Howard Finkel:
Ladies and gentlemen! Please rise, as here to sing America the Beautiful is Florida’s own Brooke Hogan!!!
Brooke sings a great version of America the Beautiful before we cut out to our second video package of the evening before the show kicks off.
The video package starts off slowly as it shows several superstars in the hallways of the prison shoot that took place in real life WrestleMania 23 promos.
Flashing images of Edge’s highlights in the past WrestleMania’s are shown including him climbing the ladders at WrestleMania 2000 to grab the titles with Christian. Shortly after that it shows Edge spearing Jeff Hardy in mid-air at WrestleMania 17. Once more after that Edge is shown striking Chris Benoit in the back with a steel chair before reaching up and grabbing Money in the Bank before the last clip shows last year’s WrestleMania where he forced his brother to tap out to retain the World Heavyweight title.
Edge:
Shawn I’ve made a lot of WrestleMania memories but tonight Shawn not only will I beat you but also I’ll ruin your little “boyhood dream” once again and make this my favorite WrestleMania memory!!!
Edge is shown in the prison holding his hands up and taunting as if he is ready for a Spear. Shortly after HBK comes on the screen staring right into the camera.
Clips of Michaels debut at WrestleMania all the way up to last year’s WrestleMania are shown.
Shawn Michaels:
Edge you don’t impress me! All you do is run your mouth and tonight I end that whenever the Showstopper stops your show.
We see Edge and Shawn Michaels going face to face in clips from the very first time the match was announced for WrestleMania two months ago.
Edge:
There isn’t a thing that you can say or do that will stop me from beating you senseless…
Shawn Michaels:
I promise you I will end your little run on top…
After this we see WWE champion Randy Orton in the prison hallway doing his ever-famous taunt spreading his arms out.

The Undertaker:
Just like the previous ones that have come before him…at WrestleMania…Umaga…will Rest in Peace!!!
We now head into the prison hallway to see Triple H holding his sledgehammer up. Clips of Hunter’s past matches at WrestleMania are shown. Mainly his ones against The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Batista, and Chris Jericho.

It was just bad timing Kurt. I was pissed and you paid the price…
Kurt Angle:
Damn it Hunter! I promise you will not like what you’ve got coming for you at WrestleMania…
Clips of Kurt Angle in the prison are shown with him pulling his straps back and throwing his arms in the air.
Triple H:
Kurt you’ll be lucky if you’re even able to walk out of the arena on your own power when I’m done with you…
Kurt Angle:
Just wait till April first Hunter. You’re not going to be able to walk out because you’ll have a broken frickin’ ankle…
We now head out to see John Cena standing in the prison before he does the Word Life salute.
John Cena:
Finlay you have awoken a beast inside of me…
Finlay:
I won’t back down from a fight…
Finlay is shown standing in the prison wielding his shillelagh swinging it from side to side.
John Cena:
A side that I haven’t even seen before. But at WrestleMania I swear that I will beat the holy hell out of you.
Finlay:
There ain’t a damn chance of you beating me at WrestleMania Cena.
Our final scene of the video of the prison part is shown as Mr. Kennedy is shown holding his hand to the heavens as if he is reaching for a mic.
Mr. Kennedy:
I stole the show last year at WrestleMania but this year I will win my first ever World Championship when I beat you into the ground RVD.
Now we see Rob Van Dam in the prison as he does a spin kick before doing the R-V-D taunt. Right after this we see clips of RVD hitting the Frog Splash on Angle to win the WWE title last year.

The fans are going nuts as the camera pans across the arena before we get a good look at the set up. There is no ramp in traditional WrestleMania as it is just a walkway. The titantron is one of the largest in WrestleMania history as right above it is a rather large WrestleMania 23 logo. After this the camera pans across the arena once more before we situate ourselves in front of the commentating teams!

All six of his other opponents are left lying in or outside of the ring now, as MVP knows this might be it! He makes his way towards the top rung slowly climbing which is to stall time of course. Hardy’s back collides with the mat as well does Haas’s and now all seven men are in trouble!
The fans notice that Mysterio is starting to stir now as he has been down for a while. Little Rey Rey makes his way towards the middle of the ring! Mysterio slowly sets the twenty-foot ladder up in the middle of the ring before he crawls up the ladder a bit slow! Mysterio has taken one hell of a beating in the match tonight as it looks like it might just continue! Shelton Benjamin makes his way up the same side of the ladder that Mysterio is on as Benjamin is going to do his best to prevent Mysterio from grabbing the briefcase. Benjamin sticks his head underneath the legs of Mysterio as Benjamin is still on the mat of course as Mysterio didn’t get too high. Benjamin brings Mysterio crashing down onto the mat with a Powerbomb! Benjamin however is not going to stop there though as he throws a ladder into the corner. MVP pushes Mysterio lightly as Mysterio steps back a bit. Mysterio stares down at MVP now.
MVP:
If you had any guts Rey you’d put that briefcase on the line against me. But I guess not everybody is like me! I know everybody doesn’t make as much money as me! I know that there isn’t a wrestler better than me! And I know that I am the greatest thing to happen to the WWE. But Rey…you put that Money in the Bank briefcase on the line and well then…
