Re: Being the booker
Smackdown; Kansas; February 24th 2005:
Highlights from last week, as The Rock beat Brock Lesnar thanks to interference from Stone Cold, who was not expected at the arena, then Triple H’s attack on The Rock with a Sledgehammer.
Cole: Smackdown is live on the air!!! Just three and a half weeks remain until WrestleMania 21!! And boy, I cannot wait!! Tonight, we will find out who faces Eddie Guerrero for the United States Title at the event. Will it be his long time friend, Chris Benoit, or the seven foot monster, Big Show!!??
Tazz: We find out later Cole. But also, we will hear the condition’s of both Kurt Angle, and the great one, The Rock, after both men suffered horrific injuries, at the hands of Goldberg and Triple H.
Cole: And what about Brock Lesnar?? Last week, Steve Austin cost him the title shot at WrestleMania, and we know now that Austin has signed the waiver, and can appear on Smackdown as he pleases, but what will be Lesnar’s reaction to this!!??
Tazz: That situation is ready to explode Cole!!
Cole: Lets not forget too, that Tajiri makes his first defence of the Cruiserweight Title, in a return match from No Way Out, against the former champion, Chavo Guerrero!!!
Tazz: I cant wait for that match. They had a great one at No Way Out, and Chavo is hungry for the title!!
Matt Hardy vs. Hardcore Holly
The two men battle it out in a very hard hitting match, with Holly going for the Alabama Slam, but Hardy rolls through, and rolls up Holly, 1...2...3!!! Matt gets the victory!!!
Winner: Matt Hardy
We cut backstage, where we see Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman charge into Bret Harts office…
Heyman: Could we have a moment please Mr. Hart?? Thank you. Now, as you know, last week, a very unf-
Brock: Bret, I want Austin!!! I want him in the ring…TONIGHT!!! I know the creepy son of a bitch is here, and I want his ass.
Hart: Well, Brock, I don’t know if Steve is here or not. You see, he isn’t my responsibility. He isn’t under contract. He signed a waiver, allowing him to come to Smackdown, that’s all. I don’t know if he is here right now, if he is on his way, or if he is even gonna be here.
Brock: He will be. I know it. I feel him here already, and Bret, its just aswell he isn’t under a Smackdown contract, because when I get my hands on him, you would have had a heavy lawsuit on your hands. Now tonight, later on, I’m calling his ass out. So when you see him, or talk to him, you let him know that I’m after him.
Hart: Oh, I will, don’t you worry.
Brock:Glad to hear it. I’ll be out there later, waiting…
Brock and Paul leave, with Bret watching on.
Interview with TWGTT;
Josh: I’m back here with the #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles at Wrestlemania, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin. Guys, its been a long time since you were the tag team champions, but as of late, you have been on a roll, with numerous victories, in tag action, and in singles competition. How do you rate your chances at Wrestlemania, against another on form tag team, the champions, America’s Most Wanted.
Shelton: How do we rate our chances?? Lets just say that we are pretty confident. Yeah, AMW are good, and they have beaten good teams, but we are a great team. AMW haven’t faced any great teams as yet. But tonight, they get their first look, at the next tag team champions in the six man tag a just a little bit.
Josh: So, you guys are saying that AMW aren’t in your league??
Haas: Did Shelton stutter?? Listen Josh, you said it yourself, its been a long time since we had the gold…too damn long. Let us ask you a question Josh. Do you think we are gonna beat AMW at Wrestlemania??
Josh: Well, to be honest guys, it’s a tough one to call. I mean, AMW have been on a roll since they debuted, but you guys are really on top form, so-
Shelton: Shut up asshole. You don’t even know what your talking about. Take your microphone kid, and shove it up your ass!!!
Haas: Your not sure then eh?? Tell you what, we are gonna go out there, and prove to you, and everyone else, why we are called, the Worlds Greatest Tag Team!!!
2nd Match: 6 Man Tag Team Match:
TWGTT & Jamie Noble vs. AMW & Rey Mysterio
Fast paced 6 man Tag, wit most action between TWGTT & AMW. Neither side gets the upper hand, and the match disintegrates into a 6 man brawl, with Haas Storm as the two legal men in the ring. Cowboy comes off the ropes, but Shelton trips him, and distracts him, while Haas rolls him up, with a handful of tights, 1...2...3!!! TWGTT steal the win!!!
Winner: TWGTT & Noble
Backstage we see in the distance, Paul Heyman chatting with the three members of La Resistance, but don’t hear what is said.
Back to ringside with Tazz and Cole;
Cole: I wonder what was going on there with Heyman and La Resistance Tazz??
Tazz: Errr…maybe he was asking what the best French wine is?? Or maybe the best French restaurant in town…
Cole: I highly doubt it. Folks, Wrestlemania is fast approaching, and Ford Field is almost completely sold out. Some tickets do remain, but get your hands on them fast, because they wont last long. I guarantee it. And speaking of WrestleMania. So far, the line up looks like this, it’s Cena challenging Randy Orton for the World Title over on RAW, along with the match that was just announced this past Monday night, between Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. On the Smackdown side, its Haas and Benjamin vs. AMW, and Triple H vs. The Rock for the WWE Title. We will be speaking to Triple H in just a moment, but tonight, we will also find out Eddie Guerrero’s opponent at WrestleMania. And folks, if you haven’t already heard, LIVE at Wrestlemania, there will be a special performance from Detroit’s own, EMINEM!!!! He will be providing the theme music for this years Wrestlemania, oh man, I’m getting tingles just thinking about it!!
Tazz: Oh yeah!!! Thanks to yours truly, Eminem will be at WrestleMania!! You know Eminem is my boy don’t you Cole??
Cole: Of course he is. But folks, we have a more serious note to move onto here. Last week, Triple H heinously attacked The Rock, from behind, with a sledgehammer, after The Rocks match. We can now speak with the WWE Champion, Triple H.
Triple H: (With a big smile) Hello Michael.
Cole: Triple H, last week, you obliterated your opponent at WrestleMania, The Rock. I have a few questions to ask you about this, with the first being, What drove you to attack the #1 Contender for the title. Was it fear of the fact that The Rock might just be better than you??
Triple H: Michael Cole, I don’t fear anybody, whether they are eight feet tall, or five foot two. So, no, it wasn’t based on “fear” as you like to call it. It was based on hatred. I’ll go and admit, I hate The Rock, its no secret. He doesn’t deserve to be in the same ring with me. Four years ago, he would have deserved to stand toe to toe with me, but not anymore. His heart, doesn’t lie with the business that made him anymore, no. His heart lies with the dollar sign. His heart lies in Hollywood. He doesn’t care about wrestling anymore. He has movies. That’s where my problem lies with The Rock.
He thinks he can just waltz back into the WWE, when and where he pleases. Granted he’s stayed a little longer than usual, but after his big payday at WrestleMania, he’ll go back to Hollywood, and make another crappy movie. The Rock doesn’t deserve to fight for this belt, because he is only a part timer. He doesn’t care about the history of this belt. He used to though. Dammit, he was the first ever third generation superstar in the company. One of the youngest champions of all time. And he turned his back on this business, his heritage, for the glitz, and the glamour of Hollywood. I love this business, more than life itself. I live for this title, while The Rock views it as extra baggage. I would rather face the Brooklyn Brawler, or one of the Bushwhackers at Wrestlemania, because they love this business.
Cole: So what you’re trying to say, is that the reason you attacked your competition at WrestleMania, was because he doesn’t deserve it?? Surely, you must realise that The Rock does deserve it. He is a nine times World Champion in total. Add to that-
Triple H: Hold on a minute here Cole. Big deal how many times The Rock has been champion. I am a nine times, world champion too. I have beaten everyone that The Rock has beaten, I have beaten them better than The Rock has. Mick Foley at his own game, Stone Cold Steve Austin more times than I can remember, Chris Jericho time after time, Kurt Angle, Hollywood Hogan, Chris Benoit, Goldberg, Undertaker, Big Show, you name them, the list goes on.
Cole: Well, Triple H you make a good point. Tonight though, you take on Funaki. Why would you want to face someone like that.
Triple H: Why? Because I want to show The Rock, just how dominating I can be. And I just want to take a moment to talk to The Rock, wherever you are. Rock, at Wrestlemania, your ass belongs to me. If you haven’t decided to leave the WWE before that, make no mistake, I will run you straight out of this company…forever.
This week, Wrestlemania X. Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart, HBK vs. Razor in a Ladder Match, and two Championship matches, with Bret Hart ending up as the Champion in the end.
3rd Match: Cruiserweight Championship Match:
Tajiri vs. Chavo Guerrero w/Chavo Classic
Fast paced match, with the advantage going to Tajiri in the early going, then switching to Chavo, after interference from Chavo Classic. Chavo then dominates for the majority, until Tajiri ducks a clothesline, and nails the Buzzsaw kick, then prays the mist at Classic, and gets the cover, 1...2...3!!!
Tajiri celebrates, until Akio & Sakoda run in and attack their former leader. Chavo then helps out kicking at Tajiri, but the trio are then chased away by Rey Mysterio who runs in to make the save for Tajiri.
Backstage, we see Paul Heyman talking with William Regal and Lance Storm, but as like before, we don’t hear what is being said.
Back to ringside;
Cole: Well, this looks very suspicious. Paul Heyman, was seen earlier talking to La Resistance, now he’s talking with Regal and Storm. Something is being planned here, and I don’t like it one bit. Admit it Tazz, something is not right.
Tazz: Well….I personally think Heyman was asking Regal where he would be able to buy some Brass Knucks, and maybe he asked lance where he got that fashionable hair style??
Cole: You know it, and I know it. Something fishy is going on, and I think it’s got something to do with Austin later.
- Edge and Christian continue to argue, with Christian seemingly jealous of Edge.
- Mind Games between Cena and Orton.
- Announcement of HBK vs. Taker at WM 21.
- Kane attacking Trish and Jericho, then abducting Trish, driving away with her in the boot of his car.
- Cena beating Ric Flair, despite interference from Evolution.
We come back, and see Goldberg standing in the ring, mic in hand…
Goldberg: (Smiling) You know, for the past seven months, Kurt Angle has been a thorn in my side. The stain that wont wash away. At SummerSlam, I beat him for the WWE Championship. I beat him in triple threats the month after, but he wouldn’t go away. He took advantage of my condition at Survivor Series, and eliminated me from the Chamber. Days later, he took advantage of the injuries I had sustained, and beat me again. By that time I had enough. You people were cheering that geek, over me. He pretended that he liked me, to get your approval, and you were all suckered in. You people make me sick.
I wasn’t gonna let him become the WWE Champion at my expense. No way. I would rather lose the power of my legs, before Angle got the title, so I had to cost him it. I had to. And then you people booed me. But I don’t care anymore. I showed no remorse last week, as I destroyed your Olympic Hero. In fact, just if you haven’t seen it yet, lets roll the footage…
***Angle charges at Goldberg and knocks him down. He then sets him up for the Angle Slam, but Goldberg rolls through, then kicks Angle HARD down south, sending Angle to his knees. Goldberg laughs, then Spears Angle. Goldberg then prepares to Jackhammer Angle, but then decides not to, and drops Angle onto the floor. He then points towards the announce table, with a huge grin, and drags Kurt’s carcass to the outside, picks him up with ease….AND JACKHAMMERS HIM THROUGH THE TABLE!!!!!!!!
Goldberg stands over the broken body of Kurt Angle, and his smile turns to a scowl, which then turns to a look of anger. He grabs a mic off Tony Chimmel, and leans over Angle, and picks him up by the hair, and looks him dead in the eye…
Goldberg: Kurt, you have made me this way. It’s your fault I lost the WWE Championship, its your fault I didn’t win the Royal Rumble, its your fault, that I lost last Sunday, its your fault that the fans turned against me. If you think that I will run from you…you’re wrong. DO NOT cross me, because this is what it leads to. NEVER call me out, and NEVER try to go toe to toe with me. I will break you in half, because as God as my witness, I have never hated anyone, as much, as I hate you!!! Kurt Angle, mark my words…this is just the beginning, because you…ARE NEXT!!!!!
Goldberg then stands over Angle his arms raised in the air, as the crowd give Goldberg some huge heat…more than he has had since turning heel. ***
Goldberg: Beautiful, isn’t it?? I thought so anyway. Now, Angle, this next part, is directed at you. I know you have more guts than brains, so I’m pretty sure you’ll be back. And I’m pretty sure that you still haven’t had enough yet, so, this is where I make a proposition to you. How about, in three and a half weeks, at Wrestlemania, its you, going one on one, with ME!!!! Goldberg vs. Angle. Lets settle the score. Once, and for all. Now Angle, all we need is for you to accept. I’ll be waiting for your answer.
Goldberg then poses at the crowd, as they give him some huge heat.
We then see Benoit warming up backstage before his match later with Big Show.
4th Match: Non-Title Match:
Triple H vs. Funaki
Total squash, with Triple H decimating Funaki, hitting all his trademark moves, then after hitting a Pedigree, he pulls off his elbow pad, and hit’s the People’s Elbow, then covers and does the Peoples Eyebrow, 1...2...3!!!
Winner: Triple H
Interview with Big Show;
Josh: Big Show, in a few moments, you face Chris Benoit, in a rematch from No Way Out, but this time, the winner will get a shot at Wrestlemania, against Eddie Guerrero for the U.S Title. Thoughts??
Show: My thoughts….my thoughts are that tonight, we get a replay of No Way Out, when I beat Benoit, 1,2,3. Then, at Wrestlemania, we get a replay, of when I beat Eddie Guerrero for the U.S Title over a year ago. Which results in me being the U.S Champion.
Josh: Well, you seem awfully confident, con-
Show: Listen here pipsqueak, I’m seven foot two, five hundred pounds. Why shouldn’t I be confident. You know, this interview, is just like Benoit in a few minutes….FINISHED!!!
We then see Heyman talking with the Bashams and Kanyon, but again, we cannot hear what is being said.
Cole: This is getting out of hand. Heyman has now been spotted talking to La Resistance, Lance Storm, William Regal, The Basham’s and Kanyon. Whas the excuse you have for it this time Tazz??
Tazz: Errrr…..I….don’t know. I really don’t know this time Cole.
Cole: This could be bad for Austin if he does turn up here tonight, that’s all I’m saying.
5th Match: #1 Contenders Match for U.S Title:
With Eddie Guerrero on commentary;
Big Show vs. Chris Benoit
Normal big man vs. small man match, with Show dominating. Benoit ends up rolling off the three Germans, to a huge pop, then a head butt, but Show kicks out at two.
Benoit is shocked, then comes at Show, but Show catches him and goes for the Chokeslam, but Benoit counters into a victory roll, 1...2...3!!!! Benoit wins!!!
Winner: Chris Benoit
Benoit celebrates as Show is led away, in total rage. Eddie then gets in the ring, and comes face to face with his WM opponent. They then both extend their hands to one another, and shake, then hug. They both hold the others hand up, as the crowd gives them a rousing ovation, as the two friends are now set to go at it at WM.
We see Goldberg stepping into his rental car, as Bret quickly catches up with him…
Bret: Whoa, hold it Bill. I have some news for you.
Goldberg: Oh yeah, what??
Bret: Well, I just got a call from Kurt Angle, and he told me, that he’ll be at Smackdown next week. Not only will he be here, he’s even gonna be in a match. Oh, and he says he answer your challenge too.
Bret walks off, as Goldberg stares in anger.
Brock Lesnar’s music hits, and Lesnar makes his way to the ring, with Heyman. He grabs a microphone, and begins to speak…
Lesnar: Austin. I know you’re here somewhere. Now, I’m calling you out. Come face to face with me. Come on rattlesnake, you Texan scumbag.
Glass Shatters, and Austin’s music hits to a deafening pop. He makes his way to the ring, and goes to each corner, before grabbing a mic. Lesnar seems a little scared, as Austin prepares to talk. As he is about to, an Austin chant fills the arena, and Austin acknowledges the fans, and has a beer to a huge pop. Slowly it quietens as SCSA talks…
Austin: Brock Lesnar. You come out here, flapping your gums, you make me sick.
Austin: I can appreciate the fact that you have been very successful in less than three years in the business, but son, you may not know it, but right now, you got your beady little eyes, locked on the worlds toughest son of a bitch!!!
Lesnar goes to speak…
Austin: Shut up!!!! Brock, you’ve been enjoying yourself around here for a long time now, thinking that you ran out Stone Cold Steve Austin from the WWE at Judgement Day, but son, as you get a little older, you will realise, that you don’t run Stone Cold out from anywhere, anytime, anyplace, anyday. Annnnddd that’s the bottom line….cause Stone Cold..
Crowd: SAID SO!!!!!
Austin: You damn right.
Heyman: Hold on, hold on, hold on a minute. Steve, are you forgetting something?? Are you forgetting a little date known as June 10th 2002?? Let me just remind you. That was the day you were scheduled to face my client, Brock Lesnar, on RAW. But, instead of facing a real challenge, you backed off, jumped on a plane, and stayed at home for eight months. Why?? Because you were scared that Brock Lesnar would ruin you. I mean, here is a twenty five year old, rookie, taking on a multiple time WWE Champion, a legend of the sport, a hero to millions, and the one who backs out?? The veteran. Is this right or is this wrong??
Austin leans on the ropes, and rubs his beard, thinking.
Austin: Well Paul, Number one, You really are one sleazy, son of a bitch!!! (Crowd pops) And number two, I didn’t walk out because I was scared of this lump of crap, I mean, why would I be standing in this ring, right here, right now, cocked ready and loaded to open a can of whoop ass. (Crowd pops) I walked out, because of a lot of other reasons, which have been explained so many times I’m about as sick of it, as I am of listening to you two eat up time on Smackdown, week in, week out, and its time someone decided to do something about it!!!!
Lesnar: Well, Austin, I’m standing here. C’mon get your revenge. C’mon!!! I’ve been walking around here since May, celebrating getting rid of you from the WWE, c’mon Austin, do something about it!!!
Austin: Brock, you really don’t need to try and fire me up son. I didn’t come here to talk, believe me. I’ll beat you here tonight, tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, if I want to.
Lesnar: Austin, you can talk trash all you want, but at the end of the day, you will find out just why I am the most feared man in the WWE today. You don’t scare me, you don’t scare anyone, anymore.
Austin: You have your little crappy opinion Brock, but son, you’re still just a kid, and maybe you don’t understand what I’ve been saying, but I can cut it down into one piece of sign language if you wish…(Austin flips the bird)
Lesnar is irate. Heyman calms him down, then Heyman takes the mic.
Heyman: Listen Austin, my client is not interested in fighting with you here tonight. That’s just not good business. No, we have a proposition for you. If you really have the guts, you will accept the challenge to face Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania!!!
Austin: Oh. Well…a decision like that will need some careful thought, can you give me a few moments to think about it??
Heyman prepares to talk, but Austin snatches the mic.
Austin: I’ve made my decision, and its oh helllllllll yeahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Austin then drops the mic, and attacks Lesnar, pounding him down with right hands. Heyman then signals to the back, and we see la Resistance, Regal and Storm, Kanyon and the Basham’s sprint to the ring to face Austin.
Austin stuns Conway, then hit’s a double clothesline to Dupree and Grenier, he then ducks a brass knucks shot from Regal, who accidentally hits Storm and Stuns him, then hit’s the Lou Thesz press to Kanyon, then knocks down Danny Basham, and stuns Doug, before stunning Danny, and then Kanyon.
He stomps Grenier in the corner, but then Lesnar attacks him from behind, and nails a Belly to Belly, followed by an F5!!! Lesnar then gets a chair, and nails Austin with it, busting the rattlesnake wide open.
Lesnar, Heyman, and the others who ran in, then all stand over Austin, and celebrate, drinking beer, as the show goes off the air.
End of Show
