::The camera goes to the Impact Zone where pyro goes off and fans are chanting “TNA.” Mike Tenay is in the ring with a mic::

Tenay: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the FIRST WRESTLING EVENT OF 2006! Before we came on the air, I received word from Larry Zybsko that the first match of 2006 will be…America’s Most Wanted and Monty Brown taking on the team of Team 3-D and CHRISTIAN CAGE!

::A “Christian Cage” Chant breaks out::

Tenay: But before we get to that match lets run down the current card for Final Resolution:

Hell On Earth: Team Jarrett (Jeff Jarrett, America’s Most Wanted, Abyss, & Monty Brown) vs. Team Christian (Christian Cage, Team 3-D, Rhino, & Sting)

X Division Title Match: Samoa Joe © vs. Christopher Daniels

Larry’s Choice Match: Raven vs.???

Revenge Of The Outlaws: BG James, Kip James & ??? vs. Konnan, ???, & ???

Tenay: And this match has just been announced:

6 Points Of Impact: AJ Styles vs. Elix Skipper vs. Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams vs. Alex Shelley vs. Matt Bentley

Tenay: Now folks, get ready for a dose of IMPACT!

Commercials

::Monty Brown’s music hits when we return. Brown comes out of the left chute and plays to the crowd a bit before AMW’s music hits. Brown gets in the ring as AMW come out of the left chute with the Tag Titles and Gail Kim::

Tenay: Well Don, are you ready for the first match of 2006?

West: You better believe it Mike

::AMW get into the ring as Team 3-D’s music hits to a huge pop. Team 3-D come out and play to the crowd. They walk down the aisle and stop at the bottom. The countdown begins and Christian Cage’s music hits. Christian comes out to a huge pop. He walks down the aisle and talks things over with Team 3-D::

Monty Brown & America’s Most Wanted vs. Team 3-D & Christian Cage

The faces charge into the ring and everyone pairs off. Brother Ray backs Harris into the ropes and clotheslines him over. Devon backs Storm into the ropes and clotheslines him over. Christian gets backed into the ropes, Monty swings and misses, Christian backdrops Monty over the ropes. The faces play to the crowd as the heels regroup on the outside. Jeff Jarrett comes down to talk things over with AMW and Monty.

Tenay: What the hell is Jarrett doing out here?

Jarrett gets on the apron and distracts the faces as the heels sneak up from behind. Jarrett drops off the apron and goes over to the announce booth.

Tenay: Well it looks like Jeff Jarrett will once again join us here at the booth. Folks, we are going to take our final commercial break, we will be back with the rest of this match.

Commercials

We return and see that Harris and Devon are the legal men. Harris goes to work on Devon with a scoop slam followed by a quick elbow drop. Harris covers 1.. kick out. Harris drags Devon to the heel corner and tags in Storm. Storm puts Devon in the corner and begins to choke him. Storm goes over and trash talks the faces. Ray gets into the ring and the ref cuts him off allowing the heels to triple team Devon in the corner. Storm hits some body blows on Devon in the corner. Storm turns back around to taunt the faces. When Storm turns back to Devon he runs into a clothesline. Storm quickly gets back up and runs into a scoop slam by Devon. Storm gets back up and Devon wrenches the arm of Storm. Devon walks Storm over to the face corner and tags in Brother Ray. Ray comes in and elbows the held arm of Storm. Ray scoop slams Storm and then drops a series of quick elbow. Storm gets up and runs into a series of punches by Ray. Ray goes for the bionic elbow but Storm cuts him off with a thumb to the eye.

Jarrett: You see that Tenay? That’s smart wrestling right there.

After the eye poke, Storm makes a quick tag to Monty Brown. Monty comes in and goes for a clothesline but Ray ducks. Monty continues running and ends up knocking Christian off the apron. An upset Christian tries to get in the ring but the ref cuts him off. Harris comes into the ring and superkicks Ray. Monty makes the cover and yells at the ref to turn around. 1…2. kick out. Monty picks up Ray, he scoops him up and hits a backbreaker, he keeps hold of Ray and tosses him over his head with the fallaway slam. Monty tags in Harris. Harris comes in and stomps away on Ray. Harris chokes Ray on the ground until the ref forces him to stop. Harris tags in Storm. Storm goes to the top rope. Scoop slam by Harris followed by an elbow drop off the top from Storm. Storm goes for the cover 1...2.. Christian makes the save.

Jarrett: Now what the hell is Christian doing? He’s not the legal man

Christian goes back to the apron as Storm tags in Harris. Harris comes in and lifts Ray up. He shoots him off into the ropes, Ray bounces off and ducks a clothesline by Harris, Ray goes off the other ropes but runs into a sleeper hold by Harris. Harris has the sleeper locked in tight. The ref raises the arm of Ray and it falls for a 1 count. Harris continues to have a tight grip with the sleeper. The ref raises the arm of Ray and it falls for the 2 count. Harris applies more pressure with the sleeper. The ref goes to lift Ray’s arm again. It begins the fall but Ray lifts it back up halfway through the fall. The crowd starts to get behind Ray. Harris notices Ray trying to come back to he breaks the sleeper and forearms Ray in the back of the head. Harris quickly tags in Storm. Storm comes in and is met with right hands by Ray. Storm cuts him off with a low blow. Storm shoots Ray off into the ropes, Ray bounces off and nails storm with a clothesline but is hit with a clothesline by Storm. Both men are down. The ref starts his 10 count. 1…2…3…4…5.. Both men begin to move. Storm crawls over and makes the tag to Monty Brown as Ray crawls over and makes the tag to Christian Cage. Christian comes in and ducks a Monty clothesline. Christian keeps charging and knocks Harris off the apron. Monty and Christian turn around and Christian hits him with a dropkick. Harris comes from behind and attacks Christian. Devon comes in and saves Christian. Devon and Harris battle to the ropes and they both spill to the outside. Storm gets up and attacks Christian from behind. Ray saves Christian. Ray and Storm pair off and spill to the outside.

Jarrett: This is my cue Tenay

Jarrett leaves the announce booth and grabs his guitar. Jarrett gets on the apron and distracts Christian. Gail Kim gets on the apron and distracts the ref. Monty Brown comes up from behind on Christian and low blows him. Jarrett gets in the ring with the guitar. Monty holds Christian for Jarrett. Out of nowhere Rhino slides into the ring and quickly Gores Jarrett. Rhino beats his chest but pays no attention to Monty Brown. Monty drops Christian, bounces off the ropes, and hits The Pounce on Rhino. Gail gets off the apron as Monty taunts after the move. Christian sneaks up on Monty Brown. Christian grabs the arms of Monty and locks them in. He turns Monty and hits The Unprettier. Christian rolls Monty over and the ref counts. 1…2…3

Winners – Team 3-D & Christian Cage

After the match, Christian is celebrating when Abyss comes down and attacks Christian from behind. The ring fills up and everyone starts brawling. The heels have a 5 on 4 advantage and they use it. Team Jarrett stomps Team Christian to the ground. The lights go out and the scorpion logo appears. The lights flash. A spotlight is shown at the right chute. Under the spotlight…

Tenay: IT’S STING!!!! STING IS HERE!!!!!

Sting stands under the spotlight pointing his baseball bat at Team Jarrett. Team Jarrett all look shocked as the scene fades out.

Show End

January 4th 2006

Yeah, it’s taken me awhile to review Impact because it’s the New Year and the New Year brings a hangover. So here are my quick thoughts on the shows:

Good

1. Finally….Sting: So we finally had Sting appear on TV. Sure it was only a 2 second spot and all he did was point a bat, but that’s all he needed to do. Now that he’s been on TV that should attract more viewers who want to see him on regular TV and not on PPV.

2. X Division Action: I was really pleased with Sabin, Bentley, Shelley, Styles, and Petey on the show. Throwing all 5 of those men into a match and adding Elix Skipper can only be a good thing.

3. Skipper and Callis: I like where this is going. Sure I ripped it off from Rosenhaus and Owens but oh well, you got to start somewhere.

4. Hell On Earth: Just a new twist on War Games. It works nicely too considering everyone in the match. Rhino and Abyss are known brawlers, Brown can brawl when need as can AMW and Team 3-D, all Jarrett can do is punch and kick, and a brawl can hide any rust that Sting has.

Bad

1. Not Much Advanced: Aside from the 6 Points Of Impact Match and Hell On Earth, nothing else got accomplished. BG and Kip didn’t say a word, Joe didn’t kill anyone, and Raven didn’t threaten Zybsko.

2. 5 Matches: This is kind of iffy really. Sure there’s only 5 matches but Hell On Earth and 6 Points Of Impact are going to take up a good amount of time. Throw in Joe and Daniels who I won’t cheap on time and there’s at least half the PPV in 3 matches. So many workers, so little time.

3. Don West: Yeah, he’s a nice guy and everything but man he can’t call a match. Why do you think I had Jarrett at the booth for 2 out of 4 matches? To cut West off half the time. Again, nice guy backstage but just not cutting it in the booth. Action might be taken.

Not many bad things but some big ones. Little did I know, things where about to get worse…but in a good way. Yes, many things would change once the phone rang.

My Comments: The phone conversation will be up tomorrow probably. Enjoy TNA Impact which starts in like 30 minutes.

I'm loving how you do this BTB. You take a normal BTB and you turn it into a GM scenario where you play the boss. It makes it seem real intresting and adds a whole lot to the show. Your review on how you feel about the show is also great and I read the first iMPACT of 2006 and it was good. Similar to the one TNA did, only one match took place and it was good with Cage and Team 3-D getting the win with help from Rhino while Jarrett tries to interfere but gets Gored! Like you said, even though Sting wasn't there for long, it builds him up coming back

WTF? I dont care if your a Jarrett hater or not but the man is a great wrestler and can wrestle many different styles. Since your aiming for a War Games Style match go back and watch "Wednesday Bloody Wednesday" from the weekly PPV era if you can get a hold of it.

it's just part of character (which is essentialy me). I know Jarrett can do more than punch and kick but because I don't like him, I diss him. If I didn't play favorites then it just wouldn't be fun.

Glad to see I struck a chord with somebody though, albeit a small chord.

January 4th 2006

So I finished reviewing the Impact show and brainstormed some new ideas. During that time, the phone rang.

Me: Hello

Christian: Hey man, what’s going on?

Me: Not much, just reviewing impact

Christian: You review the show you book and know what you’ve already done? Odd

Me: Some would say that’s odd, others would say that having long hair, wearing big sunglasses, and playing a kazoo is odd

Christian: Touché. Listen, a buddy just called me up and he said that he wants to work for a wrestling company

Me: So WWE is out of the question

Christian: Exactly

Me: I don’t know about this though. Right now the Main Event scene looks like a 14 car wreck at Bristol

Christian: Huh?

Me: Damn Canadians. The Main Event scene looks like a 6 on 5 powerplay because some team is down a goal so they pulled the goaltender for an extra attacker

Christian: Oh, 11 men and a goalie all in one little zone

Me: Exactly

Christian: Gotcha. But seriously, you bring this man in and I can promise you 3 things.

Me: I’m listening

Christian: The ratings will jump over the 1.0 mark, which means you can negotiate with SpikeTV for a better time slot

Me: I like that, but that’s why we brought in Sting

Christian: Ok, you bring this man in and Vince McMahon will take us serious. I know you don’t have a life and you watch Raw every Monday, you’ve seen him say that “There’s no where else to go.” You bring in this man, he won’t be saying that.

Me: I like that idea, but making Vince McMahon paranoid isn’t my goal

Christian: Ok, I saved the best for last. You bring this man in and Jeff Jarrett will throw a bitch fit that will rival Bret Hart

Me: Bingo. Ok, so how do I contact this man?

Christian: He’s going to call me sometime this week with a time and a place

Me: Sounds good. Now, who is the major acquisition you’re talking about?

Christian: What major acquisition?
