Nige’s Raw Feedback

Great way to start the show after what went down with Shane last week. I really wanted to find out why he did it, but look at you, you little tease, keeping us waiting. Jericho as Vince’s son has been brilliant so far as he has really stirred the pot and made things more interesting, and entertaining. The escalation of the heat between them was great here as it eventually boiled over, nice promo

A good idea on how to find a new number one contender for the IC title. RVD and Morrison have had heat for a while and it was a very good match up to say the least. With Punk a nailed on winner against Thorn, I had an inkling that Morrison would take this one, which he did in typical heel fashion. Well booked and well written match

Man you can really write for Austin! This was hilarious, especially the bit with Estrada, really funny. Shelton & Haas getting their match is cool, despite the face they’re not getting their belts back in a million years

Melina getting a win over Candice was sort of an upset for me, but it shouldn’t be. You’ve given the right diva the win here as she is more entertaining that Candice. The Holly/Carlito promo was funny, and man, I would have loved to have seen that slap from Hardcore. You booked him well, showing he doesn’t take crap from anyone, even the cocky Carlito who was funny here too

Punk & Thorn was a really good match as it swing both ways with some close calls too. The outcome was obvious, but it was a plus for Thorn that he got some offence in here and didn’t look like a formality to lose. Punk is obviously going to beat Morrison to face Carlito now though, which will be “COOL”

Austin promo was funny again, as he just takes no shit from anyone, just like real life. RVD bitching and moaning could set up a heel turn, but what a match he has next week. I like that you’re making RVD prove his worth, but LOL at The Coach. It was so what Austin would do IRL, brilliant man. The DTA memories come flooding back

Shelton & Haas beating Cryme Time was a little unexpected, but it was cool that they did it by cheating. The question that we were left with was more important than the match as I wanted to see what happened with the belts. I can’t believe you auctioned the belts off to the crowd, what the hell happens now? Wow, very interesting

Triple H interview was really good, entertaining as ever with a fired up Trips. Coach being wheeled past and asking for his mummy was funny, but I think you should have had Trips stay where he was, I mean hasn’t Coach had a rough couple of weeks anyway without that? Na, you’re right, nice one! The match went the way I expected with Estrada wanting to get the glory, giving the opportunity that the face team needed to get the win they needed without making Umaga look weak. Well booked again man, I think you’re proving yourself with the sensible booking and your ability to think outside the box

Carlito/Holly match up was good, but the finish was justified by what I said before about your booking ability. Adding to the tension between Cody & Holly even more by this mix up. A great way to carry the tension forward man, seriously impressed with the work you’re doing

Cena interview was real good as you pretty much spelt out that was going to be tension between him and Jericho. You’re certainly making things a lot more interesting by keeping us guessing what is going to happen with not just this situation, but with the tag titles and Shane too. The Shit Happens line though, not sure Cena would say that unless a turn was on the cards

Real good main event, that turned into chaos and quite rightly so. Shane just seems untouchable and is in the right place at the right time yet again to give Jericho the win. It was awesome that you put some tension between Cena and Jericho too to end the show, and also that you had Shane break it up

Man, I can’t say enough how impressed I am with this show and thread in general. I would have to say that is my favourite thread and the best I read as you have a realistic roster and use it so well. The characterisation and the ability to do something different in promos is terrific

WWE Smackdown!
Dayton Ohio
5th October 2007

“Rise Up” by Drowning Pool hits as the Smackdown Video package plays before we head out to the arena where we see thousands of screaming fans. The camera pans amongst them before finally going over to Michael Cole and JBL at ringside.

Michael Cole: Welcome to Friday Night Smackdown, from Dayton Ohio. I’m Michael Cole, as always alongside JBL. Just two weeks before the next WWE PPV No Mercy. And tonight we are going to witness the contract signing, for the Undertaker versus Batista, Hell in a Cell Match at No Mercy.

JBL: Those two biggest of rivals are going to be in the same ring, at the same time something has to give.

Cole: Also both men will be in Wrestling Action tonight; Undertaker’s match has not yet been confirmed. But Batista will be teaming up with his long time friend Ric Flair to take on Chavo Guerrero and Kenny Dykstra.

JBL: What a match that is going to be Michael, but what a way to start the show with the most Ballin show in all of Sports Entertainment, the VIP Lounge.

We then go to the ring where the VIP Lounge is already set up, and MVP is already in the ring with both his United States and Tag Team Championships over his shoulders. MVP drops both off his championships onto the couch, and he picks up a mic.

We then go to the ring where the VIP Lounge is already set up, and MVP is already in the ring with both his United States and Tag Team Championships over his shoulders. MVP drops both off his championships onto the couch, and he picks up a mic.

MVP: How are all my playas doing tonight in Dayton Ohio!

Crowd Pops

MVP: You should all be feeling good, because when I am in the ring it only means one thing. That big things are popping, and little things are stopping. And do you know what I am also feeling very good tonight. Because I know in roughly…..say two hours. I am going to get the first plane out of Dayton Ohio!

Big heat

MVP: And before I introduce my guest for this edition of the VIP Lounge. I would like to introduce you to my co presenter in this edition of the VIP Lounge. He is my partner; he is in fact the man who I share the Tag Team Championships with. Show your love for Matt Hardy!

“Oh Yeah” hits and Matt Hardy comes down to the ring to a big pop from the crowd. Hardy comes down, with cuts and bruises on his face. Hardy gets in the ring and immediately locks eyes with MVP. MVP realises that Matt Hardy is looking pissed off.

MVP: Matt Hardy you sit down and look prett, oh sorry I forgot about your face, you look pretty ugly at the moment with all those bruises and cuts on your face.

Matt Hardy gets even more wound up by that comment and he gets in MVP’s face, and MVP quickly backs off.

MVP: Hey just kidding Matt, that’s what buddies do Matt. They mess around and have a bit of fun. But Matt your obviously not in a very good mood, so you just sit down while I introduce the guest.

Hardy refuses to sit down, to which MVP tries to ignore.

MVP: Ladies and Gentleman let me introduce at this time, the man who…..

Suddenly Matt Hardy snatches the mic off MVP, which gets a pop.

Hardy: Before you move on, we need to talk.

Crowd Pops, as MVP gulps knowing what is coming.

Hardy:Last week, I was supposed to get a one on one match for your United States Championship, but moments before my match somebody attacked me backstage meaning that I couldn’t get a title shot. And MVP, I think I have an idea who attacked me, and that person I have in mind is…….YOU!

Crowd Pops as MVP’s mouth opens wide in shock.

MVP:Hang on Matt; you actually think that I did this? Why would I back out of match with you by attacking you backstage? Matt I could beat you with my hands tied around my back, my legs tied together and blindfolded at the same time because quite simply, I am Half Man Half Amazing!

Crowd Boos

MVP: Now Matt if you want to know who attacked you last week, look no further than the men who attacked me after my match with Kane last week, Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von. Last week they took both of us out to send us a message that they are coming after OUR Tag Team Championships. Matt if it was me, you would be in a lot worse shape than you are right now, TRUST ME!

Big heat as Hardy gives out a smirk.

Hardy: Well MVP as much crap that is coming out of your mouth, you don’t need to worry because no matter what I think I am not out here to get my revenge. I am out here to put things right. You see MVP; you are going to accept my challenge for you to put up your United States Championship at No Mercy. Or these cuts and bruises on my face will be nothing compared to what you look like, if you reject my challenge!

Huge pops as MVP looks on at Hardy in shock, not too happy that Hardy just threatened him.

MVP: Matt as much as I would like to prove that I am better than you, once again. The thing is I presumed that we would both want revenge for what happened last week, so that’s why I had a little chat with T.Long. We chatted for a little while, and he made a match for No Mercy. You see me and you are going to defend our Tag Team Championships against Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von!

The crowd boos, as they would of rather seen Hardy v MVP at No Mercy. Matt Hardy frowns at MVP who gives out a slight smile. The tension between the two men is then cut off as “Booyaka 619” hits and Rey Mysterio comes out to a thunderous ovation. Mysterio makes his way down to the ring and takes a mic. MVP looks glad that Mysterio has come down, as it stops the confrontation between him and Matt Hardy.

MVP: Rey Mysterio welcome to the VIP Lounge. Now Rey Mysterio there is a lot of questions I want to ask you. But let’s get straight to the most important question. Rey how does It feel to be standing in the same ring as greatness, how does it feel to be standing in the same ring as the man who is a Legend in the Making, how does it feel to be standing in the same ring as MVP?

Mysterio: It…..

MVP: You don’t even deserve to answer that!

Crowd Boos

MVP: Rey Mysterio it is a disgrace, it is a disgrace that a loser like you gets ANOTHER, World Heavyweight Title Shot while World Class Athletes like me are held back. Rey how many times Is that you have lost to Edge, two times. You are a LOSER REY….

Mysterio: How about we prove who the loser is right here right now.

Crowd Pops

Mysterio: The matter of fact is that the first time Edge cheated to beat me, and the second time I wasn’t the one who Edge beat. Nobody remembers the first or the second time, all everybody remembers is the third time. And the third time is the time, when I am going to beat Edge and become World Heavyweight Cham…..

“Metalingus” hits and Edge steps out onto the top of the ramp dressed for a fight. Edge starts talking trash to Mysterio, who challenges Edge to come down to the ring. As Edge makes his way down to the ring MVP and Matt Hardy are attacked from behind, by Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von. This distracts Rey for long enough, so that Edge can get into the ring and he starts attacking Edge. However Mysterio starts fighting back and he sets Edge up for the 619, but Edge moves out of the way at the right time. Meanwhile Matt Hardy fights back against Elijah Burke and tosses him to the outside of the ring, and Hardy then saves MVP from being Pounced by Marcus Cor Von. We then go to our first commercial break, as Mysterio, MVP and Matt Hardy in the ring look down the ramp at Edge, Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von.

Commercial Break

Cole: Welcome back to Friday Night Smackdown, and after what just happened before the break. Teddy Long has made a huge 6 man tag team main event. As Edge teams up with the New Breed to take on Rey Mysterio, Matt Hardy and MVP.

JBL: What a huge match this is going to be Michael, six of the best athletes in the WWE in the same ring later tonight.

Kid Kash’s music hits and Kash comes out to a nice pop from the crowd. As Kash makes his way down to the ring, Michael Cole announces that the first match in the best of seven series between Jamie Noble and Kid Kash will take place in nine days time at No Mercy. Kid Kash enters the ring, with Frankie Kazarian staring him down having already made his entrance.

Match 1
Singles Match
Frankie Kazarian v Kid Kash

With Kid Kash’s first match with Jamie Noble in the best of seven series in just nine days time, Kid Kash warmed up for the match with an impressive display against a tough Frankie Kazarian. Despite Kazarian getting a lot of offence in the match, it never looked as though Kid Kash would lose the match. It was a very quick paced match with a lot of near falls, the closest coming when Kid Kash connected with the Money Maker, with Kazarian putting his foot on the bottom rope at two. The end of the match saw Frankie Kazarian set Kash up for the Back to the Future. But Kash slid off Kazarian’s shoulders and connected with the Dead Level. Kash then climbed up to the top rope and connected with the Frog Splash, for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Kid Kash in 6:13

Cole: What a victory for Kid Kash, he is on a roll at the moment JBL, and at this rate the best of seven series will only go four matches because Jamie Noble has yet to beat Kid Kash.

JBL: That was impressive Cole, and yes Jamie Noble has yet to beat Kid Kash. But when the lights are on bright, and the title is on the line that is when Jamie Noble is at his best. At No Mercy Kid Kash and Jamie Noble are going to tear each other apart, and they might have to do it six more times after that.

We then go backstage to see Batista in the main Locker Room staring at a Poster of The Undertaker on the Wall. Batista starts to breath heavily as he looks at the poster in rage.

???: Hey how’s it going big man?

Batista then turns around to see Ric Flair, which gets a big “Whoo from the crowd”. Batista and Flair being good friends share a hug.

Flair: Hey Champ we got a big match tonight, I can’t wait to get my hands on Chavo Guerrero, for the disrespect he showed me last week I am going to kick the Living Hell out of him WHOOO!

Crowd responds to Flair’s Whoo, as Batista smiles but carries on looking at The Undertaker’s poster. Ric Flair sees this.

Flair: Hey Champ you needn’t worry about The Undertaker. Yeah you haven’t beat the Undertaker, yeah The Undertaker is one of the Greatest Superstars of all time. But when me and Hunter brought you into Evolution, we didn’t do that because you were a big tough strong man. We brought you in, because we saw the Talent in you. We noticed that you would be the future of the WWE. I know you can beat The Undertaker, and Big Man at No Mercy that’s what you are going to do.

Batista smiles as we hear a bit of heat for that comment.

Flair: But there’s one thing you need to do Dave. I think you need to calm down, because in your current state of mind you are not going to beat The Undertaker.

Batista eyes suddenly open in wide at shock at Flair’s comment.

Batista: Hang on did I hear you just correct? You think I need to calm down? Well let me tell you what I think, I think you need to shut your mouth!

Flair’s mouth opens wide in shock at Batista’s attitude.

Batista: Ric I appreciate the advice. But quite frankly I don’t need it. Ric you can doubt me all you like, you’re just like everybody who thinks that I can’t beat The Undertaker. But at No Mercy I am going to prove to you, and the whole world that I am better than The Undertaker.

Heat

Batista: (Intensely says, staring hole through Ric Flair) I am going to beat The Undertaker, and I am going to do it in his own backyard!

Commercial Break

When we get back from commercial we can see Chris Masters making his entrance down to the ring.

“You Will Remember Me” hits and Chuck Palumbo comes down to the ring, as always riding on his motorcycle. He circles the ring and parks it on the ramp, before entering the ring and locking his eyes on Chris Masters.

Match Two
Singles Match
Chris Masters v Chuck Palumbo

This was your typical match between two brawlers, with a lot of punches and kicks thrown throughout. Palumbo took it to Masters straight from the start, pounding away at him into the corner with a string of hard right hands, before taking him down with a Clothesline followed by a Big Boot. Chuck went for the victory too early however, as he went for the Superkick on Masters, who simply ducked it and back body dropped Palumbo over the top rope to the outside. Chris Masters then started to work over the back of Chuck Palumbo, after originally scooping him up and ramming him spine first into the Steel Ring Post. Chris Masters did a very effective job of keeping Palumbo on the mat, working over his back so he can finish the match with his finisher. But Palumbo fought back into it after catching Masters off the ropes with an Overhead Belly to Belly Suplex. Chuck Palumbo then went full throttle, going through his move set on Masters. Early on in the match Chris Masters undid the turnbuckle padding, and in the end that helped Masters to victory. Palumbo charged up at Masters, who moved out of the way causing Palumbo to go spine first into the Unprotected Turnbuckle. Masters then sneaked from behind and locked on the Masterlock. After a few moments of fighting, Palumbo finally gave up giving Masters the win.

Winner: Chris Masters in 6:18

After the match Chris Masters refuses to let go of the Masterlock, and only lets go when a second referee comes down to the ring to tell Masters to get off. Chris Masters celebrates his victory as we go backstage.

We then go backstage to see Teddy Long talking on his Mobile Phone, when the Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble comes in with a big frown on his face. Teddy Long finishes his phone call, and turns his attention to Jamie Noble.

Long: Hey what’s up Playa, what’s the matter Jamie?

Noble: What’s the matter? Teddy Long are you out of your mind? Teddy Long what the Hell were you thinking, when you put me in a best of seven series against Kid Kash huh? What has Kid Kash ever done to deserve seven matches, with the greatest Cruiserweight Champion of all time, Jamie Noble!

Crowd Boos

Long: What has he done to deserve seven matches with you?

Noble: Yes answer that one Teddy.

Long: Jamie what Kid Kash has done, is beat you three weeks in a row.

Crowd Pops as Noble laughs sarcastically

Noble: What are you talking about Teddy, I think you have been around Rey Mysterio too much, because you don’t speak Mexican you speak English. Kid Kash has never beat me fair and square! I demand you to cancel this best of seven series, right now!

Crowd Boos

Long: Your right Jamie I don’t speak Mexican, I speak English and you better understand this Jamie. Since Kid Kash has had a warm up match for this best of seven series tonight, it is only right that you have a warm up match aswell.

Crowd Pops

Noble: I have no problem with that, I will take on anybody you want…

Long: That’s good because your opponent tonight is going to be……………THE UNDERTAKER!

Huge pops for this announcement as Jamie Noble can’t believe what he just heard, and is absolutely livid.

Noble: WHAT? THE UNDERTAKER? Teddy Long what in the hell are you thinking, I can’t face The Undertaker I’m too young to die! Come on Teddy, how about I face Michael Cole.

Long: Like it or not Jamie, this match is going to happen tonight. Actually Jamie, this match is going to be………NEXT!

Crowd Pops

Long: Now you can Holla that playa!

Noble: NO I CAN’T HOLLA THAT, THIS IS CRAP!

Jamie Noble then storms out of Teddy Long’s office slamming the door on his way out, as we go to a commercial break.

Commercial Break.

“Slam Smack” hits and Jamie Noble comes down to the ring, looking very nervous ahead of this upcoming match. Not happy that he has to face The Undertaker.

“Gong” hits and The Undertaker makes his way down to the ring to the biggest pop of the evening. As Undertaker and Jamie Noble were about to lock up, we saw Batista making his way down to the ring. The Undertaker saw this and he got himself ready for a fight with Batista, but referee’s rushed to Batista and pushed him back to the Locker room.

Match 3
Singles Match
Jamie Noble v The Undertaker

Jamie Noble got more offence in than he had any right to, but in the end The Undertaker was too big, powerful and good for the Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble. Jamie Noble very surprisingly straight from the go, attacked The Undertaker before the match even started taking Taker down with a Chop Block to the leg after Batista was sent to the back. Jamie Noble then started to work over Undertaker’s leg, even turning him over for the Boston Crab, but pretty quickly Undertaker got to the ropes. Jamie Noble then made a big mistake, which allowed Taker into the match, as he set up Taker for the Tiger Bomb, and Undertaker easily countered with the Back Body Drop. Undertaker then steamrollered through Noble, going through his move set on the Cruiserweight Champion. Undertaker went to finish off the match with the Chokeslam, but in mid air Noble countered it into a Tornado DDT! Jamie Noble after countering Undertaker’s finisher started celebrating like he won the match, which turned out to be his downfall as The Undertaker then sat up. Undertaker then grabbed Noble by the throat and turned him upside down, connecting with the Tombstone Piledriver. Taker then made the cover and got the academic 1-2-3.

Winner: The Undertaker in 5:47

After the match The Undertaker does his normal post match routine as Michael Cole and JBL at ringside, say that’s what could happen to Batista at No Mercy.

We then go backstage to see Josh Matthews standing by Finlay who is met with some heat from the crowd.

Josh: Finlay, ever since unforgiven you have targeted Kane, you have cost Kane matches and you have continued to attack his injured leg with that Shillelagh. What I want to know is Finlay, what is your problem with Kane?

Finlay looks at Josh Matthews in a “Did he just say that” expression. Finlay then grabs Josh Matthews by the shirt and pushes him back against the wall.

Finlay: My Problem with Kane, is that at Unforgiven he cost me my chance to become the World Heavyweight Champion! I had that match won, but Kane screwed up. He being the loser he is, he got pinned by that winy blonde Jackass, Edge. Edge should not be World Heavyweight Champion; I should be the World Heavyweight Champion! Kane might be a monster Josh, but I love to fight. And if you think what I have done to Kane so far is bad, well just wait and see what I do to that big red freak tonight!

Finlay lets go off Josh and walks away from the interview scene, as Josh sorts out his suit.

Commercial Break

When we get back from commercial we see Kenny Dykstra making his way down to the ring. Dykstra comes down looking as cocky as ever, as Michael Cole and JBL talk about the victories Dykstra has got in recent weeks.

“Oooh Chavo” hits and Chavo Guerrero comes down to the ring to some heat from the crowd. Chavo once again mocks Ric Flair as he makes his way down to the ring, mocking Flair’s strut and giving out a few “Whooo’s”

“Whooo” hits and Ric Flair makes his way down to the ring to a big pop from the crowd. Flair doesn’t make his traditional entrance by styling and profiling, but instead just walks down into the ring with a face off intensity. He gets in the ring and goes straight after Chavo Guerrero, who flees out of the ring. Flair wants to go after Chavo, but the referee blocks his path.

“I Walk Alone” hits and Batista comes out to a huge reaction from the crowd, very half split however with lots of pops and lots of boos. Batista gets into the ring and he and Flair immediately have a stare down, Ric Flair taps Batista on the back with his hand and they shake hands as they start to talk match tactics ahead of this match.

Match 4
Tag Team Match
Batista and Ric Flair v Chavo Guerrero and Kenny Dykstra

An entertaining Tag Team Match, which saw Chavo Guerrero and Kenny Dykstra play a very smart game for the majority of the match, keeping Flair in the ring and not allow him anywhere near Batista so he can tag out. Chavo and Kenny worked over the leg of Ric Flair (Which was injured by Chavo last week), using some very effective double teaming, producing quick tags and keeping the freshest man in the ring at all times. Chavo Guerrero went to embarrass Flair in the biggest way possible, as he got Flair in his own finisher the Figure 4 Leg Lock. But as Flair went to grab the ropes, Kenny Dykstra came off the top rope with the Guillotine Leg Drop. Chavo went for the cover but Batista had finally snapped, and stormed the ring and broke the cover. Batista then took it to Chavo and Kenny, allowing Flair some time to recover. As Flair got to his feet, Batista got on the apron and Flair tagged him in. Batista continued to clear house, hitting Chavo and Kenny with high impact power Manoeuvres. The end of the match saw Batista hit Kenny Dykstra with a Spinebuster, before connecting with a Batista Bomb to Chavo right ontop of Kenny Dykstra. Batista then made the cover and picked up the three count.

Winner: Batista and Ric Flair in 7:50

After the match Batista celebrates his victory, and Ric Flair comes from behind to celebrate with him. But when Batista feels someone touching his back, he turns around and goes to hit the person, only to stop midway realising that it was Ric Flair. Then moments later the lights in the arena go off. Then a Lighting Bolt hits the ramp, and then the same video that has played over the last few weeks’ plays, showing The Undertaker’s history in Hell in a Cell Matches. Showing highlights off his matches with Shawn Michaels, Mankind, Rikishi and Brock Lesnar.

We then cut back to the ring to see a furious Batista. Ric Flair who is in the ring tells Batista to not let the mind games get into his head, as Batista breathes heavily in anger. Batista then looks at the referee who is still in the ring, before charging up at him and hitting him with the Spear. Batista then picks up the referee and hits him with a Devastating Batista Bomb. Batista is not finished yet however as he lifts the referee back up, and connects with a Second Batista Bomb. During all this Ric Flair is shouting at Batista to stop and calm down. Batista ignores Flair however and goes to lift the referee up again, but tons of referee’s and Road Agents come down to the ring. Batista however starts cleaning house taking some of them out with Clotheslines and Spears. Batista then challenges the rest of them to get in the ring, and try him but they saw what just happened, and they know better. Ric Flair then starts shouting at Batista what the hell is he doing? Ric Flair tells Batista he needs to calm down, saying that he just has to wait nine days to get his hands on The Undertaker. Batista, who now seems calm, looks at Ric Flair and nods his head knowing he went a bit too far. Batista then leaves the ring without Ric Flair, as we go backstage.

We go backstage to see Edge watching the monitor, with his tag team partners tonight Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von in the background, with Marcus Cor Von thumping away at a punching bag as Edge smiles at what he has just seen.

Edge: Did you guys just see that? Even if Batista beats The Undertaker to get a title shot against me at Survivor Series, he is going to be suspended by then anyway the stupid Jock.

Edge then turns around to see Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von who is still boxing the punching bag.

Edge: Now we need to talk about our match tonight. I have got a proposition that will interest the two of you.

Elijah: Ok what’s that?

Edge: I want you two to take out Rey Mysterio tonight in our little 6 man tag team match.

Crowd Boos

Burke: So what’s in it for us?

Edge: A shot at this baby

Edge shows off his World Heavyweight Title to both Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von.

Edge: So if you take out Rey Mysterio tonight, both of you will get will title shots in the future so you both in.

Elijah: Sure i'm in. Mark how bout you?

Cor Von: You damn right I am in. But Edge if we take out Mysterio, and we find out that you have been messing with us. We are going to take you out, and you are going to feel the……………POUNCE! PERIOD!

Elijah: You heard the man, so if i was you i would stick to your word.

Edge mouths “Pounce Period” giving a what the hell type look as we go to a commercial.

Commercial Break

“Power of the Punch” hits and William Regal makes his way down to the ring to some heat from the crowd, accompanied by the rest of the UKConnection consisting of Paul Burchill and Drew McIntyre. Regal shouts some orders to Burchill and McIntyre as they are in the ring, waiting for Regal’s opponent.

“Slow Chemical” hits and Kane comes out to a big pop from the crowd. Kane comes down to the ring with a big bandage wrapped around his knee. Kane steps into the ring, and sets off his pyros sending the UKConnection fleeing.

Match 5
Singles Match
Kane v William Regal with Drew McIntyre and Paul Burchill

We get a typical TV taping match here, with a lot of ground and pounding throughout this match, with Kane not really able to gain the momentum in the match thanks to Regal’s men McIntyre and Burchill. Every time Kane seemed to get in his stride, the numbers game came into play with one man on the outside distracting the referee, allowing one man to come in and attack Kane. Just like the last match there was a lot of work done onto an injured leg, this being Kane’s with William Regal knowing the damage Finlay has done to it in recent weeks. Regal went to lock on the Boston Crab to Kane who grabbed him by the throat. Kane looked to go for a Chokeslam, but once again McIntyre and Burchill got involved, which allowed Regal to take Kane down with a Chop Block. Regal then finally got Kane into the Boston Crab, and after a bit of struggle Kane got to the ropes. The second half of the match was dominated by Kane and late on Kane started cleaning house on all three members of the UKConnection, taking them down with Clotheslines, Big Boots and Diving Clotheslines off the top rope. Kane then showed off some impressive strength connecting with a Double Chokeslam onto both McIntyre and Burchill. Kane then went for the Chokeslam, when Hornswoggle comes from underneath the ring and distracts the referee. Finlay then comes down with Shillelagh in hand and goes to hit Kane with it once again, but this time Kane sees him and hits him with a Big Chokeslam. But from behind William Regal rolls Kane up and grabs the bottom rope for leverage, and Hornswoggle lets go off the ref who makes the three count, giving William Regal a Huge Upset Victory!

Winner: William Regal in 9:23

After the match Kane immediately goes to attack Regal who flees out of the ring and celebrates with the recovering Drew McIntyre and Paul Burchill. Kane then looks at Finlay on the outside, who is holding onto his head after that Chokeslam. Finlay’s face of pain turns into a smirk, as he cost Kane the match tonight despite not doing what he intended to. As Kane looks down at Finlay in a very pissed off tone, “MacMillitant” hits and Teddy Long comes out with a mic in hand.

Long: Finlay, Kane, you two want to fight so bad. Well I am going to give you that opportunity. Because at No Mercy, Finlay your going to go one on one with Kane!

The crowd pops the announcement, as Kane gives a very evil smirk knowing he can get his hands on Finlay at No Mercy. Finlay points at Kane, telling him he will see him at No Mercy.

No Mercy Commercial

Commercial Break

”Don’t Waste My Time” hits and the New Breed consisting of Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von come down to the ring to some big heat from the crowd. Elijah Burke throws his towel into the crowd, as Cor Von comes down to the ring with a face of intensity.

“Metalingus” hits and the World Heavyweight Champion Edge comes out to the biggest heat of the evening. He steps through the smoke and raises his title in the air setting off some pyros. Edge enters the ring and immediately starts having a team talk with Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von.

“Oh Yeah” hits and Matt Hardy comes out to a big pop from the crowd. Hardy comes down to the ring with his Tag Team Championship around his waist and as he gets into the ring, he stares down Burke and Cor Von who he now believes attacked him backstage last week.

“I’m Comin” hits and MVP comes out to some big heat from the crowd. He comes down to the ring looking as cocky and confident as ever. When he gets into the ring he goes over to Matt Hardy, and points to Elijah Burke and Cor Von, reminding Hardy that they took him out.

“Booyaka 619” hits and Rey Mysterio comes out to a huge pop from the crowd. Mysterio pops out from the ground, and makes his way to the ring slapping hands with fans at ringside.

Match 6
6 Man Tag Team Match
Elijah Burke, Edge and Marcus Cor Von v Matt Hardy, MVP and Rey Mysterio

We have a fairly long match to end the show, with these six men producing a very enjoyable six man Tag Team Match, with all six men getting a good amount of time in the ring to showcase their talents. The match started off with a big brawl between all six men, which saw the Heels flee to the outside, only to have Mysterio and Matt Hardy dive over the top rope to the outside ontop of them. The early stages of the match saw Rey Mysterio and Matt Hardy dominate the match, using their speed to the advantage. But some miscommunication between Tag Team Champions MVP and Matt Hardy occurred, when Cor Von sent Hardy crashing into MVP on the ring apron. This annoyed MVP and he and Hardy a few moments later started exchanging some words, only for Elijah Burke to come from behind with the Elijah Express to Matt Hardy. Matt Hardy then played the face in peril, as Burke, Cor Von and Edge started to work over Matt Hardy, keeping him as far away from his Tag Team Partners as possible. But Matt Hardy got his team back into the match, after he blocked a superplex attempt from Marcus Cor Von off the top rope, and he hit Cor Von with a Top Rope Side Effect. But Hardy was too weak too immediately make the cover and by the time he tagged in Mysterio, Cor Von had tagged in Edge. Edge had dodged Mysterio all throughout the match till now, and it proved to be no surprise as Mysterio took it to the WWE Champion. Mysterio dodged a Spear from Edge tripping him onto the bottom rope, and he went for the 619 only for Cor Von to get in the ring and takes Rey’s head off with a Clothesline. Things then turned ugly between the two teams, as another big six man brawl occurred between both teams. During the melee MVP went to hit Cor Von with the Tag Team Belt, but Cor Von ducked and MVP knocked out Hardy with the title belt. Marcus Cor Von and Burke then took MVP to the outside as Elijah Burke quietly tagged himself in. Mysterio however went straight for Edge, and once again set him up for the 619. Burke went to attack Rey from behind but also got tripped onto the Bottom Rope. Rey then hit both Edge and Burke with the 619, and then hit a Springboard Headbutt onto Burke and hooked the leg for the victory.

Winners: Matt Hardy, MVP and Rey Mysterio in 13:24

After the match Rey Mysterio celebrates in the ring, as Matt Hardy slowly gets to his feet and MVP gets into the ring. Straight away Matt Hardy gets in MVP’s face and argues with MVP, about MVP hitting him with the Title Belt. The two men then start a shoving contest, and they are about to go at it when Rey Mysterio splits the two men up. MVP leaves the ring telling Hardy it was an accident, as out of nowhere Edge spears Rey Mysterio! Edge then floods the ring, smiling that he has gotten the final word. Hardy checks up on Mysterio, before looking at Cor Von and Burke, and then MVP on the outside of the ring.

Then we cut to the ring, where we see Teddy Long standing in the ring with a mic in hand.

Long: In nine days time at No Mercy, we are going to witness the end of one of the most brutal feuds in WWE History. Because we are going to witness a HELL IN A CELL MATCH BETWEEN BATISTA AND THE UNDERTAKER!

Crowd Pops

Long: These two men have fought many times this year, including at the grand daddy of em’ all Wrestlemania. But next Sunday will be the last time these two men will face one another. And the winner of this match will go onto Survivor Series, to face the winner of the match between Edge and Rey Mysterio for the World Heavyweight Championship!

Crowd Pops

Long: And right now I would like to introduce the first combatant for this Contract Signing. This man is a former Tag Team Champion, a former Royal Rumble Winner, a two time World Heavyweight Champion. This man is the ANIMAL BATISTA!

“I Walk Alone” hits and Batista comes down to the ring to a huge mixed reaction from the crowd. Batista comes down to the ring, with tons of security guards coming behind obviously to make sure nothing happens between Batista and The Undertaker. Batista gets in the ring and immediately grabs the contract and signs it.

Long: Thank you Batista. Now I would like to introduce you to his opponent. This man is a former Hardcore Champion, a multi time former Tag Team Champion, a former winner of the Royal Rumble and a five time former World Heavyweight Champion. This man is the PHENOM, THE UNDERTAKER!

“Gong” hits and The Undertaker comes down to the ring, to a huge reaction from the crowd. As The Undertaker gets into the ring, Batista immediately gets up to his face and the two men lock eyes.

Long: Batista back off. If either of you two even dare to attack one another, the man responsible will be fined heavily and will be suspended!

Crowd Boos, as a big frown appears on Batista’s face. Batista eventually backs off, as Teddy Long grabs the contract and gives it to The Undertaker. The Undertaker looks at Batista and gives him the cut throat signal, before signing the contract.

Teddy Long: That’s it in nine days time Batista will face The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell Match! Now do either of you men have anything to say?

Batista then suddenly snatches the mic off Teddy Long.

Batista: Yeah I do Teddy. You see I might not be able to attack The Undertaker, but you never said………..I couldn’t attack YOU!

Then suddenly Batista kicks Teddy Long in the mid section and BATISTA BOMBS TEDDY THROUGH THE CONTRACT SIGNING TABLE! The Security Guards then flee into the ring and they all go after Batista, with one of them with handcuffs in his hands. Batista starts shouting at The Undertaker, daring him to hit him as he is handcuffed back. Batista then charges through the Security Guards with his handcuffs on, and he charges Undertaker into the corner. Before the two men can properly go at it, the Security Guards split the two men up with half of them taking Batista outside the ring. Undertaker goes to after him on the outside, but they block him off just like they do to Batista, not allowing him back into the ring. Then suddenly The Undertaker bounces off the ropes, AND HE DIVES OVER THE TOP ROPE ONTO BATISTA AND MANY SECURITY GUARDS ON THE OUTSIDE! The Undertaker then starts pounding away at Batista with closed fists, until the Security Guards can pull Taker off Batista. Smackdown then comes to an end, as Undertaker now at the top of the ramp stares down Batista at the bottom of the ramp.

Nige’s Smackdown Feedback

Sorry it’s a little bit delayed man, I’ve had a real shit day to say the least. A very explosive start to the show with an explosive promo. I think you went about the tension between MVP and Matt brilliantly as Matt sat back before cutting in at an important time. That was a really effective way of getting MVP’s attention, and the build up to the announcement about Burke & Cor Von at No Mercy. You’re stalling this brilliantly so that when we finally do get the match, it will be at the peak of its heat. Poor Rey getting bashed like that, but at least you had him took tough, something he doesn’t get much chance to do. The attack from behind gives Matt renewed focus to forget about MVP, but do I sense MVP will align himself with these guys soon?

You had it right when you said Kash never looked like losing the match, he never would. Kash vs Noble is something worth paying for and Kash getting a win before the best of seven series is exactly what the doctor ordered

Batista’s promo with Flair was really good, and don’t tell me you going to drag this out too, or maybe not. I thought Batista had fully turned, but you made it out like he was a tweener last week, but I like the attitude inside of him coming out, and at Flair of all people too. Very strong promo

Masters and Palumbo was a surprise for me to see, but it was a lot better than I expected. I sure didn’t anticipate a clean Masters win, I just wonder if this is the start of a push for him

Noble’s promo with Teddy was pretty good as you can just see Noble trying to do anything he can to get out of the matches against Kash. The only thing I don’t think he would say is that he is too young to die after Teddy made the match with Taker for later on, man is Noble getting squashed. The match up was academic, but I liked Batista’s intensity to try and get to the dead man. It’s nothing you see a lot, but it is very effective for Batista’s turn of sorts

Finlay’s interview was nice too, laughed a lot to the comment about Edge being whiny and blonde. I’m happy that you let him speak as it brings out his character far much more and shows that he isn’t just a jobber for the guys hoping to get past the upper mid card

Tag team match was very good too, waiting all match for the Batista turn, but it didn’t come. I particularly liked the spot with the figure four and the guillotine leg drop, very nice. The booking of Batista has been first class and for him to come on and dominate like this was totally the right decision, just wiping the floor with Chavo and Dykstra. The aftermath was just brilliant, and further strengthens the Batista push. I was waiting for him to turn on Flair, but good call for him to walk away after going too far, but not far enough to turn on Naitch

Edge’s interview with Burke was the perfect way to get Edge’s character across, proving he’s a coward, but a good one. I somehow have a feeling that Edge will lose to Rey tonight now as I think Rey needs the win but it would be awesome as hell to see Edge defend against Cor Von and Burke. Nice amusing finish too with Edge looking back at Cor Von’s line

Regal beating Kane was inevitable with the new and impressive team at ringside, with the extra bonus of having Finlay as someone to count on. The match played out perfectly for the ending to came about in the way it did. And no surprise we will see them go at it at No Mercy

Main event time and a thoroughly enjoyable and chaotic main event. I thought that this would be Rey’s night, slightly spoilt by Edge’s bargaining tool earlier on. Matt and MVP’s feud continues to be very intriguing, but I like this team of Burke and Cor Von

The contact signing came as a shock as I thought the show was over. I didn’t expect it after they both had matches tonight, couldn’t it have waited a week? The Batista Bomb on Teddy was a great way to get things started, and from there it was brilliant, the leap over the ropes is brilliant to see

Overall mate there wasn’t a part of the show I didn’t enjoy or like. The booking of Batista is just outstanding and I hope you get more credit than you are currently getting as you deserve it in a big way. No Mercy looks to be fantastic

WWE Raw
8th October 2007

Recap

*Opening video and pyro*

We then go over to JR and King who run down tonight’s show. They run down the matches tonight which include Umaga v RVD, Chris Jericho and John Cena v Cade and Murdoch, CM Punk v John Morrison and the Womens Title is on the line.

We start the show off with Santino Marella and Maria coming down to the ring for the first ever “Santino’s Casa”. Santino stepped into the ring, which had a very stereotypical Italian feel to it, with a replica of the leaning tower of piza, a Da Vinci painting, a table with a pizza on, two stools and a very large Italian Flag. Santino Marella then put a briefcase he brought to the ring with him on the mat, as Maria sees the Pizza and starts licking her lips. We get a typical entertaining Santino Marella promo, which starts off with Santino hyping the Santino’s Casa comparing it to the Highlight Reels, Piper’s Pimp and the Flair for the Old. Santino then starts ranting about the fact that he doesn’t have a match at No Mercy, blaming on Stone Cold Steve Austin. Santino says that he is sick of seeing Stone Cold walk around, thinking he is a bit shot hitting great men like Jonathon Coachman with a Guitar. Santino says he is sick of Steve Austin, and he then goes to ask Maria who ignores Santino as she is too busy eating the Pizza. Santino shouts at Maria to say something, to which she replies I like Pepperoni Pizza better. Santino ignores Maria and then opens up a briefcase, and picks out some paperwork. Santino then announces that he has started a petition to kick Steve Austin out of Raw, to which Stone Cold’s music hits and he comes out to the ring with a briefcase in hand. Austin plays around with Santino for a little, cutting him off after every line with a What before telling him to Shut up or he will get his ass kicked. Austin then says that since Santino has started a petition, he thought that he should start a petition of his own. Austin says he has started a petition to see how many people think that Santino Marella should get his ass kicked by Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin then says that if only one person says yes, he gets one Stone Cold Stunner. If two people say yes, he gets two Stone Cold Stunners and so on. Stone Cold then hands the petition to the crowd, as Santino Marella storms backstage upset at Austin dragging Maria with him. Moments later Randy Orton and Ken Kennedy come out with a mic in hand. Ken Kennedy tells Austin to get out of the ring, because they have something to say. Austin says he has already heard them say too much, and says they won’t be saying anything more but they will have a warmup match tonight just like John Cena and Chris Jericho do. He then announces the main event as Ken Kennedy and Randy Orton to take on Jeff Hardy and Triple H. Austin then finishes off with his famous catchphrase and his music hits, as Orton and Kennedy complain as we go to a commercial.

Commercial Break

We then go backstage to see Umaga randomly taking out a few Jobbers and backstage production staff. We then cut to ringside where JR announces that Armando Alejando Estrada is not here tonight due to injuries, and with no one keeping control of Umaga, he is an unleashed animal. We then go to the crowd where we see Stone Cold’s petition being passed around through the crowd.

Match 1
Tag Team Match
Chris Jericho and John Cena with Shane McMahon v The Redneck Wrecking Crew

The first match of the evening sees John Cena and Chris Jericho warm up for their big tag team match at No Mercy, as they face former Tag Team Champions The Redneck Wrecking Crew. Cena and Jericho despite their differences put on a very impressive display working together very well, showing that they can work together as a team. However despite an impressive start, Chris Jericho played the face in peril with Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch using an effective Ground and Pound Technique, to keep Jericho away from tagging in John Cena. However Chris Jericho hit a Code breaker out of nowhere on a charging Trevor Murdoch, and then tagged in John Cena. John Cena cleaned house on Murdoch, and looked like the match was over when he hit him with the F-U, but Lance Cade broke the count. Chris Jericho then made the save for Cena, and moments later John Cena got Murdoch into the STF-U as Jericho got Cade into the Walls of Jericho. Both Cade and Murdoch tapped at the same time, giving Cena and Jericho an impressive victory.
Winners: Chris Jericho and John Cena in 7:58

After the match Cena and Jericho celebrate their victory as Shane McMahon gets into the ring. As Cena celebrates his victory on the turnbuckle, out of nowhere comes RANDY ORTON WHO HITS JOHN CENA WITH THE CHAIR AND TOSSES IT TO CHRIS JERICHO BEFORE FLEEING THE RING! Randy Orton flees through the crowd, as Jericho starts shouting at Randy Orton with the chair in hand. Meanwhile John Cena recovers by getting to his feet, and he turns around to see Chris Jericho with the chair in hand. John Cena then approaches Jericho and shoves him, believing that Jericho hit him with the chair. This leads to both men getting into an argument, with Shane McMahon having to play the Peacekeeper. We then go backstage to see Vince watching on a monitor, smiling at what he is seeing.

Commercial Break.

When we return from commercial we see Hardcore Holly storming into a locker room, where we see Cody Rhodes. Hardcore asks Cody what the hell he was thinking last week when he cost him his Intercontinental Championship Match with Carlito. Hardcore shouts at Cody that he screwed up and he has any guts he will face him one on one tonight. Cody tells Hardcore to calm down and apologises for last week and admits he made a mistake. Cody says that there is no need for the two of them to face, as he has got Hardcore a rematch with Carlito for the Intercontinental Championship with Matt Stryker and Santino Marella banned from ringside. Hardcore then tells Cody to not interfere in his match tonight, or there will be serious consequences.

We then go back to Vince McMahon’s office where he is with Jonathon Coachman who has a neck brace on after being hit with a guitar from Stone Cold last week. Coach asks Vince what is it he wanted. Vince then tells Coach that since Estrada is not here tonight, someone needs to take control of Umaga before he tears everyone apart. Vince then tells Coach that for Umaga’s match with RVD, for one night only Jonathon Coachman will be his manager. Coach tries to persuade Vince to change his mind, saying he is still suffering from injuries from Stone Cold last week, but Vince tells him if he doesn’t do it he will be fired. Coach then walks out of the office not looking too happy, as we go to ringside.

Match 2
Intercontinental Number 1 Contender Match
CM Punk v John Morrison

We get a very impressive match here between Punk and Morrison, resembling a lot of their past encounters over the past months. It was a back and forth contest for the majority of the way through, and kept the fans interested with some fast paced action and some high flying moves. Things looked bad for Punk halfway through the match, when he took a very stiff landing on the steel railing at ringside, as John Morrison flapjacked him head first onto the Steel Railing. CM Punk seemed hurt, and Morrison went to take advantage of that working over the head of CM Punk coming close to victory with a second rope DDT. However CM Punk fought the pain and kept on going, nearly taking the victory at around the 6 minute mark when he hit Morrison with the Shining Wizard. The ending saw both men counter each others finishers, with Morrison quickly escaping the Uranage, before CM Punk blocked the Corkscrew Neckbreaker, before hitting the GTS. CM Punk went to make the cover, when CARLITO got into the ring and started attacking both men, causing the referee to call for the bell!
No Contest in 8:31

After the match Carlito continues to attack CM Punk, hitting him with the Backcracker. Carlito then raises his Intercontinental Title in the air as the glass shatters, and Stone Cold Steve Austin appears at the top of the ramp with a mic in hand. Austin says he is not going to let Carlito squirm out of defending his Championship at No Mercy, and he announces at No Mercy it will be a Triple Threat Match. With Carlito defending against both John Morrison and CM Punk. Austin then leaves to his music as Carlito has a strop in the ring.

We then cut to the crowd, where we see Santino Marella snatching Stone Cold’s petition and checking how many people have voted for Austin to kick his ass so far. Santino Marella’s jaw opens wide, as he sees that not one person has voted to save Santino from Austin. Santino can’t believe it. He then approaches the fan and pleads with them to vote to save Santino. Santino even offers the man to see Maria naked if he votes for Santino. The fan says yes, to which Santino calls him a pervert before storming away not looking too happy as it looks like he will be getting a very big ass kicking next week.

We then go to another area backstage where we see Jonathon Coachman trying to calm down Umaga, who is tossing equipment all over the Locker Room. JR tells us that next up Umaga will take on RVD

Commercial Break

Match 3
Singles Match
Rob Van Dam v Umaga

We get a very physical contest here, with RVD showing a lot of attitude recently very angry with the situation in the WWE recently, and despite Coachman being at ringside, Coach fails to keep Umaga under control. Early on Rob Van Dam went to hit Umaga with a Steel Chair, but the referee snatched the chair off RVD allowing Umaga time to recover and hit a devastating Samoan Drop on RVD. The fight was taken to the outside where RVD seemed to have control, when Jonathon Coachman distracted him allowing Umaga to take control. Umaga set RVD up by the Steel Steps, and he connected with a Samoan Wrecking Ball sandwiching RVD’s head between Buttcheek and Steps. Umaga dominated the match for the next few minutes, coming close to victory with a Diving Body Splash off the top rope. However when Umaga collided with the referee, RVD was able to Low Blow Umaga and then connect with a DDT. RVD hit a Split Legged Moonsault on Umaga went for the cover, but Coach on the outside distracted the referee. A furious RVD then rolled to the outside and took an injured Coachman out with a DDT, dropping him right onto his injured neck. The ending of the match saw RVD climb the top rope and set Umaga up for the Frog Splash, but Umaga got to his feet and pushed RVD off the top rope down to the outside. Umaga then went after RVD, but out of nowhere RVD smashed a Steel Chair over the skull of Umaga! The referee then calls for the bell giving Umaga the win via DQ.
Winner: Umaga via DQ in 8:02

After the match RVD tosses Umaga into the ring and sets him up in the corner, then placing a Steel Chair in front of his head. RVD then walks to the turnbuckle to the side of the one Umaga is in and he climbs to the top rope. AND RVD HITS THE COAST TO COAST ON UMAGA! A very pissed off looking RVD then leaves the ring as TRIPLE H makes his way to the ring! Triple H smiles at RVD as he comes down, before entering the ring. He says to himself what the hell, before setting the chair up and he connects with the Pedigree onto Umaga onto the Steel Chair, taking advantage of the damage RVD caused. Triple H then leaves the ring as we go to a commercial break.

Commercial Break

Match 4
Womens Title
Beth Phoenix © v Melina

After winning the right to get a title shot last week on Raw, Melina puts up a valiant effort against the Womens Champion with the title on the line. Despite being a Heel, Melina was viewed as a face by the crowd for this match, with the Grand Rapids crowd wanting to see a New Champion. And Melina came so close to doing so hitting Beth with the Kyrapractor, but Beth kicked out just before 3. Then a late surge by Beth Phoenix at the end of the match, saw Beth retain her title after connecting with the Down in Flames.
Winner: Still Womens Champion Beth Phoenix in 5:20

As Beth celebrates her title defence we go backstage, to see Todd Grisham standing by Chris Jericho. Todd reminds Jericho of what John Cena said in an interview last week, before asking him how are he and John Cena going to be able to coexist at No Mercy. Jericho cuts an entertaining but serious promo on his match this Sunday and how he will be able to coexist with John Cena. Jericho tells Grisham to Shut the Hell up, before saying that he and John Cena are going to coexist at No Mercy, and if John Cena messes that up he is going to get an asskicking that he has never ever felt in his life. He says that he has one goal in mind and that is to become the number one contender for the WWE Championship, and there is no way that he is going to let some assclown like John Cena stop him from doing so. Jericho finishes off by saying that he will be the next WWE Champion.

Commercial Break

Just before the next match, Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring to do some colour commentary for the upcoming match.

Match 5
Intercontinental Title
Carlito © v Hardcore Holly

After coming so close last week, Hardcore Holly once again puts up a dominating display against the Intercontinental Champion with Cody Rhodes watching on at the Raw Announce Table. Carlito was the one to make the brighter start to the match going through his normal routine of moves. But when Carlito climbed to the top rope, his cockiness shone through as he started wasting time, and as he dived off Hardcore caught him in mid air with an impressive Dropkick. Carlito showed his resiliency throughout, kicking out of both the Hollycaust and then the Alabama Slammer. The ending of the match saw Carlito slap Cody Rhodes at ringside as he and Hardcore fought on the outside. Moments later Cody Rhodes stepped onto the ring apron, as Carlito reversed Hardcore Holly’s whip, sending Hardcore into Cody who flies face first off the announce table on the outside. Hardcore however staggered back right into the path of Carlito, who finished him off with the Back Cracker to retain his title.
Winner: Still Intercontinental Champion Carlito in 6:55

After the match Carlito celebrates his victory in the ring holding up his Championship belt. But Cody Rhodes enters the ring with a Chair, chasing Carlito off who flees out of the ring. Cody then stares at Carlito down the ramp, as Hardcore Holly gets to his feet. As expected a confrontation occurs between Hardcore and Carlito, with Hardcore furious at Cody for costing him from becoming Intercontinental Champion for the second week in a row. Cody tries to apologise, but Hardcore shoves him in the chest. Cody Rhodes then goes to leave the ring, but he quickly swings around and SMASHES THE CHAIR OFF HARDCORE’S SKULL! The crowd then starts to boo Cody, as he spits down on a knocked out Hardcore Holly. Cody then leaves the ring to heat from the crowd as we go to our final commercial break.

Commercial Break

Match 6
Tag Team Match
Jeff Hardy and Triple H v Ken Kennedy and Randy Orton with Vince McMahon

Raw comes to and end with a thrilling Tag Team encounter, with Orton and Kennedy having a much tougher warm up match than Cena and Jericho did earlier in the evening, as they fight to a twelve minute contest with Jeff Hardy and Triple H. Triple H and Jeff Hardy made a bright start to the match with Hardy hitting the Whisper in the Wind to Kennedy, as Triple H hits the Double A Spinebuster onto the WWE Champion Randy Orton. However some great teamwork from Ken Kennedy and Randy Orton allowed them to dominate the match, as Jeff Hardy went to hit a Somersault Plancha onto Kennedy on the outside, Randy Orton shoved Kennedy out of the way causing Hardy to crash and burn. Jeff Hardy then played the face in peril, as Orton and Kennedy started to work over the leg of Jeff Hardy, double teaming Hardy whenever they could doing anything to make sure Triple H doesn’t get the tag in. However Hardy hit a Twist of Fate onto Randy Orton out of nowhere and he finally made the tag. Triple H got into the ring and guessed what, he cleaned house. He took care of both Ken Kennedy and Randy Orton, tossing Kennedy aside before hitting Randy Orton with the Pedigree. He went to make the cover, but Vince McMahon on the outside put Randy Orton’s foot on the rope. Triple H realised this and he started chasing Vince, who led Triple H down the ramp RIGHT INTO UMAGA! Umaga comes from the back with a clothesline onto Triple H, and the two men fight to the backstage area as Jeff Hardy watches on. Meanwhile out of nowhere Ken Kennedy drops Jeff Hardy throat first over the top rope, and Hardy staggers around into an RKO by Randy Orton. Orton makes the cover and gets the three count.
Winners: Ken Kennedy and Randy Orton in 12:46

As Triple H and Umaga brawl backstage, Randy Orton and Ken Kennedy look down at Jeff Hardy and realise they are not finished. Orton and Kennedy start stomping away at Jeff Hardy, as Chris Jericho and John Cena rush to the ring. The four men who meet in six days time all go at it in a big brawl, with Jericho and Cena getting the better of Orton and Kennedy. That is until Ken Kennedy low blows John Cena, and Vince McMahon comes down to the ring with a chair in hand. This distracts Jericho who is then double teamed by both Kennedy and Randy Orton. Randy Orton then holds Jericho back for Vince to hit him with the Steel Chair, but Shane McMahon rushes to the ring. Shane goes straight after his father and takes him down, and Shane starts beating the crap out of his own father! This allows Jericho and John Cena to fight back at against Randy Orton and Ken Kennedy. This is until Jericho goes to lock the Walls of Jericho on Randy Orton, who hits him with the Steel Chair. Randy Orton then drives the chair into the gut of John Cena when he was about to hit Kennedy with the F-U. Randy Orton then looks at Shane who is oblivious to all of this. Randy Orton then bounces off the ropes and PUNTS SHANE MCMAHON IN THE HEAD! The kick of doom has knocked Shane McMahon out, but Randy Orton has not finished just yet. Randy Orton hits a Second Rope DDT to Shane McMahon on the Steel Chair, before connecting with a Sick RKO to Shane who is Knocked Out! The show then comes to a close with Orton, Kennedy and a hurt Vince McMahon standing over Jericho, Cena and Shane McMahon.

Recap

We open the show to see General Manager Teddy Long in his office in a wheelchair, after Batista Powerbombed him through the announce table last week. He says that despite what he said, and what Batista and The Undertaker did during the Contract Signing last week. He has chosen to let them off and neither man will be fined or suspended. He says that if they do lay a single finger on each other tonight, they won’t be so lucky. He says that both men will be in one on one encounters, as Batista will go one on one with Undertaker’s brother Kane, and Undertaker will go one on one with Finlay.

Match 1
Singles Match
Chavo Guerrero v Stevie Richards

Smackdown starts off with a decent contest between Chavo Guerrero and Stevie Richards, with Richards once again putting on a good contest against a tougher opponent. The match started off at a very fast pace, with some exiting back and forth wrestling. But however when Stevie Richards went for the Superkick, Chavo ducked and back body dropped him over the top and Richards took an awkward landing on his leg on the outside. Chavo then started to work over the leg of Richards, keeping the match on the ground. Chavo locked Richards in a Boston Crab, only for Richards to reach the ropes. The ending of the match saw Chavo look to go for the Gory Bomb, only for Ric Flair to come down to the ring and distract Chavo. Chavo let go of Richards and started arguing with Flair, only for Richards to come from behind with a roll up and picks up another upset victory!
Winner: Stevie Richards in 6:37

After the match Stevie celebrates another victory, as Chavo looks on at Flair in the ring absolutely livid. We then go backstage to see Matt Hardy watching the monitor backstage, when MVP walks in and Matt Hardy immediately gets in MVP’s face and shoves him in the chest. MVP asks Hardy what the hell is he doing, and Hardy then shows MVP a video tape taking place three weeks ago backstage on Smackdown. We see MVP shaking hands with two men who appear to be Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von. Hardy then stops the tape and asks MVP what the hell was he doing. Before MVP can answer Hardy accuses MVP of setting them two to attack him just one week later before their US Title Match. MVP says that he had nothing to do with it, and Burke and Cor Von were just congratulating him on retaining the Tag Team Championships at Unforgiven, while knowing secretly that they were coming after our belts and says it all makes sense. Hardy tells MVP to cut with the Bullcrap, to which MVP tells Hardy to trust him on this one. MVP says he does not need Burke and Cor Von to do his dirty work, because he is the greatest wrestler on Smackdown and is better than Matt Hardy. MVP then tells Hardy that because of his false accusations this team is falling apart, and they need to concentrate because they have a match next. MVP tells Hardy to get his head in the game before walking off.

Commercial Break

Match 2
Tag Team Match
Drew McIntyre and Paul Burchill with William Regal v Matt Hardy and MVP

Despite the confrontation just before the break, Matt Hardy and MVP put their problems aside as they put on a very impressive display against the unbeaten UKConnection, performing very well together as a team. Both Hardy and MVP came close to getting the victory in the early going, with Burchill kicking out at two after a middle rope Side Effect, and McIntyre kicking out at two after a belly to belly suplex by MVP. However the tides turned when MVP missed his Playas Boot when Regal pushed Burchill out of the way, and Burchill then took MVP out with an Enzuigiri. Burchill and McIntyre then used some very effective double teaming methods, taking cheap shots and hitting some double team moves whenever they could do so. However MVP got his team back into the match after connecting with a Face breaker Knee Smash, before tagging in Matt Hardy. Matt Hardy cleaned house on both Burchill and McIntyre going through his move set. Hardy looked like he was going to get the victory after connecting with the Top Rope Leg Drop on McIntyre, but Burchill broke the count. MVP however tosses Burchill to the outside and went after him, as Hardy connected with the Twist of Fate on Drew McIntyre. Matt Hardy then went to make the cover, when on the Titantron appeared Elijah Burke. Elijah Burke pulls out a wallop of cash from his front pocket, and he thanks MVP for the pay job and says that he will be happy to take Matt Hardy out this Sunday. Hardy looks on at MVP on the outside in a very pissed off tone, but with the ref still looking at the Titantron, MARCUS COR VON POUNCES MATT HARDY OUT OF NOWHERE! Cor Von then pulls McIntyre ontop of Matt Hardy, as MVP goes to enter the ring to stop the count only for William Regal to knock him out with some Brass Knuckles. The referee then makes the count and we get our second upset of the night!
Winners: Drew McIntyre and Paul Burchill in 8:51

After the match the UKConnection celebrate their biggest victory on Smackdown to date, getting a victory over the Tag Team Champions surely puts you in contention for the belts. Meanwhile Matt Hardy and MVP who are now both recovered, start arguing over their loss as they make their way backstage as we go to a commercial.

Commercial Break

When we get back from commercial we see MVP and Matt Hardy arguing backstage, we’re not able to hear anything they are saying as the camera is too far away, but we can definitely see that there is a lot of tension between the Tag Team Champions.

We then go to another area backstage where we see Batista about to make his entrance for the next match, when Ric Flair walks into the frame. Flair wishes him good luck on his upcoming match, and also warns him not do anything stupid tonight during Undertaker’s match tonight with Finlay. Batista tells Flair that quite frankly he does what he wants, whenever he wants. And if The Undertaker even gets in his way tonight, well then Teddy Long will have some issues to sort out. Ric Flair then asks Batista what is wrong with him because he has been different lately, Batista responds by saying that nothing is wrong with him, but there is something wrong with Ric. Batista then says that he thinks Flair is starting to get jealous of him, and says that he thinks Flair wants to turn his back on him. Batista then says he has a match before storming off, as Flair watches on in disbelief.

Match 3
Singles Match
Batista v Kane

We get your typical big man v big man match here, with Batista looking to send The Undertaker a message by beating his own brother Kane. Things didn’t go to plan for Batista in the early going however, as for the opening stage of the match Kane was all over Batista. Kane came close to victory a minute in, after connecting with the Clothesline off the top rope, but Batista kicked out at two. However Batista did all he could to get in the match, and very un Batista like he got back into the match with a Low Blow to Kane which garnered huge heat from the crowd. Batista showed a lot of Physicality, lifting Kane onto his shoulders and ramming him head first into the Steel Ring Post, before sandwiching Kane’s shoulder between his boot and the Steel Steps. Batista then started to work over the injured leg of Kane, which has had Finlay damage it week after week since Unforgiven. Batista smashed it many times across the Ring Post, before taking a page out of his Mentors Book locking on the Figure 4 Leg Lock. Kane struggled but eventually reached the ropes. Late on Batista hit the Spear followed by a Spinebuster, and then shook the ropes signalling for the Batista Bomb. But Kane sat up and grabbed Batista by the throat, Kane hit the Chokeslam on Batista who put his foot on the bottom rope at two. The ending of the match saw Batista set Kane up for the Batista Bomb, only for Kane to counter with a Back Body Drop. Kane then set Batista up for the Tombstone Piledriver, but Finlay from outside the ring cracks his shillelagh over the back of Kane’s leg from a position the referee couldn’t see him! Batista took advantage hitting the Batista Bomb, as Finlay hid on the outside. Batista then hooked the leg and picked up the victory.
Winner: Batista in 11:13

After the match the referee goes to raise Batista’s arm up, only for Batista to take him inside out with a Clothesline. Batista then celebrates his victory on his own as we see Kane making his way after Finlay backstage.

Commercial Break

We go backstage to see that Kane and Finlay are continuing their brawl backstage. We see Kane tossing Finlay into the Garage Door backstage. Kane then pounds away at Finlay on the mat, as referee’s try to split the two men up with Finlay not looking to good just under an hour before he faces The Undertaker.

We then cut to the ring where we see Michael Cole with a mic in hand. Michael Cole then introduces Rey Mysterio to the ring, and Mysterio comes out to a huge pop. Michael Cole basically interviews Rey about his match this Sunday at No Mercy against Edge. Mysterio says that ever since he lost the World Title last year, he has had one goal in mind and that is to regain that belt. He says that since then he has been hit with sideback after sideback. He says he has been out of action for nearly a year with injury, and every time he has got a World Title Shot, he has been cheated out of winning that belt. Rey says that this Sunday will be his last hope of regaining that belt, and says that he will do anything it takes to beat Edge and once again become the World Heavyweight Champion. Then Edge’s music hits and the World Champion comes down to the ring with a mic in hand. Edge apologises Rey for coming out and interrupting his life story about being hit with side back after sideback, and he says the real truth why Rey will never become World Champion again is because he will always come that little bit short (Pun Intended). Edge says Rey can say whatever the hell he wants, because it just makes him look like an idiot. He asks Rey who in the hell actually thinks that Rey Mysterio will beat him at No Mercy. Edge says that Rey can have his wacky loony tune dream about becoming World Heavyweight Champion, but at No Mercy he will kick Rey Mysterio back into the Real World and prove that he is nothing but a Nacho Munching, Border Crossing, Spiderman wannabe who has no right to compete in the same ring as a great World Heavyweight Champion like Edge. Rey Mysterio grows sick of what he is hearing, and says why wait for No Mercy when they can put the title on the line right now. Edge however tells Rey he would like to, but Rey already has a match tonight. Then on cue, out comes Kenny Dykstra who makes his way down to the ring with Edge following just behind him. We then go to a commercial break as Kenny gets into the ring.

Commercial Break

Match 4
Singles Match
Kenny Dykstra v Rey Mysterio

These two men put on a very good fast paced contest, despite being kept short because of time constraints. Throughout the match Edge was a constant distraction for Rey Mysterio on the outside, as most of the times Mysterio got some offence in, Edge got involved in someway allowing Kenny Dykstra to regain the momentum. A good example of this was Kenny Dykstra catching Mysterio in mid air with a Dropkick, after Mysterio took too long on the top rope because of a distraction from Edge. Mysterio looked to have the match won when he set Dykstra for the 619, but Edge pushed Dykstra out of the way who then clotheslined Mysterio over the top rope to the outside. Dykstra then distracted the referee as Edge speared Rey Mysterio on the outside. However Rey Mysterio overcame the odds after moving out of the way from Dykstra’s guillotine Leg Drop, and then hitting the 619 and West Coast Pop combo to get the win.
Winner: Rey Mysterio in 7:15

After the match Edge immediatley goes after Rey Mysterio, going for the Spear only for Mysterio to trip him onto the Bottom Rope. Mysterio then goes for the 619, only for Edge to move out of the way at the right precise time. Edge and Mysterio then lock eyes as we go backstage.

We then go backstage to see Kid Kash talking to a few other Cruiserweights, when Jamie Noble steps into the scene causing the other Cruiserweights to walk away leaving the two rivals. The two men have a short confrontation hyping their match at No Mercy, with Jamie Noble telling Kash he is so confident he will whitewash Kid Kash in the best of 7 series, that he will give Kid Kash the first fall. Kid Kash tells Jamie he likes that offer but he has already beat Noble three weeks in a row, and tells Jamie he shouldn’t be so confident because in about four weeks time he will no longer be Cruiserweight Champion. Kash then goes to walk off, when Noble clocks Kash in the back of the head with the Title Belt, before locking on the Dragon Sleeper onto Kid Kash on the floor, squeezing away at him like a Snake. Referee’s come to pull Noble off Kash, but they are too late as Noble has already done the damage.

Match 5
Tag Team Match
Deuce and Domino v Sabu and Tommy Dreamer

We get a rather filler match here, with this being used to get Sabu and Tommy Dreamer back on TV after being injured in that gruelling 8 man tag match at Unforgiven. Sabu and Tommy Dreamer put on an impressive display, proving why they could be possible future contenders for the Tag Team Championships. Sabu in the early going not only botched a few moves, but suffered a lot of punishment from Deuce and Domino who used their power to their advantage. However Sabu fought back against both men, hitting a Springboard Tornado DDT on Deuce and a Springboard Leg Lariat on Domino before tagging in Dreamer. Dreamer and Sabu then started to clean house, hitting their trademarks moves on Deuce and Domino. As Sabu hit a Springboard Somersault Plancha onto Domino on the outside, Tommy Dreamer hit the DVD on Deuce for the victory.
Winners: Sabu and Tommy Dreamer in 5:39

Commercial Break

Match 6
Singles Match
Finlay v The Undertaker

Finlay and Undertaker put on a very good contest to close the show, putting on one of Smackdown’s better matches in recent months, with this being as you expected an all out brawl. A lot of the match was kept on the ground, kept to a ground and pound style match. After a back and forth opening minute or so with a lot of punches and blows being thrown around, it seemed as though Taker was picking up some steam. But that changed however when Hornswoggle on the outside distracted Undertaker as he was going for the Old School, and Finlay shook the ropes causing Taker to fall crown jewels first on the top rope. Finlay then just like he has being doing to Kane the past few weeks, started to work over the leg of The Undertaker. After minutes of working over it, Finlay went to finish him off as he locked on a Modified Indian Death Lock. Undertaker tried to reach for the ropes, but Finlay pulled him back to the centre of the ring. However The Undertaker got out of it by grabbing Finlay by the throat, he then brought Finlay to his feet and hit a Chokeslam, but couldn’t make the cover because his leg was too badly hurt to make the pin. The Undertaker then took control of the match and he went to finish it off with the Last Ride, but Hornswoggle distracted the referee as Finlay slid off Undertaker’s shoulders and hit him in the back of the injured leg with the Shillelagh. Finlay made the cover but somehow Taker kicked out. The ending of the match saw Hornsoggle distract the referee again as Taker set Finlay up for the Chokeslam, which allowed Finlay to connect with a Low Blow. Finlay then went for his Shillelagh, but someone else grabbed it, and that someone else was Kane! Kane then got into the ring with the weapon and backed Finlay off, straight into the Undertaker who hit Finlay with the Tombstone Pile Driver. Undertaker then made the cover as Kane made sure Hornswoggle did not get involved, and Taker picks up the victory.
Winner: The Undertaker in 10:14

After the match The Undertaker celebrates his victory, as Kane picks up Finlay and tosses him to the outside of the ring. Then suddenly the lights come off, and then come back on and we see Batista running at Undertaker going for the Spear, but Taker moves out of the way and Batista Spears Kane! Batista then flees the ring telling Taker he was that close to hitting him with the Spear, and the two Monsters stare holes through another as Smackdown comes to an end.

RAW REVIEW
By SC2004.

(first time reviewing your BTB, so if I may a stupid comment or if there are blatant oversights, feel free to point that out as it will help me get up to speed and understand your BTB J)

- Opening was great fun. I think Marella and Maria are a great comedy duo of sorts. The idea to give Santino his own show is a great idea, given his talent on the stick. Austin was his usual self, doing what Austin does best. I liked how you set up the Kennedy, Orton versus Triple H, Jeff hardy match.

- Nice way to open the show, a solid match with the faces coming out on top. The aftermath was better than the match, classic old school set up, with Orton hitting Cena with the chair and Jericho picking it up. This always works for me.

- Two solid backstage segments. I liked the intensity of the Holly, Carlito segment. The Vince, coach segment was humorous as Vince actually think an injured Coach could somehow manage to keep Umaga under control.

- Second match was fine. The run in was logical. Not too keen on seeing Austin and Marella in spots so soon after their opening promo, but what they did served a purpose and was entertaining. The Coach, Umaga thing is going to be funny. No way coach can keep him under control.

- No to happy with two DQ finishes in a row to be honest, but with it being so close to No Mercy, I can see where you’re coming from. Triple H coming out and hitting a pedigree on an all ready injured Umaga didn’t serve much of a purpose and it didn’t make the game look any stronger.

- You went for two heel’s in the women’s title match, Beth and Melina. With so many faces, I don’t know why you decided to do that, but you did justify it, when you said the crowd were cheering for Melina because they wanted a new champion. The Jericho interview was fine, I thought he would have been more agitated or angry at Cena.

- I love it, Cody is the heel and not Holly, which is the way 99% of bookers on here would of booked this new feud. I liked that a lot.

- Dramatic main event. Liked how Vince set up Hunter, leading him into Umaga, lever stuff. Also the finish, although it happened all of a sudden, worked really well. The finish worked because even though Jeff got pinned, it was in effect, 2 on 1, so he still looks strong. The finish to the show was awesome with a 6 man brawl in the ring.

This show built up the NO Mercy PPV very well. The show was very entertaining. I personally thought the opening promo with Austin and Marella was the best segment of the night. The best match, without a doubt was the main event. I liked this Raw a lot, grounded in realism, but not to the point that it becomes boring, like the current WWE product. I’ll continue reading.

Nige’s Raw Feedback

Santino’s Casa would be brilliant to see on TV, trademark it quick! I could just see Maria getting sidetracked like that and Santino being a man of action with his petition. Austin came it out pretty quickly and just by chance had his own petition. Very funny segment and I wonder when Santino will collect! Nice match made too for Orton and Kennedy

Umaga randomly taking people apart sells his anger from last week and really shows how dangerous he can be ahead of his match at No Mercy

Cena and Jericho starting the show is different, but that’s cool. It was an obvious win, but I liked that Murdoch and Cade didn’t look particularly inferior against them. What happened after with Orton and the chair was cleverly done, brilliantly booked it has to be said to get Cena and Jericho on the wrong page

I liked this promo with Cody & Hardcore, getting both of them spot on. The tension is so clearly there, but it’s good to see Cody showing some respect towards him if you’re going to make a go of it with them as a team. Coach and Vince promo was pretty good too, nothing too big, I just wonder how Coach is going to suffer again this week. Vince was spot on in this too and funny as he is always is when he mistreats Coach

Yeah it was a good match with Punk & Morrison, and I was surprised that it ended in a no contest, I shouldn’t be really, but I expected Punk to get a one on one title shot. It’s the sort of trick Carlito would try, but like Summerslam last year, we see a triple threat announced. This segment though just re-enforces that Hardcore is not getting the title tonight, making it a kind of pointless match

Santino again was hilarious, offering to show Maria naked then calling the guy a pervert. Very good way to get Santino over and next week will be great. Poor Coach is in trouble, we just know it!

RVD & Umaga would certainly be a match I would like to see and this didn’t disappoint until the ending. I just felt that Umaga should be the one to get DQ’d and show his destructive side as he needs to look as strong as possible going into the match with Triple H at No Mercy. Trips coming down and taking advantage of someone else’s work is something I don’t really agree with as he usually does it all by himself. RVD gained the most I feel from this match, maybe that’s you’re laying the foundations for

No real surprise to see Beth Phoenix overcome Melina, it certainly makes her look like a stronger champion now that she’s taken Melina apart. Who’s next though?

Jericho’s promo was good and I would have enjoyed to have seen that. You’re really building the tension between them as we go into No Mercy, but I guess there’s more to come in the show yet with Orton and Kennedy in action later on

Hardcore had no chance in hell of winning this one, so it was no shock when Cody accidentally got in the way and cost him the match. What followed was brilliant and unexpected. I enjoyed Cody’s heel turn in D-K-L’s thread and he makes a believable heel, and boy he has reason to here with hardcore pushing him around. Loved that!

Main event time, and it was a cracker. I figured that with Jeff being in there, he would be the fall guy. Orton and Kennedy had to win this one, but what mattered was what went down next with Cena and Jericho. Shane picking up the brunt of the assault was alright as Orton and Kennedy stood tall, as they should

Smackdown Feedback

I liked Teddy’s announcement, for some reason I enjoy it when two opponents aren’t allowed to touch each other, as it really adds the tension to the feud. This must be killing both of them after last week and the table being crushed due to Taker’s stupid back

The Chavo/Flair feud has been great and you deserve credit for that. Man, Chavo would be pissed if he lost to Stevie, helping him pick up a shock victory. Are Chavo and Flair on the card for No Mercy?

Wow the whole Matt/MVP deal just escalated in a big way. I love reading your shows as you do something totally different with your progression of feuds and different angles. For MVP to be behind the attack on Matt was a shock to me, but it shouldn’t be as we know what he’s like. And then during the match, another video incriminates MVP. The champs are in trouble in a big way and I’d be shocked and a little pissed if they didn’t lose at No Mercy and finally go after each other. Did Regal need to use the knucks though instead of just the power of the punch? Just that MVP had to get up after to argue, which didn’t sell the shot too well with the knucks

I love the way you’re going about Batista’s turn. Accusing Flair of being jealous is great and the arrogance coming off of Batista is just great to read. He was always going to beat Kane, and he needed to. Finlay as ever is a pain if he hates you and it was good that you incorporated his feud with Kane into giving Batista a big victory going into No Mercy

Rey’s interview with Cole was pretty heartfelt and honest, but he sold his desire well and Edge made the promo entertaining when he came out with some funny lines. Rey/Dykstra is a match that would be good to watch, and Edge’s spear wasn’t enough. Rey’s recovery wasn’t that big a deal before he got the win. What followed after was a great exchange making both men look even going into No Mercy, when we know that Edge is leaving as champ

The Kash/Noble exchange was very good, so cocky of Noble to offer the first fall. I love this feud as they are both so intense and the sucker punch at the end. Let the fun begin this Sunday

Dreamer & Sabu getting this victory was a given, but I see this match setting the stone for this team to face the soon to be new heel champions of Burke & Cor Von

Finlay’s match with Taker was very good indeed. I wondered if Batista would play any part in this one, but that happened after. Kane coming to his brothers rescue helps both of them and the feud with Finlay. I loved the dodged spear though to keep the match intact and sell Batista’s drive to beat the dead man

Great way to go into No Mercy, tremendously booked shows as ever and can’t wait for the PPV. My favourite thread on here and you make it obvious why with shows like these. Do you want No Mercy predictions now or do you want us to wait until you post the preview?
