The fall and rise of Jeff Jarrett

In this distance is a television set, it is blank, our view is inching closer to the television. It turns on, the picture is staticky with no clear view of what is being shown. The sound keeps flickering like a radio being adjusted to find the right channel. The screen comes on and a mirage of different images flash across the screen. We see the departures of TNA Originals like Samoa Joe, James Storm, and AJ Styles from Impact Wrestling who then jumped ship to the WWE. Styles can be heard saying that he made the right choice with picking the WWE over TNA. The first few tapings of the new brand Global Force Wrestling is highlighted as four champions are crowned with The Bollywood Boyz, Christina Von Eerie, PJ Black and Nick Aldis. With no TV deal in sight many of the major stars leave for better deals before the show can be picked up, leaving the Internet fans wondering what is the current state of Global Force Wrestling. The signing of Bullet Club members Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson, as well as other NJPW stars like Shinsuke Nakamura to the WWE are shown which was a big miss for GFW as they've been promoting the stable as part of their roster for months. Smoke starts to come from the television, the screen flashes over the images in a rapid fashion. Dixie Carters laugh echoes in the background, growing louder and louder before the television explodes. Jeff Jarrett leaps out of bed, sweat is pouring from his head, his breath is heavy. It is December 27, 2017. His wife, Karen Jarrett rises out of bed, she asks if he's had a bad dream, she puts a hand on his chest. Jeff takes a hard gulp, looks to his wife and says..

"I'm okay, sweetie... I'm okay. It was only a dream.. I gotta make a call.."
Alco likes this.

Jeff is on the phone, the line is still ringing as he paces back and forth in his living room patiently waiting for the other side to be answered.

Jeff Jarrett: Hey, Toby. It's Jeff. I'm sorry to bother you like this so late into the night but I have some stuff on my mind and I'm having trouble with getting back to sleep so I need to get this off of my chest.

The phone call is to Toby Keith, country music singer, friend and business partner of Jeff Jarrett.

Toby Keith: It's three in the morning, Jeff. This better be good.

Jeff is still pacing around the room, still worked up over the dream he just had. It seemed so real to him, almost like a message that was sent to him.

Jeff Jarrett: It's well known that I've left TNA Wrestling. The wrestling business is the only thing that I know how to do in life outside of being a father and a husband. I want to get back into the game, Toby and I need your help. I need you as my financial backer to help me get back up on my feet and to open up a new promotion.

There's a long pause, maybe we was so bored with the proposal that he feel back asleep, or hung up. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity to Jeff he hears his friends voice again.

Toby Keith: If you let me go back to sleep then I promise to back you up on this. If you can do that then I'll see you in the morning and me and my people will see you and your people.

Jeff jumped up into the air, the weight has been lifted off his shoulders. The worst part was now over, running a wrestling promotion was in his blood but finding the financial support was the hardest part. Now with his friend backing him he could start planning and try to keep what happened in his dream from becoming reality.
