Smackdown Feedback

Opening the show with Arn Anderson is a little bit bland; however regarding what happened last week I really think it is the correct decision. Jericho out of action for six months makes me very upset, so I really hope that it some how turns out that it’s not as bad as it first seems, although I doubt it very much. Naming Edge as the number one contender is a brave move, as heel against heel rarely works, but regarding the situation, I really couldn’t see you doing anything else. So, now we’ve got Edge/Dinsmore for later on, and a main event feud to send us to Judgment Day. Just my random rhoughts now, this Orton/Edge thing has the chance to be insane, with both being absolutely nuts and what not, so I really hope you utilize this feud, and make it all it can be.

at Albright’s reason as to why he attacked London from behind. I swear I love Albright, he’s such a typical, olden day heel, it’s a shame he is not going to be United States Champion for much longer, as I still see him losing at Judgment Day.

What an entertaining way to start the show, with a pretty epic battle royal. I’m not going to give my thoughts on every elimination, however I would like to say that the elimination of Chavo Guerrero by Brian Kendrick did not go unnoticed, as he slowly continues he’s turn to the heel side of things. As for the ending, it was pretty cool, with London winning like I expected, and also finding a way to continue the Carlito/MVP feud. Overall, this battle royal really served it’s purpose setting some stuff up, even if only three guys could realistically win the match.

MVP going nuts is completely understandable; it’s probably good that Carlito has gone as well, as he needs to be not injured for when they fight each other at JD.

A good win for Finlay over Charlie Haas in this little side feud, and since its one and one, I guess it could be continuing, although I think at this stage it’s a little dull, perhaps something could be added to it.

I loved the Randy Orton interview. Short… sweet… and to the point. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, and once again, I love the way you’re putting over his sadistic side, as he clearly has plans to put everybody he faces on the shelf.

John Bradshaw Layfield defeating Jamie Noble was always going to happen; it was simply a nice way to get him back in the good books. Nothing special, just smart superstar building.

Hulk Hogan is going to be here on Smackdown next week, and that’s pretty cool, however I really hope he doesn’t take up to much air time, because there’s really only so much Hogan does, before he gets boring, so I’m really hoping for JBL to belt the fuck out of him next week, and keep him out for a long time before Judgment Day.

The tag team division is still really weak at this stage, as shown by the match up set for tonight, and even this backstage segment, even recapped, was a little dull. The AMW inbred jokes probably would have been cool, but besides that, I’m not sure anything else would have really made this exciting. One thing I’m really looking forward to is the fact that Booker T and Elijah Burke will be next to challenge judging by this segment, and at the moment, they’re the best challengers you’ve got.

The New Wave segment was pretty much Orton getting the troops ready, and I don’t mind all that, and it seems as if they are really trying to make an impact on Smackdown, so I’m interested to see just where you go with them, as I really believe that at the moment, they are still at a cross road.

AMW OWN The Murdoch Twins, just like they should have, and now I’m intrigued to see what happens next in the tag division. I really hope the Booker/Burke thing happens, but I can just never be sure, until it actually happens.

Another interesting segment with Kendrick, continuing his slow turn to a heel. Chavo and Crazy being silly enough to believe him is just laughable, and I loved the smile Kendrick got when talking about double gold. Either way, this was a pretty good segment, continuing this storyline, and I can’t wait until Kendrick/Chavo Guerrero kicks into gear.

Garrison Cade getting the win over Jeff Hardy was something that I did not expect, although I’m happy for the whole New Wave getting over situation.

Carlito/MVP for JD? Hell yeah! Although I wasn’t a huge fan of the way MVP reacted. I would have wanted him to be happy, after Carlito cost him the match, perhaps showing off a sign of his aggressive side, but having him look ungrateful, just takes a bit away from that, imo.

Edge short and sweet also, that’s pretty top notch!

Edge getting the win in this main event was always going to happen, although I don’t like Edge not waiting to JD for a shot. I don’t know I just feel like him against Orton could be done better than a one week rush job, so hopefully there is some type of swerve. A pretty good main event anyway, and I was happy to see that Dinsmore went ten minutes with Edge.

Overall, it was an okay show, without being anything special, it could have even been a little dull at times, but I guess it does the job, passing some time, and setting up a pretty awesome main event for next week.

6) World Heavyweight Championship;
Hell in a Cell Match:

Christian vs. Triple H
Christian is not ready to lose the title, Trips needs to be out of the picture for awhile.

1) Intercontinental Championship Match:
Rey Mysterio vs. Shelton Benjamin
The New Brotherhood seems to have brought new life to Benji, while Mysterio seems to be just putting along. I really believe the gold will do more for Benji at this point in time.

3) World Tag Team Championships Match:
Straight Edge vs. MNM
Can't lose yet.

2) Womens Championship Match:
Alexis Laree vs. Victoria
Gonna get the victory, to continue what's happening with Melina and Beth.

5) All or Nothing:
~ If John Cena wins, Mr. McMahon must relinquish sole ownership of the WWE, and allow Linda McMahon to take the company public again ~
~ If Mr. Mahons representative wins, he will be permitted to proceed with total ownership of the company ~

John Cena vs. Kurt Angle
I just can't see Cena being fired, tbh.

4) Raw Exclusive Money in the Bank Match:
Six Pack Challenge Match | One Fall to a Finish:

Shawn Michaels vs. Umaga vs. Tyson Tomko vs. Matt Hardy vs. William Regal vs. Mr. Kennedy
Other than him, I'd say Michaels or 'Mags, but they will be feuding with each other, which leaves Kennedy to take the briefcase.

*One point for each winner correctly predicted*
_____

BONUS QUESTIONS:
1) Predict the match order (One point for each predicted correctly)

Done.

2) Will there be any surprise appearances?? If yes, name one. (Three points)
Nope.

3) Who will be pinned in the Money in the Bank match?? (Three points)
Tomko. I don't feel he belongs.

4) What will be the longest match?? (Two points)
HIAC has got to be, otherwise you're wasting the match type.

Can't wait for it, man.

6.) World Heavyweight Championship;
Hell in a Cell Match:

Christian vs. Triple H

Too soon to end his reign, a great win for Christian before he moves onto Angle

4.) Intercontinental Championship Match:
Rey Mysterio vs. Shelton Benjamin
The Brotherhood needs creditabilty, and the IC Title defanately gives them that

1.) World Tag Team Championships Match:
Straight Edge vs. MNM

No Reason for MNM to win the belts back here IMO, Straight Edge will go over and continue to build their creditabilty as Champs

2.) Womens Championship Match:
Alexis Laree vs. Victoria

The only way Alexis loses is Melina interfearence which won't happen, IMO

5.) All or Nothing:

Angle wins with Montrael Screwjob help from Vince, making him the top contender but leaving some room for Linda to filter Vince

3.) Raw Exclusive Money in the Bank Match:

Default Re: Being The Booker

5 - World Heavyweight Championship;
Hell in a Cell Match:
Christian © vs. Triple H – The obvious thing to say would be that he’s only just won it, and therefore he shouldn’t be losing it, and with how this match came about and the lack of (in my opinion) build-up to the Cell – I don’t see Christian losing under these circumstances. I don’t know where this feud is going to be honest with you, as pre-Mania’ I thought that it’d be Cena/Christian in this scenario. Triple H losing would be of detriment to any plans you have between them in the future, so I think something may just happen in order for him to lose and to make him remain strong.

1 - Intercontinental Championship Match:
Rey Mysterio © vs. Shelton BenjaminWell the win in the six-man tag not long ago surely gives him momentum, and factor in the that he’s coming off the back of a loss at ‘Mania and is a part of The Brotherhood – I see a win for Shelton on the cards. With all other titles being retained as well I think this needs to happen; both for the show but also for the title – I don’t see Rey going on a long run, and having Shelton (and in my estimation going on a very long run with it) get it back after losing it at the ‘Rumble makes perfect sense.

3 - World Tag Team Championships Match
Straight Edge © vs. MNM – I’m expecting big things from this bout and no doubt you’ll deliver. Having only just won them, simply – I see them retaining. The division is strong and a sudden title-change would not be in keeping with how I see you’re treating this division. With the chips down, and with them winning it in an eight-man tag in mind, they have to win this one. Losing it would make them look weak, but the same could be said for MNM I guess, so in that respect it’s the hardest one to predict.

4 - Womens Championship Match:
Alexis Laree vs. Victoria – I haven’t been following this one I’m afraid. All I know is that they're not directly following a MITB match.

6 - All or Nothing:
~ If John Cena wins, Mr. McMahon must relinquish sole ownership of the WWE, and allow Linda McMahon to take the company public again ~
~ If Mr. Mahons representative wins, he will be permitted to proceed with total ownership of the company ~
John Cena vs. Kurt Angle
Cena losing is the one-bit that throws me off, but I'm certain that something controversial is going to happen in order for him to lose (hence why I've got this down as the final match). If there's no screw-job, then Cena's winning this and it's coming in fifth place on the card in behind the HIAC match where I'm pretty sure something will go down. I don't forsee two shockers in one night. But yeah, I want an end to this and I'm sure we're going to get it either at Backlash or pretty soon.

2 - Raw Exclusive Money in the Bank Match:
Six Pack Challenge Match | One Fall to a Finish:
Shawn Michaels vs. Umaga vs. Tyson Tomko vs. Matt Hardy vs. William Regal vs. Mr. Kennedy
Tomko, Hardy and Regal haven’t been booked to win this and I can’t see any of the three in a scenario where they cash it in, so it’s down to Kennedy, Umaga and Michaels. Shawn isn’t someone who I could ever see realistically cashing it in, and besides the point of M.I.T.B is to get someone over (though Orton winning it is a prime example of someone established bucking the trend) so he’s out of the equation. I’m confident that it will be Kennedy winning this. Though the thought of a babyface champion coming off of a grueling victory only to hear Umaga’s imposing music and to see him striding down the apron is far from crazy, I honestly don’t think it’ll happen. You’ve booked Kennedy like you see him with a future, what with him winning the KOTR and personally I believe that where he stands now in this thread he will go far. Winning MITB is the way to go forward and the next step for him. I can see you doing a much better job than the WWE did IRL with it.

BONUS QUESTIONS:

1) Predict the match order (One point for each predicted correctly) k.

2) Will there be any surprise appearances?? If yes, name one. (Three points) Yes, but I don't know who. If there is then it's certainly going down in either of the two final matches, whichever has a screwy finish. I'm going with Shane making a run-in for the hell of it.

3) Who will be pinned in the Money in the Bank match?? (Three points) William Regal. Shawn or Umaga aren't getting pinned, Tomko could in theory have a title-future, Hardy is a babyface and Kennedy would go over a heel so further his character and Regal isn't doing much.

4) What will be the longest match?? (Two points) Christian vs. Trips, HIAC.

3/6.

Default Re: Being The Booker

I had planned on doing a pre-show news and notes bit, but due to time constraints I'll be foregoing that. I just want to update everyone / anyone interested on what's going on. I had planned on getting caught up with reviews I owed by now, but the festive season is a bit of a bitch and I've been required to hijack a number of staff doo's over the last week or so.

However, after I get Backlash posted, I'll be taking time off from actually booking, so in that time frame, I'll have more opportunities to get caught up. Sorry to anyone that had been expecting something from me by now, but I'll get there eventually

Backlash will be posted tomorrow, so it's a last chance for anyone looking to make any predictions...

All or Nothing:

~ If John Cena wins, Mr. McMahon must relinquish sole ownership of the WWE, and allow Linda McMahon to take the company public again ~

~ If Mr. Mahons representative wins, he will be permitted to proceed with total ownership of the company ~

John Cena vs. Kurt Angle

It has been dubbed the most historically significant match in WWE history, and with good reason - the entire future wellbeing of the WWE is on the line. Should Kurt Angle defeat John Cena at Backlash, Mister McMahon will regain full and complete control over all matters concerning the WWE. No more board members to win over, no more shareholders to impress, and no more voices of reason. Good ‘ol J.R has referred to the possibility of Mister McMahon taking full power with the likely outcome being the WWE becoming reminiscent to North Korea, and it’s not hard to figure out why. In the past month, Mister McMahon has yielded his power to indefinitely suspend Brock Lesnar for having the temerity to fight the McMahon Family Empire head on, and he has fired former Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff, after Bischoff refused to remain McMahons puppet. Should Kurt Angle be victorious at Backlash, what type of ramifications will it have on anyone that questions The Boss??
But, should John Cena come out on top in Montreal, the WWE will have witnessed the end of an era - with Mister McMahon being banished from television FOREVER as a result. After nearly a decade of being a central figure on all WWE television, could Backlash be the last stand of the egomaniacal Mister McMahon … in the same arena that he rose to prominence?? In recent months John Cena has been a tremendous thorn in the side of the McMahon Family Empire, ousting Triple H from the main event of WrestleMania, crashing the wedding of Mister McMahons daughter Stephanie, and even shaving the boss bald … but should Cena conquer Angle at Backlash, he will do much more than simply raise the ire of Vince McMahon … he will banish his own boss from the television shows of the company he created.

Intercontinental Championship Match:
Rey Mysterio vs. Shelton Benjamin

In January at the Royal Rumble, Rey Mysterio ended Shelton Benjamins second reign as the Intercontinental Champion. Three months on, and The Black Diamond has come back for revenge. With the new and improved Brotherhood by his side, Benjamin has been on a roll since WrestleMania, defeating Rey Mysterio in a non title environment, to earn this shot. Meanwhile, Mysterio has been on somewhat of a slump in form coming off the back of the Showcase of the Immortals. The champion has lost not only to Benjamin, but was soundly defeated by Mister Kennedy on Draft night. However, this past week on Raw, Mysterio came back, all guns blazing, showing the form of old, that made him Intercontinental Champion. Can the master of the 619 carry that sparkling performance through to Backlash?? Or has the time come for The Brotherhood to once again taste gold??

World Tag Team Championships Match:
Straight Edge vs. MNM

For weeks, MNM avoided defending their titles against Straight Edge with every excuse in the book. Then, once the excuses ran out, MNM used every shortcut in their arsenal to get around the challenge of CM Punk and Gregory Helms. However, after pushing their luck for months, MNM finally came unstuck at WrestleMania, when Straight Edge - albeit, via stipulation, in an eight person tag match - finally became the World Tag Team Champions. Now, it’s MNM that are chasing the champions, but unlike the former champs, Straight Edge aren’t running from the challenge. For months, questions have been asked as to which is the very best duo on Raw, and at Backlash, the questions will be emphatically answered. MNM cannot afford to make excuses, and they cannot afford to run … victory is their only objective this Sunday, and for the competitive champions, they will see this as their defining moment to prove any remaining doubters wrong. Finally, this Sunday, MNM and Straight Edge will battle it out to prove, once and for all, which team deserves to sit on top of the Monday Night mountain.

Raw Exclusive Money in the Bank Match:

Six Pack Challenge Match | One Fall to a Finish:

Shawn Michaels vs. Umaga vs. Tyson Tomko vs. Matt Hardy vs. William Regal vs. Mr. Kennedy

In one of his final acts as Raw General Manager, Eric Bischoff signed this match, as a result of the controversial cash in that Randy Orton succeeded with at WrestleMania, as the then Raw superstar cashed in his shot on the then WWE Champion, and Smackdown superstar, Rob Van Dam. Bischoff, believing his superstar should stay on Raw was adamant that this wouldn’t happen again, and the Raw exclusive Money in the Bank match was created for Backlash. Of the six men involved in this Sundays one fall to a finish contest, only Shawn Michaels has ever tasted World Championship glory, but despite that experience, he comes up against a 350 pound savage in the form of Umaga, who has never been pinned, and never been submitted. With one fall deciding the match though, Umaga will not need to be involved in the decision to lose.
Elsewhere, Matt Hardy has made it clear that his intention is to one day become World Champion, and since coming to Raw, the elder Hardy has impressed in matches against Michaels and Kurt Angle. And while Matt Hardy has impressed since coming to Raw, Mister Kennedy intends on impressing at Backlash, by earning himself a title shot for whenever he pleases. The 2006 King of the Ring has stepped up his own game in recent weeks, setting his sights as high as possible, but standing in his way will be the veteran, William Regal. The Brit has never tasted World Championship gold in his illustrious career, and this Sunday could be one of his final opportunities to do so, as his career winds down. Whilst Regals career is winding down, Tyson Tomko is looking to kick start his own, and step out of the shadows he has found himself in during his entire run in the WWE. Of these six, diverse superstars, only one can walk out of Montreal with a guaranteed title match, good for one full year.

Womens Championship Match:
Alexis Laree vs. Victoria

Two weeks ago on Raw, Victoria earned herself a shot at Alexis Laree, and the opportunity to become Womens champion for the first time in over four years, and whilst the challenge for Laree will have been great enough, the challenge took a different turn this past Monday, as Melina once again involved herself in the business of the champion. It appears that Melina has managed to find ‘dirt’ on her long time rival, and the mention of the name ‘Beth’ almost sent the champion into a comatose state. Can Alexis overcome her fragile mental state to focus on the challenge that awaits this Sunday?? Or has Melina cleverly opened up her own chances of gaining another shot at the Womens championship, by costing her long term foe the title … even before her match with Victoria has begun??

World Heavyweight Championship;
Hell in a Cell Match:
Christian vs. Triple H

Last October, Triple H ended the maiden title reign of Christian under controversial circumstances. That then inspired Christian to partake on his own personal quest to reclaim the title from The Game at WrestleMania, as he overcome obstacle after obstacle to ultimately win the Royal Rumble. Then, it appeared Christian would have his shot at revenge, at the grandest stage of them all … but things didn’t quite go to plan. Captain Charisma DID walk out of WrestleMania 23 as the World Champion, but not at the expense of Triple H. Now, at Backlash, he has the opportunity to finally settle the score with the ten time World Champion.
But, for Triple H, it’s the chance to prove to the world that he still is the top dog in the business, and that WrestleMania would not have had it’s fairytale ending had he stood in Christians way. If it wasn’t personal enough between Triple H and Christian, add in the sadistic Hell in a Cell structure to surround them, and this make or break match for both men becomes a live or die scenario. After Hell in a Cell, the line will be drawn, and one man will reign supreme over the other, once and for all … will it be the current champion, still seeking validation … or will Triple H be proven right, and will Christian lack the killer instinct to succeed at the highest level in the most destructive of devices??

AND NOW, CASTROL GTX PRESENTS, A RAW PRODUCTION OF WWE BACKLASH!!

PYRO

The camera pans around the arena, with the Canadian fans turning up the noise levels as we are on the air.

Jim Ross: There is no more grandeur, there is no more global phenomenon … all that remains is the Backlash, and ladies and gentlemen, the backlash is here. We are live inside the Bell Centre in Montreal, I’m Jim Ross, joined at ringside by The Coach!!

The Coach: WrestleMania may be the Granddaddy of them all J.R, but there is a level of importance tonight at Backlash, that has never been experienced at a WrestleMania. Tonight, the future of the WWE is up in the air. For Mister McMahon, it’s all or nothing tonight!!!

Jim Ross: The wellbeing of the WWE is at stake tonight, and it all hinges on the outcome of the No Holds Barred match between John Cena, and Kurt Angle. It will either be the night that dictatorship reigns supreme, or it will be the very last time that we will see Mister McMahon on WWE television.

The Coach: So much at stake for the boss, and it all rests in the hands of the awesome Kurt Angle.

Jim Ross: Indeed, he is awesome, but from the sublime, to the ridiculous. You are looking, ladies and gentlemen, at the demonic Hell in a Cell structure, that will surround the ring later tonight as Triple H aims to become World Heavyweight Champion for the eleventh time, when he challenges Christian. Folks, if you haven’t seen Hell in a Cell before … you are in for an experience that aint for the weak of heart. The most sadistic, career threatening match in all of professional wrestling, and two men are going to leave it all in there tonight for the biggest prize in the game.

The Coach: The pomp and pageantry has most definitely passed old timer … and it’s been replaced by hell.

**PAPARAZZI**

MNM, joined by Melina, strut onto the stage, with the red carpet rolling out, and the cameramen getting ready for a snapshot.

Jim Ross: Five weeks ago today, this group opened WrestleMania in a stretch white hummer limo, accompanied by a slew of celebrity guests with the tag team championships in their possession … just an indication of how different this night is to the showcase of the immortals.

The Coach: Something else is gonna be very different too - tonight, justice will be served, and MNM will be leaving Montreal with the World Tag Team Championships back in their possession.

The trio reach the ring, with Melina (as always) doing her leg split on the apron, giving the rowdy fans a quick chance to cheer.

Jim Ross: There has been quite a lot of discussion over the last month over the circumstances that MNM lost those titles, not in a regular tag team contest, and in fact, in my opinion, this will be the first REAL contest between MNM and Straight Edge.

The Coach: How come?? Are you forgetting my boys beating Punk and Helms TIME AFTER TIME on Raw in February??

Jim Ross: I’m not forgetting it Coach, but there is a giant asterisk beside each of those so called ‘victories’. Tonight, MNM HAVE to win this match, no running, no games, they don’t have any advantage - they HAVE to go for the win.

**MISERIA CANTARE**

And the Bell Centre comes alive for the introduction of the ever popular duo of Greg Helms and CM Punk. The champions take a side of the stage each, pumping the audience, before meeting again in the centre, and proceed down the aisle, with MNM bouncing up and down, ready and waiting for the champions.

Jim Ross: The popularity of this young team is growing by the week. Now, with the world tag team titles around their waist, CM Punk and Greg Helms appear to be growing in confidence with each passing week. Tonight, they have the chance to put a line under their ongoing dispute with Mercury and Nitro. They can close this book once and for all with a win.

The Coach: Easier said than done. MNM held those titles for NINE months Jimbo. Not too shabby if you ask me. They know what it takes to get the job done, that’s a fact, and tonight, Straight Edge are facing the most determined MNM there has ever been.

Straight Edge enter the ring, and with the referee making sure there isn’t a jump start to the contest, we get things underway the right way.

World Tag Team Championships Match:
Straight Edge vs. MNM w/Melina

Punk and Nitro are the legal men to open the contest, with the two getting their bearings by circling the ring, keeping eyes locked on one another, before launching in, and locking up. It’s an early war of attrition, with both talents switching collar and elbow positions, tussling furiously, before Punk applies an arm wringer, which Nitro flips out of, with an irritatingly athletic handstand to escape the hold. Despite a big round of applause from a grinning Melina at ringside, that piece of arrogance, coupled with his plastic grin, gets Nitro the heat he deserves. Prick. The two lock up again, this time with Nitro immediately slipping down, and taking Punk over with a firemans carry, following up with a stiff kick to the shoulder blade, bringing a wince from one half of the champions.

Nitro drags Punk to his feet, but Punk elbows free, then runs off the ropes, but again, Nitro shows his athletic ability, leaping up, as Punk runs under, but stops, and as Nitro turns around, Punk runs through him with his shoulder, knocking him down. Punk stands over the challenger for a moment, then runs off the ropes, again, with Nitro suddenly leaping up, and delivers a perfect arm drag to the oncoming CM Punk. Punk is up immediately though, and Nitro looks to follow up, but Punk ducks down, low bridging the ropes, sending Nitro over the top rope. The tumble gets a pop from the fans, whilst Mercury and Melina quickly pick their third leg up, regrouping on the outside. In the ring, Punk motions to the fans, as does Helms, with the champions getting a rousing response from a hot audience.

As soon as Nitro wearily steps back inside, he tags Mercury in, but keeps his eyes locked on Punk, as he steps out. Mercury slowly moves around, before launching in for a collar and elbow, with Joey quickly driving a knee to Punks midsection, and sends him off the ropes, with Punk coming back, rolling off the back of his opponent, then surprises him with a jumping calf kick. Mercury hit’s the mat, with Punk diving in for a quick cover, 1...2...Kick Out. The Montreal fans greet the kick out with an over the top ‘TWOOOO’, as Punk quickly brings Mercury up with him, pushing him into the corner, and reaching for a tag to Greg Helms for a nice pop. The two take the moment to double team the challenger, and send him into a neutral corner, with Helms running in with a roaring clothesline splash, with Punk the following in as Helms exits, and Punk launches in with a high knee, then Irish whips Mercury out, into the path of Helms, who delivers with a hip toss. He makes the cover, but the count is delayed, with Nick Patrick admonishing Punk to the outside first. He eventually makes the count, 1...Kick out before two.

Helms pulls Mercury up, delivering a simple front slam, before reaching out, making a tag back to Punk. Punk hops in, and drops his forearm on the grounded opponent, then hooks the leg, 1...2...No. Punk gets up, stomping the head of Mercury a couple of times, before pulling him up, pushing him back into the corner, making another quick tag, as Helms climbs the turnbuckles, with his partner exposing the ribs of Mercury as he holds the arm, allowing Helms to crash off the top with a double axe handle to the ribs. Mercury doubles over, as Greg hit’s the ropes, blasting out with a running knee lift. As Mercury goes down, Helms makes ANOTHER quick tag, with the champions putting on a bit of a clinic in the opening stages. Punk gets inside, and joins Helms, as he holds Mercury against the ropes, with the champions each drilling Mercury with a knife edge chop, before sending him off the ropes, and both knock him down with a double flying clothesline, getting a nice pop from the fans inside the Bell Centre. Helms rolls out, as Punk makes a cover, 1...2...Kick Out.

Punk continues to keep the pressure on, pulling Mercury right back up, pushing him against the ropes, but before he can continue the onslaught, Mercury surprises him with a rake to the eyes. An early sign of desperation, but it works, as Mercury charges Punk into the corner, driving his shoulder into Punks gut, before reaching, and getting a tag from Nitro. Nitro slips inside, and with Joey holding Punk back, Johnny Nitro is able to unleash a barrage of shots to the defenceless champion. Mercury is ushered out of the ring by Patrick, and Nitro drags Punk out of the corner, wringing the arm, and trips Punk, before landing a leg across the arm of Punk. He keeps a hold of the arm, keeping it in position, and drives his knee to the point of the bicep, drawing a groan from Punk, as he rolls away, grabbing his arm. Nitro though, comes back for the arm, keeping his opponent close, and makes a tag to Mercury, holding the arm out, as his partner jumps off the middle rope with a double axe handle to the exposed arm.

Mercury piles the pressure on, keeping Punk on the ground, stomping the exposed arm, hopping onto the ropes, and dropping down with a knee again, forcing another groan from one half of the champions. Mercury, keeping Punk on the mat, makes a quick tag to Nitro, as the challengers now begin to get into gear, smoothly getting in and out quickly. Nitro drags Punk to his feet, and softens him up with a couple of right hands, before pulling him from the ropes, and delivers an arm breaker, sending further pain through the arm of the straight edge superstar. Nitro watches as Punk gets to his feet, and hops onto the ropes, looking for a springboard splash, BUT PUNK CATCHES HIM WITH A DROPKICK!!! The dropkick provokes a pop from the fans, and they pop again, as Punk leaps across the ring, making the most of the opportunity, and tags in Greg Helms!!

Helms hops over the ropes, and straight into action, running at Nitro, then sliding under him, confusing the challenger, with Punk delivering a drop toe hold, as Helms comes back across, dropping a leg to the back of the neck, rolling Nitro over, and hooking the leg, 1...2...Kick Out. Helms continues to keep up the pace, dragging Nitro up, and sends him into the corner with an Irish whip, and charges in after him … but Nitro gets a boot up!! Greg staggers away, seemingly offering Nitro with an opportunity to attack, and he runs at Helms, but Helms surprises him with a deep arm drag!!! Nitro stumbles back up, and into the wrong corner, with Helms keeping him there and making a tag back out to Punk, with the two sending Nitro off the ropes, and delivering a double hip toss on the return. Punk makes a cover, 1...2...Mercury makes sure of a kick out by pushing Punk off.

Nick Patrick is quick to reprimand Mercury for the run in, and as this happens, Punk looks to run off the ropes, but Melina takes the chance and trips the leg of the champion, whilst the referee is distracted. Punk takes exception to the trip, and reaches down, dragging Melina up to the apron by the hair, with the misogynistic fans wildly cheering, but before Punk can do any damage, Nitro attacks him from behind. Nitro saves Melina, and begins to hammer away at the neck and back of Punk, when Punk suddenly surprises him … AND GETS HIM UP FOR THE PUNK CARD … BUT MELINA TRIPS PUNK AGAIN!!! Nitro lands on Punk, but Patrick doesn’t count, instead giving Melina a ticking off for her interference. Melina continues to argue with Patrick though, keeping him busy, as Mercury darts in, and together with Nitro, MNM deliver a quick double back breaker. Helms then races in, looking to attack Mercury, but he escapes out of the ring, and Melina points Patrick to the run in, with the referee quickly turning his attention to Greg, and ticks him off, telling him to get out of the ring, giving Melina an opportunity to choke Punk on the ropes, which she does, as her charge regains his breath, whilst Punk has his taken from him.

As the referee finishes off his dressing down of Helms, Nitro takes over on Punk again, putting the boots to him, then after another annoying smirk, shows off his athletic ability, delivering a scintillating standing shooting star press, and hooks the leg immediately, 1...2...Kick Out!!! Nitro doesn’t smile so much this time, shaking his head at the kick out, and gets to his feet, putting one finger up to the fans, as if to suggest, there’s one more to come … and delivers another athletically impressive move, with a swinging leg drop from a standing position, and he again covers the straight edge superstar, 1...2...Kick out again!!! Nitro pounds the mat in anger, before getting up, looking to Mercury, and tags his partner back in. MNM make the most of the opportunity and send Punk off the ropes, delivering a simple double reverse elbow on the return, with Nitro now getting out of the ring, and Mercury dragging Punk right back up, quickly hitting a nice side suplex, and floating over to a cover, 1...2...Kick Out from Punk. Mercury already has his next move on his mind, and climbs the ropes, getting to the top rope, but looks a little unsteady, which serves as an invite for Punk, with the champion pulling himself to his feet quickly, and making a beeline for Mercury, PRESS SLAMMING HIM FROM THE TOP!!! The fans show their appreciation, as Punk tries to steady himself, whilst Mercury is up, but falls into the corner. Punk then takes the moment, and races across the ring, looking for a running high knee in the corner … but MELINA TRIPS HER OWN MAN, AND DRAGS HIM OUT OF THE RING!!! And it’s too late for Punk, who runs into the corner, crashing his knee into the buckle. Both Helms and Nick Patrick are distracted by the actions of Melina, which gives Nitro a golden opportunity to make a difference, and grabs a hold of Punk, in an STO position, and drives his knee to the back of Punk, keeping him held, then delivers a Russian Leg Sweep!!

To a chorus of boos, Nitro slithers back out, as Mercury slides back in, going for a cover to bring the titles back to MNM…

……HELMS BREAKS THE COUNT……
!!!

Helms saves Punk, but pays the price, with Nick Patrick quickly at him, getting him out of the ring, giving MNM another opportunity to illegally double team, and the duo hammer away at Punk, with Nitro getting back out, just before he is caught by Patrick. Mercury though doesn’t take long to tag Nitro back in, with the challengers making the most of the referees five seconds, again putting the boots to Punk, before Mercury is forced out of the ring. Nitro then drags his defenceless opponent to his feet, kicking him in the gut, THEN SENDS HIM OUT OF THE RING, WITH A CHEST ON CANVAS SLIDE, CREATING A PSEUDO FRICTION BURN ALONG THE MAT!! There are gasps from the fans, and ‘OOHS’ as Punk writhes on the mat on the outside, but Patrick stops Nitro from going outside, holding him in the ring. As Nitro argues though, Melina uses the distraction to attack Punk, taking off her boot, and ramming it into his face, with Punk unable to defend himself from it at this moment, but begins to move, trying to get to his feet, attempting to shield himself from the attack of Melina.

Meanwhile, Helms stops Mercury from continuing the beat down, with Joey looking to get Punk back inside, setting him on the apron. Helms knocks Mercury down, throwing a succession of rights, hammering the opponent, but as he does, Nitro delivers ANOTHER highly athletic move, hitting a slingshot dropkick to Punk on the apron, and drags him in, quickly making a cover, with Helms too busy beating down Mercury to notice…

…………1…………

…2…
………………………………………
………SHOULDER UP………
!!!

Punk survives, much to the delight of the Canadian fans, - and his partner, with Greg Helms only spotting the cover at the last moment - but it’s Nitro that’s still the aggressor, as he is quick to keep on Punk, pulling the straight edge superstar to his feet, taking a moment, then lifts him in the air for a suplex, but once in the air, Punk begins to try and wriggle free … and manages to avoid the suplex, landing behind Nitro … AND DELIVERS THE PEPSI TWIST!!! Both men are down, with the fans firmly behind Punk, as Helms stamps his feet on the apron to get him going, whilst Mercury now stretches his hand out for a tag from Nitro, desperately seeking the tag before Punk can get out. Punk crawls, looking exhausted, trying to inch his way to the corner, whilst the dazed Johnny Nitro tries to do the same. Both men are inching closer, with both Mercury and Helms reaching as far as they can to get the tag … AND NITRO DOES … WITH MERCURY RACING IN … AND DRAGS PUNK AWAY … JUST BEFORE HE COULD GET A TAG!!!!!

The Bell Centre is suddenly deflated, with Helms slapping the ropes in anger, with a big opportunity to get back in the match passing the champions by, as Mercury drops an elbow to the spine, keeping Punk under control. He then hauls CM Punk back to his feet, scooping him, and quickly delivering a backbreaker, and hooks the leg, 1...2...KICK OUT!!! Mercury shakes his head in anger, as Punk digs deep to show his fighting spirit, refusing to give this one in, with Joey getting up, stomping the head of the courageous champion, keeping him down. Joey then makes a beeline for the ropes, climbing the buckles, happy that this time he wont be caught out by Punk. Mercury climbs to the top, and perches himself, readying himself for Punk to get up, and as Punk finally reaches his feet … MERCURY DIVES OFF FOR A CROSS BODY … BUT PUNK CATCHES HIM … AND THROWS HIM ONTO HIS SHOULDERS … AND DELIVERS THE PUNK CARD!!!!! It’s chaos in Montreal, as both Punk and Mercury go down, after Punk delivers his trademark move!!! Both men are down, and Nick Patrick is left with no other option but to make a count, with neither man getting to their feet.

…1……2……3……4…

…Punk is first to begin to move, with Mercury obviously still down after the Punk Card…

…5……6……7…

…And now, Punk inches towards the corner, with Helms, along with 20,000 fans willing him on…

……8……

…Melina and Nitro now try to will Mercury on, with their partner slowly showing signs of life, beginning to come to…

…BUT PUNK MAKES THE HOT TAG TO HELMS…
!!!!!!!!!!

Helms bursts into life, racing across the ring immediately, knocking Nitro off the apron, then runs through Mercury, just as he got to his feet. He hauls him up, and sends him off the ropes, delivering a big back body drop on the return. Joey falls into the corner, with Helms on him immediately, blasting him with right hands, before sending him off the ropes again, but this time, as he hit’s the ropes, Nitro makes a blind tag. Helms drops Mercury on the return with a dropkick, and as Helms gets up, Nitro comes at him, but Helms ducks under a clothesline attempt, and then catches Nitro on the return with a power slam!! The fans pop again, as Helms jumps up, firing up the fans, before wasting no time, climbing the ropes, and lies in wait, whilst Melina desperately tries to warm Nitro of what’s to come … but he turns around … AND HELMS CONNECTS OFF THE TOP WITH A BLOCKBUSTER!!! It could be over, as Helms crawls into a cover, hooking the leg…

……1……

……………2……………
………
…MELINA PUTS NITROS BOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE…
!!!!!

Helms cant believe it, and immediately turns his attention to Melina, accusing her of putting the boot on the rope, but the diva denies all knowledge, playing dumb, providing enough of a distraction for Mercury to run in from behind … BUT HELMS MOVES!!! Mercury catches himself on the top rope in a compromising position, and Helms shakes the rope, adding further pain to the crown jewels, with Mercury falling off the ropes, and onto the apron. Helms, still firing on all cylinders, looks to finish it once and for all now, dragging Nitro up, and getting him in position for the Nightmare on Helms Street … BUT MERCURY TAKES HIM OUT AT THE LAST SECOND WITH A CLOTHESLINE FROM BEHIND!!! Mercury saves his partners bacon, but suddenly, we see Punk hop onto the ropes, looking to leap off onto Mercury … BUT MELINA SHOVES HIM OFF … AND PUNK LANDS HARD ON THE MATS OUTSIDE!!! Meanwhile, Nitro recovers, and spots the opening with Helms in a seated position on the canvas … AND RUNS THROUGH HIM WITH A MASSIVE KNEE TO THE HEAD!!! He makes the cover, looking to win back the titles…

……………1……………
………
………2………

……HELMS JUST KICKS OUT……
!!!!!

Straight Edge barely survive, but might not last too much longer, as Mercury is back to his feet, and helps Nitro drag Helms up, with MNM now looking to put the finishing touches to the champions, getting Helms up for THE SNAPSHOT … BUT PUNK COMES FROM NOWHERE AND TACKLES MERCURY DOWN!!! … AND HELMS DELIVERS A DDT TO COUNTER NITRO!!! The fans go nuts for the sudden turnaround, whilst Melina screams like a banshee, watching her men throw away a big chance to win back the titles. Punk stomps Mercury out of the ring, whilst Helms gets an arm over on Nitro, with the end in sight…

…………1…………

……2……
………………………………………
…NITRO GETS A SHOULDER UP…
!!!!!

The match continues, as Punk now helps his partner up, with the champions having the same idea, turning their attention on Nitro, and DELIVER THE DOUBLE SHINING WIZARD TO THE DEFENCELESS NITRO!!! Helms makes the cover, with the match surely over, and the titles in the bag…

…1…
………………………
……2……

……MELINA IS ON THE APRON……
!!!

Nick Patrick stops the count, with Melina causing a big distraction, saving the challengers from a sure defeat. Patrick gets up, and demands Melina get off the apron, whilst Helms gets up too, yelling at the former womens champion, whilst Mercury surprises Punk, tripping him from the outside, and dragging him out of the ring, whilst throwing one of the title belts to Nitro!!!!! Patrick continues to demand for Melina to get down, as Nitro conceals the title belt, with Helms unaware, coming back to drag him up … but as he does … NITRO NAILS HIM WITH THE TITLE BELT!!! Helms tumbles like a house of cards, with Nitro throwing the belt out of the ring, and crawling on top of Helms, with Melina now all too happy to get off the apron … allowing the count to take place

…………1…………
………
………2………

………HELMS KICKS OUT………
!!!!!

HE KICKED OUT!!!!! Somehow, Greg Helms managed to kick out of the belt shot, with Nitro running his fingers through his hair in pure shock. He looks down at Helms, then up at Patrick, holding up three fingers, with Patrick shaking his head. Nitro looks amazed, and pulls himself to his feet, making his way to the ropes, watching Helms behind him, and leaps onto the ropes … LOOKING FOR A SPRINGBOARD ROUNDHOUSE KICK … BUT HELMS DUCKS DOWN!!! Nitro comes at Helms again, but is caught with a boot to the gut … AND HELMS FOLLOWS UP WITH THE NIGHTMARE ON HELMS STREET!!! He makes the cover, as Punk sends Mercury into Melina, taking both of them out of commission, leaving a free count for Helms…

WINNERS: AND STILL WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS - STRAIGHT EDGE @ 16:44

MNM are officially vanquished by Straight Edge!!! Punk and Helms have finally proven they are the better team, beating MNM in a straight up match, with no run ins, and no excuses. The champions hug proudly in the ring, before being presented again with their titles, as they play to the fans, climbing the buckles, and showing the gold off proudly.

Meanwhile, a groggy Mercury and Melina pull Nitro from the ring, but the attention is on the ring, where Straight Edge are standing tall, as the argument can end - Punk and Helms are the dominant tag team on Monday Night Raw.

Jim Ross: MNM can have no complaints here Coach … nor can you!!! Greg Helms and CM Punk have proven it tonight, without gimmicks, without interference, without any excuses on either side, Straight Edge have beaten MNM.

The Coach: Yeah, that was one time. In a hundred straight matches, MNM could probably win ninety nine of them … this was the one time Straight Edge caught them on an off night. Credit to the champions, but for me, MNM are still the best around!!!

Jim Ross: Well, it could be a long time before your good friends on the a-list get another shot at the titles. There is a growing list of fine tandems on Raw, just waiting for a crack at Straight Edge, and with Punk and Helms the type of fighting champions we love to see, those teams could well be in line for a title shot very soon. What a way to kick off such an important night in this companies history.

"He that rejecteth me and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him. The word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day" John 12:48.

Flashing shot of Randy Orton punting Jericho on 13/4 Smackdown.

Writing appears again;
"For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to what he hath done whether it be good or bad" II Corinthians 5:10.

Flashing shots of Ric Flair leaving the ring, head bowed, for the final time, RVD being wheeled out of the arena at WrestleMania, and Chris Jericho being placed into an ambulance on the 13/4 edition of Smackdown.

The package then focuses on the face of the callous Randy Orton, the music stops, and it’s simply heavy, slow motion breathing.

Narrator: His Judgment Day … has come.

Backstage, in the McMahon Family Empires private quarters, we see Triple H, alone with Stephanie, having his hands strapped up by a trainer, as Shane McMahon enters the room.

Shane McMahon: Yo Hunter, we’re a-okay. Got your little secret weapon stashed away nicely for later.

Shane gives The Game a thumbs up, with Trips nodding.

Shane McMahon: Uh … where is everyone??

Shane looks around, with no one else in the room.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: Hunter just needs some alone time right now, y’know?? He needs to get himself in the right frame of mind for later. Dad’s with Kurt somewhere, getting ready for later too.

Shane nods, before moving toward Triple H.

Shane McMahon: Do us all a favour, Hunter … shut Christian up once and for all.

Shane pats The Games shoulder, with The Game looking right ahead, breathing heavy, looking highly intense. Shane then walks away, and hugs his sister. They then pull away, with Shane smiling.

Shane McMahon: This is going to be a great night for the McMahons … I feel it, sis.

Stephanie nods, but takes a glance around at Triple H, before turning back to Shane, and lightly talks, not wanting The Game to hear.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: But at what cost, Shane?? I’ve seen what Hell in a Cell has done to Hunter before … and I know what he’s willing to put himself through tonight. If he wins … and Kurt wins for Dad … what’s next??

Stephanie, looking concerned for her husband, stares at Shane, hoping for an answer, but Shane doesn’t have much to offer.

Shane McMahon: That’s a bridge we’ll cross when we come to it. First though, we need to get through tonight. Hunter is taking back the title, and Dad is getting the entire company back in his hands. Tonight, those are the only two things that matter, okay??

Stephanie nods, but doesn’t look so confident, as we fade out.

Backstage now, Todd Grisham is standing by.

Todd Grisham: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, William Regal.

The camera pans to Regal, with the Brit looking stern as ever.

Todd Grisham: William, it’s been well documented that you’ve never held a World title in your illustrious career, but tonight, you can go a long way to rectifying that statistic, by becoming Raws exclusive Mister Money in the Bank. But, with five other guys standing in your way, how do you plan to overcome those odds??

Regal thinks about it for a second, staring at Grisham for a moment before calmly replying.

William Regal: There isn’t a grand scheme Todd, I’m afraid. But I have been deep in thought about this match for some time. And my train of thought has been on one thing, and one thing only … winning that briefcase. And I want to make it perfectly clear that I intend on doing whatever it takes to become the next Mister Money in the Bank. You see Todd, to get ahead, I have absolutely no qualms in bending the rules. In fact, I take great pleasure in throwing the rule book out the bloody window.

Regal smirks momentarily.

William Regal: So tonight, don’t be surprised if you see me scratching and clawing my way to victory. If there’s a shortcut, I’ll take it sunshine, because nothing means more to me, than capping off my career with that elusive World Heavyweight Championship. Shawn Michaels, Master Kennedy, You-Manga, Tomko and Matthew Hardy … gentlemen, you’ve been warned.

Small pop from the fans, as Regal glares into the camera, as we fade out…

Back into the arena…

**SOMEBODIES GONNA GET IT**

Theodore Long struts confidently onto the stage, leading out ‘The Black Diamond’ Shelton Benjamin for this Intercontinental Championship match up.

Jim Ross: Tonight, the pressure is on Shelton Benjamin to kick start this new era of the Brotherhood, by delivering his third Intercontinental title. But can the man that Theodore Long has proclaimed ‘The Black Diamond’ capture the title from the man that took the title from him at the Royal Rumble, Rey Mysterio??

The Coach: Without a doubt, he can. The Royal Rumble is all but a distant memory old timer, and the score will be settled tonight. You are looking at the next Intercontinental Champion.

Benjamin hops into the ring, jogging off the ropes, keeping on his toes, as he awaits Mysterio.

**BOOYAKA 619**

Popping up from under the stage, Rey Mysterio elicit’s a massive response from the on looking fans, as he prepares to defend the I.C title once more.

Jim Ross: A true, fighting champion Coach, Rey Mysterio has taken on all comers during his second reign as the Intercontinental Champion, but after suffering a number of high profile defeats in non title matches this past month - including a loss against Shelton Benjamin three weeks ago on Raw - Mysterio can not afford to slip up tonight, or he will be leaving Montreal, without his most cherished possession.

The Coach: His mask??

Jim Ross: The Intercontinental title, Coach.

The Coach: That’s not his most cherished possession J.R. Have you seen how many times he touches that mask?? Besides, if he’s smart, he’ll have already come to the realisation that he’s leaving here tonight, minus that title belt.

Jim Ross: I doubt that very much. Mysterio will never say die.

Mysterio reaches the ring, kissing the title, before handing it over to Mike Chioda, as Theodore Long bellows from ringside ‘DATS RIGHT, KISS IT GOODBYE!!!’

Intercontinental Championship Match:
Rey Mysterio vs. Shelton Benjamin w/ Theodore Long

Mysterio paces around the ring, with Benjamin also trying to shape up, but Rey pays too much attention to the heckling from Theodore Long at ringside, and turns attention for a second too long, allowing Benjamin to pounce, and he hammers the back and neck of the champion, beating him into the corner, looking to get ahead early on. Rey tries to fight him off, but Shelton uses his overwhelming size advantage to overpower the smaller man, keeping him closed in in the corner. Rey though, tries to kick himself out of trouble, with stiff leg kicks to Shelton, which slow the challenger down momentarily, as Rey takes the first chance he can to escape the corner, and runs off the ropes, but as he comes back, Benjamin avoids him, with Rey then hopping onto the ropes … BUT BENJAMIN HOISTS HIM OVER THE TOP … ONLY FOR REY TO LAND ON THE APRON!!! Shelton now lunges at the champion, but Rey blocks a shot, and fires back with one of his own, then hops onto the ropes, flying off at Shelton … BUT SHELTON SCORES WITH A DROPKICK!!! The fans show appreciation for the counter, as Shelton covers, 1...2...KICK OUT!!!

Benjamin quickly hauls Rey up, sending him off the ropes, knocking the champion down with a shoulder block. Momentarily, Shelton looks down at Rey, before bending down, and pulling him back up, quickly going behind, and attempting a side suplex, but Mysterio flips over, and scores with a stiff as hell leg kick, that contorts Benjamin for a second, with his knee giving way. Rey then kicks again, forcing Benjamins leg to give in again, but the challenger is swift to try and put a stop to the severe kicks, driving a knee to the mid section of the champion, and sends Rey off the ropes, but as the masked Mysterio bounces back, he surprises Benjamin WITH A HEADSCISSORS … SENDING THE CHALLENGER TUMBLING OUT OF THE RING!!!

The fans come alive for the dazzling piece of athleticism, and rise to their feet, as the champion takes a look around, with Theodore Long looking concerned, and Rey speeds across the ring … AND SENTONS OVER THE TOP ROPE … LANDING ON BENJAMIN!!! The Bell Centre pops big time for the high risk offence of Rey, as both men sell the effects on the outside, with Mike Chioda beginning a standard ten count … 1 … 2 … 3 … Both men stir, with Rey moving quicker at this point … 4 … 5 … Mysterio is on his feet, but rests against the apron, catching his breath back, as Shelton begins to try and get to his vertical base … 6 … 7 … Rey rolls himself into the ring, with Benjamin stumbling closely behind … 8 … Shelton gets inside, beating the count. Benjamin gets in, but that second behind Rey allows the champion to pick up steam, and Mysterio charges toward him, ducking under the challenger, and hops onto the ropes, looking for a splash onto Benjamin … BUT SHELTON CATCHES HIM … POWERSLAM CONNECTS!!!!! Benjamin hooks the leg tightly, 1...2...NO!!!

Shelton looks out to Theodore, who hollers at his boy, giving him plenty of support, clapping the challenger, with Shelton nodding, and dragging the champion up, keeping him under control with a kick to the gut, then hooks him into position, throwing him up in the air for a suplex … and holds Rey high in the air, allowing the blood to flow to his brain, all the while showing off his power advantage over the smaller man, keeping him in position in the air … then begins the descent, seemingly for a vertical suplex, but drops Rey behind him … AND DELIVERS A REVERSE NECKBREAKER!!! ‘Vintage’ Benjamin you might say, as the challenger hooks the leg tightly … 1...2...KICK OUT FROM MYSTERIO!!!

Benjamin shakes his head in disappointment from the kick out, and again, looks out to Long, with his manager again clapping him, giving him praise, and telling him to keep wearing Mysterio down. Benjamin listens and nods, then drags his opponent back up, and goes to the well again, lifting the champion into the air, and holding him in position again, allowing the blood to flow through to his brain … but as he looks to deliver the same vertical suplex into neck breaker move … Rey escapes as he hit’s the ground, and surprises Shelton, with a roll up from behind, looking to catch him unaware … 1...2...KICK OUT!!! Shelton bounces up, and swings for a clothesline, but Rey ducks under, and runs off the ropes, sliding under a befuddled Benjamin, and hops to the opposite ropes, launching back, over Shelton, and then catches the challenger with a perfect arm drag as soon as Shelton turns around!!! Suddenly out of sorts, The Black Diamond stumbles to his feet, and into the path of the dangerous, stiff leg kicks of the champion, who dazzles with an array of kicks to the knee and thigh, softening up the challenger, then runs off the ropes, but as he comes back … BENJAMIN DELIVERS A THROWAWAY BELLY TO BELLY!!! Rey is launched into the air like a rag doll, and crashes onto the mat like a crash test dummy!!!

The Black Diamond leans against the ropes, taking a moment to catch his breath after chasing after the pin-ball like champion, then shakes his leg loose, having taken some stiff punishment. Theodore Long bellows from ringside, telling his golden boy to keep on Rey, with Shelton nodding, and going to Rey, dragging him to his feet, but Mysterio fights up, blasting with shots to the gut, winding Shelton, but Benjamin puts a stop to the momentum, smacking his forearm off the back of Rey to slow him down, then goes for a simple kick … but Rey catches the boot … spins Benjamin around … BUT SHELTON SCORES WITH THE DRAGON WHIP!!! Benjamin quickly drags Rey to the centre, hooking the leg tightly, 1...2...NO!!!

Now showing some frustration, Benjamin punches the mat, shaking his head, but once more, Theodore offers some helping words, keeping the challenger focused. Benjamin pulls Mysterio up again, and sends him into the corner, following in … BUT REY GETS A FOOT UP!!! Shelton staggers out, and Rey looks to capitalise, storming out of the corner, with a front dropkick to the back of the challenger … SENDING BENJAMIN INTO THE ROPES!!! The fans come alive, realising what may come next, with Mysterio setting up for the 619 … BUT SHELTON HAS IT SCOUTED … AND SLIPS OUT OF THE RING, UNDER THE BOTTOM ROPE … AND HURLS MYSTERIO TO THE HARD FLOOR AS HE SWINGS AROUND THE ROPES!!!

There is a massive groan around the Bell Centre, coming after the sick thump brought from the counter Benjamin applied from the 619. Shelton takes a few deep breaths, showing a sickly smile, whilst the champion writhes around the mat, groaning, holding his back tightly. Benjamin doesn’t give the champ long to try and recover, pulling him back up, and rolling him back inside the ring, looking to go for the kill now. Back inside, Shelton stomps the head of his opponent, keeping him down, whilst adding more insult to injury. The challenger drags Rey up, and hunches down, looking to build up more power, and sends Mysterio with velocity and power, into the corner, taking a few steps back, licking his lips … BEFORE RACING ACROSS THE RING, LOOKING FOR THE STINGER SPLASH … BUT MYSTERIO AVOIDS IT … SHELTON HIT’S THE CORNER!!! The smile fades from the cocky challengers face, as Mysterio sets himself, waiting for Shelton to come back out, and as he does, Rey runs toward him … BUT BENJAMIN CATCHES HIM WITH A FLAPJACK … WITH REY LANDING ON THE ROPES!!! Mysterio stumbles out, clutching his throat, and Benjamin looks to finish with the T-BONE EXPLODER … BUT REY LANDS ON HIS FEET … SHELTON TURNS AROUND … AND REY SCORES WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK!!! Mysterio drops down for the cover, hooking the leg…

Benjamin survives!!! Mysterio looks up, hands on his head, mouth open wide, with the match continuing. The fans show their appreciation for the high octane pace of the contest, whilst Rey finds his feet once more, making his way to the ropes, stepping out onto the apron, waiting for Benjamin to get to his feet, and as he does, Mysterio leaps onto the ropes, flying off with a SEATED SENTON … BUT BENJAMIN CATCHES HIM … AND POWERBOMBS THE CHAMPION INTO THE CORNER!!! A massive groan develops again around the arena, with Rey grimacing in pain, before Benjamin proceeds to race across the ring … STINGER SPLASH CONNECTS!!!!! Rey looks like he’s on no mans land at this point, with Benjamin picking his spot … AND THE FROST KICK CONNECTS!!! Benjamin hooks the leg, hoping for the finish here…

………SHOULDER COMES UP………
!!!

Just in the nick of time, Mysterio survives, with Shelton looking dumbfounded, as to what it’ll take to finish off the Human Highlight Reel. Even Long now looks concerned at the inability of Benjamin to put Mysterio away, but as the challenger looks to his mentor, Theodore nods, clapping his boy, keeping the mood high. Shelton stomps Reys back, then pulls him up to his feet, connecting with a few weak right hands, before sending him off the ropes, but somehow, Rey is able to get himself together, and duck under a clothesline from Shelton, running off the opposite side … jumping onto the middle rope … only for Benjamin to launch in, grip him from behind, and attempts to deliver a German from the middle rope … BUT REY STRUGGLES … AND LOOKS TO BREAK FREE … AND SCORES WITH A BULLDOG!!! Benjamin is flat on the canvas, and Rey takes the chance, stepping out of the ring, and leaps onto the ropes … AND SCORES WITH THE LEG DROP OFF THE ROPES!!! He turns the challenger over, looking to finish…

……………KICK OUT……………
!!!!!!!!

Again, Mysterio looks astonished by the kick out, and looks up at Chioda, pleading for the three, but Chioda shakes his head, showing the two fingers again. Mysterio takes a deep breath, and gets to his feet, taking a moment to think, then moves to the corner, hoisting himself onto the top turnbuckle, waiting for Benjamin to get to his feet, but now, THEODORE LONG makes his presence felt, jumping onto the apron, and distracting Rey, with Chioda trying to intervene, ordering Long off the apron, but as this commotion goes on … Shelton takes full advantage … and LEAPS to the top turnbuckle … surprising Rey … AND IN ONE SWIFT MOVEMENT … DELIVERS A SUPERPLEX OFF THE TOP!!! The fans show appreciation for the athleticism of the challenger, but as Shelton hooks the leg, time is wasted, as Chioda is still busy admonishing Long, who is now desperately trying to alert the referee to the cover … and eventually Chioda becomes aware … and makes the count …

…KICK OUT…
!!!!!

Mysterio survives … and it’s thanks to Theodore Long!!! On the outside, Long is beside himself, whilst Shelton pounds his head off the mat, showing his own pent up frustration. Once more, Benjamin looks to his manager for guidance, with Theodore motioning to him to end the match now. Shelton follows the advice, and drags Mysterio up, and holds him in position for the T-Bone Exploder, waiting for a moment … THEN SCOOPS HIM UP … BUT REY COUNTERS WITH A CRADLE …

……BENJAMIN KICKS OUT……
!!!!!

The two men get to their feet, with Shelton coming at the champion, but Rey scores with another stiff kick, slowing the challenger, then takes off, running off the ropes, hopping onto them … BUT BENJAMIN SHOVES HIM, SENDING REY TUMBLING OVER THE TOP AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!!! Again, the fans groan, as Rey folds up on the outside, his body surely a wreck. Shelton then picks himself up, looking to the outside at Rey, then picks up some speed himself, and runs across the ring … AND LOOKS FOR A RUNNING SENTON OVER THE TOP … BUT REY AVOIDS IT!!!!! Benjamin CRASHES AND BURNS ON THE OUTSIDE!!! Both men are down again, but the champion is able to get himself up, using the barricade to get to his feet. Rey takes a moment to compose himself, but spots Theodore Long trying to help his boy to his feet, with Rey pushing him away.

Mysterio then points to Theodore, who innocently holds his hands up, but buys Shelton more recovery time. Meanwhile, Chioda now steps outside, stopping his count, and lectures Long, with Rey still distracted, allowing Benjamin to recover, and attacks from behind!!! Shelton sends Rey into the barrier, and hammers him with a number of right hands, softening him up, before rolling the champion back inside, slowly following himself, selling the effects of his missed Senton, and makes a cover, 1...2...NO!!! Shelton, still slowly moving, gets to his feet, and backs Rey into the ropes, letting go again with a few rights, and sends him off the ropes once more, looking to deliver a back body drop … BUT REY ROLLS OVER THE BACK … and runs off the ropes … BUT SHELTON CATCHES HIM ON THE RETURN … LOOKING FOR A SIDEWALK SLAM … BUT REY COUNTERS WITH ANOTHER HEADSCISSORS!!! Shelton stumbles to his feet, looking dizzy, falling into the corner, but Mysterio comes after him … but is stopped by a kick to the gut from Shelton!!! Rey is stopped, and Benjamin blasts out of the corner with a hard clothesline!!! The challenger hooks the leg, 1...2...NO!!!

The Black Diamond is in the ascendancy now, and waits patiently for Rey to get to his feet. Rey gets up, looking like easy pickings, with Shelton running toward him … but Rey thinks quick, and delivers a drop toe hold … INTO THE ROPES!!! Without a wasted motion, Mysterio charges across the ring, LOOKING FOR THE 619 … BUT SHELTON DODGES IT AGAIN!!! Mysterio lands up on the apron, and hops onto the ropes, jumping off, landing past Benjamin, with Shelton spinning around to find him, but Rey leaps up, AND DELIVERS A HURRICANRANA … SENDING SHELTON BACK INTO THE ROPES!!! For the third time, Rey calls for the 619 … AND THIS TIME CONNECTS!!! The Bell Centre comes alive, with Rey jumping onto the ropes, looking for the West Coast Pop to finish … BUT THEODORE LONG SACRIFICES HIMSELF … PUSHING SHELTON OUT OF HARMS WAY … AND TAKES THE WEST COAST POP HIMSELF!!! The fans pop, as Long rolls wildly out of the ring, but Rey looks astonished … then turns around … AND SHELTON GOES FOR THE T-BONE EXPLODER … BUT MYSTERIO COUNTERS WITH A TORNADO DDT!!! Rey rolls the challenger over, and makes the cover …

The fans are in shock, as is Rey, who shakes his head in disbelief, but looks down at the challenger, and decides he has to pull something else out of the locker to finish off the Black Diamond. Rey pulls himself to his feet, and wastes no time to step onto the apron, and jumps onto the ropes … FLYING OFF AT THE STANDING SHELTON … BUT BENJAMIN COUNTERS IN MID AIR WITH A JUMPING REVERSE STO {Paydirt. WINNER: AND NEW WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION - SHELTON BENJAMIN @ 13:04

Shelton recaptures the Intercontinental title!!! For the third time in twelve months, The Black Diamond has scooped the championship, and instantly rolls outside to hug his (groggy) mentor, Theodore Long. The two celebrate the win, whilst in the ring, Rey slowly comes around, as the realisation of defeat sinks in.

Jim Ross: A valiant effort from Rey Mysterio, and if it hadn’t have been for the interference of Theodore Long, taking the bullet for Shelton Benjamin, I’m convinced Rey would be leaving here right now, with his championship in tact!!

The Coach: Oh, get a grip, old timer. You can only hold the real talent down for so long. Shelton Benjamin is shining brightly tonight, like only a diamond can!!!

Jim Ross: No mention of Theodore Long saving Shelton from a certain defeat??

The Coach: I call that heroic baby boy. Theodore Long treats his boys like brothers, and we saw that tonight!! Any anyway, who’s to say that Shelton wouldn’t have kicked out anyway?? Tonight was The Black Diamonds time to get back his title, and nothing was gonna stop him.

Jim Ross: Credit to Benjamin, he did a great job to shock Mysterio at the end, with some terrific innovation. But Coach, you cant tell me that Theodore Long running in the ring to save his boy, didn’t put a question mark over this outcome.

Benjamin and Long then stand halfway up the ramp, showing off the newly won championship, broadly smiling, with Mysterio on his hands and knees, looking at his conqueror.

Jim Ross: Commiserations to Mysterio here at Backlash. And credit to both men, they put on a hellacious, neck breaking pace to this contest, and let it all hang out. But I just hope, Mysterio is rewarded with a rematch.

The Coach: Justice was done tonight, J.R. Shelton should never have lost the title in the first place back in January. Forget rematches, and let’s look to the future.

Jim Ross: Gimme a break.

Backstage now, Todd Grisham is standing by.

Todd Grisham: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, one of the six men competing in the one fall to a finish Money in the Bank match momentarily, Mister Kennedy.

Kennedy steps into view, shaking his head at Grisham, then grabbing the mic from him.

Mister Kennedy: That’s not how you introduce the next Mister Money in the Bank. Do yourself a favour Grisham, grab a pen, take a few notes, because THIS … is how you do an introduction…

Kennedy pushes Grisham away, then turns to the camera.

Mister Kennedy: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN …

Kennedy stops, and ponders for a second.

Mister Kennedy: Hold on, hold on. We’re in Montreal, right??

Pop from the fans. Kennedy nods.

Mister Kennedy: In that case … BONJOUR!!!

Cheap pop from the fans. Kennedy smiles, and continues to do so, as he speaks again.

Mister Kennedy: I guess you wine drinking, French speaking, ass backward Canuckers need subtitles, right?? Well, we don’t have any subtitles for ya. So … LOSERS AND HOES…

Heat.

Mister Kennedy: I present to you, a man that needs no introduction … yet you get one anyway. Weighing in at two hundred, forty two and one quarter pounds … THE CURRENT King of the Ring … and in just a few moments … THE NEXT MISTERRRRRRRR … Money in the Bank … and soon to be … THE NEXT WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP … open your eyes, clean out your ears, and listen good … MISTERRRRRRRRRRR … KENNEDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

Kennedy stops, and listens to the heat from Montreal.

Mister Kennedy: KEN-NED-DAY!!!

More heat. Kennedy then motions for Grisham to come back, with Todd shuffling into view.

Mister Kennedy: So … you wanted to ask me a couple questions??

Grisham nods.

Mister Kennedy: Tough break, because I got better things to be doing right now, than stand here and talk to you … au revoir.

Kennedy shoves the mic into Grishams chest, as we fade away.

Back into the arena…

**LIVE FOR THE MOMENT**

The fans come to their feet, as the excited Matt Hardy charges onto the stage, pumping the crowd, and looking highly motivated for his big opportunity.

Jim Ross: Two times United States Champion, he’s had a cup of coffee with the Intercontinental title three years ago, and no one needs reminded about his past achievements with his brother Jeff … but tonight, Matt Hardy will attempt to climb the final rung on the ladder, and break the glass ceiling, with a briefcase for company. Matt Hardy feels right now, he couldn’t be better placed to make the step up. He’s paid his dues, he’s a student of the game, and now, Matt Hardy is setting his sights on following the path of ultimate glory!!

The Coach: Talented, no doubt. In my opinion, the talented half of the Hardy Boys, but J.R, Matt Hardy has a long road to travel before he can be considered in that top tier. Tonight, it’s just a little too soon if you ask me.

**PROBLEM SOLVER**

To a limited response of boos, Tyson Tomko slowly enters, looking focused, having had a massive opportunity thrust his way.

Jim Ross: Tonight, Tyson Tomko has the opportunity to step out of the shadows, after years of following behind Christian, and now the McMahon Family Empire. Tonight is Tomkos chance to stand alone, and for the first time, gain acknowledgement of his own potential.

The Coach: You are looking at the dark horse here Jimbo. The last man to gain a spot in this match, Tyson Tomko has learnt from the very best over the last three months, he holds a victory over the soon to be former World Champion, and he’s got size, power and ability to boot.

**BORN NAUGHTY**

To limited fanfare, William Regal, the veteran Englishman makes his way to the ring, keeping his eyes locked on the squared circle.

Jim Ross: For the likes of Hardy and Tomko, tonight represents the chance to make a step up, but for Regal, this is his quite possibly the final chance the veteran has to become a world champion. He sees this as a last shot at the big time, and Coach, never discount a desperate man.

The Coach: Don’t discount Regal. Over the last month alone, he’s pushed both the WWE Champion and the World Champion to the limit, not to mention the next World Champion, Triple H. Regal can play with the best of them, and tonight, it wouldn’t shock me if the Queens favourite WWE superstar left Montreal with the Money in the Bank contract.

**KENNEDY**

To an almost mixed reaction, Mister Kennedy bounds onto the stage, wasting no time in getting to the ring. No microphone tonight (he just did the routine a minute ago anyway), it’s all business.

Jim Ross: After months of chasing the Intercontinental title, Mister Kennedy has set his sights even higher. Tonight, Kennedy will aim to add the moniker of ‘Mister Money in the Bank’ to ‘The 2006 King of the Ring’. He’s been saddled with the ‘unlimited potential’ tag, and tonight, Mister Kennedy will be determined to cash in on that potential.

The Coach: This is my pick J.R!! Mister Kennedy has been on a roll as of late. He focused too much on Mysterio for the last few months, and finally, he came to the realisation that he was better than that. Tonight, he realises his potential, and turns a lot of heads on Raw!!

**VIRTUAL VOODOO**

The Samoan Bulldozer is led out by his handler, the grinning Armando Estrada, whilst Umaga looks - as always - all business.

Jim Ross: Coach, business has just picked up. Never been pinned, has never looked like submitting, Umaga has been THE unstoppable force in the WWE since his debut last July. Surely, the odds on favourite tonight, but let’s not forget, he DOESN’T need to be involved in the decision to lose this match. It’s one fall, it’s sudden death, and everyone will have a chance.

The Coach: Without a doubt, if this was an elimination match, or Umaga had to beaten, I’d have it all riding on the Samoan Bulldozer. It’s not though, and you can bet, none of the other five guys will be targeting this beast.

**SEXY BOY**

The cheers- wait. This is Montreal. The BOOS are deafening, as Shawn Michaels prances onto the stage, ignoring the abuse, showing a wry smile, as he drops to his knees, and goes through his usual entrance, ahead of this opportunity to get back in the title hunt.

Jim Ross: Will you listen to this reaction. They never forget in Montreal, but let me tell ya, this type of vociferous reaction will only spur the Showstopper on. No man in this business is a better big match performer than the Heart Break Kid, and tonight, make no mistake about it, is a big match situation for Shawn Michaels.

The Coach: Well, as an old man used to say, we are in “Bizarro World” tonight, but seeing Shawn Michaels get this type of response makes me feel warm inside. I love it.

Michaels reaches the bottom of the aisle, and takes a look around, before quickly sliding into the ring … AND MAKING A BEELINE FOR UMAGA!!!

Raw Exclusive Money in the Bank Match:
Six Pack Challenge Match | One Fall to a Finish:
Shawn Michaels vs. Umaga vs. Kurt Angle vs. Matt Hardy vs. William Regal vs. Mr. Kennedy

After all the entrances, it’s Matt Hardy and Tyson Tomko that begin the contest, whilst we see Armando Estrada having to keep Umaga under control on the outside, with the Samoan Bulldozer chomping at the bit to get in the match. Both men move around tentatively, not wanting to make a mistake, then tie up, to officially get things going. Tomko overpowers the smaller man, and gets a headlock, but Hardy slips out, and rocks the big man with a trio of stiff, trademark Matt Hardy right hands, then gathers some pace, and runs off the ropes, charging at the Problem Solver, but Tomko moves, and goes for the big boot early, but Hardy ducks out of the way, and as he hit’s the ropes, Regal makes a blind tag. Hardy comes off the ropes, and knocks Tomko down, but is quickly ordered out of the ring by Mickey Henson, as Regal takes over on the big man.

The veteran Englishman stomps the hell out of the grounded Tomko, then drops a knee, quickly making a cover, shoving his forearm into the face of the big man, as we get the first count of the match, 1...2...Kick Out. Tomko kicks out, as Regal backs the big 6’6 Problem Solver into the corner, letting fly with a bunch of stiff right hands, looking to weaken Tomko, but before he can send him off with an Irish whip, Shawn Michaels tags off Regal, and the Montreal fans shit all over the Heart Break Kid. Michaels ignores the impassioned Canadians, and picks up where Regal left off, beating Tomko in the corner, but Regal isn’t happy with the tag, and argues with Henson, which allows Kennedy to step into the ring, and blasts HBK from behind with a forearm. Michaels stumbles into the ropes from that, which allows Tomko to recover, whilst Kennedy gets a pop from the bizarre-world fans, and Regal is escorted to his corner.

Kennedy steps back out, to his corner, as Tomko hip tosses HBK, before allowing a tag out to Kennedy. Kennedy brashly steps inside, and sticks his boot into the temple of HBK, getting a rousing pop from the fans, who still look dead set on giving Michaels a hard time tonight. Kennedy lets rip with a flurry of rights and lefts to his grounded opponent, before pressing him down with a cover, 1...2...Kick Out. HBK kicks out, but Kennedy is on the offence, stomping the head of the Showstopper, keeping him on the ground, then pulls him up, roughhousing Michaels into the corner, and driving his knee deep into the gut of Michaels. The 2006 King of the Ring then sends Michaels across the ring, into the corner, but as he races in, HBK gets a foot up, stopping Kennedy in his tracks, forcing him to staggers away, allowing Michaels to knock him down with a big right hand. The fans boo, but HBK refuses to acknowledge the fans reaction to him, as Kennedy pushes himself backward … toward the corner UMAGA is standing in.

The fans pick up, as Kennedy smirks, thinking he’s about to give HBK a fright by tagging in Umaga, but Michaels seems ready for it, telling the Bulldozer to bring it on … and Kennedy tags the big man in for the first time in the contest, to a bizarre pop. Umaga steps inside the ring, and stands across from HBK, with Michaels chomping at the bit for a piece of the undefeated savage … AND LAUNCHES HIMSELF AT UMAGA!!! The force of HBK sends Umaga into the corner, with Michaels unloading with a messy array of rights and lefts, finally getting himself a piece of Umaga after THREE consecutive beatings … but Umaga simply FLINGS HIM OFF!!! HBK tumbles onto the canvas, rolling through, but quickly getting to his feet, charging at the big man again, but Umaga shoves him away with force again!!! Still, HBK gets up as quick as a flash, but this time … UMAGA NAILS HIM WITH THE ROLLING WHEEL KICK!!!

The ass backward Canadian fans cheer the move, whilst J.R comments on the athleticism of the massive figure, able to hit such a move. Umaga stands over his rival, and grabs his arm, proceeding to drag Michaels across the ring, toward the corner, and, much to the delight of the grinning Estrada, Umaga begins to climb the buckles … but as he does … MATT HARDY makes a blind tag off Umaga, and gets inside … SHOVING UMAGA OFF THE BUCKLES … AND TUMBLING TO THE OUTSIDE!!! Matt gains a measure of revenge, having also been the victim of Umaga for the last two weeks, as the 350 pound beast crashes onto the floor!!! Hardy leans over the top rope, pointing to Estrada, talking trash to him, before being pulled away by the official, as Hardy gets his mind on the real business … and has a second crack at beating Michaels, after falling short last week on Raw.

Slowly, Michaels gets to his feet, as he and Matt lock eyes, from across the ring, and get set to collide again, quickly locking up, and struggling around the ring, with HBK getting an arm drag, going straight to a top wristlock, as Hardy tries to slip out, but Shawn sticks a knee into the face of Matt, stopping him from rising to his feet. Matt though is able to roll to a seated position, and pushes to his feet, switching to a hammerlock on Michaels, who instantly elbows free, and runs off the ropes, but Matt catches him with a running clothesline, knocking the legend down!!! He makes a cover, 1...2...Kick Out!!! Matt gets up, but before he can drag Michaels up with him, UMAGA TRIPS HIM FROM THE OUTSIDE … AND DRAGS HIM UNDER THE BOTTOM ROPE … SLAMMING HIM ONTO THE COLD HARD FLOOR!!!!!

Instantly, Mickey Henson gets to the outside, demanding that Estrada gets his man under control, with Armando telling Umaga to move away, as the undefeated savage slowly backs off from a writhing Matt Hardy. In the ring, the opportunistic Kennedy makes a blind tag off Michaels, which is spotted by the official, as Kennedy drops off the apron, looking to make the most of the opportunity given to him, and stomps Matt on the outside, dragging him up, and sends him, chest first, into the steel ring post, before rolling Matt back inside the ring. Kennedy then follows in, and sets himself for a run up with Matt sat in the corner … AND DELIVERS THE FACE WASH!!! Kennedy smirks at his work, and drags Hardy out, making a cover, 1...2...Shoulder up!!! Kennedy then keeps up the pressure dropping a quick elbow, jumping up, and dropping it again, before making the cover, hooking the leg tightly, 1...2...NO!!! Still, the 2006 King of the Ring stays on top, wildly stomping the head of his downed opponent, before pulling Matt up, and sending Hardy into the corner, but before he can charge into the corner … Regal saves Matt with a tag.

Kennedy back tracks, looking a little frustrated by the tag, with the eager Brit looking to get a piece of Kennedy after losing to the loudmouth on Raw. For a moment, Kennedy has to think about it, then goes for it, and the two lock up, with Regal quickly driving a knee to the gut of Ken, doubling the KOTR over, and charges Kennedy into the corner, sending his shoulder through the buckles, and into the ring post!!! Regal prowls around the ring, trying to fire up the fans (too little success), then wills Kennedy to come back out, and as Ken staggers from the corner, Regal takes him down with a snap mare, then KICKS the back of Kennedy STIFF!!! Kennedy writhes in pain, as Regal holds him down, shoving his forearm into the face of his opponent, 1...2...NO!!!

Regal is up quickly, once again waiting for a chance to attack Kennedy, but Kennedy doesn’t get to his feet, instead taking the opportunity of breathing space to crawl away to the corner, and tags Umaga back in, knowing the Samoan Bulldozer will be eager to get back in. The Bulldozer steps inside slowly, with Regal playing careful, realising he’s in a bit of trouble … but before he can get to grips with Umaga … Tomko surprisingly makes a tag. Regal looks around, almost relieved, but still surprised, and exit’s the ring, whilst Tomko looks to prove himself against the dominant big man. The fans aren’t quite as pumped for this battle of the big men as some would hope … but Tomko strikes first, looking to get the better of Umaga, but the Samoan Bulldozer fights him off, eventually taking Tomko off his feet with a big clothesline

To his credit, Tomko is right back up, hammering at Umaga, backing the dominant savage into the corner, but as he looks for an Irish whip across the ring … Umaga doesn’t want to play. Umaga refuses to budge, and then pulls Tomko into his path, and scoops him up, onto his shoulders … AND DELIVERS A SAMOAN DROP!!! After that impressive show of strength, Umaga makes a cover, 1...2...Kick Out. Tomko kicks out, much to the chagrin of Umaga, who reaches his feet, stomping the head of Tomko, before pulling him up, shoving him into the corner, and follows in, looking to hammer away at the Problem Solver, but Tomko covers up, and gets out of the corner, then trades with his big opponent, scoring with a big kick to the gut, then runs off the ropes to build up some speed … BUT UMAGA CATCHES HIM ON THE RETURN WITH A POWERSLAM!!!!! He makes the cover again, 1...2...KICK OUT!!!

Umaga looks up, and to the outside at Estrada, who simply points to Tomko, as if to say ‘keep at him’. The Samoan Bulldozer hauls the 6’6 Tomko to his feet, and sends him into the corner, backing into the opposite corner, looking perhaps for the running butt splash … BUT KENNEDY TAGS HIMSELF IN AGAIN OFF UMAGA!!! The King of the Ring gets back inside, whilst Henson quickly tries to step in front of Umaga, and get him out of the ring. Kennedy kicks Tomko in the gut, then sends him off the ropes, but Tomko ducks under a clothesline, then kicks Ken in the gut, looking to set up for a Pumphandle slam … but Kennedy elbows free … and scores with a DDT!!! He turns Tomko over, hooking the leg tightly…

………………………………………
………REGAL BREAKS THE PIN………
!!!

Kennedy is furious at the blatant interference, and complains to Henson, but as the referee orders Regal out of the ring … Hardy slips in … spins Kennedy around … AND HIT’S THE SIDE EFFECT!!! Hardy nails Kennedy, but his plan to perhaps tag in from a recovering Tomko backfires … as Michaels tags the Problem Solver, whilst Matts back is turned. HBK then steps inside, and makes the most of the opportunity, making the cover on Kennedy … but Matt drags him off!!! Michaels instantly jumps to his feet, and the two men share a few words, but as they do … Kennedy is tagged by Umaga!!! Matt and HBK continue to argue, not noticing Umaga … but the Samoan Bulldozer soon lets himself be known … AND RUNS THROUGH BOTH MEN WITH A DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE!!!

The Samoan Bulldozer then kicks Matt out of the ring, before getting HBK all to himself again, and hurls the Showstopper into the corner … charging in FOR THE RUNNING BUTT SPLASH … BUT HBK MOVES OUT OF THE WAY … THEN GOES FOR SWEET CHIN MUSIC … BUT UMAGA DUCKS … AND SCORES WITH A SUPERKICK OF HIS OWN!!!!! Umaga looks to make the cover, but as he bends down … TOMKO COMES OUT OF NOWHERE WITH A MASSIVE BIG BOOT!!! The force of the boot knocks Umaga down, and sends him rolling out of the ring, to the floor!!! Tomko lets out a massive roar, finally getting one over on the other big man, then bends over to pick up HBK, but as he does … REGAL RUNS THROUGH TOMKO WITH A MASSIVE RUNNING KNEE!!!

The fans pop for the aggressive move, whilst it seems Henson is losing all control over the match up, and as Regal looks to capitalise on Tomko, Kennedy is back in, and sticks a knee into the back of Regal, sending him tumbling out of the ring, and to the floor below. The 2006 King of the Ring stomps Tomko, keeping him at bay as he gets up, but Tomko pushes him away, then runs at Kennedy, but the loudmouth ducks a clothesline, then scores with a kick to the gut, and delivers THE MIC CHECK!!! Kennedy makes the cover, but Henson refuses to count, as NEITHER Kennedy or Tomko is the legal man!!! Kennedy has a mini temper tantrum, pounding the mat in fury, but as he gets up, HBK is back to his feet, and Michaels strikes Kennedy, pounding him into the ropes, letting fly with a few knife edge chops, to a mixture of ‘WOOOS’ and ‘BOOS’ from the fans.

Michaels lights up the chest of Kennedy before running off the ropes, coming back at Kennedy, but Kennedy side steps the legend, sending Michaels over the top … BUT MICHAELS HANGS ONTO THE ROPES!!! The boos filter through the Bell Centre, as Michaels looks to skin the cat … BUT UMAGA IS BACK UP … AND GRABS THE LEGS OF HBK … THROWING HIM OFF THE ROPES AND ONTO THE FLOOR!!! In the ring, Kennedy laughs, not aware that behind him, Matt Hardy is winding up, waiting for him to turn around … and as Kennedy turns … MATT KICKS HIM IN THE GUT … AND GOES FOR THE TWIST OF FATE … BUT KENNEDY SHOVES HIM AWAY … AND REGAL LOW BRIDGES THE ROPES … SENDING HARDY OUT OF THE RING!!!

Regal now steps back inside, and meets Kennedy, with the pair trading blows, back and forth, whilst on the outside, Umaga has delivered a sick, swinging side slam on Michaels, crushing him on the paper thin mats!!! Inside, Kennedy has got the better of Regal, and sends him off the ropes, but Regal bounces back with a kick to the gut, looking to follow up with a butterfly suplex, but Kennedy spins free, knocking Regal down with a stiff clothesline!!! Kennedy looks to continue, but Umaga has re-entered the ring, and Kennedy spots him, then oddly backs off, holding his hands up in innocence, slowly backing out of the ring, and back onto the apron, allowing Umaga to get to work on Regal. The Bulldozer hoists himself onto the middle turnbuckle, and sets himself … FLYING OFF WITH A HEADBUTT!!! Regal spazzes out, flopping like a fish out of water, overselling the effects of the move, as Umaga looks to drag him to his feet, but before he can … MATT HARDY MAKES A TAG ON UMAGA!!! Umaga spins around, looking ready to rip Hardys head off, but before he can … KENNEDY CLOBBERS UMAGA WITH A CHAIR TO THE BACK!!!

Umaga doesn’t go down, but Kennedy nails him with the chair again, sending the undefeated Samoan Bulldozer through the ropes, and out of the ring once again!!! Kennedy looks proud of himself for taking Umaga out, but has forgotten about Hardy, then turns around … AND MATT IS THERE … AND YANKS THE CHAIR FROM KENNEDYS GRASP!!! Hardy then swings the chair, but Kennedy ducks, then kicks the chair out of Matt’s hands, and quickly looks to hit the Mic Check on Matt … BUT HARDY ELBOWS FREE … CATCHES KENNEDY WITH A KICK TO THE GUT … TWIST OF FATE CONNECTS!!!!! Matt looks to make the cover … BUT HENSON WONT COUNT … KENNEDY ISNT THE LEGAL MAN!!!

Hardy holds his head in his hands, knowing he has the match won, whilst Kennedy rolls out of the ring. Matt then looks around, being told Shawn Michaels is the other legal man, and looks to get out of the ring to bring HBK back in, but before he can, TOMKO TAGS MATT!!!!! Tomko makes himself legal, and gets inside the ring, with The Problem Solver beating Hardy to the punch, quickly sending Matt off the ropes … BUT HARDY FLIES OUT WITH A CLOTHESLINE!!!!! Tomko staggers into the corner, getting to his feet almost instantly, as Hardy runs into the corner, scoring with a corner clothesline, then delivers a bulldog out of the corner!!!

Matt jumps to his feet, feeding off the fans, and makes a beeline for the corner, pushing himself to the middle turnbuckle, looking to deliver the diving leg drop … but before he does, REGAL TAGS MATT (still believing Hardy is the legal man), and pounds Hardy from behind, before climbing the buckles himself and hooking Matt in position … AND DELIVERS A TOP ROPE BUTTERFLY SUPLEX!!! Both men are down, with Tomko up now, stomping Matt out of the ring, before focusing on Regal, dragging him up … BUT REGAL NAILS HIM … WITH BRASS KNUCKS!!!!!! The infamous ‘Power of the Punch’ makes a shocking return, as Regal puts the knucks back into his trunks, then looks for HBK, thinking he’s the legal man, along with Michaels. Regal slides out of the ring, and grabs HBK, throwing him back inside, and dragging him up immediately, and looking for the Regal Cutter … BUT HBK PUSHES HIM AWAY … and as Regal comes back, Michaels hit’s an inverted atomic drop, before clothes lining the veteran out of the ring!!! Michaels then turns around, and sprints across the ring, knocking Umaga back off the apron … THEN DELIVERS SWEET CHIN MUSIC TO TOMKO!!! Michaels, as the legal man along with Tomko makes the cover…

…………………
……KENNEDY BREAKS THE COUNT……
!!!!!

Kennedy saves the match, hammering away at Michaels, but HBK swings wildly himself, fighting off the King of the Ring, but Kennedy stops his momentum by raking the eyes of Michaels!!! Kennedy clubs the back of HBK, then throws him off the ropes (with Umaga making a blind tag as he hit’s the ropes) AND HBK REBOUNDS WITH A FLYING FOREARM!!! Michaels and Kennedy both lie on the mat momentarily … THEN SHAWN NIPS UP!!! It’s another horrendous reaction for HBK from the Canadians … but they erupt into cheers, as almost instantaneously UMAGA RUNS THROUGH HIM WITH A THUNDEROUS CLOTHESLINE!!! Umaga then looks out at Estrada, who points to Tomko, telling Umaga that he is the legal man. Umaga then focuses in on Tomko, dragging him up, and setting him in the corner, backing up, looking to deliver the RUNNING BUTT SPLASH … AND DOES!!!

Umaga walks out of the corner, yelling tribal gibberish, but doesn’t spot MATT HARDY tag Tomko, just as the Problem Solver staggers out of the corner, and into the path of Umaga, who looks to deliver the SAMOAN SPIKE … but Kennedy, who hasn’t seen the blind tag of Hardy, saves Tomko, believing he’s the legal man, and attacks Umaga, with Regal joining in!!! The two men beat the Bulldozer into the corner, and together … DELIVER A DOUBLE SUPLEX TO THE BULLDOZER!!! The fans come alive for the awesome sight of seeing Umaga suplexed … and as soon as he has been … HARDY JUMPS TO THE MIDDLE ROPE … AND DROPS THE DIVING LEG DROP!!! He makes the cover, with Kennedy and Regal unaware he’s the legal man…

………………………………………

…………2…………
…KENNEDY QUICKLY DRAGS HARDY OFF…
!!!

Umaga kicks out anyway, but Kennedy stomps down Matt, whilst Regal joins in, but the two men start to push each other, looking to get Matt, and eventually, break down into a slugfest, unable to work together!!! As that happens, Tomko takes advantage, dragging Hardy to the corner, and stepping onto the apron, looking to tag Matt, and does, making himself legal once again. He then gets back in … but as he does … MICHAELS TAGS TOMKO!!! Tomko turns around, and swings at HBK, but Michaels ducks, then drops the big man onto the ropes, throat first, sending him reeling, with Umaga up, hoisting the Problem Solver in the air, and NAILS HIM WITH A SWINGING FLAPJACK!!!!!

HBK then takes the opportunity to tackle Umaga AND KICKS HIM IN THE NUTS!!! Blatant low blow from HBK!!! And then Michaels launches at Umaga, and TAKES HIM DOWN … HAMMERING LIKE A MADMAN!!! Shawn finally gets the better of his recent enemy, beating down the massive Bulldozer, whilst Regal beats Kennedy down in the corner. Regal then lifts Ken to the top turnbuckle, and climbs himself … but as he does … MATT HARDY CHARGES ACROSS THE RING … SHOVING REGAL OFF … AND OUT OF THE RING TO THE FLOOR!!! Kennedy has a special way to thank Matt though … by kicking him!!! Kennedy jumps off the top with an axe handle onto Matt, then throws him over the top rope, but Hardy lands on the apron. Kennedy doesn’t realise though, and turns his attention to the fallen Tomko, dragging him up … but Tomko pushes him away … AND GOES FOR A BIT BOOT … BUT KENNEDY DUCKS … AND TOMKO HITS MATT … AND MATT FALLS OFF THE APRON AND ONTO REGAL!!!

The Problem Solver takes a second to look at the damage done, then turns around … AND KENNEDY LUNGES, KNOCKING TOMKO DOWN WITH A CLOTHESLINE!!! It’s only Michaels, Umaga and Kennedy in the ring now, but Kennedy drops out, still believing Matt Hardy is the legal man, and with just HBK and Umaga inside, it’s down to the two legal men at this point. Michaels finally gets up from Umaga after pounding him for the last thirty seconds, non stop. The Heart Break Kid walks to the corner, AND BEGINS TO TUNE UP THE BAND … to a chorus of boos from the Montreal fans!!! Still, Michaels ignores the boos, and waits for his dazed adversary to get up … AND SCORES WITH SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!! Umaga though … DOESN’T GO DOWN!!! The Samoan Bulldozer staggers … then stumbles into the ropes … GETTING TIED UP!!! Michaels then looks down at Tomko, and seeing Umaga tied up, decides to climb the ropes, attempting to deliver the Flying Elbow … but as he climbs … KENNEDY IS BACK and has realised who the legal men are, and in his master plan, pounds the back of HBK, stopping him from flying, and climbs himself … getting into position, with HBK ON HIS SHOULDERS … AND THE GREEN BAY PLUNGE CONNECTS!!!!!!!!!!

The Bell Centre pops for the awesome looking move, as Kennedy himself sells the move momentarily, before getting to his feet, and throws Tomko out of the ring as he was getting up, then moves toward the trapped Samoan Bulldozer, stepping onto the apron, looking to make a legal tag … BUT MICKEY HENSON DOESN’T SEE IT, AS HE IS TOO BUSY STOPPING MATT HARDY FROM BRINGING A STEEL CHAIR INTO THE RING!!! Kennedy believes he’s the legal man, and covers HBK, who is simply there for the taking … and with no count made, the King of the Ring looks around, and gets up, grabbing Henson, pointing to Michaels, and smacking his hands three times to signal a count, but Henson points to Umaga, saying he’s the legal man, and not Kennedy. Kennedy though is incensed, and argues with Henson that he made a tag … but as the argument goes on … UMAGA IS FREED FROM THE ROPES!!!

The Samoan Bulldozer grabs Kennedy from behind, pounding the loudmouth, and throwing him up in the air … AND PRESS SLAMS KENNEDY TO THE OUTSIDE … ONTO HARDY, TOMKO AND REGAL!!! The other four men are out of commission, as Umaga turns his attention to Michaels, who is slowly stirring, and pulls himself up on Umaga … but as he gets to his vertical base … UMAGA GRIPS HIM BY THE THROAT … THROWS HIM IN THE AIR … SAMOAN SPIKE!!! Michaels crumbles to the mat, as Umaga makes the lateral press, sticking his tongue out, and counting along in his native tongue as Henson makes the count…

WINNER: AND NEW MISTER MONEY IN THE BANK - UMAGA @ 17:22

It’s an ominous sight, as Estrada grabs the briefcase from ringside, quickly scurrying into the ring, and joining his monster, raising Umagas arm in the air, with the Samoan Bulldozer now guaranteed a title shot for any time in the coming eleven months.

As Umaga and Estrada leave the ring, Kennedy is seen picking himself up at ringside, shaking his head in fury, before looking to the camera and mouthing “I HAD IT WON”, which technically, he did. The 2006 King of the Ring shakes his head in bitter anger, as we see Umaga and the delighted Estrada leaving through the curtain.

RETURNING TO WWE TELEVISION

MAY 1ST 2007

****

Backstage, we now see Christian making his way through the hallway, as the World Heavyweight Championship match … IS NEXT!!!

The graphic then appears for the World Heavyweight Championship Match, as the HIAC lowers with the lights dimming, and the tension music playing.

Jim Ross: It is moments away from claiming two more victims. Hell in a Cell makes it’s return to Pay Per View, and it will settle the most personal of rivalries. Here is how Hell in a Cell came to Backlash…

***
CHRISTIAN | TRIPLE H
________________________________________

Open up, with Christian on his knees in celebration at WrestleMania, as we also see his hand raised, confetti falling from the ceiling, and his family joining the celebrations.

Triple H: As great as it must’ve felt at WrestleMania, having your hand raised, feeling the confetti fall from the ceiling, having your family join you in celebration as you hoisted the World title over your head … somewhere … somewhere in the back of your mind you had to be thinking … ‘What if?’

We see previously unaired footage, post WrestleMania, of Christian walking up the long aisle in the Superdome.

Triple H: In the back of his mind somewhere, Christian, during his defining moment had to be thinking … ‘What if I had faced Triple H, and not Cena’.

More previously unaired footage, of Christian being congratulated by workers and staff, backstage after WrestleMania.

Triple H: Well at Backlash … you’ll ALL find out … every single one of you will find out why it was me that ended Christians first World title run, because I will be ending his second … and final run as World Heavyweight Champion.

Clips of Triple H defeating Christian for the championship last October, on the 700th edition of Raw.

Christian: You’re right. The entire time I was having my moment … that crowning achievement at the closing moments … the very end of WrestleMania, the night that I’d worked my entire career for … there was one overriding thought in my head, one point nagging me throughout the celebrations … ‘What if?’

Long, panning shot of Christian on the buckles at WrestleMania, holding the title aloft.

Christian: But it wasn’t why you’d think. It wasn’t “Would I be standing here celebrating if it had been The Game??” … no. It was “How much sweeter would this have been if Triple H had made it to WrestleMania instead”.

Clips of Christian getting screwed on Raw last October to lose the belt, then clips of Christian at the Royal Rumble, eliminating Umaga, then, bloodied and battered, overcoming Brock Lesnar to win the Rumble match.

Christian: It was the thought of getting my hands on you at WrestleMania that drove me to overcome all the obstacles, it was the thought of reclaiming this title by beating the man who stole it from me that pushed me to outlast twenty nine men at the Royal Rumble. It was the thought of gaining revenge over you that gave me the desire to never give up.

Clips of Christian having to run the gauntlet on April 2, defeating all comers, until the arrival of Tyson Tomko.

Christian: And while WrestleMania Twenty Three will forever be the greatest night of my career … Backlash is gonna be the sweetest. Because at Backlash, I finally get the answer to ‘what if’, when I get my shot at retribution … I get the shot I’ve waited six months for.

Triple H annihilates Christian at the end of the gruelling Gauntlet match, bloodying him with the sledgehammer, then standing over him…

Triple H: You’re on borrowed time, Champ. Tonight was simply a taster for the hell you’re going to experience at Backlash. This is just the beginning … at Backlash, you’re gonna experience the real thing … at Backlash, you’re truly going to experience hell

Pause.

Triple H: IN A CELL!!!

Suddenly, the package takes on a different tone, with the ominous Hell in a Cell structure being shown, hanging above the ring, with the tone of music drastically changing.

Jim Ross: It is a perverse…

Shots of welders putting the device together.

Jerry Lawler: SATANIC!!!

Jim Ross: Vile … diabolical structure.

More clips of stars from past and present taking punishment in the cell.

Jim Ross: Over two tonnes, of unforgiving steel.

Mick Foley flying off the cell in 1998.

Jim Ross: GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY, THAT KILLED HIM!!!

Mick Foley then going through the Cell in the same match.

Jerry Lawler: That’s it, he’s dead.

Flashing shots of superstars crashing into the cell walls, Randy Orton bloodied and battered, John Cena the same.

Michael Cole: The most dangerous match in the history of the WWE.

Shawn Michaels falling off the cell in 1997.

Jerry Lawler: INCOMING, INCOMING!!!

The Coach: It truly is, HELL in a Cell.

Flashing shots of Foley crashing into the thumbtacks inside the cell in 1998, Randy Orton delivering the top rope RKO onto the chair to Cena last year, and Rikishi going off the top, and into the pick up truck.

Jim Ross: The pain these two men are about to endure … is inhuman (echoes of inhuman)

Clips of Triple H in action over the years inside Hell in a Cell.

Jim Ross: The Game will enter hell for the sixth time at Backlash, and holds an incredible record inside the cell, having NEVER been pinned.

The infamous back body drop from Triple H to Cactus Jack in 2000 … The Pedigree on top of the Cell to Jericho … the bloodied face of Kevin Nash.

The Coach: And in the process, he ended the career of Mick Foley … he finished off Kevin Nash as a top class competitor … and it took Chris Jericho years to recover from their battle inside the Cell. Christian is gonna follow.

Shots of Christian in action, facing The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin over the last two years.

Jim Ross: It will be the biggest challenge in the career of Captain Charisma. He has never encountered a beast like the Cell.

Clips of doctors tending to Mick Foley in 1998, Shawn Michaels laying in a pool of blood in 1997, and John Cena looking dazed and wild eyed last year.

Jim Ross: It’s ruined careers, and as you pointed out, in some instances … ended them.

Clips of Triple H having his hand raised inside the Cell over the years, and celebrating on the top of the structure in 2002.

The Coach: And the man that’s done it more than anyone else … is Triple H.

Clips of Triple H and Christian battling it out, hammering one another.

Triple H: Not only will I bring an end to your second reign as World Heavyweight Champ … I will bring an end to your career … inside MY PLAYGROUND!!!

More fast paced shots of bodies hitting the cell wall, Triple H yielding a sledgehammer, nailing the Pedigree.

Triple H: You cant prepare for Hell in a Cell … once that door locks, you’ll know if you’re made for Hell, or you’ll find yourself simply out of your depth … surrounded by steel … nowhere to run, nowhere to hide … with no excuses, and no second chances … it’s live … or die.

Christian pounding his chest, pointing to the fans.

Christian: I sure as hell don’t fear stepping inside the Cell … in fact, I look forward to it. You see, you fail to remember that I’ve put my body on the line more times than I can remember in ladder matches, TLC matches, and just about every other match there is. At Backlash, I get to add Hell in a Cell to that list.

Clips of Christian in TLC matches, flying off the ladder, crashing through the tables, and shots of him bleeding at the Royal Rumble.

Christian: So save the mind games, I know what to expect … I’ve had broken bones, I’ve crashed through tables, and I’ve seen my own blood before.

Shots of Christian fighting through blood loss, notably at the Royal Rumble.

Christian: I’ve bled before, I’ll bleed again, and I’ll surely bleed at Backlash … but no matter how much blood I lose, no matter how many bones break … you will NEVER BREAK ME.

Christian in the past, chasing Triple H, and being beat down by the McMahon Family Empire.

Christian: You cant escape, or run, or hide. I don’t have to worry about looking over my shoulder for a member of your family coming to save your ass … it’s just gonna be us … and the score WILL be settled, once and for all.

Champion and Challenger, face to face, last week on Raw.

Triple H: You’ve been through TLC … but Hell in a Cell?? It’s a completely different animal. You’ve succeeded in TLC matches … because to win, you don’t need a killer instinct.

Shots of Christian (with Edge) claiming victory in TLC, and other ladder matches, retrieving the titles.

Triple H: For Hell in a Cell, that killer instinct is essential … and that’s just to survive … and you don’t have it.

Close up of the eyes of Christian.

Triple H: You’re a heck of a competitor, Christian. You’ve got fighting spirit, and you’ve got heart, I wont deny that. But you lack one thing … the one thing you need this Sunday. And I’m looking in your eyes, trying to find it … and I don’t see it.

Cut to the brawl, last Monday on Raw, with the fight spilling to the outside of the ring.

Triple H: You don’t have the killer instinct … you’ve got a heart … you‘ve got remorse.

Triple H getting the better of the brawl on the outside.

Triple H: And when it comes to the crunch, you wont do what’s necessary to get the job done.

The Game bringing out the infamous sledgehammer on Raw, last Monday.

Christian: I’m not just setting out to retain the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash … I’m planning on finishing The Game … forever.

Christian then fights back, avoiding the hammer, swung by The Game.

Triple H: It’s not up for debate, kid. The fact is, you don’t have that killer instinct to take me out once and for all, and finish the job.

Christian looking at the hammer on Raw, slowly picking it up, and looking long and hard at the lethal weapon.

Triple H: If you get the chance to put me out for good … you’ll hesitate … you’ll think … and your conscience will win out.

Clips of Triple H over the years, using the sledgehammer.

Triple H: Look at my eyes, then take a look in the mirror, and see your own. That’s the difference. I’m prepared to do the sick, reprehensible acts that end careers. I’m prepared to smash your skull into a million different pieces with a sledgehammer.

Christian stands over Triple H, and has the hammer cocked and loaded for a massive shot … but once he has Triple H’s attention - caught in the headlights - the champion chucks the hammer out of the ring!!!

Triple H: … you arent … and you never will be.

Christian leaving the ring on Monday, with questions marks looming over his ‘killer instinct’

Triple H: And at Backlash … inside Hell in a Cell … The King of Kings will step over your broken, bloodied body … and back on his throne.

Final clips from Raw, with Triple H smirking, realising his point had been proven.

Triple H: And for you Christian … it’ll be over. It’ll be … all over.

One final shot of the Hell in a Cell structure.

Back into the arena…

**TIME TO PLAY THE GAME**

Carrying his trusty bottle of water, Triple H, focused as ever, steps onto the stage, and proceeds to go through the regular routine. Intense standing pose, mouthful of water, pause, spit, charge. The Game makes his way down the aisle, showing no difference in his demeanour, as he prepare to encounter hell.

Jim Ross: His experience inside Hell in a Cell is second to none. Ten times World Champion, Triple H has done it all in this business, but his hunger to be World Champion never ceases. Tonight, The Game will drag Christian through hell to attempt to make it number eleven.

The Coach: And he WILL, J.R. The Game said it on Monday, Christian lacks the killer instinct that you need inside Hell in a Cell. Would Christian have had the intestinal fortitude to end Mick Foleys career?? Would Christian have been as ruthless against Kevin Nash?? No on all counts. Tonight, when the opportunity comes, Triple H will put Captain Charisma away once and for all.

Without hesitation, Triple H walks into the steel structure, and completes his entrance, spitting water once again, before climbing the turnbuckles. As the music ceases, The Game looks around the device he knows so well, nodding to himself, as he gears up for hell.

**JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES**

The reaction is off the charts for Christian. The Canadian gets a near ‘Bret Hart’ reaction from the adoring fans, and shows a glimpse of a smile to the audience, pounding his chest, and pointing to ‘The Peeps’, before turning his attention, his undivided attention, to the ring … and the cell.

Jim Ross: The man that closed WrestleMania last month, cementing his status as the premiere star in the WWE today, Captain Charisma faces an altogether different challenge tonight. He’s never encountered Hell in a Cell, he’s never been faced with this kind of pressure, from an arena full of his compatriots. Christian will tonight face the biggest test of his mettle, tonight will determine the legitimacy of Christian as the biggest star in the WWE. If he can overcome Triple H tonight, inside the demonic Hell in a Cell, he can surely have no more doubters.

The Coach: Agreed. But J.R, I just don’t see it. He doesn’t have the killer instinct. You NEED to be ruthless. Captain Charisma though, has a heart, Triple H’s is as black as they come. His talent wont be enough to see him through tonight, old timer.

Christian stops outside the cell, looking to the sides, looking above, then rattles the cell wall, before stepping inside, taking another look around, and a brief glance at the challenger, before stepping inside the ring.

Jim Ross: The moment of truth has come Coach. Hell awaits Triple H and Christian inside this cell, all for the richest prize in the game. How far will these two men go to keep, or capture the World Heavyweight Championship.

World Heavyweight Championship;
Hell in a Cell Match:
Christian vs. Triple H

Both men step to the middle of the ring, with the fans buzzing in anticipation, as champion and challenger both take a look around the structure, before setting their focus on one another again. The trash talk begins, mainly from Triple H, and The Game looks to strike the first blow, but Christian blocks it, firing a right hand of his own, as the two men waste no time settling in, getting right to the action, trading punches, dead centre of the ring. Christian is the aggressor, letting out his pent up frustration, backing the challenger into the corner, and unloads a barrage of savage right hands in the corner, with HHH unable to get his hands up to protect himself from the incessant blows!!!

Finally, Christian relents, and walks away from the corner, getting a HUGE pop from his adoring public, whilst Triple H slumps down in the corner after a devastating opening sequence from Captain Charisma. Christian pounds his chest to the fans, before coming back to the challenger, dragging him to his feet, and out of the corner, leaning him against the ropes before firing him off with an Irish whip, but Christian ducks down for the return, giving The Game a clear opening, as he return, delivering a FACEBUSTER!!! Christian reels away, as HHH lines him up … and knocks him down with a running clothesline!!!

In a polar opposite response, the Montreal audience shower The Game with heat, as he closes in on Christian who has crawled to the corner, and the challenger stomps away at the torso of the champion, half a dozen times, before dropping down, and rolling to the outside. There, he grabs the legs of the champion, and attempts to yank him into the post, nuts first … but at the last moment, CHRISTIAN USES HIS OWN LEG POWER … AND YANKS TRIPLE H FACE FIRST INTO THE POST!!! A pop reverberates around the Bell Centre, as Triple H staggers away from the post, whilst Christian now rolls outside himself, and stalks down The Game, hurling the challenger, back first, into the cell wall!!!

Everything Christian does gets a massive pop, as the champion repeats the same trick, ramming Triple H into the cell, then positions himself at his side, before getting innovative, and delivers a Russian Leg Sweep into the cell wall!!! Trips slumps down again, wincing in pain, but Christian shows no remorse, pulling him back up by the head, and runs across the floor, RAMMING Triple H, face first into the cell wall to another big pop. The Game staggers away, spaghetti legged already, whilst in the early going, it seems like Christian feels at home inside the WWE’s most demonic structure.

He follows The Game around the cell, then turns him around, looking to continue the punishment, but gets suckered by the challenger who rakes the eyes. Christian doubles over, holding his face, as The Game attempts to buy himself some time, and shoves Christian with velocity into the cell wall. The champion staggers out, and gets a straight right hand from The Game, knocking him down. Triple H then stumbles over a cameraman as he stumbles away, and takes exception, pushing the weedy worker away, shoving him into the cell, and grabs the wires from the camera, wrapping them around the neck of Christian, choking the life out of the champion, whose eyes bug out as he struggles for air.

Triple H continues to choke Christian, as the Canadian gasps for air, but eventually, the challenger releases, and walks away, allowing Christian to pull the cables away, as The Game stomps the poor cameraman, before dragging him to his feet … AND SENDS HIM INTO CHRISTIAN WITH AN IRISH WHIP!!! Christian gets sandwiched by the cameraman and the cell wall, with Triple H methodically going about his business. He drags Christian away from the mess, and to the opposite corner of the outer area, looking to ram the champions face into the cage, but the home town hero blocks it, elbowing The Game in the midsection, and turns the tables, RAMMING the challengers head off the cell!!! Christian then rakes The Games face on the mesh, with Triple H groaning in pain, before Captain Charisma pulls him away, and rolls him back inside the ring.

Christian follows in, and backs The Game into the ropes, before sending him off, but as he returns, Triple H ducks under a clothesline attempt, then another, before catching Captain Charisma with a running high knee!!! There is another wave of heat for The Game, as he knocks Christian back off his feet, then drops a knee onto the face of the champion, ala Ric Flair, then makes the first cover of the match, hooking the leg, 1...2...Kick Out. Wasting no time off the kick out, Triple H hauls the champion back up, pushing him into the corner, and unleashes a succession of straight right hands, pounding the skull of Christian, before sending him across the ring to the opposite corner, but as he reaches the corner, Christian hops up, and leaps back out, over The Game, surprising him with a sunset flip, 1...2...Kick Out from The Game!!

Triple H bounces up off the cover, but Christian strikes first, knocking him down with a dropkick, and quickly goes back on the assault, again unloading his pent up anger on HHH, hammering the challenger with a blistering succession of right hands, before repeatedly smashing the challengers skull off the mat, showing an example of his supposedly non-existent mean streak. Christian eventually puts a stop to his attack on The Game, and gets to his feet, stamping on the head of Triple H for good measure. The challenger turns over, and begins to crawl toward the ropes, looking dazed after the focus from Christian on targeting the head. As Triple H crawls away, the champion gives him a bit of verbals, talking trash, and slapping the challengers head as he reaches for the ropes, again, showing a mean streak.

Then, as The Game tries to pull himself up on the ropes, Christian steps on the challengers back, and uses the ropes for leverage, choking The Game in the ropes, as Triple H flails his arms around in desperation. Christian then steps down, and takes a look around, with the fans giving him more love, as he takes the fight to Triple H, showing no signs of fear or inexperience inside the HIAC structure. Meanwhile, a woozy Triple H stumbles through the ropes, onto the apron, and slowly drags himself to his feet, and as soon as he reaches the vertical base, CHRISTIAN RACES ACROSS … AND SHOULDER BLOCKS TRIPLE H OFF THE APRON … AND FLYING INTO THE CELL!!!!!

Montreal comes alive, as Triple H writhes in agony off the fall, arching his back, and selling the pain, whilst Christian nods to the on looking fans, then turning his attention back to Triple H, waiting for him to get back to his feet on the outside, and as the challenger uses the apron to get back up … CHRISTIAN RACES ACROSS THE RING AGAIN … TOPE THROUGH THE ROPES … BUT TRIPLE H MOVES … AND CHRISTIAN DIVES … HEAD FIRST … INTO THE CELL!!! The reaction inside the Bell Centre is a sudden hush, as the camera focuses in on the immobile body of Christian, as he lays on his front, head down, not moving an inch following the sick dive that went wrong. A faint ‘HOLY SHIT’ chant can be heard, as Triple H regains his breath at the ring post, looking over at the body of Christian, who slowly turns over … AND HE IS BUSTED OPEN!! The Champion has been busted open, with many fans in the arena reacting with an ‘OOH’ to the first sight of blood in this signature match for blood loss in the WWE.

And with the sight of Christians blood, Triple H is like a shark in the water, quickly moving into action, sticking his boot into the forehead of the champion, attempting the open the wound further. Christian tries to get his arms up to defend himself, but is unable to block the force of The Game, who looks to have gotten a second wind, before grabbing Christians legs, and moving him into a perfect position … AND CATAPULTS CHRISTIAN, FACE FIRST, INTO THE CELL!!! The bloodied champion staggers away, with the blood now pouring from his head, thanks to the merciless nature of The Game. And now, Triple H is like a dog with a bone, giving the champion no time to recover, grabbing his arm, and with ALL his strength, Irish whips Christian, FACE FIRST into the cell, then follows up with a clothesline to the back of the head, CRUSHING Christian against the cell again!!!

On commentary, J.R remarks that we are seeing The Game in his element now, proving how invaluable his experience in this setting is, with The Coach all too happy to agree. Triple H drags Christian to his feet, grabbing the arm again, and once again Irish whips him, this time THROUGH THE STEEL STEPS!!! Shoulder first, the champion crashes through the steel steps, creating another sickening thud, with Christian merely representing the ball in a pinball machine at this point, and The Game is loving it.

Triple H stalks Christian down as the champion crawls around the outside, trying to get his head straight, but The Game drops an elbow to the back, putting Christian back down to the mat. With the champion at bay, The Game now takes the time to grab the steps, sliding them under the bottom rope, and not stopping there. He then grabs the top steps, and slides them into the ring too, as it becomes apparent that the challenger has a sinister idea running through his head. Seeing Christian pulling himself up using the steel mesh, Triple H comes back after him, grabbing him by the head, and slamming the bloody face of Christian off the ring apron, before rolling him inside.

The Game follows in, and stomps Christian to keep him down, before dragging one set of steps to a corner, setting them upright, before taking the other set of steps and doing the same thing with them in the opposite corner. After rearranging the furniture, Triple H comes back after Christian, and drags him to his feet again, but he’s given him too much time to recover, AS CHRISTIAN FIGHTS BACK!!! The champion gives the fans something to cheer about, delivering blows to the gut of the challenger, winding The Game, as he pulls to a vertical base, and backs Triple H against the ropes, letting fly with a messy array of right hands, but as he goes for a whip off the ropes, Triple H turns it around, and pulls Christian in, with a kick to the gut, and delivers a sudden DDT!!! Triple H decides to go for the cover, and hooks the leg, 1...2...NO!!! The battered champion still has plenty of fight left in the tank, but The Game doesn’t appear to be bothered by the kick out, instead rolling off, and dragging Christian to his feet, keeping him under control with a right hand, before delivering an Irish whip, WITH VELOCITY … SENDING CHRISTIAN CHEST FIRST … INTO THE STEEL STEPS IN THE CORNER!!!

Instantly, Christian tumbles to the mat, clutching his chest, but there is no sympathy from the Cerebral Assassin, and he gives Christian no rest bite, pulling him back to his feet, and pulling off the same trick, to the opposite corner where the steps are, CHEST FIRST AGAIN!!! Triple H quickly steps in, stopping Christian from going down again, AND AGAIN SENDS HIM ACROSS THE RING … CHEST FIRST … INTO THE UPRIGHT STEPS!!! Captain Charisma goes down, holding his chest, and gasping for a breath, whilst Triple H simply shakes his head, as if to indicate, I’m not done yet. On commentary, J.R has gone all righteous, proclaiming that ‘Triple H should just get it over with’, and that ‘we are witnessing the end of a mans career here’, whilst, as you’d expect, The Coach is giddy with glee. The Game drags the bloody champion to his feet, and one more time, with even more velocity than before, HE WHIPS CHRISTIAN - CHEST FIRST - INTO THE STEEL STEPS!!! Christian falls to the mat, as Triple H walks over, and SLAMS THE STEPS DOWN ONTO THE PRONE CHRISTIAN!!!

The heat is unbearable, as the fans voice their displeasure at the savage beating their hero is receiving. Triple H though feeds off the hatred from the fans, and raises his arms prematurely in victory, standing beside the bloodied body of the broken down champion. With that, Triple H moves to one of the free corners where there are no steps, and proceeds to rip off the top turnbuckle pad, surely with more evil intentions on his mind. He throws the padding away, despite the pleading of Charles Robinson not to, before getting back to Christian, who is now in his knees. The Game, loving the dominance he’s currently holding, stands over the battered champion, and methodically strikes with slow, but deliberate blows to the skull, continuing to open the gaping wound in the champions head. He backs up for a moment, then proceeds to stick his boot into the head of Christian, sending the champion down once again, as the fans grow more and more silent with each attack.

Triple H grabs the arm of Captain Charisma, and drags his lifeless body to the corner, before hauling him up to his feet, and without any type of defence from the battered champion, Triple H proceeds to BASH CHRISTIANS SKULL OFF THE EXPOSED TURNBUCKLE!!! With sickening speed and aggression, Triple H bounces the head off the steel, tearing the champions apart, and scrambling his brain with each shot to the exposed turnbuckle. After over a dozen sick skull on steel shots, Triple H relents, with Christian falling backward, staggering out, then stumbles, with the ropes stopping him from going down, but it only serves as another invitation for The Game … WHO CLOTHESLINES CHRISTIAN OVER THE TOP ROPE … TO THE FLOOR BELOW!!!

On the outside, we get another close up of Christian, whose face now resembles something similar to Shawn Michaels in the first ever Hell in a Cell in 1997, after what started out as a minor cut when he dove into the cell. We then get a close up of the bloodied hands of Triple H, whose white tape is now a blood stained red, showing the amount of pulverising he’s done since Christian began to bleed. Unsurprisingly, he follows out, looking to continue to damage, showing no signs of looking to end this beating any time soon. He drops down, and hauls the dead weight body of the champion to his feet, before hoisting Christian onto his shoulders … THEN LAWNDARTS HIM INTO THE CELL!!!

“FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP THE DAMN MATCH!!” Is the cries of a concerned Jim Ross, as we see Christian slump to his knees again, looking a shell of the man that walked into this structure just fifteen minutes or so ago. As nonchalantly as you like, Triple H lands with another simple straight right hand to the skull, sending the champion over again. The Game reaches under the ring, and pulls out a steel chair, throwing it inside the ring, before heaving Christian up, and rolling him back inside, closely following after him, and making a beeline for the steel chair, surely with more evil intentions on the agenda.

Once in the ring, Triple H stalks the champion, and even has a bit of fun at his expense, kicking his arms away from him as he pushes himself up, earning more venom from the fans, as the challenger affords himself a smile for his piss taking on the battered champion. He backs up, and simply watches as Christian pushes up, crawling towards the only free corner in the ring. Triple H has the chair at the ready, as he watches Christian slowly struggle to haul himself up in the corner, literally dripping blood at this point. There is a spooky hush inside the Bell Centre, with the fans forced into silence, watching as Triple H stands tall, chair in hand, across the ring from the champion, prepared to perhaps finish the job once and for all. Captain Charisma miraculously makes it to his feet in the corner, but looks ready to be put away at this point, and it appears that The Game is willing to oblige, as he runs across the ring, chair in hand … CHRISTIAN MOVES … TRIPLE H HIT’S THE CORNER … AND THE CHAMPION SWINGS BACK ON THE ROPES WITH HIS SEESAW SLINGSHOT KICK … AND THE CHAIR THUNDERS INTO THE FACE OF THE GAME!!!

TRIPLE H HAS BEEN BUSTED OPEN!!!

In an instant, the Bell Centre has come UNGLUED!!! Triple H drops the chair, and staggers around the ring, falling to a knee, stumbling up, and collapsing down again, then up, before falling into the ropes. Meanwhile, Christian has picked up the steel chair, and leans back against the opposite ropes, breathing heavily, as Triple H pulls away from the opposite side, and staggers out … with CHRISTIAN BLASTING OUT … AND SMASHES THE CHAIR INTO THE HEAD OF THE CHALLENGER … doing so with so much aggression that he falls over in the process!!! The Canadian fans are on their feet, but both men are down, with Christian having just expended his final burst of energy on the monstrous chair shot to the cranium of The Game. After a moment of uncertainty, Charles Robinson begins to count both men out, with neither moving on the mat.

… 1 … 2 … 3 … Neither man moves on the canvas … 4 … 5 … Slowly, to the delight of the fans, Christian pokes his head up, looking for The Game, and begins to move toward his lifeless adversary … 6 … 7 … The champion throws an arm over his challenger for a cover …

…SHOULDER UP…
!!!

There’s a sense of inevitability over the kick out from the reaction of the fans, hopeful, but not convinced the match was done. There is hope though, that this could well be the turning point in the contest, with Christian beginning to move, grabbing the steel chair that has come to his rescue, and uses it to push himself to his feet, but still looks unsteady as he looks out to the fans, who give him a massive cheer as he reaches a vertical base. He simply nods, before turning his attention back to Triple H … AND GOES BERSERK … HAMMERING THE CHALLENGER … REPEATEDLY … WITH THE CHAIR!!! As the shots build up, the fans grow even more excited, and slowly a count develops with each passing shot to the back, or side, or leg … FOUR … FIVE … SIX … SEVEN … EIGHT … NINE … TEN … ELEVEN … TWELVE … THIRTEEN … FOURTEEN … FIFTEEN!!!

And with number fifteen delivered, Christian chucks the bent up chair out of the ring, crashing it against the cell. No doubt about it, the bloodied champion has just found his second win, and looks like he’s moving into fifth gear, with The Game now on the wane. Triple H writhes on the mat, selling the multiple chair shots, whilst Christian rolls under the bottom rope, throwing the apron up, and looking for something … AND PULLS OUT A LADDER FROM UNDER THE RING!!! Everything the man does is getting the roar of approval from the fans, and the sight of a ladder sends the wild Canadians into a frenzy. The champion slides the fifteen foot ladder into the ring, and wastes no time setting up, taking a look at The Game as the challenger stays down. Christian now begins to scale the ladder, slowly down momentarily, perhaps feeling the adrenaline running off, but manages to reach the top of the ladder. But there’s just one problem - Triple H has made to it to his feet at this point.

Despite being worse for wear, and bleeding like a stuck pig, The Game is working on survival mode, and grabs the ladder, with Christian quickly reaching up, and grabbing the chain link roof to stop himself from falling … AS TRIPLE H PULLS THE LADDER AWAY!!! There are gasps of horror now inside the Bell Centre, with CHRISTIAN DANGLING FROM THE ROOF OF THE CELL!!! The champion hangs from the roof, his legs wildly swinging, as the challenger slowly gets the ladder as he wants it … AND PRODS IT AT CHRISTIAN!!! Christian continues to swing wildly, as Triple H prods the ladder at him again, with more force than the first attempt, with Captain Charisma becoming a human Piñata!!! For a third time, The Game shoves the top of the ladder at the body of Christian … and on the fourth attempt … CHRISTIAN FALLS … AND LANDS HORRIBLY ON THE CANVAS WITH A SICK BUMP!!! The inevitable ‘HOLY SHIT’ chant begins to develop after the crash landing, but somehow, Christian rolls around the mat, luckily still alive, as Triple H drops the ladder down, and hooks the leg of the champion, hoping he’ll stay down…

……CHRISTIAN KICKS OUT……
!!!!!

Miraculously, Christian is able to kick out, but for how much longer can he survive this sadistic match. If Triple H has anything to do about it though, it wont be much longer. The Game stands up, then drags Christian up, shoving him between his legs, and hooking the left arm, then the right, SETTING UP THE PEDIGREE … pauses … BUT SHOULDN’T HAVE!!! Christian, out of desperation, surprises The Cerebral Assassin, and hoists out of it, with The Game on his shoulders … CHRISTIAN THROWS HIM OFF … GUTBUSTER CONNECTS!!! The fans pop for the scintillating counter, as Christian drops down, with a lateral press …

……SHOULDER UP……
!!!

Somehow, Christian continues to move, crawling off The Game, and back towards the ladder, grabbing the metal device, and pushing himself to his feet, but looks very unsteady. He pulls the ladder up, and sets it to climb, and does so VERY slowly, and taking sooooo long, he gives Triple H another opportunity to recuperate, with The Game crawling toward the ladder too. Christian makes it halfway, as Triple H pulls himself up on the opposite side, and by the time Christian makes it to the three quarter point, Triple H is up … AND IMMEDIATELY … HE TIPS THE LADDER … SENDING CHRISTIAN OFF … AND INTO THE CELL!!! It’s ANOTHER sick bump for the World Champion, with this devastating Hell in a Cell surely taking YEARS off his career.

Captain Charisma lays motionless, face down, on the outside, whilst Triple H leans on the ropes, looking down on his enemy, whilst the ladder rests ominously on the ropes after being tipped over. After taking a moment to gather himself, the equally bloody challenger drops outside the ring to grab the barely recognisable champion, rolling his dead weight body back inside the ring for more ugly punishment. Spaghetti legged, Triple H struggles to get the ladder, but manages to set the instrument onto the mat, before grabbing Christian, and pulls him to the ladder, standing him up, and for the second time … PUTS HIM INTO POSITION FOR A PEDIGREE … ON THE LADDER … BUT CHRISTIAN BACK DROPS OUT OF IT!!! A huge cheer erupts around the arena, as Christian avoids a potentially fatal Pedigree, but still falls down himself, looking absolutely exhausted.

Christian doesn’t stay down for long though, and pushes himself to his feet, finding another burst of energy, and watches as Triple H struggles to get up, before running off the ropes, charging at Triple H … BUT THE GAME COUNTERS … AND DELIVERS A SPINEBUSTER … ON THE DAMN LADDER!!!!!!!!!! It HAS to be over, as Triple H drags Christian off the ladder, and makes the cover…

……KICK OUT……
!!!!!

“HOW IN THE HELL IS HE ABLE TO DO THIS??!!” Is the immediate response from Jim Ross, as Christian barely kicks out of the cover, keeping his title reign alive, but right now, it’s in the balance for as to how long he’ll be champion for. Needless to say, Triple H cannot believe it. The Game shakes his head, with blood flying from his face, as he comes to terms with another epic kick out from the champion. It appears now that Triple H has realised what’s needed to finish this contest - what’s needed to finish off the courageous champion - once and for all. He rolls out of the ring, and drops to a knee, looking under the apron … and emerges, surprise, surprise … WITH A SLEDGEHAMMER IN HIS HAND!!! The fans do not like it, and shower the Cerebral Assassin with huge heat, as he gets back into the ring, with his sights firmly set on the champion who still hasn’t moved from the spot he was in a moment ago from the last ditch kick out.

The Game has the sledgehammer at the ready, and starts to bark at his battered opponent, willing Christian to get to his feet for the final parting shot. Somehow, the champion rolls over, and attempts to push himself back to his feet but struggles. Christian manages to get to his knees, with Triple H lining him up, patiently waiting for Captain Charisma to get up … and as he does, TRIPLE H COMES WITH THE HAMMER … BUT CHRISTIAN DODGES IT … and in a sudden movement, hooks The Game from behind … REVERSE DDT CONNECTING!!! Christian simply has no strength to cover, and lands an arm over for the cover…

……TRIPLE H KICKS OUT……
!!!!!!!

Christians blood soaked face winces in disappointment, with the match continuing, but him having so little left in the tank to offer. He pushes himself back to his feet, and looks to draw another big boost of adrenaline from his empty tank, with the fans in Montreal willing on their Canadian hero, with a rousing wave of support. With that, Christian throws his head back, taking a massive breath, then moves back to Triple H, pulling The Game back up to his feet, but as cerebral as ever, Triple H snuffs out any idea Christian had … PLANTING A LOW BLOW!!! The Canadian fans suddenly deflate, as the champion instantly drops to his knees, wincing again, but this time in disappointment. Instantly, Triple H makes the most of the opportunity, and after two failed attempts, he doesn’t waste a third chance … and hooks the champion into position … PEDIGREE … CONNECTS!!!!! Triple H turns him over, and hooks the leg…

……LAST DITCH SHOULDER UP……
!!!!!!

A huge pop reverberates around the Bell Centre - CHRISTIAN KICKED OUT OF THE PEDIGREE!!! On commentary, both men are nearly speechless, with J.R suddenly proclaiming “YOU CANNOT MEASURE HOW MUCH HEART THAT MAN HAS!!! YOU CANNOT MEASURE JUST HOW BADLY HE WANTS TO REMAIN THE CHAMPION!!!”. In the ring, Triple H is on his knees, fingers running through his hair, with a look of pure shock etched on his face. Total disbelief that the decimated World Heavyweight Champion KICKED OUT of the Pedigree!!! As he rises to his feet, Triple H shakes his head, and looks down at the motionless Christian, trying to figure out HOW this match isn’t over. The Game starts to seethe as the realisation sets in, and looks to punish Christian for kicking out, pulling him up, and hooking him into position AGAIN … BUT THIS TIME CHRISTIAN LOW BLOWS TRIPLE H!!!!!

In stark contrast to the Triple H low blow, Christians earns a raucous cheer from the fans, with Triple H overselling the shot, dropping to his side, clutching his nuts and rolling around the mat, giving Christian time to get up, which the champion does. Both men reach their feet, BOTH barely able to move freely, with The Game selling the effects of the low blow, and Captain Charisma purely running on adrenaline at this point. Christian grabs the ladder, somehow pulling it up, and as Triple H turns from the ropes … CHRISTIAN LAUNCHES THE LADDER AT HIM!!! The ladder shot knocks Triple H for six, sprawling onto the upright steps, with Christian moving in for the kill … AND HOOKS HIM UP FOR THE UNPRETTIER … BUT TRIPLE H RUNS HIM INTO THE EXPOSED TURNBUCKLE!!!

Suddenly, the pace has quickened with both men now somehow finding an extra gear, both running on pure adrenaline. Triple H turns Christian around, and AGAIN attempts a Pedigree, but Christian slips out, turns The Game over … AND DROPS HIM WITH THE UNPRETTIER!!! It’s surely over - Triple H surely cant kick out … if Christian could make the cover. Christian though IS ALSO IMMOBILE!!! Both men are down, with Triple H there for the taking, but Christian has yet to move to make the cover. Both men are down, and the longer it takes Christian to get the cover, the better the chances are of the challenger surviving. The Bell Centre is absolutely electric, willing the champion on, with Christian finally showing some signs of life … but rolls in the wrong direction … AWAY from Triple H. He pokes his head to the side, and realises where Triple H is, giving him the opportunity to begin the longest crawl of his life, an agonizing few inches that seem like miles for the champ. Christian pushes through, and raises his arm … DROPPING IT ACROSS THE CHEST OF TRIPLE H…

………SHOULDER JUST RISES………
!!!!!

It’s agony for Christian - and agony for Montreal - THE MATCH STILL ISNT OVER!!! Christian rests his head on the mat, yelling out, letting his frustration out in the worst way, before moving toward the ropes, looking to reach his feet, whilst Triple H now making a move to the opposite ropes too. As he crawls toward the ropes, The Game spots ‘old faithful’ - THE SLEDGEHAMMER, and his eyes literally light up. He grabs the weapon, and pushes himself to his feet leaning on the hammer to do so. Christian, on the other side of the ring is on his feet, but doesn’t realise what’s in his opponents hand, and comes across to meet him, and as he does … TRIPLE H TAKES A WILD SWING WITH THE HAMMER … BUT MISSES!!! The fatigue has played a part, with The Game making an awful attempt at a sledgehammer shot, which allows Christian to kick it out of his hands, then throws a right … as does Triple H … AND BOTH MEN GO DOWN!!!

Both champion and challenger are spent, both being floored by a weak right hand, but both recover quickly, and almost immediately begin to move to get up to their feet. We see Triple H make it to his knees, then reaches out, and looks around, in search of the sledgehammer … but he cant find it. Frantically, he looks around, trying to get his hands on the deadly weapon … and suddenly … it clicks. With the fans going nuts, Triple H stops, and closes his eyes, coming to the realisation of where the hammer is … and the camera reveals CHRISTIAN STANDING BESIDE THE GAME … SLEDGEHAMMER IN HAND. The Game closes his eyes again, practically conceding what’s to come … as Christian leans back, and yells “GAME OVER” … THEN BLASTS THE SLEDGEHAMMER INTO THE SKULL OF TRIPLE H!!!! There is utter pandemonium inside the rocking Bell Centre, as Triple H lays on the mat - OUT COLD. Christian stands over him for a second, before chucking the sledgehammer away, and drops to his knees, hooking the leg…

WINNER: AND STILL WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION - CHRISTIAN @ 27:52

He’s done it!!! Christian retains the title, with the Bell Centre ready to damn near EXPLODE!!! The champion rolls off The Game, and now lies motionless, as the cell is quickly lifted and the official calls for medics immediately, with both men laying on the mat, neither moving.

Immediately, the trainers focus on Triple H, instantly motioning for a stretcher, with The Game seemingly in a bad way. At this point, even the music has cut, and the arena has fallen rather silent.

A couple of officials tend to Christian, who appears to be suffering from the adrenaline wearing off, as he seems to be unable to get to his feet either, stumbling to the mat as he tried to reach his feet.

Triple H is now loaded onto a stretcher, with Christian being helped out of the ring, with officials either side of the champion, who gets a standing ovation from the fans, as he leaves the ring, a bloody mess, with the title over his shoulder.

Triple H is hurriedly wheeled out of view, whilst Christian still slowly makes his way up the aisle, unable to stand on his own, but as he reaches the top of the stage, the champion turns around … to a standing ovation.

Bloodied and battered, Christian pounds his chest, and points to his ‘Peeps’ raising the title proudly, to a rousing reception, before placing the belt back over his shoulder, and turns, almost falling down, but is stopped by the two officials, who help him stay on his feet, and help the champion behind the curtain.

Backstage now, we see an inconsolable Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley rushing by the side of the stretcher Triple H is on, with The Game being hooked up to an oxygen mask, as the medics push through the doors, and past onlookers, to the outside of the arena, where an ambulance is waiting.

The Game is loaded onto the ambulance, as Shane McMahon shows up, trying to comfort his sister.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: I have to go with him Shane. Oh my God.

Hysterical, Stephanie is barely able to get her words out, as Shane nods.

Shane McMahon: Absolutely Steph. Look, Dad and I have got this in the bag tonight anyway, don’t worry about us.

Stephanie pulls away, with a confused look on her face.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: Shane, my husband is lying on a gurney, having to use a mask to breathe. You and Dad - who obviously has more important things on his mind right now than the well being of his family - are the least of my worries right now.

Stephanie turns, and gets onto the ambulance, slamming the doors behind her, as Shane watches on, looking rather guilty at his lack of thought.

Back to the arena…

We get close ups of the blood stained mat, as workers try to clean the mat up to some extent, with J.R and Coach sombrely speaking.

Jim Ross: The carnage we have just witnessed Coach, is undoubtedly, the most sadistic I have ever witnessed in my thirty plus years in this business. And I have called some bloodbaths in my time … but this, this was something else.

The Coach: Hell in the cell has claimed two more victims.

Jim Ross: Indeed it has. Tonight, the Hell in the Cell has validated it’s reputation as the most vile match in all of sports entertainment. The violence reached a completely different level here tonight, and as a result, Triple H is being rushed to a local medical facility as we speak, and the World Heavyweight Champion is following closely behind.

The Coach: Somehow, someway, Christian left this place on his feet, albeit, with the help of a couple of trainers. But J.R, the real worry here, is that Christian made good on his promise … and ended The Game.

Jim Ross: That very thought has crossed my mind already Coach. After that sinister sledgehammer shot to the skull … one has to wonder if any man can ever recover from that. And even still, you have to wonder if Christian can ever recover from what he went through this evening. The blood loss he suffered was absolutely sickening, stomach churning, and you’ve gotta believe he will need some kind of transfusion this evening.

The Coach: Without a doubt. One thing is for sure, J.R, I don’t think we’ll see either man in Vancouver tomorrow night for Raw.

Jim Ross: Coach, after that match, it’s conceivable that we may never see either man grace Monday Night Raw ever again.

The two men remain silent on commentary for a moment, as the silence grows awkward, with the fans seemingly getting restless, before we cut backstage.

And, Kelly Kelly is standing by with Alexis Laree.

Kelly Kelly: Hi guys, I’m Kelly Kelly, joined by the Womens Champion, Alexis Laree, moments away from the womens championship match. Alexis, in a few moments, you’ll defend your championship against Victoria, but ever since last Monday when Melina claimed to have ‘dirt’ on you, it seems your mind has been elsewhere.

Laree nods, and thinks for a moment, biting her lip, before speaking.

Alexis Laree: I … I have to admit, Melina threw me off last Monday, but Kelly, I cant allow Melina to get in my head. Not when I’ve got Victoria to deal with … and not when I’ve got to defend my most prized possession. S-

Kelly butts in, to ask another question. Bit rude tbh.

Kelly Kelly: So, can you shed any light on the comments Melina made last Monday?? What could she possibly have-

Alexis quickly stops her. The champion puts on a smile, and pulls the mic towards herself.

Alexis Laree: Kelly, it doesn’t matter. I cant afford to let that get into my head, because the only thing that matters to me … the only thing I want to think about, is defending my title.

Laree smiles again, almost nervously, as Kelly slowly takes the mic back.

Kelly Kelly: But, can you let us know, just who Beth is??

The smile fades from Larees face, and is replaced by a look of fury, with her eyes going to a far off place. Almost scarily.

Alexis Laree: I said I didn’t want to talk about that.

Alexis snarls at Kelly, and backs off, leaving the set.

And we then cut to a shot of MISTER MCMAHON for the first time tonight, as he sits in the private quarters of the McMahon Family Empire, on a call.

Mr. McMahon: I want an update as soon as you get one, okay?? Once he arrives, you give him the best treatment money can buy, you hear me?? The best!!

Vince mumbles, as he hangs up the cell phone, then looks up, with Shane standing by him.

Shane McMahon: Stephanie’s gone. Dad, you should’ve seen her, I’ve never seen her so hysterical. He’s in a bad way.

Vince sighs. He looks down, shaking his head. He then looks up at Shane, wagging his finger, with a vengeful look in his eyes.

Mr. McMahon: Christian is gonna pay for this. Mark my words, he will not get away with what he’s done. As a matter of fact, I have a good mind to make him defend that title tomorrow night on Raw against Kurt. And, y’know what … I’ll have the power to do it.

Vince snarls, and looks away, shaking his head. Then, the door opens, and we see KURT ANGLE enter the room.

Kurt Angle: What’s going on??

Vince looks away, whilst Shane shakes his head in disgust at Angle.

Shane McMahon: Did you not see what just happened??

Shane quizzically looks at Kurt, with Angle looking unemotional.

Kurt Angle: Of course I did. But what I’m asking, is why do you two look so concerned?? Triple H got what he wanted. He got Christian, he got him inside Hell in a Cell, just like he wanted … he didn’t give a rats ass about you Vince, he didn’t jump in to defend you tonight.

Vince looks up at Kurt, but Kurt remains unmoved.

Kurt Angle: I did.

Kurt gets more animated, making sure Vince makes eye contact.

Kurt Angle: So Vince, it’s time to focus on what’s important here, and it sure as hell isn’t Triple freakin H.

Shane shakes his head.

Kurt Angle: It’s about getting the power of this company back into the hands it belongs in … yours.

Vince ponders for a moment.

Kurt Angle: You don’t need Stephanie to make that happen … you don’t need Triple H. You’ve got the only guy you need … me.

Vince stands up, looking Angle in the eye … and begins to smile.

Mr. McMahon: Y’know what?? You’re right.

Vince nods, as we fade out, with Angle smiling, and Shane rather confused.

And back into the arena again, with Lillian Garcia standing by…

Lillian Garcia: Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my pleasure to introduce the special guest ring announcer for the upcoming match, Raws newest diva, and MONTREALS OWN … MARYSE!!!

Cheap pop, but only a small one, and it’s because she’s a home town diva … and she’s pretty hot. Maryse smiles as she takes the mic.

Maryse: *SPEAKS FRENCH*

Cheap pop. Maryse smiles, before speaking in English.

Maryse: Ladies and Gentlemen, the following contest is set for one fall, and, it is for, the WWE WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Please, allow me to introduce the challenger-

**I AINT THE LADY TO MESS WITH**

The women get the dead spot, buffering the two main events. Victoria enters to a muted reaction, and wastes no time walking down the aisle, with the chance to reclaim the Womens title in her sight, as Maryse conducts the intro.

Jim Ross: The most experienced diva on the roster, Victoria has had somewhat of a barren run in recent times, but tonight, she has the chance to once again rise to the top of the female ladder.

The Coach: Huge test for Laree. Victoria is focused on one thing in this match, and that’s leaving Backlash with the womens title. Given the recent events surrounding Laree, she needs to get her head in the game, or we’ll have a new champ.

Victoria hops into the ring, over the ropes, and makes a beeline for Maryse, ripping the mic from the blonde bombshell.

Victoria: Hello. My, my … aren’t you pretty?? Look at you, with your long, gorgeous blonde hair … stunning good looks … I bet all the boys love you, huh??

Victoria smiles, and plays with Maryse’s hair, with the blonde looking rather uncomfortable.

Victoria: I mean, these fans seem to have taken to you already.

Cheap pop. Victorias smile fades though…

Victoria: But you have no place in a ring with me, little girl. And I’m going to see to it, that you don’t spend a minute longer in here.

AND VICTORIA ATTACKS!!! The #1 Contender attacks the newcomer, with a boot to the gut, then hammers her to the ground, before stamping her head, and stands on the long blonde hair, before pulling Maryse up by the hair, causing her tremendous pain…

**SO FINE**

To a fairly big pop, Alexis Laree enters, and runs to the ring, coming to the aide of Maryse in the ring.

Jim Ross: ALEXIS LAREE HAS SEEN ENOUGH!!!

The Coach: Oh boy, she doesn’t look like she’s here to play either!!!

Victoria spots Alexis coming, and shoves Maryse out of the ring, getting set for the champion, who looks rather unstable herself right now!!

Womens Championship Match:
Alexis Laree vs. Victoria

Alexis slides into the ring, and the two slug it out from the get go, with the bell ringing the signify the start of the match. Laree surprisingly gets the upper hand in this exchange, out punching the bigger diva, forcing Victoria to back into the corner, retreating from the tenacious champion. Laree tees off on the challenger, with Vicky covering up, and forces Jack Doan to step in, pulling Laree away, with the champion showing a wild look in her eyes as the referee pulls her from the corner. He lectures Laree, but she ignores his words, and comes back for more, pulling Victoria out of the corner, and goes for a whip off the ropes, but the challenger reverses, sending Alexis off the ropes, but Laree bounces off, crashing into Victoria with a flying shoulder!!!

The fans pop initially, but Alexis gets carried away again, and begins to stick her knee onto the neck of Victoria, choking the challenger on the ropes, with Jack Doan being kept busy, having to pull the champion away, as Laree aggressively pulls away, showing a totally different side to herself tonight, before mounting the buckles in the corner where Victoria has pulled herself up, and hammers away at the challenger, with the fans eventually counting along with each shot … UNTIL VICTORIA PUSHES HER OFF … AND DROPS ALEXIS … FACE FIRST ON THE TOP TURNBUCKLE!!! Laree is staggered by the reversal, and is easily caught with a dropkick by the challenger, who quickly hooks the leg, 1...2...KICK OUT!!!

Immediately though, Victoria regains the advantage on the champion, and clubs the back of Alexis, then goes for a whip, but Laree counters, and hit’s a perfect hip toss, floating into an arm lock on Victoria. Victoria tries to elbow free, but Laree holds on, keeping the submission locked on as Victoria pushes to her feet, before the challenger throws her off, into the ropes, but Alexis attempts a clothesline upon her return, only for Victoria to duck under, and as soon as the champion turns around, Victoria delivers a flapjack … holding onto the leg … AND APPLIES A SINGLE LEG CRAB!!! The challenger cranks back, applying severe pressure to the back of the champion, with Laree wincing, moaning, as she tries to reach forward to the ropes, but Victoria cranks back, stopping Laree sending further pain through her body, a brave distance from the ropes at this stage.

Alexis is in excruciating pain as Victoria puts her weight onto the problem area of the champion, in order to end her barren run without the title, hoping to earn a submission. Alexis though, refuses to quit, and is desperately scratching and clawing to the ropes, inching nearer, and nearer, but Vicky senses Alexis nearing the ropes, and manages to drag the champion back out, to the centre of the ring, keeping the submission tightly applied.
The camera closes in on Laree, who looks to be on the verge of tears, almost with a look of defeat on her face, not even making an attempt to reach the ropes at this point, perhaps accepting defeat before tapping. However, in one last gasp, Alexis pushes herself up, and tries to get to the ropes on her palms … REACHING OUT … AND GRIPS THE BOTTOM ROPE TIGHTLY, FORCING THE SUBMISSION TO BE RELEASED!!!

Despite Alexis making it to the ropes, Victoria is still in charge, and drags Laree up, quickly backing the champion against the ropes, sending her off the ropes, and catching her on the return, holding Laree for a second, almost to show her dominance, then delivers a backbreaker, rolling her over, and making a tight cover, 1...2...Kick out. Victoria gets to her feet quickly, and stomps Alexis, making sure she stays down, before setting herself, and motioning to the fans to ‘Watch This’ … then LOOKS FOR A STANDING MOONSAULT … BUT ALEXIS AVOIDS IT!!! Despite the impressive sight of a standing moonsault, Victoria doesn’t reap the benefits, missing the move.

The champion staggers up to her feet, taking a moment to regain her composure, and sells her back injuries momentarily, before setting her sights on the challenger again, watching Victoria pull herself up in the corner. Laree then picks up some speed, and jumps at Victoria in the corner … delivering a crisp Monkey Flip, sending Victoria out of the corner, onto the canvas. The fans show their appreciation with a nice pop, but it’s all still pretty dead, with the fans trying to recover from the epic Hell in a Cell match moments ago. Alexis crouches down, waiting patiently, willing the challenger up, and as Vicky reaches her feet, Laree connects with a well executed dropkick, following in with a cover, 1...2...Kick Out.

Alexis doesn’t lose heart with the kick out, and indeed, looks even more feisty at this stage, baring her teeth, and once more, willing the challenger to get to her feet. Victoria is slow to move, but gets up, only to walk right into a kick to the gut from Alexis, and Alexis leaps up, looking to DELIVER THE LAREE-DT … BUT VICTORIA COUNTERS … DROPPING THE CHAMPION ON THE ROPES!!! Alexis lets go of her grip, and hangs onto the ropes at the apron, as Victoria takes the opportunity, and delivers a dropkick, sending the champion off the apron, and onto the floor below!!! The challenger drops down, rolling out of the ring, picking the champion up immediately, and grabbing Alexis by the face, asking her “Do you like this, pretty girl??”, before ramming Larees face off the steps. Jack Doan steps in, telling Victoria to get back inside, with Vicky giving the official a long hard stare, before yielding, and rolling the champion back inside.

Laree pulls herself up on the ropes inside, with Victoria on top of her, grabbing the champions hair, and HURLING ALEXIS ACROSS THE RING BY THE HAIR!!! Laree slams hard against the canvas, and rolls around, holding her head, feeling the pain, whilst Victoria confidently strides around the ring, waiting for the champion to get back up. The challenger gets tired of waiting, and pulls Laree up by the hair again, bad mouthing her, then hoists Alexis up in the corner, and drives her shoulder into the sternum, and again, and again, and once more, piling more pain on the champion. Victoria watches with a smile, as Laree blows hard, trying to catch her breath, then whips Alexis to the opposite corner, but the champion stops herself from hitting, then comes back out, with a reverse elbow to Victoria, shaking the challenger. Spotting a chance to get the upper hand, Laree tries to capitalise quickly, and picks up Victoria, looking to keep on the offence, but Victoria recovers too quickly, and puts the champion down again with a clothesline.

Victoria takes a moment to shake the cobwebs loose, whilst Laree slowly makes her way to the corner, crawling to it, and dragging herself to her feet, with the challenger gathering speed, chasing in at Laree, looking to strike again … BUT ALEXIS LEAPS UP IN THE CORNER, WITH VICTORIA HITTING THE BUCKLES … the challengers staggers back out, and Laree fires out, WITH A CLOTHESLINE OFF THE TOP ROPE!!! Some fans come alive for the big clothesline, and Laree makes a cover, 1...2...NO!!! The match continues, but Laree looks set on finishing the contest once and for all, setting the dazed challenger up for her version of the Chick Kick … crouching, waiting for Victoria to reach her feet … and Vicky turns around … CHICK KICK … VICTORIA DUCKS!!! Laree spins around after missing, and is caught with a kick to the gut from Victoria, who gets Laree up … AND LOOKS FOR THE WIDOWS PEAK … BUT LAREE DROPS OUT … VICTORIA TURNS AROUND … CHICK KICK!!! Laree drops down, and makes the cover…

WINNER: AND STILL WOMENS CHAMPION - ALEXIS LAREE @ 06:02

Laree retains, holding off the challenge of Victoria!!! Despite a fairly lacklustre, and exhausted audience, the two put together a decent effort, and indeed, Alexis gets a nice ovation from the fans, as she is presented the title by Maryse, who holds the champions hand up, as Victoria rolls out, looking back at the champion in the ring, with both Laree and Maryse taunting Victoria, who shakes her head as she backs up the ramp, holding her face, showing the pain after the kick.

Jim Ross: Tonight, Alexis Laree put her recent troubles behind herself, and focused on what was important - retaining that womens championship.

The Coach: Okay, I’ll give her that. But her problems are only just getting started J.R. Melina is ready to spill the beans, and I cant wait to see the truth come out about this vindictive, so-called whiter than white womens champion.

Cut to March 26 on draft night.

Mr. McMahon: That announcement from my wife last December has been driving me crazy. It’s quite literally tied my hands, and left me … powerless. And I’m not used to it … I don’t like it.

Shots of Vince being humiliated - having his head shaved by Cena and Christian, his great plan coming apart at the seams at WrestleMania, topped off by Eric Bischoff giving Vince the bird.

Mr. McMahon: I’m now supposed to take orders from MY employees?? I’m supposed to take orders … FROM HIM?? I didn’t build this conglomerate from the ground up to listen to weasels like Eric Bischoff. I didn’t run all my competitors, all the territories out of business, just to answer to Bischoff … I DON’T WANT TO ANSWER TO ANYBODY!!!

Shots of Vince McMahon through the years, and the ever changing face of the WWWF / WWF / WWE.

Mr. McMahon: I’VE HAD ENOUGH!!! As of this very moment … I am announcing my intention of taking World Wrestling Entertainment … OFF THE STOCK MARKET!!!

Linda McMahon: In fact, you’ve forgotten the one person you should’ve been most fearful of … you’ve forgotten the one member of this family who has the fans interests at heart. And most importantly, you’ve overlooked one incredibly important detail … I’m your wife. And this ring means … what’s yours … is mine.

The famous Vince McMahon gulp.

Linda McMahon: I’m proposing this circus ends … at Backlash. You want all the power?? This is your chance. One match. If you win, then I’ll step aside. I’ll sign whatever papers I need to, and you can write me off all ownership of the WWE. It’ll be all yours.

Mr. McMahon: You see, John Cena … he crossed the boss. It was thanks to Cena and Christian that my power around here was taken from me. Close up of Vince, with a dark, seething scowl on his face.

John Cena: If I gotta fight off an army … I’LL DO IT!!! … If I gotta take on every single member of the McMahon Family, alive or dead … I’LL DO IT!!! And hell, I promise each and every person watchin … if Kurt Angle snaps my ankle in half … I’ll keep going … if Kurt Angle slams me right through the mat … I’ll pull myself to my feet again … if Vince McMahon hires the entire workforce of Montreal to beat me down … I’LL FIGHT ’EM ALL!!!

And into the arena…

**NO CHANCE IN HELL**

For perhaps the final time, we see Mister McMahon power walk onto the stage, to a chorus of boos from the Canadian fans.

Jim Ross: He is responsible for the incredible rise in stature of not only the WWE, but the wrestling industry and sports entertainment, as a global brand, but tonight, Mister McMahon could well be removed from television … forever. The stakes couldn’t be higher tonight, it’s all or nothing, and the ramifications couldn’t be bigger.

The Coach: How big a travesty would it be, if this man, the man that your cheques, my cheques … CENAS CHEQUES, was to be banished from WWE television forever?? He created WrestleMania, he brought sports entertainment to the masses … he’s beaten the government, yet tonight, he could be forced to hide away from our screens forever. Unreal.

The chairman reaches the ring, with McMahon insisting that Scott Armstrong holds the ropes open for him, as he enters the ring to more heat, with Vince stretching out his arms, looking for more heat.

Jim Ross: And of course Coach, on the other hand, should Kurt Angle win this match for Mister McMahon, the ramifications of that, are simply unthinkable.

The Coach: Unthinkable?? You surely mean terrific, right?? Mister McMahon having total control over everything that happens in the WWE is what we need, we need more nights like McMahon Appreciation Night!!!

Jim Ross: We sure as hell don’t. The WWE needs to be for the fans, for the people watching at home, all around the world. If Mister McMahon gets his way, the WWE will become his own personal North Korea. It’ll be McMahon propaganda. We don’t need the WWE to be run by a modern day Stalin on a power trip. And believe me, if Kurt Angle wins this match, we will witness the first nail in the coffin of the WWE. Mark my words.

**MEDAL**

Kurt Angle, to a massive blast of heat, steps onto the stage, and jumps up and down, mentally preparing, before slapping his face, hard, then shoots his hands in the air, letting off his pyro.

Jim Ross: And here is the man that could deliver that nightmare. Why Kurt Angle believes Mister McMahons policies are the way forward is simply beyond me. It’s a huge task for anyone to overcome John Cena, but by Gawd, Kurt Angle could very well be the guy.

The Coach: Damn right!!! Kurt Angle IS the guy!!! Kurt Angle tonight will make history - THAT’S why he stepped up to the plate. Angle wants to lead his boss to the promised land, and baby boy, if a dictatorship in the WWE is so wrong … then I don’t want to be right!!

Jim Ross: Give me a break.

Angle makes it to the ring, and shakes hands with Mr. McMahon, as the duo stand in the ring, awaiting the opposition.

… LONG WAIT OF SILENCE …

**MY TIME IS NOW**

John Cena rushes onto the stage, pumping up the split fans, ignoring the boos, before running to the opposite side of the stage, looking for a reaction there too, as we see Linda McMahon slowly emerge from the entrance too, clapping her representative.

Jim Ross: The future of the WWE for the people rests on this mans shoulders. The only man that can save us from the tyranny of the egomaniacal Mister McMahon is John Cena, and tonight, the hopes and prayers of every single right thinking WWE fans in the world will be resting on his shoulders.

The Coach: John Cena has been involved in some high pressure matches throughout his career. He’s headlined WrestleMania, competed inside Hell in a Cell, faced the biggest stars in this business, but he has NEVER been under this kind of pressure. Can Cena live with the expectations placed upon him?? I don’t know Jimbo.

As Cena and Linda make it to the ring, Cena stops the CEO, and asks her to leave, seemingly telling her it would be in her best interest, leaving him to take care of business without having to worry about her wellbeing too. Linda nods, accepting the pleas of Cena, and wishes him luck, before turning, and leaving up the ramp.

Jim Ross: That’s a big call from Cena, Coach. Perhaps a stroke of genius. Now, he can focus all his energy on Kurt Angle, without worrying about the safety of Linda McMahon on the outside. A big call for Cena.

The Coach: It’s neither here nor there old timer, Cena is done for. Look at the intensity on the face of Kurt Angle!!!

Jim Ross: The energy inside this building is electric. These twenty thousand fans in Montreal know we are about to witness something for the ages here, a match that will live forever, regardless of the outcome, in the annals of time. The most historically significant match up in WWE history, without a shadow of a doubt.

All of a sudden though, as Cena makes his way down the aisle … ANGLE MEETS HIM, AND THE BRAWL IS ON!!!!!

The two men meet on the ramp, swinging wildly at one another, with the fans greeting the melee with a raucous ovation!!! Cena wins the initial brawl, but as Angle backs down the aisle, he catches Cena with a big, overhand right, stunning the representative of Linda McMahon, and with that, Angle takes charge, beating away with big, overhand shots, forcing Cena up the ramp, but Cena stops the Wrestling Machine with a kick to the gut, then slams his head off the steel ramp with sickening velocity!!!

Cena then turns around … AND SHANE MCMAHON RUNS FROM BEHIND THE CURTAIN AT CENA … BUT CENA CATCHES HIM … ONTO HIS SHOULDERS … FU ON THE STEEL RAMP!!!!!

It’s carnage already in this main event … AND THE MATCH HASN’T EVEN STARTED YET!!!!! At ringside, Vince already looks beside himself, whilst a section of the fans try to start a ‘HOLY SHIT’ chant, but that doesn’t catch on.

Cena turns his attention back to Kurt, but as he pulls him up, Angle drives a knee into the gut of his opponent … with Kurt then hurling his opponent off the ramp (but not from a great height) to the technical area. Cena staggers to the technical table, with Angle quickly slamming his head off the wood, throwing another big right hand, as Cena reels away, into the barrier, and then Angle hoists him over, as they stumble into the sea of fans!!!!!

That only goes to get the fans even more worked up, as Angle blasts Cena with consecutive right hands. Meanwhile, Vince is as ringside, desperately trying to see what’s going on, but wont like what he’s seeing, as Cena finally fights back, blocking a shot from Kurt, and throwing one of his own, with the two once again trading blows, fighting through the fans, pushing through, towards the steps, and once they reach the steps, Cena surprises the Olympian with a drop toe hold onto the cold, hard steps!!! Cena now mounts Angle, and hammers at his rival with bludgeoning blows to the back of the head before getting up, and slamming Kurts head onto the concrete steps!!! With the advantage established, Cena drags Kurt up, and pulls him through the sea of the fans, keeping him under control with the odd punch, before trying to really humiliate Angle, taking a beer from a fan, and throwing it in his opponents face!!!

We get a quick glimpse of Shane being led away behind the curtain, after his botched interference, before turning back to the real action, where, Cena, with Angle under control, approaches the ringside barrier, but as he takes the little free path toward the barrier … ANGLE SURPRISES HIM WITH A SIDE SUPLEX ONTO THE CONCRETE FLOOR!!!!! Cena writhes in agony, whilst Kurt tries to recover, pushing back to his feet, and stomps the face of his opponent, much to the delight of Mr. McMahon at ringside. Kurt drags John up, and runs him to the barrier, hurling him over, with Cena crashing onto the mats, and rolling, holding his back.

Angle hops over the barrier, and nods at Vince, with McMahon giving a thumbs up, smiling and nodding. But it seems Kurt has taken too long being happy with himself, because as he goes for Cena again … CENA BURSTS TO LIFE … AND CHARGES AT ANGLE … RAMMING HIM INTO THE STEEL STEPS!!!

The fans come alive with that burst, and Cena hammers at his opponent, dragging him up, and rolling him inside the ring for the first time, but stops short of getting in himself, and trades a few heated words with Vince, before getting inside … but as he gets on the apron … ANGLE KNOCKS HIM BACK OFF!!! Cena hit’s the floor again, with Angle stepping out, waiting for Cena to get back up, then leaps off with an axe handle, knocking Cena down again, with this match STILL not officially underway!!! Angle stomps the head of Cena, keeping him grounded, then flips the mats over, exposing the cold, bare floor, before dragging Cena to his feet, throwing that big overhand right hand, before shoving Cena between him legs … AND LOOKS TO DELIVER A SICKENING PILEDRIVER … BUT CENA BLOCKS IT … THEN DELIVERS A BACK BODY DROP, SENDING ANGLE ONTO THE CONCRETE FLOOR, LANDING ON HIS BACK!!!!!

The Olympian folds up, wincing, and letting out a deep groan, whilst Cena rests on a knee, catching his breath, before getting to his feet, spotting Vince trying to sneak up on him. McMahon stops dead, with Cena pointing to him, letting Vince know he’s watching him, as Vince backtracks, with Cena grabbing Kurt, and rolling him inside, this time following in … AND THE MATCH HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!!!!!

Kurt Angle

Cena hounds Angle into the corner, with Kurt almost begging off, as Cena lets fly, hammering Angle with a succession of right hands, with the fans cheering, before Cena turns away, walking around the ring, getting fired up, looking to the fans, as his veins pop from his neck, but as he turns around to go back to Kurt again … ANGLE RUNS THROUGH HIM WITH A CLOTHESLINE!!! It’s a mixed response for the clothesline, with Kurt now letting off some steam, roaring to the heavens, before dropping down, and applying a front face lock, keeping Cena under control, and tries to take the breath from him, but Cena quickly responds, pushing back up, with Kurt powerless to stop him, as Cena gets to a standing position, and punches the ribs of Kurt, freeing himself, then runs off the ropes … BUT ANGLE CATCHES HIM ON THE RETURN … BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX!!! There is no feeling out process here, as Angle scrambles for an immediate cover…

……CENA KICKS OUT……
!!!

Vince reels away outside, believing for a moment it was over, as Angle is right back up, kicking the head of Cena, before pulling him up, and tumbling his opponent out of the ring through the middle ropes. Angle rolls out to follow, and presses Cena against the barrier, delivering a big forearm shot to the chest and face of Cena, and looks to whip him into the ring apron, but Cena blocks it, then kicks Angle in the gut … THEN HURLS ANGLE TOWARDS THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!!! Kurt hit’s the front of table, as Cena follows, grabbing the top panel of the table, and slamming it onto Kurt, before pushing through the timekeepers and other officials, grabbing a steel chair, and coming back out, closing in on Angle, and as Kurt stumbles to his feet, Cena leans back … BUT VINCE GRABS THE CHAIR!!! McMahon has the chair, but before he can use it, Cena swats it from his hands, then stalks Vince … BUT ANGLE ATTACKS CENA FROM BEHIND!!!

Angle rams Cenas head onto the barrier, then runs him into ring post head first, with Cena staggering away, holding his head, looking worse for wear, but Kurt isn’t letting up, and grabs Cena, quickly delivering a big European uppercut, sending Cena reeling again, around the ring. Kurt then rolls Cena back inside, and follows in himself, delivering a boot to the cranium, before turning his opponent over, making another cover, 1...2...KICK OUT!!! Up right away, Kurt stomps Cena, keeping him grounded, and drops to his knees, pounding the back of his rival, punishing Cena, and after the blistering assault of stiff shots to the back and face, makes another cover, 1...2...KICK OUT!!! Cena is nowhere near giving in, with Kurt acknowledging he needs to do quite a bit more to put his opponent away.

Angle drags Cena up, pushing him into the corner, and attempts to unleash a barrage of punches, BUT CENA BLOCKS … AND EXPLODES WITH PUNCHES OF HIS OWN!!!!! Kurt now goes on the back foot, with Cena coming alive, backing Angle into the corner, softening him up, then sends him across the ring with an Irish whip, and knocks Angle down with a reverse elbow, quickly making a cover, 1...2...NO!!! Cena keeps the pressure on after the kick out, bringing Angle to his feet, running him into the corner again, and driving his shoulder into the gut of the Wrestling Machine. Cena, looking to keep the pace quick, doesn’t rest for a moment, and sends Kurt across the ring, into the opposite corner, following in, but as Kurt hit’s the corner, he puts a foot up, stopping his momentum, and turns … NEARLY TEARING CENAS HEAD OFF WITH A CLOTHESLINE!!!

The Wrestling Machine doesn’t waste a second, and pulls Cena up, backing him into the ropes, launching him off the opposite side, but Cena ducks a clothesline from Angle, and bounces off the opposite ropes … AND BURSTS OUT WITH A FLYING SHOULDER BLOCK … BUT ANGLE AVOIDS IT!!! Cena crashes onto the mat, having hit fresh air, whilst Angle now stalks his opponent, prowling as he watches Cena get to his feet, then shoots in … AND GOES FOR A GERMAN SUPLEX … BUT CENA BLOCKS IT!!! Cena then reverses out, and runs Angle into the corner, before turning him around, and letting fly with rights and lefts to the body. Cena looks to send Angle to the opposite corner with an Irish whip, but Angle reverses, sending Cena in instead, and as Cena bounces out, Angle is on him in a flash … AND GOES BEHIND … GERMAN SUPLEX … WITH A BRIDGE …

…KICK OUT…
!!!!!

Angle vents for a moment, punching the mat, but gets his focus back on the job at hand, dragging Cena up, shoving him into the corner, then unloading with ferocious overhand right hands, consistently, hammering Cena to the canvas, before changing to stomps, stomping the chest and face of his opponent, with the technically gifted Wrestling Machine being replaced by a vicious, hell bent on destruction Kurt Angle!! Angle puts the boots to the body of Cena, with a fire in his eyes, looking as if he’s enjoying the punishment he’s dishing out to Cena at this point. The Olympian drops down, and yanks his opponent out of the corner, to the middle of the ring, and drops down, quickly applying a body scissors, looking to get a sleeper applied too, but Cena fights it off, desperately looking to avoid this predicament, but cant battle to his feet, with Kurt applying enough pressure to keep the body scissors applied.

To keep Cena under pressure, Kurt throws a few aimless forearms to the shoulder, back, and the chest, all the while trying to maintain his position with the body scissors, but Cena is like a slippery fish, shifting around, looking to break free of the vice like grip that Kurt has applied, and does enough to sit up, and from there, Cena is able to shift the momentum, and breaks from the hold, fighting to his feet, and throwing bombs at Angle, rocking the Olympian, and backs Kurt into the ropes, looking for the Irish whip, but instead, Kurt turns it inside out, and pulls Cena in towards him, scoring with a kick to the gut, and with no wasted motion, delivers a snap suplex, rolling into the cover, 1...2...KICK OUT!!! Cena throws his shoulder up, but Kurt pushes it back down, looking for an immediate pin again, 1...2- quicker kick out.

Kurt sits up, looking rather frustrated, taking a look to the outside at Vince, and motions with his arms for the steel chair. McMahon nods, and pushes the staff at the timekeepers table out of the way, including Lillian, grabbing a steel chair, and slides the weapon into the ring, into the path of the Olympian. Scott Armstrong tries to reason with Angle as he picks the chair up, but Kurt threatens him with the chair, forcing the referee to back away for his own safety. Kurt gives Armstrong a deathly stare for a few more seconds, before turning his attention back to Cena, setting the chair shot up … AND SWINGS … BUT CENA DUCKS!!! Cena avoids the chair shot, and runs off the ropes AND THIS TIME DELIVERS WITH A FLYING SHOULDER BLOCK KNOCKING ANGLE OFF HIS FEET!!!!!

The fans pick up in voice, as Cena looks to be hitting his second wind, getting to his feet, and pumping up the fans, before knocking down Angle … and again … and again, letting go with big right hands, dazing the Wrestling Machine, and turning the tide in a big way, with Vince looking suddenly concerned on the outside, watching Cena get on top. Cena wills Angle up each time, knocking him down harder with each blow, but Kurt continues to get right back up each time, somehow finding the will to reach his feet, only to be hammered back down every single time!!! Cena then pushes Kurt into the corner, and sends him across to the opposite side with force and running in behind, with Kurt bouncing back out, as Cena bounds off the ropes, and DELIVERS A RUNNING BULLDOG, going in for a cover on the delivery, 1...2...NO!!! Angle kicks out, and rolls on the mat, with a far away look in his eyes, as Cena prepares himself for his next move, waiting for Kurt to reach his feet, and as soon as Angle gets to his vertical base, Cena is on him, going behind, and spinning him around … BLUE THUNDER BOMB!!! Cena hooks the legs …

…NO…
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He may be worse for wear at this point, but Angle is far from done. That though, isn’t enough to convince Mister McMahon not to interfere, with the chairman of the board leaping onto the apron … but as he does, Cena dives at him, grabbing him by the jacket … AND HURLING HIM OVER THE ROPES … AND INTO THE LIONS DEN!!! The Boss lands on his ass in the ring, with the Canadian fans popping for the attack of Cena on Vince. McMahon pushes himself away from Cena, backing into the corner on his ass, begging off, with Cena closing in, looking to get himself a piece of Vince … BUT KURT ANGLE LOOKS TO SAVE VINCE, COMING FROM BEHIND WITH THE CHAIR … BUT CENA SIDE STEPS HIM … AND THE CHAIR REBOUNDS OFF THE ROPES … INTO ANGLES FACE!!!

Kurt wobbles from the chair shot, as Cena takes him out of the picture momentarily, tossing him from the ring, leaving Cena all alone with Vince, and the former world champion doesn’t look keen on wasting any time, hurling his boss to his feet in the corner … but before he can attack … TYSON TOMKO COMES TO VINCES RESCUE!!! The Problem Solver attacks Cena from behind, with Scott Armstrong powerless to stop the assault, as Vince gets himself out of harms way. Meanwhile, Tomko clubs the back of Cena, and then gets him into position, getting him in the air … AND DELIVERS THE PUMPHANDLE SLAM!!!! With Cena down, Tomko drops out of the ring, and gets Angle, giving him a helpful slap, trying to get rid of the cobwebs, before rolling him back inside the ring. The dazed Wrestling Machine is slow to reach Cena, eventually making his way to him, and throwing an arm over his opponents torso…

……SHOULDER UP……
!!!!!

Cena survives!!! Instantly, Tomko pounds the apron, whilst we see Vince throw the Problem Solver a look that says ‘You know what to do’. Tomko nods, and gets back inside the ring, effortlessly picking Cena back up, whilst Kurt continues to try and clear his head. Tomko throws Cena into the corner … BUT CENA CHARGES BACK OUT WITH A CLOTHESLINE TO TYSON TOMKO!!!!! The Bell Centre erupts, as Cena turns his attention back to his actual opponent, beating Kurt to the punch, THEN WHIPS ANGLE INTO TOMKO … SENDING TOMKO THROUGH THE ROPES TO THE OUTSIDE!!!!! Angle staggers back into the path of Cena, as Cena scores with a kick to the gut, then hooks Angle up, DELIVERING THE RELEASE FISHERMAN SUPLEX!!! Vince puts his hands on his head, as Cena makes the cover…

Cena sits up instantly, looking down ruefully at Angle, who barely survives, whilst on the outside, Vince breathes a huge sigh of relief. Not for too long though, as Cena picks up the steel chair, abandoned by Angle, and looks set to clobber his adversary as he gets up … but has to change his target, as Tomko hops back onto the apron to provide the distraction … AND CENA NAILS TOMKO WITH A SICK STEEL ON SKULL SHOT TO THE HEAD!!!! The crash of steel on skull reverberates around the Bell Centre, as Cena takes a moment to point out Vince, inviting the chairman into the ring, whilst Vince snarls, not enjoying what he’s seeing, and certainly not enjoying Cena belittling him at this stage. Cena realises that Vince isn’t going to accept the offer, and focuses again on Angle, who pulls himself up on the ropes. Then, as Kurt gets to his feet, Cena bounds toward him with the chair, but Angle strikes first, booting Cena in the gut as the chair wielding Cena leant back, then Angle switches behind … AND DELIVERS A GERMAN SUPLEX … HANGING ON TIGHTLY!!!!!

The fans do cheer, as Angle hangs on, dragging Cena up, with the grip still applied around the waist … AND ANGLE FIRES OFF A SECOND GERMAN SUPLEX!!!!! The fans pop … and cheer again … AS ANGLE HOLDS ON ONCE MORE!!! Cena is unable to break the grip, and barely puts up a fight to free himself, as Kurt pulls him to his feet, still with his arms tightly clasped around the waist … AND DELIVERS A THIRD GERMAN SUPLEX TO CENA!!!!!

AND ANGLE STILL HOLDS ON!!!

Despite the fact of Angle being an out and out heel, the fans are keen to show their respect for the Olympian and all his abilities, as Kurt again summons the strength to bring his lifeless opponent to his feet, keeping his iron grip around the waist applied … and once on their feet … ANGLE DELIVERS HIS FOURTH GERMAN SUPLEX!!!!

AND HE STILL HANGS ON!!!

On the outside, Vince is delighted, nodding like a fool, and giving a double thumbs up, as Angle once again hauls the dead weight body of Cena to his feet, and once there, Kurt takes a moment to take a deep breath in … AND CONNECTS WITH A FIFTH GERMAN SUPLEX!!! Mercifully, he lets go after the fifth, and indeed, sells the effects the series of Germans have had on his own body, lying on the canvas, taking a moment to gather himself, before turning over, and onto his knees, sucking in a deep breath, before pulling Cena towards him, and hooking the leg…

…………KICK OUT…………
!!!!!

For John Cena, there is simply too much on the line tonight for him to fold at this stage!!! Angle sits up, breathing heavy, having just threw the proverbial kitchen sink at his adversary, yet still couldn’t finish him off, and looks to be wondering what it‘ll take. On the outside, McMahon is going nuts, getting onto the apron, and berating Scott Armstrong, citing a slow count. Armstrong tries to hold his ground, and attempts to reason with Vince … BUT VINCE SMACKS HIM WITH A RIGHT HAND!!! Armstrong falls to a knee, holding his face, as the maniacal Chairman steps inside, AND BOOTS THE OFFICIAL IN THE RIBS … AND ARMSTRONG GOES OUT OF THE RING!!!

With the referee now incapacitated, Vince makes a beeline for the steel chair, instructing Angle to get Cena up. Kurt grants Vince his command, and pulls Cena up, with Cena on another planet, unable to stand on his own power, as Kurt has to hold him up. Vince then tells Angle to hold Cena up for a defenceless chair shot … (can you guess where this is going??) … and Kurt obeys, holding Cena up, keeping the arms locked behind his back, leaving Cena vulnerable … AND VINCE COMES WITH THE CHAIR … CENA DUCKS … AND VINCE CLOCKS ANGLE!!!!

Whilst it’s been seen a hundred times before, the botched chair shot still gets the reaction from the fans, as Angle crumbles to the ground, with Vince standing still, mouth open wide in pure shock, looking down at his representative, dropping to his knees to help bring Angle around … AS CENA COMES FROM BEHIND … WITH THE THROWBACK TO VINCE!!!!! McMahon rolls onto the apron, clutching his neck, whilst Cena pulls Angle away from the ropes, somehow making a cover…

…………………

……………………………
…NO REFEREE…
!!!!!!!

Cena has the match won, but there isn’t a referee, after Vince took out Scott Armstrong!!! Cena looks around, hammering his hands onto the canvas three times to signify the count, before rolling off Angle, and looking around, as he looks for the official … THEN WE SEE CHARLES ROBINSON RUN TO THE RING!!! Cena spots Robinson running to the ring, and makes the cover again, as Robinson makes the count …

…………1…………

………………2………………

……SHOULDER UP……
!!!!!

Cena cannot believe it!!! Angle survives, as Cena curses his luck, having taken out the outside factors, but then had no referee!!! Cena puts the setback behind him though, getting his head back on the matters at hand, and gets back to his feet, taking a quick look at Angle, who is beginning to stir, before proceeding to the corner, and stepping out onto the apron, climbing the buckles, positioning himself on the top rope, waiting for Angle to get up in order to deliver the flying leg drop from the top … BUT ANGLE BURSTS FROM HIS CROUCHED POSITION … AND JUMPS THE ROPES … SENDING CENA FLYING OFF THE TOP WITH A BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX!!!!! It’s utter chaos inside the Bell Centre, with both men down, and a rabid audience seemingly torn between Angle and Cena at this stage. Angle pushes through the pain, and crawls onto Cena, making a one armed cover …

And it continues!!!!! Cena continues this anarchy, with Kurt sitting up, shaking his head, looking to be on the verge of tears. The Olympian gets up, looking to the heavens, before summoning the energy to drag Cena back to his feet, pulling his opponent up … THEN CENA BURSTS … ANGLE ONTO HIS SHOULDERS … FU … BUT ANGLE TRIES TO KICK HIMSELF FREE … AND KICKS CHARLES ROBINSON!!! … CENA THEN LOOKS TO DELIVER THE FU … BUT ANGLE LANDS ON HIS FEET … AND SHOCKS CENA WITH AN ANGLE SLAM!!!!! Angle makes the cover, but Charles Robinson is on his knees, holding his face, not aware of the cover … but Angle is quick to get up and shake Robinson, pointing toward Cena, and goes back to the cover, but Robinson is slow to make it…

The Wrestling Machine lets out a huge roar of frustration, and takes his anger out on Charles Robinson, grabbing the official by the shirt as he gets up … THEN DELIVERS AN UNPROVOKED ANGLE SLAM!!! Kurt then stomps the official out of the ring, venting his fury. We now see Scott Armstrong back in the ring, looking worse for wear, but he comes from behind to try and calm the Olympian, but Angle doesn’t realise who it is … AND OUT OF INSTINCT ANGLE DELIVERS AN ANGLE SLAM TO ARMSTRONG!!!

It’s total anarchy inside the Bell Centre, with bodies piling up at an alarming rate, with Angle now looking around, wondering what he has to do to finish this match, with no referees available. Conveniently, Vince has stirred, and, looking worse for wear, motions to the back for someone to come out … whilst Angle watches … AS NICK PATRICK JOGS TO THE RING!!! The most corrupt official in the business waddles down the ramp to massive heat from the fans inside the Bell Centre, whilst Angle nods, going back to Cena, looking to finish him off. The Wrestling Machine pulls Cena up, and goes behind, looking for a second ANGLE SLAM … BUT CENA LANDS ON HIS FEET … AND TRIPS ANGLE DOWN … AND APPLIES THE STFU!!!!!

Angle is trapped, whilst Nick Patrick looks to his boss on the outside, wanting guidance … with McMahon standing motionless, unable to fathom what’s going on, shaking his head is disbelief, whilst Cena cranks back … AND ANGLE RAISES HIS ARM TO TAP … BUT NICK PATRICK DROPS DOWN AND GRABS THE ARM TO STOP HIM!!!!! Patrick - the referee - saves the match, whilst Cena cranks back further, with seemingly no other option at this point … BUT TOMKO IS BACK AND HE ATTACKS CENA, BREAKING THE HOLD!!!!!

The Problem Solver has finally recovered from the chair shot earlier, and puts the boots to Cena, beating the one man army down … AS SHANE MCMAHON NOW RETURNS TO THE RING!!! Silver spoon Shane hobbles down the aisle, coming to lend his support to the McMahon Family cause, after suffering the devastating FU earlier. He limps to the ring, with Vince nodding approvingly, going under the ring apron, and pulling out a TRASH CAN!!! It’s obvious what’s on the mind of Vince, with the chairman hurling the can into the ring, getting the attention of Tomko, telling the Problem Solver what to do, with Tomko nodding, pulling Cena into the corner in a seated position against the ropes, and placing the trash can in place over his torso, whilst Shane stands over Cena for a moment, talking trash, then proceeds across the ring, to climb the ropes. Angle is back on his feet now, and keeps Cena down in position with a couple of well placed boots to the face. Shane gets onto the ropes, and takes a few seconds to steady himself, as the fans momentarily fall silent … BEFORE SHANE GOES COAST TO COAST … CRASHING THE TRASHCAN THROUGH CENA!!!!!

“HOLY SHIT” is the chant that reverberates around the Bell Centre for the umpteenth time this evening, and it is SURELY over now, as Angle pulls Cena from the corner, looking to finish him off … BUT VINCE TELLS HIM TO STOP????? Angle quizzically looks to McMahon, wondering why he wouldn’t want him to end it now … but Vince, with a sick, twisted smile on his face tells Kurt “Ankle lock”. A similar look develops on the face of Angle now, and he waves Tomko off, telling the Problem Solver he’s done his bit. Tomko leaves the ring, whilst Shane is helped out by his Father, as Angle takes his time, walking around Cena, then looking to Patrick … then grabs the leg of the immobile John Cena … AND APPLIES THE ANKLELOCK!!!

Cena is out cold, and doesn’t even react to the pain of the ankle lock, as Nick Patrick looks to Vince, with the fans giving massive heat, knowing what next to expect … AS VINCE NODS … AND NICK PATRICK CALLS FOR THE BELL!!!

…BUT THERE IS NO BELL…

!!!!!

Vince looks furious, and marches towards the timekeepers table, shouting “RING THE DAMN BELL!!!” … but Mark Yeaton shakes his head, refusing to do it, with Vince turning a beet red … and lunges at Mark Yeaton, grabbing him by the shirt, DEMANDING the bell be rung … but before it can be …

**HERE COMES THE PAIN**

WHAT??????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vince stops dead, whilst the Bell Centre IS ROCKING!!! It’s utter madness inside the Bell Centre, with the fans going apeshit … AS BROCK LESNAR EMERGES FROM THE ENTRANCE … FLANKED BY LINDA MCMAHON, SENIOR OFFICIAL MIKE CHIODA … AND ERIC BISCHOFF!!!!!

With the unreal sight of the indefinitely suspended Brock Lesnar, and the fired Eric Bischoff … we get the trademark VINCE MCMAHON OVER THE TOP GULP OF DOOM!!!

Whilst Vince has come to a shocking standstill, Angle has released the Ankle lock, and gets out of the ring, following Shane and Tomko up the aisle to meet the Iron Man, with Nick Patrick even exiting the ring to greet the party crashers … BUT LESNAR RIPS THROUGH SHANE AND TOMKO WITH A MASSIVE DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE!!! Angle then trades blows with Lesnar, whilst Eric, Linda and Chioda proceed down the aisle … AS CHIODA PLANTS NICK PATRICK WITH A BIG RIGHT HAND!!!

It’s bedlam inside the Bell Centre, as we cut back to Angle and Lesnar, as Brock gets the better of Kurt … AND DELIVERS A BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX ON THE STEEL RAMP!!! Lesnar gets to his feet … AND SHANE LEAPS AT HIM FROM BEHIND trying to apply a sleeper … BUT LESNAR FLINGS HIM OFF LIKE A RAG DOLL!!!

Brock picks Shane up, and carries the young McMahon to ringside, whilst Eric Bischoff and a fuming Mister McMahon come face to face inside the ring … with Eric blocking a right from Vince, then kicks him in the gut … AND CONNECTS WITH A KARATE KICK TO THE HEAD!!! Vince slumps to the canvas, as Eric stands over him, yelling obscenities … BEFORE PULLING OUT A PAIR OF HANDCUFFS!!! On the outside, Lesnar has Shane on his shoulders … AND THROWS HIM INTO THE RINGPOST WITH AN F5!!! But then, from behind, Tomko attacks Lesnar, pounding at the back of the Iron Man … BUT LESNAR SCOOPS HIM UP … F5 THROUGH THE SPANISH ANNOUNCE TABLE!!!!

It’s complete carnage inside the Bell Centre, with Shane down, Tomko down in amongst the rubble of the announce table, Nick Patrick down, along with Charles Robinson and Scott Armstrong too … AND VINCE MCMAHON IS HANDCUFFED TO THE ROPES!!! Inside the ring, Linda helps John Cena to his feet, with Cena in a bad way, but somehow now standing. Brock Lesnar hops onto the apron, and stands over Vince, with McMahon at his absolute lowest ebb, begging off the massive Iron Man, close to tears. Brock shakes his head, but doesn’t strike the chairman, and instead steps aside, motioning for Vince to watch … as Kurt Angle stumbles inside the ring … AND JOHN CENA BURSTS FROM NOWHERE TO EXECUTE THE FU!!!!! Cena hooks the leg, as Mike Chioda plays his part … with Mister McMahon forced to watch the humiliation …

WINNER: JOHN CENA @ 20:15
*Total Match Time (including pre-match brawl): 23:24*

VINCE MCMAHON IS HISTORY!!!!! He gambled … and lost!!! The Boss is on his knees, gob smacked by the shocking conclusion to this crazy main event. Linda is on the outside, nodding, and clapping, with her plan gazumping her husband.

Jim Ross: THE PICTURE TELLS A THOUSAND WORDS!!! VINCE MCMAHON HAS BEEN BEATEN AT HIS OWN GAME!!!

The Coach: I- I-

Jim Ross: THE BELL CENTRE IS IN HYSTERICS - IT’S POETIC JUSTICE TONIGHT!!! Nearly ten years on from that infamous screw job, right here in this very building in Montreal, the incident that gave birth to the egomaniacal Mister McMahon … tonight, he has suffered - tonight, the shoe is on the other foot, and it’s McMahon who has been on the other side of a Montreal screw job!!!!

The Coach: THAT’S NOT A GOOD THING!!!

On the outside, Brock Lesnar leaves up the ramp, having played his part, whilst Eric Bischoff nods to Linda, who nods back. In the ring, John Cena is on his feet, looking to the outside, seemingly shocked by the turnaround in the closing moments. He looks out to Linda, with Linda giving him a massive thumbs up, with the spent Cena only able to muster a nod, before leaning against the ropes, blowing hard for air.

Meanwhile, Vince is on his knees, head bowed, as the realisation kicks in. Kurt Angle is coming around, whilst Shane remains incapacitated, along with Tomko.

Jim Ross: Ladies and Gentlemen, you are witnessing the end of an era - the fall of an empire. Mister McMahon from this point forward will never appear on television again, no more kiss ass clubs, no more appreciation nights, MISTER MCMAHON IS NO MORE!!!

The Coach: This is the beginning of the end, J.R. I’m telling ya. Without Mister McMahon to keep order on television, the WWE is about to implode!!!

Jim Ross: No way. Tonight, the WWE was saved from Vince McMahon. Tonight, Brock Lesnar, Eric Bischoff, Linda McMahon and John Cena saved the WWE from destroying itself!!! Tonight, they have safeguarded the future of this business, out of the tyrannical hands of Mister McMahon.

Cena nods to the fans, then makes sure Vince spots him, and catches his eye, before saluting McMahon, as if to say goodbye. Vince crumbles again, bowing his head, shaking it in despair, as his world falls apart in Montreal.

Cena leaves the ring, whilst Angle has rolled to the outside too, looking around the arena, realising he failed to live up to his end of the bargain.

Then, we cut back to Vince in the ring, sobbing.

Jim Ross: It is an image that will live on in the memory … forever. The sight of Mister Vincent Kennedy McMahon, on his knees, with tears in his eyes. The empire has crumbled, the ego has gone … tonight … Vince McMahon … suffered his backlash.

The show ends with the sight of Mister McMahon, sobbing, on his knees, still cuffed to the ropes … the last shot of Vince on television … forever??

END OF SHOW
