Glad to see you're back Mac, much like myself you seem to have had no time to post new shows recently lol.

RAW looks good, the Rumble is building up nicely, expect a review from me when it goes up.

Cool, Carlito's Cabana making a return, I wonder what you will do and what will happen.

I think Lita might have it coming for what she did

And wow that is a huge main event.

Can't wait for Raw, Royal Rumble should be damn sweet. I will be reading.

Just got on for the first time in a week and a half. Major computer problems. Anyway, the RAW which I had planned to post is no longer there so I'll be forced to recap it and post it sometime during the weekend.

Saved the Rumble though.

Good to see you back, MSN me when you can Mac, I've got my new stuff up and happy to see you back. Thought you left WF or something, happy RR isn't gone, that would've sucked. The preview looks pretty good, and I'll be reviewing as I'm going by all the threads today and reviewing tonight. Can't wait to see what you've got in store for the future of the thread.

I thought you'd fallen off the face of the Earth. Thankfully tho, you didn't. Can't lose our Mickie James mark

Good to hear the Rumble was saved, that would've been a bitch for ya had it not been. Tough luck on RAW but I'll still check out the recap.

Raw (Recap); January 15th, 2007

The first match of the night takes place with good friends and long time rivals Rob Van Dam and Sabu battling it out in an Extreme Rules match to determine one of the final two Royal Rumble slots. Van Dam and Sabu go all out for fifteen minutes, Sabu putting Van Dam through a superplex which is followed up some time later by RVD using the Van Daminator on Sabu. The finish comes when RVD goes for the Five Star Frog Splash ... but Sabu avoids it and Van Dam crashes into the canvas! Sabu attempts to follow up, trying to lift Van Dam but RVD counters into an inside cradle for the three count!!
RVD QUALIFIES FOR THE ROYAL RUMBLE!!
Once the match is over, Bill Alfonso runs to the ring, blowing his whistle like a mad man as the fans stand on their feet for Mr. Monday Night. Both superstars make it back up to their feet and shake each others hand to a nice standing ovation from the crowd.

After a commercial break, we return to a hallway backstage with RVD, Sabu and Fonzie talking a bit before John Bradshaw Layfield makes his presence felt, mockingly applauding the two. He congratulates Van Dam on earning the honor of being one of the 29 losers in the Royal Rumble match. Bradshaw puts himself over for a bit before walking away, leaving the ECW alumni quite a bit upset.

The next match up is a non-title match between the World Tag Team Champions MNM and America's Most Wanted. Nice, fast paced, relatively even contest between the two top Raw tag teams but in the end its AMW whom pull out the win, hitting the Death Sentence, allowing Harris to pin Mercury.

Shot of the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels showing up to the arena as Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler hype Michaels appearance on the return of Carlito's Cabana later on tonight.

Back from the break, we return into the locker room of The Big Show, whom goes over a bit of strategy with his manager Paul Heyman, preparing for his main event match against The Undertaker. After a bit, Umaga and Armando Alejandro Estrada make their way into the locker room and tension immediately picks up, Show and Umaga meeting face to ... chest. Estrada immediately calms things down, telling Heyman that he's here on business. Paul E. calms Show down and Estrada continues, hinting that if Taker didn't make it to the Royal Rumble, it would be easier for either Show or Umaga to take it. Heyman and Estrada smirk as The Big Show and Umaga continue to stare at each other.

In the third match up of the night, the Women's Champion Mickie James teams up with Victoria to take on the #1 contender Gail Kim and Trish Stratus. The women put on a solid contest and in the end, its actually the Amazon-like Victoria who picks up the pinfall victory, dropping Trish with her finisher, the Widow's Peak and picking up the victory.
Vickie snatches the Women's Championship from the referee and eyes it for what seems like an eternity before tossing it to Mickie, whom gets a look of impending doom on her face. Victoria leaves the ring and Mickie raises up the title, only to be turned around and dropped with a DDT by Gail Kim!! Break...

Back from the break... the ring is set up with hammocks and lawn chairs as Carlito stands in the ring, ready for the return of the Cabana. Carly speaks for a little bit before introducing his guest, Shawn Michaels, whom makes his way down to the ring to a huge ovation. Carlito plays a couple of clips, first Orton winning the championship and quickly followed by the destruction of Edge at New Years Revolution at the hands of his own group, newly joined with Orton. Once the clips finish, Michaels speaks his opinion of Orton, calling him lazy, complacent, immature, even going so far as to call him a second rate Edge. Once HBK gets to speaking about the Rumble, ***Burn In My Light*** hits and the WWE Champion Randy Orton makes his way down to the ring, flanked by IC Champion Ken Doane and Chris Masters. Orton grabs himself and scoffs at the accusatory comments of Michaels, calling HBK a hypocrite since Michaels was notorious for the behavior he accuses Orton of having. HBK responds by saying he's a changed man, to which Orton says "Bullshit". More heated words are exchanged and soon it escalates even more as a fight breaks out, Orton, Doane and Masters jump Michaels!! Carlito gets involved attempting to even up the score but its of no use as a 3 on 2 beatdown commences! Not for long though, as "The Wolverine" CHRIS BENOIT sprints to the ring! Benoit evens up the score and the faces begin to clean house, dumping Orton and company from the ring. HBK and cre stare down Orton and his soldiers until GM, Jonathan Coachman, makes an appearance, making a singles match, Benoit versus Doane. Following the break, NEXT!

The Intercontinental Champion Doane goes one on one with Benoit in a non-title match up. Doane actually manages to hang with the former World Champion for quite a while ... until Benoit steps into another gear, leveling Kenny with a couple of strong clotheslines before hitting him with a trifecta of German Suplexes! The Wolverine attempts to follow up with the diving headbutt but Doane rolls out of the way and Benoit crashes & burns! Doane then kips up to his feet and goes for a mahistrol cradle but Benoit counters it, rolling through into the Crippler Crossface!! Doane struggles for a bit but finally succumbs and taps out, picking up momentum heading into the Royal Rumble match!!

Inside the locker room of Victoria, Mickie James bursts in full of life, though holding her neck a bit. She does on and on about the teamwork that they showed tonight, stating that she wants to make up for the mistake she made last week, costing Vickie the #1 contendership. Hearing those words, Vickie smirks, saying she can make it up with a shot for the Women's Championship. With her 'fish' taking the bait, Mickie lays it out, saying that IF and only IF she makes it past Gail Kim, she'd be happy to give Victoria a title match. Mickie gives Vickie a bit of an arrogant wink before exiting. Break...

Back... In a backstage hallway, WWE Champion Randy Orton talks up the rest of his RKO Army consisting of MNM, Masters, and Doane (whom holds his shoulder). He trashes Shawn Michaels and then does the same to Edge, talking about putting him out of action at NYR. Orton wishes the rest of the group farewell before heading down the hall and out of the arena, into the parking lot. He gets to his car and notices Lita, the girlfriend of The Rated R Superstar, sitting on the hood. The two exchange sarcastic verbal barbs before Orton threatens to get violent with her, telling Lita to go back and visit Edge in the hospital. Lita agrees, saying she'll be back with a message next week before arrogantly walking away, leaving Orton to wonder.

SmackDown! Rebound

Cut to ringside where Ross and Lawler announce three matches for next week on Raw. First off, in a battle of former champions and RR competitors, RVD takes on JBL.Secondly, an eight man tag team match up, pitting MNM, Ken Doane and Chris Masters, the RKO Army against HBK, Benoit and AMW. Lastly, we will see a Last Chance Battle Royal for the FINAL RR SPOT!!

The Big Show makes his entrance down to the ring with his manager, Paul Heyman, Umaga and Armando Alejandro Estrada by his side. The Undertaker's ghoulish entrance soon follows but once the match prepares to start... *GLASS SHATTERS* and Stone Cold Steve Austin makes his way down the ramp, eyeing up all the other competitors, all who will be in the RR, before taking his seat at the announce table. Austin and Taker share a stare as we cut to a break.

The main event is a complete and utter slugfest with Big Show and The Undertaker beating the living hell out of each other with right hands. Each time Taker begins to gain the upperhand, Umaga, Estrada and Heyman make their presence felt, getting involved and distracting Taker. The finish comes when Big Show hits the cobra clutch backbreaker on Taker and then prepares to finish him off, signaling for the chokeslam but Taker is ready for it, avoiding the hand of Show and going for a chokeslam of his own!! Estrada and Heyman have seen enough, sending Umaga into the ring, whom drills Taker from behind, causing the DQ!!
Show and Umaga go to work, stomping away on Undertaker as Steve Austin just watches from ringside. The crowd chants for Stone Cold, wanting him to go in but he explains to the commentators that its every man for himself tonight and at the Royal Rumble. Soon thereafter, Big Show lifts Taker up and plants him with a HUGE chokeslam which is soon followed up by a devastating Samoan Spike from Umaga!! After a couple of minutes, Umaga, Show, Estrada and Heyman leave ringside and Undertaker struggles to sit up. Taker angrily stares at the four men at the top of the ramp, before staring into the eyes of The Rattlesnake.

END OF SHOW

DDMac's Raw Recap Review

~ Good to see this thread back up and running again, especially when I was really starting to get into it. Anyway, the show kicks off with a match. Shock horror! Not often Raw does that. Not just any match though, but an Extreme Rules Royal Rumble Qualifier between two ECW Originals RVD and Sabu. I vaguely remember this match being the idea of Mr. McMahon or Coach as a punishment of sort, making the two friends fight it out for a spot. Correct me if I'm wrong there. Well,I was hoping and kind of expecting RVD to get into the RR match, as, well,he's the bigger WWE star out of the two guys. It certainly would be a nice way to start the show and get the crowd fired up, with these two spot feasts giving us Van Daminators and the likes, which makes it quite funny that it ended with an inside cradle. I didn't quite know what Alfonso was doing there afterwards and thought at first that it might be for some significant reason, but it was just to complete the show of ECW respect for one another.

~ JBL gets in the faces of the ECW Originals next. Nothing has ever come from JBL's taunting of ECW in real life, except for more and more taunting, so it might be interesting to get an actual feud out of this, with JBL actually having matches with the Originals and such.

~ Well, I guess we know the next World Tag Team title fued then. AMW going up against MNM and winning. I can see following this win a pursuit of sorts, perhaps with MNM constantly sneaking the win right up until Wrestlemania, where I am predicting the demise of the RKO Army. Yep, check me out with the bold predictions

~ Nice little backstage segment between Raw's two resident monsters and their managers. This reminded me of the other week on Raw when Umaga met Khali, although Show is slightly more vocal than Khali. This tension is probably just thrown in there as a tool for excitement, as I can't really see a feud developing out of it, though there may be a bit of "whose is the best monster" or "there is only room for one monster on this show". We'll see. Good Main Event by the sounds of it. It's always good to have feuds going into the actual Royal Rumble match itself, and on Raw you certainly have, with Undertaker having problems with Big Show, as well as with Stone Cold.

~ A good match up for the women next with four solid workers of this division going at it. At first it was basically a means of getting Mickie James to square off against the #1 Contender Gail Kim. But it seems as though some tension is being built between Mickie and Victoria, basically making Trish the loose end of the bunch.

~ Next up is a nice little Carlito's Cabana with Shawn Michaels doing a good bit of running down his Royal Rumble opponent. I can't really see HBK winning at the Rumble, what with Orton having only just taken the belt at NYR, and I can see Orton/Edge at Wrestlemania. Orton gets in a few words too, and then the RKO Army beat down on HBK and Carlito.

Quote:
Orton grabs himself
Huh?

Benoit makes the save, so he is now apparently getting involved in this business with the RKO Army, thus giving Benoit something to do, as before he had little direction.

~ Very nice move by Coach making Doane take on Benoit next, kind of officially placing Benoit in the feud. Good win for Benoit; kind of unfortunate for Doane, as he has been looking pretty strong recently. Doane didn't sound too weak though, and Benoit is the Main Eventer so he needed the win.

~ Yep, the lines of division are being drawn between Mickie and Victoria. I can see Mickie getting the win at the Rumble, thus setting up this as her next real feud.

~ I am quite enjoying the way this feud with Edge is being built for Orton. Using Lita almost as a messenger of sorts, it seems as though Edge will be stalking Orton for a while. I can definately see the two of them locking up at Wrestlemania, but the question remains, will it be for the WWE title, or will Edge cost Orton the belt before then? Hmmm... I wonder.

~ Good anouncement for next week with some major matches announced. JBL against RVD (I'd still enjoy a JBL/ECW feud), and the Six-Man tag look particularly impressive.

~ Sounded like an excellent Main Event certainly, with Umaga, Big Show, Heyman and Estrada sounding like a real faction currently. Undertaker had the win but Umaga gets involved and Austin just watches. Kind of like the slow burning way you have been building up The Rock/HHH feud towards Wrestlemania, it now sounds as though the same thing is happening between Undertaker and Austin. That would be epic at W'Mania and well overdue.

Overall, I know it was a recap so apologies if this review was a little lacking. I enjoyed it still though, as I have been for a while. The RKO Army feud heading into the Royal Rumble has been a major attraction thus far.

7 Out Of 10 - Keep It Up

SmackDown! Preview For January 19th, 2007

wwe.com has gotten word that following the World Title announcement made last week by Stephanie McMahon, the World Heavyweight Champion Batista and the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair will be opening up SmackDown! to address the situation. What will The Animal have to say about putting his World Title on the line against both The Rock and Triple H in a triple threat match? And what will The Game and The Great One have in response?

After getting himself counted out last week, the Cruiserweight Champion, the "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels finds himself in the same predicament this week on SmackDown! as he takes on Chris Sabin with the Cruiserweight Championship on the line. Will Sabin get a legitimate opportunity to regain his championship or will the Fallen Angel retain his title by any means necessary?

Also on the upcoming edition of SmackDown!, King Booker and Finlay will team up to take on the "Big Red Machine" Kane and Rey Mysterio. Which team will pick up the much needed momentum heading into the sixty minute spectacular in just nine days at the Royal Rumble?

With the Royal Rumble fast approaching, Friday nights will be getting a lot more interesting and intense. Kurt Angle has been showing a whole new level of an intensity as of late and the feud between John Cena and Mr. Kennedy has only gotten more physical, which will culminate in the grudge/rubber match in just nine days in San Antonio, Texas. What can we expect from some of the biggest stars in the industry this Friday night?

All this and more on the next edition of Friday night SmackDown! on FX.

Viewer Discretion is Advised.
