Default Re: Being The Booker

Sorry I haven't commented much lately, Wolf. Really enjoyed the stuff between AMW and Booker/Elijah on SD. A great way to return some interest to the division and break up the face team.

Official Card for WWE Saturday Nights Main Event:
Date: 23rd June 2007
Location: The Pyramid, Memphis TN
Event Music: POD, Lights Out

2007 KING OF THE RING TOURNAMENT:

*
~ QUARTER FINALS ~
Umaga vs. William Regal
Shelton Benjamin vs. Matt Hardy
---
Carlito vs. Brent Albright
Charlie Haas vs. Paul London

*
~ SEMI FINALS ~
Umaga vs. Matt Hardy
Via DQ. No way you would have emphasised this rule so much otherwise, plus it's a good reason for Matt to lose in the final by getting his ass kicked here.
---
Carlito vs. Paul London

*
~ GRAND FINAL ~
Matt Hardy vs. Carlito
Bit of an odd pick, I know, but I honestly can't see anyone else getting it. Umaga would be a bit of a waste seeing how much of a push he already has; you don't care for Regal; you don't care for Haas, plus he and Albright are probably going after the tag belts; It's really between London, Hardy, Benjamin and Carlito, and out of the four, I think 'Lito could do the most with the push given his mic skills, although I'm still pulling for Shelton to pick up the win and turn The Brotherhood into the dominant stable and T-Lo into the dominant manager they deserve to be.

***

Special Attraction | Eight Person Tag Team Match:
Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, Edge & Batista vs.
Christian, John Cena, Kurt Angle & Mr. Kennedy
Since The Great American Bash is next, I think it's best to give the SmackDown winners the added momentum.

Phenom?? Or Phoney??
~ John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield awaits The Undertakers response ~

Bonus Questions:
1) Predict the winners of each match (including the projected semi finals and final in the KOTR) - Done.
2) What will be the longest Quarter Final match? - Shelton/Hardy.
3) Will The Undertaker accept the challenge from JBL?? If so, what match will he choose at The Great American Bash?? - Unfortunately yes, since both he and JBL are a bit boring, but I'm sure we'll get a Casket Match, as Bradshaw's so fat he couldn't do anything else.
4) Which superstars will a)score the fall & b)take the fall in the 8 Man Tag?? Lesnar scores the pin on Cena after inevitable shenanigans.
5) What match will open the show?? Hardy/Benjamin.

*
~ QUARTER FINALS ~
Umaga vs. William Regal
Shelton Benjamin vs. Matt Hardy

~ SEMI FINALS ~
Umaga vs. Matt Hardy - By DQ

Carlito vs. Paul London - Kendrick will cost London

*
~ GRAND FINAL ~
Matt Hardy
vs.
Carlito - Honestly, out of Matt/London/Mags/Carlito it's tough, and I can't rule out Shelton either, but I feel that a heel being KOTR always helps. King Carlito sounds good and could have promise. Hardy will be brutalized by Umaga in the SF so he won't look too weak if he loses, and Benji may even involve himself too.

Special Attraction | Eight Person Tag Team Match:
Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, Edge & Batista vs.
Christian, John Cena, Kurt Angle & Mr. Kennedy - Simply coz they have the bigger names (Kennedy just doesn't compare to the other 7)

PREDICTION TEMPLATE

Official Card for WWE Saturday Nights Main Event:

Location: The Pyramid, Memphis TN
Event Music: POD, Lights Out

2007 KING OF THE RING TOURNAMENT:

*
~ QUARTER FINALS ~
Umaga vs. William Regal
3. Umaga is a beast. As much as I love Regal, can't see a guy who went over HBK losing to him.
2. Shelton Benjamin vs. Matt Hardy
Benji won the last affair. Got to even shit up.
---
1. Carlito vs. Brent Albright
Albright's going to the tag division. Simple logic, plus 'Lito is coming off a damn hot program with MVP, and looking pretty strong in the process.
4. Charlie Haas vs. Paul London
Your pet project of sorts isn't losing to a tag team specialist.

*
~ SEMI FINALS ~
6. Umaga / William Regal vs. Shelton Benjamin / Matt Hardy
Gonna' say Hardy will get the win by DQ. 'Mags looks beastly, and Hardy advances. Umaga doesn't need the title of KOTR.
---
7. Carlito / Brent Albright vs. Charlie Haas / Paul London
'Lito to beat London, probably thanks to Kendrick.

*
9. ~ GRAND FINAL ~
Umaga / William Regal / Shelton Benjamin / Matt Hardy
vs.
Carlito / Brent Albright / Charlie Haas / Paul London
Can't think of a better way to capitlise on his momentum.

8. Special Attraction | Eight Person Tag Team Match:

Just think SD needs to look good ahead of the PPV.

Done.
2) What will be the longest Quarter Final match? - (3 points)
Benji/Hardy.
3) Will The Undertaker accept the challenge from JBL?? If so, what match will he choose at The Great American Bash?? - (6 points total)
Yes. Casket.
4) Which superstars will a)score the fall & b)take the fall in the 8 Man Tag?? (6 points total)
Brock Lesnar to pin John Cena.
5) What match will open the show?? (2 points)
Carlito/Albright.

Sorry I haven't commented much lately Wolfy; very strapped for time these days. Just before I post my predictions, I'll just repeat what I said before: this King of The Ring Tournament is absolutely fantastic. Having eight guys involved who could all potentially win (well maybe not Regal but he's still a threat somewhat) makes the whole thing so much interesting. Kudos to you.

PREDICTION TEMPLATE

Official Card for WWE Saturday Nights Main Event:
Date: 23rd June 2007
Location: The Pyramid, Memphis TN
Event Music: POD, Lights Out

2007 KING OF THE RING TOURNAMENT:

~ QUARTER FINALS ~
Umaga vs. William Regal
As much as I love Regal, he has no chance.

Shelton Benjamin vs. Matt Hardy
I very much doubt we'll be seeing Shelton vs. Umaga anytime soon.

---
Carlito vs. Brent Albright
You may have a thing for Albright, but as has been mentioned, he and Haas belong in the tag team division. Plus Carlito vs. London makes for a very exciting semi-final.

Charlie Haas vs. Paul London
You've been building London since the dawn of time.

---

~ SEMI FINALS ~
Umaga vs. Matt Hardy
Here's where things start to get tricky. I know a DQ finish has been mentioned to allow Matt to get through to the final, but tbh, I'd see that as a poor decision. It's the KOTR tournament; and an advance to the final for Matt by DQ does nothing for him. That being said, 'Mags isn't ready to have his streak beaten yet. So the Raw MITB holder goes through to the final and Matt puts in a great effort.

---

Carlito vs. Paul London
I can't think of anything that'd give you more satisfaction in your old age than to see your two most treasured pet projects face off in the KOTR final.

---

~ GRAND FINAL ~
Umaga vs. Paul London
I know I'm going out on a limb here, since he doesn't really need it, but with the way things have been set up I can't see it going any other way. Plus, I see this push of 'Mags similar to that of Lesnar in 2002, an unstoppable force that bulldozes (pun intended) his way through everything and anything to get to the world title. It's possible London could get screwed by Kendrick here too.

***

Special Attraction | Eight Person Tag Team Match:
Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, Edge & Batista vs.
Christian, John Cena, Kurt Angle & Mr. Kennedy
Either side is strong enough to win this but as others have said, SD has the next PPV and so could probably use the momentum more.

Phenom?? Or Phoney??
~ John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield awaits The Undertakers response ~

Bonus Questions:
1) Predict the winners of each match (including the projected semi finals and final in the KOTR) - (8 points) Done.
2) What will be the longest Quarter Final match? - (3 points) Surely Shelton/Matt.
3) Will The Undertaker accept the challenge from JBL?? If so, what match will he choose at The Great American Bash?? - (6 points total) Yes he will, and it'll be a Casket Match so you can finally get rid of Bradshaw for good.
4) Which superstars will a)score the fall & b)take the fall in the 8 Man Tag?? (6 points total) I think Lesnar will pin Angle to make up for what happened on Smackdown.
5) What match will open the show?? (2 points) Haas/London.

I'm not that disappointed because this allows me some time to read Smackdown, as I haven't had a chance to yet. Yeah, just take your time and all that encouraging stuff.

Anyway, I really can't be bothered writing any proper comments on Raw, at the moment. I will say that I enjoyed the show a lot though, especially the main promos of the show. Also, Shelton Benjamin and Matt Hardy segment was really fun, and Mysterio was a pretty nice choice of an opponent for Umaga.

Yeah, I'm going to read Smackdown now. Really looking forward to SME too.

You go and get us all excited, and then...

I can now call you a slacker all I want, Wolf, because I got my show up on time

I forgot to ask, just how 'full' is SNME? Recap? Extensive recap?

Sunday was always a tad unrealistic for me to get it done. Struggling for motivation at the moment .

It's set out like Raw or Smackdown. Promos in full, matches in fairly extensive recap form, but not in full.
