Shane Michaels...nice ring to it. This way you can still call the move Sweet Shane Music.
Just a little side note, maybe I missed this in one of the Impacts, but when did you say that the Konnan group changed their name, same with BG/Kip/Pac. I knew who BG/Kip/Pac were but had to read Konnan's group's name a few times. It just didnt register right away, maybe I missed it or you just forgot to mention the name changes.

Konnan just said "The New Crew" when he introduced Killings at the PPV but I didn't really mention it other than that. I probably should have made Tenay mention the members. I never called BG, Kip, and Pac the Degenerates until Impact but I figured most people would catch on to who they were.

I'll make the Shane Michaels name official at AAO.

January 29th 2006

So for New Years Revolution, Christian and Jericho came over and we completed the Jericho deal. This WWE PPV I was invited to hang out with three guys that were already the backbone of the company.

I arrived about 7:30 and knocked on the door. AJ Styles was kind enough to answer.

Styles: What’s going on? Come in

I walked in and saw Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels on the couch. AJ took a seat on the floor and I sat in the recliner.

Me: Nice of you to invite me Joe

Joe: Well it was you or Punk and Punk is probably doing the j-o-b right now so you were the odd man in

Me: Oh well, a win is a win. So, you guys still talk to Punk?

Joe: Yeah, about once a week or so. I’ve told him to come to TNA but he’s happy making the big bucks

Me: Damn, keep trying

Daniels: So who’s Hunter supposed to beat tonight?

Me: If you believe the internet, he’s going to lose in the Rumble

Daniels: Then who’s supossed to win?

Me: At first it was Orton but now it’s rumored to be Rey

Styles: So why the hell are we watching if we know the results?

Me: Wrestling’s greatest mystery

We then discussed some upcoming plans for all three men. For those wondering, Joe and Daniels didn’t appear on the past two Impacts because I gave them the tapings off. They put each other through a brutal match at Final Resolution and they deserved that Tuesday off. Didn’t affect my bookings one bit. After that the Royal Rumble began.

Helms Wins Cruiserweight Open: It was nice to see Helms get the belt after losing to Lawler at the last PPV. AJ had some choice words about Kid Kash during the match.

Ashley defeated Mickie: I paid attention to Ashley but not the match. Instead Joe was talking about some of his ROH work.

Boogeyman defeated JBL:

Daniels: Who let Christian make that Boogeyman comment last night? I thought that was funny stuff

Me: Come on Chris, you know I let the skilled mic workers improvise

Joe: So AJ, your one line was written last night?

We shared a nice little laugh over that, even AJ.

Rey wins the Royal Rumble:

Me: Got to love the internet.

We then discussed how Orton will Main Event Wrestlemania, how HHH will Main Event Wrestlemania, and Eddie Guerrero

Cena defeated Edge:

Joe: How come TNA doesn’t get me a cool entrance like that?

Me: Hey, I got the copyright to The Champ Is Here for you, just be happy your title reign has lasted longer than Edge’s

Angle defeated Henry:

Styles: How much do you think it cost for Undertaker to shoot lightning out of his hands?

Daniels: More than we make

Me: Well you know, I can ask management to release you to go and job to Mark Henry

Joe: Pshhh, the internet said they’re going to turn me into the next Rikishi

Me: Well do it for The Rock, do it for The People

After the event I stayed and chatted with them. We talked about doing another Joe/Daniels/Styles match and if it could top their match at Unbreakable last year. We also talked about Joe’s unbeaten streak and just the X Division in general. It’s always nice to share a night with guys who know wrestling and just good people all around.

January 31st 2006

Backstage at Impact Tapings

As usual, I arrived to the Impact Zone. I headed into the office to check the Internet for the latest rumors.

*WWE releases Tommy Dreamer

We all saw this one coming. Dreamer knew that if he showed up on a TNA PPV that Vince would be pissed enough to release him. I knew that as well, which is why if he ever needed a job, I told him to give me a call.

*WWE furious at Chris Jericho

Another one we all saw coming. He turns them down to come to TNA and then cuts a lengthy shoot promo on them. Jericho knew he was burning his bridges with WWE and I guess he didn’t think twice about it.

*WWE releases The Heart Throbs

I guess they got tired of having Kane and Big Show squash them. I can’t really judge their ability because it was always squash matches with these guys. I don’t see the point of bringing them in at this moment. Good luck to them in the future.

So all 3 news items affect us I guess but 2 are a dead issue and I have no interest in the other 1.

After everyone had arrived I walked into the locker room and talked with AJ Styles and Samoa Joe about the past, present, and future. It was a fun discussion until Jeff Jarrett pulled me aside. We went outside the locker room for a bit more privacy.

Jarrett: So, have you checked the slips?

Me: The firing slips? Nope

Jarrett: Why the hell not?

Me: Because I’ve got up until Against All Odds completely booked and I don’t want the slips to affect anything that’s already in me head

Jarrett: Then give me the slips, because I don’t give a damn what names are on them

Me: Listen Jeff, if it makes you happy, I’ll open the slips at the meeting following Against All Odds

Jarrett: You know, that would make me happy

Jarrett took off after that to go get ready.

I also took off to find Don West and Mike Tenay. I asked them what they thought of a 3 man booth instead of the current 2 man booth. Tenay didn’t seem to mind but I could tell that Don wasn’t really into the idea. After that combo, we got ready to tape the shows.

Results For The 2/4 Show:

*Samoa Joe defeats Jay Lethal & Roderick Strong

*Rhino & Team 3-D defeat Monty Brown & America’s Most Wanted

*Christian & Sting defeat Abyss & Jeff Jarrett

Results For The 2/11 Show:

*Ron Killings defeats Kip James

*AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels defeat Austin Aries & Petey Williams

*Abyss defeats Sting

Last week on Impact, the show closed with Christian Cage, Chris Jericho, and Sting in control of Jeff Jarrett and Abyss as Raven was seen clapping at the top of the ramp. This week Raven explains his actions and will be the Special Guest Referee in the Main Event that features Christian Cage and Sting taking on Jeff Jarrett and Abyss.

Also last week, it was announced that Monty Brown will take on Rhino in a Tables Match at Against All Odds. This week, The Alpha Male teams up with the NWA Tag Team Champions, America’s Most Wanted to take on The War Machine and Team 3-D.

The X Division Champion Samoa Joe has not been seen or heard from since his big title defense at Final Resolution. This week, Samoa Joe will be in action when he takes on Jay Lethal and Roderick Strong in 3 Way X Division Action.

Also this week on Impact, we will hear from The Degenerates as they speak on their problem with Konnan and The New Crew.

But that’s not all; Larry Zybsko has promised a HUGE announcement regarding the night after Against All Odds.

TNA iMPACT! On SpikeTV

“This Is TNA…The New Face In Professional Wrestling”

::The Impact Opening Video Plays::

::The camera goes to the Impact Zone where pyro goes off. We see Jay Lethal and Roderick Strong already in the ring as “The Champ Is Here” hits to a mixed reaction::

Tenay: Well after 2 weeks of absence, Samoa Joe has returned to TNA and he kicks off things here on Impact in 3 Way X Division Action

::Samoa Joe steps into the ring and holds the belt up::

Tenay: Wow, two weeks off and Samoa Joe showed no signs of ring rust in this one. Now lets head to the back where Shane Douglas is standing by with The Degenerates.

::Camera goes back where Douglas is with The Degenerates::

Douglas: Guys, you had Konnan and The New Crew beat at Final Resolution until Konnan got his team intentionally disqualified. Now at Against All Odds, you take on The New Crew in a Gang Street Fight. What are your thoughts on this?

BG James: Sugar Shane Douglas, I’ve got no problem with Konnan extending this little beef. See, he could have let it go at Final Resolution; he could have just given in. But Konnan just couldn’t do that now could he? Here’s what Konnan did do, he allowed Kip Jizzle, Sean Wizzle, and BG Jizzle to….

Kip James: Whip their asses one more time. See boys, you three are nothing but throw together rejects. You had nothing better to do so you decided to pick on the biggest and baddest stable in TNA.

Waltman: Us on the other hand, we go way back. We have history together, we know what trust is, and we know what friendship is.

BG James: And at Against All Odds, in the Gang Street Fight, we will show you boys that The Degenerates go beyond the mustache

Kip James: And If you’re not down with that, we got two words for ya….

::All 3 men do the “Suck It” taunt::

Commercials

::We return to hear “Most Wanted” hit the arena to a chorus of boos::

Tenay: Well folks we are back and it’s time for some 6 man tag action

::AMW comes out with the NWA Tag Team Titles and Gail Kim::

West: Well as usual, AMW never travels alone to the ring

::AMW get into the ring as “Alpha Male” hits to a chorus of boos::

Tenay: Well here comes the Alpha Male Monty Brown and I talked to him earlier today Don and he said he was very upset that he was overlooked by the Championship Committee regarding the Against All Odds Main Event

West: Well he’s got a chance to prove himself right here in this match.

::”Drop The Bombshells” hit to a huge reaction from the crowd::

Tenay: Don, this just in to our broadcast table, America’s Most Wanted will take on Team 3-D at Against All Odds in a match for the NWA Word Tag Team Titles.

West: Wow, that’s huge news Tenay and what a opportunity for Team 3-D to finally capture the one tag team title that eludes them

::Team 3-D stops at the bottom of the ramp as “War Machine” hits to a good pop::

Tenay: And here comes the man that will take on Monty Brown at Against All Odds in a Tables Match
