That really is cruel to have some shows erased, especially future ones.

I'll definately be looking forward to your future shows, and am looking forward to WrestleMania (which would be cool to read on 1st January 2007 if you decided to do that :p) and if I start writing shows in full again when I've got the time, it would be a pleasure to have a little ''war'' with ya :)

Looking forward to the return in a month, and if I don't chat to ya before you go off, have a fun little holiday.

#1,481 ·
That sucks. I hate it when I lose a match...not whole shows. One question though. Did you fix your PC or is it still where it can delete documents?

Anyways, looking foward to shows being posted, and I'll leave a review for Mania an maybe some reviews for weekly shows if I have time.

#1,483 ·
That's too bad about your shows. I know it's hard to rewrite something over, especially when you know there were things you liked in the original. And as for a deadline, take your time. No need to rush, this is a huge milestone in BTB history. I don't think anyone has ever made two years in their thread.

The Royal Rumble review will be up at some point. I'm not sure when. I started to write it as a standard review, but I thought I'd try something different. I've been really busy this summer.

Anyways, enjoy your vacation! Where are you going?

#1,487 ·
As you might have gathered, I'm now back from my holiday, refreshed, and raring to go, which means I'll be back posting shows very soon.

Sunday, September 17th to be exact.

I'll post the first Raw following the Royal Rumble on that date, and from there, it'll be full steam ahead towards Wrestle Mania 22.

In the coming week, I'll post a brief recap of the Royal Rumble, which seems like an eternity ago now, and brief paragraphs highlighting recent feuds, or feuds ready to hit the forefront of the thread.

I can promise plenty of twists and turns in the lead up to Wrestle Mania, one right off the bat on the first Raw. Some twists you may see coming, but definately a few you wont, memorable matches, and fingers crossed, some of my best promo work, but thats for the readers to decide.

I'll take the next few days to get myself back on my feet at home etc, and yes, I will attempt to catch up - still - with PPV reviews I owe. At some point though, I will have a cut off point, and if I dont get to review the PPV, I'll fully understand if you want to see me die for not getting back to you.

#1,488 ·
Well, i have been reading through your thread now for....well, lets say months and i have been really impressed and i still am. I have also started giving propper reviews in some threads and i will be doing the same in this thread. I cant wait untill wrestlemania 22 and i cant wait for all the twists and suprises along the way. I know you can produce kick ass shows and i look forward to seeing them.

Kane Fan 4 Ever!!!

#1,492 ·
You know me, always excited for your shows. Wrestlemania 22 is going to be a masterpiece, I cannot wait, hopefully, you are step one in all the bookers returning.
Step two actually...I came back a few days ago :D

You know I'll be reading Wolfy, good luck with it all.

#1,494 ·
Glad to see you back and hope you had a great vacation. It's always fun not only reading but writing the Road to WrestleMania. So many things can happen and I see tons happening here. I'm just waiting to see what goes down and you know I'll be reading as usual. Good luck with writing WrestleMania.

#1,497 ·
Good to see you back from your holiday, and refreshed to continue the road to Wrestlemania, which i'm sure will be great to see

Next Sunday is a date to put in your diary to see what you have planned for the first show after the RR, and i can see a major heel turn, or a major name coming back to kick off the mania build up

Kurt Angle finally forced Bret Hart to sign the contract, to make a match between the two men at Wrestle Mania 22. Angle had been chasing Hart for six months to face him in the ring, and despite Hart showing no sign of ever accepting, Angle pursued. Finally, at Madison Square Garden, once the Smackdown GM again refused to sign the contract, Angle snapped, and attacked Hart, eventually forcing the signature. The date for their meeting is now set - March 26th at the MGM Grand.

John Cena defeated The Undertaker to retain the Championship @ 16:04, needing two FU's to finally keep The Phenom down for a three count, in a highly competitve showdown.

Backstage, Christian appraoched Steve Austin, and half heartedly applauded The Rattlesnake on his victory, before promising Austin that he was about to win the Royal Rumble and headline Wrestle Mania. Chris Benoit wins the Royal Rumble @ 71:02 outlasting Triple H to earn his main event spot at Wrestle Mania 22. In the process, The Rabid Wolverine made Royal Rumble history, eliminating an oustounding FOURTEEN superstars - including the final five eliminations of the match. (Matt Morgan, Dusty Rhodes, Booker T, Mark Jindrak, Garrison Cade, Gene Snitsky, Chris Masters, Rob Van Dam, Ken Kennedy, JBL, Batista, Christian, Randy Orton and Triple H).

Other notable moments in the match included a sign that Kane may return, with his pyro and music interrupting the match at the 13 minute mark. Along with that, The Rock and Shawn Michaels finally crossed paths in the ring, and the tensions exploded as both men went straight at the other. The Rock eliminated Michaels, before HBK gained revenge, distracting The Rock, which allowed Edge to topple The Great One out of the match.

Rey Mysterio, Matt Hardy and Paul London all had tremendous runs in the match, with Mysterio entering Number One, and lasting an excellent 52 minutes, before finally being eliminated by Christian, whom Mysterio has been feuding with on Raw for a short while. Rey also eliminated Simon Dean during the match.

Paul London eliminated Maven during his impressive twenty minute stay in the match, whilst Matt Hardy showed his talent, lasting nearly thirty minutes, mixing it with some of the biggest names on Raw and Smackdown.

News and Notes:

Coming off the back of the Royal Rumble, there is not set to be any angle where Chris Benoit defends his #1 Contender status heading into Wrestle Mania, and most indications point to Benoit remaining on Smackdown to challenge, most likely, current WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar. However, with the controversial finish to the WWE Championship Match at Royal Rumble, the Brock Lesnar - Chris Jericho program is set to run for at least one more rematch, possibly at Saturday Nights Main Event in three weeks time.

John Cena is now fully expected to head into Wrestle Mania as the World Champion over on Raw. At the moment however, the race to be Number One Contender to face Cena looks a little unclear. Rumours suggest Cena may defend in a triple threat match against both Edge and Randy Orton, who have yet to conclude their recent feud, or a singles match against one or the other.
Rey Mysterio is another option, as there doesnt appear to be a clear opponent for him at Wrestle Mania right now, as he current feud with Christian is expected to wrap up within the next month, as Captain Charisma is set to move on and finally begin his full program with Steve Austin as they look set to face off at Wrestle Mania.
A Champion vs Champion match isnt also being ruled out as Carlito has been booked strongly as of late, but it's possibly the most unlikely of all the rumoured matches.

Bret Hart is expected to take the next four - five weeks off television, as he prepares to go under intense training, to be ready in time for his Wrestle Mania 'Dream' match against Kurt Angle. It's unknown what role Angle will play on Smackdown in the coming weeks to keep the feud in the limelight, but Hart will definately return before March 26th in order to give the final hype towards the history making showdown.

In that time, an Interim GM is expected to be named on Smackdown, possibly as early as this Thursday. Current road agents, Ted DiBiase, Dusty Rhodes and Ricky Steamboat are among the likely candidates, as are Mick Foley, Stephanie McMahon and Shane McMahon.

Despite strong suggestions, coming from last nights PPV, there will NOT be a Champion vs Champion feud between Carlito and JBL. Both are expected to remain in their heel role for the time being, but given their strong chemistry, it's liekly something will be done between them down the road, after Wrestle Mania.

The simmering rivalry between The Rock and Shawn Michaels is expected to kick into gear immediately, as neither man is currently programmed with anyone on their respective brands, meaning they dont have any loose ends to tie up before moving on. Expect something to happen, possibly as soon as this week to pick up the steam.

As of now, there do not appear to be plans for either Triple H or The Undertaker concerning opponents for Wrestle Mania. Triple H is said to be furious that he hasnt been involved in one of the major, long running angles, or the title picture in the lead up to Wrestle Mania, which is unlike The Game, as normally, given his strong links to the McMahon family, he has a major role at the event. Meanwhile, The Undertaker doesnt appear to be as unhappy, as it's pretty much certain, given his Wrestle Mania streak will be on the line, he'll be pitted against a major star. There is a genuine possibilty though that we could see a match between the two, should nothing else materialise.

Ric Flair isnt expected to last much longer as GM of Raw. There hadnt been any long terms plans for The Nature Boy to be in charge of Raw, and it's likely he will lose his spot, possibly in some sort of match at Wrestle Mania, and most indications point to a final showdown featuring Mick Foley against Flair at the showcase of the immortals.

Rob Van Dam however, has appeared to be left out in the cold since the New Year. His heel run, albeit seen as a big success, looks set to end, possibly before Wrestle Mania, with fans starting to get behind RVD once again. This could end up being a breath of fresh air for Van Dam, as despite the heel turn freshening up his character, there appears to be a gap for an upper card face on Raw, which RVD could easily fill, as the heel spots at the top of the roster appear to be taken up by other superstars at this time.

Brief recap of recent feuds:

Raw:

John Cena is currently not directly feuding with any one superstar. His brief feud with fellow face, The Undertaker isnt set to go any further from now. However, there have been 'clashes' between Cena and a host of stars from Raw, including the GM, Ric Flair, Edge, Randy Orton, RVD, amongst others.

Carlito, The Intercontinental Champion, is also without a stable feud right now. Since taking the title from Rey Mysterio, he has been solidifying himself as the champion, but now appears ready to move into a program, with one of Raws upper card faces.

Christian and Rey Mysrerio have been battling on Raw since early December, and that feud is set to be wrapped up by around Saturday Nights Main Event, which will allow Christian to move onto his expected clash with Steve Austin from Smackdown, yet there isnt a clear cut feud with Mysterio in the run up to Wrestle Mania.

Edge and Randy Orton have also been feuding as of late, but it is unclear how long the feud will run for. It could run right up to Wrestle Mania, either in a one on one gimmick match, or with both men challenging John Cena in a triple threat match. The feud may end earlier than that though, and one could move on to face Cena at Wrestle Mania.

Ric Flair has been exerting his force as General Manager, calling the shots in favour of The Animal, Batista at every turn, and making the lives of many of Raws top faces a living hell. Currently, Rhyno has been feeling that wrath mostly, which in turn has elevated The Man Beast, and could see some plans changing for Wrestle Mania, should Rhyno's popularity grow further in his battle against Flair and Batista. Randy Orton, John Cena and Rey Mysterio have also felt the force of Flair in recent weeks, as he prepares to demolish his foes on Raw.

The Brotherhood have also been enjoying an extended run on Raw recently, with Orlando Jordan and Rodney Mack making a push for the Tag Titles, whilst Jazz has reignited her battles with Trish Stratus over the Womens Championship. With Mark Henry playing an enforcer role, and Teddy Long the brains of the bunch, this group appears to have established themselves as a firm set of Raw regulars.

Smackdown:

I'll not go into detail with the Angle - Hart story, I think anyone who has read this thread should know what's going on there. Just to the last turn in the story- After Angle attacked Hart at the RR, he forced the signature of the Smackdown GM, and the match is now set for Wrestle Mania.

Brock Lesnar has been embroiled in a feud with Chris Jericho in recent weeks over the WWE Championship. Jericho looked set to take the title at Royal Rumble, but Lesnar managed to hold onto the title, having to cheat to do so. Expect this feud to run for another few weeks at least, before one moves on, and faces the #1 Contender, Chris Benoit.
