Raw for June 4th, 2007
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Target Center
Recap Form

The final Raw before KOTR comes to you from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler put over the actions of Number 1 Contender, Kane and say that there’s no telling what is going to happen tonight with the Number 1 Contender. We also are told that tonight in a preview of the King of the Ring, we will see King Booker taking on Bobby Lashley and CM Punk taking on ECW’s Tommy Dreamer. The theme music is still playing when…”MEDAL” hits and Kurt Angle hits the arena to a lot of heat. Angle, dressed in a blue tracksuit enters the ring and gets a mic.

Angle says that this Sunday he is has one goal on his mind. And that’s to make AJ realize that he is inferior to Kurt Angle! The crowd boos the statement as Angle says that AJ might have impressed some of the smarks across the country in carnival shows and on soundstages, but this is THE BIG TIME PLACE! It’s the Main Event if you will! Angle says that all of the credibility that Styles has is going to be done away in an instant, (Angle snaps his finger) JUST LIKE THAT, when Angle locks in the Angle Lock and BREAKS AJ’S ANKLE! The crowd continues to give Angle heat as he continues by saying, he has already put Triple H out of action, and he’s going to do the same to AJ. And after he’s finished taking care of AJ, it’s on to the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP! Despite the fact that Angle is a heel, some give him a good pop for the announcement. However before Angle can continue the music of AJ hits as Styles hits the arena to an enormous pop! The crowd is on its feet as AJ gets in the ring and tells Angle maybe he’s right! Maybe Kurt might just break his ankle. Maybe. Maybe AJ Styles though will break Kurt’s FACE! The crowd responds huge to that line from Styles, as Styles mentions that Kurt can make all of the jokes he wants about AJ fighting at carnivals and soundstages, because the fact of the matter is it was THAT which has made him into the MAN THAT STANDS BEFORE EVERYONE TODAY! Styles says he’s holding nothing back this Sunday and knows Kurt isn’t either. Styles says one way or another this Sunday history will be made! The segment ends with both men looking at each other intently, studying their opponent as they know that in six days…IT’S ON! We cut to commercials!

We come back with the commentators still buzzing over what took place before the commercials. We see highlights of the segment before we hear the music of CM Punk. In the first match it’s CM Punk taking on Tommy Dreamer. The two are given a decent amount of time as this warm up match leading to the PPV this Sunday, allows them to get a look at their possible opponents in the finals of the tournament. Despite being the faster and more athletic of the two, we see that Dreamer remains in control throughout the match. Dreamer works on the left arm of Punk and we see that begins to be Punk’s downfall. Punk begins to make his comeback and even connects the running bulldog. Punk though looks to hit the GTS but Dreamer counters and hits the elbow of Punk. Dreamer then follows it up with the Dreamer DDT! Dreamer makes the cover. 1….2….3! Tommy Dreamer gets the huge win leading into the King of the Ring! Following the match we cut backstage to Todd Grisham. Grisham is with the General Manager of Raw, Jonathan Carter.

Carter immediately mentions that tonight in the Main Event it will be Kane taking on Batista! The crowd pops huge for the announcement as Carter mentions that next week will be the beginning of a tournament in which the winner will face the World Heavyweight Champion for the title on July 14th at Saturday Night’s Main Event! Carter says that he has not seen Kennedy all day but would not be surprised should he show up here tonight. We then see Mickie James walking down the halls. When we come back its Diva’s action as Mickie James will be taking on Jillian Hall. We cut to commercials.

In the second match we see Mickie and Jillian face off in a five minute match. Despite Jillian’s height advantage, she isn’t able to match the skill of James. James with the crowd behind her is able to counter Jillian’s clotheslines with quick right hands, and a high octane offense. The finish comes when Mickie connects with the Mickie bulldog. Mickie makes the cover. 1…2…3! Following the match we see Mickie celebrate before we cut backstage to Batista. Jim Ross then speaks to The Animal from the announcer’s table about his match against Kane. Batista says he’s not intimidated by Kane or his actions as of late. Batista says that he is going to show Kane why he is indeed the most dominant wrestler on Raw. And when he’s finished with Kane, he’s coming to finish his business with Umaga! Ross thanks Big Dave before hyping up the main event for later tonight. However when we come back it will be King Booker taking on Bobby Lashley! We go to break.

We come back and we see the third match of the evening as King Booker takes on Bobby Lashley. Lashley and Booker begin the match with a tieup. Booker cheats to get the advantage and takes the fight to the dual champion. Booker uses Sharmell to remain in control throughout the first part of the match. Lashley begins to build some steam up but is stopped by Sharmell and Booker’s antics. We cut to the first commercial break during the match after Booker sends Lashley right into the steel steps. We come back from the break and we note that Book remained in control throughout most of the match. Booker hits a scoop slam, but takes too long in following up on the move. Lashley moves out of the way and begins his comeback during the match. Lashley a few moments later connects with the spear to King Booker! The match is over! However the ref can’t make the cover as Queen Sharmell gets on the ropes. Sharmell argues with the ref but Lashley has heard enough as he gets to his feet and gets the ref attention. 1…2..and Booker gets the shoulder up. Lashley picks up Booker but Booker counters Lashley and sends him to the ropes. Lashley ducks and Booker goes for a rollup. However Booker counters back and gets a rollup. Booker with the cover but Booker grabs the tights of Lashley. 1….2….3! King Booker steals the match at the 18:54 mark! King Booker’s roll continues as the KOTR is six days away. Following the match we see the quick highlights of the match. We then are given the plug once again of the main event. When we come back though we will be hearing from the Number 1 Contenders for the World Tag Team Champions, America’s Most Wanted! We then go to commercials.

Following the break AMW is in the ring to a good pop. The duo says that since they’ve came to the WWE nearly two years ago they have fought and fought to reach the top of the mountain. However each time they have been stopped and have come short of reaching that goal. However the time now is better than before and the time of AMW becoming the tag team champions WILL SOON BE A REALITY! AMW says that LAX think that they hold all of the power because they are the tag champs, but in reality it is AMW who holds it because they have the title shot opportunity WHENEVER they choose to do so! And AMW has come to an agreement on the date. That date will be….Dawgs hits as the World Tag Team Champions enters the arena to a ton of heat. LAX enters the ring and surround the number 1 contenders. Konnan has the mic and says that the time is not a point because the bottom line is that LAX is the most dominant group the WWE has ever seen and will destroy the team that is AMW! Konnan then smacks Storm. Storm takes the bait and attacks Konnan and the 3 on 2 brawl is on! It’s not long before LAX takes control of the situation. It seems that LAX is going to dominate once again until the crowd gets in an uproar as we see Christopher Daniels rushing down the ring! Daniels comes down to the ring and attacks LAX as Konnan rallies up his group and heads for the entrance way. Daniels and AMW have a long staredown before looking at the three members of LAX! AMW’s music hits as the commentators put over the segment. Following the match we get another plug of the Main Event. We then cut to commercials. Following the break but before we come back to the show, we see a preview of Raw’s new superstar, Cody Rhodes.

We return to the show and we see the fourth match of the evening in which we see Elijah Burke taking on Chris Masters. Despite the size advantage that Masters has it’s not a match that goes in his advantage as we see Burke dazzle the crowd with a lot of aerial moves. The finish of the match sees Burke hit a top rope tornado DDT and get the three count for the win! Following the match we see the announcers enter the ring as they begin to run down the KOTR card. Following that we see a shot of Kane walking down the halls as when we come back it will be the Main Event: KANE VS. BATISTA! COMMERCIALS!

In the main event we see Kane taking on Batista. Kane and Batista are head to head in their moves in the early going. Kane though unleashes some more offense connecting with some clotheslines and some stiff uppercuts. Kane sends Batista to the ropes and catches the Big Man with a big boot to a face. Kane then hits the scoop running powerslam before getting a two count. The crowd continues to be behind Batista as the “Animal” begins to make a comeback. However it’s short lived as Batista is stopped in his tracks by the Big Red Machine. Kane levels Batista with the chokeslam but gets a two count. Kane then goes for a second chokeslam but is stopped by Big Dave. Batista sends Kane to the ropes and floors him with the Spinebuster! Batista is all fired up when Umaga enters the ring and comes at him! Batista ducks Umaga and floors him WITH THE SPEAR! The crowd is on its feet until Batista turns around and is floored with the chokeslam from Kane! Kane then makes the cover! 1…2…3! Following the win Kane then picks up Batista and then hits another chokeslam to Batista. Kane then clotheslines the ref and then leaves the ring. JR and King try to tell Kane to stop but Kane decks King with a right hand. JR is nervous as Kane grabs JR and then tosses him into the ring. The crowd continues to boo Kane with an enormous amount of heat. Kane then picks up JR and knocks off his black hat. Kane then gets ready to chokeslam JR as the crowd is booing Kane like crazy. All of a sudden the music of Ken Kennedy, the World Heavyweight Champion hits to a huge pop, actually the biggest pop of the night. Kennedy dressed in a black tracksuit outfit and a bandage on his face and a neckbrace has a mic in his hand. Very seriously Kennedy states that he has spoken with Carter earlier tonight. By now JR has gotten out of the ring and back to the announce table. Kennedy mentions that after last week he has decided that this match this Sunday needs something special added to it, to make sure that there is indeed a TRUE WINNER! Kennedy says that pinfalls wouldn’t matter, neither would submissions. So with that said Kennedy announces that the World Heavyweight Championship Match this Sunday will be a…LAST…MAN…STANDING…MATCH! Kennedy drops the mic as the two look at each other from far away, neither man take an eye off the other. JR who is still a little shaken up, makes the hard sell for the PPV as this WHC match has just gotten completely personal. The show ends with Kennedy ripping the neckbrace off his neck as the crowd is completely on their feet as the tension for the WHC match is off the charts!

ECW on FX Preview for June 5th, 2007:

ECW comes to you on FX from Minneapolis, as the WWE continues its run in Minnesota. With last week's huge return of ECW Owner Paul Heyman and the Triple Threat Match between RVD, The Big Show, and ECW Television Champion Rhino for the ECW Championship at the King of the Ring made official, what is going to happen with just five days until the big match!

Speaking of which the ECW Television Championship will be on the line as Rhino defends the title against Johnny Jeter. Can Jeter win his first singles title or will the "Master of the Gore" continue his momentum as champion leading into Sunday?

Also last night on Raw, Tommy Dreamer defeated CM Punk in a warmup match leading into this Sunday's final four as the KOTR tournament comes to a conclusion this Sunday. However tonight Dreamer will be in action as he faces off against Smackdown's Chavo Guerrero. Will the self proclaimed "Mexican Warrior" be able to stop the "Heart and Soul of ECW", or will Dreamer continue his winning ways leading into Sunday?

We will also open the show by hearing from the ECW World Champion, Rob Van Dam! It has been an interesting two months for the champion, and what will he have to say just five nights before his first PPV title defense?

All this and much more on ECW! ECW will be posted sometime this week (either tomorrow or Thursday) in recap form!

ECW on FX for June 5, 2007
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Target Center
Recap Form

The final ECW on FX show before the King of the Ring PPV kicks off with the ECW World Heavyweight Champion, Rob Van Dam. Mr. Tuesday Night explains the emotional rollercoaster that he has been on for the last few months, however all of that will come full circle this Sunday. As far as Rhino and Show goes it doesn’t matter who he pins, the fact is he’s leaving Sunday still the champion. Van Dam continues but is interrupted by The Big Show! The Big Show dressed in a black suit says that he doesn’t want to wait until Sunday to fight Van Dam. Van Dam who has been fired up since he has entered the arena at the top of the show, immediately challenges Show for a match here tonight! It doesn’t take Show long to answer as he’s all for it! It’s official! Tonight’s main event will see The Big Show taking on Rob Van Dam in a non-title match! Following the huge staredown we hear Van Dam’s music as Van Dam leaves the ring as Show looks at his opponent with a menacing stare. Following that we get info that when we come back the ECW Television Championship will be on the line as Johnny Jeter challenges Rhino! *Commercials*

In the first match of the night the ECW Television Championship is on the line as Jeter takes on the champion, Rhino. Though Jeter doesn’t have a match this Sunday at the show, a win here can give him his first singles title. Rhino though despite his big title match at the PPV this Sunday, is 100 percent focused on his match right here. Rhino starts the match off with a number of quick clotheslines and suplexes. However it’s not long before the endurance of the challenger begins to kick in, as Jeter levels Rhino with a huge missile dropkick from the top rope to regain control. Jeter remains in the driver’s seat for the next couple of minutes. Jeter works on the neck of the champion as he connects with several neckbreakers throughout the match. Jeter looks to set up his patent capioera kick however Rhino ducks. Jeter crashes on the mat as Rhino gets to his feet. Rhino is begging for Jeter to get back to his feet. Jeter back on his feet turns around and is floored with the…GORE! Rhino makes the cover. 1…2…3! Rhino retains the title! Following the match we take a look at the rest of the card for tonight’s show. However when we come back we will be having an interpromotional Women’s tag match, as Raw’s Beth Phoenix and Victoria take on ECW’s and WWE Womens’ Champion, Lita, and Jazz! We’ll be right back ! *Commercials*

We go right to the second match of the show which is more or less fuel for the WWE Womens’ Championship match this Sunday at the PPV. Despite that in the early goings the two opponents for Sunday don’t interact with each other rather we see them going toe to toe with their opponent partner. However Victoria proves why she isn’t the one to mess with, as she takes the fight to the current champion. Even when Jazz gets involved the two divas are still toe to toe. It’s not long before the match gets out of control and a huge catfight is going on. The finish of the match see Beth connecting the Glamazon Slam on Jazz! Beth makes the cover while Lita refuses to stop the count. 1…2…3! Beth wins. Following the match Lita quickly grabs her title as she realizes that she just might be in for the fight of her career this Sunday in Milwaukee! Following that though the commentators put over what has happened over the past few weeks in ECW. We then get a shot of the Notorious K.I.D., Kid Kash! Kash looks to be heading towards the ring when we return! *Commercials*

Kash comes to the ring and mentions how over the last couple of weeks he has been backing up everything he has about himself and the Cruiserweight Champion, Gregory Helms. Yet he has yet to receive a title shot for the championship. However he mentions that he has been granted a title match against the winner of this Friday’s title match on Smackdown between Helms and Jimmy Wang Yang! Kash says that he’s bout to end the ruin of what has been Helms’ fluke run as a champion, and order will thus be restored to the Cruiserweight division and great wrestling! Following the comments Kash leaves to a bunch of heat. Following that we see Tommy Dreamer warming up. When we come back it will be Tommy Dreamer taking on Chavo Guerrero! *Commercials*

In the third match we see Tommy Dreamer taking on Chavo Guerrero. Despite the fact that this match is kept short, Dreamer and Chavo still are able to keep the fans guessing what will happen next. Chavo uses a lot of mat based wrestling trying to tire out the former ECW Champion. However it’s not to be as Dreamer’s hot streak is not stopping here tonight. After countering Chavo by moving out of the way of a Frog Splash, Dreamer connects the Dreamer DDT. Dreamer makes the cover and gets the three count for the win! Following the win the announcers put over the very real possibility of Dreamer becoming the 2007 King of the Ring Winner! Following that we get the final buildup for the Main Event. Van Dam vs. Show is up next! *Commercials*

The Main Event goes about thirteen minutes with Show and Van Dam throwing caution to the wind and giving the fans a four star match. Since this is ECW anything goes as Van Dam connects Show with a chair shot from off the top rope. Show comes back later by choke slamming Van Dam right on the announce table. Surprisingly the table does not break. However Show isn’t finished as Show tosses the champ into the crowd. The fight continues in the audience with Show in complete control. However Van Dam gets a fire extinguisher and sprays the extinguisher in the face of Show. Van Dam begins to make some what of a comeback. However Show tosses Van Dam back into the ringside area like Van Dam is a rag doll. The finish of this however sees Van Dam connecting with the Frog Splash, but Show kicks out. Van Dam grabs a chair and tosses it at Show. Show punches the chair flat as Van Dam decides to come right at Show. Show floors the champ with a SPEAR! Show makes the cover! 1…2…3! Show has pinned the ECW World Champion! Show begins to celebrate but his celebration is not for long as…RHINO MAKES HIS WAY TO THE RING! RHINO GETS IN THE RING AND SHOW COMES AT HIM. RHINO SIDESTEPS HIM AND FLOORS HIM WITH THE GORE!!! VAN DAM GETS TO HIS FEET AND TURNS AROUND AND IS FLOORED WITH THE GORE AS WELL! THE CROWD IS ON ITS FEET AS RHINO’S MUSIC HITS AS HE HOLDS UP BOTH HIS ECW TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP AND THE ECW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP! Styles and Tazz make the hard sell for the King of the Ring PPV as the show comes to a close!

*End of Show*

Default Re: WWE 2007: The Aftermath and Legacy of WrestleMania

Smackdown for June 8th, 2007

Smackdown starts off surprisingly with an appearance from Hollywood Hogan! Hogan who we have not seen since shortly after his match with Ric Flair at Judgment Day enters the arena to a ton of heat, as the crowd has not forgotten that Hogan might be the person responsible for possibly ending Flair’s career. Hogan has a mic in his hand as he reminds everyone watching that he beat Flair and quite possibly ended his career. Hogan speaks on how he has done it all in this business. A twelve time World Champion and a man who is completely synomous with the terms “wrestling” and “sports-entertainment!” Hogan says that Flair brought all of this on himself and the best thing for Flair to do is stay home and just retire, because if Flair does come back Hogan claims to end the career of the “Nature Boy” for good! Hogan speaks on how this Sunday he doesn’t have a match, but says he’s not surprised, for he has a huge announcement to make! In two weeks time, Hogan announces that he will be facing the WWE Champion whomever that they may be for the WWE Championship right here on Smackdown! Despite Hogan’s actions as of late, the crowd gives a huge pop for the announcement. Hogan says that Teddy Long made a great choice by giving him the title match and he will not disappoint as he leaves Orlando as the NEW WWE Champion! The crowd goes back to booing Hulk as Hogan ends his segment. The commentators run down the card as the crowd is still buzzing about the title match in two weeks! From there we get a graphic that coming up next the WWE Cruiserweight Championship will be on the line as Jimmy Wang Yang challenges the champion, Gregory Helms! *Commercials*

In the opening match of the evening we see the WWE Cruiserweight Championship on the line. Helms who has been champion for the last eleven months seems to be focused as he faces the young upstart in Yang. After starting the match off with various cruiserweight like moves, the champ gains control working over the left shoulder of the challenger. Helms’ main offense here is to keep the challenger grounded and keep his moves limited. However it is shown that it is easier said than done as midway through the match, Yang begins his comeback. Yang fires back with a fury of right hands and dropkicks that sends the champ reeling. Helms tries to connect with “Nightmare on Helms Street” but Yang counters. Yang answers back moments later by hitting his signature moonsault! Yang makes the cover. 1…2…and…the ref is pulled out of the ring by…Kid Kash! Kash picks up the ref and then decks him with a right hand. There’s no ref as Kash enters the ring and picks up Yang and hits the Bankruptcy! Kash then picks up Helms, but Helms hits Kash with the enziguri kick! The ref enters the ring as Helms makes the cover. 1…2…3! Helms gets the win! Helms gets his title but is turned around by Kash. Kash hits the Bankruptcy to the champion! Kash then begins to beat the crap out of the champion, as officials hurry into the ring to break up the melee. Finally Kash is restrained as officials tend to the champion. Kash leaves with a smirk on his face, knowing that his purpose has been made known here tonight. The commentators put over the actions of Kash as we cut to commercials.

Following the break we see what just happened and noted that Kash has left the building during the break. However it is announced that this Tuesday on ECW on FX, ECW owner Paul Heyman will be making an announcement concerning Kid Kash and Gregory Helms! Following that we go right into our next match of the evening. In the second match we see Finlay taking on “The Brian Kendrick!” Since Judgment Day Kendrick has fought once here on Smackdown and that was in a losing effort against Randy Orton. However this time Kendrick seems to be focused as he takes it right to the former WCW United States Champion. Finlay though isn’t one to back down from a fight and shows Kendrick that through a series of chops, slams, and suplexes. However Kendrick proves to be a step quicker than his opponent Finlay, and connects with the “Sliced Bread #2” before getting the victory. Following the match we cut backstage to Kristal who is with CM Punk. Punk mentions that while this past Monday was not a good night for him, all that matters is this Sunday and the King of the Ring. Punk mentions how he thrives off of competition and that this Sunday he’s going to get some good ones. Punk begins to speak again but stops as he sees one of the other final four participants…the WWE Dual Champion…BOBBY LASHLEY! After the initial pop the two have a stareoff with neither man backing down as the screen fades to black for commercials.

Following the break we hear the music of Randy Orton as Orton makes his way to the ring. Orton walks into the ring as we see the highlights of last week’s main event between Orton and Taker. Orton now has a mic as he begins by saying last week was a public message to not just Smackdown but to the entire WWE. Orton says that last week was just the beginning as he promises to put each and every single wrestler on the shelf until he becomes the WWE Champion! Orton says that at Judgment Day he got conned out of the title, but next time that mistake won’t happen again. Orton says that thanks to him the Undertaker won’t be around for quite some time. Orton says with all due respect to Hogan he feels that he should be the one challenging for the title and not him! Orton continues his speech a little more until he is stopped by Teddy Long. Long enters the ring and says that Orton’s actions last week were irephensible and that such behavior will not be tolerated on Smackdown! Long says that he’s not going to give Orton a title opportunity, however next week Orton gets to go one on one with Jeff Hardy! Orton remains calm surprisingly and says next week will be a night that Jeff never forgets! Orton leaves to a bunch of heat. When we come back it will be Shelton Benjamin taking on Charlie Hass in a Judgment Day rematch! *Commercials*

With his big win over Jeff Hardy last week Shelton seems to have gotten a bit of his swagger back as he takes on Hass this week. Hass though knows Shelton almost better than anyone on the WWE roster and it’s not a surprise that Hass is able to counter a lot of Shelton’s moves in the early going. Hass though begins to let his emotions get the better of him. On the outside Shelton reverses an Irish whip that sends Hass shoulder first into the ring post. That begins the downfall for Hass as Benjamin is relentless on his offense from there. The finish sees Benjamin coming off the ropes and connecting with the Benji-Factor. Benjamin makes the cover and gets the three count. Shelton picks up another win, but it looks as if Shelton’s and Charlie’s feud isn’t over as of yet. Following the match we cut backstage to MVP. MVP talks about how last week he beat Matt Hardy, yet no one is giving him any respect about it. Cole asks MVP what he thinks about Kofi Kingston, who will be making his debut in the WWE and on Smackdown in two weeks. MVP says that Kofi is a no body and that everyone should be focused on MVP. Josh asks MVP his thoughts on this Sunday and the three championship matches to take place. MVP says that anything can happen and that Mr. 305 will be there and who knows? MVP smirks as he leaves the set. We cut to commercials. Following the break we return for the next match as we see John Morrison taking on Matt Hardy. The two wrestlers wrestle for six minutes as we see both use their styles to their advantage. The finish of the match sees Morrison connecting with the Starship pain before getting the huge win over Matt. Following the match we see the WWE Champion, Christian. When we come back we will hear from the champ! *Commercials*

The champ enters the arena dressed in all black as the crowd is on its feet. Christian says that in two nights he steps into a match that he feels responsible in making known and famous. However he says unlike the others which featured six or eight individuals, this one will just feature two, and will be for the richest prize in the business: THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP! Christian mentions how this Sunday will be the culmination once again of proving the nay sayers wrong. Christian says that he knows he’s going to feel pain and he’s going to bleed. But there’s nothing that stopping him from leaving Milwaukee without the WWE Championship around his waist. Christian goes to continue his speech when…EDGE makes his way to the ring. The Rated R Superstar is in a serious mood as he immediately says calmly that this Sunday every fan watching will be in store for one of the greatest matches of their lives! Edge says that this Sunday as Teddy says, this right here (points to Christian) this feud…ENDS THIS SUNDAY! This is my last shot and I will not be denied! You can play all of the games and you can say all of the catchphrases but this Sunday I mean complete business! You won that title six months ago in Toronto and since then you’ve proven that your worthy of being champion. But as much as you want to keep that title in your possession, I want to be WWE Champion…THAT MUCH MORE! Christian says that’s fine. That’s all good, but it doesn’t matter because every trick Edge knows, I know better says the champ. We’ve been best friends our entire careers but this Sunday it’s not about friendships. It’s simply about being WWE Champion! And if that means I have to beat the hell out of my former friend, than you better believe I will do that, because THAT’S…HOW…I….Edge slaps Christian across the face! Christian goes to get at Edge and the two begin to connect with back and forth right hands. However Christian comes at Edge and Edge counters with a toss right onto the ropes. Christian turns around and is floored with a spear from Edge! Edge is livid as he picks up Christian who is barely able to stand up. Christian holds onto the ropes and then is hit with a second spear from the challenger Edge! The crowd boos the hell out of Edge as he holds up the title as the commentators put over the possibility of Edge becoming the NEW WWE CHAMPION THIS SUNDAY AT THE KOTR PPV AS THE SHOW COMES TO AN END!

Default Re: WWE 2007: The Aftermath and Legacy of WrestleMania

Raw Analysis:

Angle/Styles Promo: I started the show with this one to really put over the importance of their feud and upcoming match. This has been the toughest program to work with for the PPV because I keep going back and forth with who is going to win the match. Expect this match to be given quite a bit of time at the event.

Dreamer/Punk: This was a KOTR warmup match. I had Dreamer go over because I'm really trying to give him as much crediblity as possible heading into the PPV.

Mickie/Jillian: Simple filler match to give Mickie a win.

King Booker/Lashley: While Lashley has been on a huge roll in this thread, I didn't want King Booker to look weak heading into the PPV, especially since it hasn't been all that long since he was WWE Champion in this thread.

AMW/LAX Segment: To give the feud some buildup. Though I have decided when the match is going to take place, expect the buildup to now have Daniels involved to give him something to do in this thread. Side note: Rhodes will be debuting sometime over the next month (thread time).

Burke/Masters: Just like the diva's match from earlier this was simply done to build up Burke in this thread.

Kane/Batista: Kane was always going to win, I just wanted to continue the Batista/Umaga feud. As far as Kane attacking JR that was just building up to Kennedy's return. The LMS stipulation being added to the match had been planned for quite some time.

**I will edit in the ECW/Smackdown analysis tomorrow or Friday. Also on Friday or Saturday the Preview for the King of the Ring PPV will be posted (in the same fashion as the last couple of previews for PPVs in this thread have been done), followed by the KOTR PPV being posted in extended recap form, sometime next week.**

Default Re: WWE 2007: The Aftermath and Legacy of WrestleMania

T-4 Hrs from the PPV:

The annual King of the Ring PPV is four hours away and right now the locker room is buzzing with rumors and possible spoilers as the road to SummerSlam begins here tonight.

As of now the current plan is for the WWE Championship match to close the match. The TLC match is scheduled to go about 20-25 minutes with right now Christian retaining the title. Management is expecting these two to really give a great match, as this is indeed the final match of the feud.

The World Title match right now is scheduled to take place in the middle of the show. Though management is high on Kane's new character persona, the plan is to keep the title around Kennedy. Expect the match to get at least fifteen minutes.

The ECW Championship match is also expected to be a good match, as management expects a lot of big spots to be taken. Management is high on Van Dam at the moment, so it wouldn't be a surprise should he retain the title. However many have pushed for The Big Show to win as he has been the star of ECW since being "drafted" there back in April.

As far as the KOTR tournament goes, one of the two semi-final matches WILL OPEN the PPV. Though Punk will be in his hometown of Chicago, it's not a certain that he will win the event. Many have been pushing for Bobby Lashley or even Tommy Dreamer. King Booker has been ruled out as it's possible that Book might be taking some time off within the next couple of weeks.

The Women's Championship looks like it will go on early in the card. However managment has yet come to a decision on the finish. Some are saying that Lita will retain, while others are saying Beth will win the title. There has even been talks of a disputed finish to take place to continue the feud into next month.

The Kurt Angle/AJ Styles match is the match that all of management have been watching. Many feel that this indeed the match that will MAKE OR BREAK AJ's Single's career in WWE. Right now a finish has not been made, but it would not be a surprise should Angle win here tonight.

Right now there are no plans for Triple H nor JBL to return tonight, though Triple H is indeed at the arena. JBL who is still out resting his back isn't scheduled to return for at least the next month or so. Stone Cold Steve Austin is also backstage. While the Rattlesnake won't be on the show tonight, don't be surprised to see Austin soon on TV. Finally there is a plan to feature an in-ring promo during the PPV. While some suspect that it might be something from Chris Jericho, nothing has really been said about as of yet.

**OOC: Okay, as usual some of the notes were true while some are just rumors. The PPV will be posted in extended recap form sometime this week. Following this PPV, Raw and Smackdown will be posted in recap form, with ECW being posted in full, or recap w/promos in full. SNME will be for now a Raw/Smackdown event and posted in full, with the ECW PPV, Heatwave, being posted in extended recap form.**

King of the Ring
Sunday, June 10, 2007
Chicago, IL
Allstate Center

We open the show with highlights of the main feuds in the WWE leading up to tonight’s PPV (Edge/Christian; Kane/Kennedy and Van Dam/Show/Rhino). We then see highlights of the final four in tonight’s KOTR tournament. After seeing that we see a throne in which the crown is seated there. Following that we cut to opening intro and pyro throughout the arena. The Chicago crowd is on its feet as Puddle of Mudd’s “Famous” plays over the PA System. The stage is set up with a ramp and two screens on the left and right side, respectively. Also there is a throne and crown and secpter on the left hand side of the stage. ECW’s Joey Styles and Tazz open the show with opening commentary before we kick it over to Michael Cole and Josh Matthews for the opening match in tonight’s PPV.

King of the Ring Semifinal Match:
King Booker(Raw) vs. CM Punk(Smackdown)

We open the show with Chicago’s own, CM Punk, taking on the former WWE Champion, King Booker. The two have had issues over the past couple of weeks, with King Booker stealing a victory over Punk on Raw a couple of weeks ago. Booker, dressed in gold trunks and Punk, dressed in blue, white, and red ala Chicago Cubs, lock up in the middle of the ring. Booker gets the early advantage using his experience in his favor. Book uses some chops to the chest to ground Punk. Punk though comes back with some of his signature kicks and right hands. Punk sends Book to the ropes. Book ducks a clothesline comes back and ducks again. Punk comes back off the ropes and Book hits him with the high side kick. Book continues to work on the left leg of the former United States Champion, as the crowd continues to boo King Booker. Queen Sharmell looks on as Booker locks in a modified Boston Crab to try and make Punk tap. Punk reaches the ropes but barely, as Book is forced to break the hold. Book picks up Punk who is favoring his back, and sends him to the ropes. Punk comes back and is hit with a hard spinebuster. Following that Book makes the cover and gets a two count.

Booker gets back to his feet and sends Punk to the corner. Booker then hits a huge shoulder to the face that sends Punk to the mat. Booker can feel it as he begins to try and end this match. Booker picks up Punk and hits a huge chop across the chest. Book goes for an Irish whip, but is countered and reversed. Book comes off of the ropes and is hit with a quick clothesline. Book is back up and is hit with another one. Back up again and down with another one. Punk feels the momentum as he waits for Booker to get up. Booker gets to his feet as Punk waits for him. Punk comes at Booker but Booker pushes off. Punk goes to the ropes and is slapped as he turns around by Queen Sharmell. Punk turns right around into the Book End! King Booker makes the cover! 1….2….AND NO! Punk gets the shoulder up. Book makes the cover again. 1…2…and NO! Again Punk gets the shoulder up. Booker picks up Punk and goes for a whip to the corner. Punk counters Book with a shoulder block. Book stumbles around before being hit with a leaping clothesline from off the top rope. Punk picks up Book and sends him to the corner. Punk then hits his signature kick to the face. Punk hits the bulldog. Punk is ready as King Booker slowly gets to his feet. Queen Sharmell enters the ring as Punk picks up Book for the GTS. Book inadvertantely though collides with Queen Sharmell. Sharmell hits the ropes and rolls out of the ring. Punk goes for and HITS THE GTS! Cover! 1…2…3!

Tony Chimel: The winner of the match, representing Smackdown, CM PUNK! MT-9:23

Following the match the Smackdown commentators put over the win from Punk over Raw’s King Booker. So Punk will face the winner of Tommy Dreamer and Bobby Lashley’s match in the finals later tonight. We cut backstage and we see Kristal who is with the Number 1 Contender for the WWE Championship, Edge! Edge, who receives a mixed reaction from the smark crowd says tonight is his moment to shine. Tonight an end of an era will indeed take place. The final chapter of the Edge/Christian saga ends with I (Edge) becoming the WWE Champion and winning the most brutal matches the business has ever seen. We then cut to ECW ring announcer, Stephen DeAngelis as its time for the next match on the card as Joey Styles and Tazz are on commentary.

WWE Women’s Championship:
Beth Phoenix (Raw) vs. Lita(champion) (ECW)

The bell rings as the crowd is quite split between both divas. Beth comes right at the champion dominating the opening minutes with Lita staying on the defense. Lita though begins to target the left leg of the challenger to try and get back into the match. Lita’s offense starts to be successful as she seems to have grounded the “Glamazon.” However it’s not long before Beth becomes unstoppable. Lita leaves the ring trying to get counted out, but Beth isn’t going to have that happen. Beth leaves the ring and levels the WWE Women’s Champion with a clothesline.

Beth picks up Lita and rolls her back into the ring. Lita who is out of it is three seconds away from losing the title. 1…2…3…NO! Lita puts her foot on the bottom rope at the last moment. Beth thought she had the match won as she picks up Lita and goes for the Glamazon Slam. However Lita is able to counter. Lita lands on her feet. Lita tries to connect with the Twist of Fate, but is countered and floored with another clothesline from Beth. Beth picks up Lita but Lita gets a thumb to the eye of Beth. Lita rolls out of the ring and snatches her title belt. Lita rolls in the ring and hits Beth with the belt across the back! The ref calls for the bell!

Stephen DeAngelis: The winner of the match as a result of a disqualification, Beth Phoenix! However still the WWE Women’s Champion, Lita! MT-5:07

Beth is furious as she turns around and then levels Lita with a huge clothesline. Beth picks up Lita and connects with the Glamazon Slam as the crowd lets out a huge pop! Beth’s music hits as Lita is helped out of the ring by Jazz. Beth’s music hits to a huge pop. The commentators put over the match and state that this feud is far from over. We then cut backstage to Tommy Dreamer who is with the ECW Owner, Paul Heyman. Heyman says that Tommy is the “Heart and Soul of ECW’ and tonight has a chance to further his legacy as a true “icon and pioneer” in this business. Dreamer notes that his match is not going to be easy, and Lashley might call himself the “Real Deal” but Dreamer says he is the “Innovator of Violence” and will not back down and then finishes with the statement of: I WILL BE THE…KING…OF…THE…RING! Dreamer leaves as we hear his music over the PA System as the third match of the show is about to begin as we hear Joey Styles and Tazz still on commentary.

King of the Ring Semifinal Match:
Tommy Dreamer(ECW) vs. Bobby Lashley(Smackdown) (WWE United States and WWE Television Champion)

The third match of the show sees two stars who have been on the rise lately in the WWE. Lashley and Dreamer who have been on quite a roll as of late meet right now with the winner facing CM Punk in the finals later tonight. Lashley comes at Dreamer but Dreamer sidesteps and begins with a bunch of right hands to Lashley. Dreamer has Lashley in the corner and doesn’t let up. Dreamer goes to send Lashley to the ropes but Lashley reverses it. Dreamer goes to the corner. Lashley comes at Dreamer but Dreamer leaps up. Lashley turns around and Dreamer connects with a right hand that sends the champ reeling. Dreamer then connects with a side suplex slam. Dreamer makes the first cover of the match but is quickly broken up by Lashley. Dreamer picks up Lashley and sends him to the ropes. Lashley comes off the ropes and then Dreamer hits the hip toss and locks in a headlock. Dreamer has the hold locked in for a moment before Lashley begins to mount a comeback. Despite holding the hold on Lashley powers out and hits a huge toss.

Dreamer gets up and is hit with a huge knockdown from Lashley. Dreamer gets to his feet as Lashley comes right at him and hits an overhead belly to belly suplex. Lashley gets to his feet as the crowd is chanting his name. Lashley looks ready to hit the spear as Dreamer gets to his feet. Lashley goes for it but Dreamer counters and sends Lashley to the corner. Lashley holds his left arm as Dreamer quickly gets the rollup. 1…2…and NO! Dreamer can’t get the three count. Following that Dreamer goes to pick up Lashley but Lashley hits Dreamer with some right hands to the stomach. Dreamer tries to fight back but Lashley is at a full vertical base, and then kicks Dreamer in the stomach. Dreamer doubles over as Lashley hits the ropes. Dreamer gets back to a vertical base and sends Lashley to the ropes and hits a drop toe hold. Dreamer gets to his feet and picks up Lashley and hits the Dreamer DDT! Dreamer makes the cover. 1…2..and NO! Dreamer thought he had the three count. Dreamer picks up Lashley and kicks him in the stomach. Dreamer signals for the DDT but Lashley this time counters with a modified spinebuster. Dreamer holds his stomach as he gets to his feet with assistance from the ropes. Lashley favors his left shoulder before he floors Dreamer with the spear! 1…2…3! Lashley vs. Punk in the finals!

Tony Chimel: The winner of the match and advancing to the King of the Ring finals, Bobby Lashley! MT-6:20

Following the match Lashley congrats Dreamer for his effort in the match. Dreamer accepts the gesture and leaves the ring. Lashley celebrates for the moment while holding his left shoulder. The commentators put over how that might be a detriment to Lashley in the finals! Following this we cut backstage to Jonathan Carter, the Raw General Manager. Carter is speaking when he sees King Booker. Carter goes to King Book and asks him what happened out there, and why didn’t he bring the tournament home to Raw. King Book doesn’t have much of an explanation, but says no matter what he wants CM Punk tomorrow night on Raw! Carter says you know what to make it better, it’s going to be a NO DQ, Falls Count Anywhere Match! King Booker switches to his Booker T mode and says he can “dig it.” We then cut over to Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, who are finally getting some face time on the show. The two put over what has happened so far in the show, but says that it’s all business in a few moments, as the World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line as Ken Kennedy defends the title against Kane in a Last Man Standing Match! We then see a the video package for the match before Lillian Garcia does the introductions for the match.

World Heavyweight Championship: Last Man Standing Match
Ken Kennedy (World Heavyweight Champion) vs. Kane

Dressed in blue trunks and sporting a bandage over his forehead, Kennedy rushes the ring with a steel chair and comes right at the challenger as the match begins. Kennedy begins to wile out connecting with several chairshots to Kane. Kane however comes back and puts a huge dent in the chair with a right hand to it. The chair drops and Kennedy comes at Kane. Kane though tosses him right into the corner. Kane unleashes a series of uppercuts that sends the champ reeling big time. Kane then sends an uppercut that knocks Kennedy to the canvas and down to the floor. Kane goes to the outside and lets Senior official, Mike Chioda, begin the ten count. 1….2….3….4….and Kennedy gets to his feet thanks to the barricade. However Kane comes right back and connects with a big boot right to the face of the champ. Kennedy seems to be on Dream Street as Chidoa begins to count once more. 1….2….3….4…and Kennedy begins to struggle to his feet. Kane by now has unloosen the steel steps and has them in his hands. Kennedy gets to his feet at six and turns around and is floored by Kane with the steps right between the eyes! JR is calling for the match to be stopped right then and there as Kane is relentless. Somehow though Kennedy is not bleeding yet but he is down. 1…..2…..3…..4…..5…..6…..7…..8…and Kennedy gets to his feet before the count of nine. Kane can’t believe it as he comes at Kennedy quickly. Kennedy thinking quickly hits a drop toe hold that sends the challenger into the steps face first! The move was a move simply to buy the champ some time as Kennedy is nowhere near a 100 percent.

Kennedy gets to his feet and picks up Kane and connects with a right hand. Kennedy connects with another one before sending Kane into the barricade. Kennedy comes at Kane, but is backflipped right into the crowd. Kane wastes no time in entering the crowd and picking up the champ. Kennedy is hit with a right hand and a forearm to the face as the two are just brawling as they make their way over to some of the cables and production tables. Kane sends Kennedy right onto the table before picking up the cables. Kane tries to choke Kennedy with the cables but Kennedy counters with some boots to the knees. Kennedy gets some room as he gets to his feet and then leaps off the table and somehow takes Kane to the floor with a leaping clothesline! Both men are down on the floor as the count begins. 1….2….3….4….5….6…as Kennedy begins to move around. Kennedy is up at seven and sees a monitor. Kennedy takes the monitor and goes to hit Kane and does! Kane stumbles as Kennedy puts down the monitor and grabs a chair and hits him in the stomach. Kane though is still on his feet. Kennedy comes at Kane and is sent right through a row of chairs. Kennedy clutches his stomach as Kane drags him on the floor as Kennedy tries to break loose. Kane finally stops and picks up Kennedy and tosses him right into a wall. Kane then steps back as Chioda begins the count. 1….2….3….4….5….6….7…and Kennedy gets to his feet.

Kane though becomes relentless connecting with right hands to the face of the champ. Kennedy is sent through a door as the two are now in one of the hallways of the Allstate Center. Kennedy trying to fight back is decked by an uppercut from the champ, as Kane then tosses him onto one of the production boxes with the wheels. Kane then pushes the cart down the aisle right into the gate. Kennedy hits the gate face first and is NOW A BLOODY MESS! The count is started once again! 1….2….3….4….5….6….7….8…and Kennedy gets to his feet. Barely able to see his surroundings, Kennedy sidesteps Kane and then hits a thumb to the eye. Kennedy then fights back with every ounce of strength he has before sending Kane right into a room, face first. Kane hits the door though and Kennedy slams Kane’s face on the door several times. Kennedy then takes Kane and slams him right on the floor. Kennedy grabs a lamp and goes to hit Kane with it, but Kane counters at the last moment and the lamp hits the wall and shatters. Both men escape the damage, but then Kennedy knocks Kane down with a steel pipe! 1….2….3….4….5….6….7…8…and Kane is up again!

Kane can’t believe it as he is livid and throws Kennedy right into the entrance of the parking lot. The fans are going wild as Kennedy is then picked up and is CHOKESLAMMED ON THE HOOD OF A CAR! Kennedy holds his lower back as he rolls off the hood of the car onto the concrete floor. 1….2….3….4….5…6….7….8….9…and Kennedy reaches his feet at the last possible moment! Kane is livid as he picks up Kennedy and sends him right into the windshield of the car! The match has to be over now! Kennedy’s back is a bloody mess as he and even Kane has some of the remains of the glass on them. Chioda begins the count. 1….2…..3….4….5….6….7….8….9…1..and NO! Kennedy refuses to quit. Kennedy is up. Kane comes at him and then sends him onto a truck. Kennedy is in the back of a truck as Kane gets to the back of the truck. Kane picks up Kennedy and looks to hit a chokeslam in the trunk of the truck! However Kennedy counters with a desperation low blow! Kane kneels down in pain, as Kennedy then sends Kane right into the back of the window of the truck, as Kane is a bloody mess now! Both men are down! 1….2….3….4….5….6…and Kennedy gets to his feet. Kennedy kicks out the back of the truck and begins to drag Kane with him as they head back into the arena.,

Back in the arena but not out in front of the crowd, Kennedy hits Kane with another right hand before he sends him right into a cart in the back. Kennedy then proceeds to wheel Kane right up to the curtain, as the crowd begins to get even louder. Kennedy tries to push the cart but Kane counters and then hits a huge uppercut before taking Kennedy down with a huge boot to the face. Kennedy falls back but falls right into the cart. Kane then rolls the cart out onto the stage. Kane though also has a chair and he hits Kennedy in the sternum with it. On the stage Kane looks at the end of the stage and has a sick smirk on his face.

Kane picks up Kennedy and slams him into one of the stage designs. Kane then picks up Kennedy and goes to do it again, but Kennedy sends Kane into this time. Kane turns around and is hit with the “Mic Check” right on the steel set! Chioda starts the count. 1…2….3….4….5….6….7….8….9..and Kane gets to his feet. Kennedy can’t believe it! Kennedy grabs the chair and then comes at Kane, but Kane knocks the chair out of his hand. Kane then grabs Kennedy and tries to chokeslam him off the stage! Kennedy though gets a hand on the swinging camera. With every ounce of energy Kennedy grabs the base of the rig and sends it right into the side of Kane. It hits Kane and Kennedy falls to the canvas as Kane stumbles very close to the end of the stage. Kennedy with a bloody face grabs the chair and hits Kane as he comes at him. JR is going wild on commentary, as Kennedy hits him again with the chair. Kane though will not go down! Kennedy screams “THIS ENDS NOW!” before hitting Kane with the steel chair right in the face! KANE FALLS OFF THE STAGE AND THROUGH THE TABLES DOWN ON THE BOTTOM! The crowd can’t believe it! Chioda begins the 10 count!

Angle though is hit with some right elbows before ducking Styles, and connecting with another side suplex. Angle then gets to his feet still with the hold locked in, and then goes for a third one. However this time Styles counters with a standing switch and takes Angle down with a side slam of his own. Styles though doesn’t keep the hold on as he goes to the ropes and then connects with a senton splash. Styles makes the first cover, but only gets a two count. Styles then picks up Angle and sends him to the ropes. Angle ducks and Styles turns around and is almost belly suplexed out of the ring. Tony Chimel: The winner of the match and THE NEW WWE CHAMPION, THE RATED R SUPERSTAR, EDGE! MT-24:45

Edge is the NEW WWE Champion as surprisingly the audience here in Chicago is giving Edge a standing ovation, as these two put on quite possibly one of the greatest TLC matches of all time. Following the match, numerous officials come down to help Christian, as Edge slowly makes his way down off the ladder. Once getting off the ladder, Edge uses the ropes as a support base for him. Edge holds up the title before rolling out of the ring. Edge can barely stand on his own feet as he stumbles back up the stage set. Edge reaches the top of the stage and holds the title up, and then leaves as Christian is up in the ring now standing. Christian receives a huge ovation as he comes to a realization that he is NO LONGER THE WWE CHAMPION! Christian walks around the ring both inside and out the ring and acknowledge the fans, before heading to the back. The commentators put over what has happened as we see a video once again highlighting the 20th Annual SummerSlam PPV in August! From there we cut backstage and we see Edge walking with a limp with the WWE Championship around his shoulder and we see him stop because he sees…CHRIS JERICHO! Jericho still dressed in a suit has a smirk on his face. Jericho tells Edge to not get used to holding the title because it’s coming home with him this Friday. Edge doesn’t respond except just looks intently at Jericho, as Jericho walks away with the smirk still on his face.

We cut back to the commentators who put over what has happened thus far tonight. We see the ring crew finish cleaning up the ring before it is announced that the Main Event is moments away: The 2007 King of the Ring Final: Chicago’s own CM Punk versus WWE Dual Champion, Bobby Lashley! Default Re: WWE 2007: The Aftermath and Legacy of WrestleMania

KOTR Analysis:

Punk/Booker: Like I mentioned in the news/notes section, Booker really didn't need to win the tournament. Plus with the way he has already beaten the three in singles' matches leading into the PPV, it wasn't a good chance that he would win this match.

Womens' Championship: The finish accomplished what I wanted it to; keep the title on Lita, while also having Beth remain strong in the feud. The attack from Beth after the DQ finish was just to drive the point home more.

Lashley/Dreamer: While Dreamer has been on a big winning streak in this thread, I was never going to put him in the finals of the tournament. It was always going to be Punk vs. Lashley in the finals.

King Booker/Punk's steel cage match on Raw is really just going to be the final match between the two to end their brief feud.

World Heavyweight Championship: This match was always going to go on in the middle of the show, as despite it's buildup, I never felt it deserved the Main Event spot. With that said, Kennedy was always going to retain. The point of this feud was to get Kane over in this thread, which was done, and give Kennedy someone who was more powerful and really stood as an opposition to him retaining the title.

Jericho/Mysterio Promo: Originally this segment was going to be on this week's Smackdown show, but I put it here because I really wanted to get this feud going again, and plus I wanted to have an in ring promo segment take place on the PPV.

Angle/Styles: I've said all along leading into the PPV that this was the hardest match on the card to decide on a winner. When I finally decided that Styles would go over, I had to figure out how to do it, while having both men remain strong in this thread. Styles will be getting a bigger push in this thread, as well as Angle. However it's a good chance that this feud will be taking a break for now.

ECW Championship: Like in the other World title match, the champ was always going to retain the title. Just like the other title match, the build up was to get a challenger built up for the match (Show), while also still showcasing the skills of both the champ, Van Dam, and the challenger in the match, Rhino.

Jericho/Long/McMahon Segment: Honestly it was just there to get the three on camera, and announce the title match for Smackdown, and give Jericho a title shot.

WWE Championship Match: This was one of the best matches for me to write for this PPV, besides Styles/Angle. Edge was always going to win this match. I've been wanting Edge to have the title since Mania, but I decided against it since it wouldn't be right to have Christian have MITB for ten months, only to lose the title two months later. However I felt that KOTR wasthe perfect time to make the title switch. Also like was mentioned in the buildup, this was most likely the last match between the two in this feud.

KOTR Final: This match went on last for two reasons; 1) because of the name of the PPV, and 2) because I wanted to end the show with a face winning the ME. Punk was always going to win the match, despite the fact that it was in his hometown. That fact just put the win over more. However despite it looking like Lashley was a heel in the match, he was not, as he is still a face in this thread.

Raw Preview for June 11th, 2007:

Raw comes to you live from Detroit, MI, as the KOTR has finished and the road to the 20th Annual SummerSlam begins! Ken Kennedy successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship last night and will be in the house as he faces off against the Intercontinental Champion, Umaga in a Champion vs. Champion Match!

Also the first round of the Championship Chase tournament begins as AJ Styles takes on Christopher Daniels!

Also we will also see King Booker take on the NEW King of the Ring, Smackdown's CM Punk inside a 15 foot high Steel Cage Match! These two have traded victories over the other, and tonight the tiebreaker match will take place inside the steel cage!

All this and much more on Raw!

Default Re: WWE 2007: The Aftermath and Legacy of WrestleMania

Monday Night Raw for June 11, 2007
Detroit, MI
Joe Louis Arena
Recap Form

We open the show with the highlights of KOTR (Raw Brand) featuring Kennedy retaining the World Heavyweight Championship and AJ Styles defeating Kurt Angle. Following the V.P. we see the opening video and pyro for Raw. We see the screen graphic for the main event: Champion vs. Champion; World Champion Ken Kennedy versus Intercontinental Champion Umaga. We also see the screen graphic for the 15 foot high Steel Cage Match between Raw’s King Booker and Smackdown and the NEW 2007 King of the Ring winner CM Punk! We then open the show with the music of…STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN! The Detroit crowd is on its feet as the Rattlesnake is seen on WWE TV for the first time since beating Brock Lesnar last month on Raw in Los Angeles. Dressed in his traditional black “Austin” shirt and blue shorts and boots, the Rattlesnake has a mic in hand. Austin says for the past few weeks he has been sitting back at his ranch in Texas, contemplating his future in the WWE and wrestling. Austin says that when he came back two years ago, he did something he thought was impossible. That was being able to compete at a level that he felt acceptable to himself. However when he beat Brock at Mania and last month,Austin himself realized that Ol’ Stone Cold’s time in the ring is running short. Austin continues by stating he doesn’t know how much more he’s going to be doing this, but he admits he knows it won’t be long. Austin speaks about this tournament and the road to SNME, but he says that he’s held the World Championship six times and he wouldn’t mind holding it for a seventh time before leaving. Austin says it’s been six years since he’s last been World Champion, and he says that the time is now for him to win the title. The crowd continues to get behind Austin as he says he is going on one more run and is fixing to raise as much hell as he possibly can, and that’s the bottom line…cause Stone Cold said so! Austin’s music hits as Austin does his signature taunt. JR and King put over the announcement from Austin as he leaves the ring. Austin just put the entire Raw locker room on notice. Watch out! Before cutting to break we are informed that the first match of the “Championship Chase” will take place as AJ Styles will take on Christopher Daniels when we come back!

*Commercials*

If you’re looking for a twenty minute classic between these two during their indy and early TNA days…well it’s not happening. This match doesn’t even go ten minutes, but the quality is still there. Daniels who has shown great improvement over the past few weeks, tries to really make a mark here on Raw, but it’s no stopping AJ. AJ is clearly a step ahead of Daniels throughout most of the match. Daniels does hit the BME though and gets a long two count. However that’s the last big move he hits as Styles counters the Last Wings, and connects with the Styles Clash! Styles makes the cover and gets the three count for the win.

Following the win and brief celebration we cut to Todd Grisham. Grisham is standing with Armando Estrada and the WWE Intercontinental Champion, Umaga. Estrada cuts Grisham off and calls him a “big dummy.” Estrada says that Umaga is going to rip that blonde bleached idiot Kennedy in two tonight and show that Umaga is the true “World Champion” in the WWE! Estrada also says that Batista, next week when the “Samoan Bulldozer” faces him in the opening round of the Champion Chase, he is going to not just beat Batista, but is going to end his career! Estrada takes off his shades and looks at the camera before breaking the cigar in half, as Umaga has a big scrowl on his face as we cut to commercials.

*Commercials*

Before coming back to the show we see highlights of the WWE Womens’ Championship match at KOTR between the champ, Lita, and Beth Phoenix. Lita lost the match via DQ, but retained the championship. We then see Beth connecting with the Glamazon Slam following the match. We return to the ring and we see Shantelle Taylor (Taylor Wilde of TNA) in the ring. From there we hear the music of Beth Phoenix. Phoenix who is no mood for games comes right into the ring and from the moment the bell rings, begins to squash Taylor. Taylor tries to get in one or two moves, but Beth counters them. Beth hits the sit out face slam and makes the cover for the win in 1:37. Following the match Beth gets on the mic and says that this is going to keep happening until she gets her rematch against Lita for the WWE Women’s Championship! Beth drops the mic as her music hits. Following the segment we cut backstage to the World Heavyweight Champion, Ken Kennedy in the locker room. Kennedy is getting ready for his match against Umaga later on tonight when he sees a person enter. The camera pans out to reveal…STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN as the crowd gives a huge pop for this moment!

Austin and Kennedy look at each other for a brief moment before embracing. Austin says he came by to wish Kennedy to give it his all tonight when facing Umaga. Kennedy mentions that he is looking forward to facing the winner of the Championship Chase at SNME and would be honored to defend the title against Steve. Steve appreciates the acknowledgement as the two continue to talk as the audio is dropped as we cut to commercials.

We come back from the break and we see Santino Marella. Santino who is in the ring speaks about how a couple of weeks ago, he defeated Sgt. Parter (Slaughter). Santino continues his bragging over his win until he is stopped by…RON SIMMONS! Simmons enters the ring and Santino begins to mock the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Simmons though isn’t one for talk as he clocks Marella with a huge clothesline before hitting his spinebuster finish. Simmons finish the segment off with his trademark “DAMN” catchphrase as his music hits. Following the segment we cut backstage to LAX, the World Tag Team Champions talking backstage. The stable is talked backstage until…THEY ARE JUMPED BY AMW! AMW continues the attack with LAX until they are broken up by officials and WWE personnel. Last but not least, the Raw General Manager, Jonathan Carter says that we are going to settle this feud between these two once and for all. Despite the ruling of what AMW has from their winning the match a few weeks ago, at SNME, LAX will defend the World Tag Team Championships against AMW in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match! AMW and LAX both agree to the match as we cut to commercials.

We see what has transpired before we to commercial as we now are beginning the second hour. And with the second hour beginning we see the steel cage being lowered down to the ring. The first match of the second hour sees King Booker taking on the NEW King of the Ring Winner, CM Punk! These two have traded victories over the past couple of weeks, including CM Punk beating King Booker in the opening match at last night’s PPV. This is the rubber match between the two. The match is conducted under both traditional and pinfall cage rules. The two lock up with Booker being completely focused following his loss last night. Despite being the favorite, Punk is still showing the effects of wrestling twice last night, as King Booker gets the early advantage focusing over the torso of Mr. King of the Ring. As we head to commercials we see Book hit a huge spinebuster, followed by a two count.

*Commercials*

Following the break we return to action and we see during the break we see that Book nearly escaped the cage but was stopped by Punk. Now back to the action, Punk is in the driver’s seat. Punk hits the bulldog and begins to climb the cage. However shortly thereafter Book is right there following up the cage! Book and Punk continue their fight on the cage before both fall back into the ring.

The finish of the match sees King Booker connecting with the Book End. Booker then decides to mock CM Punk, before picking up Punk and looking to hit the Royal Decree. Booker takes a moment too long before going for the move. Booker misses as Punk comes at Book and hits the clothesline. Book gets up and Punk goes for the GTS. Booker tries to counter and goes to the side of the cage. Booker goes for a missile dropkick from off the rope. Punk moves out of the way as Booker tries to get to his feet. Punk though takes advantage of the situation and picks up Booker quickly and floors him with the GTS! Punk makes the cover. 1…2…3 as Punk wins at the 14:52 mark! Following the match Punk celebrates as he leaves the ring to a huge pop. The commentators though focus the situation as to who Punk is going to challenge for a World Championship at the 20th Annual SummerSlam! Following that we cut to the back and we see Kurt Angle. Kurt Angle is on his way to the ring following the commercial break.

*Commercials*

Medal hits as Angle makes his way to the ring. Angle gets on the mic and says that last night he gave AJ all he could give him. However…LAST NIGHT…AJ WAS the better man! Kurt then says that though that was last night and tonight is tonight. Tonight is the start of the Championship Chase tournament and next week he faces Stone Cold Steve Austin! The crowd gives a huge pop. Angle mentions how Steve mentions how he’s going to raise hell one more time, but he’s going to have to get through the most ruthless wrestler the WWE has ever seen. Angle says though he lost last night, that match birthed a fire that had been missing from him from quite a while. Kurt says that his eyes are locked on winning the World Heavyweight Championship and he will NOT be STOPPED in accomplishing his goal! Angle’s music hits as the commentators put over Angle’s comments. Angle then leaves the ring as we hear the commentators run down what has happened so far this week. JR and King then show the Smackdown Preview for this week, featuring the WWE Championship being on the line: Chris Jericho challenging the NEW WWE CHAMPION, EDGE! Following that we cut to commercials.

We come back from the break and we see the second squash of the night as Kane takes on Paul London. London tries to get in some momentum but its basically useless. Kane finishes the match quickly with a chokeslam and the academic three count for the win at 3:22 mark! Kane who next week will be facing off against King Booker, looks to be focusing on becoming World Champion soon! Following that we then see the screen graphic for the Champion vs. Champion Match which is up next!

*Commercials*

The Main Event goes about twenty minutes with both men going back and forth in their moves. Umaga who didn’t compete last night seems to be in more control, as Kennedy is still feeling the effects of the LMS match from last night. Kennedy though shows the heart of a champion in his will of not giving up. Kennedy hits a huge spinning DDT but only gets a two count. Umaga comes back shortly thereafter with a spinning heel kick that almost knocks Ken out cold. Umaga sends Kennedy to the corner and hits the huge savate kick that sends Ken to the canvas. Umaga then hits the huge collision tackle to Kennedy’s face in the corner. It’s been all Umaga thus far as we go to commercials!

*Commercials*

During the break we see Estrada get involved connecting with some cheap right hands to the face of the World Champion. Umaga sends Kennedy to the ropes and hits the Samoan Driver! Mags goes for the cover and again gets the two count. Mags looks to the top rope as he goes to the outside. Mags goes for the big splash but…misses as Kennedy gets out of the way. Kennedy looks to capitalize as Kennedy goes to the top rope and goes for the Kenton Bomb! Kennedy connects with it! Kennedy makes the cover. 1…2…and ESTRADA PULLS KENNEDY’S FOOT BACK TO BREAK THE COVER! Kennedy slides out of the ring and then chases after Estrada. Estrada then runs around before caught by Kennedy. Kennedy then tosses Estrada in the ring. Kennedy slides in the ring and comes at Estrada, but is attacked by Umaga! Umaga connects with some right hands and then goes for the Savate Kick again. However this time Kennedy moves and Mags hits the ref. Kennedy though is then hit with a low blow by Estrada. The two continue the attack on the World Heavyweight Champion until…I WALK ALONE HITS AND OUT COMES THE ANIMAL…BATISTA! Dressed in a black a-shirt and jeans and boots, Big Dave rushes to the ring and takes down Estrada with a huge spinebuster! Umaga comes at him and Big Dave ducks the clothesline before he hits the SPINEBUSTER TO UMAGA AS WELL! Umaga is down as Kennedy gets to his feet. Kennedy goes to the top rope and goes for the Kenton Bomb once more. Kennedy connects with it! Batista gets the ref to make the cover! 1…2…3 as Kennedy wins the match at the 19:47 mark! Following the match, Kennedy looks over at Batista, who looks back at him before looking at his first round opponent for next week, Umaga! Following that the commentators plug the three huge matches for next week in the “Raw Championship Chase” first round tournament: Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle; Kane vs. King Booker; and the Intercontinental Champion Umaga vs. Batista. AJ Styles already has advanced to the second round with a win over Christopher Daniels earlier tonight. The show concludes with Kennedy and Batista celebrating on the opposite top ropes with the World Heavyweight Championship over the right shoulder of the champion, Ken Kennedy!

Default Re: WWE 2007: The Aftermath and Legacy of WrestleMania

ECW on FX for June 12th, 2007
Grand Rapids, MI
Van Andel Arena

A Change of Momentum?

*We open up the show with highlights of the ECW Championship Match at King of the Ring PPV, in which Rob Van Dam successfully defended the ECW Championship in a Triple Threat Match against both The Big Show and the ECW Television Champion, Rhino. Following that we open to opening video and pyro and Joey Styles and Tazz*

Joey Styles: 48 hours removed from one of the greatest ECW Championship matches in recent memory and the King of the Ring Pay-Per-View, we welcome you to ECW on FX! Joey Styles and Tazz coming to you live from the Van Andel Arena here in Grand Rapids, Michgain! And Tazz with King of the Ring in the books, the road is now clearly to the next big PPV, the ECW only Heatwave!

Tazz: That’s right Joe! Asbury Park, New Jersey is going to be ready without a doubt for this PPV and I can’t wait to go back there. But that’s then, we gotta talk about tonight!

Joey Styles: ECW Owner Paul Heyman has signed on for a huge tag team main event for tonight! ECW World Champion, Rob Van Dam will team up with the “Heart and Soul of ECW” Tommy Dreamer, to take on The Big Show and the debuting Vladmir Koslov!

Tazz: I’ve heard a lot about this Ukraine wrestler and “The Big V” really looks like someone who can take ECW by storm, no pun intended!

Joey Styles: Well a lot to get done here tonight, so lets kick things off with a Number 1 Contender’s Match for the ECW World Tag Team Championships!

*We kick it over to Justin Roberts who does the introductions for the opening match*

Match 1:
Number 1 Contender’s Match for the ECW World Tag Team Championships:
The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley) versus Justin Credible and Steve Corino w/Francine

The winners of this match will face the champions, DH Smith and Paul Burchill for the titles at Heatwave. The crowd is completely behind The Dudleys in this match as Bubba and Credible start the match off. Bubba hits his haymakers early on, but it’s Credible quickness that gives his team the advantage in the early moments. Instead of getting D-Von in the match, Credible and Corino make quick tags to isolate the former WWE Hardcore Champion.

Bubba is sent to the ropes by Corino before he is hit with a huge kick from Credible. Credible makes the cover but gets the two count. D-Von breaks up the fall before he is stopped by the ref. While this is going on the heels continue their attack on Bubba. Bubba using the crowd’s momentum, begins to fight back despite it being a 2 on 1 attack. Bubba sees Corino coming and ducks. Bubba then hits the Full Nelson Slam to him! Credible gets a kick to Bubba. Credible comes at Bubba but Bubba counters with a sidewalk slam to him! Desperately needing to make a tag, both men crawl to their corners. At basically the same time, both men make their respective tags!

D-Von comes in and cleans house as the crowd gets on their feet. Bubba hits the scoop slam before D-Von connects with the “Wasup” headbutt to Corino. The Dudleys look to win this thing as they set Corino up for the 3-D, but Credible gets in and breaks it up. Credible sends Bubba to the outside as the two men brawl. Corino gets back to his feet and tries to take down D-Von. D-Von though counters and connects with the Super Snap Powerbomb, a move he hasn’t used since the original ECW era. D-Von makes the cover! 1…2…3 and the Dudleys are going to Heatwave!

Justin Roberts: The winners of the match and the Number 1 Contenders for the ECW World Tag Team Championships, The Dudley Boyz! MT-8:20

Joey Styles: The Dudleys will be getting their title match in a little under five weeks at Heatwave!

Tazz: You can be sure that these two teams will put on a great match, since it was Burchill and Smith that beat theme for the titles in the first place.

Joey Styles: Well folks when we come back for the first time in quite some time we’re going to see the “Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying Maniac” Sabu in action. We’ll be right back!

*Commercials*

*Haku Blues hits as Sabu with Bill Alfonso make their way to the ring for the next match against some local wrestler*

Tazz:
Sabu making his way to the ring to face local wrestler (Joey Ace-random name) and he looks to be focused.

Joey Styles: Yeah he is one can only wonder what Sabu has been up to in the interim since we haven’t seen him since shortly after WrestleMania in the beginning of April.

Match 2:
Sabu vs. Local Wrestler

And here we have our standard squash match of the evening. Despite being the hometown wrestler, Ace is squashed almost in an instant. Save for a kick or two, Sabu completely destroys the wrestler and makes quick work of him. The note here though in the match is that throughout it Sabu looks up the entrance way by the commentator’s position where Joey and Tazz are located at. However at further notice it’s TAZZ NOT Joey that Sabu keeps looking at. Sabu finishes with the Arabian Skullcrusher and the three count for the win!

Justin Roberts: The winner of the match , Sabu! MT-2:40

Joey Styles:
Sabu wins the match in quick fashion, but why was he continually looking at you throughout the match, Tazz?

Tazz:
I have no idea, Joe.

Joey Styles: We all know the long history between the two of you but it just seemed kind of odd and out of place.

Tazz: Well I’ve been retired for many years Joe as you know. I’m a man who is in pain quite often due to the injuries I have sustained throughout my career in this business that I LOVE! As far as Sabu goes with all due respect to him, I don’t know what the hell his problem is with me!

Joey Styles: Well with that said folks, over the past few months Chris Jericho and Rey Mysterio have engaged in a rivalry that started back at Anarchy Rulz in February in which Chris attacked Rey following their tag team match. From there it escalated to a match at WrestleMania to prove who the better man was. Rey won that match. However the rivalry was not over yet, as the two fought yet again last month at Judgment Day. Mysterio won yet again however due to a Disqualification on Jericho’s part. Jericho had put Mysterio on the injury shelf that night, and for the next month proceeded to gloat about it. This past Sunday, Chris Jericho addressed the audience both at the King of the Ring and at home saying that Rey would never wrestle again. However Rey Mysterio appeared by surprise and challenge Chris to a 15 foot high Steel Cage Match at Heatwave in which Chris accepted! However when we come back folks we will hear exclusively from Rey Mysterio and the emotional cage match that lies ahead in less than five weeks for him! We’ll be right back!

*Commercials*

*March of the Warrior hits as Rey Mysterio makes his way to the ring*

Justin Roberts: Ladies and Gentlemen please welcome Rey Mysterio!

Tazz: It has to be an emotional past couple of weeks and days for Rey Mysterio, as in less than five weeks he will do battle with Chris Jericho in the confines of a steel cage. One can only imagine the emotions that Rey is feeling throughout himself right now.

Joey Styles: Well we might just get a glimpse of that Tazz, since Rey is in the ring right now and has a mic in his hand.

*Dressed in a dark blue denim jean outfit and a LV mask (blue and gold), Rey has the mic in hand*

Rey Mysterio: Two nights ago I entered this ring to confront a situation that has reared its head for the past couple of months. After it was all said and done it was made official that I will face Chris Jericho inside a steel cage next month at Heatwave!

*Huge Pop*

Rey Mysterio: But after thinking about the situation I’ve been questioning myself, wondering DID I make the RIGHT decision?

*Crowd is mixed on the question from Rey. Rey then looks up and at the camera*

Rey Mysterio: But after considering what Chris has put myself AND MY FAMILY through the last few months, I KNOW I MADE THE RIGHT DECISION!

*Huge Pop*

Rey Mysterio: Chris come Heatwave there’s not going to be anywhere for you to run and there’s not going to be anywhere for you to hide! I’m coming right for you!

*Huge Pop as the intensity increases on Rey’s face*

Rey Mysterio: You took a month out of my career that I’m never going to get back! I didn’t know if I WOULD EVER COME BACK BECAUSE OF YOU CHRIS!

*Rey pauses*

Rey Mysterio: But as I made my way into this ring last Sunday and those fans chanted my name, I knew I made the right choice in coming back! And Chris, that’s…A BAD THING FOR YOU!

*Huge Pop*

Rey Mysterio: You made me bleed Chris, and I’m going to make you bleed come Heatwave. I’m going to tear you from limb to limb inside that cage!

*Rey takes off his jacket and throws it to the outside*

Rey Mysterio: Chris, I’m not going to make any surprises or anything like that! I’m TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW, I’M COMING FOR YOU THIS FRIDAY ON SMACKDOWN!

*Huge Pop*

Rey Mysterio: You better worry about me MORE than you worry about the WWE Championship, because I guarantee YOU that I’m going to be your biggest nightmare you ever seen!

*Huge Pop*

Rey Mysterio: At Heatwave I’m coming for RETRIBUTION! I’M COMING FOR RESPECT! AND MOST IMPORTANT, I’M COMING TO FINISH THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL CHRIS! THE TALKING HAS COME TO AN END!

*March of the Warrior hits once more as Rey Mysterio stands in the ring ad mist the cheering crowd*

Joey Styles: REY MYSTERIO LOOKS LIKE A MAN WHO IS FOCUSED AND REFUSES TO BE DENIED! At Heatwave he will be stepping into a steel cage for the most emotional match of his career against Chris Jericho! This isn’t about titles or championships! This is PERSONAL!

Tazz: I’ve known both men for quite some time and as Rey Mysterio goes, I’ve never seen him so focused before ever! This man is ready and Jericho you BETTER have eyes both in front AND back of you this Friday when you challenge the NEW WWE CHAMPION, EDGE FOR THE TITLE, because like Rey said “he’s coming for you!”

Joey Styles: Folks it has been a wild night already here tonight. Don’t forget our Main Event tonight will be the ECW World Champion Rob Van Dam teaming up with Tommy Dreamer to take on The Big Show and the debuting Vladmir Koslov!

Tazz: Koslov looks like one bad man and with Show as his partner, the champ and Dreamer are in for a huge fight here tonight!

Joey Styles: That is indeed true, but coming up next folks The Sandman will be in action when we come back!

*Commercials*

*Roberts does the introductions for the next match*

Match 3:
The Sandman vs. Raven

This is not a long match with the main event still waiting in the wings. However it is still a WRESTLING MATCH! Despite being known for swinging the kendo stick, Sandman at times can show that he can actually…wrestle. Raven as usual brings the wrestling skills as the two trade right hands for the first opening moments, before Raven begins to work on the torso of Sandman. Even with his skills, Sandman is limited in what he can do, as Raven begins to make short work of Sandman. After countering the kendo stick, Raven grabs the stick and clocks Sandman over the head with it. Sandman stumbles back and then Raven hits the Even flow DDT! Raven makes the cover. 1…2….3!

Justin Roberts: The winner of the match, Raven! MT-4:55

*Raven though grabs the mic from the outside*

Raven: I got something to say so everyone listen up. At WrestleMania I defended the United States Championship against CM Punk!

*Cheers for Punk’s name*

Raven: When Punk first debuted in the WWE two years ago, he defeated Billy Kidman to win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship on his very first night with the company!

*Pop*

Raven: However me and him shortly after Mania last year engaged in a year long feud in which I BEAT HIM EACH AND EVERY SINGLE TIME…EXCEPT ONCE!

*Pop from the fans*

Raven: One time! One time! One time!

*Raven continues to say that line as he gets louder with each line*

Raven: PUNK! I know you’re the King of the Ring and you just beat King Booker last night in a cage match, but I’m challenging you to a match at Heatwave! Me versus You! We settle this feud once and for all! You win, you go on and challenge whichever champion you wish at SummerSlam! However…I win…AND I…GET THE TITLE SHOT OPPORTUNITY! What’s it gonna be Punk, what’s its going to be! Quote the Raven, nevermore!

*Raven drops the mic as he leaves the ring with his music playing*

Joey Styles: Raven just laid down a challenge to Mr. King of the Ring, CM Punk! One more time between the two at Heatwave, and the winner gets the World Title shot at SummerSlam! Will Punk accept though?

Tazz: Punk has been through hell and back these last forty eight hours, wrestling three matches in the last two days. However one would not be surprised to hear what Punk has to say about it this Friday on Smackdown!

Joey Styles: I for one am definitely looking forward to see what Punk has to say about this. Well folks when we come back it will be the ECW Champion, Rob Van Dam teaming up with Tommy Dreamer to face The Big Show and the debuting Vladmir Koslov! We’ll be right back!

*Commercials*

*We return to the show showing outside the arena but is quickly taken to the backstage area where we see the WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Gregory Helms and The Notorious K.I.D., Kid Kash brawling. Officials and security quickly come to the scene to try and break it up*

???: ENOUGH!

*The camera pans out to reveal Paul Heyman, the ECW Owner, who looks like he has enough of this drama*

Paul Heyman: ENOUGH! I’M SICK AND TIRED OF THIS DRAMA BETWEEN YOU TWO!

*Pop*

Paul Heyman: I had a feeling you would make your presence known here tonight Helms. So earlier today I made a phone call with Smackdown General Manager, Teddy Long! And after a lengthy conversation we came to an agreement! At Heatwave…Helms you WILL DEFEND YOUR WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST KID KASH!

*Huge Pop*

Paul Heyman: And since that match will be contested under an ECW PPV, then it will be contested under ECW RULES, which means…NO RULES!

*Huge Pop*

Paul Heyman: And Lita, the WWE Women’s Champion, since you are under my company yet hold the WWE Women’s Championship, you will ALSO BE DEFENDING THAT TITLE IN A REMATCH FROM KING OF THE RING AGAINST THE “GLAMAZON” BETH PHOENIX!

*Huge Pop*

Paul Heyman: I don’t make threats. I make promises! And I promise you ECW fans that come Heatwave you’re all are in for one of the biggest nights in the history of professional wrestling, AND one of the biggest nights in the history of. E…C….W!!!

*Huge Pop as we cut to ringside and the introductions are made for the Main Event*

Main Event:
Tag Team Match
ECW World Champion Rob Van Dam and Tommy Dreamer vs. The Big Show and Vladmir Koslov

Van Dam and Show start the match off with Show still heated following his lost at KOTR to Van Dam. Show though starts off with some jabs that Van Dam ducks. Van Dam then hits some kicks and quick right hands to Show. Van Dam makes the quick tag to Dreamer. The two then connect with a clothesline that sends Show to the floor. Dreamer then connects with some elbows to the body of Show. Dreamer makes the first cover of the match. 1…and Show powers out of the cover.

Show then comes back at Dreamer. But Dreamer moves out of the way and then connects with a clothesline. However Dreamer’s attack has little effect on Show as Show tosses Dreamer into the corner, and hits a huge forearm that nearly crushes Tommy. Show then hits an open hand chop to Dreamer. Dreamer falls to the mat. Show picks up Dreamer and then tosses him over the top rope and right to the floor! Dreamer crashes on the outside as Show looks to be in control. Can Dreamer and Van Dam regain their momentum as we head to commercials?

*Commercials*

We come back from the break and we see during the break that Show and the debuting Koslov are showing that are indeed a dominant team. Dreamer is still in the ring and is being manhandled by Koslov. Koslov shoots Dreamer to the ropes and hits a huge running powerslam that almost knocks Dreamer out of his boots. Cover. 1…2..and Dreamer kicks out. Dreamer though needs to make the tag as Dreamer gets up and goes to the ropes. Dreamer though blocks a right hand and hits one of his own.

Koslov starts once more but is countered again. Dreamer starts to get some momentum going as he hits the ropes. However Koslov is waiting for him as he hits a huge sitout face buster to Dreamer. Cover. 1….2….and Van Dam breaks it up. Show enters the ring and is stopped by the ref. Van Dam goes to the outside and then comes back into the ring and leaps off the ropes and throws a chair at Show. Show catches the chair as Van Dam pulls a page out of Jericho’s book and hits the dropkick to the face of Show and the chair. Show falls off the top rope and to the floor.

Back in the ring Dreamer sees Koslov coming at him but Dreamer pulls down the ropes and Koslov goes over the ropes and to the outside. Dreamer then surprisingly goes to the outside and takes down Koslov with a huge cross body. Dreamer gets back up and tosses Koslov back in the ring. Dreamer then waits for Koslov to get in the ring. Koslov gets up and Dreamer hits him with a right hand. Dreamer goes for the Dreamer DDT but Koslov counters. Dreamer counters back and hits the Dreamer DDT! Dreamer makes the cover. 1…2…and NO! Show breaks up the count.

Here comes Van Dam. Van Dam leaps at Show who begins to brawl with him. Show though tosses Van Dam to the side. Dreamer grabs a hold of the chair and swings at Show, but Show counters by punching the chair! Dreamer is caught by Show, but then hits a low blow to Show. Koslov comes by Show and misses a clothesline. Dreamer hits a huge clothesline as both men need to make a tag.

Dreamer makes the tag to Van Dam as does Koslov to Show. Van Dam comes back at Show, and Show tosses him to the corner. Show takes a right hand to Dreamer. Dreamer holds on and then decides to unhook one of the padding on the turnbuckles. Van Dam though is heading in that direction, but counters and sends Show right into it. Show collides on the mat. Koslov comes at Van Dam but is countered by Dreamer and goes to the outside again.

Van Dam goes to the top rope but Dreamer makes the tag. However Van Dam doesn’t realize it, but the ref does indeed. Van Dam hits the frog splash! Dreamer gets in the ring and makes the cover. 1…2…3!

Justin Roberts: The winners of the match, the ECW World Champion, Rob Van Dam and Tommy Dreamer! MT-16:23

Joey Styles: Van Dam and Dreamer win the match but one can wonder how happy Van Dam really was that Dreamer scored the winning pin.

Tazz: However the fact remains Van Dam and Dreamer did indeed win the match.

*Van Dam and Dreamer look at one another but we hear the music of ECW Owner Paul Heyman*

Tazz: OH MAN! Heyman is out here! What’s about to happen?

Paul Heyman: Congratulations on your victory tonight gentlemen. Folks, I was going to wait until next week to make this announcement but I feel that it should be said now! *Show ends with Van Dam and Dreamer still looking at one another, but with Van Dam raising the ECW Championship up high. Dreamer takes a look at the title as the screen fades to black*
