Re: WWE: Turning The Corner
This week's Smackdown is going to be in recap form as i have had no time to write a full show as i have been busy this week and i am going away in the weekend. Also might aswell let you know that the next set of shows will be recapped aswell as Unforgiven. Raw and Smackdown because it is the festive season and Unforgiven because the four PPV's will be written in full as they are more important and probally have better cards. But i will be back to normal in writing full shows in the new year.WWE Smackdown!
7th September 2007
*Opening video and pyro*
The show kicks off with Cole and JBL hyping up the triple threat main event for the number one contendership for the World Heavyweight Title. They also announce that Mark Henry will take on Ric Flair and Matt Hardy will once again be a guest on the V.I.P Lounge.
Our first bit of action comes from a tag team contest as Sabu and Tommy Dreamer team up to face Deuce and Domino. CM Punk and RVD made their way down to the ring with Sabu and Dreamer to make sure that their was no interference from the New Breed. We get a decent contest, which saw Sabu play the face in peril after Sabu and Dreamer had made a good start to the match. However Sabu got himself back into the match after an Enzuigiri to Deuce and he tags in Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer came into the match like a house on fire dominating both Deuce and Domino. It looked like he would get the win when he set Deuce up for the Death Valley Driver, but Domino hit Dreamer with a big boot. Things then got out of control as the referee checked on Dreamer as Domino went outside to grab a chair, he was about to bring it into the ring when Rob Van Dam out of nowhere connected with the Van Daminator on the outside of the ring. The referee then turned his attention to the outside and starts having a go at RVD, when CM Punk on the otherside of the ring slided a Singapore cane into the ring into the hands of Tommy Dreamer. Deuce went to pick up Dreamer, but Dreamer out of nowhere smashed the Singapore cane over his head knocking Deuce out. Dreamer then made the cover as he slid the cane out of the ring and the referee made the three count.
Winners: Sabu and Tommy Dreamer in 6:21
After the match RVD and CM Punk came into the ring to join celebrate Sabu and Tommy Dreamer’s victory. Then all of a sudden the camera turns to the Titantron where we see the New Breed standing in the parking lot looking like they are ready for a fight. The leader of the New Breed Elijah Burke runs down the ECW originals and CM Punk and said that if they were really Hardcore they would come out to the parking lot and challenges them to a fight out in the parking lot. The ECW originals don’t even have to think about it and they head backstage. We follow them all the way backstage and into the parking lot and they go up to where the New Breed was standing by a limo but they are not there. Then out of nowhere Marcus Cor Von pounces Sabu straight into the limo and hell breaks loose as the ECW Originals and the New Breed go at it backstage. We see RVD and Elijah Burke going at it while John Morrison and CM Punk go at it as Kevin Thorne gets the better of Tommy Dreamer and throws him head first through the window of the limo busting Dreamer open. With both Dreamer and Sabu down and hurt, Kevin Thorne and Marcus Cor Von help out Elijah Burke and John Morrison beat down RVD and CM Punk. Elijah Burke grabs RVD by the hair and tosses him head first into a dumpster near by, as Kevin Thorn connects with the Crucifix Powerbomb to CM Punk onto the hood of the car. Referee’s come flooding down to stop the brawl too late as all of the ECW originals including CM Punk have been brutally beaten down. We go to a commercial as the New Breed get into a car near by and drive out of the arena.
When we get back from commercial we go straight back to the scene of that parking lot brawl and we see paramedics helping out an injured Tommy Dreamer and CM Punk, while RVD helps a hurt Sabu up onto his feet.
We then go to another backstage area to see Batista storming down the backstage area with a look of anger on his face. Batista shouts out “Edge where are you”, with Batista wanting to get revenge for Edge costing him his championship chance last week against Finlay.
We then have our next contest of the evening as Chris Masters takes on Stevie Richards who makes his first appearance on Smackdown since joining from the demise of ECW. We don’t have a particularly great match here with Masters dominating most of the match up, working over the back of Richards to set him up for the Masterlock later in the match and using his power to his advantage. Richards did have his moments however, nearly getting the win after a diving crossbody off the top rope catching Masters off guard, but Masters kicked out at two. He also showed some resilience kicking out of a running Powerslam by the Masterpiece. But however it looked like Masters had the victory tied up when he went for the Masterlock but Richards suddenly switched around and got Masters into an Oklahoma roll and steals the victory!
Winner: Stevie Richards in 6:12
We then go backstage to see that Batista has found the World Heavyweight Champion Edge and is chasing him backstage! Edge is quicker than Batista but he makes a big slip up and falls to the floor allowing Batista to catch up with Edge and throws a hard right hand, and Edge throws one back and the two go at it. Batista gets the better of Edge in the second brawl of the night, but this time the referees split the two men at the right time and it takes all the referees to split Batista from Edge. Edge staggers back holding onto his face in pain but gives out a slight smirk knowing he got away unhurt from Batista, but as he walks backwards we see him bump into a man’s chest. Edge then turns around to see Kane! Kane gives out a Psychotic laugh before telling Edge that he doesn’t need to worry about Batista, he needs to worry about Kane. Kane then gives out another psychotic laugh as Edge walks away as we go to a commercial.
When we get back from commercial we see MVP in the ring with the V.I.P lounge set up in the ring. MVP introduces us to another edition of the V.I.P lounge. MVP starts off the promo by hyping himself up as always but it doesn’t last for long as Matt Hardy’s music interrupts him, and Hardy comes down to the ring to a big pop. You can see MVP’s face looks like it is going to explode as Matt Hardy interrupted him but instead of snapping he tries to stay calm. MVP tells Hardy that he wasn’t supposed to come out until he gave him the cue. Hardy then replies by telling MVP that he was sick and tired of waiting for MVP to shut his mouth. MVP again tries to stay calm and immediately moves on telling Hardy how does it feel to tag team up with greatness such as MVP. Matt Hardy says it is good to have some gold around his waist, but he wants to add one more gold around his waist and that is the United States Championship. Hardy then says that since MVP doesn’t have a match tonight, how about he puts his title on the line right here right now. MVP rejects the challenge saying that they are tag team champions and they are buddies and they cannot fight. MVP tells Hardy they need to stick together as a unit, or they will lose their Tag Team Championships. Hardy says that he knows MVP would of rejected his challenge so just like MVP put Hardy in a match with Dykstra last week. Hardy has put MVP in a match this week. Hardy gives a clue to MVP on his opponent saying at the moment he is a very angry man and he just saw him backstage beating up the World Heavyweight Champion. MVP’s face then turns into despair as “I walk alone” hits and Batista comes down to the ring staring down MVP as his next victim as we go to a commercial break.
After the break we join Batista v MVP in progress with Batista hitting a running Powerslam onto MVP. We have a pretty good solid *** match, as we have a fairly back and forth match with MVP showing his potential giving Batista a very good fight and at times looking like he could get the win. After a very fast paced back and forth opening few moments. MVP did a good job of working over the leg of Batista, keeping the big man grounded but Batista fought back into the match after catching MVP off the ropes with a big Spinebuster when MVP got slightly distracted by Matt Hardy on the outside. It looked like Batista had the victory when he hit MVP with his version of the Jackhammer but somehow MVP kicked out at 2. Batista set MVP up for the Powerbomb, but MVP tripped Batista up and locked him in a Boston Crab. After a bit of a struggle Batista reached the ropes. The ending of the match saw MVP connect with the Playas Boot in the corner and then signal for the Playmaker, but he suddenly got distracted as on the outside WILLIAM REGAL AND DAVE TAYLOR STARTED VISCIOUSLY ATTACKING MATT HARDY ON THE OUTSIDE! MVP let go of Batista and as William Regal got Matt Hardy in the Regal Stretch on the outside, MVP just looked on and smirked instead of helping his partner! But MVP made the mistake of turning his back on Batista as he turned around straight into another Spinebuster by Batista. Batista then set up MVP and connected with the Batista Bomb and handed MVP’s second defeat in a matter of a week.
Winner: Batista in 11:11
After the match Batista celebrates his victory over MVP, still selling the injuries on his leg from the match as William Regal and Dave Taylor signal to Matt Hardy and MVP that they want their tag team Championships.
We then go backstage to see Josh Matthews standing by Rey Mysterio. Mysterio is asked how he feels ahead of his match tonight with Finlay and Kane in a Triple Threat match where the winner will face Edge at Unforgiven for the World Heavyweight Championship. Mysterio in his first interview back since his return says that it is a pleasure to be back on Smackdown and back fighting for the World Heavyweight Championship. Mysterio says that he has watched Edge cheat his way to retaining the World Heavyweight Championship every night and he has grew sick of it. He says that at Summerslam he had the better of Edge and that’s why he had to use the title belt to win the match. He says that if he wins tonight’s match, at Unforgiven there will be a different outcome and that he will once again become World Heavyweight Champion.
When we get back from commercial we see Kristal Marshall standing by “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair. Kristal tries to interview Ric on his match with Mark Henry tonight, but Flair ignores her question and instead starts chatting her up says that after the show they can go to Space Mountain and have a party. Kristal laughs with Flair, until we hear a big “Wooooo” in the background. Then Chavo Guerrero walks into the frame to some heat. Chavo then tells Kristal that she needs to go for a real man like Chavito heat Chavo Guerrero. Chavo then tells Flair that he is sick and tired of seeing a 130 year old man hogging the television screen every week, while big stars of the present like Chavo Guerrero have to take a backseat, so Ric Flair can throw a couple of “Wooos” every show. Chavo then has a go at Flair for him cheating to defeat Chavo last week on Smackdown and Chavo challenges him to another match. Flair tells Chavo he has a match tonight and Chavo calls him a coward. Ric Flair then finally snaps and tells Chavo that even though he respects his family, he will have no second thought on teaching Chavo some respect. Chavo tells Flair he deserves no respect and then advises Flair to retire. Flair says that he is never going to retire and Chavo replies by telling him that Chavo Guerrero will be remembered as the man who ended Ric Flair’s career. Chavo then walks off leaving an angry Ric Flair.
We then go to ringside and we have our next match of the evening as the Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble takes on the man that defeated him in tag team action last week Kid Kash. Noble and Kash put on a very good entertaining Cruiserweight encounter which told a very good story, as Jamie Noble could just not put away a resilient Kid Kash. Kash looked to of suffered an injury early on when he went for to launch himself over the top rope onto Jamie Noble on the outside, but Noble moved out of the way and Kash hurt himself in the process. Jamie Noble had many chances to get revenge for losing to Kash last week, but time after time Kash kicked out. The most impressive kick out for Kash was after Noble hit his Double Underhook Powerbomb and he kicked out just before three. Kid Kash did have one very close near fall during the match however, that being when he came off the top with a Frog Splash, and Noble kicked out literally just before the three count. Jamie Noble set Kash up for the Fireman’s carry into double knee gut buster, but Kash slid off and hit the Dead Level and made the cover and gets the three count getting his second clean victory over Noble in a week!
Winner: Kid Kash in 7:46
After the match Kid Kash celebrated on the outside and for the second week in a row signalled to Jamie Noble that he wanted a title shot as we go to a commercial.
When we get back from commercial we see Mark Henry making his way to the ring getting ready for his match with Ric Flair. But instead of Ric Flair’s music hitting, the lights go off and we hear a Gong. A lightning bolt then hits the ramp and we see some druids making their way to the ring pushing down a Casket down to the ring. Mark Henry looks on shouting at the druids to take that casket away not wanting to be distracted ahead of his upcoming match. The druids then start unlocking the Casket and they open the lid and a ton of smoke is released from it. The lights then come on and suddenly THE UNDERTAKER SITS UP AND LOOKS AT MARK HENRY WITH MURDER IN HIS EYES! A huge reaction is given as the lights then turn off and then turn back on with no sight of the Undertaker, druids or the casket. Ric Flair then makes his way down to the ring as Mark Henry for the first time starts to show a bit of fear in his face and he does not look like he is ready for a match.
After two very solid matches we have a Stinker here as Mark Henry and Ric Flair styles completely clashing here not making for a good match. Ric Flair surprisingly started off the match well taking it to Mark Henry who seemed to be a bit off guard after that appearance from the Undertaker. Ric Flair even took Mark Henry off his feet after tripping the big man face first onto the turnbuckle in the corner. Flair then even got Henry in the figure 4 leg lock but Mark Henry’s pure leg strength helped him reach the ropes. From this point the match completely turned around as Mark Henry stepped up a gear and started completely dominating Ric Flair. Flair did show some resiliency kicking out of a big leg drop by Henry, but this resulted in more pain for Flair as Mark Henry hit a total of THREE big splashes followed by the Worlds Strongest Slam for the victory.
Winner: Mark Henry in 5:38
After the match Mark Henry failed to stop there as he wanted to send a message to the Undertaker. Henry lifted Flair onto his feet and connected with another Worlds Strongest Slam. Henry then bounced off the ropes and connected with another Big Splash. Mark Henry then dragged Flair into the corner and climbed onto the middle rope looking to go for a Big Splash off the middle rope when BATISTA sprints to the ring. Mark Henry gets off the turnbuckle and the two goliaths go at it with Mark Henry getting the better of Batista after a knee to the gut. Henry then starts pounding away at Batista against the ropes before going to clothesline him over the top rope, but Batista ducks and instead he clotheslines Mark Henry over the top rope. Batista challenges Henry to get back into the ring to continue the fight, but Henry smartly backs off down the ramp. Batista then checks on his injured mentor Ric Flair as we go to a commercial.
When we get back from commercial Michael Cole and JBL talk about what they just saw and they reveal that in the main event next week on Smackdown Batista will take on Mark Henry. They then also hype Unforgiven in nine days time running down the card and revealing a new match added to the card as MVP and Matt Hardy team up to defend their titles against William Regal and Dave Taylor. The World Heavyweight Champion Edge then joins Cole and JBL at ringside to do some commentary for the main event.
The main event of the evening turns out to be a great match, with Mysterio, Kane and Finlay doing all they can to earn a title shot against Edge at Unforgiven. Kane starts off the match in very dominating fashion, with Finlay and Mysterio getting no offence in. But Finlay and Mysterio despite not being the best of friends they use some smart tactics as they start to double team on the Big Red Machine Kane. They take Kane to the outside and they strip the Smackdown announce table off it’s equipment BEFORE MYSTERIO AND FINLAY HIT A DOUBLE SUPLEX TO KANE THROUGH THE SMACKDOWN ANNOUNCE TABLE! Mysterio and Finlay then start to fight it out between themselves with Kane out of contention. Rey trips Finlay onto the bottom rope and connects with the 619! Rey then connects with the springboard Hurricarana but Finlay kicks out! Moments later Finlay suddenly lifts Mysterio onto his shoulder and connects with the Celtic Cross and makes the cover but Mysterio kicks out! Finlay then grabs his shillelagh and goes to hit Mysterio with it when the referee takes it off him. The referee goes to take it to the outside but suddenly HORNSWOGGLE gets into the ring and he clocks Mysterio over the head with another Shillelagh before getting out of the ring. Finlay then goes to make the cover but Kane gets back into the match cleaning house. Kane chokeslams Finlay and goes to make the cover when Hornswoggle breaks the count. Hornswoggle begs for Kane not to hurt him but Kane grabs him by the throat and Kane CHOKESLAMS HORNSWOGGLE! Kane then goes to Chokeslam Mysterio, but somehow Mysterio counters it into a Tornado DDT! The ending of the match saw Rey Mysterio hit Kane with the 619, but as he springboarded onto the top rope out of nowhere EDGE CLOCKS MYSTERIO OVER THE BACK WITH A STEEL CHAIR! The referee can not do anything as there is no disqualifications. Edge however gets into the ring and he takes out Finlay with Chair shot to the head. Edge then hits Kane with the Chair, but he somehow stays on his feet. So Edge bounces off the ropes and spears Kane! Referee’s and Road agents come flooding to the ring to stop Edge and get him out of the ring, but Edge meets all of them with Chair shots to the head and the referee decides to end the match as it can not continue because of Edge.
Winner: No Contest in 15:08
The crowd gives huge heat as Edge has ruined the Triple Threat match and we have no number one contender. Edge raises his belt up in the air when “Macmillitant” hits and Teddy Long appears at the top of the ramp with a mic in hand. Teddy Long promised that Edge will be fined heavily for his actions tonight and because this match was ruled as a no contest at Unforgiven Edge will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against FINLAY, KANE AND REY MYSTERIO IN A FATAL 4 WAY! Edge completely loses it at Long’s decision as instead of having to face one man he will have to face three men at Unforgiven. Edge stares down his Unforgiven opponents as the show fades to black.

Re: WWE: Turning The Corner
Nige’s SD Feedback
Recaps don’t bother me, well really pathetic small ones do, so this is cool as it is obvious you have put a lot of effort into it and shown it’s not that you can’t be assed
Nice opening encounter, and this Originals/New Breed feud is really heating up, even after the mayhem we’ve seen so far. I think having Punk & RVD at ringside was a real good idea with the antics of the New Breed lately. The match was pretty good and I didn’t expect the ending to happen the way it did, not sure if I think Punk needed to do that. The call out to the parking lot was something that we’ve not seen in this feud and really gave it a big feud feel, which is a great way to get some real attention and heat directed at it. Some great action too while it all went off out there, the crucifix power bomb onto the hood, nice! That was brilliantly done bro!
Batista going looking for Edge is cool, he would be pissed off and I’m looking forward to the main event and to see what happens with these two and if Batista returns the favour
Stevie getting one up on Masters was nice to see, Masters is just the perfect guy to job to new stars. Didn’t really expect to see Stevie get a win to be honest as I thought Masters was going to get some credibility for a change. Real interesting to see where Stevie goes from here, but I would have liked to have seen Masters give a reaction, just a look maybe without having to get a revenge attack on Stevie
Batista catches Edge! I’m not sure having two promos with Batista in so close is a great idea and especially as it is the second backstage brawl of the night. The Edge fall was a nice touch though and set it up nicely. The Kane entrance was good and I get a sense that he will win or Batista will be added to a triple threat or something, the possibilities. It was a good promo, just not sure it couldn’t have come later
The VIP Lounge was okay, nothing we haven’t already seen before, but MVP facing Batista should be good. The match was alright, but I liked the way you went about the ending. It just worked perfectly to work for everyone involved, no real credibility lost for Matt & MVP while Batista, Regal & Taylor look like real threats. Great piece of booking there man
Rey interview was good and you get a real sense of what Rey is really like. He is obviously hungry to get the title after being robbed at Summerslam by Edge. It’s a tough call, but I think something really dodgy is going down later on and everyone could get involved
I really enjoyed the Flair/Chavo promo. As shocking as it is to see Chavo in this situation, he has the arrogance to pull it off. Flair’s line about respecting Chavo’s family but not him was real good as it increases the fire between them and would set Chavo off for sure. Very good intense promo
Kash vs Noble is a match I think most people would want to see and this was well described. The outcome was obvious after what happened with the tag match last week and Kash winning. No surprise Kash pulled it out, and now we have ourselves a feud. Straight forward booking at its best
The Henry/Flair match was really good as you took away how bad it would actually be by making everyone feel that Taker would get involved. Before the match, Taker showing up in the casket and vanishing is a great mind game and would get the crowd excited. Henry winning was no shock, and I was very pleased with how you had Batista save the day as it would be so easy for Taker to save the day. Great booking once again man
The main event was a good read and the moment I saw Edge’s name, I knew it would all kick off. A no contest was one of two possibilities I saw and that’s what we got. The chair shot sounded brutal by the way, could see it in my head. Great decision by Teddy to make it a fatal fourway, the question I have now is. . . What part will Batista play in this one?

Re: WWE: Turning The Corner
Thanks for the review Nige as always. Raw and Smackdown this week are going to be posted together in recaps so here is the preview for both shows.
With just six days till Unforgiven, Raw comes to you from Green Bay Wisconsin and what a show we have in store for you. With just six days till their Last Man Standing Match, John Cena and Randy Orton will be in the same ring tonight. As Randy Orton teams up with hometown hero Ken Kennedy to face John Cena and a partner of his choice. Will Cena find a partner or will he go it alone tonight?
Also we get a preview of the ECW Rules 8 man tag this Sunday, as team leaders of the ECW Originals and New Breed go one on one in an Extreme Rules Match. Rob Van Dam will go one on one with Elijah Burke and expect the rest of the ECW originals and New Breed to be at ringside and if you watched Smackdown you know hell will break loose.
Also we will find out who will face the Worlds Greatest Tag Team at Unforgiven for the World Tag Team Championships. The Redneck Wrecking Crew of Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch will face the Hooligans of Paul London and Brian Kendrick.
Also expect to see the likes of Triple H, King Booker, Umaga, Jeff Hardy and Intercontinental Champion Carlito in action. Make sure to tune into Monday Night Raw, this Monday live on the USA Network at 9/8 ET!
Elijah Burke v Rob Van Dam in Extreme Rules Match
John Cena and ??? v Ken Kennedy and Randy Orton
Number 1 Contender Match The Hooligans v The Redneck Wrecking Crew
Two days away from Unforgiven, the Smackdown crew head over to Minneapolis Minnesota for what should be another great edition of Smackdown.
The main event confirmed for Smackdown is a clash between two former rivals, as Batista will go one on one with Mark Henry. The match was made after Batista saved his mentor Ric Flair from an attack by Mark Henry last week on Smackdown. With Mark Henry facing The Undertaker in two days time, will he be giving this match full focus?
Also last week a Fatal 4 Way match was made for the World Heavyweight Title because of Edge’s interference in the number 1 contender match and we will now see Edge defend his title against Kane, Finlay and Rey Mysterio at Unforgiven. Tonight we will see a warm up for that match as all four men will be in the same ring as Kane teams up with Rey Mysterio to take on Finlay and Edge. Who will get the momentum going into Unforgiven?
Also with their WWE Tag Team Championship match just two days away, MVP will be in the corner of Matt Hardy as Hardy goes one on one with William Regal. Also expect the ECW Originals v New Breed rivalry to continue to explode tonight just two days away from their 8 man tag Extreme Rules Match at Unforgiven.
So make sure to tune into the next edition of Smackdown, Friday Night at 8/7 CT on the CW Network.
Batista v Mark Henry
Edge and Finlay v Kane and Rey Mysterio
Matt Hardy v William Regal
Expect both shows to be posted together around the 28th December. Also I would like to wish all my readers a happy Christmas

Re: WWE: Turning The Corner
Bradley's Smackdown review.
Nice looking Triple Threat coming up, this is my first time reviewing this thread so bare with me.
Nice to see a tag match to start things up. ECW vs. New Breed is always an interesting rivalry and you seemed to have spiced it up by adding Punk. This was a very fun, feel good moment something which I look for in BTB are feel good moments. I liked ECW coming out on top in the match but the New Breed getting on top backstage after some underhand tactics. You could have some amazing PPV matches between the two groups.
Batista looking for Edge? Is he going to turn heel because I'm not overly sure what is going on. I guess he is going to intimidate him.
Masters vs. Richards wasn't anything special but it definitely did it's job and Stevie getting the win over someone who has been in the Elimination Chamber will do wonders for his career on Smackdown. Richards to join the ECW group?
Batista catches Edge quite early on. Would have liked to seen a chase go on for a while and it would have added anticipation. Kane coming in is interesting, he had to make an impact but Edge will surely cheat tonight or Batista might stop him.
The V.I.P lounge could have felt a lot bigger and it didn't have that special feel to it. MVP wanting to 'work' as a unit will obviously lead to something bigger and I expect the two to lose the tag titles soon. MVP/Batista should be good. Batista has been involved a lot tonight. A good matchup but obviously the most interesting part was when MVP let the Bluebloods beat down Hardy. This should mean they will lose their titles soon and Batista then gains some credibility because MVP was distracted. MVP will find a way to pin the blame on Hardy.
Rey seems ready for tonight. I wondered why Finlay didn't show up but Mysterio is more important in this feud and looks odds on to win the match tonight.
Nice interaction between Flair and Chavo, it will be interesting to see what this builds up to but it had definitely got personal very quickly. I hope you don't rush this feud as it could be a good one and something very unique.
Kash/Noble was definitely a good wrestling match and the description was there, I don't know what storyline this is part of but you certainly have a good CW division. I didn't like the fact that Noble has been beaten clean, twice in a row as well.
I liked the Undertaker playing Mind Games, it should be interesting to see how Henry will react. It was nice that it affected him and Flair nearly got the shock upset but thankfully you put Henry over well with a big win, crippling Flair. Batista makes the save... again. You seem to be overusing him, he has to be in a feud but which one? The WHC one or the Flair mentoring one?
A very good match to end the show, I honestly thought anyone could have won and I wouldn't see why Edge would interrupt as he would know the consequences. Triple threat matches are no DQ anyway unless stated. The fatal 4 way should be awesome though, shame Batista won't be included.

Re: WWE: Turning The Corner
Here is both the final Raw and Smackdown before Unforgiven,i feel parts are a little rushed as i have had no time the last two weeks for shows or reviews but the quality should be better in the new year. Also remember to leave your predictions for Unforgiven!
Green Bay Wisconsin

*Opening video and pyro*
After the traditional opening by JR and King “ My time is Now” hits and John Cena makes his way down to the ring to a big pop, scattered with a couple of boos as always. John Cena gets into the ring and takes a mic. Instead of the traditional fun John Cena promo we are accustomed to, we see more of an intense John Cena promo to hype his match with Randy Orton this Sunday. He says at Summerslam, Randy Orton stole his WWE Championship and he tried to end his career. But he tells Randy Orton that he made a big mistake as he is still standing and that at Unforgiven Randy Orton is going to get the asskicking of his life. Cena says he will regain his WWE Championship and he will end his Word Motherthriggin Life. Then “Burn inside my light” hits and Randy Orton makes his way down to the ring with a mic in hand. Randy Orton calls John Cena a bad loser and that he beat Cena fair and square at Summerslam. He tells Cena that he did fail to end his career, but it did set up the day of destiny when Randy Orton will end John Cena’s career, and that will be this Sunday at Unforgiven. John Cena says he is sick and tired of hearing Randy Orton run his mouth on how he is going to end someone’s career, and he challenges Orton to end his career right here right now. Randy Orton rejects and John Cena then calls Randy Orton a bitch. This lights a fire under Randy Orton who goes to walk away, before turning around and he goes to hit Cena with the WWE Title but Cena ducks and the two get into a brawl. John Cena gets the better of Randy Orton and he pounds away at him into the corner when suddenly hometown hero KEN KENNEDY ATTACKS JOHN CENA FROM BEHIND! John Cena fights back against Ken Kennedy taking him down with a clothesline, before turning around into an RKO BY RANDY ORTON! The crowd boos as Randy Orton has got one over John Cena tonight and he and Kennedy leave the ring together, as JR hypes up the tag team main event where Cena will pick a partner to face Kennedy and Orton.
Even though this was supposed to be an ECW Rules match, the first half of the match had no weapons used at all that were used because every time RVD and Elijah Burke went to the outside to get a weapon, the other members of the New Breed or ECW Originals made sure that they didn’t pick up the weapon. RVD got sick and tired of this so he hit a springboard plancha from the ring onto all three other members of the New Breed. RVD then brought a steel chair into the ring and a trash can. RVD hit Elijah with the Van Daminator and then set him up in the corner of the ring placing the trash can on top of him. RVD then went to the corner to the other side of the ring and he signalled for the Van Terminator when suddenly Elijah Burke pushed RVD to the outside face first onto the barricade. The New Breed then went to gang up on RVD on the outside when the Originals made the save and tossed RVD into the ring. From here Elijah Burke started to dominate the match even busting RVD open with a sick chair shot to the skull. Marcus Cor Von then slid a table into the ring and Elijah set RVD up on it before climbing to the top rope. The Originals then got revenge for the New Breed interfering earlier when RVD was close to victory as Tommy Dreamer pushes Elijah Burke off the ring apron into the ring and a massive brawl between both teams ensues. Unlike on Smackdown where the New Breed got the better of the Originals, this time on Raw the Originals get the better of the New Breed with Tommy Dreamer hitting John Morrison over the head with a Kendo Stick as Sabu connects with the Air Sabu to a cornered Kevin Thorn and CM Punk connects with the Go to Sleep on Marcus Cor Von. Meanwhile Elijah Burke gets to his feet and notices three ECW Originals staring at him with all of his backup on the floor. Burke pledges for his life when suddenly from behind RVD places a steel trash can onto Elijah’s head and kicks him so he falls backwards onto the table. RVD then climbs to the top rope and connects with the Five Star Frog Splash to Burke through the table! CM Punk then places a hurt RVD onto Elijah Burke and RVD picks up the victory!
Winner: Rob Van Dam in 10:50
After the match The ECW Originals celebrate their victory, getting revenge for the car park beatdown on them by the New Breed on Smackdown. The New Breed back down the ramp signalling that they will get revenge for this as JR and King hype the 8 man tag between the teams at Unforgiven.
We then go backstage to see Candice Michelle in front of a camera backstage, and she gets a decent pop from the crowd. She says that last week she beat Beth Phoenix and that she wants her title back. She says she now knows that she can beat Beth and regain her Womens Championship. She then challenges Beth to a match next week, challenging Beth to put the title on the line as we go to a commercial break.
The second match of the evening is a tag team number one contender match as the Hooligans take on the Redneck Wrecking Crew, with the winners facing the Worlds Greatest Tag Team (Who once again join JR and King at ringside for this match) at Unforgiven. It was your typical average tag team match with the faces making a very bright start to the match before Brian Kendrick plays the role of face in peril. Cade and Murdoch did a very effective job of working over the leg of Brian Kendrick to slow the Cruiserweight down. This proved as Kendrick fought back after tripping Cade face first into the turnbuckle and he got to his feet and went to tag in London when suddenly he collapsed under his own weight not being able to support his leg and Lance Cade took the initiative and started working over the leg some more. But however all it took for The Hooligans to get back into the match was one mistake as Murdoch held Kendrick back and Cade bounced off the ropes and went for a clothesline on Kendrick, but Kendrick ducked and Cade took down his partner and Kendrick tags in Paul London. London came into the match like a house on fire, going after both Cade and Murdoch. London slammed Murdoch down to the mat and he climbs to the top rope and it looks like he is going to go for a high risk move, when Cade knocks him onto his crown jewels. Brian Kendrick who has had a rest then gets into the ring and takes Cade to the outside with a dropkick. Kendrick and London then team up on Murdoch with Kendrick hitting the sliced bread 2 and then London comes off the top rope with a Shooting Star press and he hooks the leg to get the three count.
Winners: The Hooligans in 8:19
After the match The Hooligans celebrate their victory knowing they have now got a title shot in six days time against Tag Team Champions The Worlds Greatest Tag Team. The Worlds Greatest Tag Team step up from their commentary position and they start trash talking The Hooligans who signal to the champs that they want their belts as we go backstage.
We then go backstage to see Todd Grisham standing by John Cena. Todd asks Cena if he has picked a partner for tonight’s main event against Ken Kennedy and Randy Orton. Cena says he has picked a partner who hates Randy Orton just as much as he does and he says that Orton might of hit him with the RKO earlier on tonight thanks to Ken Kennedy but at Unforgiven no one will be watching Randy Orton’s back and that he will regain what belongs to him. He says that at Unforgiven he will be the Last Man Standing and everyone will remember three simple letters, CKO standing for Cena killed Orton! Cena then walks off as we go to a commercial.
The third match of the evening sees Jeff Hardy prepare for his match at Unforgiven against Umaga, as he faces another monster in Snitsky. Rather surprisingly Snitsky seemed to be off form tonight with the losses piling up onto him now, and Jeff Hardy had the majority of the momentum in the match. Jeff Hardy straight from the start took it to Snitsky, taking him to the outside with a Hurricarana before slingshotting himself over the top rope onto Snitsky. Snitsky had one little moment in the match when he hit Hardy with a big boot but Hardy kicked out at two. But however it was Jeff Hardy who got the win after hitting Snitsky with a Whisper in the Wind followed by the Twist of Fate, followed up by a Swanton Bomb.
Winner: Jeff Hardy in 5:35
After the match Jeff Hardy celebrates his surprisingly easy victory as “Samoan Bulldozer” hits and Umaga comes down to the ring with Armando Alejandro Estrada. As they come down to the ring Estrada snaps his Cuban Cigar and instructs some instructions to Umaga. Umaga goes to get into the ring when suddenly Jeff Hardy hits him with a Baseball Slide Dropkick! Jeff Hardy then catapults himself over the top rope onto Umaga taking the Samoan Bulldozer down! Jeff Hardy then quickly grabs a chair on the outside and waits for Umaga to get up, before smashing the chair over Umaga’s skull. Jeff Hardy then tosses the chair to the flood and heads up down the ramp as Armando checks up on Umaga surprised at what just happened. Umaga gets to his feet and he loses his temper pushing the steel steps over and tossing the equipment off the Raw announce table as we go backstage.
We go backstage to see Santino flirting with Maria and Matt Stryker approaches them. Santino and Stryker hype up their upcoming match with Santino telling Stryker that he is going to stomp a mud pie and whip an ass whip on that ugly Hardcore porn Star (Hardcore Holly) and the brother of that gay gold man (Cody Rhodes). However the conversation goes ugly when Matt Stryker looks at Maria and is disgusted at how little she is wearing and says that it is half priced sluts like her who go around wearing just a Bikini and Thong that makes him sick of this Country. Maria asks Matt what is a Slut when Santino interrupts and tells Matt Stryker how dare he speak to his beautiful girlfriend Maria like that saying she is actually a full priced slut. Santino then says something to Maria in Italian and they both laugh as they look at Matt Stryker. This infuriates Stryker who says that he is not going to go out there and team up with someone who can’t even speak proper English. Santino tells Stryker that he likes the Italian Language better because just like Maria it is beautiful, unlike the American language which these ugly people in Green Bay Wisconsin use. Stryker says he is right about them being ugly but he tells Maria to put on some clothes because a man of his stature can not be seen with someone like that. Matt Stryker then walks off as Santino gives Matt Stryker the Little Finger behind his back (Supposed to me middle finger) before telling Maria to go change as we go to a commercial.
Next up we have a tag team match which brews from last week as Cody Rhodes teams up with Hardcore Holly to take on Matt Stryker and Santino who came down to the ring with Maria who is dressed up in a smart business suit thanks to Matt Stryker’s comments which doesn’t please Santino who tries to see a bit of cleavage as he makes his way down to the ring. During the match a bit of tension was shown between Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes after Rhodes accidentally bumped into Hardcore taking him off the apron and Hardcore Holly started shouting at Cody what the hell is he doing allowing Matt Stryker to attack him from behind. Stryker and Santino also had some miscommunication problems with Santino not understanding the simple phrase “Tag me” which Matt Stryker shouted at Santino to do and Santino very randomly apologises to Stryker and says he doesn’t swing that way. Also during the match Santino continued his mockery of Stone Cold stomping a “mudpie” in Cody Rhodes in the corner and giving him the little finger instead of the middle finger. The ending of the match saw Santino push Cody off the top rope as he went for a diving crossbody onto to Matt Stryker. Cody then got to his feet and staggered into Matt Stryker who connected with the Golden Rule and hooks the leg to get the three count to the disgust of Hardcore Holly
Winners: Matt Stryker and Santino Marella in 7:12
After the match Santino celebrated with Maria as Stryker gets his hand raised by the referee. Hardcore Holly looks on into the ring in disgust at what he just saw and shakes his head in disbelief. Hardcore Holly then watches on as Santino and Matt Stryker continue their beat down on Cody Rhodes in the ring. Hardcore looks like he is going to make the save for Cody, but he suddenly has a change of heart and he backs down the ramp and watches on as Santino Marella connects with the Stone Cold Stunner on Cody Rhodes! The crowd boos Santino’s actions as Hardcore Holly walks to the back as we go to a commercial.
When we get back from commercial we see the Kings Court set up in the ring with King Booker and Sharmell in the ring. King Booker starts off by quickly hyping his match with Triple H at Unforgiven, saying that he is going to behead the Game and he will make him kiss his royal feet. He then introduces his guest Vince McMahon who comes down to the ring accompanied by his executive assistant Jonathon Coachman. Vince starts off by talking about how at Unforgiven he will find out who his Bastard son is. Vince gives some names of who he would like his son to be including the likes of Randy Orton, Ken Kennedy and King Booker. Booker is about to thank Vince for his comment when “Time to Play the Game” hits and Triple H makes his way down to the ring. Triple H looks at King Booker before turning to Vince and says that he feels very emotional to see that McMahon has another son. He says that he and the McMahons have had a lot of history. He says he has beaten Vince to an inch of his life, he has beaten Shane to an inch of his life and he has also knocked up Stephanie. Triple H then has some fun with Vince about his bastard son showing numerous pictures on the Titantron, showing what his son might look like. He shows a picture of a baby gorilla saying it looks just like Vince. He then shows a picture of Stephanie McMahon with her baby Aurora Rose. Triple H calls it a cute baby and says that whoever knocked Stephanie up must be like the best looking man ever and must have one hell of a bazooka. Triple H then shows a final picture, which has a baby with half of Vince McMahon’s head and half of Jonathon Coachman’s head. Triple H then tells Coach he must have been putting more body parts up Vince’s ass other than his head. Vince McMahon then interrupts with the traditional “Shut up”. King Booker finally steps up saying how dare does Triple H speak to royalty like Vince McMahon like that. Triple H then calls Vince McMahon a Royal Jackass. This infuriates Vince McMahon who then gets into Triple H’s face and starts shouting at him how dare you speak to me like that. This just turns out to be a distraction as then suddenly King Booker attacks Triple H with his crown and he starts pounding away at him, but Triple H starts fighting back. Triple H starts wailing at him in the corner when suddenly Vince hits him from behind. Triple H turns around slowly smiling before kicking him in the mid section and setting him up for the Pedigree. But from behind King Booker takes down Triple H with a chop block before bouncing off the ropes and hitting the Scissors Kick. The crowd boos as King Booker and Vince McMahon shake hands as Triple H is left lying on the floor as we go to a commercial.
Our penultimate match of the evening sees Carlito make his second title defence, as he defends his Intercontinental Championship against former champion Val Venis. Val puts on a spirited performance against the champion getting in more offence than he has any right to with Carlito coming into the match too cocky and confident. Carlito made a huge mistake in the middle of the match by not pinning Val after he had connected with the Cool Shot and instead went to the outside to go for his apple. Carlito takes a bite out of it before going into the ring and he waits for Val to get to his feet before going to spit in his face, when Val smacks the apple right out of his mouth and connects with a Spin Out Powerbomb after ducking a clothesline by Carlito. Val picked up a gear and nearly took the title after connecting with a Fishermans Suplex but Carlito kicked out at two. The end of the match saw Val drop Carlito with a sick DDT before climbing to the top rope. Val goes for the Money Shot, but Carlito rolls out of the way! Both men get to their feet and Carlito connects with the Back Cracker and makes the cover to pick up the victory!
Winner: Still Intercontinental Champion Carlito in 6:07
After the match Carlito holds his Intercontinental Title up in the air in celebration. Carlito then goes to the outside and grabs an apple off Lillian Garcia and takes a bite out of it. He then gets into the ring and he spits the apple onto Val Venis just like he did to Cody Rhodes last week.
We then go backstage to see Randy Orton warming up for his upcoming match when Ken Kennedy walks up to him getting a big pop from his hometown crowd. Ken Kennedy tells Randy Orton that he is not helping Randy because he likes him, Kennedy says he is doing it to make an impression and he is doing it for a certain person. Randy Orton tells Kennedy he couldn’t care less why he is helping him because he can beat John Cena all by himself. Orton does however promise Ken Kennedy a title shot if they team up together to take out John Cena tonight. Kennedy shakes Orton’s hand on that as we go to a commercial.
When we get back from our final commercial we have our main event as WWE Champion Randy Orton teams up with hometown hero Ken Kennedy to take on John Cena and a partner of his choice. After John Cena makes his entrance he gets a mic and he starts hyping his tag team partner. Cena then tells Orton and Kennedy that it is time to play the game. Then “Time to Play the Game” hits and Triple H makes his way down to the ring to the disbelief of Orton and Kennedy.
After that big announcement of Cena’s partner we have a very entertaining main event which is given over ten minutes to produce a solid match. Even though this match was mainly to build up the Cena/Orton match at Unforgiven we get no signs of Cena and Orton going at it as every time Cena gets into the ring Randy Orton tags out to Ken Kennedy wanting no part of John Cena. John Cena and Triple H made an explosive start to the match and it looked like Triple H was going to pick up the win just a minute into the match when he set Ken Kennedy up for a Pedigree but Randy Orton made the save with a clothesline. Triple H played the face in peril throughout the middle of the match after Randy Orton hit a chop block to the Game and he started working over the Game’s leg, trying to reinjure his quadriceps. Randy Orton took a page from out of his former mentor Ric Flair’s book as he got Triple H in the Figure 4 Leg Lock. Somehow however Triple H got to the ropes. Randy Orton then set Triple H up for the Punt to the head but Triple H quickly got to his feet and caught Orton with a spinning Spinebuster. Orton knew Cena was going to get tagged in so he tagged Kennedy into the ring as Cena got into it and Cena starts cleaning house on Kennedy. Cena hits his normal routine of moves leading up to set Kennedy for the F-U but Kennedy slid off Cena’s shoulders and pushed him into the referee and low blowed him just before the ref got back to his feet. The last few minutes of the match saw some back and forth wrestling between the two teams, with all four men coming close to get the victories for their teams. The ending of the match saw Triple H hit the Pedigree on Kennedy only for Orton to break the count, John Cena finally got his hands on Orton and took him to the outside with a clothesline and they brawled it out on the outside. Triple H began to lift Kennedy back to his feet when he noticed King Booker coming down to the ring. Triple H took his eye off the ball and started challenging Booker to come down to the ring. Booker did enough to distract Triple H for long so that Ken Kennedy could come from behind and roll up Triple H grabbing a handful of tights and picks up the three count.
Winners: Ken Kennedy and Randy Orton in 11:58
After the match Triple H got straight back to his feet and chased straight after King Booker through the crowd as they both jumped the barricade. John Cena who was just getting back into the ring to break the count is then attacked by the victor of the match Ken Kennedy and then Randy Orton joins in and they start double teaming on John Cena. They whip Cena off the ropes, but Cena comes back off the ropes with a double clothesline. John Cena then hoists Kennedy onto his shoulders and connects with the F-U. Cena then starts trash talking down on Ken Kennedy before turning around into Randy Orton who goes for the RKO, but Cena pushes him away off the ropes. John Cena catches Orton off the ropes and goes to hit him with an F-U, but Orton slides off his shoulders and smartly scurries to the outside. Raw then comes to an end as the two competitors in this Sunday’s main event lock eyes.

*Opening video and pyro*
Michael Cole and JBL hype the show before “Don’t Waste My Time” hits and the New Breed consisting of Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von, John Morrison and Kevin Thorn make their way down to the ring. Elijah Burke cuts a promo on behalf of the New Breed hyping this Sunday’s 8 man tag ECW Rules match and trashing the brand they used to appear on ECW. Burke says that they couldn’t wait for ECW to die, because it was full of talent less former ECW extremists that had more place being in a retirement home than in the ring with greatness such as him. He says that this Sunday the New Breed will kill the last piece of the puzzle and that the ECW Originals will be washed out and the New Breed will become the future of the WWE. With that “Let the Bodies hit the Floor” hits and the ECW Originals make their way down to the ring to a big pop. RVD speaks on behalf of the ECW Originals saying he is sick and tired of hearing Elijah Burke talk about how the New Breed are going to be the future of the WWE, RVD says that the only thing they will get in their future is the ass kicking of their lives this Sunday at Unforgiven. Rob Van Dam says he hates the living hell out of the New Breed because along with Vince McMahon they helped kill ECW. Rob Van Dam says ECW is for extreme superstars, and says that all the New Breed were are Extreme Jackasses. He says that this Sunday we are going to wrestle for the pride and honour of ECW, and that the ECW Originals are going to teach them the meaning of Extreme and says that ECW Originals 4:20 will smoke your ass at Unforgiven. CM Punk then takes the mic off RVD and says that if any of the New Breed have a problem with that then he will face anyone of them right here right now. The New Breed have a quick discussion before Marcus Cor Von steps up and tells CM Punk that he can smell his fear because he is going to get hunted and is going to feel the POUNCE! John Morrison then cuts in saying that is not all and since the New Breed are so used to getting put through tables in the last few weeks, he challenges any one of them to face him in a tables match later on tonight. Sabu then steps up and accepts the challenge without saying anything. We then go to a commercial as the ECW Originals leave the ring and Marcus Cor Von makes his way down to face CM Punk.
After that opening promo we have our first match as a former ECW Champion in CM Punk takes on the highly rated Marcus Cor Von. This match turns out to be a very good entertaining back and forth match to start out the wrestling side of the show, with these two given ten minutes to put on a good match. In the early going Cor Von throws his weight around using his power to his advantage. But however when Cor Von misses a turnbuckle spear to CM Punk and smashes shoulder first into the steel ring post, CM Punk starts to use his speed and technical ability to his advantage. CM Punk starts to work over the arm of Cor Von to set him up for the Anaconda Vice. However Cor Von shows some fire and comes close to the victory after an Alpha Bomb only for Punk to kick out at two. The end of the match sees Cor Von go for the pounce on Punk, but Punk moves out of the way causing Cor Von to crash into the turnbuckle. Cor Von then turns around into CM Punk who hits the Uranage slam and then locks in the Anaconda Vice. It looks like Cor Von might submit when suddenly the rest of the New Breed flees the ring and put a beatdown on CM Punk causing the ref to call for the bell.
Winner: CM Punk via DQ in 10:21
Elijah Burke cracks a steel chair over the back of CM Punk as the ECW Originals flood the ring and go to attack the New Breed with some weapons but they smartly flee the ring pulling Cor Von out of the ring as they do so. RVD throws a chair down the ramp at The New Breed showing his anger as they have put a beat down on CM Punk. John Morrison then shouts at Sabu that there will be the same fate for him later on in the tables match as we go backstage.
We go backstage to see a furious Edge charging into General Manager Teddy Long’s office. Edge puts his belt on a chair to the side before he shouts at Teddy Long what he was thinking last week. He says that Teddy must be out of his mind to make him defend his title against Finlay, Kane and Rey Mysterio in a Fatal 4 way. He complains to Teddy that he beat both Kane and Rey Mysterio and Finlay doesn’t deserve a title shot. He tells Teddy to cancel that match now, but Teddy replies no. Edge asks Teddy if he has a problem with him and Teddy replies by saying that the fatal four way match is going to happen and tonight Edge will have to team up with Finlay to take on Kane and Rey Mysterio before giving out his “Holla Holla Holla” line. Edge then turns around to pick his belt up, but it is not there. Edge asks Teddy where he put his belt before running out of the office to see Hornswoggle with the World Title! Hornswoggle laughs at Edge before running off with the belt, causing Edge to chase him in pursuit as we go to a commercial.
The second match of the evening sees Stevie Richards who beat Chris Masters in a shocker last week team up with the motorcycle riding Chuck Palumbo to face highly rated Kenny Dykstra and Chris Masters. In the early going Chris Masters showed a lot of intensity and showed his aggressive side on Stevie Richards pummelling away at him wanting to get revenge for his loss last week. Stevie Richards played the face in peril for the majority of the match with Masters and Dykstra smartly keeping Richards away from Palumbo. But however Stevie Richards made the tag after hitting Dykstra with a dropkick and Chuck Palumbo started cleaning house on both of his opponents. Palumbo nearly took the victory after hitting the full throttle on Dykstra but Masters broke the count. The ending of the match saw Masters send Palumbo off the ropes only for Stevie Richards to tag himself in from behind. Masters didn’t notice this and after he ducked a clothesline from Palumbo and got him in the Masterlock, Richards came from behind with a roll up and steals the victory over Masters for the second week in a row!
Winners: Chuck Palumbo and Stevie Richards in 6:47
We then go backstage to see Edge still in pursuit of Hornswoggle who has stolen his World Title belt. Hornswoggle runs under a table and Edge jumps over it and then Hornswoggle starts climbing a ladder which is right by the table. Edge starts climbing up there following Hornswoggle who jumps off. Hornswoggle then grabs the ladder and threatens to push Edge off the ladder through the table. Edge tells Hornswoggle not to do it, but he starts to push him and Edge has to jump off the ladder hurting his leg in the process. Edge recovers to his feet however and he continues to chase him down the backstage area. Hornswoggle then runs around a wall which goes to the left, and Edge runs around only to bump into the back of Kane! Kane turns around looking very pissed off and now he starts to chase Edge as we go to a commercial.
Next up we have a very random Cruiserweight match, as instead of your typical singles or tag team match we have a fatal four way as the Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble takes on the man who has got a pinfall on him two weeks in a row Kid Kash, Billy Kidman and Frankie Kazarian. The stipulation of this match is that if Noble wins, none of his opponents get a title shot and if one of his opponents get the win they get a title shot next week against Noble. It was a very fast exciting match as all Cruiserweight matches are with a lot of near falls. All three men had opportunities to get the victory, but each time someone came in to break the fall. The ending of the match saw Frankie Kazarian connect with a belly to belly overhead suplex to Billy Kidman, before turning around into Jamie Noble who hit a double underhook powerbomb. Noble then made the cover only for Kid Kash to come off the top rope with a frog splash over the head of Jamie Noble taking him out and he made the cover to get his third pinfall victory over Jamie Noble in three weeks and to earn a title shot against Noble next week.
Winner: Kid Kash in 7:03
Post match sees Kid Kash celebrate his third victory over Jamie Noble, who looks rather worried that he has to face Kash next week for the title.
We then go backstage to see the New Breed in the locker room and they are forming a plan for John Morrison’s match with Sabu. Suddenly Theodore Long enters the room. Teddy tells them that he is fed up of watching the New Breed and the Originals tear each other up. He says that someone is going to get hurt and he is not going to sort out that mess. He says that there will be no outside interference allowed in the John Morrison v Sabu match and says to make sure that happens he is barring the rest of the New Breed from the arena. Elijah Burke begins to complain, but Teddy Long says that he has given the same instructions to the rest of the ECW Originals so everything is fair. Teddy Long then walks off as Elijah Burke then tells his New Breed members he has a plan as we go to another area backstage.
We go to another area backstage to see Matt Hardy warming up for his upcoming match, when MVP walks into the frame. MVP tells Hardy that he might want a shot at this US Title, but the main focus at the moment is to retain the Tag Team Championships this Sunday against Regal and Taylor. MVP tells Hardy that he is going to go out there with Hardy to watch his back and make sure that they don’t take Hardy out before Unforgiven. Hardy thanks MVP and says that he agrees that they need to focus on this Sunday, but he says that after that bell rings and the match is over he will be back after MVP and his US Title. Hardy then walks off leaving a frustrated MVP.
Next up we have a warm up match for this Sundays clash between Matt Hardy and MVP against Regal and Taylor as Matt Hardy goes one on one with William Regal. It was a very technical match, which saw not many risks taken, and a lot of ground and pound wrestling. Matt Hardy despite having to wrestle William Regal in his own game, he held his own and looked good as he worked over the leg of William Regal. The match really picked up a gear towards the end as we saw some fast paced back and forth wrestling between the two great wrestlers. Both men came close to victory only for the partners to come in and save them from defeat. Matt Hardy hit Regal with a side effect and made the cover but David Taylor quickly put his partners foot on the rope. Moments later MVP made the save for Matt Hardy after pulling William Regal to the outside as he made the cover after a Regal Double Underhook Powerbomb. David Taylor and MVP then got into a brawl on the outside as William Regal slowly got back into the ring. Matt Hardy meanwhile had gotten back to his feet and he watched on at the MVP/Taylor brawl on the outside, and we see MVP toss Taylor shoulder first into the steel ring post. MVP then distracts Hardy even more saying that’s how you do it, and then suddenly from behind William Regal rolls up Hardy and grabs a handful of tights and gets the three count despite MVP’s attempt to break it up.
Winner: William Regal in 7:22
After the match Regal and Taylor celebrate down the ramp knowing they have picked up some momentum heading into Unforgiven. Meanwhile Matt Hardy kicks the bottom rope in frustration and shouts at MVP that he cost him the match and MVP replies by telling Hardy he didn’t have his head on the game and if they want to keep their titles he is going to have to get his head on straight. They continue to argue as we go backstage.
We go backstage to see that Edge has gotten away from Kane but he is still in pursuit of his World Heavyweight Championship. Edge shouts down the backstage area where is that Slimy Little Bastard. Edge then cuts quiet as he sees Hornswoggle walking down the backstage area turning a corner. Edge then grabs a chair and he quickly makes a move after Hornswoggle not trying to make a noise. He waits by the wall, before turning right around the wall and swings his Chair and HE NEARLY HITS FINLAY WITH THE CHAIR! Finlay asks Edge what the hell he is doing, to which Edge replies that Little Bastard has got my belt and he tells Finlay to make him give it back. Finlay takes the title off Hornswoggle and gives it back to Edge saying that he might be giving the belt to Edge now, but he expects Edge to hand the belt over to Finlay when he wins the World Heavyweight Title at Unforgiven.
The next match sees the second contest between the New Breed and the ECW Originals tonight as John Morrison takes on Sabu in a Tables Match. It was a pretty good match, but was however kept pretty short as there is a lot to fit in to tonight’s show. John Morrison was put through a table early on but it didn’t count as he put himself through the table after he set a table in the corner with Sabu next to it, and he went to spear him through the table but Sabu moved and Morrison went straight through the table. Sabu brought a chair into the match and we saw some typical Sabu action using the chair as a springboard to hit a Moonsault before tossing the chair to Morrison later on and dropkicking the chair into the face of John Morrison. The ending saw Sabu set Morrison up on the table and climb up onto the top rope. But however from behind a CAMERA MAN STRIKES SABU WITH THE CAMERA! The camera man then takes off his hat to reveal himself as Elijah Burke. John Morrison then recovers and picks up an injured Sabu and he places him on the top rope before connecting with a superplex off the top rope to Sabu through the table!
Winner: John Morrison in 6:05
After the match Elijah Burke floods the ring with Marcus Cor Von and Kevin Thorne and they along with John Morrison continue the attack on Sabu, despite them being told earlier they had to leave the building along with the ECW Originals. The New Breed know that the rest of the Originals are not in the building so they take advantage all hitting their finishers onto Sabu. Elijah Burke then places a chair over the neck of Sabu and steps up onto the middle rope. Elijah Burke then jumps off ONTO THE CHAIR, WHICH IS OVER SABU’S NECK! Blood starts coming out of Sabu’s mouth and The New Breed raise their arms in celebration, as it looks like Sabu might not be able to compete at Unforgiven which is just two days away as we go backstage.
We then go backstage to see new Smackdown announcer Anastasia standing by Batista. She introduces herself and then Batista before asking him how he feels about his main event match with Mark Henry. Batista says that everyone knows how he feels about Mark Henry, and he will have the pleasure of kicking his ass one more time. He then goes onto the fact that he doesn’t have a match at Unforgiven, but he promises that he will make an impact. Batista then looks intensely into the camera as we go to a commercial break.
Our penultimate match of the night sees a preview of this Sunday’s fatal 4 way for the World Heavyweight Championship, as the champion Edge teams up with Finlay to take on the team of Kane and Rey Mysterio. We have a very solid tag team match which saw a lot of action between all four competitors. The start of the match saw Rey Mysterio and Kane clean house on Finlay and Edge, with Mysterio taking Finlay to the outside with a Hurricarana and Kane taking Edge over the top with a big boot. But however Finlay resorted to dirty tactics to get back in the match as Hornswoggle came in the ring and started attacking Rey Mysterio, as Mysterio went to fight back Hornswoggle jumped out of the ring, and as Hornswoggle distracted the referee Finlay came from behind with a Shillelagh shot to the back of Rey Mysterio’s leg. The pace of the match slows down for a little bit as they work over the leg of Mysterio. Rey somehow crawls to the bottom rope when Edge locks in the Edgeucator. Rey Mysterio starts to fight back however when Edge misses a spear, and he hits a staggering Edge with a Tornado DDT. Mysterio fights back against Edge with a hurt Leg and gets him into position for the 619, but Edge in mid air clips the leg of Mysterio causing him to land very heavily on his knee. Edge then grabs Mysterio by the leg, but Rey hits him with an Enzuigiri and he tags in Kane. Kane starts to clean house on both Finlay and Edge. Kane then sets Edge up for a Chokeslam but once again Hornswoggle gets involved allowing Finlay to get in the ring with the Shillelagh but gets his head taken off with a big boot. But Kane turns around into a Spear, Edge makes the cover but Kane kicks out! Finlay goes for revenge on Kane, but Mysterio takes Finlay to the outside as Kane sits up. Kane then grabs a shocked Edge by his throat and gets to his feet. Before twisting Edge upside down and dropping him head first onto the mat with the Tombstone Piledriver! Kane hooks the legs and he beats the Champion going into Unforgiven.
Winners: Kane and Rey Mysterio in 10:49
After the match Kane raises his arm in the air in victory. Edge rolls to the outside of the ring and grabs his World Heavyweight Championship and scurries down the ramp, as Finlay is furious that Edge lost the match for his team. Meanwhile in the ring Kane goes to set off his pyros when Rey Mysterio dropkicks Kane onto the bottom rope! Mysterio bounces off the ropes and hits the 619 to Kane, getting revenge on Kane who hit Mysterio with a Chokeslam last week. Mysterio then points at Edge signalling he wants his title as we go to a commercial break.
The main event sees a battle between two former rivals being Batista and Mark Henry. Bit surprising that this was main event over the Tag Team Match but see the ending and aftermath of the match if you want to know why . As you would expect you don’t see a really great match here, but they produce a solid enough contest. In the early going we saw a very physical battle between the two Monsters as we saw a lot of punches and clotheslines being thrown around. But however Mark Henry took advantage after he hit Batista with a big backbreaker. Henry started to work over the back of Batista getting him into the Torture Rack. But Batista somehow slid off and he started taking it to the Worlds Strongest Man taking him down with a big spear and he made the cover but Henry somehow kicked out at two. It looked like Batista was going to pick up the win when he hit Henry with the Spinebuster and he set him up for the Batista Bomb but Henry countered it into a Back body drop. Henry then went for a clothesline but Batista ducked and Henry took the referee’s head off. Henry then hit Batista with a big clothesline before going to the outside of the ring. Henry picks up a steel chair and tosses it into the ring. Mark Henry waits for Batista to get up before driving the chair into the gut of Batista, before smashing it over his spine taking him down to his knees. Henry then goes to smash it over Batista’s skull when….
The lights in the arena go off and we see Mark Henry looking down the ramp awaiting the Undertaker. But we don’t get any notice of the Undertaker as the lights switch back on. Henry then slowly turns around into Batista who catches Henry off guard hitting a big Spinebuster to the Silverback ontop of the Steel Chair. Batista then slides the chair out of the ring as a recovered referee counts the three count giving the victory to Batista.
Winner: Batista in 8:55
After the match Batista celebrates his victory by raising his arms at each corner before leaving the ring and slapping hands with fans at ringside as he makes his way to the back. Meanwhile in the ring a furious Mark Henry shouts out at the Undertaker to come down to the ring right now, angry that he lost because of Undertaker’s music. Ask and you shall receive as once again we hear a “Gong” and the lights in the arena go off. The lights then quickly come back and AN ARM FROM UNDERNEATH THE RING COMES UP THROUGH THE MAT! Loads of smoke is released from under the ring as the arm grabs Mark Henry by the leg and starts to pull him under the ring as the lights go off. We end the show with Mark Henry being pulled through the tear in the ring underneath the ring by what must be the Undertaker.

Re: WWE: Turning The Corner
Backstage WWE news and rumours
With WWE’s next PPV offering in just a couple of hours, the WWE have been rocked by the news that one of their biggest stars has decided that he is going to leave the company in the next week. It has been confirmed that this former World Heavyweight Champion has decided not to renew his contract and will leave the WWE in the next seven days. Expect something to happen this week at either the TV tapings or even the PPV show tonight, to confirm this news.
Talking about Unforgiven, tonight the “Bastard son” storyline comes to an head when we find out who will be Vince McMahon’s other son. The most likely man for this role at the moment is Ken Kennedy, but a couple of other names have been thrown around, which some could be a possibility. Whoever the son turns out to be will most likely be receiving a big push over the coming months up to Wrestlemania, where we have heard might face either Triple H or John Cena.
Tonight’s WWE Championship match between Randy Orton and John Cena could surprisingly go either way, because of a split feeling on who should win the match by the backstage booking team. Many believe that Randy Orton should have a long successful reign with the belts to help keep him over, and to prevent what happened last time from happening. But however the other half of the booking team including Stephanie McMahon believes that John Cena should regain the title as he is still their biggest draw and will keep the crowds coming in, something Randy Orton might not be able to do as good. On the Smackdown World Heavyweight Title scene expect Edge to walk out with the title, and then move onto a feud with either Batista or the Undertaker. The belief is that at Wrestlemania the main event will feature Edge versus The Undertaker.
1st. Randy Orton
- Randy Orton stays at the top of the Power 25 for the third week running, but could slip down if he loses his title at Unforgiven.
- Edge could move to the top spot next week if he wins and Randy Orton falters, but after seeing Kane beat him this week on Smackdown, his title reign is under threat.
-Batista moves up one space this week after beating former rival Mark Henry. Has promised that he will make an impact this Sunday at Unforgiven.
-Kane moves up after pinning the World Heavyweight Champion on Smackdown. Will he be as lucky at Unforgiven?
5th. John Cena
-Cena drops two places after being on the losing side in a tag team match on Raw and with Batista and Kane having better weeks. But can Cena turn it around by becoming WWE Champion?
6th. CM Punk
- Stays in 6th with a DQ victory over Marcus Cor Von, and with people below having bad weeks.
7th. King Booker
- King Booker rises right up to seventh after once again getting the better of Triple H, helping Ken Kennedy get a pinfall victory over the Game on Raw.
8th. Matt Hardy
-Has a big tag team match this Sunday for the titles, but he has made his point clear that he wants a shot at MVP’s US Title.
-Carlito rises into the top ten as he continues a very impressive winning streak as he retains his IC Title once more.
10th. Mark Henry
-On the brink of dropping out of the top ten after loss to Batista on Smackdown, and has a big match with the returning Undertaker at Unforgiven who made a big impression on Smackdown pulling Henry under the ring.
-Umaga drops out of the top ten, as Jeff Hardy got the better of Umaga for the second week running.
12th. John Morrison
- Big victory for Morrison on Smackdown beating Sabu in his own game, and has helped the New Breed to have the advantage going into Unforgiven, after a vicious attack on Sabu.
13th. Rey Mysterio
-Continues to rise after big tag team victory on Smackdown over the World Champion. Made his impact after the match by then hitting his partner Kane with the 619.
14th. Ken Kennedy
-Huge victory for Ken Kennedy on Raw after beating the ten time World Heavyweight Champion Triple H in a tag team match.
- Disappointing loss on Smackdown this past week, but has his best chance to become a World Champion at Unforgiven.
-Made the distraction that caused Matt Hardy to lose on Smackdown, will have to be a lot more careful this Sunday when they put the titles on the line.
17th. Rob Van Dam
- Proved why he is the captain of the Originals after beating the New Breed’s leader Elijah Burke in an ECW Rules match. Will have problems however leading his three-man team against the four-man team of The New Breed if Sabu does not participate.
18th. Beth Phoenix
-Non appearance this week, but will make one next week when she defends her title against Candice Michelle.
19th. Triple H
-Has had weeks of torment by King Booker, and Unforgiven will be his best chance to get some revenge.
20th. Candice Michelle
- Has made the challenge, and gets her title shot against Beth Phoenix next week.
21st. Jeff Hardy
- Another victory this week, this time over Snitsky and also once again gets the better of Umaga getting some momentum into Unforgiven.
22nd. New Breed
- Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von once again made an impact, and after their attack on Sabu it looks like they have the advantage going into Unforgiven.
23rd. Worlds Greatest Tag Team
-Get their first real test when their titles are on the line this Sunday when they face the Hooligans.
24th. The Hooligans
-Move into the Power 25 by earning a Tag Team Title shot against The Worlds Greatest Tag Team at Unforgiven.
25th. Kid Kash
-Moves into the Power 25 after three successive victories over the Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble. Can he do it next week when the title is on the line though?
Ok an update of Unforgiven, I am about half way through. It should be up in the next 5-7 days in recap form. Thanks for the Predictions and keep them coming in.

Re: WWE: Turning The Corner
Ok here is a recapped version of Unforgiven, hope you enjoy it and will return all reviewsWWE Unforgiven
Date: September 16th 2007
Location: FedEx Forum in Memphis Tennessee
Theme Music: Rise Today by Alter Bridge
*Opening Video Package and Pyros*
After some eardrum shattering pyros go off, we pan around the pumped up Memphis Tennessee crowd, before going over to Michael Cole and JBL at ringside. They hype up the Smackdown matches for the evening, including the return of the Undertaker before sending it over to JR and Jerry Lawler representing Raw. They hype up the Raw matches for the evening, including the Last Man Standing Match between John Cena and Randy Orton, and also hype up the fact that we will find out who Vince McMahon’s son is. They then send it over to Lillian Garcia to make the introductions for the first match.
“Hooligans” hits and the team of Paul London and Brian Kendrick come sprinting down to the ring for this opening contest. They climb opposite turnbuckles and salute the fans, before they both moonsault off them landing on their feet and they get ready for the match ahead.
“Worlds Greatest” hits and the World Tag Team Champions The Worlds Greatest Tag Team make their way down to the ring to some heat from the crowd. They get in the ring and hold their titles aloft, before giving them to the referee for the match.
World Tag Team Championships
The Hooligans v The Worlds Greatest Tag Team ©
What a match we get to kick off the show with the two teams putting on a fantastic action packed match to kick Unforgiven off. As soon as the bell rings the Worlds Greatest Tag Team ambush the challengers, tossing Kendrick to the outside and start beating up on Paul London. The match starts with an electric pace, with the Worlds Greatest Tag Team nearly picking up the victory just fifth seconds into the match, hitting a Superkick into Bridging German Suplex combo, but London kicks out at two. The champs continue to double team on London setting him up for the Worlds Greatest Double Team, but as Benjamin runs to the ropes Brian Kendrick comes off the top rope with a missile dropkick to Benjamin, as London who is hanging over the top rope takes Haas to the outside with a Hurricarana. Kendrick and London then start double-teaming on Benjamin, and they climb opposite turnbuckles and both go to hit a diving move onto Benjamin at the same time when Haas pulls Benjamin to the outside. Haas checks up on Benjamin, as London and Kendrick bounce off the ropes hitting a diving plancha over the top rope onto Benjamin and Haas on the outside!
The action is taken back into the ring and for the next few minutes we have some fast paced back and forth wrestling between the two teams, with neither team seeming to gain an advantage. But around the 8 minute that changed as the illegal man Shelton Benjamin pushes the legal man Paul London off the top rope, causing London to crash down face first on the Smackdown announce Table. Benjamin and Haas used some dirty tactics to keep control of the match, and to not allow London to tag in Kendrick. Things looked bad for London when Benjamin locked on a Half Nelson Choke with Bodyscissors, squeezing away at a lifeless Paul London. London somehow though fought his way to his feet, and elbowed his way out of it before bouncing off the ropes. London came back looking for a sunset flip, but Benjamin sits down on London’s chest and hooks both legs but London kicks out at 2. Benjamin then set London up for a Powerbomb, but in mid air London counters it into a Tornado DDT and he tags in Brian Kendrick!
Brian Kendrick comes into the ring like a house on fire going after both Benjamin and Haas. But as Kendrick went for the Sliced Bread on Benjamin, Haas intervened from the apron and dropped him throat first over the top rope. Haas then tags himself in and the last few minutes of the match sees some more fast paced action, with the match looking like it could go either way. We see a great sequence between all four wrestlers, with a ton of reversals between them all leading to Benjamin and Haas colliding head on in the corner of the ring. Kendrick then connects with the Sliced Bread on Benjamin as London takes Haas to the outside with a dropkick. Kendrick makes the cover but somehow Benjamin kicks out at two! Kendrick then tags In London who climbs to the top and connects with the SHOOTING STAR PRESS and hooks the leg, but this time Haas breaks the count! Haas then catches a charging Kendrick with an overhead Belly to Belly Suplex taking him inside out in mid air, before ducking a clothesline from Paul London and dropping him with a German Suplex. Haas then sets London against the ropes, and a recovered Benjamin bounces off the ropes and connects with the Worlds Greatest Double Team! London then staggers around into Benjamin who connects with a T-Bone Suplex and makes the cover but LONDON KICKS OUT! Haas then holds London in the corner and allows Benjamin to go for the Stinger Splash, but London moves and Benjamin hits Haas! London then takes Haas to the outside, before connecting with a step up enzuigiri to Benjamin. Paul London then climbs to the top rope and waits for Benjamin to reach his feet. London goes for a diving Hurricarana, but SHELTON BENJAMIN CATCHES LONDON IN MID AIR WITH A POWERBOMB! Benjamin then grabs hold of the legs and flips over into a bridge 1……….2……..3! They retain their titles in a fantastic match.
Winners: The Worlds Greatest Tag Team retain their World Tag Team Championships in 13:49
After the match Shelton Benjamin rolls to the outside and checks up on Charlie Haas before grabbing their titles and celebrating a great title defence. Brian Kendrick checks up on London looking very disappointed that they lost out, but points to Benjamin and Haas saying that one day they will take their titles.
We then go backstage to see Jonathon Coachman saying that is how you open up a PPV, and says that no Smackdown match could compete with that. Vince McMahon walks in to some big heat. Vince firstly talks about how he looks forward to seeing The New Breed destroy the Originals, and King Booker destroying Triple H, and then some more destroying with Randy Orton ending the career of John Cena. Vince then talks about he looks forward to meeting his son. Vince then asks Coach if he has heard any news. Coach says he got a phone call saying that his son is on his way to the arena. Vince then tells Coach that he will go out to the parking lot and await his entrance to the arena then. Vince then walks off as we go to another area backstage.
We go to another backstage area to see Rey Mysterio warming up for his big fatal four-way match tonight. Batista then enters the frame getting a big pop. Batista shakes Mysterio’s hand and tells Rey that he has just come to wish him luck tonight and he hopes that he kicks Edge’s ass tonight. Mysterio thanks Batista and says he won’t let him down before questioning Batista, on his comments on Smackdown that he is going to make an impact tonight. Batista’s face turns into a frown from a smile and he tells Rey that he is just going to have to wait and see. Batista then walks off, leaving Rey intrigued at what Batista just said.
“2Extreme” hits and Jeff Hardy makes his way down to the ring to a big pop from the crowd. He sets off his pyros at the top of the ramp, before making his way down to the ring slapping hands with fans at ringside. As he gets in the ring we see replays of Jeff Hardy’s attack on Umaga this past week on Raw, attacking him with a steel chair.
“Samoan Bulldozer” hits and Umaga makes his way down to the ring to some big time heat from the crowd. He comes out accompanied by his manager Armando Alejandro Estrada who points at Jeff Hardy, telling Umaga he wants him to cripple him.
Jeff Hardy v Umaga
Just like he has done the last two weeks, Jeff Hardy straight away takes it to Umaga, attacking him as soon as he gets into the ring. But it looks though it is going to be a long night for Hardy, as Umaga catches Jeff Hardy off the ropes with a big Scrapbuster Slam! But Jeff Hardy used his quickness to his advantage dodging a charging Umaga in the corner, before bouncing off the ropes and connecting with a Spinning Wheel kick to the Jaw of Umaga. Jeff Hardy then took Umaga to the outside under the bottom rope with a Hurricarana, before hitting a Springboard Moonsault onto a standing Umaga on the outside! In the early few minutes of the match we see a very different Umaga, as he is mostly put on the defence than instead of being on the offence.
It looked as though it was going to be a long night for Hardy though, when Umaga caught Jeff Hardy off the ropes with a Scrapbuster Slam. However Jeff Hardy got straight back in it after dodged a charging Umaga in the corner, and he starts taking it to the Big Samoan with some hard right hands. Jeff Hardy then took Umaga off his feet moments later with a Spinning Wheel kick to the Jaw. Jeff Hardy then took Umaga to the outside with a Hurricarana before hitting a springboard somersault Senton over the top rope onto Umaga on the outside! In the early going we see a very different Umaga, as surprisingly he was mostly on the defence rather than the offence with Jeff Hardy coming close to victory several occasions. The closest chance comes after Hardy connected with the Twist of Fate, but Umaga kicks out at two! Jeff Hardy moments later hit the Whisper in the Wind but as well as knocking down Umaga, he takes down the referee. Hardy then climbs to the top and goes for the Swanton Bomb, but he hesitated, just realising he took down the referee allowing Umaga to get to his feet and push Jeff Hardy out to the outside face first off the barricade!
Jeff Hardy took a very heavy fall as he did so and he looks out of it and Umaga goes to take advantage on the outside. Umaga lifts Hardy to his feet and viciously throws him head first into the steel ring post! Umaga then lifts Jeff Hardy to his feet and onto his shoulders and charges him once more head first into the Steel Ring Post this time BUSTING JEFF HARDY OPEN! Umaga then rolls Jeff Hardy into the ring and he goes to wake up the referee. It takes a while to do so, and as he picks Jeff Hardy to his feet, Jeff Hardy starts showing some heart throwing some hard right hands at Umaga. He then bounces off the ropes only for Umaga to catch him with a vicious Samoan Drop! Umaga continues the vicious assault hitting Hardy with a running headbutt when he set him up in the tree of woe position, before following that off with a big body splash off the top rope. Umaga made the cover and was about to get the three when Umaga lifted Hardy’s shoulder up and shook his head not wanting to finish Hardy off just yet. Umaga drags Hardy into the corner and connects with a sick Samoan Wrecking Ball, snapping Hardy’s neck back! Jeff Hardy at this time is out of it and the referee tells Umaga to stop, but Umaga walks to the opposite corner before connecting with a second Samoan Wrecking Ball! Armando Alejando Estrada then gets Umaga’s attention and snaps his Cuban Cigar telling Umaga to end the match. Umaga then lifts a bloody and beaten Jeff Hardy to his feet and connects with the SAMOAN SPIKE! But Umaga keeps hold of Jeff Hardy, and he repeatedly hits Jeff Hardy with MORE AND MORE SAMOAN SPIKES. Jeff Hardy is defenceless and is out of it and the referee calls for the bell giving Umaga the win via referee stoppage as he has seen enough.
Winner: Umaga via referee stoppage in 8:24
After the match Umaga holds Hardy’s bloody head, showing it to the world. Umaga then wipes his hand on Hardy’s forehead, before wiping Hardy’s blood over his chest. Armando Alejandro Estrada holds Umaga’s hand up in celebration as we go backstage.
We go backstage to see Josh Matthews standing by the ECW Originals of CM Punk, Rob Van Dam and Tommy Dreamer notably without Sabu. Josh Mathews shows footage of the New Breed’s vicious attack on Sabu during Smackdown this past week and he asks them if Sabu will take part in this match. Rob Van Dam says that Sabu wanted to wrestle tonight, but because of doctors orders, Sabu will not take part in this match. RVD says that they will however go out there and fight. He says that ECW has always been the underdog and it will be the same predicament here, but he says that tonight there will be one thing which carries them through the match despite being one man down. And that is the fact that they are wrestling for ECW, wrestling for Sabu and every other superstar down the years that has competed in ECW. He says that tonight will be a night that no ECW fan will forget, because CM Punk, Rob Van Dam and Tommy Dreamer will go out and smoke the New Breed’s asses. RVD then tells his troops lets go out and fight, and the three of them walk off as we go to another area backstage.
We go backstage to the parking lot where we can see Vince McMahon sitting in a chair that he has placed backstage just outside the door to get in the arena waiting for his bastard son to arrive at the arena despite not knowing who it is. Suddenly a very luxurious car pulls up just outside the arena and the front door opens. And then out steps John Cena with a Big “The Champ is here”! John Cena walks to Vince and asks how Vinnie Mac is doing and then forces a hug on him. Vince tells Cena to get off him, and Cena tells Vince to not worry because he is not going to push him on his ass like he did on Raw just two weeks ago. Cena then asks Vince where is the fatherly love and tells Vince that he is Vince’s son. Vince’s faces goes red and he gives a very loud “WHAT”, and Cena replies saying that he is only messing with Vince. Vince asks Cena if he thinks he is funny, before telling Cena that Orton kicking Cena in the head tonight and ending his career will be funny. Cena smiles at Vince before telling him that tonight John Cena will regain what rightfully belongs to him and that is the WWE Championship. John Cena then tells Vince to give his pretty boy WWE Champion a message. Vince asks what that is and John Cena replies by sticking his middle finger up at Vince and says “F-U”. This gets a big pop as Cena taps Vince very hardly on the shoulders as he enters the arena, leaving a very angry Vince McMahon.
“Don’t Waste My Time” hits and The New Breed consisting of Elijah Burke, John Morrison, Kevin Thorn and Marcus Cor Von come down to the ring to some big heat from the crowd. They make their way down to the ring looking very cocky and confident, especially now as they know that Sabu won’t be competing and it will be in fact a handicap match.
“Let the Bodies hit the Floor” hits and the ECW Originals consisting of Rob Van Dam, CM Punk and Tommy Dreamer make their way down to the ring, all with weapons in hand as they come down looking ready for a fight.
4 v 3 Handicap ECW Rules Match
ECW Originals v New Breed
This has been called as the final ECW Match ever and if it is, what a match to mark the end of ECW. The match starts off with a big brawl between both teams, and despite the New Breed having the numbers advantage; the ECW Originals have their equalisers as they attack all four members of the New Breed with Weapons. Tommy Dreamer smashes his Kendo Stick over the heads of both Kevin Thorn and Elijah Burke, as CM Punk attacks John Morrison with a Baseball Bat and RVD tosses a steel chair into the hands of Marcus Cor Von and connects with the Van Daminator. The match then goes into the ring for the next few minutes where we don’t see much Hardcore action, but the in ring stuff we get is very good between all seven men with a lot of back and forth action and fast tags. The Originals nearly take the victory early on after Tommy Dreamer connected with a DVD on John Morrison, which was then followed by a Split Legged Moonsault by RVD and he made the cover, but team captain Elijah Burke made the save for his team.
However the Numbers game comes into play and the New Breed start to team up on CM Punk, keeping Punk as far away as possible from his corner. They play a very smart game trying to keep the Originals away from using any weapons and wrestling the match their way. However when Elijah Burke misses the Elijah Express and CM Punk tags in Rob Van Dam this all changes. Just like we had at the start of the match a big brawl ensues between both teams with the ECW Originals getting the better of their opponents. All three of them go to the outside and toss some weapons into the ring including a Trash Can, a Steel Chair and even a Guitar. The Originals go crazy on The New Breed with their weapons with Tommy Dreamer firstly smashing a Steel Chair over the head of Elijah Burke. Then CM Punk takes out both John Morrison and Marcus Cor Von with Trash Can Shots to the head and finally RVD SHATTERS A GUITAR OVER THE HEAD OF KEVIN THORN! All New Breed members then roll out of the ring and try to pick themselves up on the outside when both CM Punk and RVD bounce off the ropes, and dive over the top rope onto the New Breed members on the outside. Tommy Dreamer meanwhile looks under the ring and he pulls out 4 Wooden Tables. CM Punk and RVD help Tommy Dreamer set up all four tables with two tables next to each other with two on top of those.
But however they took too long to set them up allowing the New Breed members to recover. Marcus Cor Von catches CM Punk with a big right hand and they go at it, as do Rob Van Dam and Kevin Thorn, and finally Tommy Dreamer is left to fight off both Elijah Burke and John Morrison. In the next few minutes, the match starts to pick up as we start to see more Hardcore spots, which the ECW Originals fall victim to. CM punk is the first victim when he goes out to help Tommy Dreamer fight off both Morrison and Burke, when from out of nowhere MARCUS COR VON POUNCES CM PUNK THROUGH THE BARRICADE! CM Punk appears to be down and out of the match as security guards try to keep the fans away from Punk. Tommy Dreamer tries to get revenge for Punk by attacking Cor Von, when Elijah Burke and John Morrison join Cor Von in triple team attack on Tommy Dreamer. Elijah Burke orders Morrison and Cor Von to hold up Tommy Dreamer on his feet as he looks under the ring, and PULLS OUT A BASEBALL BAT WRAPPED AROUND IN BARBED WIRE! Elijah Burke then swings the baseball bat and STRIKES DREAMER IN THE FACE WITH THE BASEBALL BAT WRAPPED IN BARBED WIRE BUSTING HIM OPEN! However in the ring it is a different situation as Rob Van Dam gets the better of Kevin Thorn coming close to victory after connecting with a Five Star Frog Splash to Kevin Thorn and makes the cover, but Kevin Thorn very surprisingly gets his foot on the bottom rope. RVD then drags Kevin Thorn onto the ring apron and he places him ontop of the stack of tables on the outside. RVD then gets back into the ring and he bounces off the rope, and it looks like he is going to dive over the top rope onto Kevin Thorn through all of the tables on the outside when Elijah Burke takes RVD’s head off with a Clothesline. Marcus Cor Von pulls Kevin Thorn off the tables as Elijah Burke then sets up RVD on the top stack of tables. John Morrison then climbs onto the ring apron and he goes over to the turnbuckle and uses the turnbuckle as a springboard CONNECTING WITH A SPRINGBOARD MOONSAULT TO RVD THROUGH ALL FOUR TABLES!
Holy Shit chants echo around the ring because of that big spot by John Morrison who put his body on the line to inflict pain on RVD. We see images of all three members of The ECW Originals down and out of it on the outside and The New Breed have the match in full control. However the crowd comes on its feet as SABU DESPITE HIS NECK INJURY COMES DOWN TO EVEN THE SCORE! Sabu realises all four members of the New Breed in the ring staring at him with no backup, but Sabu does not care as he brings a chair into the ring. The New Breed immediately start attacking Sabu, and Burke and Cor Von whip Sabu off the ropes but Sabu comes back with a double clothesline to them both! Sabu then grabs the steel chair and he starts to clean house on all four members of the New Breed, hitting all four of them with chair shots to the head. They all flee the ring and gang up together on the outside, but Sabu sets up the chair and hits a double springboard crossbody plancha onto all four of them on the outside! Sabu then brings Marcus Cor Von into the ring and connects with the Air Sabu to Cor Von in the corner before connecting with a Diving Arabian Face buster from the top rope! Moments later the rest of the New Breed members start to try and get back into the ring, but Burke and Morrison are taken off the ring apron with Dropkicks. But when Kevin Thorn gets into the ring Sabu does not get as lucky as Kevin Thorn takes his head off with a big boot. Kevin Thorn then sets up Sabu, and THROWS HIM FROM THE RING ALL THE WAY TO THE OUTSIDE WITH THE CRUCIFIX POWERBOMB!
Kevin Thorn brings an unconscious Sabu back into the ring and he goes for the cover but TOMMY DREAMER BREAKS THE COVER! Then the rest of the New Breed and a recovered CM Punk and Rob Van Dam get into the ring and another brawl ensues between both teams. The ECW Originals start to clean house with Tommy Dreamer tossing both John Morrison and Marcus Cor Von to the outside, as CM Punk connects with the Go To Sleep on Kevin Thorn. CM Punk and Tommy Dreamer then pull Elijah Burke to the corner of the ring and place a Trashcan on him and tell RVD to go up top. RVD goes to the opposite corner in which Elijah Burke is in and he climbs to the top rope. RVD springs up and down a little on the top rope BEFORE DIVING ALL THE WAY TO THE OPPOSITE CORNER CONNECTING WITH THE VAN TERMINATOR ON ELIJAH BURKE! CM Punk then pulls Burke to the centre of the ring and hooks the leg and gets the 1-2-3 ending a gruelling match!
Winners: The ECW Originals in 16:51
After the match CM Punk and Tommy Dreamer help up Rob Van Dam and then Sabu on the outside to their feet before all raising their arms in the air in celebration. They start off an ECW Chant, which is echoed around the Fedex Forum by the Memphis Crowd before making their way to the back slapping hands with fans as they do so. We then go backstage.
We then go backstage to see Todd Grisham standing by the WWE Champion Randy Orton. Todd calls what we just saw a massacre, before telling Randy Orton that tonight his Last Man Standing Match with John Cena could be a massacre. Randy Orton quickly interrupts saying that Todd is right, because tonight we are going to see one of the most brutal beatings in WWE History. Because tonight marks the death of John Cena’s legacy and career. He says that tonight he is going to finish off the job he started at Summerslam. He says that at Summerslam he took John Cena’s pride and his WWE Championship. He says that tonight he will take John Cena’s career and his right to stand. Because tonight Randy Orton will be the Last Man Standing and John Cena will never stand again after he gets kicked right in the face. Randy Orton then tells Cena to get a good luck at Orton’s face, because after he gets kicked John Cena will not see me or anyone else again. Randy Orton then smirks to himself as he just mocked John Cena’s catchphrase as we cut back to the ring.
“I’m Comin” hits and the United States and Tag Team Champion MVP makes his way down to the ring to some big heat from the crowd. MVP shows off both of his belts after he gets into the ring, before awaiting his tag team partner.
“Oh Yeah” hits and Matt Hardy comes down to the ring to a big pop from the crowd. Hardy as he makes his way down throws the Hardy guns in the air, before locking eyes with his tag team partner in the ring.
“Power of the Punch” hits and the UKConnection consisting of William Regal and Dave Taylor make their way to the ring looking very focused on winning the Tag Team Championships.
WWE Tag Team Championships
Matt Hardy and MVP © v The UKConnection
Unlike our other Tag Title Match, which consisted of some very fast paced exciting action between both teams. This time we get more of a technical contest with a lot of ground and pounding from both teams. The match starts off with the master technician William Regal with MVP, and they lock up and we see a lot of attempted submissions and reversals between the two. Surprisingly MVP is the one to get the better of William Regal in this little exchange after getting Regal into an armbar, before tagging in his team mate Matt Hardy. Matt Hardy tries to quicken the pace of the match as he hits Regal with a flying forearm smash followed by a crossbody dive off the top rope. But after a blow to the back of the head by Dave Taylor as Matt Hardy bounced off the ropes, William Regal took the momentum of the match with a Gutwrench suplex.
William Regal and Dave Taylor used some very effective double teaming tactics, doing quick tags to try and keep the fresh man in the ring at all times, and the illegal man from the two of them often got involved to stop Matt Hardy from reaching MVP and tagging him in. During this Taylor and Regal started to work over the leg of Matt Hardy, hoping that can lead to them getting an easy submission victory. Matt Hardy started a slight come back on William Regal, hitting him with a corner clothesline followed by a bulldog. Hardy then hit the Side effect before climbing to the middle rope to go for the Leg Drop, when Dave Taylor quickly distracted Hardy who took him off the apron with a hard right hand. But Hardy was distracted long enough for William Regal to get to his feet and hit an armdrag takedown off the middle rope. Things then looked very bad for Hardy as William Regal locked Hardy into a Boston Crab. Matt Hardy winced in pain and tried to crawl to the ropes, but Regal pulled him back to the centre of the ring. It looked as though Hardy wasn’t going to be able to reach the ropes and Hardy knew that, so he instead grabbed William Regal by the ankle and tripped him down onto the mat breaking the hold. Regal went to lock it back on but Hardy rolled him over, but Regal kicked out at two. They then got to their feet and Regal went for a clothesline but Hardy ducked and leaped for MVP and tagged him in. MVP came into the match like a house on fire, cleaning house on both Regal and Taylor. MVP hit Regal with a belly-to-belly suplex and made the cover but Taylor broke the count. MVP and Taylor then went at it and MVP went to whip Taylor off the ropes, but Taylor sent MVP crashing into his partner Matt Hardy, sending Hardy flying to the concrete floor on the outside. MVP then turned around into a clothesline by the tough Dave Taylor.
Taylor and Regal then started to double team on MVP pounding away at him against the ropes. They then whipped him off the ropes and caught him off them with a double Spinebuster and made the cover but Matt Hardy broke the count. Matt Hardy then lifted Taylor to his feet and connected with the Twist of Fate. Hardy got back to his corner as Regal went after MVP and went to whip him into Hardy’s corner but MVP countered it. MVP then ran up and connected with the Playas Boot. Hardy then tagged himself in, as MVP not realising that hits the Playmaker onto William Regal. MVP then goes to make the cover when MATT HARDY KICKS MVP IN THE MID SECTION AND CONNECTS WITH THE TWIST OF FATE! The crowd pops Hardy’s actions as Hardy lifts Regal to his feet and hits him with the Twist of Fate before making the cover to get the three count!
Winners: Still WWE Tag Team Champions Matt Hardy and MVP in 9:20
After the match Matt Hardy celebrates his teams victory as MVP is still down on the floor after that Twist of Fate. Matt Hardy then takes the Tag Team Championships off the referee and leaves the ring, TAKING HIS AND MVP’S TAG TEAM TITLE BELTS WITH HIM! MVP gets into the ring looking very angry after that Twist of Fate, and he shouts at Hardy to give him his belt. But Hardy continues to walk to the back ignoring MVP as we go backstage.
We go backstage to see Vince McMahon still in the car park, now talking with Jonathon Coachman waiting for his mystery son to arrive at the arena. We see Vince reading the latest issue of the WWE magazine, when a limo pulls up at the arena. A limo driver steps out and opens the passenger’s door, and out steps Ken Kennedy! Ken Kennedy walks up to Vince McMahon and they have a little intense stare down with neither man blinking. They then both smile at the same time, before Ken Kennedy walks off leaving a very happy Vince McMahon.

“Royalty” hits and King Booker makes his way down to the ring accompanied by Queen Sharmell to some big heat from the crowd. When he comes down to the ring we see clips from the last few weeks on Raw with King Booker making Triple H kiss his feet twice in separate weeks and then helping Ken Kennedy get a pinfall victory over him on Raw.
“Time to Play the Game” hits and Triple H comes out to a thunderous ovation from the crowd. He comes to the ring looking at King Booker very intensely before he does his normal pre match routine of spitting the water and going to each corner and saluting the crowd.
King Booker v Triple H
The match starts off with King Booker going right for Triple H with multiple hard right hands, but Triple H fights back pounding away King Booker into the corner. Triple H goes to whip Booker off the ropes, but Booker counters and as Hunter reaches the rope his leg is yanked from Sharmell on the outside. This distracts him long enough for Booker to clothesline him over the top rope to the outside. The two rivals fight it out on the outside with Triple H getting the better of Booker bouncing his head off the steel steps. But once again Sharmell gets involved distracting Triple H for long enough so that King Booker can take his head off with a leaping kick to the jaw. The early stages of the match saw King Booker take control of the match, working over the leg of Triple H, trying to reinjure his quadriceps that kept him out for much of this year. But as King Booker started to smash Triple H’s leg around the steel ring post from outside of the ring, Triple H used his leg strength to pull King Booker face first into the steel ring post.
King Booker however got into the ring and recovered first with Triple H’s leg still hurting and he bounced off the ropes only for Triple H to catch him with a Double A Spinebuster. He however made a big mistake as he went for the Pedigree too early in the match and Booker tripped Triple H up by the legs and locked on a Boston Crab. Triple H yelled in agony with King Booker pulling back at the legs some more applying more pressure onto Triple H. Triple H started to fade and Booker believed he had Triple H done right there, and because of this he loosened the hold as he believed Triple H was out of it. But however he wasn’t and Triple H powered his way out of it and King Booker let go of one of Triple H’s legs allowing Triple H to kick King Booker forcing him to break the hold. Triple H then turned on the pace, taking Booker inside out with a clothesline, before connecting with a Facebuster Knee Smash followed by a DDT. Triple H then for the second time in the match went for the Pedigree, but Booker span out of it and he connected with the Bookend! Booker hooked the leg but somehow Triple H kicked out at two!
The last moments of the match saw King Booker on numerous occasions nearly take the match. His closest of the lot came after a big mat breaking Spinebuster and he made the cover but Triple H kicked out just milliseconds before three. Triple H briefly started to fight back but King Booker ended that with a roundhouse kick to the side of Triple H’s face. But instead of continuing on the offence King Booker looks at his hand. King Booker then drops onto the mat and does the SPINAROONI! Everybody in the arena looks shocked at King Booker going back to his Booker T days briefly for a second including Sharmell. King Booker then lifts Triple H to his feet and kicks him in the mid section before bouncing off the ropes, he goes for the Scissors Kick….But Misses! Booker then turns around into Triple H who kicks him in the mid section and connects with the Pedigree! Triple H hooks the leg and picks up the three count to pick up the victory!
Winner: Triple H in 10:12
After the match Triple H celebrates his big victory tonight, saluting the crowd at each corner. Meanwhile Queen Sharmell checks up on King Booker and starts helping him to his feet. Triple H realises this and he looks at King Booker and shrugs his shoulders before kicking him in the mid section and connecting with a Second Pedigree! Triple H then does the Suck it Signal to Booker T and he walks out of the ring knowing he has got revenge on King Booker.
We then go backstage to see Kristal Marshall standing by the World Heavyweight Champion Edge. Kristal asks Edge how he feels about the fact that he doesn’t even need to be pinned to lose his title tonight. Edge says that he has already made it clear that he doesn’t like this match, he says that Teddy Long is trying to rob him off his World Heavyweight Championship. But he says that there is a reason why he is the World Heavyweight Champion, and that is that he is because he is the best damn wrestler on the entire planet. He then says he is going to prove that tonight by beating two of the best superstars Smackdown has to offer along with Rey Mysterio. And says that he will walk out of the FedEx Forum still the World Heavyweight Champion.
WWE 24/7 Commercial
We then go to another area backstage where we see King Booker and Sharmell arriving backstage, and King Booker is absolutely livid at his loss just. He comes out of his King Booker character shouting out “tell me that just didn’t happen! Sharmell tells Booker to calm down, to which Booker replies by shouting how the hell can I calm down. King Booker suddenly stops shouting there as Vince McMahon walks into the scene. Vince gives Booker a look of disgust, to which Booker quickly replies that he got robbed out there tonight. Vince tells Booker he let him down and he says he was supposed to finish Triple H tonight, to which Booker says give me one more match. Vince accepts King Booker’s plea by saying that tomorrow night on Raw it will be King Booker versus Triple H in a Steel Cage Match. King Booker thanks Vince and tells him that he won’t let him down. Vince tells Booker he better not or he will be FIRED! Vince then walks off, while King Booker cannot believe it as he knows his job will be on the line tomorrow night in a Steel Cage Match.
“Somebody’s going to get their ass kicked” hits and Mark Henry makes his way to the ring looking very focused on the match in head. He gets into the ring and he awaits The Undertaker.
Instead of The Undertaker’s music hitting, we get the music hitting that signifies the entrance of the Undertaker’s druids who bring down a Casket to the ring. This starts to anger Mark Henry who shouts at them to take the Casket Away. They however leave the casket by the ring and then make their way backstage.
“Graveyard Symphony” hits and The Undertaker comes out to the biggest pop of the night. The Undertaker makes his traditional slow entrance to the ring, as we can now see a bit of nerves appear on Mark Henry’s face. The Undertaker gets into the ring and takes off his hat and flickers his eyes into the back of his head, before locking eyes with Mark Henry.
Mark Henry v The Undertaker
Somewhat surprisingly it is Mark Henry who starts out the aggressor, coming at Undertaker with a fury of hard right hands followed by some shoulder thrusts in the corner. He then whips Taker off the ropes, who comes back off the ropes with a flying clothesline. The fight goes to the outside for a while with Undertaker attempting to Choke slam Mark Henry on the concrete floor, only for Henry to block it and ram Undertaker spine first into the steel ring post. Mark Henry then proceeded to start to work on the back of the Phenom, coming close to victory with a Big Splash to Undertaker on his back only for Undertaker to kick out at two.
Mark Henry continued to work on the back of The Undertaker and he impressively gets Taker up into a torture rack. Undertaker seemed to be fading away and the referee lifted his arm up twice and it dropped it twice and he lifted it up a third time but Mark Henry dropped Taker believing the referee had dropped the arm a third time but he had let go of Taker too early! Undertaker then sat up to the shock of Mark Henry and this where the Dead man fought back tripping Henry face first on the top turnbuckle then bouncing off the ropes and hitting a big boot to the Silverback. Undertaker then hit Old School and signalled for the end of Henry and he went for a Chokeslam, but Henry blocked It by kicking him in the crown jewels and then hit the WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM ON UNDERTAKER! He then went for the cover 1………….2…………UNDERTAKER KICKS OUT!
Mark Henry couldn’t believe it and started arguing with the referee when Undertaker sat up. Henry saw this however and started to pound away at Taker into the corner, stepping up onto the middle rope and mounting away at him with some hard lefts and rights. But however The Undertaker grabbed hold of Henry by the tights and DELIVERED THE LAST RIDE! Undertaker then lifts his arm in the air and starts wiggerling his fingers signalling for the Chokeslam as Henry gets to his feet. Undertaker grabs Henry by the throat and lifts the 400+ pound man of the mat HITTING A CHOKESLAM ONTO MARK HENRY! Undertaker then hooks Henry’s arm on his chest and rolls his eyes sticking out his tongue as the referee counts the 1…………..2…………3!
Winner:The Undertaker in 7:32
After the match The Undertaker gets to his feet and looks down at Mark Henry who is down and out of it. The Undertaker drops to his knee doing his Phenom pose to the crowd. We see the druids come back down to the ring and The Undertaker goes over to the Casket that was brought down to the ring and he opens the lid. The Undertaker then gets back into the ring and he rolls Mark Henry into the casket and shuts the lid. The druids then take the casket backstage as The Undertaker also makes his way backstage. He makes his way to the top of the ramp and raises his arm up in the air to the sound of a lighting bolt when from out of the backstage area comes BATISTA WHO SPEARS THE UNDERTAKER! The crowd cannot believe it as Batista lifts The Undertaker up to his feet and connects with the BATISTA BOMB TO UNDERTAKER ON THE STEEL RAMP! Batista then crouches over the Undertaker and tells him that he wants a match, before making his way to the back. A few moments later The Undertaker sits up as we go to a PPV commercial.
WWE No Mercy Commercial
When we get back from the commercial we see replays of what just happened before we go backstage to see Josh Matthews who is running down the backstage area hoping to get hold of Batista. We see Batista arrive to the backstage area and Josh Matthews catches up with him. Josh asks Batista what him attack The Undertaker. Batista tells Josh that earlier this year, him and The Undertaker were tearing each other apart every week. The Undertaker beat him at Wrestlemania, but he has not beaten The Undertaker. He says that now he has returned back from injury there is a score to settle and he wants to prove to the world that not only is he not scared of The Undertaker, but also he can beat The Undertaker. Batista says that attack just was to get The Undertaker’s notice, because in four weeks time is the next WWE PPV No Mercy. And he wants to use this time to challenge The Undertaker to a match at No Mercy. Batista then looks down into the camera intensely before walking off.
“My name is Finlay and I love to fight” hits and Finlay makes his way down to the ring to some big heat from the crowd. He comes down looking as focus as ever, knowing that at the end of this upcoming match he could be the new World Heavyweight Champion.
“Slow Chemical” hits and Kane comes out to a big pop from the crowd. Kane steadily makes his way down to the ring, stepping over the top rope and setting off his pyro before locking eyes with Finlay.
“Booyaka 619” hits and Rey Mysterio makes his way down to the ring to a huge pop from the crowd. He pops from out of the ground before making his way down to the ring slapping hands with fans at ringside. But however Kane rushes to the outside and attacks Rey Mysterio, obviously angry for the 619 Rey Mysterio delivered to him on Smackdown. The two of them go at it with then Finlay joining the three man brawl.
“Metalingus” hits and the World Heavyweight Champion Edge comes out to the biggest heat of the night so far. Edge comes through the smoke, and he very smartly takes his time to the ring seeing as his three opponents are already going at it.
Fatal Four Way for the World Heavyweight Title
Edge © v Finlay v Kane v Rey Mysterio
Like most Fatal Four ways, we get a very exciting fast paced match with a lot of near falls shared between the four men, with the start of it being as you would expect being a complete clusterfuck. After a big brawl between the three challengers in the match, which sees Kane take down Finlay and Rey Mysterio with big boots, Kane and Edge go at it with a fresh Edge looking to take advantage. Edge takes down Kane with a spinning wheel kick before sizing up Kane for the early Spear! Edge charges up at Kane, only for Kane to take him out with a big boot. Kane then turns around to see Rey Mysterio spring boarding off the ropes connecting with a Springboard Hurricarana. Then in the ring Rey Mysterio goes at it with Finlay as Kane and Edge continue their brawl on the outside. As Kane and Edge exchange hard right hands, Finlay pounds away at Mysterio against the ropes before bouncing off the other side of the ropes. Finlay comes back off them but Mysterio catches him with a backdrop over the top rope with Finlay landing ontop of both Edge and Kane on the outside! Mysterio then climbs to the top rope and waits for all three of his opponents to get to their feet. They all get up grouping together and Mysterio comes off the top rope with a Moonsault onto all three of his standing opponents!
Then in the ring we get a minute of Edge and Rey Mysterio going at it with Mysterio wanting revenge for his loss at Summerslam. We get some quick paced back and forth wrestling between the two of them with Mysterio nearly taking the victory after a Wheel barrow roll up only for Kane to break the count. Kane then starts to clean house on both Edge and Rey Mysterio hitting them with clotheslines, side slams and even dropkicks. Kane then climbs onto the top rope and takes both off them down with a diving double clothesline. Kane then goes to make the cover when Finlay gets in the ring and breaks the count. Finlay tosses Kane and Edge outside of the ring before starting to work on the leg of Rey Mysterio. Finlay looks to end the match when he locks on a one legged Boston Crab onto Rey Mysterio. Somehow however Rey Mysterio reaches the ropes making Finlay break the hold. Mysterio then starts to fight back against Finlay and he sets him up for the 619, but Finlay moves out of the way and Mysterio lands on the ring apron, but from the outside Edge pulls Mysterio face first onto the ring apron.
For the next couple of minutes it is just Edge and Finlay in the ring, as every time Mysterio or Kane looks to get in the ring, either Finlay or Edge takes them back to the outside. With Finlay and Edge in the ring the match pace slows for a little whiles as they wrestle a more technical ground and pound style. But however things quicken up between the two eventually as Finlay sets Edge up for the Celtic Cross, but Edge slides off his shoulders and we have a good little sequence between the two leading to Edge connecting with the Edgecution. Edge makes the cover but Kane breaks the count. Kane then starts to dominate once again as he hits a Chokeslam onto both Edge and a recovered Rey Mysterio. But when Kane goes for the Chokeslam on Finlay, Hornswoggle gets into the ring and he starts distracting Kane. Hornswoggle then floods the ring as Kane goes to attack him, and with the referee’s attention on Hornswoggle this allows FINLAY TO HIT KANE OVER THE BACK OF THE LEG WITH THE SHILLELAGH! Finlay then makes the cover but Kane kicks out at two!
Finlay and Edge then start teaming together to take Kane out of the match, as they realise Kane is a big danger to their chances of winning. It looks as though their tactics will play out successful as they connect with a DOUBLE SUPLEX TO KANE THROUGH THE SMACKDOWN ANNOUNCE TABLE! Holy shit chants echo around the arena as Edge and Finlay then decide to do the same thing to Rey Mysterio, realising if they take him out it will be down to just the two of them. But however on this occasion it doesn’t quite work out for the two of them as Rey Mysterio counters a double suplex into a double DDT onto the both of them. Mysterio then starts use his speed to his advantage, cleaning house on both Finlay and Edge. Mysterio comes so close to regaining the title after a Frog Splash onto Finlay but Edge saves his title by breaking the count. But however Mysterio then comes close to beating Edge as he trips him onto the bottom rope and connects with the 619, followed by the Springboard Hurricarana but this time Finlay breaks the count!
Then after some back and forth wrestling between Finlay and Rey Mysterio, Rey Mysterio trips Finlay onto the bottom rope and connects with a second 619! Mysterio goes for the Springboard Hurricarana, but Finlay moves out of the way and then connects with the CELTIC CROSS! Finlay makes the cover and would of picked up the three only for Edge to break the cover! Finlay and Edge then go at it with Finlay going for a second Celtic Cross, but Edge slides off and bounces off the ropes connecting with the SPEAR! Edge hooks the leg 1………..2………..SOMEHOW KANE GETS IN THE RING AND BREAKS THE COUNT!
After some back and forth wrestling between Edge and Kane, Edge connects with the Edgematic on Kane. Edge then goes to the corner and sizes up Kane for another Spear, he runs up but the Kane moves and Edge spears the referee! Kane then turns psychotic taking Edge down with a clothesline before going to the outside of the ring and picking up a Steel Chair. Kane brings the chair into the ring with him and HE SMASHES THE STEEL CHAIR OVER EDGE’S SKULL! Kane then lifts Edge back to his feet and he twists him upside down and connects with a Tombstone Piledriver! Kane then goes to make the cover when FINLAY CLOCKS KANE OVER THE BACK OF THE LEG AGAIN WITH THE SHILLELAGH! This only knocks Kane to his knees, but Finlay Kane then gets to his feet and Finlay clocks the Shillelagh over the skull of Kane! Finlay then repeatedly drives the Shillelagh into the chest of Kane relentlessly before making the cover but there is no referee. Finlay goes to wake up the referee, and as the referee gets to his feet, Finlay turns around into Rey Mysterio to see Mysterio connecting with the Droppin the Dime on Kane! Finlay and Mysterio then go at it, which leads to Finlay taking Mysterio and himself to the outside with a clothesline. Meanwhile in the ring EDGE TAKES ADVANTAGE AS HE CRAWLS ONTOP OF KANE PUTTING HIS ARM OVER HIS CHEST 1……..2……3! EDGE STEALS IT!
Winner: Still World Heavyweight Champion Edge in 17:19
The crowd boos massively as Edge has somehow retained the title despite looking like he doesn’t know where he is. The referee helps Edge to his feet and raises his arm in the air and passes the World Heavyweight Championship to the hands of Edge. Meanwhile on the outside Rey Mysterio looks on from the outside dumfounded. We see Finlay losing his temper on the outside and see Kane sitting up in the ring in pain, but still snarling at what just happened. Edge is helped to the back by the referee as we go over to JR and King.
JR and King talk about the last match before hyping the main event before showing us a video of how Cena and Orton came together.
Last Man Standing-John Cena v Randy Orton video package
“My Time is Now” hits and John Cena makes his way down to the ring to a huge reaction, scattered around with a few boos as always. John Cena is about to get in the ring, when he suddenly shakes his heads and he gets back off the ring apron and he stands just in front of the ring awaiting his opponent.
“Burn inside my light” hits and Randy Orton comes out to the biggest heat of the night. He does his destiny pose at the top of the ramp, before noticing a charging John Cena who spears Randy Orton down to the ground at the top of the ramp and he starts pounding away at him as the referee calls for the bell, to signal the start of the match.
Last Man Standing for WWE Championship
John Cena v Randy Orton ©
If you want to see an all put brawl, look no further than here as Randy Orton and John Cena put on most probably the most brutal match of the WWE 2007 year, and putting on a Match of the Year Contender. Straight from the get go, things get ugly with John Cena beating away at Randy Orton and tossing him head first into the Unforgiven stage. The two fight down below the stage, and Randy Orton finally gets some offence in the match as he pushes a hanging camera right into the face of John Cena, before grabbing the Camera and knocking his head off with it. But however it doesn’t last long as Cena catches a charging Orton with a flapjack throat first over the steel railing. Randy Orton then flees over the barricade and he starts to attempt to get away from John Cena through the crowd. John Cena immediately follows pursuit chasing Randy Orton through the Memphis crowd. Cena starts catching up with Orton who realises this, and he quickly pushes a fan off his chair and grabs the chair before smashing it over the skull of John Cena. Randy Orton then continues to lead John Cena through the head down to the ringside area tossing him over the barricade.
The next few minutes of action sees the match go into the ring, and we see some in ring work between the two without any weapons. Randy Orton hits numerous of his signature moves and every time he hits them he asks the referee to count wanting to get this match finished as quick as he can. After John Cena gets to his feet at seven from an Inverted Headlock Backbreaker. Randy Orton loses his composure and he goes to finish the match off early with the RKO, but Cena pushes Orton off the ropes and pulls out a steel chain from his tights and he clocks Randy Orton over the side of the face with the steel chain! Cena then starts choking out Orton by wrapping his chain around Randy Orton’s throat and he starts pulling away at the chain choking him out with the chain. The referee saves Orton by pulling a relentless Cena off Orton, and he gives Cena a speaking to, but this distracts Cena who turns around into Randy Orton who connects with a low blow to the challenger. Randy Orton then starts to work over the head off the challenger after he nearly knocks Cena’s head off silly with a vicious clothesline. Randy Orton connects with the middle rope DDT and he then sets Cena up for the punt to the head. He runs up but Cena trips him up and goes to lock on the STF-U, but Orton smartly scurries out of the ring.
The match is then taken to the outside for a few minutes as both men start to use the outside environment and weapons to inflict pain onto one another. John Cena catches up with Orton and takes his head off with a clothesline before lifting him up to his feet and tossing him shoulder first into the steel steps. John Cena then starts to take the equipment off the Raw Announce Table tossing off the monitors and headsets behind him. But Randy Orton recovers to his feet and lifts up one of the monitors and waits for Cena to turn around, before CLOCKING CENA OVER THE HEAD WITH THE MONITOR BUSTING HIM WIDE OPEN! Randy Orton then goes over to the timekeepers table and he picks up a small little bag. Randy Orton then puts his hand in there and PULLS OUT SOME HANDCUFFS! Randy Orton sets one of the handcuffs around John Cena’s hand before pulling him over to the ring apron and putting the other handcuff on the bottom rope. Orton then looks at a defenceless bloody Cena with a Psychotic Smirk on his face. Orton then grabs a steel chair and he approaches Cena who now notices the predicament he is in and he throws some kicks at Randy Orton which all miss. But Randy Orton then drives the chair into the ribs of John Cena BEFORE HITTING A THUNDEROUS CHAIR SHOT TO THE SPINE OF JOHN CENA! Cena falls down to his knees, and Orton with the chair still in hand waits for Cena to get to his feet. Cena slowly gets to his feet, and RANDY ORTON HITS A GOD ALMIGHT THUNDEROUS CHAIR SHOT TO THE FACE OF JOHN CENA KNOCKING HIM DOWN AND OUT!
Randy Orton then tosses the chair aside and tells the referee to count as we notice that John Cena broke the handcuffs as he fell down from that Chair Shot. Somehow John Cena starts to make some movement when the referee reaches the count of six. Cena then starts to get to his feet at the count of eight but it looks like it is too late. The referee counts to nine and….CENA JUST GETS TO HIS FEET! Cena even though he reaches his feet falls straight back down having used all of his energy just to get up. A furious Randy Orton then goes over to the Steel Steps and he picks up the steps and sets them up just to the side of John Cena. Randy Orton then grabs John Cena by the head and it looks like he is going to RKO John Cena onto the steel steps, but out of nowhere John Cena lifts Randy Orton onto his shoulders and connects with an F-U TO ORTON ON THE STEEL STEPS! Both men are down but this is the time when John Cena can get back into the match. Both men get up to their feet at the count of 7 and John Cena goes over to the timekeepers table and picks up the ring bell. Cena then charges up at Randy Orton and CLOCKS THE RINGBELL OVER THE HEAD OF RANDY ORTON BUSTING HIM OPEN!
John Cena tells the referee to count and he starts to do so, but a bloody Randy Orton reaches his feet at the count of 8. John Cena then brings Randy Orton into the ring and Cena starts to go through his move set hitting the Spin out Powerbomb followed by the Five Knuckle Shuffle! John Cena then turns Orton onto his chest and it looks like he is going to go for the STF-U when he suddenly shakes his head and rolls to the outside of the ring. John Cena looks under the ring and pulls out some rope. Cena tosses the rope into the ring and then gets into it himself. John Cena then looks to end this Last Man Standing Match the same way he against Umaga at the Royal Rumble, as he locks on the STF-U WITH THE ROPE AROUND RANDY ORTON’S THROAT! A bloody Randy Orton appears to be fading away and it looks like John Cena has got this match won WHEN A MAN SMASHES A STEEL CHAIR OVER THE SPINE OF JOHN CENA? IT’S VINCE MCMAHON! The crowd gives huge heat to Vince McMahon for hitting John Cena with the chair, and he tries to help Randy Orton to his feet as the referee starts to count to ten. But John Cena reaches his feet first and he sees Vince McMahon trying to help Randy Orton, and John Cena with blood all over his face looks at Vince with anger in his eyes. Vince sees this and he scurries out of the ring and Cena chases him. Cena chases Vince around the ring, and Vince leads Cena into the ring and straight into Randy Orton who connects with the RKO ON JOHN CENA! Randy Orton gets to his feet and Vince tells the referee to start counting and Vince goes to the outside and grabs the WWE Title and brings it into the ring and gives it to Randy Orton, believing that this match is over here. But at the count of seven John Cena starts to make some movement. Vince and Orton look on in shock as Cena gets to his feet JUST before the count of ten. A pissed off Randy Orton then takes John Cena to the outside with a clothesline over the top rope.
Randy Orton goes to the outside and he rolls John Cena onto the empty Raw Announce Table. Randy Orton then starts to look under the ring and he PULLS OUT A LADDER? Vince asks Randy Orton what the hell he is doing, but Randy Orton ignores him and he has obviously lost it. He sets up the ladder between the Broken Smackdown Table and the Raw Table which has a beaten down John Cena on it. Randy Orton then starts to climb the ladder, but he wastes some time at the top as he starts to look uncomfortable up there with nobody knowing what the hell is going through that man’s mind. But then suddenly John Cena rushes to his feet and he starts to climb the nearest side of the ladder! The two men exchange hard right hands at the top with Orton getting the better of Cena and he goes to RKO him off the ladder through the table, but Cena blocks that attempt by elbowing him in the face. JOHN CENA THEN LIFTS RANDY ORTON ONTO HIS SHOULDERS AND CONNECTS WITH AN F-U OFF THE TOP OF THE LADDER THROUGH THE RAW ANNOUNCE TABLE! Holy Shit chants are echoed around the arena, as John Cena slowly makes his way down the ladder, with Vince McMahon looking on in shock. The referee starts counting to ten as John Cena once again looks at Vince McMahon. John Cena starts chasing Vince McMahon into the ring and Vince goes to attack Cena who lifts Vince onto his shoulders setting him up for the F-U, when out of nowhere KEN KENNEDY SMASHES A STEEL CHAIR AGAINST THE BACK OF KEN KENNEDY! KENNEDY THEN SMASHES THE CHAIR ACROSS THE SKULL OF KEN KENNEDY KNOCKING JOHN CENA OUT!
Ken Kennedy then grabs the rope that John Cena used earlier in the match AND HE TIES JOHN CENA’S FEET TO THE BOTTOM ROPE MEANING HE CAN’T GET TO HIS FEET! They then realise the referee is at the count of 8 with Randy Orton, so Ken Kennedy flees the ring and he pulls up Randy Orton to feet JUST before the count of ten! Ken Kennedy then points to the ring and the referee starts reluctantly counting to ten, as the referee feels sorry for Cena who is tied to the bottom rope. John Cena starts to make some movement at the count of seven, but Cena realises both of his feet are tied to the Bottom Rope. John Cena starts to untie the rope as quick as he can, but he fails to do so and THE REFEREE COUNTS TEN, AND RANDY ORTON IS STILL THE WWE CHAMPION SOMEHOW!
Winner: Still WWE Champion Randy Orton in 25:52
After the match huge heat is given as Randy Orton who rolls into the ring and fails to get himself to his feet as he is too hurt from this gruelling match he has just went through. Vince McMahon helps Randy Orton to his feet and hands him the WWE Title and he raises both Ken Kennedy and Randy Orton’s arm in the air. Randy Orton falls straight back down to the mat however and Vince McMahon calls for a stretcher to be brought down to the ring to take Randy Orton away. Meanwhile John Cena has untied himself from the bottom rope and he goes straight for Ken Kennedy clubbing away at him, but from behind Vince McMahon connects with a Low Blow. Ken Kennedy then connects with a standing Green Bay Plunge onto John Cena. Vince McMahon and Ken Kennedy then looks towards another, and they smile and they HUG! Vince McMahon then grabs a mic off Lillian Garcia as EMTS take Randy Orton backstage on a Stretcher. SUDDENLY A PYRO SHOOTS OFF AT THE TOP OF THE RAMP AND THE ARENA GOES DARK!
Suddenly a Countdown appears on the Titantron
“BREAK THE WALLS DOWN!!!!”
The crowd stands on it’s feet and gives an absolutely unbelievable pop as a very familiar theme music plays, and we can see a man at the top of the ramp with his back to the crowd with both arms spread out wide. He then spins around to reveal CHRIS JERICHO! JR and King go ballistic at ringside as Chris Jericho looks down in the ring and smiles, before charging into the ring. Ken Kennedy who is in shock meets Chris Jericho with a hard right hand and the two men start to go at it exchanging hard right hands. Ken Kennedy gets the better of Chris Jericho and whips him off the ropes, but Jericho comes back off the ropes with a Flying Forearm Smash. Jericho then hits a running Bulldog and the Liansault as Vince McMahon who had fled the ring looks on at Jericho with disgust. Chris Jericho then looks at Vince McMahon before grabbing Ken Kennedy by the legs and LOCKS ON THE WALLS OF JERICHO! Ken Kennedy immediately starts tapping out and Jericho lets go of the hold and grabs a mic! Jericho chants start echoing the ring as Vince McMahon looks on eager at what Jericho has to say. Jericho starts off by saying “WELCOME TO MEMPHIS IS JERICHO!” The crowd gives another huge pop to Jericho who puts the mic back to his mouth and says “And Vinnie I have three words for you and they are…..
JERICHO IS MCMAHON!!!!!!!
The crowd go ballistic, as Chris Jericho has revealed that he is the Bastard Son of Vince McMahon. Chris Jericho gives Vince a smirk, as Vince McMahon’s jaw drops and he looks like he is about to cry. Unforgiven then comes to a close with Chris Jericho posing to the crowd at each turnbuckle to his theme music.
