Re: Being the booker
RAW: 13th September 2004: Madison Square Garden:
Highlights Package of last nights Clash of the Champions event
J.R: We are live in the worlds most famous arena, for the first time since the historic Wrestle Mania XX. We are live in the Big Apple, New York City!!
King: The Big Apple, the city that never sleeps, and I guarantee you J.R, that last night, I know one man that didn’t sleep a wink, Mick Foley!!
J.R: That’s true King, last night, Randy Orton cost RAW the Clash of the Champions, when he blatantly RKO’d Shawn Michaels.
King: Randy Orton proved last night, that he isn’t a team player, but what will Mick Foley’s response be??
J.R: Well, Mick Foley has yet to be seen tonight, and you gotta wonder, just what has ran through the General managers mind over the last 24 hours.
Evolution hits, and we see Randy Orton. He makes his way to the ring and is given huge heat. He soaks it up and taunts the crowd. He gets on the mic and begins to talk.
“Last night, I did what I had to do. I said weeks ago, that I would do whatever it took to get Mick Foley in the ring. Now, I thought long and hard about how I could get Foley mad, and realised that the best way, would be to make him look a fool in front of his home town fans. I embarrassed Foley last night. I told him I wanted nothing to do with his RAW team, but he wouldn’t take no for an answer, - and neither will I!!
Mick Foley, when you get here, I will be waiting, and I want you to accept my challenge to a match at the next Pay Per View, Nemesis. I mean, how fitting would it be for me and you to settle our differences once and for all at the event known as Nemesis.
I want everyone to see you bleed at the hands of the Legend Killer, I want everyone to see that I am the real deal, and not just some punk kid, trying to make a name for himself. Don’t forget that I am still the youngest World Champion in this companies history, and you robbed me of the title.”
(The crowd begins a Foley chant.)
Orton then responds to the chants, “Mick aint here people, he’s running scared, I wish he was here too so I could look him in the eyes, and spit in his face.”
(Crowd goes berserk. They boo at Orton and begin an asshole chant.)
“Mick, don’t be a coward all your life, don’t walk away again. Be a man and accept my challenge. Accept my challenge tonight Mick.”
Orton then walks back up the ramp and we cut to the first commercial
Edge vs. Booker T
(Before the match begins, we are told that there is a ban on ringside.)
Finish: The two basically go at it with momentum changing back and forth throughout. Towards the end, they provide a number of false finishes, with countless pinning combinations, before Edge goes for the Edgeecution, but Booker counters, and hit’s a side kick, followed by a Scissors kick. He hit’s the Spin-a-roonie, and the cover, 1...2...3!! Booker wins. He celebrates in the ring and Edge staggers to the back.
Highlights package of Clash of the Champions.
We then cut back to King and J.R. They talk about Triple H’s involvement last night at COTC. They reveal that HHH has signed with Smackdown, and will be appearing on Thursday night.
Shawn Michaels interview. He talks firstly about Orton. He calls him a son of a bitch, and then talks about a Fatal Four way next week for the #1 Contenders Spot at Nemesis against, his other real team mates at COTC, RVD, Kane and Booker T.
We then hear Randy Orton talking on the phone with Evolution.
2nd Match: Women’s Championship Match:
Trish Stratus vs. Victoria
Finish: Trish works on the arm of Victoria for the most part of the match, but Victoria begins a fight back, and nails a DDT, she covers, 1...2...TRISH KICKS OUT!!! Victoria then goes for a Widow’s Peak, but Trish reverses and hit’s a Stratusfaction, 1...2...VICTORIA KICKS OUT!!!
Trish then goes for a Chick Kick, but Victoria ducks and rolls up Trish, but Trish rolls through and grabs the tights, 1...2...3!! TRISH STEALS IT!! She grabs her belt and gets away as quickly as she can.
Randy Orton struts around the backstage area and walks into Shawn Michaels. HBK stares hard into the face of Orton and then asks one of the backstage crew to spray some air freshener. He looks at Orton again and says, “It stinks in here” HBK walks off as Orton looks pretty angry.
Chris Jericho arrives at MSG to a great response.
Mc Mahon - Hart video airs for Survivor Series.
3rd Match: 6 Man Tag:
Rob Van Dam & Dudley Boys vs. Rhyno, Cade & Jindrak
Finish: The six break down into a brawl as the Dudley’s go at it with C&J, while RVD fights it out with Rhyno. Rhyno goes for a Gore, but RVD ducks and hit’s a spin kick. He then goes up top and hit’s the Five Star, 1...2...3!!! RVD wins. He celebrates in the ring with the Dudley’s as J.R and King say that RVD is on a roll going into next weeks Fatal Four Way.
Edge and Christian chat backstage. They talk about tonight’s defeat, but assure themselves that they are still the best tag team in the world today, and no one comes close, not even Booker T & Goldust.
We return with the camera focused in on the Jericho countdown, all the way to one. The World Champion enters, to a decent pop, and makes his way to the ring. He gets on the mic, and begins to talk.
“WELCOME, TO MADISON, SQUARE, JERICHO!!!!! And tonight, I’m here to just chill. To relax in the city that never sleeps, but that isn’t the Y2J way BAYBAY!! The World Champion shouldn’t be just relaxing, he should be in thick of the action. He should be performing every week on RAW, the greatest show on the history of cable television, for the greatest fans in the world.
Last Night, Chris Jericho took on Goldberg, the WWE Champion, in a Clash of the Champions match. Now, to be perfectly honest, I don’t count last nights win as a real victory, because of Triple H. Now Triple H has signed for Smackdown, he thought he would make an impact at last nights event. Now, why Triple H would ever, EEEVVVVVVVVVVVERRRRRR, want to be part of Smackdown is beyond me, I don’t understand. Maybe Triple H doesn’t feel the need for competition anymore, so he decided to take it easy, and crawl off to the minor leagues.
But Triple H, is a Smackdown guy now, and Chris Jericho, doesn’t have time for Smackdown, he only has time for RAW is JERICHO!!! And it’s on to Nemesis. And at Nemesis, I will be facing either, RVD, Shawn Michaels, Booker T, or Kane. No matter wh--
Kane’s pyro and music blasts into the arena, and we see the Big Red Monster. He makes his way to the ring and stands over Jericho. He takes a mic and begins to talk.
“You think, that it’s just that simple, huh. You think, that you will just brush aside the challenge that will pose you at Nemesis, ME!! Forget about the other three, prepare for KANE. Prepare to have your insides disected, and THAT Championship to come to MEEE!! Last night, I had to put aside my hatred for four team mates, but that was for one night only. Now, the REAL Kane is back, and I want your title.”
HBK’s music then hits. Michaels makes his way to the ring as he usually does with that cocky strut. He gets in the ring and takes a mic.
“So you think your special Kane. Just because you were able to team with people you hated. Let me tell you something pal, you’re nothing more than a jakked up nimrod. You think, that I didn’t have to put personal feelings aside last night. I had to tag with the man, who wanted me to never see my kids again, the man that wanted to end my career, now you tell me if that means something. And as for next week, don’t rule ANYBODY out, especially the old Heart Break Kid, Shawn Michaels”
Jericho then talks.
“Hey now, I didn’t mean to open any old wounds here, you guys just got a few things mixed up here, you see, I don’t write off any challenge, and if one of you two ends up becoming the #1 Contender, then best of luck.”
Jericho then leaves the ring while HBK and Kane stay in the ring staring at each other as we go to a commercial
Backstage, Booker T and Goldust chat. Goldust tells Booker that he is the man to walk out next week as the #1 Contender, and if Edge & Christian try to get involved, then he will be there for him.
Randy Orton vs. Spike Dudley
Finish: Orton dominates from the start, and toys with Spike for while, and looks to the entrance calling for Foley, as do the crowd, but he doesn’t show.
Orton then goes for a Mandible Claw, but Spike bites his hand, and goes for a Dudley Dog, but Orton counters into an RKO, 1...2...3. Orton picks up the simple win. He calls out Foley, but there is still no sign.
We return with J.R and King talking about tonight’s events so far, and preview next weeks Fatal Four Way.
Orton walks into his dressing room and tells himself that Foley will show. He picks up a trashcan full of weapons and smiles in a mirror.
5th Match: Intercontinental Championship Match:
Sting vs. Matt Morgan
Finish: Sting and Matt have a very even contest throughout, but as time wears on, Morgan gets the upper hand and begins to dominate the champion. He hit’s a Powerbomb, but surprisingly Sting manages to kick out. Morgan is upset and whips Sting off the ropes and hit’s a massive Spinebuster. 1...2...STING KICKS OUT AGAIN!!! Morgan is irate. He hit’s a Press Slam and covers, 1...2...KICK OUT!!!
Matt loses his temper. He goes to the outside and picks up a chair. He levels Sting and then is DQ. He hit’s the referee with the chair and then hits three officials as they try to calm him. He goes mad in the ring and leaves, leaving Sting and the officials down.
We quickly cut to the parking lot and the crowd goes wild as MICK FOLEY HAS ARRIVED. We see the GM walk into the building looking extremely angry, and ready for a fight.
Randy Orton makes his way to the ring with a trashcan full of weapons, ready for a brawl with Mick Foley.
He takes a microphone and is ready to talk, but immediately Mick Foley’s music plays and Foley walks to the ring with a purpose.
Orton starts to look a little worried and is ready to back out, but Foley enters the ring and the two men go punch for punch, but immediately, Foley gets the upper hand and beats down Orton in the corner. He gives the Bang bang signal to the crowd before running to the corner and driving the knee into Orton.
He empties the trashcan and hits Orton with it. He then pulls out Socko and signals to the crowd and they go berserk for him. He applies the Mandible Claw to Orton, but Orton hit’s a low blow. He then sets up Foley for the RKO, but Foley counters with a clothesline. Orton rolls out of the ring and tries to leave, but Foley stops him and suplexes him on the steel ramp. He then brings him ringside and whips him into the ring post. Orton tries to fight back, but Foley is in inspired form and keeps Orton down.
Foley then picks up the ring bell and clocks Randy around the head. Orton is busted wide open as Foley stands over him with a sadistic smile. He takes a microphone and gets into the ring.
Foley is ready to talk, but a Foley chant erupts in the Garden. It dies down and he begins to speak.
“Randy Orton, for the last month, you have been challenging me to face you in the ring, and every time you have, I have turned you down. But it seems like now the old saying, ‘Try and try again’ has worked for you. Over the last few weeks you have pushed the envelope. You attacked me, you attacked J.R, you’ve called me out, and you made a fool out of me in my home town last night. Last night, you pushed the envelope too far. Now another old saying comes to mind, and that’s “Be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it’. And boy oh boy, Randy Orton you will get what you want. It will be like all your Christmases and Thanksgivings rolled into one. It will be the ultimate gift. You challenged me to a match at Nemesis. Well, it seems to me that that Pay Per View name is the most aptly named, because Randy Orton you have your wish. On October 17th, you will learn a lesson that you were never taught in school, and that is to respect, and be respected. Randy Orton, you have Mick Foley, one on one, in a STREETFIGHT!!! Oh and Randy, HAVE A NICE DAY!!
We end the show with Mick Foley walking up the ramp signalling to the crowd with the Bang Bang signal, and Randy Orton is still left motionless covered in blood.
