Re: WWE 2006 & Beyond by ddmrko
Monday Night RAW (Recapped) - August 21, 2006
New York, New York - Madison Square Garden
A video plays running down the major happenings of SummerSlam.
J.R. and The King recap all the big things that happened at SummerSlam before running down tonight’s card.
The night starts off with the new WWE Champion, “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels comes to the ring and cuts a promo. Michaels thanks the fans for staying by him for the past 10 years of his career, through the back surgeries, through his comeback and through his fifth World Title win. Michaels then says that as far as he is concerned DX is still together. The crowd cheers wildly but then Vince McMahon’s music hits and Mr. McMahon makes his way onto the stage. HBK does his typical DX routine, calling McMahon old and saying he wears diapers. Surprisingly, McMahon doesn’t get upset and keeps on smiling. McMahon finally shows Michaels “his cards”. The Chairman of the Board makes a huge announcement. Starting next week on RAW, there will be a DRAFT LOTTERY! McMahon tells Michaels that he wouldn’t be surprised if one member of DX ended up on SmackDown! Before he leaves, McMahon has one more announcement. Michaels will defend his newly won championship against Triple H in the Main Event. McMahon smiles and walks off as Michaels looks shocked.
In the first match up of the night, Shelton Benjamin faces John Cena. After a closely contested match, Cena picks up the win after the F-U. After the match, Cena calls out Orton and challenges him to a match for next week. Orton comes out to the stage and refuses, saying he has nothing left to prove after beating Cena twice. Cena runs Orton down with insults until Orton snaps. The Legend Killer runs to the ring and the brawl is on. Cena knocks Orton down with a clothesline and prepares to hit the FU. Benjamin comes after Cena but Cena catches him and hits Benjamin with the FU!
In a backstage interview, Armando Alejandro Estrada shows footage from last week on RAW. Footage shows Cactus Jack interfering in a match between Ric Flair and Umaga. Jack bloodies Umaga with a barb-wired bat, sending a message to Flair. The video ends. Estrada cuts a heated promo, trashing Foley and mocking the fact that he lost to Flair at SummerSlam. Estrada says Umaga can destroy Foley whenever he wants.
In the next match up of the night, Melina battles Trish Stratus for a Women’s Title match at Unforgiven. Mickie James joins J.R. and The King for commentary. Its a decent contest, until Nitro botches interference while the referee is distracted. Nitro goes for a super kick on Trish but she ducks and the Intercontinental Champion accidentally hits his girlfriend! Trish gives Nitro a low blow and then hits The Stratusfaction. Trish then covers Melina for the win. Ken Doane runs down to the ring and lifts Melina up! Doane carries Melina back up the ramp as Nitro is laid out in the middle of the ring. Trish and Mickie have a stare down as Doane carries Nitro’s woman to the back.
In the DX locker room, Triple H and Shawn Michaels talk about the WWE Championship match. Michaels tells Hunter that he plans on staying champion for a long time. Hunter says if one of them is leaving, he’s leaving with the WWE Championship!
A vignette plays hyping the debut of a new tag team on RAW. “America’s Most Wanted…Coming Soon.”
In the third match of the night, Charlie Haas wrestles Rob Conway. Haas wins what turns out to be your typical squash match. Haas forces him to submit to the Haas of Pain. After the match Haas grabs a mic and says that he plans on having some gold on RAW very shortly. The crowd gives a decent pop as Haas walks to the back.
In The Rated R Army’s locker room, Ken Doane comforts Melina. Johnny Nitro busts into the locker room, sees what’s going on and charges at Doane! Masters and Benjamin hold Nitro back and all chaos ensues. Doane gets up and attacks Nitro as Melina screams loudly as the two men brawl. Masters and Benjamin try to separate the two apart as Lita walks into the locker room. Lita yells at everyone and they relax a little. Lita reminds them that she is in charge since Edge is not here. She reminds The Rated R Army that they have lost their past six matches including two tonight. Tells Johnny Nitro that he can‘t lose tonight.
In the fourth match up of the night, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch take on The Highlanders. Robbie and Rory win the match up, using The Scot Drop to put Murdoch. As The Highlanders are celebrating they’re victory, two tall, well muscled men jump the barricade and enter the ring. One of the men catches Rory right in the face with a beautiful dropkick. The other man waits for Robby to turn around and catches him with a stiff running boot to the face. The camera zooms in on the two men’s faces to show that they are……Luther Reigns and Mark Jindrak.
In his locker room, Charlie Haas is taking the tape off of his hands when Matt Striker walks in. Striker says he’s been very impressed with Haas as of late and suggests a partnership between the two men. Striker then tries to entice Haas with the prospect of tag team gold. Haas turns him down and says from now on he is strictly solo. Haas grabs his bag and walks out of the locker room as Striker looks on upset.
Inside The Rated R locker room, Johnny Nitro tells Melina that his match up is up next. Melina gets up but Doane says that she shouldn’t leave because its not safe out there. Trying to avoid another problem, Lita just tells Nitro to go out there by himself. Nitro snatches his Intercontinental Championship off of a chair and storms out of the locker room. Doane wraps his arm around Melina as Benjamin, Masters and Lita stare a whole through him.
In a battle between former teammates, the Intercontinental Champion Johnny Nitro battles Joey Mercury in a non-title match. The intensity of this match up is off the hook as these two men seem to have a hatred for each other, stemming from Judgment Day. Towards the end of the contest, Mercury begins to dominate and hits Nitro with his Hangaman’s neck breaker. Nitro kicks out at a count of two and rolls out of the ring. He grabs his IC Title and smashes it over the head. Nitro loses by DQ and the losing streak of The Rated R Army continues. Nitro continues to attack Mercury after the match until Rob Van Dam and Carlito make the save.
In the main event, DX teammates battle when the new WWE Champion, “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels takes on “The Game” Triple H for the title. The match runs 20 minutes with both men controlling the contest at several points. Towards the end of the match, Michaels hits Triple H with the super kick. Michaels covers him but Triple H kicks out! Shocked, HBK sets The Game up for one more! Hunter gets up to his feet and HBK goes for Sweet Chin Music one more time! Triple H ducks and kicks the WWE Champion in the stomach. Triple H hooks the arms, jumps up and plants him with The Pedigree! Triple H covers Michaels. HBK kicks out at the count of 2 ¾, barely managing to keep a grasp of his championship. Triple H lifts him back up to his feet and prepares to hit him with another Pedigree. Hunter hooks the arms but before he can hit the move….SPEAR!!! The referee calls for the bell as the former WWE Champion Edge takes The Game out with a devastating Spear. Edge then goes over to Michaels and wears the WWE Champion out with hard right hands! Edge lifts Triple H up and throws him out of the ring. Edge goes back over to Michaels and puts him into the Edgecator! He holds in the modified Sharpshooter for at least a full minute as Michaels screams in pain. RAW goes off the air with “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels tapping to the former Champion!

Friday Night SmackDown! (Recapped) - August 25, 2006
New York, New York - Madison Square Garden
SmackDown! starts off completely cold, with no recap and no fireworks. The show opens in the parking lot with the World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle pacing back and forth in front of the entrance door. The camera closes in on Angle’s right hand and shows that he is holding a lead pipe in his hand. Joey Styles and Tazz speculate that Angle must be waiting for Batista to show up, so he can exact revenge for the brutal beating Batista gave him at SummerSlam.
The first match up of the night is for the WWE Tag Team Championship. The new champions, The Hooligans take on the former champions, JBL and Mr. Kennedy. The two teams have a very competitive match up until it turns into a melee with all four men brawling in the ring. Kendrick clotheslines Kennedy over the top rope and then takes him completely out with a beautiful plancha. Inside the ring, JBL manages to roll JBL up in a small package to pick up the win. The Hooligans retain the Tag Team Titles as JBL looks at the referee shocked.
Backstage, King Booker fires up the United States Champion Finlay and Sir William Regal. Booker says they all have jobs to do. Finlay’s job is to defeat The Undertaker and take him out, just like he did Lashley at SummerSlam. Book tells Regal that his job is simple and then whispers a plan into his ear.
A vignette plays hyping the debut of a new wrestler. “In three weeks, ‘The Fallen Angel’ preaches the gospel in the WWE. Christopher Daniels comes to SmackDown!”
In Teddy Long’s office, the Cruiserweight Champion Chris Sabin talks to Long about bringing in The Fallen Angel. Sabin calls Daniels a “cancer”. Saying that he is one of the most selfish individuals in the business. Long tells Sabin that he knows what he is doing and get ready for his match. There’s a knock on Long’s door and Matt Hardy walks in. Hardy demands The Big Show in a match tonight. Long says he would love to make the match BUT Show isn’t there tonight. Long then says if both men are still here next week (draft), he’ll make the match.
In the second match up of the night, Chris Sabin defends his Cruiserweight Championship against The Pit Bulls, Kid Kash and Jamie Noble in a triple threat match. During the opening stages of the match, Noble and Kash double team Sabin with several double team moves. Eventually, the tag team has a misunderstanding and the brawl between teammates is on. Sabin gets back into the action and now we “officially” have a triple threat match. At the 10 minute mark, Kash catches his partner with his Dead Level brain buster! Kash spends too much time gloating and Sabin catches him with a kick to the gut. Sabin then lifts him up and hits him with the Cradle Shock to pick up the victory and retain his title!
We cut back to the parking lot. Kurt Angle is still waiting for the arrival of Batista with a pipe in his hand. Four security guards come to the parking lot and ask Angle to hand them the lead pipe. Angle thinks about it for a second and snaps! He takes some of them out, hitting a couple right in the face with the pipe! Angle chases the other two out of the parking lot and goes back to waiting on Batista, with a crazed look on his face.
Sir William Regal comes to the ring and calls out The Rock! Rock’s music hits and he walks to the ring, receiving a earth shattering ovation. Before Rock makes it all the way to the ring, King Booker attacks him from behind. Booker hits him with several forearms to the back before tossing him in the ring. Regal grabs Rock and shoots him into the ropes. Rock comes back and runs him over with a clothesline! Rock taunts Regal as Booker gets into the ring. Rock turns around and Booker attempts The Book End. Rock counters and sends Booker into the ropes. Rock hit his Spinebuster and then prepares to hit The People’s Elbow but Booker quickly rolls out of the ring. Rock and Booker stare each other down. The Rock tells Booker to “bring it” as the king continues to back up the ramp.
In the third match, Chris Benoit takes on Gregory Helms. Helms manages to hang with Benoit for the first couple of minutes but when Benoit puts it into overdrive. Benoit hits Helms with several German suplexes before climbing to the top and hitting a flying head butt! Benoit then puts him in the Crossface and makes him submit rather quickly.
We cut to a Matt Hardy’s locker room. Rey Mysterio walks in and wishes him good luck in his match with The Big Show next week. Hardy says that he wouldn’t have to wait until next week, if Rey would have stepped aside at SummerSlam. Rey and Hardy exchange words before Mysterio leaves.
In the next match up, Hardcore Holly takes on Mike “The Miz” Mizanin. Holly destroys The Miz, beating him merciless for a couple of minutes before pinning him with The Alabama Slam. As Holly is celebrating, Batista comes from out if nowhere and drills Holly in the back with a steel chair. “The Animal” wears Holly out with stiff chair shots! Miz gets up to his feet and begins laughing at Holly. Batista looks at Miz and then kicks him in the stomach. The Animal drills him with The Batista Bomb! Batista then picks the steel chair back up and lays some shots into Miz. Batista grabs a mic from ringside and calls out Angle. It only takes a couple of seconds before “Medal” blasts and Angle comes onto the stage with lead pipe in hand. Batista drops the chair and tells Angle to get rid of the pipe. The Wrestling Machine thinks about it before dropping the pipe and bolting to the ring. Angle and Batista brawl and Angle takes Batista down. Angle hits some right hands to his face before security comes in and pulls Angle off of Batista. Batista picks the chair up and drills Angle in the face, busting Angle wide open. Batista then chases security out of the ring before hitting chair shots to the back of Angle! The Animal stands over Angle and raises his hands over his head, showered in boos!
In a backstage interview, Finlay tells Josh Matthews that he will defeat The Undertaker tonight. 1.…2.….3!
In the main event, Finlay battles The Undertaker. Taker dominates the majority of the contest with Finlay barely managing to get in his signature moves. The match runs about 12 minutes. Towards the end of the match, Taker gives the throat slash and prepares to hit the Tombstone. Finlay counters and gets Taker in position for a Tombstone. Finlay jumps up and spreads his legs, drilling Taker with a piledriver! Finlay covers him but Taker kicks out at 2. Taker sits up and comes right back at Finlay. Taker grabs Finlay by the throat and hits him with the Chokeslam. Taker signals for the Chokeslam but soon King Booker and William Regal jump onto the ring apron. The ref gets distracted by Booker & Regal. Taker takes Regal down with a right hand as Finlay crawls towards the corner. Taker attempts to hit Booker but he quickly jumps off of the apron. Finlay grabs the shillelagh and nails Taker when he turns around! Finlay covers Taker and picks up the win. Finlay doesn’t bother celebrating and just stomps on Taker. Booker and Regal re-enter the ring and ALL of the Court beats down Taker. The Rock’s music hits and he sprints down to the ring! Booker and Finlay bail out of the ring but Finlay isn’t so lucky. Taker sits up as Rock drills Regal with some right hands. Rock grabs him and shoots him into The Undertaker. Taker grabs him by the throat and gives him the Chokeslam in the middle of the ring! Rock runs the ropes ands gives Regal The People’s Elbow! SmackDown! goes off the air with The Rock and The Undertaker standing over Regal, staring at King Booker and Finlay.
