Great to see Christian and Tomko start the show, and looking to see some nice comments from them. Loved the way he ran down the smackdown roster, which would have been exactly what he would do, before Austin comes out. Great stuff between Austin and Christian, with some great lines to be honest, and this was one of the best promos I have seen in a long time with the right mix of humour and seriousness, and I can only presume that it will be Christian’s night at Mania

Haas gets the win which makes sense, tieing the two team up, and it will be a good face vs. face contest, which will be one of the better wrestling matches on the show.

JBL puts himself over in the fashion that he normally does, and the interview gave a bit more heat on himself by reminding us what he has done in the past. If Hardy does beat him, then it is a massive win for Hardy

Lesnar gets a squash win, just to make him look dominant before this Sunday, which makes sense. This time, a squash worked well

Okay promo from Shane and HHH, but this feud hasn’t got my attention like a lot of the others on the card, and does feel a bit rushed, but obviously Shane will do some insane spots in the match to make it good. Thinking we are going to see a Vince appearance, and maybe Stephanie as well

JBl once again cannot pin Matt, as he has to get himself counted out. Great to see Hardy with all the momentum, and to be honest, he has been booked as if he has JBL’s number

Loved the Heymand and Brock promo, which just makes sure that everyone knows that Brock is the dominant man on Smackdown, and isn’t going to lose, but I think a Benoit win is likely to happen

Rock is interrupted straight away by HBK, who has come alone tonight. Rock runs down HBK and DX, before HBK briefly acts face, but then turns heel again by saying he doesn’t need DX to beat the Rock. HBK goes it alone at Mania then… Strong promo here from both men, and very interesting to see it staged so that HBK was arguably the face in that promo, which maybe hinting at a heel turn from the Rock soon

Jericho beats Kanyon, and then Taker does one of his typical videos, but Jericho doesn’t appear to be bothered by it. Jericho has had the build to make him look as if he can beat Taker, but it wont happen, seeing as Taker will never lose at Mania

Bret and Angle promo was short, but effective, and it will be interesting to see how that match is booked, as it isn’t going to be the wrestling classic that one would think it would be. Had more intensity than a lot of the promos tonight, and they all have been strong

Brief Benoit promo, before he beats Maven in the main event to end the show. Benoit looks to be strong heading into Wrestlemania, and as the main event, this needed to end the show.

WWE Championship Match:
WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar vs. 2006 Royal Rumble Winner, Chris BenoitBenoit won the royal rumble, and the booking of that match suggests that it is now time for him to finally win the title. Cant see Lesnar leaving the show as the champion, and you are a huge Benoit fan, so he wins

World Heavyweight Championship Match:
John Cena vs. Randy Orton II – You know what I think about Orton, so on that basis, I’m leaning towards Cena as he is infinitely more talented, but I also feel that they way this has been booked means there isn’t enough momentum for Orton to take the belt, as Cena has owned him throughout this feud

United States Championship Match:
John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield vs. Matt Hardy – A win for Hardy would be huge, but it appears just too obvious that he will win, and JBL needs a big win to get back to where he was. Hardy will win the title, but a main event on Smackdown would be better than on a packed Wrestlemania in the undercard

Money in the Bank & Intercontinental Championship; Roll of the Dice Match:
- 1: ELIMINATION MATCH - 2: LADDER MATCH - 3: LAST MAN STANDING - 4: QUINTET FREE FOR ALL - 5: STEEL CAGE MATCH - 6: SUBMISSION MATCH
Carlito vs. Edge vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Mr. Kennedy Edge wins the MITB, as he is the only one of the 5 I can see winning the title soon, plus he could do with it as he has been pushed as a heel on the verge of breaking into the main event. Kennedy seems to be the logical choice to win the IC belt, as Carlito is going to drop it, Rey had it before, and he appears to be being pushed more thsn RVD

WWE Tag Team Champions vs. World Tag Team Champions:
America’s Most Wanted vs. The Worlds Greatest Tag Team – I can see Shelton and Haas breaking up soon, so a loss at Wrestlemania may start it. Plus, Smackdown needs to win one of the interpromotional matches

Women’s Championship Match:
Trish Stratus vs. Shaniqua – Trish overcomes the odds again and gets the upset win, proving she is the best female in the business

Inter promotional Match:
Christian vs. ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin – Christian just has to win if he is to go into the main event, which is where this is heading I feel. The way he has been built up means this is a must win match for him, and I can even see him winning clean to make him look even better

Inter promotional Match:
Chris Jericho vs. The UndertakerIt’s Wrestlemania, it’s a win for Taker… shame it is really, as otherwise Jericho has had the perfect build to beat him

Icon vs. Icon:
Shawn Michaels vs. The Rock – The way that promo on Smackdown went made me change my mind, as before that, I was on the Rock. But something hit me to suggest that it is leading to an HBK win. Don’t know why I think this, but I just do.

Match of the Millennium:
Kurt Angle vs. Bret Hart – Angle won’t lose to Hart, and shouldn’t do so, as it would kill his credibility if he did really. Guess he ends the career of Hart, and goes back towards the title and another match with Benoit

Six Man Tag Match:
Hulk Hogan, Mick Foley & Rhyno vs. Ric Flair, Batista & Nick Dinsmore – Hogan wont lose at Wrestlemania, Foley needs the revenge on Flair, as does Rhyno, so where better than Wrestlemania to get it? Although Evolution has the better tag team in terms of being together, the faces have Hogan

No Disqualifications:
Triple H vs. Shane McMahon – HHH has to win this, even though Shane will bring some back up with him. HHH needs a win, and then a big feud to get him back to where he was before… or maybe a switch back to Raw which I could see happening if there is another draft

1) What Match Will Open The Show?? – AMW vs. WGTT is the logical choice, but face vs. face isn’t an opening match. Therefore, it will be JBL vs. Hardy (more likely), or the 6 man tag

2) What will be the biggest shock of the night?? – Probably an appearance from someone you don’t expect, or a clean win from a major heel

3) What will be the match of the night?? – Benoit vs. Lesnar

4) How many shock appearances (if any) will there be?? – Vince will probably show up, as well as the obligatory debut/return/random appearance from someone you don’t expect

5) How many titles will change hands?? 2

6) Who will be involved in the biggest spot of the night, and if you have an idea, what will the spot be?? – It will happen in the 5 way match, probably when the ladders come into play – don’t know what it will be though

7) Where will next years Wrestle Mania be?? (TBA at the show - Shortlist; London, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Cleveland, Memphis) – London is the only one of the list that deserves a Wrestlemania

WWE News and Notes:

The entire WWE has taken over Vegas this weekend. The company held two matches this afternoon as a warm up for the fans at the Orelans Arena, in attendance for the Hall of Fame ceremony later in the evening.

The DX Trio (Cade, Jindrak and Reigns) defeated Booker T, Goldust and The Hurricane in a fun six man tag match, and Kid Kash defeated Tajiri to retain the Cruiserweight Title. Both matches will be on the WM 22 DVD, and a Battle Royal will also make the DVD, which is set to be filmed tomorrow night prior to Wrestle Mania.

The Hall of Fame ceremony itself went down extremely well, with some stirring speeches, as well as emotional ones. A video package is set to air tomorrow night, and the Hall of Famers are likely to make their obligitory appearance too.

Meanwhile, tomorrow night looks set to be the last appearance Bret Hart will make with the company. He hasnt signed an extension to his contract, after brief talks took place. It's been said that Hart beleives he has accomplished everything he can, and can do no more now. Whether his exit will be revealed at WM is unknown.

Expect Eric Bischoff to once again take over as General Manager on Raw. It was announced two weeks ago that both Hogan and Flair had been stripped of their duties, and with Eric having been off screen for the best part of six months after an unexplained split from his former protege, Matt Morgan. He appears the only likely candidate to get the role at this moment.

Spoilers which would indicate winners coming out of Wrestle Mania are rather unclear in upcoming house show line ups, as both Raw and Smackdown are promoting triple threat matches as main events, with John Cena vs Randy Orton vs Christian running at many Raw house shows, whilst Brock Lesnar vs Chris Benoit vs The Rock is being advertised on Smackdown. No one is being billed as champion either, with both Cenas and Ortons names switching as top billing, as they have with Lesnar and Benoit.

A draft lottery is being touted for the April 3rd Raw, which USA have awarded a Three Hour time slot. The show will be coming from London, England.

As for any rumours regarding London hosting WrestleMania - those can now be put to rest, as it appears London will not be staging WrestleMania any time soon. Too many complications have been cited as reasons for this, although the WWE is keen on staging a major PPV at Wembley at some point.

It's now down to Memphis, Minneapolis and New Orelans to stage next years event, with none of the three cities having hosted the event previously.

------------

Anyways, I'm right up to the main event now. It'll be a close push to get the match done by Thursday, but I'm confident I'll do it. The whole thing is handwritten out, it's just a matter of me putting that information onto my computer screen.

As for the voting for the WM Commercial - voting closes tomorrow. Right now (at least IMO) there is a shock leader, as I expected one video to actually sprint clear, but at this moment it's sitting in second spot.
The five commercials have so far polled (from lowest to highest %)
10%, 15%, 22.5%, 25.83%, 26.67%

Last chance for anyone to vote is now

-------------------

I'll not be posting a WM preview unfortunately, as I really wanted to, but I'll be posting backstage news and rumours on Wednesday, with the rumours set about two hours before the actual show. I'll not be posting any pre-show before WM, as I just want to have the event, and nothing more.

Wednesday - News and Rmours set prior to WM.

Thursday - Approx. 7PM GMT - WRESTLEMANIA 22

I expected Christian and Tomko in Las Vegas to easily run away with the awards. I am surprised that they are so close.

You are basically taking the WWE's schedule for the Wrestlemania week and making it your own, I like that, and I am anticipating the Hall of Fame Ceremony highlights because you have some unique inductees.

A shame Bret is leaving but it seems the right time for him to do so. Hopefully this match will be one for the ages and will bow him out in style. Some of the other spoilers are good and i cant wait to see some of the matches at Mania.

- I have no doubt you will deliver and like i said on MSN. I will review the show and have it done by the end of the month

I liked the casino one. 'THREE JUICY MELONS'

Nice news and notes there. Thanks for not giving us any help with the title matches. Pfftt...anyway Bischoff as GM should be a nice change of pace after a couple of biased runs by Flair and Hogan. Looking forward to Mania Wolfy.
