Raw Review:

Pretty good start to the show, although I was a little disappointed because I thought Vince’s announcement would be about something separate from the Rumble. With that said, this was a very good way to keep CC’s storyline heading into the Rumble an interesting one, as anyone who eliminates him on Sunday OR hurts him tonight will get either a Championship match at ‘Mania or #30. Figured that Vince was lying to Lesnar, tbh. Not sure if anyone will take out Christian, but him facing Finlay in the Main Event should be a good match.

Liked the commentators talking about what happened at the start of the show, with the face and heel roles played very well by both men. Looks like a solid card, hopefully HBK vs. Orton can be the MOTN.

Pretty much how I saw that match between Rey and Mark Henry going, as there is really no way Mysterio can mount any offense against this mastodon. At least Shelton was the one who won the match for Henry, as Mark pinning Rey cleanly would have been a disaster. Maybe this means Rey is winning on Sunday, because he certainly got owned tonight.

Umaga OWNS. Final Four of the Rumble, plz.

Very good interview from Christian, more of a short promo, in fact, as he was more pumped up than we’ve seen in a very long time. Love the confidence and bringing up the Stone Cold thing in ’99 was a good call, playing off the feud they had last year. Christian is going to go far in the Rumble, that’s a given, but given the fact that you built him up, I may be having seconds thoughts about whether he might still win. Either way, the interaction with Lesnar was good, as we can see Brock moving closer and closer to being a face these past few weeks.

Very good match between Orton’s three protégés, as they lay it all on the line. The right choice was made, as Dinsmore was the best of these three, and has been treated as such the past year. I think he should last a while, because he may have a big 2007. I just have a feeling about that.

Funny little segment with CC and Boogey. Kinda sad how far Boogey has fallen, but this was some good humor nonetheless. Guess we know he won’t be getting Christian’s spot.

Good little promo from Orton, but I see this as the first year he ISN’T in the Main Event of WrestleMania. Glad that Michaels came down to shut him up and the match between these two starts right NOW~! Glad that HBK was able to get all of his frustration out, but I was surprised by the finish and also the aftermath. I pegged this feud as over, with Michaels set to face Foley at WM23, but I guess we will have one more rematch between these two. Way to make Orton look like the bad-ass we all know he is. Kudos.

{Sighs} … I just hate the Cena character that you showed us with his first line about making some noise. It’s just boring and way too kid-focused, imo. Anyway, time to talk about the rest of the promo. The rest of the promo was very strong, especially after we heard Cena’s whole spiel and got The Game out onto the stage. Triple H really got owned throughout this entire promo, as he really only said things we’d heard before. Cena showing intensity was awesome, and he made some great points, but that still won’t help him win this Sunday. Triple H will find a way, most likely using cheap tactics, but we all know that The King of Kings is heading into ‘Mania as the World Heavyweight Champion.

Very high-paced and exciting contest between six of Raw’s finest young studs. Great to see MNM still look somewhat strong in this loss, with Kennedy looking even stronger by just leaving the ring. I think that Straight Edge is going to get the title soon, just not sure when. Good way for them to get over the tag Champions once more.

Very funny promo by T-Lo, as the Brotherhood has been very impressive this past year, but there’s no way Mark Henry wins the Rumble. I liked what happened with Christian, as he owns both Mack and Jordan, causing them to fall, showing another unsuccessful attempt at taking him out.

Laree OWNS and Candice doesn’t, at least not in the ring. Alexis vs. Melina is coming at WM23, imo, and it should be a good match.

I liked the segment with Straight Edge talking, as they won’t be splitting anytime soon, but they still know that they would like to head to WM23. Glad that they were able to joke, and I think the tag titles will be their main concern for a while.

I really liked this little segment between Kennedy and Stephanie, as we all know that KK is a heel but it didn’t feel like it during this segment. Glad that he won’t do the McMahons’ bidding, as he is more focused on his own future. Very glad to see that.

Lesnar just put Vince right in his place and I think that the face turn is almost entirely complete. Lesnar is making it to the final two this Sunday, I just still think that CC’s got the win.

Good rundown for the card of the Rumble, as five matches is the perfect amount. Have you always done 2 minutes in between entries? I thought the WWE did a minute and a half. Good picks for Coach and J.R, with them both feeling pretty confident.

LMAO at Shane getting owned on the ramp. No way that CC is getting taken out tonight … no chance in hell. Good win for Christian, as he has ALL the momentum in the world heading into this Sunday. I could see him maybe getting #1, but probably not. Loved how the plan of Vince fell through at the end of the match, with the Raw superstars all turning on each other. Vince gets owned right as the show ends, with CC giving him a little pat.

Great show to finish the Rumble build for Raw. I am so glad to see you back to doing full shows for both brands and I just think that the Road to WM23 is going to be phenomenal. Can’t wait for the Rumble!

Smackdown Preview:

The American Airlines Arena in Miami hosts the final stop before the Royal Rumble, two days away from the beginning of the race to WrestleMania 23, the last chance for the stars of the Smackdown roster to make a final point before this Sunday's event in Indianapolis.

And for Matt Hardy, revenge will be on his mind, after the sickening assault carried out by the WWE Tag Team Champions, AMW last week on his MF'er Shannon Moore, putting Moore on the shelf with a broken leg. Hardy valiantly took on both Harris and Storm last week in a losing effort, but this week on Smackdown, the former United States Champion will get Chris Harris one on one. All three men are set to be part of the Thirty Man Royal Rumble, and all three will have lofty ambitions of headlining WrestleMania, especially after Hardys stunning performance in last years Royal Rumble. And with Americas Most Wanted coming as a package to Indianapolis they could well get the chance to eliminate all the opposition and battle it out themselves for a chance to main event WrestleMania 23. Will Hardy settle the score with AMW this Friday?? Or will The Wildcat pile on the misery for the Sensei of Mattitude??

Meanwhile, the chase for the Cruiserweight Championship is hotting up, and ahead of this Sundays unpredictable six man tag team match for the title, Juvi & Psichosis will pair up to face Kid Kash & Brian Kendrick. Chavo Guerrero is sure to join his team mates at ringside for support, but will the Cruiserweight Champion, Super Crazy, be willing to second The Mexicools?? The champion has done his best to distance himself from the hugely unpopular duo, with his own popularity with the fans growing. But will he do what is in his best interest ahead of the Royal Rumble??

In recent weeks, Chris Jericho has done his best to rile his Royal Rumble opponents, getting a rise out of Mr. Money in the Bank Edge, last week. This Friday, The Highlight of the Night will have another opportunity to anger his fellow Rumble match competitors, hosting a special Highlight Reel ... without a guest!! With Jericho getting the opportunity to voice his opinions this Friday, will he manage to get under the skin of any of his other peers?? And will they stand for Jericho running them down without any consequences??

After last weeks shocking Chokeslam from The Undertaker to Rob Van Dam, the WWE Champion has demanded an opportunity at revenge this week, but Smackdown GM Arn Anderson has not yielded to the demands of a one on one match. Instead, Anderson has signed a highly intriuging tag team main event, pitting RVD AND Kurt Angle as an unlikely tandem, against The Brothers of Destruction - The Undertaker and Kane. Can Van Dam and Angle co-exist, with both now gunning for The Deadman?? Or will the tension ahead of this Sundays triple threat match boil over between Van Dam and Angle, playing into the hands of The Phenom??

It's sure to be an explosive Smackdown, with just forty eight hours remaining until the highly anticipated Royal Rumble.

***

Yeah, I know I said I'd post the show today. But I wanted to post a preview first. SD up tomorrow, and I'll probably push the posting of the Rumble to this day next week.

Sometime during the week I'll post a preview for the Royal Rumble too.

So, again - Smackdown tomorrow, RR Sunday.

After that I'll rest the thread for a few weeks, before kicking off the build up for WM. At that point, I'll start slowing down the rate of shows being posted. It seems that generally there is less regularity with shows going up elsewhere these days, like one every ten days or so, so I'll probably start posting just one show a week, especially when I start posting full Smackdowns (the last five going into WM).

On the subject of WrestleMania, I've got the first five weeks of shows written up (all Raws in full, all Smackdowns bar one so far in recap, SNME in full, SuperBrawl in extended recap), and I've made a start on WM with the opening video bit done, and one match nearly completed.

So, there's the update, SD up tomorrow around this time

Usually Matt Hardy against Chris Harris would not tickle my fancies however with Hardy wanting revenge and the circumstances regarding this match it could turn out to be a RR preview. Jericho highlight reel is always FTW to be honest. These things along with the WWE Championship scene is what has me waiting for SD. Wait actually scrap that the Mexicools thing is pretty hot to.

Overall Wolfy things are looking okay... Can't wait for the read

Last show then before the Royal Rumble...

***

Smackdown; January 12th: Miami:

The show kicks off with the Highlight Reel, presented, as always, by Chris Jericho. Of course, the topic of discussion tonight is the Royal Rumble match that he will be competing in, which is just two days away. He explains that tonight, he actually doesn’t have a guest on the Highlight Reel, but instead, he’s using it as a preview for Sundays rumble. Suddenly… Edge enters the arena. The Rated ‘R’ Superstar talks as he walks down the ramp, telling Jericho that he NOW he has a guest. The two look set to continue from where they left off last week with a brawl, but instead, The Animal, Batista stops the two men before they can get started.
The Animal riles both men, advising them that instead of fighting each other, they’d be better off teaming up if they wanted any chance of getting rid of him to win the Rumble, because on Sunday … The Animal will be unleashed.
This however, leads to Bobby Lashley. Lashley makes his presence felt, going nose to nose with Batista, before getting on the mic, and asks Batista if he forgot that Bobby Lashley is in the Royal Rumble?? Quickly, Jericho replies for the Animal, telling Lashley that EVERYONE forgot Lashley was in the Rumble. This gets a few laughs, but Lashley snipes back that if that’s true, then the other twenty nine guys have made the biggest mistake of their lives, because there isn’t a single man in the Rumble capable of stopping him from winning.

Now, Arn Anderson enters the fray, telling the four guys that he’s not someone who likes people talking about what they’ll do … he’s someone who likes to see people put their words into actions. So instead of the four of them talking about it, they’ll be in action, Edge versus Jericho versus Batista versus Lashley, but that’s not all, because he knows of two other Rumble competitors that want action tonight, and they are the United States Champion, Brent Albright and Paul London, making tonights match a 6 Way contest!!!

In the first match of the evening, Matt Hardy gets a chance to gain redemption on AMW after last weeks developments, taking on Chris Harris one on one. Duuring his entrance, Cole and Tazz discuss the shocking attack on Shannon Moore last week, with AMW being find a full months wages for their actions, and also state that Moore will be out of action INDEFINATELY. However, the revenge mission doesn’t go to plan for Hardy, as interference from Harris’ partner, James Storm, turns the match for The Wildcat, and Harris picks up the win, finishing off Hardy with a blistering Catatonic for the three count!!! AMW then beat down Hardy, delivering the Death Sentence, as they put an exclamation on their recent dominance over Hardy, and gain more momentum ahead of the Royal Rumble in two days time.

Josh Matthews then conducts an interview with Brent Albright, all smiles, as he clutches his U.S Title gold. He oversells his victory last week, and begins to state that at this rate, he’ll end up running out of challengers at the rate he’s ‘ploughing’ through them. Asked if whether he’d be willing to defend the belt again against Batista given the unfortunate circumstances leading to the finish last week, Albright shakes his head, echoing a Clubber Lang statement right outta Rocky III “I reject the challenge, because Batista is no challenge. But- I‘d be willing to beat up on him some more. I said he was nothing, and I proved it last week, when I beat him clean as a whistle.”

Royal Rumble Flashback - 2002 - Triple H returns from his seven month lay off to win the Rumble Match and advance to the main event of WM.

Backstage, Cody Rhodes runs into the cocky MVP. The two recent additions to the Smackdown roster clash, with MVP claiming that while he has earned his spot on the roster, Cody is only here because of his last name. Rhodes nods, and tells MVP to think about that again after they face each other later.

Next up, Kid Kash & Brian Kendrick take on Juvi & Psichosis just two days from the six man tag for the Cruiserweight title. Chavo joins the faces at ringside, but towards the end, Super Crazy also makes his way to back up the Mexicools. And ultimately, it is the presence of the champion that is the deciding factor, as he helps Juvi to nail the Juvi driver on Kendrick to deliver the three count. Crazy leaves as soon as the match is over, not looking at all comfortable helping his former running buddies, as Juvi and Psichosis celebrate.

Elsewhere, Batista and Lashley cross paths again, with Batista bringing up Lashleys showdown with Albright last week after Batista’s unfortunate accident cost him his title match. The Animal makes it clear to Lashley that he’d better wait his turn for a shot at the U.S Title, because he is far from finished with Brent. Lashley however, doesn’t take a blind bit of notice, answering The Animal with a simple “We’ll see”.

The WWE Champion then hits the ring, looking irate after what happened at the end of the show last week. RVD tells the fans he is pissed off after what happened last week, with Taker chokeslamming him for no reason. This leads to an interruption from Kurt Angle, who tells RVD he’ll be really pissed off on Sunday when he taps to lose the WWE Championship. RVD and Angle then go back and forth in a war of words, with Angle at one point trying to get RVD to agree to teaming up to take out Taker on Sunday, but Van Dam point blank refuses, insisting he’s going it alone, or not at all. Then, the lights go out, and yes, it’s Undertaker time. The Deadmans voice booms over the PA, telling both his opponents that they will meet their maker on Sunday, and a new WWE Champion will be crowned, because there is just no stopping what you cant kill. The lights come back, with both RVD & Angle staring at the other, taking in every word uttered by the Phenom.

After that, we get the six man contest, with Jericho, Edge, Batista, Lashley, London & Brent Albright getting it on in an action packed war. It’s a non stop contest, with near falls throughout, as the six men try to show off their credentials for this Sundays showpiece match. Everyone gets a near fall as the end comes, but in the end, after Lashley nails Albright with the Dominator, he gets caught by Batista with a spine buster … followed by a THUNDEROUS Batista Bomb!!!!! Batista makes the cover, 1...2...3!!! The Animal picks up a HUGE win over Lashley, putting himself firmly in the frame for this Sundays 30 Man Rumble (as well as ahead of Lashley in the pecking order for a U.S Title shot), as he looks to be hitting his peak at just the right time.

Backstage, Kid Kash, Brian Kendrick & Chavo Guerrero meet, and talk about Sundays match. The three make a pact to stay as one unit to make sure they take the title from the clutches of the Mexicools, and once they do that, they promise that whoever wins the belt gives the first two title shots to the other two.

Backstage, Josh Matthews interviews Matt Hardy. Fresh off his loss to AMW, Hardy seems upbeat, promising to gain revenge on Harris and Storm on Sunday … before moving on … and WINNING the Royal Rumble … which means he’s going to WrestleMania.

MVP continues his winning start to life in the WWE, beating the young third generation star, Cody Rhodes. It’s much tougher than MVP expected, perhaps taking the youngster too lightly, with Cody causing Porter plenty of problems, and in the end, MVP only scores the win through cheating, having to hold the tights to score the three count and beat Rhodes!!! MVP quickly exits the ring, looking irate with himself that he was pushed so close, whilst in the ring, Rhodes looks angered at losing, having come within a whisker of winning another match on Smackdown.

Then, just before the main event, Arn Anderson is asked about the mystery entrant set to take part in Sunday’s Rumble for the injured Shannon Moore. Double A refuses to discuss the names speculated, but does reveal that the superstar taking Moores place at the Rumble isn’t just competing for one night … he’s been signed to return to the Smackdown roster on a full time basis!!!

A video now plays, with a young man, and young woman in a car, kissing. The woman pulls away for a second.

Woman: Wait, wait.

The man looks upset, as the woman pulls away from him.

Man: What’s wrong??

Woman: It’s just … it’s my first time.

The man smiles, before reassuring the woman, whilst stroking her arm.

Man: It’s okay … it’s my first time too.

The woman now smiles, then looks inquisitive.

Woman: Really?? Well, have you got them??

Man: Yeah, they’re right here.

The man pulls his wallet out, seemingly to pull out a condom, and off camera the woman catches a glimpse of it.

Woman: Okay … I’m ready.

The camera now shows what the man pulled from his wallet … two WrestleMania 23 tickets.

Man: Alright. WrestleMania, here we come!!

They share a quick kiss, and exit the vehicle, as they walk away, holding hands … towards the New Orleans Superdome …

The video then ends with a big WrestleMania 23 logo … FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER IN NEW ORLEANS … AND YOU NEVER FORGET YOUR FIRST TIME.

***

It’s main event time, as Undertaker & Kane take on the unlikely tandem of RVD & Kurt Angle. We get a fantastic match up, even with the ever declining Kane involved, and with both RVD and Angle wanting a piece of Taker, we get little of Kane in the match. RVD & Angle surprisingly team up well, putting differences aside to get through this test, and in the end, THEY WIN, as RVD fights with The Undertaker to the outside, whilst in the ring, Angle avoids a choke slam, and delivers the Angle Slam to Kane!!! Angle hooks the leg, 1...2...3!!! It’s even more momentum for Angle, heading into the triple threat match at the Royal Rumble!!!

The show then goes off the air, with RVD and Taker still going at it, whilst Angle celebrates in the ring, posing with the WWE Championship, as he watches his two opponents tear the life out of one another!!!

Smackdown Review:

Pretty basic way to start the show. Y2J talks about winning the Rumble, making him seem as arrogant as ever. Glad that he is in this little mini-feud with Edge, but I would have liked a few more words between the two. I saw this merely as a way for Lashley and Batista to get on the show, as they shouldn’t be close to a microphone, especially not Black Lesnar. Anyway, good match signed for later, with us getting a little preview for the Rumble, just not sure who is going to be winning.

Not how I expected Matt’s “revenge” match to go at all. I guess it makes sense that he has to take on two people, with Storm helping out at every possible moment, I just thought he might get the win. Either way, good to see the tag champs look strong, and I still see the “other” Hardy coming back, joining his brother as they face AMW at WM23.

Glad that Albright is back to be his usual cocky self after winning last week. Batista will still be the man taking the title from him, imo, just not for a few more weeks.

‘VP to dismantle Cody, por favor.

I am glad that ‘Crazy at least showed his face on this show, but I was shocked that he helped Juvi and then just left. He really wants nothing to do with his former partners, and that will end up being their downfall this Sunday, imo.

Glad that Lashley’s words were kept to two in this altercation, as they really can’t talk that much, he and Batista. One of these men is winning the six-way tonight, and hopefully it is the Animal.

I am actually glad that we got this little promo to hype up the biggest SD! match on Sunday, even though we still have the Main Event between these three men. I think that RVD will still come out on top, but Angle could sneak in and get the win. I just don’t see ‘Taker winning, especially after he spoke the last words between these three. Still, the tag match later will give us a better idea of who will be the one winning.

I loved that Batista won the six-man match, making him look so strong heading into the biggest match of his career. Everyone looked pretty strong, but I am glad that Lashley took the fall. I’m just not that into him, tbh. Jericho, Edge, and London all come out looking as good as they did going in, so that’s not really a concern.

Little bit of partnership between Kendrick, Chavo, and Kash, but I don’t see any of them winning, as I can see another Mexicool getting the belt from Super Crazy.

Matt is not winning the Rumble, but I do see him eliminating ONE of the tag champions, just not the both of them.

No other choice than to have Porter win the match against “Create a Wrestler” Cody Rhodes, beating him even though he struggled a little bit. Even so, I hope ‘VP gets a good run on Sunday, while Cody just kind of floats around.

The surprise won’t be The Rock, but I do see it being a bigger name than JEFF HARDY, even though he will be returning before ‘Mania.

I thought it was good that RVD and Angle got along, and it was no shock to see Kane take the fall, leaving all three main event guys looking strong. Angle stands tall at the end, meaning that he won’t be winning this Sunday, but rather RVD will retain the belt.

Another decent edition of SD!, but it will be awesome when you get back to focus on this show more.

I don’t think that you are sold on making Lesnar the top face quite yet, so he will be the last eliminating, giving CC his win and a rematch with Triple H on the grandest stage of them all.

WWE Championship; Triple Threat Match:
Rob Van Dam vs. The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle

RVD has had a magical run, while ‘Taker and Kurt will be facing each other at ‘Mania. That will be a non-title, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Edge cashed in, giving RVD a spot in the Rumble.

World Heavyweight Championship Match:
Triple H vs. John Cena

The only man he should face at ‘Mania is Christian, and I think that will happen.

Cruiserweight Championship; 6 Man Tag Match:
The Mexicools vs. Kid Kash, Chavo Guerrero & Brian Kendrick

They will somehow get the victory, don’t know how, but I also think Juvi will get the belt.

Intercontinental Championship Match:
Shelton Benjamin vs. Rey Mysterio

Just think that he is the more exciting guy…

Smackdown Feedback

Awesome way to kick off the night with the Highlight Reel which leads to Edge, Batista and Lashley to all interrupt and state there claims for the Rumble. Double AA makes a six way main event which will be an awesome Rumble preview and well this is one thing I love about shows before the RR the way we have Rumble previews and several superstars involved in the one segment, it makes for exciting reading. This one sounded good a bit of a shame it is not in full really.

America’s Most Wanted once again go one up over Matt Hardy and he seriously needs to find himself a partner because if he doesn’t he is going to continually get made to look like AMW’s bitch… Speaking of wanting a partner I think that means Jeff Hardy is coming to Being the Booker

Albright very cocky and after both men fail in the Rumble I can see Albright and Batista having a rematch at No Way Out.

If you put Rhodes over MVP I will not be happy, MVP is ballin and Rhodes is Dusty’s kid. The decision better be what I want it to be.

Kash teaming with Kendrick is a unique tandem to say the least and thanks to Super Crazy, The Mexicools pick up the victory. Now it seems as if Crazy just helped his former partners however he wasn’t happy doing it. I can’t wait to see the climax of this story line

Batista and Lashley stare down was good but why in the hell would they be mentioning the US Title when earlier in the night they were arguing over who would win the Rumble match. Seems as if they are looking to far ahead this confrontation should have been about the Rumble not the US Title. RR > US Title and you did not make it seem like that. It was silly really and I guess both these men will not be winning the Rumble.

Nice three way segment between the three WWE Championship match participants at the Rumble and after thinking of it I must say. Can’t really say much else as it was short but it was good hype.

Batista picks up the pinfall over Lashley it was very unexpected, I expected Albright to pick up the victory but oh well it didn’t happen. Batista has momentum but he is not getting the victory.

Kash, Kendrick and Guerrero all working together should OWN at the PPV but I think the Mexicools are retaining. I say the Mexicools and not Crazy because I am not sure if he will win, I just know one of them will.

BAHAHAHA Hardy winning the Rumble after his burying as of late I don’t think so.

MVP got the win, thanks for that Wolfy.

Who is the returning superstar, I am definitely curious. I think Jeff Hardy

Kurt Angle ends the night and the main event on top but I don’t think it is lasting long tbh. RVD to retain.

Overall Wolfy, nice show probably better then your other SD’s anyway here are the predics.

OFFICIAL PREVIEW for WWE Royal Rumble:
Date:
14th January 2007
Location: Conseco Field House, Indianapolis, Indiana
Event Music: Saliva, Ladies and Gentlemen

30 Man Royal Rumble:
Winner has automatic shot at EITHER brand’s Champion at WrestleMania XXIII:

30 Men will enter ... 29 will fail ... and 1 will realise their goal, and find themselves with a Golden Opportunity in the main event of WrestleMnia 23. Two men will start the match, and every two minutes thereafter another will enter until all thirty superstars have entered the match. As always, elimination will occur when a superstar is thrown over the top rope, with both feet touching the floor.
This year, 10 men will make their Royal Rumble Match debut - 9 of which are still in their rookie year in the WWE, in a match featuring 6 former world champions, and 2 previous Royal Rumble winners. It makes for perhaps the most wide open Royal Rumble of all time, where almost anyone could fnd themselves victorious.
Despite this, there are numerous front runners and big candidates for victory, the former Royal Rumble winners - Brock Lesnar and Shawn Michaels, with HBK being the only man to win from entering #1, and the only two time winner in this year's field.
The other former world champions - Kane, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton & Christian, and up until last years event, Kane held the record for most eliminations in a single Rumble match with 11 in 2001.
Elsewhere, Mister Money in the Bank Edge, The Animal Batista, the Undefeated Samoan Bulldozer Umaga and the 2006 King of the Ring Mister Kennedy will be big contenders for victory too. Despite the shortlist of contenders, this Royal Rumble is wide open ... and it's anybodies for the taking.
30 Men Will Enter ... 29 Will Fall ... 1 Will Win The Race To WrestleMania

WWE Championship; Triple Threat Match:
Rob Van Dam vs. The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle
Ever since SummerSlam, Rob Van Dam has taken Smackdown by storm as WWE Champion, turning back challenge after challenge to keep the Championship that many doubted he'd ever win. The Champion has proved to the doubters wrong - winning the Survivor Series Elimination Match at a 3 on 1 disadvantage, retaining the Championship in the demonic Elimination Chamber last month, and keeping his reign in tact through thick and thin - and still stands today as WWE Champion. However, there perhaps hasnt been a greater challenge for RVD than the one he faces this Sunday. This time, his challenge is two bonafide legends of the squared circle, in a match where Van Dam doesnt need to be involved in the decision to lose the title. Could this be one step too far for The Whole Damn Show?? Or will the ongoing war brewing between The Phenom and the Wrestling Machine erupt in Indianapolis, and allow RVD to keep the championship ... and once again, prove the doubters wrong??

World Heavyweight Championship Match:
Triple H vs. John Cena
Last month, The McMahon Family Empire, with help from Finlay and Brock Lesnar, helped Triple H to retain the title against Cena. This time, The Game will need to rely on himself and the Family to keep the championship around his waist, and hold off the challenge of the determined Cena, with Finlay, Lesnar and any other pawn at the McMahon Family Empires disposal all tied up with Royal Rumble duties. Cena posed a vital question this past Monday - Has The Game still got it?? And the question is certainly valid - Triple H has not retained the title fairly since becoming champion last October. Is Triple H beginning to decline?? Has John Cena got The Games number?? Is The Game ... over?? Triple H will have a lot to prove this Sunday, and one thing is for certain ... if he is to beat th challenger ... he'll have to earn it.

Cruiserweight Championship; 6 Man Tag Match:
The Mexicools vs. Kid Kash, Chavo Guerrero & Brian Kendrick
At Judgment Day in May, five of these six men competed in the exact same match, with the exact same teams. At that time, Kash & Kendrick were united in attempting to rid Smackdown of the invading Mexicools, and now, eight months down the line, they are united again with Chavo Guerrero, but this time it's to take the Cruiserweight Championship from the grips of the three man group ... but The Mexicool they face today are not the united trio of blood brothers they encountered in the late spring. Now, The Mexicools have been ripped apart by aspirations and greed, all for the Cruiserweight Championship. Can SuperCrazy trust Juvi & Psichosis this Sunday and keep the title?? Or will the united trio of Kash, Kendrick & Chavo put a final nail in the Mexicools coffin??

Intercontinental Championship Match:
Shelton Benjamin vs. Rey Mysterio
Two of the most exciting superstars on Raw will duke it out in Indianapolis for the much coveted Intercontinental Championship. Shelton Benjamin will be backed up by the ever present Brotherhood, but Mysterio will be fearless as ever, and hell bent on becoming a two time Intercontinental Champion. Expect high flying, expect crazy athleticism ... expect the unexpected, when Shelton Benjamin and Rey Mysterio collide and raise the bar ... and possibly the roof this Sunday.

Anymore predictions are welcomed...

Royal Rumble - This Sunday, January 18th

... Added questions for anyone that fancies a guess ...

1) Who will enter the Royal Rumble #1 & #2

2) Which superstar will draw #30

3) Who will be the mystery superstar??

4) Who will score the most eliminations in the Royal Rumble Match??

5) Name the 'Final Four' in the Royal Rumble Match

I'll be posting a final preview / possible spoilers thing on Saturday (much like the update I posted a day or two prior to WrestleMania 22 in this thread if anyone can remember back to then), and of course, The Royal Rumble in full on Sunday.

I'm gonna do all my reviewing tomorrow, so anyone that's posted a show in the last few days that I normally get around, expect a review by this time tomorrow.
