the WCW company. However, this is just a rumor, albeit heavily reported rumor. The problem with this though, is that if Flair were to be ran out of WCW, on-screen and off, it would take away one-third of WCW’s funds. If that were to happen, WCW would have an incredibly hard time staying in business, as funds aren’t large for WCW as is, especially with several sponsors dropping out of the company in the past two months.
~With the rumors going around about Jeff Jarrett having some sort of hidden alliance with Ric Flair to become the World Heavyweight Champion, a large amount of rumors have been circulating that the current WCW World Heavyweight Champion is hated, and the word by some, loathed, by numerous of the men and women apart of WCW. Whether these two rumors are correlated or not remains to be seen, but at this point, it is highly likely that they are, and Jeff Jarrett is a hated man on campus, and probably because of an alliance with Ric Flair to secure him a guaranteed reign as WCW World Heavyweight Champion.
~While Jeff Jarrett has been the man hated, the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Booker T, has rumored to have been at an all-time low in terms of morale. This is a big rumor to be made, as Booker T is a man who has gone through ups, and many downs, with WCW, to a point where he was on the verge of leaving the company before. Again, the reasoning for Booker’s low morale has been rumored to have something to do with this heavily rumored fiasco with Jeff Jarrett, Ric Flair, and Eric Bischoff, but at this point, is still one big rumor, with no concrete evidence to support it. However, depending on the result of the Super Cage match at Mayhem this Sunday, we could possibly be witnessing the beginning of the end of Booker T’s career in WCW.
~As we reported earlier, within the past two months, sponsors Acclaim and Michelin have dropped out of terms with World Championship Wrestling. Both companies were donating rather large sums of money to WCW, and Acclaim also was in the process of signing a video gaming deal between the two. Whether the sudden loss of these sponsors is somehow related to the backstage turmoil rumored to be going around WCW is related or not is unknown, but if WCW continues to lose sponsors, the company will start to dramatically lose money as the sponsors are a rather large percentage of the company’s funds. This situation will be followed closely over the following weeks, in case anything else is reported or discovered.
