Opening the show with Arn Anderson is a little bit bland; however regarding what happened last week I really think it is the correct decision. Jericho out of action for six months makes me very upset, so I really hope that it some how turns out that it’s not as bad as it first seems, although I doubt it very much. Naming Edge as the number one contender is a brave move, as heel against heel rarely works, but regarding the situation, I really couldn’t see you doing anything else. So, now we’ve got Edge/Dinsmore for later on, and a main event feud to send us to Judgment Day. Just my random rhoughts now, this Orton/Edge thing has the chance to be insane, with both being absolutely nuts and what not, so I really hope you utilize this feud, and make it all it can be.
at Albright’s reason as to why he attacked London from behind. I swear I love Albright, he’s such a typical, olden day heel, it’s a shame he is not going to be United States Champion for much longer, as I still see him losing at Judgment Day.
What an entertaining way to start the show, with a pretty epic battle royal. I’m not going to give my thoughts on every elimination, however I would like to say that the elimination of Chavo Guerrero by Brian Kendrick did not go unnoticed, as he slowly continues he’s turn to the heel side of things. As for the ending, it was pretty cool, with London winning like I expected, and also finding a way to continue the Carlito/MVP feud. Overall, this battle royal really served it’s purpose setting some stuff up, even if only three guys could realistically win the match.
MVP going nuts is completely understandable; it’s probably good that Carlito has gone as well, as he needs to be not injured for when they fight each other at JD.
A good win for Finlay over Charlie Haas in this little side feud, and since its one and one, I guess it could be continuing, although I think at this stage it’s a little dull, perhaps something could be added to it.
I loved the Randy Orton interview. Short… sweet… and to the point. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, and once again, I love the way you’re putting over his sadistic side, as he clearly has plans to put everybody he faces on the shelf.
John Bradshaw Layfield defeating Jamie Noble was always going to happen; it was simply a nice way to get him back in the good books. Nothing special, just smart superstar building.
Hulk Hogan is going to be here on Smackdown next week, and that’s pretty cool, however I really hope he doesn’t take up to much air time, because there’s really only so much Hogan does, before he gets boring, so I’m really hoping for JBL to belt the fuck out of him next week, and keep him out for a long time before Judgment Day.
The tag team division is still really weak at this stage, as shown by the match up set for tonight, and even this backstage segment, even recapped, was a little dull. The AMW inbred jokes probably would have been cool, but besides that, I’m not sure anything else would have really made this exciting. One thing I’m really looking forward to is the fact that Booker T and Elijah Burke will be next to challenge judging by this segment, and at the moment, they’re the best challengers you’ve got.
The New Wave segment was pretty much Orton getting the troops ready, and I don’t mind all that, and it seems as if they are really trying to make an impact on Smackdown, so I’m interested to see just where you go with them, as I really believe that at the moment, they are still at a cross road.
AMW OWN The Murdoch Twins, just like they should have, and now I’m intrigued to see what happens next in the tag division. I really hope the Booker/Burke thing happens, but I can just never be sure, until it actually happens.
Another interesting segment with Kendrick, continuing his slow turn to a heel. Chavo and Crazy being silly enough to believe him is just laughable, and I loved the smile Kendrick got when talking about double gold. Either way, this was a pretty good segment, continuing this storyline, and I can’t wait until Kendrick/Chavo Guerrero kicks into gear.
Garrison Cade getting the win over Jeff Hardy was something that I did not expect, although I’m happy for the whole New Wave getting over situation.
Carlito/MVP for JD? Hell yeah! Although I wasn’t a huge fan of the way MVP reacted. I would have wanted him to be happy, after Carlito cost him the match, perhaps showing off a sign of his aggressive side, but having him look ungrateful, just takes a bit away from that, imo.
Edge short and sweet also, that’s pretty top notch!
Edge getting the win in this main event was always going to happen, although I don’t like Edge not waiting to JD for a shot. I don’t know I just feel like him against Orton could be done better than a one week rush job, so hopefully there is some type of swerve. A pretty good main event anyway, and I was happy to see that Dinsmore went ten minutes with Edge.
Overall, it was an okay show, without being anything special, it could have even been a little dull at times, but I guess it does the job, passing some time, and setting up a pretty awesome main event for next week.
6) World Heavyweight Championship;
Hell in a Cell Match:
vs. Triple H
Christian is not ready to lose the title, Trips needs to be out of the picture for awhile.
1) Intercontinental Championship Match:
Rey Mysterio vs. Shelton Benjamin
The New Brotherhood seems to have brought new life to Benji, while Mysterio seems to be just putting along. I really believe the gold will do more for Benji at this point in time.
3) World Tag Team Championships Match:
Can't lose yet.
2) Womens Championship Match:
Gonna get the victory, to continue what's happening with Melina and Beth.
5) All or Nothing:
~ If John Cena wins, Mr. McMahon must relinquish sole ownership of the WWE, and allow Linda McMahon to take the company public again ~
~ If Mr. Mahons representative wins, he will be permitted to proceed with total ownership of the company ~
vs. Kurt Angle
I just can't see Cena being fired, tbh.
4) Raw Exclusive Money in the Bank Match:
Six Pack Challenge Match | One Fall to a Finish:
Shawn Michaels vs. Umaga vs. Tyson Tomko vs. Matt Hardy vs. William Regal vs. Mr. Kennedy
Other than him, I'd say Michaels or 'Mags, but they will be feuding with each other, which leaves Kennedy to take the briefcase.
*One point for each winner correctly predicted*
1) Predict the match order (One point for each predicted correctly)
2) Will there be any surprise appearances?? If yes, name one. (Three points
3) Who will be pinned in the Money in the Bank match?? (Three points)
Tomko. I don't feel he belongs.
4) What will be the longest match?? (Two points)
HIAC has got to be, otherwise you're wasting the match type.
Can't wait for it, man.
