WWE Survivor Series 2014
LIVE from the Scottrade Center, St. Louis Missouri
The PPV began with the Chairman of the board spicing things up, announcing that if Team Authority were to lose in the main event against John Cena and his cohorts, not only would Triple H and Stephanie McMahon lose their on screen jobs, but the only man that could bring them back into power would be the leader of the Cenation himself, the number one contender, John Cena.
PRE SHOW RESULTS
Fandango w/Rosa Mendes defeated Justin Gabriel, debuting a new and improved, edgier gimmick. After the bout, Fandango and Rosa jived over the motionless body of Gabriel, mocking him and his loss.
The second pre-show fight saw The Real American Jack Swagger defeat Cesaro after applying an aggressive looking ankle lock.
In the opening brawl of the PPV, the Hollywood sensation Miz and his stunt double Damien Mizdow defeated The Uso’s, Los Matadores and Gold and Stardust © to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions after Damien Mizdow got the pin over Goldust. Post match hilarity ensued when The Miz grabbed both of the WWE Tag Team Championship belts, but it was evident that the WWE Universe cared only for one man, his stunt double.
Team Fox defeated Team Paige in the first traditional Survivor Series match of the night. Alicia Fox, Emma, Naomi and Natalya, who made up Team Fox out did Paige, Cameron, and The Slayers, (Layla and Summer Rae) but emotions got the better of Paige as she attacked every single diva in the ring, standing tall in a show of divergence, claiming that the coveted squared circle was indeed, ‘her house’
In one of the most anticipated matches of the night, Bray Wyatt took on Dean Ambrose, with Ambrose seeking revenge after Wyatt cost him his match with arch nemesis and Mr. Money in the Bank Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell. It wasn’t long until things got violent when Dean Ambrose struck Wyatt with a steel chair, getting himself disqualified in the process. Ambrose took out all of his anguish and frustration after the bell, continuously striking Wyatt with the chair until the artifact broke into pieces. It took several referees and backstage security staff to rip Ambrose and Wyatt apart.
In one of the shortest Survivor Series matches in recent history, Adam Rose and The Bunny defeated Slator Gator (Heath Slater and Titus O’ Neil) when The Bunny pinned Heath Slater after a top rope drop kick.
Separating the action was a surprise appearance by Roman Reigns, albeit via satellite. Reigns encouraged the WWE Universe by announcing that his return was imminent, and that he’d be back sometime in December.
The penultimate match saw AJ Lee defend her WWE Diva’s Championship against Nikki Bella. Nikki had her sister, and personal butler Brie Bella at ringside, a role in which Brie wasn’t too fond of. After an exhausting match between the two divas of the WWE, Nikki realized that she was wearing out, and that a personal favour from her sister was needed.
Nikki whispered into her sisters ear, and after much deliberation, Brie smiled and locked lips with AJ, distracting her right into a Nikki Bella rollup, and a defeat which cost AJ the belt and Brie her respect.
Finally, in the main event of Survivor Series 2014, Team Cena defeated Team Authority after the most shocking WWE appearance in history. It rallied down to two final men, representing Team Cena was Dolph Ziggler (after Cena got knocked out when Big Show jumped ship and joined Team Authority, not before a knock out punch to Cena however), and representing Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s careers was Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins.
As both men relentlessly brawled in the centre of the ring, none other than The Stinger, Sting showed up causing shock waves of majour proportions. Sting was enough distraction for Seth Rollins, who got caught up in a brutal Zig Zag courtesy of Team Cena’s Dolph Ziggler.
All it took post Zig Zag was three seconds for Ziggler to pin Rollins to the canvas.
The aftermath saw Sting and Hunter swap fists, with Survivor Series fading out on a fallen Triple H, a fallen Authority, and a defiant Sting standing tall.
