Re: The Main Event and Juvy's Rise of Glory

The Raw theme plays throughout the arena and the pyro goes off at the top of the ramp, the camera shows several fans signs throughout the crowd.

Jim Ross: Welcome to Monday Night Raw, we are just six days away from Backlash, and this is going to be a big night tonight right King?

Jerry Lawler: You’re right about that JR, I can’t wait for Backlash and I can’t wait to see what develops tonight

Jim Ross: Later on tonight we will see The Legend Killer Randy Orton team up with the Masterpiece Chris Masters to take on Chris Benoit and the Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin!!!

Jerry Lawler: That has the potential to be a blockbuster match, let’s see how that turns out

Jim Ross: Also tonight, Batista will be in action against an opponent of JBL’s choosing, perhaps slightly unfair but you know King, Batista is the World Heavyweight Champion and he is open to all comers

Jerry Lawler: Batista is happy to face any superstar at any time, that is the sign of a confident champion, but what about the confident challenger, the ball is in his court now we get to see what JBL will do to seize the advantage

“Longhorn” plays throughout the arena to huge heat from the crowd as the limo pulls up at the side of the stage, the driver gets out of the limo and quickly makes his way around to open the door up and as soon as JBL steps out and becomes visible, the crowd give him even more heat, he takes his hat off and raises his arms into the air smiling at the crowd.

Jim Ross: Speaking of JBL…

Jerry Lawler: I’m so glad raw gained JBL, he’s a very successful man and at Backlash we could see a new World Champion JR

Jim Ross: Well JBL also gets to choose the stipulation for the type of match they have at Backlash

JBL climbs into the ring and grabs a microphone from the ring announcer then walks back into the centre of the ring.

JBL: Once again, I arrive here in Minnesota and all I hear about is Dave Batista…

The Crowd Cheers

JBL: But you have to here this one, I heard from a few of the guys in the back once again about the reception Batista got at the local Minnesota airport when we all arrived here, they said it was like a homecoming…

JBL laughs

JBL: As far as I’m concerned it is a homecoming because Dave Batista is like the circus clown and Minnesota is like the circus!!!!

JBL laughs as the crowd give that huge heat

JBL: I am sick to death of hearing about Dave Batista, over the past week ever since he defeated Big Show last week on Raw and how I would struggle to come up with a stipulation to beat him, well let me remind you of one thing, I have beaten The Big Show not once but twice this year, and at Backlash it will be the third time this year that I have faced an oversized, over-rated, unintelligent opponent but for the third time this year, I will prevail

The crowd begin to chant “JBL sucks”

JBL: Tonight you all know, that Batista will be facing an opponent of my choosing, the man I choose to face Batista is none other than my new Secretary of Defence, so let me introduce to you…Matt Morgan!!!!

Matt Morgan’s music plays throughout the arena to a mixed reaction from the crowd as Matt Morgan appears at the top of the stage wearing a black suit similar to JBL’s, he quickly walks down the ramp and climbs into the ring. He then stands next to JBL as JBL begins to speak again.

JBL: This is the man tonight that will defeat Batista, like I will do at Backlash, Matt Morgan will beat Batista within an inch of his life, Matt Morgan will show Batista who the real animal is!!

The crowd gives that heat.

JBL: I am a self made millionaire and I was the longest reigning WWE Champion in the last ten years, I did not do that by luck, I did it by being smart, a man of my intelligence always has a plan, and believe me, I do because this Sunday at Backlash…I guarantee that I will become the World Heavyweight Champion, when I defeat Batista in a…First Blood Match!!

The crowd look stunned by the announcement.

JBL: If you don’t understand it just now, then by the end of tonight I guarantee…you will!!

JBL drops down the microphone as “Longhorn” plays throughout the arena. Both he and Matt Morgan head to the back.

Jim Ross: What an announcement by JBL, a first blood match at Backlash

Jerry Lawler: You heard JBL, JR, he always has a plan and I think there’s a motive to this one, and apparently we will see it by the end of the night

Jim Ross: A shudder to think what that might be, when we come back from this commercial break, there will be a number one contenders match for the tag team championships, William Regal and Tajiri versus The Dudley Boyz, the winners face La Resistance at Backlash when we come back…

Number One Contenders Match
William Regal & Tajiri vs. The Dudley Boyz

Both teams get good crowd reactions throughout the match. The Dudley Boyz work on William Regal for the better part of the match.

Match Ending: William Regal tags in Tajiri who comes in quickly and delivers a spinning wheel kick to D’Von, Bubba enters the ring and Tajiri hits a quick spinning wheel kick on him. D’Von manages to get up first and deliver a hard shot to the back of Tajiri’s head, knocking him down, Regal gets to his feet and runs at D’Von delivering hard left hands to the forehead, Regal takes a step back then runs at D’Von trying the clothesline but D’Von backdrops him over the ropes. Bubba Ray gets to his feet and the Dudley Boyz set up Tajiri, Tajiri gets up and turns around and gets a 3-D followed by the cover from D’Von, 1-2-3.
Winners: and Number One Contenders, The Dudley Boyz!!!

Jim Ross: The Dudley Boyz will face La Resistance at Backlash!!!

Jerry Lawler: Yeah but look who’s here

Jim Ross: Wait a minute it’s La Resistance!!

After the match La Resistance come quickly running down with their flags in hand. They get into the ring and level Bubba and D’Von with the end of the Flagpole, William Regal tries to come in and make the save but he gets hit with the flagpole too, then shortly after Tajiri does too.

Jim Ross: La Resistance doing a number on their rivals

Jerry Lawler: They are sending a message before Backlash JR

Jim Ross: Well at Backlash they will get all they can handle and some more from the Dudley Boyz, now it’s time to go backstage to Todd Grisham who is with Shawn Michaels

We cut backstage to see Todd Grisham standing with Shawn Michaels

Todd Grisham: Shawn Michaels, you requested this interview as you wanted to make an announcement, what might that announcement be?

Todd hands Shawn the microphone

Shawn Michaels: Week after Week, I’ve heard Muhammad Hassan whining and complaining how he was left off Wrestlemania, and how he could’ve beaten Kurt Angle, At the start I just ignored it, thinking it was another big ego

Michaels laughs

Shawn Michaels: Then he made it personal, by attacking me, it’s become clear to me that he wants to use Shawn Michaels as a stepping stone to the big time, he wants to use Shawn Michaels to get himself recognised, well earlier on today I went into Eric Bischoff’s office and demanded a match between Muhammad Hassan and myself at Backlash and he agreed to it…

The fans are heard cheering in the background

Shawn Michaels: Win or Lose, nobody puts on a better Pay Per View performance than The Heartbreak Kid and Muhammad Hassan can complain all he wants but at Backlash for Hassan it’s put up, or shut up!!

Michaels walks away as we cut back to JR and King.

Jim Ross: Shawn Michaels vs. Muhammad Hassan at Backlash

“Just Close Your Eyes” hits throughout the arena to heat from the crowd as Christian makes his way to the ring accompanied by Tyson Tomko.

Jerry Lawler: It’s Captain Charisma!!

Jim Ross: Christian in one on one action against Chris Jericho who will meet Edge at Backlash

Christian (w/Tyson Tomko) vs. Chris Jericho

Match of the night between these two and Edge goes on commentary for the duration of the match scouting Jericho. Christian tries to hit the unprettier on several occasions but Jericho has a counter for it each time.

Match Ending: Chris Jericho tries to go for a clothesline but Christian ducks and Jericho accidentally nails the referee Earl Hebner. Christian tries to capitalize by nailing Jericho from behind but Jericho turns around quickly and scoops his legs away going for the Walls of Jericho but Christian fights away with right hands, Tomko enters the ring over in the opposite corner, he waits on Jericho to turn around and then tries to big boot him but ducks and gets Christian who had just stood up. Jericho quickly knocks Tomko through the ropes and out of the ring and then pulls Christian into the centre and locks in the Walls of Jericho, the referee begins to stir around and sees Christian taps out and calls for the bell. Jericho then stands on the turnbuckle staring at Edge over at the announce table.
Winner: Chris Jericho

As Jericho celebrates going up the ramp, Tomko tries to help Christian up but Christian staggers away from Tomko, looking to be frustrated. Tomko tries to apologise but Christian storms away up the ramp.

Jim Ross: Chris Jericho picking up the win, building momentum heading into Backlash for his Steel Cage Match against Edge

Jerry Lawler: I sense a little friction there between Christian and The Problem Solver Tyson Tomko

Jim Ross: Christian frustrated about losing this match and taking his anger out on Tomko here…

A video plays hyping Backlash featuring Batista and JBL

Jim Ross: Backlash is this Sunday Ladies and Gentlemen, now let’s run down the card, first the main event match, First Blood for the World Heavyweight Championship…Batista against JBL!!!!

Jerry Lawler: JBL has a plan but can he derail the role that the Animal Batista has been on recently?

Jim Ross: We’ll find out this Sunday, also at Backlash one of the most anticipated matches in recent memory, The Legend Killer Randy Orton against the Rabid Wolverine, Chris Benoit!!!

Jerry Lawler: Randy Orton has been on a phenonimal run beating the Undertaker twice in the space of 8 days but Chris Benoit is capable of defeating anyone on any given night, I can’t wait to see it!!

Jim Ross: A great rivalry that has staged many great battles over the past few years has been resurrected here on Raw and it’s time for perhaps the deciding match, Edge against Chris Jericho in a Steel Cage!!!

Jerry Lawler: Chris Jericho has won the Money in the Bank Match, but Edge is ready, he feels he deserves to win this match and take that contract from Chris Jericho!!

Jim Ross: I’m looking forward to that and I’m looking forward to the Texas Death Match, Matt Hardy against Kane, that’ll be a slobber knocker to say the very least King

Jerry Lawler: You’re right about that, I don’t know why Matt Hardy challenged Kane in a match like this considering what Kane done to him last year, maybe he has more guts than brains, I’m picking Kane in this one

Jim Ross: I think you might be right, and in another match announced earlier tonight, Shawn Michaels, the Showstopper takes on Muhammad Hassan who will be accompanied by Daivari

Jerry Lawler: I want someone to shut Hassan and Daivari’s mouth for good and I hope the Heartbreak Kid sees to that at Backlash on Sunday!!!

Jim Ross: In a match I’ve been looking forward to, Shelton Benjamin puts his Intercontinental Title on the line against The Masterpiece Chris Masters!!!

Jerry Lawler: The Masterpiece has been bragging in recent weeks about how nobody can break out of his Masterlock well he’ll get all he can handle from Shelton Benjamin!!

Jim Ross: Also at Backlash, La Resistance defend their newly won World Tag Team Titles against The Dudley Boyz!!!

Jerry Lawler: The Dudley Boyz are the most experienced team in the WWE and were drafted to Raw in the draft lottery, can they dethrone the new champions?

Jim Ross: Now it’s time for a quick commercial break!

“It Wasn’t My Fault” hits throughout the arena to heat from the crowd as Snitsky makes his way to the ring.

Jim Ross: Earlier today Gene Snitsky made the challenge to Kane for a match here on Raw, we don’t know why?

Jerry Lawler: Snitsky might not even know why, look at this guy…

Special Challenge Match
Gene Snitsky vs. Kane

A typical match from these two with a lot of right hands and very few wrestling moves, a brawl basically.

Match Ending: Gene Snitsky kicks Kane in the midsection and goes for a pump handle slam but Kane counters and manages to land on his feet, Snitsky turns around and Kane picks him up and drills him with a Sidewalk Slam. Kane then sits up and then gets to his feet and signals that its over. Matt Hardy begins to walk down the ramp with Viscera to heat from the crowd, undetected by Kane who has grabbed Snitsky by the throat ready to chokeslam him. Viscera enters the ring and Kane turns around and sees him, he lets Snitsky go and begins to exchange right hands with Viscera as the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: Kane

Kane begins to get the better of the exchange but Snitsky delivers a hard shot from behind and then the numbers game begins to come into play, they beat down on Kane in the corner, Viscera walks over to the other side of the ring then runs at Kane and splashes him in the corner, Snitsky pulls Kane out of the corner and delivers a huge pumphandle slam to leave him down in the middle of the ring. Viscera then runs off the ropes and delivers a Splash onto Kane as Matt Hardy enters the ring with a steel chair and a microphone. He puts the chair around Kane’s throat and Snitsky and Viscera pull him towards the corner, Hardy climbs up on the turnbuckle but then taunts the crowd and just climbs back down, he picks up the microphone:

Matt Hardy: You know what Kane, I’ll save this for Backlash, if you didn’t take me as a serious threat, by now you should

Hardy smiles

Matt Hardy: At Backlash in the Texas Death Match, it’s anything goes, and I will do whatever it takes to get the job done Kane and end your career for good!!

”Oh Yeaaah!!!” hits and Hardy leaves the ring followed by Viscera and Snitsky, he compliments them whilst heading up the ramp.

Jim Ross: Now we know why Matt Hardy wanted this match, Matt Hardy has some kind of plan to take out Kane once and for all

Jerry Lawler: Give him credit, that’s one hell of a backup plan by the looks of things…

“Burn in My Light” plays throughout the arena to huge heat from the crowd as Randy Orton makes his way down to the ring in his wrestling attire.

Jim Ross: Here comes the Legend Killer

Jerry Lawler: The man of destiny, the man that defeated the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in history!!!

Orton grabs a microphone from Lillian Garcia then tries to speak but get’s drowned out by the heat from the crowd.

Randy Orton: Some people have been asking me…Why Randy? Why go after Chris Benoit again? You’ve beaten him already…

Orton laughs

Randy Orton: Well that’s true, I have beaten Chris Benoit on three previous occasions, and I will tonight for the fourth time and this Sunday I will defeat Chris Benoit for the fifth time so…on my account along with The Undertaker, that also makes Chris Benoit…Randy Orton’s Bitch!!

Orton smiles as the crowd chant “Orton sucks”

Randy Orton: The reason I want to defeat Chris Benoit again is simply this, the last three times I beat Chris Benoit, the spotlight was on Triple H and the spotlight was on the World Heavyweight Championship, hell people even forget two of the occasions that I beat Benoit, because I wasn’t given enough spotlight well when I defeat him on Sunday it will be all about me, infact after this Sunday I will have almost as many victories over Chris Benoit as the Minnesota Vikings have victories!!

The crowd give that huge heat as Orton drops down the microphone and takes his shirt off as The Masterpiece’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring for the upcoming match.

Tag Team Match
Chris Benoit & Shelton Benjamin vs. Chris Masters and Randy Orton

Great Tag Team match with Randy Orton being hesitant about getting in the ring the same time with Chris Benoit unless Benoit is down. Masters and Orton isolate Benjamin.

Match Ending: Chris Masters locks a front face lock in on Benjamin who tries to get to his corner, Benjamin slowly manages to get closer to Benoit but Masters delivers a hard shot to the back. Benjamin fights up to his feet again and tries to get over to the corner but Masters tries to keep the leverage as much as possible on his front face lock. Then Benjamin musters all the strength he has left to deliver a huge inverted suplex on Masters, which puts Masters over to the corner near Orton. Masters tags in Orton who quickly comes in and grabs the foot of Benjamin but Benjamin manages to jump up and tag in Chris Benoit. Benoit comes in and clotheslines Orton, then clotheslines Masters. Benoit grabs Orton and hits a Suplex and then grabs Masters and hits a German Suplex. Masters rolls out to the apron and pulls himself up in the corner, Benoit whips Orton across the ring and Masters hits the blind tag. Benoit goes for a clothesline but Orton ducks and hangs onto the ropes on the otherside of the ring as Masters delivers a clubbing shot to the back. Benjamin comes back into the ring and clotheslines Orton over the top rope. Benjamin kicks Masters in the midsection and hits the T-Bone Suplex leaving Masters laying spread out in the centre of the ring. Benoit climbs to the top turnbuckle and comes off with a Swandive Headbutt on Masters as Orton heads off up the ramp, Benoit covers whilst not taking his eyes off Orton for the 1-2-3.
Winners: Chris Benoit & Shelton Benjamin

Orton stands at the top of the ramp looking concerned leaving a furious Chris Benoit in the ring staring at Orton.

Jim Ross: Chris Benoit and Shelton Benjamin victorious but will they be this Sunday live on Pay Per View? We’ll be right back after this commercial break.

We come back to see Todd Grisham standing by with Muhammad Hassan and Daivari.

Todd Grisham: Muhammad Hassan, earlier tonight I interviewed Shawn Michaels who said that Eric Bischoff granted his wish to face you at Backlash this Sunday on Pay Per View, what are your thoughts?

Muhammad Hassan: What are my thoughts?

Todd nods his head

Muhammad Hassan: It doesn’t seem to matter what I think around here, you see Todd I wasn’t surprised when I heard that Shawn Michaels had stormed into Eric Bischoff’s office and demanded to face me at Backlash that Eric Bischoff gave him the match, but let me remind you, one month ago I did that exact same thing, I stormed into Eric Bischoff’s office and demanded to be on Wrestlemania, did he grant my wish?

Todd shakes his head

Muhammad Hassan: No, I was excluded from Wrestlemania!!!

Hassan looks at Daivari who shakes his head

Muhammad Hassan: I have not been pinned or made to submit here on Monday Night Raw, yet Eric Bischoff left me off Wrestlemania? Is that fair Todd? No it isn’t but then Shawn Michaels demands a match against me at Backlash and he gets it, that just goes to show the blatant discrimination here in this country, here in the WWE and especially here in Minnesota

The crowd are heard giving heat in the background to Hassan’s comment

Muhammad Hassan: But don’t worry because at Backlash when I face Shawn Michaels, I will do to him what I have done to every other opponent I have faced here on Raw, I will beat him down and I will destroy him, and after then if people around here like Eric Bischoff don’t start to give me equal opportunities…then I will make them

Hassan smiles as Daivari moves into the centre and speaks in a foreign language, Hassan then spits on Todd and then walks off with Daivari.

We cut back to JR and King.

Jim Ross: Muhammad Hassan still complaining about not being on Wrestlemania, well this Sunday he’ll have a chance to prove himself against Shawn Michaels

Jerry Lawler: I can’t wait to see that match, Michaels against Hassan it’s going to be a good one

Jim Ross: But coming up next, two bull’s will collide, a non title match between the World Heavyweight Champion Batista and the Secretary of Defence Matt Morgan. After the final commercial break

Main Event – Non Title
Batista vs. Matt Morgan (w/JBL)

After a shaky start, Matt Morgan manages to gain the upper hand on the champion, despite having the upper hand Morgan never once went for a pin allowing Batista time to recover.

Match Ending: Matt Morgan Irish Whips Batista against the ropes then delivers a huge big boot sending the champion down. Morgan then heads over to the corner and pulls off the turnbuckle pad, the referee tries to get the pad back from Morgan but he throws it into the crowd. Morgan grabs Batista and tries to ram him face first into it but Batista counters and sends Morgan into the steel, Morgan staggers back and Batista delivers a huge spinebuster, then taunts to the crowd. Batista jumps up and screams seemingly shaking off all the pain, he picks up Morgan and signals for the Batista Bomb but gets hit in the back of the head by JBL allowing Morgan to roll out of the ring and the referee signals for a DQ.
Winner: via disqualification Batista!!

JBL delivers several right hands to the forehead then tries to whip Batista across the ring but Batista reverses and sends JBL into the ropes, JBL comes off the ropes and Batista picks him up delivering a hard spinebuster. Batista taunts the crowd but gets nailed in the back by a steel chair shot from Matt Morgan. Batista drops to his knees but stands back up and turns around and Morgan delivers a thunderous shot to the head of Batista leaving a dent in the steel chair. Morgan throws the chair away and gets out of the ring then pulls JBL out. Batista gets back up to his knees but he’s busted wide open. JBL then smiles at Batista as Longhorn plays throughout the arena.

Jim Ross: That was the damn plan, Matt Morgan didn’t want to win this match, he wanted to bust open Batista to create a weakness for JBL to work on this Sunday

Batista stands up pointing at JBL whilst the blood trickles from the open wound in his head.

Jim Ross: Will we see a new World Heavyweight Champion, Will JBL de-rail the Animal, we’ll see this Sunday at Backlash!!!!!

End of Show.

Re: The Main Event and Juvy's Rise of Glory

Sorry about the short reply but here goes

Main Event was solid, Im really liking the JBL-Batista feud, I do think Batista will retain however. Edge and Chris Jericho will be good, Jericho will probably nbeat Edge and take his title shot at Summerslam. Benjamin may finally lose the Intercontinental Championship but Im not to keen on Masters at the time. Chris Benoit vs Randy Orton is great, Orton will kill another legend..............

Backlash Predictions
Randy Orton
La Resistance
Chris Jericho
Muhammad Hassan
Kane( Hardy should be face and use his punisher gimmick instead of hanging around with Snitsky and Viscera)

All in all a solid show, 9/10

Re: The Main Event and Juvy's Rise of Glory

Great show man! Love the Batista and JBL feud. JBL's the main guy that's helping this feud grow. I like that HBK and Hassan are going at it and I understand that you came up with the idea before WWE. I also liked Orton's insults to the fans. Great work!!!

Chat with me via Facebook or Twitter I'd love to hear your opinions!

Re: The Main Event and Juvy's Rise of Glory

-Nice opening with JR and King, realistic, nothing much to note here.

-Another amazing vintage JBL promo, you too have been blessed with the gift of being able to write Bradshaw promos, however many have not. Brilliant stuff. Now if Batista could pull off a promo live that, I’d be VERY impressed. Matt Morgan as the NEW Secretary of Defence is a great way to use him.

-Shame to see Regal and Tajiri disregarded so quickly, as they do make a decent team, hopefully you can bring in some “real” established teams, or just get 2 jobbers together. I personally never consider a tag team a real “team” unless they have a “Team Name”. Should be interesting to see where you go with the tag division. Solid match with a necessary beat down afterwards from La Resistance.

-This next promo was my favourite of the night. I never think HBK has a particular character you can latch on to and develop when writing a promo for him. But If there ever was a “particular character” you sure as heel found it. Direct and full of emotion, this interview just wreaks of HBK-ness, not to mention awesome-ness

-Meh, I didn’t particularly like this booking idea. Jericho/Christian has been done one too many times. But I do like the direction you’re taking Christian and the Coalition in. Dumping Tomko only means good things. Plenty more to come from Christian in the future methinks.

-King and JR running down the Backlash line-up was brilliant. Just how it should be. Nothing to comment on here.

-Heh, Big Vis, Snitsky and Matt Hardy v Kane, wow, you take Hardy out of the occasion and you have the ingredients for one of the worst matches ever. I HATE Viscera. Kane, when used correctly is amazing. Sticking him with Gene and Vis, is not a great way to use him. Matt Hardy needed to come back with his V1 gimmick methinks. Still, reasonable match. Based on a decent storyline from the WWE, I think you are heading in the wrong direction with this. By all means have a Hardy/Kane feud, but remove Big Vis and Snitsky. Get Shannon Moore back

-Another brilliant Orton promo, even if it was a little short. Orton’s character is developing in the way that the WWE did last year with Foley, which is good. Just don’t turn him face. Randy cannot work face and stay over.

-Brilliant match booking here. Orton running away shows his lack of confidence, if he did have that much confidence, he would be face, unless he is dominating monster, which he is not. So Masters taking the beating is a good thing. REALLY looking forward to where you go with this Orton/Benoit feud, hopefully it won’t stop at Backlash.

-Never liked Hassan on the mic, never will. But still, a reasonable promo, still pilling on the heat for Backlash, HBK needs to go on to bigger things after this, and Hassan onto the IC Title scene. Good promo, nothing more, nothing less.

-Main Event went down perfectly. No problems here, you even included Morgan’s green-ness in the ring. Great job Kevveh

Realism – No Bischoff doesn’t seem right, almost perfect though, 9/10

Length –No faults, 10/10

Quality/Entertainment –Great entertainment, just missing a comedy moment, still great stuff, 9/10

Spelling/Grammar –Absolutely perfect, 10/10

Matches/Booking –Sorry, I don’t care how crazy the WWE are, they wouldn’t stick Big Vis and Snitsky in a feud with Kane at the same time, albeit with Matt Hardy in there as well. Also Jericho v Christian has been done too many times, Christian’s character should come out well in weeks to come however, 8/10

Overall a brilliant 92/100
