News and Notes
Two hours before the No Mercy event...
According to correspondents at the event, both Jeff Hardy and Mark Henry are backstage at the No Mercy pay per view. It has been rumored that they will both be coming to the SmackDown! Roster, Henry returning from his SummerSlam injury and Hardy, returning from a four year hiatus from the company. As of right now, it is unknown to whether or not they will be making an actual appearance during the pay per view or whether the company will hold off on their returns.
Kurt Angle has recently been upset that the intertwining feuds between The Rock, Triple H, King Booker and Finlay has upstaged his feud with Batista. Expect the Angle-Batista rematch to make up for it. Angle is determined to pull a classic match out of Batista and has asked to go at least 25 minutes.
Expect the King Booker - Rock match up to be a short one as apparently The Rock still has quite a bit of ring rust left over and he wants to be looked upon in the best possible light. Most believe that The Rock will be the one to go over in more than likely a 10 - 12 minute match up.
Judging from the type of crowd which has shown up to the event so far, the Green Bay audience will be 100% in the corner of Mr. Kennedy during his match with John Cena. Don’t expect Cena to play the heel role in the match, even though he will be the most hated competitor in the ring tonight. It will be interesting to see who the company decides to give the win to, with Kennedy having an undefeated streak and Cena still being considered the company’s future.
No Mercy. February 27th, Tuesday afternoon.
