Winner = The fact that Benoit has never been World Champion in your thread and the constant mentions of his failure to win the big one lead me to think he is going to Wrestlemania 22.

World Heavyweight Championship Match:
John Cena vs. The Undertaker

Winner = Cena just got the belt and doesn’t look like being a transitional champion. Plus there are more possibilities for the Mania main event with Cena as Champ than The Undertaker.

WWE Championship Match:
Brock Lesnar vs. Chris Jericho

Winner = Same thing should apply here because Lesner hasn’t been WWE Champion for that long. I also prefer to see Lesner as the Champ and so hope he retains.

World Tag Team Championships Match:
The World’s Greatest Tag Team vs. The Brotherhood

Winner = The Brotherhood’s push has come along nicely and a Title win would top it all off.

Retirement Match: Streetfight:
FIRST TIME - LAST TIME - ONLY TIME
Stone Cold’ Steve Austin vs. Goldberg

Winner = Austin is going on to face Christian at Wrestlemania so he will win here. Also it wouldn’t be right for such a WWE legend to retire at the Royal Rumble.

Legends Battle Royal: (For Spot in Royal Rumble Match):
Jim Neidhart, Tatanka, Irwin R. Schyster, Marty Jannetty, Road Warrior Animal, Jake Roberts, Dusty Rhodes, Kamala, Jerry Lawler, Jim Duggan.

Winner = No idea at all. I’ll just guess and say Road Warrior Animal

And, will Bret Hart sign the contract to face Kurt Angle???

Yes, I predict Angle turns Heel and forces Bret to sign.

I don't know who, but either The Rock or Randy Orton will win the Rumble. I just bolded The Rock, but Orton has just as much of a chance.

Re: Being The Booker

Nice to see London get in the rumble, and seeing the way you have pushed him in the past, I think he will get an early number followed by a long run

Hart has the night off to think about his decision. Nice way to further the angle, and with Neidhart as temp-gm, the legends battle royal is promoted

HHH and Snitsky on the same page?

JBL attacks the Cabinet, and brings up DX??? Potentially some kind of faction battle in the future coming, or just JBL not wanting to be alone in the rumble

Good win for Goldberg, giving him a win going into the rumble

Angle hypes the contract signing, which has to be done, and it looks as if everyone wants the match to happen

AMW are in the rumble as well, but I don’t see them being anything more than jobbers really

Jericho gets a win over Morgan, which again gives him some momentum going to the ppv, only for Lesnar to take him out afterwards

Benoit wins the battle royal, which is great for him giving him some momentum, but it makes me rethink my pick of him for the rumble. But you could be throwing in the double bluff here, so I don’t know what to think

Predictions:

30 Man Royal Rumble:
Winner has automatic shot at EITHER brand’s Champion at WrestleMania XXII:
Entrants in Alphabetical order;
Batista, Booker T, Carlito, Chavo Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Chris Harris, Chris Masters, Christian, Edge, Eugene, Garrison Cade, Gene Snitsky, Goldust, James Storm, John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield, Luther Reigns, Mark Jindrak, Matt Hardy, Matt Morgan, Maven, Mr. Kennedy, Paul London, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Rob Van Dam,Shawn Michaels, Simon Dean, The Rock, Triple H, Winner of Legends Battle Royal - Even though Benoit stood tall after Smackdown, i still think he wins the rumble. Just a hunch i have, with him finally getting his chance to take the title

World Heavyweight Championship Match:
John Cena vs. The Undertaker - Cena retains, in the lock of the card. Taker doesnt need the belt at this point in time, and isnt the man to hold it into mania

WWE Championship Match:
Brock Lesnar vs. Chris Jericho - Jericho's time to take the belt is coming, and he will be the better man on the run into mania with the belt. I just see him taking the title to be honest

World Tag Team Championships Match:
The World’s Greatest Tag Team vs. The Brotherhood - Theyve only had the belts a few weeks, so i think they retain them here, in the notional opener for the ppv match

Retirement Match: Streetfight:
FIRST TIME - LAST TIME - ONLY TIME
‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin vs. Goldberg - Austin vs. Christian has been hyped for a long time, and i see that happening at Mania. Goldberg has done as much as he can i think, you i see him losing

Legends Battle Royal: (For Spot in Royal Rumble Match):
Jim Neidhart, Tatanka, Irwin R. Schyster, Marty Jannetty, Road Warrior Animal, Jake Roberts, Dusty Rhodes, Kamala, Jerry Lawler, Jim Duggan. - A guess really

And, will Bret Hart sign the contract to face Kurt Angle??? NO - I'm going out on a limb here and saying no, as i think the angle has a bit more to run before the contract is signed, with Angle having to do more to Hart to get it to happen, and turning heel. The only way Hart signs the contract, is if Angle beats him down and signs it in Hart's own blood

Re: Being The Booker

Official Preview for WWE Royal Rumble:

Date:
22nd January 2006
Location: Madison Square Garden; New York City, New York
Event Music: Adema, Sevenfold

30 Man Royal Rumble:
Winner has automatic shot at EITHER brand’s Champion at WrestleMania XXII:
Entrants in Alphabetical order;

Batista - This will be The Animals fourth consecutive Royal Rumble Match, and with previous experience in the contest, along with the guidance of Raw General Manager, This huge competitor has to be seen as a major force to be reckoned with.

Booker T - A former 5 time WCW Champion, but has never reached that type of high in the WWE. Appears to have waned slightly in recent years, but on one incredible night, anything can happen.

Carlito - The Intercontinental Champion heads into his first ever Royal Rumble, on a roll as of late. He has youth, agility, and the potential to possibly cause an upset, and force his way into an unlikely Champion vs. Champion, Wrestle Mania Main Event

Chavo Guerrero - A definite outsider, but with so many over looking the youngest of the historic Guerrero family, Chavo may well spring a surprise or two.

Chris Benoit - The perennial under-achiever. Chris Benoit has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory on many occasions in his twenty year career, twice named WWE Champion, only to have the decision reversed. As of late, The Wolverine has been on a mighty roll, and picked up a huge pre Rumble win on Smackdown. But the question remains - Will Benoit stumble at the final fence once again??

Chris Harris - An unlikely winner, but a solid showing could forge the opportunity for The Wildcat to possibly break out as a singles star, away from James Storm.

Chris Masters - Surely too much to ask from this up and coming kid. He has the physique, but lacks the big match experience. A good showing will steer The Masterpiece towards becoming a star, but victory would be too much to ask this year.

Christian - Undoubtedly the breakout star of 2005. Christian holds 4 consecutive pinfall wins over The Undertaker, has gotten in the face of Steve Austin on numerous occasions, and has come within hairs breadth of becoming World Champion on more than one occasion. Captain Charisma goes into Madison Square Garden as one of the favourites to reach the Wrestle Mania main event.

Edge - The Rated R Superstar is one big win away from becoming main event material, and Edge has pin pointed the Royal Rumble on Sunday as his crowning moment. His new attitude has helped him become more focused in recent weeks, and a win over Randy Orton on Raw will boost his confidence. Another expected to go close to the wire.

Eugene - Barely scraped in, earning his spot in a Battle Royal this week on Raw. If he approaches the match seriously, Eugene may just take a few by surprise, especially if he was to draw a late number.

Garrison Cade - Earmarked as a future break out star, ‘HB-Cade’ has become a force to be reckoned with on Raw, under the guidance of DX leader, Shawn Michaels. Up until now, Cade has been mainly a tag team wrestler with Mark Jindrak as part of the DX Duo, but a strong run in the Royal Rumble might just change that. Not considered a dark horse though, given the explicit instructions from DX leader, Shawn Michaels.

Gene Snitsky - A late number draw would help Snitsky a great deal. Big men have historically fared well in the Royal Rumble, but if Snitsky enters early, he’s unlikely to last the distance.

Goldust - Past his best, but on any given night, this wily veteran could make some heads turn. Like many others, would be suited to draw a late number.

James Storm - See Chris Harris

John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield - Had the remaining three members of The Cabinet qualified for the contest, JBL would be a serious contender, and possibly the favourite to win the match. Without them, The United States Champion will need to rely on his own savvy to reach his intended goal of a Wrestle Mania main event featuring Champion vs. Champion. Still a threat, no matter what.

Luther Reigns - The muscle behind DX is likely to be Shawn Michaels barricade for the duration of the contest, but should Reigns find himself an opportunity to go solo, expect a strong showing.

Mark Jindrak - See Garrison Cade and Luther Reigns.

Matt Hardy - Version One has been brewing under the surface for a very long time on Smackdown, and is a definite dark horse to go the distance. Can hold his own against anyone, and with the nature of the Rumble, Hardy stands a good chance of causing a massive upset.

Matt Morgan - Big and strong, but hasn’t been too impressive in recent times, failing to impress since his switch to Smackdown last year. Could be one to watch for his size and power advantages alone, but isnt likely to be a major force.

Maven - Maven is quite possibly one of the most unlikely winners. Should he try and keep quiet, he may bubble under the surface for a while, but if he is to run his mouth, Maven will likely be heading for the showers much earlier than expected.

Mr. Kennedy - Undefeated, but still largely unknown. Could be a chance to make a name for himself on the big stage as a player for the future, but with the list of former winners, and former champions, along with veterans, it will likely be too much to ask from this relative rookie.

Paul London - Another underdog, but one that can hang with the best. Paul London was one second away from becoming WWE Champion last fall, and has went the distance with Triple H previously. One to watch for, and could be one to go a long time, with unmatched stamina. Potential winner?? Not likely.

Randy Orton - One of, if not, the favourite to reach the Wrestle Mania main event. The youngest World Champion ever, will have the opportunity to become the youngest Rumble winner of all time. Orton though, despite all his credentials, and big match experience, has never competed in a Rumble Match, which may go against him, and will his loss to Edge last Monday play on his mind??

Rey Mysterio - The Dark Horse. Mysterio could go the distance, and has proved in the past that he can match up to, and beat the best there is to offer. Had a lengthy run through the majority of 2005 as Intercontinental Champion, which has cemented his place as a big name. Is 2006 the year of Mysterio??

Rob Van Dam - Has hit a slump recently, having gotten off to a fairly poor start in 2006. RVD has experience in previous Royal Rumble matches, and needs a good showing to keep his name in amongst the big names on Raw. Another dark horse that should never be counted out.

Shawn Michaels - A solid favourite for many reasons. HBK has previously won The Rumble twice, albeit ten years ago, but Michaels has proven he is just as good as he ever was, reaching the top of the mountain last year once again. Has been an inspirational leader of DX through 2005, but the group don’t appear to be quite on the same level recently, with many questioning whether DX will follow the instructions of the man who have brought them to the dance, or go it alone. If DX play the loyal servants, Michaels will be unbeatable … if not, HBK will be vunerable. And, should The Rock and Michaels collide in the match … expect fireworks, and all bets will be off.

Simon Dean - Not much will be expected from Simon Dean, but the creator of the Simon System might spring a surprise, should he and Chris Masters draw numbers close to each other.

The Rock - The Great One has been there, and done that before. The Rock though, wants to do it once more, and plans on doing it at The Royal Rumble. Another favourite to win, but as said with Michaels, should they meet during the match - all bets will be off.

Triple H - Major contender. The Game has made no secret that he will jump to Raw on Monday Night, should he win the Thirty Man Match, and take full advantage of the stipulations of choosing which champion to face at Wrestle Mania, favouring a match with Cena or The Undertaker. The last time Triple H featured in the match, he won. Will fortune favour Triple H on Sunday??

Winner of Legends Battle Royal - Whomever it is, he has to be considered a real outsider. Having to compete earlier in the show will wear the legend out, and stamina will be a crucial factor in the Royal Rumble match.

World Heavyweight Championship Match:
John Cena vs. The Undertaker
There arent many times that a champion goes into a Championship as the underdog, but this Sunday, John Cena will be in that situation as he defends the World Championship against The Undertaker. Cena has beaten many top drawer superstars over the course of his two title reigns, and even holds a victory over The Undertaker over two years ago, but at this moment in time, Cena doesn’t appear to be able to contain The Deadman.
The Undertaker has already won the psychological battle running up to this championship match, and it’s likely he will also dominate the physical battle too, despite the heart and lack of fear shown by the unconquerable World Champion. If Cena is to pull out the victory, he will cement his place at the top of the WWE roster for many years to come, but the deck is stacked, and it’s in the challengers favour.

WWE Championship Match:
Brock Lesnar vs. Chris Jericho
On November 22nd, Brock Lesnar scooped his fourth WWE Championship on a special Tuesday night edition of Smackdown, and ever since has built up a tonne of momentum, retaining the title against The Rock, and picking up wins over other big name superstars.
However, Chris Jericho has been building up momentum of his own in recent months, earning his title shot by coming through a gruelling Gauntlet Match at Fully Loaded, not to mention a recent victory over former WWE champion, Goldberg. It will not be the first meeting between the two men, with previous history bringing the two together at last years Great American Bash, in a match won by Lesnar, taking advantage over an injured Y2J.
Now, the playing field is even, with Jericho beating Lesnar on more than one occasion verbally … is it time for Jericho to win the physical battle?? It’s the classic battle of David and Goliath, Speed vs. Power. Which will rule the day in the Garden??

World Tag Team Championships Match:
The World’s Greatest Tag Team vs. The Brotherhood
For The Brotherhood, it’s a date with destiny this Sunday. This is their Wrestle Mania according to Theodore Long, with Championship gold his Holy Grail. After weeks, and months of complaining about being overlooked through Raw, The Brotherhood have the opportunity to finally seize gold, and cement their place as a major force on Monday Night Raw. In their way are the determined, and aptly named Worlds Greatest Tag Team.
Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin have begun their fifth reign as tag champions terrifically, overcoming any and all challengers thus far. And, having waited for six months to get their hands back on the titles, they wont be willing to release the belts at this point in time. Something has to give this Sunday, with one team set to be extremely disappointed.

Retirement Match: Streetfight:
‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin vs. Goldberg
A match, nearly six months in the making, or to be looked at in the bigger picture - a match eight years in the making. For Goldberg to lock horns with Austin is a dream match enough, but add in the Retirement stipulation, and you have the ingredients for a match for the ages. Fans have anxiously waited nearly a decade for this one match to finally happen, and now after all the talk, the action is set to commence. For one man, his career ends at Madison Square Garden, but for the other, he unquestionably goes down in the annals of time, truly a legendary icon. It’s the first time … it’s the last time … it’s the only time that Goldberg meets Steve Austin. And one will never been seen again.

Legends Battle Royal: (For Spot in Royal Rumble Match):
Jim Neidhart, Tatanka, Irwin R. Schyster, Marty Jannetty, Road Warrior Animal, Jake Roberts, Dusty Rhodes, Kamala, Jerry Lawler, Jim Duggan.
Take your pick, as former world champions, legendary characters, and some of the most gifted wrestlers of all time collide for one last crack at the big time this Sunday, for the winner earns a place in the 30 Man Royal Rumble. The first ever Rumble winner, Jim Duggan competes, against former AWA Champion Jerry Lawler, NWA Champion Dusty Rhodes, and World Tag Team Champions such as Jim Neidhart and Road Warrior Animal. Expect to relive the wrestling wonder years, as nostalgia gets to be showcased inside Madison Square Garden one last time.

And, will Bret Hart sign the contract to face Kurt Angle??
It’s the biggest decision of Bret Harts life this Sunday. Has Kurt Angle done enough to convince the Smackdown General Manager that he can compete one last time?? Or will Bret Hart remain firm on his stance, and refuse to give Kurt Angle the dream match he, and the WWE fans crave so much.
This entire scenario has built up since May of last year, and finally on January 22nd, the teasing, the prodding, and pestering comes to an end. Will one magic night inside the World Most Famous Arena convert the mind set of Bret Hart?? Or will the hopes and wishes of the fans, and especially Kurt Angle, be dashed once and for all??

Great preview for the Royal Rumble, I am really looking forward to it. This should be good. I have 3 matches I am looking forward to the most which are Cena vs. Taker, Austin vs. Goldberg, and the Royal Rumble.
