Note: Been bored and unemployed the last month or so. Didn't get into college this semester and i've needed something to kill time so I started working on this. Hopefully I manage to get a job soon and if I do, I might not be able to update this as much, but for now I'm in it. Figure holding myself to one show should give me the motivation I need to not get overwhelmed.

June 25th: In the Spring of 2014, WWE began to truly realize that they had been coasting. Despite the live audiences being active and full, television ratings were down and episode feedback was extremely unimpressive. The decision was made to renew the brand split, but with separate creative teams, production crews and separate PPVs. The idea is that each brand will use this opportunity to one up one another and create competition within the company. With the WWE Network, there is no need to worry about the possible poor buyrates when thiss gets rolling. Both shows will be presented on the USA Network, Raw will remain on Monday and Smackdown will be moving over to Thursday nights. Both brands are going to be considered their own brand with little involvement from the other, however still sharing the big four PPVs. Stephanie McMahon will have control of the Smackdown brand, while Triple H will have control of Raw.

To level off each brand, the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship were split again, with the World Heavyweight Championship being vacated and put on Smackdown, while Raw’s first overall pick, Daniel Bryan will hold onto the WWE Championship. Smackdown also gets the Intercontinental Champion, Christian and Tag Team Champions, Cody Rhodes & Goldust, along with WWE Divas Champion, Paige. The decision officially goes into effect after the brand split draft the night after Payback, the final PPV of it’s name. To stop themselves from handcuffing matches to certain gimmicks, PPV names will go back to non-themed PPV names. Also, CM Punk made his return at Wrestlemania XXX, saving Daniel Bryan from a 3 on 1 Evolution beatdown that took Triple H out of the equation and allowed Bryan to get the win. On Raw we witnessed the first ten picks for each side before the supplemental draft determined the rest. To resolve the part timer issue, Raw was given Brock Lesnar and Smackdown gets Undertaker.

NXT will be shared by the two shows with each brand getting three protected prospects and one protected diva that they have the rights to. Smackdown has the rights to Corey Graves, Enzo Amore, Colin Cassidy & Becky Lynch. Raw took the rights to Konnor, Viktor, Kalisto & Charlotte. Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn & Tyler Breeze have been given the rights to choose which show they want to be called up to.

Dude I've not read a BTB in years but I was actually in the same position and considering starting one myself. I'm looking for a job in Boston now and just have so much free time (I'm not just taking anything i've saved up a bit so waiting for the right job to come.)

Anyways I'll definitely give this a read it might inspire me to finally bite the bullet (BTB) (no? lol) and get back on the train.

Loving what you've done with Smackdown and although I'm slightly disappointed there's no RAW I feel this is definitely more realistic for you and the revamp will make it fresh. I know you are awesome at this because I've seen it. Albeit 6 years ago but I have seen it.

Can't wait to see what's to come.

Live from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado!

The opening pyro goes off and the crowd goes wild as we get our first ever live Smackdown under the new brand split. Michael Cole & JBL introduce the audience until “My Time” hits and Stephanie McMahon makes her way down to the ring. Stephanie grabs the mic and welcomes the raucous Denver crowd to the first Thursday Night Smackdown of the new era. “Not only will tonight be a historic night, but as will our first Smackdown pay per view, The Great American Bash on July 20th, where we will be crowning the new World Heavyweight Champion!” says McMahon to a roar from the crowd. Stephanie announces that the title will be decided in a fatal four way match and that the participants for that match will be determined tonight, right here on Smackdown, along with next week. Stephanie announces that tonight’s main event will be a qualifying match between ‘The Big Guy’ Ryback and Smackdown’s first overall pick in the draft, CM Punk! The crowd goes wild and starts a CM Punk chant. Stephanie also announces that at Great American Bash, we will see the Rhodes Brothers defend their tag team championships against Luke Harper & Erick Rowan. Before leaving Stephanie announces that following the commercial break, the first qualifying match will begin, featuring Alberto Del Rio and Mark Henry.

Henry and Del Rio lock up and Henry immediately throws Del Rio back multiple times. Henry overpowers Del Rio with headbutts in the corner and chucks ADR across the ring. Del Rio escapes the ring but as Big E stares him down from one side and Kofi & Xavier from the other, Del Rio slides back into the ring right into a Henry clothesline. Del Rio eventually takes control and starts working over the right arm of Henry. Del Rio wraps Henry’s arm around the ropes and kicks the ropes multiple times. Alberto kicks away at the injured arm of Henry. Del Rio climbs to the top and goes for a flying dropkick to Henry, only for big Mark to dodge it. Henry with elbow drop to a downed Del Rio. Del Rio superkicks the arm of Henry and follows it up with one to the face. Del Rio covers but Henry barely kicks out at two!

Alberto gets Henry to his feet and tries to lock in the Cross Armbreaker. Henry dodges it and tries to pick up Del Rio for the World’s Strongest Slam, only using his left arm. One arm wasn’t enough and Del Rio manages to escape behind Henry. Del Rio drags down Henry by the arm and locks in the armbar. Henry struggles and tries to get to the rope, but instead rolls over and tries to lift out of it. Henry is struggling immensely but with one quick burst he lifts Del Rio up, still in the armbar, and slams him to the mat. The World’s Strongest Man manages to pick up the Mexican Aristocrat and hit the World’s Strongest Slam as he clutches his arm in pain and makes the cover for the victory.

Winner: Mark Henry (12:34)
Mark Henry celebrates In the ring as the rest of the Woods Group makes their way into the ring. Xavier Woods grabs the microphone.

Xavier Woods: You say we don’t belong here. You say we belong on Superstars or in dark matches. Well guess what? That’s all going to change. And it all begins at Great American Bash where my dear, dear friend, Mark Henry takes home the World Heavyweight Championship for the second time in his illustrious career. You look in the ring right now and you see just four black guys. Some of you might even be saying “hey, they’re like the Nation of Domination”. Well I’ll be DAMNED if we’re not more than that. You look at us by the color of our skin because it’s the easiest thing to do. It’s easy to stereotype. But it’s so much deeper than that. We are four of the most talented wrestlers in this company, and we’re here to show Smackdown what we’re really made of.”

Woods drops the mic and raises Henry’s hand while the crowd cheers.

*Commercial break*

Renee Young is backstage with Randy Orton. Orton says that he doesn’t have a match booked tonight. He wonders how a star like him isn’t going to be featured on the opening show of the new flagship brand. Randy says that maybe he’ll have to make some noise himself and walks off.

We return live to Zack Ryder in the ring running the ropes and tossing his headband into the first row of the crowd. ‘Broken Dreams’ hits and Drew McIntyre makes his way down to the ring. McIntyre is back to sporting his Scottish tights and the fun expression that he generally had in 3MB is gone.

Match #2
Drew McIntyre vs Zack Ryder

Ryder and McIntyre immediately go at it and trade punches in the ring. McIntyre kicks Ryder in the chest and throws him, throat first, at the ropes. McIntyre stomps away at Ryder. Ryder starts fighting back but as he goes for the Broski Boot, McIntyre moves and Ryder hits the corner hard. Future Shock DDT from McIntyre finishes off Ryder.

Winner: Drew McIntyre (1:09)
Drew celebrates a little before demanding a microphone.

Drew McIntyre: Ya know, this brand split might have been the best thing to ever happen. I don’t have to hang out with that moron, Heath Slater, anymore. And now that the band is broken up I can get back on track for something I’ve been missing for a while now. CHRISTIAN, you have something that belongs to me. You see, ever since I lost the Intercontinental Title in 2010, it just hasn’t been the same. It doesn’t have that credibility that it once had with the Sinister Scot. So Christian, why dontcha step outta your rocking chair and give me what’s rightfully mine. You’ve been a nice placeholder but...

‘Just Close Your Eyes’ hits and Christian comes out onto the stage with the IC title draped over his shoulder.

Christian: Hey there pal, I’ve gotta say. I’m really broken up about the band splitting. I really liked that song you guys did. What was it called? Something like “3 on 1 ain’t enough to beat anyone”? I thoroughly enjoyed that one. But back on topic, I’m not going to hand you my title, but I’m a fighting champion. I think all my peeps would like to see me defend this title. So how about this Drew, you name the time, you name the place. I’ll put my title on the line and WHEN I come out victorious, you can go bring back the band.

Drew McIntyre: You’re making a mistake, old man. But since you offered, I’ll gladly take that belt off your hands. But not here, these fans don’t deserve it. How about we settle this at Great American Bash?

The crowd chants “Christian! Christian! Christian!”

Christian: You’ve got yourself a deal, kid. But after The Bash, you’ll be begging for…Just one more match.

Just Close Your Eyes plays while Christian makes his way to the back.

‘I Came To Play’ hits as Miz makes his way down to the ring, high fiving some fans. “Smoke & Mirriors/Gold-Lust” mashup plays as Goldust and Cody Rhodes follow Miz to the ring, holding their tag team championships.

The lights go out and the crowd fixes their eyes to the titantron. “Denver…we’re here”. ‘Live in Fear’ plays as the whole Wyatt Family makes their way down to the ring with the lantern in hand.

Cody Rhodes squares off with Luke Harper to start the match. Cody manages to use his speed to wear Harper down before tagging in Miz. Miz hits the running clothesline into the corner and follows up with an axe handle smash off the ropes. Goldust gets the tag in, but after a distraction from Bray and a cheap shot from Rowan, the Wyatt Family takes control. Rowan traps Goldust in the corner and repeatedly runs into him, taking the breath out of Goldust. Rowan locks in a bearhug in the center of the ring and slowly the life drains out of Goldust. Goldust clotheslines Harper over the rope and goes out himself. On the outside, Cody and Rowan fight by the announce table. In the ring Bray lays out Miz with a shot to the face and then throws his body into a brutal looking crossbody block on Miz. Bray parades around the ring and stands near Miz. Miz was playing possum and rolls up Wyatt for two! Bray gets up and hits another crossbody to Miz and follows it up by yelling “THIS MAN IS NOT A VERY GOOD ACTOR”.

As Bray sets up for the Sister Abigail, Cody gets into the ring and hits the Disaster Kick to Bray, only to immediately get hits with a discus clothesline from Luke Harper. Goldust drags Harper out of the ring and brawls with him on the outside. Meanwhile, Erick Rowan picks up Miz, only to be kicked in the stomach and eats the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz turns around, only to be elbowed in the face by Bray Wyatt, and hit with the Sister Abigail. Bray gets the pin on Miz for the victory.

The Wyatt Family stand triumphant in the ring as we cut to a commercial break.

*Commercial break*

Rollins goes off on the referee for pulling him off Sheamus and says that he’s on his own in this world. Rollins says that no one will be able to stop him from making it to the top, not Sheamus, not the referee and certainly not his so called friends.

Rollins slams the mic down and walks out as we go to commercial.

*Commercial break*

Dolph Ziggler is backstage hanging out, chatting up Emma in the parking lot. Seth Rollins comes crashing out of the arena doors, slamming it behind him. Emma walks off as Ziggler sarcastically asks Rollins what’s up. Rollins gets in Ziggler’s face, telling him that he knows damn well what’s up. Ziggler laughs it off and Rollins asks him what’s so funny. Ziggler says the only thing funny is Rollins’ win-loss record since leaving The Shield. This enrages Rollins who attacks Ziggler. The two trade strikes before Rollins knees Ziggler below the belt and slams him into the side of a car. Rollins steps back and boots Ziggler’s head into the side of the car before walking away down the lot. Emma returns and rushes over to Ziggler, yelling for the paramedics.

Some notes:

- Keeping it recapped for now. I'm rusty as fuck (was never that good anyway lol) and I'm gonna ease myself into writing out more segments. I did it with a couple short ones here but the plan is to eventually master dialogue. Some of it's pretty rough here, but I'm learning.

- I felt like I enjoyed writing this show a bit more than I expected to. Didn't put any pressure or deadlines on myself and it just kind of came to me.

- As I said, dialogue certainly isn't my specialty but I'm working on it.

- Any criticism/advice is welcomed!

I liked the format man and how it isn't too much to read and is just a nice length. Some of it didn't quite read how I think you intended, not sure if you read over this or not but that's how you would get rid of such mistakes, although they are few and far between.

For me the GAB looks a litte weak right now in terms of the card so it'll be up to you on how it's going to build up and get me excited! I'm sure you won't have any problem. Keep it up!

Dirtsheet Roundup

Wrestlezone said:
It's not happening

It is believed that 14 viewers were lost in the opening minutes of the second hour. Now maybe it was the commercial break, but feel free to use it on your local forum as an excuse as to why the wrestler you don't like will never main event.

Exist.

Because he hasn't been on TV in ages
Wrestling Observer Newsletter said:
- Chris Jericho strained his calf at a houseshow just two days before the first edition of Smackdown. He will be out for an indefinite amount of time, however it isn't expected te exceed a month.

- The Woods Group is expected to be a neutral faction with some face characteristics and some heel characteristics.

- The plan is to do a Smackdown Money In The Bank match at a Pay Per View before Wrestlemania.

- It is confirmed that No Way Out, in February, will feature the Elimination Chamber. Raw will get their own Elimination Chamber at New Years Revolution.

- There is little plan to integrate the brands into cross brand storylines at the moment. A loss from either brand at the moment would be detrimental and make one brand superior to the other.

- TNA has continued to coast with the same .8 rating just about every week. Nothing is really being done to try and better the company and the inevitable might be close.

- WWE has been heavily scouting PWG talent. Kevin Steen is already in developmental but The Young Bucks and Adam Cole are also in eye sight. WWE was also extremely impressed with Candice LeRae, however they're not sure if they would be able to convince the network to do male vs female wrestling in a respectable way.

- Triple H has all but taken over being the show runner at this point. Vince rarely is involved in the live workings of the show these days. Triple H has put an emphasis on storylines and the wrestling with physique being a thing of the past.

WWE Smackdown Preview: July 3rd 2014

As Independence Day approaches, another American tradition comes near as Great American Bash is just three weeks away. Last week it was announced that the vacant World Heavyweight Championship was going to be decided at Great American Bash in a fatal four way match. Currently three superstars have qualified. Mark Henry defeated Alberto Del Rio to take the first spot, Sheamus defeated Seth Rollins to snag the second and CM Punk defeated Ryback in the main event to secure the third. Stephanie McMahon was quoted yesterday saying that she will give us our final qualifying match to open the show on Thursday.

Also at Great American Bash, Cody Rhodes & Goldust will defend their Tag Team Championships against Erick Rowan & Luke Harper of the Wyatt Family. In an attempt to gain some momentum, Cody Rhodes will go one on one with the Wyatt Family leader, Bray Wyatt. Will the brother of The Bizarre One be able to take down the man with the whole world in his hands?

Also competing will be Drew McIntyre, who has a special opponent he has arranged a match with. And after being absent for the last year and a half, Eve Torres will have her first match back in the ring since losing the Divas Championship in January of 2013. Also, hear what Seth Rollins has to say after his brutal attack on Dolph Ziggler in the parking lot of the Pepsi Center.

Witness all of this and much, much more on Thursday Night Smackdown, LIVE at 8 PM on the USA Network!

Hey mate,

So the preview for the next show doesn't give much away.

Some serious hype does need to be done for ALL the matches currently on the card for GAB, so I'm intrigued to see just how you move forward from here.

Final qualifying match for GAB should be solid, and I'll be all smiles if Drew McIntyre's rebuild continues here.

I'd also probably advise you read more from the likes of Wolfy, Szumi, Legend, and Mac if you're looking to improve your dialogue.

I'll be reading.

- Didn't do any real dialogue this week. The shit I had tried writing up didn't flow well at all. Been analyzing some promos to try and get that down better. But I wasn't comfortable with how poor the dialogue I had written was.

- At the moment I seem to like the formatting. I don't really use any fancy font but I don't think any of this is too hard on the eyes.

- Show is a tad shorter this week but I just really wanted to get it posted. Trying to get in a rhythm at the moment so that this doesn't end up like my other threads.

I liked it. And the format is clean and easy to follow and doesn't take too long to read like some of these tend too. I feel you will need to get into more detail with dialogue at some point just to bring out some of the characters more but this works for now. I have some resuts at GAB that I would be happy with and that i'd be disappointed with so that means you've grabbed my attention which is obviously a good thing.

Dirtsheet Roundup

- Wrestling Observer has reported that Kevin Steen, Adam Cole, Nick Jackson, Matt Jackson, Candice LeRae, Taeler Hendrix & Peter Avalon were at WWE's Performance Center this week. It is unknown if any have been offered a contract.

- Wrestlezone reported that The Young Bucks have officially signed with WWE.

- Wrestlezone redacted that after listening to the full Observer podcast.

- Wrestling Observer is reporting that Chris Jericho should be back in time for Summerslam. Amazingly enough Mongoose McQueen's, front man for the band Fozzy, who has a striking resemblance to Chris Jericho, tour is lining up with WWE's dates in the next few months.

- Carlito has not been contacted by WWE in any way, shape or form. Clearing up a dirt sheet rumor that always seems to start.

- CM Punk was caught by the police on the streets of Chicago at 1:30 AM on Saturday for having a suspicious white powder baggie on him. Turns out it was just flour and Punk was actually just one block away from Colt Cabana's studio apartment where the two made a funfetti cake

Just getting acquainted to my new job. My apologies if the next show isn't posted as quick as the last two.
