Default WCW 2000: A New Millennium, A Re-Boot!

To Call WCW Starrcade 1999 a complete and utter failure would be quite possibly the biggest understatement in the history of World Championship Wrestling, as two of the biggest names in WCW were brought down with injuries, as well as an up and coming Jeff Jarrett who has been diagnosed with a severe concussion after his ladder match with Chris Benoit for the United States title. Also, rumors of the departure of four of the top men have been circulating the locker room, but nothing has been confirmed at the moment.

It has also been announced that Ted Turner has suspended all WCW television until after the new millennium. With that being said all contracts will be renegotiated or allowed to lapse with wrestlers sitting out the rest of their contract.

Rumors have it Ted Turner has given the reigns back to Eric Bischoff after the failed attempt by Vince Russo and Eric Ferrara. Eric Bischoff has been put in charge of all new contracts, but Ted Turner told them no longer will contracts be guaranteed and any creative control clauses will be banned.

Eric Bischoff has announced on the official WCW.com that the WCW power plant along with trainers Ric Flair, Steve Borden, Bill DeMott, Paul Orndorff, Ultimo Dragon will be holding seminars over the next few weeks to find a new breed of talent for the brand new WCW. Ted Turner has been in full support of this decision and has offered several wrestlers listed above extra incentive to assist in the talent search for the new World Championship Wrestling.

Souled Out 2000 is to be the first event of the new WCW of the new millennium and Eric Bischoff has declared all titles vacated…but the former champions of each title will be involved in that title match with the exception of the World and US titles, tag and cruiserweight title.
