11. World Heavyweight Championship Match:
World Heavyweight Champion Christian w/ Ricky ‘Hitman’ Hatton
VS.

Mr. Money in the Bank; Unbeaten & Undefeated Umaga w/ Armando Estrada

As someone pointed out above, you're a big advocate of strike while the iron is hot, and there's literally no hotter time to strike with 'Mags. It would be one of the first, if not only, times someone has given Umaga the strap and let him run with it. Yes, you've built Christian into this incredible new, huge face of the company, but Umaga has been built as this unbelievable monster that I don't think does him any kind of justice to lose to Christian here. That said, I can see Christian walking out with the win, but if he does, he'll have to go far beyond everything he's already done - farther than Cena pushed him, farther than Lesnar pushed him, just something otherworldly without him seeming like the invincible hero role company faces seem to fall into.

10. WWE Championship Match:
Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam

Regardless if one world title changes hands or not, the other has to stay put, not just on that logic, but because just a simple one-on-one match can't quell the things going on between these two. No way Orton wins completely clean to set up the necessarily beat the hell out of each other rematch that Van Dam wins, no matter what that might be.

P.S. This is ECW Rules, no? Kinda forgot that and it wasn't in the template. Still think Orton...

8. World Tag Team Championships | Tables Ladders and Chairs Match:
!!THE FINAL CHAPTER - LOSERS LEAVE RAW!!
MNM vs. Straight Edge

Another one really up in the air, but Straight Edge seems like a team that needs this moreso than MNM. MNM are the established guys that have put over SE quite a bit in the last several months, but SE gets the big win in the end to completely cement themselves. Plus, with what I'm thinking the Master Craftsmen are after, face champions might be what's best.

2. WWE Tag Team Championships Match:
Americas Most Wanted vs. The Caribbean Connection

Thought this one was kind of obvious, really. AMW let themselves go, had no competition, the Connection needs this not just for themselves, but for the whole SD tag team division as a whole.

1. WWE Intercontinental Championship | Triple Threat Match:
Shelton Benjamin vs. Matt Hardy vs. William Regal

Think SummerSlam kicks off with the home country Brit getting the huge win. If Hardy could've gotten it, he would've had it by now.

3. WWE United States Championship Match:
Paul London vs. M.V.P

Even if London is a bit worn from his huge year, you've spent too long building him up to have him lose it just yet.

7. Womens Championship Match:
Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix

Just feels...right?

9. !!THE WRESTLEMANIA REMATCH!!
~ STREETFIGHT ~
Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar

Unless you want this feud ended in absolute, Trips gets the win here to set up the rubber match at some point in the future. But the way this one is gone, there's absolutely no need to stop it at Act II.

5. ~ FIRST TIME EVER ~
John Cena vs. Mr. Kennedy w/The Miz

Not like Cena's gonna have that tough a time recovering from this in some way and Kennedy needs to drop the choke-artist schtick. That said, either one of these guys winning isn't completely out of the question, as as much as I think Kennedy will win, I kinda want Cena to. Feel bad for the guy in his whole fall from grace thing.

6. One on One:
Edge vs. The Undertaker

Whether it be definite or by DQ, 'Taker wins to set up Edge's new obsession...taking down the Deadman.

4. Grudge Match:
Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle

Another up in the air one, but going on the flip of a coin here with Angle. Probably shouldn't do that, but I like one complete guessing game in the mix for me.

---

Pre-Show 20 Man Battle Royal:
Batista, Garrison Cade, Jeff Hardy, Burchill, Tyson Tomko, X-Pac, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, Ken Doane, Jamie Noble, Chavo Guerrero, Super Crazy, Evan Bourne, Hardcore Holly, Cody Rhodes, Nick Nemeth, Chris Masters, Rhyno, Mark Henry, Scotty Too Hotty

!! THE PREDICTION CONTEST !!
1. Predict the winners Done
2. Predict the match order (not counting the Pre-show battle royal) ...and done.
3. Longest match Trips/Lesnar
4. Shortest match WWE Tag Team Championships
5. Will the womens championship match even happen?? It'd better.
6. On Smackdown, Brent Albright and Charlie Haas promised to be at Summerslam, but what impact/role will the Master Craftsmen have on the show?? Going with the announcement that they're going over to RAW to help out that tag team division
7.Predict the final four of the pre-show battle royal Batista, Nameth, Hardy, Doane...?

Super-de-duper stoked for this

11. World Heavyweight Championship Match:
World Heavyweight Champion Christian w/ Ricky ‘Hitman’ Hatton
VS.

Mr. Money in the Bank; Unbeaten & Undefeated Umaga w/ Armando Estrada

You've made this one VERY hard to call, Wolfy. With the way you've built the feud between these two, it's almost Andre/Hogan-esque, by which I mean of course that the monster heel has UTTERLY, COMPLETELY dominated the plucky babyface in the build up, and, in Booking 101, would normally lead to said plucky babyface somehow overcoming the odds and slaying the monster to retain the title and ride off into the sunset for the feel-good moment of the year. However, it's clear you want the belt on Umaga. I mean, I thought DDMac had a crush on the Bulldozer, but you take it to a whole new level () Those promos that you wrote, though, with everyone writing Christian off, will prove to be a HUGE mistake if 'Maga does indeed go over and go over clean, as everyone's preassumptions will be proved correct, that Christian can't beat Umaga, he doesn't have what it takes etc. etc. etc.

It's such a hard booking decision for you, because either guy could be damaged by the loss. Umaga is hotter than ever right now, so it's only natural for you to want to pull the trigger on his title win and not fuck the MITB contract over yet again (poor Edge ) but Christian is such a brilliant babyface champion. I hate to use the cliche, but he really is a breath of fresh air to all the other champions out there. I know everyone moans that he's overused as a champion in BTB, but if ANYONE can show me a successful or even slightly good thread other than this one where he's a champion, then I'll be really fucking surprised. He's amazing. His feud with Trips was great. His feud with Kennedy was great. His mini-feud with Shelton was great. I just want it to keep going and going and going. He could feud with Angle, Rey, Benjamin properly once he loses the IC strap, and many others. Plus, we NEED to see the WrestleMania rematch between him and Cena where Cena either TURNS heel or is already one. Would such a match need the title? Not really. Would it help given Cena's character? Fuck yes.

So yeah, I'll be pulling for CC in this one, and you never know, he might just pull it out the bag. The booking certainly suggests he will. But I think you just love your big ole' Samoan a wee bit too much to let him leave SummerSlam empty handed.

7. WWE Championship Match:
Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam

You've really stepped it up in recent weeks with Orton's character. I now COMPLETELY disagree with TKoW about his championship run. I think some people (aka WWE/F fans) are just uncomfortable with a dick heel constantly winning. And for TKoW moaning about Orton getting pinned in a tag team match ... so WHAT?! That's basic booking. Dick heels always find a way to win ... when the title's on the line. But when it isn't ... they sometimes, not always, lose. This makes the fans think that there is SOME possibility that they'll lose when they face the Babyface Of The Month challenger. I need to teach that boy about booking [/arrogance].

But yeah, Van Dam has had Orton on the back foot since he came back, but for the Punt to Dreamer last week. As probably EVERYONE has already said, Orton will win this one, but not clean like he pinned RVD at Judgment Day. I see some kind of screwy finish, leading to the eventual ladder or ECW Rules match between the two further down the line. I don't ever see Van Dam winning the title back from Orton, and I really don't know who you're planning on having take the belt from him eventually. Personally I'm pulling for London, but considering the lack of imagination with people in BTB, I'm probably on my own in that one.

Oh, and I love you really, TKoW

8. World Tag Team Championships | Tables Ladders and Chairs Match:
!!THE FINAL CHAPTER - LOSERS LEAVE RAW!!
MNM vs. Straight Edge

I'm not a fan of TLC matches really, but that be because they've been so overused in real life that I'm sick to death of them. You, on the other hand, have barely used the stipulation, so it's kind of unfair that a bring by baggage to this. Straight Edge SHOULD win here. They got their big moments at WM and Backlash, but I understand why you had MNM win the titles back. You needed to sustain RAW's tag team division for a few more months whilst you built up/brought in some new teams. And it's not like the feud between these two was completely stale. All you had to do was spice things up with a monstrous stipulation like this, and BINGO, everyon forgives and forgets.

Logic would suggest that Punk & Helms win, and go on to feud with The Entourage, British Lions (Are they still together?), The Master Craftsmen (yeah, I think they're jumping) and the debuting Angels of Anarchy, with MNM heading over to SmackDown to feud with the new BABYFACE WWE Tag Team Champions. And as you're a logical man, I think that is what you will do.

2. WWE Tag Team Championships Match:
Americas Most Wanted vs. The Caribbean Connection

Although it would be HILARIOUS if AMW somehow managed to win this thing given their behaviour recently, yeah, it would make the others teams on SD look like chumps. The CC are a very nice new babyface team, so a win for them here in their first title shot following a BIG feud with Albright & Haas would be logical booking. It would be natural for them to then feud with The Master Craftsmen, but I think you might be done with that feud (hence my previous prediction) so MNM, AMW again, Los Latinos and The Daredevils will provide the competition for them for the future, which I am VERY happy with.

1. WWE Intercontinental Championship | Triple Threat Match:
Shelton Benjamin vs. Matt Hardy vs. William Regal

Benjamin hasn't really had the belt that long, but he's looked pretty strong going into this match, so I think you're looking for a title switch here. On a side note, I really wish you'd give us another lengthy IC title run. Feels like we haven't had one for a while. Regal has kind of come out of nowhere to insert himself in this feud, but given the location I really can't see anyone else winning. Regal as champion COULD be brilliant if you book him right, but I know for some frankly bizarre reason you don't even like him. Could it be ... anti-English?

5. WWE United States Championship Match:
Paul London vs. M.V.P

I'm fairly certain that MVP will get the belt eventually (at least I certainly hope so), but not tonight. London's lost a few times recently, with Porter getting the upperhand in this feud clearly. Also, this feud is only really beginning, and given the talent of the two men involved, I think you could have this go on for a while. London by a hair for me.

9. Womens Championship Match:
Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix

She's new(ish) and very, very exciting. I think you'll give her the belt for a while and let Mickie/Gail chase her. This feud NEEDS to end with Beth on top for the sake of the division.

10. !!THE WRESTLEMANIA REMATCH!!
~ STREETFIGHT ~
Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar

I'm not quite as big on this feud as everyone else, but that's probably just because I can't get over still seeing Lesnar in 2007 and I've always found Trips about as entertaining as tap water. However, you have built this rematch BEUTIFULLY. A really, REALLY well built clash that has got over the epicness of it on every level. I wish more people in this section would take a look at the way you build feuds. It really sets you apart from the herd. As for the result, I think the damage done to Lesnar a few weeks back is your way over letting Trips win in a semi clean way, whilst also giving Brock a slight babyface excuse. So I see Trips winning following some kind of shot to Lesnar's already damaged head.

6. ~ FIRST TIME EVER ~
John Cena vs. Mr. Kennedy w/The Miz

This has been a very strange feud. Strange, but very interesting. Both men could be on the slide. Cena's is leading to an eventual heel turn way down the line, but any slide for Kennedy would lead to him returning to the mid-card. Cena will NEVER, EVER leave the main event. It's just common sense. Therefore, though it might not be the popular decision, I think Kennedy HAS to go over in order to keep him in the main event. I'm sure it won't be clean, hence Miz's presence at ringside, but as long as you're not putting Miz in the ring, I can tolerate that annoying prick's presence.

3. One on One:
Edge vs. The Undertaker

Another hard one to call. Before 'Taker's loss to Orton a few weeks ago thanks to Edge, I had Edge down to get the win here to resume his endless pursuit of the World Title. However, now I'm not sure. I'm still leaning slightly towards Edge, as 'Taker just squashed JBL on PPV, so he's already looking strong. At this point 'Taker is basically a special attraction character anyway, so coming in every now and then to put the next big thing over is fine with me.

4. Grudge Match:
Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle

You know how much I loved the beginning to this feud, and I hope this goes all the way to the eventual Mask vs. Medals mask, with Angle wanting Rey's mask for already stated reasons and Rey wanting Kurt's most prized possessions to humiliate him. How do you get there? You have the heel win the first encounter of course in some kind of bullshit way to continue the heat. Angle gets it for me.

Also, if it wasn't for Shelton/Matt/Regal, I'd LOVE for this to be the opener as a nice throwback to 2002.

Pre-Show 20 Man Battle Royal:

2. Predict the match order (not counting the Pre-show battle royal) Done. It's a bit random, but I like imaginative cards.
3. Longest match Christian/Umaga

5. Will the womens championship match even happen?? Yup.
6. On Smackdown, Brent Albright and Charlie Haas promised to be at Summerslam, but what impact/role will the Master Craftsmen have on the show?? Yeah, I think they're jumping to RAW. I just hope you remeber Albright's KotR.
7.Predict the final four of the pre-show battle royal Cade, Doane, Batista and Nemeth

Am I excited for this?

Default Re: Being The Booker

Right now, I'm six (of 11) matches into Summerslam, and since I'm free all this weekend, could be - COULD - be on course to post Summerslam as soon as next Sunday. I wont rush to make it at that time however, and ultimately, could still end up posting the show the following Sunday (18th). How that'll happen, given it's St. Patricks Day weekend should be interesting...

Anyways, for now, here's some news and notes etc. Take it with a pinch of salt. It's internet rumours ffs; only some of it is true...

...

SummerSlam T-3 Hours; Backstage news and notes:

Excitement has reached fever pitch throughout London, as the WWE has taken over the entire city for the past five days, leading into tonight’s event. Despite the majority of superstars complaints over the past couple of weeks of tiredness after the gruelling world tour, spirits are high throughout the majority of the locker room for what is without doubt the biggest Summerslam ever, with a real WrestleMania buzz backstage.

The main event will definitely be Christian vs. Umaga, after rumours earlier in the week of Orton vs. RVD closing the show in order to send the fans home happy by giving RVD the WWE Title, and allow Umaga to win the World title earlier in the night. Whether the confirmation of the World Title match as the main event indicates a ‘happy ending’ for Christian is unclear. Management have been swaying back and forth over the outcome in the match, unsure whether the time is right to end Umaga’s streak or not, with the overriding feeling being that Umaga winning the title in the main event of the PPV could dampen many fans happiness on the night. Win or lose, it’s likely that Christian - with Ricky Hatton in his corner, of course - will stand tall at the end of the show in some fashion, perhaps saving Ricky Hatton from a 2 on 1 beating at the hands of a victorious Umaga and Estrada, and take something positive from the night, and end the evening on a somewhat positive note.

With the main event slot confirmed, the order of other matches on the show have been switched around all day long. Initially when the line up was being drafted, the Kurt Angle Rey Mysterio encounter was a likely opener - following on from their opener five years ago at the same event, but as time has passed, it’s felt that with the heat behind the feud, opening the show with that match wouldn’t work, with agents wanting a less ‘hostile’ match to warm the fans up. That would make the United States Title match a leading candidate to open the show. The issue between London and MVP hasn’t had too long to build, and if it were to be placed in the middle of the show, could be lost in the shuffle. Given the talent of both men - London especially - it’s thought they could build the fans up nicely for the bigger matches to come later in the night. If it does open proceedings, expect a successful retention for the Golden Boy, but a later slot could indicate a title change.

Another candidate for the ‘curtain jerker’ slot is the triple threat match for the Intercontinental Title. A lot of pressure has been building over the last week that William Regal NEEDS to win the title, with the partisan British audience likely to be unwilling to accept anything less - and indications from the Fan Axxess during the week suggests that will be the case, with massive support for the veteran from Blackpool. There is some thought that Regal failing to win the title could deflate the rabid fans for the remainder of the evening, whilst a win could ensure a hot audience for the night. As the debate continues for Regal, a win for Matt Hardy is DEFINITELY NOT on the cards though, mainly due to the Regal factor, with some fears that the fans in attendance would turn on Hardy for stealing their mans moment. The favourite for victory though is the current champion, with management extremely high on Shelton Benjamin and Theodore Long, keen to keep the title on The Black Diamond for the foreseeable future. However, with the momentum riding behind Regal, managements hands could well be forced into a title change - with only themselves to blame, having pushed Regal into the match initially just to get the Brit on the show. If this match opens the show, Regal wins. If it doesn’t open, the victory is up for debate.

It’s unknown what the plan is going ahead with AMW. It’s likely that they will be shown up tonight for sure, and most likely will lose the titles in the process given the series of vignettes of the champions disrespecting the challenges coming their way on Smackdown. It’s thought losing the titles will be the spark to reignite the duo, and snap them out of their complacency, to try and win back the titles. What that means for the TLC match is unknown. With Melina on Raw, it’s not certain whether the company wants to split the group of MNM, and as Chris Daniels and Doug Williams get set to debut, their alignment upon their debut - which has been rather ambiguous in their vignettes - will likely be determined by the winners of TLC, with the Angels of Anarchy set to jump straight into a title feud with the champions. A move to Smackdown for Punk and Helms could seem more plausible, as a break up has been rumoured since they dropped the titles two months ago - added to the fact that MNM would be playing second fiddle to AMW as the top heel team on Smackdown. Punk has been touted as a potential main event level talent in the future, whilst Helms is also rated as a steady hand, and the pair could be useful on the Smackdown roster for the upper mid card in Punks case, and the reinvigorating Cruiserweight division for Helms. Expectations are high for the TLC match though, and some believe it could and perhaps SHOULD steal the show.

Despite Brock Lesnar recently making noises about buying out the remainder of his contract to pursue a career in the fast growing world of MMA, he is still the heavy favourite to defeat Triple H tonight and end their feud. Lesnar has been positioned as the biggest face on Smackdown since WrestleMania, and the company are likely to block any move he makes to try and exit the WWE after five years of building many of their biggest angles around The Iron Man. With Triple H reportedly having to be talked into taking a break from his sabbatical to help add further star power to the show - which he initially intended to have from Backlash until the end of the year - it’s likely he will be gone from television again after tonight. Some sources have claimed that The Game will be triumphant in order to set up a potential rubber match down the line - potentially at Cyber Sunday next month - and THEN take further time off to heal, but that would seem unlikely, with Summerslam the perfect setting to close the heated rivalry, as opposed to a B-List PPV event.

It would appear imperative for both Mister Kennedy and Edge to pick up wins over their bigger name opponents, but their fate may well rest in how other matches turn out. Creative believe that while wins for both would solidify them as top tier players, a loss wouldn’t necessarily hinder them either, and could afford some different creative outlets for both coming out of the event. It’s thought that while one of the two WILL win, it’s felt backstage that it is unlikely that BOTH John Cena and The Undertaker would suffer losses at such a big show, with the two being arguably the biggest faces in the company, along with Christian and Brock Lesnar.

Batista has made no secret of his disappointment to miss out of the biggest show of the summer, and it’s been reported that The Animal is considering his options, believing he’s fallen out of favour with the top brass after his failed wellness policy test prior to WrestleMania, which threw a number of plans into disarray. It’s thought that he also feels slighted to be placed in a meaningless battle royal on the pre-show, whilst other ‘big’ names such as Brent Albright and Charlie Haas have been spared the demotion to the pre-show. To appease the big man, it’s expected that he will win the battle royal during the pre-show, but it may not be enough to make the unhappy superstar content with his position in the company.

The outcome of the Womens title match may not be known until the final moments before the match actually happens. If the show is set to be pushed for time, then expect Mickie to either forfeit the title, or lose in a quick fashion with her injuries a built in ‘out’ for a quick loss. However, should the show remain ‘tight’ then the two ladies should be able to have the chance to impress, with the pair receiving rave reviews from house show matches throughout the world tour. Regardless of the outcome, there are said to be plans to keep the two locked together for the foreseeable future, with a ‘Best-Of 5 or 7’ series said to be in the works down the line. That news is sure to disappoint Gail Kim and even the reinvigorated Victoria, who are likely to have to wait in the wings to get involved in the title scene in the womens division, should it be dominated by Mickie James and Beth Phoenix for such a period of time.

However, in the biggest news of the day, CHRIS JERICHO - currently out of contract - IS in the UK as he tours with Fozzy during the festival season, and HAS been spotted in London over the weekend, could well make a ‘shock’ appearance at Summerslam. Despite being out of contract, Jericho is keen to return, but just not currently. Jericho was written out of storylines as he fell victim to a Randy Orton punt kick, and there is some feeling that Jericho could show up at Summerslam to screw Orton out of the title, and set up his ready made feud with the current WWE Champion for when he is ready to make his return. Despite that, the current plan going forward has been to keep the belt ON the champion, with the feeling being that whilst RVD’s run was nice last year, a second reign at this point - apart from the sight of seeing him gain his redemption on Orton - wouldn’t have much juice. Also added to that caveat is that Van Dam is only currently scheduled for a certain amount of dates, having renegotiated his own contract early in the spring, and is unlikely to appear on many live shows. Still, a potential Chris Jericho appearance on the show could happen, if only to create a buzz worthy ‘shock’ headline.

---

I'll post the pre-show sometime next weekend probably (but if it looks like I am able to finish the show off in time to post it next weekend, I might just forego the preshow, and list the result of the battle royal, skipping over the other stuff) but please, keep predictions coming in the meantime.

I'm really sorry about the delay folks. Been sidetracked the last couple of weeks, but I will *fingers crossed* have Summerslam done and dusted by NEXT Sunday.

Just wanted to let people know in case you thought I'd fallen off the face of the earth

Guess I should cancel the funeral gifts then.

Anyways, here are my predictions:

11. World Heavyweight Championship Match:
World Heavyweight Champion Christian w/ Ricky ‘Hitman’ Hatton
VS.
Mr. Money in the Bank; Unbeaten & Undefeated Umaga w/ Armando Estrada

You seem to be pushing 'Mags to the moon so why not?

10. WWE Championship Match:
Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam

Just think Orton should keep the strap for now.

1. World Tag Team Championships | Tables Ladders and Chairs Match:
!!THE FINAL CHAPTER - LOSERS LEAVE RAW!!
MNM vs. Straight Edge

Send Straight Edge to SD! as part of the Tag Team division revamp.

5. WWE Tag Team Championships Match:
Americas Most Wanted vs. The Caribbean Connection

Explained below.

2. WWE Intercontinental Championship | Triple Threat Match:

Shelton Benjamin vs. Matt Hardy vs. William Regal

Regal would be frickin' awesome as champion. Plus it's in London so this would be the logical choice.

3. WWE United States Championship Match:
Paul London vs. M.V.P

I like London. No other reason.

4. Womens Championship Match:
Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix

Not really sure about this one but I'll go with Phoenix.

9. !!THE WRESTLEMANIA REMATCH!!
~ STREETFIGHT ~
Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar

Need a couple of face victories and Lesnar is on his way/currently the face of the company.

6. ~ FIRST TIME EVER ~
John Cena vs. Mr. Kennedy w/The Miz

Great way to give Kennedy some more steam and it won't really affect Cena's overness

8. One on One:
Edge vs. The Undertaker

'Taker win. No reason really.

7. Grudge Match:
Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle

Not sure why again.

---

Pre-Show 20 Man Battle Royal:
Batista, Garrison Cade, Jeff Hardy, Burchill, Tyson Tomko, X-Pac, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, Ken Doane, Jamie Noble, Chavo Guerrero, Super Crazy, Evan Bourne, Hardcore Holly, Cody Rhodes, Nick Nemeth, Chris Masters, Rhyno, Mark Henry, Scotty Too Hotty

Nick Nemeth for World Champ plz .

!! THE PREDICTION CONTEST !!
1. Predict the winners (12 points) Done.
2. Predict the match order (not counting the Pre-show battle royal) (11 points) Done.
3. Longest match (3 points) Christian - 'Mags.
4. Shortest match (3 points) AMW vs Carribean Connection
5. Will the womens championship match even happen?? (2 points) Yep.
6. On Smackdown, Brent Albright and Charlie Haas promised to be at Summerslam, but what impact/role will the Master Craftsmen have on the show?? (5 points) Attack The Carribean Connection before their title match.
7.Predict the final four of the pre-show battle royal (4 points)
Batista, Cade, Nemeth, Kenny.

Good luck with what should be an epic Summerslam Wolf Beast
