Hate to do this but just got back and I'm tired. However school will be out after tomorrow and I'll probably get a review tomorrow. Seems like a good last show before the Royal Rumble though for Raw.

A nice opening match to start the show, Eugene gets the win after eliminating both Mark Henry and Tyson Tomko. Will be intresting to see how far Eugene gets in the Rumble.

Great promo here with Christian with some great lines, and he sounds very confident he will go to Mania.

A good Divas match here with Trish getting the win via DQ after T Long interfered. I see these two facing each other again in the near future.

Good promo here and i liked the ending of it with Carlito saying Marc is cool before coming back and spitting in his face.

An unsuprising and dominating win here for Batista. No doubt on who the winner would of been and was probally just a match to get Batista over.

Another great promo here, with some great lines. Nice fonrantation between the two and and it will be intresting to see how they fare out in the Rumble.

Good match here and a nice ending with Carlito pinning Booker T just after he had the Frog Splash hit on him from RVD.

Good promo here showing Cena does not fear the Deadman. Taker comes out and says Cena will fail at the Rumble. Good buildup to the match at the Rumble, and i can't wait to see it.

Great main event and a big pinfall victory for Edge pinning his nemesis Randy Orton. A great aftermath with all the Rumble participants brawling.

Overall it was an Awesome show, which builded Raw's main feuds into Rumble very well. The Royal Rumble has a great card and i can't wait to see it up.

What a joke, I can so see Rhyno turning into an even bigger face and getting a bigger role on RAW after the Rumble, Flair is a true asshole

HA! Eugene wins, getting rid of the dump truck and the goat at the same time. Will be interesting to see how Eugene fairs in the RR match

Hmm, Christian may do well, but I can't see him winning the Rumble. I'm seeing Rock or Orton winning

The Brotherhood had a chance for some gold there, and they threw it away when Long assaulted Trish. Odd, and I don't know where this leaves the Womens title picture

LOL, nice Carlito interview, suckering Lloyd that he won't spit in his face, then doing it anyways

Meh, if Batista does win the Rumble, I'll have trouble reading this thread again on the RAW side, although, I know you enough to think you won't have him win it..... I hope

Orton & Edge will definately go at it at WM, I can sense it. It's been building well for a while, and it just needs a solid further buildup and it'll be a sweet match. If that happens of course.....

Funny promo from Kennedy and DX, Kennedy was used extremely well here, very funny lines. And again someone tries to create desencion in the ranks of DX

Good triple threat matchand obvious that Carlito would win it, it gives RVD & Booker some exposure before the Rumble, I feel both have been discarded by you on RAW and they could both do with a draft to SD! to keep their careers afloat

Taker won't beat Cena, or will he? It's hard to predict, it'll be a big match either way

Terrific main event and a top aftermath with everyone left brawling, the RR match will be HUGE and I can't wait

Great show Wolf 9/10

Just some comments Wolf Guy.

Nice, little match to give the low card people a match in the rumble. Eugene gains revenge on the Brotherhood and he is in the rumble as a joke.

Keep rolling, rolling, rolling! Undertaker’s theme, but Christian uses this roll thing well, great interview.

Double gold for Carlito? I do not think so. By the way, I am sure it is Stacy Keibler, not Stacey Keibler.

I wonder if Batista will have an advantage by being Flair’s number one man.

Hahaha, great segment between Mr. Kennedy … Kennedy and HBK. He is a star. Oh man, that has to be the best promo of the month. Nothing laugh – out – loud hilarious, but Kennedy just owned the whole quartet of Degeneration X.

I did not expect a title change before the Rumble, but there were some close calls.

This is a face and face match up, but I think someone is going to turn heel during the match, and the person who does will be the champion, and then he will face the face winner from Raw, which will probably Randy Orton.

Whoa, one heck of a main event! That must have been twenty minutes long! Great stuff from both the heels and the faces. I never really saw that the faces had a good chance to win though. Edge and Christian pretty much dominated their way through the whole match. Great to see those two on a team, though Orton and Mysterio is sort of a dream team for me. Edge and Christian are rolling into the rumble, but I do not see either rolling out. I would not really hesitate to say Christian, seeing that he has had an absolute monster push.

Aftermath was exciting! Edge and Christian were typical in walking out, but Degeneration X made their earlier segment look obsolete. They stand tall. Maybe their plan is to look like they are separating, but they are not. Ah, who knows the possibilities! This is going to be a great Royal Rumble. I have a week left of school and then a week of exams, but I will have a nice review for you for the Royal Rumble.

I know it is not a full review, but best I could do on vacation.

By the way, how come Undertaker is never in Royal Rumbles?

Default Re: Being The Booker

I'll post the Smackdown recap today, rather than tomorrow, just to leave a little bit more time before posting RR on Friday. No Heat or Velocity results this week, with those shows being used to build up the Rumble instead this week.

-------

Smackdown;
January 19th, Richmond:

The show opens up right away with a 6 Man Free For All, Non Title Cruiserweight Match, for a spot in the Royal Rumble. Jamie Noble, Billy Kidman, Tajiri, Spike Dudley, Paul London and Akio battle it out, and with everyone coming close to victory, it’s Paul London who wins out, and earns a spot in the Royal Rumble, pinning the Cruiserweight Champion himself, Jamie Noble, with an inside cradle.

Classic Royal Rumble Moment - John Cena wins the 2005 Royal Rumble, making him only one of four men to win the Rumble in back to back years.

We find out that Bret Hart has requested the night off, in order to be able to think over his decision at the Royal Rumble this Sunday, which leaves his former tag team partner as stand in GM for the night - Jim Neidhart. The Anvil doesnt do much on the show, but gets his face on camera long enough to give Cole and Tazz a reason to talk about the legends battle royal this Sunday, which features Neidhart.

Backstage, Triple H chats with Gene Snitsky, about making a pact for tonight in the 8 Man Mini Rumble, and again this Sunday at The Royal Rumble itself. Snitsky nods, and agrees. Then, as Triple H leaves, Snitsky mumbles to himself, ‘tonight maybe … but not on Sunday’

In their locker room, The Cabinet berate Jamie Noble for losing his shot at being in the Royal Rumble. JBL especially is irate, and even slaps the Cruiserweight Champion around the back of the head, before demanding The Bashams win tonight and get three quarters of The Cabinet in The Rumble on Sunday.

Goldberg defeats Hardcore Holly in an old fashioned slugfest. After the match, he and Steve Austin share a long war of words, but nothing earth shattering, just giving their epic encounter one last push for Sunday.

Backstage, Brock Lesnar paces up and down the corridor, on tenterhooks, with Paul Heyman trying to calm him. Lesnar tells Heyman he wants Jericho taken care of tonight, and Heyman responds, telling him its all in control.

Kurt Angle, via video link, talks about the contract signing this Sunday, and tells us about the 650,000 petition signees on wwe.com, wanting Hart to sign the contract at The Rumble. Then, in one last statement, Angle confidently says Bret Hart WILL sign the contract.

In another Non Title Match, between four tag teams, The Champions, Danny and Doug Basham, The Dudley Boys, AMW and The Un-American duo of Regal and Lance Storm battle it out in a One Fall scenario. In the end, The Cabinet fails once again, as AMW nail the Death Sentence on William Regal, to pick up the decisive three count, sending the former champions into this Sundays Royal Rumble.

Chris Jericho is interviewed backstage, concerning his title shot against Brock Lesnar at The Royal Rumble. Jericho makes fun of Lesnar, then gets serious, and talks about his quest for Wrestle Mania, as his legacy has not quite been fully carved out.

After a commercial, JBL berates his men, leaving him alone at The Royal Rumble this Sunday. His three partners apologise for screwing up tonight, whilst JBL goes off on a tangent about DX not letting HBK down like this.

Chris Jericho faces Matt Morgan, and picks up a pretty good win over the near seven footer, gaining a submission win with the Walls of Jericho. After the match, Brock Lesnar attacks the #1 Contender, blasting Chris Jericho with the WWE Championship belt before leaving Jericho flat out in the ring.

In an interview with The Rock, The Great One cuts a pretty wild promo on both the Raw and Smackdown superstars in The Royal Rumble, making fun of pretty much everyone, especially HBK. He says tonight, he’ll show the world what to expect this Sunday, and then on Sunday, he’s booking a first class ticket to Wrestle Mania.

The main event takes place, with Triple H and Paul London (pulling double duty), drawing #1 & #2. They battle it out for sixty seconds, before we get the #3 Entry, Chris Benoit. All three men survive that sixty second interval, before Gene Snitsky enters at #4. Snitsky and The Game look to team up, but Benoit and London smartly stick together, and draw out the sixty seconds, before Maven enters at Number 5.

Maven helps out The Game and Snitsky, and with a 3 on 2 advantage, they manage to dump out Paul London, with Snitsky booting London over the top rope, to the floor, putting him out. Benoit though, survives the sixty seconds, before the #6 entry, Matt Hardy sprints to the ring, looking to make an impact.

Hardy comes in, all guns blazing, nailing a Twist of Fate on Snitsky, before getting caught with a Pedigree from Triple H. Triple H is then given the German Suplex hat trick treatment from Chris Benoit, whilst Maven dumps out a lifeless Hardy, causing a slight shock.

#7 to enter is The Rock, but for the duration of the sixty seconds, no eliminations occur, as things slow down, with JBL entering last, at #8. The six men struggle in the ring for a few minutes, with all of them managing to hang on, until The Rock low bridges a running Gene Snitsky, sending him out of the ring, whilst moments later, Chris Benoit dumps Maven out, leaving four.

JBL, The Rock, Benoit and Triple H fight it out, with no allies, no friends, and plenty of backstabbing for a short time, before Triple H sneaks up behind The Rock, dumping him from the ring, leaving three, and saving JBL. JBL and HHH then attempt to team up on Chris Benoit, and do so for a period of time, before Benoit ducks a Clothesline from Hell, which connects with The Game instead, eliminating Triple H by accident.

This leaves JBL (#8) and Chris Benoit (#3). Both men almost get eliminated, and both get a few trademark spots in, but as the end draws near, JBL misses a Clothesline from Hell on Benoit again, and Benoit chops JBL, with the velocity alone, enough to send the United States Champion out of the ring!!!
Benoit ends the show, standing tall, and celebrating, going into The Royal Rumble this Sunday with all the confidence in the world, after a MAJOR tune up win tonight.

Default Re: Being The Booker

Rhyno is definitely on the verge of a big push, with Flair giving him the night off. I see those two meeting soon

Good win for Eugene in the battle royal, which I suppose means that the rumble is going to have some comedy in it

Good Christian promo, with him hyping himself being in the rumble. Don’t see him winning it, but he will go very close, probably final 4.

Trish retains the belt by DQ, with Long not wanting Jazz to be beaten. Maybe one more match between these two, before Trish has another feud going into mania

Nice promo with Carlito, which was the typical I’m going to win the rumble one. Nice match tonight as well, which would be pretty good to see

Batista gets the win which was obvious, and I guess he has to be a threat in the rumble, simply because of the Flair factor, and because he will draw number 30

Edge/Orton is an interesting feud, because it looks to have a lot of heat behind it, but I cant see it lasting until mania, although it may well do

HBK comes out, and DX tell us that they will win the rumble and so on. HBK to be a surprise early elimination I think, when he encounters the Rock. Kennedy comes out, and it looks as if you are going to make him a big player after this. Some great lines for Kennedy, and he will have a very good rumble I think, before bowing out near the end

Carlito keeps the IC title, but only just it looks like. Good triple threat here, and Carlito picks up a bit more momentum

Good Cena promo, with him promoting the title match with Taker, which hasn’t had that much build up. Cena is playing the face, and Taker the heel, which is probably the best way around to do it.

Good main event, with Edge and Christian getting the momentum going to RR with the win, but straight afterwards, the cavalry come out, and we get the typical pre-rumble brawl. DX stand tall at the end, looking like they have out smarted everyone again
