World Wrestling Entertainment - Survivor Series 14' and Beyond

Quote:
As Survivor Series neared its end, two men stood in the middle of the ring. Representing Team Authority, Mr. Money in the Bank Seth Rollins. Representing Team Cena, The Show off, Dolph Ziggler. Both men burned a hole through each other’s souls as the atmosphere in the arena rivalled that of the Superbowl.

Ten superstars fought in the war, ten superstars shed blood, sweat and tears for what they believed in, but now, after all the hype only two remained.

Seth Rollins fighting for the Authority, fighting to keep Triple H and his wife Stephanie McMahon in power. Ziggler fighting for the number one contender, John Cena, fighting to wipe the authority from the face of the universe, the WWE universe.

Let’s go Ziggler chants began to erupt, which seemed to give Dolph his second wind. The pair walked towards each other without moving their eyes. It was one v one, the odds were even.

The excitement was unbearable…

Fans watched eagle eyed, waiting to find out who would make the first move. Both men were exhausted from the battle, but neither wanted to show it. Everything was on the line…

And then… it happened…

Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins went toe to toe, blow to blow, rattling each other with right hands. Sweat rained down on the canvas like debris from a waterfall.

The tension was unbearable…

Suddenly, DARKNESS. A different kind of darkness, an eerie kind of darkness, poetic in some ways, terrifying in others. The lights remained out for what seemed like an eternity.

The arena fell quiet, silent almost. You could hear the blood rushing through your veins like the sound of the ocean waves crashing against a lonely rock. You could feel the beat of your heart, but slower, almost as if the muscle was waiting in anticipation for whatever was to come…

The excitement, the tension was unbearable…
Part two coming soon...

The arena turned into a sea of monochromatic blues, all strobing to the call of the crows. The crowd inside the arena went ballistic. Hairs stood on end and goose pimples explored new territories.

Standing on the top of the entrance ramp, with baseball bat in hand, donning the white and black paint was ‘The Stinger’.

Rumours had been running rampant ever since Sting was announced for the new WWE video game WWE 2K15, and despite the realisation that someday, somehow, Sting would appear, it didn’t make this moment any less sensational.

Ringside, The Authority leaders Triple H and his wife Stephanie McMahon stood, her jaw scraping the ground, his eyes fixed on Sting.

He made his move…

Inside the ring, Mr. Money in the Bank Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler turned their attention to the ramp as Sting paced methodically towards them. Swinging the bat in one hand, he used the other to grasp the ring ropes, before climbing inside.

He stood, a tall figure amongst two of the WWE’s current greats. His long trench coat swaying in the atmosphere’s breeze. He looked towards Rollins, then at Dolph, before fixating on the future of the WWE.

He waited, like a lion stalking its prey, waiting for the right moment, soaking up the ‘Sting’ chants that had inevitably broke free.

There was still no movement at ringside…

After what seemed like an eternity Sting smiled, like only he could, and out of nowhere Dolph Ziggler struck Seth Rollins with the Zig Zag, planting him to the canvas below.

It was over in seconds…

Dolph hooked the leg of Mr. Money in the Bank and waited for the most important three count of his career.

1…
2…
3…

It was over…

Dolph Ziggler had secured victory for team Cena, banishing The Authority from the WWE Universe for good. As the crowd roared in celebration, Ziggler took one more look at Sting before rolling out of the ring and up the ramp, out of adversity’s way, almost like he knew what was about to happen.

Rollins lay motionless in the ring while Stephanie McMahon pulled her hair out at ringside. Tears filled her ‘innocent’ eyes.

Back in the ring, Sting raised the baseball bat in the air signifying a ‘New Day’ in the WWE, then turned to exit. He was, however, blocked by the arm of The Game, Triple H, who had made his way into the ring. Anticipation built as Sting crept back into the squared circle to face him.

Genuine excitement and nerves flew through the air of the sold out crowd as Sting and Triple H stared a hole right through one another.

It was a moment like no other…

Frustration and hatred emanated from Triple H’s eyes while a look of contempt smothered The Stinger’s pupils.

Sting dropped his baseball bat…

The Game snapped…

Both men showered each other with fists, boo’s reigned in every time Hunter took a shot, and cheers when Sting replied. It went on for several minutes before Sting caught him with the Scorpion Death Drop, planting Hunter on the mat, much to the delight of the Universe.

Survivor Series went off the air with Sting standing tall in the middle of the ring, and a ‘new day’ just over the hill in the WWE.

WWE Survivor Series 2014
LIVE from the Scottrade Center, St. Louis Missouri
THE RESULTS

The PPV began with the Chairman of the board spicing things up, announcing that if Team Authority were to lose in the main event against John Cena and his cohorts, not only would Triple H and Stephanie McMahon lose their on screen jobs, but the only man that could bring them back into power would be the leader of the Cenation himself, the number one contender, John Cena.

PRE SHOW RESULTS

Fandango w/Rosa Mendes defeated Justin Gabriel, debuting a new and improved, edgier gimmick. After the bout, Fandango and Rosa jived over the motionless body of Gabriel, mocking him and his loss.

The second pre-show fight saw The Real American Jack Swagger defeat Cesaro after applying an aggressive looking ankle lock.

PPV RESULTS

In the opening brawl of the PPV, the Hollywood sensation Miz and his stunt double Damien Mizdow defeated The Uso’s, Los Matadores and Gold and Stardust © to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions after Damien Mizdow got the pin over Goldust. Post match hilarity ensued when The Miz grabbed both of the WWE Tag Team Championship belts, but it was evident that the WWE Universe cared only for one man, his stunt double.

Team Fox defeated Team Paige in the first traditional Survivor Series match of the night. Alicia Fox, Emma, Naomi and Natalya, who made up Team Fox out did Paige, Cameron, and The Slayers, (Layla and Summer Rae) but emotions got the better of Paige as she attacked every single diva in the ring, standing tall in a show of divergence, claiming that the coveted squared circle was indeed, ‘her house’

In one of the most anticipated matches of the night, Bray Wyatt took on Dean Ambrose, with Ambrose seeking revenge after Wyatt cost him his match with arch nemesis and Mr. Money in the Bank Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell. It wasn’t long until things got violent when Dean Ambrose struck Wyatt with a steel chair, getting himself disqualified in the process. Ambrose took out all of his anguish and frustration after the bell, continuously striking Wyatt with the chair until the artifact broke into pieces. It took several referees and backstage security staff to rip Ambrose and Wyatt apart.

In one of the shortest Survivor Series matches in recent history, Adam Rose and The Bunny defeated Slator Gator (Heath Slater and Titus O’ Neil) when The Bunny pinned Heath Slater after a top rope drop kick.

Separating the action was a surprise appearance by Roman Reigns, albeit via satellite. Reigns encouraged the WWE Universe by announcing that his return was imminent, and that he’d be back sometime in December.

The penultimate match saw AJ Lee defend her WWE Diva’s Championship against Nikki Bella. Nikki had her sister, and personal butler Brie Bella at ringside, a role in which Brie wasn’t too fond of. After an exhausting match between the two divas of the WWE, Nikki realized that she was wearing out, and that a personal favour from her sister was needed.

Nikki whispered into her sisters ear, and after much deliberation, Brie smiled and locked lips with AJ, distracting her right into a Nikki Bella rollup, and a defeat which cost AJ the belt and Brie her respect.

Finally, in the main event of Survivor Series 2014, Team Cena defeated Team Authority after the most shocking WWE appearance in history. It rallied down to two final men, representing Team Cena was Dolph Ziggler (after Cena got knocked out when Big Show jumped ship and joined Team Authority, not before a knock out punch to Cena however), and representing Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s careers was Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins.

As both men relentlessly brawled in the centre of the ring, none other than The Stinger, Sting showed up causing shock waves of majour proportions. Sting was enough distraction for Seth Rollins, who got caught up in a brutal Zig Zag courtesy of Team Cena’s Dolph Ziggler.

All it took post Zig Zag was three seconds for Ziggler to pin Rollins to the canvas.

The aftermath saw Sting and Hunter swap fists, with Survivor Series fading out on a fallen Triple H, a fallen Authority, and a defiant Sting standing tall.
