Re: Being the booker
RAW; 1st November 2004; Atlanta;
Another wild night ensued this week on RAW, as the Survivor Series moved even closer, and many feuds began to reach full circle.
We kicked off with Kane taking on Tommy Dreamer in a Hardcore rules match, with Dreamer making the challenge after seeing Kane plough through many of RAW’s roster in recent weeks.
Dreamer put up a good fight, but Kane soon overpowered the Innovator of Violence, and finished him off with a choke slam through a trashcan.
Kane wasn’t finished though. He then tombstoned Dreamer on the outside, before dragging him to the top of the ramp, and delivering another Chokeslam, this time, off the stage.
He then stopped EMT’s from helping Dreamer, with a number of choke slams, before laughing at the carnage and leaving.
Who will stop Kane on his path of destruction, or can anyone stop the Big Red Machine?
The World heavyweight Champion, Chris Jericho had a showdown with long time foe Shawn Michaels, telling the Showstopper that he told him last week, he didn’t need, or want his help, but HBK fired back telling Jericho that he was only looking out for himself, not Jericho, as he needs to make sure that Y2J goes to the PPV as the champion, so HBK come out as the Champion.
Randy Orton watched on the monitor while this was going on, telling his Evolution cohorts that with the way HBK and Y2J are carrying on, it will be a walk in the park for him at Survivor Series.
Jazz, Lita, Molly, and Victoria competed this week in a Fatal Four Way to determine just who would face Shaniqua at Survivor Series for the Women’s Title.
Lita came out on top, nailing Molly with a DDT for the win, but immediately, she received a beat down from her PPV opponent Shaniqua, ending with Lita bloody from the mouth.
It was then time for the big event of the night, the Bret Hart - Vince McMahon contract signing for Survivor Series.
Throughout the segment, McMahon continuously tried to infuriate the Hitman, looking for Hart to rise to the insults. Hart remained clam, never speaking a word.
RAW GM, Mick Foley overlooked the whole process, telling the audience about the clauses, including, Mike Chioda as the assigned referee, No DQ, No Count outs, No time limits, and no stoppage for blood loss. He also told the crowd that to ensure there would be no interference, extra security would be employed to guard the entrance way, and all emergency exits in the crowd.
After the contracts were signed, Vince then told the audience, NOT to buy Survivor Series if you are a die hard Bret fan, because all you will see is a washed up, glory hogging, out of shape, HAS BEEN, have his career and the rest of his natural life taken from him, by the man he despises most.
Bret then took a microphone, and told Vince that he may have all the words, but they are all BULLSHIT!! And at Survivor Series, Bret Hart exacts revenge, but until then, he will not lay a hand on McMahon, because he will let all that rage fire up inside him, and unleash it at Survivor Series.
McMahon then took a bottle of water and threw it in the face of Bret before quickly jumping out of the ring, but instead of going mad, Bret smiled, and pointed toward Vince shouting 13 days!!
Ric Flair and Batista then had an interview. In it they announced their five man team for Survivor Series, consisting of them, Edge, Christian and MATT MORGAN!! They then said that right now, they will go out and watch their most dominating member bar Batista take out the freak, Goldust.
Matt Morgan then faced Goldust, with the Intercontinental Championship on the line. Morgan made quick work of Goldust, thanks to the help of his manager, Eric Bischoff. Afterwards, Flair & Batista made their way to the ring, and proceeded with Morgan to beat down Goldust.
Sting then ran down to go for Morgan, but Edge and Christian soon ran down, and helped their Survivor Series team mates to a five on two assault.
However, John Cena, along with Booker T and RVD made the save, running off Team Evolution. Cena then announced that the five men you see before you, Booker T, Goldust, RVD and Sting, all represent Team Thuganomics.
Mick Foley then entered the fray. He told Edge and Christian to not go anywhere right now, as he has just booked them to take on Sting and RVD, right NOW!!
He then forced the other members of both teams to the back, as the tag match took place. First blood on the road to the ten man elimination went to Team Thuganomics, with Sting picking up the victory scoring with a Deathdrop on Edge to take the win.
Afterwards E&C hightailed, whilst Sting & RVD celebrated in the ring.
Mick Foley, then tried to reprimand Kane for his actions earlier in the night, but Kane lost control again and began to tear up the backstage area, and even beat up some officials, until RAVEN attacked Kane. He throttled the Big Red machine with a steel chair, sending Kane into retreat. Could Raven be the man to stop Kane on his path of destruction?
It was then time for the Main Event, pitting Evolution against Jericho, Michaels and Cena.
For the entire match, Cena had to try to calm down his partners, who continually got in each others faces, and refused to tag one another, leaving Cena to take it upon himself to take on all three members of Evolution, deciding not to tag either of his partners. Eventually Evolution took control, and worked on Cena, leaving Jericho & HBK with no option but to work together, and put differences aside.
Eventually they made the tag, with Cena tagging in Y2J. Jericho cleaned house, then applied the Walls to Batista, but Orton broke the hold.
He and Jericho went at it, but thanks to HBK, Y2J got the upper hand, knocking Randy out of the ring.
Cena then nailed Batista with an FU, and Jericho hit the Lionsault to get the three count.
A brawl then broke out, as all the competitors in the Team Evolution - Team Thuganomics match ran in, with an arena wide brawl the result.
Jericho then saw Edge coming toward him, and countered into the Walls. Then Randy Orton came him and nailed Jericho from behind with a steel chair. HBK came in and went punch of punch with Orton, before taking the chair, and waffling Orton with it to the outside. He then helped up Jericho, who saw HBK with the chair in hand, and put 2 + 2 together, thinking it was Michaels that hit him. He punched HBK to the floor, and then nailed him with the chair.
He stood over the body of Michaels as we cut to Orton on the outside looking on and laughing as the show goes off the air.
Kane defeated Tommy Dreamer in a Hardcore Match.
Lita won a Fatal Four Way to earn a shot at the Women’s Title at Survivor Series.
Matt Morgan defeated Goldust to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
Sting and Rob Van Dam defeated Edge & Christian
Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels and John Cena defeated Evolution.
Smackdown: 4th November 2004; New Orleans:
With just ten days until Survivor Series, the Smackdown side of things really took shape, this week, with a Number 1 Contenders match for the Cruiserweight Title, as well as the final competitors announced for the Elimination match at Survivor Series.
We kicked off with a 12 Man Battle Royal to determine the #1 Contender for the Cruiserweight Title.
Shannon Moore and Akio were first to go, after tussling with each other over the top rope. Next to go was Funaki, eliminated by Noble. Noble then eliminated Billy Kidman, before being eliminated by Rey Mysterio himself.
Scotty was then punished for trying to hit the Worm, and was eliminated by Tajiri, Tajiri, then sneakily eliminated Paul London and Nunzio, as they tussled, he flipped both over.
Hurricane then got rid of Ultimo, and Rey Mysterio was eliminated by Tajiri, thanks to the help of Akio and Sakoda.
The final two were Hurricane and Tajiri. Tajiri looked set to win thanks to help from his buddies, but Citizen Strom then came to the rescue, and helped Hurricane to victory, giving him a shot at Chavo at Survivor Series, and the opportunity to become a double champion.
Next up, Chris Benoit was seen looking a list of possible people to make up his final two partners at Survivor Series, when Test & Steiner entered the room along with William Regal. Regal then gloated to Benoit that he had found the most impressive tag team on Smackdown in recent months to makeup the final two places on his team, while Benoit had nothing.
Then, Bradshaw and Faarooq walked in. They told Regal he was wrong, because Benoit has found two more partners, US!!!!
Regal then gulped, and quickly left with Test & Steiner as APA shook hands with Benoit.
Eddie Guerrero then faced Test in an even encounter. Eddie came out with the win, after Steiner was sent to the back by the referee. This distracted Test, allowing Eddie to get a roll up, and a three count.
All six men involved in the Elimination Chamber were interviewed throughout the night, with all six having the same goal at Survivor Series… victory.
Backstage, The Rock and Triple H had a showdown, with The Game taunting The Rock about not having the same presence he had before, now that he has ‘gone’ Hollywood.
The Rock responded by telling HHH, that the only place he has ‘gone’, and is ‘going’, is to Survivor Series to whoop his Monkey ass, and take the WWE Championship.
La Resistance continued to heap the woes on the Basham’s with an easy win over the Brothers. It is looking increasingly likely that the Basham’s might never get back on winning ways.
William Regal then went one on one with Bradshaw, and made quick work of the APA member, after Bradshaw took full control, with a Boot, power slam, and Powerbomb, he went for the clothesline from hell, but Regal ducked and nailed Bradshaw with the Power of the Punch to pick up a three count.
The referee never noticed that Regal used the knucks, as Regal quickly ran for higher ground as Benoit ran in for revenge.
It was announced that Vince McMahon would once again be on RAW next week, to deliver a final speech regarding the match vs. Bret at Survivor Series.
Then in the Main Event, Triple H, Big Show and Brock Lesnar took on Kurt Angle, Goldberg, and The Rock in a six man tag.
Surprisingly, the two teams remained in tact for the whole match, until all hell broke loose as Angle made a desperation tag to The Rock, who cleaned house. He ducked an attempted clothesline from Big Show, who then accidentally ran into Lesnar. Lesnar then attacked Big Show, and nailed the 500 pounder with an F5.
Triple H then argued with Brock over that incident and they went at it. The Rock meanwhile picked up the win after nailing a Peoples Elbow on Big Show.
The Rock then went face to face with Goldberg and they went at it, but Kurt Angle then came in, but instead of breaking things up, he hit an Angle Slam on Goldberg, and nailed Rock with a Rock Bottom.
He then went after HHH and Lesnar, but HHH got out of the way, and let Angle fight it out with Lesnar.
The Game picked up his Sledgehammer, and proceeded to nail both men. He then told Lesnar never to touch his title like he did last week, before getting in the ring and clocking Goldberg with the weapon.
He then spotted The Rock trying to make it to his feet, and hit a Pedigree on him before closing the show as he talked smack to The Rock, with all the other five down.
Hurricane won a 12 Man Battle Royal to earn a Cruiserweight Title shot at Survivor Series
Eddie Guerrero defeated Test
La Resistance defeated The Basham Brothers
William Regal defeated Bradshaw
The Rock, Angle & Goldberg defeated Big Show, Lesnar, and Triple H
