Re: WWE 2005: The Aftermath of WrestleMania 21
Been wanting to hit you up with a review for a while now, so here goes. Also, this BTB has been incorporating WCW, and if there’s any company that I am more fond of than ECW, we all know it’s WCW.
So on that note, get the basics down please. Tony Schiavone is his name, not anything else.
-My problems with the opening problem was mainly that JBL was too repetitive with his insults. Same old stuff, time and time again. Also, don’t bring out unnecessary information, such as Shawn Michaels/Sid from over 10 years ago. The fans won’t remember that, nor care about it. It just makes you seem as someone who wants to wow people with information no one cares about. Furthermore, the grammar, wording, & spelling was really poor. You’re supposed to be a top booker; simple things like this shouldn’t be in your shows. The rest of the segment was fine itself with the brawl and such. But the dialogue was definitely repetitive, and overall, I’d say a bland segment. No real edge to it, although I think the poor grammar and repetitiveness solidified that opinion.
-I have no problems with Styles going over Kennedy, fine decision, and the match would have been nice to watch. AJ/Matt should be good, and since it could be a rivalry rekindle-er, should be a fun time. However, read the last 7 or so sentences of that write-up. Short, choppy sentences. Add some of those together instead of the excess choppy stuff, please. Makes the write-up look worse than what it should be.
-Again, the promo was really rather bland. Maybe it was because it was a Woman’s feud, I’m not sure. No edge to it, was flat.
Also, please stop calling it StarrCade. It’s always been Starrcade.
-I’m cool with Cena squashing someone on Raw, but if you’re going to it, have the simple creativity to use an enhancement talent, a bottom Raw guy, or SOMETHING! Don’t just do the ‘Local jobber’ routine. That’s so obnoxious to read. And also, were you trying to have a set rhythm to Cena’s rap? Some lines were rhyming, others weren’t. Nevertheless, you might want to revert to the new style Cena, aka, no raps. . It was the first promo that wasn’t generic, however, the flow was iffy and it just didn’t work for me.
-If you have a problem with Kurt Angle being a representative of WCW, raise your hand? *Raises hand*. Exactly. Terrible choice, makes no sense. Have an actual former WCW guy representing the faction in this big feud with McMahon. This is just silly. Also, I like you incorporating The Fink into the segment, but the way you did it was so rushed and out of nowhere, it was a ‘WTF’ moment for me to read. Also, there are sooooo many people better than Fink to Vince’s boy in this segment, off the top of my head, The Stooges… and your execution with Fink started off good, but became very dull as time went on. This is an angle that SHOULD have been the best of the night, and a real top segment in all of BTB for the month, and instead, you turned it into a boring and flat segment. Tons of possibilities, but ended up generic. Finkel talked way too much, especially seeing as you made his dialogue so boring. Add on a rushed and forced ending, and this is a huge disappointment.
-Hardy and JTG… nothing exciting about it, but served a purpose.
-The Foley/Flair stuff was clearly your best work of the show, however, could have been more. You don’t do the simple, little, easy things, and it hurts. You should be adding in some comma’s (where they belong, of course) in your promos, and adding in question marks, either to replace some of the exclamation points, or have the two together. It’s the little things that great writer do. You’re not doing them. I’m fine with the adding in the historical bit this time around, i.e. the Foley and Snuka thing. That’s fine with me… the Sid/HBK thing though had no relevance. People actually remember Foley and the Snuka Splash. Also, I think you made this segment go longer than it needed to. The extra stuff after they agreed to the match, should’ve been done for another show. Hype it in doses over time, not over kill in one segment. And the finishing each other’s catch phrases at the end… was just silly and retarded.
-No problems with Mickie winning over Victoria. Easy and solid decision.
-Another lengthy promo in the ring… over doing it now. This is what… the 4th one now?? Take it easy, killer. Promo wasn’t anything too special, but served its purpose in hyping up the match at Starrcade. However, I really hate how you’ve seemingly made me feel the WCW/ECW/WWE feud is worse than the real-life Invasion angle in one show. You know why? It’s 2006 in-BTB time, and it’s not a central storyline of the show. Why have a monumental storyline, if it isn’t treated like one? That’s just silly booking. And as much as I’d like to see WCW go over, ECW has to go over at Starrcade. Can’t have WCW become a company, that’d just be a horrendous decision.
-I really do have to laugh at Shelton Benjamin, a bland and uncharismatic wrestler, in DX. That’s just such a contradiction. Nevertheless, main event is solid, and HBK getting the clean pin on JBL should equal JBL keeping the Belt at Starrcade, unless you’re looking to bury JBL. Staredown to end the show, and that’s it.
-Overall, show dragged on… felt like it should’ve ended 2-4 segments sooner. I don’t know if it’s because the show was rushed or because it was after the PPV, or maybe this is just how your stuff has always been and I never gave it a real read, but this show was really bland. Every promo was pretty much either bland/generic or it’s execution was off. The simple things were nonexistent, and overall, just not a show I was expecting from someone whose supposed to be of your caliber. Hopefully the next one will see improvements. Don’t take it personal or anything, because you’re a cool dude and all, but this was just lacking… big time.

Re: WWE 2005: The Aftermath of WrestleMania 21
Raw Feedback:
Opening promo was...well a mess. Saw a few spelling errors that really hurt the flow of the promo. Not only that but it seemed JBL was more worried about spitting off his catch phrases. First off, it's "I smell like smoke because I've been through fire" is the catch phrase he uses.
Styles getting the win kinda comes out of nowhere. Not much buildup for this match at all really. I don't really remember the feud from here way back then.
Wow, pointless interview to be honest. All of less than a minute is what that would have shown on TV. I'm however thinking Mickie taking the title is a possibility but really, anything is possible. I'm going to side with Lita though just to play it safe for Starrcade.
Meh, no comment on Cena beating the jobber. Rap was something normally you would hear from Cena tbh. Nothing really special that I spotted in it.
Now onto the Angle promo. I'm kinda with Nick on this one. It's kinda random to just see Howard Finkel appear on Raw when he is never on it. I understand the point about being a long-tenured employee but other than that, there really wasn't much of a reason or explanation. Kinda random.
Wow, almost 12 minutes for JTG/Hardy. Haha, anyways doubt Cryme Tyme takes the titles. I can't say they won't but really, I seriously doubt it happens. I don't know much about this feud so don't know why these two teams are feuding.
I don't think I've ever seen anything like that in BTB before. Flair and Foley were playing all nice in the ring first. Then all of a sudden they start yelling at each other out of nowhere. Ruined the promo completely as really, I can't picture them being buddy-buddy, accepting a match and then just magically hating each other. Definently a strange ending to a promo.
Mickie picks up a huge win rolling into Starrcade. Not really surprising at all considering she's in the title match.
Bischoff promo was rather short but one of the better promos of the night to be honest with you. I can't really say who will win and I think it would be better should ECW win but there definently is a possibility ECW wins so who knows.
Um, looking at the main event, I could definently see there being D-X vs. The Cabinet 4 on 4 in the near future before Starrcade. Anywyas, moving on. No really "special" ending to the show, just the Sweet Chin Music and bam, it's over.

Re: WWE 2005: The Aftermath of WrestleMania 21
First off thanks to Jacky17, SZUM, and KOP for the reviews for Raw. Here is the Raw Analysis:
JBL/Michaels Opening Segment-This was just to continue the feud between the two, as this is the first time in the feud that the two have had an in ring promo or a promo with both men involved in the segment. Jacky17, the Cabinet was just brought back into this thread, back on the November 20th, 2006 Raw in this thread, and the members are JBL, Scott Taylor(aka Scotty 2 Hotty), Sean Morley(aka Val Venis), and Jamie Noble. The Shawn Michaels/Sid comment from JBL was in reference to the fact that the crowd turned on Michaels at the Garden during their title match from Survivor Series 96' and since Starrcade is in that same arena and JBL is billed from being from NYC, the same might happen again, since Michaels is entering the match more or less a face in this feud.
Styles/Kennedy-Styles was always going to win this match, as this match between Hardy and Styles is a match that I wanted to write for quite some time again in this thread. KOP, the feud between Hardy and Styles was one of the main feuds back in this thread around September 2005. Also it was the feud that always saw AJ come close to winning the IC title, but never getting the title win against Hardy.
Mickie James Segment-While the Mickie James' segment was really short, it was simply done just to have the match announced for Starrcade.
Cena/Jobber-Obviously Cena was winning the match. The rap though was a throwback to Cena's rap gimmick. However there's a good chance that for the rest of the feud that Cena won't be rapping in his promos.
Angle Promo-This was a promo simply to get more heat on Angle. Szum, as I mentioned before in this thread, the Angle/McMahon feud goes beyond the WCW/WWE feud. This is simply between Angle and McMahon. This is simply about Angle feeling that he was misused during his time in the WWE and about Vince fighting for his company and what he believes in. The reason why The Fink was used, was more or less the same reason why Ross was used in the segment on last week's show. Both Ross and Fink are two long tenured employees, and both are known or/and have been known as employees who have been seen in the WWE as an on-air personality. Also, it was an easy way to give Angle more heat heading into the huge match. KOP, while Fink is usually not on Raw in this thread, if you read some of the joint PPVs in this thread, including the Survivor Series PPV posted a couple of pages back in this thread, The Fink is there announcing some of the matches.
Jeff/JTG-Jeff was always going to win the match. This Raw was written about three and half weeks ago, and this was simply done to set up the tag team title match between the two teams. The feud started when Cryme Tyme won a Number 1 Contender's Match on the November 27th Raw in this thread. The tag team title match between the two teams will be on the December 11th Raw.
Foley/Flair Segment-The purpose of this segment was obviously to set up the match for Starrcade. The promo though was written in the way it was written because while Foley and Flair are rivals, I wanted to show that there were some respect between the two for one another. Also, I wanted to show that with the two finishing the other's catchphrases, that while they have some respect for one another, they still can't stand want another, and want to prove, that they themselves are the better man in this feud.
Mickie/Victoria-Mickie was always winning this match, as it would not make sense for Mickie to lose this match heading into Starrcade.
Bischoff's Promo-This was basically done just to continue the WCW/ECW feud, and to give more heat to Bischoff. Szum, the WCW/ECW/WWE feud is the top feud. The card for Starrcade is finished. There are 11 matches for the event, and it will be a four hour show. So far nine of the eleven matches have been announced, with the other two being announced on the upcoming Smackdown, which will be posted tomorrow. With that said though, even with a Hell in a Cell match, a rematch between two of the top wrestlers in this business (Cena/Austin), a final match between two legendary wrestlers (Foley/Flair), and two World Title matches, the main feuds in this thread are still the WCW/WWE/ECW feuds, which are the 4 on 4 Elimination Match and the Angle/McMahon street fight.
Main Event-That was simply to put Michaels over some more in this feud. As for Shelton being in DX, that was done to put Shelton over some more in this thread.
WWE News and Notes:
Management seems to be very excited about the buildup for StarrCade. It has been announced that the final Raw before Starrcade will take place from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City! Also it has been announced that the final Smackdown before Starrcade, will take place at the Kemper Arena, in Kansas City, MO! Those two venues were the host for the first Raw and the first Smackdown (non-pilot).
There have been talks of the Elimination Match to be about 25-35 minutes in length, as management has been very high on this match. In addition there have been talks of whether the Hell in a Cell Match or the Street Fight match should conclude the event.
The Cena/Austin match is being rumored to be about 20 minutes, as both men are looking forward to wrestling a better match than their match at Summerslam.
Finally there have been talks of having a new champion being crowned at Starrcade.
Smackdown GM Teddy Long will be annnoucing the WWE Championship on Smackdown.
Smackdown Preview for December 8th:
Smackdown comes to you from Augusta, Maine! Uncensored is now in the history books as King Booker thanks to some unlikely help from Batista defeated Chris Jericho and The Undertaker in a Triple Threat Elimination Steel Cage Match to remain the WWE Champion.
Scott Steiner defeated Christian in Match 5 to win the Best of 5 series at Uncensored and will face Christian in a Falls Count Anywhere Match at Starrcade with the Money in the Bank contract. What will Big Poppa Pump have to say about his victory and his upcoming match with Christian?
Jeff Hardy defeated MVP at Uncensored to become the NEW United States Champion. What will the "Highest Paid Athlete in Smackdown History" have to say about his title loss?
Brian Kendrick and Paul London also became champs as they defeated Billy Kidman and Nova to become the WWE Tag Team Champions once again at Uncensored. The new champs will be in action in a non title match against Finlay and William Regal.
Finally what will RVD have to say following his and Sabu's victory over Rated RKO at Uncensored, and the comments made by Eric Bischoff and Team WCW on Raw?
All this and much more on Smackdown!
Smackdown is done and will be posted tomorrow in full!

Re: WWE 2005: The Aftermath of WrestleMania 21
Smackdown for December 8th:
Augusta, Maine
Augusta Civic Center
*Uncensored Highlight Video Package is shown and features Jeff Hardy winning the United States Championship, Steiner winning the Best of 5 Series against Christian, Londrick winning the WWE Tag Team Championships, RVD and Sabu winning the No Holds Barred Match and finally King Booker retaining the WWE Championship after the Batista Bomb from Batista to Taker allowing King Booker to exit the cage and remain the champion, followed by opening video and pyro*
Michael Cole: Uncensored is now a thing of a past as we are just sixteen nights away from the biggest night in the history of sports-entertainment! We welcome you to Smackdown! Michael Cole and Joey Styles here tonight representing WWE Smackdown and ECW respectively. The Augusta Civic Center here in Augusta, Maine is on its feet!
Joey Styles: As the road to StarrCade continues here tonight, I’m sure that tonight is going to be a huge night for all three brands involved!
*I Walk Alone hits and out comes Batista with a black a-shirt and a gray pinstripe suit with black shoes and shades. Batista does his signature pyro taunt to a huge pop with some boos from the audience as he gets into the ring and gets a mic after some signature taunts to the audience*
Batista: Last Sunday at Uncensored, was exactly what I said it was!
*Pop with some boos*
Batista: It was a statement and a small example of what is going to happen inside Hell in a Cell at StarrCade! Undertaker, this isn’t about titles. It never was about titles. This was about who is the better man!
*Huge Pop*
Batista: You see Taker, me and you have brawled and fought since you came over here to Smackdown. You beat me with a low blow at King of the Ring, back in June, and I beat your ass sent you taking a break back at Summerslam! You come back at the Survivor Series and chokeslam me after my match. I come to Uncensored and give you a Batista Bomb!
*Huge Pop*
Batista: You see the fact is this. Whether you Taker, these fans, the boys in the back, anyone who doesn’t understand, this is the point. The point is that come StarrCade inside a cell that you have made individuals famous for, you are going to get your toughest challenge. You are going to get a person who is as good as you are, if not better!
*Pops followed by some heat for the last comment*
Batista: I know that what I just said might have raised some eyebrows, but that is nothing more than facts!
*Some more heat surprisingly on Batista*
Batista: Undertaker, I’m not one of these people who are going to be scared of your mind games, of your voice coming over the PA System, or you being accompanied to the ring by twenty druids. I am here, and I am ready to…
*Graveyard Symphony (Electric Guitar) hits and out comes The Undertaker back to his retro Summerslam 1998 look to a nice pop*
Michael Cole: The Undertaker who was one of the two men chosen to face King Booker for the WWE Championship inside the Triple Threat Steel Cage Elimination Match escaped the first elimination and almost won the WWE Championship until Batista entered the cage and attacked him.
Joey Styles: The eyes of The Undertaker tell the story here Cole. The Undertaker means business!
*Undertaker pulls out a mic from his jacket*
The Undertaker: You see Batista. Batista, last Sunday you made the biggest mistake of your career by interfering in matters that have no dealing with yourself. You involved yourself in a situation that need not called of your presence, but it was your presence that was seen regardless. At Hell in a Cell you will see why I am The Undertaker, the conscience of the WWE.
*Some heat*
The Undertaker: You said that you are not scared to step into the ring against I, the Pheonmon. You’re not afraid to bleed and to bear witness to the pain that the cell brings forth. Batista, this is your first time entering Hell in a Cell! (Note: This thread started in April 2005 and at Vengeance 2005 in this thread the Main Event was a War Games Elimination Match) You’re entering inside a match where I have made people famous and I have ended careers. You are entering inside the match where the “Ruler
of Darkness” reigns supreme. Look at the careers that I have made famous throughout Hell in a Cell!
*We see a video highlighting Taker’s impressive matches inside the Cell including his match with Shawn Michaels in the first Hell in a Cell in October 97’, the Mick Foley Hell in a Cell at the 1998 King of the Ring, the Armageddon Six Man Hell in a Cell match in December 2000, the Hell in a Cell Match against Brock Lesnar at No Mercy 2002, and the Hell in a Cell Match at Unforgiven 2005 against Shawn Michaels*(The Unforgiven 2005 Hell in a Cell Match against Shawn Michaels took place in my thread) are shown as the video comes to an end with a picture of the Hell in a Cell and Taker on top of the cell from KOTR 98’*
Batista: You think that intimidates me? You think that scares me! Well it doesn’t!
*Huge Pop*
Batista: At StarrCade, I’m stepping into a match that I never been inside of, but against a person who ass I have kicked once before and will do so once again!
*Huge Pop as Batista gets in the face of Taker*
Batista: At StarrCade inside Hell in a Cell, I am going to kick your ass and prove once and for all that I…Am the Better MAN!
*Batista drops the mic as his music hits once again as the two have a staredown before Batista leaves to a huge pop*
Michael Cole: I have to say Styles, this is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Hell in a Cell matches in WWE history!
Joey Styles: You have two world class athletes who have accomplished a lot in this business set to meet inside the Devil’s Playground, Hell in a Cell come StarrCade!
Michael Cole: Well we still have a lot to go here on Smackdown!
Joey Styles: We’ll be right back!
*Commercials*
*Chimel does the introductions for the match*
Match 1:
Bobby Lashley v. Gregory Helms
At ringside at the commentary booth is the Television Champion, Shawn Spears who will be facing the winner of the match at StarrCade for the Television Championship. Back inside the ring both men start the match out with some quick moves, however it is not long before Lashley takes control of the match. Lashley hits some of his power moves on the Cruiserweight Champion, and almost looks to have the match won, when Helms begins his comeback on Lashley. Helms connects with a series of his signature moves and looks to go for the Vertabreaker, but Lashley powers out. Helms sends Lashley to the ropes in the finishing moments of the match and goes for a clothesline and misses. Lashley comes back off of the ropes and hits the spear on Helms! Lashley makes the cover and gets the three count for the win!
Tony Chimel: The winner of the match, and the NEW Number 1 Contender, for the WWE Television Championship, Bobby Lashley! MT-7:17
*Lashley gets up after having his hand raised and turns around and is hit with a huge clothesline from Spears. The crowd boos Spears as he picks up Lashley and connects with the Breadwinner to Lashley to even more boos as the champ then taunts the challenger with the championship before leaving to more boos from the audience as Cole and Styles put over the segment as we then cut backstage to Kristal Marshall*
Kristal Marshall: At this time, I am standing here with ½ of the World Tag Team Champions, and the NEW United States Champion, Jeff Hardy!
*Huge Pop as Jeff steps into the camera view*
Kristal Marshall: Jeff, I have to ask you how does it feel right now, as you and your brother Matt over on Raw, are the only two dual champions right now in the WWE!
Jeff Hardy: Well Kristal it feels amazing right now. Like you just mentioned, my brother Matt, is the other half of the World Tag Team Champions over on Raw and is the Intercontinental Champion as well, and along with my tag team title and this NEW United States Championship, it’s all well right now to be quite honest.
Kristal Marshall: My next question…
Person: Well, well, well. Look who we have here!
*The crowd boos as it is the former United States Champion, Montel Vontavious Porter, MVP who steps into the camera view with a brown suit on and shades to a bunch of heat*
MVP: Congratulations Jeff Hardy. The Charmastic Enigma as you would call yourself. Last Sunday was nothing more than a fluke victory! A joke. A faux pas if you will.
*Crowd boos*
MVP: I admit it, that MVP had a bad night. Everyone does. However with that said, if you think that I ain’t coming back for MY title you’re wrong!
*Crowd boos*
Jeff Hardy: Your title? As far as I can see this name plate on this title reads…JEFF HARDY!
*Huge Pop as the camera gets a close up shot on the name plate*
Jeff Hardy: But hey you know what, if you’re so willing to claim that Uncensored was just a joke, how about you face me in that ring one on one for the United States Championship, right here, tonight!
*Huge Pop from the audience*
MVP: You know what…I would…But as you can clearly see I don’t have my ring gear with me here tonight.
*Boos from the audience*
MVP: However Jeffery, I will be more than glad to claim my rematch clause against you next week right here on Smackdown for MY United States Championship, that YOU stolen!
*Huge Boos from the audience*
Jeff Hardy: Fine! Just don’t make no excuses when I beat YOU in that ring next week and retain this United States Championship that I beat YOU CLEANLY, 1-2-3 FOR, ONCE AGAIN!
*Huge Pop from the audience as we go to a commercial break as the two look at one another*
Michael Cole: Welcome back to Smackdown folks. This past Sunday at Uncensored we saw Scott Steiner face Christian in Match Number 5 in the Best of 5 Series between the two men!
Joey Styles: Last week on Smackdown we found out should Christian lose at Uncensored he will have to face Steiner at StarrCade in a Falls Count Anywhere Match in which his Money in the Bank contract will be on the line!
*Clips of the conclusion of the match is shown*
Michael Cole: Well as we saw Christian lost thanks to Steiner hitting him with the Brass Knuckles and at StarrCade those two will meet one more time to conclude their near five month feud with one another inside a Falls Count Anywhere Match with Christian’s Money in the Bank contract on the line as well!
*Chimel does the introductions*
Match 2:
Scott Steiner v. Local Jobber
This is just a squash match to put over Steiner some more in this thread and this feud. Steiner connects with some clotheslines, Suplexes and does some push ups during the match to gain heat from the crowd. The jobber gets in some kicks to the legs and torso of Steiner, but Steiner comes back and hits a clothesline before locking in the Steiner Recliner for the submission win!
Tony Chimel: The winner of the match, Big Poppa Pump, Scott Steiner! MT-3:11
*Steiner then goes and demands for a mic*
Scott Steiner: Cut the damn music off!
*Huge Heat as the music is stopped*
Scott Steiner: Last Sunday I accomplished what I said I was going to do. And that was beat Christian in the ring 1-2-3! I told each and every single one of you idiots who sit on your couches with your jelly donuts and your soda that won’t get off their fat asses and head to a gym or do a push up! And in case you fatsos forgot what a push up is this is one of them!
*Steiner then does five push ups to a bunch of heat*
Scott Steiner: Now where was I! Oh yeah, Christian. Christian, listen to me you scrawny little snot nosed punk. What happened to you last Sunday at Uncensored was an understatement to what is going to happen to you at StarrCade! Falls Count Anywhere! Madison Square Garden! StarrCade, the place where Scott Steiner is known throughout the world. It is also the place where your Money in the Bank contract comes home to the genetic freak, Big Poppa Pump!
*More Heat*
Scott Steiner: But I don’t think you fans understand me. Christian is going to lose. He doesn’t get it though. He’s a nobody. A never was. Hey you, yeah you, you think Christian is going to win?
*Steiner steps out of the ring and over to the fan*(The fan is a plant)*
Scott Steiner: You really think Steiner is going to win?
Fan: Yes.
Scott Steiner: Okay.
*Steiner goes to leave but then pulls the fan over the barricade and attacks him and then puts him in the Steiner recliner as the crowd boos the hell out of Steiner. Steiner keeps the hold locked in for a few more moments before the crowd begins to let out a huge pop. Steiner breaks the hold and turns around and is hit with a clothesline from Christian. Christian picks up Steiner and connects with some right hands, as Steiner tries to get away from Christian. Steiner is pulled from off the barricade and is sent into the steel post. Steiner falls to the mat and is picked up and rolled into the ring. Steiner gets to his feet and gets in some right hands to Christian. Steiner goes for a huge clothesline but misses and is kicked in the groin. Christian then connects with “The Classic” and then gets a mic*
Christian: Steiner, Big Poppa Pump, at StarrCade, this Money in the Bank briefcase is staying with the Captain! And you will see once and for all, (points to the briefcase as the audience joins in) That’s…How…I…Roll!!!
*Huge Pop as Christian’s music hits once more*
Joey Styles: The historic conclusion to these two huge feud comes to an end in just sixteen nights!
Michael Cole: Christian seems ready and he is going to show Steiner that he is the rightful owner of the Money in the Bank briefcase!
*We see a limo arrive and we see that is Smackdown General Manager, Teddy Long, who receives a huge pop*
Josh Matthews: Mr. Long, what is the announcement that you have to make?
Teddy Long: Josh, just like everyone else, you will find out that announcement at the conclusion of this show. Now excuse me playa, I have some business to attend to. Holla holla!
Michael Cole: Teddy Long has a huge announcement concerning the WWE Championship Match at StarrCade! I wonder what it is going to be!
Joey Styles: Well when we come back we will see the NEW WWE Tag Team Champions in action, Brian Kendrick and Paul London! We’ll be right back!
*Commercials*
*Chimel does the introductions*
Match 3:
London v. Finlay/Regal
The match starts off with Kendrick and Finlay. Kendrick and Finlay exchange some holds and moves before Finlay gets the advantage. Finlay then connects with some right hands before beginning to showcase his skills as a wrestling technician. Finlay connects with some forearms and continue to work over the back of Kendrick before making the tag to Regal. Regal enters the match and continues to work over the back of Kendrick. Regal though is countered by Kendrick, and Kendrick strings together a series of moves to attempt a comeback but is stopped by Regal once more. Regal makes the tag to Finlay, as London tries to get the fans into the match. Finlay continues his offense on Kendrick once more until Kendrick connects with an spinning heel kick to the face of Finlay. Kendrick makes the desperation tag to London as London enters the match finally and begins to clean house in the ring. Regal reenters the match and London continues his offensive moves on Regal as the match builds towards the end. The finish sees London hit a running knee to the face of Regal followed by the Standing Shooting Star Press and then the three count for the win!
Tony Chimel: The winners of the match, the WWE Tag Team Champions, Brian Kendrick and Paul London! MT-12:22
Michael Cole: The NEW WWE Tag Team Champions, Brian Kendrick and Paul London show right here why they are the NEW WWE Tag Team Champions!
Joey Styles: What a win for Londrick!
Voice: Congratulations!
*The crowd boos as the camera pans out to the former WWE Tag Team Champions, Billy Kidman and Nova!*
Billy Kidman: That’s right congratulations are in order for your NEW WWE Tag Team Champions, Brian Kendrick and Paul London!
*Crowd boos Kidman’s sarcastic remarks*
Billy Kidman: But all jokes aside, you two better hold onto those tag team titles because they’re coming back to us!
*Crowd continues to boos*
Nova: You see we have a rematch clause for those titles!
*Crowd continues to boos*
Nova: And we’re going to cash in our clauses for them.
*Huge Pop*
Billy Kidman: Just not here tonight!
*Huge Heat on the crowd*
Billy Kidman: You see we don’t care what you people here think in Augusta!
*Cheap heel heat*
Billy Kidman: However in two weeks time we will challenge for those titles on what will be the final Smackdown ever to take place. It will be take place right in Kansas City, Missouri, the site of the inganural WWE Smackdown, and the site of the end of the reign of Londrick as the WWE Tag Team Champions!
*Huge Heat*
Nova: One more thing though. The stipulation will be a 2 out of 3 falls match!
*Mixed Reaction*
Billy Kidman: So hold onto those titles. Because come two weeks, this rivalry between us two teams will come to an end, and only one team will be the WWE Tag Team Champions, and their names are Nova and Billy Kidman!
*You Can Run hits once more as the two look at the champs from the stage as the crowd continues to boos as Cole and Styles put over the huge announcement**We then cut backstage and we see Rob Van Dam*
Joey Styles: Well when we come back, Rob Van Dam will be addressing the audience! We’ll be right back!
*Commercials*
*One of a Kind hits and out comes Rob Van Dam to a huge pop from the audience as RVD is dressed in a black ECW shirt and black shorts and black and white sneakers and has a mic in his hand*
Tony Chimel: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Rob Van Dam!
*Van Dam enters the ring and then lets the “RVD” chants continue before getting ready to speak*
Rob Van Dam: Dudes thank you!
*Huge RVD chant begins*
Rob Van Dam: You dudes are freaking awesome!
*Chant continues*
Rob Van Dam: Last Sunday at Uncensored, we showed these fans and everyone else what ECW is all about!
*Huge Pop as an ECW chant breaks out*
Rob Van Dam: And you know what, I hope Bischoff and his crew were watching because that is exactly what is going to happen to them come StarrCade!
*Huge Pop*
Rob Van Dam: You see dudes and dudettes, I spoke to Paul E. earlier today, and he told me that he will be in ATL this Monday night and will announce his team for StarrCade!
*Huge Pop*
Rob Van Dam: And let me remind you one thing about the mad scientist, he knows what he is doing!
*Huge Pop*
Rob Van Dam: You see Eric, these fans here tonight in Augusta, they know it. I know it. Mark Yeaton, the time keeper knows it, Joey Styles definitely knows it. ECW is back and you better believe that just like before we are going to continue to kick ass and take names!
*Huge Pop*
Rob Van Dam: Eric, every time you took a star away from ECW, we had another one lined right up to take ECW right back to the top of the mountain!
*Huge Pop*
Rob Van Dam: Back when ECW had our very first PPV, you tried to regain the advantage over ECW, and put Nitro the next night in Philadelphia! Well guess what, once again your plan backfired right back into your face!
*Huge Pop*
Rob Van Dam: This Monday night, you better be ready Bischoff. I don’t give a damn that 50,000 plus fans will be inside the Georgia Dome. It doesn’t mean a damn thing to me nor ECW. We will continue to kick WCW’s ass all over your so called home turf!
*Huge Pop*
Rob Van Dam: Realize this. This is the beginning of the end of WCW. At StarrCade, there can only be one winner!
*Huge Pop*
Rob Van Dam: And that winner will be…
*Crowd chants out E-C-W*
Rob Van Dam: E-C-W!
*Huge Pop as Van Dam hands the mic back over as the promo ends to a huge pop*
Joey Styles: Michael Cole, ECW refuses to back down! ECW has never been one to back down from a challenge, and you better believe that we will not be doing so now!
Michael Cole: Well Joey, this Monday night ECW steps into the “home turf” of WCW.
Joey Styles: That doesn’t mean a damn thing, because ECW unlike WCW are not cowards, and not afraid to steal the spotlight, as we did it to the WWE back at Hammerstein Ballroom a few years back, and we’ll do it again!
Michael Cole: Well when we come back, it will be Carlito taking on the self proclaimed “Sublimity of the WWE”, John Morrison!
Joey Styles: We’ll be right back!
*Commercials*
*Chimel does the introductions*
Match 4:
John Morrison v. Carlito
The two are given a decent amount of time around seven minutes and the two put on a good match with very little dull moments in the match. Carlito controls most of the first half of the match with his unorthodox moves. However in the finishing moments of the match following a DDT and a series of close two counts, we see Carlito going for the Back Cracker but Morrison countered with a low blow that the ref saw and DQs Morrison!
Tony Chimel: The winner of the match as a result of a Disqualification, Carlito! MT-7:33
*Morrison picks up Carlito and connects with the Corkscrew Neckbreaker to more heat as the crowd boos Morrison once more as Morrison’s music hits once again and the crowd is livid*
Michael Cole: John Morrison couldn’t beat Carlito here in this match, so he intentionally gets himself disqualified and then connects with the Corkscrew Neckbreaker following the match.
Joey Styles: Well these fans certainly do not like the actions of the self proclaimed “Guru of Greatness!”
*We see the Smackdown General Manager, Teddy Long walking down the hallway*
Michael Cole: Well when we come back, we will hear from the Smackdown General Manager, Teddy Long!
Joey Styles: We’ll be right back!
*Commercials and Raw Rebound is shown*
*The End is Here Plays over the PA System*
Michael Cole: Welcome back to Smackdown folks! Raw, Smackdown, and EA Sports presents WWE Starrcade! Starrcade comes to you from Madison Square Garden, in New York City, New York! What a card it is so far!
Joey Styles: Over on Raw, the World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line as Shawn Michaels challenges the World Heavyweight Champion, JBL!
Michael Cole: JBL was hit with Sweet Chin Music twice on Raw this past Monday Night. Will the Showstopper once again become the World Champion at Starrcade. Over here on Smackdown, the Television Championship will be decided as Shawn Spears defends the title against Bobby Lashley!
Joey Styles: Spears successfully defended the title at Uncensored and here tonight Lashley defeated Gregory Helms for the right to face Spears for the championship at Starrcade. Also at Starrcade, the WWE Women’s Championship will be on the line as Lita defends the title against Mickie James.
Michael Cole: Mickie James announced this past Monday on Raw, that she will be using her rematch clause at Starrcade against Lita, who successfully defended her title against Victoria at Starrcade! Also at Starrcade, it will be a Falls Count Anywhere Match between Christian and Scott Steiner. The winner of this match will become the Money in the Bank holder!
Joey Styles: Steiner won the Best of 5 series at Uncensored therefore this match will take place. Christian won the Money in the Bank contract back at WrestleMania 22 in April, and his guaranteed title shot will be on the line come Starrcade. Moving back over to Raw, John Cena will face the Rattlesnake, Stone Cold Steve Austin!
Michael Cole: Austin returned to the WWE back at the Survivor Series, after being injured by Cena following their match at Summerslam. This is a personal rivalry between the two, that will be settled once and for all at Starrcade. Also from Raw, as announced, this past week on Raw it will be the Hardcore Legend, Mick Foley taking on The Nature Boy Ric Flair!
Joey Styles: These two legendary wrestlers will fight one more time inside the World’s Most Famous Arena to see who the man truly is! Four on Four Elimination Match, the winner stays, the loser is gone! WCW v. ECW! Michael, as you and everyone else saw earlier tonight and at Uncensored, ECW is back and ECW is going to kick the hell out of WCW at their own greatest PPV!
Michael Cole: That match is going to be epic nonetheless. Also the Intercontinental Championship will be decided as Matt Hardy defends the championship against AJ Styles!
Joey Styles: This past Monday on Raw, Styles defeated Mr. Kennedy to win the title shot against Matt.
Michael Cole: These two have a storied history between one another. AJ has never defeated Matt at a PPV for the Intercontinental Championship or for the championship or any match at all between the two. Also at Starrcade, another feud will come to a close at The Undertaker faces Batista inside Hell in a Cell!
Joey Styles: This rivalry between the two have been going on since April and come Starrcade, it will be concluded inside the most barbaric match in the history of this business!
Michael Cole: However it’s all on the line here folks! A New York City Street Fight between Mr. McMahon and Kurt Angle!
Joey Styles: If Mr. McMahon loses, just like the theme song for Starrcade, the end will be here for the WWE!
*MacMillitant hits and out comes the Smackdown General Manager, Teddy Long in a black suit to a huge pop as Long enters the ring and gets a mic*
Teddy Long: I ain’t got much time so it’s time to get right down to business. So far ten matches has been announced for StarrCade. However there’s one more match to be announced. And that match is the WWE Championship!
*Huge Pop*
Teddy Long: After much talk with some of my colleages, I have come to the conclusion that at Starrcade, the WWE Championship will be on the line as King Booker defends the WWE Championship against…
*Royalty hits and out comes the WWE Champion, King Booker with Queen Sharmell in a blue suit and a red gown respectively to a bunch of heat from the crowd as King Booker wastes no time entering the ring not doing his normal entrance as he gets a mic as he enters the ring with Sharmell*
King Booker: Teddy, dawg, tell me you did not just say that, I, King Bookah, will be defending the WWE Championship at Starrcade!
*Huge Pop*
King Booker: Teddy, that is nothing more than balderdash and you know that someone as established and dignified as yours truly is worth more than having to subject myself in this ring against some unworthy rogues!
*Huge Heat*
Teddy Long: Well Booker…
King Booker: That’s King Booker, Thaddeus!
*Huge Heat*
Teddy Long: Watch it playa! As I was saying, Booker, at Starrcade, you will be defending the WWE Championship against…
*Break the Walls Down hits and out comes Y2J Chris Jericho to a huge pop with a hockey jersey and black pants as he enters the ring and gets a mic*
Chris Jericho: Welcome to Smackdown is Jericho!
*Huge Pop*
King Booker: What the hell are you doing out here peasant!
*Huge Heat*
Chris Jericho: Well I’m here to shut your assclown mouth up!
*Huge Pop*
Chris Jericho: You see for the past two months me and you have been going back and forth over the WWE Championship! However each time, I have come this close (Jericho squeezes his fingers to emphasize his point), but keep getting screwed! And you know what I’m sick of it! I’m sick and tired of having coming so close to winning back the WWE Championship and being denied my opportunity by some other jackasses!
*Huge Pop*
King Booker: Jericho, I’ve beaten you once before. I’ve beaten you every time that I entered this ring. And I should not and WILL not face you again with this title on the line!
*Huge Heat*
King Booker: You see…
Teddy Long: As I was saying. At Starrcade, the WWE Championship will be decided as King Booker defends the WWE Championship against…
*Metalingus hits and out comes the Rated R Superstar, Edge, to a bunch of heat in a shirt and jeans attire*
Edge: Cut the music!
*Heat*
Edge: I’m not out here asking, I’m out here demanding that I receive a WWE Championship shot against King Booker!
*Mixed Reaction*
Edge: I deserve it. I wasn’t the one who was beaten at Uncensored. I, the Rated R Superstar, needs the chance to prove that I am without a doubt the absolute ultimate opportunist!
*Huge Heat*
Edge: So Teddy get the papers drawn up, and I’ll sign the damn contract right here in this ring, next week!
*Heat*
Edge: And then I beat the royal jackass for the WWE Championship and once again reignite the Rated R Era!
*Huge Heat*
Chris Jericho: Edge, WILL YOU PLEASE…SHUT…THE…HELL…UP!
*Huge Pop*
Chris Jericho: You come out here and complain and complain about wanting a title shot, but you haven’t done a damn thing to deserve it!
*Huge Pop*
Edge: And you have, Mr. I lose every time I step into this ring!
*OOHHs from the crowd*
Chris Jericho: Oh really.
Edge: Really.
*The two get in the face of each other*
King Booker: Thaddeus, what is the decree that you are deciding upon. Who will be the advisory who will be defeated at the hands of the king of the Smackdown Kingdom, I, King Booker!
*Huge Heat*
Teddy Long: Well King Booker, your opponent at Starrcade will…
*Cookin’ hits and out comes The Rock to the biggest pop of the night*
Michael Cole: The Rock is back!
Joey Styles: I can’t believe it!
*Rock enters the ring with traditional vest and leather pants and has a mic in his hand*
The Rock: Finally The Rock has come back to Portland… Oh wait, that’s not the name of this town, but really The Rock doesn’t care about that!
*Major Heat on The Rock*
The Rock: You people who live in this city are booing The Rock because the Rock didn’t say your city’s name!
*Heat*
The Rock: Well the Rock says…So!
*Huge Heat*
The Rock: That’s right. The Rock has returned. The Rock was on vacation in the Hawaii, after beating that washed up bum, Bret Hart.
*Boos at the disrespect for Bret*
The Rock: And then I was watching the tv, when I saw King Booker for up the millionth time claim that he is the ruler of the “Smackdown Kingdom!”
*Huge Boos*
The Rock: Jabroni, this is The Rock’s show, and The Rock is the real king of this show, and you have a problem with it, The Rock will kick your Smokey the Fire Bear looking ass right here right now!
*Huge Pop*
*Edge snickers*
The Rock: And you with you bleach blond hair. 1998 called and they want their style back!
*Huge Pop*
The Rock: And Chris Jericho…
Teddy Long: Well I’m glad that The Rock is back here in the WWE and back on Smackdown, following his brief vacation! With that said, King Booker, you want to know who you’re facing at Starrcade with your WWE Championship on the line?
King Booker: You’re damn right sucka!
*Huge Heat*
Teddy Long: Okay playa! At Starrcade, it will be King Booker defending the WWE Championship against Edge (Mixed Reaction)…The Rock(Huge Pop but turns into heel heat)…and Y2J Chris Jericho (Biggest Pop of the night) in a Fatal 4 Way Match!
*Huge Pop*
Teddy Long: Now that’s tabernacle!
*Long’s music hits as King Booker looks at his three opponents for Starrcade, as he and Sharmell are livid as the show comes to a close as Teddy Long looks back at King Booker from the top of the stage*
