Well, I will drop a review in later, but looking at your mania card. It is off the charts. Cena/Taker is what I was going to do in my BTB, but I swapped for Taker/Edge. CD vs. Mysterio looks bound to be amazing. Kennedy is the main event which is awesome and the Triple Threat looks great too. Rock/HHH and Austin/Angle will be show stealers. There is at least 5 potential 5***** matches.

Re: WWE 2007 & Beyond by DDMac

Great way to open the show with Batista and Kennedy. Batista actually was very good on the mic without Flair. Kennedy comes down and says what he has to say about Batista. I like how you have Kennedy with the attitude, of put up or shut up, as it works. The brawl was done great, as neither man looked weak in the brawl.

Good match to begin the show with as the Hardys are going to Mania. Though Helms now won't be at Mania, which is a bit of a shame, as I thought that this would be the time for Helms to have a huge match at Mania, to help him get into a higher feud on Smackdown.

Daniels' promo was on point and was well written. I like how the feud has gone so far with the two, and it looks like Daniels will be carrying the feud in terms of mic work.

Mysterio winning was expected, to keep the momentum going in his favor.

King Booker's segment was funny and well written. I wonder if King Booker is going to face Regal at Mania for the US Championship should he not win the battle royal.

Surprised to see The Rock's promo so early on the show, as I thought that would close the show. However I must say, unless another booker is able to write up a better promo than this, you got my vote for Promo Writer of the month. This promo felt realistic and it got the point across perfectly. The buildup for this match is simple, and I have a feeling that their match at Mania, will be nothing short of a classic.

Good promo from Londrick and Helms/Benjamin. A title match next week is great! I have a feeling that this is a feud that can be great if booked correctly, as this is a feud that is very original.

Kane and Henry winning the match was expected as it got over its point of showing the power of the team.

Short but simple Chavo promo, and it looks like that will be one of the final times that Chavo will be used in this thread, since he is now retired in this thread.

Great promo from Cena. It is great how Cena is being built in this feud against Taker. Cena beating Scotty in a squash match, is good, even though it is the second consecutive one of the show. Cena/Taker could be a showstealer match at Mania.

Flair wins the match! I hope King Booker still gets a match or some segment at Mania. Batista was great as a heel in this segment, and it looks like the Mania card is finally set, and it is a great card.

Overall Comments: Great show man, as so far Smackdown has been better than Raw in the quality heading into Mania. Looking forward to the final couple of Raw and Smackdown shows.

Smackdown Feedback:

Been a while since I've read your thread but I'm back and going to try and catch up. Good promo to kick the night off with and Batista was good for most of it but times it kinda showed through of how bad he really is on the mic. Kennedy did a good job thought to be honest. The brawl really did help the promo too. I also like the idea of the roles being reversed, seeing Kennedy as the face and Batista the heel.

No real surprise to see the Hardy's take the match as they are the bigger two of the names and I couldn't see them being left off of WrestleMania. Though this would have been a kick ass opener, that is for sure. The team of Benjamin/Helms is very creative on your part, as I personally like both of them. Side note, I know but still.

I've seen very little of Daniels as I don't watch TNA as much as I used to but from what I read in this, he did sound right. It's kinda reminding me of the Hardy/Mysterio WM 19 feud in a way. Daniels has been built well but I think his ultimate downfall is going to be at Mania.

Well about Rey, we get another good match again tonight. No surprise to see Rey win of course and the match got a decent amount of time. Not much more you can say about it really tbh.

WTF? Why did Regal attack Booker? Haha. Wait, I think you used to have the Court in here, if so that does make sense. I loved this promo despite it being short. It's like Booker's character before he left in which he'd play the king role and then suddenly switch to his former street persona. Great.

I liked the promo for the most part but one thing I wasn't really fond of was all the swearing. I know you moved Smackdown to another station but still, it was just a bit too much swearing for one promo. Other than that, I liked it. I really couldn't find anything else to point out to you that was wrong with it really.

Normally, I wouldn't like promos with all four of these men as they are generic as can be on the mic but this one was good. This feud certainly has been going on for a while as was mentioned in the promo and I was thinking an impending match for WM was going to happen but I think you might just keep the match card down at 10 for now, considering they have a match next week anywyas.

Quick little match to showcase the monster's. Nothing really much else can be said about it.

I liked Chavo's promo as it was just like any other sit down interview. Most of the sit down interviews are easy to write because they talk like they would in normal real life instead of most of the time in character. That's why Chavo's promo was so good because you could see that he was sad he had to retire but still, was rooting for Rey. At least, I could see it that way. My only complaint was the length as I felt a few more questions could have been thrown in, if only one.

Cena's promo was good too and I see you're having his rap gimmick in here too. A bunch of people used to use it and I'll use it every now and then but rare anybody still does that I see. I liked the idea of Cena's aftermatch tactics, trying his best to get inside the head of 'Taker. The gun idea was pretty creative too on your part.

Short promo once again. I've liked your promos for the show but they seem to be lacking length. Some like this one is understandable because it's just a backstage promo. But other than that really, everything else has been fine tonight promo wise and shows why you're considered a top promo writer.

Meh, I wasn't really that fond of just eliminating all the jobbers early on in the match such as the Cruiserweights etc. I think a big name should have been thrown out early because Finlay didn't find himself out till number 8. When I mean early, I mean around 4 or 5 or so. Just as a surprise. The ending to the match was a great and creative idea for a Battle Royal that I haven't seen done yet. KK coming down wasn't really much of a surprise, and I definently can see a tag match happening in the future with Sabin and KK vs. Flair and Batista.

Overall, saw some spelling errors, grammatical errors which everybody makes too, so no worry. Promos were great as normal, except for length on a few, certainly not the opening one and the Rock/HHH one as they were long enough of course. Other than that, the booking looks good too. I'll try and catch up and keep up with your thread for now on.

SmackDown Review
Great promo to kick off SmackDown. This promo looked great to read, but I don’t really think Batista could cut a great promo due to his mic skills. Anyway, Batista was awesome here, and Kennedy was just fine. Ken needed some more arrogance and cockiness, and I was expecting that you’d mention Kennedy chewing his gum. Not a problem though and that’s only because I loved this promo. Length, flow, characterizations, the finish, and everything else looked good to me. Good brawl to end this promo too. Neat promo.

I was expecting the Hardys to win this match up since their opposition; Shelton and Helms don’t really have that much hype to get into the MITB Ladder Match at WM. I remember that Helms and Shelton were used last time at No Way Out. So yeah, good to see Hardys picking up the victory, and earning two spots in the MITB Ladder Match. The match itself was good also and the entire spots in this match were also fine. Good finish too.

The wordings used in this promo were just phenomenal. Every single word in this promo had great feel into it. Mark this; this is the first cruiserweight feud that has excited me the most! Just an awesome build up. The characterization and wordings in this promo were phenomenal, but I didn’t like how you just separate paragraphs at the end without adding the fans’ response. Just a minor thing that I didn’t like. Everything else was perfect though.

Good to see Mysterio ‘getting back his cruiserweight groove’ through beating Noble here. Expected that result, but a nice match up.

Ha-ha. Loved to see King Booker dropping his ‘King’ accent. Priceless. The promo however was just okay though, and the ending to it was decent enough to add more fuel to the build up of the upcoming US Championship Match for WM. I don’t really expect King Booker to win the Battle Royal tonight.

Great promo. Best promo of the night – so far, and I’m sure it’ll stay like this. Flow was excellent here, and The Rock and Triple H were absolutely perfect in characterization. Not a damn thing wrong there. However, when Triple H came out and ranted about The Rock, you must’ve mentioned about The Rock more. You just said the fans boo, cheer, and all like that, but mentioning The Rock every time Triple H finishes would’ve been good too. Good promo nonetheless that adds even more build up to this great feud.

Good to see you create an exciting promo by those guys, who aren’t even okay on the mic in the real life. Neat way to announce a match between Londrick and Shelton-Helms for next week though. Also, I just hope Shelton and Helms win that match up because they need to bounce back to get some momentum now.

Mark Henry and Kane as a tag team – intriguing. I don’t predict who would win at WM, and when time comes for predictions, I think that I’ll just be taking a guess there. Okayish match though that puts over Henry and Kane here. Pure dominance.

I don’t really think that Chavo would simply not back in this thread anymore. I expect the guy to come back down in the future. I guess that he’ll be back, but I don’t know when. Nice promo here by Chavo, which actually hypes up the Cruiserweight Match for WM even more. Great build up to that match, man.

Not fond of seeing three squash matches in one night (Well, the ‘concept’ of Mysterio vs. Noble was to make Mysterio credible so I take it as a squash match). However, we’re just two weeks before WM and don’t think its bad to make your wrestlers, who have a big match at WM, look strong. The promo before this squash match was good too, and the squash match itself was decent enough to hype up John Cena even more. Glad to see The Undertaker not present in this arena too; original.

Loved the short promo by Ric Flair before the main event. Not that much good to see all the cruiserweights getting out firstly. Just like King of Pain, I’d also like some big draw getting out early on. But anyway, the tension is really arising in the US Title Division. The way Lashley and Finlay got out makes me believe that we’ll now be seeing a Fatal Four Way for the US Championship at WM. Damn sure. Hope I’m not wrong there, lol. Good ending too, with Ric Flair surprisingly earning a spot in the MITB Ladder Match. I won’t be surprised to see Batista retain at WM, and Ric Flair then winning the MITB Ladder Match. Maybe a Ric vs. Batista feud later on for the title? Would be awesome. Anyway, it was a solid show, Mac.

Taker wants to keep his streak intact, as do the majority of the higher-ups but don’t be shocked if it happens. Vince McMahon is in favor of it.

After WrestleMania 23, expect for the WWE to call several of the OVW regulars up. CM Punk, Elijah Burke, Antonio Banks and Monty Brown are all expected to make their WWE debuts sometime after April 1st.

Expect some sort of tag team showcase match to take place at WrestleMania with top tag teams for both brands being involved. We're not sure if it will be on the actual show, the pre-show, or the DVD at this point though.

We reported weeks ago that Stone Cold Steve Austin was heading towards the end of his run with the WWE. Well, you can add The Rock in that category as well. Though Rock has thoroughly enjoyed his current run, he’s been bitten by the movie bug once more and is on his way back to Hollywood. The current plan is for Rock to stay around a while longer though, possibly until SummerSlam. He wants to give back a bit more to the company and has proposed a feud with WrestleMania 23 headliner, Mr. Kennedy.

Great news Mac. Mania is looking great and it's great to see that the US Championship will be defended at Mania. Cena beating Taker at Mania will be huge, but I will say having Taker lose at Mania won't be something that other bookers like, as many hated the fact that I had Taker lose at Mania last year in my thread, even though it was to Austin. I'm surprised that Punk hasn't been called up to the roster before Mania, as I think if booked right he can be huge in this thread. Also with your notes on Rock and Austin, it looks like Austin might lose at Mania, with Rock losing to Kennedy in Rock's final feud before leaving once again. When do you think Mania will be posted in this thread though?

Re: WWE 2007 & Beyond by DDMac

DDMac's SmackDown Feedback

~ I'm really, really, really so this review has taken so long, Mac. I've just had a busy last few days. Sorry again

~ I have really been into the last few weeks of promos between Kennedy and Flair, mainly because it's Kennedy and Flair who are delivering them, and they are beyond awesome, especially when you write with them. However, it was actually quite a welcome change to hear from Big Dave () tonight, especially after he beat up KK at SNME, and he has a lot to talk about. I find 'Tista's mic skills to be quite underrated really, as it's only his charisma that lets him down at times, which can be solved by simply making him appear angry and show intensity. You captured Dave's intensity quite well in this opening segment, and as a result I was very much enjoying his solo mic time, but, of course, it got even better when Kennedy got involved. Now it seems that this feud is really starting to heat up, really starting to get personal and violent; with Ken wanting a piece of Big Dave tonight, and accusing 'Tista of being afraid. That's personal, and it does go a long way to improving the intensity of this feud. I have to admit, I found it a little odd when Dave refused to fight Kennedy, as it seemed a little out of character for the monster heel that you have built him up to be in this thread. That quickly changed though, as Batista made it clear that he didn't want a match with KK, but he still wanted a fight; that;s more like the Big Dave you have been writing. The brawl at the end was hugely enjoyable, I have to say, as, other than the brief confrontation at SNME, this was the most physical contact they have had with one another, and it really lived up to the hype. Despite me being the Kennedy mark I am, it was fantastic the way Dave kept getting the better of KK in this fight, shoving him into the corner and even catching him in mid air. You have built 'Tista up BEAUTIFULLY as DOMINANCE personified, which is why it is going to be truly epic at Wrestlemania when Kennedy finally and hopefully slays the beast.

~ Hell of a match to kick the show off with. Four of the youngest, fastest and best workers in the WWE going at it for spots in the MITB match. I fully expected to see the Hardys qualify, as they are probably more over with the crowd, but I still hope to see Shelton Benjamin and Gregory Helms play some kind of role at Wrestlemania; they are too talented not to really. Also, I think I can see a possible face turn coming from the Hardys if they split (which they should) leading into their renewed singles pushes. I doubt that either of these two will win the MITB match, as I think the winner of the Battle Royale will do that, but I could be wrong, especially with Matt Hardy, who has a hell of a lot of unatpped potential.

~ You have probably turned your Cruiserweight Division into the most exciting one in BTB history thanks to Christopher Daniels, Chris Sabin, Chavo Guerrero, and now Rey Mysterio. I really salute you for that, Mac. This was another tremendous interview from Daniels, getting some more really personal comments in about Rey Rey and how it is his fault that Chavo is gone for good. I must say, the closing statements from Daniels about Rey being the most exciting of all time has me even more pumped for thius match up, as it seems that Daniels will be trying to outdo Mysterio a every turn. The feud is there. The background. The setting. The crowd. And the two guys who could pull it off. ***** classic?

~ Another great match for the evening, and I'm glad that you made the point that it was not a squash match, since Jamie Noble should not really be wasted in the Cruiserweight Divisin, and Daniels and Rey won't be able to carry it forever. Still, it was a great return match for Rey, and I loved the Tiger Bomb counter into a Hurricanrana and the 619. I could really see Rey getting the title at Wrestlemania, but then again, I could easily see Daniels winning in a 'passing of the torch' of sorts. I'm intrigued.

~ Oh man, I absolutely LOVE King Booker, and he was spot on here, especially when he went nuts and dropped his accent. It's a shame he isn't really involved in a more high profile feud, but I could very well see him winning the MITB match at Wrestlemania if he gets the spot tonight (I think it's between him and Sabin). I loved Regal's attack here, and I guess Booker is involved in quite a high profile feud after all, since the collapse of his Court has been given good air time. I had thought Booker was out of the U.S title feud, leaving it to Regal, Lashley and Finlay, but I guess after this he will be back in? Interesting. Sabin looks to be in the driving seat for the MITB qualifier later.

~ Ah ha, I think this is what everyone has been waiting for really, the first real confrontation between Rocky and Triple H since No Way Out (SNME was just a taster). Do you really need me to tell you that nailed the characters of Rock and Hunter? Do you? Well, in that case, you had them to a tee, man. It was a superb segment. Rock improves ten fold when he brings some anger and intensity into his promos, as it makes him something more than a simple comedy and catchphrase character. The two men contrast well with one another in terms of promos, due to the differences in their delivery; Rock is rapid fire, whilst Hunter is slow and methodiacl, and you captured that very nicely. I also really like how you bring up the LONG past and history between these two, as it really does give this feud that epic feel that it really does deserve. Strangely enough, with all of the hype for the other matches, THIS is still the one that feels like the poster boy for Wrestlemania 23, the ticket seller even, as it is going to be that huge. Like I said with Daniels/Rey earlier, we have the feud. The hisory. The background. The build up. The setting. The crowd. And the two stars capable and big enough to pull it off. Plus, Triple H in a gimmick match tends to result in greatness. Another ***** classic in the making I think

~ Hmmm, I was wondering when the tag team division would get a bit more build to it. The interview from Paul London and Brian Kendrick was not really anything special, and was a tad bland to begin with, but it was laced with that kind of old school face 'courage' that Bret Hart used so well in the 90s, so it made it passable. I don't know why you don't just let Gregory Helms do all of the talking for his team to be honest; he has charisma and mic skills in abundance, whereas Benjamin sadly does not. The tag team title match next week should be a treat, but I'm still very interested to see what kind of role, if any, these two teams will play at Wrestlemania.

~ Blimey, it would certainly be quite amusing to see Kane and Mark Henry squashing jobbers. Good fun had by all. I'm not too hyped about the Monster's Collide match up yet, but with the possible inclusion of Mick Foley as the Guest Referee, it will really have my attention.

~ Short but very sweet interview from Chavo Guerrero. It was handled very realistically, and had a nice feel to it. Chavo is not the greatest talker in the world, but this did it's job of seeing him off and getting some more hype for the Cruiserweight title match at Wrestlemania. I think at this point I have to agree with Chavo, and we will have a new Cruiserweight champ come April 1st, mainly because Daniels has had the upperhand through all of this feud thus far.

~ Yay, it's time for some hype for my favourite feud in your thread currently. John Cena was the f'in MAN at SNME when he laid of Undertaker, so I was really looking forward to his inevitable promo. I like the new twist on "The Champ is here" with "The Boss is here". Bruce Springsteen is here? Joke This was an excellent promo, really highlighting the clash between Cena's youthful arrogance and Undertaker's veteran mind games; it is working kind of like a different version of their feud from '03 when Cena was a rapper and 'Taker was a biker. Also, I remembered when Cena pinned Undertaker; it was in the #1 Contender tournament after Wrestlemania, when the FBI beat 'Taker up and Cena pinned him. Anyway, back to this promo, it is a nice move to make that you are making it abundantly clear that this is not going to be the standard Undertaker Wrestlemania feud or match up. I have to think that, together with Cena's comments, and your contempt for 'Taker's streak (and 'Taker in general), we will see the Phenom lose at Wrestlemania. I wouldn't have minded really if Undertaker had been the dominant one in the feud, but the fact is, he was he one who was eliminated from the Royal Rumble, cost a WWE title shot, and laid out at SNME. It would be a VERY one sided feud if Cena beat himat 'Mania and took his streak as well. Still, a great promo, and another random squash for Scotty Too Hotty. Scotty is like Cena's own personal jobber at the moment I guess every show needs its match quota, but I'm not a fan of more than one suash per show.

~ Great to here from Naitch ahead of the MITB Battle Royale qualifier. He was very funny as usual, and got me thinking that he may in fact get the win here tonight, especially since I know how much you have been pulling for a 17th Ric Flair World title before he retires, or at least a World title feud. Could this be his way into that? Personally I think MITB should be used to put younger guys on the map, but that's just me.

~ I guess two squashes are kind of justified when you have a Main Event of this calibre on the cards. Obviously the jobbers all get thrown out quite early on, though I was quite surprised to see Finlay go out quite soon. Since beating Triple H at No Mercy, he hasn't really had much luck, going out first at No Way Out from his team, getting beaten up by Regal and Booker, and now getting thrown out by Lashley. I hope Finlay gets some momentum back again soon. This was a great program for the U.S title feud to really ecalate, with Regal eliminating Lashley by accident almost, and then Booker playing the great cowardly heel he is by throwing Regal out from behind. It was great to see King Booker and Flair working together in a kind of heel tandem to get rid of the Hooligans and going after Sabin. I lughed when they both gave each other the thumb to the eye (I wanted a Flair Flop though). Booker goes out next thanks to Sabin, so I guess the King will be going after the U.S come Wrestlemania then. Sabin had it won in the end, until Big Dave dumps him out. NAITCH IS IN MONEY IN THE BANK!!! I'm excited now, but I'm still not sure if Flair is going to win it or not. I don't know if you share my opinion that MITB is for youngsters or guys that have never had a title reign before. Flair as Mr. MITB would be quite funny though, as would a feud with Kennedy over the World Heavyweight Championship. The aftermath to the Battle Royale was good, with Kennedy saving Sabin from a Demon Bomb and virtually guaranteeing a tag team match between KK/Sabin and Batista/Flair next week.

Overall this was another excellent show, Mac. I'm sorry once again about the lateness of this review, but it was a quality show nonetheless. We have a fantastic Wrestlemania card now virtually complete, with a tasty looking MITB match now set, as well as some of the best hype thus far for KK/Big Dave. Cena/'Taker sill continues to steal the show each week though. I just read through your News and Notes too, about Vinnie Mac really pulling for Cena to go over Undertaker at Wrestlemania. If you've read my comments earlier, you'll know that I think that in order for that to work 'Taker would have had to have had more dominance in this feud, and he has had none, so I don't think it is a good idea.

It's about damn time () that CM Punk, Monty Brown, MVP, and Elijah Burke come to your thread, Mac. I've been wondering for ages when they would, and I'll be very excited to see how you decide to use them all. Also, I thought a tag team showcase would probably be a godd idea. MNM, AMW, Cade & Murdoch, Highlanders, Hooligans, Mexicools, and Benjmain & Helms would all be involved I guess. It would make a cool match for either the Wrestlemania PPV itself or the pre-show. I hope it makes it onto the main show myself. No real surprise to see Rock and Austin both leaving soon after Wrestlemania, especially with your influx of new talent on the way. A KK/Rocky program might be quite interesting though.

FINALLY the Fatal Four Way for thw U.S title is official and on the cards. I think I've been predicting it for a while now. With those four guys involved, it should be a tremendous match up, one that I can actually see Lashley winning I think, especially with hhim being the only REAL face involved. Good job

Re: WWE 2007 & Beyond by DDMac

I had totally done a review of SmackDown! for you when my comp decided to not load the page when I clicked "post New Reply" and hence the page expired, with me losing my review. Sorry Mac, I'll return it for RAW instead.

Onto the news, nice to see some new additons coming through, that'll make up for losing Austin to sporadic appearances here and there, especially Monty Brown & Punk.

If Cena goes over Taker, I will never forgive you. Taker's streak is sacred and should not be ended by anyone, even if that someone is Superman. It'd be like Mickie James keeping the Women's title. Catastrophic.

Rock vs Kennedy could be good, but sadly, Kennedy would be:

1 - Champion by then
2 - A face and so over in your eyes Rock would go heel in the feud
3 - Glorified as the "NEW" Superman

Why not? I guess it'd be a big Summerslam match.

Hah, I don't really think Undertaker's streak will be broken here by John Cena. I think that you're just playing possum with us... just to keep the suspense, right? I guess so. Expected to see the US Title Match getting announced soon, but didn't expect that it was going to be announced through a news page. Good timing of bringing the new talents after WM too. Great news.

Taker wants to keep his streak intact, as do the majority of the higher-ups but don’t be shocked if it happens. Vince McMahon is in favor of it.

Kennedy.
-Well personally I don't feel Undertaker's streak should be ended by any WWE superstar, but if you do you'll certainly guarantee yourself as a BTB legend by being a person to actually have the bravery to end Taker's WrestleMania streak.

-I'm glad that Austin and Rock are both retiring from in-ring competition in the WWE, as it will add a bit more reality to your thread. Although Austin popping up in a non-wrestling role every once in a while would be nice.
