Great American Bash Recap
Goldberg vs Ken Kennedy
Goldberg dominated the early stages against the youngster who had a surprising amount of fan support from certain sectors of the crowd. Goldberg had a piece of misfortune, missing an early Spear attempt, and crashed into the turnbuckle, allowing Kennedy to temporarily work on the shoulder of Goldberg and try to keep the powerhouse grounded. However, soon after Kennedy began to look in control, Goldberg powered back with a usual power move assault. Goldberg had Kennedy set for the Jackhammer, but his shoulder gave way, and Kennedy used this to roll up Goldberg, and got his feet all over the ropes for a shock win to kick off the PPV. Gooldberg was livid with the referee, explaining that Kennedy has his feet on the ropes. The ref waved off Goldberg, who snapped and SPEARED THE REF! The crowd was confused as Goldberg huffed and puffed backstage, in a sour mood
WWE Tag Team Titles
Hardy Boyz vs MNM
In a brilliant, captivating TLC to rival some of the best, both teams put it all on the line in a 20 minute MOTN contender. Melina used her assets early on to distract the Hardyz, before she was taken out by a Swanton Bomb from Jeff Hardy, who drove Melina along with Nitro through a table after leaping off a 15 foot ladder! After this, all four men put their bodies on the line with some more crazy stunts involving the ladders, some chairs and a few more tables. The ending came with Matt & Merucry duking it out atop the ladder, but Nitro tipped the ladder and both men crashed to the outside onto Jeff Hardy, Nitro then climbed the ladder to retain the titles
Lashley vs Randy Orton
In a fair match, Randy Orton managed to get the victory over Bobby Lashley after the Real Deal kicked out of an RKO. Orton was shocked, as Lashley's power became too much for the 240 pounder, and as Lashley had Orton set up for the Dominator, Orton poked Lashley to the eye, then dropped to his feet and planted Lashley with another RKO to get the win
US Title Match
Hassan vs Rey Mysterio
In one of the night's better matches, Rey gave it his all for the US title, he was able to contend with Hassan aswell as the cheap tactics of Davairi on the outside. Rey nailed a 619 and went for the West Coast Pop, but Davairi "accidentally" tugged on the ropes, causing Rey to fall down to the floor, seriously injuring his left quadricept. Davairi was ejected from ringside, but it didn't matter, as Hassan locked on a modified Texas Cloverleaf to Rey who tapped immediately. Later on it was discovered Rey will be out for atleast 6 months with severe damage to his left quad
Batista vs Brock Lesnar
In a sluggish brawl which got it's fair share of "boring" chants, Batista picked up the win over Lesnar with a Spinebuster off the middle rope, as Lesnar went for a Superplex, Batista held on, then caught Lesnar, hoisted him up and slammed him off the middle turnbuckle with a Spinebuster and covered him for the win
Undertaker vs Booker T
Undertaker dominated the early stages, countering and outdoing anything Booker tried on him. Booker had to result to a low blow to gain control, Booker then introduced the stairs and a chair to the match, only to have Taker boot the chair back in the face of Booker. Just as Taker hit the Chokeslam to Booker, Regal & Finlay ran to the ring, as Booker's hired help attacked Undertaker, with Finlay using the Sheleleigh. Undertaker managed to fight them off, only to be met with an Axe Kick by Booker. Booker rolled into the Casket, but Taker stopped the lid from shutting to a huge pop, and fought out, planting Booker to the outside, then hitting the Tombstone to Finlay and the Last Ride to Regal. Just when Undertaker looked like he had the match won, he dropped Booker into the Casket, when a figure jumped the barricade and yelled to Taker, who turned around into a SPEAR FROM GOLDBERG! The crowd booed as Goldberg's sick grin appeared across his face, he then Jackhammered Undertaker into the Casket and helped Booker T out, Booker shut the lid to win the match!
The crowd booed Goldberg, who pulled a sledgehammer from under the ring and went wild, smashing the casket with it repeatedly. Goldberg then wheeled the casket backstage and loaded it into a herse. Goldberg then hopped into a rig across the parking lot, and revved up the engine before driving the rig into the hearse, sending it flying into the wall and squashing it up against the brick wall. Goldberg hopped out laughing menincingly, while medics rushed to the crash site, with the rubble piled up and the crowd silent in the background
End Of An Era Match
Hulk Hogan w/Jimmy Hart vs Kevin Nash w/Theodore Long
The match wasn't the greatest with two older superstars duking it, the crowd was hot for Hogan the whole match. It didn't last too long, Nash used his power to control the most part before Hogan fied up with the regular routine comeback, and nailed not 1, not 2, but 3 leg drops to Kevin Nash before covering for the win, ending Teddy Long's spell as SD! GM and Kevin Nash's WWE career
In a powerful post match speech, Jimmy Hart & Hulk Hogan fairwelled the crowd, with Hogan saying he will no longer wrestle, saying that he's had enough for now and wants to hang up the boots, partially. Hulkster said one day, he may be back
World Heavyweight Championship
Triple Threat Match
Two Falls for a Victor
Kurt Angle vs Y2J vs Benoit
In a top quality match where all 3 men showcased their tremendous talents, Chris Jericho scored an early shock fall with a roll up on Benoit. It wasn't long after this that Benoit made Angle tap out to the Crossface.
Angle was already against it with barely 10 minutes passed on the clock. This next part of the match was just all 3 men going at it, lots of near falls, but no one could pick up the decisive fall, Jericho or Benoit needed one, Angle needed two. Jericho slapped the Walls of Jericho on Benoit, and just as Benoit looked like he would give in and tap, Angle pulled Jericho out of the hold and planted him with an Angle Slam, and covered for the 1-2-3! It was one fall a piece now.
Angle immediately went for the fall on Benoit, but Benoit just kicked out. Angle then tried to put the Ankle Lock on Benoit, but the Rabid Wolverine fought out and planted Angle with a German suplex trifecta.
Jericho saw his opportunity and put the Walls back on Benoit, who was in seering pain. Benoit reached down and grabbed Jericho for a roll up, but as the ref made the count for the 3, Benoit tapped out, still being locked in the Walls.
After a few minutes of arguements between the 3, the ref announced the match to be null and void, therefore, Kurt Angle was still the WHC!
Jericho & Benoit were furious as Angle celebrated as we went off the air
