Head Office & Business Announcements

Monday, April 7th, 2014 -
Contrary to popular rumours which placed NAW based out of Nashville, Jeff Jarrett anounced through New Age Wrestling's Vimeo channel that they have purchased office space in Saint Louis, Missouri. Jarrett also announced the first talent signed to a NAW contract, Adam Cole.

A former Ring of Honor World champion and Combat Zone Junior Heavyweight Champion, Adam Cole represents what Jeff Jarrett calls the "next generation of wrestling" and shows the commitment NAW has to using a new group of talent that are widely unknown.

Jarrett also announced that a full staff listing will be presented on Friday online at www.newagewrestling.com.

Combat Zone Wrestling to Merge with NAW?

It appears that Jeff Jarrett and the team from New Age Wrestling have come into agreement with the devil, DJ Hyde. While details have not been released, it is alleged that Combat Zone Wrestling has merged with the up and coming NAW. Combat Zone has recently celebrated its 15th year anniversary, and for an independent wrestling company to last 15 years is nothing short of a minor miracle. Jeff Jarrett has repeatedly indicated he is looking for new talent. This is something that DJ Hyde prides himself in.

Quote:
“We develop talent probably better than anybody in the business right now,” Hyde said. “It just shows with our guys that WWE is looking at or has taken already.”
This partnership could come at the perfect time for Combat Zone and DJ Hyde. Despite lasting 15 years, CZW is still barely keeping its head above water in many ways, according to Hyde, and there have been many obstacles standing in the way of the company taking a significant step forward. Hyde is not shy about the financial state of CZW. He readily admits that the promotion is not turning a huge profit and is actually barely making money altogether.

Quote:
“Financially, we have a lot of hurdles,” he said. “Money wise, we’re surviving. We’re not making money. We’re not growing financially and I think that’s the biggest hurdle.”
According to him, the promotion is doing well enough to pay the bills and spends some weeks unsure of whether it’s going to be able to make payroll.

While Shawn Michaels' training academy has already been named the development hub for NAW talent - Combat Zone could provide NAW with something that sets it apart from the competition. Extreme Wrestling. A gap that has been very real since Extreme Championship Wrestling folded.

Quote:
“While I don't expect all of NAW to hold the brand that Combat Zone has maintained,” Joey Styles said to WrestlingInc, “this relationship could be a gold mine for both promotions”.
Members of head office of NAW have not given any information as to what this relationship will look like. However it is speculated that Jeff Jarrett will be making an announcement soon.

Jeff and Karen Jarrett has tweeted this invitation out to fans and those interested in New Age Wrestling to join them on their Vimeo channel or live at the Chase Park Plaze in Saint Louis for a press conference. It is presumed that the full performer roster and information on the rumoured partnership with CZW will be announced. "The Chase" is a play on the old Saint Louis based wrestling television show, 'Wrestling At The Chase' which aired from May 23, 1959 and ran until September 10, 1983. The show featured many of the most famous wrestlers in the NWA. Participants included Ric Flair, Harley Race, "Cowboy" Bob Orton, Dick the Bruiser, Bruiser Brody, Gene Kiniski, Lou Thesz and Ted DiBiase. In January and February 1984, a few episodes of the show were produced from WWF tapings held at the Chase. The first of these shows featured Hulk Hogan's return match after three years in the AWA.

Shane Carwin Signs With NAW

Retired MMA fighter, Shane Carwin, has signed with New Age Wrestling. In a move that is compared to Ken Shamrock going to World Wrestling Entertainment, Carwin has signed a Part-Time deal that will bring former UFC champion into the squared circle.

"This move will put New Age Wrestling on the map," said CEO Jayson Dinsmore, "and provide some excellent entertainment for this promotion". Dinsmore refused to comment on whether or not there will be any further announcements prior to the Press Conference scheduled on Friday.
