Re: TNA: Changing The Face Of Pro Wrestling

Nice preview man. Good to see Hoyt getting some air time, hopefully hes not in a squash.

Itll be intresting to see who the Number 1 Contender(s) will be. You've got a lot of options.

Jericho promo: really looking forward to that. I dont think he'll make any Jarrett jokes being as you and Double J are such good friends. Should be entertaining.

I'm thinking maybe Abyss v Christian for the NWA title

I mean to live my life an obedient man, but obedient to God, subservient to the wisdom of my ancestors; never to the authority of political truths arrived at yesterday at the voting booth.

::The crowd chants “Hoyt” as Lance Hoyt gets in the ring and plays to the crowd::

Tenay: Well we are going to kick things off with two big men in what promises to be nothing more than a brawl.

::”Black Hole” hits to huge heat from the crowd. Abyss, along with James Mitchell, steps out into the arena::

Tenay: Well here comes the man that entered number 1 in Hell On Earth and was the last man eliminated from the match.

West: Oh man Tenay; Abyss was an unstoppable monster at Final Resolution this past Sunday.

Tenay: What power by the big Texan

Hoyt bounces off the ropes, jumps, and connects with a leg drop on Abyss. Hoyt makes another cover. 1…….2..Abyss kicks out once again. Hoyt picks Abyss up once again and shoots him off into the corner. Hoyt charges in at Abyss and connects with a corner clothesline. Abyss stumbles out of the corner as Hoyt goes to the middle turnbuckle. Hoyt leaps off the middle turnbuckle and connects with a middle rope bulldog. Hoyt sees that Abyss is down but doesn’t go for the cover. Hoyt climbs up to the top rope. Hoyt looks back at Abyss, leaps, flips, and connects with a top rope moonsault on Abyss. Hoyt makes the cover. 1…….2…..Abyss kicks out again. Hoyt just gets fired up after the kick out. Hoyt picks up Abyss and shoots him into the ropes. Abyss bounces off the ropes and comes back at Hoyt. Winner – Abyss

Tenay: Wow, Lance Hoyt put up a fight but in the end, The Monster Abyss prevailed. Well Don West, after we get back from commercial break, we will hear for The Living Legend Larry Zybsko.

Commercials

::We return to see Shane Douglas in the office of Larry Zybsko::

Douglas: Larry, we all saw Final Resolution. We saw the in ring return of Sting and the surprise appearance of Chris Jericho. We also saw Raven earn a World Title shot by defeating Tommy Dreamer in a ladder match. Living Legend, the whole world wants to know, what is going on with the NWA Title Scene.

Zybsko: Everyone wants to know what’s going on with the NWA World Title picture Shane Douglas and I was meeting with the Championship Committee all day today Shane, and we came up with 5 challengers for Jeff Jarrett to face at Against All Odds.

Douglas: 5 challengers? There’s no way a normal match can hold 6 men battling for one belt.

Zybsko: That’s why it won’t be a normal match Shane. You see, these 6 men will face off in a Full Metal Mayhem match.

Douglas: Oh man, there’s only been one Full Metal Mayhem match in the history of TNA

Zybsko: And at Against All Odds, there will be 2.

Douglas: Ok Larry, but come on give us the 6 men in the match this week. I don’t think the world can wait any longer.

Zybsko: You know what Shane, just because I like you, I’ll tell the whole world the 6 men in the match. Of course we have the World Champion Jeff Jarrett. Now the Championship Committee and myself thought long and hard about the 5 challengers and here’s the list we came up with: The Man They Call Sting, Captain Charisma Christian Cage, Raven, The Monster Abyss, and Y2J Chris Jericho.

Douglas: Holy hell, I don’t think one arena can hold those 6 men.

Zybsko: Well trust me Shane, the Full Metal Mayhem Match won’t be for the weakened heart.

Commercials

::We come back with “Next Generation” hits to a good pop. Austin Aries comes out and the pop continues::

Tenay: Well this 3-Way X Division match is almost like an evolution X Division Match.

West: No kidding Tenay and Austin Aries feels that he is the now of the X Division.

::Aries slides in the ring as “Lethal” hits to a good pop::

Tenay: And here comes a TNA Newcomer and possibly the future of the X Division, Jay Lethal.

::Lethal comes out to a huge chant of “Lethal”::

Tenay: Well it seems as if Jay Lethal is already over with the Impact Zone crowd.

::Lethal slides in the ring as “Oh Canada” hits to a chorus of boos. Petey Williams comes out with Scott D’Amore::

Tenay: Well it looks as if Petey Williams learned his lesson from Final Resolution as Scott D’Amore wasn’t at ringside and Petey Williams was the first man out of 6 Points Of Impact.

::Petey Williams slides into the ring and plays to the crowd to more boos::

Austin Aries vs. Jay Lethal vs. Petey Williams

All three men circle around each other before they engage in a triple lock up. Petey goes behind Lethal and locks in a hammerlock. Aries goes behind Petey and locks in a sleeper. Petey keeps Lethal locked in and gets back up to a standing base. Aries gets up and charges at Petey. Aries takes down Petey with a running STO as Petey takes down Lethal with a russian leg sweep. Aries gets up and goes to the top rope. Aries calls for the 450 Splash. D’Amore gets on the apron and distracts Aries. Petey gets up and shakes the ropes, crotching Aries on the top turnbuckle. D’Amore gets off the apron as Aries falls off the turnbuckle. Petey gets up, picks up Aries, scoops up Aries, and puts him in the tree of woe. Petey climbs to the middle rope, puts on foot of Aries crotch, and his hand of his heart. Petey sings the Canadian National Anthem as he steps on the crotch of Aries. Winner – Austin Aries

Tenay: Wow, another big win for Austin Aries

Commercials

::We return to see Shane Douglas backstage with Alex Shelley::

Douglas: Ladies and Gentlemen I am standing here with the current Number One Contender to Samoa Joe’s X Division Title, Alex Shelley. Alex, you won a huge 6 Points Of Impact match, how did you pull it off?

Shelley: How did I pull it off? Shane, I told the whole world I would pull it off but nobody believed me. I told everyone that I had stock footage off all 5 of my opponents but nobody believed me. The whole world saw that Alex Shelley is in deed Talent On Loan From God. I had a counter for any and everything they threw at me. And Samoa Joe, I have a counter for everything you throw at me. Go ahead Joe; try to hit the Muscle Buster in our match. I’ve got 12 different counters and I can turn 3 of them into submissions. Shane Douglas, Samoa Joe is scared of Alex Shelley. Is Samoa Joe here tonight? Of course he’s not here, because he heard that Alex Shelley was in the building. And if Samoa Joe was here, I’d beat him down right now. Shane Douglas, I have no fear. If Samoa Joe came up to me, I’d beat his belly like a drum and take his belt. Samoa Joe needs to realize that the X Division is for Extraordinary Workers, not overweight guys that need slim fast. No what I’m saying Shane?

Douglas: Those are your words, not mine. Mike, Don, back to you.

::The camera goes back to Don West and Mike Tenay::

Tenay: Wow, a very cocky Alex Shelley if I do say so myself.

::”War Machine” hits to a huge pop. Rhino comes out and beats his chest::

Tenay: Well folks, it’s time for our Main Event.

::Rhino slides in the ring as “Alpha Male” hits to a chorus of boos::

West: Tenay, these guys went through Hell On Earth this past Sunday. I highly doubt they are in 100% physical condition for this match.

::Monty Brown gets in the ring::

Rhino vs. Monty Brown

Rhino attacks Monty Brown right as he enters the ring. Brown fights back with right hands. They both trade right hands in the middle of the ring. Rhino knocks down Brown with a big right hand. Brown gets up and goes right back down after a clothesline from Rhino. Brown gets up again and gets knocked down by another clothesline from Rhino. Brown gets up and Rhino catches him with a boot to the gut doubling him over. Rhino stuffs Brown between his legs. Rhino goes to lift Brown for a piledriver but Brown fights it off. Brown reverses the piledriver with a back body drop. Rhino gets up and Brown knocks him down with a shoulder block. Rhino gets up again and Brown connects with another shoulder block that sends Rhino to the outside. Brown follows Rhino to the outside. They each trade punches on the outside. Rhino gets the advantage and fires off a series of right hands. Rhino shoots Brown into the railings. Rhino beats his chest and plays to the crowd. Brown comes off the railing and knocks Rhino down with a clothesline. Brown picks up Rhino and scoops him up. Brown drops Rhino right across the announce table. Brown goes over and picks up a chair. Brown walks back over to Rhino and lifts the chair over his head. Brown kicks Rhino in the gut forcing him to drop the chair. Rhino fires off punches to the head of Brown. Rhino goes to shoot Brown into the railing but Brown reverses sending Rhino into the railing. The railing has no effect on Rhino as he just bounces off of it, charges at Brown, and connects with a flying shoulder block. Rhino picks up the chair and swings at Brown as he gets up. Brown ducks the chair shot by Rhino. Brown takes the chair away from Rhino. Brown stabs Rhino in the gut with the chair. He swings the chair at Rhino but Rhino catches him in the gut with a kick forcing him to drop the chair. Rhino picks up the chair and smashes it over Brown’s head.

Tenay: The ref has lost all control of these two men

Rhino and Brown trade punches on the outside. Brown shoves Rhino into the ring post. Brown picks up the chair and smashes it over the head of Rhino. The ref calls for the bell.

Winner – Double DQ

The bell continues to ring as security comes from backstage to break up the brawl.

Commercials

::We return to see a highlight video of Final Resolution::

Tenay: Ladies and Gentlemen, if you missed Final Resolution make sure to catch the replay all week on In Demand PPV because it was a HUGE event

::The lights in the arena go out to a huge pop::

Tenay: And if you missed Final Resolution, you missed the debut of this man

::A huge explosion goes off turning the lights on and cueing up “Break The Walls Down” to an even bigger pop::

Tenay: You missed the TNA debut of….CHRIS JERICHO!!!!!!

::Jericho has his back to the crowd and his arms stretched out. Jericho turns around and pumps his fist. Jericho looks around as the crowd starts a “Welcome Chris” chant::

Tenay: And as you can hear, the crowd absolutely loves this man

West: Well Mike, he is a huge rock star around the world.

::Jericho gets in the ring and is handed a mic::

Tenay: Oh man, I never though I would hear this

Jericho: Welcome to IMPACT IS JERICHO!!!!!!! Now I know the question on everyone’s mind. I’ve been bombarded everyone I have gone since Sunday. There have just been paparazzi everywhere. I tried to walk my dog this morning, paparazzi. I tried to eat breakfast this morning, paparazzi. Hell, I even tried taking a shower this morning and there were even paparazzi there.

::Some ladies in the crowd scream::

Jericho: Don’t worry; I’ve got candid shots for you baby. It seems as if everyone in the world wants a mug shot, and who can blame them? Of the newest TNA star. But the thing is, these aren’t normal paparazzi. These paparazzi talk and ask questions. When I was eating my breakfast, they wanted to know if Chris Jericho poured his milk or his cereal first. They wanted to know every little detail in the life of Chris Jericho. But the one thing they wanted to know the most was…Why TNA? They all wanted to know, why Chris, why did you choose TNA over WWE. Why did you leave a hefty sum of money for what they consider “the second company”? And you know what I told them? Better gas mileage.

Tenay: Haha, well that is true Don.

Jericho: But that wasn’t the only reason Chris Jericho left WWE for TNA. You see ever since November, my buddy Christian Cage had pestered me week after week. “Chris, you’ve got to come to TNA man” and I told him that I would think about it. He called back a week later. “Chris, TNA is headed to the top man, they wrestle here” and I told him to give me more time. Another week passed and he called back. “Chris, TNA is bringing in Sting and they really want to bring you in” so I told him give me one more week. So he called one last time. “Chris, come on man give me an answer” and I told him that if he bought WWE New Years Revolution for me, I would come to TNA. Well Christian was faced with a dilemma. Of course he wanted me to come to TNA but who in their right mind would spend 35 dollars on a WWE Single Brand PPV? Especially if Chris Jericho isn’t on the show. But Christian manned up and coughed up 35 dollars to see his “brother” win the World Title. So he stuck to his word and I stuck to mine. Oh, but that’s not the only reason that Chris Jericho came to TNA. No you see, I was tired as hell going out there every single night and busting my ass and getting nothing in return. People think I sold my soul to the devil when I became the first ever Undisputed Champion and I probably did. Because ever since I lost the title at Wrestlemania 18, I was stuck doing nothing in WWE. I was put in a feud with Triple H and we all knew who was going over there. Then I had to carry a rookie John Cena great match after great match. Then “because of all my hard work” WWE decided that I was good enough for the secondary title. Thanks guys. Oh then I get put in a nice little program with “My Idol” Shawn Michaels. Note to WWE, I was putting on great match after great match in Japan while Shawn Michaels was rockin out with Marty. After that, WWE told Christian and Myself to go out there and just have fun with Trish. Oh and trust me when I tell you this, nobody had more fun with Chris Jericho, than Trish, if you know what I mean. So Christian and Myself went out at Wrestlemania 20 and tore the house down. Then, it was all down hill. I had no direction and Christian had no direction. They put us both in a bunch of meaningless matches and told us “It will benefit you in the long run.” And it almost did. Except the long run involved Super Cena. And NOBODY was going to beat Super Cena. I mean, if Chris Jericho and Christian can’t beat Super Cena in a Triple Threat match, Superman himself can’t beat Super Cena. So Christian did what he had to do, he left. And I took time off. Then, I turn on Spike TV every Saturday and I see Rhino, then I see The Former Dudley Boyz, and then by god I finally see Christian Cage himself. But that’s not all I saw….I was seeing dead people.

The crowd gets a laugh out of that

Jericho: And I saw WRESTLING! I saw guys like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, America’s Most Wanted, and a bunch of others come out here every week and wrestle. I didn’t see a ref try to hang himself or a grown man pull things out of another man’s ass or the use of Eddie Guerrero’s name in every damn sentence. So I thought to myself where better than TNA?

Crowd: NOWHERE!!!!!

Jericho: Exactly. And Chris Jericho is in TNA for the long haul baby. He’s not a flash in the pan. He’s not making a Hulk Hogan appearance. He’s not coming in, beating a top worker, collecting his check, and leaving. Chris Jericho is TNA until he dies BECAUSE, and sorry for stealing this Christian but…..THAT’S HOW I ROLL!!!

Show Ends

Re: TNA: Changing The Face Of Pro Wrestling

Very good Impact

Glad that you did not have Hoyt get squashed, but it was still good to have Abyss go over. Good Match.

Full Metal Mayhem should be great for AAO.

Loved the triple threat X Division match, good to see Aries go over

I am feeling Brown vs Rhino at AAO after that Double DQ

I absolutley loved the Jericho promo

Great show

Re: TNA: Changing The Face Of Pro Wrestling

January 22nd 2006

As usual, I was up early to review my booking choices on the recent Impact episode:

Good

1. Chris Jericho: After that promo, he is TNA until he dies. Just shot after shot on WWE and their booking. Hey, I’m not going to complain about it though, it made for great TV. Chris Jericho just makes booking simple on me. Glad to have him on board.

2. Alex Shelley: Our promo guys were on last night. Shelley cut the promo that I wanted him to cut. He showed no fear towards Joe and told everyone how great he was. The only thing I wish I did different was to have Joe cut him off at the end. I know Alex would have given me a priceless reaction to that.

3. Full Metal Mayhem: It’s really just TLC with another name but that’s all I wanted it to be. I wanted these guys in a ladder match simply because I am a ladder match mark. Now it’s a ladder match with the implications on the other weapons. Should be fun to watch.

Bad

1. Match Length: Everyone just seemed short last night. That’s partially my fault because I didn’t give Jericho a set time for his promo. I told him to take as much time as he wanted and basically based the entire show around his promo. The matches were still pretty good but just came off too short.

2. No Fallout: That’s the problem with a 1-hour show; I’ve got no time to talk about the PPV fallout. Guys like Daniels, Styles, Skipper, and other match losers got no time to talk about their loss and what not. I basically have to give a quick mention of the PPV and start building to the next one.

I guess that’s all for the good and bad. Overall I thought it was a good show but there is always room for improvements. Everything was looking good at this point. We got a big name in Chris Jericho, we were just coming off a successful PPV, and my on paper card for Against All Odds was looking good. I guess good news travels in bunches.

My Comments: Next post will probably come later tonight. The next show will probably be up by Friday, Saturday at the latest.

Full Metal Mayhem? I gotta admit, I was a little disapointed when you threw al six guys in the Title match, and a TLC rip off at that. If you wanted to have the ladder in the match, why not just do King of the Moutain?
The longer Jericho's promo went the more I didnt like it. Taking one or two shots at WWE is fine, but I think you went a little overkill there. I did like Shelley's intreview. I liked how he showed no fear about facing the "Undefeated Samoan Submission Machine". Shelley's promo was the best part of this Impact.

I didn't do KOTM just for the simple fact that I can't stand the match. Full Metal Mayhem wasn't my first choice (my first choice was to come up with something completely original) but again, I'm a ladder match mark so I really wanted to do a 6 person ladder match just for the hell of it. Plus a ladder match can make for good drama in a World Title Match, espcially with 6 people.

Yeah, I'll admit I went overkill with the Jericho promo and really giving a history lesson and what not but it was just me venting my personal frustration with WWE's booking of Jericho. The promo I had done in my head before I went to sleep the other night was much better, I just lost it in my sleep I guess. Oh well, I cleared the WWE air with Jericho and now I can focus on booking him correctly.

Yeah, I was really excited about Shelley's promo. He's probably my favorite character to book right now with his whole Shelley Cam gimmick.

Sorry to disappoint so much SIAG

Re: TNA: Changing The Face Of Pro Wrestling

January 22nd 2006

I had just finished my Impact review when the phone rang.

Me: Hello

Voice: Lambert, it’s Scott.

Me: What’s going on man?

D’Amore: Huge news, we’re going prime time

Me: No shit?

D’Amore: I bullshit you not. The only bad thing is that it’s a one night gig on February 13th.

Me: Wait, that’s the night after Against All Odds

D’Amore: Yeah, USA is running some stupid ass dog show instead of WWE Raw so Spike TV decided to put us on from 9-11 that night. And get this, it’s going to be live.

Me: So the night after Against All Odds, we get two hours of live television in prime time?

D’Amore. Yup and if Spike likes what they see, we may get a permanent prime time slot. So kid, you better pull out all the stops for Against All Odds and the night after because this could be our biggest break to date.

Me: Scott, I got this shit under control man. I’ll show fans that wrestling still exists on Monday Nights.

D’Amore: That’s what I like here kid.

After that, Scott hung up. Talk about some damn pressure. Not only did I have to deliver a huge PPV, I had to deliver a huge night after. The question is, how big do I want to go?

My Comments: Impact Preview could be up tonight and again the show will be up Friday, Saturday at the latest.

Re: TNA: Changing The Face Of Pro Wrestling

I'm happy to make my 1,000th Post overall in this BTB thread:

From TNAWrestling.Com:

1/28 iMPACT! Preview

Last week on Impact, Larry Zybsko announced a 6 Man Full Metal Mayhem Main Event at Against All Odds.
